A Reno homeowner, Lance Van Lydegraf, an attorney who doesn’t even use Spectrum, stopped a utility crew from digging up his front yard to install a Charter Communications box—literally laying down in the marked spot to protest. Though the company had a legal permit under Nevada’s public utility easement laws, Van Lydegraf’s bold stand forced Spectrum to pause and reconsider. NV Energy clarified they only ensured safety standards, not that they endorsed the installation.
