- 0:00Uh.
- 0:03Jasmine oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:12Then, everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okeron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and staff his
- 0:25shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the
- 0:39world. Last time on
- 0:42Benders and Brews an Avatar Legends
- 0:45Podcast and then you turned.
- 0:47Around, only to find out that you were surrounded
- 0:49by pirates, and they have captured
- 0:52you and they are taking you back to their ship.
- 0:55You kids, you thought you could hide
- 0:58your secret about the treasure from us? The box was made
- 1:01in Udao.
- 1:02Uh, is that where we need to go?
- 1:05Okay, get ready to sail. We are headed
- 1:08to you now.
- 1:10Captain. Captain. I see
- 1:13it. It's here.
- 1:14You see what, Zazu?
- 1:16It's the beast.
- 1:19When you see a large scaled
- 1:22fig inside the water coming
- 1:24towards the boat, it leaps from
- 1:27the waves and you see this massive
- 1:30hulking gator shark.
- 1:32Everybody to your
- 1:34stations.
- 1:42And welcome back to another episode of Benders and
- 1:44Bruise. Before we get any further into this comedy
- 1:47goal, let's get some character facts. Are you
- 1:50upset? That's good. Um, Mika. You got
- 1:53a Michaela aka Mika. Do you got a starting
- 1:55fact for us?
- 1:56Um, Mika is an only child.
- 2:04It is a true fact that anyone could find
- 2:07out by listening to her prequel episode. So if you haven't done
- 2:10that, definitely go do that how many siblings
- 2:13we have? Man, I sure do love when
- 2:16somebody's interesting fact about their character is a promo
- 2:19for one of the previous episodes.
- 2:21Makes my job a heck of a lot easier. This made my
- 2:24path a lot easier.
- 2:26Uh oh, what have I done?
- 2:28Playing Bill? Bill has two younger
- 2:32uh,
- 2:34that currently was that
- 2:37supposed to he
- 2:40at this time? This point in time,
- 2:43no. Gotcha.
- 2:46Which you can find out sort of more
- 2:48about. It's very alluded to in Bill's
- 2:51prequel episode. Yeah, two younger
- 2:54brothers, but one is no longer is
- 2:57there a National Prequel Day? Because I hope this
- 3:00episode falls on National Prequel Day.
- 3:01National Prequel Day is, uh, that what we're doing for our
- 3:04facts? We're just teasing prequels.
- 3:06No, actually, I just was going to say how many siblings I had because Nika
- 3:09said how many siblings she
- 3:12prequels.
- 3:13Okay.
- 3:13Uh, Guo is really good at pod
- 3:16racing.
- 3:18Yes. Hold on
- 3:21a second.
- 3:23Gosh.
- 3:23Guo, what universe are you
- 3:26playing? This isn't a Star Wars
- 3:29RPG.
- 3:30Actual fact is so
- 3:32quo. He's got his list
- 3:35of food places he
- 3:38wants to hit. Every place he
- 3:41goes, he tries to find the hot
- 3:43spots or the hole.
- 3:45In the walls that maybe tasty spots.
- 3:47Yeah, tasty spots.
- 3:49Something else you can find out about. Listen to the Bill
- 3:52and Prague hot pot
- 3:55spots.
- 3:55Nice.
- 3:55OOH, I love hot pot.
- 3:57I've never actually had it. Oh, it's so, uh,
- 4:01like, he takes, like, a notes. He
- 4:04has a journal that's pretty much just for himself,
- 4:07though he doesn't try to publish it or anything.
- 4:10He also has a secret
- 4:13grading method.
- 4:17Like, he'll leave, uh, a
- 4:20mark in the stones, like, either on the
- 4:22doorway or somewhere on the building,
- 4:25somewhere in the restaurant, or, like, outside on the
- 4:28sidewalk. And it's, uh,
- 4:30like the Guo grade or something.
- 4:33Oh, my gosh. You're doing a Yelp
- 4:36meets, like, the hobo speak or whatever they
- 4:39called that back in the day where they used yeah. The signs where they would, like,
- 4:42mark, like, this friendly, or these people don't like
- 4:45homeless people, so stay away.
- 4:46Ah, thieves can't for hobos.
- 4:48Yes.
- 4:48To put in DND terms.
- 4:50Yes.
- 4:50So it'd be like, I don't know. Uh, the
- 4:53first lowest grade would be like, uh,
- 4:56some pebbles on the ground. And then the second one
- 4:59would be a boulder with some pebbles on the
- 5:02ground.
- 5:03Okay.
- 5:05A bunch of boulders in the pebbles on the ground.
- 5:08Boulders are good.
- 5:10The more rocks, the better. In
- 5:12Guao's grace.
- 5:14So what about the blissful brew?
- 5:17There's never rocks in front of it.
- 5:19Yeah, they haven't really focused
- 5:21on food that much.
- 5:23That's true. Like a hot pot
- 5:26bevy's only what is the
- 5:29highest number of boulders that a restaurant has received
- 5:32from?
- 5:32Why do the standard five?
- 5:34Oh, okay.
- 5:35Next one be, like,
- 5:38the pebbles in the boulder and the
- 5:40footholds with the other boulders and then a
- 5:43mountain. And then the fifth
- 5:46one would be turns out the
- 5:49mountain was a volcano. No.
- 5:51Uh, nice.
- 5:52I like it.
- 5:53I dig it. That's pretty cool. He's got a
- 5:56rating system for that's.
- 5:58Awesome.
- 5:59All right, cool. Cool.
- 6:00I'm waiting for Brock to be like.
- 6:02Wait, Gohan's the one leaving these
- 6:05I've been chucking them at Birds.
- 6:08I've been following this system for years.
- 6:11I thought just every restaurant did it.
- 6:14Yeah. Huh.
- 6:14I thought that was something they were doing. I just
- 6:17love the volcano places. Really
- 6:20good. Uh, all right,
- 6:23Brock.
- 6:28Brock.
- 6:29Um, Lee Connor playing broccoli. What's
- 6:32an interesting broccoli fact.
- 6:33Well, if, uh, we're doing more sort of plugs for
- 6:36previous episodes, brock, uh, is
- 6:39able to tunnel underground, but it's
- 6:42only like Bugs Bunny, where you can easily see,
- 6:44like, little mounds of rocks coming
- 6:47up from the surface. Yes, you can tunnel
- 6:50underground like Bugs Bunny.
- 6:52Something else we recently discovered in the
- 6:54recent prequel episode of Bill and
- 6:57Brock's little one shot adventure, which, of
- 7:00course, you can listen to, like, many of the prequel episodes.
- 7:03Hey, you know what? Kudos to Dave for coming up with
- 7:06an interesting
- 7:08that actually is pretty mine wasn't even a
- 7:11prequel.
- 7:14It's adjacent, but it wasn't until you.
- 7:17Met I guess mine wasn't even a prequel either.
- 7:22No, that's fair.
- 7:24All right, well, with that and interesting information,
- 7:27uh, who knows if we will even make it to
- 7:30Udao, where we might find some restaurants
- 7:33with volcano ratings. Who knows?
- 7:36We'll find out. Well, maybe today, maybe next
- 7:39episode. Who knows? Uh, but for now, let's jump back into
- 7:42vendors and brews.
- 7:47All right, everybody. So where we last left off,
- 7:49you guys were captured on the pirate ship. You talked to some of
- 7:52the crew members to kind of get an idea of who it is that you are
- 7:55on board with. The Captain is
- 7:58forcibly making you sail to Udao,
- 8:01a, uh, Earth Kingdom city that
- 8:04Mr. Okuron had referenced in his recent
- 8:06clue, telling you to go there to get the next piece of the map,
- 8:09which will eventually lead. You to the
- 8:12will that you are looking for in order to save the
- 8:15Blissful Brew and keep it from getting taken
- 8:17by your rivals. Hot leaf
- 8:20juice. All
- 8:23that being said, uh, you're currently on the pirate
- 8:26ship, and suddenly you
- 8:29spot a massive creature swimming towards the
- 8:32ship in the distance. It is a
- 8:34massive gator shark, which they have
- 8:37named Kuma.
- 8:41That's right. Uh, this
- 8:44giant gator shark has leapt over the ship and back into the
- 8:47water, but it is not leaving the area. It seems like
- 8:50it is hungry. It is interested in attacking the
- 8:53crew of the bloody Borcupines
- 8:55ship. And you are currently aboard
- 8:58said ship, so it's after you just as
- 9:01much as anybody else. You also know that the captain himself,
- 9:04Captain Rockfoot, once known as Captain
- 9:07Luckyfoot, had his leg
- 9:09bitten off by what is allegedly this exact
- 9:12same gator shark, and
- 9:15he is hungry for revenge. As you
- 9:18stand on the deck of the ship, the captain is shouting
- 9:21orders to everybody, you there, get over to the
- 9:24guns. Zazu, Raza,
- 9:28get onto the bow of the ship. Uh,
- 9:31Tomo, you take, uh, whatever the.
- 9:34Other side of the ship is.
- 9:34I don't know ship terms. I apologize.
- 9:37Stern.
- 9:37Stern, starboard.
- 9:39Uh.
- 9:41Everybody get to your appropriate positions. You know what that
- 9:44means. Kill that gator
- 9:47shark. Uh, you four, let's call
- 9:49you, uh, interns,
- 9:53I don't know. Find a place on the ship where you can
- 9:56help. All right, so I'm going to give you guys a kind of rundown of
- 9:59the various resources available to you on the ship to help
- 10:02you in this fight, because as it currently stands, you are
- 10:05in a piece of wood floating down
- 10:08in the ocean, and there's a massive,
- 10:10monstrous beast attacking the ship. So,
- 10:13all things considered, helping the crew in
- 10:16this moment is probably with your best interest, because the last thing you want
- 10:19to do is end up in the water with that thing. All
- 10:22right, so, uh, you look around, all of you look around. You
- 10:25see a variety of different things that you could possibly use as
- 10:28weapons or involved in some way, shape, or form.
- 10:31Uh, you have nets that you could use to
- 10:33hopefully slow down, trap, or otherwise
- 10:36exhaust this creature, allowing for others to do
- 10:39other various attacks.
- 10:42There are harpoons, which you can take a hold
- 10:45of either stabbing at the water if it gets
- 10:47close or throwing into the water as it passes
- 10:50by. And then of course, you have bows and
- 10:52arrows. Uh, same thing. Uh, you do
- 10:55know that, uh, obviously once an
- 10:58arrow kind of hits the water, it's going to kind of throw off its
- 11:01ability. Just like in movies when you see somebody shooting
- 11:04bullets into water, how the bullets kind of
- 11:07they slam into the water and then they slow down and they sink.
- 11:09So you only got so much, I don't know,
- 11:12damage you can do with that. But it is an option.
- 11:16Um, additionally, for one
- 11:18individual person, you could take a hold
- 11:21of the Grappling harpoon, which sits inside
- 11:24of a gun like device. Uh,
- 11:27kind of works off some, like, clockwork gears
- 11:30on the rear end of the ship. Uh, there are
- 11:33cannons inside of the ship which one could
- 11:35fire as well. Other than that, that's pretty
- 11:38much the key things.
- 11:40Oh.
- 11:41Alternatively, you could take command,
- 11:44um, which you currently, uh, that spot is being
- 11:47taken, so I'm not going to really suggest that.
- 11:50But if it weren't being taken and somehow
- 11:53fell to you, that is an option. And it could kind of help
- 11:56out with, uh, mhm.
- 11:58Yeah.
- 11:59As a future option.
- 12:00Uh.
- 12:02Uh all
- 12:04right. Going down the
- 12:07line, his other
- 12:09leg.
- 12:11Is this like a Captain Hook situation?
- 12:13Kind of, yeah. How do you not hear the clock? There's
- 12:16no clock. It's a mix between kind of like a
- 12:19Captain Hook meets Moby Dick kind of a situation.
- 12:21Yeah.
- 12:22Um, going down the table is there,
- 12:26um, what would each of you like to do? Connor?
- 12:29Broccoli. Uh, where's broccoli headed?
- 12:32Can I grab some harpoons and then go down to the
- 12:35cannons?
- 12:36Uh, yeah, sure,
- 12:39you can do that.
- 12:40That's interesting.
- 12:41All right, so, uh, you grab two harpoons. They're fairly
- 12:44heavy, so you grab one in each hand and you kind of
- 12:47take off running down to the ship's. Uh,
- 12:49core. Uh, sue is standing there. She
- 12:52watches you do this because she's also grabbing one,
- 12:55getting it ready to throw, and she's like, where the heck are you
- 12:58going?
- 12:58To the cannons.
- 13:00Why?
- 13:04Don't worry about it.
- 13:06Uh, okay.
- 13:07I'm not going to stop you. I'm pretty focused.
- 13:09Whatever.
- 13:09Get yourself killed, I guess.
- 13:11Clearly you're not focused if you're paying attention to what
- 13:14Brock's doing.
- 13:25Good thing it's my weight.
- 13:29I can tell exactly how much these
- 13:31are.
- 13:3225 pound metal.
- 13:35Uh.
- 13:38What are you doing?
- 13:39Guo grabs his mop, uh,
- 13:43looks down at it and tosses it aside
- 13:46and goes and grabs a bow and arrow.
- 13:49Nice.
- 13:49All right, you get your bow and arrow. You've got like a little quiver
- 13:52of arrows next to you. And you start. Readying your bow.
- 13:55Pulling that string taut.
- 13:57Yeah.
- 13:57It's going to try to use his
- 14:00instincts and fire this bow.
- 14:03Yeah. Are you?
- 14:03Not particularly, no. All right,
- 14:06fair enough. You can't use no carnival.
- 14:09They might have had something like that.
- 14:11Honestly.
- 14:13All right.
- 14:15What would be their Valentine's Day?
- 14:17Like special Valentine's Day
- 14:19cupid.
- 14:21Like all hearts day or yeah.
- 14:27Lovers day. The day
- 14:30of two lovers. Uh, well, I don't know. They might leave it
- 14:33open. The day
- 14:35of lovers. Lovers.
- 14:37That'd be like an oba shooting lover's Day.
- 14:39Yeah.
- 14:40Lovers day. It works great with Mother's Day.
- 14:43Mother's Day.
- 14:44Lovers.
- 14:45Lovers Day. That's right. For all the couples out there
- 14:48or soon to be.
- 14:49I don't know.
- 14:49All them lovers. That's all them lovers. Um,
- 14:52brought a bill. Bill door. What are you
- 14:55doing?
- 14:55Harpoon.
- 14:56You're grabbing yourself a harpoon? Getting ready. Because it's like a
- 14:59post step pointy. Fair point. Fair point. I
- 15:02like it. All right, mika
- 15:05takes command.
- 15:10I assume the position.
- 15:13I am going to run to the front of the ship
- 15:16okay. And just stand there for a moment.
- 15:19Okay.
- 15:19You just doing, like, lookout or something. Pose like
- 15:22a t.
- 15:25On top of.
- 15:26The world, I'm flying Captain
- 15:28Rockfoot.
- 15:30What are you doing?
- 15:34You're going to get your leg bitten.
- 15:36Um, off.
- 15:36Just like, why do
- 15:39I care? He says as he's dangling his good foot
- 15:42over the side of the boat. I wonder
- 15:45how he lost the first one with these poor life
- 15:48choices he makes. I'm going to start
- 15:51with Brock. Brock, you're running down to the cannons
- 15:54with the harpoons. What are
- 15:57you doing?
- 15:58Can I load the harpoons into the cannon?
- 16:02You know what? I'm not going to stop you, that's for sure. I'm
- 16:05very intrigued on how this is going to, uh,
- 16:10uh, happen.
- 16:11What's the worst that could happen?
- 16:12Right? So downstairs you run into a young
- 16:15guy. It was the same guy whose voice you heard last episode that
- 16:18called out having seen the gator
- 16:20shark up front. His name is Zazu, based on the
- 16:23context clues you received from the captain shouting back at him.
- 16:26He's a younger man. Uh, he's wearing,
- 16:29uh, uh, like a Fire Nation headband on
- 16:32his head. His hair is kind of spiked up. He's got
- 16:35black powder, like, all over his face and hands,
- 16:38and his clothes are pretty dirty because
- 16:41of this. But he's like, oh, hey, how's it
- 16:43going? Are you helping me with the cannons?
- 16:46Yeah, I'm down here to help with the cannons.
- 16:48Right on.
- 16:49In case we run out of cannonballs. I got some harpoons
- 16:52here.
- 16:55I've never tried that before. That seems like a pretty cool idea,
- 16:57though. All right.
- 17:00I like you.
- 17:00I like you seem like a fun guy to blow stuff up
- 17:03with.
- 17:04I like you, too.
- 17:05All right, uh, so cannons are loaded. They're ready to go.
- 17:08We just got to get this thing just right. We got to make sure that m we hit him.
- 17:10Okay.
- 17:11All right. Slam into him just here. Really
- 17:14knock him out with his cannonball.
- 17:16Dude, when this is over, we got to hang out.
- 17:18Oh, absolutely. Uh, do you like
- 17:21stew?
- 17:21Yeah, I love stew.
- 17:22Oh, I love stew. All right, sweet. Maybe we can get some stew from Cookie if
- 17:25we survive this thing.
- 17:26Yeah.
- 17:27All right. Uh, do you want to load
- 17:29those in now, or are we just going to fire a regular
- 17:32cannonball? I think we might have to put
- 17:35it in. When there's a cannonball inside of it, I don't know if it'll just shoot
- 17:38out by itself. With
- 17:40explosions, you got to create a lot of sort, uh, of pressure
- 17:43that's built up, and then it just you got to
- 17:46enclose that. That's why cannonballs work.
- 17:48Right.
- 17:48They fit right inside the cannon.
- 17:50Right.
- 17:51And then it blocks up any space for the
- 17:54explosion to not hit it. You know what I mean?
- 17:56I did not think that through. So, yeah, let's do
- 17:59that.
- 17:59All right.
- 18:00Just like yes, let's shove one of those in there. This is a terrible idea,
- 18:03and I love it.
- 18:04I love it.
- 18:04I'm excited. All right, so you load up. There's a cannon
- 18:07already in there, but you just jam one of those harpoons into the
- 18:10cannon, hoping for the best. Um, roll
- 18:13me. Uh, you're doing advance and attack.
- 18:15All right.
- 18:16Which I think everybody except Mika
- 18:19is Mika. Uh, I'm assuming you're going to do, like, a
- 18:22beta. Observe.
- 18:25Okay.
- 18:26I rolled a ten.
- 18:27A ten, nice. All right.
- 18:29I will defy the laws of
- 18:32physics.
- 18:33These will have kind of, like, special
- 18:35things that I've kind of created. They're basically like their own
- 18:38moves, um, by using these weapons.
- 18:41Um, so it's already kind of locked in. It's just whether or
- 18:44not they succeed.
- 18:47Mark two fatigue. Mark a condition or shift their
- 18:50balance away from center. Destroy something in the
- 18:53environment. But that doesn't include the gator shark,
- 18:56does it?
- 18:57I mean, he's in the environment.
- 19:01And.
- 19:01Then I just emerge. I am the captain
- 19:04now. So these are going to be I'm going to
- 19:07just consider these basic
- 19:10techniques. So technically, you could do two.
- 19:13Well, I would only be able to strike and smash, right?
- 19:16Well, yes, but also, this is going to count as one
- 19:19of them. Um, this is, like, kind of a custom
- 19:22attack. So using the cannonball is
- 19:24its own basic move.
- 19:26Well, the harpoo is in there, too, right?
- 19:28I'm just counting that with it.
- 19:32But then otherwise, uh,
- 19:36you could choose an additional advance in
- 19:39attack. Basic technique.
- 19:42Basic technique. So the strike pressure
- 19:45or smash.
- 19:47Okay.
- 19:48Try to figure out a way to fit that in.
- 19:51So if I were to say smash okay, and it says
- 19:54destroy something in the
- 19:56environment, does that include
- 20:00the crocodile shark?
- 20:02It's really just I mean, you successfully did something,
- 20:05so I'm not going to do something that counts against you in this
- 20:08circumstance.
- 20:09But in the environment. It's
- 20:12either the water, the
- 20:15ship, or the cannon.
- 20:17Otherwise,
- 20:20can I destroy the water? Just blow every
- 20:23inch of water could.
- 20:25Blow it out of the water.
- 20:27Would that kill it, or would that just make it mark a couple
- 20:30of.
- 20:30Extra fatigue on the, um, it would open
- 20:33up accessibility for people, say, with the
- 20:36bow or harpoons, to have an
- 20:39easier chance at hitting it.
- 20:41I'll blow it. Well, with the harpoon, though, I
- 20:44should probably at least be able to pierce it, I would think.
- 20:47Right.
- 20:47But, like, the harpoon could pierce it and the cannonball
- 20:50could get it out of the water.
- 20:52Yeah, that makes sense. That actually does make sense.
- 20:55I'll do that.
- 20:55Okay, cool.
- 20:56But I do mark one fatigue.
- 20:58I believe so, yeah. All right. So he is marking
- 21:01two fatigue from the harpoon
- 21:04that you jammed in. He is also
- 21:07impaired as he now has a harpoon
- 21:09jammed into his side. The
- 21:12cannonball fires out and slams into the
- 21:15water, causing a massive sort of explosion. And
- 21:18it causes the gator shark to go flying into the
- 21:21air, um, for Guao and
- 21:24well, actually, all the other three of you, you can see this
- 21:27happen. You see this giant gator
- 21:30shark fly up into the air. Um, it is now
- 21:33kind of not floating there.
- 21:37It kind of looks like something just left out of the water, but
- 21:40it looks like in an awkward sense, so it's not in control
- 21:43of what it's doing. Right now, you are
- 21:45going to be doing your bow and arrow. Would you like to
- 21:48roll me in? Just roll it
- 21:51as you're watching it.
- 21:53Jump over you with your arms
- 21:55out.
- 21:58He's wiping his hands on his robe.
- 22:01It's moth water.
- 22:03Oh, no.
- 22:04It's all slick. Um, you can
- 22:07reroll your lowest dice, uh, that you
- 22:10roll because of the fact that, uh, Connor's kind of opened up an
- 22:13opportunity for you to hit this creature.
- 22:16Well, there you go.
- 22:18I got a eight.
- 22:20All right.
- 22:21Awesome. So with a seven and nine, you get to use
- 22:24the basic technique, which in this case is the bow and
- 22:26arrow, um, which deals, uh,
- 22:29it deals a single fatigue. So
- 22:32your arrow flies out with key
- 22:35accuracy, slams into the shoulder of the beast,
- 22:37which goes, um,
- 22:40very angry. Uh, some of the pirates around you,
- 22:43uh, kind of look over at you and they're nodding their heads in
- 22:46some impress, like, whoa, he's a pretty good
- 22:48shot. Uh, but then they quickly turn
- 22:51back to focus at the matter at hand because
- 22:54it's a big, scary beast. Um, Bill,
- 22:58you are also advanced in
- 23:00attacking. You've, uh, got a harpoon in your hand.
- 23:03Are you throwing it or okay, go for
- 23:05it. Four.
- 23:08Awesome.
- 23:11Before I make any jokes here,
- 23:14you have the opportunity to, uh,
- 23:17shift your balance away from center to use one
- 23:19basic technique, which in this case would be hurling
- 23:22this, uh, harpoon. If you would like to do
- 23:25that. Which way? Uh, away from
- 23:27center. So as long as it doesn't go towards
- 23:30center, whichever direction you're already on the move of,
- 23:33I suppose that would head towards more self
- 23:36reliance, which doesn't make sense
- 23:39here, as I just completely missed. Well,
- 23:42you wouldn't miss. Oh, okay. That's sure, why not?
- 23:45Let's make some fun character. All right. Growth here. There you
- 23:48go. You and I say, I really want to
- 23:50do this. You see everybody
- 23:59you see Guao successfully shoot an arrow
- 24:02at this beast flying through the air, and you
- 24:05feel like you should be equally, if not
- 24:07more capable than Guao to hit this beast.
- 24:10So you focus for a moment. You curl that out sort of
- 24:13to prove to yourself and to prove to everybody else that
- 24:16you are capable. This harpoon flies through the air,
- 24:19slamming into the beast, hitting him, um, in sort of
- 24:22the ribs area, um, dealing an additional
- 24:25two fatigue to this creature,
- 24:28which now falls back into the water. Minka, what
- 24:31are you up to over at the front of the boat?
- 24:36I'm invading, observing.
- 24:39Going to who's around me,
- 24:42I guess.
- 24:43Um, yeah, good question. Great question. Um, currently
- 24:46around you specifically,
- 24:48um, you see an Earth
- 24:51bending woman. She is holding a
- 24:54harpoon. She's kind of probably in her
- 24:57late 40s. Um, she's wearing sort of the
- 25:00green garb that a lot of Earthbenders seem to
- 25:02wear. She also kind of has, like, a
- 25:05dirty like, I work with I work
- 25:08with my hands. Yes, I work with my hands kind of a
- 25:11thing going on. Um, you can kind
- 25:13of smell, uh, what smells
- 25:16like sort uh, of the smell of, like, hot
- 25:19iron. She kind of has that about her and kind of
- 25:21smell yes, that smells interesting
- 25:23smelling. Um, additionally, near her, you
- 25:26see another man. Uh, he is wearing some very
- 25:29fine clothes, which seems OD. He is holding a
- 25:32bow and arrow. He looks very awkward with said
- 25:35bow and arrow. Um, very nervous. He's a
- 25:38slight amount rotund. Uh, he's wearing
- 25:41some orange clothing, which makes you wonder if maybe he
- 25:44has some relation to the Fire Nation. But you're not sure.
- 25:47Um, but he definitely does not look very confident.
- 25:50I guess I am going to
- 25:53Bolster or Hinder, which means I can aid or impede
- 25:56a nearby character.
- 25:58Okay.
- 25:58I will help the lady.
- 26:01Okay.
- 26:01What do you oh, actually, I guess you have to roll it first.
- 26:04Yeah. Um,
- 26:07I got a four.
- 26:09Okay.
- 26:10You can choose to move your balance away from center
- 26:13if you would like to, um, use a basic
- 26:15technique anyways.
- 26:17Sure.
- 26:18Okay.
- 26:18Which way are you moving?
- 26:20Um, well, I suppose I'm leaning towards friendship,
- 26:23because I'm trying to help.
- 26:25Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:26You help somebody.
- 26:27Yeah, I'm trying to.
- 26:29Awesome.
- 26:30Very cool.
- 26:30Yeah.
- 26:31What do you say to this woman as she's getting
- 26:34ready to hurl this harpoon towards this creature?
- 26:37You're so awesome.
- 26:38Okay.
- 26:40And she looks over at you and she says, well,
- 26:43thank you. I appreciate that.
- 26:45Welcome.
- 26:46And she turns back to what she's doing her hand, and you could
- 26:49see, like, a little smirk in her face, uh, on
- 26:52her smile. And she pulls back, far
- 26:55back, and hurls this thing towards the
- 26:58creature, which is swimming towards the boat. At this point, he's already
- 27:01landed back into the water, and you see it go
- 27:03into, um, the fin that kind
- 27:06of the giant fin that comes out of the water
- 27:09and, uh, sticks inside of it. She's like, oh, God.
- 27:13Thank you.
- 27:14She seems really excited and happy to have somebody standing
- 27:17by to support. Ironically, uh, the
- 27:20Rotund man, uh, standing next to her,
- 27:23fires his arrow and just goes shooting off into the, like who
- 27:25knows where, completely missing the
- 27:28target. Both, uh, of you kind of look over at him,
- 27:31and he's just like,
- 27:33oops, sorry. And, uh,
- 27:36with that, uh, you've kind of created or
- 27:39gone an entire round with, uh, this creature
- 27:42who now swims underneath the boat and you can
- 27:45feel the entire ship move as it does so well,
- 27:48since he needs to evade and observe, because that's the last action
- 27:51on here, he is going to, um, simply
- 27:54dive under the water. You don't see him. And when he comes back up, it looks like
- 27:57he has ripped out all the arrows and harpoons
- 28:00that were stuck inside of him. That doesn't mean that damage hasn't been
- 28:03done. Um, obviously, he still has a couple of gaping
- 28:06wounds from them, um, but he's pulled them out to kind
- 28:08of refresh, uh, himself.
- 28:11Is this crocodile shark, like, a humanoid type
- 28:14thing, or is he ripping him out with his fin?
- 28:16Yeah, he's got, like, claws, kind of like an
- 28:18alligator does, but a little bit more extended.
- 28:22I don't want to say that he has quite a humanoid, but it's
- 28:25a little bit more so than your standard alligator. Like,
- 28:27he's got a little bit more reach. He's also got his
- 28:30long mouth that he can grab things
- 28:33from and pull them out. Um, but given the size of his
- 28:36body, he's able to kind of turn and bend himself
- 28:39in order to reach these spots.
- 28:41Got a lot of these spots.
- 28:43Okay.
- 28:44All right, moving forward, what option,
- 28:47uh, would each of you like to take?
- 28:49I will seize a position.
- 28:52All right.
- 28:55Okay.
- 28:56I will advance and attack.
- 28:58Okay.
- 28:59Anything defensive, I can do. I mean, it's really all about the
- 29:02narrative. So, I mean, if there's an option in
- 29:05there that you want to kind of deviate
- 29:07towards something within the narrative, I mean,
- 29:10you tell me if you see one of the options within defendant
- 29:13maneuver that you feel like
- 29:16fits. He's attacking the underneath our
- 29:18boat. He has swung underneath your boat, and then he has kind
- 29:21of resurfaced on the other side. And he seems to be a little
- 29:24bit refreshed from getting out of the line
- 29:27of fire. Could I do a defensive
- 29:30maneuver, uh, of putting down a
- 29:33defensive net. Net is an option. You could go
- 29:35grab a net if that's what you want to do.
- 29:37Yes.
- 29:37Um, so that is actually an advance and attack,
- 29:41but the things that it
- 29:44does is sort of like
- 29:47a debuff in a sense, I guess you could call it. Again
- 29:50using kind of more go for it.
- 29:51Okay.
- 29:52All right, sounds good. So you'll do advanced attack. What are you
- 29:54doing? Perfect.
- 29:57Is there anything at the front of the ship that I
- 30:00could use to attack with?
- 30:02Possibly, uh, the
- 30:05guy that had his bow and arrow? Uh, definitely.
- 30:07Probably would happily hand it over to you if you asked
- 30:10for it.
- 30:11All right, I'll give it a shot.
- 30:12Okay, sounds good. I'll put you down as advanced and attack.
- 30:15Pretty pleased.
- 30:16Okay. I think at this point, even if
- 30:19he didn't just hand it to you, I feel like your friend
- 30:21that you've just made would just glare at him and be
- 30:24like, anyone's better than you while you're
- 30:27sitting there saying nice things to her. She would just yeah. All right,
- 30:30perfect. So we got some advanced attacks. Dave is going
- 30:33to defend a
- 30:36newer to seize position.
- 30:37Right.
- 30:38All right, Dave, I'm going to kick things off with you. Then go, uh, ahead
- 30:41and make that roll.
- 30:43Aches. Awesome.
- 30:44So that lets you do the season of position. What,
- 30:47um, are you doing to move to a new location? To
- 30:50engage or disengage or overcome
- 30:53negative status decks or danger.
- 30:55So whoa. Thanks to himself.
- 30:59Man, this spell is actually pretty good, but
- 31:01we need more firepower time
- 31:04to pull out all the sacks
- 31:08Eddie runs.
- 31:09Wait a minute.
- 31:10Captain's quarter?
- 31:11No way.
- 31:13All right, well, everyone's pretty dang distracted right now, so
- 31:15nobody's stopping you from running to the captain's quarters and
- 31:18bursting through the unlocked doors.
- 31:21That is what I do. And I scan the
- 31:23room for this
- 31:26alleged sack that
- 31:29Bill was talking about. That's
- 31:31due time.
- 31:32All right, sounds good. You look around the room, you see a
- 31:35number of different things. There's a wardrobe. There's
- 31:38a bed, obviously, um, which, of course,
- 31:41some you think maybe some things could be stored under the bed. You're not
- 31:44sure. Um, there is a small bedside
- 31:47shelf or what do you cabinet. And then
- 31:50there is a chest. Like a large,
- 31:52almost treasure chest esque looking chest.
- 31:55I thought it would have been funny, if you're like.
- 31:57There's a bed, there's a wardrobe, there's a sack of
- 31:59rocks. There's a chest. This
- 32:02particular you don't know where the sack of rocks is? Do you
- 32:05care to look in any of the that could be in
- 32:08any of these things. Which would
- 32:11you like to check?
- 32:16Opens the wardrobe and picks out a funny hat to
- 32:19wear.
- 32:19You find several, and they're all pretty,
- 32:22like straightforward captain hats with big old feathers
- 32:25coming out.
- 32:26I picked the one with the biggest floppiest
- 32:28feather.
- 32:29All right, perfect. You got one with a nice big
- 32:32decorated green. I'm trying to think of an animal
- 32:35to mesh with peacock
- 32:37chunk from goonies who just disappears
- 32:40halfway through, and at.
- 32:41The very end, he just shows up.
- 32:42As a giant pirate.
- 32:45He's like, I'm the captain.
- 32:48Bird horses. But a peacock horse. A peacock horse.
- 32:51Yeah.
- 32:51Okay. Which would explain why it's even bigger than
- 32:54a normal peacock feather. This
- 32:57massive feather coming out of the side of it. It's so gaudy.
- 33:00It's just ridiculous.
- 33:01And then I look in. Open the
- 33:04chest.
- 33:04All right. You open the chest. Actually, you
- 33:07do see a sack of something.
- 33:10It's kind of heavy. It feels like
- 33:13maybe there's, like, some kind of sand or something inside of there. But
- 33:16you grab that. There's, um, also a number of other things. There's some
- 33:18papers, there's some scrolls, there's some maps. There's, um,
- 33:21a couple of fancy
- 33:23goblets, um, maybe even, like,
- 33:26a couple of pieces of jewelry that maybe the
- 33:29captain has taken from previous treasure
- 33:32grabs and kept for himself.
- 33:34I can't know
- 33:37what a, ah, description in
- 33:40my mind of these pieces.
- 33:42Okay. All right.
- 33:43Just for future reference, take anything.
- 33:45Okay, sounds good.
- 33:46All right.
- 33:47So you grab that sack of earth and
- 33:50you rush on out of there.
- 33:52Is this a truck in the sack?
- 33:54Is it actually, yes, it is. It's like
- 33:57a fairly large, like, medium sized sack full of
- 34:00dirt and rock and gravel and so on.
- 34:03It's mostly small rock, but, I mean, with earth bending
- 34:06abilities, you have a lot of leeway with
- 34:08that.
- 34:09And I, uh, run back towards the battle.
- 34:12Awesome.
- 34:13All right, sounds good. You've got your sack
- 34:15and a hat.
- 34:16And a hat.
- 34:17A sack and a hat. The captain's going to be pissed.
- 34:21His two most favorite things.
- 34:24You're going to find out what captain the new captain. The
- 34:27new captain. Everyone's going to be like, all right, captain. He's going to be
- 34:30like, oh, excuse me, I am the captain. And
- 34:33Guo's going to be like, I think I'm the captain. I've got
- 34:36the bigger feather and a
- 34:38sack. What do you got? Um, stupid
- 34:41rock leg. I've got a sack of
- 34:43rocks.
- 34:47And guess what?
- 34:54If some water got on your leg and washed some of it away, you'd
- 34:57be in a real big hole.
- 35:04Are you, like me, a fan of
- 35:06piracy or privateering, um,
- 35:09out in your DND campaign? Well, check
- 35:12this out. We have been working on a brand
- 35:15new airship combat system. That
- 35:17means you and your privateer crew can now
- 35:20take to the skies and pillage at new
- 35:23heights. Within this system, you will
- 35:26get three dimensional dynamic movement and
- 35:29combat rules. You'll get a brand new
- 35:31updated air crew system as well as
- 35:34brand new spells, items, creatures,
- 35:37and example airships for you to use in your
- 35:40campaign, as well as crews to put on
- 35:43them. But I think the coolest part about all of this
- 35:46is we have a custom ship builder
- 35:48application that will allow you to customize and
- 35:51build your very own airship.
- 35:54It means you and your team can have exactly
- 35:57what you want as you take on the skies.
- 36:01If you're interested in any of that, check out our Sky
- 36:03Zephyrs Kickstarter here at Hermion.

- 37:50Thanks for listening. Let's get back to the show.
- 37:56All right, so everybody else was doing advance and Attack,
- 37:59if I remember correctly.
- 38:00Yeah. Okay.
- 38:02Very cool. All right, so anyone in particular would
- 38:04prefer to go first? I
- 38:07rolled. All right, Bill rolled. What do
- 38:10you got? 1010. Oh, all right. Very
- 38:13nice. Okay, so you can pick two nets, apparently.
- 38:16That's right.
- 38:16You can pick up to two techniques. Basic
- 38:19techniques include one of them being the net. What
- 38:22other basic techniques? Well, there's strike
- 38:24pressure, smash pressure.
- 38:27Pressure. Trying, uh, to intimidate the crocodile shark.
- 38:30Yeah.
- 38:30With my really intimidating net.
- 38:32Okay.
- 38:33I'm going to make a loud yelling noise, and
- 38:37he's going to get real scared. So
- 38:40I'm assuming you're throwing the net first
- 38:43before you scare it away. I orders the office,
- 38:46uh, loud noises that scare him into my net. Okay,
- 38:49so basically, with pressure, first of all,
- 38:52you throw the net over, and sure enough, it catches onto the
- 38:55back of this beast that's swimming through the
- 38:58water, um, causing it to start thrashing about.
- 39:01It is now trapped, which is ironic that you're going to
- 39:04pressure it scared away, allegedly. Um, but I guess
- 39:06with pressure, you choose an approach that they cannot
- 39:09choose, uh, in the next exchange. So,
- 39:12wait, when they're trapped, approach being they
- 39:15maneuver, advance and attack, or evade and observe so they can't do
- 39:18any of those? Yeah, you choose one of those.
- 39:21They're trapped.
- 39:22I'm going to do evade and observe so they can't
- 39:26they'll be too scared to try and break out of the net.
- 39:30A combination of three conditions or
- 39:33fatigue to escape. Dang okay. Uh, you
- 39:36said evade and observe or.
- 39:37What did you say?
- 39:38Yeah, evade and observe. He can't take any of those options.
- 39:41Okay. Ah, yeah. Cool.
- 39:43Awesome. Um, he is now unable
- 39:46you make some loud noises and having being trapped,
- 39:49he's freaking out, he's panicking. Uh, he will not be
- 39:51evading and observing. Next. Sandra
- 39:55right, right. Should, uh, make loud screaming
- 39:58noises. Yes, absolutely. Usually the shooting works
- 40:00pretty well from the get go, but the shouting noises doesn't
- 40:03hurt. Fantastic. All right. Brock or Mika?
- 40:06Uh, any preference?
- 40:07I can go.
- 40:08Brock so I still got that second
- 40:10harpoon. So I'll go back up to the deck
- 40:14and, uh, try and harpoon him
- 40:16while he's in the net. Okay. Uh,
- 40:20I just actually needed to see the
- 40:23position. Okay, well, then, that case, I will
- 40:25fire the cannon.
- 40:28Adam so they do have two cannons,
- 40:31um, conveniently on either side, but currently it's
- 40:34on the same side as you shot from before. Um, so
- 40:37you can load that up and fire it. But just keep in mind that if it's
- 40:40on that side again, you'll have to reload the cannons before you
- 40:43can start firing them again.
- 40:44Right.
- 40:44Just something to keep in mind, but yes, absolutely. Go for it.
- 40:47So when I roll just making sure yeah.
- 40:49Do I add that plus two from if it's
- 40:52related to force, which I'm assuming this is sure on
- 40:55top of the passion.
- 40:56Yeah. Okay.
- 40:58Well, in that case, I can get a bit more ludicrous.
- 41:01Uh, I'll fire the cannons,
- 41:04try and finish them off in the nets.
- 41:06Eight. All right.
- 41:07Yes, that's a success. You can definitely fire the cannons, so
- 41:10you do. So, uh, ball again, shoots out
- 41:13of this cannon, slams into the water, knocking it up in the air,
- 41:16preceded by a
- 41:19harpoon that goes flying and jams itself into the
- 41:22netted creature. Uh, everybody else watches as this
- 41:25netted monster comes flying out of the water,
- 41:28flailing about, trying to claw its way out of this
- 41:30net, um, in the mess that it has created.
- 41:33Mika, you come
- 41:36rushing over. What do you say to this guy to get this bow and arrow? Out of
- 41:39curiosity? I know we kind of like hypothetical that
- 41:41situation, but it's funny to act it out.
- 41:44Um, I run over there and I say, hey, dude, give me your
- 41:47bow.
- 41:48Okay? Please.
- 41:51I have no idea what I'm doing.
- 41:53Okay, why don't you go, like, sit in the back of the boat or something?
- 41:56That sounds phenomenal.
- 41:57Okay, bye.
- 41:58All right.
- 41:59Um, why am I taking ordra?
- 42:01I don't know.
- 42:02She told me something I wanted to do anyway, so that works
- 42:04out.
- 42:06Captain.
- 42:08She'S putting her name in the hat. Mcglow is
- 42:11wearing the hat. That's right.
- 42:13I got a three.
- 42:14All right, well, that's a failure unless.
- 42:16You count my reroll. Then I got an eight.
- 42:19Don't count the reroll.
- 42:22Wait, actually, what I will let you do is what we did before, which
- 42:25is you could reroll. So you rolled two ones, right? Yeah,
- 42:27you could reroll one of those ones.
- 42:29Okay, then I got a, uh, six
- 42:32total. That's still yeah.
- 42:36If you would like to succeed, you can
- 42:38move your balance away from center.
- 42:41Which way would I move? I got to choose.
- 42:43You have to move it away from center. So whatever direction it's already
- 42:46headed, you got to keep pushing it, man.
- 42:48I have to go towards friendship again.
- 42:50You got to learn to rely on your friends.
- 42:51Well, if that's the case, as you're readying this
- 42:54bow, the woman next to.
- 42:56You says you're awesome.
- 42:57Wow.
- 42:58She can see that you're a little iffy on it.
- 43:01You're shaking. Uh, probably. Thoughts about
- 43:04your past go through your head and some things that
- 43:07happened which you, as the listener, can find out more about.
- 43:10If you listen to Mika's prequel, there.
- 43:12Is a whole bow and arrow scene huh.
- 43:14But there is a very important bow and arrow scene ah, that, again
- 43:17runs through your head, involving your father, involving some,
- 43:20let's say, failures on your part, um, that may
- 43:22have led to some intense disaster that is now, like
- 43:25I said, flashing through and reminding you of that. And that
- 43:28fear starts to well up inside of you. But then you feel a
- 43:31reassuring hand on your shoulder as
- 43:35this Earthbending woman or Earth Kingdom woman, um,
- 43:38a little bit dirty. Her hands got some gunk
- 43:41on it or whatever. She's got it deep in her nails. But you feel
- 43:44her reassuring you on the shoulder. She
- 43:46says, you got this last fire
- 43:49away. And you fire this shot.
- 43:51I have a whole merida on my side.
- 43:55I did not expect that.
- 43:56But sure enough, it kind of came out that way. If you had the chance
- 44:02to change your balance, would you do it?
- 44:05If it meant hitting the gator shark.
- 44:09Trust the bow.
- 44:11Yes.
- 44:11And you do. And your arrow flies straight
- 44:14into the netted mess that is this gator
- 44:17shark, um, sinking into its
- 44:20form and dealing it. More exhaustion as
- 44:22it flails about in the air. It lands back
- 44:25into the water, um, still entangled.
- 44:29And, uh, it
- 44:31untangles itself, causing even more, uh,
- 44:34exhaustion on itself. And then it quickly turns and
- 44:36starts swimming intensely towards the
- 44:39boat. It is going to also be doing an advanced attack
- 44:42and it is doing a smash
- 44:45it swims towards a boat. I don't have to roll because I'm the
- 44:48DM M and everything I do succeed. Um, he
- 44:51marks another fatigue and he slams into
- 44:54the side of the ship, causing a massive hole to open up
- 44:57inside the hole. Everybody begins to panic as
- 45:00they're thrown about on the ship, um,
- 45:03in every which way. Everybody on the boat
- 45:05has become impaired as it rocks violently
- 45:08back and forth and starts to sort of tip to
- 45:11one side as the ship begins to take
- 45:14damage and take on water.
- 45:16Take on water a little bit. Good thing I can
- 45:18swim, but would.
- 45:20You want to win the water beast
- 45:23inside of it? All right, going into another round?
- 45:26No, I just use the water to.
- 45:27Help me float that's one way.
- 45:31Why bother swimming when I can make the water do all the swimming for
- 45:34me?
- 45:34Exactly.
- 45:36All, uh right, everybody choose your next
- 45:38maneuvers.
- 45:39So what's going on with the ship? Does it have a bunch of
- 45:42holes in it now?
- 45:43Uh, just one that you assume, uh, probably
- 45:46inside, like, the lower deck hole of the
- 45:49ship.
- 45:49Yeah.
- 45:49Where is in relation to the cannons where I'm at right now.
- 45:52So it would be the deck just below yours.
- 45:57Can I jump onto the net, onto the beast?
- 46:00Well, he got out of the net.
- 46:01You can jump on.
- 46:02He has to spend, like, a bunch of exhaustion or other
- 46:05conditions in order to get out of it, but he
- 46:08did.
- 46:09And just to make sure I no longer have
- 46:11any harpoons. Correct.
- 46:13You are all out of harpoons.
- 46:15Well, then I will seize position.
- 46:18Okay.
- 46:18I am also going to, uh, defend
- 46:21and maneuver.
- 46:22All right, we got another defendant maneuver.
- 46:24Can never get tired.
- 46:25Two defendant maneuvers. What about you two? Bill
- 46:28and Mika. What are you guys doing?
- 46:31Not jumping on the oh, that's good.
- 46:34Nobody else I guess there is a net in the water. It's just
- 46:37floating there. It's all slashed up.
- 46:39But they're letting the
- 46:41Internet they want.
- 46:43To see what you made of, uh.
- 46:44Like nobody else is hidden this thing.
- 46:46They are yeah. No, you see people really
- 46:49bad. Well, some of them are very bad,
- 46:52but, um, you do see some of them trying to do things. The
- 46:55captain has the wheel. He's trying to steer it
- 46:58sort of maneuvering around, but also staying
- 47:01within range of the shark, um, the gator
- 47:03shark, and try to keep it so that people can fire at it.
- 47:06And do whatnot?
- 47:09Where's, my friend? Where's Bengo?
- 47:12Uh, Bengo is also kind
- 47:15of near the head of the ship. He's shouting out orders in the
- 47:17captain's dead, so the captain's kind of steering while the
- 47:20first mate is shouting orders, uh, to the
- 47:23crew.
- 47:24Okay, about this gator shark yeah. Is he more gator
- 47:27than he is shark, or is he more shark than he
- 47:30is. Gator.
- 47:31That's a tough one.
- 47:32Can he breathe air like gators can go on
- 47:35land, right?
- 47:36Yeah. Uh, he can do that.
- 47:39Uh, does he have the neck of a gator or shark?
- 47:41He has the neck of a gator.
- 47:43And the head of a gator.
- 47:45Yeah.
- 47:46But kind of a body of a shark with
- 47:49the tail of a sort of a mix in between.
- 47:52Um, and then he's got the sort of army leggy
- 47:55things coming out of the sides like a gator, but they're a little
- 47:58bit more like built and longer so that he can kind
- 48:01of move them around a little bit. But, yeah, he's got, like, some big old
- 48:03muscles. He's a beast of the sea. Uh, but
- 48:06then his, uh, sea beast, if you
- 48:09will.
- 48:09A sea beast. Yeah.
- 48:11And they're webbed, of course, uh, it's a dangerous
- 48:14creature.
- 48:15He didn't know that. I'm impulsive and stupid.
- 48:17I desperately hope we get some cool fan art.
- 48:20I want to, uh, kill
- 48:23it. I want to say that's an advance in
- 48:26attack. I feel like that's what it would fall
- 48:29under.
- 48:31Unless you're yelling that maybe you're trying
- 48:34to oh, yeah.
- 48:38Does he understand English?
- 48:40He understands yelling loud
- 48:43gibberish like many
- 48:45do. Uh, but you don't know for sure whether or
- 48:48not he understands, uh, English
- 48:53staff to the top of the noggin.
- 48:56He might just BOP him on the nose.
- 48:58That's what I'm going to do. BOP him on his nose, uh,
- 49:01next time he shows his big schnau.
- 49:04Okay.
- 49:05Teach him a lesson.
- 49:06Teach him a, uh, thing or two from Gua
- 49:08Lingualing.
- 49:13I believe you have a move for that, don't you? Kind of the what is
- 49:16it?
- 49:17Perry?
- 49:17Uh, don't you have Perry? So if he
- 49:19tries to attack oh, yeah, attack the
- 49:22attack. There you go. This portion of and
- 49:25that's advanced and attack. I say no
- 49:28defending manure. Interesting, because it's my
- 49:30specialty. Remember, I'm a defense
- 49:32specialist, so I'm going to show my thing or two from
- 49:35Guiling. All right, fair enough.
- 49:37All right. Sounds good.
- 49:38Mika, what do you did you decide? I did this dumb on
- 49:41the Wild Coyote bulls back.
- 49:45Um.
- 49:47Well, he can breathe air, so I can't
- 49:50take the water away from.
- 49:51Him and make him well.
- 49:52If you exhaust him to the point where he doesn't have any
- 49:55fatigue left, then he goes down
- 49:58too.
- 49:59I know, but I'm telling you, my ideas
- 50:02are backfiring because I'm asking questions,
- 50:04clarifying questions, and then my
- 50:07ideas won't work.
- 50:08Don't think.
- 50:09Act.
- 50:10Well, it's going to take all the water away from its
- 50:13face, but it can breathe air. So what is that going to
- 50:16do?
- 50:17Drowning.
- 50:19You take all the water and you force it
- 50:22into the nose.
- 50:24Into his nose.
- 50:26He's got the whole ocean worth of water.
- 50:28Alligators have, like, things that close their nose.
- 50:31And I hit it with a one.
- 50:32Two punch right in the nose. Uh,
- 50:35there's also tickle its armpit
- 50:38do you have any ice bending?
- 50:40Dang.
- 50:40I was going to say throw some dirt
- 50:44or I mean, all things considered, you could also
- 50:47flavor some of your basic moves
- 50:50with the idea of, like, I'm going to
- 50:52use water bending in this way to
- 50:55do a strike, or I'm going to use it to
- 50:58smash or whatever the case.
- 51:01I'm, um, going to try to use my water bending.
- 51:03Okay.
- 51:04So I'm using an attack in.
- 51:06All right, so who is doing the
- 51:09defendant maneuver? Uh, Bill is.
- 51:12I'm seizing a position.
- 51:13All right.
- 51:13So we'll go with Brock first, just because we'll go in table order. Brock, go
- 51:16ahead. Do your check. All right.
- 51:18Uh, well, first, um,
- 51:21is he still under the boat, or is he like,
- 51:25where is this guy?
- 51:26Right, okay. Yeah.
- 51:26So he slammed into the boat, and then now he's swimming away. It
- 51:29looks like he might be gearing up to do another one.
- 51:32Okay.
- 51:32So from where I am, do I need to roll first,
- 51:35or I need.
- 51:36To it's better to roll first just because you could totally
- 51:39fail, and that's going to kind of change things.
- 51:40Got you.
- 51:41So is this still considered with force.
- 51:43Or is it I don't think so. If you're just moving
- 51:46through different I mean, what is it your goal is?
- 51:48I guess so my goal is to end up
- 51:51on top of him.
- 51:52That would be seize a position.
- 51:55Okay. I could see how this is what's the alternative to
- 51:58force?
- 51:59Uh, care I guess I could see.
- 52:01How this could be considered force.
- 52:02Sure.
- 52:03Okay.
- 52:04Since you're taking the leap and you're
- 52:06forcing yourself onto it
- 52:09right.
- 52:10I don't like how that sounds.
- 52:12Is that what
- 52:12you're
- 52:15combative way?
- 52:17Yeah. It's up to you. If it's for sure.
- 52:20Yeah, we'll go with it.
- 52:21Okay.
- 52:24That is a six.
- 52:27And then did you do the minus two to, like, physical stuff for
- 52:30impaired.
- 52:31Oh, I marked one fatigue oh.
- 52:32To get rid of it.
- 52:33So I don't think that hit it is
- 52:36not.
- 52:37But, um, you could choose to move.
- 52:39Your balance and for a success.
- 52:42For a success.
- 52:43Might as well.
- 52:44How far are you?
- 52:44I am plus three on the force side.
- 52:47So you're almost over the edge.
- 52:48Yeah, pretty much.
- 52:49I mean, the irony is that what you're doing almost feels like
- 52:52an over the edge kind of action to do.
- 52:55But whatever the case, everybody watches as
- 52:58you leap first. Oh,
- 53:01yeah.
- 53:01Explain.
- 53:02So I go up to the deck.
- 53:03Yes.
- 53:04I grab a couple more harpoons that weigh exactly
- 53:0720 pounds because he knows this.
- 53:09And then proceed to jump
- 53:12onto I try to get on the back of his
- 53:14neck, because fun fact, crocodiles,
- 53:17if you can get the back of their.
- 53:19Necks, it's a gator, not a crocodile.
- 53:22About gators or crocodiles, if you can get the back of their
- 53:25neck, they can't touch you. And also,
- 53:28they don't have enough power.
- 53:29To open their mouths, which is why you can keep them closed with
- 53:32tape.
- 53:33So I grab the harpoons and
- 53:35leap off the boat.
- 53:37Everybody freezes. Everybody on the boat, like,
- 53:40stops for a moment and just stares in kind of
- 53:43awe, but also just like, what in the
- 53:45world? He's insane.
- 53:48And that's where I want to be. All right.
- 53:51And I mount this.
- 53:53You fall through the air and land right on
- 53:57the nape. I was going to say
- 53:59the fin. Uh, that's like, just
- 54:02something you can see from outside.
- 54:04Gotcha.
- 54:06Yep.
- 54:06So I'm on there, and that's
- 54:09all I can do. Right.
- 54:11I can't try and stab.
- 54:12Okay.
- 54:13That's what I do. I'm on the Gator shark now.
- 54:15All right, sounds good. Bill, you're going to be doing the
- 54:18Perry nine nine.
- 54:20Nice. Okay.
- 54:20Did you take into effect seven seven? That still
- 54:23succeeds. All right, so you're doing a Perry,
- 54:26basically, uh, when it attacks if it attacks
- 54:29you, you're doing blow for blow, right? Correct.
- 54:32All right, sounds good. Whoa, wait, did it attack? What
- 54:35happened? Well, it'll attack on its turn. Yeah,
- 54:38allegedly.
- 54:39I mean, you just told it it.
- 54:40Couldn'T have been observed.
- 54:41I was, uh, trying to defend and
- 54:43maneuver a position.
- 54:45Oh, shoot. I'm sorry. I should have gotten to you first, but that's okay.
- 54:48What's your position that you're
- 54:51achieving?
- 54:52Eight.
- 54:53All right, so what's the deal with
- 54:56this Grappling harpoon?
- 54:58Yes, so there is a Grappling gun harpoon.
- 55:01It's like a harpoon M gun with a rope attached to
- 55:04it, and it is at the back end of the boat.
- 55:07So I go up to the guy who's on it, and I
- 55:10say, you're taking too long.
- 55:13Let a guy with a fancy hat take
- 55:16over.
- 55:18Um, I'll have you, um, do
- 55:21a push your luck, but I'm going to give you an advantage on
- 55:24it because you have the captain's hat, and
- 55:27at the very least, it's going to surprise him.
- 55:31All right, well, that does it for sure. He
- 55:34immediately steps back and he's like, all right,
- 55:37wait a minute. But by that point, you've already got your
- 55:40hands on the controls of this harpoon gun, and you're
- 55:43turning it around.
- 55:44I say, good thing I got these sacks of rocks
- 55:47for this,
- 55:49um,
- 55:52harpoon with a rope.
- 55:54Yeah.
- 55:56I'll try to shoot it at the beast.
- 55:58Okay.
- 55:59So that is its own, um,
- 56:01action. Yeah. Okay,
- 56:04perfect. Yep. So that'll be an advanced and attack.
- 56:06Mika, you were going to also do advanced attack,
- 56:09right?
- 56:10Yeah.
- 56:10Okay, cool. So what are you.
- 56:17Going to use? I was going to use my water bending skills.
- 56:20Okay.
- 56:21And squeeze him like a python.
- 56:25Okay.
- 56:25So you're going to use the water that's around him to kind of, like, pressure
- 56:28him in and squeeze him a little bit.
- 56:30All right, perfect.
- 56:30Yeah. Uh, go for that roll.
- 56:33All, uh, right.
- 56:34Really bad today. Do you want to shift your
- 56:37balance? No, actually, it's, uh,
- 56:40four.
- 56:41What? Right.
- 56:41Because you guys are m
- 56:43fatigue well.
- 56:45Either way, I'm still not succeeding unless they shift my
- 56:48balance.
- 56:49Okay, well, here's what I'll tell you. As you stretch
- 56:52out your hands to try to control the water, it's
- 56:55just too strong of a current for you to be able
- 56:58to kind of control this much water. You, um,
- 57:01find it difficult to sort of get a hold on it, which, um,
- 57:04works out in your favor in the sense that this lady
- 57:07doesn't seem to know what you're doing. She's actually a little bit
- 57:09confused.
- 57:10Like, Are you all right there, Les?
- 57:13And, um, because she doesn't see any water, really, like,
- 57:16getting moved around in an unnatural way, she's
- 57:19not going to suspect that you are a waterbender. So there
- 57:22is a positive to that.
- 57:27I watched the bow when he hit the ship, I'm
- 57:30assuming.
- 57:32All right, so, uh, once again,
- 57:36the gator shark is going to swim towards the boat and
- 57:38slam into it. Everybody is shaken
- 57:41again. This, um, time, everybody's grasped down a
- 57:44little bit after the last one. So,
- 57:47uh, you're not impaired. You're not as impacted as before because
- 57:50you've sturdied yourself from the last impact. But you can
- 57:53feel that the ship has been dealt more damage.
- 57:56And, uh, you fear that if it were to take any
- 57:59further damage, uh, you'd be in a bit of a
- 58:02predicament. So, um, jumping back over to
- 58:04everybody, what are we doing next?
- 58:08Oh, he didn't attack you thought he wasn't going to
- 58:10attack me.
- 58:11He knew you were going to parry.
- 58:13No, I knew he was going to attack the boat.
- 58:16Here's what I'll say. Here's what I'll say. I just stood there on the
- 58:19boat.
- 58:19And just stood
- 58:22there.
- 58:23If you want to just stare at him
- 58:26rammed into the side, that's a fair point.
- 58:32If you want to huck a harpoon at him, I'll let you huck a
- 58:35harpoon at him. He did get you don't, uh, have to roll anything. You do
- 58:38it. All right.
- 58:42Come up here. I don't,
- 58:48uh,
- 58:53m.
- 58:56As he slams into the side of the boat, you have an
- 58:59easy shot to huck a harpoon downwards
- 59:02at. It slams into him, almost hitting Brock.
- 59:05Who. You were like, oh, yeah, he's down
- 59:07there. That's Gualing style for you,
- 59:10Basley.
- 59:12Awesome.
- 59:12Uh, all right, everybody choose another
- 59:15technique.
- 59:17Yeah. You do damage.
- 59:17Yeah, I got attacking.
- 59:20Apparently you can't defend
- 59:23the ship all
- 59:24handsome.
- 59:31Tie a rope to make what's, uh,
- 59:35Bill doing? He's going to get a rope tied to him and
- 59:38then jump to the side of the boat.
- 59:42It swims away each time to try to do another.
- 59:47You're going to keel, haul yourself.
- 59:49Yeah.
- 59:51I don't know what I'm going to do.
- 59:53This is dumb. I can't use my stick because it's not long enough.
- 59:56Only I had a giant, like, 20 foot stick.
- 59:59I could look.
- 1:00:04I was just going to say, as you think to yourself,
- 1:00:07if only I had a 20 foot stick, you look over and you see the
- 1:00:10mast of the ship and you.
- 1:00:11Think.
- 1:00:16I grab it 2000
- 1:00:19pounds.
- 1:00:22This is like something out of one piece.
- 1:00:26We're on a boat.
- 1:00:27That's right.
- 1:00:28This is fiction. You're not wrong. So
- 1:00:31far, so big. You don't have a way to
- 1:00:34disassemble the mass from the rest of the ship.
- 1:00:37Just kicks it really hard.
- 1:00:39Really hard.
- 1:00:40All right.
- 1:00:41What if you did the
- 1:00:45one piece? Oh, that's a good one. Instead
- 1:00:48of me doing the bow staff.
- 1:00:50The goal in smart.
- 1:00:51Turn the ship really fast so the
- 1:00:54master but what if
- 1:00:56you assess the situation?
- 1:00:58What here can I use to wield the
- 1:01:01master of the ship as a bow staff? So you just got to roll
- 1:01:04that situation. He can't deny you
- 1:01:06there.
- 1:01:07All he's going to say is you can't, uh
- 1:01:10well, I assessed roll
- 1:01:13with nothing.
- 1:01:14All right?
- 1:01:15That's all they can there's nothing wrong with that.
- 1:01:18You can jump on jump on them with me, then hit him
- 1:01:21with your bow staff.
- 1:01:21Uh, it's funny because I said this to Michaela.
- 1:01:23I said, if I was playing my.
- 1:01:25D D character, I would have instantly jumped on this.
- 1:01:27Right, right. Well, the thing is, this character is
- 1:01:30not an
- 1:01:34done.
- 1:01:35No.
- 1:01:37What are you trying to say?
- 1:01:38He's courageous.
- 1:01:41You're lucky Brock can't hear you from where he's at
- 1:01:44right now.
- 1:01:45Brock is having a time of his life right now.
- 1:01:47He is?
- 1:01:49Yeah.
- 1:01:49So I'll attack him with a heart pound.
- 1:01:52Yeah.
- 1:01:52All right, you do that. What are you doing,
- 1:01:55Mika?
- 1:01:56Um, well, I'm on the back of his neck.
- 1:01:59I don't know.
- 1:02:00You do have more arrows if you wanted to shoot arrows.
- 1:02:03Do I still have my bow or.
- 1:02:04Did I lose it? No, you still have it.
- 1:02:06I'll try that, I guess.
- 1:02:07Okay, sounds good. So is everybody doing advanced and
- 1:02:10attack, then?
- 1:02:11Think so.
- 1:02:12Okay, sounds good. No problem. Um, Connor, we'll start with
- 1:02:15you, broccoli. Standing on
- 1:02:18top of the very beast you all are
- 1:02:20trying to, uh, destroy.
- 1:02:22So I roll a six, seven, 8910
- 1:02:25eleven.
- 1:02:25Holy cow. Well, you got an opportunity to take two
- 1:02:28basic techniques and you have two harpoons in your
- 1:02:31hand. Yeah.
- 1:02:32So I am going to well, first I will
- 1:02:35strike. The way I want to strike is I
- 1:02:38will take the two harpoons and just
- 1:02:41excalibur them nice. Into
- 1:02:44should I do the eyes or the neck? I will excalibur
- 1:02:47them.
- 1:02:47One eye and one neck, please.
- 1:02:50I will excalibur them
- 1:02:53into his neck okay. The both of
- 1:02:55them. And then kind of jump on them to make
- 1:02:58sure that they're like they're really in there.
- 1:03:00Really deep in there.
- 1:03:01All right.
- 1:03:01You jam these deep into the neck.
- 1:03:04Blood starts to shoot out from either side as
- 1:03:07you jam it deeper and deeper, pushing as hard as you
- 1:03:10can and then giving it one more push down
- 1:03:13with your body to make sure that they have
- 1:03:15truly stabbed deep within this creature's.
- 1:03:18Body.
- 1:03:19Um, what are you doing with your second basic technique?
- 1:03:21Second basic technique? So I guess whatever's
- 1:03:24left of the harpoon sticking out, I can
- 1:03:27use Smash to break them off, and then
- 1:03:30I guess I can go for the eyes.
- 1:03:32You'd have some sticks in hand, I guess.
- 1:03:35Yeah.
- 1:03:36Because you just have the ends of the harpoons, but
- 1:03:38yeah, sure.
- 1:03:40Okay.
- 1:03:41Whatever the case, you're snapping off the tips of
- 1:03:44the harpoons inside of the monster
- 1:03:47so it can't just rip the harpoon out and
- 1:03:49be cool. It's going to have, like, literal metal inside
- 1:03:52of its body.
- 1:03:53Yeah.
- 1:03:53And then whatever is left sticking out from the skin,
- 1:03:56I break off and try and jam them in the eyes.
- 1:03:59All right, sounds good. So you got a mark of fatigue,
- 1:04:02but you don't get to jam them in the eyes just yet.
- 1:04:05Obviously, you've used both of your moves.
- 1:04:07Right.
- 1:04:07Um, but smash would allow you to mark a fatigue to
- 1:04:10break these harpoons off. Inside of it, you
- 1:04:13kind of use a mixture of your legs, and then
- 1:04:16I'm going to say that these have, um, wooden
- 1:04:19handles because otherwise I'm going to be really impressed if you're
- 1:04:22able to just kind of kick this
- 1:04:25harpoon and snap it in half.
- 1:04:27Right. I forgot about that.
- 1:04:29No, that's all good. Uh, one way or another, you're able to either use
- 1:04:32its body and, like, the hard scales and just the
- 1:04:34pressure and adrenaline running through your veins to
- 1:04:37break this harpoon, um, so that the
- 1:04:40handles are in your hands. They're, kind know, broken at a
- 1:04:43sharp angle. So you could potentially
- 1:04:46use these later on. Moving on to
- 1:04:49Guo, who's also advancing,
- 1:04:51attacking. You have the
- 1:04:53grappling hook gun. It's not a grappling hook. It's a
- 1:04:56grappling spear gun.
- 1:04:59Doohickey. And you're following
- 1:05:01along as this beast is moving. You're kind of using
- 1:05:04Broccoli as a little bit of a target since he sticks out
- 1:05:07really high.
- 1:05:08Uh, I don't want to hit. Brock
- 1:05:10let's see. I aim for the tail.
- 1:05:13Tail. Okay. All right.
- 1:05:15A difficult shot.
- 1:05:17Yes, definitely.
- 1:05:22Holy cow. Well, you are fired.
- 1:05:25Would you like to do anything in addition to this?
- 1:05:28I blow the feather out of my face.
- 1:05:33This guy is, like, over there, and everything goes
- 1:05:36into slow mo as he's just berating you about how
- 1:05:39you do not have the
- 1:05:42sufficient training to be using
- 1:05:45this device. And you don't care.
- 1:05:49Everything in the background goes completely silent as you carefully
- 1:05:52take aim and fire.
- 1:05:55Pictures like the, uh,
- 1:05:58arcade or the carnival game where you're shooting the
- 1:06:01beam of water.
- 1:06:02Yes, water gun at the target,
- 1:06:06and you've got a dead eye right on the bullseye,
- 1:06:09and your harpoon flies through the
- 1:06:11air. Brock you see it as it comes towards you. You panic a
- 1:06:14little bit. You kind of, like, hide a little bit behind the
- 1:06:17fin just to hopefully make sure that it hits that instead
- 1:06:20of you. But sure enough, GLOW's aim is
- 1:06:23true. And slices right into the tail,
- 1:06:26piercing straight through and sort of like, grabbing on the
- 1:06:29other side because harpoons kind of have that protrusion.
- 1:06:32Um, so it is, like, sufficiently grabbed, you can see the
- 1:06:34rope that leads all the way back over to the
- 1:06:37ship. Um, you have essentially
- 1:06:39lassooed, uh, this beast, Guo,
- 1:06:42and you do get to choose another basic technique if
- 1:06:45you would like to.
- 1:06:46Guo is just going to go grab a
- 1:06:49net okay.
- 1:06:51And get it ready. All right, sounds good.
- 1:06:53I'll allow that.
- 1:06:54It's not technically a move, but I think it makes sense. No, I
- 1:06:57think it works, actually. Uh, before you do that, there
- 1:07:00is like a crank on the gun to kind of, like, pull
- 1:07:03in the rope like a reel. So it's almost like a big
- 1:07:06fishing pole. If you wanted to, you could
- 1:07:08use that as a way of pressuring it to
- 1:07:11keep it from doing, um, a specific maneuver
- 1:07:14next round.
- 1:07:15Yeah. What?
- 1:07:15I was going to try to start reeling.
- 1:07:19Bad boy.
- 1:07:20Um, do you have a preference on something that you don't
- 1:07:23want it to do? They didn't observe attack, advanced attack,
- 1:07:26or defendant?
- 1:07:27Uh, okay, perfect.
- 1:07:31All right, sounds good. Bill, you got
- 1:07:34a harpoon in hand. You just watched as not
- 1:07:37only did your friend, who did get onto the beast
- 1:07:40stabbed into it, but you also saw your other friend
- 1:07:43expertly snipe the creature, which is now
- 1:07:46on a rope, and he seems to be kind
- 1:07:49of wrestling with the rod, trying to pull him
- 1:07:51in. That's a success. You
- 1:07:54hurl that harpoon towards the beast. It flies
- 1:07:57true. Um, Brock is definitely probably getting
- 1:08:00nervous as he's sort of like, pseudo dodging the weapons
- 1:08:03coming from the ship and slamming into it.
- 1:08:06I guess not. But at the same time, he's skilled enough
- 1:08:09to make sure that he's not getting hit. Or maybe the Gator Shark is just
- 1:08:12large enough that it's taken him, um, rather
- 1:08:15than Brock getting hit on top of him.
- 1:08:17That's just par for the course for me. Have I ever thought anything
- 1:08:20through? And have we made it out of
- 1:08:23every situation?
- 1:08:25That's true. Um, Mika, you've got
- 1:08:28your bow and arrow in hand or your bow in hand at the
- 1:08:31arrow at the ready, firing it in.
- 1:08:33Yep.
- 1:08:33For that roll.
- 1:08:34Yeah. Kill it.
- 1:08:36Shooter.
- 1:08:38Shoot, shooter.
- 1:08:41I actually did something useful.
- 1:08:43What'd you get? Nice. So you get to
- 1:08:46actually choose two if you'd like to. You could fire two
- 1:08:49arrows if you want. I'd be down with that.
- 1:08:51Obviously two of them at the same time.
- 1:08:53Oh, all right, that's fine. We'll flavor it that way. So
- 1:08:56you take a second arrow and your Earthbending
- 1:08:59friend is standing next to you and she says, oh,
- 1:09:02you're pretty confident, I see. And you fire both
- 1:09:05arrows, both of them flying towards the Gator Shark.
- 1:09:08Brock, you quickly dodge diving, um, behind
- 1:09:11the fin, uh, that sticks out of the water. Both of
- 1:09:14them right where you were standing moments
- 1:09:16ago.
- 1:09:18Uh.
- 1:09:20It comes down to the gator shark's turn.
- 1:09:23But as you, uh, hold on,
- 1:09:26it thrashes in the water a couple of times and
- 1:09:29it just pulls against the rope that's jammed into
- 1:09:32its tail and it finally just gives up.
- 1:09:35It lays still, uh, in the water.
- 1:09:40Bobbing, there uh, in the water. Guo,
- 1:09:43you're on the end of the gun trying to reel it
- 1:09:45in. The guy that's watching, he's absolutely
- 1:09:48astonished. Um, you're sitting there trying to reel it
- 1:09:51in. You look over and he's just got this big like his mouth is just wide open
- 1:09:54having seen you shoot at its tail. Um, but then he snaps
- 1:09:57out of it. He rushes to your side and helps you start to reel
- 1:10:00it in. And he's shouting out, captain,
- 1:10:03captain, we got him.
- 1:10:04M, we caught him.
- 1:10:06And uh, everybody starts to cheer and they're
- 1:10:08excited as they see this non moving creature. Whatever
- 1:10:11the case.
- 1:10:12Ah, dead.
- 1:10:12Yes, it's dead.
- 1:10:15Um,
- 1:10:17Brock, uh, you're standing on top. What are you doing
- 1:10:20as you stand atop this now dead creature?
- 1:10:23Well, if they're reeling it in, I should probably try and climb
- 1:10:26up the.
- 1:10:26Rope to get okay, so you climb onto it and
- 1:10:29start to kind of shimmy your way back up as the creature starts
- 1:10:32to sink a little bit. And you're like, oh, I'm running out of platform.
- 1:10:35Perfect. So um, the crew eventually
- 1:10:38manages to reel it all the way up next to the boat. And with a little bit of
- 1:10:41help, they're able to pull it on up. They use some more nets, they use some
- 1:10:44more stuff. And sure enough, they pull it onto the ship.
- 1:10:46They lay it out before you. It's this massive, massive hulking
- 1:10:49creature. Sure, the captain pushes his way through the
- 1:10:52crowd and he looks at it and he says,
- 1:10:55well, look
- 1:10:58who got theirs.
- 1:11:00And with that, we'll see what happens to
- 1:11:03the rest of you, having taken out this massive
- 1:11:06beast next time.
