- 0:00Speaker 1: All Star Toyota presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where the.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied to come
- 0:10Speaker 1: off the bench. Hour two of Off the Bench Live
- 0:13Speaker 1: from the Mercedes Benz Baton Rouge Studio starts now.
- 0:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in number two oh TV Tuesday Morning,
- 0:47Speaker 3: Jake Flannelandre Taylor, Oh here with you. Two more hours
- 0:51Speaker 3: to go, and we're going to start off our number
- 0:54Speaker 3: two with the OTB Top twenty five. A quick recap
- 0:59Speaker 3: as we make our way down to number sixteen at
- 1:03Speaker 3: twenty five, the Boise State Broncos at twenty four, of
- 1:06Speaker 3: the Memphis Tigers at twenty three, the Baylor Bears at
- 1:10Speaker 3: twenty two, the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets at twenty one, the
- 1:13Speaker 3: Tennessee Balls at twenty, the Iowa State Cyclones at nineteen,
- 1:16Speaker 3: the Texas eight and four Aggies at number eighteen, the
- 1:19Speaker 3: Indiana Hoosiers at seventeen, the Old Miss Rebels, and at
- 1:24Speaker 3: number sixteen on the OTB Top twenty five, Taylor, we.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Are going to keep it in the Southeastern Conference. We
- 1:31Speaker 4: are going with everyone's favorite, the Florida Gators at number sixteen,
- 1:35Speaker 4: So they're top ten in the country in terms of.
- 1:38Speaker 5: You're just disappointed Matt so much?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Who do you think I was going with?
- 1:42Speaker 6: I don't know you want? Did you put Texas sexes?
- 1:45Speaker 4: I foreboded this, as you said, and I we won
- 1:49Speaker 4: voted it. We already did this. Look, they're top ten
- 1:51Speaker 4: in the country in terms of returning production. Thirteen starters
- 1:55Speaker 4: from a year ago. Four starters returning on the offensive line.
- 1:58Speaker 4: That's big incl Jake's who like might be the best
- 2:01Speaker 4: center in all of college football. Hayden Hansen's back, of
- 2:04Speaker 4: course a DJ Lagway. Now, Lagway had an up and
- 2:07Speaker 4: down first season twelve touchdowns, nine picks, but you saw
- 2:10Speaker 4: the flashes of the ability. Everyone's super high on Lagway
- 2:13Speaker 4: coming into the year. Also, Eugene Wilson is back, and
- 2:17Speaker 4: he's not even considered a returning starter because he only
- 2:19Speaker 4: played four games because of injury. He had two sixty
- 2:22Speaker 4: six receiving in a touchdown. But two years ago, when
- 2:25Speaker 4: he played double digit games, he had almost.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Six hundred yearge receiver.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Eugene Wilson who plays some football, he'll be a good
- 2:31Speaker 4: weapon out wide. They got four starters returning in their secondary,
- 2:36Speaker 4: Devin Moore, Jordan Castle, Sharive Denson, and Bryce Thornton. Six
- 2:40Speaker 4: is returning starters on defense as a whole. But guys,
- 2:44Speaker 4: Jayden Ball is going to be a stud saw him
- 2:47Speaker 4: last year kinda is that number two back, but he
- 2:50Speaker 4: took over late in the year. Six hundred and seventy
- 2:52Speaker 4: three yards rushing, seven rushing touchdowns, but over five yards
- 2:56Speaker 4: per carry. He's going to be awesome in this Florida offense.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It's behind that really good offensive line. The only reason
- 3:03Speaker 4: I cannot rank the Florida Gators any higher, it's because
- 3:06Speaker 4: of that schedule. We talked about LSU playing seven ranked
- 3:09Speaker 4: teams in the top twenty five. Florida does as well.
- 3:11Speaker 4: It's Florida, LSU and Mississippi State Oklahoma. Those are the
- 3:14Speaker 4: teams that play kind of the toughest schedules in the country.
- 3:17Speaker 4: So Florida starts out Long Island in South Florida.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They should be two to zero.
- 3:22Speaker 4: This next stretch is brutal at LSU at Miami home
- 3:26Speaker 4: against Texas, on the road against Texas A and m
- 3:29Speaker 4: It is a brutal four game schedule early in the season.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Now they do have Mississippi State at home, but then
- 3:36Speaker 4: you go Georgia at Kentucky at Ole, Miss Tennessee, Florida
- 3:39Speaker 4: State to close it out.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Not easy by any means.
- 3:42Speaker 4: But look, we said that this was going to be
- 3:44Speaker 4: a five and seven team a year ago because they
- 3:46Speaker 4: had such a tough schedule back in twenty twenty four
- 3:48Speaker 4: and they were able to manage it. Billiy Napier was
- 3:50Speaker 4: able to kind of get things right with a returning quarterback.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I think Florida pretty good team overall, sixteenth in the country.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Uh, yeah, you're right about Trey Wilson.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Yes, government name is Eugene, but if your name's Eugene,
- 4:02Speaker 3: you'd go by Trey as well.
- 4:03Speaker 5: He is Eugene Wilson, the third.
- 4:05Speaker 3: He is somebody that he is somebody that is very,
- 4:10Speaker 3: very dynamic. He's been injury prone though the first two
- 4:13Speaker 3: years of his career. If you remember, he was the
- 4:16Speaker 3: guy that his freshman year against Utah they got called
- 4:19Speaker 3: for a penalty because they had two number threes on
- 4:21Speaker 3: the field.
- 4:22Speaker 5: He was one of the number threes for Florida, Number three.
- 4:26Speaker 2: He gets the other guys.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Florida does have three starting quality running backs. I think
- 4:33Speaker 3: on this team is going to be a big part
- 4:35Speaker 3: of their identity. Defensively, edge rusher is going to be
- 4:39Speaker 3: something to pay attention to. Obviously, Jack Pyburn is here
- 4:42Speaker 3: at LSU who can step up at that position for.
- 4:45Speaker 5: The Florida Gators.
- 4:46Speaker 3: His schedule is brutal, but I mean, just like you said, hey,
- 4:49Speaker 3: we didn't think that they would win the games they
- 4:51Speaker 3: did down the stretch a year ago. This team is
- 4:53Speaker 3: going to go though as far as DJ Lagway can
- 4:56Speaker 3: take them. More than any team maybe in the country
- 4:58Speaker 3: outside of South Carolina. Quarterback is going to be everything
- 5:03Speaker 3: for them. If Harrison Bailey is leading the Florida Gators,
- 5:06Speaker 3: they are a five win maybe six win at best
- 5:09Speaker 3: team DJ Lagway is leading them, they got a chance
- 5:12Speaker 3: to maybe win nine games. So it is his health
- 5:17Speaker 3: is a concern, and not even like this, this latest
- 5:21Speaker 3: calf injury. I think it's just the overall him being
- 5:25Speaker 3: able to go out there all twelve regular season games.
- 5:28Speaker 5: But what is it.
- 5:29Speaker 4: He had to miss the game last year and Aiden
- 5:31Speaker 4: Warner played quarterback from Florida.
- 5:33Speaker 2: He was awful.
- 5:34Speaker 4: He missed all of spring with an arm injury. Now
- 5:37Speaker 4: he has a calf injury that developed us week Like,
- 5:39Speaker 4: that's why we were talking to begin the show.
- 5:41Speaker 2: See a little injury, prune, We'll see.
- 5:43Speaker 4: But look, if he's out there, he didn't even have
- 5:46Speaker 4: to be a world beater because I think he's got
- 5:48Speaker 4: a lot of talent around him. Trey Wilson Jayden Ball,
- 5:51Speaker 4: in my opinion, one of the best running backs in
- 5:53Speaker 4: the conference, or at least has the potential will be.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So Florida's got all the pieces.
- 5:57Speaker 6: He needs some milk.
- 5:59Speaker 5: He don't get some calcium in.
- 6:01Speaker 2: He needs a gallon a day. Did here too much?
- 6:05Speaker 3: Did his dad not make him drink milk at every
- 6:07Speaker 3: dinner growing up like mine did? He wasn't drink milk,
- 6:12Speaker 3: hamburgers milk, gross tater tod casserole milk.
- 6:18Speaker 5: I feel like this chili dog's milk.
- 6:20Speaker 2: There's a war on milk right now.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I need to buy a cow. We drink so much milk.
- 6:27Speaker 7: I like, have never been a fan of milk, so
- 6:29Speaker 7: I didn't drink it recreation.
- 6:31Speaker 6: There's been like.
- 6:32Speaker 7: A perpetual war on milk on my end.
- 6:34Speaker 2: But grown up drinking, I drink drink anymore. He and
- 6:38Speaker 2: Jay and milk. I'm good with. Here's the only thing
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'm drinking with. I grew up drinking milk. I drink
- 6:43Speaker 2: like a gallon a day in high school, I would
- 6:45Speaker 2: I would order it like we go to a Mexicano restaurant,
- 6:47Speaker 2: I don't order a glass of milk. It was just
- 6:49Speaker 2: that's what we.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Did, saghetti.
- 6:51Speaker 2: But I went through this period of time as a
- 6:54Speaker 2: grown up, like where I didn't drink any milk. Yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 2: and then when I tried to go back to it,
- 7:00Speaker 2: it mess my stomach up. And I think that you
- 7:02Speaker 2: have these enzymes in your stomach and then if you
- 7:04Speaker 2: don't use them, you lose them.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Hey, let me tell you you were pretty healthy in
- 7:10Speaker 4: your career.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Nothing nothing certifies milk being what you need to be drinking,
- 7:15Speaker 3: like Hunt Palmer saying milk is atrocious in the value.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Four chat That lets me know exactly I need to
- 7:23Speaker 5: be doing.
- 7:24Speaker 2: If that's not an drink.
- 7:27Speaker 5: We go through like two gallons every day and a half.
- 7:33Speaker 2: People always give me the argument about I talk about milk,
- 7:36Speaker 2: and they're like, well, you know, nobody drinks milk. It's
- 7:38Speaker 2: not actually that healthy. You know why, because like humans
- 7:41Speaker 2: are the only animal on earth that drink it past infancy.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And I'm like, yeah, we're also the only animals on
- 7:47Speaker 2: Earth that can like and make medicines and drive cars.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Get out of here.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't have like.
- 7:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't have an argument against milk other than
- 7:59Speaker 7: I just don't like.
- 8:00Speaker 6: So that's stupid.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Dev.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I drink a glass of chocolate milk every night. Shout out, Dev.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 8:07Speaker 4: You were asking about this yesterday. Somebody in Chad just
- 8:10Speaker 4: reminded me saw this. We're talking about the Florida Gators
- 8:13Speaker 4: l s U Florida Week three bringing back the Gold Game.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Next to the year.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Did we speak that into existing so.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Maybe it got announced yesterday and we were talking about
- 8:23Speaker 4: it on Friday.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Did we say we wanted that?
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah, because you said what happened to the Gold Yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 4: we were complaining credits speak three L s U Florida
- 8:34Speaker 4: and Tiger statement in the Gold Game.
- 8:41Speaker 3: That well, with dads, it's always there anytime we get
- 8:46Speaker 3: that's a good question on off campus me or EJ
- 8:49Speaker 3: in the zoom.
- 8:52Speaker 2: There too.
- 8:53Speaker 5: And we started like ago, right about three years ago.
- 8:59Speaker 7: I had a shirt that had Cam Newton dabbing on
- 9:02Speaker 7: it back in the day.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Isn't that His logo for his podcast is Tim Dabbing.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure telling y'all, I find like, I find
- 9:12Speaker 3: him to be highly entertaining, absolutely like electric. I love
- 9:18Speaker 3: when he's arguing with somebody because he doesn't like just
- 9:20Speaker 3: automatically like yell or like come out too strong. It
- 9:24Speaker 3: is very like thought out and the way he delivers
- 9:28Speaker 3: it it's really good.
- 9:29Speaker 2: It's very thought out, very like subtle and subdued, but
- 9:33Speaker 2: also disrespectful at the same time. The logo.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Logo, for some reason, I thought, like in my head,
- 9:43Speaker 3: I thought it was like the dab.
- 9:44Speaker 5: It needs to be an alternate version of the logo.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Can we get some OTV logo shirts that just say
- 9:51Speaker 2: good question on it? That's what I told you.
- 9:54Speaker 5: We can get.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We can get Marler hold his arm up yes, with
- 9:59Speaker 3: the good question.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Question on there.
- 10:01Speaker 6: That would actually be great because.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Marla got a good question at media Day.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Nobody else did several yesterday.
- 10:10Speaker 6: You did the other.
- 10:13Speaker 5: I thought you meant Moscone he.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Got a good question yesterday from Blake.
- 10:16Speaker 5: That's what I thought.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Blake, we all know, we all know, we all
- 10:21Speaker 3: know Scone slipped him at twenty before that.
- 10:24Speaker 6: Make sure you say a good question.
- 10:26Speaker 5: When I asked this question.
- 10:28Speaker 2: To get on this leader board.
- 10:29Speaker 6: No, I mean you're on.
- 10:31Speaker 5: I mean you're you're at the top of the.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Uh good stuff, good clean fun, good clean funds.
- 10:42Speaker 6: Good clean fun.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Carson says, I love that my high hat, which one.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Huh.
- 10:49Speaker 3: I'm actually I'm actually promoting the company because I keep
- 10:53Speaker 3: mine forwards. This one when he gets locked in, he's
- 10:57Speaker 3: like slash sloan and over the top. He turns it
- 11:00Speaker 3: round backwards.
- 11:00Speaker 6: That's how you know he's locked Who is it in
- 11:02Speaker 6: the chat?
- 11:03Speaker 2: That is like names all my every time I turned.
- 11:05Speaker 3: My head in different ways, I think, Daniel Blant, I
- 11:09Speaker 3: think have you ever seen Over the Top with Sevester Stallone?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Of course?
- 11:13Speaker 5: Okay, you two.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I am not seen a lot of slid movies, not
- 11:18Speaker 2: that one, so.
- 11:19Speaker 5: You don't know.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Hurley h.
- 11:23Speaker 5: It's disappointing. Can I get y'all could late ladies.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I mean, I'll watch it.
- 11:32Speaker 4: I watched the three director's cut Lord of the Rings
- 11:36Speaker 4: because Bob asked me to.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I'll watch the Selevester s alone. In the words of
- 11:40Speaker 2: Garrett Smayer, is it even my generation?
- 11:44Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 11:45Speaker 2: I was disrespectful about Varsity Blues.
- 11:48Speaker 5: It did feel a little respectful, and you.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Didn't have to come out with that question. A little hot. Garrett.
- 11:52Speaker 4: So, Varsity Blues is on Netflix, and over the weekend
- 11:55Speaker 4: I was like, Victoria, I know we're doing tonight, We're
- 11:57Speaker 4: watching Varsity Blues.
- 11:58Speaker 5: Was like Netflix right now. From my oldest son to
- 12:04Speaker 5: brought it on last week, go to West Canaan.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Y'all aren't real Varsity Blues fans. I have it on DVD.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I certainly had it on DVD as well.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I think I'm gonna say the only person that had
- 12:16Speaker 3: at least seen Varsity Blues was Blake Shaping from Shreveport.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Evangel through one great just saying.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Had he seen it?
- 12:24Speaker 5: He said he did?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Or had he heard of it?
- 12:26Speaker 3: No, No, he said I've seen it. He's like, I
- 12:28Speaker 3: don't know it well enough to know the characters anymore.
- 12:31Speaker 5: But says he's in elementary school or I did.
- 12:35Speaker 3: It's Prime Elementary, but I was fourteen, so I can
- 12:38Speaker 3: watch this, so Evangel, Yeah, elementary school fourteen?
- 12:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 2: What's the name of this again? What's the name of video?
- 12:46Speaker 6: Over the top? It's on Prime Video?
- 12:47Speaker 5: It is. Yes, I wish, I wish, I wish I
- 12:53Speaker 5: would have had a camera.
- 12:54Speaker 3: It was either Hunt or Marler. I think it was Hunt.
- 12:57Speaker 3: When I asked him that was right there. In the
- 12:59Speaker 3: dis appointment, Witt had to tell me that he had
- 13:02Speaker 3: not seen varcity blues.
- 13:03Speaker 5: It hurt him.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I know it hurt him bad, cut deep. So he
- 13:06Speaker 2: knew he messed up.
- 13:08Speaker 5: If and of.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Him and his brothers and all the other fellow meadtheads
- 13:12Speaker 3: sat down, they would love it.
- 13:14Speaker 6: Yeah, if they're not, that should be a team bond.
- 13:16Speaker 2: They have the ultimate qualifications for being a guy that
- 13:18Speaker 2: would have seen it.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Yes, he's literally I R L. Tweeter.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, he was disappointed and sad, but still had
- 13:26Speaker 2: a smile on his face. Somehow love they, so does
- 13:31Speaker 2: Blake Baker.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Baker said the Weeks boys, you'd let him, you'd let
- 13:35Speaker 4: him marry your daughter.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he now that that can be a part of
- 13:39Speaker 3: a real conversation. He loves West Weeks too, Yeah, he does,
- 13:43Speaker 3: like he like. Anytime that you bring up with he
- 13:47Speaker 3: makes sure that he also talks about West Weeks.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Look, man, you go out there fall practice. Wit ain't
- 13:52Speaker 4: the only one on the starting defense right now.
- 13:54Speaker 7: So he mentioned west Like being back there probably starting.
- 14:01Speaker 3: If anybody knows the Blake Baker audio from yesterday, it
- 14:04Speaker 3: is a laundra so during the break, we'll ask her
- 14:06Speaker 3: which one we need to go out here and play,
- 14:08Speaker 3: so we'll have that for you when we come back
- 14:10Speaker 3: here on OTV.
- 14:12Speaker 9: Top the bench.
- 14:15Speaker 3: All right, if you want to travel to the first
- 14:18Speaker 3: game against the Clemson Tigers, not only in style, but
- 14:22Speaker 3: I mean just Rick Flair style and profile and limousine
- 14:26Speaker 3: riding jet, flying wheeland and Dlan Rolex wearing son of
- 14:30Speaker 3: a gun, you need to go to a Sindashtravel dot com.
- 14:33Speaker 3: They plan so you can fan. We are talking transportation
- 14:38Speaker 3: to and from the game, which is typically a huge headache,
- 14:42Speaker 3: exclusive tailgates, hotel travel like to Clemson, South Carolina. Right,
- 14:48Speaker 3: if you want to travel on a private jet, they
- 14:51Speaker 3: have that option for you. They have every option laid out,
- 14:54Speaker 3: different packages, different plans.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Go to a Sindashtravel dot com.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, proud partner of LSU Athletics. They have the All
- 15:01Speaker 2: American package which is premium hotel, accommodations, game day transportation,
- 15:05Speaker 2: tailgate game tickets, and then they have the Heisman package
- 15:08Speaker 2: with that private jet. Oh yeah, fly in style. Let
- 15:11Speaker 2: them book the entire trip for you. You can just
- 15:13Speaker 2: show up, have a good time at cheer on the
- 15:14Speaker 2: Tigers at sendasktravel dot com.
- 15:27Speaker 6: What I've given you all my.
- 15:33Speaker 9: Love?
- 15:33Speaker 10: This someone who's torn it up.
- 15:39Speaker 6: And he's tigging.
- 15:40Speaker 9: Just all that ahead. But if you wanna try to
- 15:46Speaker 9: love again, baby child love again.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU Football twenty four to seven, you're
- 15:58Speaker 1: listening to Off the Bench's.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Best Baby.
- 16:04Speaker 9: Scott is the best, cost me lucky, He's gaste consist
- 16:24Speaker 9: sup bumb side show suit how many JOm tusdayd.
- 16:34Speaker 5: All right, welcome back again.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I'm s O t B one oh four five espn
- 16:40Speaker 3: bt rouge. You know what they say, we don't play
- 16:43Speaker 3: audio enough on the show. Every other show likes to
- 16:46Speaker 3: just say, hey, we got that audio of this coach
- 16:48Speaker 3: saying this, you know what, So we're gonna play some audio.
- 16:52Speaker 3: We are going to do it, probably for the first time.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Here is Blake Baker, LSU's defensive coordinator on the Week's Brothers.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It's a lot of fun.
- 17:01Speaker 8: Those those three brothers are. They're fun to coach. Uh,
- 17:06Speaker 8: you know, Zach's Zach's like a lot of freshmen. He's
- 17:09Speaker 8: he's probably getting coached a lot meaner than the other two,
- 17:13Speaker 8: but that just comes with it with the territory. But
- 17:15Speaker 8: those three guys, especially the two older ones you know
- 17:18Speaker 8: that that have been in here. Man, great leaders, all
- 17:20Speaker 8: the stuff that they do. From a tangible standpoint, what's
- 17:23Speaker 8: more impressive is is how they carry themselves off the field.
- 17:26Speaker 8: They do everything the right way. They're the type of
- 17:28Speaker 8: guys you know, want you want your daughter to marry,
- 17:30Speaker 8: you know, And I don't I don't say that lightly.
- 17:32Speaker 8: I think those two guys, the three guys are phenomenal
- 17:35Speaker 8: young men. Obviously they're play on the field speaks for itself.
- 17:38Speaker 8: But what they do off the field, and how they
- 17:40Speaker 8: carry themselves, and and and the job that David n
- 17:42Speaker 8: Aaron have done raising them is is uh it's fun
- 17:44Speaker 8: to coach. There's not a lot of high maintenance with
- 17:46Speaker 8: those three.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Uh yeah, so look, we don't play a lot of audio,
- 17:49Speaker 5: but wanted to play that one.
- 17:51Speaker 3: All jokes aside, because I think the Week's brothers are
- 17:54Speaker 3: exactly kind of what l s U they.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Needed and they continue to need. I think you need.
- 17:59Speaker 3: And I'm not like when I use this term, y'all know,
- 18:02Speaker 3: like this truly does mean something to me. Like they
- 18:05Speaker 3: needed some meatheads, they needed some guys that are like
- 18:08Speaker 3: all about the school they're playing for They're gonna do
- 18:11Speaker 3: literally whatever it takes. They're gonna put their body on
- 18:14Speaker 3: the line. They don't really care what happens to themselves
- 18:17Speaker 3: as long as it's good for the team. I think
- 18:19Speaker 3: about West Weeks last year. He could have helped this
- 18:22Speaker 3: football team, but he had some injuries and he wasn't
- 18:26Speaker 3: able to get on the field for a bulk of
- 18:27Speaker 3: the season. And once he got healthy, he had a
- 18:30Speaker 3: decision he had to make, and it was one that
- 18:34Speaker 3: he had to sit out some games because he knew
- 18:36Speaker 3: he could come back this year. He knew he could
- 18:38Speaker 3: use that year as a red shirt year and come
- 18:41Speaker 3: back and play with both of his brothers and give
- 18:44Speaker 3: Lsu everything he had. I'm sure that was difficult for him.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I'm sure he wanted to get out there for like,
- 18:48Speaker 3: you know, the two games that he probably could have.
- 18:50Speaker 3: And so this is somebody that is ready for this moment.
- 18:53Speaker 3: We know what with Weeks is all about. He's at
- 18:56Speaker 3: SEC media days, He's on every preseason All American list.
- 18:59Speaker 3: But look, you bring in uh Taylor's cousin Sharp to
- 19:03Speaker 3: play tight end. You bring in Piraten and edge Rusher,
- 19:08Speaker 3: and they are like, you know, the ultimate meatheads. And
- 19:10Speaker 3: you can't like the weight staff, you ask them about
- 19:12Speaker 3: them and they're like they light up and they just
- 19:14Speaker 3: start smiling them. I think that's good to have some
- 19:17Speaker 3: of those guys that are just like, hey, we're all
- 19:19Speaker 3: about ball, you know, we're all about being mean, nasty, tough,
- 19:24Speaker 3: the physicality of it. So you know, that's a group
- 19:27Speaker 3: of guys that I'm looking forward to seeing how it
- 19:29Speaker 3: all plays out for him.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're not a group of guys like they
- 19:35Speaker 2: walk into a room, they strike you as like, man,
- 19:37Speaker 2: those are big intimidating dudes right right, like physically talented,
- 19:44Speaker 2: but like not the not the baddest dude in the room,
- 19:47Speaker 2: like just from like a stature standpoint, but guys that
- 19:52Speaker 2: you have to have on a team. And I look
- 19:55Speaker 2: back at the defense last year, you know what would
- 19:58Speaker 2: be the like the unquestioned to me like emotional, spiritual
- 20:02Speaker 2: leader of a defense and a defense last year that
- 20:06Speaker 2: you know, by LSU's standards over the last twenty years,
- 20:10Speaker 2: not great, but with the talent they had what they
- 20:13Speaker 2: were working with, overachieved and played at times better than
- 20:18Speaker 2: what maybe the roster from top to bottom set because
- 20:22Speaker 2: they played hard, they played with their hair on fire.
- 20:24Speaker 2: That's what was so frustrating, frustrating in previous years. And
- 20:28Speaker 2: I know we keep we don't want to keep bringing
- 20:30Speaker 2: up the MH name a defensive coordinator, but like the
- 20:35Speaker 2: previous years was it was frustrating to watch because you
- 20:40Speaker 2: saw talent on the field, you saw this and that,
- 20:43Speaker 2: but schematically wasn't good and then it just looked like
- 20:46Speaker 2: the defense didn't play hard. Yeah, it would just like
- 20:49Speaker 2: they'd give up on tackles. They would you know, they
- 20:51Speaker 2: would give up on blocks when they if they got
- 20:54Speaker 2: blocked up, they would give up. They wouldn't like it.
- 20:56Speaker 2: It was just missing something. Well, the weeks brothers and
- 21:00Speaker 2: with last year being that leader, like you saw something different.
- 21:04Speaker 2: You saw like a switch happened. You saw, all right,
- 21:08Speaker 2: we are gonna play with our hair on fire. We're
- 21:10Speaker 2: gonna have fun, We're gonna play crazy where we are
- 21:12Speaker 2: going to play with effort and if we lose, it's
- 21:16Speaker 2: not gonna because it's not gonna be because we didn't
- 21:19Speaker 2: give everything that we had and played with our hair
- 21:22Speaker 2: on fire. And with everybody, I think we're all extremely
- 21:27Speaker 2: happy with the job that Baker has done, but you
- 21:31Speaker 2: got to have those guys man, the Weeks, the Week's Brothers,
- 21:33Speaker 2: like are the epitome of that that we are gonna play.
- 21:38Speaker 2: And now this year going into it, they have those pieces,
- 21:42Speaker 2: they've they did well in the transfer. You have all
- 21:44Speaker 2: those pieces, you brought them in, you got more talent,
- 21:48Speaker 2: so you put that on the field. With that with
- 21:51Speaker 2: that intensity, with that effort that we just talked about
- 21:54Speaker 2: that they showed last year. I think they have a
- 21:57Speaker 2: chance to. You know, I don't know how special or
- 22:01Speaker 2: not they can be as a unit, but I know
- 22:03Speaker 2: they're gonna be pretty damn good.
- 22:05Speaker 3: I think they've got like you add, you know, Pybrin
- 22:08Speaker 3: to the defensive line, and you have the Weeks Brothers, Tatea.
- 22:12Speaker 3: You've been out to practice, you've kind of seen the
- 22:15Speaker 3: defensive back group. Probably the one that I've heard you
- 22:18Speaker 3: talk the most about, the one you've been most excited about.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Who can be that guy back there?
- 22:23Speaker 3: Because I think you need a guy like Flynn's describing
- 22:26Speaker 3: on all three levels, like Blake's defense, that's what it is.
- 22:31Speaker 5: I get, it needs that aggressive nature to it. So
- 22:34Speaker 5: who can be that guy in the back end?
- 22:36Speaker 2: The aggressive nature? For me, it's Aj Halsey.
- 22:39Speaker 4: I mean, he's seasonally in the wood every practice mentor
- 22:42Speaker 4: delaying the same thing as far as a leader in
- 22:45Speaker 4: that room, though Ashton Stamps doesn't come off the field
- 22:48Speaker 4: a whole lot, and he's entering his third year pretty
- 22:51Speaker 4: much as a starter on this Team's like.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I actually think there's options in the secondary.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Then also you've got Harold Perkins who's playing the star
- 23:02Speaker 3: position that can kind of be described as a hybrid
- 23:06Speaker 3: safety linebacker position. And for him, I think it's about
- 23:11Speaker 3: striking the fear in offenses like he once did. Like
- 23:16Speaker 3: whatever his role ends up being, we talked about it
- 23:18Speaker 3: in link last week, he has to be the person
- 23:22Speaker 3: that when you're game playing, because he's been that in
- 23:25Speaker 3: his career.
- 23:25Speaker 5: It's like, all right, where's number seven at? Where is
- 23:27Speaker 5: he lining up?
- 23:29Speaker 3: And I think the best case scenario is you can't
- 23:32Speaker 3: pinpoint where he's gonna line up are every Everything's gonna
- 23:35Speaker 3: be a little bit different. Like if you just line
- 23:37Speaker 3: him up in the same spot every time, then I
- 23:39Speaker 3: think you're doing his skill set of disservice.
- 23:41Speaker 5: And that's at any position.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Like he has shown that he can play multiple things
- 23:46Speaker 3: and I'm excited to see how they utilize him in
- 23:51Speaker 3: every down situations, like what does it look like on
- 23:53Speaker 3: first and second down?
- 23:54Speaker 5: On third down?
- 23:55Speaker 3: Does he move to a true edge rusher position? Are
- 23:58Speaker 3: you still going to keep him at the star position?
- 24:01Speaker 3: And then you're gonna bring four from the weak side?
- 24:03Speaker 3: Like what's it going to look like from him?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Because if you do it right, it's gonna be really good. Right.
- 24:09Speaker 2: If you do it wrong, it's just gonna be man like,
- 24:12Speaker 2: Like it's been the last couple of years. You're gonna
- 24:13Speaker 2: see the flashes, you're gonna see the sparks, but you're
- 24:16Speaker 2: not gonna get his full ability. Because if you find
- 24:20Speaker 2: the way to utilize his full ability, it's special, man,
- 24:22Speaker 2: it is so special. And so that's that's the job
- 24:27Speaker 2: that Blake Baker and the staff have to do. And
- 24:30Speaker 2: they but they got the pieces. They got more pieces
- 24:32Speaker 2: around him, right, so they have more pieces, so hopefully
- 24:36Speaker 2: they can get him isolated on some blockers this year.
- 24:40Speaker 2: But if they find that's the that's the puzzle piece
- 24:43Speaker 2: we're talking about. He is the ultimate puzzle piece, the
- 24:46Speaker 2: golden puzzle piece, whatever you want to call it. Like,
- 24:49Speaker 2: if you find a way to make it fit, it's
- 24:51Speaker 2: really really special.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I think you're talking about potentially twenty to twenty five
- 24:56Speaker 3: spots on the total defense list.
- 24:59Speaker 5: If Harold Perkins is a star.
- 25:01Speaker 3: This year, and I want to talk about the star position,
- 25:03Speaker 3: I'm just talking about a star of college football. You
- 25:06Speaker 3: could be talking about the difference between a top fifteen
- 25:09Speaker 3: defense and a top forty defense.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Let me tell you like we talked about when
- 25:12Speaker 2: we talk about South Carolina, we say, if Leonora's Sellers
- 25:17Speaker 2: is in the Heisman running, that means they're having a
- 25:18Speaker 2: really good year. If Harold Perkins is on an All
- 25:22Speaker 2: American trajectory, yeah, if he's a special player that everybody's
- 25:26Speaker 2: talking about, LSU football team is in the it is
- 25:31Speaker 2: going to be a top five team at the end
- 25:32Speaker 2: of the season.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I think you can make the argument that Harold Perkins
- 25:38Speaker 3: is the most important non quarterback in the country.
- 25:42Speaker 5: In the country. You can go across.
- 25:44Speaker 3: You can talk receivers, you can talk running backs, offense,
- 25:47Speaker 3: defensive line. There's some other people that certainly would be
- 25:50Speaker 3: up for this category. But just like Flynn said, if
- 25:54Speaker 3: Harold Perkins in November is being talked about as an
- 25:57Speaker 3: All American, LSU's in the playoff discussion in one of
- 26:02Speaker 3: the top ten teams in the country, and I don't
- 26:03Speaker 3: think it's close.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I think if he's if he's in that talk like
- 26:06Speaker 2: we think he can be, if they figured out the
- 26:09Speaker 2: way to use him, because he's got an opportunity with
- 26:12Speaker 2: all of these quarterbacks that we're facing this season that
- 26:16Speaker 2: are mobile, able to run like, he's got a chance
- 26:19Speaker 2: to flash a lot this year. We're a top five,
- 26:22Speaker 2: top three team. At the end of the season, we
- 26:24Speaker 2: are in the SEC Championship. If he's doing those things.
- 26:27Speaker 3: All right, we will take a break more OTB when
- 26:31Speaker 3: we come back. Actually, let's do this so we can
- 26:34Speaker 3: get some questions in when we come back. OTB mailbag.

- 28:42Speaker 10: That was ram drawn draw say sun.
- 29:09Speaker 5: Spots is man.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Nah nah nah I like that's all that really matters
- 29:16Speaker 2: self confidence?
- 29:19Speaker 5: All right, here we go. Let's get into a little
- 29:21Speaker 5: O TB mail bag. I help this special delivery for
- 29:26Speaker 5: the bench and look it is marked most Urgent'll be
- 29:28Speaker 5: writing to you the internet.
- 29:31Speaker 2: What the is the internet.
- 29:46Speaker 5: Hashtag?
- 29:46Speaker 3: Go to be mail bag offensively with the l s U.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Tight ends have the ability to do what Mason Taylor
- 29:52Speaker 3: did for nuts.
- 29:55Speaker 2: It's a different group.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Bower Sharp's been somebody that they continue to brag over.
- 29:59Speaker 3: A Treda's Green is going to be somebody that certainly is.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Identified as a tight end. But he's gonna line up
- 30:06Speaker 5: all over the place.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Now.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Mason Taylor was a second round pick for a reason.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Mason Taylor was the ultimate security blanket. I'm not going
- 30:14Speaker 3: to come up here in Pump Sunshine and say that
- 30:16Speaker 3: that's going to happen.
- 30:17Speaker 5: I have to see it.
- 30:18Speaker 3: But they went out, got two players out of the portal.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Another year of developing for trade as Green. They've got candidates,
- 30:25Speaker 3: but I'm not gonna come up here and say that
- 30:27Speaker 3: they for sure have a Mason Taylor.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yeah no, there, you're not going to replace a Mason Taylor.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Are you going to have weapons a tight end. Are
- 30:34Speaker 2: you going to find ways to use them? Yes, you
- 30:36Speaker 2: better or the offense if you're going to try to
- 30:38Speaker 2: get a running game established, play action game established, and
- 30:40Speaker 2: you have so much talented wide receiver. Yeah, but just
- 30:44Speaker 2: because we have eight nine good wide receivers doesn't mean
- 30:47Speaker 2: we're going to be the two thousand and eight Texas
- 30:48Speaker 2: Tech Red Raiders. We are going to run an offense
- 30:52Speaker 2: that's gonna highlight the running back, highlight blocking, So we
- 30:55Speaker 2: need a tight end. It's gonna be able to block.
- 30:56Speaker 2: We got to. We have the gamut. But of course
- 30:59Speaker 2: Mason Taylor's saying around pick you're not going to replace
- 31:01Speaker 2: that guy, but our tight ends will make big impacts
- 31:04Speaker 2: this ship.
- 31:06Speaker 5: Uh Telandr you want to enter that one at all?
- 31:09Speaker 9: Know that.
- 31:09Speaker 6: I think so too. I think Bower sharp looks really
- 31:11Speaker 6: good out there. He also was like freak of the
- 31:13Speaker 6: week during.
- 31:14Speaker 5: The week, like a weight room free of the week week,
- 31:21Speaker 5: I mean, crazy crazy Bower.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Okay, we're good, we're tired.
- 31:29Speaker 4: No, depth wise, this tight end room is better than
- 31:33Speaker 4: it was a year ago in my opinion.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Just top the boy now, Like Mason Taylor was such
- 31:38Speaker 2: a good security blanket.
- 31:40Speaker 4: But what made him so great was that no smart
- 31:41Speaker 4: had confidence and it had a connection with him, Like,
- 31:44Speaker 4: who's to say he.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Can't do that with the Bower sharp, but the trading
- 31:47Speaker 2: has agreen.
- 31:47Speaker 4: It's gonna look a little different, they're gonna line up
- 31:49Speaker 4: in a few different spots. But I mean I got
- 31:51Speaker 4: confidence in him because I think both those guys are
- 31:53Speaker 4: really really good.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Who can step up to me and be that saying
- 31:56Speaker 2: like I don't think Mason Taylor has ever dropped the
- 31:57Speaker 2: pass in his life. So it was just it's such
- 32:01Speaker 2: a good safety blank to have that guy there. You
- 32:03Speaker 2: know you're gonna catch it, Like even if you don't
- 32:05Speaker 2: make a perfect throw, he's gonna reach down and catch
- 32:07Speaker 2: a blow his knees. Like it's just who can step
- 32:09Speaker 2: up and be a really good safety blanket for him?
- 32:12Speaker 3: Yeah, because I mean, look, you had one here, you
- 32:15Speaker 3: had our guy dig Dixon. Like it's just like when
- 32:17Speaker 3: you have that tied end that you know you can
- 32:19Speaker 3: count on and just completely changes your outlooks.
- 32:21Speaker 6: But Trade has looked really good in the bowl game. Yeah,
- 32:25Speaker 6: at the end of the season.
- 32:26Speaker 5: Sure, and I think, like you know, he's playing basketball
- 32:28Speaker 5: as well. That's a lot, man.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I don't know how anybody plays two sports, and he
- 32:32Speaker 3: was playing basketball, and I think now like honing in
- 32:34Speaker 3: year or two, focusing on football, he is going to be. Look,
- 32:37Speaker 3: there's a reason he's one of the best players in
- 32:39Speaker 3: the country when he came out of high school.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Well, so many people want to ask, like, hey, who's
- 32:43Speaker 4: the three starting receivers? And I got there at eleven
- 32:46Speaker 4: or eleven most of the top, it's only two because
- 32:48Speaker 4: about we're showing up and trade has agreed around the
- 32:49Speaker 4: field at the same time.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Yeah, like both of those guys are a lot.
- 32:54Speaker 5: He goes talking about let's go ball. Uh see you
- 33:02Speaker 5: hashtag go to be mail bag?
- 33:03Speaker 3: Can Flynn explain the difference between O TB mail Bag
- 33:06Speaker 3: and ask the Bench?
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's easy. It's a different different drump I.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Can tell you the difference. We have time to do
- 33:11Speaker 5: mail bag and ask the bench. We don't. That's the difference.
- 33:15Speaker 2: That's a good point. Segment name is different, Yep, music's different.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a lot everything everything different.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Yeah, if y'all are listening out there and y'all haven't
- 33:27Speaker 2: like stepped in and joined us on YouTube, like God,
- 33:31Speaker 2: open it up on YouTube. Get you a little screen
- 33:32Speaker 2: name sign in, interact with us, come give us some questions.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Hashtag go to be mail bag.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Did BK holding us out of practice to move the
- 33:40Speaker 3: betting line for the Yellow Shoe fans to take all
- 33:43Speaker 3: of FanDuel's money. I did go up half a point
- 33:46Speaker 3: for Clemson and went from four to four and a
- 33:48Speaker 3: half over the last couple of days.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Take it easy, show, hey.
- 33:53Speaker 5: Show, hey man, we got we gotta talk about that.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Nothing will happen to him.
- 33:57Speaker 5: I don't know what's going on with that guy's.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Are they vin mooing? Do you think they're venoing their
- 34:02Speaker 2: bets and put in an exact game that they bet
- 34:04Speaker 2: on scro There's no way that stories, bro, that's hilarious.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I don't know if you're afraid to bring that one
- 34:14Speaker 2: up or not?
- 34:15Speaker 5: Which one?
- 34:17Speaker 2: Which one the most recent story?
- 34:20Speaker 5: We'll bring that? Yeah, we got that.
- 34:22Speaker 2: There's no way that story is true screen shots. Stay
- 34:26Speaker 2: tuned for that kind of hope. It is the do
- 34:29Speaker 2: you that's fun?
- 34:30Speaker 3: Let's see hashtag go to be mail bag. Do we
- 34:33Speaker 3: have any special plans for football Fridays or not? Any
- 34:36Speaker 3: remote plan? And we got a couple of things that
- 34:38Speaker 3: we're working towards. I've already secured my end of it,
- 34:41Speaker 3: so if Flynn's just got to pull his weight, are
- 34:44Speaker 3: very fun. I think Friday Football segment. We've talked about
- 34:48Speaker 3: doing some remotes. I'm always game to do whatever. There's
- 34:53Speaker 3: a remote we got I think the opening week and
- 34:59Speaker 3: so yeah, half microphones will work, We'll travel.
- 35:03Speaker 2: There's going to be hot takes made every week. Perfect
- 35:07Speaker 2: gambling bass.
- 35:08Speaker 7: Do you want OTV at your business the Friday before
- 35:11Speaker 7: a football game?
- 35:12Speaker 5: There you go, hit me up.
- 35:13Speaker 6: We can make it happen for a price, but we
- 35:16Speaker 6: can make it happened.
- 35:19Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah, you can't win, amateurs.
- 35:21Speaker 5: You just got to get your part of the Friday
- 35:24Speaker 5: Quad box figured out. I got mine.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Yours is easy?
- 35:27Speaker 5: How's mine easy? Mine?
- 35:29Speaker 2: Bobby's basically begging to come on our show.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Mine is literally a host and a business owner and
- 35:35Speaker 3: the mayor of Columbus, like they call him, the Mayor
- 35:38Speaker 3: in the Facility.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Who apparently has all the time of the world, is
- 35:41Speaker 2: just at Ohio State Facility all day long with his medaglasses,
- 35:46Speaker 2: which are awesome.
- 35:47Speaker 5: All I'm saying is I've got by far.
- 35:49Speaker 6: Figured out that Joe Burrow gave him.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 35:52Speaker 5: That's true. Hashtag go to b mail bag.
- 35:55Speaker 3: How much of the playbook do you think teams like
- 35:58Speaker 3: the Saints have installed up to this point?
- 36:00Speaker 2: The first page for the Saints, let's see we are
- 36:04Speaker 2: the whole offense has been installed at this point, yes,
- 36:06Speaker 2: oh for sure. Yeah, Like the whole offense gets installed
- 36:09Speaker 2: within the first two weeks, probably the first ten days.
- 36:11Speaker 2: There's usually like ten ten installed days. However, it's the
- 36:16Speaker 2: foundation of your entire offense, the entire foundation of your
- 36:21Speaker 2: entire defense. Now, when you start game planning, wrinkles get
- 36:25Speaker 2: added based on film and weaknesses you see in the
- 36:28Speaker 2: defense of the opponents, but it's all goes back and
- 36:31Speaker 2: the foundation is already put in. Now, when you go
- 36:34Speaker 2: into a week one of preseason, you might only say,
- 36:37Speaker 2: all right, coaches, your game plan for week one of
- 36:40Speaker 2: preseason is day one and two install only, okay, And
- 36:45Speaker 2: then you go into to week two, all right, coaches,
- 36:48Speaker 2: Installs one through four are open for your game planning,
- 36:52Speaker 2: and then it goes from there. So I think, clearly
- 36:56Speaker 2: on the offensive side of the ball, watching the Saints,
- 36:58Speaker 2: they stay they were really simple. Look, there's a lot
- 37:01Speaker 2: of shifts and motions, but they didn't run many different formations.
- 37:04Speaker 2: They ran probably ten different plays out of the same formation,
- 37:08Speaker 2: shift motion. You're not going to see that in a
- 37:12Speaker 2: normal game plan. It's just they're sticking to their day one,
- 37:14Speaker 2: day two, day three maybe installations for those game plans.
- 37:18Speaker 2: They're not game planning a defense. So when you get
- 37:20Speaker 2: into the season, you'll see different wrinkles, different plays. But
- 37:23Speaker 2: that foundation is already set and installed as of right now,
- 37:27Speaker 2: like it or.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Not, and each week the game plan is going to change,
- 37:35Speaker 3: like based off the opponent. Now, will you add new
- 37:38Speaker 3: things per week, yes, but it's kind of based off
- 37:42Speaker 3: what Flinn's talking about. It's kind of based off your
- 37:44Speaker 3: principles of the install that you put in, Like it's
- 37:47Speaker 3: going to be the same bunch formation, but maybe it's
- 37:51Speaker 3: a different run or maybe these two guys are blocking
- 37:54Speaker 3: assignment switches.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Because they like this matchup a little bit better. But
- 37:58Speaker 5: the offense is in.
- 38:00Speaker 3: You're not gonna get too many again, like you'll every
- 38:02Speaker 3: week's gonna bring something a little bit different. But it's
- 38:05Speaker 3: not like if you're thinking they go in every week
- 38:08Speaker 3: and like, all right, wipe everything off that board. We
- 38:10Speaker 3: got the Panthers this week. Here's what it's going to be.
- 38:13Speaker 5: It's not like that.
- 38:14Speaker 2: It is.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Hey, here's what we like from what we do against
- 38:18Speaker 3: the Panthers this week. Yep, and you pull from that.
- 38:21Speaker 3: You can run the same play. Let's take a running play.
- 38:25Speaker 3: You can run the same running play twenty different times
- 38:28Speaker 3: and it never looks the same.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Like. You can do different formations, different motions, different personnel. Like,
- 38:32Speaker 2: there's a lot of different ways. And like Jake said,
- 38:34Speaker 2: you're going to game plan based on the weaknesses you
- 38:36Speaker 2: see in the opponent, and you might install a completely
- 38:39Speaker 2: new play you've never run before. You might install that
- 38:42Speaker 2: because you saw a team two weeks ago versus the
- 38:45Speaker 2: opponent you're about to face score a touchdown on it
- 38:48Speaker 2: because they exploited a weakness. So you'll see that. But
- 38:52Speaker 2: when you and then and then in down, in distances
- 38:55Speaker 2: and in situations, you always go back, revert back to
- 38:58Speaker 2: your day one, day two, Base three install like two
- 39:01Speaker 2: minute drives, that stuff's installed day one. Everything you do
- 39:05Speaker 2: in two minute drives on defense and an offense, you're
- 39:08Speaker 2: not drawing up anything new. So it's all base principles.
- 39:11Speaker 2: If you're facing base defenses and you're running base offensive plays,
- 39:14Speaker 2: it's just who can execute.
- 39:20Speaker 5: So I don't know if that made you feel better sad.
- 39:22Speaker 2: We feel SATs fans, let's.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Go adult know if that made you feel better or worse.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Hey, I can guarantee you negative. Nick Underhills coming on
- 39:31Speaker 2: later on the show. We'll see what he says.
- 39:35Speaker 5: Man, you just call him.
- 39:36Speaker 2: I called him. It's not gossip. I called him to
- 39:38Speaker 2: his face last night. But he's I think he's very
- 39:41Speaker 2: He was real, sad last very truthful. He was sad,
- 39:45Speaker 2: but it hurt he was last year. It hurt him
- 39:47Speaker 2: to be truthful, which made him sad.
- 39:51Speaker 7: I feel the same way that I've felt the past,
- 39:53Speaker 7: like a couple of seasons. I think we're about to
- 39:55Speaker 7: have the same season for the third season in a row,
- 39:58Speaker 7: Like we're just taking this perpetual well, we're just not
- 40:02Speaker 7: gonna be good but win enough to like not be
- 40:05Speaker 7: the first pick in the draft.
- 40:07Speaker 6: So I know it's preseason, and it doesn't.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Really feel like I've always been the first person to
- 40:14Speaker 2: step up and hate on them a little bit. Do
- 40:16Speaker 2: you know what. I think they're gonna do some positive
- 40:18Speaker 2: things this year. Okay, they're they're gonna every now and
- 40:22Speaker 2: then during the season, Saints fans are gonna nod their
- 40:24Speaker 2: head and just say some buildings not bad stuff to
- 40:28Speaker 2: build on for the future. It's bad Saints, all right.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Uh, let's take a break because there's actually some more
- 40:34Speaker 3: questions that I want to get to inside the buy
- 40:36Speaker 3: you four chat. So we'll finish our number two getting
- 40:40Speaker 3: to your questions. Will have Nick Underhill New Orleans dot
- 40:42Speaker 3: football kickoff our number three.
- 40:45Speaker 5: Stay locked in here' to o TB off the bench.
- 40:51Speaker 5: I wasn't right.

- 41:07Speaker 3: four to seven, weekend, game day, holiday, does not matter.

- 42:14Speaker 7: I'm not he used to.
- 42:18Speaker 11: Light us cow my day was You've already won me
- 42:28Speaker 11: in spite of me and don't be alone by Bob.
- 42:33Speaker 3: All right, welcome back, gh OTV one four five ESPN
- 42:36Speaker 3: baton rouge. So let's get to some more of your questions.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Hashtag go to be mail bag. Did you know Billy
- 42:40Speaker 3: Bob got up to five hundred and eight pounds and
- 42:42Speaker 3: sadly passed away in twenty sixteen at just forty five
- 42:45Speaker 3: years old?
- 42:46Speaker 5: Sadly nook? I did know that Billy Bob Billy Bob
- 42:51Speaker 5: Reggie Ray. Yeah, true, very true.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Hashtag go to be mail bag is the O line
- 42:58Speaker 3: air quotes here an actual thing with reguard to run
- 43:02Speaker 3: blocking or are they just getting beat by a better
- 43:05Speaker 3: interior defensive line.
- 43:06Speaker 5: No, there's certainly something to that.
- 43:09Speaker 3: It's just like I'll just I'll speak from a full
- 43:11Speaker 3: back perspective, and maybe Matt has something different, Like every
- 43:16Speaker 3: tackle blocks on the edge different, every guard pulls on
- 43:21Speaker 3: a power or a counter different. Like I knew like
- 43:26Speaker 3: Chris Dillman, when he pulled it was like a bad
- 43:28Speaker 3: out of Hell with the most aggression you could have.
- 43:30Speaker 3: And you know, like Dilman was an all Pro guy
- 43:32Speaker 3: for like I think two or three years. I knew
- 43:35Speaker 3: that about him. Like Mike Goff, who was our right guard,
- 43:39Speaker 3: he was a slow puller. He liked to kind of
- 43:40Speaker 3: figure it out a little bit, like he didn't like
- 43:42Speaker 3: to just go like a bad out of Hell, Like
- 43:44Speaker 3: he liked to read it a little bit more.
- 43:46Speaker 5: So I had to take an extra step, like i'd
- 43:49Speaker 5: even on power.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I would try to like fall step a little bit
- 43:51Speaker 3: because I knew he was going to be a little
- 43:53Speaker 3: bit different.
- 43:54Speaker 5: And so you have to know that.
- 43:56Speaker 3: You have to learn that tight ends for sure, like
- 43:58Speaker 3: if you're combo blocking with a in on like a
- 44:01Speaker 3: stretch lead. Well, Randy McMichael's gonna block it completely different
- 44:05Speaker 3: than Antonio Gates and I have to know that as
- 44:08Speaker 3: a fullback, and so I think for sure, like the
- 44:11Speaker 3: run game is you got to.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Be in unison.
- 44:15Speaker 3: We talked about it yesterday, like eleven people have to
- 44:17Speaker 3: be moving in the same direction. How many times you
- 44:19Speaker 3: seen a run where it's like, man, if that guy
- 44:21Speaker 3: would have cut the backside off, that's a home run,
- 44:24Speaker 3: hitting your head on a goalpost, but he doesn't, and
- 44:26Speaker 3: you get tackle in the backfield.
- 44:27Speaker 2: That's why breaking down football is like the greatest sport
- 44:29Speaker 2: to break down because it is the ultimate team sport.
- 44:31Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, it's also a
- 44:33Speaker 2: series of one on one battles all over the field
- 44:37Speaker 2: and you never know which play you're gonna get which
- 44:40Speaker 2: one because let's take inside zone. Let's take a week zone.
- 44:44Speaker 2: If you get if you get an underfront, then the
- 44:47Speaker 2: guard has a one on one block. If you get
- 44:49Speaker 2: an overfront, then it's a Comba block with the center
- 44:54Speaker 2: leading up to the mic of Sam or whoever they
- 44:55Speaker 2: want to lead up to. So like, you have to
- 44:58Speaker 2: be able to do both, and you can't just be
- 45:01Speaker 2: great at one on one. You can't just be able
- 45:04Speaker 2: to maul your guide because that they will they will
- 45:07Speaker 2: just line up in a formation that doesn't allow you
- 45:10Speaker 2: to do that. You have to be both good one
- 45:12Speaker 2: on one. So just like because both parts of that
- 45:15Speaker 2: question are accurate, they have to be able to beat
- 45:17Speaker 2: the guy across from one on one, but they also
- 45:20Speaker 2: have to have such a great relationship with each other.
- 45:22Speaker 2: That's why those like half line drills, whether it's pass
- 45:24Speaker 2: protection or run blog and this runt like that is
- 45:27Speaker 2: where you formulate that you know, like you said, air
- 45:30Speaker 2: quote giant on how to read each other's body language,
- 45:34Speaker 2: wait distribution, how they take on a step on when
- 45:37Speaker 2: the guard is going to pass off that backside shade
- 45:42Speaker 2: to the center and take off. He can't leave him
- 45:44Speaker 2: too early, yeah, or he doesn't have good leverage on him.
- 45:47Speaker 2: So that's how that that relationship forms.
- 45:49Speaker 3: I think I got to play maybe a little bit
- 45:50Speaker 3: later on if we have time today that I kind
- 45:52Speaker 3: of show you what we're talking about, and we'll have
- 45:54Speaker 3: Nick Underhill new Leman stop football, join us to kick
- 45:56Speaker 3: off our number three of OTV. Off the bench, all right,
- 46:02Speaker 3: go to ktoz Blinds dot com. It's KZ blinds dot com.

- 46:37Speaker 5: They're gonna come in.
- 46:38Speaker 3: They're gonna have the book out brand's gonna turn to
