- 0:02Speaker 1: Because Fuck You That's Why is a founding member of
- 0:04Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Hello, ladies, gentlemen, lads, legends, and everywhere in between. Welcome
- 0:43Speaker 2: to episode three eight of bfyt W Because Fuck You
- 0:50Speaker 2: That's Why. Nothing personal. We are a panel show inspired podcast.
- 0:55Speaker 2: We play silly games and have a lot of fun
- 0:56Speaker 2: doing it, and we are back in studio.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Baby in the studio feels so much better.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It feels so good just to be in this room,
- 1:09Speaker 2: let alone, to have an actual, like professional microphone rather
- 1:14Speaker 2: than our standard zoom situation that we've been rocking for
- 1:17Speaker 2: the past month.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Sorry, sorry, it's not ideal. It's not ideal, but.
- 1:22Speaker 2: At the same time, it's kind of perfect. Yeah, I'm
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm so glad we're here doing the thing, back in
- 1:29Speaker 2: the studio once again with my boys. Even though two
- 1:33Speaker 2: of us are a little under the weather, just inches
- 1:37Speaker 2: or so, just a little bit. We're both a little stuffed,
- 1:39Speaker 2: so you might. Aggie's literally stuff.
- 1:44Speaker 3: You can't talk.
- 1:45Speaker 4: No, I can't. That's different, non sexual.
- 1:54Speaker 3: God being weird, weird.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So I have a question very much related, and I
- 2:01Speaker 2: feel like this question is are gonna be our introductory
- 2:04Speaker 2: question like I always do an introductory question when I'm
- 2:06Speaker 2: introducing my peeps, but this one is is one I
- 2:10Speaker 2: think we might have tackled before, but I want to
- 2:13Speaker 2: cover it anyway because it's important to me at least,
- 2:16Speaker 2: and it was inspired by something very specific. So uh,
- 2:19Speaker 2: we'll start with our introductions. He's a gamer and a storyteller.
- 2:22Speaker 2: He used to be my youngest friend. Now he's Aggie
- 2:25Speaker 2: hit it. He's a game.
- 2:35Speaker 4: He once was my youngest friend.
- 2:51Speaker 2: He once was my youngest friend, but now he's more.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Now he's me. Good lady, sir, how do you be?
- 3:02Speaker 5: I'd be good.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Apologies for misspeaking. I don't What is your favorite ending
- 3:16Speaker 2: to something?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Shit? Oh you fuck her?
- 3:22Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:22Speaker 2: What is your favorite ending to something? Could be? Could
- 3:27Speaker 2: be could be literal, a real ending of something that's awful,
- 3:31Speaker 2: that's ended and you're happy it's done. Could be an
- 3:34Speaker 2: ending to a movie, video game, book, TV show. Just
- 3:38Speaker 2: what is your favorite ending?
- 3:40Speaker 4: There's a specific TV show that comes to mind, but
- 3:42Speaker 4: I don't want to steal it in case it's Stevie's.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Oh shit, it's not, I doubt it. Okay, then I'm
- 3:48Speaker 4: taking it. I thought what we do in the Shadows
- 3:52Speaker 4: ended perfectly fine, Yeah, actually really good.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I enjoyed the ship out of the series. We watched
- 3:59Speaker 4: through it for only recently, and it's a shame that
- 4:02Speaker 4: they had to end it when when they did, But
- 4:04Speaker 4: also I feel like they really did a good job
- 4:07Speaker 4: ending it. It didn't feel like usually a lot of
- 4:09Speaker 4: shows when they end, especially when they have to do
- 4:11Speaker 4: so abruptly, there's always some loose ends here and there
- 4:15Speaker 4: that don't quite get wrapped up, and you're kind of like,
- 4:18Speaker 4: I wish they kind of finished that here. It's there
- 4:21Speaker 4: might be a couple, but the main ones are all
- 4:24Speaker 4: like there's no doubt, like left, which I thought was great,
- 4:28Speaker 4: and I thought they I thought it was really great.
- 4:30Speaker 4: They had fun with it too, like real awesome.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Ever said, that is a showing I needed to watch
- 4:36Speaker 2: for a long time and have just never got.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Don't tell you because the ending is insane.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Don't tell me. I don't want to know. It's good.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I look forward to checking it out knowing that it's
- 4:48Speaker 2: going to have a fantastic getting.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Oh my god, it's solid from beginning to end.
- 4:52Speaker 2: All right in that case, Thank you, Ogi, and we
- 4:54Speaker 2: move on. He's a veteran and a podcaster and by
- 4:57Speaker 2: International Law, a veteran podcast. It's Stevie.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I'm legal.
- 5:08Speaker 2: For the first time anywhere. Stevie is legal.
- 5:12Speaker 5: I am not suspect.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Guys.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Still, he's still on the suspect list, but.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I got there.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Hey, little status, Little status man went to like forty
- 5:21Speaker 1: some years.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's all good.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Stevie, my main man, my brother. What is your favorite ending?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Do you have a favorite?
- 5:30Speaker 1: As Aggie's was fantastic. I didn't want to say mine
- 5:35Speaker 1: because if I do, all go into detail and it'll
- 5:37Speaker 1: spoil that one. So I'm gonna switch it up to
- 5:40Speaker 1: a video game one that I just pulled from my
- 5:43Speaker 1: butt real quick. But I think it was hilarious because
- 5:46Speaker 1: we got to experience it together and it was the
- 5:49Speaker 1: Bionic Commando ending good which I just bought that.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Game on Steve yeah, yesterday.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Now hang on, You've got to be real clear about this.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Which one are you talking about?
- 6:02Speaker 1: The the graphical one where the rocket goes through and
- 6:06Speaker 1: the guy how old is this game?
- 6:09Speaker 3: I can spoil this?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Okay, yeah? Are you talking about buying a Commando ny S?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:13Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah. One of the best, that one of
- 6:18Speaker 2: the best endings for a Nintendo game ever. Like any
- 6:21Speaker 2: of the I think it might be the best any
- 6:24Speaker 2: S game period. It's so old that honestly despoiling it
- 6:28Speaker 2: is not a thing. Yeah somebody, right now, somebody, and
- 6:34Speaker 2: they're not taking the piss. Then I don't.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Believe we give them a Patreon upgrade for.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I literally deny either comments.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Never you who, But yes, I love that fucking ending.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it is legitimately probably the best any S.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Just just a fantastic climax, a fantastic final boss and
- 7:05Speaker 2: an escape sequence that's seriously anxiety and doing for sixty
- 7:10Speaker 2: seconds so good, and then like does anything I say
- 7:16Speaker 2: is gonna just just gonna make it worse? But then
- 7:19Speaker 2: the ending afterwards is just after So it's fantastic. The
- 7:24Speaker 2: the the remake, which is Buying a Commando re Armed,
- 7:28Speaker 2: is almost as good.
- 7:29Speaker 3: It's pretty good. It's very almost as good.
- 7:33Speaker 2: But anyway, yeah, no, good call, good call, thank you,
- 7:37Speaker 2: And I'm your point, no damn it, and i'm your
- 7:40Speaker 2: host pantsels erin some stones for.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Never get tired of that. It's all, never get tired
- 8:01Speaker 2: of that awesome, So thank you. This all came about
- 8:08Speaker 2: because I just watch for almost no reason, just in
- 8:13Speaker 2: the middle of the work day, in the middle of lunch,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I think I think I'd watched an episode of Dealer
- 8:17Speaker 2: No Deal UK, and I still had like ten or
- 8:19Speaker 2: fifteen minutes left of lunchtime, and I didn't know what
- 8:22Speaker 2: to watch. I usually just go to a random YouTube video,
- 8:25Speaker 2: but for whatever reason, this time, I pulled up I
- 8:29Speaker 2: pulled up my media server pants flicks, oh yeah, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: I loaded up Who Framed Roger Rapp, which I've talked
- 8:38Speaker 2: about on this podcast before as having probably one of
- 8:41Speaker 2: the best climaxes to a movie ever, like that, And
- 8:44Speaker 2: the more I think about it, the better it gets.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Like is it is a good twenty to twenty five
- 8:50Speaker 2: minutes long from the time the good guy starts acting
- 8:54Speaker 2: to the time that everything's completely resolved. It is a
- 8:58Speaker 2: very long climate. There is a lot going on. It
- 9:02Speaker 2: goes on for a long time.
- 9:04Speaker 1: It is.
- 9:06Speaker 2: It is very long, but it never loses you because
- 9:10Speaker 2: it keeps turning and things. Yeah, yeah, it's it's wild,
- 9:16Speaker 2: like everything operates on cartoon logic, and that's why you
- 9:20Speaker 2: buy it, because you've been watching this thing the whole
- 9:23Speaker 2: time up until this point. But to you to actually
- 9:26Speaker 2: create an action climax utilizing cartoon logic was brilliant. The
- 9:33Speaker 2: villain dies to their own creation.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Like which is fucking masterpiece, Which is fantastic, And when
- 9:40Speaker 1: you think it's over, it's not.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Like oh my god, like everything every like this.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Is an insanely exciting and like, uh, it's it's just
- 9:53Speaker 2: a fantastic climate. It's one of my favorite and I
- 9:55Speaker 2: love talking about it because I love that movie and
- 9:57Speaker 2: I love all the actors in it. Bob ha Skins
- 10:00Speaker 2: kicked the ship out of that role. He completely demolished it.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I heard a rumor that may or may not be
- 10:07Speaker 2: true that he actually suffered hallucinations for some time afterwards
- 10:11Speaker 2: because he'd spent so long talking to things that weren't there.
- 10:14Speaker 2: This feels like the kind of thing the Internet would
- 10:16Speaker 2: make up, so I'm not taking it as fact, but
- 10:18Speaker 2: if it is that, I just have to salute that man.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Whoever played Roger actually went in dressed up as in character.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Charles Fleish, thank you. Yeah. And he did an
- 10:31Speaker 2: amazing job as Roger Rabbit. Christopher Lloyd such an incredible
- 10:39Speaker 2: turn as the villain. It is human. Oh yeah, I
- 10:46Speaker 2: had nightmares watching it. I was eight or nine when
- 10:49Speaker 2: that movie came out, I had nightmares, but I still
- 10:53Speaker 2: loved it, and I would go back and watch that
- 10:55Speaker 2: movie over and over again because it was so good. Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Him playing in his human form, uh uh, he's he's villainous,
- 11:06Speaker 2: but he's also.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Slightly off right, he's so yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 4: He's he's inhuman, very cartoonishly off.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Well, no, that's the thing. He doesn't play it cartoonist.
- 11:17Speaker 4: No, too straight, he almost too straight.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah he is. He is literally playing it like
- 11:24Speaker 2: like he's.
- 11:26Speaker 4: He's playing the straight man among muppets face.
- 11:28Speaker 2: He's a too, trying to be as human as possible,
- 11:32Speaker 2: and he's nailing that, like Christoph Lloyd nailed that incredibly
- 11:36Speaker 2: well and is so creepy. And when in the end,
- 11:39Speaker 2: when he's revealed to be what he is, like he
- 11:42Speaker 2: just goes completely over and like beyond villainous into something unexplainable.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Like it was so good, so good. Everything about that
- 11:52Speaker 2: movie is fantastic. But the climax is one of my
- 11:55Speaker 2: favorite endings to anything ever.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Fuck yeah, it's so Bob's machis.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I think directed movie. He also did Back to the Future,
- 12:01Speaker 2: which also has an incredible climax, But I think I
- 12:05Speaker 2: think we framed Roger Rabbit as a as a like
- 12:08Speaker 2: as a piece of art. That climax is incredible. Like,
- 12:12Speaker 2: I feel like that should be studied in movie schools.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It should legitimately be film anyway. Sorry, I mean it
- 12:20Speaker 2: should be taught in film schools. But let's get onto
- 12:23Speaker 2: our game, shall we.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Let's have some part.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So we've got three silly games. We're gonna start with
- 12:30Speaker 2: game one, which is like share block. I have three
- 12:33Speaker 2: news stories here. All our players have to do is
- 12:35Speaker 2: tell me which one I would like, which one I
- 12:37Speaker 2: would share, and which one I would block on social media.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Whoever successfully manages to get the correct combination or comes closest,
- 12:43Speaker 2: will win the game and get one episode point. Our
- 12:47Speaker 2: first story, pervert stealing underwear from children's school caught, turns
- 12:52Speaker 2: out to be a cat. It takes a special kind
- 12:57Speaker 2: of criminal to steal from an elementary school, but the
- 13:02Speaker 2: whole thing takes a completely other turn towards the slightly sinister,
- 13:07Speaker 2: thank God, when the thief is stealing the students underwear,
- 13:12Speaker 2: so authorities took notice and started They scoured their cameras
- 13:17Speaker 2: to try and catch the thief, but the thief somehow
- 13:20Speaker 2: eluded the cameras every time. However, for more than a year,
- 13:26Speaker 2: this thief somebody had been sneaking into the pool of
- 13:29Speaker 2: this school in New Zealand. Underwear, towels, other things would disappear.
- 13:33Speaker 2: The staff would find them discarded somewhere else on the
- 13:36Speaker 2: school grounds, but no explanation. Again, never saw the thief
- 13:40Speaker 2: on camera. However, they did eventually install new cameras and
- 13:45Speaker 2: finally the cameras caught the pervert. It was a black
- 13:48Speaker 2: cat that the school staff was able to follow via
- 13:51Speaker 2: the cameras to a nearby private home. Now, the cat's
- 13:55Speaker 2: owners have apologized profusely. They had no idea that they're
- 14:00Speaker 2: cat was doing any of this, right, but they asked
- 14:03Speaker 2: the school not to name and shame their kiddy, Right,
- 14:06Speaker 2: that's fair. So now the school has decided to name
- 14:10Speaker 2: the criminal Slinky Malinky.
- 14:13Speaker 3: A fake name. I'm hoping.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it's a fake name. Okay, if they
- 14:19Speaker 2: called them Slinky Malinky in their in.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Their home, what do you think I'm stealing these His owners.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Kind of kind of turn him into what he is.
- 14:29Speaker 5: I call this panty steel.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Fantastic, so does it. The teachers are using the experience
- 14:45Speaker 2: to teach kids to keep their personal property safe and secure.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Which is a good us a lesson.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Sadly, in the world we live in today, you don't
- 14:54Speaker 1: know whose cats in the combinant ship, so.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Lock your stuff.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Cats are cats are fucking asshole.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Mischievous except for ours. If you guys are listening, we
- 15:04Speaker 3: love you and please don't hurt us. I'll feed you
- 15:06Speaker 3: extra food tonight, I promise I love them.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know your cats are great.
- 15:13Speaker 3: They would never.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Stop making that episode three ten our way maybe not got.
- 15:19Speaker 3: To find new stoners.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Oh man, where am I going to replace these fools?
- 15:25Speaker 3: That would be so difficult.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Fiber ain't nobody on fiber can do what you do. Stevie,
- 15:36Speaker 2: don't don't give me that acstatic all right? Oh no,
- 15:44Speaker 2: I look over Doggie. Don't say a thing. Wow, watch
- 15:49Speaker 2: your step.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Wow, I see how it is.
- 15:53Speaker 5: That's what I get for being third player.
- 15:55Speaker 2: No, no, no, we are not being mean to Oggy
- 16:00Speaker 2: is irreplaceable. We couldn't do this with that.
- 16:02Speaker 3: There's no fucking way, no fucking way.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Our joke's lanceo soft for his hit you right in
- 16:06Speaker 1: the fucking face. Oh my god, I was trying not
- 16:09Speaker 1: to swear this episode damn it.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I was doing so well, Loggy.
- 16:12Speaker 2: The joke sniper. Don't worry about it.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Oh man, I'm sorry. Guys, if you want to believe it,
- 16:17Speaker 3: go ahead, any of that.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Let's move on to story number two.
- 16:22Speaker 5: So fucking disappointed in you?
- 16:25Speaker 2: Uh? Story number two. Tom Felton gets unexpected fame as
- 16:29Speaker 2: Draco Malfoy, the villain he played in the Harry Potter movies,
- 16:33Speaker 2: becomes China's New Year's mascot.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I heard what wait wait, wait, wait minute. They get
- 16:41Speaker 3: mascots every year.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I don't know about that, but what I can tell
- 16:44Speaker 2: you is that whenever drink, whenever Draco shows up in
- 16:50Speaker 2: Harry Potter, you know, Harry's in for a bit of trouble, right, Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 2: so Harry, however, in China, what the fuck? And in China, however,
- 16:58Speaker 2: he has turned into a bizarre symbol of good luck.
- 17:02Speaker 2: China is preparing for the lunar New Year, known as
- 17:05Speaker 2: the Chinese Yeah okay, and they're attaching, you know, decorations
- 17:10Speaker 2: all over the place, from homes to private buildings. And
- 17:13Speaker 2: this year, many of those decorations have the smirking face
- 17:17Speaker 2: of one Draco Malfoy. He's an evil unpleasant, if not
- 17:24Speaker 2: downright pible wizard. He is apparently now a symbol of
- 17:30Speaker 2: prosperity for the coming year, and the wealth of his
- 17:35Speaker 2: family has nothing to do with it. It's about his name.
- 17:38Speaker 2: The way Malfoy is rendered in Chinese characters turns his
- 17:42Speaker 2: last name into I believe it's horse bringing fortune.
- 17:50Speaker 3: He's a lucky horse.
- 17:51Speaker 2: When transliterated in Latin alphabet, it becomes mah er fu.
- 17:56Speaker 2: And this just triggers the Chinese pension for wordplay to
- 18:00Speaker 2: mean horse bringing fortune, and horse happens to be the
- 18:06Speaker 2: upcoming year, the year of the Horse, and the Chinese
- 18:09Speaker 2: calendar so huh, so bye. By plastering pictures of Tom
- 18:14Speaker 2: Felton everywhere in China, Chinese people are hoping that the
- 18:19Speaker 2: year of the Horse will bring them good fortune.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I mean, if I was him, I would so be
- 18:25Speaker 1: over there right now soaking up all of that love.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And that's not it.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Okay, they're not going to do that. They're gonna ca
- 18:34Speaker 3: that's not all.
- 18:34Speaker 2: That's not the only life that makes them think this
- 18:37Speaker 2: is a great choice. Because Draco Malfoy.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Was born on the year of No You're Sam this
- 18:42Speaker 3: is two Coincidentally, he.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Belongs to how Slytherin, whose symbol is a snake. Last
- 18:50Speaker 2: year was the year of the Snake. It's legit. Tom
- 18:56Speaker 2: Felton's picture is now everywhere because as the zodiac wheel
- 19:01Speaker 2: moves from snake to horse, and his name meaning horse
- 19:04Speaker 2: bringing fortune, it is a symbolic link.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I mean maybe it is.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And I believe there's only twelve of these. I believe
- 19:11Speaker 2: there's only twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac, so we
- 19:13Speaker 2: can expect to see him come back in twelve years time.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I think, yeah, what are you gonna bring this time?
- 19:22Speaker 2: I assume more fortunefully good one. But yeah, the Harry
- 19:27Speaker 2: Potter movie, the Harry Potter franchise has sold well enough
- 19:30Speaker 2: in China that pretty much everybody knows, or you know,
- 19:34Speaker 2: most people would know.
- 19:35Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, no, no, that's fair though, I mean
- 19:38Speaker 3: that's you.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Guys look more confused than amusing.
- 19:41Speaker 3: No, I understand it.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I'm just trying to parse this.
- 19:44Speaker 3: No, no, I get it.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I may be just like writing out a conspiracy in
- 19:49Speaker 4: real time.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Oh, because we're not playing tinfoil hat today, I know.
- 19:54Speaker 2: But just there's a couple of dots. I'm just saying.
- 19:59Speaker 3: A couple of say for the Break.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, fair enough with some string.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I think it's kind of cool though, like because what
- 20:07Speaker 1: if it is true? Like we're stupid like Americans, so like,
- 20:11Speaker 1: what if this is a song like that?
- 20:12Speaker 3: Actually?
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we've only been around, what two hundred
- 20:15Speaker 1: and fifty years. They've been around, you know, thousands. I'm
- 20:22Speaker 1: just saying they might know something we don't. It might
- 20:25Speaker 1: be onto something, So maybe we should get us on Alfoy.
- 20:28Speaker 5: I think Stevie just got added to the conspiracy.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Fuck he figured it out.
- 20:34Speaker 2: All right, that's enough story too serious. Time for story three.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Pretend tea party proves apes can have human like imaginations. So,
- 20:46Speaker 2: you know, in a really famous scene from Alice in Wonderland,
- 20:50Speaker 2: Alice attends the Mad Hatters tea party. Yeah, it's it's
- 20:54Speaker 2: a it's an example of the kind of surreal imagination
- 20:58Speaker 2: that only humans are capable of, or so we thought.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Now reachers are finding out that apes have active imaginations too,
- 21:05Speaker 2: and they did that by having an Alice like tea party.
- 21:10Speaker 2: The star of this particular research project was Kanzi or Kanzi,
- 21:15Speaker 2: a Bonobo who demonstrated an ability to understand human language
- 21:21Speaker 2: and other abstract concepts. Considering his impressive mental faculties, the
- 21:27Speaker 2: scientists decided to find out if Kanzi could or would
- 21:32Speaker 2: play pretend, which is apparently something you do.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 2: To gauge this, they organized a pretend tea party just
- 21:41Speaker 2: like little kids. They poured both real and imaginary drinks
- 21:46Speaker 2: into little cups, while also placing invisible pretend snacks into jars,
- 21:50Speaker 2: and Kanzi played along, correctly choosing the dishes containing the
- 21:55Speaker 2: pretend food most of the time, and according to researchers,
- 22:00Speaker 2: that may indicate that there is some human like imagination
- 22:04Speaker 2: in their ape minds. On the other hand, critics are
- 22:08Speaker 2: saying that Conzie has dealt with humans so often that
- 22:13Speaker 2: they're simply reacting to pattern recognition as opposed to like
- 22:18Speaker 2: imagining that there's food or drinking those things.
- 22:21Speaker 3: This is what they're doing.
- 22:22Speaker 5: That's sure to be a second case study.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Of it, like mimicry.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, that's That's what they're basically arguing, is they're
- 22:31Speaker 4: not sure if this is behavior in terms of like
- 22:34Speaker 4: they do this because they can or have the imagination
- 22:38Speaker 4: to do so, or they're just doing mimicry because that's
- 22:41Speaker 4: what their handlers are doing.
- 22:43Speaker 3: It makes sense. I think it's kind of cool.
- 22:47Speaker 5: I mean, another case of this happening which just needs
- 22:52Speaker 5: to be observed.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Which aren't Primates also able to create their own tools
- 22:56Speaker 1: and ship. They're on their own without us, like they
- 23:00Speaker 1: the wild. They're able to create their own Yeah, so
- 23:02Speaker 1: they have the imagination.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Very incredibly crude tools.
- 23:06Speaker 1: But still to be able to put that together in
- 23:08Speaker 1: your mind, like hey if I put this together or yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 1: like it together, you also have to weapon.
- 23:15Speaker 4: But you also have to keep in mind too, the
- 23:18Speaker 4: same apes that are creating those tools are there also
- 23:20Speaker 4: the ones they're the same are probably being exposed to
- 23:23Speaker 4: humans who also use similar tools. They see them use those,
- 23:28Speaker 4: see what they.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Do with them, and then they just mimic.
- 23:31Speaker 3: It's yeah, it's it's.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Hard to tell because everything is fun.
- 23:35Speaker 3: There is no way to do it and closed. Yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 3: it would not for real.
- 23:38Speaker 4: It would have to be observed completely in a vacuum,
- 23:40Speaker 4: which I'm pretty sure I think it was.
- 23:42Speaker 5: So that case why I've already been solved.
- 23:44Speaker 1: But the right Yeah, no, that's fair, it's fair. Sorry,
- 23:47Speaker 1: we got like way into that. I'm curious about that
- 23:50Speaker 1: ship man.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I'm like, typically we go for comedy, but sometimes we
- 23:54Speaker 2: just we go science, because sometimes we just go science
- 23:57Speaker 2: and those animals because our people know ship. This is
- 24:00Speaker 2: why Augus's irreplaceable, because he knows shit and we don't.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Just talk like I do.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Hey, confidence is like ninety nine percent of talking to
- 24:08Speaker 1: people or some shit.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I don't know if that's the.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Language. Might be a good portion of it actually could be.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Well, let's play the game. So those are our three stories.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Perverts stealing underwear from children's school caught turns out to
- 24:26Speaker 2: be a cat. Story number two, Tom Felton gets unexpected
- 24:30Speaker 2: fame as Draco Malfoy becomes Chinese mascot. Or story number three,
- 24:34Speaker 2: pretend tea party proves apes can have human like imaginations.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Oh man, this is difficult.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Which one of these three did I like? Which one
- 24:44Speaker 2: did I share? And which one did I block? Now
- 24:46Speaker 2: I believe if I recalled it, Stevie won the last episode.
- 24:51Speaker 2: So Augie, you're gonna get to go first.
- 24:53Speaker 5: Okay, what do you think?
- 24:56Speaker 3: Don't fuck up?
- 24:56Speaker 4: Well, I think that you liked the idea that an
- 25:03Speaker 4: ape might share similar enough similar behaviors between us and them.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I believe you shared the cat thief just because it's
- 25:13Speaker 4: it is funny, and it is an interesting lesson of
- 25:18Speaker 4: locking your shit up and blocked the mascot because it's
- 25:23Speaker 4: just it's just the thing, whether they're using somebody's likeness
- 25:27Speaker 4: for basically.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 25:30Speaker 5: I mean, there's no harm in it. But I doubt
- 25:33Speaker 5: he's getting anything for it.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Yeah, if anyone is, it's probably jk Rowling, which is
- 25:39Speaker 2: even more upsetting.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Who you gonna sue China?
- 25:44Speaker 2: Yeah? Right, oh you know what it is China. So yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 2: they're probably not. Don't give a shit about copyright now,
- 25:50Speaker 2: they don't give a fuck. Fuck you, jk Ain't getting shit. Listen,
- 25:57Speaker 2: I see this silver lining. That's all nice.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I like that.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Okay, so, uh do you say, like a share cat thief,
- 26:08Speaker 2: sharekat block the mascot? Okay, okay, cool, Stevie. You can
- 26:14Speaker 2: keep one of those, or you can switch two of them.
- 26:19Speaker 3: I can't take what all you you cannot take what? Okay,
- 26:22Speaker 3: that's I guess fair.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You can keep one and switch the other two or
- 26:25Speaker 2: go entirely your own way, but you cannot.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I think I'm going with liking the cat thief. We're
- 26:35Speaker 1: gonna block the same thing, like Augie said, the horse
- 26:39Speaker 1: melfoy and then we're gonnna share the the primate tea
- 26:45Speaker 1: party okay, Yeah, which got me to thinking, I'm gonna
- 26:48Speaker 1: watch Alison Waterland. I haven't seen that in a while,
- 26:51Speaker 1: the animated one.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it was a good movie. Man started at
- 26:55Speaker 3: Wallers Ship that was fucking freaky. Everything else that was
- 26:58Speaker 3: cool with.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Well, in that case, the point goes to Stevie, what
- 27:05Speaker 2: got it? Exactly serious? Oie had my leg and my
- 27:09Speaker 2: share switched. The only reason that I shared the tea
- 27:13Speaker 2: party rather than the the other story was because pervert
- 27:18Speaker 2: turns out to be cat was a little bit more
- 27:20Speaker 2: upsetting like it had had it had it had a
- 27:24Speaker 2: sinister possibility. It could have could have been could have
- 27:29Speaker 2: been a cat, and that would have been real. It was.
- 27:31Speaker 2: It was a nice thing, But this isn't the kind
- 27:33Speaker 2: of story that I would share on my social media
- 27:36Speaker 2: just for that reason. Whereas the tea party thing is
- 27:38Speaker 2: actually kind of cool, the Draco Malfoy Shitty's mascot thing
- 27:43Speaker 2: is interesting, but otherwise it's kind of a non story. Yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Just I like Tom Felton, I really do. He seems
- 27:49Speaker 2: like a stand up dude.
- 27:49Speaker 4: He's actually a good Yeah, but but I don't just
- 27:53Speaker 4: plays a really good villain.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, which is great.
- 27:55Speaker 2: He played a really good villain when he was a kid.
- 27:57Speaker 3: I can't.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I can't imagine how much better he is it.
- 27:59Speaker 5: I think he does Broadway.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I would not be surprised. He's legitimately a talented dude.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I think he went on the col Beart or or
- 28:08Speaker 2: Kimmel on the night after one of them came out
- 28:12Speaker 2: to a show. So yeah, yeah, I think I saw that.
- 28:18Speaker 2: He's very cool dude. Everybody from those movies is, honestly so,
- 28:23Speaker 2: except for the bitch you wrote them.
- 28:26Speaker 1: So you're allowed to say that you're an author I can, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 1: I mean I get.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Once you write, once you write a book, you can
- 28:33Speaker 2: you can call another author a pitch. I think it's international.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I think you're allowed.
- 28:39Speaker 2: That is one point to Stevie. Augie is gonna have
- 28:41Speaker 2: plenty of chances to catch up. Game two is gonna
- 28:44Speaker 2: be worth two points. We're gonna play it when we
- 28:45Speaker 2: come back right after this mail bag mail bag getting
- 29:03Speaker 2: them letters. Hey, welcome to the mail bag. It's still
- 29:09Speaker 2: never not funny.
- 29:15Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 29:16Speaker 2: It's still one of the best things I've ever done.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Like, seriously, man like only like second of the two bucks,
- 29:23Speaker 1: like that, like be a flies below that.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Forth, Welcome to the mail bag. We're going to go
- 29:31Speaker 2: over some voicemails and er comments that we received from
- 29:34Speaker 2: y'all and just say hi, what's up? Starting with this
- 29:38Speaker 2: looks like a voicemail.
- 29:39Speaker 3: It is a voicemail.
- 29:40Speaker 2: What do we get?
- 29:41Speaker 3: It's from anonymous.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It's fifteen seconds long, so it's not very long.
- 29:44Speaker 3: No, but it's from anonymous and I'm scared. Guy.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, let's see the audio. What happen?
- 29:50Speaker 3: Okay?
- 29:50Speaker 2: He could also be Demon voice.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Oh god, I hope it's that Demon voice. If it is,
- 29:55Speaker 3: can you send a translator next time please? Or like
- 29:57Speaker 3: decort I used to get the crash bag bot.
- 30:00Speaker 5: Anyone think to play it backwards?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Oh shit, damn it.
- 30:04Speaker 3: I gotta find that and do it now.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I have to download it. Yeah, the check out around
- 30:09Speaker 2: and Audacity here we go, go for it. I just
- 30:12Speaker 2: want to give you a boys, a quick show, and
- 30:15Speaker 2: I think it is fantastic and I can't stand out more.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Is every day of the week. I could do a
- 30:21Speaker 3: daily podcast hearing you guys every day.
- 30:24Speaker 2: It is fantastic.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Thank you, Thank you.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Whoever that is I just delighted to hear that. That's
- 30:33Speaker 2: I wish we knew who you were.
- 30:34Speaker 4: The problem with the audio is too, is like even
- 30:36Speaker 4: if it's someone we know, we can't tell because sometimes
- 30:39Speaker 4: the audio is just just bad.
- 30:41Speaker 5: Doesn't make it through right, right, But.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you. I think next time I'll listen to
- 30:47Speaker 3: it and actually.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Like listen, listen, I can. It's all good.
- 30:55Speaker 3: I could do work. It's it's just fine.
- 30:57Speaker 2: It's designed to be just a simple thing that we
- 30:59Speaker 2: can do.
- 31:00Speaker 3: We got somebody wants to do a daily podcast with us.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I mean honestly, that is the goal. If we ever
- 31:04Speaker 2: did achieve like financial independence, you would one hundred percent
- 31:08Speaker 2: do this every day. Yeah, it does not take that
- 31:11Speaker 2: much work to do. And I would happily come to
- 31:13Speaker 2: this building every single do one of.
- 31:16Speaker 3: These because you get a real building.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yeah absolutely, I mean at that point we could probably
- 31:20Speaker 2: expand the studio. But I mean, as it is, it's
- 31:23Speaker 2: this is fit I would do. I would do it
- 31:27Speaker 2: every single day if I could.
- 31:28Speaker 3: It would be fun, just like to get together, like,
- 31:30Speaker 3: all right, what are we going to make fun of
- 31:32Speaker 3: this week? This day? Not this week? Jesus, it is
- 31:34Speaker 3: gonna be so weird to change everything.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Reading the news so hard because I mean, as it is,
- 31:39Speaker 2: I'm lucky to get three weird news stories a week.
- 31:42Speaker 2: To look for new stories every day is going to
- 31:44Speaker 2: be a bit more challenging.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Happened.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, come up to it.
- 31:48Speaker 2: We could probably start talking about just some celebrity ship.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Or something needs not even twenty four hours something, or
- 31:56Speaker 3: we could it was a week days.
- 31:58Speaker 2: We could do different game one. We can come up
- 32:00Speaker 2: with different games for game one suggest Yeah, who knows,
- 32:06Speaker 2: but we love the idea. Thank you so much for
- 32:08Speaker 2: loving us so much that we could do it every day,
- 32:10Speaker 2: and hopefully we get to that point at some point.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Let's freaking move on.
- 32:14Speaker 2: What do we got?
- 32:15Speaker 1: The next comment comes from our Patreon post of our
- 32:18Speaker 1: last week's episode three oh seven.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Math is our horror story. I want to give one
- 32:25Speaker 3: hundred percent props on the title of that. That is
- 32:29Speaker 3: an He just like said that, and I'm just like fantastic, Yo, dude,
- 32:33Speaker 3: your fucking genius. That's the title, all.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Right, And we got to comment from eight bit nothing
- 32:40Speaker 2: cleaner than a vacuum Wiener, good job you killed me.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I am now dead and I'm sure this isn't the
- 32:47Speaker 2: first time I died either. How does that even work?
- 32:51Speaker 5: Many away from murder?
- 32:53Speaker 2: He killed all of us. We're all so good. We're
- 32:56Speaker 2: all dead and redead, so it's so good. I completely understand.
- 33:01Speaker 2: It's right there, it's joke. Sniper strikes again.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Oh god, it's a little vacuum. It's so dumb. It
- 33:17Speaker 3: shouldn't be this funny, but it is.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Okay, so let's move on. Uh, we've got another comment,
- 33:25Speaker 2: this time on show three oh three. The worst timeline
- 33:28Speaker 2: gets worse. Oh yeah, but oh stevee aug one, you
- 33:34Speaker 2: guys want to read this one.
- 33:35Speaker 5: I can get this one from eight bit. We may
- 33:38Speaker 5: be living in the worst timeline, but as long as
- 33:40Speaker 5: there's b fy t W, it's not quite as.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Bad yet it get Oh sorry, that was I think
- 33:47Speaker 4: that was a period. Hey, it gives joy and comfort.
- 33:52Speaker 5: That's the truth. You're helping smile.
- 33:55Speaker 4: And yes, I'd love to play good Boy with all
- 33:57Speaker 4: of you.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah, hell yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 5: I been eyeballing it recently.
- 34:01Speaker 3: And like it's installed on my computer.
- 34:04Speaker 2: It's installed on my computer too.
- 34:05Speaker 4: I think, oh ship, it'll take me like two seconds.
- 34:09Speaker 2: It's not a very large game, so it won't take long.
- 34:11Speaker 2: To installed.
- 34:11Speaker 3: How do we get a hold of an eight bit before?
- 34:14Speaker 2: I mean, if you guys aren't friends with him, one, you.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Should, what the hell all have friends with I.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Am friends with on discord. I can easily. Let's do it.
- 34:25Speaker 1: We need Yeah, we need to do that this week.
- 34:26Speaker 1: That'd be fun as fuck. I'd be so down to
- 34:29Speaker 1: be there with him to play in that game. Holy ship,
- 34:32Speaker 1: and you you have.
- 34:33Speaker 2: To record it, put it up so that we can
- 34:36Speaker 2: give him some additional exposure so people can see this
- 34:40Speaker 2: game and and hopefully love it as much as we a.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I'm sure we will.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm excited. I really am excited.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Just looking at the trailer, I'm like, oh my god,
- 34:47Speaker 2: I looked.
- 34:48Speaker 3: At five seconds of it and stopped because I wanted
- 34:50Speaker 3: to be surprised. I did. I don't. I'm going to
- 34:53Speaker 3: go in with our.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Style of game, so yeah, I know we'll enjoy it.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm really excited to do this all right. Hell's yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 3: that's all for our bag of mail.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Okay, thank you very much, eight Bit, and thank you
- 35:06Speaker 2: to our mystery person who gave us the voicemail. We
- 35:08Speaker 2: really appreciate it, and we'll see you guys the next
- 35:11Speaker 2: mail bag. For now, it's back to the show.

- 35:41Speaker 6: proud members of the Odd Pods Media Network. Find them

- 35:47Speaker 6: We'll see at the movies.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Hey man, Welcome, It's time for Game two. Pop Culture
- 36:02Speaker 2: Fight Club.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Box it Out.
- 36:05Speaker 2: We've been playing this a lot recently.
- 36:07Speaker 3: It's just this is a lot of fun.
- 36:09Speaker 2: It's easy to set up. So this is a game
- 36:12Speaker 2: of answering a tough question and defending your position. I'm
- 36:15Speaker 2: gonna ask each player for the best something or their
- 36:18Speaker 2: favorite something from the world of pop culture, and they'll
- 36:21Speaker 2: have to explain and defend themselves as best they can.
- 36:24Speaker 2: The best answer, as judged by me after their defense
- 36:27Speaker 2: will get two episode points. So, for this episode, when
- 36:31Speaker 2: the ships are down and your back's against the wall
- 36:34Speaker 2: and the villain is just about to achieve their awful goal,
- 36:37Speaker 2: what music do you want playing to inspire you to
- 36:41Speaker 2: pull victory from the jaws of defeat? In other words,
- 36:45Speaker 2: what is your favorite final boss song? What song plays
- 36:51Speaker 2: in the climactic battle of your movie? So I believe
- 36:57Speaker 2: this might be similar to a question we've posed before.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I think we do best boss music at some point.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I think I remember talking.
- 37:03Speaker 3: It sounds familiar, but but we're talking.
- 37:06Speaker 2: We're talking about final Boss. We're talking about the top tier,
- 37:10Speaker 2: the end of the road, the big show. This is it,
- 37:15Speaker 2: this is it, This is it music.
- 37:18Speaker 3: All right.
- 37:19Speaker 2: So let's start with Well, Stevie, you have the choice
- 37:23Speaker 2: or no, Stevie won last game. You have the choice.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Would you like to go first or would you like
- 37:28Speaker 2: to make Stevie go first?
- 37:30Speaker 5: Let Stevie go first this time?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Oh shit, Okay, all right, I think that might be
- 37:33Speaker 2: a wise choice. Stevie. What is your final boss music?
- 37:41Speaker 1: My final Boss music is actually from Ronnie of Falling
- 37:47Speaker 1: in Reverse. Uh, and it's the song it's called Prequel,
- 37:53Speaker 1: and pretty much it's about fighting tyranny and standing up
- 38:00Speaker 1: and stopping all the bullshit that's going on, stopping all
- 38:04Speaker 1: the evils in this world. Like, yeah, I'm gonna sacrifice
- 38:07Speaker 1: myself do everything I possibly can to save everybody else
- 38:11Speaker 1: if I have the ability.
- 38:12Speaker 3: To do so. So nothing's gonna fucking stop me from
- 38:16Speaker 3: accomplishing that. Nobody, No one's gonna fucking stop it. So
- 38:19Speaker 3: it's gonna fucking happen regardless, and you will be stopped.
- 38:23Speaker 3: So that that's all to me. It's a lot of.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Emotion, especially a lot of the current climate and shit
- 38:30Speaker 1: that's going on to like that also impacts it a lot.
- 38:33Speaker 1: And I've always been when I get into those modes
- 38:35Speaker 1: like I want a hardcore fucking like like hard metal
- 38:39Speaker 1: like doom music, which is what my original go to
- 38:43Speaker 1: would have been. And I didn't want to use the
- 38:45Speaker 1: crutch of doom again as I used used it last
- 38:47Speaker 1: week as well, but I think this is way more impactful,
- 38:51Speaker 1: especially now, and yeah, I really do well.
- 38:54Speaker 2: First of all, before we get into attacking your selection,
- 38:58Speaker 2: never feel like you can't turn to doom. If doom
- 39:02Speaker 2: is the right, if doom is the right answer. You should.
- 39:05Speaker 2: You should go right one hundred percent, and we will
- 39:08Speaker 2: never I personally will never look down on you for
- 39:10Speaker 2: going doom. I'll be like, hell, yeah, you're my boy.
- 39:14Speaker 3: But I think in the time, right now, right now.
- 39:17Speaker 3: But I understand, I.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Understand why you would say that, especially given the song's
- 39:24Speaker 2: motif and message. One hundred percent. I would say personally
- 39:32Speaker 2: on a personal level that lyrics in a final Boss
- 39:37Speaker 2: song turn me off. That's fair, But you have picked
- 39:42Speaker 2: a song that that very deliberately is mostly lyrics. I mean,
- 39:46Speaker 2: the music in the back is one hell of a
- 39:48Speaker 2: punching point, but but there is a lot to the
- 39:53Speaker 2: lyrics and the power in them in this song.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Exactly, and that that's where it comes from.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the music's a and it ramps you up and
- 40:01Speaker 1: get you ready for all the ship you have to
- 40:04Speaker 1: fucking go through just to survive and stuff. But the lyrics, man,
- 40:08Speaker 1: it's the words, it really is. The music is there
- 40:11Speaker 1: to help like push the fucking words.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Through, Augie.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Any criticisms not really, I mean, like, yeah, it's it's
- 40:22Speaker 2: it's good.
- 40:23Speaker 4: It's good music. It's very very definitely does amp you up.
- 40:27Speaker 2: It has and it has a very final boss vibe.
- 40:31Speaker 4: It does, it absolutely does, and yes it is. It
- 40:34Speaker 4: is definitely relevant. But I feel that if it wasn't relevant,
- 40:39Speaker 4: it might not be as impactful.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's they'd come out in two thousand and five
- 40:45Speaker 2: maybe because honestly, Camelot has songs like that.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, a lot of them, but none of.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Them hit as hard as that one did. Yeah, And
- 40:58Speaker 2: I think again there is something to the cultural relevance
- 41:01Speaker 2: and the time which is but was that But without
- 41:05Speaker 2: the cultural relevant it becomes somewhat less.
- 41:08Speaker 1: And when you have morals and shipping and all the
- 41:10Speaker 1: people's things are getting destroyed, it's kind of fucking frustrating.
- 41:14Speaker 1: He fought so fucking hard for over a decade to
- 41:17Speaker 1: keep everybody's right, just saying.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I know, brother, All right, well I think
- 41:26Speaker 2: that's I think I think Stevie's very eloquently defined himself.
- 41:30Speaker 2: We'll see how it goes when we turn to Augie,
- 41:34Speaker 2: uh and your choice. What is your climactic battle song?
- 41:41Speaker 5: Great mighty pooh, conckers bad for.
- 41:43Speaker 3: A day, amazing, you know.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Against two points poo man, Great mighty poo what a
- 41:53Speaker 2: fantastic bit and switch.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Good call, Good.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Call, my like actual answer, yeah, my angel answer, and
- 42:04Speaker 4: legitimately so is Proof of a Hero which is from
- 42:09Speaker 4: the Monster Hunter series. Unfortunately, don't have the name of
- 42:13Speaker 4: the actual orchestra that because it was done in multiple
- 42:17Speaker 4: different ways in different styles, so it might have been
- 42:19Speaker 4: different artists doing it at the time. But for those
- 42:23Speaker 4: who don't know, Monster Hunters a Capcom game where you
- 42:26Speaker 4: hunt monsters and that's it. But it's a really good
- 42:29Speaker 4: game with a lot of fun, and the monsters are
- 42:31Speaker 4: really cool, but sometimes you fight these big boss monsters
- 42:35Speaker 4: that could be quite menacing and really difficult, because it
- 42:39Speaker 4: is a quite difficult game, very Dark Souls esque in
- 42:43Speaker 4: terms of its difficulty and mechanically how it handles. But
- 42:47Speaker 4: it's also very satisfying as well, with a really satisfying
- 42:50Speaker 4: gameplay loop at the end. And this Proof of the
- 42:54Speaker 4: Hero song. Why I think it is the best final
- 42:58Speaker 4: stand music and why and why there is proof of
- 43:02Speaker 4: its being the best final standard music is because it
- 43:05Speaker 4: is just so orchestrally done. It just it's like the
- 43:11Speaker 4: turnabout and a like Basically it's like the the what's
- 43:15Speaker 4: the signaling of a turnabout? Essentially like you just got
- 43:18Speaker 4: your ass beat kind of situation like you proclam there
- 43:21Speaker 4: and now you're whooping ass right back. But now you're
- 43:25Speaker 4: not just like angrily whooping ass, you're like whooping like
- 43:32Speaker 4: concrete as in like you're doing it as in turning
- 43:36Speaker 4: it around kind of situation. It's one of those things
- 43:38Speaker 4: you have to kind of experience. And in the game
- 43:41Speaker 4: of Monster Hunter, while you're playing and you're fighting against
- 43:44Speaker 4: these bosses, a lot of the the boss's themes are
- 43:48Speaker 4: mixed in, especially towards their final phase, or mixed in
- 43:51Speaker 4: with proof of a hero. So that's playing for you
- 43:54Speaker 4: while you're actually fighting this thing and Situationally, I will
- 43:59Speaker 4: admit it and even be more impactful. Like for example,
- 44:03Speaker 4: Stevie has been playing along with me and Cyber playing
- 44:07Speaker 4: a game and we just fought a boss that had
- 44:10Speaker 4: that very situation where we were fighting it.
- 44:12Speaker 2: It was tough.
- 44:14Speaker 4: You have a three strike rule. If you get carted
- 44:17Speaker 4: three times, you failed the mission. You have to get
- 44:19Speaker 4: buff three. Yeah, that's the whole party each Yeah, for
- 44:24Speaker 4: the whole party. Excuse me, uh and uh yeah, and
- 44:29Speaker 4: him and Cyber already got carted once, so we were
- 44:31Speaker 4: already on our last life and we get all the
- 44:34Speaker 4: way to last to the last phase and that music
- 44:37Speaker 4: kicks in, and all of a sudden, it was like
- 44:39Speaker 4: it was like a attack bonus boof buff to yourself,
- 44:44Speaker 4: because all of a sudden, like we were playing like
- 44:46Speaker 4: shit and then like all of a sudden, we became
- 44:49Speaker 4: pros at the game. We were dodging shit, we weren't
- 44:51Speaker 4: able to dodge before, we were knocking this dude over
- 44:53Speaker 4: constantly and kicking his ass, and and the music really
- 44:56Speaker 4: helped set that in. Now, what it would have been
- 44:59Speaker 4: funny is we were to carded and then.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Fell in the middle of it, but that we dropped
- 45:03Speaker 1: them right away, so surprise, oh nos phases.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Yeah, and the mat and switch there was that was great.
- 45:10Speaker 4: But yeah, and and they do this in every iteration,
- 45:14Speaker 4: and I feel like it really amps you up, like
- 45:18Speaker 4: it physically makes you better at the game.
- 45:21Speaker 3: That's fair. That's fair. I like the timpany that's in it.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that far I don't know why, but
- 45:29Speaker 1: that far like makes me giggle every fucking time.
- 45:33Speaker 2: What would you say if I told you that I
- 45:37Speaker 2: found that song actually rather soft.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Rather soft?
- 45:41Speaker 5: There's actually multiple iterations of it.
- 45:45Speaker 4: That one particularly that I had you listen to was
- 45:48Speaker 4: from Rise from their base game. But if you were
- 45:50Speaker 4: to listen to say, the Gasmagorian version of it, you
- 45:54Speaker 4: would have found it way more hardcore because it's it
- 45:59Speaker 4: is the monsters thing even then waves into it. And
- 46:02Speaker 4: there's another so many others too. There was one that
- 46:04Speaker 4: I didn't show you, that I even mentioned that I
- 46:06Speaker 4: felt might have been that I thought was too soft.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Perhaps maybe this one might have been to the soft
- 46:12Speaker 4: one from the previous iteration, which was Mazarhonta World, but
- 46:16Speaker 4: that was more like orchestra and more uplifting than like
- 46:21Speaker 4: combat of or you turnabout. Yeah, but that also has
- 46:27Speaker 4: a final fight uh Fetalis, which whose theme then mixes
- 46:31Speaker 4: into it as well towards the end.
- 46:33Speaker 5: His final phase.
- 46:34Speaker 4: So yeah, I think it's it's based on the version
- 46:37Speaker 4: you hear. There's soft versions, but then there's hardcore, like
- 46:40Speaker 4: you're fighting this fucker version.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Okay, ye, fair enough, Okay, So cbe any criticisms you
- 46:51Speaker 2: would like to let me Aggie's way force him to
- 46:54Speaker 2: defend himself.
- 46:55Speaker 3: That got him addicted to a new game, a game
- 46:59Speaker 3: enough nfs.
- 47:00Speaker 4: I mean to be fair, he's really good at it,
- 47:02Speaker 4: really good at it.
- 47:03Speaker 3: I was kind of fucked up.
- 47:05Speaker 4: He beat master rank like the other night.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Oh like he beat it. Yeah, I mean getting.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Third person games weren't your thing, not.
- 47:12Speaker 4: At all, especially with the slowest combat.
- 47:14Speaker 1: This is yeah, and I'm able to do stupid stuff
- 47:17Speaker 1: I should not be able to do well. Were streaming
- 47:20Speaker 1: in the BFI lounge. If people want to watch, let
- 47:22Speaker 1: me know.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Getting More and More said that I never got into
- 47:25Speaker 2: this franchise because there's a number of friends but besides
- 47:29Speaker 2: you two who have invited me to join them in
- 47:31Speaker 2: months or Hunter games, and I've just been like, it
- 47:34Speaker 2: doesn't look.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Like it's not for everybody. It wasn't for me. They
- 47:37Speaker 3: got me into it because there's there's a gun and
- 47:39Speaker 3: I'm like, okay.
- 47:40Speaker 5: That's originally how it started.
- 47:41Speaker 3: And I'm like, there's fine, there's like fourteen plus.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Or yeah, over the course of all the games, there's
- 47:46Speaker 4: like fourteen plus different weapon types and so there's all
- 47:50Speaker 4: different types of styles and it's awesome.
- 47:52Speaker 3: And I enjoy it. And I do like the music.
- 47:55Speaker 2: We're talking about that.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I know it's actually so, I do like the music.
- 47:59Speaker 3: But yeah, I can't agree with you, but that's not
- 48:01Speaker 3: my critique on it. I don't know, Uh, I don't know.
- 48:06Speaker 1: I don't see that as I think they could have
- 48:11Speaker 1: just done more like I like that they threw everything,
- 48:14Speaker 1: like all the instrumentals into it. But yeah, it's impactful,
- 48:19Speaker 1: but it's a boss fight to me, not a main boss.
- 48:23Speaker 3: I don't know why, but I like, I.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Enjoyed the funk out of it. But when the man, now,
- 48:27Speaker 1: when the big one and when it when it combined
- 48:29Speaker 1: the two? Yeah, yeah, I figuring with that ship. Yeah
- 48:34Speaker 1: you felt like, yeah, it helped. It helped a lot
- 48:36Speaker 1: because oh.
- 48:38Speaker 2: God, yeah, I gotta show you it's insane, all right,
- 48:41Speaker 2: So I need to make a judgment. Yeah, and I
- 48:44Speaker 2: think on this occasion, I am awarding this win to Augie. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 48:53Speaker 2: this was This was difficult because both songs are excellent.
- 48:57Speaker 2: I'll briefly talk about what my choice would have been,
- 49:00Speaker 2: what the instant win answer would have been, but I
- 49:02Speaker 2: don't think anyone would have picked it. So if you
- 49:06Speaker 2: had asked me up until I think two years ago,
- 49:09Speaker 2: I would have told you Headhunter. Final Conflict is the
- 49:14Speaker 2: name of the song. It is five minutes long. It
- 49:18Speaker 2: is fully orchestral, and it tells a story like It
- 49:22Speaker 2: starts low and slow and you know, with evil dark tones,
- 49:27Speaker 2: and then the hero's theme starts creeping in and then
- 49:31Speaker 2: some more evil stuff and then back and forth. So
- 49:34Speaker 2: there is a there is a progression, there is a
- 49:37Speaker 2: story being told musically, okay, But I recently two years
- 49:42Speaker 2: ago or so, I played the game's Death End Request
- 49:45Speaker 2: and Death End Request two. I can't really recommend the
- 49:50Speaker 2: first one. It's not a very good game. It's it's
- 49:53Speaker 2: an okay game, and the stories I guess, all right.
- 49:57Speaker 2: But the second game was better, and I jayd the
- 50:00Speaker 2: second game quite a lot, and but the first game.
- 50:04Speaker 2: They have good music, both of them. Each of them
- 50:06Speaker 2: has a song that I would listen to gladly forever.
- 50:09Speaker 2: The song that I picked is called return to Me
- 50:13Speaker 2: uh and it is It is a It is again
- 50:16Speaker 2: an orchestral song. It does have a female vocalist, but
- 50:21Speaker 2: she's not saying words. If she is, she's saying Japanese
- 50:24Speaker 2: words that I don't understand. They just sound like syllables,
- 50:27Speaker 2: and they just they sound kind of like church songs.
- 50:30Speaker 2: When you would hear like a choir sing yeah, when
- 50:33Speaker 2: you weren't really gonna understand what those words were, it
- 50:37Speaker 2: would just be oho.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Same man.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, So.
- 50:44Speaker 3: So it has that offending anybody, I'm just saying it has.
- 50:47Speaker 2: It has that kind of additional stakes by way of
- 50:54Speaker 2: this uh this one. And it's one person, not a choir. Uh,
- 50:58Speaker 2: it's it's one voice. But the thing that I love
- 51:01Speaker 2: about this song, in addition to the fact that it
- 51:03Speaker 2: that it again tells the story, is the it's it's epic,
- 51:10Speaker 2: but it's also kind of tinged with sadness, like there's
- 51:14Speaker 2: more going on here, Like I imagine two sisters, one
- 51:19Speaker 2: of whom is like a king and one one of
- 51:21Speaker 2: whom is the queen, and the others like the leader
- 51:22Speaker 2: of the rebellion having an all out, drag out fight
- 51:26Speaker 2: to this song.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Uh.
- 51:28Speaker 2: And it just gets my motor w ret. I'm like,
- 51:31Speaker 2: oh my god, this song friggin' rules and it punches
- 51:36Speaker 2: my adrenaline up. So that's the reason why I'm going
- 51:39Speaker 2: with Augie on this occasion that both songs are epic.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Both songs are fucking epic. Prequel is going in my rotation.
- 51:47Speaker 2: That is an awesome song and it has a great message,
- 51:52Speaker 2: but it's also kind of built like a like a
- 51:57Speaker 2: normal song like that you would hear you're on the radio.
- 52:01Speaker 2: It has stanzas in verse, stanzas in verse and and
- 52:06Speaker 2: bridges and instead of where Augie's song really takes you
- 52:12Speaker 2: on a journey from start to finish, it is a
- 52:14Speaker 2: it is a story told in music again much like
- 52:18Speaker 2: much like Final Conflict from Headhunter or Return to Me
- 52:22Speaker 2: is and another fun thing that returned to Me in
- 52:24Speaker 2: Final Conflict. Both have in common. One of the reasons
- 52:27Speaker 2: I probably like them both so much is they both
- 52:29Speaker 2: have drum breaks where the rest of the organista drops out.
- 52:33Speaker 2: You just hear the drums. Ape shit for both of them,
- 52:36Speaker 2: because you guys heard Return to Me. I played that
- 52:38Speaker 2: for you. I didn't play Final Conflict for you because
- 52:40Speaker 2: it's five minutes long. But but yeah, they're they're both
- 52:46Speaker 2: suitably epic, one hundred percent. But I just liked that
- 52:49Speaker 2: Augie's song really takes you on this journey from and
- 52:52Speaker 2: it's so there's so many different layers to it. There
- 52:56Speaker 2: there's some of the glow like the world music. I
- 52:58Speaker 2: think I heard like either Chinese Japanese influence in there.
- 53:02Speaker 2: I think I heard some possibly some African influence at
- 53:06Speaker 2: some point, Like there was a lot of there was
- 53:09Speaker 2: there was there was a lot going on in that song,
- 53:13Speaker 2: and it's it's it's just as epic as as Stevie's
- 53:17Speaker 2: choice was, but it's it's more of a it's more
- 53:21Speaker 2: of it felt more like a story was being told
- 53:23Speaker 2: to me. Yeah, and that's why I would have gone
- 53:25Speaker 2: with that. I think. I think that's really important for
- 53:27Speaker 2: a final boss theme, Like, like, just like I was saying,
- 53:31Speaker 2: who framed Roger Rabbit? The music in that again also
- 53:35Speaker 2: suitably epic told. The story really helps sell that fucking climax.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Now I'm talking about Gibberish gets two points. Congratulations, he
- 53:46Speaker 2: is leading. He is leading two points to one. We
- 53:50Speaker 2: have one final game. It's gonna be Game three, and
- 53:52Speaker 2: that's gonna be where three points. We're gonna play it
- 53:55Speaker 2: right after this. Hey guys, are you passionate about prison platewear?
- 54:08Speaker 2: Then you should come watch on the linin with us,
- 54:11Speaker 2: where we watch a Golden Girls episode, play a little game,
- 54:14Speaker 2: and talk a little shit.
- 54:15Speaker 6: Part of the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for Game three. Game
- 54:31Speaker 2: three is called dumpster Fire. I've got five categories. Our
- 54:37Speaker 2: players are gonna take turns picking and choosing what about
- 54:40Speaker 2: that particular category they would like to throw into the
- 54:43Speaker 2: dumpster fire I e. Remove from society forever, and I
- 54:48Speaker 2: will pick between the two of them which one I
- 54:50Speaker 2: would prefer to be gone forever. Whichever one of you
- 54:53Speaker 2: manages to win three categories will win the game and
- 54:57Speaker 2: earn three episode points, and in this case, we'll win
- 55:00Speaker 2: the episode. So let's get started. We are going fast
- 55:05Speaker 2: style on this because this episode is running a little long, yeah,
- 55:09Speaker 2: and also because I genuinely prefer this version of dumpster fire.
- 55:12Speaker 2: So I'm gonna give you guys twenty seconds each time
- 55:15Speaker 2: when it's your turn to talk about your thing for
- 55:18Speaker 2: that particular category. Steve, you lost last game. You have
- 55:21Speaker 2: the choice do you want to go first or do
- 55:22Speaker 2: you want to make AUGI go first, knowing that you'll
- 55:24Speaker 2: switch back and forth as the categories go on.
- 55:27Speaker 3: I'm gonna go first.
- 55:28Speaker 2: You're gonna go first? Yeah, I think so, Stevee's gonna
- 55:30Speaker 2: go first. Our first topic recess? Oh yeah, what about recess?
- 55:36Speaker 2: Would you throw into us the dumpster fire forever? It
- 55:40Speaker 2: may have been a while since you've actually been sent
- 55:43Speaker 2: out on one, yeah, right, But you work in a school,
- 55:47Speaker 2: so you might also have an additional insight into this, sir,
- 55:51Speaker 2: So what about recess would you like to throw into
- 55:53Speaker 2: a dumpster fire? Twenty seconds go?
- 55:55Speaker 3: I was gonna say hairline because I don't like my hairline. Recess.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Fuck you, that's still my answer because I know you
- 56:01Speaker 1: and I both fucking deal with this bullshit.
- 56:04Speaker 3: I'll ye. This motherfucker over here gets off e. That's
- 56:07Speaker 3: not what I meant.
- 56:08Speaker 2: You have eight seconds.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Uh, there's no more monkey bars as bullshit because kids
- 56:12Speaker 1: get hurt, and I say, fuck that.
- 56:14Speaker 3: If you're gonnaet hurt, you gonna get hurt.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Okay, time is up. Well done getting an actual answer.
- 56:20Speaker 3: Okay, thank you. That's what I do, guys, that's what
- 56:22Speaker 3: I do.
- 56:22Speaker 2: You see, any hairline is very funny.
- 56:25Speaker 3: That's what.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Life. I was referring to the school time activity, sir.
- 56:31Speaker 2: But you did catch it and you did give me
- 56:33Speaker 2: an answer. So really, they're getting rid of monkey bars.
- 56:35Speaker 2: I to be honest, I haven't been anywhere near.
- 56:38Speaker 3: We don't have a place like oh yeah, they removed.
- 56:41Speaker 3: They're just getting rid of ship.
- 56:43Speaker 1: There's those like fake Matt. It's not even grass anymore.
- 56:46Speaker 1: You can have a field.
- 56:48Speaker 3: You're allowed of soccer field with about that ship?
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah, like that happens all the time.
- 56:54Speaker 1: You're gonna get hurt in life, guys, everybody gets hurt.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Everybody is gonna happen.
- 56:58Speaker 4: It's too much people not wanting to be accountable.
- 57:01Speaker 3: That's what it is.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Probably, Yeah, I could, I could talk for hours about that.
- 57:04Speaker 3: Yeah. So yeah, okay, get rid of the fun ship.
- 57:07Speaker 2: Yeah that's fair. All right, Uhie, you have twenty seconds
- 57:11Speaker 2: to tell me what it is you'd like to get
- 57:13Speaker 2: rid of about recess and go Okay.
- 57:15Speaker 4: I thought it said recess, and I was going to
- 57:17Speaker 4: see all the unnecessary wrappers, but I guess I'm gonna
- 57:21Speaker 4: say recess. That not every school actually has recess, and
- 57:24Speaker 4: not every recess uh uh stuff is accessible itself, Like
- 57:29Speaker 4: not everybody has a playground inside. Some people have to
- 57:32Speaker 4: do recess inside, like in the gym or something.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Okay, that's a good one.
- 57:36Speaker 2: That's really good. That's a good one.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Proper answer. You should be on a school board.
- 57:40Speaker 2: I mean your answers are a little similar. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 57:44Speaker 2: and that Stevie's is like they're getting rid of not.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Allowed on recess anymore. And Augie is.
- 57:50Speaker 2: Also very much like they're getting rid of stuff for
- 57:52Speaker 2: kids to do.
- 57:53Speaker 4: It's really the bad part about really.
- 57:55Speaker 2: But if I take you both, if I take you
- 57:58Speaker 2: both literally literally, then I have to I have to
- 58:01Speaker 2: go with Augie on this one, because I could not
- 58:05Speaker 2: imagine being a kindergartener and not having recess.
- 58:09Speaker 5: What recess is like, I mean, even.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Not knowing what it is. If I found out what
- 58:13Speaker 2: it was, I'd be pissed. We don't get to go
- 58:17Speaker 2: outside for an hour and have fun. What the fuck?
- 58:22Speaker 2: But it feels might like that could lead to like
- 58:28Speaker 2: child developmental problems because you get one of the things,
- 58:33Speaker 2: one of the things about being in school is the
- 58:35Speaker 2: social aspect, and by removing recess, you're taking one of
- 58:39Speaker 2: the biggest social aspects of school away from kids, and
- 58:42Speaker 2: that is a skill they absolutely have to learn, because
- 58:46Speaker 2: even with recess, I turned out to be a social
- 58:49Speaker 2: mess of a human being to the point where I
- 58:52Speaker 2: can't connect with humans on the level that matters. So
- 58:56Speaker 2: I feel like that is a scary thing to take
- 58:59Speaker 2: away from kids. I feel like they're going to be.
- 59:03Speaker 4: As as I said, it's different for every school, but
- 59:05Speaker 4: from what I heard from what I hear rather is
- 59:08Speaker 4: that a lot of their like social ship comes from
- 59:12Speaker 4: like lunch. That's it like they only ever really social with.
- 59:16Speaker 2: Each other was where I made friends. Where I where
- 59:20Speaker 2: I met the other kids in the class who sat
- 59:22Speaker 2: like three or four rows away and never got to
- 59:24Speaker 2: talk to Recess I would talk to. I got to
- 59:28Speaker 2: I met my first crush in fourth grade on Recess.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Loveday was not yet I didn't meet you till like
- 59:38Speaker 2: high school. Anyway, let's move on to our second category. Steve,
- 59:43Speaker 2: you're gonna want this, but Augie goes first. Damn it
- 59:46Speaker 2: Valentine's Day that we are recording this on Valentine's Day.
- 59:50Speaker 5: For Valentine's Day, it literally is nobody gives a ship.
- 59:57Speaker 3: I need to stop getting high and make a heart
- 59:59Speaker 3: out of some things.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Well, while you're working on that ogie, you are going
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: to go first. What about Valentine's Day? Would you like
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: to throw away twenty seconds and.
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: Go So the Valentine's Day has been over fucking capitalized, commercialized,
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: all that bullshit, just like every other holiday, just like
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: Christmas and all that shit. It used to be looper Kalia,
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: which was the Roman celebration of fertility, and in spring
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: we should go back to that because that's a little
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: bit more genuine than buying just a bunch of chocolate
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: and roses, expensive ass roses for the sake of.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Time in bath houses.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Because yeah, okay, we should go back to Looper Callia. Yeah, Steevie,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: you gotta beat that. You've got secondgory Valentine's Day? What
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: about Valentine's Day? Would you throw into a dumpster fire?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Oh my god, twenty seconds and go.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Everybody should get all the chocolate for free.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: And remember these are things you wish to throw away.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: The cost of all.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Chocolate.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Popeye is not on times Popeyes time?
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: What the fuck's Steevie?
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: I really had nothing, Vale.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: I was gonna say, are you throwing this game?
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: What the hell? I just don't know.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I don't don't you want to throw away the cost
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: of chocolate? I too would very much enjoy.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I think the chocolate should be free if they're gonna
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: fucking advertise and throw it in our face that everybody
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: has to have fucking chocolate on Valentine.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: And again you both have gone down very similar lines
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: of capitalism is the villain, which is something I can
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: always get behind, and you're both playing to my sensibilities,
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: which I appreciate.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: But damn it, I did it first, on.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: This occasion, I am going to give it to Augie
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: because of your two suggestions. While I would like chocolate
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: to be free, I also know that would be dangerous
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: for someone like me, and secondly.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: Common it was supposed to be super healthy.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: But secondly, this Luperclie thing sounds like fun.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Yeah, oh fuck yeah it does.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: But I didn't say much about it. He didn't have
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: a lot of time. But it did sound like more
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: fun than yeah. So that is two categories to Augie.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: It's not an insurmountable lead, but it's looking bad. Stevie,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: you need all three of these and the next one
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: you will start this time.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Oh good?
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: What about Xbox? And I'm talking the brand of Xbox
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: in total, everything encompassed by the name, the word Xbox.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: What about Xbox? Would you throw into a dumpster fire
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: twenty seconds and go the fact.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: That they can merge in Microsoft and have this giant,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: goddamn monopoly. I know we're going capitalism, but it's a
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: fucking video game company. Stick a video game, separate everything,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: fuck them all.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: I don't know rightly. I don't like the controller.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I don't I don't like the Xbox controller from the
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: first Xbox, and that's why I never bought one because
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: it was stupid, didn't fit my hands.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Right, that's time, So let me just make sure I
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: got this straight. What you're actually drawing into a dumpster
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: fire is the okay, fair enough, Augie onto you? What
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: about Xbox? Would you throw into a dumpster fire?
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: And gou that they are constant push for council warring
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: with their competitor, which is just a way, it's just
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: an excuse for them to drive up pricing instead of
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: actually making genuine improvements to their systems.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Okay, still got time.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: But also their naming.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: Convention is stupid in times up.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Okay, that would have been a great one. That would
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: have been a great one.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: Xboxes has they had three sixty, they could have done
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: ten eighty.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: What do they do? X Bone?
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: X Bone and then the Xbox series Yeah, and.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: Then instead of naming it something else, the next Xcell, Delicious,
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: Chocolate box, sx whatever, damn.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, so neither of you got my instant win
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: answer for this, which there there isn't always an instant
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: win answer, but for Xbox, there was one, and that
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: is that they have since the beginning constantly marketed to
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: dude bros. Oh yeah, they are always one hundred percent
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: marketing just to dude bros. And I am like, Xbox
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: could be so much more, And and I kind of
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: hate that that I actually own a machine that is
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: marketed to dude bros. I genuinely do. I'm like, I don't.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I don't want to be lumped in with these guys.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I don't. I just don't, you know. And but I
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: want an Xbox because there's good games on it. That's it.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: That's the only reason I want it.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Your options are slim, man.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I wanted to forever. I wanted a PlayStation five forever.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: I'd never actually picked one up. I still have a
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: PlayStation four that I don't touch. So why would I
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: get ye, there's no reason, right, there's no reason. I'm like,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: I'm wasting my time. I would just it would just
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: set it, it would sit in my room and I'd
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: play on my computer anyway, like I always fucking do.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I hear you, I hear you. I gotta switch. This
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: is sitting underneath my monitor over like a year.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: So a man, Ogi, if you've gone with the naving conventions,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I would have given it to you. But I'm giving
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: it to Stevie because the controller. The controller is also
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: a bugaboo of mine. On Xbox, it feels like they
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: never get it right always, like there's always something fucking wrong.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: It's usually related to the dpad. They haven't been able
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: to make a decent dpad on that thing forever, and
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: I don't know what the fuck their problem is, honestly,
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: like so many Chinese, shitty Chinese companies get it right,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: but Microsoft can't, can't manage it once.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: Mull die billion dollar company, and.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: I'm just it just drives me nuts. Anyway, Let's move on.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: So that's one to Stevie, two to Oggy Oggie. This
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: time you're gonna go first, and your category this time
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: is Chris Hemsworth. What about Chris Hemsworth? Would you throw
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: into a dumpster fire twenty seconds.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: And go the fact that he's going to be at
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: Disney's Mercy for the rest of his life because no
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: one else is going to play thor ooh wow.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Ooh ten seconds? Do you want to expound him?
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: Robert Donney Jr. Chris Evans and everybody else who played
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: a superhero character are stuck in their roles just like you, Jackman,
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: because no one else will be able to fill them time.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Wow, type casted.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I did not expect that.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Neither did I. And that's kind of fucked up.
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: Really good, but I think it can you know how
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Disney wants.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: It's pretty good. I think it can be beaten Stevie
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: twenty seconds? What about Crims, Crisp Crimson, what about Crims Hensworth?
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Crims Crims? What about Chris Hemsworth? Would you throw into
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: a dumpster fire twenty seconds go?
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: His good looks? I think, oh, jeezy, No, I'm not joking.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I think he wrote on those too long, and he
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: actually could have benefited more from not being so fucking pretty,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: so you could put more work into his actual acting.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: I think he's fine for what he does, I really do,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: but I don't think he's as great of an actor
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: as everybody thinks he is. Look at classical acting and
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Helmsworth and what we Okay, No, I think it was
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: just too much is given to him.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: Honestly, I do. It's fine, like he's a good thor.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: And I know you said typecasting, but I'm not even
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: saying that.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like, dude, it's fine like that dude
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: who is in fucking Adventures and babysitting was a good Thor.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: I am going to I'm going to keep it to Aggie.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: I have to I I absolutely have to.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Do you think he's oh yeah, that's fine.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I mean, uh, you can. You can say what you
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: will about his talent. I've never had an objection to
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: his talent. I think he's a wonderful actor. I think
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: even when he plays himself, he does so with a
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: self mocking sort of uh, a self mocking sort like
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: in Jane Soundbob reboots right in his came in that
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: he was hilarious, absolutely making fun of himself. And the
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: popularity that he's garnered, and I I would like very
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: much to see him in other roles. I have really
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: only seen him as Thor, but that's because I haven't
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: gone out of my way. Is he in the New
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Crime one O one? I think that's him. I want
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: to see that because he's in it.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: There's a lot of things he's in there, as there's
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: so many.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Chris Is, they're all confusing.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: But I know he's been more than just Thor. I've
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: seen him do some other stuff.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that is that is him as a yeah, in
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: Crime one one it is Chris Hamsworth. So just based
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: on the trailer, I am really interested in seeing that,
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: and it looks like he might actually be kind of
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: a bad guy, which is which is refreshing, and I
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: really I really look forward to seeing what he can do.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: But it's just like I don't have the same hang
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: up on it on his talent that you appear to.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: That's fine, And I don't think his good looks in
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: any way like benefited from it. No, he's benefited from
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: it one hundred all actors do. But I don't think
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: it has stunted his growth, like like you, Yeah, it's just.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: Like I think.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I like, I like the idea that uglier people are
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: better actors. Me too, Like, that's very funny. That's very
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: funny to me.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Also feels like I'm just saying some of some of
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: us have to try harder.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: But but but yeah, but Augie brought up something more upsetting,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: which is just the idea that.
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: He's gonna get typecasted because someone wants money.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly, that is more concerning. So I had to
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: go with aug Oggie now has three categories. He has
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: won this game, and he has won the episode five
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: points to one. Fuck yeah, well done, Augie. We never
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: got to the wild card, but you know, yeah again,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: that's okay. It's a wildcard for a reason, so yeah,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: well we'll do it. We'll do another wildcard next time
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: if we get to that point, but that is gonna
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: be it from us. Thank you for listening. I hope
