- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm partial to guys who rebuilt their careers.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Touch to him all the time.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Thanky, you're so fun.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Mickey moniac.
- 0:12Speaker 1: To me, that's what we love about this game, to
- 0:15Speaker 1: see guys just keep persevering.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Due to the week.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Wow, that's quite the introduction, Mackey. Maybe we should have
- 0:23Speaker 4: Let I mean, you got Ken Rosenthal talking about you,
- 0:26Speaker 4: dot highly mabe. I don't know that Kevin Pillar could
- 0:28Speaker 4: have uh introduced you any better than Ken Rosenthal.
- 0:32Speaker 5: Let's try it, KP. Why don't you introduce your guy here? No,
- 0:34Speaker 5: I don't know if I could do it much better.
- 0:36Speaker 6: But obviously good friend of mine, my fantasy football uh,
- 0:41Speaker 6: you know, partner and crime right here. But I guess
- 0:44Speaker 6: I'll take the first question, Mickey. When you hear that,
- 0:47Speaker 6: do you kind of see yourself as someone who's kind
- 0:49Speaker 6: of reinvented himself or just someone that maybe it just
- 0:52Speaker 6: took a little bit longer to get to where you've gotten.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think I don't know, dude, I
- 0:59Speaker 3: think it a little bit of both.
- 1:00Speaker 7: I think, you know, obviously, throughout this game, you're always
- 1:04Speaker 7: you know, trying to get better, trying to evolve.
- 1:07Speaker 3: You know, the game's always changing. So you're trying to
- 1:09Speaker 3: change with it.
- 1:10Speaker 7: But I mean, like anything, I tell people, you know,
- 1:14Speaker 7: everyone's career is you know different.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Everyone's not going to have that straight line to success.
- 1:19Speaker 7: And for me, it took you know a few years
- 1:21Speaker 7: to really get comfortable playing in the big leagues. I
- 1:24Speaker 7: was fortunate enough to, you know, debut at twenty two
- 1:26Speaker 7: years old, so you know, I was lucky to have
- 1:29Speaker 7: that time to to kind of figure it out. But yeah,
- 1:34Speaker 7: I think it's a little bit of both. But it's
- 1:36Speaker 7: just a journey man. Just got to keep going, Mickey.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Before we get into your baseball, your career everything.
- 1:42Speaker 4: When you you and KP say you're fantasy football is
- 1:44Speaker 4: I mean, you guys are partners.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Who gets the draft picks?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Because I once did a fantasy draft in the Bob Beckdall,
- 1:51Speaker 4: who's the PR director for the White Sox, was my
- 1:54Speaker 4: kind of my partner, my draft pick. And I wrote
- 1:56Speaker 4: an article once on ESPN and I got destroyed because
- 1:59Speaker 4: I said, one of the most importannites of the baseball
- 2:01Speaker 4: season is the fantasy football draft night. And I did
- 2:04Speaker 4: and it went on on ESPN and I got annihilated. Oh,
- 2:07Speaker 4: I didn't care about baseball that's not true, but it
- 2:10Speaker 4: is one of the most important nights. And I also
- 2:12Speaker 4: got a chance to take a shot at Bob for
- 2:14Speaker 4: drafting Nate keating the kicker in like the fifth round,
- 2:16Speaker 4: even though kickers don't usually go too late.
- 2:19Speaker 5: So as have you and.
- 2:20Speaker 4: KP ever had fights like like husband and wives over
- 2:23Speaker 4: picks or trades during the season or has.
- 2:25Speaker 7: He let you do that? We're pretty good partners man,
- 2:28Speaker 7: I think, uh, we tend to We tend to agree
- 2:31Speaker 7: quite a bit. You know, we'll bounce off off each other.
- 2:34Speaker 7: We were talking yesterday. We got a trade in the works,
- 2:37Speaker 7: even though you know the draft is until September. We're
- 2:40Speaker 7: in a We're in a nice little keeper league. This
- 2:43Speaker 7: is gonna be year three. Now. We went all in
- 2:47Speaker 7: last year. Didn't work out, but you know, no regrets.
- 2:50Speaker 7: Our team was stacked until the injury bug hit. So
- 2:53Speaker 7: uh yeah, I mean it's uh, it's a it's a
- 2:56Speaker 7: good partnership for sure. Now we're doing what we can
- 3:00Speaker 7: all right.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Well, since you're a one one, most of the questions
- 3:02Speaker 2: I'm going to ask you about being a one one
- 3:04Speaker 2: we're talking football. Do you as a one to one,
- 3:07Speaker 2: because me as a twenty ninth round pick that got
- 3:09Speaker 2: a thousand dollars. I'm jealous at what you get as
- 3:12Speaker 2: a one to one pick and a signing bonus. But
- 3:15Speaker 2: do you look at the NFL one one pick and go,
- 3:19Speaker 2: holy smokes, I wish I could throw throwing the pigskin.
- 3:24Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, you know, I think they're getting what
- 3:26Speaker 7: is it like thirty million dollars signing bonuses and you know,
- 3:28Speaker 7: getting five year deals and stuff like that. Uh, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 7: I think, yeah, that'd be nice. That'd be cool to
- 3:37Speaker 7: get when you're you know, eighteen years old. I don't think,
- 3:40Speaker 7: you know, it might be it might be tough to
- 3:41Speaker 7: give an eighteen year old kid that much money. I mean,
- 3:44Speaker 7: I got what I got in to. I look back
- 3:46Speaker 7: and still think back to some dumb stuff I've done,
- 3:48Speaker 7: so I think, uh yeah, looking at it, but you know, hey,
- 3:53Speaker 7: we uh we don't have that salary cap.
- 3:56Speaker 3: So I think, you know, in the long round, try
- 3:59Speaker 3: to keep it that way. Nicky.
- 4:01Speaker 6: What's what's changed for you since you've gone to Colorado?
- 4:04Speaker 6: Is it just consistent opportunity, is it change of scenery?
- 4:09Speaker 6: Is it working with someone within the Colorado's Rockies organization?
- 4:12Speaker 6: What's what's really changed because these last year and a
- 4:15Speaker 6: half has been you know, really really good for you.
- 4:19Speaker 7: Yeah. I think it's just getting the opportunity, you know,
- 4:21Speaker 7: getting over to Colorado.
- 4:22Speaker 3: They believed in the day one.
- 4:24Speaker 7: You know, I think just you know, having that belief
- 4:27Speaker 7: from the organization and and you know, from the coaching staff, Uh,
- 4:31Speaker 7: was huge for me. You know, I think just the city.
- 4:35Speaker 7: You know, my wife's family's from Colorado, the comfortability there.
- 4:40Speaker 7: You know, the guys on the team. You know, last
- 4:42Speaker 7: year is obviously what it was, you know, not a
- 4:45Speaker 7: not a fun year overall, but you know, the guys
- 4:47Speaker 7: on the team kept pushing. We're young, Uh, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 7: Shaefe taken over. He was you know, huge, and and
- 4:53Speaker 7: you know, making sure we're staying on track, making sure
- 4:55Speaker 7: we're not taking this for granted and and learning from it.
- 4:58Speaker 7: And you knowultimately, I think just the potential to build
- 5:03Speaker 7: something special here. I think is you know something that
- 5:07Speaker 7: excites me. And yeah, I think it's just been a
- 5:10Speaker 7: perfect fit so far.
- 5:12Speaker 2: First, like, try to bottle up what you're saying. You know,
- 5:16Speaker 2: they're trying to let you be you. What does that mean?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Like you write your name where you want to hit
- 5:21Speaker 2: in the line up because fans don't understand what being
- 5:24Speaker 2: you is. You came up through the Phillies organization, and
- 5:27Speaker 2: I have some arguments of the people that they were
- 5:32Speaker 2: running the organization when you got through there. But we
- 5:34Speaker 2: won't make you drag them through the mud. I'll let
- 5:37Speaker 2: you get off and I'll drag them through the mud.
- 5:38Speaker 2: But what does that mean? What does that mean for
- 5:41Speaker 2: a player? Because tons of teams are looking for value
- 5:45Speaker 2: that you are giving, and a lot everybody had a
- 5:48Speaker 2: shot at you and they didn't pick you up.
- 5:52Speaker 7: Yeah, I think, you know, I think, I mean, honestly,
- 5:56Speaker 7: it's just you know, you go out there and early
- 5:58Speaker 7: on in my career of Philly, I think it was
- 6:00Speaker 7: you know, I was going into every game trying to
- 6:02Speaker 7: go five for four, you know, just trying to get
- 6:04Speaker 7: those five hits to you know, have the chance to
- 6:06Speaker 7: play in the lineup the next day. And you know,
- 6:09Speaker 7: at that time, you know, Philly was was built to win,
- 6:12Speaker 7: and you know, they really didn't give me too much
- 6:14Speaker 7: of a leash. And I understand that. I get the
- 6:16Speaker 7: nature of the game, and there's a lot of money
- 6:18Speaker 7: out in that field and in that organization at the time,
- 6:20Speaker 7: and you know, I think you guys know, it's it's
- 6:24Speaker 7: just about getting experienced, getting consistent at bats, and and
- 6:27Speaker 7: just kind of learning. You know, the big leagues is tough,
- 6:29Speaker 7: and it takes time to to kind of figure that out.
- 6:32Speaker 7: And you know some guys that happens like that, and
- 6:34Speaker 7: other guys, you know, it may take you know, a
- 6:36Speaker 7: couple hundred at bats to to really get your footing.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But I think it's just you.
- 6:41Speaker 7: Know, here in Colorado, you know, I'm going out there
- 6:44Speaker 7: and I'm doing everything I can to help the team win.
- 6:46Speaker 7: And you know, I know I'm gonna be in the
- 6:48Speaker 7: lineup the next day and and uh, you know, gonna
- 6:51Speaker 7: have a chance to do it again tomorrow.
- 6:54Speaker 1: God bother, I'm a last minute guy. Sometimes you're a
- 6:56Speaker 1: last minute guy where you all of a sudden see
- 6:58Speaker 1: a night open up and you want to go grab
- 7:00Speaker 1: some tickets, and you hadn't gotten them already, So you're
- 7:03Speaker 1: going to see geek and you're gonna go look for
- 7:06Speaker 1: a green dot and see where the good seats are
- 7:08Speaker 1: and the good value is and have a little night
- 7:10Speaker 1: with the fam.
- 7:11Speaker 8: Right without a doubt. And I'm looking for some of
- 7:13Speaker 8: the best seats. I'm looking for that green dot when
- 7:16Speaker 8: I get that. It's a simple plug it in, use
- 7:18Speaker 8: your hands, go right on your screen, your phone, whatever
- 7:22Speaker 8: platform you can get it on. And it's so simple.
- 7:25Speaker 8: They make it so easy for you to do. Even
- 7:28Speaker 8: my son can do it if I ask them. Hey, Blikester,
- 7:30Speaker 8: let's go man, get on there for us. Find us
- 7:32Speaker 8: a couple of seats so we can watch even that
- 7:35Speaker 8: Subway series. That would be fantastic. Seat Geek has it
- 7:38Speaker 8: all there for you.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and the code for you. You should know it.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It's Territory ten. It just gets you ten percent off
- 7:43Speaker 1: your next set of tickets. It's EKE ten percent off
- 7:46Speaker 1: any tickets with promo code Territory one zero. Make sure
- 7:49Speaker 1: you click the link in the description, download the app.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Then the code is automatically added to your account so
- 7:53Speaker 1: you can use it later.
- 7:54Speaker 4: NICKI, did you feel pressure from the Philly fans? Was
- 7:57Speaker 4: Aerkratz one of the fans that was there booing you
- 8:00Speaker 4: every day because he.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Lives He's a big Phillies fan.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Do you think he was in the stands And did
- 8:04Speaker 4: you hear a specific taunt from Eric Kratz in the
- 8:08Speaker 4: Philadelphia stands when you played there?
- 8:11Speaker 3: I mean there was, there was a few of them. Crassy,
- 8:13Speaker 3: were you there?
- 8:14Speaker 2: It wasn't me, I'm pretty sure.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Because I thought it was like the PCA video.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Crats was the guy you know down there by the
- 8:23Speaker 4: by the front row out there.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Screen that I know is not true because I never
- 8:28Speaker 2: sit near the front row. I'd much rather sit in
- 8:31Speaker 2: the second deck right behind home plate to be able
- 8:33Speaker 2: to see the whole field. But anyway, go ahead.
- 8:35Speaker 7: Yeah, No, I don't know. I don't know it was.
- 8:39Speaker 7: You know, it's a passionate fan base, you know. I
- 8:42Speaker 7: think you know, they when you win, best fans in
- 8:46Speaker 7: the world, and then if you're not doing well, they'll
- 8:49Speaker 7: let you know. So, uh, Cratsy if you were there,
- 8:52Speaker 7: you know, it's all good, dude, Nick.
- 8:57Speaker 6: What you know as a as a player that went
- 9:00Speaker 6: into Colorado, there was always some challenges obviously the altitude
- 9:04Speaker 6: and stuff.
- 9:04Speaker 5: The recovery.
- 9:05Speaker 6: Have you found it to be easier being a home
- 9:08Speaker 6: player there and you get to spend some more time there,
- 9:10Speaker 6: do you get acclimated to it a little bit more
- 9:12Speaker 6: and what have you kind of had to do in
- 9:15Speaker 6: terms of recovery or sleep or anything different.
- 9:19Speaker 7: Yeah, it's a challenge, you know, I think I think
- 9:22Speaker 7: being a home player there, you definitely get get the
- 9:24Speaker 7: advantage for the most part, as far as you know,
- 9:27Speaker 7: for most of the season, you're used to it. I
- 9:29Speaker 7: remember the first series I played there, or first home
- 9:31Speaker 7: stand I played there last year, and it didn't even
- 9:34Speaker 7: it didn't hit me till about the sixth game of
- 9:36Speaker 7: the homestand and you know, I think I scored from
- 9:38Speaker 7: first on a double and I took me for innings
- 9:40Speaker 7: to catch my breath, and I was like, Okay, you know,
- 9:42Speaker 7: this is a little different. But then when you come back,
- 9:45Speaker 7: it's you know, you get used to it. The sleep
- 9:47Speaker 7: definitely not as good. You know. I think we talk
- 9:51Speaker 7: about it in the clubhouse all the time, and it's like,
- 9:53Speaker 7: you know, we got to use that as as home
- 9:55Speaker 7: field advantage, you know, to the fullest extent in order
- 9:59Speaker 7: for us to to be successful. And you know, we
- 10:01Speaker 7: really got to take advantage of it, because I mean,
- 10:04Speaker 7: like you guys, know, you guys rolling to Colorado and
- 10:06Speaker 7: I did it as a visiting player, and I mean
- 10:08Speaker 7: that first day, shagg and fly balls in the outfield,
- 10:10Speaker 7: your gas, the balls flying over your head. You feel
- 10:12Speaker 7: like you're getting good jumps, but you know, it's it's
- 10:15Speaker 7: taken off. So you know, I think, uh, once you
- 10:19Speaker 7: get into the month of August, it catches up to
- 10:21Speaker 7: you a little bit, just like any you know, any year,
- 10:24Speaker 7: but you know, maybe a little bit extra. But you know,
- 10:26Speaker 7: once you get into September, you catch your second wind
- 10:29Speaker 7: and and it's all good.
- 10:32Speaker 4: But by the way, I got to say this, you're
- 10:34Speaker 4: giving us position player is a bad name. I hit
- 10:36Speaker 4: a triple. It took me three nings. That's what pitchers say, Mickey,
- 10:39Speaker 4: not not position.
- 10:40Speaker 7: But they're running the first base. They're running the first
- 10:43Speaker 7: going from first to home, you know what I mean.
- 10:45Speaker 4: So then you got to jug them, and then you
- 10:48Speaker 4: got to jog all the way out to the outfield.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I know KP already complained about how hard it was
- 10:52Speaker 4: to play the outfield in Colorado.
- 10:59Speaker 6: It wasn't just sure the outfielder in general. The jog
- 11:05Speaker 6: in and out just adds up. It's a lot of
- 11:08Speaker 6: mileage on the bottom over the course of a season.
- 11:10Speaker 5: You guys whole time and work on your swing.
- 11:13Speaker 6: You literally make your time, put your gear on, walk
- 11:16Speaker 6: out the home plate, sit on one knee. We're never
- 11:19Speaker 6: going to win this argument.
- 11:20Speaker 7: You got somebody else over there to you know, take
- 11:22Speaker 7: the warm up pitchers for you if you need to
- 11:24Speaker 7: catch your breathy.
- 11:25Speaker 5: So many times you.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Look out in the outfield have an outfielder like this
- 11:29Speaker 4: working on their swing.
- 11:30Speaker 7: Oh no, I've learned to keep your hand out of it.
- 11:33Speaker 7: Just to the lower half. No, just the lower half,
- 11:35Speaker 7: just hands out it. So you keep it a little,
- 11:37Speaker 7: you keep it more low key ridiculous.
- 11:40Speaker 4: I mean, if I had a dollar for every every
- 11:42Speaker 4: time I saw that, I'd be rich as hell. But uh,
- 11:45Speaker 4: by the way, you went from the Phillies, you went
- 11:47Speaker 4: to the Angels, and now you're at the Rockies.
- 11:49Speaker 5: What was it like? Because I know I talked to
- 11:51Speaker 5: Phil Nevin about you.
- 11:52Speaker 4: He absolutely loved working with you when he was the
- 11:54Speaker 4: manager of the Angels. What were the Angels like? Because
- 11:56Speaker 4: we talk about the Angels a lot and what's going
- 11:59Speaker 4: on there? What what was it like playing for the Angels?
- 12:03Speaker 7: I mean, first off, when I got traded there, I
- 12:06Speaker 7: mean I'm an hour away from home.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I grew up in San Diego, still live in San Diego.
- 12:11Speaker 7: So it was cool to be able to to kind
- 12:13Speaker 7: of have my family come up and you know, watch baseball.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Is fired up about that? You know, it's fired up.
- 12:18Speaker 7: To go get an opportunity to to kind of go play,
- 12:21Speaker 7: and I.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Mean playing for nev. Nev is the best I think.
- 12:25Speaker 7: You know, one of my favorite managers I've had in
- 12:27Speaker 7: this this sport. And you know, when he got let go,
- 12:30Speaker 7: it was it was a sad day. I think we
- 12:32Speaker 7: both shed a tear in his office. I went in
- 12:35Speaker 7: there to kind of say, hey, see in spring training
- 12:37Speaker 7: and you know that wasn't the case, and that was
- 12:39Speaker 7: a tough day. So, you know, still so bummed about
- 12:42Speaker 7: that one. But you know, it's just it's you got
- 12:47Speaker 7: guys over there. You know, they got talent, and you know,
- 12:52Speaker 7: I think it's, uh, it's one of those things where
- 12:56Speaker 7: you know, KP, you're over there. Guys were getting hurt.
- 12:59Speaker 7: Twenty twenty, it was like, you know, I think our
- 13:02Speaker 7: whole lineup missed at least a month.
- 13:04Speaker 3: You know, show Hey went down with the oblique, Mike with.
- 13:08Speaker 7: The handmate, Tony had had his shin fractured, his shin, Drew,
- 13:14Speaker 7: you go down, the whole thing. It was like a
- 13:15Speaker 7: whole month. So twenty twenty three, I felt like we
- 13:17Speaker 7: had a chance to really do something and you know,
- 13:19Speaker 7: we're buyers at the deadline, and uh, you know, we
- 13:23Speaker 7: obviously didn't work out due to I would say injury,
- 13:26Speaker 7: but you know, for me being close to home was awesome.
- 13:30Speaker 7: The fans they are great, you know, the the players,
- 13:34Speaker 7: the guys over there, you know, a good group of guys.
- 13:38Speaker 7: So yeah, I don't know it. Unfortunately it came to
- 13:42Speaker 7: an end, but you know, happy to be in Colorado.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I'm going to be like every other person that you
- 13:48Speaker 2: kind of know but don't really know. When talking about
- 13:51Speaker 2: the Angels, what was it like to play with Mike
- 13:54Speaker 2: and show hey, playing with Mike Trout and show hey,
- 13:57Speaker 2: Tani And what was your feeling when you were coming
- 14:01Speaker 2: there when you got you got traded there? Did you
- 14:03Speaker 2: get or did you get claimed by the Angels?
- 14:05Speaker 7: I should know traded traded?
- 14:07Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, deadline at twenty two.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I knew it was twenty two, and then you went there.
- 14:13Speaker 2: What was it like going there? Because that's the first
- 14:15Speaker 2: team you ever changed to, And anytime I ever changed
- 14:17Speaker 2: to a team that traded DFAD whatever it was, I
- 14:19Speaker 2: was like, oh, yeah, they got Christian yelliee. They got
- 14:24Speaker 2: Ryan Brawn on this team. Dang, I'm going to the Yankees.
- 14:27Speaker 2: You know, it's Judge's rookie year, like you think about that,
- 14:30Speaker 2: So how was it, how was your like, Oh, I
- 14:32Speaker 2: want to see these guys compared to the real life
- 14:36Speaker 2: Mike and Showhey.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Show, I mean, they're both just normal dudes, man.
- 14:42Speaker 7: I think, like the biggest thing, you know, Mike is
- 14:45Speaker 7: you know, one of the coolest dudes, nicest dudes. You know,
- 14:49Speaker 7: you you talk to him, and you know, you wouldn't
- 14:51Speaker 7: think he's you know, one of the greatest players of
- 14:53Speaker 7: our generation, just you know, by the way he goes
- 14:55Speaker 7: about his business and just the kind of person he is.
- 15:00Speaker 7: You know, if anything I needed, he was always there

- 16:45Speaker 6: Give me, give me your take on your current team.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Do you guys are you starting to see like the
- 16:51Speaker 6: pieces in place where the Rockies Maybe not this year,
- 16:56Speaker 6: but maybe next year. Do you guys believe that you
- 16:59Speaker 6: guys can go out and win a ton of games
- 17:01Speaker 6: and be kind of a threat uh in the al West?
- 17:05Speaker 7: Absolutely? Absolutely? I think you know, it starts from from
- 17:09Speaker 7: up top, Dude, I think we got the right guy,
- 17:12Speaker 7: you know, at the managerial job. I think you know
- 17:14Speaker 7: Schaefe is when he took over. I remember, you know,
- 17:17Speaker 7: coming into Colorado last year. I tell the story to
- 17:19Speaker 7: a lot of people. But the first day I was there,
- 17:21Speaker 7: just interacting with him, I you know, truly thought to myself,
- 17:25Speaker 7: I go, this guy needs to manage one day. And
- 17:27Speaker 7: you know, it was a month later. Obviously didn't see
- 17:31Speaker 7: it coming, didn't think it was gonna be that quick.
- 17:32Speaker 7: But when he took over, you know, if if, if
- 17:35Speaker 7: you guys ever get a chance to talk to him,
- 17:36Speaker 7: and he's the man, he's you know, bought in, he's
- 17:39Speaker 7: in it with us. You know, you walk in the
- 17:41Speaker 7: clubhouse at twelve o'clock every day. He's you know, bench
- 17:43Speaker 7: Presston two twenty five for ten as a warm up.
- 17:47Speaker 7: You know, he's in there. He's one of the boys,
- 17:49Speaker 7: good communicator. So I think when you got a guy
- 17:52Speaker 7: like that, it's uh, it's a it's a it's that's
- 17:56Speaker 7: the start. And then you know, obviously getting the right guys.
- 17:58Speaker 7: We've got a lot of young talent in this clubhouse.
- 18:02Speaker 7: You know, Depot in the front office has done a
- 18:04Speaker 7: good job bringing in some veteran guys too, you know,
- 18:07Speaker 7: kind of keep things steady in there, and you know,
- 18:10Speaker 7: kind of just teach guys, these young guys the ropes.
- 18:12Speaker 7: I mean, we got Q who's been doing it for
- 18:15Speaker 7: fifteen years. We've got Lorenzen, Uh, you know, Tomos Sugano
- 18:18Speaker 7: has been huge for us. You know, we got Willie
- 18:21Speaker 7: Castro coming in. We made some good trades picking up
- 18:24Speaker 7: Eddie and and stuff like that. So, I mean you're
- 18:28Speaker 7: seeing it on a daily basis. You know, we're obviously
- 18:32Speaker 7: in a better spot than we were last year. You know,
- 18:34Speaker 7: not hard to do, but I think just the games
- 18:37Speaker 7: we've been playing, even our losses, you know, you can
- 18:39Speaker 7: look at those and say you know, we were one
- 18:41Speaker 7: hit away here or one pitch away here from you know,
- 18:45Speaker 7: almost you know, being close to five hundred. And we
- 18:47Speaker 7: talk about it all the time. And I think that's
- 18:49Speaker 7: just the start, and you know, it's baseball, and I'm
- 18:52Speaker 7: just going to continue to try to build on it.
- 18:54Speaker 7: But I think I got high hopes for for this
- 18:56Speaker 7: organization in the coming years, and you know, I'm just
- 18:58Speaker 7: excited to.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Be a part of it. Mickey.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Uh, By the way, h Deep Podesta has a bunch
- 19:03Speaker 4: of Foul Territory shirts. If you need one, you can
- 19:06Speaker 4: get them. I hand delivered them like four in spring training.
- 19:08Speaker 4: So if you need one, uh, asking for one? Okay, perfect, Yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 4: I'll go find him for sure.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Okay, good, good, good answer. All right.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I gotta know about the spider situation. Are you afraid
- 19:19Speaker 4: of spiders? Your wife kills the spiders in your house? Like,
- 19:22Speaker 4: what's going on here?
- 19:24Speaker 5: Right here? Just killed another spider? Oh, what's going on?
- 19:27Speaker 7: She's that's all that's fake news, dude. That is no,
- 19:32Speaker 7: she is not. She was probably home alone there. It
- 19:34Speaker 7: looks like, yeah, I think I was. Probably she probably
- 19:38Speaker 7: was back in San Diego by herself. Didn't then have
- 19:40Speaker 7: anybody else to do it, but no, she uh, I
- 19:43Speaker 7: was proud of her for that one. That's that's that
- 19:45Speaker 7: was probably one of the three she's killed in their
- 19:48Speaker 7: whole life.
- 19:48Speaker 4: So and by the way, don't ever call your wife
- 19:51Speaker 4: a smoking hot cougar, because she is.
- 19:54Speaker 7: She's she's got three months on me, you know what
- 19:57Speaker 7: I mean, it's one of those things.
- 20:03Speaker 5: That's why she has.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, she's a killer. She's a killer. Somebody
- 20:09Speaker 2: somebody's gonna I mean, it's no, it's no cock. It's
- 20:12Speaker 2: no cock fighting with Edwin Diaz. But somebody's coming after
- 20:15Speaker 2: her for killing a spider. So just so you know,
- 20:17Speaker 2: just so she's ready for that smoke.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Yeah, she can handle it. She'll be all right, what.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Do you do? What do you do? What we haven't
- 20:24Speaker 2: had you on the show. You're you're freaking awesome. You're
- 20:27Speaker 2: a really nice guy. Seems like what do you do
- 20:30Speaker 2: in your free time? What what gets you to be like?
- 20:33Speaker 2: All right, good, I can step away from the field
- 20:35Speaker 2: to do this.
- 20:38Speaker 7: I mean, I got a dog, you know, he's he
- 20:42Speaker 7: takes up a lot of time. He's he's uh, he's
- 20:45Speaker 7: just a year old golden doodles. So you know.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I think in Colorado, we go.
- 20:50Speaker 7: We live by a place called wash Park, and I
- 20:53Speaker 7: feel like any free time I get, I'm just taking
- 20:55Speaker 7: him for a walk around the park and and just
- 20:56Speaker 7: kind of relaxing, you know, growing up and seeing Diego Go,
- 21:01Speaker 7: drive by the beach, go hang out at the beach.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Just relax, man.
- 21:05Speaker 7: I think, Uh, you know, this game, it's a high
- 21:08Speaker 7: stress game. Do it one hundred and sixty two times
- 21:10Speaker 7: a year, and and any chance you get to just
- 21:14Speaker 7: kind of turn the brain off and enjoy life is
- 21:18Speaker 7: uh That's just what I'm looking to do.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Does your dog ever look up at you and go,
- 21:23Speaker 2: why are we at such a high elevation?
- 21:27Speaker 7: Oh? I mean it's definitely when he runs up the stairs,
- 21:31Speaker 7: you know, he's I'll have oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 7: he's I mean he's just uh listen, if if there's
- 21:37Speaker 7: an intruder coming in the house, he's not doing much.
- 21:40Speaker 7: Let's put it that way.
- 21:41Speaker 3: So he's uh no, he's the best. He's a good boy.
- 21:46Speaker 6: Clearly what you clearly your wife will because we've we've
- 21:49Speaker 6: talked about this.
- 21:50Speaker 5: She she's the real protection in the.
- 21:52Speaker 7: House, not the dog exactly. Yeah, she'll uh you know,
- 21:57Speaker 7: give her one of these, and I go, Actually, my
- 21:59Speaker 7: screen says a little kid going like this to her dad. So, uh,
- 22:03Speaker 7: that's one of my favorites. She's definitely yeah, she's definitely
- 22:05Speaker 7: taking down the intruder.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Okay, all right, So the reason I said you're a
- 22:09Speaker 2: nice guy, I have this picture from last summer. You
- 22:12Speaker 2: probably didn't even know it was me, but I have
- 22:14Speaker 2: this picture from last summer. You were very willing to
- 22:18Speaker 2: take a picture. That's Mick in the middle at Fenway.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Remember you remember this, Okay, So I asked you to
- 22:24Speaker 2: take a picture, Okay, and all that it was. My
- 22:28Speaker 2: son's not in this picture, but it's all his. Uh,
- 22:31Speaker 2: it's his baseball team. They were up and they were
- 22:33Speaker 2: up in Boston having a game. We got on the field.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Blah blah blah. I had asked him. I had asked
- 22:39Speaker 2: the guys on the team. I was like, hey, ver
- 22:41Speaker 2: Tech had come over. I was like, hey, you guys
- 22:43Speaker 2: want to meet Jason Vertek and they were like, I
- 22:46Speaker 2: don't know who that is. And then they said and
- 22:48Speaker 2: then Liam Liam Hendricks came over, who was rehabbing for
- 22:52Speaker 2: the Red Sox, said hey, you guys know the mate.
- 22:55Speaker 2: You guys know Liam Hendricks, you know, they were like, ah,
- 22:58Speaker 2: I really don't know. It's about bunch of kids from Philly,
- 23:01Speaker 2: Northern Philly, and you came out to hit BP after
- 23:06Speaker 2: we watched all the Red Sox guys come through everybody
- 23:10Speaker 2: and they were like whoa, They were like makeemoniac, Oh
- 23:14Speaker 2: my gosh. And so I asked you to come over
- 23:17Speaker 2: and you took a picture. So I really appreciate you
- 23:19Speaker 2: taking that picture, and it's cool that you remember it.
- 23:23Speaker 2: But I have another picture that I need you to
- 23:25Speaker 2: make sure. This is what I do as a veteran
- 23:27Speaker 2: guy to call you out. Do you see your toes there?
- 23:30Speaker 2: That's me, your toes in the black shoes.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Listen, Hey, you guys are big.
- 23:36Speaker 7: I don't know what you're feeding these kids these days,
- 23:38Speaker 7: but you know, kids are throwing ninety five when they're
- 23:41Speaker 7: thirteen now and apparently you know six six two at
- 23:46Speaker 7: however old those your kids are. So look, I got
- 23:49Speaker 7: I got no defense for that. That's I gotta you know.
- 23:52Speaker 7: It's either that or I'm you know, just sneaking my
- 23:54Speaker 7: head around the side. Then you don't know who the
- 23:56Speaker 7: hell is in the picture.
- 23:58Speaker 2: For the people who are listening, people listening. It's a
- 24:01Speaker 2: picture of Mickey standing behind all the sixteen year old
- 24:04Speaker 2: fifteen and sixteen year old boys and mix on his
- 24:07Speaker 2: toes so that he looks like he's the tallest in
- 24:09Speaker 2: the group. I appreciate you coming over.
- 24:12Speaker 7: I'm not even over look I'm still the chins, still
- 24:16Speaker 7: at the head level right there, and that's on the
- 24:18Speaker 7: tippy toes.
- 24:20Speaker 2: There's some big boys. There's some big boys.
- 24:22Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 2: But that's awesome for anybody who doesn't know, coming over
- 24:28Speaker 2: during VP and taking pictures with fans is not mandated.
- 24:32Speaker 2: And you did it with a smile, and you made
- 24:35Speaker 2: their entire tournament. So I appreciate that. That's awesome. Best
- 24:39Speaker 2: of luck to those guys. They're doing all right, they're
- 24:41Speaker 2: still doing it. They're really good. I don't coach him.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I'm just like it. I'm just like the dad that
- 24:45Speaker 2: gets to drive him around. So they don't need any coaching.
- 24:48Speaker 2: They're all like. There's like four or five Division I
- 24:50Speaker 2: guys out of there, so it's no Florida teams. But
- 24:54Speaker 2: for for Pennsylvania kids, they're they're a pretty good team.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Now, that's legit. That's awesome.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Made Mickey before we thank you for coming on. I
- 25:04Speaker 4: have to I have to ask you if you know this.
- 25:05Speaker 4: You probably don't even know this story, but it's one
- 25:07Speaker 4: of my all time favorite stories. So my agent is
- 25:10Speaker 4: from San Diego and his kids went to LaCosta Canyon
- 25:15Speaker 4: with you, and they were telling him. They're like, there's
- 25:18Speaker 4: this kid at our school, Dad, you really should try
- 25:20Speaker 4: to get him. He's going to be a high draffic
- 25:23Speaker 4: and he says, ah, what are you guys talking about.
- 25:25Speaker 4: I don't even know what you're talking about. And then
- 25:27Speaker 4: you went and their name were Courtney and Stephanie Hilliard.
- 25:29Speaker 4: I don't know if you remember him or know him
- 25:31Speaker 4: or anything, but they were there at the same time.
- 25:33Speaker 4: You were too probably too big league for him. They
- 25:34Speaker 4: played soccer. You were too big before him, so you know,
- 25:37Speaker 4: no big deal. We get it, okay, But and then
- 25:40Speaker 4: you end up going one to one and he just says, man,
- 25:43Speaker 4: I totally should have listened to my daughters. I just
- 25:45Speaker 4: thought they were starstruck because you know, this kid, he's
- 25:48Speaker 4: at there high school and they know him. But that's
- 25:51Speaker 4: my one story that I knew about you before I
- 25:53Speaker 4: got to talk.
- 25:53Speaker 5: To you today. So it was really nice to talk
- 25:55Speaker 5: to you.
- 25:55Speaker 4: But so apparently you're not as big of a prick
- 25:57Speaker 4: as they said you were, because you know you didn't
- 25:59Speaker 4: you and speak to him, and now you don't even
- 26:01Speaker 4: remember them. So thanks for being a good guy.
- 26:03Speaker 7: They staid, if I get if I get a picture, Look,
- 26:06Speaker 7: I'm not good with names. Let's let's start there.
- 26:08Speaker 3: So but if I see you know, I'm gooding with faces.
- 26:11Speaker 7: So okay, I remember tell.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Don't send pictures of high school girls. Yeah, man, sorry, no, no, no,
- 26:20Speaker 2: I'm not saying any picture.
- 26:22Speaker 5: I don't want that killer after me.
- 26:25Speaker 7: The flip side to that is, I mean your agent
- 26:27Speaker 7: probably saw me. I was probably one hundred and sixty pounds,
- 26:29Speaker 7: so I wouldn't have thought much either, you know what
- 26:32Speaker 7: I mean?
- 26:32Speaker 5: So you go go one to one, so I mean something.
- 26:37Speaker 7: It was one of those looking up at thiscoreboard, you know,
- 26:39Speaker 7: one hundred and eighty five pound six one at it
- 26:43Speaker 7: a little about fifteen, wore the baggy jersey, one of
- 26:46Speaker 7: those six, So get hit a little bit. That's that's
- 26:50Speaker 7: about it.
- 26:51Speaker 5: It's working out for you. It's working out for you.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Make it.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Thank you very much for joining us. You're an awesome guest.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Good job.
- 26:56Speaker 7: KP.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Reeling them in for us. And remember, kids, when you're
- 27:00Speaker 5: you're shorter than the sixteen year olds in front of you.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Stand on your tiptoes, get.
- 27:04Speaker 7: On the tippy test. Okaype, we'll talk.
- 27:06Speaker 3: We'll talk fantasy soon.
- 27:07Speaker 7: Appreciate you guys. Yeah, this is awesome.
