- 0:00Speaker 1: Tensions are rising between New York City's Mayor Mandami and
- 0:03Speaker 1: Israel Prime Minister Benjamintan Yahoo. The flashpoint BB's expected trip
- 0:08Speaker 1: to New York. He's on his way for the United
- 0:10Speaker 1: National General Assembly that'll be in September. Mandami says the
- 0:14Speaker 1: Prime Minister is in welcome and says he should be arrested.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I want to make it very clear that that welcome
- 0:21Speaker 2: ends with me. I will not be welcoming Benjamin Nett,
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yahoo or any other war criminals when they come to
- 0:26Speaker 2: this city. And I do believe that our federal government
- 0:29Speaker 2: should join the International Criminal Court and ensure that there
- 0:31Speaker 2: is accountability when it comes to crimes against humanity.
- 0:34Speaker 1: The trip is still happening now. He's firing back, accusing
- 0:37Speaker 1: the mayor of fuewing division and anti Semitism.
- 0:42Speaker 3: He's fomitting hate. He's supposed to be the mayor of
- 0:45Speaker 3: all New Yorkers, Jews, Christians, Muslims, everyone, but he's trying
- 0:51Speaker 3: to turn one group against the other, and he's foisting
- 0:54Speaker 3: hate and fear. I speak to Jewish Americans in New
- 0:58Speaker 3: York and they're afraid. Right now. I intend to come
- 1:00Speaker 3: and speak the truth, speak for Israel and for the
- 1:04Speaker 3: Israeli American Alliance from the podium of the United Nations.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Hey, well, mom, Donnie responding by saying, he is not
- 1:10Speaker 1: looking for a.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Fight, so I'm not interested in getting into a back
- 1:15Speaker 2: and forth with Prime Minister Netanyahu. What I will say
- 1:19Speaker 2: is that here in New York City, one of my
- 1:21Speaker 2: top priorities is keeping Jewish New Yorker safe, keeping every
- 1:25Speaker 2: single New Yorker safe. And we know that while Jewish
- 1:28Speaker 2: New Yorkers compromise comprise a minority of all New Yorkers,
- 1:32Speaker 2: they comprise a majority of the victims of all hate crimes,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and it is unacceptable.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Former New York City Mayor Bill Debasio is siding with
- 1:40Speaker 1: Mondami's criticism of Netnyao.
- 1:44Speaker 4: I think he drew attention to the fact that Netanyahu
- 1:47Speaker 4: is literally a war criminal. This guy's policies led to
- 1:51Speaker 4: the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestanian children, and
- 1:55Speaker 4: that defines a war crime to me and to so
- 1:56Speaker 4: many people around the world.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Former New York City any Mayor Eric Adams joins us, Now,
- 2:02Speaker 1: mister Mayor, we've saw a lot of mayor's just there,
- 2:04Speaker 1: and now it's your turn.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Do you disagree? With Bill Deblasia.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Yes, I do. I think that people want to rewrite history,
- 2:11Speaker 5: and they forgot what happened on October seventh. I went
- 2:15Speaker 5: down to the books. I went down to see what
- 2:18Speaker 5: happened on the front line. I saw the tunnels, I
- 2:21Speaker 5: saw the literature. And we want to rewrite history. And
- 2:25Speaker 5: you know, when an elected official represents a country, you're
- 2:30Speaker 5: talking about the country, not the individual. And we need
- 2:33Speaker 5: to respect international leaders because we want our international leaders respected.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Let me ask something, mister Mayor. Do you know a
- 2:39Speaker 1: guy that commits genocide by texting people in towns before
- 2:43Speaker 1: they bomb, by dropping flyers asking for innocent civilians to
- 2:46Speaker 1: leave because they're going to be bombing the next day.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's what the IDF did before they went into the
- 2:51Speaker 1: most dense population probably anywhere in the world to attack
- 2:55Speaker 1: reluctantly and answer those October seventh attacks. Does that look
- 2:59Speaker 1: like jeal genocide when you drop fires? Did Hitler do that?
- 3:03Speaker 5: No, without a doubt. And as I said over and
- 3:06Speaker 5: over again, many people are not identifying what this is
- 3:10Speaker 5: all about. This is not about net and Yahoo. This
- 3:13Speaker 5: is the level of global anti Semitism that has happened
- 3:17Speaker 5: across the Globe and using the terminology of Israel. But
- 3:22Speaker 5: in fact, when you see some of the rhetoric, and
- 3:24Speaker 5: when you saw the marches in our streets after October seventh,
- 3:28Speaker 5: celebrating those attacks, this is a larger conversation and we
- 3:32Speaker 5: need to push back on it.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Allowed the first time I saw it, you're a mayor,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and I saw at Columbia. After the attacks on October eighth,
- 3:39Speaker 1: there were protests and one of the people in those
- 3:41Speaker 1: protests is now Now's got the Democratic nomination in New
- 3:46Speaker 1: York City. Most likely he is going to go right through.
- 3:47Speaker 1: There's going to be no Republican opposition. How is it
- 3:51Speaker 1: that October seventh and the Israelis are attacked at October
- 3:54Speaker 1: eighth there are protests against the Israelis in New York City.
- 3:57Speaker 5: No, and think about what was on those college campuses.
- 4:00Speaker 5: When we went on those campuses to shut down those
- 4:03Speaker 5: illegal protests, we saw literature that was not only an
- 4:06Speaker 5: attack in Israel. We saw death to America. I don't
- 4:10Speaker 5: know if people realize New York City is part of America.
- 4:13Speaker 5: And so when you're watching the same chorus from a
- 4:17Speaker 5: body of people calling for death to America and we're
- 4:21Speaker 5: not aligning ourselves with someone on entity that is in
- 4:26Speaker 5: partnership with us fighting against terrorism. And so when you
- 4:30Speaker 5: have the mayor of our city calling for protests in
- 4:32Speaker 5: the street, when you creating this energy in a city
- 4:37Speaker 5: on any group. Today it's our Jewish constituency. What hap
- 4:41Speaker 5: is later when it's the attaxes on China because you
- 4:43Speaker 5: don't like China, so now you go after the Chinese
- 4:46Speaker 5: of the city. Can't do this.
- 4:47Speaker 1: So what the mayor's referring to is the fact that
- 4:50Speaker 1: this mayor called for protests when Benjamin Atnio comes to
- 4:53Speaker 1: town and the cops are saying, are you kidding me?
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's hard enough handling the general Assembly. Now you're asking
- 4:59Speaker 1: people to go out and pro test a leader. Let's
- 5:01Speaker 1: talk about policy for a second. Here is the mayor
- 5:04Speaker 1: talking about rolling out city run grocery stores.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Watch once a month, our five city run grocery stores
- 5:12Speaker 2: will set prices for this core set of goods at
- 5:14Speaker 2: thirty percent below typical retail prices, no exceptions, no gimmicks.
- 5:19Speaker 2: The savings will last for the entire month. That means
- 5:22Speaker 2: no weekly fluctuations, nor sticker shock at the checkout line.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Not for our seniors, living on fixed incomes, nor for
- 5:28Speaker 2: the parents who rely on a regular supply of apple
- 5:31Speaker 2: slices to keep toddler tantrums at big So no.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Hot food counters, no butcher's block. We know that for
- 5:37Speaker 1: sure some items will be discounted. How do you feel
- 5:40Speaker 1: about city run grocery stores?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Is this an idea you thought about?
- 5:44Speaker 5: Not at all? And let's look at it two ways.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Number one, there's a way to help those family members
- 5:48Speaker 5: who I need. You could subsidize a food course without
- 5:52Speaker 5: hurting the local entrepreneurs. So now what happens to the
- 5:56Speaker 5: bodega that's next to the city run grocery status that
- 5:59Speaker 5: can't can't compete with thirty percent? And that's the same
- 6:03Speaker 5: thing that you're seeing with other initiatives like freezing rent.
- 6:08Speaker 5: If you own an eighteen story build eighteen unit apartment
- 6:13Speaker 5: buildings and your rent can't go up when heating and
- 6:16Speaker 5: housing is going up, that mom and pop, who are immigrants,
- 6:21Speaker 5: broking class black and brown people, they gonna lose their buildings.
- 6:24Speaker 5: That's the policy that's harm you.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Think that's the goal.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So the city takes that building and becomes the landlord.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yes, I do.
- 6:32Speaker 5: I think that the DSA and his courts don't believe
- 6:37Speaker 5: in home ownership, don't believe that individuals should own homes
- 6:42Speaker 5: without realizing what does that mean for the working class
- 6:47Speaker 5: people of this city. And I think you know this
- 6:50Speaker 5: is not a science project. You are impacting the lives
- 6:53Speaker 5: of broking class people and it is really sad to
- 6:56Speaker 5: see this happen.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Mister Marrit. You know when after October seventh, that's when
- 7:01Speaker 1: I started seeing the fracture with you and the party,
- 7:03Speaker 1: when you started standing up against the anti semitism and
- 7:06Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer stayed silent. And when you started standing up
- 7:08Speaker 1: and said this illegal immigration can't stand, the border's broken,
- 7:11Speaker 1: that's not going to be okay, you got shunned by
- 7:13Speaker 1: the White House and they basically targeted you afterwards. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: now if they had listened to you and the border
- 7:19Speaker 1: was strong, that might have been a different result from
- 7:21Speaker 1: that election. But now they realize how wrong it was.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Thanks so much for joining with right. Hopefully there's a
- 7:26Speaker 1: comeback in store.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yes.
