- 1:34Dayna Roselli: He said, or she said, happy birthday.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: My birthday is on Cinco de Mayo.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: And what they're referring to is we were talking about last week, how it was my birthday weekend, and it always uh falls on Mexican Independence Day weekend.
- 1:47Dayna Roselli: And so um got a letter in from Alabama saying, hey, my birthday's on Cinco de Mayo and a big happy birthday to Dana.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: So thank you.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: Happy belated birthday to you.
- 1:57Sean McAllister: Thank you.

- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna talk about what we did and some just like Vegas tie-ins in just a little bit.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: But first we want to get on point with this Vegas sale because I think this is really important for all of our listeners.

- 3:51Dayna Roselli: Jeez.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: Two attractions for$55 at MGM Resorts,$69 unlimited zip line flights at Slotzilla.
- 3:59Sean McAllister: I mean zip away.
- 4:01Sean McAllister: Geez.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: That's a lot of stairclimbing.
- 4:04Sean McAllister: Or I guess they have an elevator, too.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: And then you can go over to the Palms and get a massage special for$99 at the spa.
- 4:11Sean McAllister: So when you're done dangling from the zip line all day, you can go and get the get all the knots worked out over at Palms.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: Look, you can build an itinerary just off of these deals.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: You really can.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: And then after that, maybe then you go for your gondola ride.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: Just relax a little.
- 4:27Sean McAllister: There we go.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: Have a nice song.
- 4:30Sean McAllister: Be serenaded.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: Then as you kick up your night, you'll have$3 beers or shots or$1.99 margaritas from any station casino.
- 4:38Sean McAllister: Great.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: So anyway, there's a lot there.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: And take advantage.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: Uh, we keep hearing you want cheaper alternatives, you want deals.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: Well, now you got them.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: Again, it's visitlosvegas.com slash deals.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: That's where you'll find the deals we just talked about, plus uh this five-day flash sale on everything Las Vegas.
- 5:02Sean McAllister: Again, starting Monday, September 22nd, going through the 26th.
- 5:07Sean McAllister: And by the way, this is all part of the uh Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority big uh welcome to fabulous brand campaign that uh just kicked off.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: And we keep seeing new elements rolled out as part of that.
- 5:23Sean McAllister: Um, the ride share at uh the airport.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: Uh there's a big fabulous uh sign there for you to snap some pictures, the uh tunnel that the players walk out at Allegiance Stadium for Raiders games.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: There's a big big sign there.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: There's stuff all over the place.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: Times Square, Sunset Boulevard.
- 5:44Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: It's yeah, where they are advertising Vegas in a big way, and you know what?
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: It gets people excited about it and makes you want to come here.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: So and then you hear deal or sale on top of it.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: Oh it's huge.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 5:58Sean McAllister: And just one thing.
- 5:59Sean McAllister: Uh this past weekend was Mexican Independence Day.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: It just sounded like the president there.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: Huge, huge.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: Anyway, it's huge.
- 6:11Sean McAllister: Uh, I saw a video online uh of the uh uh TSA check-in or the TSA security line at the airport at the end of Mexican Independence Day weekend, and it was wrapped like all the way back around like into the airport walking areas.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: So there were a ton of people here for I mean, we had a Raiders game, it was Monday night football.
- 6:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, uh, but we had that on top of the fight at Allegiance Stadium, tons of concerts, like we talked about.
- 6:45Sean McAllister: It was a jam-packed weekend, and it looks like a ton of people came in for it.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: When I picked my mom up from the airport the Friday where the weekend started, it was packed.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: I had to wait in a line of cars just to even get up to short-term parking.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: I would say I was in a line of cars for like 20 minutes, so it was bumper to bumper, uh, you know, baggage claim was packed, and I thought, ooh, this is a big weekend.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: It is, and like we said a couple weeks ago, I think just for the simple fact that it's fall and sports are back, yeah.
- 7:15Sean McAllister: Plus, we have uh weekends like we just had, and we have more weekends coming up that are just packed full of events, too.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: So, and it in addition, you add in all of these deals that people can get.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: I really do think that we're gonna see uh visitation numbers start to climb again.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think so too.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: And well, you mentioned football, and I know you're excited about football season.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: A lot of people are, it's always a fun time of year.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: And something we wanted to point out uh was the fan district that is returning and it's what it at Mandalay?
- 7:50Sean McAllister: Uh yeah, Mandalay Luxor.
- 7:52Sean McAllister: So um that's kind of where the walkway is to go uh over the bridge on Hacienda, um, over the bridge, over to Allegiance Stadium.
- 8:03Sean McAllister: Um, and that roadway kind of splits between Luxor and Mandalay Bay.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: Uh both properties have things that are going on inside.
- 8:13Sean McAllister: Some of the restaurants are all into football.
- 8:16Sean McAllister: Uh they have a fan zone that's built out uh in that area as well for pregame activities.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: Plus, there's you know things over at Allegion Stadium pregame also.
- 8:28Dayna Roselli: And they have meet and greets too.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: I was reading that with like they have different legendary athletes and stuff, yeah.
- 8:34Sean McAllister: Which is really cool that they do that.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: Um by the way, this is a total tangent.
- 8:39Sean McAllister: Um, but I saw another thing online of a whole bunch of people waiting to get uh their bags back from the lockers outside of a Legion Stadium after the Canelo fight.
- 8:51Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:52Sean McAllister: And people were not uh everybody, but the people who were waiting in that crowd to get their stuff back, they were like, This is the worst experience ever.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: I paid$20 and now I'm waiting forever to get my stuff back, blah, blah, blah.
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: Well, read the rules before you go.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 9:12Sean McAllister: And that's what a lot of people were saying in the comments.
- 9:15Sean McAllister: They're like, This these are the same rules that you'll find at just about any stadium across the country.
- 9:22Sean McAllister: You have to have a clear bag, it can only be so big.
- 9:26Sean McAllister: They send you a no before you go email.
- 9:30Sean McAllister: And if you choose not to follow the rules, guess what?
- 9:34Sean McAllister: You're gonna be waiting in that crowd of people to get your stuff back.
- 9:37Sean McAllister: Just don't bring stuff with you.
- 9:39Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: It's hard because you know, I do feel like it is difficult, but you you just have to do it.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: I mean, there are some times where I get a little frustrated, like I I want to bring my glasses, not wear them.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: Then I'm like, oh, that already takes up room in this bag.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: You need your license, you need your credit card, maybe you want some chapstick, you know, some gum, you know, you know, some hair ties for women.
- 9:59Dayna Roselli: There's other things.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: And and it can be hard, but if you plan ahead, you can make it work.
- 10:04Dayna Roselli: You just got to figure it out.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: I got the clear bag for Allegiant.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: I don't think you can take the clear ones into T-Mobile.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: Uh, well, you can't the sphere anyway.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: The sphere has to be a certain size, and clear is not allowed.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: But anyway, those are all the things you need to read and plan ahead.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: I'm saying it can be a little inconvenient, but you've if you follow along and plan ahead, you can make it work.
- 10:24Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 10:25Sean McAllister: You have to know what the deal is before you show up, because otherwise your stuff's either going in the trash or in a locker.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: And like, don't complain because I feel like, you know, last week we had this incident, this assassination on that campus in Utah that everyone's talking about.
- 10:40Dayna Roselli: And it's like I was thinking that when we went to Sphere, my mom and I were getting little bags out and trying to make it work.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: And I thought, and we both said, like, hey, I'm good.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: Like, whatever it takes to make make me feel safe inside a venue, I'm all for it.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: And that's when you gotta look at it.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: Like, it may be an inconvenience to you, but guess what?
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: It can keep it.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: It's for a reason.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: Keep everyone safe.
- 11:02Sean McAllister: So, anyway, that's that was my tangent.
- 11:04Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 11:05Sean McAllister: On bags for stadiums.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: So the fan district is back.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: Um, and like Sean said, lots of different things going on there, variety of events, food and drink specials, meet and greets, um, all with that short walk away from the stadium.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: So if you're coming in town for a game, keep that in mind.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: I did go over to Durango Casino, and I just, again, whenever I walk through the George over there, it is such a great place to watch football.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: It was packed on Sunday.
- 11:33Dayna Roselli: There's something about the vibe there.
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: I just love it because, you know, it's so it's it's indoor and outdoor.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: There's like open air, like even though there's walls, like it just feels like, you know what, we're in a town where we have beautiful weather in the fall.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Let's take advantage of this.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: This is exactly how it should be.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: That's what I felt like.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: Like a little open air, a little sunshine coming in, lots of shade, people out there in their chairs, some people eating inside at boots, everyone packed around the screen, standing at the sports book.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: It was so vibrant.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: What a great place to watch a game.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: Everyone in their football gear, cheering for their teams.
- 12:08Sean McAllister: Well, and they have uh the lawn games out there.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: So during commercial breaks, you can fill your time with some lawn games and it connects right there to the sports book inside Durango, too.
- 12:19Sean McAllister: So it is.
- 12:19Sean McAllister: That's a it's such a well-thought out area for sports fans.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: And I did notice, um, now I know the lawn games are there, and they might have been off to the side like a little and probably there before and after, but I did notice they put more chairs on the area where the lawn games are to give more seat options for people.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: So that makes sense.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so they're definitely trying because the demand is there for people to sit and watch the games, but it's so vibrant and I just loved it.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: So went over there and just noticed that you know it's a great place for football.
- 12:51Dayna Roselli: So FYI.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: If you don't know where Durango is, it is on Durango, right near the 215 highway.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: In Las Vegas, it's the southwest part of town.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: If you are visiting Las Vegas, um, it's a pretty easy drive over there as well.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: I did go to the summer house while I was there for lunch, and I just wanted to mention they have this grilled artichoke on the menu that is like absolutely incredible and amazing.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: That sounds delicious.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: Oh, it was so good.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: So FYI, if you love a good artichoke, they split it right in half.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: It's grilled.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: When you bite into it or you take a piece off and you bite into it, you can actually, you know, when you taste the grilled flavor and smell, and it's just like some char on there.
- 13:31Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 13:32Dayna Roselli: And they have this like little uh something to dip it in that was amazing.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: So that was great.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: Also, um, because it was my birthday weekend, the one dessert that I really love.
- 13:41Dayna Roselli: I'm not a huge dessert person, is a big chocolate chip cookie, like warm, right?
- 13:46Dayna Roselli: So they have great cookies there.
- 13:48Sean McAllister: They do.
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: So my mom's like, get a cookie.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we did.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: We both got a cookie.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: She got this Thai banana cookie.
- 13:54Dayna Roselli: I got the chocolate chip, and then she's like, Do you want some ice cream on it?
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: And we're like, well, okay.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: So we added a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: Anyway, but I was noticing on the bill, like, I think they were like$4.95.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: And then with the ice cream, I think mine was$595, and my mom's was$6.95 because she had the more specialized cookie.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: But like, that was it.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: And we were so full that cookie put us over the edge.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: But um, I think that's a great deal for a dessert.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: It is, it's a big cookie.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: I was gonna say a type of ice cream.
- 14:23Sean McAllister: They're not small cookies, no, and they're delicious.
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: So, yeah, I wanted to mention that.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: Doesn't have anything to do with football, but while I was at Durango and I wanted to mention the George, circling back to the cookie and the artichoke at Summer House, which is at Durango.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: Well, and uh that whole cookie, uh, it's like a cookie bar.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: It is almost because out front they have where they just sell the cookies, but then they're also on the menu if you eat inside the actual restaurant.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: So and they have a great patio too.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Something about Durango.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: They just know how to work the patios.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: It's real, it's really a great property.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: It it is.
- 14:58Sean McAllister: When they when they built that place, they knew exactly what they were doing.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:03Sean McAllister: And they added all the stuff that we love.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: All right, well, it's time.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: Isn't that what she does every year, Mariah Carey?
- 15:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, can you hear the jingle bells jingle?
- 15:15Sean McAllister: I know you can't, Dana.
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: I can't.
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: I'm I'm not looking for I don't love the holidays.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: I don't know what it is.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: I'm just not ready for uh mayhem.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: Anyway, people love their Christmas music, their Christmas shows.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: And Mariah Carrie is returning to the Las Vegas strip at Park MGM for holiday shows.
- 15:34Sean McAllister: She is.
- 15:35Sean McAllister: This is her jam.
- 15:36Sean McAllister: This is Mariah's time of year.
- 15:38Sean McAllister: It's always Mariah's time of year, but Christmas especially.
- 15:41Sean McAllister: Uh, she's doing 10 shows over at Dolby Live at Park MGM from November 28th through December 13th.
- 15:51Sean McAllister: Uh, it is the jolliest show that you'll see.
- 15:54Sean McAllister: It really is.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: And I was trying to think, has she done Christmas shows before?
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: Like specifically around Christmas?
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: Or just like her, I know she's had her residency, but I know she did like a Christmas geared show.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: Yes, she's done uh she's done some Christmas shows uh here in Vegas before.
- 16:09Sean McAllister: She's done in the past, um sometimes she'll do her run of shows uh in New York City at a theater in New York.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:19Sean McAllister: Somewhere.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: Um, but yeah, she's brought her Christmas her holiday joy out here to Las Vegas.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: Well, that'll be good.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people want to go see that.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: So excited about it.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: Also um saw Duran Duran's returning over to Fountain Blue.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: Um, they do really well whenever they come into town, and they're doing Thursday, uh, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: I hate to say that's 2026.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: Uh but um I know a lot of people like to see them, and the shows always get great reviews, so they'll be at the Fountain Blue and kind of part of the whole New Year's Eve festivities, you know, week the things happening that week.
- 16:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I know we just talked about uh on an upcoming uh TV show, Bruno Mars uh is gonna be back for New Year's Eve as well.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: I it's crazy that we're already talking about the New Year and 2026 right around the corner.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: From Target today.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: I think we got something in our inbox that said it's a hundred days to Christmas.
- 17:19Sean McAllister: It is.
- 17:20unknown: Yeah.
- 17:21Sean McAllister: I saw I saw that this morning.
- 17:23Sean McAllister: As we're recording, it's a hundred days until Christmas.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 17:27Sean McAllister: I won't worry about it until we're like 25 days out.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: Because then I something else, when they even shorten the window, well, the make it sound shorter, like 15 Fridays to Christmas.
- 17:37Sean McAllister: I'm oh my goodness.
- 17:38Sean McAllister: Here's the thing, we haven't even gotten to Halloween yet.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: Oh, thank goodness.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: I am not all pumpkin's pumpkin spiced out and all that.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: I'm I'm still taking, I was at the pool this weekend.
- 17:49Sean McAllister: As you should be, it's a beautiful time to be at the pool.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 17:52Dayna Roselli: Well, the weather's great.
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: Um, high stakes restaurant is opening at the Rio.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: We talked about this recently as well, and we just wanted to give you an update.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: Uh, this is Chef James Tree's new restaurant at the top of the Rio, redoing Voodoo Steak, opening it as High Stakes Vegas.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: And we now have an opening date, don't we?
- 18:10Sean McAllister: We absolutely do.
- 18:12Sean McAllister: Uh, it's coming up here uh pretty quick.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is.
- 18:15Sean McAllister: And they're now accepting reservations for high stakes, which I'm really excited about.
- 18:22Sean McAllister: Uh reservations being uh accepted for dining experiences starting October 14th.
- 18:29Sean McAllister: Uh, the restaurant is going to be open from 5 p.m.
- 18:33Sean McAllister: until 11 p.m.
- 18:35Sean McAllister: nightly.
- 18:35Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 18:36Sean McAllister: So that gives you a nice range of options.
- 18:39Sean McAllister: Um, I'm excited to get back in there.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I am too.
- 18:43Dayna Roselli: And see what he did over there.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: I mean, we just talk about it all the time.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: It's just a fantastic view.
- 18:47Dayna Roselli: It's a great spot.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: I'm glad they aren't just doing something with this that I think I think it's gonna really add to the Rio and it's gonna be really popular.
- 18:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, and as we've talked about in past episodes, James Trees is an acclaimed award-winning chef.
- 19:03Sean McAllister: He has uh sever a few restaurants in downtown Las Vegas and really around over in Summerlin as well on the west side of town.
- 19:11Sean McAllister: Um this, I believe, is his first casino uh restaurant at the top of the Rio.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: And really you can't get a better location than up there on the very top of the Rio either.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: It's a gorgeous view.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: Well, we always say it's like the Rio and the palms have really good views, you know, because they're just off the strip.
- 19:33Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, the Rise Festival is happening in October, early October.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: It's the third, fourth, and fifth.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: And if you aren't familiar with this, it's the world's largest Sky Lantern Festival.
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: It takes place in the Mojave Desert, and they have a lineup of musicians for three days.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: It's about 20 miles south of Las Vegas at the Gene Dry Lake Bed.
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: Um, they have some really great uh pop, like what do you call them?
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: Experiences happening at the festival this year, and they have headliners uh every single night.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: Rufus deSoul, Calvin Harris, and John Mayer.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: They just released the set times, and there's a by the way, a slew of other um artists.
- 20:15Sean McAllister: So oh, every night there's like two, four, six, seven, like at least a half dozen performers every single night.
- 20:22Sean McAllister: And starting at like three in the afternoon.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: And it looks like the headliners are what end it, you know, like it like after the Lantern uh lantern release.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: They so that they're later in the night, I think around 10.
- 20:35Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Uh so that should be really good.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: Um, and I, you know, something I learned when I was writing up our script to do this in our segment that we do in LA.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: I guess I never really realize it's a nonprofit event.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: So FYI.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: Um, it's the a collective art project that helps advance arts through education and financial support for artists around the world.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: Oh, that's great.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 21:00Sean McAllister: I didn't realize I don't think I realized that either.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so you can go to risefestival.com for more information, get those set times, uh, get tickets.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: I think one of the nights sold out Friday, sold out already.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: Saturday and Sunday are selling fast.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: Again, it's October 3rd, 4th, and 5th, right out there in the Mojave Desert.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: Um, if you're looking for something to do that's inspiring and emotional, but fun and artsy, this is definitely your jam.
- 21:27Sean McAllister: Uh something else that is coming to Las Vegas uh very soon that is really different from what we normally see here, the Global Champions Arabians tour.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: And we're talking about uh Arabian horses.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: This is cool.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: You and I were just chatting when we saw this.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: We said, Oh, Wayne Newton loves his Arabian horses.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: He does.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: He had Arabians at his ranch right there at uh off of Sunset Road.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: So that's how we were like, oh, we know Arabian horses or Wayne Newton.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, it is um.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Very popular.
- 22:01Dayna Roselli: And they've had like really successful editions of this across Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: Um, and I guess they just recently had one in Miami Beach.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: And so now they are bringing it to Las Vegas.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: And not only is there going to be the competition, but they are bringing in like DJ sets in a village area.
- 22:23Dayna Roselli: They've got a live performance of the greatest showman.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: They've got a special concert by Megan Trainer.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: It's all taking place at the Win Las Vegas.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: And the event is what is it, the 26th, 27th, 28th?
- 22:35Sean McAllister: Uh, 26th through the 28th.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: Again, over at Win Las Vegas.
- 22:39Sean McAllister: So it's going to be really interesting to see um how this event goes.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: I because you and I were saying, well, where are they going to do it?
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: And what?
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: So I'm like excited to get over there and see it.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: I know they're doing some media previews that we might try and get over to, but we'll definitely give you more information on that once we go check it out for ourselves because we're hearing it's going to be back.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: Right.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: So and it's just different.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: Right.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: I love when different things come to town.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: I did.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: I we just get everything.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: Like, hey, just add it to the roster.
- 23:10Sean McAllister: Right.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: I think I just saw an email come across too that we extended our contract with F1, Formula One Racing.
- 23:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, I believe so.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: So we just, it's cool.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: We love it.
- 23:20Sean McAllister: And there's lots more to talk about with F1 as that gets closer, too.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: We have tons of emails in our inbox about all the things happening surrounding that.
- 23:29Sean McAllister: So we'll get to that in the near future.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: And NASCAR's about to be here too.
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: So we're going to have an interview from up there.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: We're actually doing that this week.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: And then we'll have it in the next podcast to keep you posted on that.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: That's always a huge event year after year, a couple times a year now here in Las Vegas up at the Speedway.
- 23:45Dayna Roselli: Um, but let's talk Wizard of Oz numbers.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: Woo!
- 23:48Sean McAllister: Man, alive.
- 23:50Sean McAllister: I mean, the Wizard of Oz at Sphere has turned into a phenomenon.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: I think we knew that it would be popular, but uh like people are just uh going crazy for Wizard of Oz.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: I just saw a uh friend from LA who was apparently in town over the weekend and went to see it and said this is a must see if you are in Las Vegas.
- 24:17Sean McAllister: And in my opinion, it is.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: It is a must-see.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: That's a great experience.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: I went again, I'm gonna get into that in a minute, but let's talk about these numbers.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: The Wizard of Oz at Sphere.
- 24:29Dayna Roselli: Now it opened uh August 28th, and it has sold more than 500,000 tickets in total and has generated over 65 million dollars in ticket sales as of Friday, September 12th.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: Jeez.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Whew, that is a lot.
- 24:45Sean McAllister: So um Yeah, I mean, there there were reports that came out within the past uh week and a half or so uh saying that the Sphere was making like up to$2 million per day on Wizard of Oz ticket sales.
- 25:02Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: Wow, they they sold more than 280,000 tickets in the 15 days following the premiere.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: Man, I know.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: And so tickets a lot of people say for how long, for how long, they think they have like a month to go see it.
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: And I we never had an end, not an end date, and I'm not saying this is the end of the film, but tickets are on sale through April of 2026.
- 25:22Dayna Roselli: So you have time, but you might want to snag them.
- 25:24Dayna Roselli: It's thesphere.com, um, and they do have multiple show times daily.
- 25:28Dayna Roselli: So I took mom on Sunday, and it was great to be able to see it again.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: Again, I was super emotional.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: It's just so good, all of it.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: Uh, she loved it.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: And on our way in, it's so they are just so organized because they have the multiple show times, they need to keep things moving, and they're there's someone outside actually not yelling, but announcing if you're here for the five o'clock show, you're entering in this door.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Everyone to the left, and like you go through, and like I said, we had our little bags, so you just walk right through the security.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: They're great at letting you to know, go up to the escalator.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: Here's where the restrooms are.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: Um, they had the sphere experience happening in the lobby that people were checking out, and they really encourage you to be in your seats.
- 26:14Dayna Roselli: Well, not even they say it's a rule in the no before you go, you need to be seated.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: The show time, like we went to a five o'clock, is five o'clock, no late seatings.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: Um well, and the movie doesn't start 15 minutes late like a concert might.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: No, it doesn't.
- 26:30Sean McAllister: The movie starts on time.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: So here was our one little uh negative is that we um sat and then there were a few people who came in late and they disrupted everything.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: I felt so bad for the people around us.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: I had seen it before, and you know, I was grateful of that.
- 26:52Dayna Roselli: But during Dorothy singing somewhere over the rainbow, like the biggest, you know, part of the movie at the beginning, people were trying to find their seats.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: People were having to stand and let them through.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: This uh uh three people sat, then realized they're in the wrong spot.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: So the ticket lady was coming down and she was like, You need to move to this side.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: Those people had to stand up again.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: Then they had to find the seat.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: So then that row had to stand up again.
- 27:21Dayna Roselli: It was so upsetting.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: Oh, that's a pain.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: So I just want to say if you are going to Wizard of Oz, get there on time, follow the rules, just like Sean said with the allegiance stadium stuff.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: Know before you go, and you know what?
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: Just be courteous to the people around you.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: That was not necessary and it ruined the experience for a lot of people.
- 27:41Sean McAllister: Well, it's in truthfully, it's not really that hard to get your act together.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: No, it's not.
- 27:46Sean McAllister: Get your act together, know where you need to be and when.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:49Sean McAllister: Obviously, things uh might come up, but build in time for that.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: And if you're gonna be late, I don't care if you miss somewhere over the rainbow, but I care for the other people that are sitting there and going to miss it because they paid a lot of money for that ticket.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: And so it was frustrating.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: Um, other than that, um, after that, no disruptions.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: Um, so that was kind of at the beginning of the film.
- 28:10Dayna Roselli: But I just, it's so wonderful.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: My mom absolutely loved it.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: She thought it was great after we we got to go down and see the wizard because the experience changes in the lobby.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: There's something before and there's something after.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: So you really get to take advantage.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: Then we went outside and looked at the the witch's legs under the sphere.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: My mom took a picture again, very organized.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Ubers were coming in, everyone was getting ready to go in for the next show time.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: And so, and I just it was great.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: And like the opening, there were people dressed up in themed clothing.
- 28:41Sean McAllister: That's so great.
- 28:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, I love it.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: So it was a lot of fun.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: So I see why ticket sales are through the roof.
- 28:47Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 28:47Sean McAllister: Well, uh, Sphere also just came out with the ultimate VIP experience for Wizard of Oz.
- 28:55Sean McAllister: It's called the Bad Witch package.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: Uh, so what comes with this?
- 29:01Sean McAllister: Well, you obviously go see the movie, you get expedited entry, premium seats, exclusive lounge access with complimentary drinks and specialty food items.
- 29:13Sean McAllister: Uh, you get a merchandise credit.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: That'll make you a bad witch.
- 29:18Sean McAllister: Absolutely will.
- 29:19Sean McAllister: Uh, and you get uh a VIP exclusive poster of Wizard of Oz Sphere.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: Plus, for a limited time, people who buy tickets through this package get to see an official pair of Dorothy's ruby red slippers that are uh on display in the theory lounge at Sphere.
- 29:43Sean McAllister: And I believe that those are the same Ruby slippers we saw on uh opening night.
- 29:48Sean McAllister: And now those are part of this VIP experience, which is so cool to actually see those Ruby slippers in person.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: It is cool.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: I mean, it's kind of wild.
- 30:00Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: You know, I noticed during the movie, I never noticed the first time we were work kind of working, but uh the slippers too that they brought to life in the film.
- 30:09Dayna Roselli: Yes, um, they're just so sparkly.
- 30:12Dayna Roselli: It really adds a lot.
- 30:14Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, to see them in person, and I know there were a couple people commenting on social media saying, Oh, darn, I really wanted to see the slippers.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: They were only there for the world premiere, but no, now you can get the bad witch package.
- 30:25Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 30:26Sean McAllister: Which is exciting.
- 30:27Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, watching the Emmy Sunday night, I thought something uh uh funny happened that had a Vegas reference.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Uh, we saw our good friend Brad Garrett up there.
- 30:38Sean McAllister: Uh love Brad.
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: Brad had his has his uh comedy club over at MGM Grand.
- 30:43Dayna Roselli: Funny, funny guy.
- 30:44Dayna Roselli: But he did a little reunion with Ray Romano and they handed out an award.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: Wasn't that funny?
- 30:49Sean McAllister: Oh my, it was hilarious.
- 30:51Sean McAllister: I was laughing the entire time they were up there.
- 30:53Sean McAllister: Those two are so good together.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: They really are.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, it just brings it back to, like we said, the good old sitcom days.
- 30:59Sean McAllister: It does.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: Nothing nothing like it.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: Things just aren't as funny.
- 31:04Dayna Roselli: They aren't as well done.
- 31:05Dayna Roselli: I mean, those two are hilarious.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: So it was fun to see them up there.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: And Brad was kind of joking that Ray's had a little bit more work since, you know, in the in the TV and movie industry, since the end of Everybody Loves Raymond.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: And he's like, I'm, you know, out there doing some cameos on the dog whisperer.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: And Brad saying, you know, I thought we won the Emmy, or I won the Emmy that I would have had more work by now.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: And so it was really just so Brad Garrett.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: And then Ray said to him, You don't let him fool you.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: He's got a comedy club in Las Vegas.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: And then Brad yells out, Well, it's in it's in the food court.
- 31:43Dayna Roselli: And it was just so funny because his comedy club is some on your way to the food court.
- 31:49Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 31:49Dayna Roselli: It's a beautiful comedy club, though.
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: Great lounge out there.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: And so, but it was funny for him to he just points out a lot of the obvious, and that's why it's so funny.
- 31:57Sean McAllister: And gosh, Brad really is fantastic.
- 32:00Sean McAllister: And by the way, he does appear pretty regularly at his comedy club over at MGM Grand.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: So be sure to look it up.
- 32:08Sean McAllister: It's called Brad Garrett's Comedy Club.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, can't miss it.
- 32:11Sean McAllister: No, you just look that up and you're gonna find it.
- 32:13Sean McAllister: And you'll be able to see the show times uh when Brad is there.
- 32:17Sean McAllister: But he brings so many of his hilarious comedy friends through there as headliners, too.
- 32:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: And they do have a great roster.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: And you aren't getting the Brad Garrett that you get on Everybody Loves Raymond.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: No.
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: He is times 300.
- 32:36Dayna Roselli: It's not as clean, he's not as nice.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 32:40Sean McAllister: And if you sit like near the front, you might become part of the act.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: You might or you will.
- 32:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, probably will.
- 32:48Sean McAllister: But he's so funny.
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: He really is.
- 32:52Sean McAllister: When he gets on a roll, it's like You're right.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: We need to go see him.
- 32:56Dayna Roselli: Let's pick a knife.
- 32:57Sean McAllister: We do.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: See, that was good advertising on the uh Emmys.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: Because now we're like, we were both texting yesterday, like I we need to go see him.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: Now we need to go.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: And every time we walk by there, I think one of us says, That really is a great lounge that they have outside.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: I know it looks it's a nice spot.
- 33:13Sean McAllister: They have uh space for a band out there.
- 33:17Sean McAllister: They have the bar.
- 33:17Dayna Roselli: It's well, because it used to be on that entrance.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: What do you call that?
- 33:21Dayna Roselli: Um the other floor.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: And he used to call it the basement.
- 33:24Dayna Roselli: He'd say he was in the basement.
- 33:25Dayna Roselli: Now he's saying he's in the food court.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: So he pokes fun at all his locations.
- 33:30Sean McAllister: He does, but he's had good locations.
- 33:33Sean McAllister: This I think is a great location.
- 33:35Sean McAllister: I know on your way over to the Grand Garden Arena.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, do we want to talk about San Diego now or in tips?
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: Maybe we mention it now because it has to do with uh you and I took a day trip to San Diego with my mom, some friends, your husband, my friend Melissa, Robin for my birthday.
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: I wanted to go to the Top Gun bar there.
- 33:54Dayna Roselli: We had so much fun.
- 33:55Dayna Roselli: I love the movie Top Gun.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: The famous great balls of fire scene with Goose and Maverick and uh Meg Ryan is in there.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: Uh it was shot and filmed in that actual location, the original pianos there.
- 34:11Dayna Roselli: Uh, we had a blast.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: But aside from that, we also went out to eat.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: And a couple things we wanted to just point out, because we always like to say all we hear is Vegas is dead, Vegas has all these surcharges.
- 34:23Dayna Roselli: Vegas, and yes, there are things that are pricey here for sure.
- 34:27Dayna Roselli: And yes, there are little surcharges.
- 34:29Dayna Roselli: But what we notice over and over as we leave Las Vegas is that those surcharges are on receipts and bills anywhere or everywhere.
- 34:40Sean McAllister: Other cities have them too.
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: San Diego.
- 34:43Dayna Roselli: We had some sort of little chart, and we're like, what's this?
- 34:46Dayna Roselli: And the waiter's like, Oh, that makes up the difference for the fact that prices have gone up.
- 34:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, he said that it is um what was it even?
- 34:56Sean McAllister: I forget what the name of the fee was.
- 34:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 35:00Sean McAllister: But uh because you asked the server, you were like, What is this?
- 35:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was like what and he was like, Okay.
- 35:07Sean McAllister: Well, the server was actually kind of funny.
- 35:09Sean McAllister: He was like, I think it's so stupid, but here's what it is.
- 35:13Sean McAllister: Um, it's because right now, especially the price of food, uh supplies, everything you need to run a restaurant, things are fluctuating so much that they add in this fee.
- 35:27Sean McAllister: Um, there was probably another what, 25 bucks on top of the bill.
- 35:31Dayna Roselli: $16.88.
- 35:33Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 35:33Sean McAllister: $16.88.
- 35:35Sean McAllister: Uh but it does not go to the servers at all, to the wait staff.
- 35:40Sean McAllister: It goes to the operation of the restaurant so that if prices do uh go up on uh their menu items and the ingredients, that that surcharge will cover the fluctuation.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 35:57Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 35:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so it's weird, right?
- 36:00Sean McAllister: So everybody has these fees.
- 36:03Sean McAllister: Don't make it out to be just a Vegas thing.
- 36:05Sean McAllister: Right.
- 36:05Sean McAllister: You're you're making it out to be a Vegas thing because you're coming to Vegas.
- 36:09Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 36:10Sean McAllister: But if you went to San Diego, if you go to this was at a there's lots of places, and it was at a restaurant that was on the water.
- 36:16Dayna Roselli: So I don't know if every establishment does it, but um yeah, and I do think that they should say when they hand you the bill, like, hey, also you'll notice there's a line on there for a surcharge that we aren't in control of, and you know, but they don't, so you have to notice it.
- 36:34Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, we did have a great lunch right on the ocean at the sea level lounge.
- 36:40Dayna Roselli: That was fun.
- 36:41Dayna Roselli: Um, also, we chatted with an Uber driver who asked us about Vegas.
- 36:45Dayna Roselli: Is Vegas really dead that I keep hearing?
- 36:46Dayna Roselli: And all of a sudden we're like, you and I love to chime in and get all defensive.
- 36:50Dayna Roselli: But anyway, he said, Well, we've been dead too in San Diego.
- 36:54Dayna Roselli: And we went, You have?
- 36:55Dayna Roselli: And he's like, Yeah, yeah, it's been so slow all summer.
- 36:58Dayna Roselli: So again, it's not just Las Vegas.
- 37:02Dayna Roselli: A lot of places that are used to getting tourists, used to having a lot of travelers during certain seasons, have definitely noticed a dip.
- 37:11Sean McAllister: And we have said this repeatedly when we have personally gone to other locations because we want to know.
- 37:19Sean McAllister: We ask.
- 37:20Sean McAllister: Yeah, we want to know if it's across the board or if it is unique to Vegas.
- 37:24Sean McAllister: And no, it has been across the board, but Vegas gets the headlines because it's Vegas.
- 37:30Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 37:30Dayna Roselli: So true.
- 37:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we always conduct business everywhere we go.
- 37:34Dayna Roselli: We find a way, right?
- 37:35Dayna Roselli: Because there's we get we like to know and be knowledgeable.
- 37:37Dayna Roselli: We ask questions, and then we can write off the trip.
- 37:40Dayna Roselli: True.
- 37:41Dayna Roselli: We could write off the trip, couldn't we?
- 37:43Dayna Roselli: We'll talk to Tracy, our our tax advisor.
- 37:48Dayna Roselli: Tracy, we're writing off the trip.
- 37:51Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 37:56Sean McAllister: All right, starting off our tips this week, Dana.
- 37:59Sean McAllister: Uh, we go to the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas.
- 38:04Sean McAllister: This is the oldest hotel casino in Las Vegas, 119 years old, full of history.
- 38:12Sean McAllister: Part of that history is that they have had dancing dealers at their uh table games inside that casino uh for a while now.
- 38:22Sean McAllister: That was part of the attraction of the Golden Gate.
- 38:25Dayna Roselli: Well, that is no longer you know why you know why I'm laughing, right?
- 38:30Sean McAllister: Why?
- 38:30Dayna Roselli: Because I'm gonna talk about the video that was sent to us from the night.
- 38:34Dayna Roselli: We couldn't make it over there, but we were looking at the video and we're like, these dealers are really not into their dance.
- 38:41Sean McAllister: Well, I think they were probably sad because it was like the last night that they were gonna be dealing.
- 38:47Dayna Roselli: Maybe.
- 38:48Dayna Roselli: But then I kind of watched it and thought, well, no wonder the dancing dealers are going away.
- 38:52Dayna Roselli: They are not grooving like they should be.
- 38:56Sean McAllister: It wasn't the most energetic scene.
- 38:59Sean McAllister: However, go ahead.
- 39:00Sean McAllister: So moving on is switching over its gaming floor to all electronic games, uh, which they say pushes the historic property into a new era, uh, but they're also uh giving out free drinks like every night.
- 39:17Sean McAllister: Every single night from 6 to 7 p.m.
- 39:20Sean McAllister: And uh free slot play on the brand new electronic table games, uh, which is uh great.
- 39:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 39:30Dayna Roselli: So they're calling it the night starts here, and it is a uh basically Las Vegas' only deli open bar, they're calling it, um, because I it probably is.
- 39:42Dayna Roselli: Um, but uh begins Friday, September 19th.
- 39:45Dayna Roselli: And yeah, so no more dancing dealers, but free drinks.
- 39:49Sean McAllister: So free drinks.
- 39:50Sean McAllister: You do, however, have to stop over to the club one desk, show your ID, and get a player's card, and that gets you in for the free drink and the slot play.
- 40:03Sean McAllister: And it's easy to get a card.
- 40:05Dayna Roselli: It is, and it says, uh, let's see, the club one desk, you have to go there between four and seven, present a valid ID, and then you get a wristband granting open bar access and a sealed envelope containing a coupon promo with a mystery denomination ranging from five to one thousand dollars to use on the slot machines.
- 40:27Dayna Roselli: This is fun.
- 40:28Sean McAllister: I love mysteries.
- 40:30Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 40:30Dayna Roselli: Coupons are valid for play between 6 and 7:14 p.m.
- 40:36Dayna Roselli: Uh only.
- 40:37Dayna Roselli: After that, they automatically expire.
- 40:39Dayna Roselli: And so this is every single night.
- 40:40Dayna Roselli: So this is awesome.
- 40:41Dayna Roselli: The Golden Gate is so historic, it's such a cool property.
- 40:45Dayna Roselli: Um, and then the drinks, it's over at the Prohibition Bar.
- 40:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, which is right there.
- 40:49Sean McAllister: Uh you can't miss it.
- 40:51Sean McAllister: If you go in, you can't miss it.
- 40:53Sean McAllister: Uh, but Derek Stevens, the owner of the Golden Gate, he also owns Circa, the D.
- 40:58Sean McAllister: Um, he says he wants Golden Gate to be the first stop that people make to begin their night.
- 41:05Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 41:06Dayna Roselli: He really has some great ideas.
- 41:08Dayna Roselli: He does.
- 41:09Dayna Roselli: And his marketing is on point, like like Las Vegas' only daily open bar.
- 41:14Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 41:14Dayna Roselli: Just like Las Vegas' only, you know, pool and sports book.
- 41:19Dayna Roselli: Las Vegas's only garage mahal.
- 41:22Dayna Roselli: Only garage mahal.
- 41:23Dayna Roselli: Um, what the world's largest sports book.
- 41:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, he just, yeah, he knows what he's doing and it works, and the places are packed.
- 41:31Dayna Roselli: And when you get there, it's legit.
- 41:33Sean McAllister: It is.
- 41:34Dayna Roselli: So um they just they're doing some great stuff over there.
- 41:38Dayna Roselli: So that's really fun.
- 41:39Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, that that has been, and we did a big story on it.
- 41:42Dayna Roselli: You can see it on our YouTube.
- 41:43Dayna Roselli: It's been around 119 years at Golden Gate.
- 41:46Sean McAllister: Man.
- 41:47Sean McAllister: And now all electronic table games.
- 41:49Sean McAllister: All electronic table games.
- 41:50Sean McAllister: You gotta bring the boogie on your own.
- 41:55Sean McAllister: So get a drink at the bar, get your card, get your drink at the bar, do a little dance, pay homage to the dancing dealers, and then hit the electronic games.
- 42:04Dayna Roselli: There you go.
- 42:05Sean McAllister: With hopefully up to a thousand dollars in free play.
- 42:09Dayna Roselli: All right, FYI.
- 42:11Dayna Roselli: Um, I did go to the airport three times last week, and I felt like I learned a lot.
- 42:16Sean McAllister: What a globe trotter.
- 42:18Sean McAllister: I know.
- 42:18Sean McAllister: I'm a California trotter.
- 42:20Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 42:20Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 42:21Dayna Roselli: I went to California to California twice.
- 42:23Dayna Roselli: I went to Los Angeles and then San Diego.
- 42:25Dayna Roselli: Los Angeles for work, uh, San Diego for fun, and then I did an airport pickup when I picked up my mom.
- 42:32Dayna Roselli: So I used long-term parking, short-term parking, and valet all in one week.
- 42:36Sean McAllister: Oh, let's hear it.
- 42:37Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 42:38Dayna Roselli: So um, well, first of all, I texted you the one time that I went to Los Angeles and I was like, I paid less for long-term parking than I did at a hotel casino.
- 42:49Sean McAllister: Very true.
- 42:50Dayna Roselli: I think it was, what did I say?
- 42:51Dayna Roselli: $24 or$28.
- 42:52Dayna Roselli: I think it was$24.
- 42:54Dayna Roselli: Um, but I went for basically 24 hours.
- 42:57Dayna Roselli: I left at like 5 p.m.
- 42:59Dayna Roselli: on a Monday and returned at about 7:30, 8 o'clock on a Tuesday.
- 43:05Dayna Roselli: And I thought that was pretty good for long-term parking.
- 43:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, that was a great price.
- 43:10Dayna Roselli: I was happy with that.
- 43:11Dayna Roselli: I was like, okay, totally worth it.
- 43:13Dayna Roselli: Um, when I did go pick up my mom, I used short term.
- 43:17Dayna Roselli: And I wasn't sure like what qualifies as short term because I thought about when we went to San Diego for the day, should I park in short term?
- 43:23Dayna Roselli: But it says that um the window needs to be one to three hours.
- 43:28Dayna Roselli: So it's not really a place to park if you're gonna park or leave all day or overnight.
- 43:34Dayna Roselli: You can't, but um, and that's three bucks, which is fine.
- 43:37Dayna Roselli: I think they give you like 18 minutes free.
- 43:39Sean McAllister: But I I was gonna say, I feel like I've gone and done a really quick pickup in short term, and I haven't had to pay at all.
- 43:48Dayna Roselli: Yes, it's very true.
- 43:49Dayna Roselli: I like to bring my mom in, make sure she gets through security, help her check in her bag or just wave goodbye, whatever.
- 43:55Dayna Roselli: Um, and then when I picked her up, I like to meet in baggage claim to help her carry a bag.
- 44:00Dayna Roselli: So it took a little longer.
- 44:01Dayna Roselli: But I was like right over, I didn't even look, but you know, maybe it was 25 minutes instead of the 18.
- 44:06Dayna Roselli: But it was$3.
- 44:08Sean McAllister: Great.
- 44:08Dayna Roselli: Fine.
- 44:08Dayna Roselli: Whatever.
- 44:09Dayna Roselli: Um, but the day we went to San Diego, I said, you know, I haven't valeted in a while.
- 44:12Dayna Roselli: Let me try.
- 44:13Dayna Roselli: Because I wondered, like, well, if I Uber there, it's usually affordable and home, but it's usually like, you know, 17 bucks plus tip.
- 44:21Dayna Roselli: So I thought, you know what?
- 44:22Dayna Roselli: Valet's$30 max for the day.
- 44:25Dayna Roselli: That's cheaper than an Uber.
- 44:27Dayna Roselli: So let me try this.
- 44:28Dayna Roselli: So easy.
- 44:29Dayna Roselli: You pull right in, you know, they give you the ticket, they ask you how long you're probably going to be there, what, what time that you think you'll be back.
- 44:36Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, you know, we're supposed to return at 10 p.m.
- 44:39Dayna Roselli: This was at 9 30 in the morning.
- 44:41Dayna Roselli: Great.
- 44:41Dayna Roselli: Picked up my car, paid with a card, uh, gave the guy a tip, and rolled right out of there.
- 44:48Dayna Roselli: It was easy peasy.
- 44:50Sean McAllister: Super easy.
- 44:51Dayna Roselli: So I feel like if you've ever been intimidated by valet at the airport, don't be.
- 44:57Dayna Roselli: And you literally just walk over the bridge and it's right there.
- 45:00Dayna Roselli: It was very, very easy.
- 45:02Dayna Roselli: So if you want to avoid, because I do think it's hard to find a spot in long long-term parking sometimes.
- 45:06Dayna Roselli: And I know we talked about the pre-booking.
- 45:08Sean McAllister: Right.
- 45:09Sean McAllister: Which is what I do.
- 45:10Dayna Roselli: Okay, so you did that.
- 45:11Sean McAllister: I pre-booked long-term parking at the airport.
- 45:15Sean McAllister: Um and I had to put in that I was going to be there for 24 hours, even though it was like 12 or whatever or whatever we were there.
- 45:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, however long it was.
- 45:24Sean McAllister: But um, so I probably ended up paying more than than I should have.
- 45:30Sean McAllister: But it was easier just to do that, know that I had the spot, go check in.
- 45:37Sean McAllister: Because you just scan the code on your phone.
- 45:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 45:40Sean McAllister: There's a QR code that you scan on your way to the phone.
- 45:42Dayna Roselli: So you get to pick your spot?
- 45:43Sean McAllister: You don't get to pick your spot, but you do have to put in uh your arrival time and it makes it so that you can't uh go through the gate until the time that you put on your uh reservation.
- 46:02Dayna Roselli: There's no arriving early.
- 46:03Sean McAllister: So I mean you might be able there might be a small window, but I did my booking was incorrect one time when I did it.
- 46:12Sean McAllister: I I put in the wrong day.
- 46:14Sean McAllister: And so I was a day early when I was actually showing up for my flight, and it wouldn't scan, wouldn't scan.
- 46:21Sean McAllister: I called the uh uh helpline, the push the button, and the lady was like, Oh, you're not scheduled for until tomorrow at this time.
- 46:30Sean McAllister: I was like, Oh no.
- 46:32Sean McAllister: So but the gate doesn't open up unless you're supposed to be there.
- 46:36Dayna Roselli: Okay, I see.
- 46:37Dayna Roselli: So you gotta again pay attention.
- 46:40Dayna Roselli: It's hard to it's hard.
- 46:43Dayna Roselli: There's so many things to do.
- 46:44Dayna Roselli: You know, traveling is it's not easy.
- 46:47Dayna Roselli: There's a lot to plan.
- 46:48Dayna Roselli: There is a lot to do.
- 46:50Sean McAllister: In addition to everything else that's happening going on and having to be planned and taken care of.
- 46:56Dayna Roselli: We had uh my flights to LA were pretty loose to Burbank.
- 47:00Dayna Roselli: I went to Burbank.
- 47:01Dayna Roselli: Um, not full planes, but San Diego there and back.
- 47:05Sean McAllister: We were to and from packed.
- 47:06Dayna Roselli: Full planes, right?
- 47:08Dayna Roselli: That was a busy and I thought, wow, there are so many flights today, too, like all in a row.
- 47:14Dayna Roselli: So a lot of a lot of people going back and forth to San Diego.
- 47:18Dayna Roselli: So nice to see it.
- 47:19Dayna Roselli: We had a good time, had some lunch by the ocean.
- 47:21Dayna Roselli: Um, and you know what?
- 47:22Dayna Roselli: Parking wasn't too bad, so we'll take it.
- 47:24Dayna Roselli: Um, you kind of already mentioned, and I was gonna tie this in, that they do have the fabulous pickups at Harry Reed now.
- 47:30Dayna Roselli: Um, and that is the Uber pickup spot, the ride share pickup spot, I should say Uber Lyft at Terminal One.
- 47:37Dayna Roselli: Um, so now when you're there, you might see some showgirls, you might see some DJs, you'll see some neon lights, all that kind of thing every now and then.
- 47:46Dayna Roselli: Um they have a uh, you know, Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas brand campaign that they kicked off, and we're talking about the the convention and visitors authority.
- 47:54Dayna Roselli: So they've really kind of upped the game over there at the rideshare pickup and drop off.
- 47:58Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 47:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, you have an Instagrammable moment as soon as you step off the plane and wait for your car to pick you up.
- 48:06Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 48:06Dayna Roselli: And then when you share it, it's free promo for Vegas.
- 48:10Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 48:10Sean McAllister: So how it's designed.
- 48:12Dayna Roselli: How it's designed.
- 48:14Dayna Roselli: Um Sean, do you watch the The Summer I Turn Pretty?
- 48:18Sean McAllister: I do not.
- 48:19Dayna Roselli: It's the finale week.
- 48:20Dayna Roselli: So I was just thinking it's tomorrow.
- 48:21Dayna Roselli: Well, we're recording on a Tuesday, so this will run after, but um it the big finale is tomorrow, and like it's I might have to wake up early.
- 48:31Dayna Roselli: Well, not even early.
- 48:33Dayna Roselli: I might have to watch it as soon as I get up because it drops at midnight.
- 48:36Dayna Roselli: I don't think I can wait the whole day anymore because everyone spoils it on the internet.
- 48:41Dayna Roselli: And so FYI tomorrow, I am gonna be sitting there with coffee watching the finale because I don't want any spoilers all day.
- 48:51Sean McAllister: Well, I can't wait for the I can't wait for the update.
- 48:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so just FYI to all my I know there are a lot of people out there that watch the summer I turn pretty.
- 48:59Dayna Roselli: I am team Conrad all the way.
- 49:01Dayna Roselli: So fingers crossed, everything works out.
- 49:05Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm excited for that.
- 49:07Dayna Roselli: It has been like this entirely viral show that everyone is watching, except Sean.
- 49:13Sean McAllister: Except me.
- 49:14Sean McAllister: But I also wish you the best, Conrad.
- 49:18Dayna Roselli: Conrad's a nice guy, he's very Virgo oriented.
- 49:21Dayna Roselli: He eats chicken every night.
- 49:23Dayna Roselli: Uh, he's nice to people, he is funny, and he likes a good routine, and um he's kind of like not a mess.
- 49:33Dayna Roselli: He's like really organized.
- 49:35Dayna Roselli: And uh he really cares about Belly.
- 49:38Dayna Roselli: And um, you know, she chose his brother in the end to get married to.
- 49:43Dayna Roselli: The wedding didn't go off, and now Conrad has said, Belly, I love you, I always have.
- 49:49Sean McAllister: And so now he's trying to steal his brother's wife.
- 49:53Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 49:54Dayna Roselli: No, they're not married.
- 49:55Dayna Roselli: So she called off the they called off the wedding.
- 49:57Sean McAllister: Oh, called it off.
- 49:57Sean McAllister: Got it.
- 49:58Dayna Roselli: But Jeremiah and Belly got together after Belly was already with Conrad first.
- 50:03Dayna Roselli: So Jeremiah kind of stole Belly from Conrad.
- 50:06Sean McAllister: I feel like Conrad has a messy family.
- 50:10Sean McAllister: Who's like passing girls back and forth with their brother?
- 50:14Dayna Roselli: So I was reading this whole thing and like Vogue, and it was like, why do, especially women in their 30s, 40s, 20s, whatever, love these shows where a girl has to fight over two brothers?
- 50:24Dayna Roselli: It's like a thing.
- 50:27Dayna Roselli: And they went through all the shows, and I was like, oh my God, and I don't remember, but like vampire diaries, like all, and there was always two brothers, two brothers.
- 50:34Dayna Roselli: There's uh a show on right now, My Life with the Walter Family or whatever it's called, Walter Brothers.
- 50:39Dayna Roselli: And that one, two brothers.
- 50:41Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 50:41Dayna Roselli: There's like a fascination with the whole brothers thing.
- 50:44Dayna Roselli: I know it's messy, but that's what makes it good TV.
- 50:47Sean McAllister: All right.
- 50:48Sean McAllister: Well, I hope that you enjoy the finale with your cup of coffee.
- 50:52Dayna Roselli: Thank you.
- 50:53Dayna Roselli: Um hey, uh, thanks to Vegas Near Me, as always.
- 50:57Dayna Roselli: Download the app.

- 52:33Dayna Roselli: How long was that?
- 52:34Sean McAllister: Like uh almost 55 minutes.
- 52:37Dayna Roselli: This might be the longest podcast we've done in a long time.
- 52:40Sean McAllister: We had a lot to say.
- 52:41Dayna Roselli: We really did.
- 52:42Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 52:43Dayna Roselli: And we left some stuff out.
- 52:44Sean McAllister: Hope it was worth it.
