Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
where he left off with the Tovin Owell interview with Congress. Question. Okay,
• 0:12
let's talk about mister Epstein's time while he was in
• 0:15
the shoe. Answer okay, question, did you ever have any
• 0:19
conversation with mister Epstein while he was in the shoe? Answer?
• 0:22
The only conversation I had, like I referenced earlier, was
• 0:25
when I took the phone from him in the shower,
• 0:28
letting him know that his time was up. As far
• 0:31
as conversation that would have been like me speaking to
• 0:33
him at the time, I mean when I handed the food,
• 0:36
I just opened the food tray and I handed it.
• 0:38
We didn't have a conversation. Oh and he asked me
• 0:41
to plug in the seapap machine and I said okay,
• 0:44
and I plugged it. In question, so there were never
• 0:47
any conversations, no back and forth more than what you
• 0:50
just described. Answer no, question, did you ever have any
• 0:54
interaction with mister Ebstein besides the ones that you just mentioned?
• 0:57
Answer no. When I count, when I did the count
• 1:01
on myself, when I looked through the window, he raised
• 1:03
his hand, question signaling that he was there? Answer? Was there? Correct?
• 1:08
Because he's on the floor. He puts his mattress on
• 1:10
the floor. Question Did that seem unusual to you? Answer
• 1:14
no question. Would other inmates do things like that put
• 1:17
mattresses on the floor? Answer I mean in general population, Yeah,
• 1:22
especially if their bunk was the top and they don't
• 1:24
like to be on the top, they put it on
• 1:26
the floor. Mister Emmer, you mentioned that you didn't have
• 1:29
any conversation with mister Epstein while he was incarcerated. Are
• 1:33
you aware of any staff at MCC that may have
• 1:36
had conversations with him that were not related to his incarceration,
• 1:40
Miss Noel, Not that I know of. Question. Did he
• 1:44
he being mister Epstein, ever attempt to interact with you?
• 1:48
Answer no question. Did you witness or hear anything about
• 1:51
him trying to interact with any of the other officers?
• 1:55
Answer no question. Would mister Epstein ever write notes in
• 1:58
his cell? Answer Sir, I learned that after I didn't
• 2:02
physically see him writing a note or was aware at
• 2:04
the time that he would write notes. Just know about
• 2:07
the notes after question. So he did write notes in
• 2:11
his cell that you learned about after the fact, answer
• 2:14
that I learned about after the fact. Question would inmates
• 2:17
in the shoe have access to materials while in their cell?
• 2:20
Answer I'm not sure. Question would they have any like
• 2:23
books or pens, notepads anything like that? Answer not that
• 2:27
I saw. Question would speaking about shoe inmates like generally,
• 2:31
would they be allowed or permitted to have such items
• 2:34
in their cell? Answer that I don't know the answer too,
• 2:38
I don't know if they're permitted to have it. Question
• 2:41
you said earlier that shoe inmates in particular were different
• 2:44
from the arrest of mcc inmates because they were in
• 2:46
their cells for twenty three hours answer correct question out
• 2:51
of the day, and they had one hour outside their cell.
• 2:54
What would normally be happening when they would be outside
• 2:57
their cells? Answer? So the one hour could be that's
• 3:00
where you're going to meet your attorney, or there's like
• 3:03
a little library like right there you can go. And
• 3:05
I think in the shoe it's you can't be together.
• 3:08
There's like separation, so it's not like everybody's out together.
• 3:12
I guess if one's done reading then the other could
• 3:14
come out like that. But other than that, I'm not
• 3:18
sure if anything else that they do because it's not
• 3:21
done on my shift? Question what shift is it done on? Answer?
• 3:25
  I know there's wreck, but I don't know if they're
• 3:27
allowed to go to wreck. I don't know who. But
• 3:29
that would have been a morning shift, like eight to four.
• 3:32
I come on at four, So question what's the wreck?
• 3:37
Answer on the roof upstairs outside. Question you said that
• 3:40
mister Epstein met with his attorney attorneys frequently. How did
• 3:45
he seem where you ever on shift whenever mister Epstein
• 3:48
would come back from visiting with his attorneys? Answer yes,
• 3:51
question how did he seem when he came back? Answer?
• 3:55
Whoever transported him to his cell? And that's it? Regular question?
• 3:59
Did you ever know what is mister Epstein doing anything
• 4:01
unusual while his cell door other than what you described
• 4:06
him laying the mattress on the floor. Answer no, because
• 4:09
you're not in the cell block constantly like regular population
• 4:13
only like if you're going to conduct around or account.
• 4:16
But no other than the mattress on the floor, I
• 4:19
never observed him doing anything. Question. I know we touched
• 4:22
on this a little bit earlier, but I'm going to
• 4:24
ask you again. Were you aware that mister Epstein was
• 4:27
seeing AMCC psychologist following the July twenty third incident. Answer,
• 4:32
when they came into the shoe, they see a psychologist,
• 4:35
him seeing or after I don't know. Question okay, So,
• 4:39
did you ever witness any MCC psychologists conducting clinical follow
• 4:44
ups with mister Epstein? Answer no, and I think a
• 4:48
lot of those things are morning shift things on my shift. No,
• 4:51
I never seen anyone. Question because typically didn't work the
• 4:55
midnight shift. Answer eight to four question okay, and just
• 4:59
to clarify, I think you said note to this, but
• 5:02
were you, as a shoe officer, responsible for reporting any
• 5:05
unusual behavior by mister Epstein or any shoe inmate to
• 5:08
the psychologist? Answer no question. Was that ever a part
• 5:12
of the training that was expressed to anyone that you
• 5:14
know of? Answer to report unusual behavior to a psychologist?
• 5:18
No question, like, for example, a shoe inmate that was
• 5:22
on suicide watch, Did you have to make note of
• 5:25
that in any way? Answer no question. Did you know
• 5:28
at the time that mister Epstein had signed a new
• 5:30
last Will and Testament on August ninth, twenty nineteen, Answer
• 5:34
no question. To the best of your knowledge, and based
• 5:38
on what you saw of mister Epstein while he was
• 5:40
in the Shoe and while you worked there were there
• 5:43
any signs that Jeffrey Epstein was suicidal? Answer no question
• 5:48
And based on your experience as a correctional officer and
• 5:51
what you witnessed firstand do you believe that mister Epstein
• 5:54
killed himself? Answer yes, question? Why is that answer? Because
• 6:00
he was the only one in to sell Nobody else
• 6:01
was in there, mister Emmer during your time with MCC,
• 6:06
where suicide's a common occurrence, Miss Noel, my time was
• 6:09
very short because I was out with an injury for
• 6:11
those months. But that was the first one that I
• 6:14
was there for. And that's the thing. There weren't that
• 6:17
many suicides at MCC. It wasn't like a place that
• 6:20
was riddled with a bunch of inmate deaths via suicide.
• 6:26
And it's not like they haven't had a whole bunch
• 6:27
of high level inmates go through the doors, Miss fair Bend.
• 6:35
Question was it maybe common is not the right word,
• 6:38
but do you think that there would have been more
• 6:39
Shoe inmates in particular on Suicide Watch than inmates elsewhere
• 6:43
in the MCC Answer correct question. So, MCC psychologists, it
• 6:49
wasn't uncommon for them to come in and do like
• 6:51
follow ups with shoe inmates? Is that right? Answer in
• 6:54
the morning question, I'd like to reference the Dojoig report.
• 6:59
I know that we talked about it a little bit.
• 7:01
It says that on August eighth, some mcc new York
• 7:04
staff received notice that mister Epstein cellmate would be transferred
• 7:08
out of the institution the following day, on August ninth.
• 7:12
Did you ever receive any notice that mister Epstein cellmate
• 7:15
would be transferred out? Answer no question. Were you ever
• 7:19
told that mister Epstein would be getting a new cell mate?
• 7:21
Answer no question. Were you ever told why mister Epstein
• 7:25
cell mate was being transferred out on August eight? Answer
• 7:29
no question. Did you ever personally speak to anyone else
• 7:34
that knew that his cell mate was going to be
• 7:35
transferred out? Answer no question. Were you working that day
• 7:39
on August eighth? Answer August eight? I think I worked.
• 7:43
Question okay, but you didn't hear any conversation about that?
• 7:46
Answer no question, okay. I'd like to move forward to
• 7:50
the night of August ninth, as we've been discussing, So
• 7:53
you had the workstation in the shoe that you worked at,
• 7:56
correct answer correct question. Did you have a computer at
• 7:59
that station while you worked at the shoe Answer correct
• 8:03
question was it a desktop or a laptop? Answer a desktop?
• 8:07
Question how many desktops were there at the station? Answer
• 8:11
to the best of my recollection, too. Question Okay, was
• 8:14
the computer yours? Or would you log into it? Answer?
• 8:18
I would log into it? Question would you always log
• 8:20
into the same computer? Answer no, it could be either
• 8:23
or question was it a staff specific log in that
• 8:27
you had to get into the computer? Answer yes, question
• 8:31
so any staff member could log into the computer. Answer correct.
• 8:35
Question would you complete your logs or your reports on
• 8:38
the computer? Answer no on the sheet? Question on the sheet?
• 8:42
Were there any tasks that you would complete on the
• 8:44
computer while you were on shift? Answer not the shoe question, so,
• 8:48
to be clear, nothing that you would have done on
• 8:51
the computer work related answer correct question. Okay, did Officer
• 8:56
bon Ham and Thomas I'm assuming also both had computers?
• 9:00
Answer correct question. Did you stay on the same desktop
• 9:03
computer for both your August nine and August tenth shift? Answer?
• 9:08
I don't recall that. Question. Okay, while you were on shift,
• 9:12
were you ever on your computer? Answer yes? Question what
• 9:15
were you doing on your computer? Answer on the shift
• 9:19
from midnight to eight in the morning, I was looking
• 9:21
at furniture. Question so non work related things? Answer correct.
• 9:27
Question Were you searching images or things on Google? Answer no,
• 9:31
to the best of my recollection. No question. But you
• 9:34
said you were looking at furniture. How are you doing
• 9:37
that on your computer? Typed in that search? The search
• 9:40
doesn't have to be Google. It could be like being
• 9:43
any search, any search engine. Question. Sure, were you looking
• 9:47
at anything else besides furniture while you were on the internet?
• 9:50
Answer so whenever you open the homepage where the new
• 9:53
loads Epstein would be on there, and I'd clicked onto it.
• 9:56
Question the search function I believe a friends Will report
• 10:00
has done the two desktops at the shoe station that night.
• 10:03
It said that the search function said, quote latest on
• 10:06
Epstein in Jail end quote. I know that you've been
• 10:09
asked this before, did you? It's your testimony that you
• 10:12
didn't physically type in latest on Epstein in Jail. Answer right,
• 10:16
I clicked on when I seen it load like on
• 10:19
the news on the desktop. Question and the desktop. The
• 10:22
Frienderick report of the desktop says that the latest on
• 10:25
Epstein in Jail was searched twice that night, once five
• 10:28
forty two am. And once ten minutes later, or again
• 10:32
ten minutes later at five point fifty two am? Is
• 10:34
that correct? Answer? I saw that. I learned that later
• 10:37
on the news. I don't recall doing that, only what
• 10:40
I said, like, if I see it on the homepage,
• 10:44
I click on it and read it. But as far
• 10:46
as performing a physical search, I don't recall doing that. Yo,
• 10:49
I don't believe a minute of that. Holy shit. And
• 10:52
if you notice, her story really isn't jibing with what
• 10:55
we've heard from the other depositions. Question when you first
• 11:01
clicked on it, what did you see? Answer? Well, I
• 11:03
don't remember specifically, but it'd be like a headline with
• 11:06
them like whatever the headline would say. Question, So at
• 11:09
that point you knew who Jeffrey Epstein was? Answer at
• 11:12
that point, yes, question and you knew that he was
• 11:15
an inmate in the shoe answer? Uh huh. Question were
• 11:19
you curious in any way anything about mister Epstein? I
• 11:22
guess my question is why didn't you want to look
• 11:25
at gets cut off by toviin no, Well, oh, because
• 11:27
he's in there. Question so mister Epstein was found deceased, Well,
• 11:31
he appeared to be deceased in his cell at six
• 11:34
thirty am the morning of August tenth, Is that correct?
• 11:38
So what forty minutes after, she's looking up Jeffrey Epstein
• 11:42
and Jeffrey Epstein in jail like what doesn't make sense
• 11:47
to me? And I'm sorry that I don't buy it,
• 11:49
  but I don't answer that. I can't answer because I
• 11:54
didn't find him. Question. Okay, who found mister Epstein in itself?
• 11:58
Answer Michael Thomas. All Right, folks, we're gonna wrap up
• 12:01
right here and in the next episode dealing with the topic,
• 12:04
we're gonna pick up where we left off. All the
