- 1:01Speaker 1: Doesn't pay attention to this some guy.
- 1:03Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, I didn't say that he knew who you were. Well,
- 1:07Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:09Speaker 1: He also used chat GPT to analyze the hosts. Oh god,
- 1:15Speaker 1: this is the one I have a problem with. Jet
- 1:17Speaker 1: chat cheept. Eric Scalavina appreciate it for his attention to
- 1:22Speaker 1: detail and his commitment to providing accurate information. Accurate information.
- 1:28Speaker 1: How many times did he come off like he was
- 1:30Speaker 1: and then we would look it up.
- 1:31Speaker 5: And no, that's not it.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Remember that we are killing the Patriots. Shannon Sharp. I
- 1:37Speaker 4: was so mad after that day, and I was an adult.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I was so mad.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It a sippy cup across the room.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yeah, Google guy.
- 1:45Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:47Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:51Speaker 6: dot com.
- 1:54Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:57Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium. Gotta hurry, Yeah, this is the for us.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It's the Hey in the Barn day. So we're going
- 2:04Speaker 1: to wrap up our look ahead to the Washington Commanders,
- 2:09Speaker 1: whatever's remaining of that team after all their trading. And
- 2:13Speaker 1: you had a good question though in your round up today,
- 2:15Speaker 1: Thanks about you know what the focus might be for
- 2:20Speaker 1: you know, both teams. Yeah, so you know, maybe we
- 2:23Speaker 1: can get into that, but you know, it's it's.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Like a couple of weeks ago, you got.
- 2:31Speaker 1: A couple of weeks of good It's pretty obvious that
- 2:34Speaker 1: the commanders are look into the future. Yeah, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: so the future is now for Washington.
- 2:40Speaker 7: Although I I I saw what's his face, Sweat saying
- 2:43Speaker 7: I'm going to see how it goes here in Chicago,
- 2:45Speaker 7: so I.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Know we kind of got into that a little bit.
- 2:47Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, yeah, Ryan Poles.
- 2:51Speaker 5: He wants said someone but Atlanta. He wanted to go
- 2:53Speaker 5: to Atlanta.
- 2:53Speaker 4: No, no green bananas for Ryan Poles.
- 2:56Speaker 7: What are you doing if you're Chicago though, logal like
- 2:58Speaker 7: you're you're just yeah, there's a lot of stuff going
- 3:01Speaker 7: around the league, I mean Chicago, Arizona.
- 3:05Speaker 1: There's an investigation going on and treatment of people from
- 3:10Speaker 1: the owners missed this from the ownership level.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Yeah, a matter of time before they get you.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Freddy.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I don't agree with the Chicago thing, the hysteria against
- 3:20Speaker 3: what Chicago is doing. Yeah, because I don't like Montes.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Sweat is not going to win them games single handedly.
- 3:25Speaker 3: He's not that good.
- 3:26Speaker 4: But why are they giving away high draft picks if
- 3:28Speaker 4: you're not going to be because it's a good player.
- 3:30Speaker 7: Well yeah, so so we'll have some fun for a
- 3:32Speaker 7: couple of months and then we'll go our separate ways.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Right, No, No, I mean you got to keep them.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Obvious plan is to just to keep them.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Oh okay, then we're all on the same page. Then yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 3: I just see a lot of people that are like,
- 3:43Speaker 3: what do they do and it's like, well, they're getting
- 3:45Speaker 3: good players, right, they're getting talented.
- 3:47Speaker 1: If you if you retain him, then it's a good move.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And that's what you use draft picks for, right to
- 3:51Speaker 1: get good play.
- 3:52Speaker 3: And I would argue be as good as Montes sweat.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Maybe if you're gonna blow him away with a contract,
- 3:57Speaker 4: don't give up a second round pick for him. Just
- 3:58Speaker 4: wait eight weeks and then you can sign them.
- 4:00Speaker 1: But then you're aren't you competing with other teams at
- 4:03Speaker 1: that point?
- 4:03Speaker 4: They're competing with other teams? Now, yeah, what do you
- 4:06Speaker 4: mean his contract is up after eight games?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Fread not if they do it now, not if they
- 4:11Speaker 1: extend them.
- 4:12Speaker 4: He's not gonna do it now?
- 4:15Speaker 1: Well, then then I think, what did.
- 4:16Speaker 4: He say he wants to go to Atlanta, want to
- 4:21Speaker 4: get a sense of how everything is.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Well, then it's it's a very risky move.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Then, well that's the hysteria. If you if you resign them,
- 4:27Speaker 4: then Evan's exactly right. He's a good player and you
- 4:29Speaker 4: have them. Yeah, I wouldn't, but I don't know why
- 4:31Speaker 4: if you were going to overpay for him, which you're
- 4:33Speaker 4: going to have to do to keep them. Just wait
- 4:35Speaker 4: eight weeks, you don't have to get a second round pick,
- 4:37Speaker 4: well overpay them.
- 4:38Speaker 3: I just don't think that they're at all an attractive
- 4:41Speaker 3: destination and free agency so he's not going to go there.
- 4:43Speaker 4: But right now you lost the second round pick. You
- 4:46Speaker 4: don't have the player.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Right now because they have his rights, they have exclusive
- 4:51Speaker 1: negotiation right. No one else can negotiate with him except them.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So I would hope that they're going to make a
- 4:56Speaker 1: strong push now before he does get out there and
- 4:59Speaker 1: other teams can you know, match their off or do better?
- 5:03Speaker 1: They better?
- 5:03Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I think this.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Otherwise you got less than one chance of that happening.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I also think they're in a unique position, not that
- 5:09Speaker 3: this is Bears unfiltered, but they're in a unique position
- 5:12Speaker 3: that they have those two first round picks, so they're
- 5:15Speaker 3: draft like, they kind of already have a ton of
- 5:17Speaker 3: draft capital, so they would like, you know, be sitting
- 5:19Speaker 3: on it on these other picks.
- 5:20Speaker 4: It's I know, if him, then there's no no, it's No,
- 5:25Speaker 4: it's kind.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Of like a different version of the A. J.
- 5:27Speaker 7: Brown thing, where you know, instead of trading like in
- 5:29Speaker 7: the off season before he goes into his deal, you're
- 5:31Speaker 7: trading for him right at the trade deadline, even though
- 5:33Speaker 7: you don't they're not going anywhere, you know what I mean,
- 5:34Speaker 7: they're not really building physicians.
- 5:36Speaker 1: One thing. If they were the Rams or team like
- 5:38Speaker 1: that and they needed a piece to get over the
- 5:40Speaker 1: hump this year, that they're done this year. This year
- 5:44Speaker 1: is nothing. So yeah, it is a risk if if
- 5:47Speaker 1: they don't get him signed.
- 5:49Speaker 7: Yeah, well they're doing Evans thing of you know, free agency.
- 5:51Speaker 7: Great players aren't really hitting free agency anymore. So I
- 5:54Speaker 7: think they're giving themselves a chance, you know, to have that.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Windows was going to Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 3: No, I I I hear what you're saying, Paul. I
- 6:01Speaker 3: just think that we get too attached to draft picks,
- 6:03Speaker 3: like draft like, so you have this second round pick
- 6:06Speaker 3: and it's like, oh, well, we could take this second
- 6:08Speaker 3: round pick and we'll probably draft an edge rusher and
- 6:09Speaker 3: maybe he'll be as good as Montes Sweat or we
- 6:11Speaker 3: could have Montest Sweat and right, and like, I just
- 6:14Speaker 3: think that you know.
- 6:15Speaker 4: As long as as long as you have Montest Sweat.
- 6:18Speaker 4: I don't think you're gonna have Montest Sweat or a
- 6:20Speaker 4: second round pick. Maybe that's the way it looks to me,
- 6:23Speaker 4: unless that they completely blow him away when he hits
- 6:26Speaker 4: free agency. And in that case, I would just say,
- 6:29Speaker 4: just completely blow him away when he hits free agency
- 6:31Speaker 4: and hang on to the second round pick.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Let his agent know. Hey, by the way, you know,
- 6:36Speaker 1: the minute you know we can, your phone's gonna ring
- 6:39Speaker 1: and we're gonna give you an offer.
- 6:41Speaker 4: So have the whole legal tampering period and all that stuff.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I mean they can start negotiating with him
- 6:46Speaker 3: right off the bat. Well now they can right even
- 6:48Speaker 3: in the off season, right because they it's your own player.
- 6:51Speaker 4: No, but I'm saying if they had just waited, yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 4: I hear you.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I just I just think that we get to like
- 6:55Speaker 3: people get it too attached to like giving up the
- 6:58Speaker 3: draft capital for players that are proven good commodities, when
- 7:03Speaker 3: that's what you just hope the draft people will become.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And absolutely agree with that, you know, Like you know
- 7:09Speaker 1: the year that the Patriots draft was, you know, Brandon
- 7:13Speaker 1: Cook and and all that stuff. You know, I was
- 7:17Speaker 1: fine with, Well, yeah, but I was fine with the
- 7:19Speaker 1: idea of using draft picks for known commodities. You know
- 7:24Speaker 1: what's wrong with that? If you retain them as long
- 7:27Speaker 1: as you.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yes I would. I there's no argument if the
- 7:31Speaker 4: sign if it's a.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Two month rental that costs you.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You know, that doesn't make a lot of sense. Whereas
- 7:37Speaker 1: if in a season where you're already out of it.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Whereas if the Niners can't re sign Chase Young and
- 7:42Speaker 4: they get up a third round pick, no big whoop.
- 7:45Speaker 4: I mean they're taking a run like that's well worth it. Again,
- 7:49Speaker 4: I'm with Evan, I don't have to hold on to
- 7:52Speaker 4: those draft picks like they're some untradable But if.
- 7:55Speaker 7: I'm a Montes sweat, why would I sign with the Bears?
- 7:57Speaker 7: Like that's noventive to me to sign.
- 7:59Speaker 4: With unless you overpay, in which case just waite. So
- 8:03Speaker 4: free agency and you know, if you have the biggest offer,
- 8:07Speaker 4: many times you're going to get the guy.
- 8:09Speaker 1: All right, it's Duce, it's Evan, it's Paul, it's me,
- 8:12Speaker 1: it's Matt Nabooth. I don't know if is Alex going
- 8:14Speaker 1: to join us later?
- 8:15Speaker 5: She should I forgot to grab her.
- 8:17Speaker 4: So I'm a little surprised not to see her. You know,
- 8:22Speaker 4: Oh she'll come in, okay, dressed to the nines, you know, coming.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Oh it was today Thursday. She is, she is dominating,
- 8:30Speaker 4: she is okay, leading, leading the league.
- 8:33Speaker 5: That's great, dominant.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Okay, what else do we got? Patriots?
- 8:39Speaker 5: What Bill?
- 8:40Speaker 8: What?
- 8:40Speaker 5: Bill Washington?
- 8:42Speaker 1: Now? I mean, yeah, that was something that was floral,
- 8:46Speaker 1: something you know. Actually, the only thing, the only thing
- 8:49Speaker 1: about that story that was intriguing to me was, you know, obviously,
- 8:56Speaker 1: if you were going to do something and he went somewhere,
- 8:59Speaker 1: he'd have to want go to that place right, right,
- 9:02Speaker 1: that's close to Annapolis, right, Maybe that's that is something that.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Would I can I cannot come up with a single
- 9:08Speaker 3: argument that would make Bill want to go to Washington.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Besides the owner house. It's besides the owner has.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Deep What about what about autim Yeah? What about a
- 9:16Speaker 1: boatload of money and full control.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Total power everything control everything here?
- 9:21Speaker 1: That stinks?
- 9:21Speaker 4: What he gets everything?
- 9:22Speaker 3: He wants full control over a roster that stinks.
- 9:24Speaker 1: But he's gonna make it.
- 9:26Speaker 3: At seventy two years old, he's in really good shape.
- 9:29Speaker 1: By the way, he might be in better shape than
- 9:31Speaker 1: I am. You know, No, I'm serious. For like, I
- 9:36Speaker 1: hope when I'm seventy two, I'm in as good as
- 9:39Speaker 1: shape as he is.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Okay, but it's gonna go out on the limit, say
- 9:43Speaker 4: you will be Bill.
- 9:44Speaker 5: I don't know what are the what are the mechanics
- 9:46Speaker 5: for trading a coach? So does he have to approve it?
- 9:48Speaker 5: Or could you just try?
- 9:48Speaker 4: Well, he has to go somewhere he wants to go.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but you could.
- 9:52Speaker 4: But if he doesn't want to, if he doesn't want
- 9:54Speaker 4: to coach, like to Evans, just retire.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Washington can pick up the phone and say, hey, you know,
- 10:01Speaker 1: we'd like to give you comp We'd like to get Bill.
- 10:04Speaker 1: But Bill has to want.
- 10:04Speaker 5: To go there right right, you know.
- 10:06Speaker 7: But I imagine that this is a very appealing scenario
- 10:08Speaker 7: for a large segment of Patriots fans who would love
- 10:10Speaker 7: to get.
- 10:11Speaker 5: I don't know, a couple of the first round pick
- 10:12Speaker 5: or a couple of first.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Round picks, and you might get a first, you might
- 10:16Speaker 4: get a third. No, that's it. Really, Do you like
- 10:19Speaker 4: listen to anybody that talks about these things or do
- 10:22Speaker 4: you just like go off of think it's nineteen, it's
- 10:24Speaker 4: two thousand and seven.
- 10:25Speaker 1: No, here here if you if you're Washington, that's your guy.
- 10:29Speaker 1: If the Patriots are demanding a first you give him
- 10:32Speaker 1: a first. If you believe that he's your head coach
- 10:34Speaker 1: and you're going to give him total control. A first
- 10:36Speaker 1: round pick is is a low price to pay. That's
- 10:39Speaker 1: ridiculous that you know they won't pay more than a
- 10:42Speaker 1: third and they really don't want it.
- 10:43Speaker 5: What is the scuttle? But I hadn't heard it.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I didn't heard that that's what will happen. Then if
- 10:46Speaker 4: you want to.
- 10:49Speaker 3: They don't want him, then this is this is solely
- 10:51Speaker 3: just scuttle.
- 10:52Speaker 4: But it's yes.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And I like the fact that like this, these things
- 10:55Speaker 3: always talk Why why are.
- 10:56Speaker 1: We even talking about this? What's ridiculous.
- 10:58Speaker 4: It's not Smike brought it up.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I know, so respec Florio like goes on a show
- 11:03Speaker 3: and he's like, this isn't a report, so don't take
- 11:06Speaker 3: it as a report, and then he reports something.
- 11:08Speaker 4: It's like, dude, it started with Tom cahen and Phil
- 11:10Speaker 4: Perry two days earlier, and they like they they talked
- 11:14Speaker 4: about the idea of Washington. I agree, Like, if you
- 11:17Speaker 4: don't want to talk about it, we don't have to.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Talk about it. I think it's basically right, So like
- 11:21Speaker 1: it's baseless.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I think I don't think it's totally baseless that if
- 11:26Speaker 3: the Crafts decide that Bill is not the coach here anymore,
- 11:29Speaker 3: trading him is not totally basic, Like that's that makes sense, right,
- 11:32Speaker 3: But at the same time, I think if you're your Bill,
- 11:36Speaker 3: like you got to look at Washington and you have
- 11:38Speaker 3: to say, I need at least three years to get
- 11:41Speaker 3: this team to a contender, and I am seventy two
- 11:44Speaker 3: years old. Like, so you're telling me at seventy five
- 11:47Speaker 3: is when his team is going to be good again?
- 11:49Speaker 4: Like, what's the point he just stay yesterday?
- 11:53Speaker 1: Okay? But what's wrong with that?
- 11:56Speaker 4: He's too old? Fred? Like, how how old is he
- 11:58Speaker 4: going to do this for a You're and ages? What's
- 12:03Speaker 4: the big believe me? At fifty five?
- 12:06Speaker 3: I know the reason why you know to to Paul's
- 12:09Speaker 3: point about the third round pick, the reason why the
- 12:11Speaker 3: teams aren't knocking down the door for Bill is because
- 12:13Speaker 3: of his age. That if he was sixty then this
- 12:17Speaker 3: would be a totally nice We have.
- 12:19Speaker 4: A different argument.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Wait a minute, they're not knocking down the door because
- 12:22Speaker 1: he's under contract with the new Patriots.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Fred, do you never hear any rumors or anything like
- 12:27Speaker 4: you didn't hear for two years Sean Payton, what potentially
- 12:29Speaker 4: he could get? No, I know, but he was under
- 12:31Speaker 4: contract from the New Orleans Saints.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I know.
- 12:33Speaker 4: But like these are the things that are being talked about,
- 12:36Speaker 4: you know, as as Florio said, this isn't a report,
- 12:39Speaker 4: but when you talk to people and these are the
- 12:41Speaker 4: things that you're hearing in NFL sert report. Right, thank you.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Well, if you got to start from scratch with either
- 12:48Speaker 5: this Patriots roster or the commander's roster, what would you pick?
- 12:52Speaker 1: And we talk about it starting from scratch?
- 12:54Speaker 4: I mean one of them.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Terry mclaurin's pretty good, right, I mean.
- 12:57Speaker 3: They've got about like you know, Matthew Judon's good.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Like you know.
- 13:01Speaker 3: The point is is that not only does he have
- 13:04Speaker 3: to get the roster back to a contention standpoint, he's
- 13:08Speaker 3: got a retool the entire program.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Like I think people like.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Don't put it into the Patriots too.
- 13:15Speaker 4: He did, but no, he did it.
- 13:17Speaker 1: But if you hear him second year they went to
- 13:19Speaker 1: the super Bowl.
- 13:19Speaker 4: But if you hear him talk about it.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But it took him a year to get that.
- 13:23Speaker 3: But when you hear him talk about it, he says
- 13:25Speaker 3: that two thousand and one was premature. They were ahead
- 13:28Speaker 3: of schedule in two thousand and one. He didn't really
- 13:30Speaker 3: feel like they were. The program was up and running
- 13:33Speaker 3: until two thousand and three.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'll bet you if I'll bet you, if you sat
- 13:36Speaker 1: him down, he would say, Washington the way it's constituted
- 13:40Speaker 1: right now was better than the Patriots the way it
- 13:42Speaker 1: was constituted when he took over the team.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Well, he's wrong, May I guess me?
- 13:47Speaker 3: Like, I'm not going to like, I don't you know
- 13:49Speaker 3: that's gone back away from.
- 13:52Speaker 1: That was his choice, right because he because he thought
- 13:55Speaker 1: everyone's stunk.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Because he completely cleared the decks, right.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But I'm just and that, so what if it takes
- 14:02Speaker 1: three years, I think he's gonna I think so he'll
- 14:05Speaker 1: be seventy four, yes, seventy.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Five, Yes, friend, if you could guarantee that he's gonna
- 14:08Speaker 4: win a Super Bowl in three years, yes, anybody would
- 14:10Speaker 4: do it.
- 14:11Speaker 1: That's so, I.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Mean he thinks he's not going anywhere then, because he's like, unless.
- 14:14Speaker 4: It was right, I just don't.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I don't know, but I think people are under selling
- 14:21Speaker 3: about Bill going elsewhere is his entire life has set
- 14:26Speaker 3: up here, like his kids are on the coaching staff,
- 14:29Speaker 3: his front office is filled with nepotism, Hires, mac Rowe,
- 14:34Speaker 3: Elliott Wolf, all these guys have connections to Bill. So
- 14:38Speaker 3: his entire program is set up here, not to mention
- 14:41Speaker 3: like his personal life, which I won't. You know, then
- 14:44Speaker 3: Tucket all that stuff like that Dad is all he's
- 14:48Speaker 3: over twenty five years, has set up a program like
- 14:51Speaker 3: almost like a college program where like he is, all
- 14:54Speaker 3: of his foundation is in place. So he has to
- 14:57Speaker 3: pick this up and he has to move it to Washington,
- 15:00Speaker 3: which is tanking and is in a terrible spot in
- 15:03Speaker 3: terms of the roster. They don't have a quarterback. You know,
- 15:05Speaker 3: they just traded their two best players probably and now
- 15:09Speaker 3: and now he has to start it all over all
- 15:11Speaker 3: because what because Josh Harris is gonna pay him a
- 15:14Speaker 3: boat he's making he's the highest paid coach in the
- 15:16Speaker 3: league here, so like what what what advantage?
- 15:20Speaker 4: Now this is operating under the premise that's staying here
- 15:23Speaker 4: is not really an option?
- 15:24Speaker 1: Right, So also, if I'm forgetting about a guy like Bill,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and I'm not just saying it's just Bill, but guys
- 15:30Speaker 1: at his level feel they can do anything. They've they've
- 15:33Speaker 1: got the ego that that.
- 15:35Speaker 4: And I do think Washington is one of the few
- 15:37Speaker 4: places that will give him everything that Evan just said
- 15:41Speaker 4: he has here, right, I don't think a lot of
- 15:42Speaker 4: other places he'll have.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Like like, we don't know, but I can't imagine that
- 15:47Speaker 1: Bill's getting a little tired of being here, just like Brady.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Like maybe he feels he needs a new and he's
- 15:53Speaker 1: not done coaching, just like Brady wasn't done quarterbacking, but
- 15:57Speaker 1: he needed a new, a new.
- 15:58Speaker 3: So let's play this out like I'd say, Bill is
- 16:02Speaker 3: essentially a free agent and can be traded anywhere, and
- 16:05Speaker 3: that that's the that's the case where he wants to go,
- 16:08Speaker 3: where he wants to go. Where is Washington on that list? Now,
- 16:12Speaker 3: if you tell me that, just like Brady with Tampa Bay,
- 16:15Speaker 3: they were kind of there weren't as many suitors and
- 16:18Speaker 3: that was sort of where the the you know, musical
- 16:21Speaker 3: chairs ended. Fine, but I would all counter with that.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Tampa Bay's roster was a lot better than people gave
- 16:28Speaker 3: it credit for, and Brady recognized that. Sure, So if
- 16:32Speaker 3: your Bill and on Black Monday, there's probably gonna be
- 16:36Speaker 3: like every year there's gonna be six to eight coaches
- 16:38Speaker 3: that are fired. You're telling me that Washington is going
- 16:41Speaker 3: to be the best opening.
- 16:42Speaker 4: There's no way.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Maybe maybe, Like I said, I was trying to come
- 16:46Speaker 1: up with why Washington close to Annapolis? It's not that
- 16:50Speaker 1: far from Nantucket. It's still you know, a hop, skip
- 16:53Speaker 1: and a jump with a private plane.
- 16:56Speaker 7: You know, if I'm the owner of the of the Commanders,
- 16:58Speaker 7: it makes complete total sense to just throw the boat
- 17:01Speaker 7: at him and remake our franchise with this guy, any
- 17:05Speaker 7: Bill Parcells.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Now Bill Parcells was a lot younger than Bill Belichick
- 17:09Speaker 1: at this point, but that's what Orthline's thinking was. I
- 17:12Speaker 1: need to bring in an established, credible coach to you know,
- 17:17Speaker 1: give my my franchise credibility because I'm gonna, you know,
- 17:21Speaker 1: whatever I do with it, I need to get.
- 17:23Speaker 5: It back on the map.
- 17:24Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I agree with, you know, everything I've
- 17:26Speaker 7: been saying about why would Bill want to do it?
- 17:27Speaker 7: But I also look at this roster and say, this
- 17:30Speaker 7: roster is probably three years away too, So what's the difference.
- 17:32Speaker 3: You know, Like at my point, is better rosters to
- 17:36Speaker 3: pick from.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Like I'm just glad we're not talking about it, you know.
- 17:40Speaker 1: No, I mean this type of stuff you could go
- 17:42Speaker 1: on forever. But like, are we wasting time because probably
- 17:45Speaker 1: gonna happen.
- 17:46Speaker 4: We probably are, But isn't it fun? I know, if
- 17:49Speaker 4: there's a radio we got a game to win on Sunday, No,
- 17:51Speaker 4: it doesn't.
- 17:52Speaker 3: If there's if there's like openings around the league that
- 17:56Speaker 3: are projected to potentially be open, you know, and like
- 17:59Speaker 3: I get it that, you know, if Felger I think
- 18:01Speaker 3: had the take with you that, like he doesn't want
- 18:03Speaker 3: to go someplace where he's not going to get the
- 18:04Speaker 3: credit if the team wins.
- 18:06Speaker 4: So but there are some other factors involved in those twos.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I don't think there first of.
- 18:11Speaker 1: All, except for San Diego, all those other openings are
- 18:14Speaker 1: probably on teams that stink.
- 18:15Speaker 3: To Los Angeles.
- 18:17Speaker 4: But I mean, and they're not going to pay him, right,
- 18:21Speaker 4: But but what but what if this is my point,
- 18:23Speaker 4: like there's not as like this big dossier of options
- 18:26Speaker 4: out there that that he's going to get everything you want.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Is there's there's one and it's they staring at everybody
- 18:34Speaker 3: in the face when he stood up there and said,
- 18:36Speaker 3: how great of a program? Jerry Jones runs in Dallas.
- 18:38Speaker 4: He doesn't pay.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I think he would pay for Billy because that that's
- 18:43Speaker 3: what he doesn't pay his coaches typically. That's a situation
- 18:46Speaker 3: where Jerry Jones is also starting to get up there
- 18:49Speaker 3: in age, and if he wants the Super Bowl, then
- 18:53Speaker 3: you start to think about Bill is probably you know,
- 18:56Speaker 3: you give Bill an offense that has a quarterback and
- 18:59Speaker 3: every everything already set up on that side of the ball,
- 19:01Speaker 3: and you give Bill Michaeh Parsons, and that team is
- 19:05Speaker 3: going to be really, really freaking good.
- 19:06Speaker 4: We listen, I think if you had the just the teams,
- 19:10Speaker 4: obviously the Washington wouldn't be high in the list. But
- 19:15Speaker 4: I wasn't aware of this. And I heard and this
- 19:17Speaker 4: could be some Felger emasisms too. Maybe they're you know,
- 19:20Speaker 4: sort of taking a grain of truth and making it up.
- 19:23Speaker 4: But they claim like the only time they ever got
- 19:25Speaker 4: the coach was Parcels when they wanted to build a stadium,
- 19:28Speaker 4: they had, you know, he they needed a little bump.
- 19:30Speaker 4: But otherwise he's notoriously tight with his coaches and all
- 19:35Speaker 4: the other stuff around him.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And and and I would agree, and just look at
- 19:38Speaker 1: Jason Garrett. How long it took Jerry Jones to finally get.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Rid of some of the other guys that coach that,
- 19:44Speaker 4: like the Dallas Cowboys, like Dave campbo was that was
- 19:49Speaker 4: that Switzer, you know, it wasn't Chane Gaily the coach
- 19:52Speaker 4: wants to He wants they've had some unimpressive girls. He
- 19:56Speaker 4: doesn't want a strong guy, including the guy they have now.
- 19:58Speaker 1: He wants a guy that he can manage and also not.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Pay like supposedly Mike McCarthy's like the third lowest paid coach.
- 20:07Speaker 1: In the Jerry wants to be the man. You know,
- 20:10Speaker 1: he's not gonna be the man of Bill Belichick's.
- 20:12Speaker 4: But I mean Evan's point about the rosters. Absolutely, I
- 20:15Speaker 4: would go to the Chargers. I'd go to the Cowboys. Yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 4: But like the ones that I think are gonna I
- 20:20Speaker 4: don't think that job's gonna be available the one, well,
- 20:22Speaker 4: I think it could be, but I don't think he's
- 20:23Speaker 4: gonna get what he wants there. I don't think Jerry
- 20:25Speaker 4: Jones is gonna let him bring you know, Patriots East,
- 20:29Speaker 4: you know, to uh to Dallas. I don't think that's
- 20:31Speaker 4: gonna happen, right, I mean kind of runs counter to
- 20:34Speaker 4: what he's done. Yep, you know Chicago, they don't pay either.
- 20:38Speaker 4: The Chargers Spanos very you know, very tight. These guys
- 20:41Speaker 4: are not going to give him twenty five million and
- 20:43Speaker 4: allow him to bring all his his family. But the
- 20:46Speaker 4: Giants possible, the giants available, Yeah, possible.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 20:52Speaker 4: I just can't.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I can't wrap my head around Bill in Washington. It
- 20:56Speaker 3: just that roster is so far away and I I
- 21:00Speaker 3: don't see it.
- 21:01Speaker 4: That's all.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I just I'm sorry. Like I think the ages of
- 21:05Speaker 3: his age has to be a I.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Think the age is a factor too, absolutely. And that's
- 21:08Speaker 4: like my first shutdown of Felgert yesterday was that, like
- 21:11Speaker 4: he doesn't have time to do it there.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know if he has time to do
- 21:15Speaker 5: it here.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And when you say time, you're talking three or four years, right, Yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I think he's got plenty of time.
- 21:22Speaker 4: I just don't understand how a guy who wants vowed
- 21:25Speaker 4: to never be like Mars Leveley and coach into his
- 21:27Speaker 4: seventies is now seventy six no problem.
- 21:29Speaker 1: And like I said, you know, at the time that
- 21:31Speaker 1: probably seemed reasonable, but then you get into.
- 21:34Speaker 4: The city in evidence would be on the other side
- 21:37Speaker 4: but look at him. He's Yeah, it's not as good
- 21:40Speaker 4: a coach as he was.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Correct look at the product.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Like, are you arguing that he's gone four years under
- 21:46Speaker 4: five hundred?
- 21:47Speaker 1: It's the GM part.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Oh, okay, must be great.
- 21:52Speaker 1: But anyway, I you know, maybe you know, like if
- 21:55Speaker 1: he does it the way he wants to do it,
- 21:57Speaker 1: maybe he brings out Matt Grow with him, or maybe
- 22:00Speaker 1: he hires.
- 22:01Speaker 3: You almost said al Grow for Washington.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I think.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I think you're right about it.
- 22:09Speaker 1: In other words, he since he has the keys, he
- 22:12Speaker 1: can structure the pro room anyway he wants so that
- 22:16Speaker 1: it's not as taxing physically.
- 22:19Speaker 4: On him, you know, like he can hire look like
- 22:21Speaker 4: the Patriots.
- 22:22Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 22:23Speaker 3: I don't think he does as much as he used to.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Okay, And I don't know, and I don't. I just don't.
- 22:29Speaker 3: And I don't think that that's there's nothing wrong with that.
- 22:32Speaker 3: There's nothing wrong with delegate.
- 22:34Speaker 1: But again you're you're assuming that everything else is okay
- 22:36Speaker 1: here and everything that we hear is that it's not.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah, because I don't think that the coaches is I
- 22:43Speaker 3: don't think he is doing what he did ten years ago.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Okay, But like even if he like, is he happy?
- 22:49Speaker 1: Is my point? Is he happy here?
- 22:51Speaker 4: We should ask I don't know, are you happy to
- 22:54Speaker 4: Somebody asked, would if I said, Billy, it's like Brady Brady, you.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Know, it's just it was just time. It was time.
- 23:04Speaker 5: You know, some of us were willing to say that.
- 23:06Speaker 1: But I'm talking about in Brady's mind, not in my mind.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I'm talking about in terms of what Tom Brady thought.
- 23:13Speaker 4: You want to take a step back from that, take
- 23:15Speaker 4: you know, like that's the character you play, but then
- 23:17Speaker 4: you say stuff like that.
- 23:19Speaker 1: But in terms of what Brady I think Brady fell,
- 23:22Speaker 1: it's I just need to leave. I need a new place, right.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I just think that Brady, to his credit, put on
- 23:30Speaker 3: his GM cap for a second and saw the Bucks
- 23:33Speaker 3: had Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and a defense that
- 23:37Speaker 3: was kind of up and coming.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Other than the Cowboys and maybe the Chargers, the Chargers
- 23:41Speaker 1: is more likely. Very few teams that are firing the
- 23:45Speaker 1: coach have a stacked roster. Yeah, it's just not that's rare.
- 23:49Speaker 3: But some of them have quarterbacks. Yeah, and I think
- 23:52Speaker 3: it makes a big difference.
- 23:54Speaker 5: It's funny he still brought Kronk though, you know, well, guys.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I'm assuming mean that that dround might have been determined.
- 24:02Speaker 1: But as it stands right now, Washington's going to have
- 24:04Speaker 1: a very high pick, right sure, Yeah, you know, for
- 24:08Speaker 1: all we know the plans already later.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Than the Patriots.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Yeah, they're picking eleventh right now, are they?
- 24:12Speaker 4: Yeah? But I mean, I mean, yeah, we're only halfway
- 24:16Speaker 4: through the season.
- 24:16Speaker 5: Yeah, not yet.
- 24:18Speaker 1: But they have two wins, right Washington, three oh three?
- 24:21Speaker 1: I thought they had two, one ahead of us.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they're about to have four.
- 24:25Speaker 9: I'm scared.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Wow, man, this guy is in a dark place today.
- 24:29Speaker 7: I thought, after two hours of Catch twenty two, you
- 24:32Speaker 7: work some issues. I thought that feel like Barth like
- 24:35Speaker 7: triggered you or.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Something like he usually does.
- 24:38Speaker 1: If we lose this game on Sunday, I'm out.
- 24:42Speaker 4: I mean, you're clip that Mark.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I'm only kidding.
- 24:45Speaker 4: They're they're bones for them to lose this game. I
- 24:47Speaker 4: was being like, like, facious, what's that word? Pieces? I
- 24:52Speaker 4: can't say that word. There's a lot of words. Yes,
- 24:56Speaker 4: I was facing.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I was half kidding is a better way to but
- 25:00Speaker 3: there's a lot of bones in this game that favor Washington, and.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I would let's talk about him, talk about it.
- 25:07Speaker 3: First of all, I guess the simplest one is that
- 25:10Speaker 3: Jonathan Allen and Deron Payne are going to go up
- 25:12Speaker 3: against Cold Strange.
- 25:13Speaker 4: And City Son.
- 25:14Speaker 5: We're finally playing them.
- 25:15Speaker 4: So that's gonna be fun.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You know.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Good luck stepping up in the pocket.
- 25:20Speaker 1: They're really good, very good. Okay, So the roster is
- 25:23Speaker 1: not as bad as you're saying it is.
- 25:25Speaker 4: They have two good players.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Terry mclaurin's not good. Okay, three Okay, Yeah, I'll bet
- 25:29Speaker 3: you if we went down we could find some. But
- 25:31Speaker 3: I think we could do the same thing with the
- 25:32Speaker 3: Patriots rost.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Okay, okay. But what I'm saying is that, going back
- 25:37Speaker 1: to our previous conversation, he wouldn't be stepping into the
- 25:40Speaker 1: train wreck that you're making it out to be.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I think you would. Well, the bottom line is they
- 25:44Speaker 4: don't have a quarterback.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Okay, that's fine.
- 25:47Speaker 4: So I get that it is a train wreck. Now,
- 25:48Speaker 4: I don't think that would be a train wreck that
- 25:50Speaker 4: he'd be unwilling to take part in because I think
- 25:53Speaker 4: he doesn't largely care about that spot.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Somehow, Sam Hel, that's my guy got him.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I mean, that's the simplest thing is finding a way
- 26:02Speaker 3: to block those two guys with the two young guards
- 26:05Speaker 3: is going to be questionable.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Strange is that your cold strange? Is that what you're
- 26:10Speaker 5: trying to with young guards?
- 26:11Speaker 4: Maybe Mafi, I don't know.
- 26:12Speaker 3: I pick on cold strange a lot.
- 26:14Speaker 4: So does he get does he get benched outright?
- 26:16Speaker 10: This week?
- 26:17Speaker 4: I mean.
- 26:19Speaker 3: You talk about you know, guys that have really given
- 26:23Speaker 3: cold strange problems like a Quentin Williams, DeForest Buckner, the
- 26:27Speaker 3: strong Jonathan Allen, powerful guys, but it's not like guys
- 26:34Speaker 3: typically that are like great get off guys. It's these long, powerful,
- 26:37Speaker 3: heavy players that that's Jonathan Allen. So you know he's
- 26:41Speaker 3: going to have to deal with that. And offensively, I
- 26:44Speaker 3: think Eric the Enemy is really good and he runs
- 26:47Speaker 3: the system. He runs the read system, and the read
- 26:49Speaker 3: systems given them all kinds of trouble for a decade.
- 26:53Speaker 3: So you know, you look at Nick Foles in the
- 26:56Speaker 3: Super Bowl, you look at Alex Smith in that Week
- 26:59Speaker 3: one game scoring forty points on the defense. You look
- 27:01Speaker 3: at obviously what Patrick Mahomes did is different because he's
- 27:04Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes. But they did it with lesser quarterbacks. They
- 27:07Speaker 3: did it in big stages and the Patriots defense has
- 27:10Speaker 3: trouble with that scheme.
- 27:12Speaker 4: The Patriots have had to blitz a lot to get pressure,
- 27:16Speaker 4: and that seems to be the only thing that's really
- 27:18Speaker 4: bothered that Washington offense is when there's a lot of pressure.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Now forty one.
- 27:22Speaker 4: I think that they've really adjusted because they threw the
- 27:25Speaker 4: ball fifty some odd times last week and only had
- 27:28Speaker 4: only got sacked once against an Eagles team that can
- 27:32Speaker 4: get pressure on the passer. They have good front seven personnel,
- 27:36Speaker 4: and I just wonder if maybe the enemy has said, Okay,
- 27:39Speaker 4: we can't do this, this, and this, because we won't
- 27:42Speaker 4: be able to do it, but we can adjust and
- 27:45Speaker 4: do it in a different way. And they put thirty
- 27:47Speaker 4: one on the board, you know against Philly. Now, some
- 27:50Speaker 4: of that I do think is division matchups, because clearly
- 27:54Speaker 4: there's something about Washington that bothers Philly. They beat them
- 27:58Speaker 4: last year, you know, to knock them out of the undefeated.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Both games this year were right, you know, there was
- 28:04Speaker 4: shootouts that went right down to the wire. So clearly
- 28:07Speaker 4: there's something about Washington that bothers Philly as a division team.
- 28:10Speaker 4: So I don't just go by what they did against.
- 28:13Speaker 3: The Eagles, right, But you just said the word shootout.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think this Washington team can score.
- 28:18Speaker 4: If Washington has a good offensive day, you're going to
- 28:20Speaker 4: be in trouble without without Kendrick Bourn and Parker, and
- 28:22Speaker 4: now you're going to have to rely on the young guys.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Evan brought up the protection issues on the inside. Yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 4: it could be a long day. I don't know if
- 28:32Speaker 4: you're going to win this game thirty five thirty one.
- 28:34Speaker 7: I think it's like interceptions, you know, are you able
- 28:36Speaker 7: to force them into interceptions? Something Patriots defense hasn't gotten
- 28:38Speaker 7: a lot of.
- 28:39Speaker 5: This season, you know, And that's how the Patriots getting
- 28:41Speaker 5: the first That's it.
- 28:42Speaker 1: So back to your roundtable question. Yeah, you're on a
- 28:46Speaker 1: team like Washington and two of your best players get
- 28:50Speaker 1: traded away. How does that affect you as a remaining player?
- 28:54Speaker 1: Is it like, well, they're giving up in the season,
- 28:55Speaker 1: so should I or like, oh, here's my opportunity to shine?
- 28:58Speaker 4: Well, depends on who you are, Like if you're one
- 29:01Speaker 4: of the young guys that's playing on the end. Now,
- 29:03Speaker 4: what's the guy that Bill keeps talking about with the
- 29:05Speaker 4: hyphenated name William Smith? William Smith? You know this is
- 29:08Speaker 4: a big these these are big opportunities for those guys
- 29:11Speaker 4: right now if you're.
- 29:12Speaker 1: What about like you're in the secondary and it's like, oh,
- 29:15Speaker 1: they're trading away.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Like Kendall Fuller is a veteran, and you know there's
- 29:18Speaker 4: other guys that are young in the secondary too. They're
- 29:20Speaker 4: trying to figure it out and they've been really bad,
- 29:22Speaker 4: so they got to figure out how to play. Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 4: but like bench, you know, maybe some of those like
- 29:28Speaker 4: Terry McLaurin type guys look at it like you're saying Fred,
- 29:31Speaker 4: you know, like what are we playing for you?
- 29:32Speaker 9: Right?
- 29:33Speaker 3: That's that's the overarching theme of this game is he
- 29:35Speaker 3: wants to like he cares about winning on Sunday, wants.
- 29:38Speaker 7: And that's why it's like I feel like the almost
- 29:40Speaker 7: want to call them the R word. The commanders have
- 29:43Speaker 7: just like this like fast and loose. We don't really
- 29:44Speaker 7: give a flying f about like how we're gonna play.
- 29:46Speaker 7: We're just gonna bombs away, we get killed like whatever,
- 29:49Speaker 7: Like they're just gonna come in here.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Was afraid to say Redskins, but he had.
- 29:51Speaker 3: No problem with the fly on f Yeah, and R
- 29:54Speaker 3: word makes it sound so much, but no, that that's
- 29:59Speaker 3: my fear of this to Mike, is that you know,
- 30:01Speaker 3: they drop back to pass more teams more than any
- 30:02Speaker 3: team Like screw it, yea, they just they're they pass
- 30:07Speaker 3: on first down more more than just about any team
- 30:10Speaker 3: in the league. They run their offense like they're the
- 30:12Speaker 3: Kansas City Chiefs. Now they don't have that challenge. They
- 30:15Speaker 3: don't have Patrick Mahomes, so that's why they are where
- 30:18Speaker 3: they are. But in terms of they don't, bay Adamy's
- 30:22Speaker 3: not holding back the offense because he doesn't have Patrick Mahomes,
- 30:25Speaker 3: go for it.
- 30:25Speaker 7: He's just it feels like a Jack Jones game or
- 30:27Speaker 7: he's like, let's do this, Like they're just like it's
- 30:29Speaker 7: his kind of game where there's just gonna be boss
- 30:30Speaker 7: flying all over the place and he'll get some and
- 30:32Speaker 7: he'll get beat.
- 30:33Speaker 5: Probably the same with J. C. Jackson.
- 30:34Speaker 7: You know, it's like, I don't know, That's what I'm feeling,
- 30:36Speaker 7: Like this is just gonna be one of those kind
- 30:37Speaker 7: of crazy games where especially the commanders, it's hard to watch.
- 30:41Speaker 7: What you know, he's willing to stand in there and
- 30:43Speaker 7: get drilled to put the ball down the field and
- 30:45Speaker 7: can they work out the back end communication issues that
- 30:47Speaker 7: we talked about from last week you know, giving up
- 30:50Speaker 7: big plays. Miami's one thing, though this is this is
- 30:52Speaker 7: something else.
- 30:53Speaker 5: But still yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be a very tough game for
- 30:59Speaker 1: the Patriots for sure.
- 31:00Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, especially like a Bentley.
- 31:02Speaker 1: I mean, like I think at home, you know, you know,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I know home hasn't been a big advantage of late.
- 31:07Speaker 1: But they should win this game.
- 31:08Speaker 5: They should, they should, But I really have no idea
- 31:11Speaker 5: if they will or so.
- 31:12Speaker 4: And I'm not This is not snarky, Paul, I promise
- 31:15Speaker 4: you it's not based on what are we saying that
- 31:18Speaker 4: they should win it because I don't think their talent
- 31:20Speaker 4: is better than the other teams.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Because Evan says it's a it's a train run, it's
- 31:23Speaker 1: a terrible team.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I know, But did you ask him what he thought
- 31:26Speaker 4: of the Patriots in the first eight games?
- 31:28Speaker 5: Well, Belichick's here, you know, I like it's it just
- 31:31Speaker 5: comes out of simple stuff for me. And it's not
- 31:33Speaker 5: even like actual.
- 31:34Speaker 4: I'm not telling you the pictures can't win match.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I don't.
- 31:37Speaker 4: I don't really understand the should part of it, like,
- 31:39Speaker 4: like you have so much more talent than Washington, This
- 31:42Speaker 4: should this should be a win. Yeah, as long as
- 31:44Speaker 4: you show up, you're right.
- 31:45Speaker 5: Like it's a different I don't see that. No, it's
- 31:47Speaker 5: a different I feel.
- 31:48Speaker 7: I mean, and that's I feel leaning should like fifty
- 31:50Speaker 7: one to forty nine, Like should, I mean it.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Opens one game. I think it's moved out to three.
- 31:55Speaker 4: With the trades and stuff and the things that have
- 31:57Speaker 4: happened during the coast of the week, this game is
- 31:59Speaker 4: considered to be pretty even.
- 32:00Speaker 5: It's a two win team versus a three win team.
- 32:02Speaker 5: The two win team is at home, and it's like
- 32:04Speaker 5: they probably should win. But I mean it could go
- 32:07Speaker 5: either way.
- 32:07Speaker 4: I mean, if I have to make a pick, I'm
- 32:09Speaker 4: picking the I am picking the Patriots. I mean, don't
- 32:11Speaker 4: give away the suspense for the later in the show.
- 32:13Speaker 5: But but it's not like it's not the same juggernaut. Juggernaut.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Patriots are playing some crappy They should win this one.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Like if they were playing the Raiders this week, I
- 32:22Speaker 4: know they played them a couple of weeks ago. This week,
- 32:24Speaker 4: with everything that's going on, I would say, yeah, that's
- 32:26Speaker 4: a they should they should win this one. Like I
- 32:29Speaker 4: don't really like I think Washington has some things that
- 32:32Speaker 4: could cause problems. Yeah, I do.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Too, And I just I look at the way that
- 32:37Speaker 3: the Commanders play on offense is just the total opposite
- 32:40Speaker 3: of how the Patriots play on offense, and that they
- 32:43Speaker 3: just don't, like Mike said, they just don't give an
- 32:45Speaker 3: f so like if he said, if he gets sacked
- 32:47Speaker 3: or he turns the ball over, like, so be it,
- 32:49Speaker 3: but we're gonna go down swinging. And the Patriots play
- 32:52Speaker 3: this conservative, you know, approach on offense and not basically
- 32:55Speaker 3: don't screw up offense is what they try to do.
- 32:58Speaker 3: And that doesn't really lend itself too well to a
- 33:01Speaker 3: team that's willing to throw the ball as much as
- 33:03Speaker 3: Washington is, and you know, he's the way to beat
- 33:06Speaker 3: the Commanders is obviously to rattle Sam Howell.
- 33:09Speaker 4: I mean, he's not very good.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Like if he's been sacked forty one times this year,
- 33:13Speaker 3: that's thirteen more sacks than any other quarterback in the league.
- 33:16Speaker 1: And how Patriots Bennet gets not very good quarterbacks pretty good.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Well, that's the question, like I guess, is like do
- 33:22Speaker 3: they that do they still have that feather in their
- 33:25Speaker 3: cap that against a quarterback that you can get to
- 33:27Speaker 3: hold the football, that you can get to turn over
- 33:29Speaker 3: the ball, Like, can they still rattle a bad quarterback?
- 33:33Speaker 5: I just feel like he might be un rattleable because
- 33:37Speaker 5: he's like he's taking so many secks.
- 33:38Speaker 7: He just seems like I don't want to say he's
- 33:39Speaker 7: dumb person like I just but it's like he's just
- 33:41Speaker 7: just like, I don't know, we got likely twelve times
- 33:43Speaker 7: in the game, I'll just keep throwing it. Like that
- 33:45Speaker 7: seems like their philosophy, like I don't know if he
- 33:47Speaker 7: get is rattleable, Like he's gotten killed and he.
- 33:49Speaker 5: Just continues to stand in there and do the same stuff.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Well, but he throws interceptions, yeah, right.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Eight but not like like this whole like I don't
- 33:59Speaker 4: I don't really get it.
- 34:00Speaker 5: He's played a couple of downfield dimes too this year
- 34:02Speaker 5: that you're like, yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Well, how many games has he started?
- 34:04Speaker 5: All of them?
- 34:05Speaker 1: Oh? I thought the other guy.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Now he takes a lot of sacks.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Thirteen touchdowns, eight interceptions, I mean takes a ton of sacks.
- 34:13Speaker 4: That's that's really yeah, I mean forty one sacks is
- 34:16Speaker 4: what it is. But he's completing sixty seven percent of
- 34:19Speaker 4: his passage. He's thrown for almost twenty and fifty yards.
- 34:22Speaker 4: I mean, this is not a stiff now. I don't know,
- 34:27Speaker 4: maybe they just are behind every game and they throw
- 34:29Speaker 4: and he gets a lot of plastic stats. That's you know,
- 34:33Speaker 4: in other words, he's Gardner Minshew, right, Like you look
- 34:36Speaker 4: up at the end of the day. You look up
- 34:38Speaker 4: at the end of the day and he's thrown for
- 34:40Speaker 4: like two eighty five and three touchdowns and a pick,
- 34:44Speaker 4: and you know, they lost thirty eight twenty seven. And
- 34:48Speaker 4: it looks like he had a good day, but he
- 34:49Speaker 4: really didn't because most of the damage he did. It's
- 34:52Speaker 4: like mac Jones has done this year fourth quarter two
- 34:54Speaker 4: school games. Well when it becomes you know, infinitely easier.
- 34:58Speaker 4: But that's what he did against Phil. The numbers here,
- 35:02Speaker 4: like mac Jones's numbers don't even come close too, you know,
- 35:08Speaker 4: and they've both thrown eight interceptions, but you know, Sam
- 35:13Speaker 4: Howells throwing the ball forty eight more times than mac Jones.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I mean that's almost the whole game.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Yeah, And it's not like the Patriots have been winning
- 35:23Speaker 4: every game so they don't have to throw. They've been
- 35:25Speaker 4: down by two scores every game except.
- 35:26Speaker 3: For win, you know, so they they were you know,
- 35:28Speaker 3: he's like second or third in the league in attempts.
- 35:30Speaker 3: But because he's been sacked so many times, he's first
- 35:33Speaker 3: in the league in dropbacks, right right, So nobody drop
- 35:35Speaker 3: backs more of the past than Sam Howell, like imagine
- 35:38Speaker 3: sayings and number two I think is Patrick Mahomes, Like,
- 35:41Speaker 3: so this is the that's the offense.
- 35:43Speaker 4: If you do what Mike said and he's going to
- 35:46Speaker 4: throw you know, they throw the ball so much and
- 35:48Speaker 4: they just throw caution to the wind and maybe j
- 35:51Speaker 4: C or Jack Jones or you know, Dogger comes up
- 35:54Speaker 4: with a pick or maybe even a pick six, then
- 35:56Speaker 4: you could get your You should win. You know, you're
- 35:58Speaker 4: gonna get a comfortable win by the key to the
- 36:00Speaker 4: game if it's one of those games where they don't
- 36:02Speaker 4: turn it over. I don't know, like I don't know
- 36:04Speaker 4: how good I feel about.
- 36:05Speaker 5: To be two keys to the game. I might have
- 36:07Speaker 5: to make that my key. I might have to think
- 36:09Speaker 5: there it is there it is. Yeah, thinking about you, Key.
- 36:12Speaker 3: I really like you know this offense and it's like
- 36:15Speaker 3: what a lot and what they do schematically too. And
- 36:18Speaker 3: we talked about this a little bit on a very
- 36:19Speaker 3: end of Catch twenty two about been of me and
- 36:21Speaker 3: like him as a head coach, you know, down the line,
- 36:24Speaker 3: and I definitely think that he's had Sam. I mean,
- 36:27Speaker 3: like Paul just read out the numbers like he's a float.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Like it's not he's not lighting up the world, but
- 36:32Speaker 3: like he's not completely bombing either. And I don't know
- 36:36Speaker 3: if Sam Howell is necessarily very good quarterbacks.
- 36:38Speaker 4: I don't either, But that's why I said, like it
- 36:40Speaker 4: could just be plastic numbers. And I've seen that happen
- 36:43Speaker 4: many many times. And all of a sudden, you see
- 36:45Speaker 4: a guy play and you're like, oh, that's what he does,
- 36:49Speaker 4: you know, And you're.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Like, he doesn't.
- 36:51Speaker 3: He doesn't turn Like it's not about turnovers necessarily with him.
- 36:54Speaker 3: What I see like he holds the ball forever, right,
- 36:57Speaker 3: That's why he takes so many sacks, And when you
- 36:59Speaker 3: move them off his spot, his accuracy just goes down
- 37:03Speaker 3: the wayside. So even when he gets the ball out,
- 37:05Speaker 3: if you can get him to have to reset in
- 37:07Speaker 3: the pocket, it's weird because like he does reset, but
- 37:11Speaker 3: it still the ball just sprays.
- 37:12Speaker 4: All over the place.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Even anyway, there's like a couple of plays from that
- 37:17Speaker 3: Eagles game where guys are wide open down the field
- 37:20Speaker 3: and he has to reset in the pocket. And they're
- 37:22Speaker 3: like picking up grounders off the you know, off the turf,
- 37:24Speaker 3: and you're you're like he's but he's wide open guy,
- 37:27Speaker 3: like you know, just just you know, lob the ball
- 37:29Speaker 3: to him. Yeah, his accuracy it can be really sporadic,
- 37:32Speaker 3: especially under press.
- 37:33Speaker 5: That's scary.
- 37:34Speaker 7: I feel like we're hitting on like everything I've kind
- 37:36Speaker 7: of felt about this game this week is it's it's
- 37:38Speaker 7: a scary matchup.
- 37:39Speaker 5: You know, they have, they got some guys can make
- 37:41Speaker 5: some plays.
- 37:41Speaker 3: That's because the Patriots are not absolutely game.
- 37:45Speaker 4: That's the fear should be gone because what do you
- 37:47Speaker 4: mean I've got to win three and six.
- 37:51Speaker 3: But you also just like don't want to get embarrassed
- 37:54Speaker 3: at home by the command Like even if you lose
- 37:56Speaker 3: the game and it's you know.
- 37:59Speaker 7: Just like one of the was like this is one
- 38:00Speaker 7: of those teams like you can't lose to the Commanders,
- 38:03Speaker 7: like right, you know, like even if they're pretty good,
- 38:05Speaker 7: like they just has that they have. They're one of
- 38:06Speaker 7: those teams that has that like bad team stink on them.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Yeah, like Washington. Yeah, but they're okay, they're okay, kind
- 38:14Speaker 4: of like the Raiders.
- 38:15Speaker 1: So not a bad situation for a head coach to
- 38:17Speaker 1: walk into. Oh god, Sam how all right? Eight five
- 38:21Speaker 1: five Pats five hundred is the ace sticking hotline web
- 38:24Speaker 1: radio at Patriots dot Com And it's email.
- 38:26Speaker 4: To Fred, do it to somebody else for a James.
- 38:29Speaker 4: It's refreshing half hour for me.
- 38:31Speaker 3: I guess to keep the enemy then maybe in business.
- 38:34Speaker 7: I loved the enemy when he's in college at Colorado,
- 38:36Speaker 7: he was one of my I don't know, I always remember.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Sleeping with the enemy.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Yeah, just ran like a terror, you know.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I did like him.
- 38:41Speaker 5: I always had like the Pats with like the half shirt.
- 38:44Speaker 4: I like those Colorado teams. They always were like kind
- 38:47Speaker 4: of on the edge.
- 38:47Speaker 5: It's like Cordell Stewart time right the same time, right.
- 38:50Speaker 3: I can't really give him too much credit for the
- 38:53Speaker 3: design of the offense because it's it's Andy Reid's playbook, right,
- 38:55Speaker 3: Like he's just running the Chiefs offense. But he's a
- 38:57Speaker 3: good play Do you think he's a head coach sideration?
- 39:00Speaker 5: And we talk a lot about like Hayle in New.
- 39:02Speaker 4: England next year, if Bill goes to Washington, I don't
- 39:05Speaker 4: know who said that he should.
- 39:06Speaker 5: Be one of those offensive coordinator guys that.
- 39:08Speaker 1: You know, The only thing about it is he's been
- 39:10Speaker 1: interviewed so many times off this was a.
- 39:13Speaker 7: Good move for him to I think, you know, to
- 39:14Speaker 7: get out from underneath Andy Reid and to run his
- 39:16Speaker 7: own offense. And you know, I mean it's it's I mean,
- 39:19Speaker 7: for all the issues we've talked about, it's you know, look,
- 39:21Speaker 7: they don't have the best quarterback, but they're producing.
- 39:24Speaker 5: You know, they're producing more points than they producing.
- 39:25Speaker 3: I mean, they have they have good they have decent receivers. Yeah,
- 39:29Speaker 3: Like you know, Terry mclaurin's a good receiver. I think
- 39:31Speaker 3: Dotson is Okay, Okay, I didn't really love Dotson coming out,
- 39:35Speaker 3: to be honest with you, but I think that he's
- 39:38Speaker 3: all right. And uh, you know Tamara's guy, Logan Thomas
- 39:41Speaker 3: is like, you know, kind of sneaky, giant red zone guy.
- 39:43Speaker 4: So they have you know, McLaren has forty two, Samuel
- 39:46Speaker 4: has thirty five, and Dotson has thirty you know, like
- 39:49Speaker 4: that's three receivers like the Patriots have one guy. Yep,
- 39:53Speaker 4: that's over twenty five and he towards a cl right, oh.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, let's get to the because we've
- 40:00Speaker 1: got a hurry today. Is pick stay. And by the way,
- 40:06Speaker 1: somebody bought us lunch today, Pete Ottawa.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Thanks Pete.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Oh he's done that before.
- 40:12Speaker 4: That's nice.
- 40:12Speaker 1: And he had a comment that I want to read
- 40:15Speaker 1: because you buy lunch, you get whatever you have to say.
- 40:18Speaker 1: You say it. Yesterday he says, Mike brought up the
- 40:20Speaker 1: drafting classes the drafting is enough of a reason to
- 40:24Speaker 1: let Bill go at the end of the season. Brady
- 40:26Speaker 1: hid the flaws of the drafting for years. Just my thoughts.
- 40:29Speaker 1: So I know that's shared by many people.
- 40:31Speaker 3: I said this on Catch twenty two, So sorry if
- 40:34Speaker 3: it's repetitive, but like I don't like that. I don't
- 40:38Speaker 3: like that that I feel like it does it like
- 40:42Speaker 3: does a disservice for the other players that were on
- 40:45Speaker 3: the teams with Brady. Yeah, Like so they they they
- 40:50Speaker 3: he covered up things for years, Like if you want
- 40:52Speaker 3: to say he covered up things in like eighteen and
- 40:56Speaker 3: they won the Super Bowl with a roster that maybe
- 40:58Speaker 3: wasn't as loaded as it has in the past. Like
- 41:00Speaker 3: I guess I could hear that argument, like go look
- 41:03Speaker 3: at the twenty sixteen in twenty fourteen Patriots rosters, you know,
- 41:08Speaker 3: on both sides of the ball, like they were so
- 41:12Speaker 3: loaded on defense that some of the guys that ended
- 41:15Speaker 3: up being on contributors on the sixteen team couldn't even
- 41:18Speaker 3: get on the field for the fourteen team because they
- 41:20Speaker 3: had too many guys in front of them. So, I
- 41:23Speaker 3: don't know, I just feel like it's not to discount Brady.
- 41:25Speaker 3: I just think that you're discounting the guys that played
- 41:28Speaker 3: with him when you're saying that, like you're telling me
- 41:30Speaker 3: that Brady covered up like Devin mccordy and Dante high
- 41:33Speaker 3: Tower being on his defense for half a decade, Like, okay,
- 41:38Speaker 3: I guess.
- 41:39Speaker 4: He had to cover up those two guys.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Fair points. Those were Bill Belichick draft.
- 41:43Speaker 5: Now it's it. I mean, it's meant more as a
- 41:44Speaker 5: shot at Bill. I think that's what you know. People
- 41:47Speaker 5: just that's that's where they live, Brady or Bill. I
- 41:49Speaker 5: just feel like the defense that's not really part of
- 41:52Speaker 5: the conversation.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Like Evan said, they're they're not giving credit to those
- 41:57Speaker 1: players who were on those rosters.
- 41:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I am at what those guys think about.
- 42:01Speaker 7: When people were like it was all Brady, it was
- 42:03Speaker 7: all Brady.
- 42:04Speaker 5: We know it now it was all Brady, you know,
- 42:06Speaker 5: And it's like yes, but you know, I mean, of
- 42:09Speaker 5: course it's a team.
- 42:10Speaker 3: The big picture might have been all Brady, right, like
- 42:12Speaker 3: Brady might have been the engine of the entire thing
- 42:15Speaker 3: and not Bill and that that I think has been
- 42:17Speaker 3: been told. That story has been told. But you know,
- 42:20Speaker 3: their rosters when they won super Bowls were mostly incredible
- 42:25Speaker 3: from top to bat.
- 42:26Speaker 1: At fourteen, they brought in Revis.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Yes, they brought in that long brand Brandon Browner.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Yeah, they you know, missed more games than he played,
- 42:34Speaker 4: but that's but when he played, he made a difference.
- 42:36Speaker 5: Just that one year, right, that was at one point.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's about it. Kind of the biggest play
- 42:40Speaker 3: in the season.
- 42:41Speaker 5: He had a big hit in San Diego. That was
- 42:43Speaker 5: that he lit some guy up and got called for tea.
- 42:45Speaker 4: I mean, what what, I'll set that one out. What
- 42:50Speaker 4: I just think that you you can cherry pick a
- 42:52Speaker 4: team that was really stacked and you ignore like two
- 42:57Speaker 4: thousand and six where he drags a corpse of a
- 42:59Speaker 4: team to the Afcchampionship game. You know, twenty eighteen, he
- 43:02Speaker 4: drags a corpse of a team to a Super Bowl.
- 43:05Speaker 4: You know, even sixteen they had down twenty eight to three,
- 43:08Speaker 4: like nobody else does that. Nobody else wins that, and
- 43:11Speaker 4: no one's disagreeing with that point. It was Brady, it
- 43:14Speaker 4: was okay, I mean they have good players with them,
- 43:16Speaker 4: but so these other players don't deserve any credit. No,
- 43:19Speaker 4: I didn't say they don't deserve any but the guy's
- 43:21Speaker 4: larger point, Pete. I kind of agree with Pete. I
- 43:25Speaker 4: think since like that was twenty twelve, that that you
- 43:29Speaker 4: got high tower in that crew. So since then, there's
- 43:33Speaker 4: been a lot of misses in the draft, and it
- 43:36Speaker 4: didn't really affect him because Brady was here and he
- 43:39Speaker 4: overcame it. I mean twenty fourteen, like the top wide
- 43:42Speaker 4: receiver was what Edelman in, Brandon LaFell, Quinn, Brady Propkowski,
- 43:50Speaker 4: he was yeah, and he was great.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:51Speaker 4: And there's a handful of great players, there's no question
- 43:54Speaker 4: about it. Not that many though. Okay, So everybody wants
- 43:57Speaker 4: to complain and say that they don't have a lot
- 43:59Speaker 4: of Hall of Fame player.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Well, how many great players does each team have?
- 44:02Speaker 4: I mean that's just more than Brady.
- 44:04Speaker 3: So in twenty fourteen, all right, the team that won
- 44:07Speaker 3: the Super Bowl in twenty.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Fourteen, again, will cherry pick the one team? Okay, you
- 44:11Speaker 4: cherry picked the two thousand. I just rattled off about five, five, sixteen, fourteen, seven, three,
- 44:20Speaker 4: it's amazing, right three though three was not a loaded team.
- 44:24Speaker 1: It was not defensively oh four was Tyron Pulls stunk
- 44:29Speaker 1: one guy Otis.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Smith like that they had. Like I just I'm telling you,
- 44:35Speaker 4: I just think the longer he is away, the more
- 44:37Speaker 4: disrespect that gets attached to him, like Brady, Yeah, because
- 44:41Speaker 4: because it's like somehow makes.
- 44:42Speaker 1: People feel that it's the opposite pot.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Somehow people feel bad that they won six, but we
- 44:47Speaker 4: don't get the amount of credit that we should because
- 44:49Speaker 4: Brady gets the credit and like you get no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 44:53Speaker 4: no total.
- 44:53Speaker 1: I think it just I think the longer away Brady
- 44:55Speaker 1: gets more credit. That's and that's the point is at
- 44:59Speaker 1: what point do you lose sight of the fact that
- 45:02Speaker 1: he had good players on his teams too, Like they
- 45:05Speaker 1: weren't a bunch of stiffs.
- 45:06Speaker 4: That's all I'm saying. I'm saying I would say that
- 45:09Speaker 4: that's true like in one, three, and four, Like he
- 45:12Speaker 4: wasn't the guy who carried the team to a title, no.
- 45:14Speaker 1: No, but he could that he can still be the
- 45:17Speaker 1: guy who carried all of those teams. But like to
- 45:20Speaker 1: say that he covered up all these warts he had.
- 45:24Speaker 4: I think it's largely true.
- 45:25Speaker 1: He had some good players.
- 45:26Speaker 4: I agree with Pete. Pete, I'm with you, and I
- 45:28Speaker 4: appreciate you buying lunch today.
- 45:30Speaker 3: I don't think anybody is discrediting Brady. I I mean Brady,
- 45:34Speaker 3: Like I just said, it's the engine that put it
- 45:36Speaker 3: all together. And there are definitely years where he carried
- 45:39Speaker 3: teams that shouldn't have one.
- 45:40Speaker 1: When any of those rosters have won super Bowls without Brady,
- 45:43Speaker 1: probably not, you need, they needed a great quarterback.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Many words in there, you know, but like probably they
- 45:50Speaker 4: had some necessary They had good.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Players on those teams.
- 45:53Speaker 3: You know, good coaches too.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean I think there's just ebbs and
- 45:58Speaker 5: flows too.
- 45:58Speaker 7: If you're gonna play for twenty years, not every year,
- 46:01Speaker 7: you're gonna you know, you're gonna have injury. They're gonna have,
- 46:04Speaker 7: you know, years where personnel moves just don't work out.
- 46:07Speaker 7: And I think he was able to keep the ship steady.
- 46:10Speaker 1: And you know six is a good example.
- 46:13Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, and you know, to Paul's point, some
- 46:15Speaker 7: of that self inflicted, you know, some of that stuff
- 46:17Speaker 7: where you know, just signed fricking Dion Branch, you probably
- 46:21Speaker 7: would have had another super Bowl. And I mean I
- 46:23Speaker 7: think that was, you know, as much as Lawyer Malloy
- 46:25Speaker 7: was was kind of a shot across the bow of this,
- 46:28Speaker 7: you know, how things were going to go here. I mean,
- 46:29Speaker 7: I think Branch was really like the really like, you know,
- 46:33Speaker 7: that's Brady's guy. I mean, he's just coming, you know,
- 46:35Speaker 7: two years he's the super Bowl MVP. The guy had
- 46:37Speaker 7: like twenty catches in the last two Super Bowls. You know,
- 46:39Speaker 7: I think that was a little bit more of a
- 46:41Speaker 7: harbinger of you know, some of the decisions they would
- 46:43Speaker 7: make that that ultimately kind of cost them.
- 46:45Speaker 5: I think in some areas, I.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Just think there's a difference between like, they won super
- 46:48Speaker 3: Bowls and they were great because of Brady. And I
- 46:50Speaker 3: don't think anybody denies that point to this point anymore.
- 46:54Speaker 3: But I just think that I I still want to
- 46:58Speaker 3: give credit to some of the other players on the team,
- 47:01Speaker 3: and I think when we just say it's all Brady,
- 47:03Speaker 3: it was one hundred percent Brady, you're just not giving
- 47:06Speaker 3: credit to a lot of guys that played a lot
- 47:10Speaker 3: of really really good football, and you're.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Not giving credit for Bill for constructing those teams.
- 47:16Speaker 3: I give him less credit. Okay, I give the players more.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Well, but that but body had to bring him in here.
- 47:21Speaker 4: No, no, no, your your point is fair. I just
- 47:24Speaker 4: you know, I I you know.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I think the whole point is is that the players
- 47:29Speaker 3: drove this more than maybe we realized.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Okay, all right, eight five five pats, five hundred. Let's
- 47:34Speaker 1: go to Eddie and La. What's up Eddie?
- 47:38Speaker 7: What's up?
- 47:39Speaker 5: Guys?
- 47:39Speaker 8: I love the show.
- 47:41Speaker 11: I want to ask you guys about the wide receiver rooms.
- 47:44Speaker 8: So we lost KB.
- 47:45Speaker 11: I want to know who you guys think can step
- 47:48Speaker 11: up and maybe give us like a glimpse of.
- 47:49Speaker 12: Hope for the future.
- 47:51Speaker 11: And I will exclude Tomorrow Douglas just because obviously he's
- 47:55Speaker 11: the one that's kind of breaking out right now. But
- 47:57Speaker 11: lost you guys think can have a better season? And
- 48:00Speaker 11: one more question, obviously, well, Levis had a kind of
- 48:04Speaker 11: a crazy game.
- 48:05Speaker 8: Last week, and I'm not like hyped up about it,
- 48:08Speaker 8: but if.
- 48:09Speaker 11: He has a good, not great season, just a good one,
- 48:12Speaker 11: do you guys count it as a miss on the
- 48:14Speaker 11: scouting department. That's all I got for you, guys.
- 48:16Speaker 8: Love to show him by Thanks.
- 48:19Speaker 5: Where did he go? Exactly?
- 48:20Speaker 4: I don't know. Second second, I personally don't. I don't
- 48:23Speaker 4: think they were in line for a quarterback in the
- 48:25Speaker 4: first round last year, do you know, No, No, I
- 48:28Speaker 4: mean should have been. Do you think they should have
- 48:30Speaker 4: been looking for a quarterback?
- 48:31Speaker 5: I would not not where he went, and you know,
- 48:34Speaker 5: not a consideration if you think.
- 48:36Speaker 4: The second round, like the second thing, I wouldn't have
- 48:39Speaker 4: taken him there. I mean, like if he was available,
- 48:40Speaker 4: like in the middle rounds and you just like that
- 48:42Speaker 4: whole drafting quarterbacks is good business.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Kind of a lot of teams missed.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Fine, yeah, probably, I don't think the Patriots should have
- 48:49Speaker 4: been in the market for a quarterback overall first time,
- 48:54Speaker 4: you know.
- 48:54Speaker 7: But the first question, yeah, which was again kind of
- 48:57Speaker 7: a roundtable question. I don't like saying this, and I'm sorry,
- 49:00Speaker 7: but I think you got to give you to a shot, like,
- 49:03Speaker 7: you know, if he's healthy and and and he can go,
- 49:06Speaker 7: I mean he kind of does. He's supposed to be
- 49:07Speaker 7: able to do what Boorne kind of does with a
- 49:08Speaker 7: little bit, with the most experience he's got.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Experience you paid him.
- 49:12Speaker 7: Like at some point, you know, I feel like they
- 49:14Speaker 7: just have to say, look, we have to really put
- 49:17Speaker 7: you out there and and and give you a.
- 49:18Speaker 5: High volume of work.
- 49:19Speaker 7: And it's I mean, everybody out there screaming at their
- 49:21Speaker 7: radio right now saying.
- 49:22Speaker 5: It's to be kijon Booty, it's got to be Taekwon Thornton.
- 49:25Speaker 7: And I, you know, I kind of agree, but just
- 49:27Speaker 7: from an organizational standpoint with what you've given this guy
- 49:30Speaker 7: and what the expectations are, and you really need him
- 49:32Speaker 7: right now to step up, and so I just I
- 49:34Speaker 7: feel like you put it on him and say, can
- 49:36Speaker 7: you do it?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Booty? Eh? But I Taekwon, I for the same reason.
- 49:41Speaker 1: I'm we drafted you in the second round and I'm sorry,
- 49:46Speaker 1: but you need to start producing.
- 49:48Speaker 7: And I think that, yeah, yeah, I mean for Parker's absence.
- 49:52Speaker 7: I think that that that Thornton makes a lot of sense.
- 49:54Speaker 7: And same kind of thing, like throw him out there,
- 49:57Speaker 7: let him play on the outside, you know, keep pop
- 49:59Speaker 7: out there and then know make it. It's going to
- 50:00Speaker 7: be Thornton and Juju. Maybe that's the primary kind of two.
- 50:03Speaker 1: And you know, by the way, can we have time
- 50:05Speaker 1: Montgomery get out.
- 50:06Speaker 5: I don't know what he's like, I don't know what
- 50:07Speaker 5: he does.
- 50:08Speaker 7: I don't know why he's here, Like they don't use
- 50:10Speaker 7: him for anything, Like he returns kicks and covers kicks.
- 50:13Speaker 1: He watches the ball sail over his head on kickoffs.
- 50:15Speaker 5: You know, I just I mean, and everyone makes fun
- 50:19Speaker 5: of us, but you know, every practice we watched he
- 50:21Speaker 5: seems like kind of can play. And then we've gott
- 50:23Speaker 5: into the season and he's just like.
- 50:24Speaker 4: The way it looks when he's on the fold.
- 50:26Speaker 5: Damn in games, all of a sudden, it's like, no,
- 50:28Speaker 5: this is the time Montgomery of j.
- 50:30Speaker 4: Was picked once and almost picked the other.
- 50:33Speaker 5: It just happened to bounce into his hands.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Maybe play my running back not receiver, right, I would
- 50:39Speaker 3: I would say that for Parker it's obviously Taekwon, and
- 50:42Speaker 3: for you know, for Bourn it's obviously Booty. Like those
- 50:45Speaker 3: are the that's they're different types of players. So I
- 50:48Speaker 3: don't know, I'm interested to see Booty if they let
- 50:53Speaker 3: him play. I'm still not sol they're going to let
- 50:55Speaker 3: him play. If they let him play, him playing in
- 50:58Speaker 3: born spot is definitely more his now position and playing
- 51:01Speaker 3: on the boundary like he did in week one, So
- 51:04Speaker 3: maybe that maybe he does show us a little something
- 51:07Speaker 3: something if he's actually playing the role he should be playing.
- 51:10Speaker 4: He's not an X.
- 51:11Speaker 5: What do you think they're gonna do with Juju?
- 51:13Speaker 9: Then?
- 51:13Speaker 4: Do you think they just left him?
- 51:15Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:15Speaker 3: I mean, like I just I don't see what Juju's
- 51:18Speaker 3: purpose is beyond this year, And like, I think you
- 51:23Speaker 3: have to get some answers about some of these younger receivers.
- 51:26Speaker 4: That's kind of how I answered it. Yeah, thinking in
- 51:29Speaker 4: those terms, I think I know what Parker is. I
- 51:31Speaker 4: think I know what Juju is. You know, I was looking,
- 51:34Speaker 4: what are these young guys that we haven't seen at all?
- 51:37Speaker 1: Do you think what might what might.
- 51:38Speaker 4: They be able to think?
- 51:39Speaker 1: It builds hard of hearts. He believes that the season
- 51:42Speaker 1: can be turned around.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Yes, yep, that's I think a big problem.
- 51:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:46Speaker 3: I think he believes that they could win like eight
- 51:48Speaker 3: straight games and be right back in it.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:50Speaker 5: I mean I kind of agree with I think that's
- 51:52Speaker 5: in the back of his head.
- 51:53Speaker 7: And I still think he just kind of continued to
- 51:54Speaker 7: agree sometimes to approach things like he always has, which
- 51:57Speaker 7: in a way I kind of, you know, admire, but
- 51:58Speaker 7: it's just Washington. We're focused on short term and you know,
- 52:02Speaker 7: and and I think what he doesn't probably like concretely
- 52:06Speaker 7: think about like, well and if we win one, we
- 52:07Speaker 7: can it's it's we have to win one game.
- 52:09Speaker 5: And then I know that we can start saying.
- 52:11Speaker 1: It was an innocent comment, but it really stood out
- 52:13Speaker 1: to me when he was talking about Washington, and you know,
- 52:16Speaker 1: they want to see what their young guys can do.
- 52:17Speaker 1: So yeah, he acknowledges that that is a way to
- 52:21Speaker 1: approach a game, like there's no other way than to
- 52:24Speaker 1: play and they got three. He acknowledges that that's a
- 52:26Speaker 1: mindset that you could have.
- 52:28Speaker 4: I agree. I don't read much into it, though. I
- 52:30Speaker 4: think that's a I think that's Bill's m O when
- 52:34Speaker 4: he's talking up the other team, Like, don't think just
- 52:36Speaker 4: because they traded away their two best players that means
- 52:39Speaker 4: they're going to mail it in. They're coming at us
- 52:41Speaker 4: with young guys. They want to see what those young
- 52:43Speaker 4: guys can do. That's his version of two thousand and four.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Cleveland can score from anywhere on the field, Like I'm
- 52:49Speaker 4: going to make sure I tell you something good about
- 52:50Speaker 4: the other team.
- 52:51Speaker 3: They have Josh Cribbs. But I think that that's, you know,
- 52:56Speaker 3: that's the difference that I am concerned. Like Mike, you said, juju.
- 52:59Speaker 3: I think they're saying juju because they are still trying
- 53:03Speaker 3: to win games, and I I there's something to be
- 53:05Speaker 3: said for that. I'm not trying to like knock them
- 53:06Speaker 3: for it. But at what point And this kind of
- 53:09Speaker 3: goes back to the Jared Sidham Cam Newton things like, right, like,
- 53:13Speaker 3: at what point do we get to the point of
- 53:15Speaker 3: the season where it's like, all right, well now we
- 53:17Speaker 3: really need to see what Kaishan Boody can do. Right,
- 53:21Speaker 3: you know, maybe Kaishan Boody can play a little bit
- 53:24Speaker 3: and he has to be active in the game. Oh,
- 53:26Speaker 3: he'll be active, but will he play.
- 53:31Speaker 4: I mean Rager, Thornton, Thornton, Booty, Juju, pop and pop right,
- 53:37Speaker 4: so pop juju and Rager. So yeah, you know you're right,
- 53:40Speaker 4: there's a chance that he doesn't have a role.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I suppose Anthony's in Seattle. Hey, Anthony, Hey, what's
- 53:47Speaker 1: up my people?
- 53:48Speaker 12: Hey?
- 53:49Speaker 9: Hey?
- 53:49Speaker 8: Uh so I'm calling it, Evan, I got your back, man,
- 53:52Speaker 8: and listen. I'm sorry for always being a couple of
- 53:54Speaker 8: days behind, but I don't listen live. But Tuesday's argument
- 53:57Speaker 8: I had to jump in, so, uh, I'm with Evan
- 54:00Speaker 8: on you know, he made a statement like, you know
- 54:02Speaker 8: this our resources need to go to offense. This defense
- 54:05Speaker 8: went healthy is I think this defense is set. I'm
- 54:08Speaker 8: with Evan on that, and you guys, there was kind
- 54:10Speaker 8: of some pushback from from Paul and Fred on you know,
- 54:13Speaker 8: whether or not we have great players or you know,
- 54:16Speaker 8: whatever way you want to superlatives or whatever you want
- 54:19Speaker 8: to use. I'm going to use the term big time
- 54:21Speaker 8: players or high end players. I think we got small
- 54:24Speaker 8: sample size, but Gonzo definitely Judon, who may not be
- 54:27Speaker 8: part of this team's future, but he's has currently constituted
- 54:30Speaker 8: another high end player. And then you guys, I think
- 54:33Speaker 8: you guys might disagree with this because I feel like
- 54:34Speaker 8: he gets down played. But I think Kyle Duggar, he's
- 54:37Speaker 8: been my favorite player since like his second year in
- 54:39Speaker 8: the league. I've never seen the guy get moved backwards.
- 54:42Speaker 8: I think last year he blossomed into that more of
- 54:45Speaker 8: a playmaker, and now they're taking him away from the
- 54:46Speaker 8: line of scrimmage. But I think that's another high end player,
- 54:49Speaker 8: whether or not you guys agree or not. And then
- 54:51Speaker 8: a couple like young potential ones. But I got to
- 54:54Speaker 8: play the guys, but I think White when he plays
- 54:57Speaker 8: Barimore is inconsistent, but he showed he can be a force.
- 55:00Speaker 8: And I would love to see mapu uh play play
- 55:05Speaker 8: linebacker and see what's what's there, because I think there's
- 55:07Speaker 8: a lot of potential there. My last point, and i'll
- 55:10Speaker 8: get off the line, is the forty nine Ers defense
- 55:12Speaker 8: was brought up and Paul said, oh, they have great players. Well,
- 55:15Speaker 8: I say, sure, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, but but who
- 55:18Speaker 8: else because I don't think we don't have anybody on
- 55:21Speaker 8: our front seven like those two guys. But I don't
- 55:23Speaker 8: think they have anybody in their secondary like like like
- 55:26Speaker 8: Gonzales or or or Dougger.
- 55:28Speaker 4: They don't have anybody like or Gonzales and play.
- 55:32Speaker 8: With Leeds and their offense score so they get they're
- 55:35Speaker 8: in favorable positions where their defense gets to showcase their talent.
- 55:39Speaker 8: And so I think I just want to push back
- 55:41Speaker 8: on our our I think our defense is doing healthy.
- 55:43Speaker 1: All right, thanks Anthony. I think my stance on that
- 55:45Speaker 1: was in today's NFL. The Patriots have a defense that's that's.
- 55:49Speaker 7: Fine, that's good enough, But we're saying that I agree
- 55:51Speaker 7: with you what the defense is supposed to be though,
- 55:53Speaker 7: right like with judah On and Gonzales not current as currently.
- 55:57Speaker 4: At full strength, I mean Gonzales played three games now.
- 56:00Speaker 4: But yeah, I think they're fine. I totally agree with Fred.
- 56:03Speaker 4: I agreed with you on Tuesday on.
- 56:05Speaker 1: That Eldred's in North Carolina. Hey Aldred, Aldred, Hey Fellas.
- 56:13Speaker 12: Yeah, okay, talk about that. Uh, Evan, I would love
- 56:17Speaker 12: to argue with you, but I ain't got time. Paul
- 56:20Speaker 12: agree with you in Pete and.
- 56:21Speaker 13: We'll always kick that, kick that out of me.
- 56:23Speaker 12: But question y'all was talking about Bill maybe going to
- 56:26Speaker 12: the commanders, and uh, I know, I know it's just
- 56:30Speaker 12: how but if I was the players on that, I'd
- 56:33Speaker 12: be kind of worried because of the roster building he
- 56:36Speaker 12: does in New England. So that means but Terry and Dodson,
- 56:40Speaker 12: whoever come up with a contract, they won't get paid
- 56:42Speaker 12: to get away. Yeah, definite, I'll be worried about. I
- 56:46Speaker 12: think we're gonna keep him another year.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Ye'll have a good one, all right, thanks, Eldred.
- 56:51Speaker 5: Just first move trade Terry McLaurin.
- 56:53Speaker 3: I just I think he's talking about the whole, the
- 56:56Speaker 3: whole preidy thing, and like, I don't know, I didn't
- 57:00Speaker 3: I don't think like we disagree as much as as.
- 57:02Speaker 4: Oh, it's not like I don't think it was like
- 57:05Speaker 4: all Brady, I just don't think you want anything without them,
- 57:08Speaker 4: that's all. Yeah, I agree with that.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Will's and Florida he will.
- 57:14Speaker 13: Any how you guys doing. I wanted to call in
- 57:17Speaker 13: and address something Mike said at the top of the
- 57:20Speaker 13: show that kind of struck a chord with me when
- 57:23Speaker 13: he said that he finds it weird or hard so
- 57:27Speaker 13: root for the other team or for root for our
- 57:29Speaker 13: Lossit that couldn't be further from the truth for me, dude,
- 57:31Speaker 13: it's it's I literally wear pom poms for the other
- 57:35Speaker 13: team weekly. Why would you Why would you want this
- 57:38Speaker 13: team to win any games? I fell into a mini
- 57:40Speaker 13: depression when we beat.
- 57:42Speaker 3: Buffalong because there's other ways, Like, there's other ways to
- 57:47Speaker 3: do it. I think that the notion that you have
- 57:50Speaker 3: to tank and that's the only way out of this
- 57:54Speaker 3: is incorrect. I think that it's been proven to be incorrect.
- 57:58Speaker 3: In fact, like I don't think a lot of teams
- 58:00Speaker 3: that have tanked have uh you know, really, I think
- 58:05Speaker 3: there's a lot of proof that that doesn't work. Yeah,
- 58:07Speaker 3: you know, I mean, your roster is completely in shambles
- 58:11Speaker 3: if that's what you want, and.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Plus losing breeds losing. It's a culture thing and I
- 58:15Speaker 1: can't tell you you know, and I know, well you
- 58:17Speaker 1: weren't here. But after that Bills win, I mean our office,
- 58:22Speaker 1: it was like Wow, everyone like came in with a
- 58:25Speaker 1: jump in their step and it just felt a lot better.
- 58:31Speaker 13: Everybody just ma I'm like, I feel like I'm in
- 58:35Speaker 13: the twilight zone. Like I feel like I just want
- 58:38Speaker 13: to stand at the top of a mountain and just
- 58:41Speaker 13: is not good.
- 58:45Speaker 4: If Jeff and new Bedford wants a word, but I
- 58:48Speaker 4: just don't.
- 58:49Speaker 3: I don't think it's just like about Mac being are
- 58:52Speaker 3: good or not. It's just it's about there's fifty two
- 58:54Speaker 3: other guys on the team and like, you know, you gotta,
- 58:58Speaker 3: you gotta. I think that there's a ways to do it,
- 59:00Speaker 3: Like that's it.
- 59:01Speaker 5: But it's like, but this whole conversation we just had
- 59:03Speaker 5: about Brady, like if.
- 59:05Speaker 7: You're being realistic about really believing that that they don't
- 59:08Speaker 7: win anything without the quarterback, Like, how do you not
- 59:10Speaker 7: say the thing that makes most sense right now for
- 59:13Speaker 7: the better betterment of this franchise is to lose every
- 59:16Speaker 7: single game and try to get Caleb Williams because a
- 59:18Speaker 7: quarterback is what you need in this league period, Like
- 59:21Speaker 7: doesn't matter if you don't if you don't have that guy,
- 59:23Speaker 7: you're not going anywhere.
- 59:24Speaker 5: You're not winning anything.
- 59:25Speaker 4: So I think it's the reality and the truth of
- 59:27Speaker 4: that that but the danger in that and why I don't.
- 59:31Speaker 4: I don't do that, like I and I understand why
- 59:33Speaker 4: people do, but I don't. I don't root for losses
- 59:36Speaker 4: with my team because there's just no there's no guarantee. Yeah,
- 59:39Speaker 4: like that that guy is going to do what you
- 59:43Speaker 4: think he's going to do, you know, and and not
- 59:45Speaker 4: not suggesting you don't draft him, you know, And that's you.
- 59:48Speaker 5: Know, it's just hard to say we're gonna lose every
- 59:50Speaker 5: game on purpose to get them right.
- 59:51Speaker 4: And I know that no one loses every game on purpose.
- 59:54Speaker 4: I've been through that a million times. Like you know,
- 59:56Speaker 4: Arizona's doing it perfectly right now. Like they the kids
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: go out there and try hard, they're not going to
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: be good. And I do think and I don't know
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: how good the coaches, but I know they play hard
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: for him. So I do think that they're they're sort
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: of establishing some kind of culture. Even though they're won
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: and seven they play really hard. Now I don't know
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: what's going to happen, Like I would let Kyler Murray
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: play and figure out, because maybe you don't have to
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: have that top pick, and right, you know, if he
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: comes back and you think he's working and you know
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: all that stuff, and you don't have to take a
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: quarterback with with the pick that you're going to get
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: first of all, there's no pressure to have to get
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: one number one. So in other words, if you win
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: these games, you're not in a depression like Will and Florida.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: Or you get your next Larry Fitzgerald.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: Right, maybe you take Marvin Harrison, maybe you take a
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: stud on defense, maybe you take a tat, I don't know,
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: whatever you want. If Kyler Murray proves that he's healthy
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: and productive and Jonathan Gannon likes him.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: I just also think that that, you know, I think
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: the reason why Patriots fans want them to tank, or
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: some Patriots fans want them to tank, is because this
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: organization has not really shown that they are aggressive in
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: the draft to trade up. So an only way to
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: get the quarterback is if you actually have the pick
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: originally to take the quarterback. But so many other teams
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: have have traded up for the quarterback that weren't a
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: complete mess to tank to get to the number one pick,
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: And I just I think that there's that's where it
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: comes in as well, Like you know, Kansas City trade
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: traded up for Patrick Mahomes and drafted him like tenth overall.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Now that that was a kind of a fluke that
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: he fell that far, I guess you could say. But
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: they were a really good team with Alex Smith. They
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: were a playoff team, and they knew that it wasn't
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: good enough that they had, you know, a ceiling, and
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: then they traded up for Patrick Mahomes and here they are.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: So it just that's why I think that tanking can't
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: be the only answer there. There's a several other ways
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: to do it.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know, most recently, I guess the
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: most famous team or most famous tank was the Colts,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: right how they got Andrew.
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: Luck and Jacksonville kind of tank for Lauren See it
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: turned out that way, But they didn't know that Peyton
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: Manning wasn't going to be able to play that season.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Like they didn't go into the twenty eleven season saying
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: Andrew Lux coming out next year. What do we gotta
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: do to make sure we get him?
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: But once they knew there was, there was.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: But I actually think it was the opposite, and I
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: think that they gross. I think Poleon made a gross
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: mistake by signing Kerry Collins like five days before the
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: season saying he's going to be my quarterback, because he
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: foolishly thought we can win games and make it with
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: this guy. It should have been Tanka Palooza right from
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: the start. It ended up that way.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: He got Lucky Curtis Painter, he got lucky Kim Newton again.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna take a break. As you can see,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Paul's feast is here. Thank you Pete Nattawa for buying
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: lunch today. Appreciate that, and we'll be right back after this.

- 1:03:46Speaker 10: joining me again that you might as.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Well just be the co host.
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: I want myself coch you know what?
- 1:03:50Speaker 10: Yeah, add that tear resume real quick, guys, this is
- 1:03:54Speaker 10: going to be the last halftime show for a while
- 1:03:56Speaker 10: because the Pats are going to deutsch Land. So let's
- 1:04:01Speaker 10: have a quick Thursday night football preview as we've been doing.
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: I think people like it. We want a good game.
- 1:04:07Speaker 10: But Faith, as always, we are going to start with
- 1:04:09Speaker 10: some trivia. All right, awesome, there's a hint. You can
- 1:04:14Speaker 10: find the answer to this on some Patriots content, maybe
- 1:04:19Speaker 10: the appf Coffin hint. All right, question one, And guys,
- 1:04:22Speaker 10: this is to win either a poster or a T shirt.
- 1:04:25Speaker 10: Matt Morrell is going to send you something good. So
- 1:04:27Speaker 10: Question one. What was the original NFL team awarded to
- 1:04:32Speaker 10: the City of Boston slash New England in nineteen thirty two?
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: All right, way back? Question two. The Patriots last played
- 1:04:41Speaker 10: the Commanders at home on Week nine of twenty fifteen
- 1:04:45Speaker 10: in a twenty seven to ten victory. That in that game,
- 1:04:49Speaker 10: the leading Patriots receiver had five receptions for one hundred
- 1:04:51Speaker 10: and two yards.
- 1:04:52Speaker 9: Who was it?
- 1:04:54Speaker 10: Question three. In an off season where the Patriots signed
- 1:04:59Speaker 10: famous wide receiver chad Ocho Cinco Johnson, which other former
- 1:05:03Speaker 10: Washington player did they also sign a little Washington?
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, because I said, hey, hey, send your
- 1:05:10Speaker 10: answers to the web radio Patriots dot com. As I said,
- 1:05:12Speaker 10: there's a hint where you can find them. But Faith,
- 1:05:15Speaker 10: let's get into it Thursday Night football. You know how
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: I am with these games? I just want something fun
- 1:05:20Speaker 10: to watch on a Thursday night, And tonight we got
- 1:05:22Speaker 10: Titans verse the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: All right, I.
- 1:05:28Speaker 9: Feel like this is going to be a very evenly
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: matched game.
- 1:05:30Speaker 10: I think so too, and I think we might be
- 1:05:33Speaker 10: in store for a really good game. We got Will
- 1:05:37Speaker 10: Levis who had his welcome the Mayo Man had his
- 1:05:40Speaker 10: welcome to the NFL moment last week in a exciting
- 1:05:45Speaker 10: twenty eight to three win over the Titans where he
- 1:05:47Speaker 10: had two hundred and thirty eight yards and four touchdowns,
- 1:05:50Speaker 10: with three of those bad boys going to DeAndre Hopkins,
- 1:05:54Speaker 10: who some might say he should be in New England,
- 1:05:55Speaker 10: but that's a different story. And then we had Kenny
- 1:06:01Speaker 10: Pickett who started the game and he got hurt, and
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: I don't know where he's at for this game.
- 1:06:04Speaker 9: According to recent reports, he says that he will be
- 1:06:07Speaker 9: playing on Thursday, So we'll see if that means that
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: he'll start, and then you know, we'll see how the
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: game goes if it kind of gets aggravated as the
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: game goes, but supposedly he's all in.
- 1:06:17Speaker 10: So and you know, they got Deontay Johnson back a
- 1:06:19Speaker 10: wide receiver. Yeah, who he put up eight catches for
- 1:06:22Speaker 10: eighty five yards, so we got, we got.
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: I think this is gonna be really high scoring. I
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: don't see the defenses shining in this game.
- 1:06:29Speaker 10: No, and you know they're both a little banged up
- 1:06:31Speaker 10: because you know it's a quick turnaround. But I mean
- 1:06:34Speaker 10: I'm leaning towards the Titans in this. I think Will
- 1:06:37Speaker 10: Levis keeps the hot streak going. I think you're never
- 1:06:39Speaker 10: gonna see Ryan Tannhill start another game in Tennessee.
- 1:06:41Speaker 15: No.
- 1:06:42Speaker 9: And I also think, like when you have DeAndre Hopkins,
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: like Will Levis just has to get the job done enough. Yeah,
- 1:06:47Speaker 9: get the ball in the general area, and DeAndre Hopkins
- 1:06:49Speaker 9: is gonna be fine. And also his I think like
- 1:06:51Speaker 9: two of his scores, Hopkins was wide open. So like,
- 1:06:55Speaker 9: I feel like they're gonna run all over Pittsburgh's defense.
- 1:06:57Speaker 9: And then if Kenny Pickett is healthy enough, I could
- 1:07:00Speaker 9: see them sticking with it, you know, like keeping it
- 1:07:03Speaker 9: close to the end. But again, I think the Titans
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: are gonna win too. I think you know, they're in
- 1:07:07Speaker 9: a tough spot. I mean, now they're three and four
- 1:07:10Speaker 9: going against the four and three Steelers. I think the
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: Titans pull it out.
- 1:07:13Speaker 10: And they also got King Henry. Don't forget about him.
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: I know it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 10: It's crazy, like these running backs turn thirty and people
- 1:07:20Speaker 10: forget about them, Like, guys, I'm thirty, Like, come on,
- 1:07:23Speaker 10: King Henry just ran for one hundred and one yards.
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: True.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: No, So I had to I had to talk with.
- 1:07:28Speaker 10: A friend who is a Steelers fan, and he says,
- 1:07:32Speaker 10: the Steelers are just stuck in purgatory because Mike Tomlin's
- 1:07:35Speaker 10: too good of a coach, where like he's never had
- 1:07:38Speaker 10: a losing season. So even the team's not that good,
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: still good enough coach that he's going to get them
- 1:07:43Speaker 10: middle of the pack. They might sneak in at the
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: wild card. Yeah, and you know, sometimes, as we are
- 1:07:47Speaker 10: experiencing now, you just need that bad season we can
- 1:07:50Speaker 10: get a difference maker. So I don't know, like I
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: don't know where you're as a Steelers fan because like
- 1:07:55Speaker 10: it's a foreign your four and three, But it's not
- 1:07:57Speaker 10: that convincing.
- 1:07:58Speaker 9: No, I mean, I feel like if they're lucky, they'll
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: squeeze into the wild card for sure.
- 1:08:02Speaker 10: But you got that tough division there, you got, you
- 1:08:04Speaker 10: got Burrow Lamar Jackson, Like you're.
- 1:08:06Speaker 9: Not winning the division, that's for sure. No, like you're
- 1:08:09Speaker 9: you're getting third place in best and I.
- 1:08:11Speaker 10: Mean they have Naji Harris and he's not even their
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: best running back. That was their first round pick in
- 1:08:15Speaker 10: Jalen Warren is Jalen Warren. I think his first name
- 1:08:18Speaker 10: is so yeah, he's very the Nagy Harris in my mind. Yeah,
- 1:08:22Speaker 10: so faith, let's get some score predictions here, all right?
- 1:08:26Speaker 10: We got we thinking shootout?
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: What were we at?
- 1:08:29Speaker 10: What was our Thursday night game last week? It was
- 1:08:31Speaker 10: Bucks Bills and we weren't that far off.
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: No, we weren't that far off. The Bills did end
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: up kind of running away with it.
- 1:08:37Speaker 10: We had the Bucks winning, we had the Bucks winning,
- 1:08:39Speaker 10: but the score the score was similar.
- 1:08:41Speaker 9: Yes, okay, I don't know. I feel like this is
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: going to be high scoring, but like, do you think it?
- 1:08:51Speaker 9: Do you think both teams reached in the thirties too much?
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: I'll go first.
- 1:08:54Speaker 10: I think Tennessee thirty one, Yeah, Steelers like twenty seven,
- 1:09:00Speaker 10: twenty five, twenty seven, I.
- 1:09:02Speaker 9: Can agree with that. Thirty one to twenty seven Titans favor.
- 1:09:05Speaker 9: I feel like this is just gonna be one of
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: those games where I hope the Titans come out strong
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: with it and then like it makes the Steelers have
- 1:09:13Speaker 9: to react, Like I feel like, regardless of what happens,
- 1:09:15Speaker 9: the Steelers are gonna have to be reactionary to how
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: like will Levis is gonna run this game?
- 1:09:21Speaker 10: So I don't know, do we think do we think
- 1:09:23Speaker 10: Will Levis like comes in hot again? And because I
- 1:09:26Speaker 10: wasn't expecting that, I wasn't expecting that last week.
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: I think he's gonna be on this like Brock Party
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: like high for a little bit. I don't know how
- 1:09:33Speaker 9: long it will last. I don't see it lasting, like
- 1:09:36Speaker 9: you know, I don't know, but I think like coming
- 1:09:38Speaker 9: off of last week, his confidence has to be up.
- 1:09:42Speaker 9: Maybe not four touchdowns, maybe not, but like, I still
- 1:09:45Speaker 9: think he's gonna be kind of party for a little bit.
- 1:09:48Speaker 10: Yeah, I feel that. It's funny. My phone's been buzzing
- 1:09:51Speaker 10: all week because all my fantasy leagues Will Levis keeps
- 1:09:53Speaker 10: getting popped picked up on the waiver wire. I know
- 1:09:56Speaker 10: everybody's feel of him. I think I think Party has
- 1:09:59Speaker 10: a solid game. I think the difference maker here is
- 1:10:02Speaker 10: King Henry. I mean every Thursday night game I watch,
- 1:10:05Speaker 10: he has one of those crazy runs. So yeah, I

- 1:11:33Speaker 4: And now great moments in.
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: History credible.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: We'll see if they play. Okay, if they play, then
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: I'll say I was wrong. Okay, but last year they
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: didn't play. The youth didn't play. It took it took
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: like eight weeks from reminder Stevenson to like fully establish
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: himself as a play.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: That job's pretty young.
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: But I feel like they got rid of three of
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: their oldest linebackers and pretty old. You're still beating the
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: old drama as hard as you were beaten last year.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: When they got rid of the old I mean they
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: got rid of like I mean, they're two over two
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: guys linebackers three.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: And they brought back one of them one. Yeah, I
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: don't like them. I want young guys to play. I
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: don't want I don't want McMillan and Bentley to play.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: I want mcgron in Perkins to play. Like, if they
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: do play, I'll say I was wrong. He's playing them.
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: I'm skilled players to play.
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: I don't really care at this point if you're twenty
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: eight or twenty four like that.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: You know what I mean, Like I do like because
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: you're not going to get better with twenty eight year
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: olds that are already cratered in their career. Yeah, that's
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: the way that league goes. Like quarterbacks can play forever,
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: and you know there's there's random exceptions, but linebackers don't
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: generally just keep on plugging.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Offensive linemen can play longer.
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, there's always exceptions. I'm not telling you that again.
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: When I use the terms like always never, no one everyone, like,
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: I don't mean those terms literally. They're always accept it's
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: have meaning. That's another great moment from.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: All right back here on Patriots Unfiltered Good one. Mike
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: was coming back five hundred. Is these ticket Hotline web
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Radio at Patriots dot Com is the email address. Evan
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: has left for practice, so he'll be coming back from
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: practice soon.
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: Yeah, so I didn't.
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: I unfortunately got Mayo all over myself, so I was
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: cleaning out, so I didn't get to hear.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: But like it's funny when we hear those arguments in.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: It was the old news, and I still have the
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: same one. I'm a one trick and not about anybody
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: in particular, because if you look at the guys that
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: I was actually talking about, we're talking about linebacker.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: I didn't want ray Kwon McMillan playing. I didn't want
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: ja want Bentley plane, but I was saying I'd rather
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: see Cameron mcgron and those I'm not in the league
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: at this.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: Well, it's like this, there's always a perspective a couple
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: of years later, like some of the arguments where like
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: oh my gosh, like you know, we're talking about like
- 1:13:50Speaker 7: Newton and stuff like man, if we could just go back.
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: But that's that's funny.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: I want to see, right, And again, it's not like
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: you can't remember. The student thing to me wasn't because
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: I thought you had like Russell Wilson mid round pick star, right,
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: you know, in the way. It's just like I know
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: what Newton is, I know what ray kwon McMillan. Ray
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: kwon McMillan's not going to help you win games. You know,
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: maybe in retrospect that I you know, maybe it is
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: Juwan Bentley a little bit better than I gave Maybe
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: I still don't think he's a difference maker, but he's
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: probably a better player than I gave him credit for. Yeah,
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: but I just I don't know what the other guys are.
- 1:14:25Speaker 7: I mean, and it's I mean in many ways, not
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: these specific examples, but you just you can't help but say,
- 1:14:30Speaker 7: like why didn't we do this earlier?
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: You know, like why don't you turn it over? You
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: would have maybe had a little bit more sense.
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: I mean that was was that like twenty twenty, probably
- 1:14:36Speaker 7: when they were bringing back like Van Noy and everybody
- 1:14:38Speaker 7: good one.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: I think it was. Yeah, there were some guys they
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: were bringing back the band.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Yeah, run it back, Yeah, boogeyman.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Colon Denver writes in Believe it or Not, We've got
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: a game this Sunday, and I've got some questions about
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: the opponent. Emmanuel Forbes was picked ahead of Gonzo. How's
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: that working?
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: Out not good.
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: He's not he's benched.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: He's got benched.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Washington traded their pass rushers to play the young guys.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Who are they? Do they have potential or are they nobodies? Yeah?
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: They hired by Bill highlighted Casey two Hill and James
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: Smith Williams, you know a couple of depths, guys that
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: have been been rotating through. But they still have Deron
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: Payne and Jonathan Allen, and those two guys are are
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: very good, you know, on the inside. So it's gonna
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: be a challenge for the Patriots guards.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I think John Dotson has had a disappointing season.
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: Why, I don't know.
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: If i'd say that, I don't. I wouldn't. I mean
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: he's corrective.
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't. I don't watch I don't watch the
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: The Commanders. But you know, thirty for two ninety one
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: and two touchdowns, isn't the rible be like our leading receiver.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: He's the I mean as the number three got right,
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: you know, And I think Samuel's.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: Kind of banged up right now.
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: I know we didn't practice yesterday, so that's you know,
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: one to watch. But those three guys are bettern't know
- 1:15:44Speaker 7: what the Patriots got right.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Now, what has Eric Bienemy been doing to make the
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Commanders so productive on offense despite an abysmal offensive line?
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Are you interested in him as the next head coach
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: of the Patriots.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: That's a good question.
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: We kind of talked about it already, you know, Evan
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: was dialing into that a little bit. But I just
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: think their their willingness to throw the ball into you know,
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: continually go back and attack it. And I think that's
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: something that you know, teams generally need against the Patriots.
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: They need that aggressiveness and just you know, you're going
- 1:16:09Speaker 7: to take this defense down. You're going to go right
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: at them and throw the ball down the field and
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: if they pick off a pass, okay, we'll come back
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: and do it again.
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, I would just say trying to score.
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: And I know that sounds like simple, but Evan made
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: that comment yesterday about you know, like, will they be
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: willing to try to win shootouts? And I don't. I
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: think that the enemy has a mindset like if we
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: can go out and get there. This is this is
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: kind of back to my Brady thing. And I felt
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: like it was an enormous advantage that those Patriots teams
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: had was knowing that Brady's gonna put up thirty today.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: You're going to be able to do that, and if
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: you can't, you lose. And I think that was a
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: huge mental edge that he had in some games when
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: they were playing teams with sort of commensurate ability. You know,
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: they would play the Colts in in the you know,
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: the mid two thousands, and Peyton Manning would go into
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: those games knowing, I can't punt today because the other
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: guy ain't gonna punt, not against our defense.
- 1:17:08Speaker 7: Or even coming down the stretch, like knowing they're going
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: to make a push, like you always knew they were
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: going to make a push.
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: The game is not secure until it is one.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: And I think that is an enormous edge that Brady's
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: production gave, gave those couple more twenty years of Patriots.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Sam Howe, little fellow who I've been told doesn't throw
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: past five yards kind of like Mac in that way,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: but more athletic and tougher.
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: I would not agree with that.
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: I totally disagree it doesn't throw past five are, Yeah,
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: he probably throws it down the field too to whoever,
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: so whoever told you that is wrong, wrong, and is
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: Ron Rivera on the hot seat. Sure, yeah, any times
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: you're trading guys away, so I'd say he's close to
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: being out, so he is on the hot seat.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: But they let him run the deadline.
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: They let him run the deadline, or Martine know, they
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: let him run the dead The one of the guys
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: said that that Mayhew San Francisco said that when he
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: was talking to Mayhew that they actually offered both of
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: the guys well Sweat and Chase Young. Maybe what would
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: you give us for? Maybe that maybe that's wrong.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: But I read in the Athletic they had like the
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: Niners guys and the the you know, they did like
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: a joint post and the Washington guys, and they they
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: said that bron Rivera has full control Washington ps.
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: Someone tells you a full control guy?
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Huh. Someone tell Evan that three up, three down on
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: a Thursday show is a bad idea.
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: I disagree.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: Okay, we do our show on Thursday.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: I don't know I was supposed to do it, Evan.
- 1:18:37Speaker 12: Evan has returned, has returned, has returned from.
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: All right? Evan, what do you got?
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: I know it's colder than it was yesterday.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: So you have the good news.
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: First, or the bad news, bad good Brad, You're the
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: bad bad news as Trent Brown, Calvin Anderson, Devonte Parker
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: and a new absence today Devon Godshaw not at practice,
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: not at practice.
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: But Pharaoh's back the good news. I wanted the good
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: news first because I like the best tight end in football.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: According to Pro Football Focus, Pharaoh Brown is back at Patriots.
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: Take off the minimum snaps now, because you can't.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: He is no minimums better than Travis Kelcey.
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: He's got two hundred on the nose.
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: Perpuff. Reminds me of like that that eighties Saturday Night
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: Live skit with Ditkah Hurricane Dicken, George Kittle, Travis Kelson,
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: Farrell Brown or Pharaoh.
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: But the hurricane's name is Hurricane Dick.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: All the guy does is catch chunk plays.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: That's all all you.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: Every time he touches the ball, it's a plus ten.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I love it. It was colder out there today, It's
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: freaking I literally had ice on my car. I had
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: to like scrape ice off my windows today.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: Texture last night put the heat on.
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: Well, November second, you made it. I know you're trying
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: to try to push I.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: Want to see I want to live fast and loose.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Just upset about that. So so because it was really
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: cold out where it was everyone in shorts.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: No, but it was funny.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: You want to how they do it.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: I was, I was, you know, eating my my turkey
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: sandwich on the way, trying to finish my lunch. So
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: I actually got there right as as they were letting
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: us into practice, and so Barth was like, oh, I
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: thought maybe because it's so cold, you just weren't going
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: to come today.
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: I was like, like, I got a theme song. I
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: have to live.
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: I was like, you know, if I didn't have obligations,
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: then I would have considered it.
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: So obligations like telling what the mood was.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: Were they bundled up or not?
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: The players, Yeah, you were seeing a lot of scuba
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: suits starting to come out, you know, J C.
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: Jackson.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: That's a little performative.
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: If you asked me, Mac had on one.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: Last week, it is incredibly like it's not incredibly come on,
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: it's unincredibly cold four degrees right now. No, no, no,
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: but it's it's it's bitter out there, and I'm just
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: it's incredibly cold. But the fact that we went from
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: what it was last week all of a sudden, So
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: this week it's kind of a shock to the sound.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: I'm surprised golfing Saturday.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: It was thirty five degrees this morning on the Cape,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: so it was probably a little colder up here.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: I'm surprised they didn't let you stay out there for
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: like twenty minutes. Usually that's them.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: So yesterday I told yesterday the period two guys.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: They did the whole break in between things, and I
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: was telling you guys about last week, and I admit
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: I considered not not going back at it.
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: Forget it, so choose not to run.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Was the immediate contingent, a buzz about this whole commander's thing.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: The media contingent was light today because really we were
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: missing some people off what's going on in the fair
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: Weather bad Ruins six or six and two.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: You you know this got to be there.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: They just had had a Celtics and Bruins game last night.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: Brunis game tonight, Bruins played tonight the Play the Hospital
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: Bruins Toronto, one of those ESPN Plus games.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: We can't even see it.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to see it like going thirteen rows up.
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: And watch it going. This is game ten for uh,
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: the hot the Hospital.
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: Bruins because every defenseman on the Bruins roster is.
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: Charlie McAvoy is throwing elbows. I don't know, but.
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: Well he's not playing right full game suspension.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: Yeah, neither is Grizzly, neither is four Bird. Yeah, they're
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: they're in trouble.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: So anything else to report from the mood access cold?
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you're starting to get a little bit of
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: you know, uh, work human and the fact that the
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: team is two and six and now it's forty degree
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: out and we're standing out there talking about who's the
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: new corner that they signed today and how he's wearing
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: twenty eight Just like a mere Speed. It just doesn't
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: hit the same, it doesn't hit the same.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: So there's definitely twenty eight. Yeah like speed.
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we just on the practice.
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: I already have him in my just call him speed
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: my favorites. Yeah, so I who's a mere Speed. He's
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: already in the dictionary. I will admit it.
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: I forget the guy's name, and we're getting there.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: We're getting there. Yeah, what was he Oregon State or yeah?
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: Oregon State?
- 1:23:33Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, he was Alex Austin, drafted by somebody and
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: then he was just on Buffalo seventh round. Yeah, and
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: then he was on and he was on someone's practice,
- 1:23:41Speaker 7: and now he's on the roster, right on the roster.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: Yeah, so is he is? He?
- 1:23:45Speaker 13: Is?
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: He like a mere speed? They needed another special team.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: But the thing is weird is that he's not a
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: mere speed. No, pun intended. Was very fast, like guy's not. No,
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: he ran a four or five.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: Yeah, so it was six one, isn't he?
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got similar sigh, I would say, but not
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: anywhere near the athlete that Pady.
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: We got some trivia questions.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Yes, we gave during halftime, we gave away some posters
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: and T shirt, poster and a T shirt. So we
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: have the game day poster program. You can get that
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: on Patriots dot com. Each poster is signed and numbered
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: by the artists. There's only two hundred and seventy five
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: available for each game. They're all unique, you know. It's
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: a different artists for every game. So that's pretty cool.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: The first question is the original NFL team awarded to
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: the City of Boston slash New England in nineteen thirty two.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: Was the Redskins.
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: No, well that's the r word.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: Yeah, technically you're right, Paul, but it was the Boston
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Braves and they became the Redskins, now the Commanders. Yeah,
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: and Shady it's not a word. Shady won that Eminem
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Shade Lynn.
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: That means Matt.
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: We got to send it to eight mile Matt.
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: The page never get there.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: The Patriots last played the Commanders at home on Week
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: nine of twenty fifteen, in a twenty seven to ten victory.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: That game, the leading Patriots receiver had five receptions for
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: one hundred and two yards. Who was it Dion Lewis incorrect?
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: Holgan incorrect?
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: Paul? Who is Hogan? And again we never know if
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: he's a Brandon Lafellas correct.
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: I believe it's the Deon Lewis twenty ACL game. I
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: knew it was something d Us. I knew that. I
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: think he tours ACL.
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: And I was talking about buzz kill injuries. Had something
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: this year that was a buzz com Joel and holl
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: won that.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: And finally, in an off season where the Patriots signed
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco Johnson, which former Washington player did,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: they also sign Big Album Big Al Albert Worth Andrew
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: knocking the rust off.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: At La Gold signing.
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: That was my remember, Like Kea, every time you talked
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: to him was like, I'm just still knocking.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: The rust seat. He did nothing in training camp, like
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: never like flashed it at all. And then in a
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: preseason game, like he drew a holding call and there
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: were like five sidebars written about it like.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: He holding, like.
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: Like the bar is like so ridiculously low at this point,
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: and you know, like three days later he was gone.
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: Who was the other big guy that used to that
- 1:26:21Speaker 7: they had inside not like Brandon Detterick, but he was
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: a veteran intol Like there was another big guy, big
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: veteran that that was here for a few years next
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: to Vince on the inside, you know, kind of playing
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: that he's with rolling planking on.
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: What his name was Keith Traylor?
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: No, no, later, Keith Traylor was a nose tackle, wasn't he? Like?
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: Who was fourteen? Who was fourteen defensive cacles?
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: He played next next to Vince Vince.
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: You said, yeah, Alan Branch, Yeah that was really good.
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: Yeah yeah yeah, And I wasn't saying he wasn't. I
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: just forgot his name.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: I thought he came from Buffalo, right, like he did
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: come from Buffalo.
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: Uncle Philip.
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Phi, that that brings it all. That's exactly
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: who was.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: First things first, Travis and West Virginia. Says just my opinion,
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: but I think Belichick thinks Washington is a trash organization
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: and he wouldn't coach them in a million years. Also,
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: I was wondering if you have any idea for the
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: poster giveaways. The trivia questions have become obscure. Maybe an
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: impersonation contest or a best football joke contest.
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: Okay, we'll share those with I'll put them in the suggestion.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: Yeah, gotta as it's probably watching.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: Okay, a lot of a lot of emails, a lot
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: of phone calls. Let's get to the phones, try to
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: get these people out because we got to go transition
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: into picks. Dan's in New York. What's up Dan?
- 1:27:47Speaker 17: Hey, guys, thanks for taking the call. Looking forward to
- 1:27:51Speaker 17: this so we can match up Belichick. Le defensives have
- 1:27:55Speaker 17: had success against the MTB's rep second years, and I
- 1:28:00Speaker 17: think Sam Heller up and then he can turnover prone,
- 1:28:04Speaker 17: but he can sling it. So do you think that
- 1:28:07Speaker 17: Belichick for.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: This weekend trying to make confusion confusion, dial it up,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: different looks.
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what you know. First of all, just owe
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: to Wink Martindale. Love watching that Giants defense, just like
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: ridiculous do ridiculous things. But that's what they did. You know,
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: they sacked them six times in that game, and it
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: was just like you you're not going to see what's
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: coming and it's just gonna come from different directions and
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: you're in.
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: It wasn't as much just beating guys.
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: Like, stunts are big against this line. They have a
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: big problem. You know, bad lines have problem with movement.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: We can tell you that from this line here. So
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: stunts and things like that. But then Wig Martin Dell
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: is a notorious blitzer. You know he comes after guys.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: Thanks Dan, Let's go to Tim and Providence.
- 1:28:56Speaker 15: Hey, Tim, I guess the thing that I wanted to
- 1:29:01Speaker 15: bring up with you guys is like I've been thinking
- 1:29:04Speaker 15: about all these teams that made moves of the deadline and.
- 1:29:08Speaker 18: How the Patriots didn't do anything. And if I'm the
- 1:29:10Speaker 18: craft I got to look at this situation and think
- 1:29:13Speaker 18: to myself, we don't have any talent on the offensive
- 1:29:17Speaker 18: side of the ball, and we have not set ourselves
- 1:29:19Speaker 18: up for the draft. You know, I don't care if
- 1:29:23Speaker 18: you're trading Douggar for a fifth round pick, like, we
- 1:29:26Speaker 18: need to move on and I don't see any plans
- 1:29:30Speaker 18: for the future. It's so frustrating to watch. I mean,
- 1:29:34Speaker 18: we know that this team is not going anywhere. Like
- 1:29:37Speaker 18: the talent they have on this team is not going
- 1:29:40Speaker 18: to put these guys anywhere near playoff wins. They playoff
- 1:29:44Speaker 18: win they haven't done.
- 1:29:45Speaker 12: It in four years.
- 1:29:48Speaker 13: You know, like, we've got to move on.
- 1:29:50Speaker 17: Well, we've got to get rid of pieces.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: It's going to be a very interesting offseason.
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: I mean, if you want to trade Josh Hujs, you're
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: not trading Kyle Dugger for a fifth round pick?
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: Like, what do we healing?
- 1:30:01Speaker 18: Like he round pick whatever? Fourth round pick.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: Kyle Duggart is one of your few good players and
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: you're going to sell him off for a fourth round pick.
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: Bailey Zappi was a fourth round pick.
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: They got him.
- 1:30:14Speaker 18: Is Kyle Duger helping us win football games right now?
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: Help to win a lot of football games last year.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean you can't, but you can't think about
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: it in those kinds of terms with it so thanks
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: to you can't just like get rid of all your players.
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: That's my point, they're two and six, so obviously no
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: one's helping them win games right now. Like so I
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: and I understand the frustration, but I would have moved
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: if I could have. Yep, yeah, but it's hurt. I
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: also don't Well, I think he was available. I think
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: a lot of people were willing to take him, and
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: I think based on this is totally my speculation. I
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: think they were looking for like a third round pick
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: or better and that wasn't what his market was. But again,
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: and they didn't want I would have moved him for
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: whatever I could have gotten for him, because I think
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: you're gonna lose him for nothing.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: I get a fan saying, you know, what is the plan?
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: So if you you know, start trading pieces, Okay, we're
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: looking at the future. You know, that's a plan. If
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: you sign guys you know they are the future, that's
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: a plan too. But they didn't do anything. So I
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: think fans are like, what what is the plan? What
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: do they want to do? What are they thinking?
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: Well, they're not going to sign guys now. But I
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: agree with like with Paul was saying, with that was
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: my point, Like I almost thought that he meant, like,
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: you know, you know, but because I don't want to
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: like mean to like attack him or anything. But like
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: Kyle dugger in my opinion, is too good of a
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: player to be giving up for a fifth round pick.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: Why wouldn't they sign him now?
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: I well they could, it's just not really how they
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: do business. Like if they're going to sign Kyle Duggart,
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: they're going to sign them like in February, you know,
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: and Kyle.
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: If I were Kyle Dugger, I wouldn't even think about
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: signing right now.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: Right But regardless, and when they sign him, if they
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: sign those types of players, that's a plan, Like we
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: believe in this guy. He's going to be part of
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: our future.
- 1:32:08Speaker 9: You know.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: It's it's a it's it's an it's one answer, yeah
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: to many questions.
- 1:32:13Speaker 7: It is going to be so many dominoes to fall
- 1:32:15Speaker 7: before we get to the point of like re signing guys,
- 1:32:17Speaker 7: Like it's first thing we have to do at the
- 1:32:19Speaker 7: end of the season is determine who's going to be
- 1:32:21Speaker 7: running this team going forward.
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: And then that's why I have to, like, you know,
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: Barth keep talking about the draft and I'm like, who's
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: picking what's the offense?
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: Like I, you know, there's too many.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: And that's and I don't know this, but I've said
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: it before. I think that maybe the Crafts have said
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: it's a hold on twenty twenty four until we see
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: what happens this year. Yeah, you know nothing, make no
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: moves beyond this year. Yeah.
- 1:32:45Speaker 7: I mean, and they should theoretically be able to do
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: what they want, you know. It's it's just really a
- 1:32:50Speaker 7: debate of you know, how much you value Dugger and
- 1:32:53Speaker 7: Uce and I throw Jennings into that mix too. I
- 1:32:55Speaker 7: think he's a you know, just a good kind of
- 1:32:57Speaker 7: solid player to keep around, probably.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: With your guy, your surprise guys person in your round table.
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: Oh, I hadn't written mine yet.
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: I was obviously he cheats off.
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: Well, no, I like to give a full picture.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: So you said, Jennings that was my guy?
- 1:33:10Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, No, I think that's a good one, you know.
- 1:33:12Speaker 7: And like, I don't want to say he's not the
- 1:33:14Speaker 7: next coming of Warrant Taylor or anything, but I just
- 1:33:15Speaker 7: think that's the kind of solid guy that, you know,
- 1:33:17Speaker 7: when you are not jokingly talk about having a solid
- 1:33:20Speaker 7: middle class, that's.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: The kind he seems to be taking advance and step in.
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: He can set the edge a little bit. He's a
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: good you know, third fourth outside linebacker.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: One more called David's in New York. What's up, David?
- 1:33:31Speaker 8: Hey you guys.
- 1:33:33Speaker 19: Yeah, a long time listener. Uh never called him before,
- 1:33:36Speaker 19: emailed them a few times.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: Welcome to call from.
- 1:33:39Speaker 19: JAFF yesterday made me want to call in. And my
- 1:33:45Speaker 19: big thing was, you know, I think it's over with
- 1:33:48Speaker 19: mac here in New England. But I just I don't
- 1:33:50Speaker 19: think you can really like say he didn't wasn't put
- 1:33:52Speaker 19: in a horrible position, having to learn three different offenses,
- 1:33:56Speaker 19: no real weapons around him, including no no third downback
- 1:34:02Speaker 19: like he brought up. And you know, Joe Burrow does
- 1:34:04Speaker 19: have a third down back, and I would say Josh
- 1:34:06Speaker 19: Allen was James Cook. And but then even on top
- 1:34:08Speaker 19: of that, like Paul said, you know, Joe Burrow doesn't
- 1:34:11Speaker 19: worry about that stuff. But you know, it's also must
- 1:34:14Speaker 19: be nice to know that even the Jamar chase, the
- 1:34:16Speaker 19: T Higgins is gonna get open in point five seconds
- 1:34:18Speaker 19: for you. And that's what it is with Alan too.
- 1:34:22Speaker 19: He has digs and you go through everyone has that
- 1:34:25Speaker 19: top wide receiver. And you know, like I said, I
- 1:34:27Speaker 19: think it's over with Macs what work seems to be
- 1:34:30Speaker 19: kind of bad now and this processing has dropped significantly
- 1:34:34Speaker 19: over the years.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: So what, Dave, just a question. When they got Mac,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: were you pleased that they picked him? Or at were
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: you never a Mac guy? I'm just wondering.
- 1:34:45Speaker 19: I was originally like eighty seventy thirty seventy in favor.
- 1:34:50Speaker 19: I did was more of a fan of the strong
- 1:34:53Speaker 19: arm guys. But you know, I did see the vision
- 1:34:55Speaker 19: with you know, that's what Brady kind of was coming in.
- 1:34:57Speaker 19: You know, wasn't super mobile, not comparing Brady, but uh.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Okay, just all right, he was putting on your poll.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: All right, thanks David, appreciate And again.
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: I'm not sure which side to put him off.
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: Took your pull down.
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: He's out on Mac. And then he's complaining that like
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: James Cook and Joe Mixon, who are every down back,
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: just like Ramadre Stevenson.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: Like, but he has an option on third down. I
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: think it is his point he has someone to go to.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: I don't, I don't, I don't get it.
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: Sorry, I mean like that. The third down back thing
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: is just it's just frustrating because it's an easy hole
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: to fill that they didn't fill. It's not like that
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: the third down back was going to change their entire offense. Like,
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: let's not overrate the third down back. But at the
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: same time, I.
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: Think they passes. To be honest, it was it was
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: an easy thing to do.
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: You would think to find a guy that can get
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: that can get open on third down out of the backfield,
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: and they just ignored it.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: All right, it's uh, we have to really hurry. It's
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: that time of the week and fall I'm afraid to listen.
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: No, it's better. Really, it was better this week for
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: most Alex, who am a little disappointed in. I figured
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: she'd come and take her victory. Lap thirteen and three. Wow,
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: good solid week for Alex.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: That's really heady.
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: She maintains the top spot Mike twelve and four from Mike,
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: Paul eleven and five, Evan ten and six, and Fred
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: Fred nine and seven.
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: That's much better.
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: It was a better week for it with the spread.
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: Better with the spread. It was Alex nine five and two,
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: followed by Mike and Fred at eight six and two
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: and Paul and Evan at seven seven and two.
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: At least they got over five hundred standings.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: Alex maintains your leads seventy eight and forty four, followed
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: by Mike and I at seventy four and forty eight. Mike,
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: you caught me this week. Good for you than you
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: probably the latest in the season you've.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: Ever been patrons.
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: Oh should I not do that? Let's see Fred in
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: Evan seventy one and fifty one.
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: Okay, that's why I'm fine.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: I'm fine, that's whatever. It's fine.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:37:10Speaker 4: With the spread, Alex and Paul are tied sixty one,
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: fifty six and five, Fred fifty nine, fifty eight and five,
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: Mike fifty seven, sixty and five, and Evan fifty three,
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: sixty four and five.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: Okay, big week, Big week. I'm ready for this week,
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: ready to go. I'm not all right. Eight fifteen tonight
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: the three and four Titans tonight?
- 1:37:33Speaker 4: Can we stream things at the same time?
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: I watched the Bruins and this wish.
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: So Will Levis had another flaw in the cord cutting thing.
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: It is a flaw. But what you could do is
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: you could have two different devices. You have a computer,
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: so in other words, I might as well just have
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: cable and pay for it. Well, you can flip back
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: and forth, but you can't never.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: The three and four Tights.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: I'm not felger. You don't have to treat. Luckily, we
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: do have to hurry if we really don't.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Reinflory Titans are at the four and three Steelers Pittsburgh
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: by three pickets. Out right.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: Picket is playing, I always playing.
- 1:38:09Speaker 12: Do you.
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: Have we gotten anything from Alex No?
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: No, yeah, we'll get over well I do.
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:38:16Speaker 7: Man's playing basketball to this kid, but man's playing footballs.
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: That was one of the great Alex all right, So
- 1:38:25Speaker 7: I know Pickett banged up like Levis four touchdowns last week.
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: Man Rabel Just when I think I'm out.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: Playing, just likely he's just you know, he's just like
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: saying random words.
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: That's why I kind of down.
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: I was working through taking.
- 1:38:43Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Tennessee Michael Frable, Uh, get right when
- 1:38:48Speaker 7: I get out.
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: Okay, I do have I do have a comment. A
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: statement from Alexandra Francisco quote. I regret to announce that
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: I cannot make today's show due to an untimely meeting
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: schedule during Picks. I look forward to returning next week
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: to uphold my strong gambling performances and thank the listeners
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: for the support they've shown. Thus far go pass.
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: She's taking a victory last rugs.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: Much My picks are as follows. She has Pittsburgh both ways.
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: Okay, Pittsburgh's at home. Yeah, yeah, I'm taking Pittsburgh. I'm
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: getting ready for Germany. Yeah, Pittsburgh, I did. Both These
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: teams are weird though, because like they both win games
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: they're not supposed to win, and like I can't I
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: don't know so, but I'm taking Pittsburgh at home.
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: Yeah. It is probably two of the screwiest teams that
- 1:39:32Speaker 4: you know. They're not terrible, they're just kind of Midland.
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: But I will take Pittsburgh as well.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: I think they ride the wave a little bit. I think,
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: you know, big four touchdown performance by the new guy,
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: I think it kind of lifts all the boats. And
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: I think the Titans, at least for another week, are
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: riding that wave. Yeah. I'm gonna go with the Titans
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Sunday morning, nine to thirty in Frankfurt. Next week. They're
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: warm up the stadium for US. The sixth and two
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: Dolphins are technically at the six and two Chiefs because
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: the Chiefs are the host host team.
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: Kansas City is favored by one and a half. Kansas
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: City is favored by one and a half.
- 1:40:16Speaker 7: Great game, great for us. I mean, you're not gonna
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: be well, you're not to leave though, you're not gonna
- 1:40:19Speaker 7: be able to watch a lot of it, probably, Paul,
- 1:40:20Speaker 7: But but but.
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: We will get some of it.
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: You know in the morning, you're gonna get here early
- 1:40:24Speaker 7: to watch it. And you give me this frown upside down,
- 1:40:29Speaker 7: But we'll be watching it.
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: I'm gonna go to Miami.
- 1:40:32Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Miami, a me from like.
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: Alex likes Kansas City, of course she does.
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: I am taking Miami. I think they're better than the
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: Chiefs right now. The Chiefs offense is in a tough
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: spot and I'm very this is big. The ALL twenty
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: two from Germany. What's it going to look like?
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: Will it have ALL twenty two?
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: Is it gonna come in timely? Or is it going
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: to be delayed?
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: Most of what's the metric converse?
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: I don't know, Paul, but it's stressing me out, man.
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: How many meters? This is hashtag Evan problems.
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: So Monday, Monday, you know, I'm pulling up that ALL
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: twenty two from Dolphins Chiefs not to watch it, just
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: to make sure.
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: Just because it will be an epic random like, I'm
- 1:41:18Speaker 5: gonna take Miami too.
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: I actually thought, and this might be silly on my
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: part based on the offense that they played, but I
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: thought that Miami defense was impressive at times last week,
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: and I think they're they're maybe starting to come together
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: under Vic Fangio. I think they can get healthier if
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: they can get Holler. I don't know if Holland and
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: Howard are playing, but I can see pieces on that
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: defense of them being better in the second half than
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: they were in the first. I'm gonna take Miami.
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: I thought i'd be on an island. I'm picking Miami.
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: I thought everyone was gonna pick the Chiefs except for Alex.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm this is a want game, though. I
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: want the Dolphins to win this game because the Chiefs,
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: you know, are our rival in Germany got to knocked around.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: Do you remember when.
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: Fred used to pick games based on like what was
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: best for the Patriots and now it doesn't.
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: I just explained this is better for them.
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: I'm talking about the team, like the the wins and loss.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: I know you now, I give you credit.
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: You've grown. I'm looking to the future. You've grown and
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: the future is Germany. I think.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: I think Miami might be the best team in the league.
- 1:42:23Speaker 5: Yeah, could be, sure, could be.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: Let's see one o'clock. The four and four Vikings are
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: at the four and four.
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: Falcons Atlanta by four and a half.
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: All right, So who's the quarterback from Minnesota now?
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: With poor I forget that guy, Sharon Hall from by
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: kind of Light Yeah, mid rounds. Yeah, well, the Falcons
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: are starting Taylor Heineke, so it's not much.
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: Better easy slam dunk. I don't know. I'm gonna go
- 1:42:51Speaker 5: with Atlanta at home.
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: What was this spread? Four and a half?
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take Atlanta at home.
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: Not sure why so Alex. Alex likes the Falcons too,
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: so Atlanta both ways.
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Atlanta both ways as well. I just
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: I don't know what the Vikings are going to look
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: like now, and I until they I see it, I
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: have to not pick them.
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: I was tempted to take the four and a half,
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: but I don't know if I can do that with
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: the guy that I don't know him really much about
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: in Hall. So I will take the Falcons.
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: He's sneaky, athletic, I know him from college.
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: I mean like Falcons for Freddy.
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: Sunday at one, five and two Seahawks at the six
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: and two.
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: Ravens Baltimore by six.
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: Oh, I like that spread. I'm gonna take Baltimore by
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: six on that home.
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: It's really only three and you know the right if
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: they like them.
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: I love Baltimore. I think that team's a good team.
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson's grade, So I'm taking Baltimore. That's it, Lamark scene,
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: I just screwed up.
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: Sorry, Alex. I will also take Baltimore both ways. Alex
- 1:43:54Speaker 4: takes the Ravens to win, but Seattle to cover.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: What is the She's cagy the sharp. I'm gonna take
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: the Ravens both ways. Sunday at one the one in
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: seven Cardinals are at the four and three Browns.
- 1:44:09Speaker 4: Uh, Cleveland by eight.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: When's the last time Cleveland is an eight point favorite anywhere.
- 1:44:17Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Cleveland to win, but I'm gonna take
- 1:44:20Speaker 7: the eight points for Arizona.
- 1:44:24Speaker 4: Can someone look up and see who's playing quarterback? Is
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: it gonna be Clayton Tune for Arizona? I believe so, Alex.
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: Alex likes the Browns, but she's taking the points.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: Oh, she's really thinking about this.
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: Well, she's got a lead now, so he can't leave.
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: Don't want to be the Falcons. I'm gonna take the Browns,
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: but I am also gonna take the Toun squad to cover,
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: just because that's a big spread for the Browns.
- 1:44:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Cleveland both ways because of the
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: Tune squad.
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: They've been a little little cag online.
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and I also, I mean if Mauray plays, would
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: would definitely be taking the points. But Arizona's had a
- 1:45:03Speaker 4: knack of scoring late to get some back door covers.
- 1:45:06Speaker 4: But I don't think they'll be able to do it
- 1:45:08Speaker 4: with Clayton Tune.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you could score as little as twenty
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: points and cover that eight point spread in this game.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go with the Browns both ways. One
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: o'clock Fox, three and five rams. Stafford's really washed at
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: the two and five packer.
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: He's got a thumb thing.
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: Yeah, he got his ring. Three and five rams at
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: the two and five packers.
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: Green Bay by three and a half.
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: Man, This is a tough one. Is green base and
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: playing like trash. Yeah, I'm gonna take I'm gonna take.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: The Rams take the Rams, So who's cing for them?
- 1:45:43Speaker 5: I don't even know.
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: I think Stafford is like trying to play through it
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: and he's kind of one of those guys that does
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: so I don't know.
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: So who's your take.
- 1:45:55Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Rams.
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: Okay, she I'm trying to Okay, she's taking green Bay,
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: but she's taking the points. You're taking the Rams outright? Please?
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna take the Rams. But in a field
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: goal game, so it's three and a half, right the hoof.
- 1:46:11Speaker 3: I'm just kidding. The Rams take the upset in this.
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: The Rams win outright. So you guys are thinking that
- 1:46:16Speaker 4: Stafford's playing, I don't know. I just just believe in
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: that that Packers team has been Yeah, I'm gonna take
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: green Bay because I don't think. I don't think he's
- 1:46:25Speaker 4: going to play. If he played, I would take them,
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: but I won't. I'll take the Packers.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna split the difference. I'll take the Packers
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: and the I'll take the points. Sunday at one three
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: and four, Buccaneers are at the three and four Texans.
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: Houston by two and a half.
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: That's a tough one cross conference battle here.
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: I'm having such a hard time finding the games on
- 1:46:50Speaker 4: Alex's thing.
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: Because she's using a different order, right.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: She's used in Houston instead of Texans.
- 1:46:56Speaker 4: There, I found it.
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with Tampa Bay on
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: the road with an upset.
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: Alex likes Houston to win, but she takes the points.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Houston to win as well. I didn't
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: really think the Bucks played all that well against Buffalo,
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: so I'm gonna take them to cover as well.
- 1:47:18Speaker 4: The Texans.
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. I'm gonna take it Texans both ways.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: I like Baker, you know, let's let Baker bake. But
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: he doesn't look good. He's so inaccurate, you know.
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: I'm also going to take Houston. Care what I took? Evan,
- 1:47:32Speaker 4: Did you take it? What did you take?
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: I took the Texans both ways?
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: Both ways too?
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Sunday at one, the two and six Bears are at
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: the four and four Saints.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: New Orleans by eight and a half.
- 1:47:44Speaker 5: Goodness, gracious, big number. Montese sweat coming for you there,
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: Derek Carr see a terrible commentary today.
- 1:47:57Speaker 7: I'm going to take New Orleans at home, and I'm
- 1:48:00Speaker 7: gonna actually lay all those points.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: I don't think Alex took this one.
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: Also, do you want me to look at Alex's He's
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: got a lot going on over there. I'm just trying
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: to help out.
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't find it. Okay, New Orleans both ways
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: for deuced Yes, please, I'm gonna take New Orleans, but
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: I don't think they're good enough to cover an eight
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: point spread, so I'm taking the Bearers to cover. I
- 1:48:25Speaker 4: will take New Orleans both ways.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna do the same, New Orleans both ways. All right. Now,
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and we
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: go to four oh five, of which there's one game.
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: The three and five Colts are at.
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: Just so you know she didn't take it. She did
- 1:48:44Speaker 4: the Patriots twice.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: Oh okay, the three and five Colts are at the
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: one and six Panthers. Who did you take in the
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: last game for Saints both ways?
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: Okay, Colts Panthers, Colts by three.
- 1:48:58Speaker 7: That's six three Patriots facing the Colts next week in Germany. Oh, Tanka,
- 1:49:07Speaker 7: I'm gonna take the Colts on the road and I
- 1:49:11Speaker 7: will lay the points.
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Colts, and I think they cover
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: as wells.
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: Colts. Yeah, Alex likes the Colts both ways. I do
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: as well. I think the Panthers got that big win
- 1:49:25Speaker 4: to get off the Schneid pressures off for a little bit.
- 1:49:29Speaker 4: Colts win.
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Colts both ways. Four two and six Giants are
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: at the three and five Raiders.
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: This is not one for the faint of heart.
- 1:49:39Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:49:40Speaker 4: The Raiders by one and a half.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: Wow. That tells you what they think of the Giants.
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:49:47Speaker 7: Man, and they're they're falling apart. I this is tough,
- 1:49:51Speaker 7: especially at home. Now, you know what, At some point,
- 1:49:54Speaker 7: I feel like Brian Dable's gonna get something out of
- 1:49:57Speaker 7: his team. I will take the Giants in the up.
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Raiders because you know that
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: game after you fire your coach, sometimes it goes the
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: other way. Sometimes it rallies the.
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: Troops the new coach.
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: Finally, remember Jeff Saturday beat the Raiders last year in
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: his first game.
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: I do remember. So that was among the list of
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: things that spelled McDaniel's demise.
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: So I am going to take the Raiders.
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: Me.
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: I think the Raiders win this game, and they think
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: the Raiders even cover this game.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: That's what I got all right. I will take the
- 1:50:31Speaker 4: Giants because I think the Giants defense has figured something out,
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: if nothing else, and the way the Raiders play offense,
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: I think it could be a long day for Aiden O'Connell.
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: Yeah, who was, They're still playing.
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: I'm for the reason Evan pointed out. I'm gonna pick
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: the Raiders. They get that new coach bump. You know,
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: it's that new car smell type of thing, and I think,
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: you know, at least for this week, they play hard
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: and they beat the Giants. For the five and two
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: Cowboys are at the seven.
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: And one, Eagles Philly by three.
- 1:51:05Speaker 5: Good game, three, Yeah, this is a good game.
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: There's some good games in the windows this week, that
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: being one of them. The Sunday night game is just
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: pretty good. Bad the morning games, it's not.
- 1:51:16Speaker 7: Really a great game. The morning game, the four twenty
- 1:51:20Speaker 7: are all great. I'm gonna go with Philly at home,
- 1:51:24Speaker 7: good divisional battle out of lay the points.
- 1:51:27Speaker 4: Alex likes the why can I not Eagles both ways?
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: Having a real hard time finding the games. Is not
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: as young as he used to be.
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the Eagles. I can't pick a
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: push right because I feel like three is exactly what
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: it's gonna be. But I'll pick the Eagles to cover
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: at home. I the Eagles, I haven't really played their
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: best football and they're still seven and one that that
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: would be scary if I was a contender.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: I will take the Eagles both ways as well. Good
- 1:51:59Speaker 4: division game, one of the rare division games that I
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: actually would would probably be interested in watching. Be a good,
- 1:52:06Speaker 4: good one for us on red Zone, Mike, He'll keep
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: you updated.
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: Eagles both ways, Eagles both ways in this game. Just
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: always love to see the Cowboys lose eight twenty on
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: en be sure five and three Bills are at the
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: four and three Bengals Bengals hot, getting hot, you don't
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: like it.
- 1:52:24Speaker 5: Bengals by two, Bengals by two, Yeah, I agree. Joe
- 1:52:28Speaker 5: Burrow coming on.
- 1:52:30Speaker 7: I think they've got the team to, you know, expose
- 1:52:32Speaker 7: some of the problems that they're having in Buffalo. So
- 1:52:34Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Cincy and I'll lay the points at home.
- 1:52:38Speaker 4: Il Oh. Sorry, Alex. Alex likes the Bengals both ways
- 1:52:41Speaker 4: as well.
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: I like the Bengals both ways too. I think they're
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: they're starting to come on. Joe Burrow played out of
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: his mind in that game last week, and so did
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: the offensive line. Good good game for Teddy Carris, good job.
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: Old friend, shut out front of the Yeah. I like
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: the Bengals in this game. Too too much offense against
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: that banged up defense.
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: The Bills win the game just because I have to.
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: I was gonna say, is that what you actually think?
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: No, I think the Bengals are gonna win.
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: I think Buffalo could win. I just don't think that
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: they have the horses.
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: I'm picking the Bills. I'm picking the Bills. Go Go Buffalo,
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: eight fifteen Monday Night, ABC, ESPN, ESPN two, ESPN Deportes
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: and Yeah, three and four Chargers are at the four
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: and three Jets. Who would have thought the Jets without
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: That have a better record than the not me, not
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: me for sure Jets. Sorry, the Chargers by three and
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: a half m.
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: I don't know, guys. I'm gonna go with the freaking Jets,
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: the freaking Jets and their defense, I'm gonna go with them.
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: I'll take those points.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: This is a tough one, huh.
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: Alex has taken the Chargers both ways.
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the better quarterback. I'm
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: gonnake the char but I think that the Jets cover.
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: I think it's a field goal game.
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: Yeah, me too. I will take the Chargers to win,
- 1:54:05Speaker 4: but I think the Chargers just by contract, have to
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: keep the other team in the game the whole way.
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: So I'll take the points.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: I'll go ahead and take the Chargers both ways. Why not?
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: Why not? Now we go back to Sunday at one
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: and the three and five Commanders are at the two
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: and six Patriots.
- 1:54:28Speaker 4: Patriots by three three.
- 1:54:30Speaker 7: All right, I don't love myself for not picking the
- 1:54:33Speaker 7: Patriots here, but I'm gonna go with Washington. I just
- 1:54:36Speaker 7: I think but they're passing game. They're gonna chuck the
- 1:54:37Speaker 7: ball down the field. They'll make some mistakes, but I
- 1:54:39Speaker 7: think they'll make more plays down the field than the
- 1:54:41Speaker 7: Patriots are going to make, and I think that will
- 1:54:43Speaker 7: be the difference. Unfortunately, I'm gonna take the Commanders twenty
- 1:54:48Speaker 7: seven twenty three.
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: Alex takes the Patriots twenty four to seventeen. So Patriots
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: and cover.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: I have, I think picked the Patriots wrong, maybe every
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: week in the last months, So don't take my word
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: for it. But I'm with Mike on this. I worry
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: about the Commanders. I think that they have some things
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: in this matchup that favor them pretty heavily, like the
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: passing games and the interior pressure by those two defensive tackles.
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: So I'm taking Washington to win this game, as much
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: as that pains me to think that the Patriots can't
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: take care of business at home, but I'm gonna take
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: Washington twenty to seventeen. I think they just make a
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: few more plays.
- 1:55:33Speaker 4: So, Freddie, I'm gonna surprise you a little bit. I
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: didn't expect to be the lone voice on the panel.
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: I will take the Patriots to win this game for
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: the reason that Mike said very early in the show
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: before we got sidetracked with the Belichick to Washington discussion
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: the turnovers. I think that Sam Howell is pressured in
- 1:55:55Speaker 4: this game too many sacks and mistakes, maybe not even
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: just turnovers, but negative plays. I think the Patriots have
- 1:56:02Speaker 4: enough to win twenty three to twenty.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: Paul, I'm joining you.
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: I didn't see that. I don't know about you, guys,
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: but I didn't see it coming. I didn't see it.
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: Paul's being funny. Uh yeah, Defense to the rescue. This
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: game twenty one to ten Patriots.
- 1:56:19Speaker 7: I totally agree with you guys though. If the Patriots
- 1:56:22Speaker 7: are gonna win, that's that's how they do it. They
- 1:56:24Speaker 7: multiple interceptions, maybe you pick six, you know, like misforcing.
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: That's exactly what the Giants defensive scores.
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: My concern is that that Howel's just it's not gonna matter.
- 1:56:35Speaker 3: And like he could get sacks six times in this game,
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: but but he's just going to keep making some plays. Okay,
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: that's my concern. We'll see pressure, pressure, pep.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: We'll see who's ringing the bell.
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: Sounds like you. I don't know.
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: I have no idea to it, Alex. Maybe maybe the
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: winner or the leader of this thing gets to ring
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: it every every week.
- 1:56:55Speaker 5: All right, let's run that up the flag.
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: Okay. All right. As for us, we've got pregame social,
