- 0:00I don't think Elon Musk can blame me for the way Twitter is going I look I'm just
- 0:05telling you what he said right I know but I don't use Twitter that's not the
- 0:09worst thing he said about you either welcome to multiple
- 0:14nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:19Matt and Luke multiple nerdgasm your
- 0:23guide to All Things nerdy
- 0:30I don't I've never understood it no I used to use Twitter I mean so
- 0:36Twitter this week there been a whole I mean things aren't going well obviously
- 0:40and then you had mentioned um you saw an article about something Xbox related to
- 0:46do with Twitter yeah so ex so you used to be able to directly from the Xbox and
- 0:50your PC like share a screenshot or a clip like directly from the Xbox
- 0:54straight to Twitter then they've removed that yeah and well because the other
- 0:58thing Microsoft did this week is they they have a like an ad platform where
- 1:03you can go kind of like you know like Facebook has one I guess and except
- 1:06Microsoft not being a social network their's would let you make an ad and
- 1:10kind of push it out to Facebook and Twitter and Google and all that kind
- 1:14stff so you would make an ad campaign and push it out to all these locations
- 1:18um and they've said they're going to remove Twitter completely from the ad
- 1:22platform at the end of the month and uh elon's now threatening to sue them over
- 1:27that which I'm not quite sure on what grounds but but wasn't his whole thing
- 1:31just recently that he was going to get rid of like anyone connecting into our
- 1:35thing and you have to do everything directly through Twitter well they did
- 1:38they cut off the API for any third party clients basically just destroyed a
- 1:43couple businesses with no warning when he did that yeah I yeah I don't know
- 1:49it's fine for him to do that but if someone else goes we're not going to put
- 1:53out ads through here anymore then that not we got to sue you because that's
- 1:56that mean to me and and is is defense right with the API thing he's saying
- 2:01basically you're giving away free money you know letting people use it for free
- 2:05and I guess that's kind of true um this week Reddit also said they're going to
- 2:11stop allowing API access for third party clients and stuff which is kind of the
- 2:15same thing Twitter did and there wasn't as big a backlash but I don't think
- 2:20that's necessarily because people you know think it was okay it's because they
- 2:24gave a bunch of warning at least right yeah like that's the way you're supposed
- 2:29to do it Twitter just turned it off and then people were like it doesn't work
- 2:32anymore and they went yeah you're right we turned it off it's like okay like
- 2:37yeah and especially when they did it for that way like businesses just went under
- 2:40because well we have nothing prepared to try and change what we're doing or make
- 2:46laners for that it's just gone some companies yes uh companies like uh who
- 2:52makes tweetbot who makes tweetbot I can't remember the name of the company
- 2:56tap Bots it's called they also make a masteron client called Ivory and they
- 3:01very quickly pivoted and said please God
- 3:06buy our masteron client otherwise we're [ __ ] so uh I think they're okay on
- 3:12that basis and then icon factory makes twitterific and they have other products
- 3:16so I think they're also okay but there are others like this is that whole thing
- 3:20where people say you shouldn't build your business on top of someone else's
- 3:26business like especially like an erratic thing like a social network but I don't know
- 3:32there's I don't know I just there working in good faith like I think he's
- 3:36losing business because he's well yeah that's he's not being
- 3:42nice and not helping he's just not trust him anymore yeah exactly yeah there's no
- 3:47guarantee he's not just going to pull the rug out from under you now and like
- 3:52cuz what's happening with the blue ticks now cuz I'm confused so I think I've
- 3:57read so many different articles they're going there staying you've got to pay for it now
- 4:03right and there's a there been a period where if you paid for it it would say
- 4:08you know you got the Twitter blue or whatever and if you had a legacy one
- 4:12where you got verified before because it used to be just celebrities would get
- 4:15verified or you know people of note yeah yeah if you had one of those it had this
- 4:19kind of weird message saying oh this is a legacy tick boox I'm not actually cool
- 4:24or something stupid like that and then now they're just getting rid of all
- 4:28those ones so you just pay for it now which like yeah they are doing something with
- 4:35government stuff yeah it's a yellow tick box now and then a bloody different I
- 4:41just I don't know what he's doing and and also seen that for now I don't know
- 4:45if it's happened yet but you won't see anything on the for you page that
- 4:49doesn't have a check mark anymore okay okay so they you have to pay if you want
- 4:54to be seen on that you have to pay for but he did come out say oh doesn't stop
- 4:59people who you're following appearing for in your for you page if I'm
- 5:03following them they should just be my feed to begin with yeah yeah I mean I
- 5:09see what he's doing he's just trying to make it a somewhat feasible business but
- 5:14I mean they already hemorrhaging money so I mean that's the problem is it's not
- 5:18like Twitter was like a massive cash C before it's never been profitable
- 5:24there's just a stupid thing it there yeah but there cuz he was going to turn
- 5:29it around and make it all good but the decisions he's made is pushing
- 5:33advertisers away he clearly didn't realize how much how hard it was going
- 5:37to be to actually make it profitable it sounds like it's just not
- 5:42profitable if you look at it I think it's just because he's made good
- 5:46decisions in the past I'm not a lot of it is maybe just luck with what he
- 5:51jumped into and when and his personality and this is the first time where he's
- 5:56jumped into something that saying that like I used to think he
- 6:00was cool and smart but now I'm like did he just happen to get in with cool and
- 6:05smart people kind of thing rode his way to the top and then now it's like oh
- 6:10he's actually not that smart remember like he was PayPal Tesla they were all
- 6:15like quite small when he got into it and then became big this is the first time
- 6:19he's gone this is huge and I'm going to take over and then it just hasn't worked
- 6:24for him I mean he's not a dumb Dum it's just he's just maybe not as Savvy as
- 6:30everyone once believed but did you see he put out a
- 6:34challenge for anyone to come out with evidence to proof that his dad owned an emerald
- 6:40mine and his dad came out and went um C
- 6:44can I ENT up because I I can prove that
- 6:47I is that true Jesus Christ yes it wasn't I think where even he dad says I
- 6:54think it might have been the case where it's not like a traditional mine right
- 6:58in the sense but he was mining and selling emeralds okay I found that
- 7:05amusing that is funny so he sorry his dad won I guess I don't does he talk to
- 7:11his dad I have no idea I just get the feeling that he doesn't talk to a lot of
- 7:16his family I don't know I know he doesn't have a good relationship with
- 7:20his children no no especially not the uh
- 7:24his his trans kid who he has completely ostracized which is
- 7:30awful we've got some followup and this was quite interesting and um um oh Dan's
- 7:36not here by the way oh yeah yeah so uh unfortunately he won't be able hey we
- 7:41did that pretty early on in the episode yeah yeah yeah I just I just well I just
- 7:45realized he would be interested in this in particular I think so Dan usually you
- 7:50know he listens anyway so Dan here you go this one's for you Alec Baldwin maybe
- 7:56innocent and maybe he didn't pull
- 7:59trigger turns out New Mexico police have dropped the charges against him because
- 8:06they did a bit of investigating turns out the gun had been modified so it
- 8:11could be [ __ ] around with for for a movie uh where they they fiddle with the
- 8:16you know the way the hammer works and all that kind of stuff and maybe he
- 8:20didn't pull the trigger cuz the gun shouldn't have had [ __ ] bullets in it
- 8:24cuz it would been modified to to look cool and not function normally
- 8:30so uh and the I think they said there's
- 8:33just not enough the police did a pretty poor job of investigating at the time
- 8:39and they basically just said oh with all this new evidence they're not sure this
- 8:44is going to go anywhere anymore I I never thought that the one against him
- 8:48would go anywhere the one against the armorist I think that one yeah well it's
- 8:52it's tough now because apparently they've botched this whole thing like
- 8:56they didn't even look at any of the prop weapons for week after the incident and
- 9:02it's just even if they now turning around saying like oh this gun's been
- 9:06modified well the armorist is the one that's still responsible for how did it
- 9:10take so long for that for that to come up you've literally had you had this
- 9:15weird interview with Alec Balon where he's saying he didn't pull the trigger
- 9:18and everyone was like well that doesn't make any sense and all these gun experts
- 9:21saying that's not how the guns work how is it the police did not at that time
- 9:26look into it and go oh actually it's cuz gun was modified to allow that um you
- 9:32want to know what it is and I'll probably I could be wrong but I'm I I very rarely
- 9:38am um they wouldn't have been putting a lot
- 9:42of resources into this at the time sure like um they actually have like other
- 9:49stuff like actual murders where they don't know who's done it and they are so
- 9:53far backed up with a lot of their cases while this one was high-profile they had
- 9:57like a lot of the details there so they wouldn't have been putting a lot of
- 10:00resources into it you're prob and so that's probably why it's just taken so
- 10:03long to just get to the top of the pile it probably seemed straightforward at
- 10:07the time and then now they've realized oh actually it's not and we didn't do
- 10:12our diligence at the time and now it's not going anywhere cuz I'm still having fun like
- 10:18watching like YouTube for like court cases and stuff and there are court
- 10:22cases that are happening today and people are going but this happened like
- 10:263 years ago and they're just going yeah back up because of
- 10:29everything and so you're still even though yes you haven't heard anything
- 10:34about it you are now going to jail that's like I've told this story a bunch
- 10:37of times I think there was this article I read about an incident in San
- 10:41Francisco where I think someone had been knocked off a bike or something and this
- 10:46person writing the article or being interviewed for the article got arrested
- 10:50because they were hounding the police and saying I want to give a statement I
- 10:53want to give a statement the police were like we don't need a statement we need
- 10:55you to go away so we can sort this out and in the end they arrested
- 11:00cuz they like my right is to a statement or whatever and then the police were
- 11:04like we're [ __ ] busy and we really know what happened like leave us alone
- 11:09like like let I don't know if you're a cop you've got a lot you got to have to
- 11:15worry about I think most of the time that's why I hate First Amendment
- 11:21Auditors oh God a lot of them if you look at them like the whole thing a lot of them are
- 11:28saying is we should have the right to fil like cops and no one is saying that
- 11:32you don't the problem with a lot of them is you don't antagonize them while
- 11:35you're doing it they antagonize and introduce themselves into a scene and
- 11:39it's all like it's all like no you can film don't talk to them and try and get
- 11:45a reaction or yeah take you yeah I'm not I'm not touching you I'm not touching
- 11:50you I'm not touching you like I know it's not exactly media I'm media I'm
- 11:54allowed to go past this tape and if you look at like an actual news Outlet
- 11:58they're not going past it they're filming from a distance and then talking
- 12:03about it they're not trying to push their way in and I just some of them
- 12:07just what they have to go through yes there are bad ones out there yes I was
- 12:10going to say that let's not to say I know that there are you know issues with
- 12:16police Behaving Badly or whatever like that does happen as well but then also
- 12:20like it's a [ __ ] hard job so just just don't hassle that's right like if
- 12:25if you still see something film but you just film you don't have to
- 12:30get up in their face and talk to them the whole idea is just you film they
- 12:34don't have time for that [ __ ] like let's be honest see so many and they're going
- 12:40oh I just want to talk to you oh do you can you know what this what the third
- 12:43amendment is and they're s like I just want to do my job yes I know then other
- 12:47people like there's like if there's a minor incident and it takes ages for the
- 12:50cops to get there people like oh it took them you know for hours to get there
- 12:53it's like yeah but like what were they doing like you don't know like maybe
- 12:58literally there might have been you know a shooting or some horrible thing that
- 13:02they were dealing with and if you want and if you do or if you do want people a
- 13:07cop to always be able to get there in minutes then you got to start paying for
- 13:10that I I pay for my tax dollars Luke yeah yeah yeah but you need to start
- 13:15paying more taxes if you want more service a I don't know about that you
- 13:21want the more service not one thing we hate over here it's paying taxes I moved to New
- 13:28Hampshire are weird over there aren't they but yes yeah so it looks like Alec
- 13:32baldman can move out of my uh Vermont house finally show his face and he's uh
- 13:36stop hiding there they just announced he's going to be starring in some film coming up
- 13:40so and they're still releasing rust last we spoke about this W that's a bit odd
- 13:46but all right I mean well recoup some something but it is a bit
- 13:52odd yeah yeah just it's a shitty situation
- 13:57wrong and yeah oh well it's happening
- 14:03mhm yeah so uh yeah charges against dropped charges not dropped against uh
- 14:09the uh the armor yet that has not happened yet so there's no guarantee but
- 14:14her lawyers have said we're pretty confident they will I wouldn't be that
- 14:18confident personally but I wouldn't be that confident for her because all
- 14:22they've determined is that Alec Baldwin as an actor didn't P set well shouldn't
- 14:28wasn't didn't bear the responsibility of checking the gun because that wasn't his
- 14:32job it was still her job yeah yeah it was her job and if the gun had been
- 14:37modified and [ __ ] around with well that's your responsibility be on been a
- 14:41[ __ ] bullet in there yeah cuz apparently it had uh it contained one
- 14:45live round and a bunch of dummies that's not good why the [ __ ] is that happening
- 14:51why is there live ammunition on the set at all correct and it like I said to
- 14:57have dummy rounds an alive on in there that's a recipe for [ __ ]
- 15:01disaster like mhm yeah and yeah it was probably put in there by mistake but
- 15:06yeah why was not taken out by mistake I reckon not Tak out but yeah why was it I
- 15:11bet that's what happened they were [ __ ] around shooting them someone
- 15:14accidentally left one in there and that's what happened well that was the
- 15:17story that even at the start that evidently they were taking the guns off
- 15:20and MH messing around with them so stupid so stupid oh sorry I I want to
- 15:26jump in AI I just saw something that annoyed me go on the Michael Schumer is
- 15:33family suing a magazine after posting AI yeah I can't believe this this magazine
- 15:39for it Su away this is so wrong this magazine has a apparently a history of
- 15:45doing weird articles involving Michael Schumacher so for listeners who don't
- 15:51know Michael Schumacher famous Formula 1 driver had an accident skiing in 2013
- 15:57and suffered a serious brain injury and he has not done a single interview since
- 16:02and all we know is the family is very quiet about it they just want complete
- 16:08privacy for him and they've said he's not the
- 16:12same just leave us alone right no one really knows what that means and this
- 16:17art this magazine has a history of doing [ __ ] like uh when he was I think when he
- 16:21first had the injury he was in a coma and they ran a the front cover had a
- 16:26picture of him and his wife from the cover with the headline awake and the
- 16:31article was about other people who'd woken up from Comas cuz he hadn't
- 16:37yet and which is gross uh and then so this this time
- 16:44recently they ran his picture on the cover and
- 16:50some it was an article that was a fake
- 16:53interview with him made up by an AI like a like a chat GPT yeah interview that
- 17:00was like a simulation of what it would be like interviewing Michael
- 17:04Schumaker what the [ __ ] just it's so dirty so wrong how can people think this
- 17:10is it's and it's like you're trying to trick people like
- 17:16like why are you doing that like it's obviously a trick to think make people
- 17:20think oh Michael Schumaker gave him an interview like yep it's to sell
- 17:24magazines it's yeah that's gross this is why I don't like this
- 17:29where the AI is sort of going and the next step I thought when I first saw I
- 17:33thought they might have done like a voice Ai No which would have
- 17:39been but yeah to do yeah that's why I'm not liking front cover of it said it's
- 17:46the front cover was a picture of Michael the headline promising the first
- 17:50interview and had quotes my life has totally changed yeah he didn't say that
- 17:55chat GPT said that or whatever the whatever AI they interviewed like
- 18:01gross yeah look I I hope I'm happy that
- 18:04s and I hope they win because not not not for make money but just this should
- 18:11be a deterrent for doing something like that to make it's just it's just not
- 18:17good like why are you doing that just write a [ __ ] article about something
- 18:23normal like how you could still even write about him in the fact that he's
- 18:27still away you don't know anything about don't make stuff up and make it look like that
- 18:33he's I know and the fact that they have a history of doing this is just it's
- 18:37it's a German magazine called D act what does that mean in English let me look it
- 18:43up act I actually thought it would have
- 18:48been like a a English magazine cuz their
- 18:50tabloids are some of the worst out there
- 18:56for relevant it means
- 19:01relevant relevant okay
- 19:08okay di actual search it means yeah just means relevant okay so the magazine
- 19:15relevant just contains a bunch of irrelevant
- 19:19garbage yeah I don't know why why can't people just in like this just leave
- 19:24people alone yeah yeah like it's a bit like they actually just like leave us
- 19:31alone and they're staying out of the spotlight it's not like when you've got
- 19:34like the Royals who are just leave us alone and then we're going to do a
- 19:38documentary and we'll also videotape my therapy session but just leave us alone
- 19:43I saw a clip from the South Park episode with was it Harry and Megan where
- 19:47they're doing the on the the international levers alone tour where
- 19:51they going around stop looking at us stop looking at us very funny okay
- 19:57that's doing stories about them very different to about Michael Schumaker who
- 20:01is yeah family please leave alone and they're just they've not said anything
- 20:06he's had an accident and he wants to be left alone cuz he's he's not well people
- 20:12are the worst not us we're nice no German people wait that's my ancestors
- 20:17[ __ ] all right yeah we got follow up on this networks
- 20:24password sharing stuff I'm pretty sure we talked about this before um North
- 20:29America apparently is going to be coping this next because Netflix their numbers
- 20:32are [ __ ] and they've decided the best way to fix that is to not let people
- 20:37share their passwords anymore so they think they're counting
- 20:41on the fact that the people that can't use it anymore will buy an account and
- 20:45not just say [ __ ] you and stop using it it's weird I think they're doing it
- 20:51in different ways around the world I think in some countries they've done it
- 20:55like a hey you can't share or if you are going going to share you have to sort of
- 21:00pay extra for each license type of thing okay an additional fee but then I think
- 21:05in America they're just well we have the way it works here is we have I there's
- 21:11four levels of Netflix the first one is Netflix with ads and which is just you
- 21:16can have it on one screen at a time and then there's like Netflix without ads on
- 21:22one screen and then in in like low
- 21:26HD and then there's Netflix with full HD which is I think you can have it on like
- 21:33two screens at once and then the the top plan which is 20 bucks a month is 4K and
- 21:38you can have it on four screens at once but they've all going to be in the same
- 21:44house so see the one thing that scared me about when they're talking about this
- 21:48as well cuz like if you travel yeah I think you got like a the
- 21:54way it was going to work is yeah you had like a month so you had that account had
- 21:59to log back into the home account within a month for it yeah the device had to be
- 22:03on your home network or something some [ __ ] nonsense yeah
- 22:09which like what happens when like cuz there are times where I will travel
- 22:14overseas and I might be there for five six weeks and I do take Netflix with me
- 22:18because I'm well and the device right stop for me I've got we've got our place
- 22:24in Vermont right we don't we're just loging on the TV on up there
- 22:29like that TV is not coming back with me like yeah so we're just [ __ ] we can't
- 22:34use it up there so stupid so yeah they need to work out a way for people who
- 22:39are doing the right thing yes yeah CU I don't feel sorry for the
- 22:45people who are upset that I can't use someone else's password now no it sucks
- 22:50but you know at the end of the day yeah you're not paying they didn't intend for
- 22:54you to be able to do that but but yeah if I um right like if I go on
- 22:59vacation say yeah I should be able to still use it and if I have a holiday
- 23:04house I should still also be able to use it you should be able to use it there so
- 23:07that I think that'll be stuff that will have to be worked out because yeah it's
- 23:13still you correct I don't know how it'll work but I don't think they do either
- 23:19like I said the way they explain it I was like that's nonsense like that works
- 23:24if I'm using my iPad right but not if I use
- 23:29you know the TV telion because that yeah that stays
- 23:34there so I don't know but anyway yeah it might be different cuz
- 23:39like if if you only do like once a month it might be okay I think it's for all
- 23:43the stuff that's constantly being used maybe I don't
- 23:47know you you'll be the first one to find out if it hurts you yeah Al I don't know
- 23:52I don't know how much this is going to work for him
- 23:57like look not gross thing where you have to grow like it's not like Netflix has
- 24:02got to be profitable right but it's not enough to be profitable it's you've got
- 24:07to like be constantly more and more and more profitable every day and it's like
- 24:11yeah but everybody already has Netflix mhm it's like everyone's got like every
- 24:18now and again you increase your price just to keep up with inflation cost of things
- 24:22sure but look I think the problem is is there are too many streaming services
- 24:27now they're getting worse and and the and we talked about this last week
- 24:33problem [ __ ] HBO and everything like they just keep like they go oh I didn't
- 24:37it's not working quite well so they just flipped the [ __ ] table over and they
- 24:40go okay now we're going to smos these two together into this it's like why
- 24:43would I subscribe to any of these you just mess it up all the time but this
- 24:46was a problem we spoke about when like streaming services first started to come
- 24:50out like it was fine when there was a couple and it's always good to have a
- 24:53couple cuz you've got competition but now there's more than 10 and they've all
- 24:58got exclusives yeah because the this is like um there's a there's a some news
- 25:05going around this week and this reminds me of this car manufacturers are
- 25:09starting to to talk about not
- 25:13letting uh Apple carplay or Android you know equivalent whatever is that the
- 25:18Android auto M stuff they're not going to allow that anymore because they've
- 25:23realized well we could just make the software and you can buy your Spotify
- 25:28subscription through us and then they can make a cut of this sweet sweet
- 25:34[ __ ] app money that like Apple and Google are making so it's the same
- 25:39thing's happening where they're realizing hang on a
- 25:42minute like why are we letting apple and um Google take all the money and so now
- 25:48cars are just going to go the same way where it's like every time you buy a car
- 25:51it's going to have some different [ __ ] garbage software on
- 25:54there instead of just hey you can plug whatever you want yeah just plug your
- 25:59phone in and it's just basically just a screen that displays the car interface
- 26:03from your phone which is [ __ ] great why is that a market why is that a
- 26:07market they don't want to get into because they think it's [ __ ] money on
- 26:10the table fre like they think there's billions of dollars there that they
- 26:14they're you know they've turned their back on by letting apple and and Google
- 26:18come in and they but guys you're not apple and you're not Google you're going
- 26:23to do a [ __ ] job this is not going to work no cuz well look people are just going
- 26:30to start putting their phone on the dashboard again that's what's going to happen
- 26:35yes like yeah if you're thinking that yeah you're going to make money off that
- 26:39Spotify subcription it's not going to happen they Bluetooth their phone
- 26:42correct it's just going to piss everybody off yeah and because the other problem
- 26:47is too Tesla does not allow those things they use their own software but
- 26:54Tesla is not a normal car company same rivan like these are not normal car
- 26:58companies they're like very software based it's not the same thing and people
- 27:03still don't like the way those cars do it they that people want Apple carplay
- 27:09or Google [ __ ] auto auto or whatever Android like like the Android auto thing
- 27:14that's just a generic it's nothing special about it it's literally you plug your phone in
- 27:20and it and it just puts a little picture up on the scre it just streams the video
- 27:23off your phone onto the screen like it's it's yeah [ __ ] great cuz it's the
- 27:28phone that you use for everything else like yep so it just it works you don't
- 27:33have to mess around and try and learn or I'm thinking about the only time I
- 27:37really use it when you got to learn is when you're getting into a new car so
- 27:40when I was hiring cars a lot sure but I suppose like you do it once but no it's
- 27:44still it's a pain don't do it make life easy work in good faith people I know
- 27:50it's been going so well and then it's yeah so anyway it's just yeah reminds me
- 27:55of the streaming services where all these Studio realized hang on a minute
- 28:00why don't we just make our own streaming service and then they make this garbage
- 28:04[ __ ] app that doesn't work licensing out Star Trek we'll just have to we'll
- 28:08create Paramount plus and now everyone has to come to us and and we won't spend
- 28:12any money on trying to make it much money we're too busy counting the money
- 28:17the reason why people share passwords and try to get around is because there's
- 28:21only so much money that they can have for entertainment purposes and
- 28:26everyone's trying to get extra money out especially because over here apparently
- 28:29people still pay for cable and then they buy this stuff don't blows my [ __ ]
- 28:34mind I think they're just so used to you got to have cable and then yeah they use
- 28:40their remote to open up Netflix yeah yeah yeah that's what Jenna's parents do
- 28:45they watch Netflix on their Verizon cable box so funny because they've just
- 28:51Verizon have just told people you this is the Box you need and we'll make it
- 28:54easy for you to pay for the other services but you still got to I so I
- 28:58just have internet with Verizon all right nothing else and when I tell
- 29:01people how much I pay for it they're like oh how'd you get that and I'm like
- 29:04I just [ __ ] called them and said I don't want any of this other [ __ ] I just want
- 29:08internet and then they still send me they send me emails and they go oh we've
- 29:11got a great deal for you if you you know bundle a home phone and c I like I don't
- 29:15want a home phone or cable stop emailing me what are you going to do with a home
- 29:20phone yeah ignore it or unplug it because I don't want to hear it I don't
- 29:24want it look the the only way you can make the deal better is if I less yeah
- 29:29oh they're not going to do that they've they've bumped the price up mine's
- 29:32locked think [ __ ] but yeah you know like I don't know anyone here in Australia
- 29:39that I know of has like cable anymore who of some older people I know but no
- 29:44one has home phones anymore no no that's I think the only reason people do here is
- 29:50because they just used to buying these bundles like yep and the yeah the
- 29:56companies push them and I tried to
- 30:00cancel or change they can be quite abusive over there the funny thing here
- 30:05is right that I out is you're basic you're almost punished for staying with
- 30:10a carrier like a lot of people here will
- 30:15like say in this area the the main options really are Cox or
- 30:21Verizon and the new sign up deals are good but then they expire and and
- 30:28they're just like [ __ ] you so what people do is they just switch between
- 30:32the two providers like every couple years they switch I'm like [ __ ] pain
- 30:35in the ass like why don't you just like reward loyal customers or something it's
- 30:41like so weird no it's the same even here with
- 30:46electricity plans like I'm better off to change every few years cuz I'll offering
- 30:52a better deal and I'm so I don't want to it's a pay no it's annoying yeah I'm
- 30:57happy just to pay you just don't rip me off stop slowly bumping the price up
- 31:01over time like why why are you doing that I'm a I'm I've been a customer of
- 31:05yours for so long why are you [ __ ] me like I can understand bumping the price
- 31:10up but don't do it in a mean way just to when I first
- 31:15got my internet it was $40 a month and I was like this is amazing and then that
- 31:22lasted for 12 months and then it started creeping up and I was like hang on a
- 31:25minute so I called them I said what's going going on here and they said oh
- 31:29yeah your new sign up bonus expired and I was like so how does this work and
- 31:34basically it was just going to go up and up and up over time and I was like you
- 31:38realize that's insane right are you you're trying to force me away from you
- 31:43as a customer and then so that's how they they came back and they offered me
- 31:47I pay 80 a month for gigabit internet y
- 31:53nothing else and it's locked I I made them promise at the time I I said you
- 31:58will you're not allowed to change that price they said okay well like my it I'm
- 32:03paying like 150 for gbit and that's just the price like there's might like a more
- 32:09expensive yeah it's just well you look at it's about the same a little bit more
- 32:14expensive yeah yeah but that's just the price of it
- 32:20yeah yeah I just don't understand this weird thing with the it's like the phone
- 32:25PL you always got to keep growing yeah subsidize your phone and all that kind
- 32:29of weird [ __ ] like did that in Australia like if if
- 32:35I if I want a phone uh it's cheaper for me to get it
- 32:41with a like as part of my plan technically than it is to just go and
- 32:45buy a phone outright because for some reason the carriers will subsidize it
- 32:49but I have to pay month-to month for it which means I have to renew my phone
- 32:56contract so I guess they can bump the price of the cont contract up rather
- 32:59than you know I I have seen that and I do see like some plans I just buy my
- 33:03phone outright and then that's what I prer to do if you shop yeah and if you
- 33:08here if you shop around you can get like a good deal with like a third party
- 33:13provider yeah if you go through just a phone plan through like a t an opus it
- 33:18seems a bit higher but if you go through a third party you can spend like 40
- 33:22bucks and yeah see we we're grandfathered into a a an existing family plan
- 33:28so like the the month-to month is really good but I don't get this benefit that
- 33:33everyone else seems to get where you get the phone much cheaper but then I'm like
- 33:38yeah but then you have to sign up for 24 months for some massively more expensive
- 33:43phone plan so like I mean sort of the phone's cheaper but is it I don't know
- 33:49yeah it's just so I just don't like being on a plan
- 33:55I I'm not spending over $100 a month for a phone no it's Insanity crazy talk also
- 34:02I'm most I'm always on the Wi-Fi anyway cuz I just work at home yeah so I yeah
- 34:08now can we talk about let's stick with musk even though we stopped talking
- 34:12about a while ago and go back to SpaceX oh yeah yeah yeah did you watch the
- 34:16launch I I didn't I meant to but I forgot about it and I really wish I did
- 34:22now that I know know knew it blew up well they thought it was going to that's
- 34:27what I've seen some funny takes on this this week so this was the test flight of
- 34:33Starship full first fully loaded test flight of Starship is this the one
- 34:38that's going to the moon or is this the one for Mars it's going I I think
- 34:41potentially both but it is the one that they've pitched as going to Mars that's
- 34:45been the big pitch for a long time and the point of this was just to try and
- 34:52launch it and then I think they said on the broadcast anything once it left the
- 34:57Tower and got up in the air anything beyond literally getting a meter above
- 35:04that Tower was just kind of like icing on the cake and like they figured it was
- 35:09probably going to blow up cuz that's just how they
- 35:15operate and and that's not unusual that's what that's how SpaceX does stuff
- 35:20they like they like try fail iterate like it's it seems like an expensive way
- 35:25to do it but it's actually fairly quick way to to get successful is that
- 35:31okay that didn't work's do it in practice it's all Theory yeah exactly um
- 35:37actually see it no but this one actually flew yeah yeah so technically this was a
- 35:40success it's just it didn't look like one because it blew up so there's been
- 35:44some funny takes with people going oh elon's [ __ ] up again it's like well no
- 35:49he didn't technically yeah yeah like this one wasn't didn't have cargo it
- 35:54wasn't planning to do anything this one was just get off the ground they
- 35:58expected it to fail in some Manner and I was disappointed cuz I wanted it to blow
- 36:01up while it was Landing because that Landing maneuver that they do is just so
- 36:06cool but I still it's still it's magic to Black Magic how that thing lands
- 36:12doesn't make any sense to me yeah so they have that's the thing too people
- 36:16confused that like the they have launched this thing sort of before Proto
- 36:22like prototypes of it and landed it but this is this was different this was like
- 36:27full payload weight with like the the the full rocket thing and everything on
- 36:34it like it was a whole different kettle of fish yeah this was uh like this is how
- 36:40heavy it's going to be when we actually do launch it some humans in
- 36:44it yeah and hopefully it won't end that way when this hum we should go and watch
- 36:51one of these launchers one one day I would love to do that yeah it's down in
- 36:55Austin yeah I'd love to do that we launch stuff in Australia we got
- 37:00plenty of room launch from here I think I think it's practical to launch from
- 37:06the equator that's literally why they do it yes so but it's a long way for me to
- 37:11go nothing personal right it's just just easy to get to space from from Austin or
- 37:20Florida I've been to uh Kennedy Space Center in Florida it's a cool place oh
- 37:25how's that yeah yeah yeah it's good that's where I learned they told us that
- 37:28um this is actually a trivia question
- 37:30one week the fences are bent over
- 37:35outwards to stop alligators climbing over them because they used to have an
- 37:39issue where the alligators would climb over the fences and get onto the like
- 37:45the launch pads and stuff so in case you're wondering if alligators can climb
- 37:49a fence they can they can yeah they can and they do I would assume that they can
- 37:56I wouldn't have assumed that with a little little legs yeah there's they're big lizards
- 38:02lizards can climb trees that's fair
- 38:06yeah that's the way I look at it alligator prob a lot of people out there
- 38:10are screaming at me while I'm wrong but speaking of animals climbing trees I
- 38:16watched a movie how was it I've been wanting to see
- 38:21this cocaine bear I watched cocaine bear
- 38:25it's it's [ __ ] ridiculous it's uh it's based on a true story but I have a
- 38:31feeling that the movie is the only only part of true is there was a bear that
- 38:36had cocaine and that's about it yeah I highly doubt that uh 90% of this movie
- 38:42really happened but that's fine it's uh it's just a bit of fun it's it's
- 38:46ridiculous it's about a it's like a a a drug mule I guess or there's a flight
- 38:52you know like a flight of cocaine in the ' 80s they're bringing it up into into
- 38:57America Over Georgia the guy throws all the cocaine out of the plane cuz he's
- 39:04going to parachute out and retrieve it and uh
- 39:08he hits his head and falls to his death
- 39:12and the uh cocaine is found by a bear
- 39:16which eats it and goes on a rampage and that's the plot so I think
- 39:22the actual story is it's basically yeah that was dropped off yeah the bear found
- 39:28it ate it and then died of a heart attack and I think that's the true part
- 39:32of the story I kept expecting that to happen I was like this that's a lot of
- 39:37cocaine for a bear I mean I mean I don't know a lot about cocaine I'll be honest
- 39:41but it just doesn't seem like you want to eat that much of
- 39:45it but yeah no it's it was good it's fun it's very gory so be be aware of that
- 39:51listeners if you're squeamish it's it's very uh I mean that's the point of it to be honest
- 39:57it's yeah yeah it's schlock but it's it's funny it's funny it's a comedy it's
- 40:03not a serious movie in any way yeah this is It's directed by Elizabeth Banks yeah
- 40:08so yeah funny very over the top very
- 40:12silly uh which is a movie you want to
- 40:16see every now and again yeah just
- 40:21fun ridiculous it's got uh uh what's his
- 40:25name who played young Han Solo in in it took me a bit to pick who it that's who it was
- 40:31too I was like that I never remember name I was like oh [ __ ] it's h uh alen
- 40:37IR or something yeah something like that yep yeah he's in it yep Alden should be
- 40:43Holden Holden I remember Holden alen I
- 40:46don't get oh okay Holden's not a name no he's in it is anyone else
- 40:53recognizable in it there's people I've seen in other things I don't know their
- 40:56names though let's have a look let to be great actors
- 41:03in a good way because that's what this is yeah it's yeah are you going to
- 41:08actually I need to ask you are you going to the movies this week
- 41:14Noz Evil Dead rise comes out this week oh no very unlikely that I'll be going
- 41:18to the movies but uh I am I do want to watch that but
- 41:24uh yeah difficult difficult to get the movies these days that's what I thought
- 41:29yeah cuz there's I want to see that there's Guardians also in the next
- 41:33couple of weeks but you're right with the names on this there's a lot of like
- 41:38Marg marale Margo marale I've seen in a ton of stuff before I'm sure I just I
- 41:45couldn't the biggest name in the actra movie is just R OT oh yeah that's true
- 41:50yeah R OT is in it this is the last film he ever did it's dedicated to him yeah
- 41:55at the end dedicated to his memory I would have dedicated to him more than
- 42:00his memory it's [ __ ] ridiculous his memory probably is that good anymore
- 42:04last movie such a stupid movie oh she's from um the thing that
- 42:10I've seen Margo marale in recently is that TV show that we
- 42:17watched um what was that called oh the weird one yeah what was that
- 42:23called uh The Watcher The Watcher
- 42:27yeah such a strange mood I'm still the T show is still quite weird because
- 42:32there's no end to it yeah it's just a there's an end to it but that's also
- 42:38based on a true story yes I recommend Caine bear it's fun all right if you
- 42:43think that's your kind try get to the mve to see if you like movies where
- 42:47bears eat cocaine and eat people that sounds like something you'd be
- 42:52interested in you'd probably like it if you think that sounds a bit gross don't
- 42:57watch it cuz you'll almost certainly you'll almost certainly think it's gross
- 43:01yeah I saw some behind the scenes photos and yeah just like people been ripped
- 43:06apart yeah yeah there's lot of blood yeah yeah yeah well that's what would
- 43:11happen with a bear on cocaine well it's not they just di it's very over the top
- 43:15and done in a you it's one of the it's hard to explain I suppose but you know
- 43:19when it's it's done in a goofy way it's
- 43:22not like you know there like horror like
- 43:26like hostage cell where it's very like intense and you know dire it's this
- 43:32isn't like that it's just very over the top and silly like you're not supposed
- 43:36to care about these people you're supposed to cheer when they get ripped
- 43:39to pieces kind of thing yeah all right I'll be on the lookout for that then
- 43:44good good I've got some news that it's
- 43:49not good news for the Marvel Cinematic Universe I think oh what's happening now
- 43:56we didn't I don't know that we actually talked about this but there was an
- 43:59incident uh a few weeks back I think it might have happened while I was in
- 44:03California actually not suggesting I had anything to do with it I'm just saying
- 44:06that's when it happened where Jonathan Mages who played K
- 44:12in Antman versus wasp and he played he
- 44:16was in Loki and he's in Lovecraft country he's been in a few things and he
- 44:22was supposed to be the or is still I suppose supposed to be the big major villain of
- 44:28this uh phase of the Marvel Cinematic
- 44:31Universe y he was arrested for
- 44:36allegedly choking a woman or assaulting
- 44:39a woman and uh it was kind of news at the
- 44:44time and he maintained he was innocent however uh this week he was dropped from
- 44:50he's been dropped from a bunch of movies uh he's been dropped by his management
- 44:54and he's been dropped by his PR firm
- 44:58uh which none of that is good so during drop by the movies at this stage that's
- 45:04probably you can see but being dropped by your management that's yeah so that I
- 45:09think s so it's not good and and obviously the
- 45:15most important thing is hopefully he's not hasn't you know seriously injured
- 45:20anybody and he's this is not a yeah that's just horrible but this is just
- 45:25not good news all around really because what the [ __ ] is Marvel going to
- 45:31do about this uh evident from what I can say it happened in New York so you are
- 45:35off the hook oh good oh yeah I was I was very far away from New York If I Was
- 45:39Here it'd be more likely that I was involved not that it would be likely
- 45:43that I was involved so yeah CU ring part statement is all evidence proof that
- 45:47he's entirely instant and in whatsoever unfortunately inent came about because
- 45:52the woman was having an emotional crisis for which she was taken to a hospital
- 45:56yesterday the npt is required to make an arrest in these situations and that's
- 46:01the only reason he was arrested so that's the statement well then why why
- 46:05is all this happening then I think that yes that they are required to make an
- 46:10arrest if there's been an assault and there's an aggressor I mean I I don't
- 46:15know the specifics so I mean maybe it is true because something happened but then
- 46:22for it to have been this long now and all of a sudden everyone's like oh I
- 46:25don't we don't want anything to do with him any anymore that's not good like
- 46:30yeah look I don't so clean cut that he was innocent why aren't they supporting
- 46:35him sticking around especially with your management PR who he pays handle this
- 46:41type of stuff yeah they're like we're not touching
- 46:44this so I don't know I don't think this will be too much of a problem
- 46:50for Marvel at the moment you could recast it true I don't
- 46:57think he's done I haven't seen a man but did he play like a super major or is he
- 47:02just in know I think he was the main villain I think he's you know oh I
- 47:06thought he might have been like a end of sequence type of
- 47:10thing yeah and and now you mention actually if if depending on what happens
- 47:14here replacing him would actually potentially be a good PR move for them
- 47:20yeah if he's guilty of whatever this is if he's guilty yes yeah yeah yeah
- 47:26strange his legal teams claim additional evidence that could exonerate him well
- 47:32all right oh including video footage from the vehicle where it took place
- 47:37yeah interesting I mean this is all horrible and obviously we don't know any
- 47:41I I don't think they've released any details of what this is so
- 47:47no just yeah doesn't sound
- 47:50good no and I doubt like even yeah it's probably the video even though it may on
- 47:57m still not not make him look good no I'm going to guess even if it didn't
- 48:02come down to a physical thing which they didn't they say he didn't even he didn't
- 48:05touch her so even if it shows that yeah no worries well it shows him not
- 48:11touching her yeah but the thing where I think it it's still not going to look
- 48:15good for him if it comes out is the fact that she still ended up having to go to
- 48:19hospital in an emotional crisis so may not have been physical but it
- 48:26doesn't sound entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever I mean if there's video
- 48:33evidence of that fair enough I guess this isn't going to go anywhere so good
- 48:39we'll just wait and see yeah I mean they're not going to show me the
- 48:44condemning him yet yeah yeah no no same I just I saw these articles this week
- 48:48and I was like oh that doesn't sound positive
- 48:52like it's pretty big I say I say if anything happens I reckon that will just
- 48:58straight away recast yeah they'll have to yeah and I don't think it'll be a
- 49:03huge thing yeah as you said it'll probably look good for them yeah yeah as
- 49:08long as it's I guess if it's a kind of a wishy-washy thing then it could end up
- 49:13being a mess which is what it is right now I think is fairly wishy-washy like
- 49:16we don't really no one knows what the [ __ ] this even is so
- 49:22anyway wait and see but let's talk about some other horrible people well hang on
- 49:28I don't know about this one right like not yeah this is another one where I'm
- 49:34like what happened so as we know F
- 49:39Murray Abraham did not appear in season 3 of Mythic Quest and they said he was
- 49:44too busy I think that's what they said and they literally they actually even
- 49:47killed him off they rot his character out of the show so he's not coming back
- 49:52uh and then now this week it's come out allegedly he was fired for sexual
- 49:58misconduct which I was like oh [ __ ] me not F Murray Abraham because he's a
- 50:04well-known beloved actor and I just not I just don't want that to be true if it
- 50:09is true well [ __ ] him but I don't want it be to be true but then so that came
- 50:14out and then he's now um come out and issued an apology uh with some
- 50:21elaboration um that makes it seem like it's not not as bad as that first
- 50:25headline made it sound where the the the original headline was uh fired for sexual
- 50:30misconduct he's saying he told some jokes off col jokes I'm guessing so his
- 50:36statement is I'll do this in my best def Mar Abraham impression this is a sincere
- 50:41and deeply felt apology though never my intention to offend anyone I told jokes
- 50:46nothing more that upset some of my colleagues and as a result lost a job
- 50:51with wonderful people I've grown in my understanding from this experience and I
- 50:55hope they will forgive me pretty good apology I don't know that's depending on
- 51:01what he did if it was just some jokes what's that like there's a difference it
- 51:06depends on like what type of jokes he's talking about if he's making jokes about
- 51:11people he's working with here's the thing right it's Mythic Quest it's Rob
- 51:17mlan like I got to imagine these people have thick skins
- 51:22for some off-color jokes yes so the [ __ ] did he say yeah
- 51:28and that's what I'm saying like I don't I don't think he's he's a was it 83 year
- 51:33old man like what could he have said that was that bad it's just so confusing
- 51:37well that's what I'm saying like I don't think it's like a joke like a PR Rabbi
- 51:40walk into a bar type of thing I'm thinking it's like he's making jokes
- 51:44directly at some of do you think it's a case of like a joke that I'm going to
- 51:49take you back to my room and that's he's hanging out with like mlan and and these
- 51:53guys who do make kind of because those guys they do make crude jokes but
- 51:58they're clever jokes and you I wonder if it's just this he's an 83-year-old
- 52:02trying to talk like the kids are talking and it's just what he's just [ __ ] it
- 52:08up what I'm actually more scared about is he's grown up in an industry where
- 52:13you're allowed to get away with [ __ ] and he's finally just been called out for it
- 52:17yeah you might be right I don't like I said I just I was so happy when he was
- 52:21in it and his character was so good and I don't know it's just so yeah it's a
- 52:27shame to think that it's a shame to think they're all like that you know all
- 52:31of them yeah but it does seem to be that way but his apology is didn't mean to
- 52:36offend I told some jokes and they got offended that's on them no no that's not
- 52:42not necessarily true no he said he says it's sincere that be felt he didn't mean
- 52:46to offend he told jokes nothing more which I feel like is a fair
- 52:49clarification given the fact that the [ __ ] headlines say he sexually
- 52:52assaulted somebody if he just told jokes if he made some J folks that's pretty
- 52:57different to I think he's trying to make it clear like it was nothing I didn't
- 53:01touch any I didn't try to assault I didn't yeah exactly yeah I he made he
- 53:06made a joke or several jokes it sounds like sounds like there were two
- 53:10incidents why they fed one line that really gets me in this it's that upset
- 53:14some my colleague leaked and then he goes and because that I lost my job well
- 53:18it I don't know I think you reading into that a bit he did I mean he's just
- 53:22saying he loved the job and he lost it as a result of a mistake he made it you
- 53:27could either read it as he's blaming them or he's accepting responsibility I
- 53:32don't know oh no and unfortunately it's because when you don't know what
- 53:35happened no no and that's the worst
- 53:39thing F muray Abraham what did you say I want to know joke the other thing that
- 53:45makes it weird is the fact that they didn't say this at the time it was only
- 53:49just come out now before it was up he just too busy it's a shame we loved
- 53:53working with him Well they um they did say at the time they don't comment on
- 53:58that kind of think oh there was another article I read it's not in this this
- 54:01article I've seen a few articles about this there was one that said at the time
- 54:06he left the show they contacted them and said why is he leaving and they said
- 54:12well we don't we don't discuss that kind of stuff like it's just the decision
- 54:17between him and the show Runners kind of thing so it doesn't sound like it was a
- 54:22decision that with they're not going to tell everybody that you know what I mean
- 54:26I think that was the point was there's none of your [ __ ] business why he
- 54:29left and then now this has come out so and the other thing is that I mean the
- 54:35this is such an odd way of pointing it th reports the production team on the
- 54:39White Lotus season 2 which uh he was on after he left mythy Quest didn't receive
- 54:46any complaints about his behavior so well I mean he got fired so yeah it
- 54:52doesn't really mean anything maybe and and if you go off
- 54:56if he was a prick all the way up to that point and then he got fired and he
- 55:00stopped doing it afterwards I mean good but that doesn't mean he wasn't a prick
- 55:03before that it's like if I was stealing [ __ ] from work or something like that
- 55:07and I got fired for it I'm not going to start a new job and immediately steal
- 55:11[ __ ] again am I yeah well it's even like when people J Sweden sure when some of
- 55:17stuff were coming up well he was fineing around me yeah but he didn't care about
- 55:23you the way he was and this is the thing that comes down to my theory about I
- 55:28mean what the White Lotus from what I understand is a very different kind of
- 55:31show and I like I I just wonder if this is a case of an old man trying to fit in
- 55:38make edgy jokes jokes got away from him yeah he's trying to make edgy jokes and
- 55:42he's just not very good at it and he's offended a bunch of people by saying
- 55:46some you know something you know sexist or what whatever he said I don't know
- 55:50what it was what he said but that it's also CU I would have unless he was just
- 55:55crazy on this first time we did and just went all out but you think he would have
- 55:58had like words like hey you got back a bit I read again this is all alleged but
- 56:04oh here we go sorry the first resulted in him being given a warning and told to
- 56:09keep away from some of the show's actresses a second in allegation came up
- 56:14and it forced Rob melan to let him go from the show so it happened twice or
- 56:21something like it happened tce at least twice to that level potenti it even
- 56:26clarify whether it was the same person but I guess whatever whatever he was
- 56:31doing it pissed off people on more than one occas it wasn't physical but he was
- 56:35saying some stuff to some of the actresses that was not appropriate more than
- 56:40once and he says it was jokes whatever that means he says it was jokes yeah
- 56:46okay yeah well but yeah like I said
- 56:51given given what I know about people J who work on that show must have been
- 56:56some [ __ ] joke because like I said I don't think
- 57:00they're thin skinned people so no yeah
- 57:05oh well it's a shame he'll be missed yes
- 57:09he's not dead yet but he's getting there his character is yep that episode was
- 57:15very did you like it wasn't like did I don't yes the episode where he's his
- 57:21ashes are in the satellite cuz
- 57:27funny glad I didn't find out before I watched it but it was a bit of a weird season
- 57:33I'm looking forward to the next season where I think hopefully it goes back a
- 57:36bit more to yeah it's a little bit um disjointed yeah it doesn't feel like
- 57:40it's going anywhere yeah yeah like season one did and season two and three
- 57:46so far I felt just been kind of just kind of drifting along and there's like
- 57:51multiple stories that aren't really yeah I'm just there's no glue so to speak
- 57:57yeah M especially like with season 3 the whole idea is all going off to make
- 58:01their own game and then the whole series is that doesn't come about and then they
- 58:04go back so it's sort of there no end goal yeah so now hopefully it'll go back
- 58:10hey we're going to make a new expansion or something and there'll be something
- 58:12to aim towards and season 3 was the uh oh the season 3 one was the story about
- 58:18how um Iron and Poppy met that was pretty good that episode but it wasn't
- 58:24as good in my opinion as the one of the first season the quiet Dark Death oh the
- 58:30first that's such a good episode like just amazing TV uh and then the one in
- 58:36the second season about F marur Abraham's character when he he steals
- 58:41the he the Isaac aov no but Isaac azimov rewrites his book for
- 58:46him that was very funny as well that was very funny too that was a good episode
- 58:52yeah it's a good show Mythic I just I hope come together in some way cuz it
- 58:58yeah yeah but yeah it just it feels it's lost its lost itself it's trying to do
- 59:02too much when I got to the final episode of season 3 I was like oh that's it okay
- 59:08that didn't go anywhere like I liked it yeah it just didn't satisfy me you
- 59:14know they've been renewed for two more season I think two more got rened for
- 59:19two more so I could be wrong about that maybe there was two more last time I
- 59:24know they yeah I think they weren't need for at least two to begin with but I
- 59:27think now that I don't know if it did as well as the first season I think it's
- 59:31been dropping off I think same thing that we've got is well yeah jointed yeah
- 59:36yeah well that's I said it's not leading towards anything like season one had
- 59:42this through line where they were all working together on this the expansion
- 59:46and there was the you know the Mast man and all that kind of stuff and it was
- 59:49all kind of going somewhere together whereas like you said it's now it's a
- 59:52bunch of separate story lines that are not connected
- 59:57yet yeah like they're there and the characters are it feels like they they
- 1:00:02they're like almost connected but they then they Veer away and it's like yeah
- 1:00:08anyway still a good show it is and I'll still watch the next season before we go
- 1:00:14I'm still I'm just going to need to find his name what's his name Robert Paulson
- 1:00:18Cricket what's his name oh um Dave [ __ ] what is his name Dave Hornsby
- 1:00:24David Hornsby yeah I still say he's one of the greatest actors ever he is a
- 1:00:29fantastic comic actor he is so funny but also he does the dramatic scenes very
- 1:00:36well too like just yeah I know what you mean his improv he play cricket which is
- 1:00:40CR and then like in Good Girls he plays this horrible person and then this and
- 1:00:46he plays com he's just yeah I don't think he's just a great actor I just
- 1:00:49like to bring that up his um if you watch the bloopers for It's Always Sunny
- 1:00:54in Philadelphia the one with him are so funny because the no one can keep a
- 1:01:00straight face while he's he just like [ __ ] improvises and makes this weird
- 1:01:04[ __ ] up and it's all hilarious and I you can't couldn't have been used in the
- 1:01:08show because everybody just starts laughing so God just he's just [ __ ]
- 1:01:13hilarious there was that episode in Always Sunny where they kept spitting in
- 1:01:16his face and they're actually spitting in his face and he
- 1:01:22just oh man so funny all right before we go we've got some bad news that we found
- 1:01:29out this week we could have had something really good and it was taken
- 1:01:32away from us back in the 2000s late
- 1:01:362000s yeah late 2000s we almost had an aliens
- 1:01:42RPG made by obsidian what the [ __ ] which
- 1:01:46would have been amazing cuz like evidently they were working on something
- 1:01:52nothing fulltime or anything from what I can see for about 2006 to 2009 in 2010
- 1:01:57is when we got Fallout New Vegas which some people say is like the best Fallout
- 1:02:01game still so so during that period where they were making the [ __ ] cream
- 1:02:05of the cream role playing games they
- 1:02:08were working on an aliens one that got
- 1:02:12sheld and it's it's so so depressing because the alien franchise is so good
- 1:02:18but we don't get good games for it yeah I know like alien
- 1:02:23isolation is probably the best and then everything else just
- 1:02:28seems to just miss like even the old alien vers predator and stuff they were
- 1:02:33goofy fun but they weren't good and like
- 1:02:37yeah oh man imagine a
- 1:02:41[ __ ] like what even was this game like what was it's just so I need to
- 1:02:47know more about it like what was the premise of this was it like a Fallout
- 1:02:52Style game or like I mean it says role playing game going be like a yeah it just says role
- 1:02:59playing game which that's very generic so that's I'm not thinking it would
- 1:03:04Boulders gate and all as well so it could have been like that or I doubt it
- 1:03:08was going to be like a Fallout like first person it may have been like
- 1:03:13aetric imagine that it could have been maybe they should do that I don't
- 1:03:19know I don't think love didn't just make more games
- 1:03:24yeah well the people who moved on to
- 1:03:28do out of world out of world yeah and I'm looking forward to out of world too
- 1:03:34because on that note have you played it's going to be bigger have you played
- 1:03:37space's Choice Edition yet no cuz I've heard it's got a lot of issues like with
- 1:03:44uh performance and stuff so I've held off on on on even looking at it because
- 1:03:48I was waiting to see if they resolve that so I was hoping you'd play I didn't
- 1:03:53I didn't I don't want to buy it again yeah that's the thing I don't either you
- 1:03:57got to buy and I'm also like I've played it and it looked fine and it's only
- 1:04:01meant to be like it's not adding new story or anything that I from what I
- 1:04:06understand it's just Graphics isn't it but yes and and the thing is though that
- 1:04:10I saw some screenshots and yes visually it does look quite a lot better except
- 1:04:14there are a lot of glitches and issues that it introduces so I was like well
- 1:04:19okay I mean I I already played through the game yeah like it was adding new you but
- 1:04:26yeah I've already played through it so I mean it was very good I I'm looking
- 1:04:32forward to two yeah now that they were basically the first ones out they went
- 1:04:37hey this is really good have more money make it bigger because that's the one
- 1:04:42thing like even though there was a lot of places everything was still quite
- 1:04:45small yeah yeah I know what you mean it's like you go to a planet and you go
- 1:04:51hey you can get do this little tiny town and that's there was one planet that was
- 1:04:56quite large the one where you went outside and wanted around but yeah other
- 1:05:00than that yeah it was very contained so yeah we'll wait and see what the second
- 1:05:05one is but probably a few years away from it yeah but we'll have Starfield to
- 1:05:09Titus over till then oh yeah when's that come out November or September something
- 1:05:14comes out soon what comes out soon I can't remember I saw something Star
- 1:05:21Wars oh yeah that's it yeah you know Survivor comes out next week Starfield
- 1:05:26uh September 6 uh Redfield Redfield Red Burn red red something comes out the
- 1:05:31vampire one redf from Arcane yeah I don't think I care about that no I like
- 1:05:37Arcane games but I don't think I'll play it for five minutes cuz it's on Game
- 1:05:41Pass but yeah free game why not oh I
- 1:05:45started playing um Assassin's Creed Origins just a little bit I don't know
- 1:05:50why I don't know what compelled me to do that I just popped it on and uh so far I
- 1:05:55really like it so is that the egyan one isn't it yeah I was like oh this is
- 1:06:01interesting cuz I really loved Odyssey and um yeah Valhalla I did enjoy
- 1:06:07a lot but then I have not felt compelled to go back to it I liked Odyssey more
- 1:06:13and playing Origins it seems feels more like Odyssey does but actually kind of
- 1:06:19simpler than Odyssey which is actually for me pretty good at the moment I don't
- 1:06:24I prefer it to be simpler origin I didn't mind but that
- 1:06:29was the first big change when they changed the style a lot and I feel
- 1:06:35Odyssey is where they sort of perfected it and origin was yeah still good game
- 1:06:42still enjoyed it yeah yeah no so far I'm enjoying it's interesting it's different
- 1:06:46setting uh I haven't played a lot of games you know set during ancient Egypt
- 1:06:49so if any just uh was uh and any do you
- 1:06:54get to go and explore the pyramids oh do you that's see that's cool there's uh
- 1:06:59what's the um you get to climb on the Sphinx's nose do you that's all right
- 1:07:04yep yeah all right see I got to play this more now seems pretty good yeah
- 1:07:09just make sure to throw it on the easiest setting and the way you go
- 1:07:11that's what I did get to ride a camel mhm maybe I should go back and
- 1:07:16play it maybe you should oh goodz oh that's something cuz yeah and if you
- 1:07:21want now you can go back basically play any Ubisoft game you want now
- 1:07:26but don't you have to pay for that with that stupid thing yep and it's stupidly
- 1:07:31expensive it's more expensive than Game Pass why would I why would iive than
- 1:07:34Game Pass and so yeah Ubisoft plus came out on the Xbox it's more expensive than
- 1:07:40Game Pass and I think the stupid thing they did is they didn't release it with
- 1:07:44like a here's a new game or anything it's just here's our back catalog games
- 1:07:50you already play the thing is Ubisoft games
- 1:07:56I'm so behind on them I do like them I like Ubisoft games but I don't need them
- 1:08:00on day one and they're always really cheap later so like there's no way I'm
- 1:08:05going to pay for this like I paid I think like 40 bucks for
- 1:08:11Assassin's Creed [ __ ] everything I've got like pretty much all of them and
- 1:08:16they were all like five 10 bucks each like why would I subscribe to this thing
- 1:08:21yeah I just I don't see the value value in it yeah I think I think the pricing is
- 1:08:28stupid yeah well and especially the feedback online appears to think the
- 1:08:33same too so I'd be surprised if they don't change it yeah yeah oops Yeah no
- 1:08:38the the pricing is very expensive the there's no new games it's just back
- 1:08:43catalog but people yeah people already own them or they've played them so why
- 1:08:46are you going to yeah yeah that's right Rush yeah there's no compelling thing
- 1:08:52where it's like oh I didn't already have all these games no we we've played them
- 1:08:57if we wanted to play them at this point we played them no the smart thing to do
- 1:09:01if doing this at this price would have been to relas new Assassin's Creed he's
- 1:09:05a new Assassin's Creed and here's Ubisoft plus yeah what people should have just put me
- 1:09:11in marketing I'd be great at it we've got some marketing news it's an update
- 1:09:16on some stuff we talked about last week it's coming up in the Afterparty if you
- 1:09:21want to hear it yes head to patreon.com multip nerdgasm 10 bucks a month uh you
- 1:09:26can hear us continue talking where we're going to do some followup on uh anheiser
- 1:09:33Bush AKA Bud Light controversy some yeah now some new stuff
- 1:09:40came out this week and I'm [ __ ] annoyed at most uh most online press
- 1:09:47because I feel like they really did a bad job of explaining this [ __ ]
- 1:09:52situation all right well yeah join us over there and find out what that is cuz
- 1:09:56I don't even know yet well I will explain it to you we find out together
- 1:10:02everyone's getting upset over nothing that's all for this week thank you for
- 1:10:07listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please
- 1:10:12subscribe and item to receive episodes
- 1:10:15automatically we'll see you next time
