- Alex: good morning everyone. man, we The soccer season hasn't started yet. So we're doing practices on Saturdays because it like beat the heat. And Marcus: Yeah. Alex: we have enough going on during the weekdays. It just makes sense because he's like, let's just let's just do it on Saturdays. but the problem with that is like some of the other siblings of families have started their sports. So we were at that Denton Rodeo last night. And we got back and like as we're walking in the door, Casey's telling me, hey, by the way, so and so is gonna be here at 7 30. I was like, why? And they're like, well, sister has another game, so we're gonna take home to soccer practice. And I was like, Okay, whatever. Then she was like, yeah, so is so-and-so. Like that they're coming over too. I was like, so we have we have two. Marcus: we have enough cars? Jason: my gosh. Alex: five year old girls coming to the house at seven in the morning. Okay. That that sounds fun on four hours of sleep. Marcus: Very nice. Jason: Yeah, that'll wake you up or piss you off. Alex: So apparently we're apparently we're taking a couple, yeah, we're taking a couple of little girls too. Well the the problem is like with the boys, I'm like the intimidating dad. With the girls, it's like the playful uncle type, like because I just mess with them and pester them Marcus: you Alex: constantly and I don't really discipline. So anytime they come over, they're constantly just wanting to play. Like i it's Marcus: Yeah. Alex: so they just bother me. Marcus: Feel that? Alex: They they don't leave me alone. Jason: Wow. Hey, but that's that's fun. It it's a brief moment in time. Alex: It is. I'm gonna need more coffee for today though. Like that that's for sure. I'm starting the day nice and early. Jason: Yeah. just a side side note, on you know, you have to transport kids for soccer or other family kids. It's gotten so crazy that we had a whole discipline process at the beginning of the school year that one w one, it's always been a policy that we're never to carry students in our personal vehicles. Like that's said and done. But Alex: Makes sense. Jason: now they've extended it. So I so like there's like parents who have kids of the same age and they're like full full on family friends, everything, but the rule now states like if the cheerleaders are at the football game and Susie wants to bring Sally home and their family friends are like that, parents don't have to sign a special permission form saying that Susie's mom can bring Sally home now. And it's gotta be on file from any school event. Even if it's family friends or anything. So it's getting tighter, so you can't just say, I know them, hey, jump in, I'll take you home type thing anymore. Yeah. Alex: Yeah, it's like daycare. Because daycare you have to be on the list to pick up a kid. That's funny. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: Huh, that's crazy. the world is a is an interesting place. all right, well, boys, we we took a unexpected week off there. my rodeo schedule picked up, so I was out of commission last weekend. and honestly, again, this weekend, you two were going to record, and then I know. Of stuff happened and didn't end up recording without me. so a little unexpected week off, but we're back now. Today we're gonna dabble in some coffee talk. it is bright and early. sun hasn't even come up. I know it looks like nighttime, but it is six o'clock in the morning for us. I'm running on like four hours of sleep from the rodeo last night. So we're gonna have a little bit of coffee talk. Jason's gonna educate me here and some pour over. we're gonna talk a little bit about the new PGA structure for 2028 for the playoffs. that finally came out. I know it's been highly anticipated over the last few weeks when they announced the challenger championship or whatever they're calling them. tours that start I think same year, twenty twenty eight, is when Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: that new league starts as well. What else are we going what else was on the agenda, boys? we're talking a little bit about the good good situation. that's near and dear for multiple reasons. one, they're in our backyard. I mean they they office fifteen minutes away from where where two of us live. and two, it's in the golf world. So we'll we'll we'll just start there. So let's let's start with some coffee talk, Jason. You know, I'm sitting here sipping on my cure rig and telling you it's not strong enough. I'm gonna need an espresso after this. Jason: Yeah. Alex: So t tell me Jason: Well Alex: about the world of Pour Over. Marcus: Yes, what is pour over coffee? Jason: Yeah, I wish it was like full on setup. I can have a whole display and a demonstration for you guys, but it's all like Alex: You knew we were talking about it. I'm a little confused why you didn't do this. Jason: set up in the kitchen and and trying to be as quiet as possible. But no, I mean so the pour over thing is just it's always been around. I only started dabbling it during COVID because we had cured pods, I think, left over, but our machine broke and I was like Dude, I want some coffee. So look researched it up and found out it's like a huge thing. So Chemex I think has been around for a long time. You guys know what that Chemex bottle is or coffee pot. Like it's like hourglass triangle. Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: So got it into it and then messing around. I'm gonna tell you first off, like if you do it right, it is the best tasting coffee hands down. Like for me. Like it just Even the espresso, the Kerigs, r regular pot, the pourover just has just a different taste. But you have to do it right. So that's where the whole process comes in. You need a good grinder, unless you're gonna buy pre ground. And what's your plan on that? Alex: I have look, I have no plan. We I made it this far. with back to school and Bella being gluten free, there's only so much she can eat for lunch. So Casey bought one of those like electric I guess kettle's the best way to say it. It has the hot plate and it has the thing you put on Jason: Yeah, the E carols. Yeah. Alex: top of it and it it boils the water. So that we could heat up like a thermos and send her with warm food as well, because she can't microwave food at school as a kindergartner, but she can't Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: she can't eat a sandwich every day, right? She's gluten there's only so much bread she can eat. So so Casey got that and I was like, Okay, that's cool, whatever. But then the kids stayed at my sister's house last weekend. And I had to take Bella for horse r horse riding, which is near my sister's house. So I went up there and had breakfast with them. And they had one of those a little fancier than the one Casey bought. Casey bought a cheap one because it was literally just to heat up a thermos, essentially. Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: But my sister had one that had like a temperature gauge on it, so she knew exactly when to pull the water and all this stuff. And she made a pour over coffee and I was like, okay. I didn't I didn't know if that's what that was for. We just literally use it for heating up a thermos. That's awesome. And then I was asking her about it. Like she I was like, This coffee has a hint of pecan. Like I know what the heck I'm talking about. And she was like, No, it actually does. It's from H E B. I was like, cool, cool, cool. So, anyways, I made it that far Jason: Yeah. Yeah. So Alex: and I texted Casey, I was like, Hey, maybe we should consider this. This is kind of cool. Casey likes her cured coffee and she puts creamer and stuff in it anyway. So I don't Jason: Down. Alex: think that's ever gonna change, but Jason: Yeah. It's the same as life show but it's like Alex: But that so that's as far as I made it. And I literally texted you and said, If one wants to get into poor over coffee, where do they start? And you were like, We could talk on the pod. Thanks. Like, cool. Okay, Jason: Yeah, no, it's Alex: so now we're on the pod, so Marcus: Yes. Jason: Yeah. No, the the whole thing is like you can buy ground coffee or even places can grind it for you. So it's a kind of like a medium ground. So that's usually what most of are. But the difference is like I went and bought a Alex: Do do you like do you like grinding, Jason? Jason: I do like grinding. I got a nice white grinder. Alex: Mm. I knew I knew that about you. Yeah. Marcus: on the line. Jason: and the only reason why I went that direction, 'cause I like to buy the whole bean. And it they stay a little bit fresher longer than already the pre-ground coffees. so Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: we don't go through it that fast. So that's one negative for us. We wouldn't go through it as fast, so we would lose some of the taste and even some of the beans just because it's just it takes a while. So that's one negative. So you start the water, like I got the e kettle that has the temperature gauge, which is actually really important because certain roasts, certain flavors actually optimize at certain temperatures of water and it can range from anywhere from one ninety to like two five. So depending on where you buy it from, like I used to have a little subs it's not a subscription, but the company I bought all our bike gear from says, Hey, we have a specific drop, you know, these are kind of like custom things. They all give a roasting guide, brewing guide, and all that stuff. So That's how you kind of follow. Then it comes down to water ratio, making sure you have the correct balance of water to the grounds. And the whole setup I got from Fellow, F-E-L-L-O. And it's really cool with their stuff because they have little dot matrixes that says, just put your grounds level to this dot from one cup, two cups, and then it takes it that math out of the way. So that's the the cool part about it. But I would just pour it. Just be like, okay, we're good. And like, okay, there's something wrong here. Then I started reading. Get it the grounds damp, so it just barely drips through. It's supposed to bloom for thirty seconds ish to a minute to get the flavors released. Then you pour again, but you can't pour it so fast that it has a huge water level above it and slowly drip down. So it's like a couple minute process depending on how much you make. So if you got the time and the patients just sit there and just kind of and I like 'cause it's it's a little therapeutic. It starts remark walling off a little slow. You just nice and easy, pour it through. And then of course, if you want to get the filter pre wet, damp, like they recommend, you can. I never did. but it all comes down to right finding the right bean, the right roast that you prefer. Now the strength of the coffee is again you can always add a little bit more water or less water to help bolster it. But it's Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: truly like some of the smoothest and most flavorful. Like you know, like you just said, the pecan notes. You get most of that almost all the time compared to like the pods. We're like, you got all these flavors in these pods, and like, you don't taste it as much. And then the big kettle pots, you don't always taste it as much. So if you want more of the craft coffee, you've got time, kinda like a French press. You have to sit there, let it simmer, Alex: Yeah. Jason: brew for a little bit. It's the it's a way to go. I mean, I would love to get back into it, but the time to try to do that process grinding the beans or even if they're pre done, scoop it out. The e kettle takes thirty seconds to heat up and then Alex: Yeah, that's the easy part. Jason: You go through the process. And then I've Alex: See I I'm just a Jason: gotten distracted where it's like, crap, miles, and then I forget to pour it again. And so you lose a little bit of flavor there sometimes. But if you go too fast, you don't get flavor, go too slow, it just doesn't quite come out the same. Alex: See, I'm just a dumb construction guy and like I'm used to folders black baked into the coffee pot. Like I don't so I d I don't know. That seem seems like a lot of seems like Marcus: It's probably dirt. Alex: a lot of work. Jason: It's it's a little bit of work, but you did say you liked the coffee at your sister's place. Alex: Yeah, I mean it d it definitely tasted good. I just don't know if the taste is worth the work. but Casey did send me Casey did send me the other day, Jason: Right. It is it is a little Alex: do you know the brand Brewmate? Like Jason: I've seen and I haven't messed with. Alex: so apparently Brewmate makes a pour over like Yeti cup essentially, where it has like the the pieces, the inserts that go in. So you could do a Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: pour over and a pour straight into that, and then you take that piece off and you put the cap on and your pour over coffee's ready. Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: I was like, that's kind of cool. The only problem with that is like you have to use that cup every time you do a pour over unless you invest in the pour over stuff as well. I don't know. I I don't know if I'm ready for it. This seems seems like a commitment that I'm not ready for. I have commitment issues. Jason: It's it's a little bit of commitment. I mean, I've seen Marcus: You Jason: the ones where it's like you talked about it, it's got like a it's like a whole like thermos unit and it's like you got the hot water in it and then or it heats up the hot water, but it can grind it and make an espresso and it's like one capsule. I was like, but that's all it makes and like you said, you're stuck using that one specific piece every time. And I was like, Nah, Alex: Yeah. Jason: not worth it. Alex: Yeah, it's it's yeah, I don't know if I'm ready for it. so we'll see. we'll we'll we'll see on that one. side note, do y'all see this freeloader right here? That's Jason: Yeah. Alex: just like rubbing her head and her eyes keep glaring and distracting me. Like, look at this thing. She's Jason: Well, your soundbite bars are right on the head, but I know I've seen seen her over there. Marcus: there's a shadow, yeah. Alex: yeah, that's funny. Yeah, she's just she followed Marcus: She's in the shadows. Alex: she followed me upstairs. now it's bath time. Anyways, so moving on. PGA. PGA as my coffee slowly kicks in. The Marcus, I don't know if you've seen I know Jason and I Jason hadn't seen it, and you said you were on your way, which we really didn't actually know what that meant because like I don't feel like you to drive to the podcast. So Jason: Yeah. On your way. Alex: I mean it it's it's a tough walk from bedroom to pod room. Marcus: I a morning ritual, so I getting regular and then I was on my way to do the podcast. Alex: on my way is still an interesting way to say I'm walking to the room to do the podcast, but we're gonna anyways, while you were doing that, Jason had time to look up the the playoff structure. Have you had time to see the playoff structure? Marcus: Yes, I saw the quick video that the PGA, I guess the with the whole drawing and the caricatures and all that. Alex: Yeah. Marcus: It's pretty good. I like that. Alex: Yeah, I mean, I think they blended the best of all worlds. So, just Marcus: Yeah. Alex: to line out what what the structure is. starting in 2028, which is the same season that the Challenger series and the championship series are I can't is it the championship series? Is what they're calling it? I can't remember. Well, I know it was ch I know the lower one is Challenger. I think Challenger and Championship. Jason: Think signature and champion. I think signature is or Challenger, okay. Marcus: Yes. Yeah, I think it is championship. Yeah. Alex: So same same time frame that that is starting. The playoffs is starting in week week Marcus: with the relegation and all that. Alex: one is a 72-hole stroke play, which is the season ending regular event essentially. Week two is 32 players in a three-round group stage. So eight groups of four, and the top two from each group advanced 16 total. Marcus: Mm-hmm a little bit of soccer got it Alex: And week three is a bracket style match play at a different course. So I like that they kept the three course. Like it's three weeks, three different courses. Like that's pretty cool. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: and then yeah, they do a 32 players. So it's kind of yeah, it's a world cup esque, right? You have pre pre this year, because before this year it was only 32 teams, not sixty-four teams. So prior to that it was always thirty two and it was sixteen that advanced then dwindled down from there. Marcus: Hmm. Alex: So it is it essentially the world cup structure. Kind of a little group stage, which I d I'm interested in what the group stage is. So is that just like you're in a pod and the Marcus: Yeah. Alex: best it's just stroke play and the best two scores from the stroke play move to the round of 16? That that's how I read it. Marcus: No, I think, well, because they had that graphic up, you play each person every single day. Yeah. Alex: it's like a pool play. Marcus: Yeah. Jason: Yeah. Marcus: That's why I was like, yeah, that's. Alex: Then how do then how do you have ties? Is the tie like if 'cause there's three, Marcus: Probably. Alex: so if if you have two people that are two and one. Jason: the top sixteen, Marcus: Hmm. Jason: so half of them go. So if there's Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: Yeah, but it says ties by sudden death playoff. So in your in your pool, so four guys all play each other and say everyone Marcus: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Jason: Mm. I don't think that'd be possible. Alex: ties each other. So it's er everyone is well, yeah, because if I play you and I play Marcus and we have another guy and all of us finish all square in a match, then we're all one one one. Jason: Well then they they do the they do the playoff. Right. It says they do the top two players. Alex: So you force Okay, so same thing. I we have three guys. I beat you and the other guy and I lose to Marcus, but Marcus loses to you but beats me, we'd both be two and one in our three matches. So how do him and I well, I guess we would be the top two in the group then. Jason: Yeah. Alex: So either way, both of us are gone. Okay. But then who how would you seed which one is better? Jason: Yeah, it literally says it says it's World Cup format. So I whatever structure they have it it probably does break down to where of those groups, two from each group get to move on to the knockout stage. And then that's a match play. Alex: Interesting. Marcus: And I bet you probably bring in the maybe the golf rankings like if you do have that one to see who's the higher seed lower seed maybe. I don't know. Jason: Okay, so week two so it's very specific. Says week three is a match play competition. Week two it just says a round robin group stage, but it doesn't say the format at which they're playing. It doesn't say stroke play or match play, at least in the snippet I'm looking at. Alex: According to Claude, because I'm not gonna sit and research while we're on this, Jason: Yeah. Alex: it says week two is a stroke play. Eight groups of four, everyone plays own ball, blah blah blah. Marcus: Okay. Alex: And it's just cumulative scores in the top Jason: Okay, so then Marcus: So, gotcha. Alex: two players go. And if there's a tie between the top two, they play in a sudden death playoff. Jason: Okay. So my impression is is just like if you and I finish tie and we're in the early stages, it's like either they keep the tie and you award you one point with like one point each, or do you and I go to like a nineteenth hole to see who in a winner officially becomes? Like a penalty kicks. Alex: A are you talking about second round? Jason: Yeah. Alex: Yeah, so second round, I think you're in a group of four and you're essentially just playing a small tournament against just those guys and fighting for the top two spots. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Jason: Or does it is it like a maybe like a no, I was just thinking like stroke accumulation like for that group you're negative thirteen in all your matches and someone's negative fifteen, but it doesn't look like it does that. Alex: Yeah, no, it's just your cumulative score within that group decides who finishes top two. So it's just you're playing against three guys for a weekend instead of the whole field. Jason: Well, if they point format it like World Cup, like three win three points for the win, one for the tie, those points automatically will differentiate the one, two, three, four. Alex: Yeah, they they would do that too. I mean, yeah. But so it it's an interesting structure for sure, because they kind of blended they blended the the stroke play system with match play in a way that it's a very creative way. and this is why I always joke, like we've said on the podcast they should do match play. It was never our idea, it's other people. I don't think anyone's thought about doing a hybrid structure like Soccer does, and it makes total sense because you have you have these stroke plays, and you would assume a Scotty Scheffler is gonna perform pretty well. So you'd assume anyone that's in the top is gonna probably perform pretty well in the stroke play stuff. And then you get to the match play where really anything can happen. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: And if I remember, they were Jason: Yeah, mm-hmm. Alex: gonna reward or award. the season long winner, I'm assuming after week one of this, because it says that week one is kind of the season ending regular event. And they'll award the season points winner after that. And then you go straight to almost a two week playoff. Jason: So the season point winner, they're not the FedEx champion. The FedEx champion is after that week three. Alex: I don't the season point winner doesn't exist right now. So I'm assuming they're gonna call Jason: Okay. Alex: it something else. I don't know what they're gonna call it. They're gonna have to change the name for both of these. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Jason: Yeah. Alex: Cause one's gonna be the season long winner. It's kinda like, Yeah, what sport am I totally blanking on right now that does this where they someone is the season points winner, Yeah, I'm totally blinking. what sport it is. But someone's a season points winner and then someone is the overall like called the FedEx Cup champion because the FedEx Cup is week three. I don't know. But something like that essentially. Jason: Yeah. No, I mean I like this. It balances it out. It it essentially levels the playing field, giving everybody who's played well to this point a fair chance of coming out as the winner. Alex: Well yeah, and the question was how are you gonna have a bunch of match plays on one weekend and make good television? Okay, well you have a round of sixteen, so that's one round. The next day you have a round of eight, the next day you have your semifinals and the day Marcus: Mm-hmm. It's gonna be fine. Alex: after that, so that's four days right there. They could Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: even make it two days if they wanted to cram two matches into each day so that it makes for better television and it's less dead air. 'Cause I think that's always the concern is during a match play, Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: there's so much dead air between shots because you don't have another match to go to when it's only two guys. Like you're what are you gonna do? Watch the guys walk down the fairway and get to their ball and so I think they're still gonna have to solve for that 'cause it's kinda like the Ryder Cup. When you get to those last few groups on the singles, like Marcus: you Alex: Or even I don't know if y'all have ever watched the amateur championship. Marcus: I've watched the college championships. Yeah. Alex: College is kinda similar 'cause they do match. but yeah, like if if you've ever watched the amateur tournament, it's very similar. The the last round, it's it's a decent amount of commercials, and it's a decent amount of just dead air almost. Because the people are just w there's the only two guys. So there's only so much you can talk about in that. Like it's a lot of analyst talking, so They're still gonna to solve for that in that last two rounds, anyways, because Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: you have all of four guys playing and two guys playing, but it it's it'll be interesting how they structure it over the span of a weekend, too. Especially at this time of year, because I'm assuming they're gonna wanna finish this time of year when before football's kicked up and all that fun stuff. Jason: Yeah. I guess yeah, six it just depends. I mean they can group them, they can also do a shotgun start or back nine, front nine, and so there's like more matches going at once, kinda like there's more consistent flow instead of just waiting for first T go, first T go. Alex: Yeah. I I don't know. I don't know what what they'll do there. Jason: I mean but it it's gonna be it's gonna be good though because it's gonna get those players thinking and strategizing much differently. More pressure different than a different type of pressure. Alex: Mm-hmm. Yeah, but you are right that they could shotgun Marcus: Yeah, that was... Alex: it in theory, because it doesn't matter. You're not playing anyone else in the field, you're just playing the guy that you're on a hole with. So whether y'all start on a par three or a par four, it doesn't doesn't impact anyone from because you're both going to prepare and plan for the same 18 holes regardless, whatever structure that is. Jason: The only difference is if it's match play, if you get the back nine, that may maybe give an advantage to somebody because they could finish, you know, whatever it takes to finish eighteen match play. Like nine holes, it's like if you win five, you win, but what's ten? Or nine, straight nine or something like that. You Nah, I think it'll still work. 'Cause none of these guys are gonna Alex: Yeah. Jason: outright blow anybody away. Alex: No, I don't think so. So it'll be it'll be interesting. you know I think with all of the live stuff happening, I think this is it's giving the PGA an opportunity to really change and be the tour officially, you know. Jason: Alright, so I I gotta push with the lifting. So I don't follow it enough, but so obviously the Piff backed out and then there's supposedly this new silent investor was gonna keep him afloat. But now everything I've seen, it's seems like it's still gonna be finished. And these guys are now gonna leave. So what's the where where is it at? Like what is actually happening? Do you guys know? Alex: I don't think anything's official. I think they're still talking about it. I know that they ended the season early. And it's it's that was questionable in and of itself because it essentially like anyone could have won it. It wasn't like in the past where they've had to dwindle down. But I don't know the league itself, I don't think is falling apart. I think they're still figuring that out. that lead investor is supposed to help fund, I think, 2027. So I think they're still at least playing one more year under some sort of restructure. But I mean they're losing people because I think I saw Bryson posted something the other day that said something along the lines of it was a good run, which would allude to him leaving leaving live. I don't know if if he's gonna come back to the PGA or if he's gonna go YouTube. So I don't think there's a resolution there. you know I know is it John John Rom, I think s Jason: To Alex: struck a deal Or is in negotiation Jason: With D P. Alex: with PGA to come back. Jason: Okay. Alex: And I wanna say Tyrell Hatton is part of that conversation because those two play on the same team and are good friends. Jason: I think I saw Rom do somet say something about or it posted that he's gonna be f almost full time DP next year or play more events next year. I don't know about the PGA. Alex: Yeah. So I think he's okay, so DP. So i yeah, so I think he's working on a way back. So I mean they're they're definitely gonna lose some of their star power, which is gonna hurt them. Jason: I think Poulter and Westwood I think also said they've now started filing to into more D P events. Alex: makes I mean that's essentially what Patrick Marcus: and Alex: can't or not Patrick Reed is doing. He's playing D P to until his yeah, Jason: keep his points or whatever. Alex: until his suspension or Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: whatever whatever they call it is up. so yeah, the this whole Liv thing is still fluid, but I think with Liv struggling to find a path forward, it it's PGA's just gonna capitalize on that and take those people back and create more interesting and exciting playoff structures. And again, they've already s they've already talked about the two tiered system with Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: with their actual players in twenty twenty eight. So Marcus: Yeah, I think this adds, because there's not all the time where you get some drama at the end of the season. I think this will add it just naturally, anybody can win. Alex: Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Mat match play is it's fun. it's Marcus: Yeah. Alex: fun to watch. I I I really enjoy watching it. They got rid of that WGC Austin tournament that Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: used to be match play, the Dell, whatever. and I think the only match play they have now is isn't it Zurich? Isn't that one match play? It's a two person team. Marcus: Yeah, the one in Louisiana. Jason: it's a team. Alex: Yeah. Jason: Zurich's a team team play alternate and best ball or something. Alex: No, yeah, sorry, it's team play. So it's not even, yeah, it's not even match play, it's just alternate. Excuse me. speaking of Austin, Good Good's tournament is in Austin at Horseshoe Bay. Jason: It's not good good anymore. Marcus: you Alex: and it's not good good anymore. I was waiting for one of you to make the bad, bad joke. Marcus: How much? No, that's too easy. That's too much of a low hanging fruit. Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: Or Marcus, we aren't better than that. You know this. Marcus: you Jason: Yeah, we're past that point. Alex: Yeah, a lot of fallout. We have not talked since all this came out. and it's been, I mean, it's been all over. It's been all over my feeds. Marcus: Yeah. Alex: man, the the fallout has been big. And I think if we just take the commercial as the commercial, like I don't think I'm in touch with the youth. I think that's what I learned from that. Marcus: I had no idea what it was about. Alex: I I had no idea what it was about. I just knew it was a horror spoof. And I like watched it. And even if like I ignore the first 10 seconds of the video, which is where all of the frustration is. even if I just ignore that and say, what the what the heck was that? The rest of the commercial was shit. Like it was terrible. Like I was this is what what is the point of this? Marcus: It was not good good. Alex: No, it was not. It was it w Jason: It was bad, bad. There Marcus: Hehehehehe Alex: There we Jason: you go. Alex: go. We got it. yeah, dude, it was Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: it was not a good ad regard like take everything out. It was not a good ad regardless. So and I mean, look, every company is it has put out a bad ad at some point. One that they're like, Well, that didn't hit the mark, that was terrible. They thought it was gonna come out better in their head that it actually did. But like I don't understand the thought process of doing a horror film. Like, maybe I need to watch the movie that they were trying to spoof. Maybe that would help. Marcus: Yeah. Jason: Yeah. They said as a parody and I'm like, where's the parody of shoving somebody down? I don't get that at all. Alex: Well, I'm saying even if you like take that part out of it, like the whole like don't touch my driver or like Marcus: Yeah. Alex: I know it's like in the movie called Obsession, so is it like you're gonna fall in love with this driver? Is that the whole like you're gonna become obsessed with it or something? Like is that the whole premise? I don't know. May maybe I need to watch the the movie to understand Marcus: Yeah, Alex: that. Marcus: and I think I told you, think they missed the mark on like the first club to come out. I think it should have been a putter, to be honest, not a driver. Alex: You said that. Jason: They've had that before, right? Did they have their like Alex: They well, they do have a couple, they do have a couple Callaway putters, but they Marcus: They do? I dunno. Alex: well they came out with their own putter at one point that was, if I am correct, it was PGA sanctioned. and that was prior to the Jason: Yeah. It was the Alex: Callaway that was prior to the Callaway deal. And then they struck because Garrett was with like Mizuno, and then I think him and Grant. move to Callaway, like just them two, but then ultimately it the whole I think Callaway just sponsored all of good good. Cause then they started doing, you know, collaborated hats where both logos were on it and stuff like that. and I probably part of that deal was y'all are no longer gonna make putters, but we can do collab putters. So there are good good collab putters out there. And then They got into the driver world, I'm gonna guess two or three years ago. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: and they started doing collabed good, good drivers. Jason: Yeah, and literally it's Callaway or Odyssey brand and they just paint it differently. Like it's not even their their stuff. It's just yeah. Alex: Correct. Yeah. It's sh yeah, it's just just and same thing with the driver. I mean, it's not like good goods putting in R and D to make this cool Marcus: Research. Alex: new driver like no, it's just the Callaway elite quantum blah blah blah whatever with good good colors. That's all it is. Marcus: Hmm. Alex: So it's it was interest I I didn't understand the premise of the commercial, even if we look past everything else, and then you factor in everything else, and it's like I I just don't get how this made it through multiple levels of approval to even get Marcus: Yeah. Alex: released as as an ad. And then I've told y'all this in the text thread like Look, I think everyone should be punished and feel for putting something out that they shouldn't. I mean, you you're in the spotlight. You you made that decision as a company to do what you do. So that means that you should uphold certain, you know, behaviors of society. But the fact that only one person is kind of taking the fall for this is a little off to me. Like it almost makes it feel like Callaway knew what they were doing by approving it, and they knew what they were going to do on the back end. Cause like I am just shocked that Callaway's not getting hurt by this at all. Like they and the CEO of Good Good said that in a tweet at 3 a.m. the other day. It was like, this kind of feels like a media blitz, because like no one else is we're we're just the fall guy here, and no one else, but Someone else funded this and someone else told us to make it and someone else approved it. So how are we the only ones getting in trouble for this? And I tend to agree with him there. Like I'm like, okay, y'all made a bad commercial, but I also agree with the business side of this of y'all didn't do this alone. So no one's gonna push back on Callaway and say Callaway has any blame here. Jason: Well, maybe Callaway does and they it's like you said it could be their marketing team and they might have fired the marketing team that approved it. We don't know that 'cause that's such a internal structure, so like Alex: Yeah, but I guess for I guess for me, like I'm so big on accountability. Like if I mess up, I'm going to take accountability. And I try to teach the kids that. So like for me, and if I'm Callaway, like I'm saying we stand by good, good. We were we were in the bucket too. Like we s we should have had better processes. Like we should be hurting just as much as they are. But Instead, Callaway ends their partnership with them and cuts all ties and pretty much says, Good luck, guys. We're gonna do our thing. You go do your thing. We're separating to make us look better. That's the part that I don't like. Like, stand with Marcus: you Alex: your people. If you're you were involved in it, like take accountability and just take your licks too. You both deserve it. I guess that's what bothers me. And there's one, I guess, good good does a Bahamas Cup something. Cause I saw that the other day. And Jason: I think so. Alex: they put out a they put out a statement that t that tournament specifically and said, We stand by good good. Like we're not cutting them. Like they've been a good partner of ours for years. Like this one mistake is not, you know, telling of who they are as people. it was just a dumb mistake. We're gonna stand with them and keep our tournament. So, like, I would have expected Callaway to make that kind of a statement where they say, look, we stand with good, good. We both made a bad decision. We apologize. We will do everything we can to rectify it. But we stand with them and we will share in responsibility. That would make me respect the company. Like, you did something Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: wrong, own up to it and stand by your people. Don't just throw someone on the bus. Marcus: Yeah, there's plenty of blame to go around. And I think we've said it, I don't even think we said it in the podcast, but we know, I mean, there's so many approval levels to go through to just push something, push a memo. You know, it's just tough to see that, the backlash kind of all on one end. There's plenty of blame to go around, to be honest. Alex: Yeah. Yeah, I mean I I get the PGA. They don't have any dealings with good good outside Marcus: Yeah. Alex: of like they had a sponsor tournament, and yeah, I agree with them losing the tournament. The sponsor title, unfortunately. It's all the other stuff with Callaway that I'm struggling to understand. Like PGA, of course PGA is gonna distance himself from this. They have a LPGA, like they have a women's side of this that they have to support and defend. So I 100% understand the PGA saying, not really in line with our core beliefs. So we're we're gonna ask them to step back as the title sponsor and we'll find someone else. We thank you for everything, but this is the right move for us. I completely understand them making that decision. That one, that's a business decision. That that is what it is. It's the Callaway Marcus: Mm-hmm. Yeah, could. Alex: partnership one that really I was like. Wow, that's that's pretty crappy Callaway. Like if I was a Callaway Marcus: Yeah. Alex: person, which I'm not, I've literally I don't think I've ever played Callaway clubs, I for sure wouldn't be now. Like that's just not the kind of company I wanna support. Like Jason: Well then got the flip side of it, people are gonna support Cowboy because they're a company that doesn't Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: stand that stands against women's v violence and they're like, we don't want to be Alex: Well, and so I was it Kendrick? Jason: associated with it. Alex: Was it Matt Kendrick that said that in his tweets of it's convenient that Callaway's doing this now when their stocks have tanked? Or something like that. Like their shareholder price or stock price was dropping. Marcus: Either doing some buyback or something. Alex: So he was like, Of course they're gonna do this. They're just trying to save their own boat right now. It was something along those lines, and I was like, that's interesting. Jason: I mean there could be a whole business side of things behind the scenes that we're the public don't know that might have been going on, but I mean Alex: think they set them up. Hey, we we need to drive up our stocks. Let's get some drama and then let's separate from the drama and we look like the good boys. So we're Marcus: you Alex: gonna have them we're gonna have them put this ad out and then we're gonna cut ties. Like maybe they knew what they were doing. The man, these corporations, I'm not saying that. I want to be very clear. I am not saying that they did that. but it's like we live in a world that you Marcus: hahahahah Jason: Yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Alex: can't like you can't assume like just everyone was acting out of the best faith. Like, unfortunately. Like I've seen, I've worked in corporate America and I've seen enough to know that like there's so much that you'd be like, that was just an honest mistake. And you're like, no, they did that intentionally. Like you know they did. Now this is a whole nother again, I'm not saying anyone from Callaway did that. I think to me it just it does sound like a lot of systematic errors and processes. Like there's just not enough checks and balances on the content creator side of things because they think, these content creators, they know what they're doing. They know how to edit. They know how to film. They are going to put out something that is, you know, going to bring eyes. So there's some level of they're just going to handle it. And companies knew that going in. Like they essentially use a marketing budget on content creators because the cont content creators are their marketing team. So I think there's a lot of that Marcus: Yeah. Alex: that they know. So I think it's just I think this was an honest mistake with a lot of lack of processes because they're a big I mean they're quite literally the biggest golf content creator and they're like, they're gonna put out something that's good. It's always gonna bring guys to Callaway, we're fine. And it was just a mess. Marcus: Yeah, it could be also the kind of good old boy kind of thing, right? So what I mean by that is, know, the golf is expanding and so we're going off in different avenues. And so maybe there's someone at the top that maybe he wasn't a big fan of the way this was going. And so they're kind of first thing that they saw that, hey, look, see, this is what happens when you put these people out here and try to, you know, help, you know, with the, with the Marketing and the way that it's going it's like I think we need to go back to what we've been doing and then they just cut ties That could Alex: Yeah. Marcus: possibly be it, Alex: It very well could. I think it's it's just an unfortunate li life lesson that good good is learning. there are a bunch of twenty year olds that I think I think it bodes the question of like, are these guys chronically messy or was this just one bad ad that absolutely nuked them and I think it's the latter there. Jason: well, if you watch some of the recent content and some of that stuff, I I've lost interest because they've kind of gotten away from what they were. but being in a world worth Alex: Yeah, but Jason: raising and looking at kids and stuff, the it's like it it it seems like there's a trend, at least from higher ups, especially with like our administration structure and everything that districts are starting to put in place is They're starting to crack down again and start like once grew up, like there's gonna be more consequences. So I think things are starting to trickle to more of that structure. Like back in the day, like you get in trouble, you get swatted on the butt at school, and then they're like, you can't do all that stuff. Now we're not going back that far. But it there's definitely more structures in place that if things are going wrong, there's gonna be consequences. And kids these days are growing up with less consequences. And unfortunately this was just like a huge, huge blow that could have probably been handled much differently for sure. But there like I said, there could have been more behind the scenes stuff. Maybe they got some new people in charge at Callaway and they're just like, after this, maybe it could have been after this good, good run this year, they might have cut ties anyways. But this just sealed it. Alex: It they might have, and I I think you're I think you're right that the content has changed, but not in a way that is bad against a group of people. Like they haven't it's changed in a Jason: No, no, not in that way. Alex: way of like they almost seem like they've been hyper focused on the money side of it. Like I I've said that in this, like I don't watch them because it's they've lost any level of relatability. Like they go on these extravagant golf trips where it's you know, ten thousand dollar versus one hundred or they're or they create these own like mini golf tournaments within their own group and they're like, someone's playing for ten thousand dollars. It's like y'all are doing y'all are just making yourself richer, right? You're making the content to get paid, which is what they do. They're content creators. Like I can't h fault them for it, but to your point, Jason, like I used to like watching the good, good major or whatever they used to call it, because it was just for bragging rights of winning and now it's for a Rolex or it's for this or that and it's like they just become very disconnected with the people that are watching them. And Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: I don't like I I just I'm not gonna sit here and watch that. Like I'd rather go Jason: yeah. Years ago when I started Alex: watch the four play stuff when watch Trent try to break eighty-five. Like that that's more fun Marcus: hehe Alex: to me than watching these guys play for fifty thousand dollars. Jason: No, it was more fun when you see them wake up at four AM, get a car, drive to Oklahoma and trying Alex: Yeah. Jason: to play just the public course and do their little games there and just work their way around and you know, just basic municipals and this and that. And yeah, now they're getting free rides to the Robert Trent Trail multi course structure or going to what's the one the the the one in the Ozark where Tiger Woods is golf courses with a pain store, Paines Valley. Like, Alex: Paines Valley. Jason: come on. And like you said, Hawaii, Bahamas, all of it. Alex: Yeah, it's it's been interesting, like their evolution. So I think they've been caught up in that, and I think that's what got them because they're so focused on what's bringing the eyes and they're getting the eyes of the young kids by doing that kind of stuff. Marcus: you Alex: but they they learned a brutally hard lesson. I mean, this is a multi million dollar. I would love to see the books on what this loss Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: is across the board with all companies, because And I I don't live in the retail world, so I kind of wish I had that background. But my understanding is retailers buy stuff at wholesale and then they sell it. So you have Dix, Golf Galaxy, I think Target actually sold good good. I know Amazon sells good good. P PJ Jason: Well and the PJ store did too. Alex: Superstore sells good good. So that's just five companies right there that have good, good apparel on their shelves and all of them pulled it. So all of those companies that purchased that at wholesale are now out that money because they're not going to make money off of it. So Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: I mean, if you pull even a thousand dollars of merchandise of sunk costs, which we know that they had a lot more than that. From 50 stores, okay, that's fifty thousand dollar loss right there just for you know one company. And we know they had more than that. So now multiply that. So I mean, just loss of cost of goods is out. Then you talk about all of the partner deals. I mean, they lost their sponsorship with Callaway. That cost money. The big break got pulled. Because Golf Galaxy was the title sponsor of the Big Break and they wanted their name pulled from it. So the Big Break gets pulled for a season. How much production cost has already gone into filming the Big Break? Because that's Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: not like real time. They have to film and edit. So I don't know I don't know how far into that season of Big Break they made. They might be halfway through the season. I don't know. So there's money tied up in that. There's money tied up in the commercial that they made. So it's like, I would love to know the value of this mistake to good good. And then obviously just the the sunk cost in general. not sunk cost, sorry, the the hit that good good's gonna take on like a just a general perspective of perception. Cause pe less people are gonna watch them. I was interested to see y Jason, you asked when their next video was gonna release. And I am too, because I Jason: Mm. Alex: want to watch how many views it gets. So I'm interested to see that part. Jason: Yeah, I'd be curious to see how that all falls into play for them. Yeah, I mean Alex: I know Garrett released a video yesterday or day before, and I specifically looked because I wanted to look at his trend of views, and it got the same amount of views that his previous stuff had gotten. So at least his stuff hasn't been impacted. Jason: As long as he came out, and he's doing it so he I mean, Garrett may do his own thing, go back to GM golf and just good good may not exist anymore. Alex: Well I Sorry, I was looking at it. it it might be getting better than typical. So his last Jason: Well people want people are gonna probably watch and be curious what he has to say about it. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: So if I read off the one before this, his last few videos are all 242, 277, 227, 309, 258, 287, 225, 315. You hear the trend, right? It's all in that mid 200 to low 300,000. And you got a couple that spike for sure. Like the one with him and Marissa that spiked to almost 400,000, but I think that's because Marissa was on there. And then this last one, course record one, got four seventy one and that was released one day ago. So almost half a million views on a video that most of them are averaging mid two hundreds. Jason: Yeah, I I mean him by himself is one thing, but again, the good good name and good good brand is what's gonna happen. Alex: Well they haven't posted in eight days, which is obviously not normal for them. they're I mean they they it looks like they post on average two a week. So they went from two a week to zero, which means they had stuff queued up that they didn't release. Jason: Yeah. I mean it's they'll they'll figure out something or someone will come up and help them out. Like I don't know, Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: let's just Taylor Mate or Ping or somebody will do something maybe. but you know, Garrett was a thing before Good Good was created because he has golf skill and golf ability, but so those other guys don't have the same caliber and following that they would have individually, like Bubby Alex: Yeah, a couple of the guys just aren't even if you Jason: Matt, Nums Alex: read the comments, a couple of the guys aren't even liked that much, like one specifically. Jason: No. Alex: So I think he he'll struggle. so yeah, it I'm with you. It it will be interesting to see what happens. A lot of it some of it's deserved. Some of it kind of sucks. Just a crappy situation with Callaway. So it'll be it'll be interesting. Jason: Yeah. Well Caleg dropped top golf. So they had that hole going, then they dropped it 'cause their stock and financial like positioning. So Alex: Yeah, it's because Topgolf isn't doing yeah. I don't know last time I went to a Topgolf. And I don't know last time I went to a Topgolf and it was packed. Marcus: Yeah, it used to be packed all the time. Jason: Yeah. No, that whole thing is Alex: It used to be like the thing. Jason: It got expensive. It got stupid expensive. And they restructured their Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: gameplay 'cause it used to be able to hang out whatever. Now it's like you go buy one hour, two hour time slots last time I went, and it's like Alex: And it's expensive. Jason: right. It's stupid. Like, really? Alex: It's like fifty or sixty bucks an hour or something like that, I think, or maybe forty, fifty. But if you have four or five people, you're hitting like ten balls in that hour. It's like it it took it from what could be like a actual legit driving range to this is strictly just to like go have fun. I don't care. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: like people used to take their golf clubs there. I don't think anyone does that anymore. Marcus: Mm-mm. Jason: I don't even know. It's it's been a long time since I've been there. But yeah, who knows? But we'll see how this all unfolds. be curious in the long run. but yeah, like my impression, like when I first saw the commercial, I like, ooh, Callaway the Quanta, like I already have the Quanta, which I'm not gonna get rid of. So I didn't get it. Of course that couldn't be Alex: Yeah. Jason: me being the age that I am and seeing things with a different eye. I just looked at it, I like, This is stupid. Like, I'm sorry, this was like a completely stupid commercial. And then I had to look it up. I'm like, Alex: Yeah, just a dumb commercial. It's a really dumb commercial regardless. Jason: where is this obsession thing? It's just the character that he portrayed was supposed to be the parody. I'm like, well, how does that even be represented? It just looks like some angry dude who doesn't want you to touch anything. Alex: Yeah, it it it missed on it missed on the mark for for sure. It was it was Jason: I mean it's so bad. Alex: not a great ad. we've all seen bad ads, so it happens, but you can't be bad and cross a line. all right, gents. what else we got? Dude, got something for you. I'm scared of my daughter. Just go ahead and clip that one. she is Girl's freaking fearless. Man, we so we've been doing the horse thing and I've been riding with her every week, but we did part of our agreement with the lease is she has we have to do a 30-minute lesson with the trainer. and really it's a safety check to make sure we're doing everything right with the horse. The horse is doing everything right that the horse should be doing. but I kind of I've been getting to know this. This girl that's running the shop, she sees me every time. So I text her. I was like, Do I need to do a lesson so that you're checking like the safety side of taking care of the horse? Or can we use it on Bella? And she was like, No, we can use it on Bella. Absolutely. So Bella did a lesson. I mean, this is a 1200-pound animal. And the Chelsea's her name. Chelsea was telling Bella, like, hey, you need to, you know, lead the horse and kind of get onto the horse if they're not doing what you want. And next thing I know, Bella's leading this horse, and like a horse kind of a little gets on top of her a little bit or gets a little too close. And Bella just like turns around and puts this horse in its place. I looked at Casey and I was like, I think we're creating a monster. Like I'm scared like the girl most kids are scared of horses in general. And then you got Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: my daughter that's like yelling at this horse to do what it wants. And then she gets on the horse. And I thought, okay, they're probably just gonna walk around. And she's I mean, she's ridden with me and she's walked around with me, but blah blah. And next thing I know, like she's trotting on this horse without anyone. And I've always said, like, no, you're not trotting without me. But Chelsea's like, well, no, she's good. So they started trotting around the arena. I was like, what the hell's going on? Like, this girl's freaking fearless. And we went to that. We went to that fair last night and it was the same thing. Like she got on that little you know the ride where it's a chair that's tied to strings and it spins around in circles? Jason: Mm-hmm. Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: She got on that. I don't think either of my boys would touch that at their age currently. And she's getting she I Jason: Is Alex: mean, the girl's just fearless. She'll do anything. Jason: Remind reminds me of Maddie. Peyton was definitely more scared, but Maddie, shoot, at like Bella's age and stuff like that, she was feeling she was climbing, getting Daredevil, and she'd be the first one to get on those rides. Like Maddie went on one of those rickety carnival rides that swings you up and have you like Alex: yeah, we saw that. Yeah. Jason: the hundred I'm like, I'm sitting like Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: and my heart's pounding. I'm like, please don't break, please don't break, because you know, these things are So dangerous. But she wanted to do it. She loved it. I'm like, collie girl. She's always been that way. Alex: You know, in the grand scheme of things, they don't break as much as you feel like they do. Because Jason: Right. Alex: you do hear about them breaking, because they are temporary structures and it's not like even the rickety little roller coaster that we got on yesterday, like literally like three turns, I think. Like I'm looking down at where it's on the ground and you can just see that leg moving like this. I'm like, God, this thing's gonna But I mean, it's like an eight-foot drop. Like, Jason: It's all bouncing along the ground. Alex: I'm not too concerned. But it's still like one of those things like this is this thing's gonna freaking fall. Marcus: Yeah. Alex: they don't break as much as you would you would think, but you do hear about it. So I'm with you. Like when she got on that umbrella chair one, I was a nervous wreck. Casey was like laughing at me because I was like, babe, like she's gonna go flying. If she goes flying out of this thing, like she's 20 feet up in the air, like Jason: Yeah. Alex: I don't like this. Like, I don't know why we're letting her do this. Like just because she wants to doesn't mean we have to say yes. Like, I was getting free frustrated with Jason: Yeah. Alex: Casey. And Bella freaking loved it. And and I think it's just, I don't know. It it's the recklessly fearless part that scares me. It's not the fearless. Like I like fearless, especially for a girl. Like, she Jason: The reckless. Alex: she's not gonna let anyone push her around, which I love for her. It's the reckless side. Like, she doesn't think twice before she goes and does something. She's like, I wanna do it, we're Marcus: Mm-hmm. Alex: doing it. And that's what scares me. Jason: Yeah, it's unfortunately it's gonna be one of those things where something could happen. Name nothing real bad, but there might be a a consequence that just catches her off guard and it's like, and Alex: I I think the problem for me is like she's my girl and my only girl. So like I am already overly protective of her in general because she's my only girl. So Jason: Mm-hmm. Alex: like then you add the recklessly fearless side of it and I'm like, this is like if my boys do the same thing and it has nothing to do with like well, I guess it does have something to do with gender, but it has nothing to do with like one being more capable of the other. It has everything to do with the fact that like She's my little princess. And I like if the boys get hurt, I'm like, okay, you'll be fine. My princess, like, she's gonna also be fine, but in my mind, she's not gonna be fine. It makes zero sense. I mean, but we all have girls, so I think we can all admit, like, we have a soft spot for the girls. Jason: No, I Marcus: Yeah, I get it. Yeah. Jason: Well, I was like that with Maddie 'cause she was my first ever. Super protective Alex: Yeah. Jason: and then soften then painting's like, okay, we're cool. But then Miles, it's like the flip. He's my only boy. And you know the journey that we went on to to have him Alex: Mm-hmm. Jason: now that I'm extra protective of him. I'm still giving him his reach, but there is a part of me just like I'm I'm Like in chess, I'm thinking three or four steps ahead. If he does this, I'm already Alex: Mm. Jason: figuring out like what is gonna this gonna lead to. And yeah, so my mindset's different with him with than the girls is one, my only boy, the journey we had to have him, and just like okay, different different approach. Alex: Yeah, see, so it has nothing to do with girls versus boys. It's the only gender. Like she's my Jason: No, not in our case, yeah. Alex: only girl, so I am very protective of her. Maybe if I had three girls, I'd be less protective because I got three of them. Jason: I you Marcus: Probably. Jason: know what? I guarantee you probably would be. You'd be like the third one, like, whatever. Alex: Yeah. Marcus: I ask you if you're a father-in-law. Alex: Could. He does have three girls. Jason: Ha ha ha. Alex: That is correct. Jason: Yeah, let us know how that conversation Alex: Mm. Yeah. Jason: goes. Alex: Yeah, exactly. so no, that that was my little tidbit on Bella and horses. Like the girl is one, I think I've created a monster with her and horses. Like she freaking loves going every week. Two. I don't think I'm ever Jason: Hey, horses are great though. I mean, you get in, they're Alex: gonna get to ride again, though, is the problem. Because now she's riding by herself. So now I'm gonna have to lease a second horse so that I can ride as well. Marcus: Just keep milking and be like, no, no, no, she needs someone with her. Alex: Well here's the deal. I'm like slowly pulling Casey into this way of life. Like there's just like a little there's like little things that she'll say now. Like I kind of joked about the land, and she's like, We were driving out to Denton yesterday because she came with me. She's like, How much how much would land out here be? And I was like, huh, interesting. Interesting question, Casey. Marcus: Here we go. Got her. Jason: yeah. Alex: And then we're talking about the horse. And I was like, you know, my next evolution of the horse owning will be maybe talking to Chelsea and like co-owning a horse with her, where we help her buy one. She can use it for training, but it's also our horse on, you know, half the week, stuff like that. Jason: Hmm. Alex: because then we kind of split the cost there. She Casey was like, Yeah, yeah, that's a good idea. That'd be that'd be a good next step. It's like, huh, okay. Good. Interesting, interesting. Marcus: Here we go Jason: my gosh. Alex: So it's like it's like slowly like putting the seeds down and getting there. Marcus: they're here. Jason: man. it is time. Alex: Yeah. Someone's here and I don't know if my wife is awake yet. I gotta go answer the door. Boys, I will be right back. Marcus: That's funny. Jason: man, that's gonna be fun. I haven't had a f household of little kids in so long. Marcus: Yeah, we had a... Jason: Yeah, didn't you have a playdate? Marcus: Yeah, no, we had a... I think it was a couple weeks ago, we had a... There's a family that we're really good friends with down in Palacios, they have four girls, ranging ages like 11 to four. No, 13 to four. So it was just like a house full of girls and Addie and then little Marcus. And so like by the end of it, Marcus is just like, I just want to play video games. I don't, I'm over this. Jason: Mm. Marcus: But it was, it was, it's a little, a little funny just cause I mean, they're, four girls and so they have their own, you know, four year old sister, but then, you know, they see Addie and she has like curly hair. And so they're just like, baby in her and doing this. It's like, And y'all don't do that for y'all's little sister. Like what's going on here? Yeah. yeah. Jason: It's something new, it's something different. It's like Marcus: They were like, they were trying to like, I'll give her Jesus. but Addy needs this. Like she, she, she wants a juice. She needs, she needs this. Man y'all are. Jason: What's the thing? They always the joke is they always want what they can't have or don't have. Marcus: Yeah. Jason: It's like we want the sister with the curly hair. Sorry. You get the straight straight stick hair. Marcus: Yeah. Yeah. That was, was such a fun weekend though. It was, it was, you know, a house full of kids and you know, all little girls there. And we actually left kind of the older one in charge cause she's, I know, she's about to be high school, middle school, whatever she is. It's like, all right, you, you watch these kids for, know, give us an hour. We're going to go to Trader Joe's and we'll get you some some snacks for Trader Joe's and that was kind of the trade off. Cuz they didn't have a Trader Joe's near them, where they come from. that was a good little, the two sets of parents got away for a little bit and we brought a bunch of snacks home and had a little Trader Joe's dinner. Jason: The Trader Joe's actually is good. Marcus: Yeah. Alex: It is. They just opened a new one near our house. Jason: And they're not ex super expensive. Alex: Yeah, no it's not. Marcus: Mm-mm. Alex: They yeah, they just open a new one about a mile from the house that I have yet to go to. I need to go more. Jason: that's right. Is it is that the one off is that on El Dorado or three eighty? Alex: El Dorado and Stone Bridge. So Yeah, Jason: that's right. Okay. It's like near H E B I think, isn't it? Alex: it's right down the street from the ATB. Jason: Yeah, okay. Alex: So, all right, boys, I personally have to get off. Y'all can do whatever you want. Casey's not awake yet, and I have two five-year-olds doing something downstairs. and and another one Jason: Now I'm good. Miles has been laying. Alex: coming very shortly. So Marcus: Good luck. Alex: I gotta get out here. I was watching the time and even even the mom was like, sorry, we got here early. I was like, Yeah, I had five minutes. I was planning on getting off and being down here. Jason: Yeah, you're good. Alex: Almost set the alarm off Marcus: Yeah. Alex: in the house because I forgot the alarm was still set. So I open the front door and then next thing I hear is my panel screaming at me, saying front door. It's like Marcus: Yeah. Jason: well it's it's actually Shelby's birthday, so she's got a chance to sleep in and she needs to sleep in Alex: Happy birthday, Shelby. Jason: and Miles has been rolling in his crib for the last hour or so I need to probably head out too. Alex: Alright boys, it was great, everyone, as always, Apple, Amazon, YouTube, Spotify, Wednesdays at 6 a.m. And we will hopefully be back next week unless something comes up. All right, see ya. Marcus: to you.
