- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'll check some of Jack Wars fans.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome, and to do Vault Daily, President by GenJag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Luba, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Friday, December, 12th.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Wars, Jets.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Big game for the Jags, not as much for the Jets.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what do they play in for right now?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Pride, respect, trying to grow the culture a little bit with these young players, some of the young players they have.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: But they're going to be in a big reset year in 2026, with all the draft picks they're going to have.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: And all that over the next couple of years.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: For the jags, they need to win this to stay in the race for the one seed in the AFC.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: They need to win this to stay a top the AFC South.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: and to control their destiny.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they need to win this game.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that, I'm not gonna bury the lead.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they will.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't the bold prediction show, but I can't sit here and bury the lead all week.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: The jags are gonna win this football game.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: I really do think that they are.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Huge injury news, not surprising injury news, but it is big.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Brady Cook will start at quarterback for the jets.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: No Justin Fields, no Tehran Taylor, Brady Cook.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Starting quarterback New York Jets this week.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I know Jack's fans are always like, well, we can't win.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: We can't play good defense against backup quarterbacks.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's folly.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think that there is something to preparing for a certain quarterback, that quarterback leaving the game and the backup coming in and doing a good job against you.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: But the way the Jack's defense is playing right now, and it looked Brady Cook, Rookie Adam Missouri.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think he should be in the league.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: I really didn't.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I was not a fan of his game.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, scouting our Monman boo, who is also with the jats and Luther Burton company, watching Brady Cook, I was like, man, if they had a different quarterback, they could really be something in Amazon.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: So, and you know, I'm not trying to just destroy the kid, but I just, I don't really, I don't think that this is going to go well for the jets.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: The line is 13 and a half.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: It might move even, you know, more in favor for the Jaguars.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: He was an undrafted, free agent for a reason, Brady Cook, right?
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: And last week against the Miami Dolphins, who are playing better football,
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: He was 14 of 30, two interceptions, no touchdowns, also had two fumbles.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: He played about as poorly as you can play.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not all on him.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have a great receiving core right now without Garrett Wilson.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Defense struggles as well.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, this is not gonna go well.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't think it will.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I was working on making a show like, can the jets legitimately beat the Jaguars?
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: Think the Jaguars would have to beat the Jaguars.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know how it's gonna happen in this one.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Jags would have to completely implode in multiple areas that they've been really strong all year.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Can the jet hang around and make it tough?
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but if they do, it's going to be because they're offensive line.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Not only gives Brady cook some time to operate, but gives Breeze Hall some space to work with.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And in general, just like the offensive line plays their butt off, which they're capable of playing really well.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: But with the Jaguars at full strength, Josh Heinz Allen, Trayvon Walker, Eric Armstead,
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: all the linebackers flying around.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I think Anthony Campanilla, he's gonna have a similar strategy to what he did last week against Riley Leonard, when he came in.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, he just confused the hell out of him.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's a tough assignment, really tough assignment for a rookie quarterback.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: At least for Brady Cook, he can say he's been preparing for this for a couple weeks, actually playing,
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: This is not an easy assignment with the guys, the Jaguars have up front with the way that Anthony Camponelea can have like, you know, eight guys at the line of scrimmage.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know who's coming, who's dropping.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know what the actual coverage is going to be because they have so many post-nap cover rotations.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's tough.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And Breeze Hall hasn't been as effective lately because the quarterback play hasn't been as effective and because the quarterback's haven't been able to run the ball as well since Justin Fields left, that was kind of like a dynamic part of the offense that could threaten defenses in a way that they just can't now.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: So Breeze Hall hasn't been putting up the same numbers, but he's still dangerous.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: I like the jet, the jet's young offensive tackles, I know they just re-signed Josh Myers.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a group up front that I think you can get excited about long-term, but it's still really young.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Membu is a rookie for Shania in his second year, right?
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: So, a tipman's still pretty young.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see them having a lot of success on the offensive side of the wall.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, probably need 80 Mitchell to get behind the defense, take the top off the defense a couple times.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: It could happen, but the Jack's coverage has been excellent as of late.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: It really has been.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: And if anything, they allow more underneath stuff than down the field.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's that's pretty ugly defensively for them, you know, they have a pretty aggressive defense.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Will McDonald can absolutely heat up the quarterback was talking to Liam Cohen about that today.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: McDonald has a pretty deadly spin move.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's quick.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's fast.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a length.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: If Walker Little is starting, I think Wilmic Donald could give him fits, because Wilmic Donald, he lines up on the defensive right side, offensive left side, predominantly.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: That could be a matchup that could give the Jaguar as a problem.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Wilmic Donald's not insert star Russia that they've played like Hendrickson and Hunter and some of these guys that have killed Walker Little, but
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Saw G-Hod Wardkill Walker a little last time he was out on the field with a spin move inside spin.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping it's Colvane Lanin starting at left tackle.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think it should be and Liam Cohen didn't give like a definitive answer about that earlier this week, but he was asked as Colvane Lanin or in the starting spot and he said, I think so.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think that I think Colvane Lanin will be out there and I think he should be out there until proven otherwise.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: to get into these positions where you're forcing the Jaguars to pass on third down, which the jets have been good on third down in these clear passing situations, because as Liam Cohen said, their front and their coverage works pretty well together in those spots.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: But to get there, you have to stop the run.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And they just haven't been doing that all that well.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're given up like 140 yards a game on the ground.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: um... obviously they don't have quinnan Williams or sauce gardener i think this is a game where maybe the jackwars get back on track running the ball i mean the the dolphins ran for over two hundred forty two hundred thirty nine yards on them last week that is a wild number i mean that is that is wild the falcons ran for a hundred sixty seven on him the week before that
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I don't know how the jets really slow down this Jaguar's offense consistently.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then you talk about like the Jaggs being able to pass on early downs first, second down, avoid third down.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: They've been really good at that.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: I've been moving the ball well.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Brandon Stevens has been pretty good in coverage at corner, but not much
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: There are a man and man match heavy team.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm struggling to find the answers here and I think a lot of folks are around the league and like, you know, in Vegas with that 13 and a half point spread.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, their return game is very good as well.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about that here, but the jags have dealt with good return games.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: already.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think they'll be ready for that.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Jaguar special teams, the coverage units have been excellent.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the Jag, the Jaguars cannot go into this game thinking the way I'm thinking about it.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Within that building, they cannot.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: They have to be giving them respect, be prepared, all the focus and everything needs to be on this game, not looking ahead to a huge game that they could have against the Broncos.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: You can't have a let down here,
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: realistically I just I don't see it so that's why I'm at really appreciate y'all tuning in if you enjoy the content please like and subscribe y'all have a good one
