- 0:45Speaker 5: merry morning, baby.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Left me without warning sometime in the.
- 0:50Speaker 6: Night.
- 0:50Speaker 5: So I'm flying down.
- 0:51Speaker 1: To Houston with more getting to hear the nature of
- 0:53Speaker 1: my flight. I'm thinking about just listening to the rest
- 0:58Speaker 1: of this album in the time that we have.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Do you think he was flying Braniff?
- 1:05Speaker 5: What else?
- 1:05Speaker 1: Well, Trans-Texas was probably done by then. I don't think
- 1:09Speaker 1: they went to Lake Tahoe. He wouldn't fly in private then,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I promise you that.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I'm just saying.
- 1:16Speaker 5: It was close. That was 78.
- 1:18Speaker 4: That was 78. Yeah, but I'm saying the song was
- 1:20Speaker 4: out before 78.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, sure it was. He wrote that quite a
- 1:23Speaker 5: while ago.
- 1:24Speaker 4: I'm just saying, do you think he was flying Braniff
- 1:26Speaker 4: when he?
- 1:27Speaker 5: Well, there was no, I don't believe there was a
- 1:28Speaker 5: Southwest airline yet.
- 1:29Speaker 7: No, no.
- 1:30Speaker 5: So it was probably Braniff.
- 1:31Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:32Speaker 5: Could have been. Had those bright blue and.
- 1:37Speaker 4: My uncle worked for Braniff.
- 1:38Speaker 5: No way. Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 4: He worked for Braniff and Corpus Christi. I got a story.
- 1:42Speaker 9: Nice.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:43Speaker 4: It's a guy that late one night, my uncle was
- 1:47Speaker 4: working the late shift.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 4: And guy showed up at the counter and he had
- 1:54Speaker 4: to buy the last seat on a plane that was
- 1:57Speaker 4: leaving Corpus. Had to fly to Dallas to get somewhere
- 2:01Speaker 4: else for a family emergency.
- 2:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 4: And, you know, buying the ticket late there, it was
- 2:06Speaker 4: like $ 150. Yeah. He paid with 150 silver Liberty coins,
- 2:15Speaker 4: none of them after 1920.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Holy moly.
- 2:20Speaker 4: So everybody that worked there got cash. And got coins
- 2:26Speaker 4: out of the stack of, well, it might have been 250,
- 2:28Speaker 4: whatever it was. Yeah, yeah. They divided them equally between
- 2:32Speaker 4: the employees that wanted them.
- 2:34Speaker 5: How much were they worth?
- 2:35Speaker 4: They were worth, at that time, like.
- 2:37Speaker 1: $ 25 apiece. Okay.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Because, you know.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Nice tips back then.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Yes. That's awesome. But they split them up.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Good gosh.
- 2:46Speaker 4: And I had a stack of like 20 of them.
- 2:49Speaker 5: That's pretty cool.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Hey, sometimes you got to pay to get where you're going.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 5: And that's all you got.
- 2:55Speaker 4: That's all he had.
- 2:58Speaker 5: The Georgia attorney general. Yes.
- 3:02Speaker 1: In a letter to Greg Sankey today. Oh, his name
- 3:06Speaker 1: is Chris Carr.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Wrote that his office is prepared. His office.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And I don't know what the attorney general of Georgia's
- 3:15Speaker 1: office can do. To use all legal means necessary to
- 3:20Speaker 1: protect the University of Georgia.
- 3:23Speaker 5: I didn't know University of Georgia needed protection.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Student athletes and the integrity of college athletics.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Wait, you haven't said what this is about, Chip.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Wait, wait. I'm getting there.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And by God, if this guy can protect the integrity
- 3:43Speaker 1: of college athletics, I vote for him. I think he
- 3:47Speaker 1: is an amazing person if he's able to protect the
- 3:50Speaker 1: integrity of college athletics. Continuing, the letter to Sankey. College
- 3:57Speaker 1: athletics are for college athletes only. Oh! And we are
- 4:05Speaker 1: grateful the SEC has taken swift action to maintain that standard.
- 4:10Speaker 5: However.
- 4:12Speaker 1: The rules cannot be ignored or twisted to benefit one coach,
- 4:19Speaker 1: one institution, or one program, and we refuse to stand
- 4:24Speaker 1: by while that happens.
- 4:31Speaker 4: What is this about? The hearing tomorrow. Oh, but who
- 4:35Speaker 4: called for this?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Carr says of the Louisiana State Court rulings... The substance
- 4:41Speaker 1: and scope of those orders obviously raise serious legal concerns. However,
- 4:47Speaker 1: the more immediate concern is that after the temporary orders
- 4:52Speaker 1: took effect, one of the SEC's member institutions, and by golly,
- 4:58Speaker 1: he named them, Louisiana State University, indicated its plans to
- 5:04Speaker 1: ignore the conference policy by opting to roster one or
- 5:09Speaker 1: more pro athletes this season. That's a new verb, by
- 5:13Speaker 1: the way, to roster an athlete. It is no coincidence
- 5:17Speaker 1: that the very institution set to potentially use this temporary
- 5:23Speaker 1: order to flout the SEC rule is in the trial
- 5:27Speaker 1: court's own backyard. He encouraged the SEC to, quote, take
- 5:35Speaker 1: all measures available to address this conduct up to and
- 5:40Speaker 1: including suspension and or removing LSU from the conference and
- 5:48Speaker 1: bringing in Texas State. No, he didn't add that part.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Texas Tech?
- 5:53Speaker 5: I added that part.
- 5:54Speaker 4: The Texas Tech part?
- 5:55Speaker 5: Oh, no, he didn't want Texas Tech in there.
- 5:57Speaker 4: He wants Texas State.
- 5:58Speaker 5: He wants Texas State in there.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Why don't we get Rice? Rice would be even better.
- 6:01Speaker 4: That would be the Harvard of the South.
- 6:03Speaker 5: That would be even better.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Kiffin, during today's teleconference, and I didn't get the chance
- 6:10Speaker 1: to listen. noted the lawsuit involves, quote, a lot of
- 6:15Speaker 1: athletes from a lot of different sports in a lot
- 6:18Speaker 1: of different states.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Did Alder come into a Louisiana school?
- 6:22Speaker 5: Apparently.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I heard G today on Louie's show say there's a
- 6:26Speaker 1: professional women's.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Soccer player at LSU playing soccer.
- 6:30Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:31Speaker 5: And nobody said anything about that.
- 6:33Speaker 4: It was not included in the sports that the SEC
- 6:37Speaker 4: talked about last week.
- 6:39Speaker 1: So any pro soccer, any women's pro soccer player can
- 6:42Speaker 1: play college sports now?
- 6:44Speaker 4: I don't know why a men's pro soccer player can't play.
- 6:48Speaker 4: It could be a kicker.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Ooh, nice.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Now you got something. And his last name's Dicker?
- 6:57Speaker 1: You're saying if the new kicker here don't work out,
- 7:00Speaker 1: Elko can go get him a pro soccer player.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Kathy Ireland can kick.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Well, I'd like to have Kathy Ireland here. I'd go
- 7:12Speaker 5: watch her.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Sinbad can't catch, but Kathy Ireland can kick.
- 7:14Speaker 5: I'd go watch her kick. Okay.
- 7:17Speaker 11: So.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Is he wrong?
- 7:21Speaker 5: Do you have a topic?
- 7:22Speaker 4: I'm just saying, is he wrong?
- 7:24Speaker 5: Is the attorney general wrong?
- 7:27Speaker 4: Does Georgia stand to have problems because LSU has professional
- 7:31Speaker 4: players playing football?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Here's what I would say. We're talking about a handful
- 7:40Speaker 1: of players. So will Georgia be affected by LSU's two
- 7:47Speaker 1: players right now?
- 7:48Speaker 5: Yeah. Two players we're talking about, right? Nah, Georgia's not
- 7:51Speaker 5: going to be affected by it. They're not.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I agree
- 7:58Speaker 1: with LSU. I think they should shut all of this
- 8:01Speaker 1: crap down. I don't know if they can. I don't
- 8:03Speaker 1: understand all the legalese. I don't know if it can happen, okay?
- 8:08Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 8:09Speaker 1: So even if tomorrow they rule in LSU's favor, right,
- 8:15Speaker 1: and the attorney general goes, well, that's it. We're going
- 8:18Speaker 1: to kick Georgia out of this league. I mean, we're
- 8:22Speaker 1: kicking LSU out of this league. I'm instituting whatever needs
- 8:25Speaker 1: to be done right now to kick LSU out of
- 8:27Speaker 1: this league.
- 8:28Speaker 5: That ain't happening.
- 8:30Speaker 1: LSU's got lawyers. Georgia has lawyers. Sankey's got lawyers. Everybody's
- 8:35Speaker 1: got lawyers.
- 8:36Speaker 6: Yes.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So I think we're a long way from settling this issue.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I really do. I think we're a long way. I
- 8:47Speaker 1: don't understand all the legalese. I'm not a lawyer, and
- 8:50Speaker 1: I did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Generally speaking, if LSU plays a team that has a
- 9:00Speaker 4: former NFL football player on their team, which is what
- 9:04Speaker 4: their coach said, if I don't have them, they'll play
- 9:07Speaker 4: somewhere else. I'm going to have to play against them.
- 9:11Speaker 4: If they have one, then you can use yours.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Well, sure. And they're going to do it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I just said in the first hour, I had Drinkwitz
- 9:22Speaker 1: today on the conference call. He made national headlines Monday
- 9:26Speaker 1: calling all this a clown show. We don't know what's
- 9:29Speaker 1: going on in this sport. It is, in his words,
- 9:33Speaker 1: a clown show. What happens today? He gets a temporary
- 9:37Speaker 1: restraining order from a judge in Missouri for a kid
- 9:42Speaker 1: to play another year.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Sounds like you're a clown.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It's easy for the other coaches to come. And Sarkeesian yesterday,
- 9:55Speaker 1: or maybe it was today on the conference call, I
- 9:57Speaker 1: get all this stuff marched up, he called it morally wrong.
- 10:00Speaker 4: He's playing Cole Hudson, isn't he?
- 10:03Speaker 5: Morally wrong.
- 10:03Speaker 4: He's playing Cole Hudson, isn't he?
- 10:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Because my interior offensive line wasn't doing that well. Now,
- 10:10Speaker 4: Hudson never signed a contract, but he used up his
- 10:13Speaker 4: eligibility and he went to pro camps and stuff like
- 10:16Speaker 4: that and found out he wasn't good enough. So he's
- 10:19Speaker 4: going to come back. Now, am I being naive? I'm
- 10:26Speaker 4: going to look up and see right now what the
- 10:29Speaker 4: NFL practice squad pays you. Because I guarantee LSU is
- 10:36Speaker 4: playing this guy more than.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Oh, I don't think there's any question about that.
- 10:41Speaker 4: You can make $ 247, 000 being on a practice squad. That's
- 10:44Speaker 4: pretty good money.
- 10:45Speaker 5: It's not bad.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 10:46Speaker 5: They can't go out and get a job that's going
- 10:48Speaker 5: to pay.
- 10:48Speaker 1: $ 240, 000.
- 10:50Speaker 4: No. $ 1, 000. No.
- 10:55Speaker 12: $ 13, 750 a week.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Okay. That's good coin.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Okay. And you are working your way. Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Or perhaps you're getting an opportunity to make more money. Right.
- 11:06Speaker 4: An opportunity.
- 11:07Speaker 7: Yes.
- 11:08Speaker 4: So if LSU is going to offer me a million
- 11:12Speaker 4: and the NFL is giving me a chance to make $ 250, 000.
- 11:14Speaker 12: Yes.
- 11:20Speaker 4: I'm going to take the million.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Well, duh. Why wouldn't you?
- 11:25Speaker 4: Well, why wouldn't you? Because you've just quit the NFL.
- 11:29Speaker 4: The NFL has a process for you to be a
- 11:33Speaker 4: practice squad player, put in your time, and become.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So the NFL issued a statement last week that said,
- 11:43Speaker 1: Any of these guys can't come back this year.
- 11:46Speaker 5: I believe that's right, right?
- 11:47Speaker 4: Yes, that is correct.
- 11:48Speaker 5: This year.
- 11:49Speaker 6: Right.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Next year?
- 11:51Speaker 4: Well, these guys that did this, so if the lawsuit
- 11:56Speaker 4: goes against them.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Against the players.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Against the players. They can't go back to the NFL.
- 12:02Speaker 4: They can't go back to the NFL.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Not this year.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Oh, well, Chip, you don't think that blood-sucking lawyer that
- 12:07Speaker 4: just tried to get you the ability to play at
- 12:10Speaker 4: LSU isn't going to line up and... Yeah, but I
- 12:14Speaker 4: work for you trying to sue the NFL.
- 12:16Speaker 5: I'm going to tell you, college football has a lot
- 12:18Speaker 5: of money, right? A lot of money.
- 12:21Speaker 1: No, it's a drop in the bucket compared to the
- 12:24Speaker 1: lawyers that the NFL has.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Oh, you're kidding me.
- 12:27Speaker 5: No, I'm not kidding you. I'm not kidding you.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I would argue that this guy who's fighting on behalf
- 12:34Speaker 1: of these two players, he'll be out of his league
- 12:37Speaker 1: if he does that with the NFL. Because those guys
- 12:40Speaker 1: make a lot more per hour than he does.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Right. And does the NFL Players Association want to be
- 12:46Speaker 4: on their side?
- 12:49Speaker 5: I don't know that. Exactly. I don't know that.
- 12:52Speaker 4: It's just like minor league baseball, who's going to have
- 12:54Speaker 4: the lockout next year? Are they going to throw college
- 12:57Speaker 4: players under the bus with the new rules that have
- 12:59Speaker 4: been proposed for that? Are they going to not care
- 13:02Speaker 4: about minor league baseball? Because in all these negotiations, it's
- 13:05Speaker 4: always been about me.
- 13:07Speaker 1: We've got a lot of stuff here going on.
- 13:10Speaker 4: And if I'm at the top of the food chain,
- 13:12Speaker 4: why do I care about some rookie and what their
- 13:14Speaker 4: minimum salary is? If I'm already making $ 30 million a year,
- 13:17Speaker 4: I don't want to lose my money just so some
- 13:20Speaker 4: rookie can have, you know, instead of getting $ 750, 000 a
- 13:25Speaker 4: year on his first contract, to get a million.
- 13:27Speaker 1: So some of the coaches most critical of Kiffin, one
- 13:30Speaker 1: of the arguments they've used, I'm not saying it's wrong,
- 13:35Speaker 1: It's saying, what do I tell the players that have
- 13:38Speaker 1: gone through summer camp and sweated all summer long, you know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: to fight for their position?
- 13:45Speaker 4: What I said last week.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, when you bring a guy in right before the
- 13:50Speaker 1: game starts and take my spot.
- 13:53Speaker 7: Yes.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Because he can't go anywhere.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Can't go anywhere.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Portal's closed.
- 13:57Speaker 6: Right.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Can't leave.
- 13:58Speaker 7: Right.
- 13:58Speaker 4: I'm stuck.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 4: And even if I try, other than... Beating the guy
- 14:06Speaker 4: until he has a brain bleed. How am I going
- 14:08Speaker 4: to beat that guy out? Because you're bringing him in.
- 14:12Speaker 4: You're telling him you're starting in front of over tied in.
- 14:14Speaker 1: You bring in your friend Fields, whatever that kid's name is,
- 14:18Speaker 1: and say, hey, go kick this guy.
- 14:20Speaker 5: Would you?
- 14:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 5: It's game week. We got that.
- 14:25Speaker 8: Yes.
- 14:26Speaker 5: They are playing games this week. Yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Second week of high school, too.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Second week of high school. That was apparently a pretty
- 14:33Speaker 1: good game you did.
- 14:34Speaker 4: It was a pretty good game.
- 14:35Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 14:36Speaker 4: Yes. One-point underdog going into the game, one by one
- 14:40Speaker 4: point on a blocked extra point.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Yeah. Zeron Binford blocked an extra point that made it 20-14,
- 14:48Speaker 4: and then the Cougars went down and scored 21-20 to
- 14:51Speaker 4: get the W.
- 14:52Speaker 6: Nice.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Yes. Good game.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Very good game. It's great to see games that matter, Chip.
- 14:57Speaker 5: I went to the Bryant High game Friday night.
- 15:00Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 15:01Speaker 5: Yep.
- 15:01Speaker 4: You had a great first half, didn't you?
- 15:03Speaker 5: It was very entertaining. It really was. Very entertaining first half.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Did you stay any after half?
- 15:09Speaker 7: No.
- 15:10Speaker 4: So you saw a great game.
- 15:12Speaker 5: I did. Yeah. It was very entertaining.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Six o'clock.
- 15:21Speaker 1: The Missouri State Bears come in. I got to say,
- 15:26Speaker 1: Elko is not Lou Holtz. Lou was just the master
- 15:32Speaker 1: poor mouther of every.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Of all time.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Of all time.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And the way he did it with this panache. Elko
- 15:39Speaker 1: is like businesslike, right?
- 15:41Speaker 7: Yes.
- 15:42Speaker 5: He's like, hey, these guys are really good.
- 15:45Speaker 1: They've been to three bowl games in a row. They
- 15:47Speaker 1: have a quarterback, a receiver. They've got players. They're in
- 15:54Speaker 1: a program that's on the upswing. And I'm thinking, good gosh.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I wouldn't give Missouri State a lot of credit. And
- 16:01Speaker 1: then the spread comes out and it's 41 and a half.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And I'm going, well, the guy's making the spread. They
- 16:08Speaker 1: haven't watched film, apparently, that Coach Elko has watched. They
- 16:11Speaker 1: haven't been talking to Coach Elko.
- 16:13Speaker 13: No.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Or it wouldn't be 41 and a half.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Did Coach Elko say anything that wasn't the truth about
- 16:20Speaker 4: Missouri State?
- 16:21Speaker 1: He never.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Look, like I said, I like the way he approaches this, right?
- 16:27Speaker 4: It's not like.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It's never, oh, if my guys aren't prepared, we'll get beat.
- 16:35Speaker 1: He hasn't said that about any of these bye games, right,
- 16:38Speaker 1: that I can recall ever.
- 16:40Speaker 4: It's just.
- 16:43Speaker 5: By the time he gets through, it's like, good gosh,
- 16:47Speaker 5: I'm going to take the points. I had no idea.
- 16:48Speaker 5: I'm taking the points.
- 17:00Speaker 1: But any team named the Bears, except for Baylor, that
- 17:03Speaker 1: comes in, I'm all for that Bears. I love the Bears.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Do we still have an Xbox Bowl?
- 17:11Speaker 5: Oh, that I don't know.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Missouri State lost in the Xbox Bowl last year.
- 17:15Speaker 5: Look up if there's an Xbox Bowl stand. Yeah, Missouri
- 17:18Speaker 5: did lose in the Xbox Bowl.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Arkansas State.
- 17:20Speaker 5: Correct.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Didn't A & M play Arkansas State last year?
- 17:22Speaker 5: Was it last year?
- 17:25Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 17:26Speaker 5: I have all these.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I have so many facts and factoids and figures but
- 17:30Speaker 1: i don't have all the history of that down.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Hang on just a second okay i can look that
- 17:34Speaker 4: up while you're while he's looking up.
- 17:36Speaker 1: There i know they played one really bad uh directional
- 17:39Speaker 1: game last year it wasn't pretty at all it was
- 17:41Speaker 1: near the it was that november game right they don't
- 17:44Speaker 1: have to worry about this year because they play in
- 17:46Speaker 1: october against the citadel yeah uh yes sir So there.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Was an Xbox Bowl last year, but there won't be
- 17:52Speaker 4: one this year.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Where was it?
- 17:55Speaker 4: Ford Center, or at the Star in Frisco.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Oh, at the Star. Yeah. And they did away with it?
- 17:59Speaker 6: Yes.
- 18:00Speaker 4: They're not going to do it this year. Arkansas State
- 18:02Speaker 4: beat Missouri State.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Wow.
- 18:06Speaker 5: Can you get the attendance from that game last year?
- 18:10Speaker 1: I mean, the Star's not huge anyway, but it's a
- 18:13Speaker 1: great place for high school playoff games. Old Jarrah makes
- 18:17Speaker 1: some money there at the Star.
- 18:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:24Speaker 5: So what are you looking for on Saturday night with
- 18:27Speaker 5: this game?
- 18:27Speaker 4: This is really interesting, Chip. I don't know if you
- 18:32Speaker 4: know this, but student athletes now have five years to
- 18:37Speaker 4: play five seasons.
- 18:38Speaker 5: I was told that. Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 4: That means that there are no longer any redshirting.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Correct.
- 18:45Speaker 5: You don't have to worry about playing or not playing
- 18:48Speaker 5: a freshman. Right. You don't have to make that decision.
- 18:51Speaker 5: You can play them all they want.
- 18:52Speaker 4: You just play them all you want.
- 18:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 4: We saw an example of that last week with USC
- 18:59Speaker 4: and San Jose State.
- 19:01Speaker 6: Okay.
- 19:02Speaker 4: They were winning 36-3 at the end of the third
- 19:04Speaker 4: quarter or halftime, whatever it was.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Put their freshman in.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Put a bunch of freshmen in.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Gave up a lot of points.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Gave up a lot of points.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Does it look good this week or five weeks from
- 19:14Speaker 4: now or maybe even ten weeks from now for USC?
- 19:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 4: This is a whole different animal on how you go
- 19:23Speaker 4: out if you're a team that the perception is you
- 19:26Speaker 4: have to win by, what's the line, 47?
- 19:28Speaker 5: 41 and a half. 41 and a half. It could
- 19:31Speaker 5: have changed by now.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I want to see how A & M handles that.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Do they get to the point where they give some
- 19:43Speaker 4: other guys an opportunity? If you play that kind of game,
- 19:48Speaker 4: then the final score... to me really doesn't matter. How
- 19:52Speaker 4: are you playing when the primary starters come out of
- 19:56Speaker 4: the football game? And that's what I'm going to look
- 19:59Speaker 4: at as far as how efficient Texas A & M
- 20:02Speaker 4: is in this first game.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Okay, so prices have dropped another $ 3.
- 20:05Speaker 6: Okay.
- 20:06Speaker 5: You can get in for $ 39 on Saturday. All right.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And again, I know it's hot, but I've suggested if
- 20:16Speaker 1: you can afford to go to one A & M
- 20:19Speaker 1: game and not afford to play, you know, take your
- 20:21Speaker 1: kids and pay $ 150 for a ticket. I would suggest
- 20:26Speaker 1: this might be that game. I think the Citadel will
- 20:31Speaker 1: be a noon game, not 11 a.m., in October. So
- 20:36Speaker 1: that could also be a game.
- 20:38Speaker 4: But if A & M is having a season.
- 20:40Speaker 5: That's the thing. See, that's why I say this.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Yes. You're all about the listener, Chip.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I am all about the listener. Because if they're 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- 20:49Speaker 1: If they're 6-0 and ranked in the top five.
- 20:52Speaker 4: And who are they playing after that?
- 20:54Speaker 5: And they play at Alabama after that.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 1: People might be, there might be more demand than there
- 21:02Speaker 1: is right now for this opener.
- 21:04Speaker 4: And you play three road games and a bye. Around
- 21:12Speaker 4: the Citadel at Missouri.
- 21:14Speaker 5: That's true.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You play October 17th and you don't come back to
- 21:19Speaker 1: home until November 14th.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And you have a bye there. Halloween, no game.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And there is a bye.
- 21:23Speaker 5: That's correct.
- 21:23Speaker 4: No Halloween game.
- 21:24Speaker 5: No Halloween game. Yes. How about that? It's crazy. That's
- 21:27Speaker 5: crazy talk.
- 21:28Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is that game right there, because
- 21:31Speaker 4: of where it is on the schedule, if your season
- 21:34Speaker 4: is going well, might be a little bit harder to
- 21:36Speaker 4: get home. The reasonable ticket.
- 21:39Speaker 5: That's what I think.
- 21:40Speaker 4: As opposed to this.
- 21:41Speaker 5: That's what I think. Attendance at Xbox Bowl.
- 21:44Speaker 4: So the attendance last year at the Xbox Bowl was 7,782.
- 21:48Speaker 4: And the venue at the start holds 12,000 seats.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I could probably say.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I don't know how you can make a living with
- 21:56Speaker 1: a bowl game with even a sold out, you know, 12,000 seats.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I would think that they had five high school games
- 22:03Speaker 4: that drew better than that game at the.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Start last year. Oh, easily. But I will say this.
- 22:08Speaker 1: They're not worried about ticket sales for these kinds of
- 22:12Speaker 1: bowl games because they're giving money from ESPN. Jerry's getting money?
- 22:19Speaker 5: Well, that's the other problem.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Jerry probably took such a big cut, they can't.
- 22:25Speaker 5: Afford to have another bowl game there. And you know
- 22:27Speaker 5: parking was $ 50. Yes. It was more than the seats.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I mean, you can go to the game cheap. You
- 22:34Speaker 1: just have to pay to park. And Jarrah gets all
- 22:37Speaker 1: of that. So, 41,000 student seats sold.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Great.
- 22:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Outstanding.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Yeah. That's a lot.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Yes. I mean, I think that, you know, There's every
- 22:57Speaker 4: reason to have that excitement level. I mean, you're coming
- 23:02Speaker 4: off making the playoffs. You're a top 10 team. Did
- 23:09Speaker 4: you talk about the odds for the Heisman? New odds?
- 23:15Speaker 5: New odds?
- 23:16Speaker 4: From where? From ESPN?
- 23:17Speaker 5: Haven't seen those.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Okay, they are from... You.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Understand, I don't... This is an ESPN story, but that's
- 23:24Speaker 1: not their odds.
- 23:25Speaker 5: DraftKings. Okay, well, they're in bed with DraftKings.
- 23:29Speaker 7: Yes.
- 23:30Speaker 5: So I don't trust those odds is what I'm saying.
- 23:32Speaker 7: Okay, well.
- 23:33Speaker 5: What are they?
- 23:34Speaker 4: Well, CJ Carr 7-1, Arch Manning 15-2.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Those are the top two?
- 23:39Speaker 4: Those are the top two. 3, 4, 5, saying it's 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Marcel reads 14th, 30 to 1. Okay. Okay.
- 23:51Speaker 5: I am saving a couple of things for next week.
- 23:56Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is you have the quarterback. If
- 23:59Speaker 4: you're returning a quarterback, you're off a playoff team. Even
- 24:03Speaker 4: though you had more NFL players, losses than any team
- 24:08Speaker 4: in college football. I see the excitement and the reason
- 24:12Speaker 4: for the excitement is there and having 41,000 students do
- 24:17Speaker 4: ticket poll is exactly what you want to see. They're taking, they're,
- 24:21Speaker 4: it'll make.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It'll certainly, it'll certainly make, uh, uh, what should be a, a,
- 24:28Speaker 1: a uneventful game more exciting.
- 24:32Speaker 8: Yes.
- 24:32Speaker 4: I think there'll be into it.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Oh, no question. It's the opener. But the heat may
- 24:37Speaker 5: have an effect, too. But not on the students. They
- 24:40Speaker 5: don't care.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Well, Chip, it's also the beginning of football season, and
- 24:44Speaker 4: we get a tropical storm in the state. There's things
- 24:47Speaker 4: like that that normally happen.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but only the Aggie Dome can we have a
- 24:51Speaker 1: tropical storm and a burn ban, in fact, at the
- 24:54Speaker 1: same time.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 24:57Speaker 5: I mean, nowhere else would that happen.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Probably not.
- 25:01Speaker 5: Okay. We'll have stuff to talk about next Wednesday.
- 25:05Speaker 13: Yes.
- 25:06Speaker 4: And we'll also talk about me having the best picks
- 25:09Speaker 4: in the pick-em contest.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Well, we'll see about that.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Because I picked some upsets, Chip.
- 25:17Speaker 5: I did, too. I did, too. I was thinking, because
- 25:21Speaker 5: I have to do Cease's Prague Poll.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Did you do that last week, or is this the
- 25:24Speaker 4: first week?
- 25:25Speaker 5: No, that's the first week.
- 25:26Speaker 6: Okay.
- 25:27Speaker 1: And I've wanted to pick upsets, but I've been so
- 25:30Speaker 1: bad in the Prague Poll.
- 25:31Speaker 5: I'm not starting. I don't care.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I can win this one if everything works right, but
- 25:36Speaker 1: I can't win the Prague poll by giving away games.
- 25:39Speaker 5: I have to be.
- 25:42Speaker 4: What group is joining you this year?
- 25:44Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 25:45Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I had to make my picks late because Cease got
- 25:49Speaker 1: my email wrong.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Email?
- 25:52Speaker 1: I hurriedly had to make them this afternoon.
- 25:54Speaker 4: And you know what? If you have a great first week.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:59Speaker 4: You can't pick before the same time period every week.
- 26:03Speaker 4: You have to act like you had an email problem.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:06Speaker 5: And you hurriedly get your picks up. And get them in.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Yes. Now, if you're terrible, you better go study it.
- 26:13Speaker 5: I don't know. It just never works that way.
- 26:15Speaker 11: All right.
- 26:16Speaker 5: I want to send you to Destination Brian because.

- 26:50Speaker 5: That's wrong.
- 26:51Speaker 1: The Queen Theater is air-conditioned. The Palace Theater is not.
- 26:53Speaker 1: But they'll have fans starting, I promise you. And if

- 29:55Speaker 1: comes back.
- 29:56Speaker 5: I'm rolling my sweet babies on.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Well, now I am rolling my sweet babies on.
- 30:01Speaker 5: I'm rolling my sweet babies on.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna lay around the shack till the mail train
- 30:07Speaker 1: comes back.
- 30:07Speaker 4: I'm rolling my sweet babies on.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Mallory is brought to us by Southwest Card World, we've
- 30:25Speaker 1: had another Parton family member die. Dolly's older brother, Coy
- 30:33Speaker 1: Denver Parton, died actually before Dolly did on July 23rd.
- 30:42Speaker 5: And we're just hearing about it. You know, there were
- 30:46Speaker 5: 12 children.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And a 2025 article referred to Denver as perhaps the
- 30:56Speaker 1: most private in the close-knit family, which is interesting. The
- 31:03Speaker 1: Tennessee native had been a crane operator, homestead farmer, and
- 31:07Speaker 1: ardent hunter.
- 31:09Speaker 5: According to his obituary.
- 31:11Speaker 1: He has survived by two daughters, a grandson, a brother,
- 31:18Speaker 1: and seven sisters.
- 31:21Speaker 5: So that's eight.
- 31:26Speaker 10: There was a lot of them.
- 31:27Speaker 1: There were 12 of them. Randy Parton died apparently in 2021.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Two, three. And how many did I say? There are
- 31:41Speaker 5: eight remaining. Okay.
- 31:44Speaker 10: I'm not trying to laugh, but just the math of
- 31:46Speaker 10: it all.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. I mean, I'm trying to.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I honestly thought that they were the first two.
- 31:54Speaker 5: No, I thought they were the first two to die.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I thought 10 of the 12 were remaining, but that's
- 31:59Speaker 1: not true.
- 32:00Speaker 12: Wow.
- 32:03Speaker 4: You know.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Let's see.
- 32:06Speaker 10: One step could be overshadowed by Dolly Parton's.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Seven sisters, eight. I don't know how many of them
- 32:13Speaker 1: are left. I'll be honest with you.
- 32:16Speaker 6: I do know there was at least one sister because
- 32:18Speaker 6: she has spoken out after Dolly's passing.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Yeah. I know there's one. Well, I know Stella, you know,
- 32:24Speaker 5: is in the business. And she spoke out.
- 32:26Speaker 6: Okay.
- 32:26Speaker 5: Well, maybe that's who I'm referring to. Okay.
- 32:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 8: Okay.
- 32:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Stella sang some. So I know she's still around. So
- 32:40Speaker 1: let's see. Meanwhile, this is crazy. Dolly's star on the
- 32:48Speaker 1: Hollywood Walk of Fame is going to have to be
- 32:51Speaker 1: replaced after being vandalized. The star was already scheduled to
- 32:58Speaker 1: be replaced because of cracks. But Anna Martinez, Hollywood Chamber
- 33:04Speaker 1: of Commerce Senior Vice President of Media, told KABC.
- 33:09Speaker 5: In Los Angeles....
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yesterday that the damage occurred after tributes left by fans
- 33:15Speaker 1: was cleared from the star ahead of the planned work.
- 33:21Speaker 1: She said a fan reported August 31st someone had scratched
- 33:25Speaker 1: the star and stolen flowers.
- 33:29Speaker 5: That's pretty low.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Obviously, many fans left flowers and other memorabilia on that
- 33:38Speaker 1: star on the Walk of Fame.
- 33:40Speaker 5: So.
- 33:41Speaker 1: It was dedicated in 1984. So it's been there a while.
- 33:50Speaker 1: And it's probably time to be replaced, actually. But still,
- 33:55Speaker 1: come on. Stealing the flowers?
- 33:58Speaker 10: I mean, it's in the nicest way.
- 34:00Speaker 6: And this is no disrespect if you are one of
- 34:02Speaker 6: these people. But aren't there kind of a bunch of questionable.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Druggy people? Oh, yes. It's not a good area.
- 34:09Speaker 1: It's impossible.
- 34:10Speaker 5: It is not a good area of town.
- 34:12Speaker 6: It's possible the person wasn't in.
- 34:16Speaker 5: The right mind when all that happened.
- 34:18Speaker 1: No, it's very possible. It's not the best area of town.
- 34:21Speaker 1: There's no doubt about that. Okay, that's why we're here.
- 34:26Speaker 5: What do you got?
- 34:27Speaker 10: Moral of the story. Don't mess with Dolly, guys.
- 34:30Speaker 5: Do not mess with Dolly. They will hunt you down.
- 34:35Speaker 10: It's a bold move. I'm not going to lie.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Yeah. Of course, if it happened at 3 or 4 a.m.
- 34:39Speaker 5: She seems pretty much.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Loved by everyone.
- 34:42Speaker 7: Yes.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:43Speaker 10: She was universally loved. Actually, I don't know if I've
- 34:45Speaker 10: heard one bad thing about.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Anyone not liking Dolly. You know, you really haven't.
- 34:52Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 34:53Speaker 6: Let's move on to someone who people love to hate.
- 34:55Speaker 5: Okay.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Yeah. Let's do that.
- 34:56Speaker 6: No, no.
- 34:57Speaker 5: Let's do that.
- 34:58Speaker 6: Actually, I don't know if people love to hate this person,
- 35:00Speaker 6: but definitely don't love to hear about the relationship.
- 35:03Speaker 10: But we're going to talk about it anyways, because that's
- 35:05Speaker 10: what we're here for.
- 35:06Speaker 6: Two months after exchanging rings, Travis Kelsey is finally opening up.
- 35:10Speaker 10: About marrying Taylor Swift.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Oh, good.
- 35:12Speaker 6: And no, he isn't talking about when the photos will
- 35:15Speaker 6: be released, if even ever.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Yeah, we haven't seen any of those.
- 35:18Speaker 7: He didn't.
- 35:19Speaker 10: No, we haven't.
- 35:20Speaker 6: He flashed his nuptial hardware while reflecting on the couple's
- 35:23Speaker 6: July 3rd wedding at Madison Square Garden during the... Remember
- 35:26Speaker 6: when we thought that was such a joke? Like, there
- 35:28Speaker 6: was no way.
- 35:29Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. They were getting married at Madison Square Garden.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 35:32Speaker 5: And boy, did they prove us wrong. Boy, we're wrong.
- 35:36Speaker 10: Yeah. At this point, we're, what, over a month out?
- 35:39Speaker 6: Yes.
- 35:39Speaker 5: It's just so much fun.
- 35:41Speaker 10: First of all... Yeah, that will end.
- 35:42Speaker 5: No, I'm just kidding. Yeah, no kidding. I'm joking.
- 35:45Speaker 10: That will change. First of all, the night was a
- 35:49Speaker 10: night out.
- 35:50Speaker 6: It was insane. It was a night we will never forget.
- 35:53Speaker 6: They did get married, as we said, in Madison Square
- 35:55Speaker 6: Garden in New York, in front of family, friends, and
- 35:57Speaker 6: a star-studded guest list. My goodness, was that guest list crazy.
- 36:01Speaker 6: The couple's wedding ceremony looked... Our looks were.
- 36:04Speaker 10: Designed by Christian Dior.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Of course.
- 36:06Speaker 6: Creative director Jonathan Anderson and their brother served in the
- 36:09Speaker 6: weddings party. Austin Swift as Swift's main man of honor.
- 36:13Speaker 5: I didn't know you had a man of honor.
- 36:15Speaker 6: Travis's best man. Could you imagine if they did the,
- 36:18Speaker 6: you know, walking down and it's just Jason Kelsey and
- 36:21Speaker 6: Taylor Swift's brother.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Walking together.
- 36:24Speaker 10: It was just so magical, man.
- 36:26Speaker 6: And I wish I could have lasted even longer than
- 36:29Speaker 6: he did. It felt like it just happened in a
- 36:30Speaker 6: blink of an eye. Jason did joke that the party
- 36:33Speaker 6: ended because they kicked us out. Well, once the drink
- 36:37Speaker 6: stopped being served, everyone kind of just starts to, you know,
- 36:40Speaker 6: mosey out, Travis said. The groom also thanked the staff
- 36:44Speaker 6: at Madison Square Garden, saying that he and Swift wanted
- 36:47Speaker 6: the venue that could provide privacy while still allowing them
- 36:49Speaker 6: to bring together people from different parts of their lives.
- 36:53Speaker 10: We wanted to do somewhere where we could have a very,
- 36:55Speaker 10: I'm sorry, a very intimate.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 6: Because, again, Madison Square Garden.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:01Speaker 6: In a genuine setting without a lot of distractions, we
- 37:04Speaker 6: needed it to be a private feel, and MSG went
- 37:07Speaker 6: above and beyond.
- 37:08Speaker 10: To just do that. So, guys, if you have any wedding.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Plans, Madison Square Garden.
- 37:15Speaker 1: And I'm sure they'll provide every bit as much security
- 37:18Speaker 1: as they did for this one.
- 37:21Speaker 6: Well, and you know, I have more Travis healthy news.
- 37:24Speaker 6: If you wanted me to, I feel like he's the
- 37:26Speaker 6: new Taylor Swift.
- 37:27Speaker 1: We haven't heard from, you know, from the couple in
- 37:30Speaker 1: two months.
- 37:31Speaker 6: Well, it appears he has checked a 5.35 million lakefront
- 37:36Speaker 6: estate off his wishlist.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Oh, good.
- 37:38Speaker 6: He did purchase an estate along Lake Erie outside of Cleveland.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Like you do.
- 37:46Speaker 6: Why not? Property in Ohio dates back to 1895 and
- 37:51Speaker 6: includes an eight-bedroom, 21,140-square-foot home.
- 37:57Speaker 1: That's bigger than mine. I don't know about you, but
- 38:01Speaker 1: that's larger than my house.
- 38:03Speaker 6: No, shockingly, Chip, I don't live in a 20,000-square-foot house.
- 38:07Speaker 5: I know that's shocking to everyone here.
- 38:09Speaker 1: I thought I was paying you enough to do that,
- 38:11Speaker 1: but maybe not.
- 38:13Speaker 10: We'll talk about that later.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:14Speaker 10: No one needs to know the details.
- 38:17Speaker 6: But apparently it has eight full and three and a
- 38:20Speaker 6: half baths.
- 38:21Speaker 7: Okay.
- 38:21Speaker 10: Seven fireplaces.
- 38:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 38:22Speaker 6: Which, look, I'm not saying seven is excessive, but it
- 38:26Speaker 6: is the north.
- 38:26Speaker 10: It gets cold. I get it. And it's from the 1800s.
- 38:32Speaker 6: Five garage spaces and a heated in-ground pool.
- 38:35Speaker 5: Okay. Amazing. Which you can use about six weeks a
- 38:38Speaker 5: year up there.
- 38:40Speaker 10: Exciting.
- 38:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:42Speaker 6: The home was acquired through the Ohio LLC form days
- 38:45Speaker 6: before the sale, while tax records for the property list
- 38:48Speaker 6: Andre Eanes, I don't know, it's Kelsey's longtime business partner,
- 38:53Speaker 6: as a recipient of tax correspondence. Before the sale, the
- 38:57Speaker 6: estate underwent the legacy Cleveland North Coast described as a
- 39:03Speaker 6: year-long restoration.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Of course it did.
- 39:06Speaker 6: This thing has just been remodeled yes um the brokerage
- 39:09Speaker 6: said that the work preserved original features including carved walnut
- 39:13Speaker 6: walls leaded leaded glass and marble wall adding modern and
- 39:19Speaker 6: and i can't talk but you know what i mean
- 39:21Speaker 6: it's updated but it's still old it's got its characters
- 39:23Speaker 6: and its quirks.
- 39:24Speaker 5: I mean that's a big house yeah.
- 39:27Speaker 6: It's huge are you kidding me i'm surprised it only
- 39:29Speaker 6: took a year to remodel.
- 39:31Speaker 5: That i mean it's a big house look.
- 39:33Speaker 6: My parents house was built in the 80s and it's
- 39:35Speaker 6: got its own share of.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Problems i can't imagine my house was built in the
- 39:39Speaker 1: 80s it probably needs updated a little bit.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Get those pipes checked out guys you never.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Know I don't have that Taylor Swift money that Travis
- 39:47Speaker 1: married into.
- 39:49Speaker 10: Yeah, no, neither do I.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Funny how he waited to buy his dream house until
- 39:53Speaker 1: after he got hold of Taylor's bank account.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Yeah, why'd you have to wait, Travis? Yeah, just saying.
- 39:59Speaker 6: I don't understand. I think that's all the Kelsey news
- 40:03Speaker 6: I have, so we can move on.
- 40:05Speaker 5: Okay.
- 40:07Speaker 1: How about the announcer for Wheel of Fortune being suspended
- 40:12Speaker 1: by Sony Pictures?
- 40:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 5: Jim Thornton. OK. Longtime Wheel of Fortune announcer.
- 40:21Speaker 1: The studio says to TMZ, we have recently been made
- 40:27Speaker 1: aware of allegations concerning Jim Thornton. He has been suspended
- 40:30Speaker 1: from Wheel of Fortune. We are recasting while we conduct
- 40:33Speaker 1: a thorough investigation. No reason for the suspension. But TMZ
- 40:39Speaker 1: says the incident arose while Thornton was on a commercial
- 40:42Speaker 1: flight back in May. and a passenger complained to a
- 40:46Speaker 1: flight attendant about him. They say the pilot called ahead
- 40:51Speaker 1: to have law enforcement meet the plane at the gate.
- 40:56Speaker 1: We're told officers questioned Thornton, who was wearing a wheel
- 41:00Speaker 1: jacket at the time, and he was eventually released. Well,
- 41:04Speaker 1: now today, an attorney, his attorney, tells TMZ the announcer, quote,
- 41:10Speaker 1: did not engage in any illegal conduct, was not arrested,
- 41:15Speaker 1: has not been charged with any crime. When questioned about
- 41:19Speaker 1: the complaint made by a fellow passenger, law enforcement spoke
- 41:22Speaker 1: to him for five minutes or less, determined there was
- 41:26Speaker 1: no wrongdoing, and let him go free.
- 41:32Speaker 5: So it's kind of he said.
- 41:33Speaker 4: She said.
- 41:36Speaker 6: And so are they, did they just suspend him?
- 41:38Speaker 5: Well, yeah, they suspended him. To cover their butts? Well,
- 41:43Speaker 5: you know, that's a great question. I don't know.
- 41:46Speaker 1: But something, okay, something happened. If it's true that law
- 41:52Speaker 1: enforcement was called to meet the plane at the gate
- 41:56Speaker 1: and they pulled him off the plane to question him,
- 42:00Speaker 1: something happened. Now, it said a passenger complained. We've seen
- 42:06Speaker 1: these Karens on these flights before. So, you know, maybe
- 42:11Speaker 1: he had one too many. Maybe she had one too many.
- 42:15Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 42:17Speaker 6: I'm just picturing him being like, do you know who
- 42:21Speaker 6: I am?
- 42:21Speaker 5: I've got a Wheel of Fortune jacket on, dude.
- 42:23Speaker 10: I'm the voice of Wheel of Fortune.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Yeah. Don't you recognize my voice?
- 42:30Speaker 6: You're like, wait, just close your eyes and listen to.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Me talk, okay? Hey, do you have a jacket that
- 42:35Speaker 5: looks like this, buddy?
- 42:37Speaker 10: No, this takes years.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Years.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Okay.
- 42:41Speaker 10: This is an exclusive club.
- 42:43Speaker 5: This has happened again without my knowledge.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Oh, no, what?
- 42:47Speaker 5: Venice Film Festival started yesterday.
- 42:50Speaker 10: Skip, we got to work on your manager or whatever.
- 42:53Speaker 5: The 83rd Venice Film, every year we do this.
- 42:56Speaker 10: Every year, I know.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Guess who the hot couple was? George and Amal, photographed
- 43:05Speaker 1: pulling into Venice in a private wooden water taxi, like
- 43:10Speaker 1: you do, stood next to each other, he wearing a
- 43:17Speaker 1: black polo with white pants, she matching green silk set
- 43:24Speaker 1: with a top, shorts, and blazer, and paired their effortless
- 43:29Speaker 1: looks with dark Large sunglasses.
- 43:36Speaker 7: Wow.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Very subtle.
- 43:39Speaker 1: George is being honored with the Golden Lion for Lifetime
- 43:45Speaker 1: Achievement Award today in Venice.
- 43:48Speaker 5: I've had so many extraordinary moments.
- 43:51Speaker 1: In Venice, he said in a statement, because, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 1: he doesn't have time to talk to the paparazzi of
- 43:56Speaker 1: the media.
- 43:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 1: This festival is without question my favorite, and to be
- 44:02Speaker 1: given the Golden Lion is a tremendous honor. Clooney added,
- 44:09Speaker 1: it probably means I'm old, but I'll take it.
- 44:15Speaker 5: There. George is 65.
- 44:19Speaker 8: Okay.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Drawing his Social Security, or close to that time. Amal
- 44:25Speaker 1: is 48.
- 44:28Speaker 10: She's pretty brilliant, though.
- 44:29Speaker 5: Apparently so.
- 44:32Speaker 10: Good on you, George, I guess.
- 44:33Speaker 5: Yeah, good for you, George. But next time, hey.
- 44:38Speaker 10: Send an invite to shit.
- 44:38Speaker 5: At least call. Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 10: Yeah. Come on.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Sucks.
- 44:44Speaker 10: Well, this will make you feel better. Okay.
- 44:47Speaker 6: The full cast was announced for Dancing with the Stars.
- 44:51Speaker 5: Oh, your favorite show.
- 44:53Speaker 10: I'm going to be real. I don't know a lot
- 44:55Speaker 10: of these people.
- 44:57Speaker 5: Really?
- 44:58Speaker 6: Usually i have an idea okay i'm there's some i'm
- 45:02Speaker 6: a little perplexed by okay that's okay um there are
- 45:08Speaker 6: some people like they're from the band hansen which if
- 45:11Speaker 6: you don't know who that was it was a popular
- 45:13Speaker 6: brother group in like the late.
- 45:14Speaker 10: 90s i remember them yeah okay so taylor.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Usually usually these dancers are historically c and d list
- 45:22Speaker 1: celebrities right.
- 45:27Speaker 5: Just saying right they can't be hired anywhere.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Else they go on Dancing with the Stars what can
- 45:35Speaker 1: we do now Dancing with the Stars oh my gosh
- 45:41Speaker 1: did you see who is part of the list I
- 45:44Speaker 1: have got to watch this.
- 45:46Speaker 10: Now okay tell me who are you excited.
- 45:49Speaker 1: About Jada Jada's on the list yeah Oh my googly moogly.
- 45:59Speaker 6: Wait, did we, did we just, are you going to
- 46:01Speaker 6: watch Dancing.
- 46:01Speaker 5: With the Stars now?
- 46:02Speaker 4: Yes, absolutely.
- 46:04Speaker 10: At least until, at least until, you know.
- 46:06Speaker 5: Until Giada gets booted off.
- 46:10Speaker 10: But there is also, which this doesn't seem very fair.
- 46:14Speaker 5: I bet this Giada can dance. I bet she can dance.
- 46:18Speaker 10: You know what? I will say, she does say, she's coming,
- 46:22Speaker 10: she's serious about that. Trophy. She's not messing around.
- 46:26Speaker 5: You go, girl.
- 46:29Speaker 6: Jenna, I don't know her last name, but she was
- 46:31Speaker 6: married to Channing Tatum. She's actually a professional dancer or
- 46:34Speaker 6: was a backup dancer, so that seems a little not
- 46:37Speaker 6: fair that she's a part of.
- 46:38Speaker 10: The competition, but she is. We also have a Bachelor person.
- 46:41Speaker 6: We have Tyler Cameron, which was from, or I guess
- 46:45Speaker 6: he was Bachelorette from some seasons ago.
- 46:48Speaker 5: Okay, you say so.
- 46:50Speaker 10: There's a social media star.
- 46:52Speaker 5: On cast hoes. Do we need more of those?
- 46:54Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
- 46:57Speaker 5: Jimmy, go ahead. Guillermo's there. Guillermo's on the list. Yes,
- 47:00Speaker 5: he is.
- 47:01Speaker 4: He is.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Guillermo won't last two weeks.
- 47:05Speaker 6: No, and honestly, I think his partner's actually pregnant, so
- 47:08Speaker 6: that was probably planned.
- 47:09Speaker 5: Not going to last two weeks.
- 47:10Speaker 8: Okay.
- 47:12Speaker 10: Watch it make it far. You know, you will be surprised.
- 47:15Speaker 6: Sometimes it's just a popularity contest.
- 47:17Speaker 5: It's a fun time. I guess.
- 47:19Speaker 10: People might keep them around. So, guys, wow.
- 47:22Speaker 6: Dancing with the Stars finally made Chip a watcher.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Maybe. We'll see. I'm all in on Jada. Do I
- 47:28Speaker 5: get to vote? Can I call in and vote?
- 47:31Speaker 2: Sure.
- 47:31Speaker 5: I don't know how, but you can. I'm calling in
- 47:34Speaker 5: tonight and voting.
- 47:35Speaker 6: Well, I think it's a little too early, but you
- 47:37Speaker 6: have to wait for the show to start.
- 47:39Speaker 1: In this country, you can vote. As often as you
- 47:42Speaker 1: want to. And I'm going to vote.
- 47:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 47:46Speaker 11: Okay.
- 47:47Speaker 10: Go for it.
- 47:48Speaker 5: So you've heard about Tiger. He changed his DUI plea.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Oh.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Showed up with the president's former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump. Yeah.
- 48:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:06Speaker 1: The pair walked side by side into the courtroom. He
- 48:09Speaker 1: changed his plea from not guilty to no contest. So
- 48:14Speaker 1: they plead down to lesser charges. But the big one
- 48:19Speaker 1: is he'll have his license suspended for five years.
- 48:25Speaker 5: Okay. This is all due to a crash near his Jupiter.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Island home March 27th in which his Land Rover rolled over.
- 48:36Speaker 1: while he hit a pressure-cleaning trailer truck in the neighborhood,
- 48:42Speaker 1: was arrested for DUI, went to rehab in Switzerland, returned
- 48:50Speaker 1: briefly to support Trump amid her breast cancer treatment, which
- 48:57Speaker 1: I didn't know about.
- 49:00Speaker 5: The judge did tell him.
- 49:01Speaker 10: Because she's not under enough.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Yes, the judge did tell him. You drive one time
- 49:09Speaker 1: in this next five years, you're going to jail. But look,
- 49:14Speaker 1: I think that why don't you have a chauffeur anyway?
- 49:19Speaker 5: Why do these?
- 49:20Speaker 1: Celebrities drive themselves and get DUIs?
- 49:23Speaker 5: I don't get it.
- 49:26Speaker 10: I know he has a lot of money.
- 49:28Speaker 5: He has a lot of money.
- 49:31Speaker 6: And this is the second time he's done something like this.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Well, the first one, he came dang close to killing himself.
- 49:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 5: I mean, very, very close.
- 49:43Speaker 10: He's lucky that he didn't hurt himself again.
- 49:45Speaker 5: Or someone else.
- 49:46Speaker 10: Or really hurt himself.
- 49:47Speaker 5: Or more importantly, someone else. More importantly, somewhere else. Someone else.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:53Speaker 10: So don't get behind the wheel.
- 49:56Speaker 6: And I don't know why they don't just take his
- 49:57Speaker 6: license away and be like, pay.
- 49:59Speaker 10: For a driver.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Probably should have done that after the crash. I don't
- 50:03Speaker 1: know what it takes, but he has good lawyers. So
- 50:05Speaker 1: that's probably why we're just getting to that. And this
- 50:09Speaker 1: was a negotiated plea agreement, right? And if I'm Tiger,
- 50:17Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, take my license. You know, I'll get
- 50:19Speaker 1: a driver and a limo, right? I mean, that, which
- 50:22Speaker 1: he should, like we said, he should have done anyway.
- 50:25Speaker 10: He needs an ego check too, but I digress.
- 50:28Speaker 5: Let's do some birthdays, can we?
- 50:31Speaker 10: Sure, we can try.
- 50:33Speaker 5: Ooh, Rosalind.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Ashford of Martha and the Vandellas, 83 today. Terry Bradshaw, sportscaster,
- 50:44Speaker 1: 78 today.
- 50:47Speaker 10: Oh, Keanu Reeves. I love Keanu. He is 62. Oh,
- 50:55Speaker 10: Salma Hayek, too.
- 50:57Speaker 5: Oh, she can act. She can act.
- 50:59Speaker 4: You go, girl.
- 51:00Speaker 10: She's 60 today. Happy 60, the big 6-0.
- 51:03Speaker 5: Mark Harmon is 75 today.
- 51:06Speaker 6: I'm laughing because it's also Kat Williams' birthday.
- 51:12Speaker 5: No way. Man, that guy. He'll probably get him another tat.
- 51:18Speaker 10: He's 53 today.
- 51:21Speaker 5: Limp Bizkit's 49. No, no, I'm sorry.
- 51:24Speaker 1: The bassist for Limp Bizkit is 49.
- 51:29Speaker 5: So close. I was close.
- 51:32Speaker 6: Yeah. I don't really know anyone else.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Let's go to tomorrow since we're not here. A friend
- 51:40Speaker 1: of the show, Al Jardine of the Beach Boys turns
- 51:44Speaker 1: 84 tomorrow.
- 51:47Speaker 10: Happy birthday.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Don Brewer of Grand Funk Railroad turns 78 tomorrow.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Oh, here's one. Charlie Sheen. He's been quiet lately, hadn't he?
- 52:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:08Speaker 5: I mean, we haven't heard a lot from Charlie Sheen.
- 52:11Speaker 10: Yeah, he hasn't had a crazy.
