• 2:28
  Speaker 3: starts right now.
• 2:30
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 2:31
Speaker 3: The Department of Justice has now launched a federal civil
• 2:36
Speaker 3: rights investigation to Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: Now you need to remember that name.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: This is one of the prized Soros das. And now
• 2:50
Speaker 3: what we're learning is a Fairfax County DA did everything
• 2:54
Speaker 3: they could do to protect illegal immigrants. The allegations are
• 3:00
Speaker 3: truly explosive. Federal investigators now say they're examining whether one
• 3:05
Speaker 3: of the most powerful progressive prosecutors in Virginia was deliberately
• 3:11
Speaker 3: giving preferential treatment to illegal immigrants accused of violent crimes
• 3:16
Speaker 3: against American citizens and the victims, well, you guessed.
• 3:20
Speaker 1: It, they were left behind.
• 3:22
Speaker 3: Now, this is the DOJ's Civil Rights Division that's stepping
• 3:26
Speaker 3: in and saying they want to determine whether the man's
• 3:29
Speaker 3: office violated federal law by allegedly offering preferential treatment only
• 3:35
Speaker 3: to illegal alien criminal defendants. I want to say that
• 3:39
Speaker 3: again an activist DA, and the Civil Rights Division is
• 3:43
Speaker 3: now looking into Scano's office saying, it looks like you
• 3:47
Speaker 3: were only offering preferential treatment to illegal immigrants non American
• 3:52
Speaker 3: citizens if you are a criminal defendant. This is what
• 3:57
Speaker 3: happens when you allow activist das to take over. And
• 4:01
Speaker 3: this is exactly what the Democrats and George Soros wanted
• 4:05
Speaker 3: and what they paid for. Now, let me go into
• 4:08
Speaker 3: exactly what's being alleged here. The Justice Department is saying
• 4:12
Speaker 3: that in Fairfax County, it was pretty clear that those
• 4:17
Speaker 3: that had illegal immigrant status who committed crimes and they
• 4:22
Speaker 3: were defendants were given preferential treatment. The DOJ goes on
• 4:27
Speaker 3: to say it is specifically investigating plea bargains. That's how
• 4:31
Speaker 3: they were hooking up the illegal immigrants. Charging decisions as
• 4:35
Speaker 3: well and sentencing recommendations coming out of Descano's office at
• 4:41
Speaker 3: the center of the controversy, as a policy reportedly adopted
• 4:45
Speaker 3: in twenty twenty directing prosecutors to consider the quote immigration
• 4:51
Speaker 3: consequences that defendants could face, including deportation, when deciding how aggressively.
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: To prosecute cases.
• 5:01
Speaker 3: So, to be clear, in translation, you had an office
• 5:05
Speaker 3: that said, hey, if you're an illegal immigrant, we're going
• 5:08
Speaker 3: to go easier on you than an American citizen because
• 5:13
Speaker 3: we don't want you to be deported. We want to
• 5:15
Speaker 3: make sure that we can go easier on you, so
• 5:18
Speaker 3: that it's well, easier for you to stay in the
• 5:21
Speaker 3: United States of America. Yes, this is absolutely insane, but
• 5:26
Speaker 3: this is exactly what you should expect from activist Das. Now,
• 5:30
Speaker 3: the DOJ also is specifically investigating the plea bargains that
• 5:35
Speaker 3: were given as well, saying that they were clearly given
• 5:38
Speaker 3: outside the guidelines that other American citizens were having to
• 5:42
Speaker 3: play by. So imagine you commit a crime. Imagine you're
• 5:45
Speaker 3: an American citizen. Imagine you get years in jail, and
• 5:50
Speaker 3: then you find out someone else does the same exact crime,
• 5:53
Speaker 3: but they're different because they broke into the United States
• 5:57
Speaker 3: of America. And when they broke in, well, we didn't
• 6:00
Speaker 3: want to get them out of this country. We didn't
• 6:02
Speaker 3: want to deport them. So instead we gave them a
• 6:05
Speaker 3: deal that offered them maybe even no jail time at all,
• 6:10
Speaker 3: or a plea bargain that allowed them to walk free
• 6:12
Speaker 3: that day while you're in jail. That is exactly what
• 6:16
Speaker 3: the Department of Justice is now saying. Now, let me
• 6:18
Speaker 3: also be very clear about this as well. Every defendant
• 6:23
Speaker 3: deserves constitutional protections, every person deserves due process.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: That's what the DOJ said.
• 6:30
Speaker 3: But the question now being raised by the Department of
• 6:32
Speaker 3: justice whether Fairfax County crossed a massive line from equal
• 6:37
Speaker 3: justice under the law into a two tier justice system
• 6:41
Speaker 3: that held Americans accountable while allowing illegal immigrants to walk free.
• 6:46
Speaker 3: And that is where Americans should become furious, especially at
• 6:51
Speaker 3: George Soros and the Democratic Party. If two people commit
• 6:55
Speaker 3: the same violent crime, the DJ says, but prosecutors intentionally
• 6:59
Speaker 3: go easier on one defendant because they're in the country
• 7:02
Speaker 3: illegally and might face deportation. Many Americans hear this and say,
• 7:08
Speaker 3: wait a second, how is that fair to a citizen?
• 7:11
Speaker 3: How is that also fair to the victims? The Assistant
• 7:15
Speaker 3: Attorney General made the administration's position crystal clear when she said, quote,
• 7:20
Speaker 3: under my leadership, the Civil Rights Division will not allow
• 7:23
Speaker 3: local prosecutors to pick and choose winners based on their
• 7:28
Speaker 3: immigration status. Now, this is a remarkable statement, by the way,
• 7:32
Speaker 3: coming from the federal government. And that's what's making this
• 7:36
Speaker 3: story even more politically explosive. Are the violent crimes that
• 7:40
Speaker 3: are now being connected to the policies of this activist
• 7:45
Speaker 3: DA Let me give you an example. One case that
• 7:49
Speaker 3: you need to know about is the murder of Stephanie Mintor,
• 7:53
Speaker 3: a Virginia woman. She was stabbed to death at a
• 7:56
Speaker 3: Fairfax County bus stop earlier this year. Suspect was reportedly
• 8:01
Speaker 3: in the country illegally also had a lengthy criminal history,
• 8:06
Speaker 3: including more than thirty arrests. This according to the Department
• 8:11
Speaker 3: of Homeland Security information that's been cited in the reports. Now,
• 8:16
Speaker 3: they argue that progressive prosecutors and sanctuary style policies repeatedly
• 8:21
Speaker 3: allowed this dangerous individual to be arrested more than thirty
• 8:25
Speaker 3: times and cycled through the system without meaningful consequences until
• 8:30
Speaker 3: the American paid the ultimate price, being murdered. Another case,
• 8:35
Speaker 3: by the way, that the DOJ is pointing to as well,
• 8:38
Speaker 3: that has sparked outrage involved two undocumented migrants that were
• 8:43
Speaker 3: convicted in the mob killing of Hernandez Gonzales. They ultimately
• 8:49
Speaker 3: received plea agreements that resulted in just five years behind
• 8:53
Speaker 3: bars after much of their sentences were suspended. Descano's office
• 8:58
Speaker 3: defended the deal by citing evidentiary challenges and witness cooperation issues,
• 9:04
Speaker 3: but critics blasted the punishment is absurd and lenient for
• 9:09
Speaker 3: such a horrific crime of a mob killing, and those
• 9:12
Speaker 3: aren't isolated examples either. The DOJ is reportedly examining whether
• 9:17
Speaker 3: it is a broader pattern or even a practice of
• 9:21
Speaker 3: a discriminatory prosecutor conduct where illegal immigrants always were getting
• 9:26
Speaker 3: the deal. Now it's important language legally because it suggests
• 9:30
Speaker 3: that federal officials may be looking beyond one or two
• 9:34
Speaker 3: controversial plea deals and asking whether this was an institutional
• 9:39
Speaker 3: policy altogether. Now, politically, the story hits directly one of
• 9:43
Speaker 3: the biggest national debates in this country, and that is
• 9:47
Speaker 3: exactly why Donald Trump was elected. The President made it
• 9:50
Speaker 3: clear he was going to go after the illegal immigrants.
• 9:53
Speaker 3: Democrats have made it clear they will protect them at
• 9:55
Speaker 3: all costs. And over the last decade we've seen a
• 9:58
Speaker 3: wave of left wing executors that have been backed by
• 10:01
Speaker 3: activist money that has transformed criminal justice policy in major
• 10:06
Speaker 3: jurisdictions across the US. This guy, Steve Disconano, became one
• 10:11
Speaker 3: of the most recognizable figures in that movement after winning
• 10:16
Speaker 3: office in twenty nineteen. He had substantial support from groups
• 10:20
Speaker 3: tied to the billionaire donor George Soros. Now, the philosophy
• 10:24
Speaker 3: behind many of these prosecutors focus on reducing incarceration, eliminating
• 10:29
Speaker 3: cash bell, lowering penalties for certain crimes, and emphasizing quote
• 10:34
  Speaker 3: alternatives to prosecution.
• 10:37
Speaker 1: Supporters they called it reform.
• 10:40
Speaker 3: Critics they called it anarchy, and it was surrendering and
• 10:44
Speaker 3: bowing down to the criminals. Well, now the federal government
• 10:47
Speaker 3: is effectively saying, did some of these reforms go so
• 10:50
Speaker 3: far that prosecutors deliberately were discriminating against American citizens? That
• 10:58
Speaker 3: is the heart of the question of this entire investigation.
• 11:01
Speaker 3: Now there's also another major political wrinkle here, and it
• 11:04
Speaker 3: comes as Fairfax County officials are preparing to testify before
• 11:08
Speaker 3: Congress at a hearing that is now titled Fairfax County
• 11:12
Speaker 3: Virginia The Dangerous Consequences of Sanctuary Policies. That means that
• 11:17
Speaker 3: this story is no longer just local Virginia politics. This
• 11:20
Speaker 3: is now a national immigration in public safety fight. Republicans
• 11:25
Speaker 3: are already framing Fairfax County as a symbol of what
• 11:29
Speaker 3: happens when ideology overrides law enforcement. They argue that local
• 11:34
Speaker 3: leaders became so obsessed with shielding illegal immigrants from deportation
• 11:39
Speaker 3: that they compromise public safety in the process. Countless times
• 11:44
Speaker 3: in Democrats while they're firing back, of course, accusing the
• 11:47
Speaker 3: Trump doj of weaponizing federal power they say, against progressive
• 11:52
Speaker 3: prosecutors for political purpose. Now that's going to become a
• 11:56
Speaker 3: major national argument moving forward, and this will be a
• 11:59
Speaker 3: national story. But politically, the optics here are devastating for
• 12:04
Speaker 3: the Democrats because the DOJ didn't open this investigation over
• 12:08
Speaker 3: parking tickets or minor prosecutor disagreements. They opened it over
• 12:13
Speaker 3: allegations involving violent criminals, homicide cases, assault allegations, and questions
• 12:21
Speaker 3: about whether prosecutors intentionally deliberately reduced immigration consequences for illegal
• 12:28
Speaker 3: immigrants accused of major and serious crimes, including murder. Now,
• 12:34
Speaker 3: for millions of Americans listening to this right now, it's
• 12:37
Speaker 3: a simple story. Why honors should immigrants and immigration status
• 12:44
Speaker 3: ever result in lighter treatment for violent offenders just because
• 12:48
Speaker 3: you're here illegally? Why should American citizens believe the justice
• 12:53
Speaker 3: system treats them equally if prosecutors deliberately are instructed to
• 12:58
Speaker 3: weigh deportation concerns be for seeking punishment for crimes have
• 13:02
Speaker 3: been committed, And perhaps more importantly than that, how many
• 13:06
Speaker 3: tragedies could have been prevented if dangerous repeat offenders had
• 13:12
Speaker 3: been prosecuted the way the laws said they should have
• 13:15
Speaker 3: been prosecuted from the very start, or in other words,
• 13:18
Speaker 3: is the way that American citizens would have been prosecuted
• 13:21
Speaker 3: from the very beginning.
• 13:23
Speaker 1: Now, Democrats are going to fight back.
• 13:26
Speaker 3: They're going to say that these policies were fair and
• 13:29
Speaker 3: legal and reflect the values of their community. It doesn't
• 13:33
Speaker 3: mean that you get to give preferential treatment to illegal immigrants,
• 13:36
Speaker 3: which brings us back to this. The DOJ ultimately concluded
• 13:41
Speaker 3: that immigration status was used to systematically alter prosecutoral decisions
• 13:48
Speaker 3: in a discriminatory way against every American citizen. Now, this
• 13:53
Speaker 3: case could easily become one of the most consequential legal
• 13:57
Speaker 3: and political fights over immigration and criminal justice in decades.
• 14:02
Speaker 3: And really this is why Americans need to pay attention,
• 14:05
Speaker 3: because what the Trump administration is doing now is saying
• 14:08
Speaker 3: that Americans shouldn't be put behind illegal immigrants ever, and
• 14:13
Speaker 3: certainly illegal immigrants shouldn't be able to get away from
• 14:16
Speaker 3: justice because some woke activist Democrat says, we don't want
• 14:20
Speaker 3: them to be deported.
