- 5:50Speaker 2: enjoy it eighty degrees eighty four and partly cloudy on Thursday,
- 5:55Speaker 2: cloudy and eighty on Friday, but then the rain just
- 5:58Speaker 2: in time for the weekend. And listen, we live in
- 6:01Speaker 2: New England. Things could change. Cloudy sky's rain on Saturday
- 6:05Speaker 2: and Sunday both days' seventies. I know logan email Happy

- 6:25Speaker 2: Amy Schumer's forty five, Brandy Carlisle also forty five, fifty
- 6:30Speaker 2: two for a Lanis Moore set, Heidi Club fifty three,
- 6:34Speaker 2: mister Cooper, Mark Curry sixty five years old today. Look
- 6:40Speaker 2: at this Ronnie Dunn from Brooks and Dunn seventy three
- 6:44Speaker 2: years old. That makes me feel old. Ron Woods seventy nine.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Morgan Freeman eighty nine years old and top of the
- 6:53Speaker 2: list today, Pat Boonett ninety two. What's the one word
- 6:58Speaker 2: that you struggle to spell still to this day? It's
- 7:05Speaker 2: our Facebook question of the day. Mine is necessary. It's
- 7:09Speaker 2: up there right now, which I think I'm misspelled. City
- 7:13Speaker 2: of Barry giving me a notice here this morning that
- 7:16Speaker 2: stormwater upgrades at Camp and Hill Street going to be
- 7:20Speaker 2: affecting traffic today. Hill is going to be closed between
- 7:24Speaker 2: Patterson and Charles today. Traffic's going to be re routed
- 7:29Speaker 2: a way of Washington Street. Thank you Shay for reminding me.
- 7:35Speaker 2: The Special Olympics in Saint Albans on Saturday, the basketball
- 7:42Speaker 2: Summer Games, and this week the Torch Run happened all
- 7:45Speaker 2: this week. I think the Torch Run is Friday, if
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken, and I know that Shay will correct
- 7:53Speaker 2: me if that's not the case. But what a big
- 7:56Speaker 2: deal it's going to be. We have a lot to
- 8:00Speaker 2: get to. We're going to take a deep dive into
- 8:02Speaker 2: the community calendar. Erica Scott is going to connect in
- 8:05Speaker 2: with us from the Lamo Oyl Area Cancer Network to
- 8:09Speaker 2: talking about they're lasen Up for cancer event that's happening
- 8:14Speaker 2: not this weekend, but really really soon. So I'm excited
- 8:20Speaker 2: about that. There is so much happening. Our community calendar
- 8:22Speaker 2: is just I can't keep up with it, honestly. Saturday
- 8:27Speaker 2: Nights meteor was something that I was frustrated that I missed.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I didn't know anything about it. Didn't hear the sonic boom,
- 8:38Speaker 2: didn't see the flash in the sky. But apparently this
- 8:41Speaker 2: sucker was three feet wide and may have made it
- 8:47Speaker 2: to the ground, possibly a touchdown in somewhere in Cape
- 8:52Speaker 2: cod And there's what is it now? I'm trying to
- 8:57Speaker 2: go back. I'm trying to go back to science class
- 9:00Speaker 2: in high school. If it's a meteor, it burns up
- 9:03Speaker 2: in the sky, right, And if it's if it actually
- 9:07Speaker 2: makes its way to the ground, like physical rock hitting
- 9:10Speaker 2: the earth. I think it's a meteorite. Correct me if
- 9:13Speaker 2: I'm wrong. But they're looking for this, They're looking for
- 9:16Speaker 2: remnants of this meteor Saturday night. Everybody saw it, apparently
- 9:22Speaker 2: except for me, all across New England, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Canada.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Even what was I doing Saturday? I don't know. Sitting
- 9:37Speaker 2: right next to me on the curvy couch, Noah Payette
- 9:41Speaker 2: is with me talking softball this morning. Good morning, dude.
- 9:44Speaker 2: How how the hell are you?
- 9:45Speaker 3: Man?
- 9:46Speaker 2: I'm well, man, listen, Uh, here's the thing, and I'll
- 9:52Speaker 2: say this, I'll be transparent right off the front. I
- 9:55Speaker 2: don't really know much about softball anymore. Used to a
- 10:00Speaker 2: little bit when I was in high school and I
- 10:03Speaker 2: had I have since forgotten it, but I know a
- 10:06Speaker 2: little bit about it watching my my kid play, and
- 10:09Speaker 2: I know you have to get you got to run,
- 10:11Speaker 2: you got to run fast. This is softball is something
- 10:16Speaker 2: that is your your love, your passion. You breathe this stuff.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Man.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I've I've grown up around it. I've
- 10:24Speaker 4: been since I was since I was a kid. My
- 10:28Speaker 4: my dad's always played. I've it's always been whatever night
- 10:33Speaker 4: he's playing, I'm met the softball field until till whenever
- 10:37Speaker 4: when whenever, God knows. How long did you did you play?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Uh? Did you play baseball when you were in high school?
- 10:43Speaker 2: I did.
- 10:43Speaker 4: I was a high school catcher for down South, Okay
- 10:48Speaker 4: for four years, and yeah, I mean I loved it.
- 10:51Speaker 2: But softball you were able to get into more of
- 10:54Speaker 2: a kind of a community type of sport, not not
- 10:59Speaker 2: so much specifically baseball exactly.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, it's it's what the whole thing's about.
- 11:04Speaker 4: It's about just getting that group of group of guys
- 11:08Speaker 4: and girls that can just show up and look forward
- 11:11Speaker 4: to coming and yeah, just have fun.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Let's let's give some love to the pub there. I mean, yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 2: they're all right there on your jersey.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean the pub. The Canadian Club got KG
- 11:24Speaker 4: Auto Detailing, Yeah in Northfield, right, yeah, I mean all
- 11:30Speaker 4: of them. I mean there was I mean the pub.
- 11:34Speaker 4: They came in last minute that I had had a
- 11:37Speaker 4: sponsor back out and they when I'm when I was
- 11:40Speaker 4: over here pulling my hair trying to trying to find
- 11:43Speaker 4: my sponsor, and.
- 11:44Speaker 2: They Lindsey and Saya and everybody over there. They freaking
- 11:48Speaker 2: love softball.
- 11:49Speaker 4: They do.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I mean, it's did they have their own team? I
- 11:52Speaker 2: think they did at one point.
- 11:53Speaker 4: I think at one point. I can't can't quite remember.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Okay, so tell me. So this is Barry Koh Softball League,
- 12:01Speaker 2: which is what you're you're part of, and you've had
- 12:04Speaker 2: this this team caught looking for how long?
- 12:07Speaker 3: Now?
- 12:08Speaker 4: This is actually my first year putting in a team.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Really never done it before. I've been thinking about it
- 12:12Speaker 4: the past year or two. And I've played in the
- 12:15Speaker 4: league for I want to say three four years, so
- 12:19Speaker 4: it's I'm familiar with the league. It's just it's it's
- 12:22Speaker 4: a big step going from playing on a team to yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 4: having a team.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Uh. I wanted to ask you, are you payette? Are
- 12:31Speaker 2: you are you related to Travis? I am my god,
- 12:34Speaker 2: who's not? Really? Who isn't related to Travis Payette? He
- 12:40Speaker 2: is your uncle, your uncle, and he plays softball? Two right?
- 12:45Speaker 2: He does? What does he play for?
- 12:47Speaker 4: He plays in a separate league. It's a over thirty league. Ah,
- 12:52Speaker 4: it's a wood bat league.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Wood yep, okay, which is men only. I think right,
- 13:00Speaker 2: that's exactly all right. Why why co ed softball? Why?
- 13:05Speaker 2: Why is this so? Why is this so important to
- 13:07Speaker 2: have a co ed league, which we do Barry co
- 13:10Speaker 2: Ed Softball League.
- 13:12Speaker 4: I mean, it's it's something for everybody to do. It's
- 13:15Speaker 4: something whether you're a male or female, it's you can
- 13:21Speaker 4: something for everybody to do. And it's makes it a
- 13:23Speaker 4: little bit more competitive.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, is it competitive?
- 13:28Speaker 4: Oh yes, yep, it gets it. It gets really competitive.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I mean there's there's the people out there that like myself.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I mean, I'm there to have fun, but at the
- 13:38Speaker 4: same time, I'm there to I'm there to win, I'm
- 13:42Speaker 4: there to there to be competitive about it. And it's
- 13:44Speaker 4: or that's the that's the baseball player in me. I've
- 13:47Speaker 4: always I've always been competitive.
- 13:49Speaker 2: How how often do you guys practice and and where
- 13:54Speaker 2: do you practice?
- 13:58Speaker 4: I mean this year, we've been trying to do once
- 14:02Speaker 4: a week sometimes I mean weather depending. We haven't really
- 14:06Speaker 4: had the best weather. Yeah, sometimes we can't. We've been
- 14:09Speaker 4: I mean, well, will practice anywhere anywhere that has a field,
- 14:14Speaker 4: just something to get the swings in, get get kind
- 14:17Speaker 4: of the cobwebs knocked.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Off, put mostly up Barrytown Reckfield. Okay, uh, and you
- 14:24Speaker 2: practice or win are your games?
- 14:30Speaker 4: I know the rest of the rest of the season,
- 14:32Speaker 4: we're playing Friday nights. But if we get a game,
- 14:36Speaker 4: cancel it happens to it'll get moved to us Sunday.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Okay, if if the if mother nature pisses us off. Yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and she has she has been yeah a lot. Yeah
- 14:49Speaker 2: all right, so Sundays. Wow, So it's it. I'm guessing
- 14:54Speaker 2: that it's too late to join the team. Yeah, okay,
- 14:59Speaker 2: understand when it's a good time to start. First of all,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you should come out and check out the team. If
- 15:05Speaker 2: you're not familiar with it, come out and meet everybody
- 15:09Speaker 2: and experience the camaraderie. But when it's a good time
- 15:14Speaker 2: for folks to join the team, do you have to
- 15:18Speaker 2: like try out? What if you suck? That's what I'm.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Saying no, no tryouts. I mean, if you ever wanted
- 15:23Speaker 4: to put in, whether it's put in a team or
- 15:25Speaker 4: join a team, I mean there's I mean, we're always looking, well,
- 15:30Speaker 4: the league's always looking for new teams and players and players.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I mean, if you want to play. I know there's
- 15:39Speaker 4: a post out on the league's Facebook page Common that
- 15:45Speaker 4: you want to play Common, that you want to put
- 15:46Speaker 4: in a team, and somebody from the board will.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Either reach out to you or all right, how how
- 15:54Speaker 2: many players do you have to have to make up
- 15:56Speaker 2: a team?
- 15:57Speaker 4: I know the ideal amountains ten?
- 15:59Speaker 2: Okay, all right, but I mean what if you, uh,
- 16:03Speaker 2: you know what if come next year, you're thinking about this,
- 16:07Speaker 2: You're pushing it around in your head January February, but
- 16:11Speaker 2: you're you're just not really sure if if you're good enough.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Maybe you've never played on a team before, but you're
- 16:17Speaker 2: just looking to get out of the house and get
- 16:19Speaker 2: some exercise, meet some people have some fun. Like what
- 16:22Speaker 2: if you kind of you kind of suck at it,
- 16:26Speaker 2: You're just not I mean, do you have to be incredible?
- 16:30Speaker 4: You don't. And I mean this this league when because yes,
- 16:34Speaker 4: I grew up around it, but when I first started.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I yes, I knew how to catch a ball, but
- 16:39Speaker 4: I mean going from swinging a base swinging to hit
- 16:43Speaker 4: a baseball to going from a slow ped softball, it
- 16:45Speaker 4: was Yeah, it was a big curve. And I mean
- 16:48Speaker 4: I I sucked really and it. This is a good
- 16:53Speaker 4: league to get your feet wet.
- 16:57Speaker 2: And yeah, but good people pull though. It's greatly like
- 17:01Speaker 2: if if you if if you get up there and
- 17:03Speaker 2: you and you're you're not really good. Uh, They're not
- 17:06Speaker 2: going to ask you too hard. They're going to have
- 17:08Speaker 2: fun with you. They're gonna work with you. They will Okay,
- 17:12Speaker 2: you don't have to know everything about the sport to
- 17:15Speaker 2: be able to play. They'll they'll teach you. They will.
- 17:19Speaker 2: All right, that's good that that's like super important. It
- 17:22Speaker 2: is And I think I think having a community softball
- 17:29Speaker 2: league that's kind of imperative. You've got to you've got
- 17:32Speaker 2: to be like that. Yeah, how many So tell me
- 17:39Speaker 2: about your team? Tell me about looking.
- 17:43Speaker 4: So Like I said, this is our first year. We
- 17:45Speaker 4: have I think on the roster we have about four
- 17:49Speaker 4: I want to say fourteen people, which we've had.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Well that's pretty good, huh, it is.
- 17:56Speaker 4: We we haven't had to forfeit any games yet, which
- 18:01Speaker 4: that's one of my goals has been not need to
- 18:05Speaker 4: forfeit any games. Yes, I know we're sitting at one
- 18:10Speaker 4: win so far this year, which I think came a
- 18:15Speaker 4: couple of weeks back. But I mean it's great people.
- 18:19Speaker 4: It's don't really have an issue with fighting with people
- 18:22Speaker 4: to show up, which I'm glad it's not as stressful
- 18:26Speaker 4: as it could be.
- 18:28Speaker 2: As it could be. Yeah, that's I love that. That's good.
- 18:32Speaker 4: It is.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Finals are coming.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Up this month at some point. I can't quite remember
- 18:38Speaker 4: the dates, but I know we have a couple more
- 18:40Speaker 4: weeks and then we got league tournament and I'm hopefully
- 18:45Speaker 4: bringing our team to States. Know, we have to figure
- 18:48Speaker 4: out how much it costs.
- 18:50Speaker 2: So what does that look like? I mean regionally, were
- 18:53Speaker 2: starting to tap into pretty pretty broad area here.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, so States we play. It's a tournament out of
- 19:01Speaker 4: Hyde Park that that goes on every year. That that's
- 19:07Speaker 4: when it widens from I mean in the league, we're
- 19:10Speaker 4: playing leagues from local and then we go to States
- 19:12Speaker 4: and it's teams from all over the state that that
- 19:16Speaker 4: they put in their team go and Hyde Park and
- 19:20Speaker 4: we camp camp out for this weekend. And who it's awesome.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I mean, States is all it has been. It's always
- 19:29Speaker 4: been a blast.
- 19:30Speaker 2: And then they were the finals, Like, is there a
- 19:34Speaker 2: home team advantage to where the finals are? Are they
- 19:40Speaker 2: in barry Town Reckfield for.
- 19:42Speaker 4: The league tournament?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that's where our league tournament is. We'll play that
- 19:47Speaker 4: over a weekend and that'll be the league champion will
- 19:53Speaker 4: be figured out Sunday at some point.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah. What do you win if you win it? If
- 20:02Speaker 2: you win it all I know that. I guessing this
- 20:04Speaker 2: is a trophy.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Yeah, we have a trophy that circulates every year. We
- 20:07Speaker 4: keep with the same trophy and winner keeps a trophy,
- 20:10Speaker 4: and come next season the trophy would be put back
- 20:12Speaker 4: in the pot for if it's going to be a
- 20:15Speaker 4: repeat winner or a new winner.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Wow, are you hoping to uh you open to have
- 20:21Speaker 2: that that hardware at some point.
- 20:23Speaker 4: I'm hoping at some point that would that'd be the
- 20:25Speaker 4: cherry on top.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So your team is you said you've only got one
- 20:30Speaker 2: win in so far? Yep? All right? And how many games.
- 20:37Speaker 4: I can't remember we've played. I think we're I want
- 20:41Speaker 4: to say we've played six. I want to say we're
- 20:46Speaker 4: probably five and one somewhere around there are one and five.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I can't remember exactly how many games we've played.
- 20:51Speaker 2: You know. I I started out saying that I really
- 20:55Speaker 2: don't know much about this sport and I'm learning. H
- 21:00Speaker 2: I'm trying to learn, But watching my little kid play softball,
- 21:08Speaker 2: it's a psychological game. I mean, there's so much that's
- 21:14Speaker 2: going on to pay attention to. And I had some
- 21:18Speaker 2: you know, I always always said, you know, baseball is
- 21:25Speaker 2: as boring as golf, and I remember I had someone
- 21:29Speaker 2: say to me, but once you start understanding it, it's
- 21:34Speaker 2: addictive and you're going to be bitten by the bug.
- 21:38Speaker 2: And it's that's kind of happening now. Or there's all
- 21:42Speaker 2: these there's so many different scenarios of how things can
- 21:46Speaker 2: shake out good, bad and otherwise. It's it's really, uh,
- 21:53Speaker 2: a psychological game. You got to you got to watch
- 21:55Speaker 2: everything that's happening.
- 21:57Speaker 4: For the people that I mean, I've heard people say that.
- 22:00Speaker 4: I mean it's for people say slow pit. It's still
- 22:03Speaker 4: it's slow pit softball. What's so what's so hard about?
- 22:06Speaker 4: I mean it's coming in slow. I mean it's yes,
- 22:10Speaker 4: the pitches might be coming in slow, but there's there's
- 22:12Speaker 4: a lot more to it than than people think.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so cool, and things can go from zero
- 22:22Speaker 2: to sixty in less than a second.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it could be. I mean it can
- 22:28Speaker 4: go from having a game that's I mean you're losing
- 22:33Speaker 4: by ten to mean next I mean that inning you're
- 22:37Speaker 4: yeat up, or it's I definitely it can definitely go
- 22:42Speaker 4: from zero to sixty like that.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Have you ever been involved with the Winter co Ed
- 22:49Speaker 2: Softball I have.
- 22:50Speaker 4: That's something I that's something I do. I've put in
- 22:54Speaker 4: the team the past I want to say, two years,
- 22:56Speaker 4: and I've played in it the past three maybe four.
- 23:00Speaker 2: What's that like? I love it.
- 23:03Speaker 4: It's fun, it's a little it puts a little twist
- 23:06Speaker 4: on the game. I mean you're going from playing on
- 23:09Speaker 4: the field to playing and the foot to god knows
- 23:13Speaker 4: how much snow you're we're getting yea with stupid temperatures. Yeah,
- 23:18Speaker 4: I mean and maybe rain, Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 2: It's not maybe it's There has been many years where
- 23:25Speaker 2: it's been rainy, muddy.
- 23:27Speaker 4: I mean I know last year last winter, the tournament
- 23:30Speaker 4: was nice. It was sun actually came out and warmed
- 23:33Speaker 4: everybody up for a little while. But I mean the
- 23:34Speaker 4: year before it was I think it was so bad
- 23:37Speaker 4: they had to have a warming tent. Wow, I had
- 23:40Speaker 4: to have a tent that it was so cold that,
- 23:43Speaker 4: I mean, nobody.
- 23:44Speaker 2: How many how many years have you done that?
- 23:47Speaker 4: I think? I know. I think I've played for about
- 23:49Speaker 4: four Okay, I've put in a team the past two years.
- 23:53Speaker 2: So you're in this past year? Yeah, I was.
- 23:56Speaker 4: And how'd you do?
- 24:00Speaker 3: Not?
- 24:01Speaker 2: Very well?
- 24:02Speaker 4: We didn't do bad? I think we I think we
- 24:04Speaker 4: went I know we won a couple of games.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I don't.
- 24:07Speaker 4: I don't think we we placed. We were done on
- 24:10Speaker 4: we play it. We made it all the way through Saturday.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Didn't make it a Sunday unfortunately. But yeah, we were
- 24:17Speaker 4: we were fighting. Yeah, that's so cool man.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And and that's that's something that's been going around for
- 24:24Speaker 2: that's been happening for a long, long long time. I think,
- 24:27Speaker 2: what twenty five years something like that?
- 24:30Speaker 4: I think so, if not maybe longer.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and at least has raised an unspeakable amount of money. Yeah,
- 24:40Speaker 2: helping pediatric cancer patients right here, Yeah, in our central
- 24:46Speaker 2: mount region. Amazing. What do you what are you looking
- 24:51Speaker 2: for for? And I see you got the pub there
- 24:54Speaker 2: on on your jersey, But what are you looking for
- 24:59Speaker 2: for for sponsors for caught looking right now, you're pretty
- 25:04Speaker 2: much buttoned.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Up right now. Right now, we're buttoned up. We're coming
- 25:07Speaker 4: to the end of the season. I mean, I'm always
- 25:10Speaker 4: I mean, if somebody ever wanted to come on board,
- 25:13Speaker 4: and whether it's the sponsor for say States, I know
- 25:17Speaker 4: we're looking for States, or if there's even just a
- 25:22Speaker 4: team that wants to come out and if they want
- 25:25Speaker 4: a sponsor for there's another company that wants to sponsor
- 25:28Speaker 4: for coming next year. I'm hoping to get the sponsors
- 25:30Speaker 4: I have for this year, hoping to get all on
- 25:32Speaker 4: them back. What I mean, if there's any else that
- 25:34Speaker 4: wants to sponsor, will we'll work with you.
- 25:36Speaker 2: How many teams are we talking about here as part
- 25:40Speaker 2: of the league.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I think we have eight teams.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Okay, that's pretty decent, man. It is.
- 25:47Speaker 4: It's we're slowly we're they're slowly getting more.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And you're in the process of taking this love for
- 25:58Speaker 2: softball to another level. You're you're trying to do something
- 26:03Speaker 2: in Tonbridge, right.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a fall ball league that I played in
- 26:11Speaker 4: I think for two years now that it's a little
- 26:15Speaker 4: just league that we go to have fun and the
- 26:21Speaker 4: we the players umpire. Yeah, so we don't have our
- 26:24Speaker 4: own umpire, so it kind of makes a little twist
- 26:26Speaker 4: on the game. And it's during the fall, so it
- 26:28Speaker 4: kind of I use it kind of stay in shape
- 26:31Speaker 4: for when it comes to springtime. Yeah, I mean, but
- 26:35Speaker 4: I mean that's another league that's full of great people
- 26:39Speaker 4: that that I mean, there's there to have fun. They're
- 26:43Speaker 4: there to play the game that I love.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah, a little competitive, but but nothing nothing that we
- 26:50Speaker 2: that we can't handle. Yeah, what do you get as
- 26:55Speaker 2: as a sponsor For folks that are thinking about sponsor
- 27:00Speaker 2: for next year, what do they get?
- 27:01Speaker 4: So sponsors the main so we have our registration. The
- 27:06Speaker 4: league has registration fees that if a company would cover
- 27:11Speaker 4: that they would like. For instance, the pub helped us
- 27:16Speaker 4: with that, so they got on the front of the jersey.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Some teams don't get some teams don't make it. Whoever
- 27:23Speaker 4: covers that, that's gonna be the name of the team
- 27:25Speaker 4: or so on and so forth. But no matter what,
- 27:30Speaker 4: if you sponsor, you go on the jersey. And I
- 27:35Speaker 4: mean it's it's a great way to get your company
- 27:39Speaker 4: out there, because I mean, whether somebody from the team
- 27:41Speaker 4: is just wearing your jersey out and about or yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 4: I mean even at the field.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Do you do you get a lot of spectators up
- 27:49Speaker 2: at barry Town Redfield?
- 27:52Speaker 4: Not much. I mean we'll get family from players, but
- 27:54Speaker 4: I mean it's it's mainly I mean for the Sunday games,
- 27:57Speaker 4: you'll have three four teams that are out there that
- 28:01Speaker 4: are waiting to that they play later on that they're
- 28:04Speaker 4: waiting to play. But I mean it's mainly just you'll
- 28:06Speaker 4: get here in their family that wants to come and
- 28:07Speaker 4: watch their family play.
- 28:08Speaker 2: But yeah, are you looking for more uh spectators? Is
- 28:14Speaker 2: would that be nice? Is that something that would be
- 28:16Speaker 2: kind of a goal to promote that, Hey we got
- 28:20Speaker 2: a game that's going on two o'clock today or whatever,
- 28:24Speaker 2: bring your launch heir, come on up.
- 28:26Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, anybody that wants to come and come
- 28:28Speaker 4: and watch me and my team play. And yeah, anybody
- 28:32Speaker 4: wants to come watch.
- 28:34Speaker 2: What do you what do you? Are you already thinking
- 28:36Speaker 2: about next year?
- 28:39Speaker 4: I'm always thinking about the next year. I'm always thinking
- 28:41Speaker 4: about what what I could do to make the team
- 28:44Speaker 4: better or what.
- 28:46Speaker 2: What has to be done or yeah, like like what.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Anything, I mean, whether it's getting more more men or
- 28:57Speaker 4: more females or what whatever it's needed. It's all depends
- 29:02Speaker 4: on and it also gotta waiting at the end of
- 29:07Speaker 4: the year. See who see who says they're going to
- 29:09Speaker 4: come back and who doesn't.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah, what about the if you thought about having your
- 29:15Speaker 2: own Facebook page, your own social media for caught looking?
- 29:21Speaker 4: Not yet. I'm trying to give it a give a
- 29:24Speaker 4: little bit and then get get everything figured out.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Yeah, what about coaching? Have you? Have you thought about
- 29:31Speaker 2: getting involved with a local elementary school or or little
- 29:36Speaker 2: league or majors for for an area team.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I mean, I've thought about it a little bit before
- 29:44Speaker 4: I because I lived down South a little while before
- 29:46Speaker 4: I moved back, I was going to go back and
- 29:49Speaker 4: I was gonna coach my old high school team. Thought
- 29:52Speaker 4: about a little bit. But schedule gets schedule kind of
- 29:57Speaker 4: gets somewhat busy, so it's kind of hard.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you reached out to me. I think it was
- 30:02Speaker 2: sometime in April, if I'm not mistaken, I think so.
- 30:06Speaker 2: And that was when you guys, that's when you guys
- 30:09Speaker 2: are kind of kicking into gear a little bit. And
- 30:12Speaker 2: I think I think you were even on the hear
- 30:15Speaker 2: with me talking about the dugout I think so Dugout restaurant,
- 30:20Speaker 2: which is very much no longer a restaurant. You had
- 30:24Speaker 2: some some pretty uh shifting gears here, You had some
- 30:27Speaker 2: pretty strong thoughts about that. What say you about that?
- 30:33Speaker 4: I mean, like I was saying when we talked about
- 30:35Speaker 4: it last, it's it's an eyesore that's waiting for, whether
- 30:41Speaker 4: it's a casualty or someone getting killed. Yeah, I mean,
- 30:48Speaker 4: it's it's gonna take someone getting.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Hurt or killed or or a fire or a fire.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Yeah, and God knows if the fire department is going
- 30:58Speaker 4: to have the people to respond being a voluntary volunteer
- 31:02Speaker 4: department or what it's going to take.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. I was able to finally connect with
- 31:08Speaker 2: the mal Natties. And I'm hoping that at some point,
- 31:13Speaker 2: uh soon this summer, maybe Frankel will be on the
- 31:18Speaker 2: air with me and join me and talk about this.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, you're how old now?
- 31:24Speaker 4: H going on?
- 31:25Speaker 2: So you've your whole life, you've been driving past the dugout. Yeah,
- 31:32Speaker 2: you've seen you've seen it firsthand.
- 31:33Speaker 4: It's always been there, and it's.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Been deteriorating for a long time. I mean, yeah, we
- 31:39Speaker 2: we've we've we've said very emphatically on the air that
- 31:45Speaker 2: hopefully something at some point soon will be U decided Yeah,
- 31:54Speaker 2: on how that property is is going to be dealt with.
- 31:58Speaker 2: But you know, and and there're some folks, as we
- 32:01Speaker 2: said in our conversation about it, some folks that are saying,
- 32:05Speaker 2: there's so much history there, just leave it, just leave
- 32:07Speaker 2: well enough alone.
- 32:10Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, and there is, but I mean
- 32:12Speaker 4: there's also I mean there's stuff that can be done
- 32:14Speaker 4: to still chairish those that history and memories and not
- 32:18Speaker 4: have it a danger.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, some things I think should be maybe taken out
- 32:26Speaker 2: of there, maybe the sign up front something.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean save the sign and sign and they're
- 32:32Speaker 4: auction it offered.
- 32:34Speaker 2: You know what. You know what it comes down to,
- 32:36Speaker 2: It it comes down to money. You know, who's who's
- 32:39Speaker 2: going to be footing the bill for the clean up?
- 32:44Speaker 2: You know how much is the state couldn't get involved with,
- 32:47Speaker 2: you know.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Because I mean it's not going to come free.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Hazardous materials and testing and you know what's happening to
- 32:54Speaker 2: that that river, that little brook that's running right through there,
- 32:58Speaker 2: and what's that goes right into the jail branch. What's
- 33:01Speaker 2: happening with that? Yeah, I can only imagine who who knows? Yeah,
- 33:08Speaker 2: I know, man, this is a this is a discussion
- 33:12Speaker 2: that well, we'll still have on the airways. And I've
- 33:17Speaker 2: I've had a few people kind of scratch their head
- 33:20Speaker 2: and look at me and say, are you sure you
- 33:22Speaker 2: want to go down that road? But yeah, we will.
- 33:27Speaker 2: And and hopefully if I can get Frank in here
- 33:33Speaker 2: on the air and there's a few others too, maybe
- 33:38Speaker 2: you can be part of that conversation as as someone
- 33:41Speaker 2: who can speak up and say, hey, yeah, something something
- 33:44Speaker 2: needs to be done here, what's the town doing about it?
- 33:48Speaker 2: Back to caught looking your your team, You've got a
- 33:54Speaker 2: couple of Friday nights, a few left, okay, And what
- 34:00Speaker 2: what time do those start? These are games right, yep?
- 34:04Speaker 2: What what? What do they start at? Like five thirty?
- 34:08Speaker 4: So I know for a Friday is it's gonna be
- 34:10Speaker 4: either you're playing at six and seven or you're playing
- 34:13Speaker 4: at eight and nine. It's one of those two. And
- 34:17Speaker 4: I know this Friday, I'm my team's playing on at
- 34:21Speaker 4: six and seven. I can't quite remember the other. I
- 34:26Speaker 4: think it's I think we have three more weeks left,
- 34:28Speaker 4: but I can't quite remember the what times those are
- 34:32Speaker 4: at Okay, then whatever makeups we have are gonna be Sundays.
- 34:36Speaker 2: All right when you when you sponsor caught looking you
- 34:43Speaker 2: get on the jersey, but you're also helping, you said
- 34:46Speaker 2: with team registration fees.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Yep, we had I mean the pub helped with registration.
- 34:51Speaker 4: We had KG detailing, and the Canadian club they helped
- 34:54Speaker 4: with the cost of jerseys. So they all got on.
- 34:59Speaker 2: That helped.
- 35:00Speaker 4: That helped make it. I didn't want to make anybody
- 35:02Speaker 4: pay this year. Yeah, if I mean I was getting
- 35:05Speaker 4: to a point I was ready to pay for the
- 35:07Speaker 4: jerseys myself or.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Yeah, what about travel expenses and and all that fun stuff.
- 35:14Speaker 4: I mean travel, whether it's too and from the two
- 35:16Speaker 4: and front of the fielder, that's kind of you on
- 35:19Speaker 4: your own. That's that's on your own.
- 35:22Speaker 2: And what about traveling outside of of Central Vermont and
- 35:26Speaker 2: hotel if we get to that point.
- 35:28Speaker 4: Where I mean, if we get to that point, then
- 35:32Speaker 4: that'll be a bridge when we crossed to it. That's yeah,
- 35:35Speaker 4: I've never experienced that, but you've.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Been you've been part of this league for quite a while.
- 35:41Speaker 2: The barry co Eds up All League.
- 35:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's three or four years now.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Okay, And this is the first time that you got
- 35:49Speaker 2: your own team together called cut Looking.
- 35:51Speaker 4: This is my first year sweet man.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Wow, And again, big kudos to the pub for helping out.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I'm frankly surprised that Lindsay's not on the team because
- 36:06Speaker 2: she loves this kind of stuff big time.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I know we have a Lindsay. I don't know if
- 36:11Speaker 4: the same lens they were talking contoys.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I mean, she just loves. She loves well inside too.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I mean I'll have to talk to her if he
- 36:19Speaker 2: wants to. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, dude. Thank you for coming
- 36:25Speaker 2: on this morning and anything that we can do here
- 36:30Speaker 2: at the aired Out podcast to uh to support you guys.
- 36:35Speaker 2: You'll let me know. Yeah, and we're gonna blast it
- 36:38Speaker 2: all over the air and on on Facebook. So thanks
- 36:41Speaker 2: for coming on. Due very much, uh for too. Over
- 36:46Speaker 2: two decades now, the Lamoyl Area Cancer Network has accomplished
- 36:53Speaker 2: something that is truly remarkable with their annual Lasen Up
- 36:59Speaker 2: for ke Answer event I have with me Erica Scott
- 37:03Speaker 2: on the line. Erica, good morning. It is a pleasure
- 37:07Speaker 2: to have you on this morning. The Lemoyl Area Cancer Network.
- 37:12Speaker 2: This is a local nonprofit that does so much for
- 37:17Speaker 2: our community. We've got a big event coming up that
- 37:21Speaker 2: you're you're driving the bus on. But tell us what
- 37:24Speaker 2: you guys do throughout the year to help out families
- 37:29Speaker 2: with the expense and the emotional difficulties of carrying on
- 37:36Speaker 2: the burden of cancer.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 5: So one of the great things about our organization is
- 37:42Speaker 5: that we let them do whatever they want with the
- 37:45Speaker 5: money as long as they're going through cancer in a facility,
- 37:48Speaker 5: you know, cancer treatments in a facility. They can use
- 37:50Speaker 5: the money for whatever they want. They let us know
- 37:53Speaker 5: that they have cancer, they let us know where they're
- 37:55Speaker 5: going for treatment, and then we said it's as simple
- 37:57Speaker 5: as that. We start sending checks every month and if
- 38:00Speaker 5: they want to use that towards the expensive gas or utilities,
- 38:03Speaker 5: if they're not working, that's fine, or they can use
- 38:06Speaker 5: it for a night out, you know, they want to
- 38:08Speaker 5: go do something or just you know, whatever it is,
- 38:11Speaker 5: they can use the money.
- 38:13Speaker 3: There's no parameters on it for us.
- 38:14Speaker 5: So which makes me feel really good to know we're
- 38:17Speaker 5: able to do that for people during something at a
- 38:19Speaker 5: time that is extremely obviously difficult.
- 38:22Speaker 2: It's it's staggering that this has been something that you
- 38:26Speaker 2: guys have been doing for over over twenty years.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Now, Yeah, we're just talking about that.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Yeah, over twenty five years.
- 38:35Speaker 2: It's unbelievable. And I know there's been some chatter around
- 38:41Speaker 2: Central Vermont that the uh, the ANSUL the annual cancer
- 38:47Speaker 2: Walk Walk Walk for Life, I think it is is
- 38:52Speaker 2: not happening.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Oh no, kidding, I hadn't heard that.
- 38:55Speaker 5: I know that they do it for the American Cancer Society,
- 38:59Speaker 5: which obviously is also important. They raise money for research
- 39:02Speaker 5: and all of that is obviously also important. But there's
- 39:06Speaker 5: a need for the same thing to be in Central
- 39:10Speaker 5: Vermont for sure.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Absolutely. You know, we we chat with folks every year,
- 39:17Speaker 2: especially from our local Bikers for Beth Benefit motorcycle poker run.
- 39:24Speaker 2: The expenses, the price tag for cancer is it's unspeakable,
- 39:30Speaker 2: and it's it's disgusting.
- 39:32Speaker 3: It's awful.
- 39:33Speaker 2: It is disgusting. That is absolutely, uh the word. I mean,
- 39:37Speaker 2: there's you know, aside from the bills, there's there's food,
- 39:41Speaker 2: there's transportation, there's fuel.
- 39:45Speaker 5: Yeah, life, life keeps going on is the hard part,
- 39:49Speaker 5: you know, And that's the part that's just not fair,
- 39:52Speaker 5: is that you know that insurance companies aren't you know,
- 39:56Speaker 5: catering to people that have cancer and some people seductibles
- 39:59Speaker 5: are out of control, and even when they have deductibles
- 40:02Speaker 5: that are manageable, it's still you know, you life keeps happening,
- 40:07Speaker 5: but you have to take a step back a lot
- 40:08Speaker 5: of the time.
- 40:09Speaker 2: So this event, this event I was reading, has raised
- 40:14Speaker 2: over three million dollars.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, it's just incredible the generosity Vermonors have. And again,
- 40:26Speaker 5: yes we're in Loamoyle County, and yes we help people
- 40:29Speaker 5: in the lo Oyal area, so that includes places like Hardwick,
- 40:32Speaker 5: you know, a little bit outside of our own, but
- 40:34Speaker 5: we get people from all over the state and outside
- 40:36Speaker 5: of it that help us because they either have friends
- 40:39Speaker 5: and family or they just want to do good things
- 40:41Speaker 5: and give back. And also it's a fun event regardless
- 40:44Speaker 5: to go to. But I think Vermonors are the most
- 40:47Speaker 5: generous people I know. They they help each other when
- 40:51Speaker 5: it matters the host.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Where is this happening on June twentieth.
- 40:58Speaker 5: It's a People's Academy High School on Copley app and
- 41:01Speaker 5: morris Felt that the track and field there and you
- 41:04Speaker 5: won't be able to miss it once you get into Morrisville.
- 41:06Speaker 3: It's usually science pointing you right right in the right direction.
- 41:10Speaker 2: I know, that there's there's been somewhat some raffle tickets
- 41:15Speaker 2: being sold and some headway fundraising on this in advance
- 41:20Speaker 2: of the big date. But how can people learn more?
- 41:24Speaker 2: I know that you have a Facebook page called Lacing
- 41:27Speaker 2: Up for Cancer, but how do people get registered to
- 41:31Speaker 2: be a participant?
- 41:34Speaker 5: So it's probably the Facebook page if you have Facebook,
- 41:37Speaker 5: is the easiest place to go on and send us
- 41:38Speaker 5: a direct message and you know, usually myself or another
- 41:41Speaker 5: committee member, we'll get back to you on how to
- 41:43Speaker 5: do so, which we make it really easy. But yeah,
- 41:46Speaker 5: there's also our website LACNBT dot org that people can
- 41:50Speaker 5: go to.
- 41:52Speaker 3: They can give us a call to which our numbers
- 41:54Speaker 3: on the website.
- 41:54Speaker 5: But we have a lot of people selling things ahead
- 41:57Speaker 5: of time, actually right and Barry our family team sells
- 42:01Speaker 5: the Babe with Love bracelets and they do that all
- 42:04Speaker 5: year round, and they have their own Facebook page. And
- 42:07Speaker 5: then there's lots of teams selling raffles for I mean
- 42:10Speaker 5: trips and giveaways, and I mean there's also so many
- 42:13Speaker 5: things ahead of time. But then the day of the
- 42:15Speaker 5: walk you can get fried oreos and ice cream and pizza,
- 42:19Speaker 5: and I mean.
- 42:20Speaker 3: It's a carnival and that's our theme carnival for a here.
- 42:23Speaker 2: So you've had some great keynote speakers in the past.
- 42:29Speaker 2: This is somewhat of an informal presentation, but Rushy Deweze
- 42:36Speaker 2: knocked it out of the park a couple of years ago.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Great guy.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he like that was such.
- 42:44Speaker 5: An honor to have him come and tell his story
- 42:46Speaker 5: because I know he's also very private about his personal life.
- 42:49Speaker 3: So I thought that was really impactful. This year. We
- 42:52Speaker 3: have maybe not as well known to like.
- 42:54Speaker 5: Other communities, but the Damars family is pretty big in
- 42:57Speaker 5: thea Moyle County and Peg Damars was on board for
- 43:01Speaker 5: many many years and unfortunately her daughter got cancer and
- 43:04Speaker 5: they became from you know, she was on the board
- 43:07Speaker 5: to then being a family recipient and unfortunately her daughter
- 43:11Speaker 5: passed away and she's going to tell her story and
- 43:14Speaker 5: I just think her story will be very impactful.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Wow. So you take the money raised and you do
- 43:25Speaker 2: what you decide on a certain number of people, and
- 43:30Speaker 2: you basically cut them a check to help with their expenses.
- 43:35Speaker 5: So basically, like I think right now, we're helping around
- 43:38Speaker 5: fifty five or sixty people a month, and that number
- 43:41Speaker 5: ebbs and flows obviously as we hear more from people
- 43:44Speaker 5: you know that reach out their neighbors, friends personally. However
- 43:48Speaker 5: they reach out, they tell us where they're going for
- 43:50Speaker 5: their treatment and the frequency, and then we just start
- 43:53Speaker 5: cutting checks every month based on like if so, if
- 43:56Speaker 5: somebody's going to Boston for their treatments, we do give
- 43:59Speaker 5: them more than somebody that maybe going around the corner
- 44:02Speaker 5: for treatments. And again it depends on the frequency of them,
- 44:05Speaker 5: if they're going every day versus.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Once a month.
- 44:08Speaker 5: And then until they stopped getting treatments, we keep sending money.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Who started this what was the inception of lation Up
- 44:18Speaker 2: for Cancer with the Lemoyl Area Cancer Network, So there.
- 44:24Speaker 5: Was more than one person, but I selfishly always mentioned
- 44:27Speaker 5: my great aunt Mary Hoisington, who was since past it's
- 44:30Speaker 5: been thirteen years as of last week, but she was
- 44:34Speaker 5: one of the founders that she just saw a need
- 44:37Speaker 5: and her she had gone through breast cancer twice herself
- 44:41Speaker 5: and reached out to the American Cancer Society and I
- 44:45Speaker 5: think she got a check for like twenty five dollars
- 44:47Speaker 5: in the mail and it was something like that, and
- 44:49Speaker 5: she just realized that.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Wasn't going to cut it.
- 44:51Speaker 5: And yes, the American Cancer society serves a purpose, but
- 44:55Speaker 5: it wasn't helping the everyday people going through cancer, you know,
- 45:00Speaker 5: while they couldn't work, while they had you know, all
- 45:02Speaker 5: the things. So they sat around a kitchen table and
- 45:06Speaker 5: they developed this idea and it just kind of, little
- 45:09Speaker 5: by little has grown into the huge organization that we
- 45:13Speaker 5: are today.
- 45:14Speaker 3: And I am fever grateful that she had that idea.
- 45:18Speaker 5: I mean, through her own struggles that she was still
- 45:22Speaker 5: thinking of others, but.
- 45:23Speaker 3: That's just who she was.
- 45:25Speaker 2: And here we are more than twenty years later.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it's incredible.
- 45:31Speaker 2: You say, we walk for the fighters, for the survivors,
- 45:37Speaker 2: for the ones that we miss every day. Yeah, there's
- 45:43Speaker 2: few of us who have not been touched by cancer
- 45:48Speaker 2: in one form or another, in one way or another,
- 45:52Speaker 2: directly or indirectly.
- 45:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so sad. True.
- 45:57Speaker 5: I don't know anybody him life that can't say that
- 46:01Speaker 5: they don't know of somebody that has had cancer, whether
- 46:04Speaker 5: directly or indirectly.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, you're helping. You're helping real from honors, fighting
- 46:11Speaker 2: a real disease right here in our own Green Mountain state,
- 46:16Speaker 2: and you're doing it directly organically.
- 46:21Speaker 3: That's huge, And we're having fun too.
- 46:24Speaker 5: I mean, we're taking something that's very emotional, and we're
- 46:28Speaker 5: trying to also make this a day where they can
- 46:31Speaker 5: forget about what they're going through. They can forget about
- 46:34Speaker 5: the treatment that starts a get on Monday, that they
- 46:36Speaker 5: can walk around and watch their local legislators and you know,
- 46:41Speaker 5: friends get dunked in the dunk tank.
- 46:43Speaker 3: They can you know, do all the things.
- 46:45Speaker 5: Just to keep their mind off of it, and then
- 46:47Speaker 5: we end the night with fireworks.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I mean, we just try to make it.
- 46:51Speaker 5: Yes, it's important all the things that we're doing in
- 46:54Speaker 5: the background, but also we're trying to make it fun
- 46:56Speaker 5: for people so that they have a break, you know, just.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Have fun, enjoy the music, the entertainment, the food, the hope.
- 47:07Speaker 2: It's I mean, it's you got survivors that are there
- 47:12Speaker 2: able to share their stories and by God, they're going
- 47:16Speaker 2: to walk no matter what they'll they'll they're going to
- 47:18Speaker 2: be part of this every year.
- 47:21Speaker 5: Yeah, that's that's also impactful to see the people that
- 47:24Speaker 5: take that lap after our opening ceremony. You know that
- 47:27Speaker 5: we do a survivor lap and they can go out
- 47:30Speaker 5: with their caregivers or they can just walk by themselves
- 47:32Speaker 5: and to see the amount of people now that take
- 47:35Speaker 5: that lap. Yeah, it's kind of devastating but also very
- 47:40Speaker 5: impactful at the same time. And then we also do
- 47:42Speaker 5: a illuminary ceremony in the evening at dusk where we
- 47:46Speaker 5: fill bags white paper bags and people put pictures and
- 47:49Speaker 5: names of an honor and memory of their loved ones,
- 47:52Speaker 5: and then we light candles inside of them, and that
- 47:56Speaker 5: is impactful to see huge.
- 47:58Speaker 2: You know, I was just reading that they are right
- 48:03Speaker 2: here in central Vermont over at Montpillier High School. They
- 48:07Speaker 2: are sunsetting the Relay for Life over there, and it's
- 48:13Speaker 2: I know they're they're doing it in Rutland County, but
- 48:17Speaker 2: it is It is so wonderful to note that it's
- 48:20Speaker 2: still happening here in central Vermont and that it'll never end.
- 48:26Speaker 2: It'll never end. You guys are going to carry this,
- 48:29Speaker 2: uh this torch forever up there, I think so.
- 48:33Speaker 5: I mean, there's too many people that that care, they
- 48:36Speaker 5: would never want to let it go.
- 48:38Speaker 3: It's a lot of work, don't get me wrong, A
- 48:40Speaker 3: lot of work.
- 48:41Speaker 5: We start in you know, January February every year, so
- 48:45Speaker 5: it's not like it's not a lot of work. But
- 48:46Speaker 5: I also think the one in Central Ron. I'm sad
- 48:51Speaker 5: to hear that it's no longer. But I also think
- 48:53Speaker 5: that this will be an opportunity for somebody that has.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Always wanted to do something to maybe step up.
- 49:00Speaker 5: Maybe they'll come to ours, get some ideas and start
- 49:03Speaker 5: small and work their way up to it. I mean,
- 49:06Speaker 5: it doesn't have to be a twenty four hour affair.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Sure it's ten hours.
- 49:10Speaker 5: Sure you can have just as much of an impact
- 49:13Speaker 5: in ten hours as you can in twenty four.
- 49:15Speaker 3: So who knows.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Maybe this is the opportunity Central Vermont, just like Glamoyle County,
- 49:21Speaker 5: we have people that care, that have been waiting for
- 49:24Speaker 5: an opportunity, and maybe maybe.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Now's the time.
- 49:27Speaker 2: So wonderful. I hope to get you here in the
- 49:32Speaker 2: studio and you can bring anyone you want with you.
- 49:35Speaker 2: I would love to have you in here, Erica.
- 49:37Speaker 3: I'll I'll bring the circus.
- 49:39Speaker 2: I would love that so much. We got a little
- 49:42Speaker 2: ways to go, I mean here it is June first.

- 50:06Speaker 5: to sign up ahead of time. If you don't have
