- 1:21Speaker 3: What's going on with you, Peyton?
- 1:23Speaker 4: So I have kind of been on my thrifting kick lately,
- 1:28Speaker 4: and I'm really obsessing over this one specific goodwill that
- 1:33Speaker 4: I go to, but it's on a side of town
- 1:35Speaker 4: that I'm usually never on, So anytime I do find
- 1:38Speaker 4: myself on this side of town, I have to go
- 1:41Speaker 4: to this goodwill. Like it's not a want, it's a need,
- 1:44Speaker 4: Like I need this to fulfill my life. And I
- 1:47Speaker 4: went the other day and I didn't get any luck
- 1:50Speaker 4: on the clothes, because I feel like there's just some
- 1:52Speaker 4: Instagram batty that lives in that area that drops off
- 1:55Speaker 4: all her clothes to Goodwill and I usually fall upon
- 1:57Speaker 4: that lot.
- 1:58Speaker 3: But no luck on the clothes.
- 2:00Speaker 4: But I found my way over in like the little
- 2:02Speaker 4: book section on Goodwill, and I found two books that
- 2:05Speaker 4: were on my want to read list, and I got
- 2:08Speaker 4: it for less than five dollars score.
- 2:10Speaker 3: That's amazing, incredible.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I got the book We Were Liars, which I know
- 2:17Speaker 4: is a show.
- 2:18Speaker 3: It's a really good show.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I couldn't get into it. When I watched So Dark,
- 2:24Speaker 4: that twist was like, I remember, tell you watch it.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I'm really excited. That's going to be a treat. And
- 2:30Speaker 4: then I have where the crowdat scene on.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Their I watched that movie I thought was lame. What's
- 2:38Speaker 3: her friend's name? Her best friend that screwed it up?
- 2:41Speaker 3: His name is like Frogger or something. Hasn't read the
- 2:43Speaker 3: book yet.
- 2:45Speaker 4: I haven't read it.
- 2:45Speaker 3: It's on the want to read. That's so cool. I
- 2:48Speaker 3: think who was in that movie that made a big
- 2:50Speaker 3: deal out of it?
- 2:50Speaker 4: I think it was Harry Styles right or something the
- 2:55Speaker 4: girl or something like one of them.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Wait, wait, no, no, what's the name of the book where
- 3:00Speaker 3: the craw dad sing? Yeah, no, it's somebody else. It
- 3:03Speaker 3: was a big movie.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I was so obsessed with that movie. So you can't
- 3:06Speaker 2: remember who the star wars? I can't remember who? Would
- 3:08Speaker 2: you want to really say? It's so obsessed?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Then yeah, well, I mean we talked about it a
- 3:11Speaker 3: lot on the ship. I remember the I don't remember. No,
- 3:15Speaker 3: I was not.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It was like a big, huge name.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Olivia Newman was that, that's the director, It's Newman, Daisy
- 3:22Speaker 4: Edgar Jones, really, Jojo Regina.
- 3:25Speaker 3: There was something about that.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Harris Dickinson, that's it, Taylor john Smith.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Oh, I was thinking of the don't I was thinking
- 3:32Speaker 4: of don't worry Darling with the hairstyles.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Yeah, No, thrifting could be like there.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I happened upon a reel on Instagram just the other
- 3:41Speaker 1: day of this guy who was like he found this
- 3:43Speaker 1: like clutch. It might have been at a good will
- 3:46Speaker 1: or another thrift store, and he was doing one of
- 3:48Speaker 1: those things where they were like telling him how much
- 3:50Speaker 1: it was worth. And it turned out that it was
- 3:52Speaker 1: actually like an old vintage Cardier clutch and was like
- 3:57Speaker 1: could be auctioned off for like sixty thousand dollars something
- 4:00Speaker 1: like that.
- 4:00Speaker 3: He paid a dollar fifty.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. I only had one thrifting incident where
- 4:06Speaker 4: somebody's like, I want what you have and I found
- 4:08Speaker 4: it was these pair of jeans and I think they
- 4:10Speaker 4: were from like the sixties or the seventies or something,
- 4:12Speaker 4: because the way that the tag was. I had the
- 4:14Speaker 4: wash instructions for one, it just like looked really like
- 4:17Speaker 4: old imaging and just the style of the jeans. I'm
- 4:20Speaker 4: in the line of the Goodwill and the lady goes,
- 4:22Speaker 4: I'll buy those for eighty bucks off of you right now,
- 4:25Speaker 4: and I was like, what, No, these are mine.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I got them for like five I found them. Turn
- 4:32Speaker 3: it around the time I did.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I wanted the gens you turn it around like without
- 4:35Speaker 2: investing anybody.
- 4:36Speaker 1: But wouldn't that make you want to investigate them? Like
- 4:38Speaker 1: how much are they actually worth? Because what does she
- 4:40Speaker 1: know that I don't know?
- 4:41Speaker 4: And I did. I looked them up because there's like
- 4:43Speaker 4: a couple of pairs like on Poshmart, and I think
- 4:45Speaker 4: they're going for like one forty, which is like a
- 4:47Speaker 4: nice pair.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Look what's on the news right now? We are
- 4:50Speaker 3: so top of it. Back thrift stores. They're live at
- 4:54Speaker 3: the thrift store. Oh my gosh, I feel like they were.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Live literally thrift store. Talk about back to school. While
- 5:00Speaker 2: we're talking about my son Christopher want to go for supplies?
- 5:04Speaker 2: Was a thrift store to get old stuff?
- 5:06Speaker 3: Okay, so I'm a I like thrift store stuff.
- 5:08Speaker 2: In fact, I have a bunch of my stuff that's
- 5:10Speaker 2: that's for sale at it's my sister's closet, but it's
- 5:13Speaker 2: called something else well suited.
- 5:14Speaker 3: That's where my stuff, A lot of my stuff is.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And I like. I like when I can borrow something
- 5:19Speaker 2: from a friend or a friend gives me something. I
- 5:21Speaker 2: don't like new clothes. But now this is what just
- 5:24Speaker 2: happened to me. I kind of remember, I'm going currently
- 5:27Speaker 2: going through a hiking phase. When the weather's nice, I
- 5:30Speaker 2: like to go hiking with this buddy of mine. And
- 5:31Speaker 2: I bought these hiking shoes because I googled, I have
- 5:34Speaker 2: high arches, what's a good shoe? And I got I
- 5:36Speaker 2: found this one shoe and the brand was New Balance,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and I love that. And I hiked for a year
- 5:42Speaker 2: or so and they started getting beat up and torn up,
- 5:43Speaker 2: and I tried to find the newer version of it.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I couldn't the same version, So I bought the newer
- 5:48Speaker 2: version of the shoe, and it's it sucks they changed it, right?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Why didn't they do that?
- 5:52Speaker 3: So I was like, damn it.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So I was sitting there bored online one day and
- 5:56Speaker 2: I was like, I wonder if I could find just
- 5:58Speaker 2: one of the like stock acts or something has it.
- 6:00Speaker 3: So I found my shoe on the I can't remember
- 6:03Speaker 3: the bummers. I can't remember what apple was on.
- 6:06Speaker 2: But I bought the shoe and they came in the
- 6:07Speaker 2: mail and they were wrapped in plastic, and I was
- 6:09Speaker 2: like sweet. So I'm going away to go a couple
- 6:13Speaker 2: of days. I'm going to go on a hike with
- 6:15Speaker 2: some friends. So I'm we're in a cooler area. I'm like,
- 6:17Speaker 2: I better try on these shoes. And they're wrapped them plastic.
- 6:21Speaker 2: So I get the shoes out and I rip up
- 6:22Speaker 2: in the plastic and they look a little different because
- 6:26Speaker 2: they're used.
- 6:27Speaker 3: They had like dirt on them and stuff. The sentime.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I didn't know of buying used shoes. Now, I don't
- 6:34Speaker 3: have a problem.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Like I said, I like thrifting, but I was mentally
- 6:37Speaker 2: prepared for a new shoe right And and then when
- 6:40Speaker 2: I put them on, they were so comfortable, and they
- 6:42Speaker 2: were like broken.
- 6:43Speaker 3: It was like there's dirt on the bottom, there's dirt
- 6:46Speaker 3: on the side.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Yeah, And I was like what, I think they attempted
- 6:50Speaker 2: to clean them, but they didn't take them.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But I didn't know I was buying a used shoe.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Like you're going hiking, we have he spoke to these
- 6:56Speaker 2: for your hiking. I'm sittter thinking, I hope I paid
- 6:59Speaker 2: a low for them. I don't remember what I paid.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I just know I wanted the shoes, but I also
- 7:03Speaker 2: did it two months ago, so I don't know. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 2: so it's like I can't I can't like track them down. Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 2: but speaking of goodwill, this is very important. Uh So,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I guess a good Will in Tucson had to evacuate
- 7:20Speaker 2: because someone donated a grenade. It was not real and
- 7:25Speaker 2: no one was in danger. But now things, a list
- 7:28Speaker 2: of things are going viral. The Goodwill doesn't want. Besides grenades, Okay,
- 7:32Speaker 2: there's things they don't want. They don't want old newspapers.
- 7:36Speaker 2: They don't want encyclopedias. They don't want oxygen tanks for
- 7:39Speaker 2: scuba diving. They don't want propaying tanks. They don't want
- 7:42Speaker 2: built in appliances like dishwashers. They don't want tires. They
- 7:45Speaker 2: don't want office cubicles. They don't want construction materials. They
- 7:49Speaker 2: don't want hot tubs. They don't want water beds. They
- 7:52Speaker 2: don't want carpeting. They don't want chemicals in paint. They
- 7:55Speaker 2: don't want bowling balls, they don't want wet stuff, and
- 8:00Speaker 2: then number one thing, they really don't want broken stuff.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Yeah, all right there.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Hey, you got a cool thrifting story, shoot us a
- 8:07Speaker 2: text text JJR or whatever your thrifting story is to
