- 0:00Speaker 1: Chat GPT, I need support. It's one more thing.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I'm Katie's taking the lead on the podcast today. She's
- 0:09Speaker 2: got a tail to tail. Before we get to that, though,
- 0:10Speaker 2: I did want to mention whoever's parking in my parking spot,
- 0:13Speaker 2: I'm going to slash your tires. I'm announcing it ahead
- 0:16Speaker 2: of time.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Wow, we don't have reserved parking.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Spots bends and I you look at it, that's my
- 0:24Speaker 2: parking kind of.
- 0:25Speaker 3: A common law parking spot exactly.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Somebody who gets here earlier than me because I get
- 0:33Speaker 2: it very early by normal work standards, and then taking
- 0:36Speaker 2: my spot and I'm going to slash your tires. Would
- 0:39Speaker 2: that be a misdemeanor assume? Oh yeah, my god.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you can empty the shelf of cvs after CVS
- 0:46Speaker 3: and it's not a felony in California.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'll buy them new tires, but I'm hoping the inconvenience
- 0:50Speaker 2: of it will make them stop parking in my spot. Now,
- 0:53Speaker 2: somebody here suggested I make a sign. Well, I won't
- 0:57Speaker 2: just make a sign and just say reserved, like I
- 1:00Speaker 2: doubt anybody would ever stop me.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just get a little stencil and spray painted
- 1:06Speaker 3: on the curb. Reserved parking perfect with like a red
- 1:12Speaker 3: outline or something.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, sod, okay, back to you, kittie.
- 1:16Speaker 1: All right, Well I mentioned it.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I don't know a couple months ago that I was
- 1:20Speaker 4: going to be going through the in vitro IVF process
- 1:24Speaker 4: because Drew and I want to have a child.
- 1:26Speaker 2: And why do people do that? I don't know that
- 1:28Speaker 2: much about it.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Uh, some of it has to do with infertility.
- 1:31Speaker 1: You just can't have a kid naturally.
- 1:33Speaker 4: For for my situation, it's because I have a hereditary
- 1:36Speaker 4: disease that makes conceiving difficult and then also it's a
- 1:41Speaker 4: fifty to fifty chance that the kid gets it. So
- 1:43Speaker 4: we're going through a different processing. Yeah, we're actually doing
- 1:46Speaker 4: the genetic testing, which is going to be incredible, where
- 1:49Speaker 4: they're going to take my eggs and figure out which
- 1:52Speaker 4: one of or which one which ones do not have
- 1:55Speaker 4: the polycystic kidney disease.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And then those are the ones we're going to use.
- 1:58Speaker 3: The fact that that is possible is mind blowing.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It really is. And does insurance pay for this or no? No?
- 2:07Speaker 2: Is it expensive?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yes it is, yes it is.
- 2:13Speaker 4: But so this this week or this week and next
- 2:17Speaker 4: week is the start of it. And my first day
- 2:20Speaker 4: of the dreaded medication was yesterday, which for anybody who's
- 2:24Speaker 4: familiar with it knows that it's all done with a syringe.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Like like, hm, you can ask, It's fine, ask whatever.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Are you sticking a needle in your arm?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Are you in my stomach?
- 2:39Speaker 2: So you're giving yourself shots in the stomach, So you're
- 2:43Speaker 2: not like literally in the stomach in the abdomen, right.
- 2:47Speaker 1: And well, yeah, the abb like right next to my
- 2:49Speaker 1: belly button.
- 2:51Speaker 2: What's the difference.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Well, because if it was in your stomach, that would
- 2:55Speaker 3: be penetrating your skin, your muscles.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And people say stomach.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I'm I'm just.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Trying to be accurate here, So don't you.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Quibble with my quibbling. I don't like the tummy shots.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I had to get those every day when I have
- 3:08Speaker 2: my gallbladder taken out. Oh so you know what you're
- 3:11Speaker 2: talking about, stomach? Oh good?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Did you give it to yourself or did you have to?
- 3:16Speaker 2: I can't imagine doing it myself.
- 3:18Speaker 4: So you're on the same page that I am sent.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I just sent you, guys a series of photos I
- 3:24Speaker 4: received in the mail. Don't a week and a half
- 3:27Speaker 4: ago a box that was the size of I don't know,
- 3:33Speaker 4: like a a microwave. It was about that big, just
- 3:37Speaker 4: filled to the brim with syringes and needles and vials,
- 3:43Speaker 4: and I had a full blown panic attack because I
- 3:45Speaker 4: don't do well despite all of the tattoos and piercings
- 3:48Speaker 4: with needles.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Well yeah, it.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Actually it looked like you were running some sort of
- 3:52Speaker 3: small town clinic and you were getting your supplies for
- 3:55Speaker 3: the moment.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I think you got to be a pretty weird person
- 3:57Speaker 2: if you're just perfectly sanguine about giving yourself shots in
- 4:02Speaker 2: the stomach.
- 4:03Speaker 4: This was keeping me up at night, and I was
- 4:07Speaker 4: emotional and scared, wondering if I was even gonna.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Go through with this.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, that's too bad. I can believe that
- 4:13Speaker 2: though I would. I can imagine, yeah, this is important,
- 4:16Speaker 2: I have to do it, but I don't know if
- 4:18Speaker 2: I can yesh.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I was trying to watch videos on YouTube of people
- 4:23Speaker 4: giving injections just because the sight of a needle going
- 4:27Speaker 4: into skin gives me an issue to I hope there is.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Anybody who's continuing to listen to this.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Is there anything, Yes, Michael.
- 4:37Speaker 5: I have to for insulin. I gotta get injections into
- 4:40Speaker 5: the stomach area. Sometimes do you give me to yourself? No,
- 4:42Speaker 5: my wife does. And so that's what I was gonna
- 4:44Speaker 5: ask Katie. Is her husband to be doing this?
- 4:47Speaker 4: No, he's working at the time frame that I have
- 4:50Speaker 4: to do this during the day.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So if your wife's mad at you, does she ever really? Yeah?
- 4:55Speaker 5: Sometimes?
- 4:56Speaker 2: Oh wow? So can you do anything like the old timing?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Like if you've got a tooth that needs to come
- 5:02Speaker 2: out and you tie a string around it and put
- 5:03Speaker 2: it to the doorknob, somebody opens the door out comes
- 5:06Speaker 2: your tooth. Can you do anything like that with a
- 5:08Speaker 2: shot in the stomach.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:10Speaker 1: No, I mean there are tips that you can use.
- 5:13Speaker 1: But I actually booby trap yeah right, but my other
- 5:20Speaker 1: hand over a flame. I'm trying to dart gun. Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 4: But so I went to chat GPT because we've been
- 5:27Speaker 4: talking about it so much, and I just typed in,
- 5:30Speaker 4: I need support. I'm doing and this is what I'm
- 5:33Speaker 4: doing and I am to the point of terrified where
- 5:36Speaker 4: I might not do it. This thing gave me eight
- 5:41Speaker 4: pages of ways that people get through their fears of injections,
- 5:47Speaker 4: Things that I can do prior to the shot, things
- 5:49Speaker 4: to do during the shot, I mean everything. So I
- 5:51Speaker 4: went through and I read it all and I utilized
- 5:54Speaker 4: some of it, and I gave myself the shot yesterday,
- 5:56Speaker 4: no problem.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Wow, mind is chat GPT And.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Once you get past, you know, the first fear and
- 6:03Speaker 3: the realities, Yeah, you're probably good now.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 4: And I called I called my parents crying. I was like,
- 6:09Speaker 4: I just did it, and that that was the hurdle.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I mean, that was the.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Thought of taking a vial in the needle and having
- 6:17Speaker 4: to do it myself was just out of the question.
- 6:19Speaker 4: And I chat GPT, honest to God, gave me this
- 6:24Speaker 4: this boost, Like, Okay, here are some things you can do.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Try it.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Is there any chance you'll be raising the child, not
- 6:30Speaker 3: with your husband, but with a robot, an AI robot?
- 6:34Speaker 1: You know, if it if it keeps it up, it's
- 6:36Speaker 1: in the running.
- 6:37Speaker 2: You are, So someday gonna say to your four year
- 6:39Speaker 2: old boy, I gave myself shots in the stomach the
- 6:43Speaker 2: least you could know.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Just pick up your Oh, without a doubt, that's already
- 6:48Speaker 4: locked and loaded and you're not even on the planet.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yet, right, Oh God, that is that is interesting in
- 6:55Speaker 2: a whole bunch of different levels.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I had no idea that there were rugs
- 7:00Speaker 3: or anything. I mean, we've I had.
- 7:02Speaker 2: No idea I did it at home, that it was
- 7:04Speaker 2: a home thing.
- 7:05Speaker 3: The practical aspects of of of you know, sperm mats,
- 7:08Speaker 3: egg egg is implanted. I think we remember that.
- 7:10Speaker 2: From biology when a very much okay, but yeah wow.
- 7:15Speaker 3: So how comfortable are you with discussing what sort of
- 7:19Speaker 3: of drugs these are? Give the stiff arm whenever you want?
- 7:23Speaker 3: But so what what is it? What are you jabbing
- 7:25Speaker 3: yourself with?
- 7:26Speaker 4: So there there are two basically what hair we're gonna
- 7:29Speaker 4: get real close, guys. What what we're doing is we
- 7:31Speaker 4: are making the eggs inside of me bigger so that
- 7:34Speaker 4: my doctor can take them out.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Is what this process is. So I had an altertude.
- 7:40Speaker 2: At home yourself? Right?
- 7:41Speaker 1: No?
- 7:41Speaker 3: No?
- 7:41Speaker 4: No, well actually yeah, the shots are doing it. So
- 7:44Speaker 4: oh the egg removal. No, I'm going into They're gonna
- 7:46Speaker 4: knock me out for that, Thank god.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Get the tongs you use for spaghetti, oh for boy?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Yeah, shot back? Is that what you're saying? Oh? Okay? Anyway, So.
- 7:57Speaker 4: There there are two different medications that are are making
- 8:00Speaker 4: the eggs bigger, and then there is another medication that
- 8:04Speaker 4: is going to stop me from ovulating so she can
- 8:07Speaker 4: take the eggs and my body doesn't go, we don't
- 8:09Speaker 4: need these anymore.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Ah.
- 8:11Speaker 4: So I had a my zoom meeting yesterday was about
- 8:15Speaker 4: forty five minutes long, with the doctor teaching me how
- 8:17Speaker 4: to take five different vials of medication with needles and
- 8:21Speaker 4: put them into different things so I could get one shot.
- 8:24Speaker 4: And I told at the very end, I went, you know,
- 8:27Speaker 4: I feel like a scientist.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah, heck ya, you would do this. You are, eh.
- 8:31Speaker 2: That is what I didn't know that so much of
- 8:33Speaker 2: this stuff happened at home and you did it on
- 8:34Speaker 2: your own. I would have just assumed you're constantly going
- 8:37Speaker 2: into doctor's offices and they're doing it all.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But right, so I had I had an ultrasound yesterday.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I have one Friday, another one Monday, another one Thursday,
- 8:46Speaker 4: and then the procedure next weekend.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Did you do any uh? Do you have control over
- 8:50Speaker 2: the timing like of when you want to have a
- 8:52Speaker 2: baby born? I do, and I do shows now.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Well no, so this is just to get the eggs.
- 8:58Speaker 4: So she's going to take the eggs out there, going
- 9:00Speaker 4: to fertilize them Withdrew and then they'll be on hold
- 9:03Speaker 4: for whenever I want to get pregnant.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Wow, so you can pick the day.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Yeah, completely, They freeze them and she goes and don't worry,
- 9:10Speaker 4: they don't get freezer burn.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I was like, oh, well, thank you, so good.
- 9:12Speaker 2: That's reassured.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Very good to know.
- 9:14Speaker 2: But so, but they have to extract the.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Egg and then do the analysis right right of the
- 9:20Speaker 3: genetic stuff we were talking about earlier, and then do
- 9:23Speaker 3: the old I'd like you to meet to certain cell
- 9:26Speaker 3: I think you too will hit it off. Yeah, do
- 9:28Speaker 3: what comes natural. But then you implant it whenever you want,
- 9:31Speaker 3: and roughly forty weeks later.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, So there's a two week waiting period after
- 9:35Speaker 4: they take the eggs that they're going to go through
- 9:37Speaker 4: and go through all the little guys and then pick
- 9:40Speaker 4: the good ones and then we'll take it from there.
- 9:42Speaker 1: But science is incredible.
- 9:44Speaker 4: I I keep saying that over and over again because
- 9:46Speaker 4: I'm just my mind is blown that any of this
- 9:48Speaker 4: could be done.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, crazy.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And chat GPT helped me do it right.
- 9:56Speaker 2: And this is this the thing that for a cup
- 9:58Speaker 2: of coffee people were clai I mean Trump didn't want
- 10:01Speaker 2: to allow or something like that, which was not true.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Ridiculous yes, And we were planning this the whole time
- 10:06Speaker 4: with no fear of that because we knew that was
- 10:09Speaker 4: all while I'm on the pola.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Jd Vance and his wife did it this way.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of people do it this way.
- 10:15Speaker 4: And I was shocked at the amount of people who
- 10:18Speaker 4: were just as scared as I was.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Too, you know there.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I mean, there are support groups on Facebook and Instagram
- 10:25Speaker 4: and all these Reddit pages and whatnot, and they're all
- 10:28Speaker 4: women that are they can't have a baby.
- 10:29Speaker 1: They're praying for this to work.
- 10:30Speaker 4: But oh my god, I have to give myself a
- 10:32Speaker 4: shot in the stomach every day for two weeks.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I'm I'm I've got a needle phobia like you do.
- 10:37Speaker 2: But there are various levels of that. But like I said,
- 10:39Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's thrilled about the idea.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Hey Katie, what were some of the tips that they
- 10:44Speaker 5: gave you? If you don't mind me asking.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Well, so when you're in this situation, like you're doing
- 10:51Speaker 4: it yourself at home. My whole thing was I thought
- 10:53Speaker 4: I had to be like standing up and all these
- 10:56Speaker 4: and they gave me all this information. You can be
- 10:58Speaker 4: laying down, So go go into your bedroom and lay
- 11:01Speaker 4: down on your bed and put something on the TV
- 11:04Speaker 4: and watch that and distract yourself.
- 11:06Speaker 2: That's how a baby making thing usually starts.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Exactly right, get in the mood. No, but so you
- 11:11Speaker 4: just it was just like little things like that. Not
- 11:14Speaker 4: the ice pack, but there was another kind of like
- 11:16Speaker 4: a jack thing pinched the back of your arm on
- 11:18Speaker 4: the opposite side.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You can do that.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That's all my son does. He when he was littler,
- 11:22Speaker 2: he would bite down on his wrist when they did
- 11:24Speaker 2: stuff to him.
- 11:25Speaker 4: And I mean, but there were all these things like
- 11:27Speaker 4: reclaim your power over this fear, change the story and
- 11:29Speaker 4: your mind about needles. Look at it as a tool
- 11:31Speaker 4: of care and healing and a goal, a goal for
- 11:33Speaker 4: your future.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Just all this stuff.
- 11:36Speaker 4: You know, peekaboo technique. It's the perfect way. You don't
- 11:39Speaker 4: have to look at the needle at all. You can
- 11:40Speaker 4: cover it with a cloth until the very last second. Aha,
- 11:44Speaker 4: which I didn't do.
- 11:45Speaker 2: But could you like this stuff matters? Could you wed?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Could you wedget in a couch cushion and then just
- 11:52Speaker 2: run and dive on top of it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I wish that that was possible. It would have been
- 11:57Speaker 1: more fun.
- 11:57Speaker 2: But wow, I don't know that I could, like, mentally,
- 12:02Speaker 2: I think I could get there, but I don't know
- 12:03Speaker 2: if I could keep myself from like flinching and pulling away.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I mean, I just I don't know if I could
- 12:07Speaker 2: do that. I suppose you got to figure it out.
- 12:10Speaker 2: That's why you went to chat GPT I did until
- 12:12Speaker 2: you did.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah, And they also the other helpful thing, not that
- 12:15Speaker 4: you're gonna have to do this, but they said, once
- 12:18Speaker 4: you start, like, once you get it in your mind, Okay,
- 12:20Speaker 4: I'm gonna do this, do not abort mission.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Just go for it because you have from.
- 12:25Speaker 4: That thought, you've got about twelve seconds that you have
- 12:28Speaker 4: to worry about right until the SHOT's over with.
- 12:31Speaker 1: So just get it over with.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, that's another good technique. And then all right,
- 12:38Speaker 3: and after this we'll go back to my neur own
- 12:40Speaker 3: business and you can disclose what you want to disclose
- 12:42Speaker 3: when you disclose it. But at some point a few
- 12:45Speaker 3: months down the line, little Joseph Jack Green will be
- 12:49Speaker 3: I'm the scene and new member of the family.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Joseph Jack Michael Squared Green.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Well, I guess that's it.
