- 1:17Speaker 2: Welcome to your meditative prayer on fighting anxiety. To get
- 1:20Speaker 2: the most out of your spiritual journey, use Pray.com every
- 1:23Speaker 2: day and make prayer a priority in your life. Our
- 1:27Speaker 2: goal again for today's meditative prayer is fighting anxiety. So
- 1:32Speaker 2: take a second, just try to slow down. Sit on
- 1:36Speaker 2: your favorite chair, on your bed, or wherever you feel
- 1:39Speaker 2: the most comfortable. Grab a warm blanket or a soft
- 1:43Speaker 2: pillow to hug if you'd like. And once you're able
- 1:46Speaker 2: to relax, turn your thoughts toward what God has for
- 1:50Speaker 2: you today. This morning we'll be meditating on Matthew 6,
- 1:54Speaker 2: 34 from the King James Version. It reads, Take therefore
- 1:58Speaker 2: no thought for the morrow, For the morrow shall take
- 2:01Speaker 2: thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day
- 2:06Speaker 2: is the evil thereof. Now take a moment to just
- 2:10Speaker 2: pour out your adoration unto God. God, I worship you,
- 2:15Speaker 2: for you are power. I exalt you, for you live
- 2:19Speaker 2: outside the continuum of time. By your will and design,
- 2:24Speaker 2: time was created. You determine time's parameters. and gave meaning
- 2:29Speaker 2: to the changing of the seasons. You taught humanity how
- 2:33Speaker 2: to gauge its passage through the yielding of day to night.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Who is like you, O Lord Most High? Your power
- 2:41Speaker 2: is infinite, unsearchable, and unmeasurable. You alone are worthy to
- 2:46Speaker 2: be praised. You guys, life is to be lived one
- 2:49Speaker 2: day at a time. This mentality can be challenging for
- 2:53Speaker 2: so many reasons, though. Overwhelmed by daily problems and pressing matters,
- 2:59Speaker 2: some become catatonic and consumed with worry. Others become obsessed
- 3:03Speaker 2: over control and with guessing what comes next. Reigning in
- 3:07Speaker 2: unchecked ambition and drive while avoiding apathy and carelessness can
- 3:12Speaker 2: feel like playing a game of Russian roulette. The odds
- 3:16Speaker 2: are not favorable, and there's no chance for control or
- 3:19Speaker 2: guarantee of outcome. But regardless of which side of the
- 3:23Speaker 2: spectrum you land on, you must rely on the help
- 3:26Speaker 2: of the Holy Spirit to survive. Take a moment to
- 3:31Speaker 2: reflect on your current behavior. Examine the areas keeping you
- 3:36Speaker 2: from applying this mindset to your life. Confess them to God.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Place your anxieties in His hand. Now consider for a
- 3:46Speaker 2: moment God's mercies in your life and thank Him for it.
- 3:50Speaker 2: God's love for you has never and will never fail.
- 3:55Speaker 2: His mercies over you renew every morning. Thank God that
- 4:00Speaker 2: you are not bound to anxiety, but you are free
- 4:03Speaker 2: to live in the moment of each day. Thank God
- 4:07Speaker 2: for past situations while he alleviated your concerns for the future.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Thank God because he is good and he will always
- 4:16Speaker 2: be good. Thank God for his mercies, which allow and
- 4:20Speaker 2: enable you to live each day as it comes. God
- 4:24Speaker 2: is present and he is listening to you. Never forget,
- 4:30Speaker 2: God wants you not just to exist, but to live
- 4:35Speaker 2: and to enjoy life and to enjoy to its fullest potential.
- 4:40Speaker 2: The Bible warns that worry is futile because each day
- 4:43Speaker 2: will hold its own challenges. So reach out to God
- 4:48Speaker 2: for his peace. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you
- 4:51Speaker 2: walk your journey one step at a time Ask Him
- 4:55Speaker 2: to help you leave tomorrow's struggles to its own day.
- 4:59Speaker 2: And remember, do not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will
- 5:04Speaker 2: worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
- 5:10Speaker 2: By living life day to day, you will be better
- 5:13Speaker 2: equipped to handle whatever comes your way. Be encouraged. You're
- 5:17Speaker 2: not alone in this mission. You have God's Holy Spirit
- 5:21Speaker 2: to help you and to guide you. And remember, He'll
- 5:25Speaker 2: never leave you nor abandon you. You can do this.
