- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: So things can get spooky.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: no pun intended heading into Halloween, right?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like because when you start getting right right Chris, like nobody's nervous at oh and five.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: But you mean like you mean nervous back going like oh and 17?
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: Once I mean that.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh and I have a lot of people are nervous.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of people are nervous about not knowing oh and 17.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've gotten that too.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know man.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't know it's, it's an awful honor.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like everybody knows who's gone on 17, you know?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, nobody has, right?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's the, well, it's the Browns and it's the lions.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's well.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, but they've gone over in 16.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't go on 17.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Jesus.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: So we could, so we'll only, we would be sad, we would be sad in history.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm, I'm no interest whatsoever in that.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: Neither going.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, okay, so so all hands on deck for the jets next week.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: All right, but no show this Thursday No show this Thursday, but we're giving you a show today and today's show is gonna be chock full of bitching trust me when I tell you a lot of a lot of bitching
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're going to complain about a lot of things.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're back with us and they're back with us for the duration.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's actually pretty funny, you know, because when I sign these contracts, it says, oh, until they're eliminated from the playoffs, I got to giggle out of that one.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: when they sent me this ad.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: But top to cigar.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Top to cigar will be with us until the dolphins are eliminated from the playoffs.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I said that.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a pro-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co-co
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I've made a dime off of them because it just get all the money that they pay us and I just sent it right back for cigars I buy all my cigars from them and I do use my promo code, so I am pretty smart about that All right, so I get my 20% off So I don't think I made a dime from them, but we thank them.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: There will be with us Until the dolphins get eliminated from the playoffs Oh, yeah, all right
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about Justin Herbert.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't be a pleasant conversation.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's start with just a Herbert, let's do 30 seconds on Justin Herbert, my God, man.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like somebody has a stat out there.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: His pastor rating is below that of a quarterback.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: If they just spiked it into the ground all season in the fourth quarter.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: And not for not the man.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: We have this discord.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: You guys know it.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: We advertise it.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: I've never seen one of our podcast discord.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: GG for slash only friends right there in the money.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: Click the link in the description, sign up on a desktop.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: We have a knack for like, you know, bringing on and pending doom in our channel.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: And if you go back, did you see what I said yesterday about Justin Herbert?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I said, I'm ready to give him a complete pass because he has cold strange and four rookies.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: His Y receiver to his Theo Wies and his Titan is Hayden Ruchi.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: He then proceeded to fumble and throw a pick.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: with the leans.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's dolphins bad right there.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's previous era of dolphins bad.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not even this era of dolphins bad.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's like previous era of dolphins bad.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Although this one is pretty bad.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's we've seen.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: So Mike McDaniel has taken his curses over there to to the chargers.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: What do you make of that dumpster fire?
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's two things going on.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: One we've already talked about this.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to beat the dead horse is nobody question whether nobody question then they should have whether the Mike McDaniel and Justin Herbert were really compatible.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I think everybody was just like.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, going with this running with this narrative that tool was so limiting on Mike McDaniel, he's going to get to the chargers and he's going to have Justin Herbert.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and now I love that.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: What was it was a my an Ian rap report, you know, tweet, what are you talking about the parts of the playbook that Mike McDaniel has never been able to call that he's now, you know, let's stuff.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, yeah, okay.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: And, and I think that we're just seeing a lot of.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Dolphins fans have to be able to take some levels at its faction here and seeing these complaints about the Mike McDaniel offense and being like, yeah, I remember that.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I remember that.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I remember that too, you know, and and it's, you know, it's total shopping for it, but it's still, you know, it's validating relative to what many of us had been complaining about.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: in that offense for a couple of years.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm one that likes to let the evidence stack up quite a bit before I'm going to talk about the coaching stuff.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like you will we'll talk about Bobby Slok and second, but you know, five games in, I'm not going to sell out on a Bobby Slok because
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: a system coaching is just so hard to really extrapolate exactly what's going on.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like players.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: Players, you can always go back to the tape.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, people will say, well, yeah, but you don't know what their responsibilities were on the players.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, you kind of do, though.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: And like, you know, if you've watched it off tape, if you've been around football for 20 plus years, if you, you know, if you dissect it, analyze it every six, every way to Sunday, then you kind of do, you know.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: what the players' responsibilities were and what looks out of whack for a player, you never know with an assistant coach.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: You never know with an assistant coach because, and this is why, you know, in personnel, teams will sign a player from this team or that team or, you know, they'll draft a player from that college or that college, anywhere, right?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: They'll take players from
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: But who do they hire for assisting coaches?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: They look through the role of the exo if I coached with before.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Or who does my best friend over here really, really vouch for?
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what that is?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's an acknowledgment of the asymmetric information.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: with respect to assistant coaches.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: How you can't just go to the tape and figure it out.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like you can with players, you cannot with assistant coaches.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not going to sell out of assistant coaches very quickly, but with Mike McDaniel, the evidence just popped up and piled up over and over and over for years.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: And by the end, we're like, listen, this is this is shenanigans, and you're going to find out.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: right and and he goes over there and now people are finding out.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: But Justin Herbert, the second thing that's going on with him and this is the thing that people criticized them a little bit for the reason Brian Flores didn't want him coming out of the draft and that is a fact.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Is because I think there's a mental issue there where I think things cascade for him
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think he does actually see performance psychologists and stuff like that, which, which most of these guys should probably, but um, but I think that it really is a psyche thing and I think it's like, you know, it's just this repetitive, it's just the repetitive thing that happens like this doom loop, you know, kind of, um, in certain situations where, you know, we've been here before an
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what that's what's happening to them now things were bad getting a little off track and they're getting worse and that's and that's that's usually kind of a psyche thing.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what I don't understand and we're going to get off of him right here is how Mike McDaniel just shows up and he gets to bring in all his buddies like you look at the offense.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's Alec Engold.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's Hayden Rucci.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's the oeice like he coal strange they gave coal strange money.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, in this economy and this economy and he was and he was the only starter really yesterday They had four rookies playing along with coal strange.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't understand.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand it Some guys just have favorite nations status be nice to the media kids.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, be nice to the media make friends Because it could it could go a long way it could get you high paying off into coordinator gigs in Los Angeles You know
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: I actually kind of wonder if like things are going a little bit downhill for remember how things just went downhill for Adam Gace personally, you know, like and and so, but he's making a return to football now.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, his experience, Mike McDonnell's experience in Miami had to have to have to some degree traumatize them.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, and it looks like it's going super well and it looks like it's, you know, and then it just all week by week year by year just starts evaporating like smoke and you can't you can't control it you can't stop it, you know, and that's what he went through.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I'll tell you it's it's you know people say that presidents age horribly and it's true Like you watch all the presidents when they start and when they leave office they look like walking death Right pretty much all of them.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: They all look they all look horrible leaving office Man, I remember sitting down with Adam Gaze thinking man this guy's having a blast of course those when he had just been hired This guy's having a blast being a coach
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was, I don't know, he wasn't having a blast.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that guy just deteriorated year by year as the losses piled up and as the pressure came on to the point where I think he just tapped out to be honest with you.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like he tried to figure out a way, yeah, you know, like he said, I want to be part of this.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't be part of a no, no, no, no, that's actually the official story from Steve Ross is
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Things we've gotten we've gotten top heavy in the salary structure.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to do this thing.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to, I mean, I don't even know if they were talking about like full tank or whatever, but it was clear that Adam Gase wanted no part of it.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, about where he stood as a head coach.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: He got a job right away, failed.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, like is, but yeah.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I think in this case with Mike Reganial, it was like, yeah, he's talked about for some of these head coaching jobs, but really he was just a coveted offensive coordinator.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's not going to be a cover to draw cuts accordingly.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: No, he's not.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: All right, enough of the unfortunate incidents that have befallen our former head coach.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the unfortunate incidents that are befallen our current approach.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: I cut it coach.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: Look, I made the joke yesterday.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: It was hilarious.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like the on the locally we have the thing called the fifth quarter and it's a wrap to the game to do like a post got a local post game show and I watch it because, you know, they have Kimball camper on there and they give you a little insight, but I always watch it because they have the
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: the post game coaches press conference life right and you know I don't like I don't really care too much although I watch everything and one of them because I'm doing my job for you our dear listener
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't really care about the Monday press conference because that's calculated the guys had almost 24 hours to think about what he's going to say.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: I like to watch these guys when they step off the field when, you know, the latest indignity has occurred, right?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's a little bit more raw, you know, and I thought halfway handled it very well yesterday, but he was kind of a matter of matter of fact.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: We can't win when we do this.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: We can't win when we do that.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Look, not that he was pointing fingers or anything, but I made the joke because they were announced, oh, Jeff Haffer is coming to the podium and then some reporter went up there and I just posted on Discord.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Man, Haffer looks like shit.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: But Haffer was, you know, he did mention the three turnovers and we're going to start here and we're going to start with, uh, I won't trust me, but we will get to Milliequels.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we might do an entire second half of the show on Malik Wallace because there's just so much, hey, Juju Brantz was pretty good in this game and Chris Johnson was great talk that we can do, okay?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we already know we like a lot of these young players on this team.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: Rodney McGrow was, uh, with John in the game against.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a simple standard man ever simple standard.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I look at the defense.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like were they good enough to win with above average offense today.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: I know not to be delusional about this because I thought Joe Burrow was really really good yesterday.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I thought they had a chance to win yesterday if they get a chance to win defensive defensively I will say this though you let up 31 points at home.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's not necessarily a great day at the office.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that the special team spotted them, you know, inside the tight right area right away on the opening kick off.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about that.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm, but I will say just because they did that just because you got that big special teams return doesn't mean you have to let up the touchdown.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: right like you can you can let up the three points.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: You can let up the field goal there.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I thought the defense definitely went through it a bit.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like they certainly went through it more than they did against the Vikings, you know, with with that offense.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and, and you know, yeah, this is a talented offense.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, T. Higgins and Jamar Chase actually playing.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Jamar Chase making that ridiculous play in the end zone.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Burrow, you know, very kind of calmly going underneath, underneath the split, the split safety coverage that we kept playing over and over again, and I think Jeff halfway noted specifically that we're trying to take away the big place.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like that big play to Jamar Chase, you're saying that that actually shouldn't have happened.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: There should have been two guys there.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, so it shouldn't have been just up to Jason Marshall Jr. to make that play.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so they were trying to limit those big plays and Joe Burrow took the underneath.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: You took the tight ends.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: You took the, uh, you know, the the backs and, um, and scored and 31 points.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know, 31 points, especially at home.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know on what scale that's good enough on defense.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, but, but at the same time,
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: they still show their talent, they still showed their cohesiveness, they still showed, they're starting to look like a well-coached defense, you know, like, which the offense is not.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so it's definitely on defense.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: I want to give them the crudos, but at the same time, let's be fair about the criticism and say, yeah, 31 at home is not good.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a weird game.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: Defense led up 307 yards.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: Higgins and Chase combined for 99 yards on 14 targets.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Man, that's a successful outing in my head.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: You a dick, you a dick.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: You run for 217 yards.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, if I tell you just that before, you know, if I tell you this on our preview show on Thursday, the offerings are going to allow 307 yards.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Higgins and Chase are going to combine for 99.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: and you're going to run for 217 yards.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: You're probably thinking, shit, we won.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right, but I mean, like, but I mean, think about it this way, think about it also.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: This way is that the bangles had, they had touchdown drives of like, you know, 58 yards, 53 yards and 77 yards, three touchdown drives that are all, there's a long drives, right, like those, and, you know,
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: And there's also the touchdown.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, yes, at the touchdown at the beginning of the game, they got it at the 10 yard line.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't mean you have to actually give up the touchdown.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, feel goal, a field goal was handed to them by a turnover for sure, but still like, you know, you always say three touchdowns is a good offensive performance, right?
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: They executed three long touchdown drives against us.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: So if they had a good offense of performance by definition, your defense did not have a good defense of performance, right?
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's just kind of mutually exclusive.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: And so again, not good enough on defense.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Certainly not good enough offense.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about that, but you know, not good enough on defense.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, moving off of the defense and I think we've spent the balance of the show on the offensive coaching, the quarterback, et cetera, let's start with coaching and it's on the film, okay.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_02]: They run this double out concept, which I kind of like it's a layered out.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's, you know, you got to quick out and then you got to intermediate out.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's essentially, and I had somebody saying, why would you ever have two guys running the same route?
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, well, it's really common in the NFL.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, it's level.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's it's it's called the level out or it's called the double out.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_02]: And it's really common in the NFL.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: What is not common is to have those guys run it three yards apart.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, very common to have them run it eight yards apart.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's for whatever reason football's at very is very quirky with how we coach and teach things.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's always eight or 12 yards apart.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: Don't imagine imagine spacing being important though.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: So don't ask me why it's not 10 yards apart.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's 8 and 12.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Don't change it.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we're very strict on these things.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: but you have that which happened twice in the game.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Kevin Coleman and Chris Bell inexplicably, and I think it was Kevin Coleman who was drifting up for you.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think, I think Bell was running his route at 18, which means that Kevin Coleman has to be running his at 10, at least, maybe eight, to give it a little bit more space.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: So he's bumping basically into Chris Bell.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: That happened once.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now, that happens once, okay, it's just, it's a rookie mistake by Kevin Coleman, it happened several times in this game.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have the condensed formations and I tried to explain it.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: You have guys, all loving guys inside the numbers.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: If we have all 11 guys inside the numbers and I thought about hugging the hash, we know the hash is our six yards apart, right?
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: And you got two guys on about two yards off of each hash that means you have 11 people, 11 human being standing in a 10 yard area, we were seeing 10 yards, it's 30 feet, it's probably the size of your liver room, imagine putting 11 dudes in there and five of them are over 320 pounds, okay?
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how the hell are you standing all those people in there and getting any type of coherent offense?
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot of weird things.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: So it is, it is really popular though to run those condensed formations.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: I, I just question whether it is the right choice to lean so heavily on them in an offense where you've, where you're attempting to transition from a two a tongue of a
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: Malik Willis has the arm to challenge those sidelines.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you line up your wider servers with wider splits along those sidelines, you might pick up more of those easy, you talk about the levels, the levels concept and, you know, those double out and stuff like that, there were there were successful plays that way, right, some of some of the easy plays, they took, I think Jeff, I fully noted the the end of the end of the half drive and then some of the drives toward the end of the game.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: When they had some sort of some on-time stuff that was popping open first read, you know, kind of like get the ball out.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was some of that stuff along the sidelines.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: And, and that's, I think that that's underutilized territory for a guy with the armstrike of Malik Willis.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, that's a nitpick of mine.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I understand where people have some criticisms.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's, you know, I'm just, you know, I'm anticipating.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not ready to throw Bobby Slough like, you know, out on the street after five games, you know, I want to wait.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: I want to wait.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see the body of work that he puts up for, you know, before, you know, I make a decision like that, you know, but I just don't like, I just don't like what he's, how he's trying to exploit his players talents, you know, it's it's common knowledge that any offensive coordinator in the NFL can scheme a completion to a specific player.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: You could see it on the tape.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Bell was primary, maybe three times in this game.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: And he was targeted once.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: She had a guy in the past in fairness on the play, by the way.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: So they have him on a, boy, you know mine.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Technically technically he got targeted.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: He got targeted also on a scrambled drill.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: So we're talking about a guy who's basically on a penal mindless whatsoever.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: And then yeah, they had him the football and he runs for 26 yards.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: Look, I would be this guy because remember last year, everybody was like, Oh, my God, another, another wide receiver screen.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: We ran we ran one escort screen in this game.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: One.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: And we ran one middle screen with
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: And we're not running a lot of RPOs either, which, you know, is another baffling thing, it seemed like a low hanging fruit thing.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: They did it a couple of games to go a couple of times.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just, I'm just a little bit surprised that that that they're not pursuing that more and more consistently during these games.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Again, piling up some of the things to complain about with an offensive coordinator, which is everybody's favorite past time is to complain about the offensive coordinator, but you know to be to be fair here.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there are some choices that you're like, you know, are you sure about that?
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: And and I think that that's one of them.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go to break.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: And when we come back, we're going to talk a lot about Malik Wallace.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: The first these words.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: And we're back.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: Malik Wallace.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: The mob is out.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: Chris.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: What can you say, but what can you say about Malik Wallace that hasn't already been said about Afghanistan.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's bombed up and depleted.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's, yeah, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's, it's always a bad sign when you quarterback takes the Instagram and pull and starts posting scripture.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but he does it every game.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: So he does, I thought it was a follow up to this game.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's done.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's done it every single game so far.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I stand corrected then.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I thought that this was a no, I was about to keep every now and I would you know, I got pretty nervous after the game.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like I didn't feel all that great after the game.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: I felt good for some of the new players.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't feel too good about about the game afterwards, but then I heard that he posted scripture and I'm like, Oh, no, I don't know.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess he doesn't after every single game.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't do whatever.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think what makes this game so discouraging was Malik will sit play poorly.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, you know, what the stretch was that was rough.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: Look, he's either late or just.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to explain.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: Because people are saying, oh, he's processing slowly.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's processing.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's seeing things.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's processing slowly.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's passing up the easy for the more difficult.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a reason why there's a reason why intermediate passes are completed at a much slower clip than shorter passes.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's hunting big plays consistently.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: And it's making for pretty poor quarterback play.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think the classic Bobby slow it, you know, and he was criticized a little bit for this and not a little bit and in Houston when he got fired for this season that CJ Strahd kind of took a real big step back.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and he took like, you know, 70s acts or something like that, like that CJ Stroud did.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, is I think that Bobby Sloan, the more them watching Bobby Sloan in the way that he structures his offense and it's the same system, but I think that you're seeing, uh, he's reading, the quarterback is reading everything back to front, you know.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: And, and so when he's going through his progressions, that first progression might actually be something that takes quite a bit of time to develop, because it's back to front, right?
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so, and so I think that you're seeing, you know, a little bit of, um, the, the Bobby Slug, offense in the way that it's structured,
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe exacerbates something because Malik Willis was never going to be a guy that gets the job where it gets a ball off like 2.1 seconds, right?
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: To a ton of dialogue gets the ball off 2.1 seconds.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle McCord, we talked about like even coming in in the dolphins.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: One of the unique things about him in college is he gets the ball off in like 2.2 seconds.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like it is it is lightning fast.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Caleb Williams, it's not like that.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: The name, name any one of these guys who are more of a playmaker at quarterback, they take far longer to get rid of the ball than those guys like Joe Burrow or like Tom Brady used to be Tom Brady used to be lightning fast and how quickly he gets the ball off.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a different thing.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're marrying that kind of player with an offense that, you know, maybe accentuates that, then maybe it goes too far sometimes.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I think really, you know, Malik Willis in this game, he had some bad decisions and bad and bad ideas bad choices in the game and particular.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was like around the kind of the middle of the game when it just was like,
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: you know, what are you doing?
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are you, everything starts to look almost like yellow ball, you know?
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it's interesting to watch that happen because I think that the evaluation of Blake, well, I'm going to make this easy.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: John Hercsolvon tried to make it easy on everybody already, right?
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: John Hercsolvon already said, milk will us evaluation.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to give them two free agencies, two drafts.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: uh... to training camps and and years worth of coaching and uh... and this is all stuff that generates all that said by the way um... and and that's the evaluation of the week was because they functionally gave him a guarantee to your contract right so so they're they're like hey this is our guy were you know we're we're going to give him that why would you give him that much time while i'll put it a different way
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: When you can going back to the first segment, when you can look at the tape, the alt 22, and look at the dolphins, wider severs, the offensive linemen, the running backs, the tight ends.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: When you look across into the salt 22, and you're grading it, and you've done this for a couple of two, three games now, two, three games, and you're like, you know, this is just looking like a pretty well-coached offense, you know?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: note the time, the evaluation of the leak will as says begun.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's what that's when the evaluation of the leak will as will have begun.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not concluded begun because what did you buy out of green bay?
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: You bought a guy who succeeded in a certain set of circumstances, right, in green bay.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: and then you transplanted him in Miami and currently has the diametric opposite of those circumstances.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: And the circumstances that I'm talking about is just a matter of how well coach the offenses.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a matter of like, oh, he doesn't this is not just the Herbert where everything has to be perfect, right?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: This is
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking, you know, the Green Day offense by no means was perfect.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're not star-studded.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have Randy Moss and Chris Carter at wide receiver.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have Tony Bicelli and Leon Cersei at your tackle positions or Derek Henry or Tony Gonzalez or, you know, it's not an all-world cast.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, one of their best receivers, I think they sold to the Eagles for like a fifth
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: all the time, particularly because of our knits with Mike McDaniel, and the organization issues that would happen with Mike McDaniel.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: As you'd look at the damn all 22 of the green bay offense, you're like, oh man, these guys are well coached.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what it was.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: They're seeing the same things.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: They're making the same adjustments with one another.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: They know how to operate a scrambled drill.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: They, you know, they know how to run the green grass and stay stay cohesive when the quarterback is scrambling, they execute there aren't a bunch of missed assignments.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: There aren't a bunch of routes where guys are like running into each other.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there are a bunch of plays where guys are like having trouble getting lined up and then getting calls, you know, called back and stuff like it.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's just they're well coached offense.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Malik will us perform to a certain way within that well-coached again.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a superstar offense.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's a well-coached offense.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: When he only had to worry about his own 1111th, this is how he performed.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: Take him down to Miami.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: 30% of the snaps are going to rookies.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: You got guys running routes into which other you got guys can't get lined up.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: You got a toe
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: Take no no better example than the second interception, the second interception of yesterday.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: And people are going to allow that's a terrible one.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: Malik will issue never thrown in stuff like that.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: What happened on the play is that Malik willus is scrambling this way.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Coleman is scrambling or is on a scramble drill going with them this way.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Malik Washington is over here and what does he do?
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: two players coming right in on each other.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: Malik Washington drew the defender straight to where Malik Willis wanted to go with the ball on the scramble drill.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's a violation of scramble principles.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: There's actual, believe it or not, there's actual coaching on this, right?
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, that's no, oh, it's simple.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're the, you're the one on that side of the field, and you have a guy coming into your zone.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: You clear out either go deep or you whiten out.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: Or or maybe or yeah right you go deep you widen out you you or depending on where you are you come back to the quarterback I mean I think that I think that there are actual scramble principles going on here.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: And Malik Washington on that play violated those principles and kind of went in right as Kevin Coleman is coming across and Malik will is what's Kevin Coleman so he threw to Kevin Coleman and Malik Washington brought his defender Jordan battles straight to the ball right that that's that's what happened now that's listen this ain't church don't look for absolute should hear these are details okay I'm not absolving Malik will us on that play you shouldn't throw on the ball we acknowledge them.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what actually happened and that's emblematic of the difference between what he had in green bay and what he had in Miami in green bay he threw that ball he didn't have to worry about Malik Washington violating the scramble principles
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: to do is want 11th while keeping an eye on whether everybody else is to you know and and that's different that's a different we're asking the link will still grow up a little bit and I think that that's a fair ask.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, we know that that's not going to happen immediately and also it's the classic free agency blunder it's the thing everybody has ever done when they sign a big free agent for the last 40 years is you take a guy performed one way and one set of circumstances give a lot of complete opposite set of circumstances and then be like why isn't he performing the same way.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, so it doesn't work that way.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: What you have to do is get the offense to actually perform as a cohesive unit, a well coached unit.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then that's when the evaluation begins.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to leave with us because that's when you're going to know whether you bought 11 right if he can't reproduce.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: You've actually got that going if he can't reproduce what he did before you bought 11.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: you know, which happens in free agency all the time, too, right?
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: So some, we're not, I certainly wouldn't want to say Malik Willis is for sure the guy, because I don't believe that, and I never have.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: I like him a lot, but I think that, and I'm the one that was arguing all off season that if the dolphins do get the number one pick, they are using it on the quarterback.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now my faith, my faith has been shaken in that, but only because
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think I'm not married to Malik Will is by any means, but I think that the evaluation hasn't begun yet until you actually get the offense performing cohesively.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and not only that, it's like there's, there's extremes, right?
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like you got to understand, you had an offseason program, you had a rookie camp.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: The rookie camp, I've, I've seen what rookie camp is like.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: Rookie camp is just essentially showing you where the cafeteria is.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: Here's your playbook.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Come do the, to the meeting room.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go over the playbook.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to explain to you the terminology, hello, goodbye, and joy the next month in the Bahamas.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: And it's four days.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: Then you get these guys to show up a month later for training camp and you get 18 practices of which what is it?
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: 12 can be padded?
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: So that's not much and I was there every single day.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: These practices are two hours.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: they do install.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: Most of the practice is not even going 11 on 11.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's essentially, hey, this is what we're doing in this situation.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is our stunt.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: Then it's Austin Clarke with all the defensive linemen and the linebackers.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's install at least 10 stunts today.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do this today.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_02]: And we're doing this today.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's 18 practices.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: You have the precessing games.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_02]: That's why you have the extreme, the other extreme, which is the 49ers.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers had Mike Evans, Deep ol' Samuel, and Brandon cooks running around out there.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about Kyle Shannon and saying, I'm not putting up with this bullshit.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: The song's dribbling is on IR, and I'm pretty sure that Mike Shannon and saying, you know what?
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: Not a bad thing.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like playing with these all guys, you know what?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: Because these all guys know exactly what they're doing.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: They're exactly right.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where the, you know, people sometimes dig at the Shanahan, you know, coaching and San Francisco and we talk about like the the power station jokes and stuff like that.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like why are they getting injured all the time?
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think one thing you have to understand is that the Shanahan guys typically prefer pretty well experienced veterans on their
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: And what happens to a lot of well-experienced veterans?
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the, the, the, the get, they get banged up, they get hurt.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so, you know, it's, it's definitely, it's, it's an offense that prizes so heavily.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: everybody on the field seeing the same thing the same way at the same time, because there's not a lot of, there's not a lot of modularity, you know, in in the way that they, in the way that they call things within the offense, you can't
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, change little aspects of the play or, you know, start walking up to the line of skirmish and often you can't even like, well, I'm going to work this side of the field because I've got the numbers here, stuff like that.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of the plays you can't, you don't even do that.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's very set.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: And, and it really relies on everybody,
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: from the moment you're lining up all the way through the execution of the play seeing exactly the same thing as everyone else and interpreting it the same way as everyone else.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that takes a lot of better and experience and a lot of know-how and certainly you're not getting that with 30% rookie snacks.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and these rookies are just going to make mistakes.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, there's no fixing it.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: They're good.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing, there's no shame in it.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, they're talented.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think this offense is actually quite talented.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, if you look at it, especially when they get Caleb Douglas back, if you start, if you're just, if you're just tallying the actual talents on the field, and you look at guys like Kaden Proctor like Patrick Paul, like, uh, now all the Gordon before Devon HN, and then, uh, and then Chris Bell and Caleb Douglas, what would you say about them, except, and Malik Willis, frankly, what would you say about them other than, then, wow, these guys are talented and have some really big play potential.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: They have some really big, big, productive potential.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but that isn't that isn't mean like you can't just because you can isolate one play of a guy doing a good doing having a good play doesn't mean you can extrapolate from that and say whoa, the Luke doesn't have any weapons or something like that.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, when he's got his guys running into each other.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you, look, and that's why on the, on the three arts precarious Twitter account, I post without comment, I put every single pass now.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to watch him great, if you just want to comment under it, he was asked, you could do that too.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I provided every single pasta temp so you could look for yourself and pay attention to what's actually going on.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now what's a good.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, it was terrible.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Malik will us that there are ways were horrible because he was unsafe with the football.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: You can't be unsafe with the football.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you got to take care of the football, especially when you're in traffic to hands.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same thing that happened with Herbert, okay.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: Herbert, Herbert, Herbert fumbled when he had the ball out here.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he was parallel to the ground falling face first and had the ball out here.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: Why is the ball out here in his right hand?
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, it just bumped into an offensive lineman.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: It fell on the floor.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: Denver got it.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: Denver ran three plays three and out.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: They kicked the field going to get closer.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think that was when they took the lead and then the pick ended up being the deciding play.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, you got to be careful with the football.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: You got to take care of it.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's something that
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: John, John a result and also said that in the preseason when he was asked, oh, you know, how can you evaluate the question was essentially asked, how can you evaluate Malik will as well as crash around him.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: That was essentially what the question here was trying to get to right five and five games and it five games in the year though, it's a valid question.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's players, again, go back to the alt-22.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: You watch that tape.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: You watch that alt-22 and you say, that's a well-coached offense?
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think it's a joke.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's a, it's a conch, I'm really.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not, and I'm not even criticizing the coach when I coach is when I say that that's not a well-coast offense.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure they're doing their best.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: They're also working with 30% snaps to rookies, which is fairly unprecedented in NFL history.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I believe that is literally unprecedented in NFL history.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's not a knock on those coaches.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying you don't watch that tape and say, man, that's a well-coach you.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: And and again, it doesn't have to be perfect.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's not this isn't just in her brain.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't you don't have to have Randy Moss and Chris Carter, we had some well-coached offenses under Tony Sprano and Joe Filman, like really well-coached offenses under under them.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't very talented.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't going to win a lot, but they were well-coached.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and, and so I think that, you know, that's the difference, that's what you need.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: You don't necessarily need all this all-world stuff or all stars.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: You just need it to be where, you know, and that's the limitation of Malikwil is himself.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: Or at least the smart and his career, it's a limitation of Malikwil's.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: He can't, he can't handle his own one eleven plus everybody else's.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's not at that point in his career yet.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you ever will be, maybe he never will be.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: And for some people, that might be unforgivable and you say, okay, you just move up.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: But right now, he certainly, he can't handle everybody else's one 11th as well as he's so.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, and the concern I would say is when guys start making the same mistakes twice, and that's happening a lot to these wide receivers, but it's also happening to Malik Wallace.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's sack.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's done a twice.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: He did it again.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's done a couple times.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: And now he did it again yesterday, those are consequential plays and those are consequential plays.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: It were a playoff team.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: Never mind that we're a terrible team headed for whatever record we're headed for, but you know
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you watch the elf one, if you watch it again, let go of Jalen Tolbert is doing in the end zone on that play.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see, run into open grass.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: See, is he abiding scrambled rule?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, what he does actually is he tried to do the same things, Malik Washington.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: He tries to cut the other way to the inside and we know while Malik is going, well, this is going out here.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: He tries to, he initially goes this way, realize he fucked up.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: stopped.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, shit, I'm supposed to go in that way.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then start going that way.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: And when he does, by the time he does, he's completely plastered at that point.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like the, the, you know, the coverage is on him because he's not really.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: And Malik will is a staring at him.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I want you.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want you, man.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you going that way?
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you going that way?
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that I think I think that
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a sort of the thought process because Malik, what will this is definitely a guy who gets stuck.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: He gets stuck and we've seen it.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: He gets stuck on a guy that he wants not an attractive trait in a quarterback, but but it is, but it's it's livable.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's not fatal.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's something that a lot of guys out there, a lot of quarterbacks out there that happens to he can get stuck.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he, you know, when you get a situation like that, he wants Jalen Tolbert, you know, to come out and execute the scramble drill with him and Jalen Tolbert's like, this way, no, no, wait, this way, you know, like he can't figure it out.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: And Mollink Washington has been an exactly that position a couple of times.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: uh, on plays that would have been big.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: And uh, and I think that's what happened on that play.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not excusing it.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's no excuse for, you know, taking that sack.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Heat and Malico said it was a bad play on his part.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I, I agree it was, but I, I think that when you, you know, at the end of the day, when you just tally up the sheer number of points that have been left on that field through five games,
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: with a toenail, fingernail, stepping out of bounds, can't get lined up, running the wrong route, can't look up for the ball, Jeff Hathley talked about the deep one to Malik Washington right at the beginning of the game.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, right in the end zone, where Malik Washington seemed to stop running, or there was some kind of confusion.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was, Hathley was, was very open about he essentially ran the route
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: He was supposed to, he was supposed to run it inside the numbers and then bend inside and he didn't.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: And so when Malik Willis is like looking up to, you know, where to throw it, Malik Willis is reacting to the way Malik Washington is running the route, which is wrong.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so he's throwing it, he's throwing it up into the outside.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: can't find the ball in the air and is not it stops running and you know, he's just not a deep player, but yeah, like you get these these wrong routes and stuff like that, the dolphins have left more points on the board and five games than they've scored.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I totally believe that.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: I truly believe that.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: I truly believe that.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and there's a reason why you have those red lines and and and preseason and and in the in training camp.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: They're there for a reason and Malik Washington on that opening play.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's releasing inside of the red line.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're releasing inside of the red line, you're cutting down.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: the, I guess, well, you could call the margin of error for your quarterback.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_02]: So you quarterback, you're having to make your quarterback be even more perfect now, because he's going to have to drop it right on the pilot, essentially, for you to have any chance.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: And but also he was with two of right.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: He was with two for two years.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of reprogramming that Malik Washington has to do right now because what did to it never almost never do?
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: Scramble.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: What and what did to and what did to do when he was when he was throwing the ball deep.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: He releases it early and he throws out a fucking hot air balloon.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and it's not going to go very far, but it's early and it's and it's up there.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: And so with your Malik Washington, you look up early.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: You look up early for the ball because it's it's it's on you quickly.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you're playing with Malik Willis who has the 60 R R,
- 49:51[SPEAKER_01]: He wants you to run under the friggin thing, right?
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't, you know, want you to do in this for three seconds and 30 yards.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's, you're not going to run the route.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to be able to run under the past that way.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: And that's that's part of the disconnect right here.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, it's, it's evident.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I think part of the problem is having Malik Washington more than 30 yards down the field to begin with.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, that's,
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: You mentioned before that like no targets to Chris Bell, so what does that mean?
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: Everything is going to a five foot 10 inch Kevin Coleman or a five foot nine inch Malik, Washington.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: No wonder it looks bad.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's, I mean, again, that's not excusing Malik.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, as you had a terrible game.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, you can't really he can't afford very many more of those.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Simon did have an up point.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_01]: And our discord chat that like, you know, if it keeps looking like this for the rest of the year, then, you know, maybe decision time, but luckily this is, I think in my opinion, the first time it really looked like this all it firmly close this year and hopefully just doesn't repeat it.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_02]: So let's spend the last five minutes of this podcast.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_02]: How do we fix this?
- 51:07[SPEAKER_02]: They got a, they got a by week.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think you begin with this is not a week to recharge.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_02]: There really isn't like, look, you had 18 practice.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, they know 12 padded, this is not a week to go to to the Bahamas and go fishing and eat some and they're not halfly said that today.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you watched it.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: Halfly, halfly said we're going to do practice this week.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, nice.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the first.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_01]: So he said because he was answering a question about Traymore and Kyle Lewis.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, you know, I think he was asked will Traymore and Kyle Lewis be practicing next week.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because I think that everybody thinks we're not practicing this week, we're only practicing next week.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: And Jeff Hathley responded by saying, let's take that week at a time.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna practice this week.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: They're not practicing this week.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll see next week.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: They might.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so practice this week.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: They're practicing.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: And they're too young to be taken veteran days off and should like that, right?
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: The youngest team and that I felt is terrific right out loud.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they got a Malik Wallace has to get with his skill players as many as it will will be with him even on off hours and just work, you know, just work on the installs work on just if you have to rehash previous game plans get the previous get the game plan from Minnesota and just run it in practice and run it again and again and again and maybe it'll become second nature, but they got to begin with in my opinion and I'm going to ask you this the same question three things you can do.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_02]: uh... number one get right back to your identity uh... i'm not going to call it luck because he was drafted and they expected him to be rb two at least this regime did because that's the way they played them from day one hn was rb one and all the court dead let's face it general right was was essentially ignored in training camp ok all the court was the man behind uh... hn who was kind of like on rest
- 53:16[SPEAKER_02]: not to look to say you looked in no you know it's a good valuation you like the guy he's played well you know he's played well you know if you're if you're watching fantasy football out there he's the number one way for wire pickup for the last two weeks I think he's RB5 the most the fifth most productive running back in the NFL the last two weeks so he's been good okay
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: lean into that.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's number one for me.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: Lean into that identity.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_02]: We're running between the tackles.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_02]: Even Kingston, guys who stepped in for Jonah, he didn't look too bad.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_02]: He looked capable, especially in the run game.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_02]: And the past game, these guys off the bench, I'm sorry.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's just not going to happen.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: Guys off the bench in past parole, they're going to have their issues.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_02]: But in the run game, we look pretty damn good in the run game when he came in.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: important.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: And this is, I think, the most important thing.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: You got to change some of your concepts and get back to more quick game stuff.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_02]: Because you can isolate the quick game stuff that the Malik Wallace has run and it looks competent.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: And that would just look competent.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: The offense looks like it can move.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_02]: And they've actually moved the ball.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: And you want to look for instances right before the half against Cincinnati, uh, two drives against the 49ers right before the half as well, where they move themselves into position for field goals.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, uh, like level, they're not going to fix the resume.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_02]: They're a bad red zone offense.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be a bad red zone offense for the rest of the year, I believe.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: So don't don't go too excited.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we're five games in.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: So that's number two.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: Lean into that quick game stuff.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_02]: Number three, recognize your personal number one.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_02]: You got to get killed Douglas back, okay?
- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because it's going to give you another body.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody else who can run fast, at least in a straight line, that's going to help you.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: But you're going to have to design stuff.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: And this is on Bobby's flow.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_02]: Design stuff for these guys.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_02]: You ran a middle screen with Greg Galsich.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: Meaning you had a pass plate designed just for Greg Galsich.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: in this game.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_02]: You can do the same for a crisp ball, meaning set up a screen for crisp ball, tunnel screen for crisp ball.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_02]: Some smoke routes for crisp ball.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: Easy completeness, just keep it moving, keep things moving.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_02]: And those are my three things that you can do coming out of the buy and it should make things better if they don't.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_02]: then the evaluation continues, but I'm still with you, it's not about oh shit 10 10 games we're fucked.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, it's 17.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_02]: I want to look at the whole body of work for 17 games.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: Malik will just terrible after 17 games.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you're going to be picking in that zone recorder back.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you probably if one if there's one available.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're not again.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I've already says that your guy is not the type of guy that'll reach for a quarterback.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: But his history in Green Bay think about his history in Green Bay.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_01]: They let Aaron Rogers fall to them in the 20s.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: They let Jordan love fall to them in the 20s.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: They, you know, they don't, they let quarterbacks come to them.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: They try to with Miami.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_02]: They try to with Miami for Jordan love.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so, so I mean, this is this is a team.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: come to them.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to reach for the reach.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_01]: They're going for good value at the quarterback position, you know, when when they feel like they have it, they're not going to, they're not going to, you know, if we're having a hard time putting any of these quarterbacks in the top five, and ain't going to be my image.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, something like Jeremiah Smith and my
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: That yeah, you could, you could see it coming back somewhere.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: You could see it coming back somewhere, but we're right, but it's not going to be, it's not going to be what unless unless somebody reaches out and takes it like you never know, the college season is still still going, you know, yeah, we're missing, yeah, this time last year I did have, you know, Fernanda number one, but I mean, already, but like, you know, it's still at this time.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: It was still taking a lot of other people a lot more time to kind of get with that and say, oh, yeah, I guess he is going to be number one.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, there's still a lot more college game to go and we're going to have a line of sight on that.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think on your your points about not to critique them at more to accentuate them or is is the quick game.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_01]: I noted that Jeff Haffley talked about how good the offense looked at the half at the end of the half and then again later on and where what were they doing.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: They were using more quick game.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, and half Lee has been a guy that so far has not been afraid to steer the offense.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: To steer when he sees that something is going that he doesn't like.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, I, I joked that he was going to take Bobby slow into the principal's office after the first game of the year because I didn't think he got the assignment.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know what, he damn well got the assignment by week two.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that, I think that that conversation probably did happen.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, you have the game, you have afterwards, um, I think it was heading into the chief game where, um, where they talked about Austin Jackson and how he was getting thoroughly abused in the first couple of games.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: And Jeff Haffley is like, you know what, if we're being honest, we haven't helped him enough.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: And what did they do the very next game?
- 59:07[SPEAKER_01]: They helped him.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so, so this is a guy that will steer the offense and he's already just kind of given you a preview of what he's looking at he liked how the offense looked at the end of the half he liked how the offense looked You know, later in the game what kinds of things were they doing at the end of the half and later in the game a little bit more quick action quick game.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_01]: So so look for that going forward.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I looking at a belief will us, you know, split.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_01]: For this year, for 2026, and I am seeing literally only five RPO attempts.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_01]: Five.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_01]: That ain't, that ain't cutting it, you know, five RPOTents and 125 non RPOTents.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, that ain't cutting it, you know, right?
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, so that's that's one thing that they could also pursue.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: These skill position players, they all, you're right, they have to get together and they have to work on the chemistry with one another.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: But in particular, these skill position players need to learn that a scramble drill is not something you order from a waffle house menu.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, like they have to understand scramble rules and
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: Frick didn't get it.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm tired of this.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_01]: I've been watching the all 22 from game one to game five all year and every every week.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm picking out more occasions, you know, like, man, you got it.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: The do it on our discord.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_01]: I do it on Twitter.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just man, these guys don't know what they're doing in scrambled drills.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_01]: I had a team source actually texted me about it today because he saw me tweet about it.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_01]: And he was like, yeah.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's tough watching these guys.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's confounding how they don't know how to run to open grass, you know, and, and it's, and it really is a thing.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, so probably the number one thing is learn what you're doing on the screen.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like I don't like I don't get it.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: So they have to get on their shit that way.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: Pardon my French.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing, you know, you mentioned the quick game.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is that is that is coming that is coming.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't worry about them leaning into their identity and the run game.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think that I think they've got religion.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so I, you know, I'm not worried about that.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't past regimes with, uh, with Mike McDaniel ever since that first game, you know, where it wasn't what they promised.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't what it was for the first time where like you just didn't deliver what you promised.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think they have religion.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not worried about that.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: I like using Malik Washington in the run game, you know, as a running back.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's got, I think he's got some natural ability there and it presents a nice wrinkle for the, for the offense.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, offensively, after that, I would say Caleb Douglas and can we please toss out the plays in the playbook,
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: rowing deep down the field to Malik Washington and even Kevin Coleman.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, 5 foot 9, 5 foot 10.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's tough.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not even 5 foot 9, 5 foot 10 with 4, 4, 8 speed.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a great combination to be thrown deep.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like we need to rationalize this a little bit
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: and runs a 438 instead of a 448.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're going to use him.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_01]: We have Chris Bell here.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's like 224 pounds, and he runs in the 430s when he's not got a busted ACL.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do that.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, even though he lost that ball the sun,
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck it, you know, let's keep, let's keep trying until it works, you know, so rationalize the offense and who's doing what?
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, maybe it's put, you know, PTSD.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_02]: Especially since I saw yesterday, charges were running a heavy run script right into a 17 to 10 lead against the Broncos.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_02]: And then as soon as the Broncos tied it, it just, Mike McDonough just said, fuck it, just didn't save us.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll help, and I'll help broke loose.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so yeah, maybe they do, but he has so much access to the playbook that that Mike McDonough never got to use before.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's going to be an interesting week.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: This week.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_02]: Never mind the fans, the fans are pissed off.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, they're pretty much out on Malik.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's a right five games.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're done.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, at least as of now, the crowd was Boeing for the few people that were there to begin with.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's been it's been a rough,
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'll leave you all, I'll leave you on this note though, because I saw somebody, you know, they're doing podcasts or like the dolphins took a step back, the dolphins took it, you know, stuff like that.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_01]: Last week, we were probably a fingernail in a toenail away from from victory against the Vikings, right?
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, but that's still, that's a fingernail play and that's a toenail play, that's still two plays.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_01]: away from a 24 24 ball game with the Cincinnati Bengals and with us having the momentum late in the game because the offense was moving.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_01]: Was moving very well later in the game.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're getting further away necessarily.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_01]: People are like all they took a step.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, the quarterback in the passing game took a step back.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're all ball watchers on the quarterback when it comes to the quarterback.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're not paying attention anything else.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_01]: The whole team was basically one play away against the against the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they're getting farther away.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a take heart in that.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not to be the glass have full of caviar guy, okay, or champagne, but has this team played three phases yet?
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_02]: Good.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_02]: And they've actually been close to actually winning some of these games and doing really stupid things that are showing up on the old 22, okay?
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_02]: You had against the Vikings, you had a special teams unit that was just catastrophic to start out.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, if you remember, if you remember how that game started, that was much worse than what happened in this Cincinnati game.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_02]: Never mind, Riley Patterson.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like he needs to be cut like tomorrow.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't know what to do.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_02]: Riley Patterson is so bad that we forgot he got his third penalty on kickoffs for not landing in the landing zone.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_02]: How is that possible?
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_02]: I want to look that up.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_02]: I want to look that up.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder how many kickers have three penalties in how many games did he play?
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_02]: He played all year last year, right?
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_02]: So that's 17.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_02]: And this year, that's five more, that's 22 games.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_02]: Who has three penalties?
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not landing in the landing zone in 22 games.
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_02]: Because Rally Patterson is it.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, he's not reliable.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_02]: Anything over 45 yards for get it.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_02]: And even 45 yards, I'm holding my breath.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you missed an extra point yesterday.
- 1:07:16[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_02]: So come on.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, this team has not has not played their best game yet.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_02]: And they're kind of inching close like I'd be this guy.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_02]: You know what you know what it's going to take and figure your competition Bengals are a borderline playoff team.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_02]: So are the Raiders the Vikings are Super Bowl contender.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where this is where
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_01]: This is where I might not sure I disagree with you because I think they're going to jump up and bite something that nobody has winning simply because they finally time it to where all three phases are working in this particular game instead of just one out of the three every rotating.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, rotating every every game.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to get into one of these games.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who it's going to be.
- 1:08:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, you know, whatever, but you're going to get in one of these games and maybe it's against, you know, I'll just pick one out.
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's against the Patriots.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_01]: You go out there and you end up winning 38-10.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's going to happen.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to happen in one of these games.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just the judge's game in my opinion.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at maybe two, three wins this season and, you know, Jets should be feeding us one of them.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's going to have, and that's going to be another game that's like, wow, really, really beat them.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I swear to God, it's going to be that.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I think, you know, let's start with the with the jets next week.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to be extremely important because if you watch their game against the Browns, there's essentially just two teams just failing toward the finish line.
- 1:09:00[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a bottom of it.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a bump fight.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_02]: And at the end of the game, you looked up the scoreboard and one team had more points than the other.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's all that happened in that game.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_02]: And one team got further away from Jeremiah Smith, which is good.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_02]: because the jets are the scariest of them all.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what that is, right?
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_02]: Cause they have two picks, two first on picks and 28.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you imagine there.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what awful this year.
- 1:09:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's, you know what, my spit this year, then next year they take the top quarterback or screw.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing that with suck, that would suck.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_01]: Cause I'm gonna say, you know, they have all the picks this year, but it's gonna be a terrible quarterback class.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_01]: So that's actually kinda cool.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, uh, hopefully sell themselves on one of these guys, you know, the worry.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:09:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think we could call it right here.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have a, if you want to, if you want to contribute anything on arch Manning, I thought he was, I thought there was a worst game to date.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_01]: I said it on Twitter.
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a conclusion and search of evidence.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, because of his name, because of his pedigree and stuff like that, he does have talent to him.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's not that's not that's not that's not in question.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_02]: Big strong.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm, you know, Josh Allen talent or something like that.
- 1:10:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's not that's never been true.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's not that's not the case.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so, you know, it's just.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's stop pumping him up because of his name, particularly the name is not Peyton Manning, and the name is not Eli Manning.
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_01]: The name is Cooper Manning.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_01]: People coming up to me on the Twitter, Twitter, to be like, you know, Cooper was the best athlete of the mall.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_01]: And if Cooper hadn't got her, I was like, are you really saying this right now?
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_01]: Are you really saying this to me right now?
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, no, stop pumping him up because of because of the name, what the chips fall were going to fall on him, right, and just, uh, and just let it go, he's probably not even the top quarterback for the, for the year.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's, that's shaping up to be somewhere between CJ Carr and Drew Mr. Maker, neither of which will come out next year.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_01]: So it doesn't matter.
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 1:11:19[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, mentor, mentor.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_02]: But go mentor, right, you know, but, but he's a different evaluation.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, when I tell people he's tour, the best of tour, but it's tour nonetheless, six, three tour, you know.
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, and healthy tour, because he, you know, he got blasted against Clemson and he just got up again, you know.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_01]: So that's, that's what I'll go look at that quarterback.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_01]: I told you, I said it on Discord.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Don't look at the 2027 quarterbacks class.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about the 2028 guys of the 2029 guys who could come out.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about the 2027.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_01]: It is an absolute shambles.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_01]: It is Jade and my Ava and Trinidad Shamblas and everybody else and no, sorry, nobody else.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_01]: I was watching everybody else, nobody else.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_02]: On Saturday night, on Saturday night, I went with one of my four rays to, you know, it was one of those instances where I chased and chasing paid off.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_02]: Right, because I was like, man, Utah looks like they're going to smoke these people and it was a close game so I put a little something on Utah They have a quarterback.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_02]: I started watching and I'm like, where's this guy been all my life?
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_02]: Devon Dampier of Utah and Guy looks absolutely fabulous fabulous player.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I kept looking and I'm like, man, he does look short.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I looked them up and he's five eleven broke my heart And and if he's five eleven
- 1:12:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're sneaking in inch or two in us.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you've watched them play.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, fun is hell.
- 1:12:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's 210 pounds.
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's built by his, he's diminutive.
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_02]: He looks like Calamari out there.
- 1:13:01[SPEAKER_02]: But watch him, watch him play.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_02]: Hard to find another college quarterback more fun.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, that team was really good.
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_02]: They're a playoff team.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_02]: You thought it was a playoff team.
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to get to see him play a lot of football this year.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, watch Devon Demp here.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_01]: But that's how that's how it was with John material.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_01]: But then broke his hand.
- 1:13:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that bad game again, see that this point in game against Texas and which he closed the time loop this week.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_01]: So that's cool.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe we'll play well again.
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but, uh, but yeah, I think that, you know, those those five or 11 fun guys to watch, I am suspicious.
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_02]: I love these guys.
- 1:13:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're cool enough, I've been fooled enough in the, in the history.
- 1:13:47[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, your boy Janet Daniels, he looked great.
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_01]: He looked, he looked, he looked decent.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_01]: He has, um, it's like rookies.
- 1:13:56[SPEAKER_01]: what you appreciate about him is that probably like 80% of the plays look pretty good look decent you know and he's executing and then he's he's going to have he had I think maybe two or three in the first game and then he added you know some more in this game where it's just like woo two or three that you're just like whoa oh that was bad you really got away with one there that's that's rookie that's that's that's why i see keep saying like you know just because
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_01]: of a good route that Chris Bell runs or good play that Chris Bell makes or something like that don't assume he's out there doing the right things on the rest of the plays because he's not you know look at that fall start on third and eight that turned into a third and 13.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a wide receiver fall start and boy did he know it to like I felt bad for him.
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_02]: You like did it.
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, you know, and I felt bad for him, but you know, that you didn't have a training camp, but we know that he's recovering a quick recovery from an ACL.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_01]: We know that too.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to call it here.
- 1:15:00[SPEAKER_02]: We went intentionally long because you're not getting a show on Thursday, but we'll be with you again.
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we'll be with you again on Monday and when we're with you on Monday, we'll figure out what to talk about.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_02]: We'll probably set the stage for the rest of the season since we only have one by week, but till then.
