Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Reality TV Cringe. I am one
- 0:09Speaker 1: of your hosts, Delia, and I'm here with my real
- 0:12Speaker 1: tight homegirl and my daughter in law, the beauteous Bedre.
- 0:17Speaker 2: That's me.
- 0:18Speaker 1: We are here to talk sister wives, hoodie. We are
- 0:24Speaker 1: currently in season six going through the archives and the
- 0:27Speaker 1: Mormon records. We're in the temple looking at all the
- 0:30Speaker 1: names on all the lists to see what's happening, and
- 0:34Speaker 1: we're having a good time doing so because, as you know,
- 0:37Speaker 1: everyone has moved into the cul de sac. The children
- 0:41Speaker 1: have reintegrated and are strengthening their family bonds. However, the
- 0:46Speaker 1: wives are having a bit of a problem in that
- 0:48Speaker 1: regard because they don't seem to like each other very much.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening. I do have some suspicions. Yeah.
- 0:56Speaker 1: For example, I think Cody is already spending all of
- 0:59Speaker 1: his time at Robin, and now all the other wives
- 1:02Speaker 1: can see it firsthand with their own eyeballs, and so
- 1:05Speaker 1: there are some problems with the Browns. It's juicy. Now,
- 1:10Speaker 1: before we get into this episode, we do have to
- 1:12Speaker 1: issue you a disclaimer. Please hi'd your wife and Hydro kids.
- 1:16Speaker 1: This is a politically incorrect comedy comedy podcast. We are
- 1:22Speaker 1: insufferably stupid. Yeah, we have dumb opinions, we say dumb things,
- 1:27Speaker 1: and so if you're.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Go cry in the corner bye.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You might want to find yourself another dumpster. But if
- 1:36Speaker 1: you're ready to go to Browntown, welcome to those doom stood.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And if you like what we do over here, please
- 1:43Speaker 2: be sure to follow us on Instagram at reality tv
- 1:46Speaker 2: Grinch and join us on Patreon, Patreon dot com slash
- 1:49Speaker 2: reality tv Grine. We are continuing our coverage of season
- 1:53Speaker 2: two of The Valley over there.
- 1:54Speaker 1: My god, it is crazy. It's so much fun. By
- 1:58Speaker 1: the way, did you see that? Just today? Kristin Dodie
- 2:02Speaker 1: made an Instagram post in which she showed a clip
- 2:05Speaker 1: from tonight's episode of The Valley where she calls out
- 2:10Speaker 1: Britney Cartwright for being a terrible friend and constantly defending
- 2:14Speaker 1: Janet while not doing the same for Kristin and for
- 2:17Speaker 1: Zach and Kristen's like, what is up with that? Finally,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I love that. Thank you for saying the thing that
- 2:24Speaker 1: I needed you to say for real. So this season
- 2:26Speaker 1: is really good. It's very dark, it's kind of toxic.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So we have a lot of fun in the trash
- 2:31Speaker 1: and so if you want to get into it, definitely
- 2:34Speaker 1: check us out on Patreon. Yeah. Now, if you are
- 2:36Speaker 1: watching on YouTube, please do not forget to like and
- 2:40Speaker 1: comment and share and subscribe, because truly, every single thing
- 2:44Speaker 1: you do helps us to scale the mountain to six
- 2:48Speaker 1: thousands and the subscribers. We're very far away. We're still
- 2:52Speaker 1: at base Camp two, but the Shurpas are coming. They're
- 2:54Speaker 1: gonna help us get there. But you're the Shurpas. You
- 2:57Speaker 1: need to help us get there, please and thanks, thank
- 2:59Speaker 1: you in advance. Now, also, we do want to let
- 3:03Speaker 1: you know we're going to have an after show for
- 3:05Speaker 1: this episode. Now, an after show is for the VIP
- 3:09Speaker 1: Patreon raccoons only, and we only have after shows when
- 3:12Speaker 1: we have some additional things to talk about. And tonight,
- 3:15Speaker 1: let me tell you say, we've got some things to
- 3:18Speaker 1: talk about concerning Welcome to Plaid, Phil, I got drama,
- 3:22Speaker 1: what's going on with that? Also, apparently there was somebody
- 3:26Speaker 1: who asked Mary Brown a question live on Instagram about
- 3:30Speaker 1: Cody and his punk ast and she answered, but did
- 3:33Speaker 1: she actually say anything. Well, we're going to get into
- 3:36Speaker 1: it in the after show. And also there was a
- 3:38Speaker 1: comment left by somebody, not for our video, but somebody
- 3:42Speaker 1: left to comment in Mormonland about what happens when two
- 3:46Speaker 1: young men go on their first mission. I'm going to
- 3:49Speaker 1: give you a little hint for those who are watching.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It's a sexical thing that tends to happen. So we're
- 3:54Speaker 1: going to read the comment. Yeah, and we're going to
- 3:56Speaker 1: get into all of that. And if you want to
- 3:57Speaker 1: be a part of the after show again, make sure
- 3:59Speaker 1: you join us on Patriarch.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Now, before we get into our recap, Beatrice, I must
- 4:05Speaker 1: ask you, what is your primary takeaway? I already know listen,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I already know what you're gonna say. But what is
- 4:11Speaker 1: your takeaway from this episode?
- 4:13Speaker 2: Cody and Brett are giving me hardcore broke back mountain gay, homosexical.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Seeming lover yeah, sexual relation wows okay, like.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Hardcore, like they probably had like a brow maan.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Well, they went on a mission together, and so I
- 4:32Speaker 1: got the same vibe as you. I was getting a
- 4:35Speaker 1: lot of homo erotessis giving gay. I was remembering I
- 4:39Speaker 1: think season one when Cody and the fam go back
- 4:42Speaker 1: to his hometown and all of his high school friends
- 4:45Speaker 1: are like I swear to god, I thought he was
- 4:47Speaker 1: flamboyantly gay gay and I also thought he was and
- 4:51Speaker 1: I still think he's not flamboyantly gay, but I think
- 4:54Speaker 1: he's gay.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I think he's a little gay gay.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And so we got this guy coming into town and
- 4:58Speaker 1: rolling up with his wife and I'm just like, Monicle,
- 5:02Speaker 1: something sexual is going on here. Oh yeah, same, same takeaway.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I have the same takeaway.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I'm glad we're on the same page with that.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yes, So, without further ado, let's get into the recap.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We are on season six, episode thirty.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Entitled Boys Night Out.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It's gonna be a hot boys night Out. We're gonna
- 5:21Speaker 1: have a lot of fun wrestling and stuff with all
- 5:25Speaker 1: bodies and everything. I can't wait, love it. Take it away, Patrice.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Well, we start off the episode with kind of like
- 5:31Speaker 2: a stupid segment at the beginning where we're going to
- 5:34Speaker 2: tour different venues for their dumb recommitment and like Christine's
- 5:41Speaker 2: freaking out because it's kind of expensive.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Ten thousand, ten thousand?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Does that include kay no, does not doesn't to get
- 5:51Speaker 2: married or not to get married, but to have a
- 5:53Speaker 2: recommitment ceremony at a facility that also hosts gay marriages, yes, Sarah.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Interestingly, they did say that. Did you notice that Cody
- 6:04Speaker 1: was talking about how this was his party? Yep, And
- 6:07Speaker 1: because it was a party for him, he was willing
- 6:10Speaker 1: to spend all the money. But if it was a
- 6:13Speaker 1: party for anybody else then he wouldn't be willing to
- 6:15Speaker 1: open up his wallet.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, because he said something like it's my image at
- 6:19Speaker 2: stake or something like this is for me, And I'm like, oh, okay, yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 2: got it. We're already starting with that in season six.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It kind of like, uh, what's the term for when
- 6:30Speaker 2: you're disillusioned? I guess that's the term.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it kind of like that would be it
- 6:36Speaker 1: kind of just like, man.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I thought Cody was like a better guy in the
- 6:39Speaker 2: earlier season. So now I'm like, we're washing him back,
- 6:41Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, he's always been a piece of shit.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Well he's a he's a highly insecure person, because just
- 6:47Speaker 1: in this episode alone, we've got him referring to himself
- 6:51Speaker 1: as an alpha male, Yeah, as like the consummate leader
- 6:54Speaker 1: of a family, when he's nothing of the sore, Like
- 6:58Speaker 1: he's just constantly puffing himself up to make him self
- 7:02Speaker 1: look like a manly provider. Where the reality is is
- 7:06Speaker 1: that that's not what he is, and maybe that's why
- 7:08Speaker 1: he's insecure. Plus he's gay. Plus plus he's gay, and
- 7:11Speaker 1: he's in a cult, and you can't just come out
- 7:13Speaker 1: and say I'm get gay. So I'm instead going to
- 7:17Speaker 1: marry for women and have a mess of kids so
- 7:20Speaker 1: that nobody would even suspect that I'm gay, not knowing
- 7:24Speaker 1: that at some point in the future, too, robust raccoons
- 7:27Speaker 1: are going to roll onto the scene and we're gonna
- 7:29Speaker 1: see in two point two seconds that man is gay.
- 7:33Speaker 1: That's a game. I'm looking at, a game that is.
- 7:35Speaker 2: A big old game.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm going crazy. And you know I love my
- 7:38Speaker 1: gay men, I love gay women, I love the gay
- 7:41Speaker 1: I love people.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I love people.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And if Cody is gay, I think we should hashtag
- 7:46Speaker 1: free Cody Brown hotly. I want him to live his
- 7:50Speaker 1: whole gay experience. What I don't want him to do
- 7:53Speaker 1: is implode in on himself and become a hateful person
- 7:56Speaker 1: who takes it out on women and children, which unfortunately
- 7:59Speaker 1: is the way that what that's what he's doing.
- 8:01Speaker 2: But like, just imagine a world where like Robin ended
- 8:04Speaker 2: up his favorite wife just because she pegs him. Oh yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 2: because that's how he gets his little That's how he
- 8:08Speaker 2: gets his Nixon, you know what I mean.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Like he can truly be himself with Robin Robin playing
- 8:14Speaker 1: the role of a top. Can you imagine Cody Brown
- 8:19Speaker 1: like on a Pride float in a speedo just I
- 8:21Speaker 1: can ill baby oiled up. Yeah, everything, just gyrating. I
- 8:25Speaker 1: can see that so easily.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Me too.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I want that for him so much. I want that
- 8:30Speaker 1: for us.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I want that for us too, very much. And then
- 8:34Speaker 2: we get onto the wrestling mats and we have Cody's bff,
- 8:38Speaker 2: Brett and his wife Ava comeing to visit. And I
- 8:42Speaker 2: guess Brett and Cody were BFFs back in college. They
- 8:45Speaker 2: went on a Mormon mission together and they formed what
- 8:50Speaker 2: Cody called a cosmic romance or a cosmic brotherhood or
- 8:54Speaker 2: something bounce. And it's been a few years since they've
- 8:59Speaker 2: seen each other, but he's coming to visit and comeing
- 9:01Speaker 2: to see how they're doing in Vegas. And he's also
- 9:04Speaker 2: going to help them install wrestling mats per Hunter at
- 9:09Speaker 2: Janelle's house with also Janelle's personal trainer who's just there
- 9:12Speaker 2: for the check.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Yeah, why is Sean here? We don't need to Bo's bread.
- 9:16Speaker 1: We've never met Brett. It's season six. I think the
- 9:19Speaker 1: reality is that Cody doesn't actually have male friends who
- 9:24Speaker 1: would want to be friends with them. So like there's
- 9:25Speaker 1: this empty space inside of him that only a man
- 9:30Speaker 1: can fill. And so like anytime any man is willing
- 9:33Speaker 1: to roll up into Vegas and pretend to be his
- 9:36Speaker 1: bro like his dad's like, Oh, I'm going to get
- 9:38Speaker 1: wrestling mats. Yeah, this is going to be so good.
- 9:40Speaker 2: We're going to produce.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Content and then you and me we can put our
- 9:43Speaker 1: short song. Yeah, we cane wrestle together. It's going to
- 9:47Speaker 1: be great.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And so they go to Janelle's house with the wrestling mats,
- 9:51Speaker 2: and Janelle's like, I need to be able to use
- 9:54Speaker 2: my garage, though I don't want these fucking fuck shit
- 9:57Speaker 2: matts crowd up mugara.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I've got like boxes, have a million kids, Like a
- 10:04Speaker 1: normal garage would have things in it and stuff.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yep. So she's pissed, and Christine kind of offers up
- 10:11Speaker 2: her garage because it's clean. She cleaned it out specifically
- 10:14Speaker 2: for Cody. She wanted it Cody to have space in
- 10:18Speaker 2: the garage that he hasn't utilized yet, and so she
- 10:22Speaker 2: offers up her garage to have the mats installed there.
- 10:26Speaker 2: But in order to do that, she has to negotiate
- 10:29Speaker 2: with Cody privately without their mics.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Right. Well, she asks him if they can have a
- 10:35Speaker 1: private discussion, and Cody's like, oh, you're going to try
- 10:39Speaker 1: and blackmail me. Yeah, So in order for me to
- 10:41Speaker 1: put these mats into your garage, I'm going to have
- 10:43Speaker 1: to give you something. And then we see them go
- 10:45Speaker 1: off to the side somewhere and I'm trying to remember
- 10:48Speaker 1: what Christine negotiates for more time?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Well, this is all according to Cody. Cody says that
- 10:54Speaker 2: she negotiated for him spending more time at her house,
- 10:57Speaker 2: more grocery money, and for him to be a better husband.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Okay, but can we just talk about the grocery money part,
- 11:05Speaker 1: because I was like, what do you mean more grocery money?
- 11:08Speaker 1: We are on season six, you are all living in McMansions.
- 11:12Speaker 1: My suspicion is that each wife gets the same amount
- 11:17Speaker 1: for groceries. And Christine has what five or six kids?
- 11:20Speaker 1: I can six, it's five or six kids, So she's
- 11:23Speaker 1: got six kids. Is she getting the same amount for
- 11:26Speaker 1: groceries as Mary is getting for groceries. Like she's in
- 11:32Speaker 1: this moment negotiating so that she can feed her children. Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 1: which Cody is calling blackmail, which is crazy.
- 11:38Speaker 2: And He's like I had to make a deal with
- 11:41Speaker 2: her to install these mats into the garage. And I'm like, dude,
- 11:45Speaker 2: just give her some more money.
- 11:46Speaker 1: She's literally just asking for you to be a good
- 11:48Speaker 1: husband and kind of be around from time to time.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah. And like if that's the case, if every wife
- 11:53Speaker 2: is getting the same grocery money, and like Mary is
- 11:56Speaker 2: getting more, for example, even though she only has one
- 11:59Speaker 2: child to feed, that's crazy. But also like, is it
- 12:03Speaker 2: Robin starting to is she starting to siphon some of
- 12:06Speaker 2: the money over because she's got her fake nail, She's
- 12:09Speaker 2: got all these little jewelry, this jewelry on, she's got
- 12:12Speaker 2: her little blazers. I'm like, you're looking awfully nice.
- 12:15Speaker 1: She's starting to bling bling out. In season six, they're
- 12:18Speaker 1: starting to actually work with real money. They're manifesting, they're
- 12:22Speaker 1: becoming the architects of their lives. Yeah, but for somebody
- 12:25Speaker 1: like Mary, she's getting the equal amount of resources so
- 12:29Speaker 1: she can stockpile her money, she can pay for Leon's tuition,
- 12:33Speaker 1: she can pay and should pay for Leon's car, as
- 12:36Speaker 1: opposed to going to the rest of the family like
- 12:38Speaker 1: she did in the last episode asking for them to
- 12:40Speaker 1: pay for Leon's pricey private tuition, like, no, you're getting
- 12:44Speaker 1: the same amount of money, then save it then.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Right, exactly, It's not really fair for everybody else to
- 12:49Speaker 2: have to fork up more of their money when Janelle
- 12:51Speaker 2: and Christine are seemingly scraping by, well, everyone else is
- 12:55Speaker 2: just like living their life and doing their thing. It's
- 12:57Speaker 2: kind of crazy that she had to even negotiate that
- 13:00Speaker 2: with Cody to begin with. But nevertheless, they come to
- 13:03Speaker 2: some kind of agreement and she installs the mats at
- 13:06Speaker 2: her house at Christine's house yep. And then when they
- 13:09Speaker 2: have the mats installed, this is where Cody and Brett
- 13:13Speaker 2: changed into their little shorts.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Yes they did, and they they wrestled there on those
- 13:18Speaker 1: mats and get all sweaty, yes, get all close to
- 13:21Speaker 1: each other as in Face sixty in phase, and everybody's
- 13:27Speaker 1: just standing around laughing and uncomfortably watching Cody's aroused being
- 13:33Speaker 1: a peacock with this guy Prett. It was just cringeastic.
- 13:38Speaker 2: It was so cringe. And this is where we hear
- 13:40Speaker 2: more of their backstory. So when they went and served
- 13:43Speaker 2: their Mormon mission together, after they engaged in a lot
- 13:47Speaker 2: of kase sex.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Allegedly in our opinion only, this is the es I'm getting, Okay,
- 13:55Speaker 3: after their Mormon mission, this is where they started to
- 13:58Speaker 3: split off into two paths.
- 14:00Speaker 2: This is how Brett describes it. Because I guess Brett
- 14:03Speaker 2: was like having a crisis of faith because he's gay.
- 14:06Speaker 2: He decided to leave the Mormon church or like kind
- 14:10Speaker 2: of distance himself from the Mormon Church, whereas Cody went
- 14:13Speaker 2: the complete opposite direction and became more fundamentalist, joined his
- 14:17Speaker 2: polygamist church because he wanted to please his daddy, and
- 14:22Speaker 2: their friendship kind of I guess fractured.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Well, they ultimately end up having an antagonistic argument about
- 14:30Speaker 1: Joseph Smith, and apparently it was bad, and so they
- 14:35Speaker 1: broke off at that point and then didn't speak for
- 14:38Speaker 1: five years. So presumably at some point Brett rotates back
- 14:42Speaker 1: into his life. I'm not sure how I can't quit
- 14:45Speaker 1: you or why, but like, yeah, so they've been peripheral
- 14:50Speaker 1: in each other's lives since then. But yeah, so it
- 14:52Speaker 1: doesn't seem like Brett is religious at all. In fact,
- 14:56Speaker 1: he just believes in God. And that's the only thing
- 14:58Speaker 1: that he has in common in terms faith with Cody's
- 15:01Speaker 1: that they both believe in a God.
- 15:02Speaker 2: And that's it, Yeah, exactly. And so now that they're
- 15:05Speaker 2: back in each other's lives, like, Cody invited Brett to his.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Wedding, it feels so good.
- 15:13Speaker 2: He invited him to his wedding with Robin, and Brett
- 15:16Speaker 2: showed up and then he like left early. And this
- 15:19Speaker 2: is where Cody recounts it, and he's like, he starts crying.
- 15:22Speaker 2: It's crazy. He starts crying, weird dude, And he's like,
- 15:25Speaker 2: that was the only time that I felt so lonely.
- 15:28Speaker 1: When Brett left the reception for that. He showed up
- 15:31Speaker 1: for the wedding, stayed for the reception, but he had
- 15:34Speaker 1: to leave kind of in the middle of it. And
- 15:35Speaker 1: this is where Cody's like, like, I really felt that watching
- 15:38Speaker 1: him walk out the door was the first time I
- 15:40Speaker 1: had felt lonely.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Which is crazy.
- 15:43Speaker 1: What's happening right now.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm like, you're marrying your favorite wife, right.
- 15:46Speaker 1: There's one hundred people here at this reception, but this
- 15:49Speaker 1: one guy is leaving and now you're feeling lonely. And
- 15:53Speaker 1: that was a few years ago, maybe two or three
- 15:55Speaker 1: years ago, four years ago. You're recounting it and you're crying.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Why you're talking.
- 16:00Speaker 2: About homosexual love is real?
- 16:03Speaker 1: It's real, absolutely, well, you know that love is absolutely
- 16:06Speaker 1: one love, one love.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Like I'm just watching that, I'm like, I know a
- 16:10Speaker 2: gay man when I see.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Sure, that's a man in love, totally heart activated, et phone,
- 16:17Speaker 1: motherfucking home.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I mean, look, I mean, to be real, yeah, Brett's
- 16:20Speaker 2: kind of handsome.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Now well, yeah, I mean I guess, yeah, well for
- 16:24Speaker 1: for a for a you know, a generic, nondescript Caucasian person,
- 16:29Speaker 1: he's great. I mean, he's certainly better looking comparatively than
- 16:33Speaker 1: say Cody, Oh definitely. Yeah, so I could see how
- 16:36Speaker 1: Cody would have a crush on him, Oh for sure.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah. But anyway, Brett starts talking about polygamy and how
- 16:42Speaker 2: he doesn't envy Cody at all, and actually he's worried
- 16:44Speaker 2: about him. He's worried about how he has to manage
- 16:47Speaker 2: all of these women, yeah, and all these marriages. And
- 16:50Speaker 2: it kind of felt to me like Brett was trying
- 16:53Speaker 2: to pick up on the fact that, like the wives
- 16:55Speaker 2: were not happy. Yes, but it kind of seemed like
- 16:58Speaker 2: the way it was edited that he was like repping
- 17:01Speaker 2: for Cody more.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Yeah, like he's talking about having seen Cody running around
- 17:06Speaker 1: and being super busy and like constantly taking care of
- 17:10Speaker 1: all these different kids and wives and homes, and that
- 17:13Speaker 1: there was like underlying tension in the family. Like so
- 17:17Speaker 1: I felt like he was trying to call that out. Yeah,
- 17:19Speaker 1: he didn't really know what was going on, maybe, but
- 17:22Speaker 1: he was trying to alert us. And then later in
- 17:24Speaker 1: this episode we get his wife, Ava, who also has
- 17:27Speaker 1: some opinions on the matter. So apparently though, when Brett
- 17:30Speaker 1: and Ava go to visit in this episode, they both
- 17:33Speaker 1: feel like something is amiss, something is wrong in the
- 17:36Speaker 1: family with the wives and Cody.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Which is crazy because they're trying to portray like they're fine,
- 17:41Speaker 2: I mean not really, like Christine says that she's sad
- 17:43Speaker 2: and everything, like it's obvious, but they are trying to
- 17:46Speaker 2: like keep it together. But like you have these friends
- 17:49Speaker 2: coming into town and they're.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Like, damnious, what's going on over here?
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 17:53Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 17:54Speaker 2: And so then everybody kind of breaks off because after
- 17:57Speaker 2: Cody and Brett finish wrestling, they go and take a
- 17:59Speaker 2: shower today together.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Well, Cody does say, let's go get a shower. I mean,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and I had to wonder to myself together I know,
- 18:08Speaker 1: separately whose house cameras.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I was thinking, I'm like, can the cameras follow that?
- 18:13Speaker 1: Can I see great?
- 18:14Speaker 2: I'd like to see it. I want to see. Anyway,
- 18:17Speaker 2: they go shower together, and then the guys go and
- 18:19Speaker 2: do their thing, and then the girls do their own thing,
- 18:21Speaker 2: and so all of the whis end up taking a
- 18:24Speaker 2: trip to some zoo or something like that.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Well, this is where we learn that Robin unequivocally does
- 18:32Speaker 1: not like animals evil and I don't get it, and
- 18:35Speaker 1: I don't understand, like I do. I do understand somebody
- 18:38Speaker 1: saying like, you know what, I animals are great. Of course,
- 18:41Speaker 1: the animals are beautiful. I just don't want to live
- 18:43Speaker 1: with animals. They don't have like a life that can
- 18:45Speaker 1: support that nonsense for me. Same as somebody saying like,
- 18:49Speaker 1: I'm you know, children or children babies are great, but
- 18:51Speaker 1: I don't want any babies. And that's completely valid. But
- 18:54Speaker 1: like Robin just coming out of the gate and saying like, yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I don't like animals. They poop and they pee and
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'm not into it.
- 19:01Speaker 2: And then she's like at the zoo and she's like
- 19:03Speaker 2: giving stank face to every animal, like she's like not
- 19:06Speaker 2: even petting them. She thinks they're all disgusting. I'm just like, wow,
- 19:10Speaker 2: you're kind of bitz.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I mean, like, didn't your own children poop and pee?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Like what did you? Oh, you got a nanny. That's right, right,
- 19:16Speaker 1: you didn't have to deal with exactly, you just got
- 19:18Speaker 1: yourself a nanny exactly. Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, So Robin's like freaking out by all the animals
- 19:23Speaker 2: touching her because how dare animals touch It's ridiculous. Meanwhile,
- 19:30Speaker 2: you have Mary just having a snake necklace, just walking around.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Truly like holding Truly and truly's petting the snake holding Christine.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Both Mary and Christine are petting the snake. And then
- 19:43Speaker 1: Janelle goes up to a camel and shares a carrot
- 19:47Speaker 1: right out of her mouth. And yeah, all of the
- 19:49Speaker 1: kids are doing it. Everybody's having a great time, except
- 19:51Speaker 1: for Robin, who's hanging back and just judging everybody because
- 19:55Speaker 1: she doesn't like animals. I'm sorry, something is wrong with
- 19:57Speaker 1: you if like you don't like the entire animal kingdom.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Agreed.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I can understand if you said, you know, I don't
- 20:02Speaker 1: like cats, Like, sure, cats don't get off, but you
- 20:05Speaker 1: don't like animals.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Not a single animal animal. I know. I'm like, there's
- 20:10Speaker 2: got to be an animal.
- 20:10Speaker 1: You think it's cute.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Demon Well, and you've seen the footage of her with
- 20:17Speaker 2: the dog.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Right kicking Mary's dog.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yes, yes, she's evil.
- 20:20Speaker 1: So did not hesitate to kick a dog? No, didn't
- 20:23Speaker 1: even think about it. Probably didn't even realize she.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Kicked a dog. No, not at all. And then we
- 20:28Speaker 2: have Ava Brett's wife having a little commentary to herself
- 20:33Speaker 2: to the camera saying that you know, yeah, it's interesting
- 20:37Speaker 2: observing the wives and observing their polygamous family because they're
- 20:40Speaker 2: everything that they portray themselves to be, although you do
- 20:43Speaker 2: feel some tension sometimes every now and then, but like, yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 2: they seem to love each other. Yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I was wondering what tension she was referring to. But
- 20:53Speaker 1: when we get to the picnic portion of the women's
- 20:56Speaker 1: day out and we kind of get to Mary and
- 20:59Speaker 1: we're asking Mary to like, how are you doing? How
- 21:01Speaker 1: are you feeling? Like Mary is not happy in her
- 21:04Speaker 1: life right now, not happy at all. And we also
- 21:07Speaker 1: have Janelle saying something like, yeah, like we used to
- 21:10Speaker 1: meet for dinner two to three times a week, and
- 21:12Speaker 1: we really haven't done that since Robin came. Yep, I
- 21:16Speaker 1: did say that, right, we really haven't done that in
- 21:18Speaker 1: a while. Maybe we should get back to that. And
- 21:20Speaker 1: then Robin says something like, well, yeah, you know, Janelle
- 21:24Speaker 1: and Christine and I we hang out together, but like Mary,
- 21:29Speaker 1: we don't really see you a lot. And that's probably
- 21:31Speaker 1: because we have kids. Yeah, you don't because you're infertile
- 21:35Speaker 1: and you're not really a woman, and that's why Cody
- 21:37Speaker 1: doesn't love you. Because of course Robin brings up Mary's
- 21:42Speaker 1: infertility or issues conceiving or whatever. Anytime Robin can bring
- 21:46Speaker 1: that up, she does. Oh and she does it right
- 21:49Speaker 1: here at the picnic.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I know.
- 21:50Speaker 2: It's like constant. It's so hurtful. And of course, like Mary,
- 21:54Speaker 2: she doesn't really get emotional at the picnic per se.
- 21:57Speaker 2: She clams up, though she does. She clams up because
- 22:01Speaker 2: she can't talk about vulnerability at all. And it was
- 22:04Speaker 2: just like really weird. Like I think Robin was the
- 22:07Speaker 2: one to point it out too, that Mary tends to
- 22:09Speaker 2: withdraw from the family, like when she's like not feeling
- 22:12Speaker 2: well or like she's going through a tough time, and
- 22:15Speaker 2: I think she was like trying to pry that out
- 22:17Speaker 2: of Mary, but Mary again walls up, can't do it.
- 22:21Speaker 2: And then Christine says something like, well, maybe we should
- 22:23Speaker 2: have like more spontaneous times to hang out, Like maybe
- 22:26Speaker 2: we should just not really plan it, like let's just
- 22:29Speaker 2: make a conscious effort to hang out with each other,
- 22:31Speaker 2: even if it's spontaneous, And Robin and Mary laugh at her,
- 22:35Speaker 2: and I'm like Christine's genuinely just trying to co sign
- 22:39Speaker 2: what Janelle's saying and say like we should hang out together,
- 22:42Speaker 2: we should have more time together.
- 22:44Speaker 1: And Mary even says something like, yeah, I kind of
- 22:46Speaker 1: just prefer to hang out in my house and work
- 22:48Speaker 1: on my projects and do the things that interest me.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Like Mary is not interested in having friendships with these women,
- 22:56Speaker 1: and Robin acting like she's somehow closer to Christine in
- 23:00Speaker 1: Janelle versus. Mary is a lie, so she doesn't hang
- 23:03Speaker 1: out with any of these women. Now, is this the
- 23:06Speaker 1: part where we get the women on the couch And
- 23:09Speaker 1: Christine says something like, yeah, with Cody, you can always
- 23:14Speaker 1: tell which wife he's been hanging around when he comes
- 23:17Speaker 1: to your house, because he talks differently, he acts differently.
- 23:22Speaker 1: What did you make of that statement from Christine.
- 23:25Speaker 2: That was crazy? I mean the fact that she had
- 23:27Speaker 2: the balls to say that, like on the couch on DV,
- 23:30Speaker 2: Like you could tell that Cody and Robin off guard
- 23:33Speaker 2: because they both looked at each other like very like suspicious,
- 23:36Speaker 2: like oh my god, they caught us, like they just
- 23:38Speaker 2: thought it was so weird that she pointed it out.
- 23:41Speaker 2: But Janelle co signed it too, so did Mary, Like
- 23:43Speaker 2: I can tell he you've been talking to by some
- 23:45Speaker 2: of the things that you say, and Mary says the
- 23:47Speaker 2: same thing, and.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, oh yes, and that's the tension. Yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 1: And that's where we're having a disconnect with these women
- 23:56Speaker 1: because he is at this point in twenty fourteen, I
- 23:59Speaker 1: think we are spending way more time with Robin, and
- 24:02Speaker 1: he's becoming indoctrinated to her way of thinking, being and existing.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And so by the time he deigns to spend any
- 24:10Speaker 1: time with the other wives, he's mimicking her. He's parroting
- 24:13Speaker 1: the same talking points. He's changing as a person. And
- 24:17Speaker 1: we have always said, like, yeah, Cody might be the
- 24:20Speaker 1: head of the family, but Robin is the neck and
- 24:22Speaker 1: the neck turns the head exact and so he's changing
- 24:25Speaker 1: and the women are noticing it, and that is causing
- 24:27Speaker 1: this underlying rift between everybody.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Oh definitely, I mean you can already feel it. And like,
- 24:33Speaker 2: I think the wives are trying to get together more
- 24:36Speaker 2: just because they're all lonely. Like I think that's the reason.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I think they also have Cody in their ear telling them,
- 24:41Speaker 2: like they have to be better sister wise, and they
- 24:43Speaker 2: have to be more together as a family because in Sedona,
- 24:48Speaker 2: you guys hate each other, and like, if I die,
- 24:51Speaker 2: the family's not going to be around. Like I think
- 24:53Speaker 2: that they're trying really hard to be a family, to
- 24:57Speaker 2: try and be friends with everybody, but they can't be
- 25:00Speaker 2: because Robin doesn't like any of them. I don't think Mary.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I don't think Mary does. I don't think Janelle really
- 25:07Speaker 1: does either, although Janelle just seems more laid back and
- 25:10Speaker 1: able to assimilate into different things, like she's not going
- 25:13Speaker 1: to be any problem. But I do think it's a
- 25:15Speaker 1: problem for Robin interacting with these other women, And I
- 25:18Speaker 1: do think it's a problem for Mary because Mary doesn't
- 25:21Speaker 1: trust these other women, and you know, like even though
- 25:23Speaker 1: her walls are going up in this picnic scene. Like
- 25:26Speaker 1: in her defense, I can see why because she's on
- 25:28Speaker 1: camera and she knows this conversation is performative. She knows
- 25:32Speaker 1: as soon as the camera's shut down, like they're going
- 25:35Speaker 1: to go back to doing the exact same thing that
- 25:36Speaker 1: they've been doing, that nobody really cares about her. That
- 25:40Speaker 1: Cody hasn't been sharing her home in her space for
- 25:43Speaker 1: probably a year or more at this point, yep, So
- 25:46Speaker 1: she knows this is all fake, and so she's not
- 25:47Speaker 1: going to be vulnerable in front of these women because
- 25:50Speaker 1: they don't truly care. Now. What I thought was interesting, though,
- 25:54Speaker 1: is that while these conversations are going on, like Ava
- 25:57Speaker 1: is there, it actually begins with Ava bringing up polygamy
- 26:02Speaker 1: and her expectations of this family because she's like, I
- 26:04Speaker 1: honestly thought that Cody was going to be a PERV,
- 26:08Speaker 1: Like when Brett told me that y'all were polygamous, I
- 26:10Speaker 1: was sincerely grossed out, Like, you know, how could anybody
- 26:14Speaker 1: live like this? And this guy must be a PERV,
- 26:16Speaker 1: which is so offensive. So like just comes out and
- 26:21Speaker 1: says that, And I was looking at the faces of
- 26:24Speaker 1: the wives like they don't know who she is, uh uh,
- 26:27Speaker 1: Like they're just filming something with this rando woman that
- 26:31Speaker 1: Brett brought with him, yep. And like she's calling them
- 26:34Speaker 1: out for like thinking they had a degenerate lifestyle and
- 26:37Speaker 1: they did not like that at all, and I don't
- 26:39Speaker 1: blame them.
- 26:40Speaker 2: No, of course not. And then she also starts grilling
- 26:43Speaker 2: them about like Cody and him not showing PDA and
- 26:46Speaker 2: affection to all of the wives, and she's like, so
- 26:49Speaker 2: I've noticed something. When he's around all four of you,
- 26:52Speaker 2: he doesn't show any kind of affection. Why is that?
- 26:55Speaker 1: And I'm like, girl, like, wow, you don't even know
- 26:58Speaker 1: these people.
- 26:58Speaker 2: It's kind of crazy. I'm like TLC producers, put you please,
- 27:02Speaker 2: this is nuts. But like the women just give their
- 27:05Speaker 2: same old spiel of like, well, Blake, you know, we
- 27:08Speaker 2: don't want to just thrown in our face, like Mary
- 27:10Speaker 2: says that, like we know that he's fucking everybody else,
- 27:14Speaker 2: I mean mainly Robin, but like we just don't want
- 27:17Speaker 2: to be shown that because it'll make us feel bad
- 27:21Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I think it was Christine who says though, that it
- 27:24Speaker 1: was Cody's idea that they did not show public displays
- 27:28Speaker 1: of refection, whereas we were told that he was affectionate
- 27:32Speaker 1: with Mary, and then it was Janelle's mom, Cheryl, who
- 27:35Speaker 1: came along and said, like, this is upsetting to Janelle's
- 27:38Speaker 1: so don't do this. So I'm just like, it's very
- 27:40Speaker 1: interesting to see where the lore comes from.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's like who's telling the truth? Nobody, nobody.
- 27:46Speaker 2: We don't know what's true, what's real because they keep
- 27:49Speaker 2: changing the fucking script every few years. It's so annoying. Yep.
- 27:52Speaker 2: And then Ava says I think to the camera, like
- 27:55Speaker 2: I don't understand why they can't show PDA, like they
- 27:57Speaker 2: know he's sleeping with all of them, Like it does
- 28:00Speaker 2: it makes sense to me?
- 28:00Speaker 1: And I'm like yeah, but I mean, at the same time,
- 28:03Speaker 1: you're in a monogamous relationship and you're sitting out here
- 28:06Speaker 1: commenting on somebody in an alternative lifestyle. You have no
- 28:08Speaker 1: lived experience in this lifestyle, and it's just like kind
- 28:11Speaker 1: of condescending for you to have an opinion at all.
- 28:13Speaker 1: They invited you into their space, they're sharing this time
- 28:16Speaker 1: with you, and the least you could be is just
- 28:18Speaker 1: nice about it, yeah, as opposed to like looking for
- 28:20Speaker 1: all the things that could be wrong.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Right and analyzing their family.
- 28:23Speaker 1: And it's like her I didn't really like bread either. Interesting.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe we'll talk about that later.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Okay, maybe we will.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah. And then after we have this conversation at the picnic,
- 28:35Speaker 2: then we have the conversation on the couch with all
- 28:38Speaker 2: the wives, and this is where Mary talks about becoming
- 28:41Speaker 2: an empty nester because Leon's going to college and I'm snory.
- 28:47Speaker 2: You know. Mary gets really emotional here, and this is
- 28:50Speaker 2: where she starts crying because she doesn't know like what
- 28:52Speaker 2: her role is going to be in life, what her
- 28:54Speaker 2: role is going to be in the family because she's
- 28:56Speaker 2: the only one with one child. And then she talks
- 28:59Speaker 2: about Howdy doesn't understand her experience because he's not actually
- 29:03Speaker 2: gonna be an empty nester. It's just Mary, and I
- 29:06Speaker 2: think like all the subtext here is that she's lonely,
- 29:10Speaker 2: af and nobody seems to care. Like she's literally crying
- 29:14Speaker 2: on the couch and all of the wives have stank faces,
- 29:17Speaker 2: like Janelle's not looking at her. Christine's kind of engaging,
- 29:20Speaker 2: but like also isn't sympathetic or saying anything.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Not reaching out and just saying, oh, I totally understand.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how you feel. Necessarily, but
- 29:30Speaker 1: I totally understand that you're feeling emotional. I'm here for
- 29:32Speaker 1: Like nobody reaches out to support Mary in that moment.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Not at all, And like Mary even starts thanking Christine
- 29:39Speaker 2: and Janelle for being there for her while they were
- 29:42Speaker 2: all raising all of the kids, not just Leon, but
- 29:45Speaker 2: like she thanks Janelle and Christine for even all of
- 29:49Speaker 2: the tough years and everything, like I'm glad that you
- 29:50Speaker 2: guys were there and I really appreciate it. And then
- 29:53Speaker 2: she cries to Robin and is like, I'm really sorry
- 29:55Speaker 2: that you weren't there, and like nobody's saying anything, nobody's
- 29:59Speaker 2: consoling her, awkward, and like Mary is being so vulnerable
- 30:02Speaker 2: trying to be and nobody's saying anything. It's like kind
- 30:06Speaker 2: of wild to me. I felt bad for Mary in
- 30:08Speaker 2: this moment, but at the same time, it's like.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I don't know, yeah, but I mean we've just been
- 30:13Speaker 1: having this conversation for quite some time, like with Mary
- 30:17Speaker 1: trying to decide whether she was going to use Robin
- 30:20Speaker 1: as a surrogate or do IVF for whatever, like that
- 30:23Speaker 1: was for three seasons, and she's been trying to wrestle
- 30:26Speaker 1: with what her position and her place is in this family,
- 30:30Speaker 1: and like that's only ever as deep as we go. Yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 1: we never really talk about the other things and the
- 30:37Speaker 1: family dynamics which might be lending themselves to her feeling
- 30:40Speaker 1: lonely because even on the couch, none of these wives
- 30:43Speaker 1: reach out to her, none of these wives try to
- 30:46Speaker 1: comfort her, so truly she is alone, and that's sad.
- 30:50Speaker 1: But like something a little different, a little bit more information,
- 30:53Speaker 1: like why aren't you talking to your sister wives, Like
- 30:56Speaker 1: why doesn't Cody come over? Like tell us that's actually
- 30:58Speaker 1: happening in your home, because if you're so abjectly lonely,
- 31:01Speaker 1: it's because something else is going on that you're not
- 31:03Speaker 1: sharing Exact's what's frustrating to me.
- 31:06Speaker 2: It's like you probably wouldn't have had such an issue
- 31:09Speaker 2: with being an empty nester if you had a healthy
- 31:11Speaker 2: relationship with just one adult in the family. Like nobody
- 31:15Speaker 2: likes you, not even your husband, not even the older kids.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Really well, and I'm wondering how involved Leon has been
- 31:23Speaker 1: with Mary in terms of a relationship, but like it
- 31:25Speaker 1: might have only ever just been Leon that was Mary's friend, yeah,
- 31:30Speaker 1: or that was there to talk with Mary about Mary's issues,
- 31:33Speaker 1: And I don't know that Leon was parentified like Logan
- 31:36Speaker 1: was and Aspen was, but maybe Leon was. And so
- 31:39Speaker 1: now Mary's gonna lose the one person that she's had
- 31:44Speaker 1: at her side the entire time, Like that would be devastating. Yeah,
- 31:48Speaker 1: but Mary's not sharing at that level, so it's hard
- 31:51Speaker 1: for me to even connect with what's happening. And like,
- 31:53Speaker 1: why nobody seems to give a crap about Mary. I
- 31:57Speaker 1: know it's kind of crazy.
- 31:58Speaker 2: But doesn't she meet Jen in Las Vegas?
- 32:00Speaker 1: Guess too, So.
- 32:00Speaker 2: She'll probably meet Jen soon and it'll be fine. Yeah,
- 32:03Speaker 2: and hopefully we can get off of this fucking storyline
- 32:05Speaker 2: because it's like it is a lot. I agree with
- 32:07Speaker 2: you here. And then we jump on over to Guys Night.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Out, Oh Magoid, after everybody had their gate orgy in
- 32:15Speaker 1: the shower that we only had to imagine and it
- 32:18Speaker 1: was imagining it.
- 32:19Speaker 2: I was. I was imagining it too. Yes, Brett, Cody,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and Sean go up to the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. Yeah,
- 32:27Speaker 2: and they go up to the tippy tippy top and
- 32:29Speaker 2: they go bungee jumping, which looked very fun. I've been
- 32:31Speaker 2: on the.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Stratosphere, Okay, I think I've I don't know if I've
- 32:34Speaker 1: been up on the stratosphere.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It's fun. I went on the ride where I think
- 32:38Speaker 2: it's I can't remember what it's called, but it's the
- 32:40Speaker 2: one where you shoot up at the very top of
- 32:42Speaker 2: the needle. Very fun. Sounds fun, but the bungee jumping
- 32:45Speaker 2: looked great. I would totally do.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I would never you could Delia doing something like that.
- 32:51Speaker 1: I do not like hidespet I was.
- 32:53Speaker 2: What I was telling your daughter today. I'm like, do
- 32:55Speaker 2: that for my fiftieth birthday.
- 32:57Speaker 1: What about like skydiving? Would you do something like that?
- 32:59Speaker 2: I don't know if I could do skydiving because that's
- 33:01Speaker 2: like you could die. I mean I could die. Yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 2: that's scary. But I would totally do a bunch of
- 33:06Speaker 2: jumping ziplining from a top of a cliff like that'd
- 33:09Speaker 2: be so great.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Wow, yeah, that kind of stuff. So the guys seem excited.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I think Cody's trying to pretend he's really excited.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I think the producers have coordinated this event totally. I
- 33:20Speaker 1: don't know that Cody was like one hundred percent on board,
- 33:22Speaker 1: but like Brett's totally into it. He goes first and
- 33:24Speaker 1: he just launches himself off the side of the building,
- 33:27Speaker 1: and Cody's like, damn yeah. And then Sean goes next,
- 33:29Speaker 1: and Shawn's maybe a little bit nervous, but he launches
- 33:32Speaker 1: himself off the building and Cody's just in the background nervous. Yeah,
- 33:35Speaker 1: he's talking. He doesn't want to not do it because
- 33:39Speaker 1: then he won't be a real man, which is kind
- 33:41Speaker 1: of like what the theme of this entire episode is
- 33:45Speaker 1: is like how much of a man is Cody? Not
- 33:47Speaker 1: much of a man, as it turns out, not much
- 33:50Speaker 1: of a man. But he finally gets his turn and
- 33:53Speaker 1: he forces himself to launch himself off of the strants there.
- 33:58Speaker 1: He screams all the way down, and then they go
- 34:00Speaker 1: to dinner and they have a conversation about male leadership
- 34:05Speaker 1: and I'm a snoring.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I kind of hated this conversation because the men were
- 34:10Speaker 2: kind of coming for like the wives and just telling
- 34:13Speaker 2: Cody like, how can you deal with all these women?
- 34:17Speaker 2: Am I right? How can you deal with all these
- 34:19Speaker 2: women in their thoughts and opinions?
- 34:22Speaker 1: It's like in their lives and like they're existing around you.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Are you okay?
- 34:27Speaker 2: Bro? Like? How can you lead with all this estrogen around?
- 34:30Speaker 2: It's like shut the fuck up.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Well, and Brett's like, you know, I'm obviously in a
- 34:35Speaker 1: monogamous relationship with my hoe ass wife Ava. Sorry, and
- 34:40Speaker 1: you know, when it comes down to it, like I lead,
- 34:44Speaker 1: it's my choice, it's my decision, and she knows that,
- 34:48Speaker 1: and so I'm in charge. But like, Cody, my guy,
- 34:51Speaker 1: are you really in charge though? Because you seem really
- 34:53Speaker 1: busy just running from house to house to house with
- 34:55Speaker 1: your hair flipping in the wind, and it seems like
- 34:57Speaker 1: your women are actually telling you how it's going to be.
- 35:01Speaker 1: So looks like you're a little bit of a cook.
- 35:03Speaker 1: That's just what I'm getting. That's what I'm feeling.
- 35:06Speaker 2: What they're telling you, a cook man, you're a beta
- 35:09Speaker 2: ass simp, Like that's what they're saying.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yes, that's what it was giving.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I was kind of watching this and I'm like, damn,
- 35:14Speaker 2: I kind of feel bad for Cody just a little
- 35:16Speaker 2: bit of this conversation, Like it's kind of great to
- 35:18Speaker 2: have these men, like these real men telling him you
- 35:21Speaker 2: know what I mean, you know what I mean, Like
- 35:23Speaker 2: these these macho men compared to Cody telling him you're
- 35:27Speaker 2: a loser.
- 35:28Speaker 1: These women are running you around.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you're a beta and Cody's like, well, I'm an
- 35:32Speaker 2: alpha mil.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Like he just says those words like I've never
- 35:36Speaker 1: met a manly man. Who ever said I'm a manly man? Duh?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Like look at me, I'm all man honey, Like right, No,
- 35:43Speaker 1: you just know when you're in the presence of a
- 35:46Speaker 1: man who's a man exactly, and if you are an
- 35:49Speaker 1: insecure man who's trying to compete in the world of men,
- 35:53Speaker 1: you say something like I'm an alpha male.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I mean, duh.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Look, I'm the leader. It's me absolutely. I lead this family.
- 35:59Speaker 2: I lead it very subtlely, though, Yeah, that's what he says,
- 36:02Speaker 2: very subtle leadership, Like wow, you mean passive leadership.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Non leadership is my type of leadership.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I guess I kind of wonder if, like all of
- 36:12Speaker 2: these conversations that Cody has had on camera so far,
- 36:15Speaker 2: and maybe off camera he probably has other guys telling him, like,
- 36:18Speaker 2: you're kind of a beta, yeah, Like, I wonder if
- 36:20Speaker 2: this started maybe his dad, well maybe.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I think his dad is still alive at this point,
- 36:25Speaker 1: maybe this.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Started his whole like manisphere pipeline like path where he
- 36:29Speaker 2: started going down like the alpha male road like the
- 36:33Speaker 2: Andrew Tates.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Yeah, because when did that emerge in the zeitgeist because
- 36:36Speaker 1: this is like twenty fourteen, twenty.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Fifteen something like that. I'm thinking, like.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Andrew Tait and QAnon and all of that weird stuff
- 36:44Speaker 1: started like twenty eighteen.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Something like that.
- 36:47Speaker 1: But there was, but it was it was in the ether.
- 36:49Speaker 2: There had to have been like other alpha males back
- 36:51Speaker 2: then that we just didn't.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I wasn't paying it. I still don't pay attention.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I don't pay attention to it at all. But I
- 36:56Speaker 2: just wonder if this kind of started it, because Cody
- 36:59Speaker 2: does seem insecure here and like he's trying to prove
- 37:02Speaker 2: the fact that he is the leader of his family,
- 37:05Speaker 2: and he goes on in his talking head about how
- 37:07Speaker 2: he's the leader of his family and like, yeah, I
- 37:10Speaker 2: listened to their concerns and everything, but ultimately I'm the man,
- 37:13Speaker 2: and they all know that I'm the man, and they
- 37:15Speaker 2: all know that I'm the one that makes the decisions.
- 37:17Speaker 2: And it's like, okay, I don't think so. And then
- 37:20Speaker 2: we go on the couch and we talk about the
- 37:22Speaker 2: situation where Janelle refused to move to Utah when they
- 37:28Speaker 2: were living in Wyoming, right, and Janelle's the one that
- 37:30Speaker 2: brings it up, I think, and she's like, yeah, Cody
- 37:33Speaker 2: was trying to tell me that I needed to move
- 37:34Speaker 2: to Utah and I'm I'm not gonna do that.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Well, actually, Cody is the one who brings up this
- 37:39Speaker 1: story to the guys at dinner as if to demonstrate
- 37:42Speaker 1: how much of a leader he was. Oh right, Like,
- 37:45Speaker 1: the story actually illustrates that he's not a leader, because
- 37:48Speaker 1: in the story, he's telling Janelle when they're living in Wyoming, look,
- 37:51Speaker 1: I've got this job opportunity in Utah. We've got to go.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Let's go. And Janelle's like, absolutely not uncomfortable here. If
- 37:57Speaker 1: you want to go, get on go. And so Cody
- 37:59Speaker 1: does leave, and then Janelle at some point starts to
- 38:02Speaker 1: miss him, and of course she's got children with him,
- 38:05Speaker 1: and so she decides on her own because she's a Taurus, Honey,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you can't move a Torus until she's ready to go. Yep,
- 38:10Speaker 1: she decides on her own that she's going to move
- 38:12Speaker 1: to where Cody is in Utah. But like the way
- 38:14Speaker 1: Cody's describing it is like, yeah, I won that one,
- 38:17Speaker 1: I'm like, no, Actually, Janelle was the leader in that,
- 38:20Speaker 1: because Janelle said no, Janelle did exactly what she wanted
- 38:23Speaker 1: to do, and when Janelle was ready, she's like, Okay,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I missed the d You'm go to move to Utah
- 38:27Speaker 1: and then she does Yeah, so Janelle led, Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Good job Cody, Yeah, real leader alpha male. So ridiculous.
- 38:36Speaker 2: I said that whole thing was so dumb. And then
- 38:38Speaker 2: I think we talk more about like Cody and Brett's relationship,
- 38:41Speaker 2: and I just like, don't care at all. And then
- 38:44Speaker 2: we end the episode with Mary and her random TLC
- 38:48Speaker 2: producer friend Andrea going too Joey Anne Fabrics, Yeah, to
- 38:52Speaker 2: pick out fabric for Leon's blanket for college. R Mary's
- 38:57Speaker 2: gonna make them a blanket of purple gold and whatever.
- 39:02Speaker 2: And this is where Mary again talks about how sad
- 39:04Speaker 2: she is of being an empty nester.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I did find it interesting, though, that Mary does seem
- 39:11Speaker 1: to have a lot of great women friends around her.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I think that's a testament to her character overall. And
- 39:19Speaker 1: of course we have never met Andrea, and we know
- 39:22Speaker 1: that while Mary's in Vegas, she's going to start making
- 39:25Speaker 1: more friends and then we're going to have even more
- 39:27Speaker 1: friends as the seasons go on. But like, Mary can't
- 39:30Speaker 1: be all that bad if She's got friends that are
- 39:33Speaker 1: showing up for her when Cody won't, when Robin's not there,
- 39:37Speaker 1: when the other wives don't care. You've got this person
- 39:39Speaker 1: Andrea who's going to take her to the fabric store
- 39:41Speaker 1: maybe to work on this blanket, and they have the
- 39:43Speaker 1: conversation about empty nesters, and she has friends there for her.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I just think that that says a lot about her. Yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 1: it could maybe mean girls have friends though too, that's true,
- 39:54Speaker 1: But I mean, like, I don't think she's a mean
- 39:56Speaker 1: girl with these women. I think these women genuinely really
- 39:58Speaker 1: like Mary. Yeah, that means Mary, he's likable. I think
- 40:01Speaker 1: that furthers our argument that Mary just doesn't show us
- 40:05Speaker 1: who she really is on this show. Like and she's
- 40:08Speaker 1: been talking in the Year of Our Lord twenty twenty
- 40:10Speaker 1: five about like, you know, worthying up and you're gonna
- 40:13Speaker 1: see me and when I can talk, I'm going to talk.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Because I guess she's felt the need over all of
- 40:19Speaker 1: these seasons to continue to hide, continue to lie, continue
- 40:23Speaker 1: to project this beautiful family that never was. So I
- 40:27Speaker 1: just think that underneath that all, if we had ever
- 40:29Speaker 1: seen the real Mary, she would have been a chill,
- 40:31Speaker 1: awesome girl and we would have liked.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Her definitely, and maybe if she was the real Mary
- 40:36Speaker 2: with like Christine and Chanelle, they probably would have had
- 40:38Speaker 2: like a better relationship. And like maybe if they could
- 40:40Speaker 2: have actually talked about their issues and stuff and like
- 40:43Speaker 2: went to therapy together and actually dug deep into the
- 40:47Speaker 2: root of their issues, maybe they could have all been friends.
- 40:49Speaker 2: But I digress. Yeah, and then we have the preview
- 40:53Speaker 2: where we have Aspen and Leon discussing their parents dancing
- 40:58Speaker 2: at their graduations.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah, the graduation party and what they want and what
- 41:02Speaker 1: they expect, and everybody's super excited about it because they
- 41:06Speaker 1: love a party, those Browns.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I mean, hey. And then we have Robin saying she
- 41:10Speaker 2: wants to hire a fortune teller.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Right, well, she does bring in like a tarot card reader,
- 41:16Speaker 1: which I'm just like, okay, hold up.
- 41:17Speaker 2: At Leon's graduation.
- 41:18Speaker 1: At Leon's graduation party. But like there's these rumors again
- 41:23Speaker 1: in the ethers about Robin being kind of witchy woo
- 41:26Speaker 1: woo and having her crystals and everything in her house
- 41:29Speaker 1: and what if she's a witch and we're all talking
- 41:31Speaker 1: about manifesting all of a sudden. I don't think she's
- 41:34Speaker 1: a witch, Don't get me wrong. I think she's probably
- 41:36Speaker 1: a bit new age metaphysical. But it's just curious to
- 41:39Speaker 1: me that a bunch of Mormon fundamentalists would have a
- 41:43Speaker 1: tarot card reader. I know, like Olivia, maybe that was
- 41:45Speaker 1: her first step too of leaving the religion. She got
- 41:48Speaker 1: herself a tarot card reading. Maybe that's just bizarre.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Taro's the gateway drug, maybe, so it's kind of ridiculous.
- 41:54Speaker 2: But the tarot reader says that Cody's gonna have a
- 41:57Speaker 2: fifth wife, and Cody seems awkward about that. And then
- 42:02Speaker 2: we have Mary at Leon's graduation and she's like freaking
- 42:05Speaker 2: the fuck out because she can't see Leon walk down
- 42:08Speaker 2: the state right, and she's getting all.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Dramatic, having a tantrum.
- 42:11Speaker 2: My God, And then we have the graduation party for it,
- 42:14Speaker 2: I think Leon ann aspin.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Yes, and all the adults are dancing and it's super cringe. Yeah,
- 42:20Speaker 1: making it about themselves, of course, because anytime Cody can
- 42:23Speaker 1: dance for the public, he's going to do it, and he's.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Going to do it so bad.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Yes, he is. Well again, you know, this was like
- 42:29Speaker 1: kind of a nothing burger episode. Yeah, but if you've
- 42:32Speaker 1: got your monocles out and if you're sniffing the air
- 42:35Speaker 1: like we do as raccoons, we can smell some homosexicality. Yeah,
- 42:39Speaker 1: we can see the tension and things are becoming clear. Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 1: what's going on in the cul de Sac is not good.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I just didn't know because I didn't watch these seasons either.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I didn't know that it was from the very beginning.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I thought like the family started to fall apart, like
- 42:54Speaker 1: maybe midway through the cul de Sac journey, But it
- 42:57Speaker 1: was like from the first months that it all began.
- 42:59Speaker 2: From the ever since Robin came into the picture, like
- 43:02Speaker 2: they were struggling.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but they thought that the cul de Sac was
- 43:06Speaker 1: the answer to bringing it all back together. But like
- 43:10Speaker 1: it feels like Robin just ramped up her antics and
- 43:13Speaker 1: started demanding more of his time and money. And again
- 43:16Speaker 1: you have Janell, who doesn't give a crap as long
- 43:18Speaker 1: as she's fine and comfortable. You've got Mary who's just
- 43:21Speaker 1: stuck in her silence in her lonely haunted home. And
- 43:24Speaker 1: then you get Christine, who at this point is just
- 43:27Speaker 1: stewing in her jealousy and having to negotiate for time
- 43:33Speaker 1: with Cody by giving her garage up for wrestling mats.
- 43:36Speaker 1: It's like actually pretty sad. It is really crazy. I
- 43:40Speaker 1: like feel bad for Christine in this moment because she's
- 43:42Speaker 1: like angry and justifiably so, like she's upset and sad,
- 43:46Speaker 1: but like, who does she have to talk to nobody?
- 43:48Speaker 2: Nobody?
- 43:48Speaker 1: She just can drop like little bombs on the couch
- 43:51Speaker 1: to let everybody else know what's going on.
- 43:53Speaker 2: That's it.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Oh by the way, if you're watching on YouTube, how
- 43:56Speaker 1: many of you have pre ordered Christine books? Oh yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 1: drop a comment and or are you looking forward to
- 44:04Speaker 1: her book? Do we think that there's going to be
- 44:06Speaker 1: something of interest there? Because you know, there was a
- 44:08Speaker 1: rumor that Cody got attorneys involved demanding that Christine acts
- 44:16Speaker 1: one of the chapters in her book because I guess
- 44:21Speaker 1: it dealt with one hundred thousand dollars that went missing
- 44:24Speaker 1: out of the family fund. This is the rumor. And
- 44:26Speaker 1: I don't know, obviously, and I would hope that Christine
- 44:30Speaker 1: wouldn't remove that.
- 44:31Speaker 2: From the book.
- 44:32Speaker 1: So maybe it will be in the book, But there's
- 44:34Speaker 1: a rumor he asked her to remove that part of
- 44:37Speaker 1: the book because she was outing him for stealing money allegedly.
- 44:40Speaker 1: I don't know, so, I mean, like I kind of
- 44:42Speaker 1: want to order it.
- 44:43Speaker 2: You should.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Well, it's like twenty six bucks and it's just guaranteed
- 44:48Speaker 1: to be lame. It's guaranteed to not give me what
- 44:50Speaker 1: I want. But I feel like it is our professional duty.
- 44:53Speaker 1: We should read it and review it because yeah, I'm
- 44:58Speaker 1: sure everybody wants us to. Well, maybe we can talk
- 45:00Speaker 1: about it in like the after show. I do like
- 45:02Speaker 1: chapter by chapter and like get into it. But I'm
- 45:04Speaker 1: just wondering if you guys are interested, are you looking
- 45:07Speaker 1: forward to it or you're like, I'm not giving these
- 45:08Speaker 1: people any more money? How do you feel? Let us
- 45:11Speaker 1: know in the comments or on Instagram. You can DM
- 45:13Speaker 1: our girl Beatrice. She loves see her form. Yeah, well now, Beatrice,
- 45:17Speaker 1: is there anything else that we need to say to
- 45:19Speaker 1: these beautiful raccoons before we start our after show?

- 45:35Speaker 1: We are going to move now to our after show.
- 45:36Speaker 1: We're going to be talking about a lot of gossipy items,

- 45:45Speaker 1: please do not forget that we have nothing but love
- 45:48Speaker 1: for you and peace. A night, guys,
