- 0:22Speaker 2: Welcome to Revealing Wholeness podcast dedicated to revealing the profound
- 0:26Speaker 2: connections between body, mind, and spirit, where we believe that
- 0:29Speaker 2: true wellness arises from addressing the root causes of our
- 0:32Speaker 2: health challenges, not just masking the symptoms. Here we dive
- 0:35Speaker 2: deep into how holistic approaches such as advanced chiropractic care,
- 0:39Speaker 2: personalized nutrition, and natural healing practices can transform your life.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Now Here is doctor Troy.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Hello and welcome. I'm doctor Troy. Recently, I've had a
- 0:56Speaker 3: client call up that's been with me a long time
- 0:58Speaker 3: and they're ten year old is not doing so well,
- 1:02Speaker 3: they said, And they went to an MD and the
- 1:04Speaker 3: MD saw that they were low on iron, and they
- 1:06Speaker 3: called me up because they do know that, Hey, we
- 1:09Speaker 3: want to put them on just not any willy nilly
- 1:12Speaker 3: iron supplement, but rather something that's going to be absorbed
- 1:15Speaker 3: something that's actually going to work, and so they asked
- 1:18Speaker 3: my team for recommentation. And when my team came to me,
- 1:21Speaker 3: I said, nah, I definitely want to speak to this individual.
- 1:23Speaker 3: And so we had a conversation and I asked questions
- 1:27Speaker 3: because just to put a child that's ten on an
- 1:31Speaker 3: iron supplement is not a great idea without a lot
- 1:37Speaker 3: of digging. And while an MD might do a blood
- 1:41Speaker 3: test and say, wow, hey, I see your child looks pale.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I see their fingernails look pale, their tongue looks pale,
- 1:48Speaker 3: which they probably didn't actually say or look at, but
- 1:51Speaker 3: maybe they did, and we need to put them on iron.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Well that's definitely a possibility. But my question now is
- 1:59Speaker 3: when was the last time had a pretty significant infection?
- 2:01Speaker 3: And are they run down? Are they tired? Are they
- 2:04Speaker 3: sleeping a lot? And what's their digestive system like do
- 2:08Speaker 3: they complain about bowel issues? Do they have stomach pain?
- 2:12Speaker 3: Are they very picky? And so once we start going
- 2:15Speaker 3: through all these individual symptoms, we start realizing, hey, I
- 2:18Speaker 3: think what's more so going on here is you have
- 2:20Speaker 3: a fairly good infection going on and the body is
- 2:24Speaker 3: sequestering iron out of the system to try and help,
- 2:27Speaker 3: because iron makes colds worse. If you will, iron will
- 2:32Speaker 3: feed an infection. And so the body is smart enough
- 2:34Speaker 3: to say, hey, if I don't have vitamin C in
- 2:36Speaker 3: terms of copper, I am not going to allow much
- 2:40Speaker 3: iron into the blood. And so then the client doesn't
- 2:43Speaker 3: feel so good. It maybe even compromises digestion or they
- 2:47Speaker 3: already had a compromised digestion. And so we want to
- 2:50Speaker 3: go after things like, hey, let's get some fermented foods,
- 2:54Speaker 3: Let's get some you know, stomach support, some digestion, because
- 2:58Speaker 3: to absorb iron requires a significant potency in the digestive system.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And so Rapplesider vinegar, and they did tell me that, hey,
- 3:07Speaker 3: he likes kombucha, Great, let's do that. And let's see
- 3:10Speaker 3: if we can add some rapple Sider vinegar, maybe even
- 3:13Speaker 3: some raw honey which will have natural vitamin C which
- 3:16Speaker 3: would even help with infection. And so one of the
- 3:18Speaker 3: iron supplements that I'll do with folks has both iron
- 3:21Speaker 3: and copper in form of vitamin C or whole food
- 3:24Speaker 3: vitamin C, because you absolutely need to have a good
- 3:29Speaker 3: copper source if you're going to absorb iron well and
- 3:32Speaker 3: do it well. And so those are ideas for any
- 3:35Speaker 3: of you out there that are perhaps looking at a
- 3:38Speaker 3: child that why does my child look so pale? Or
- 3:41Speaker 3: perhaps you're an MD or chiropractor, an hpath and are like, hey,
- 3:45Speaker 3: it's a good reminder. That's probably awesome that I recognize
- 3:49Speaker 3: that if I have a child in that is pretty
- 3:51Speaker 3: sick or at least is low on iron, that I
- 3:54Speaker 3: should probably ask myself why would the body be pulling
- 3:57Speaker 3: iron out? Why would a sequestrate? And we could jump
- 4:00Speaker 3: on zinc for the immune system. We could jump on
- 4:02Speaker 3: a lot of things and we wouldn't be wrong. And
- 4:04Speaker 3: so but first and foremost, I'm going to be looking at, hey,
- 4:08Speaker 3: where is your whole food vitamin C coming from? Where
- 4:12Speaker 3: is your digestive support? What's happened to the child lately?
- 4:16Speaker 3: I mean, there's many many roads to go down, but
- 4:19Speaker 3: general nutrition speaking, if you have a fairly good diet,
- 4:22Speaker 3: which this child does, then there's just a few things
- 4:26Speaker 3: that need to be altered. But if we've got somebody
- 4:28Speaker 3: who's you know, eating McDonald's, not taking very good care
- 4:32Speaker 3: of themselves, maybe they eat candy a lot and they
- 4:34Speaker 3: put up a big fuss, and so the parents don't
- 4:36Speaker 3: know what else to do, so they're going to feed
- 4:38Speaker 3: them something. Because as parents we want to do something.
- 4:41Speaker 3: We now we just can't have a child that's not
- 4:42Speaker 3: going to eat, and so we do the best we
- 4:44Speaker 3: can as parents. But at the end of the day,
- 4:45Speaker 3: it's it's like, Okay, I've got a really sick kid,
- 4:48Speaker 3: what would you like? And that's where I love in,
- 4:51Speaker 3: you know, instilling the child in the decision making process.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Too done the right way, children will often make the
- 4:58Speaker 3: right decision, and it just requires a little coaxing or
- 5:03Speaker 3: at least a little bit of understanding on a parent's
- 5:06Speaker 3: side to say, hey, how can I word this as
- 5:09Speaker 3: good as possible? And like the story that I've given
- 5:12Speaker 3: for my own daughter when she was twelve and she
- 5:14Speaker 3: didn't want eat vegetables, I said, you know, I get it,
- 5:16Speaker 3: you don't wanty vegetables. But I just want you to
- 5:18Speaker 3: know that you've been sick a lot more lately, and
- 5:22Speaker 3: if you get sick, but we're all planning to go
- 5:25Speaker 3: do something, you will stay home. I will not ruin
- 5:28Speaker 3: my time because of your decision to not eat your
- 5:32Speaker 3: vegetables and take care of your body. That was the
- 5:35Speaker 3: last time I had to have a conversation with her.
- 5:37Speaker 3: She had all of her vegetables after that, and she
- 5:38Speaker 3: has a very colectic palette today. You know, she's in
- 5:41Speaker 3: her twenties and she's getting married, you know. So it
- 5:44Speaker 3: just takes a little bit of wording sometimes and sometimes
- 5:47Speaker 3: it takes a few opportunities, but eventually the child will
- 5:51Speaker 3: come around as long as you stand your ground as
- 5:56Speaker 3: a parent. That sometimes is daunting, but it can be done,
- 5:59Speaker 3: and you can do this. I have complete faith in you.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Until next time. I hope this hell phone and I'm
- 6:04Speaker 3: doctor Troy, and remember there is way more right with
- 6:07Speaker 3: you and your children than there is wrong with you.
