- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be actually probably two parter because we have a lot to talk about.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: These are my favorite types of episodes when real life happens and we can bring it to the pod.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: I know, and it's real life being inspiration for your work is the best thing and it's funny because the real in spoke came from one of the days we were, oh no, our last day in Mexico City.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then today this morning we went to a coffee shop and got some like breakfast sandwiches and stuff like that and it reminded me or no, it was like a confirmation that we definitely need to talk about this.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: It was perfect.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was a good reminder, because I kind of forgot about this episode.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: And kissy goes, sorry, it was going to sink, kissy also forgot about what listen, what podcast you're listening to, this is the what's the juice podcast.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back, if you are returning listener.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Have we introduced ourselves that these last few episodes?
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we just kind of like got right into it.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: My name is Ali Azayata.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: And this is your first time.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Yoni Kodo, your favorite host on the show.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely haven't said that in a while.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, definitely not there's so many things.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't said a shout out to your dog in a while.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're listening to this when you're on a walk, on a walk with your dog, like what's up?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: Where are the dog photos?
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I know we used to get so many of those when we first when I first started saying it.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it didn't have like, we made a whole t-shirt line for a merch about it.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: What happened?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think people aren't really listening.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: They're either don't have dogs anymore.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm saying I just haven't said it, you know, like the more you bring it up on a podcast the more people want to show But anyway, we are back in New York now.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not the Mexico was amazing Yeah, if you want if you haven't listened to the episode about any of our either the to-loom episode or the Mexico City one they are posted their live before these episodes So feel free to listen.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: We got into it, especially our last episode was like an hour
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: was so good.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: He was probably like one of my favorite episodes we've done and I know I say that like a lot, I guess we do.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: All of our episodes are our favorite episodes.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: But today my be my favorite episode.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be Yori's not sure yet but I'm going to get into it and we're going to get into it.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Can I just just be really honest just a little quick because I can't just get it out of my head.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay just I had today was one of
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: with some internet.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: With their internet.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't get on a podcast right now and talk about all these, you know, different things everybody's talking about right now without addressing it just for a quick one minute, 60 seconds.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be six.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I posted a, a, a, a, uh, carousel on Instagram.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: My carousel on Instagram about just like some photos that we took in Mexico City, right?
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think about it too much.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: She was a video of me biking.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: I just selected a few photos and I just posted them, right?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: A poster on Instagram.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's all good.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: What was the caption?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: The caption was, I loved this city, but I said that in Spanish.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: So Nothing but now anything.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: You said you love this city and you put the Mexican flag and then did you did you tag like the location as Mexico City?
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay, so then I And any time I post anything it goes to threats, right?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Right it goes straight there and I don't even check it
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, every once in a while going there would be like, oh, what's we know what's there and then I see just all the photos there Sometimes I get comments whatever it's nothing crazy.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even I never post anything on threads directly
- 4:44[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: So on this one, I was just like, you know, I got a notification that there's some there's some motion on threats going on.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, Oh, okay.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I click on it.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And there's so many comments about people from from Mexico City, who are so mad in angry.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, basically telling me to go back home.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Telling me to leave, telling me to just a bunch of just like, and it got worse, it's happening right now.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now there's like, by tomorrow, there'll be over 500 comments.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and listen, we've been to multiple places in Mexico City.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't just stay in, in, in, in, in, it happened.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: From an order and, and that's exactly right.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it happened that the photos that you posted were mostly, if not all from either Roman or the, or condessa.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was just like these are nice for us, but I have multiple that I can't post everything in all And also this one just happened to reach a specific audience So everybody's basically like somebody even, you know Call you the N word
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: like, like, people are being really, uh, a lot of people that are reasonable.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: People definitely drop the inward in their randomly, like, go back to New York and work, and I'm just like, so what I did, and if you want to go look at it, you can go ahead and look at it.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: People are mad because, because one is just like being there, and then assuming that we only stayed in those neighborhoods, and we didn't really believe.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: and making a lot of assumptions and making a scene as if we making a scene as if Yoni like moved there or lives there, which they don't even know that he's being gone.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's yeah, I've been going.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I...
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there was some, like, there was one comment that said something like this city doesn't love you.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: We don't want you here.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Leave whatever, but then there was also some nice comments saying, like, yo, chill, this guy just said that he just visited because I think I replied to someone else.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I responded to a lot of the comments.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: And usually I don't, but this is like, it doesn't hurt me.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't hurt my feelings because these people they just don't know that I really, I just visited it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: And left, right?
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: They also don't know that we went to other places.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I also didn't explain myself.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: I did say, guys, I went to a more different place.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kind of responding with like hard emojis, have a good day, LOL.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm not about to explain myself.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know what I did.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then someone was like, oh, so why don't you post photos of the other places you went to supposedly, right?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I told that I was just like, because I live my life how I want.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: And also I have more photos that I want to post.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is my first post.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't even explain myself like that.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just said, because I just do what I want to do.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of people are also nice, but mostly negative comments.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: There were a lot of people that were like kind of going, like not fighting, but like replying to those sort of negative comments.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: And we understand what's happening with people who, you know, move to Mexico City and live there, make it more expensive.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: They don't pay the taxes there, but they make US dollars.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: We understand that that's happening and it makes life more expensive for the locals, I understand that.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it was also a lot of people saying like, how about, you know, you go to Tepito or you go to like these other neighborhoods and see if you like Mexico then.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, or or something they would just say just go there and see how see the real culture wouldn't like that, but I also think
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if somebody were to travel to, let's say New York, right?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not even from New York, but it's like the place that I live now.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say, there's a visitor that comes to New York.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I, it's as if I would get mad at them for not going in non-central and touristy areas.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, it's just like, what am I going to say?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you know, some people come to New York, they don't even get to Brooklyn.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they think Brooklyn is scary.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: They think Brooklyn is like, you know, whatever.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I just say we were from here.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: And someone is just posting the ram vacation.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: And they wanted to go to Times Square, West Village, all the touristy areas.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: And they say they love New York.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then like, I'm never going to be like, go back home.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think in that perspective, that's a different scenario and that's a different and also like the relationship between, you know, the US and Mexico and the way Mexicans are treated in the US like that's a whole part of the argument, but when it comes to
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: like, just this whole interaction, this whole idea is, it's like, I just think that asked, like, making someone feel like they can't say, I love this place because I didn't go to like the more residential areas or the more you could even say, like, rough areas of a city.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so when in the comments was like I live here and I don't even go there exactly like and and it's and I'm just like what do you what do you want me to do this with their first for seven days We had a great time everybody that was there was so nice to us.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: We made friends with the people who came to the meet up.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: It was just only good vibes, but internet
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: and also you didn't move there I didn't people were like you I hope that you left fast I hope you came and left quickly after I know and someone even was like yo you you're welcome to come back just leave fast when you come yeah and somebody else was saying like as long as you're paying taxes and it's like he doesn't live there like you're not even there anymore
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: People call me all types of name drop in memes and all that and I'm just like okay guys I also think here's a hard emoji.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you have a better day.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just I and we understand and we are like we're listening
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it clearly, this is like a really sensitive subject, and I think rightfully so.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: But I also think that there has to be some reasonable understanding and reality check of the fact that anytime someone travels anywhere, the first thing someone should look up is what are the neighborhoods that I should not go to as a foreigner in this city.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's important.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a good one.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: You should do that everywhere for safety, especially because it's like, you don't speak the language.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: You will look like a foreigner, so you will become a target.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm talking about a target, I'm crazy shit, but it's like, I don't wanna go somewhere as someone steals something for me.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not necessarily just in Mexico City.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's also in New York.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's in New York.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's no places in New York where if you ask me, what are some neighborhoods I should not go to?
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: I will tell you right now that I don't go to either.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, every city has that, but I just think that it's unfortunate how like people don't think like I'm a real person like they would just call me names all day and it's like the first time that this happens to me.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's like
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: because they have no idea of what you're talking about.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Most of the comments were basically saying, you don't love the city.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: You love Roma-Norte, or you love Condesa.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like you don't love the city, you love that.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, I mean, first of all, you don't know where I've been.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: I just post the photos, I want to share my time.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's some issues.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what happened today and I had to just tell you guys that it's, it's, it's kind of just been, like, on my mind and also like, if you don't put yourself out there on the internet the way that we do, it's hard to like, it's a, if it's a very weird like, a key feeling when there's like this discourse towards you from people that don't know you whatsoever, but everything you whatsoever.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but everyone is wrong because we literally went to so many other places.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and also it's like, yeah, we didn't go to the places that all these people are telling us, oh yeah, go here and see how much you love this city or whatever, and I would not go to those places.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I just I don't think that makes it an argument for whether or not like I understand the point but I also think it's really extremely.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: You also said that one of the places these people were recommending was like one of the areas where you don't want to go to.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're going to Google what neighborhoods should I stay away from when I visit Mexico City and one of them is this neighborhood called Te Pito.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: or something like that and that is like one of the places that people keep saying like oh why don't you go there whatever it's like what it's like telling somebody who visits New York go to Brownsville like what are we talking about I can't say I like New York if I don't go to like the roughest neighborhood in there that's insane
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean listen, well, I did my job today and I was just responding with love some girl DM You're on Instagram.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: She was like he only I see all the comments, but you're still so nice to them Like what do you want me to be?
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want me to say?
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I'm not about to go fight with these people.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just hope to have a better day And let's say this is just internet comments.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's not real and the crazy thing too is like none of these people actually say any of the shit To your face.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, definitely no.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, anyways, you guys so back to the episode
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so what's the first today?
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking so let's tell you the background story of this episode So when we were in Mexico City on our last day We were waiting in line at this bakery called Odette, which is Really good.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's in one of those new neighborhoods or whatever you want to call them And it is yeah, really good like pastries and stuff like that and we were waiting in line So it was right before we had to go back to our hotel and drive to the airport
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: And as we were waiting in line, there was a mom, a dad, and a son, I believe, that got in line behind us.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: And then the mom was like, okay, I don't want a coffee, just get me like a croissant or something.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go get a table.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: There were the last people to get in line.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: My first idea is,
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's always wonder, like, what's the right order of business when it comes to these steps of things?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Where it's a coffee shop that you go weight in line and then you order and then you sit.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's usually the order of things.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: But meanwhile, while you're waiting, people get up and they're leaving.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: and you can see them leaving.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right, but there's multiple people in this line where you know a lot of people and then today when we went to a coffee shop to get some breakfast and coffee and stuff we were waiting in line it was a busy busy coffee shop tables all tables were full so everybody is like I'm the tables like who's getting up and we just got in line we've been waiting for maybe like I don't know three minutes or so.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: And a table, we're waiting in line to order, and a couple gets up, and a table becomes available, and Yoni's like, okay, I'm going to go sit down and get this table.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, he's about to, he's walking over to sit down, another couple walks towards that same table, and they already have their coffee and their pastries and whatever.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: So they already have everything they need, they waited in line, they ordered, they're got this stuff, and they wanted to go sit down to enjoy it.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: Now is the perfect example that happened this morning of who has priority?
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: I was standing right there about to sit down and then we kind of pulled up, we kind of got to the table at the same time.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: May I contact?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then, right as I was telling you, did you see that I was going for that table?
- 16:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: So right there, the guy and then he's girlfriend or whoever was behind him was like, he asked me, was like, are you about to take this table?
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: What his hands like the coffee the pastries and then I was just like yes, now look down on his hands But I was like, but you already already already have your thing.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: So obviously you get priority And then I'm so oh man, thank you so much.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: So he sits down right maybe 10 seconds later He comes back to me.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, hey, but But at the time you get to the front we probably be done and I'll just let you know so you so then you can get the table.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's also nice
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciated that, but then we ended up finding a table later.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: So in that situation, what is the perfect thing to do?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because I could have said, yeah, I was about to sit here.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then we would have had a space.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's not your priority.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: But some people don't know that.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: So this is kind of like the theme of this episode, which is...
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: the unspoken rules and social etiquette that comes with various public spaces and social scenarios.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it would be good to start with the coffee shop one.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I'm just like looking for my notes here.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so when it comes to coffee shops, I think in general, if it's like a most of them in New York and most coffee shops in general, it's like you wait in line, you order and then I think it's okay to like order and then as you're waiting for your coffee or something like that, if there's a table available, like it goes it at the table.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that grabbing a table like someone still waits in line and someone else goes grabs a table is in proper etiquette.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I mean, I feel like I think most people know that.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think most people do that though.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's plenty of people that while one person's waiting in line, the other person goes gets a table.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but how far in line are you?
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: Because imagine someone taking a whole table for themselves, right?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: But then maybe whoever they're with is waiting a line for like another 15 minutes.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: You look pretty like...
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: People do that though.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: People don't hear it.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have anything to drink.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're just there.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, my family is coming in like 15 minutes.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're in the back of the line.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: People do that.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly what that lady did.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: She got in line.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: We were the last in line and there was a whole line in our Mexico city.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: She got in the back of the line.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, okay, you guys do this.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go get a table for us.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: And there was three of them.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for some reason I don't remember that.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'd be paying attention, but stuff like that in general.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Next thing adjacent to that is let's say I get first I let's say I'm meeting like three friends and I'm the first one that gets there and is that type is the same type of scenario where at a coffee shop.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: I order my drink already and then I sit down and I never do this But I've seen so many people do this.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's say it's a coffee shop with like chairs and like stuff like that I go and I like put chairs at my table for the people that are coming Because I want to say that I want to stop you before you even get there.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay When I let's say I'm meeting up at one o'clock at a coffee shop with friends I get there.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: I do not order my coffee until they get there
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: I wait until they get there, and then we'll never do finally there, okay, now we're going to get the coffee here.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what if they were running like 10 minutes late?
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I just kind of wait.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's the whole point we grab and coffee together.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what if I finish my car?
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I guess that is true.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: No, but that's true, the way you do it though.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what is, okay.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's fair.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say they're waiting, but do you wait like outside?
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: Do you wait inside by the door?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: Or do you like set up the table where you're going to say?
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, how many people are we expecting?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: How many?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say it's going to be a total of four.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: Total of four.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: And you get there by yourself.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: I get there first.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: I would say I'm going to look for a spot for us to sit down.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now if it's packed, yeah.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have a spot.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: okay let's say it's packed and then like a table freeze up that you could fit like all of you in some capacity we get a table so before you even order before your friends are even there you're about to take over an area that is
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: for that many people.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, maybe there's also, let's say, there's also other people that are waiting for a table.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: But you are like, your eyes are like a hawk.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: So you're on the lookout.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: You see someone's about to leave.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know how everybody's like inching their way close to that person who's about to leave.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then they're like, oh, are you guys leaving?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: So is that?
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: Are you guys leaving?
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then they get up and then you sit down.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: You have an order.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there's people that are like waiting around with their food.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like if you do that and you're also taking your single person, you're taking over like an area where there's clearly it's a it's an area for multiple people.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that is like crazy behavior.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: I will I feel first of all I would feel very uncomfortable just doing it because it's like how can you you can't you can't do that.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen people do that very comfortably, so unbothered, straight up.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think it's different in different countries like in America, like maybe in Europe?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think it's different there?
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I'm sure, I don't know, it could be like the way somebody was raised, because all these things are taught socially.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're not like, it's not something that you are taught directly.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like my parents never told me, this is the order of things.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: And you kind of just have to have common sense with this thing to be honest.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, I would think, but I've seen this happen many, many times, or let's say someone sits at a table by themselves.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: in whatever type of place.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's really busy and their table has a bunch of chairs.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: And you and your friends, you are like meeting up with something like you're here presently.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: And you want to grab a chair to sit with your friends at this other table.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, this person is here at this table with three chairs all by themselves.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then you want to take a chair.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: And then that person is like, oh, no, sorry.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, your friends are not here yet.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, why can't I say, well, your friends are not here yet.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, and we're all here right now.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: And we're all here and we already paid.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: We got our food.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're looking for a spot to sit.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but if somebody says, oh, no, sorry, like I'm waiting for my friends and they have like three chairs that are just empty.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: You got to figure it out when they come.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one of the, they should have got here.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they should have been here.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: Just how we are here.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: Your friends should have been here.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: Next.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's talk about laptops because today.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: We were at the coffee shop.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: We were getting our coffee.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: The first day, today's Saturday when we're recording this.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: Saturday morning, like 12, actually it's not even morning.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's like noon, getting our breakfast.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: The coffee shop is packed.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's busy.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's a small coffee shop, too.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: small little tables that are round.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: These are not, this is not the type of coffee shop that is like a work from coffee shop.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: That has like a lot of big tables.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: You share tables like with like other people's and strangers.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: These are very much individual small tables.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and a lot is like right by the table.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the coffee shop is so small that there's constantly like,
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: People are in the space.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: There's this person.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: He has the full laptop open Zoom meeting.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Zoom meeting of computer plugged into the plug.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, this coffee shop is the busiest it can probably be.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: And this is like, this is like their busy day.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I just really think that laptops do not belong in that type of coffee shop.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: that's also a bakery and people get food and stuff like that on a Saturday morning.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like go home, you know, people just came here in the morning to just get the coffee, maybe chat about something, say get cozy, that was inside.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like this will be wanted to do.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, I mean, I think we all agreed that that is not, I can't speak for everybody, but I wouldn't, I wouldn't do that.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: I just would go to a different type of coffee shop.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: I would go to something with bigger, more tables, you know, stuff like that.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: What do we feel, how do we feel about using the bathroom without buying anything?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that should be totally fine.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's a bathroom, bro.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that should also be totally fine just because especially when you're in a city, it's hanging out and about like, I need to go to the bathroom.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Please.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: You can only, you can only pee as a human being if you buy something.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: Think about it, just let that sink in for a little bit.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think it should be the same that, like, it would be the other person.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: But what would be the other person?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I need to, I need water, like, I should be able to, like, ask, you know, a coffee shop for, like, a glass of water.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's possible.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: You can do that.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, like, how is that different in the bathroom?
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like the bathroom is like an essential thing like you're I've been out in the city all day I'm a I need to go to the bathroom.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: Can I use it?
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm sorry.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: You got to show.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: We see you got to buy something So then I would like I mean usually when that happens I would just look for the cheapest thing.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: I can get I would just be like you can just get a water Yeah, can I get an ice water you buy like a random man?
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're making someone buy something
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: Next up, a close close to the coffee shops in the area, we have restaurant etiquette.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: If someone is 20 minutes late, should you order without them?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you guys remember the story where the guy was 40 minutes late.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: We went out to a restaurant and also another thing that we could add to the list is if you're running late, you have to let him know.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, you have to give him a heads up before you're late.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm going somewhere, you got to meet up at a seven o'clock.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Don't text me, I said seven.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: 30 minutes, I should already know like, I might be late.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not making it.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, even 15 minutes before your bro, just so you know, I'm going to be five, 10 minutes late, whatever.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: So this person doesn't do that at seven.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's like your bro, I'm about to be late.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, cool.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hearing I'm not ordering.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: The person keep coming up.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: The way to keep coming up to me like you can I get you anything?
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm just waiting for a friend.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, cool.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: 10 minutes go by 15, 20, 30 minutes go by.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yo, you know, the whole time I was like, this is the last time, well, I didn't say this is the last time I meet up with him, but I was thinking, this is crazy.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking, this is so disrespectful.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how this person has no, just like, I don't know, yeah, this respect, yeah, I'll never do that.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, so I don't know if that connected to what you're watching.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I mean mine was more like, if you're in a group, but even if you're by yourself,
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: If they're 20 minutes late, should you order without them?
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: Order what food?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's where I was going to say, if it's like, just me and another person, I would order like a drink or something.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: Just also so that the restaurant doesn't feel like I'm just taking up a table.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: that's more what I'm thinking about.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm just sitting there waiting for a friend and they're like hell of late, you know, for some reason, I will like order a drink of some kind just so the restaurant doesn't feel like they're wasting their time.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't really get mad.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: What's someone is late?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: I understand she happens.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, not as you like.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like I never get mad like, oh, this is late 15 minutes.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: I never get mad as someone being late.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, me either.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: Especially because I'm always
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: What's funny?
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you're the one.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: I have friends that I, I would be like, I don't know, five ten minutes late and they're like twenty minutes late and we're just like more late than the other person.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: What is it about being late that you can't figure out?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I can't figure out that I could leave earlier than early.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I also need to get, I underestimate how long it's going to take me to get ready.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like knowing myself, it's going to take me like seven outfits before I decide.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: What I'm going to wear seven outfits, like literally whenever we go somewhere, Alia would put all like different, completely different outfits, different pants, different shirts.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm basically wearing my entire wardrobe.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'd be like, should I do this?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: See how she sees how she feels, she's like, not let me change something, it changes the pants, shirt, what about this?
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: How do you think?
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a different look completely.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: And the longer time I have until we have to leave, the more likely it is, I will change again.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like if I'm like, okay, today, I'm gonna get ready early to just figure out what I'm gonna wear to give myself time.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say we have to leave at 6.45, right?
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: If I was like, you know what, I like this outfit and it's 630 and I know that we don't have to leave yet If you give me in too much time, I will change my mind to be like, hmm, maybe I should try something else.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: You still got time.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I still got time to play around.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: What is something else is better.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: This is crazy.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, you guys, this happens all The time and you can picture that my entire bed is covered with all the clothes that I've been trying and taking off and putting on and taking off and putting on.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: Any time we come back home after we've gone out somewhere, you got to do the automatic, like, got to put everything back in the closet.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: But if you come back hell lit in your tired, and you can't be bothered, you just put that shit on the floor and do it in tomorrow.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think it's like about your indecisiveness or do you always think like all right today's Thursday What's the weather and I want to look the best I can like what is I think one big problem for me is that my cloth I can't see my clothes Really clearly like I have clothes that are like I don't have enough hangers so I have clothes that are on top of other clothes Okay, and
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, like I feel like I can't see my clothes very well in my closet because I have so many different types of things.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: I have sweaters.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: I have t-shirts.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_00]: I have material.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like different materials.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a soft something.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: Some shit like falls off the hanger and I got to put it back on.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Or I take something like off and something else comes off.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think for mine mine is very different.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah yours is like a
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: The first outfit I put on is what I'm leaving with.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you will change something.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it depends, but not often, babe.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I know a pants I want to wear.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: I wear the same shoes every day.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I don't have that.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I just wear it shirt.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: The shirt doesn't even matter because I put a jacket over because it's cold still.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: So like it's just a pants and the jacket.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: I just got to decide on what jacket I want to wear.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, you mean what pants you want to wear?
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: The jacket is the same.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, well, how different jackets, like the minimum, how cold it is.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, in the winter, now I'm just tired and I'm just like frustrated that I have to whatever I want to wear, I doesn't even matter because I got to put a jacket on.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's annoying.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but when it comes to like a group thing, I do think that let's say there's four of us meeting and one person is late, I think it's okay to order like some appetizers while we're still waiting for that person to come.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: Are you so out of the four of us here out of the four of the two people who came?
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, there's two people and we're still waiting on two.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay, it's a little sad.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like definitely ordered drinks.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's always acceptable.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like kind of like stretches out the I think more depends also if we're really hungry.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like we'll order an appetizer and just like eat.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a problem.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or even just text the group and be like, oh, we want to order something so then by the time you get here, it's all right here.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do think if somebody's like running really late, I will order even if it's just like one on one like depends how hungry Yeah, if you're running really late, I'm sorry dog like you won't have one here.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: Okay Now when it comes to the restaurant, you eat, you enjoy all that stuff.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to splitting the bill
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think most people in general, if it's not like a specific scenario when one person really wanted to like pay for the dinner, you want to take somebody out for their birthday You want to just randomly treat your friend and be like, I got dinner this time.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it is, that's one deal But I think on the regular if nobody says something like that
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: you're assuming that we're all gonna split it like if it's a if it's like maybe two couples then maybe it's only gonna be two cards you know one from each couple if it's like three friends then it's gonna be three cards now with Venmo and if all these like paying apps and shares and stuff like that maybe one person puts their card down the other two Venmo that person like they're share
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I would say most of the time, people do split it just like, evenly for however many people are there.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't think that's that comment.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what do you think people do?
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, people just pay individually for what they get.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's like the most, well, it depends where.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Does it depend what kind of restaurant we're at?
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think it depends on where everyone is like in life kind of like if you're a student I feel like most of the time you're gonna pay for what you want if you're already like a work and profession Okay, I'm talking everybody's like late 20s to like their 30s
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think splitting and have to me.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: I love splitting just Even me because it's a hassle to like figure you ever get to receive and be okay.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: So who got?
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, who got this margarita and then this person has it and then the other person got this and now you just trying to do math too much.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: Nah, it's not embarrassing.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit, that's what I was going to say.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: For me, something about it is uncomfortable.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you really just, you like, no, but I think it's a fries.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think you got to burger with, it's like, well, we're talking about a few dollars difference.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: However, if we all had a great time, I'm like,
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we all had a great time, but what if out of the whole group, there's one person that had like four cocktails, four drinks, two burgers, okay, who has two burgers?
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: I have two burgers.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like one person had specifically like several drinks, and maybe they had their own appetizer.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, good for them, let's split it, you know, and show yourself.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: Nah, I feel like that's as a person who got the four drinks if I was that person that you guys honest me if we're a divided by seven I'm gonna give my own bill.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, something like that.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like can you just get get my bill like separately?
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: I was going into
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do think also if you're getting like shared food and stuff it just makes sense to like split it Who oh, I'm gonna take the fries and you pay for the shrimp and like come on.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's too much.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: You pay for the ship.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's crazy We got what we got.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: How do we feel about airplane etiquette
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's many different things I can have.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we'll start first with, this is not maybe a big thing for people, but I love boarding the plane at the end.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: I hate it.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we have this argument, like, not argument, but we have this thing every time on.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: Every time we go somewhere, this is right.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say we are group C.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're always like the last group too, because we get the cheap flight.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: So it's always like group six groups six.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like sometimes we'll group 17, right?
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't matter.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, group six.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: For me, I like to get up when like group three is lining up.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: Because other people do that too.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like everybody that's standing up, like a lot of them are our group, but they just trying to get the point of getting there early.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: So you have space for your carry on.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: but Alia likes to take her time until they call group six, Alia will not move, she'll just sit there, whatever, and then they find it called group six.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: So then we get up, we're at the back of our line already.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: But Alia, she doesn't care, she doesn't care, she doesn't care, she doesn't.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I'm in line.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm gonna get on the plane, but she doesn't realize that.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: The space up top for the carry-on will be full and it will have to send our thing to Okay, it was the problem with that.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm much rather not have to carry my my bag around the airport and worry about When we get out of the plane.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: I got it.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I got it like lift it and then I'll excuse me something about it I just love having as many bags as I can with me knowing that
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: I have it with me, especially if it's like, I don't know, like things that are really Well, I also have like my my my bag that's like my bag That you don't put up top anyways.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: You put it under the seat Yeah, so that bag as long as I got that bag.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good So that's why I don't really like I never understand even if Let's say we're in the earlier group.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: We're group three
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I'm not about to get up when they start boarding and wait for group 3.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's like group 3, I'll be waiting till group 6 gets on.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm going to wait until they call group 3 and then I'm going to go.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: I just like, I don't ever have a reason to be rushing.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: Worst case, if they need to put my bag over there, put it.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need it when I want the flight.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: I just hate it because I think anytime you send your bag for checking bag, there's a risk of something happened to your bag.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, it's never happened luckily, but I feel like it needs to happen for you to be like, okay, cool.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like this feeling.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, next.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: One other thing, uh, when it comes to planes reclining your seat, is it acceptable only on long flights?
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: What about short flights?
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Does it matter which class you're sitting in?
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think it matters how tall is the person behind you because you guys, my knees are touching the seats.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's not what it's fault, it's my fault if anything.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: No, actually it's the airplanes fault, because why the hell is economy so damn tight?
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, but sometimes it's spacious.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and randomly, when we were flying with...
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it was, but yeah, I felt like it was... We had a lot of space.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I had a lot of space, which for you out here, you can damn stretch your legs.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have space all the time.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's one perk about being a short person.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: There's many, there's more perks than that, but yeah, that's definitely one of the good ones.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: But for me, it's like, I think if it's a short flight, we should just not be reclining period.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: If this flight is three hours long, I think you're good.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, but you can't really say that, because everybody paid their ticket.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: Your seat is made to recline.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: So you have every right to do it.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're tall.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, bro.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I need to be comfortable on this flight, because I'm able to go to a meeting.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: I need to be, I'm not about to just be uncomfortable because you're tall.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that much more comfortable to recline?
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: It is actually really is because when you just sit up straight, if you just recline a little bit, everything just changes, but I don't even do that myself.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what you got to do when you get on the plane.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: You have to recline immediately.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_00]: Don't wait mid-flight because now you say, you can recline when you're taking off.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: You can't recline when you're taking off.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_03]: Well, oh, you can.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_03]: Oh.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's only when they say, like, we've reached 30,000 feet.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's when you can cruise out to and then you can get a recline, your C, okay?
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you sure recline it ASAP, so then it's not enough.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: I do think when we're eating, there's no reclining.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: Who eats when he's reclined?
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm saying like, the food comes later in the flight.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: If it's a longer flight and let's say, you know, people get relaxed, you know, they reclined all that.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then they're starting to bring the meal out on like a longer flight.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's when like everybody should decline.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't, I never even pay attention.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what happens.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like if they don't do that, I do that instantly.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because also, I'm eating something like, I can't eat like from far away, I need to say something to spill shit on myself.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: Eat from far away.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: So like, you got to lean over your food, but then the screen of the thing is like, right in your face.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I would automatically like lift my seat up.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: But if the person in front of me is not doing that, I'm going to ask them.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, excuse me, do you mind?
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like I can't eat you know one time I was so mad because the guy really reclined shit out of that seat and it wasn't a economy seat And I remember only I remember almost tapping him on the show the same excuse me I'm 64 but now I thought about it like he doesn't care.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's also like what that's nice Why does he have to be me like I want to look like my seat bro?
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm glad Okay, how do we feel about taking your shoes off on a plane?
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: That is absolutely disgusting
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: really?
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think if it's a long flight, if you have socks on, it's okay.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't have socks on, you don't have what are you doing?
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know what happened every one time, I was on the window seat, right?
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know how, you know how, you know how there's like a little space between the window, between your seat and
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: like the armrest and the armrest and then like there's like a sp- if you put your hands in there the person behind you can see your hand yeah so I'm chilling one day you know relaxing you know like when you get on a plane you set everything up right my phone is there there's my laptop gonna be here I got my little snacks you're good you're comfortable yeah and then I feel something like tap my my elbow a little bit so then I looked my left and it's someone's foot just
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: Tose out.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: Just toes out.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: Are you serious?
- 43:30[SPEAKER_00]: No socks.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Nah.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I remember what I did.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: I was, I tapped his foot with my elbow.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Your brain.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I mean, I don't want it, I don't want his foot.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: It was like literally right there next to me.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's just a quick little story.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he happened a while ago.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: But do not do it.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like saying, and you do this, listen, I hope you don't do it.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because that is extremely disrespectful.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know that it's crazy.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: But when you get on the airplane, you have to, I don't think taking your shoes off is like Nesia, whatever.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: As long as you have socks on, I think it's okay, but even still, it's so dirty.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's true, but it's about comfort.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: people throw up.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: There's a bunch of right.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know what happened.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: Also, when we're wiping things like the sea and all that, I don't know make sense.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: We're wiping the sea.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: Because you have, you have clothes on, what are you wiping the sea?
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: There's people who get on.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: There's people who get on this in their wipe the whole sea, like with a little, what do you call?
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I know, you mean the sea in front of them.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: the seat in front of them to see that they are sitting on.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's weird.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: I would understand wiping like the armrests and whatever you're gonna touch with your hands.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: The seat belt is the most important one.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: That you got to take.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: Cause that's the thing, that's the one thing that everybody touches.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really a germifo like that, like we're good.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, as long as before I eat, I'm gonna like use some hands in the size or something, it's okay.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: And also I'm gonna use a fork in a knife, like, it's all right.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I'm definitely wiping.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't done it, but I think I should start doing it.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: Who does have control over the window shade?
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: Is it the person sitting at the window?
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Who has control?
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like who has control over the window shade?
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: I would say the person at the window.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_00]: Mwah.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: But just think about everybody, you know?
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like everything is down and your thing is up, like just read the room a little bit.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like if it's if we're flying, like during the day, but like everybody's like trying to sleep in the plane,
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, close your window.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: You should go in and happen.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what flight that was.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there was a specific guy that was this one person.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, we were right in front of the sun.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: The sun was like outside the airplane.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's how it felt like.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: I was just like, bro, come on.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like, are you serious?
- 45:56[SPEAKER_00]: That was so cool.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, across the plane.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he would just randomly like, lower it to see what's up.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, lights up the whole plane.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: He really feels like that.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I might be guilty of this, but, and it's kind of like, I don't know.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: But have me like the reading light on?
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I wait to do this.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: When everybody's sleeping, it's like, I'm not ready to sleep yet.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: I want to read my book.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really enjoying my book.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: I remember you did that shit one time and I was just like, babe, you are that one person.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: I was that one person.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, when I do that, I do have to look around if there's anybody else who has that on, there's on.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: And if there is, then I'll leave it on.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: But if I'm the only person, I gotta turn it off.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's time to go.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it should be a bit of a read if you want to.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're not on these plans to do what it would be like.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's really bright though.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if there's someone next to me trying to sleep, that's really fucked up, and also a lot one last thing is like, when it comes to, if you're sitting in the middle sea, you get priority to both armrests that are like on your side.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, because we are in the middle.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: You have the worst sea.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_00]: But also, we have one at least, like, yeah.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you're on the right side by the window or left side,
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you have the benefit of being by the window or being on the aisle.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what about getting up to go to the bathroom and you're sitting in the middle between two strangers?
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: And the person on the left that's on the aisle is like sleeping.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: Gotta wake him up.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not about to like try to climb over you.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but also I'm not about to hold that shit in.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: You have to get up at then.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: The worst part is when you come back, the back on that sea is sleeping again.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: That has happened before.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's that.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then one last thing to that is my pet peeve.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I just don't know what's going on is people getting up so quick when the flight, when the plane landed.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why that shit bothers me, yo.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody be ready to go, you just stand there for 15 minutes.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just like, what are you accomplishing?
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: What did you accomplish?
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's like, getting so ready, they put their backpack on, you while they're back by because like, hitting my face because I'm still sitting down.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, yo, I'm relaxed.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_00]: I seen a video on Instagram and this guy filmed himself.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think he had like a GoPro on his chest or something where I like a POV camera.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: As soon as, because you can't get up
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: right yeah baby I swear he was like ready he was filming he had his hand on the sea belt as soon as that sound came on he unblockled he already had like I don't think he had a bag up like upstairs like at the top it was just like his backpack grab the and he ran to the front
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's so extra.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: You read it, but he was in the back too.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: So everybody's kind of like starting to get up on Buckle and he's like excuse me, excuse me, and he was out.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: He was, he was the first one out.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's kind of fire just to do as like a fun thing, but that's a lot.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna try to find it, but it was pretty funny.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, as I said, we're doing a part two of this.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: So do we wanna do one more and then we go over to Patreon for part two or because we got, we got plenty left.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I mean, let's do, we're just going to continue for, um, for Patreon, for tomorrow's episode, there for Patreon.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you guys, uh, we'll see you over there.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: This was already, like, I don't know, almost, almost an hour.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: We have plenty of these, and, uh, some of these are going to be really, really good.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot, I feel like there's a lot that has to do with, obviously, the main thing is that all these things happen in some sort of public setting.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think it's really interesting how some people have different takes on this.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like most of the time we agree, I would say,
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm curious to see where everybody on the pod will think about some of these things because I know somebody is really resonated with some of you.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, there's some things like I was talking to my mom earlier and she was telling her like, oh, we're going to record it for the podcast.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I told her, I was like, you know, you're kind of guilty about the whole, like she is that person that will have someone in the way to line and she'll get a table while we haven't even ordered yet.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was like, I want, like, I want to have a table and I'm just like, okay, yeah, everybody else.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody was table two.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: Get away your turn.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it's crazy because everybody's playing the rule.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, everybody's following the rules.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there is no official rule, but you just got to think about it.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: I just always think it's funny when like everybody, let's say you already have your last thing.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say you already have your food.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: You said lasting like seven times.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: You have your food already, but there's no table available and you got it for here too.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: So you got like the food on the tray, you got your coffee cup and like a mug or something.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you're clearly trying to sit here and you're waiting and there's also another person that clearly came after you and they're also waiting for a table and let's say they're in a better position in the restaurant that they're closer to a table that becomes available.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: Are you about to go fight over that table and be like, I'm sorry, like we were waiting first.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to say that?
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what do you think?
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: What would common sense do?
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: Common sense.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: What I would not really do is not fight over it.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I wish I was the type of person that would be tapping them on the shoulder.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: If he's me, like, we have our stuff for here.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: We've been waiting before you.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: I can't imagine doing that, but I wish I would.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I would do that.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: To me, it's never that big of a day.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like, you know what, this is going to the park.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but our shit is for here.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you guys.
