- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey. Everybody good.
- 0:29Afternoon from the chicken coop. I'm sitting out here getting
- 0:33ready for the big storm that's coming this week.
- 0:35Everybody's talking about it and yes, we're going to have it even
- 0:38down South. So it's going to be really
- 0:40pleasant for all of us all over the country.
- 0:43I don't know my listeners in other countries, yeah, we're
- 0:45getting walloped with snow and winter weather.
- 0:47So the other day I did a podcast talking about how you know, easy
- 0:51it was to lose a customer and it.
- 0:57Really stuck. And the saga continues.
- 1:00So here's what's funny to me after all of this happened.
- 1:04And apparently within this company, one person does not
- 1:08connect with another. Nobody checks.
- 1:10Which cracks me up that you could have a lead that wants to
- 1:14buy a ticket to your event and nobody reaches out and then you
- 1:19continue to market to that person.
- 1:22And I have gotten, since this whole little incident has gone
- 1:26on, I've gotten four additional emails asking me to sign up.
- 1:30Like it was one of the first emails or I'm in a, what we
- 1:33would call a drip campaign in marketing.
- 1:35It's called a drip campaign, which means they're going to
- 1:37send between usually between 9 and 15 emails until they get you
- 1:42to sign up. And each one of them, the offers
- 1:45continue and they come on. And then you have to decide.
- 1:48And it keeps going back and forth and back and forth and
- 1:50back and forth. Well, we're in the middle of
- 1:51that with me being dripped upon. And let me tell you, it is
- 1:54really irritating me because one, they should know, they
- 1:58should have checked the system. Someone in management should
- 2:01have checked the system. Someone should have said who's
- 2:04calling in, who's emailing in? What are the results of this?
- 2:08Nobody's checking. Nobody's checking anything.
- 2:11And this goes to a very important factor if you are in
- 2:15business and you make money in sales or you are managing a
- 2:20team, do you actually know what's happening?
- 2:23Do you actually have clarity on any of this or are you just kind
- 2:26of letting it happen haphazardly?
- 2:29Nothing. I, I can't tell you nothing
- 2:31pisses me off more than the fact that this is what's going on
- 2:34with them and that no one has had the decency to reach out and
- 2:37ask the question. What can we do?
- 2:39For you, how can we make this better or any of that?
- 2:42It's so super important. So I am left to sit here and
- 2:47say, well, there's nothing that I can do about this scenario
- 2:51other than observe it. And what I'm observing is
- 2:54mistake after mistake after mistake and, and what is the
- 2:58benefit of that? Well, one, it's going to help me
- 3:01understand what never to do, even though I already have a
- 3:04great understanding of that from my all of my time working with
- 3:07all these events and speakers and everything else, I have a
- 3:10good understanding of it, but now I'm really solidifying it.
- 3:13And two, I get to share, share this with you guys so you
- 3:16understand what not to do because there is a big long list
- 3:20now when you are doing a drip campaign and when you're trying
- 3:22to poke at your people and you're emailing them and trying
- 3:25to get them to respond, it is a very good idea to cross
- 3:29reference and say have we had any responses?
- 3:32Has have people reached out and tried to buy and couldn't buy.
- 3:36And a bigger portion of this is have I gone through the sales
- 3:39process myself? Because often times people will
- 3:42write emails for drip campaign, but they never actually send
- 3:45them to themselves to see what it looks like or to read through
- 3:48it or to feel what the process looks like.
- 3:51And when you don't do that, you are doing damage to your
- 3:54business. I can promise you that.
- 3:56Because if you open it up and it doesn't influence you, then you
- 4:00have a problem. It's just like if someone's
- 4:02going to start dating somebody, I always say to them, well, I
- 4:05want you to look at this and say, would you date yourself?
- 4:07What are the things? Would you go out with yourself?
- 4:09Would you hire yourself? If you were in a company
- 4:12situation and you're going out and pitching after you listen to
- 4:15your stuff, would you hire yourself?
- 4:17And often times people go, no, I didn't really look at it that
- 4:19way. But when we do, it's
- 4:21enlightening. It's beyond enlightening.
- 4:23So I I ask you now, if you're doing emails, if you're reaching
- 4:29out, if you have a brochure, if you have marketing a website, go
- 4:33through it and pretend you are a brand new customer.
- 4:37Pretend you know nothing. Sit down and ask it, ask
- 4:41yourself to analyze it. And if you can't do it in a
- 4:44neutral manner and you are into ChatGPT, I would ask your
- 4:49ChatGPT to ask like a act like a brand new customer and go
- 4:53through my website and tell me if it's easy to purchase.
- 4:56Tell me what your experience is with the site.
- 5:00Tell me is it easy to navigate? Is it easy to understand?
- 5:04Would you be able to purchase? Would you understand what I was
- 5:07doing? Have it do an analysis for you
- 5:10because God knows it is a very useful tool to have something
- 5:15neutral like that look at it so you can do it for yourself.
- 5:18You can ask ChatGPT. To do it or you can have a
- 5:20friend. Do it, but you can't get mad at
- 5:21the friend with whatever they tell you.
- 5:23You've got to be asking someone that's got a critical eye but
- 5:27willing to be honest with you. So hopefully this is helpful and
- 5:30I will keep you updated on the saga because this doesn't seem
- 5:33to be going away. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:36you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:38Bye.
