- 0:02Happy Sunday morning, everybody. It's a really nice day out.
- 0:10I'm going to head up to Quincy, IL on this Sunday and I'm going
- 0:13to race. But remember today is really
- 0:15Saturday because Monday everybody is off.
- 0:20I usually go to Quincy all by myself because everybody that
- 0:23helps me, they always say, oh, I got to get up in the morning.
- 0:28I usually get back from Quincy about 1:00 in the morning.
- 0:32Roy is going with me today. Roy Clark, I appreciate you
- 0:37going with me to Quincy today on this Sunday, Roy.
- 0:41All right, subject matter of today, realizing that NASCAR is
- 0:48number one. That's basically that's that is
- 0:52it. NASCAR is #1 nobody is even
- 0:57close to #2 And let me explain. You know how much I love dirt
- 1:06racing, right? I love it.
- 1:09But there's a place for dirt racing.
- 1:11You know, Richard Petty kind of pissed me off a little bit when
- 1:16they put dirt on Bristol. When they put dirt on Bristol,
- 1:23you know, it happened and everybody was like, rah, rah.
- 1:25And then did you notice what happened at Bristol?
- 1:30The first year everybody's like, yeah, yeah, dirt, dirt's the
- 1:32greatest. Then the second year was like,
- 1:36this ain't no good. They need to put real dirt cars
- 1:39on Bristol. What they already did, they
- 1:45already ran super late models at Bristol.
- 1:47It didn't work. The cars are too dainty, they're
- 1:50too light. The wheels are aluminum.
- 1:53The wheels were folding under the cars were breaking apart.
- 1:58Bristol is extremely fast, much, much faster than all those
- 2:02Tennessee red clay. You know, some of those red clay
- 2:06dirt tracks in Tennessee, you know, Bulls Gap and all that.
- 2:09You're like, oh, they're high bank.
- 2:11And you don't know what? You don't know what high bank is
- 2:15until you go to Bristol. TV does not do Bristol justice.
- 2:21So they've already ran dirt super late models at Bristol.
- 2:25It just don't work. It's too fast.
- 2:28So the NASCAR race car on dirt, Bristol, was a good show and it
- 2:33was the right thing to do. And they did it.
- 2:37All the dirt fans come out. And then by the third year, Kyle
- 2:43Larson said we need to quit doing this.
- 2:46You know, then everybody in dirt racing destroyed it, just ruined
- 2:51it. See isn't isn't it crazy?
- 2:55NASCAR tried to make you all happy and give you serve you up
- 3:03dirt racing on a silver platter. They wanted to recognize dirt
- 3:07racing. It was a celebration of dirt
- 3:09racing and you all ruined it because you talked so much about
- 3:13it. You know I dirt race and the
- 3:17dirt racing community is as bad as the NASCAR racing community.
- 3:23Dirt racing fans, they can bitch and moan 24/7.
- 3:28They are the biggest wine bags and I know I'm roughing y'all up
- 3:32right now but y'all deserve it. Hear me out I'm going to give
- 3:35you a lot more examples. So then all of a sudden dirt
- 3:37racing people, they get on their couch and they're like NASCAR
- 3:41sucks. Dirt racing is where it's at.
- 3:43Why go back to what Richard Petty said?
- 3:46He says NASCAR grew up on dirt. Do you hear what I just said?
- 3:52NASCAR grew up on dirt and they realized to to take NASCAR
- 3:59further, they had to get rid of dirt racing because it's very
- 4:07dirty. It makes the people all dirty.
- 4:11When you know, some people just want to go watch entertainment.
- 4:14They don't want to they don't want to get all dirty and they
- 4:17don't they don't want to go to the bathroom in a porta potty.
- 4:20Hey, we got the porta potty company here.
- 4:23The porta potties are really nice.
- 4:25You open the door to the porta potty and you just accidentally
- 4:28you look down so you can turn around, see where you're gonna
- 4:31sit and there's some old man's big ass turd right right there.
- 4:35How how gross just junk. So a lot of these dirt tracks,
- 4:43just the dynamics around the racetrack, the dirt's in your
- 4:47face. The bathrooms are just horrible.
- 4:52I know all the dirt trucks I go at, they don't have they don't,
- 4:55they don't have bathrooms here. Let's go through it peevely.
- 5:00The one I race at, they don't have bathrooms in the pit area.
- 5:04No bathrooms in a pit area. Granite no bathrooms in a pit
- 5:08area. Brownstown no bathrooms in the
- 5:13pit area. Quincy, IL no bathrooms in the
- 5:16pit area. You're forced to go to a Porta
- 5:19Potti and I think about Richard Petty.
- 5:26All these people say you need to hold a NASCAR race at a real
- 5:30dirt track. Well, they're all you know.
- 5:33I mean, now Eldora's nice, Knoxville is nice, but for the
- 5:37more most part, 9 out of 10 dirt tracks or just that.
- 5:43And here I am three years later realizing Richard Petty was
- 5:48right. Now I'm going to say something
- 5:50going to hurt your feelings. Dirt racing will never, ever be
- 5:56as big as NASCAR. You're going to sit there and
- 6:00you're going to defend it, but you got 5-6 hundred people in
- 6:04the grandstands. It's a fun sport.
- 6:10It's a good sport. I love dirt racing, but as far
- 6:15as jumping on your high horse, going dirt racing's where it's
- 6:18at. Maybe for your redneck ass, but
- 6:23let me tell you something. The majority of the people,
- 6:25they're not like us. My brother Rusty, my family,
- 6:29they make fun of me all the time.
- 6:31They go Herman. What do you run that old dirt
- 6:33car for? You know that that was the
- 6:34biggest thing. You know, people all around
- 6:37NASCAR, they go, Herman, what do you run that old dirt car for?
- 6:40They know Rusty and my family, they kind of make fun of me.
- 6:44Herman, what are you doing while you run that old dirt car?
- 6:46I love dirt racing, but guys, there's a limit to your to your,
- 6:53your ego. Dirt racing is not where it's
- 6:56at. It's dirty.
- 6:58It's it's, it's for us rednecks. So the next time you get on
- 7:04social media, you start telling me NASCAR sucks.
- 7:08Dirt racing is where it's asked. Just ask yourself, if dirt
- 7:13racing is where it's at, then why aren't they any bigger than
- 7:16what they are? And what does dirt racing have
- 7:18to do to be better? It'll never be any better.
- 7:23This is where it's at because it's dirt and it's dirty.
- 7:29Now, this was a little bit of an Ash tune for you people that
- 7:34clog up my timeline. Some of you dirt racers.
- 7:37Dirt racers weren't sad. No, it ain't.
- 7:41Richard Petty was right all along.
- 7:45Until we treat ourselves like a bunch of rednecks and put those
- 7:49porta potties in there. Where's the lady?
- 7:51You know? Yeah, you got some redneck
- 7:53ladies they like. You know, I'm my husband's crew
- 7:56chief. You know, that's fine.
- 8:00But I mean, the ladies deserve somewhere to go to the bathroom,
- 8:03don't they? Oh, but my tracks got bathrooms.
- 8:06No, you don't. 99 percentage dirt tracks in the pit area I'm
- 8:10talking to pit area is total junk.
- 8:13Now, I love dirt race. And I'm just telling you all why
- 8:16dirt race is never gonna be any better than what it is.
- 8:19It just won't. There's not enough money.
- 8:22Every dirt track I know of, they're poor, they're broke.
- 8:25And you know why dirt tracks keep going.
- 8:27And I'm like this. If you made it this far, the
- 8:30only reason dirt tracks keep going is because there's that
- 8:34one sucker that thinks the other promoter did a job and by God
- 8:39he's going to fix it. And they find out not long into
- 8:42the job just how hard dirt racing is.
- 8:48All right, respond right here. Without great dirt racing is.
- 8:52But dirt racing will never even be half.
- 8:55Don't know. They won't even be 1/4 of what
- 8:57NASCAR is. NASCAR is the teachers.
- 9:02You love to hate them, but they are the show.
- 9:05Have a great Sunday. I'll see you in Quincy.
- 9:07I'm a get home. I'm a take my motorcycle this
- 9:09time because the porta potties about a half a mile away at
- 9:12Quincy, the porta potty in the pit area.
- 9:17Now I'm not going up into the grandstands 'cause then you got
- 9:20to go up into the grandstands. No, I'm, I'm going to go to the
- 9:24porta potty all the way half a mile from my pit area.
- 9:29Have a great Sunday, everybody.
