- 0:00Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Marc Simone? Three! The
- 0:04Speaker 1: Marc Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 0:08Speaker 2: 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 0:10Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:13Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 0:13Speaker 1: So, you know, they've caught a lot of illegal immigrants
- 0:16Speaker 1: trying to vote. Lots of illegals. Trying to vote. They've
- 0:29Speaker 1: been caught. States have admitted to it. You know how
- 0:33Speaker 1: much coverage it's been getting on network TV, ABC, CBS, NBC?
- 0:39Speaker 1: There's an organization that studies this. The exact number of
- 0:44Speaker 1: minutes it's been covered by ABC, CBS, and NBC is zero.
- 0:50Speaker 1: That's the number. Zero. No coverage of it at all.
- 0:55Speaker 1: President Trump apparently, reportedly weighing new Iran strikes before the midterms. Now,
- 1:01Speaker 1: we know after the midterms, once it's over, Iran is
- 1:04Speaker 1: just going to get wiped out, just completely wiped out. See,
- 1:07Speaker 1: they think good strategies wait for the midterms. And then
- 1:11Speaker 1: if the president loses the midterms, the new Democratic Congress
- 1:16Speaker 1: will stop the war. I don't think they calculated into this.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Right after the midterms, let's say the Democrats win. They
- 1:26Speaker 1: don't take office until January. Trump would have two months
- 1:29Speaker 1: to wipe out Iran. But apparently there have been meetings,
- 1:32Speaker 1: preparations by the Pentagon, just in case they may launch
- 1:36Speaker 1: a massive amount of strikes against Iran before the midterms,
- 1:42Speaker 1: just to make it look like something's going to turn
- 1:45Speaker 1: in Iraq. Now, some of this is being reported by Atlantic,
- 1:49Speaker 1: the Atlantic, which has now become about the most unreliable
- 1:52Speaker 1: publication in the world. But we'll see what happens. Hey,
- 1:57Speaker 1: let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. Let's go
- 2:02Speaker 1: to Bill in Idaho. Bill, how are you doing?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Hey, Mark. How are you today?
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm good. What are you, in a tunnel right now?
- 2:11Speaker 4: No.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Well, sort of. You know, I live in Cordon Lane, Idaho.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we ask that callers get within 50 feet of
- 2:19Speaker 1: the phone. How far away are you from the phone?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Oh, not too far away.
- 2:24Speaker 1: All right, you want to be like that? All right, wait,
- 2:26Speaker 1: hang on. I'm going to go back here. I'll talk
- 2:28Speaker 1: from here. How's that?
- 2:31Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:32Speaker 1: We'll both sound like.
- 2:33Speaker 3: We're far away. I got my closer now.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, how about go right up to the phone?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Okay, I'm up to the phone right now.
- 2:41Speaker 1: See, now we can hear you. Okay.
- 2:45Speaker 3: You know, you said the only problem with living in
- 2:47Speaker 3: Idaho is you're living in Idaho.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah, well, they... But the.
- 2:53Speaker 3: But here's a fascinating fact that you might want to know.
- 2:56Speaker 1: All right.
- 3:00Speaker 3: In this small county, there are more doctors than there
- 3:03Speaker 3: are in Boston or Johns Hopkins or the Mayo Clinic.
- 3:08Speaker 3: And you know why?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Why?
- 3:12Speaker 3: Because all of Canada comes down here and gets their
- 3:15Speaker 3: medical stuff because socialized medicine is.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Well, I understand, but if you're from Canada and you
- 3:22Speaker 1: come here for help, why wouldn't you go to New
- 3:25Speaker 1: York or the Mayo Clinic? Why would you go to Idaho?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Because you've got to pay taxes. You don't have parking space.
- 3:32Speaker 3: There's no taxes here. There are three casinos where the
- 3:38Speaker 3: old lady can go to. Uh-huh. You know, it's all
- 3:43Speaker 3: owned by the Indians, by the way.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Well, it sounds like a hell of a place to live.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Sounds like a lot of fun. Three broken-down casinos and
- 3:51Speaker 1: lots of parking spaces. That's a great selling point.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think Trump and, you know, the Republicans
- 3:58Speaker 3: use this that the failure of the Canadian health system
- 4:02Speaker 3: is driving people down the same path.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Well, they have used it. They've used it millions of times. But, Bill,
- 4:07Speaker 1: we've got to go talk to... Anybody else, thanks for calling.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Take care. Let's go to Joanne in Glendale. Joanne, how
- 4:15Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Good. Love your show, Mark.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I just wanted to make a comment about the woman
- 4:24Speaker 2: who called from Brooklyn.
- 4:25Speaker 1: The one who would only pay cash in the supermarket
- 4:28Speaker 1: and won't use her credit card.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yes, that's me. So I agree with her. It's a
- 4:35Speaker 2: great way to budget. I even pay cash. for my gas,
- 4:38Speaker 2: and I do pump my own gas. So I'm with
- 4:41Speaker 2: her in paying cash.
- 4:42Speaker 1: But you have a credit card, right?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I do. I have two, but I only.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So you all have credit cards. What do you think
- 4:49Speaker 1: it's for? This is what it's for.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Only if I'm buying something big, like furniture or something
- 4:58Speaker 2: big that I don't have a lot of cash. But otherwise, no.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I like to pay cash for everything.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Why?
- 5:04Speaker 4: Why?
- 5:07Speaker 2: I guess it's just that I've always been like that.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And like I said, it helps me budget. I take
- 5:13Speaker 2: a certain amount of money out of the bank and
- 5:15Speaker 2: that's my money for the next two weeks. And that's
- 5:18Speaker 2: what I spend.
- 5:19Speaker 1: All right. That makes a little sense. But use a
- 5:21Speaker 1: credit card once in a while.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And, you know, I met you about 20 years ago.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Must have been exciting, huh?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Well, you know, I was so intimidated. Oh. It was you.
- 5:34Speaker 4: It was.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Mark Levin and Sean Hannity in that bookstore in Huntington.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Remember that bookstore in Huntington? Oh, my God. We did
- 5:44Speaker 1: a book signing out there. It was so unbelievable. 7,000
- 5:48Speaker 1: people showed up and gridlocked the entire town of Huntington.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Well, I was one of them. Oh. Anyway, I miss
- 5:57Speaker 2: that place, and I miss all the book signings.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a great bookstore called Book Review, Huntington,
- 6:03Speaker 1: Long Island. I'm trying to remember. I think it was
- 6:05Speaker 1: Mark Levin's book that had come out, but we all
- 6:10Speaker 1: promoted on the air. It was me, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and Curtis Sliwa was there.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes, Curtis Sliwa with his son. His son was little.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And you will testify— that so many thousands of people
- 6:25Speaker 1: showed up. There were like 3,000 outside that couldn't get in,
- 6:27Speaker 1: and the whole town of Huntington was gridlocked all day.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. Well, I got there hours early.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I made sure I was in. There were people lined
- 6:40Speaker 2: up for blocks. Oh, yeah. No, that was a great day.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I miss those days.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Actually, if you go on my Instagram and scroll back
- 6:48Speaker 1: a few, I think it was a month or two ago,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I put up a picture from that day.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Because you see how everybody looks different 20 years ago. Yeah,
- 6:59Speaker 1: I know. All right. And you live in Huntington?
- 7:03Speaker 2: No, I don't live in Huntington. I live in Glendale, Queens.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Very good. So see, people came from all over.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I did grow up in Huntington, though.
- 7:12Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for calling, Joanne. Take care. Let's go.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Speaking of paying cash, let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 7:19Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 7:20Speaker 4: Mark, I'm calling you. You were chiding that gentleman yesterday
- 7:25Speaker 4: who didn't want to use the credit card in his iPhone.
- 7:29Speaker 4: These two women calling you about only using cash. Mark,
- 7:33Speaker 4: that's all I use. Sometimes I use the credit card
- 7:36Speaker 4: when I have like a big medical co-pay to pay.
- 7:39Speaker 4: In fact... Recently, I had to go to the dentist,
- 7:44Speaker 4: and I fill out all my personal information. So the
- 7:49Speaker 4: receptionist says, oh, you didn't fill out the information about
- 7:53Speaker 4: your credit card. So I says, what for? She says,
- 7:56Speaker 4: so that if you miss an appointment, we could dox
- 7:59Speaker 4: your credit card. I says, look, first off, I'm not
- 8:02Speaker 4: going to miss an appointment. And secondly, unless you're going
- 8:06Speaker 4: to do something really big on me today where I
- 8:09Speaker 4: have to pay for a crown, I'm not going to
- 8:12Speaker 4: use a credit card. I pulled out the broccoli roll.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Broccoli roll means a big wad of cash, and they
- 8:19Speaker 1: take the rubber band from the broccoli, that big rubber band.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Right, the Andy Boy, the pink rubber band. So she says, well,
- 8:26Speaker 4: I don't know if we can serve you. She says,
- 8:28Speaker 4: I've got to go speak to the boss, the dentist.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Did she know who she was dealing with?
- 8:34Speaker 4: Well, Mark, as you well know, Johnny Cash is still king.
- 8:38Speaker 1: All right, but Vincent, some people, there are reasons they
- 8:43Speaker 1: want to use cash. We understand that. Some harmless old lady,
- 8:46Speaker 1: they don't need to use cash.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I know, Mark. Well, she went in to see the dentist,
- 8:53Speaker 4: and the dentist poked his head out, and he said,
- 8:55Speaker 4: no problem, because you know where that cash went? It
- 8:59Speaker 4: didn't go into the cash box. It went right in
- 9:03Speaker 4: his pocket. And a lot of times when I'm in
- 9:06Speaker 4: Europe and I go to a hotel... I never pay
- 9:10Speaker 4: with a credit card. I pay with cash because what
- 9:12Speaker 4: happens then, the concierge steals the money, and then they
- 9:17Speaker 4: make your account disappear. You were never in the.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Hotel because they took the money.
- 9:23Speaker 2: They don't want a record of it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Vincent Travel Guide.
- 9:26Speaker 4: It serves two purposes, Mark.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Good call, Vincent. Excellent. Thanks for calling. Use a credit card.
- 9:34Speaker 1: The only time you need cash when you're bribing the
- 9:36Speaker 1: maitre d' or somebody, that's when you use cash. Anyway,
- 9:39Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to. Don't go away. 710WOR.
