- 0:28Speaker 1: to flow Rider. Oh yeah, Florida for all you you
- 0:33Speaker 1: uncool people.
- 0:34Speaker 2: That's where that wrapper Florida lives, isn't it.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yes, in flow Rider. We this is late. Sorry it's
- 0:44Speaker 1: late for you.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It's only like seven thirty.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No, I'm talking about the episode is late this week.
- 0:49Speaker 1: We had every intention of recording earlier and then we didn't. So,
- 0:54Speaker 1: but the children are cooperating tonight for some reason, they
- 0:58Speaker 1: went to bed. We are busy over here. We're preparing
- 1:02Speaker 1: for our trip to Europe, and I'm just ignoring the
- 1:10Speaker 1: fact that we have to fly with three small children.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I'm just pretending it's not happening until it happens, you know.
- 1:20Speaker 1: But we got all the things set up. I think
- 1:23Speaker 1: it's the baby that's going to be the problem. Yes,
- 1:27Speaker 1: the baby's a problem.
- 1:28Speaker 2: She has a screech that goes right through.
- 1:30Speaker 1: You, but only if she doesn't get what she wants,
- 1:33Speaker 1: so I think she'll be okay. So she also is
- 1:38Speaker 1: trying to walk, which is a bit of a problem
- 1:40Speaker 1: for us.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yes, all of a sudden, just decided nine months old,
- 1:44Speaker 2: I want to start walking.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Well, she's eight months old, Steward.
- 1:48Speaker 2: For another couple of days.
- 1:50Speaker 1: No, for more than a couple days, for an entire week,
- 1:53Speaker 1: which is a long time in a baby's life.
- 1:55Speaker 2: So she'll be walking then.
- 1:57Speaker 1: No. I don't know, Stuart, but I'm just saying she's
- 2:00Speaker 1: only eight months old.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And it's going to be a problem because she's trying
- 2:02Speaker 2: to walk.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yes, she's trying to walk. She's probably gonna learn to
- 2:05Speaker 1: walk in Europe and then be walking when we get
- 2:08Speaker 1: on that plane to come home, and it's.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Even longer walking shoes for her?
- 2:14Speaker 1: She don't need no walking shoes.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Are she supposed to walk with no shoes on a
- 2:18Speaker 2: plane we're going?
- 2:19Speaker 1: I think they have shoes in Europe last I checked.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We get her some little baby Louis Vuton or some
- 2:27Speaker 1: Manolo Blonnix or some Did I say Louis Vuitton, or
- 2:33Speaker 1: did I say what is the thing lou Bouton? Lou Bouton?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Are you talking about daddy? Someons?
- 2:40Speaker 1: No, Stewart, Jesus, what is wrong with you?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:45Speaker 1: They said they bought it at Sam's Club and bulk
- 2:47Speaker 1: or whatever. Gross anyway, so we got that coming up,
- 2:53Speaker 1: So we're packing. I'm going to make stew go to
- 2:57Speaker 1: a pumpkin patch tomorrow. Yeah, I just like to throw
- 3:01Speaker 1: that in there, even on top of all the other things.
- 3:03Speaker 1: We're gonna go to a pumpkin patch. But all day
- 3:05Speaker 1: Sunday we pack.
- 3:07Speaker 2: We do nothing but pack, pack and get our house.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, people, anyways, Stewart people, because I have a
- 3:18Speaker 1: I started my Instagram page, if you recall, So people
- 3:21Speaker 1: are gonna know. No, I can't just go silent for
- 3:25Speaker 1: for that long.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I know. I gotta be careful, run around the house
- 3:29Speaker 2: recording shit all the time.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I know, I know. I told him what I said.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's the ABC's. I said, it's the ABC's of content creation,
- 3:39Speaker 1: always be creating. Well I wanted to say it was
- 3:41Speaker 1: the ab RS, but that doesn't really make s since
- 3:45Speaker 1: which is always be recording. So it's the ABC's. So yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I'm always tossing a camera up on him now, and
- 3:52Speaker 1: he's got to be on he's got to be on
- 3:54Speaker 1: the lookout. But we also, oh, this is podcast related.

- 5:12Speaker 1: I know you don't because you think it's all stupid.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But you know what, I think your y'all need Jesus
- 5:16Speaker 1: is stupid.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I don't think it's stupid. I think you're stupid, Stuart.
- 5:20Speaker 1: What is wrong with you? Anyways? All right, so enough
- 5:24Speaker 1: of all that nonsense and we will go ahead and
- 5:27Speaker 1: get into our case out of Florida, flow Rider, Florida.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Hannah brim Nay Zayner was born June twenty first, nineteen
- 5:39Speaker 1: ninety two. Her parents were Art and Susan Zayner. Now,
- 5:43Speaker 1: there wasn't a lot about Hannah that I could find
- 5:47Speaker 1: her growing up, but she would marry young and she
- 5:50Speaker 1: had a toddler, and then soon after she found herself
- 5:53Speaker 1: pregnant again, but the marriage was falling apart, so she
- 5:58Speaker 1: decides to So she's pregnant, has a toddler, decides to
- 6:01Speaker 1: leave her husband. From what I understand is the toddler
- 6:06Speaker 1: was living with the dad, and Hannah moved out, and
- 6:11Speaker 1: so she's pregnant, moves out and she begins living in
- 6:14Speaker 1: an extended stay motel while pregnant.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah, So her parents seem to be pretty supportive and
- 6:22Speaker 1: everything like that. She just was They said she was
- 6:25Speaker 1: going through a rough time.
- 6:26Speaker 2: So, so who's the new baby daddy?
- 6:28Speaker 1: It's the husband. Is the is the dad?
- 6:31Speaker 2: So he's the father of both.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yes, he's the father of both. She left, so she's
- 6:36Speaker 1: they had the got married young, had had had a baby.
- 6:40Speaker 1: That baby's now a toddler. She gets pregnant again and
- 6:42Speaker 1: that's when she decides they're gonna break up and everything
- 6:45Speaker 1: like that. So they said she was just their parents
- 6:47Speaker 1: said she was going through a hard time. I think
- 6:50Speaker 1: maybe she was just having a like hormonal No, Stuart,
- 6:55Speaker 1: don't you can't say that. Okay, no, not postpartum. She's pregnant,
- 6:59Speaker 1: you dumb ass.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Pre partum.
- 7:00Speaker 1: No, it's part if anything, it would be part of them.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Oh No, I think she just got married young and
- 7:07Speaker 1: she's probably just evaluating her life. Maybe she's thinking, what
- 7:10Speaker 1: if I got myself into and you know, I mean,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you know you'd be twenty three this happening to you.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You could also be thirty nine and this is happening
- 7:18Speaker 1: to you. You just don't know. So wondering if you
- 7:22Speaker 1: know one day you have like no kids, next thing
- 7:24Speaker 1: you know you have three.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You're like, what the just leave the house and go
- 7:28Speaker 2: to an extended stay motel.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, I'm going to an extended stay hotels hotel, Yes,
- 7:35Speaker 1: no motels for me.
- 7:36Speaker 2: There's a lot of amenities when.
- 7:38Speaker 1: The h becomes an M. So that's a little bit
- 7:42Speaker 1: about Hannah and what her situation is. She's found herself
- 7:46Speaker 1: living in this motel.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Not very good, is what you're saying. Yeah. On January
- 7:52Speaker 2: twenty third, twenty sixteen, Hannah's mother, Susan, received a phone
- 7:55Speaker 2: call from the manager at the motel where Hannah was staying.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Hannah was supposed to check out from the hotel the
- 8:01Speaker 2: next day, but the manager had not seen her for
- 8:04Speaker 2: a few days. Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And I think it was more of a smaller establishment
- 8:10Speaker 1: as opposed to you know, like the hotels. I feel
- 8:12Speaker 1: like they Yeah, it's more of a small independent one.
- 8:16Speaker 1: So they would have noticed not seeing you know, a pregnant,
- 8:20Speaker 1: a young pregnant lady walking around that they'd seen all
- 8:23Speaker 1: the time. There's probably a little concerned.
- 8:26Speaker 2: How long was she staying there? Do we know?
- 8:27Speaker 1: We don't know, but it was extended.
- 8:30Speaker 2: It was extended. Shut up concerned, He contacted Susan. Susan
- 8:42Speaker 2: became instantly worried because her daughter was five months pregnant,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and she was concerned she could have had a medical issue.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah that when you're that far along, you.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Could serious at this time of night.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yes, at this time, it's.
- 8:56Speaker 2: A goddamn mustang. I bet well, is.
- 9:06Speaker 1: This a recording studio, because it's fine. No. So I
- 9:12Speaker 1: was gonna say that we live in like our neighborhood's
- 9:15Speaker 1: gone downhill, that there's cars getting broken into. Somebody's car
- 9:18Speaker 1: got stolen last night. So we're on borrowing time at
- 9:20Speaker 1: this point.
- 9:22Speaker 2: So I just kicked down our door and murders all
- 9:24Speaker 2: in our sleep.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Now that was we're trying to record like ourselves, recording
- 9:30Speaker 1: and the.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Camera fell, but you knocked it over and didn't fall.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Okay, let's get back to it.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yes, so mom's concern five months pregnant medical issue could
- 9:42Speaker 2: be happening. So Susan began calling Hannah's phone, but there's
- 9:46Speaker 2: no answer. She also called several of Hannah's friends, but
- 9:49Speaker 2: none had seen or heard from her. They decided to
- 9:53Speaker 2: drive to the motel and see if they could find
- 9:55Speaker 2: her themselves or if there were any clues about where
- 9:59Speaker 2: she might be. Upon arriving, they found her that her
- 10:02Speaker 2: car was not in the parking lot. They had a
- 10:05Speaker 2: small amount of relief, thinking that she may have just
- 10:07Speaker 2: gone out to clear her head since she was going
- 10:10Speaker 2: through a hard time. But she's at an extended stay
- 10:13Speaker 2: of motel. Isn't this clearing her head being away from everybody?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Well yeah, but maybe she then she has to get.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Away from the hotels and go take a dress. So
- 10:22Speaker 2: they speak to the manager and he agrees to let
- 10:24Speaker 2: them into the motel room. The relief that they had
- 10:28Speaker 2: momentarily quickly went away. All of Hannah's stuff was still
- 10:32Speaker 2: inside her room, toothbrush, toiletry's clothes, charger for her phone,
- 10:38Speaker 2: everything that she would need to be gone for more
- 10:40Speaker 2: than a few hours was still there in the hotel room.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Motel room, they did notice her purse was missing, as
- 10:47Speaker 2: well as her jacket. Susan was sure something bad had
- 10:50Speaker 2: happened to Hannah and they immediately called police to report
- 10:54Speaker 2: her as a missing person.
- 10:56Speaker 1: A family friend who had known the Zaaner family for
- 11:00Speaker 1: years was working as an officer, so he knew Hannah
- 11:03Speaker 1: would not just leave without talking to her mother, So
- 11:06Speaker 1: whenever this call came in to police, he gets word
- 11:09Speaker 1: of it and he's he heads straight out to the
- 11:11Speaker 1: scene and he observed exactly what Hannah's parents had, which
- 11:17Speaker 1: was all of her personal items are there. Her car's gone.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Everything doesn't look like she It's just an odd scene
- 11:25Speaker 1: that her car's gone, but all her stuff is there.
- 11:27Speaker 1: So he did. As he's looking around this motel room,
- 11:30Speaker 1: he did find a small bag that had numbers written inside.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So it's a little leather like makeup pouch type thing,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and the numbers appeared to be a VEN number. So
- 11:40Speaker 1: he decided to run that VEN number just to see,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you know, whose car this was, because it was a
- 11:45Speaker 1: very odd place to have a VEN number written inside,
- 11:49Speaker 1: like he might scribble it down on a piece of
- 11:50Speaker 1: paper or something, but to ride it inside of a
- 11:53Speaker 1: makeup pouch with the permanent marker is very very odd.
- 11:59Speaker 1: So the number came back to a car owned by
- 12:02Speaker 1: Nelson Armis. Now they contacted Nelson and he said that
- 12:05Speaker 1: he was a friend of Hannah's but that he hadn't
- 12:08Speaker 1: seen her in about three or four days and that
- 12:11Speaker 1: he didn't know where she'd gone, and he had no
- 12:13Speaker 1: clue why she would write his VEN number in her bag.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So it's all just still very odd odd to police,
- 12:22Speaker 1: but they're just having to take Nelson at his word.
- 12:25Speaker 1: At this point, they don't even know if they don't
- 12:27Speaker 1: even know if Hannah's truly missing. She might just be
- 12:30Speaker 1: driving around. We don't know.
- 12:31Speaker 2: We just don't know.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So they continue questioning her friends and trying to track
- 12:35Speaker 1: her movements. But no one had seen Hannah in the
- 12:37Speaker 1: past few days, and she had not told anyone she
- 12:40Speaker 1: was planning on going on a trip or anything like that.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So she'd also been I mean, social media was a
- 12:46Speaker 1: thing in twenty sixteen. They hadn't seen any activity on
- 12:50Speaker 1: her social media or anything, so she'd simply just kind
- 12:54Speaker 1: of vanished without a trace.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Now, as you might imagine, care police are growing increasingly concerned,
- 13:01Speaker 2: I imagine, about about Hannah and feared the worst may
- 13:05Speaker 2: have happened to her. They were frantically looking for any
- 13:08Speaker 2: signs of where she might be. Hannah's parents were quickly
- 13:11Speaker 2: losing hope, but were trying to be positive. No one
- 13:15Speaker 2: had seen or heard from Hannah since January nineteenth. They
- 13:19Speaker 2: contacted the estranged husband as he was the most likely suspect,
- 13:23Speaker 2: of course, and she you know, not from what I heard, No, but.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I heard that fact that for pregnant women, the number
- 13:33Speaker 1: one cause of death or something like that is like
- 13:37Speaker 1: homicide by their spouse or partner.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Who made them pregnant. Yeah, yeah, that is crazy.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Now, Hannah, when I'm in danger, whenever I'm pregnant, do
- 13:49Speaker 1: by you?
- 13:50Speaker 2: No, I'm in danger by you.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So anyway, they contacted the husband because Hannah being pregnant
- 13:58Speaker 2: and planning on leaving him seemed like a red flag
- 14:01Speaker 2: that they should question the fellow.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:03Speaker 2: When police asked him about his last contact with Hannah,
- 14:06Speaker 2: he said it had been days. He was very upset
- 14:09Speaker 2: about Hannah going missing. He said she was a good
- 14:12Speaker 2: mother and that he always allowed Hannah to see their
- 14:15Speaker 2: son when she wanted. They asked him about his whereabouts
- 14:20Speaker 2: on the day Hannah went missing. He said he was
- 14:22Speaker 2: at home with their toddler and he had no access
- 14:25Speaker 2: to a vehicle that day. They looked into his alibi
- 14:28Speaker 2: and from what they could ascertain, he was telling the truth.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Kara, can I just read this. I looked this up
- 14:34Speaker 1: while you were talking to No, I'm.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Going to finish this. No. Hannah's parents were questioned about
- 14:40Speaker 2: the relationship, and they believed that Hannah's husband did love
- 14:43Speaker 2: her and that he had never been violent or angry
- 14:46Speaker 2: with her, Unlike Cara toward Stewart, they truly did not
- 14:50Speaker 2: think he had anything to do with it. Yes, you
- 14:53Speaker 2: can read you can read your stat now, Okay.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Homicide is the leading cause of death for pregnant women
- 15:01Speaker 1: in the US. Data shows it says they are more
- 15:05Speaker 1: likely to be murdered than die from medical causes like
- 15:08Speaker 1: preoclampsia or hemorrhaging. What the fuck's wrong with you men? Okay, Stuart?
- 15:14Speaker 2: Are you alive to tell anybody about us after three
- 15:18Speaker 2: babies fell out of you?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we were just talking. I was just mortified because
- 15:23Speaker 1: I just was thinking of the fact that Stu has
- 15:26Speaker 1: watched three children come out of me, and all of
- 15:28Speaker 1: a sudden, I was embarrassed to be in the room
- 15:30Speaker 1: with him because it's just horrifying. So seeing you like that.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Anyways, but I'm my vantage point.
- 15:39Speaker 1: We move on, We move on. So, searching for more leads,
- 15:43Speaker 1: they went back and spoke with Hannah's friends and found
- 15:47Speaker 1: that what seemed to be a friend that hears that
- 15:49Speaker 1: she seemed to be the last person to see her alive.
- 15:53Speaker 1: They saw the person saw her around lunchtime on January nineteenth.
- 15:58Speaker 1: The friend said that they hadn't seen or heard from
- 16:00Speaker 1: her since. They finally received the phone records of Hannah's
- 16:04Speaker 1: and found that her last calls and texts went out
- 16:06Speaker 1: around two thirty six pm that day to a friend
- 16:11Speaker 1: of hers. Now, this woman that she was texting was
- 16:14Speaker 1: a friend from high school that Hannah had recently begun
- 16:17Speaker 1: to hang out with again. So they head over to
- 16:19Speaker 1: her home to talk to her about Hannah because it
- 16:22Speaker 1: seems like she might have been the So we had
- 16:25Speaker 1: the friend that had lunch with her at around noon,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and then at two thirty six pm that same day,
- 16:30Speaker 1: she's texting this friend from high school, so possibly maybe
- 16:33Speaker 1: she's the last one that actually saw her or heard
- 16:37Speaker 1: from Hannah that day. So the woman tells police that
- 16:40Speaker 1: they were planning on going to run errand so Hannah
- 16:43Speaker 1: was going to come pick her up at her house.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And so the girl said that as she was looking
- 16:48Speaker 1: out the window waiting for Hannah to show up, she
- 16:51Speaker 1: saw a silver car setting out on the dirt road
- 16:53Speaker 1: near her home. They could live conn out in the
- 16:55Speaker 1: country outside of oh I forgot to mention they're in Gainesville, Florida. Well,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I don't know how I'm they're in Gainesville Florida, and
- 17:05Speaker 1: he's like, where the fuck are they? They're in Gainesville, Florida.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So this is this is a home that's you know outside,
- 17:12Speaker 1: more in the country area. So she has a dirt
- 17:15Speaker 1: road that's right out there by her property where she lives,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and so she sees this silver car sitting out there. Well,
- 17:23Speaker 1: all the car's doors were open, which is odd. So
- 17:26Speaker 1: she walks out to see what's going on, and as
- 17:29Speaker 1: she approaches, a white male stood up telling her to stop.
- 17:33Speaker 1: He yell stop, and he said that they were having sex.
- 17:37Speaker 1: So she feels like so she actually feels more embarrassed
- 17:41Speaker 1: on her part, you know, she's like, oh god, Like
- 17:43Speaker 1: she she turns around and just heads back to her
- 17:45Speaker 1: house because she's like, oh my.
- 17:46Speaker 2: God, how were these people having sexy? Two three o'clock
- 17:50Speaker 2: in the afternoon.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So after she gets back to the house, she receives
- 17:54Speaker 1: a text from Hannah canceling their plans. So this is
- 17:56Speaker 1: all very strange now, this friend act. She hadn't seen
- 18:00Speaker 1: Hannah in person in years. They had just started I
- 18:03Speaker 1: guess maybe through social media and texting, had started their
- 18:07Speaker 1: friendship up again. So she didn't really even know what
- 18:10Speaker 1: she drove. So She didn't know if that was her car.
- 18:12Speaker 1: She didn't know any of it. She just was tooking it,
- 18:15Speaker 1: taking it at face value. This friend she hadn't talked
- 18:18Speaker 1: to and seen in person since high school, cancels on
- 18:21Speaker 1: her last minute. She's like, Okay, weird situation happening outside
- 18:24Speaker 1: my house. There's people living sex, but you know, typical Tuesday.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So please show her a picture of Hannah's car, and
- 18:32Speaker 1: she says it looks very similar to the one that
- 18:34Speaker 1: she saw parked outside that day, so it's all coming
- 18:38Speaker 1: together a little bit more for police.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Police bring the woman in for questioning and she walks
- 18:44Speaker 2: them through the day. She really has no other information
- 18:49Speaker 2: on the man that she saw, but says as she
- 18:52Speaker 2: started hearing the news about Hannah, she was starting to
- 18:54Speaker 2: grow concern that maybe the silver car that she saw
- 18:58Speaker 2: that day was in fact Hannah's.
- 19:00Speaker 1: What are these people do they not watch Dateline or anything?
- 19:02Speaker 1: I would be so like up in this all this business.
- 19:06Speaker 1: If I a friend of mine that was supposed to
- 19:08Speaker 1: see me the day that she went missing was in
- 19:13Speaker 1: the news, what do you know? Yes, I mean you've
- 19:17Speaker 1: heard about my time I turned in those people.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Yes, ever heard multiple times yes, did you catch the
- 19:25Speaker 2: person that stole the Honda Civic last night?
- 19:27Speaker 1: No, I didn't, But we're on it in the neighborhood group.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I've been I've been watching the updates about it.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I have nobody on the ring cameras well.
- 19:36Speaker 1: People have been posting it. But the problem is these
- 19:38Speaker 1: cameras aren't good enough to actually get any license plate
- 19:40Speaker 1: numbers or see anything. Like what is the point of
- 19:43Speaker 1: the cameras? They can't see They're not clear enough to
- 19:46Speaker 1: actually see who the person is or anything, especially if
- 19:50Speaker 1: they're out in the streets. I'm just hoping because of
- 19:53Speaker 1: where we're at on the corner. I don't think anybody
- 19:55Speaker 1: we don't normally get any have any problems because.
- 19:58Speaker 2: There's way too much true, there's way too much.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Traffic going near as you. Guys can probably hear it
- 20:03Speaker 1: all the time, yes, in the background.
- 20:05Speaker 2: And that's just the stuff that we haven't cut out.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, at some point we just give up murders,
- 20:10Speaker 1: Like if it they could just hear the noise with us.
- 20:12Speaker 2: We're gonna have to put some styrofolm in that one
- 20:14Speaker 2: do or something.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Oh after you want to get on chatty, you're and
- 20:18Speaker 2: tell me to move on, y Jesus Christ. After hearing
- 20:23Speaker 2: this story, police are convinced that the man she saw
- 20:26Speaker 2: that day is the one that took and harmed Hannah.
- 20:29Speaker 2: While they're continuing to look into the friend of Hannah's
- 20:33Speaker 2: into the friend of hands, into the friend of Hannah's story, fringe.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Into the fringe there was supposed to be a common Oh,
- 20:42Speaker 1: you're supposed to be.
- 20:43Speaker 2: A So the police were looking into Hannah's new friend's
- 20:47Speaker 2: story when they received a call from one of the
- 20:50Speaker 2: original people they had spoken to, Mister Nelson Armis. He
- 20:55Speaker 2: was the one with the bin number written in the
- 20:57Speaker 2: bag of Hannah's makeup bag. I guess or wasn't.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like a makeup type bag.
- 21:04Speaker 2: He tells police that he was actually with Hannah on
- 21:06Speaker 2: January nineteenth. He tells police that he had started a
- 21:10Speaker 2: relationship with Hannah despite being married.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah. He basically said that he called back into police
- 21:15Speaker 1: because he didn't realize how serious the situation was, so
- 21:19Speaker 1: he kind of was keeping whenever they initially talked to him.
- 21:22Speaker 1: He was obviously not going to divulge all that information
- 21:25Speaker 1: because he didn't realize how serious it was that she's
- 21:28Speaker 1: now it's like, oh shit.
- 21:29Speaker 2: She's actually there's something happened.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Yeah, something happened.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah. He's like, I can't be breaking up my marriage
- 21:35Speaker 2: over some girl that went shopping.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yeah. But now he's like, Okay, I need to be
- 21:40Speaker 1: honest with police and tell them what I actually know because.
- 21:43Speaker 2: If they find out later, it's going to be bad.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Now, he says the last time he saw Hannah was
- 21:50Speaker 2: around one pm on January nineteenth. He said he had
- 21:53Speaker 2: met her there, but they had an.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Argument at the He met her at the motel.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, met her at the mote tell they had an argument.
- 22:02Speaker 2: He left, Hannah followed him and begged for him to
- 22:05Speaker 2: come back. Now she had followed him. She was in
- 22:08Speaker 2: her car following him.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So he's took off on foot because he didn't have
- 22:11Speaker 1: a car.
- 22:12Speaker 2: He's like okay, So he gets in the car. They're
- 22:15Speaker 2: driving around. Nelson says that at some point Hannah slapped
- 22:20Speaker 2: him and he demanded, he demandaged that she pull over
- 22:26Speaker 2: and let him out of the car.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I'm sorry I had to help ste with that because
- 22:29Speaker 1: for some reason his brain stopped functioning. Whenever this portion
- 22:33Speaker 1: of the story comes around.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Yeah, my finger got caught in the wedding ring and
- 22:38Speaker 2: I just stopped thinking after them shut up?
- 22:40Speaker 1: What is that supposed to mean? What he says, don't
- 22:42Speaker 1: even know what that means.
- 22:44Speaker 2: He says that she did let him out and he
- 22:47Speaker 2: began walking back toward Gainesville. And now this was troubling
- 22:51Speaker 2: information to police, Yeah, because.
- 22:53Speaker 1: It they were. They were again out very far outside Gainsville.
- 22:56Speaker 1: This is not just like a quick like, oh I
- 22:58Speaker 1: just drove right past the city. I'm They're out.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Surprised how far you can walk when you're man?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Well so so because of how far they were him
- 23:08Speaker 1: telling him where she dropped him off, they really want
- 23:10Speaker 1: him to explain how he was able to get home
- 23:12Speaker 1: after being dropped off in the middle off in the
- 23:14Speaker 1: middle of nowhere. And so he starts telling them that
- 23:17Speaker 1: he what, why are you looking at me?
- 23:20Speaker 2: What? Because we're doing a podcast?
- 23:23Speaker 1: No, but what were you saying? How far you can
- 23:25Speaker 1: walk when you're mad? How far have you walked when
- 23:27Speaker 1: you were mad?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Women can usually be like a man in the car,
- 23:31Speaker 2: I'm walking, I'd say.
- 23:35Speaker 1: In our younger relationship, I said that a couple of times,
- 23:38Speaker 1: and you're like, stop being stupid, You're not getting out
- 23:43Speaker 1: of the car. You know, I'm not. I. I've calmed
- 23:51Speaker 1: down quite a bit in our in my as i've
- 23:54Speaker 1: gotten older. But I used to be a bit of
- 23:58Speaker 1: I still am a bit of a I go for
- 24:00Speaker 1: zero to sixteen sometimes, but I used to do it
- 24:04Speaker 1: a lot whenever means due first started dating. It's a
- 24:08Speaker 1: miracle we're still together.
- 24:09Speaker 2: So I just annoying you.
- 24:11Speaker 1: There was some trials. There's some trials and tribulations there
- 24:15Speaker 1: at the beginning anyway. So I never actually got out
- 24:20Speaker 1: of the car though.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I mean, I guess if I would have pulled over
- 24:23Speaker 2: and lunch shat, you would have just a purple point.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Maybe you should have, but you were like, you're not.
- 24:28Speaker 1: You weren't gonna do that because it was unsafe. Okay,
- 24:32Speaker 1: So back home? Oh so how he got back home
- 24:36Speaker 1: after he was dropped off, And he says that he
- 24:38Speaker 1: hitchhiked he where he could, so he got as far
- 24:42Speaker 1: as he could, and then it was about the last
- 24:45Speaker 1: thirteen miles. You know, we could have lied better. The
- 24:49Speaker 1: last thirteen miles he walked. And so they're trying to
- 24:53Speaker 1: figure out this story of his So they pull up
- 24:55Speaker 1: his phone records and find that he was back home
- 24:59Speaker 1: just to two hours after he said he left Hannah.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So even at a very fast pace.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Man, he ran like a half marathon in two hours.
- 25:09Speaker 1: He would have had it would have taken him four
- 25:11Speaker 1: hours just to walk, just to walk the thirteen miles,
- 25:14Speaker 1: not including the hitchhiking thing that he's got going on. Yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 1: I think marathon runners can run a marathon in like
- 25:22Speaker 1: two hours, but this.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Fella, well that was a half marathon. He's good.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah, So so anyway, so they're really starting to question
- 25:31Speaker 1: his whole timeline and everything. They also find out when
- 25:36Speaker 1: cross referencing Hannah's phone activity with his, they find that
- 25:40Speaker 1: her activity stopped at the same time that he says
- 25:43Speaker 1: he was with her, so all cell phone activity. They
- 25:47Speaker 1: continue to press Nelson for a reason for all the
- 25:50Speaker 1: time discrepancies, and he just doesn't have a good response. Now,
- 25:55Speaker 1: while Nelson was at the police station, Hannah's friend was
- 25:58Speaker 1: there also answering some more questions. Now she actually it
- 26:02Speaker 1: was just by a happened chance. She she happened chance
- 26:05Speaker 1: or happenstance.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Happenstance, Okay, it happened. Good God, What have I done
- 26:09Speaker 2: to myself?
- 26:12Speaker 1: I feel like happen chance is a better a better term, now,
- 26:16Speaker 1: just stop by a happenstance. She's leaving and she passes
- 26:23Speaker 1: by Nelson and she immediately recognizes him as the man
- 26:27Speaker 1: that she saw outside her home the day that Hannah disappeared.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Which also, I was watching some show and this happened,
- 26:35Speaker 1: and it can cause the witness to be unreliable, they're saying,
- 26:40Speaker 1: because it's like they're they saw someone at the police
- 26:44Speaker 1: station and then they just their brain connects the two,
- 26:47Speaker 1: you know, and it it what's the word influences there, uh,
- 26:53Speaker 1: what they remember and stuff. So I don't know if
- 26:56Speaker 1: this was allowed in a quarter off that this whole
- 26:59Speaker 1: thing happened. But what was most important to police was
- 27:02Speaker 1: that she did recognize Nelson as the guy that she
- 27:06Speaker 1: saw that said stop, we're having sex. So with this information,
- 27:10Speaker 1: police confront Nelson and he continues to deny any involvement. Now,
- 27:15Speaker 1: without any more information, police must let Nelson go. But
- 27:19Speaker 1: at this point they're, you know, this is their guy,
- 27:22Speaker 1: like they've got they just need more evidence to connect
- 27:25Speaker 1: him to Hannah's disappearance. Not to mention they still don't
- 27:29Speaker 1: know where Hannah is. They don't have a body. They
- 27:31Speaker 1: don't have anything, So they start looking more into Nelson
- 27:34Speaker 1: and they go to his social media and they found
- 27:36Speaker 1: where he commented on a girl's post talking about how
- 27:40Speaker 1: he had hung out with her that evening or something
- 27:43Speaker 1: referencing that. So they go and speak to this girl
- 27:46Speaker 1: and she says that she saw him at the Walmart
- 27:49Speaker 1: that night around nine pm. This is the January nineteenth,
- 27:52Speaker 1: the last time they know anyone saw Hannah. So they
- 27:56Speaker 1: pull the Walmart security photos up. It's always the Walmart
- 27:59Speaker 1: securities that gets people. Why do people go to Walmart?
- 28:03Speaker 2: They evidently got better cameras than we got in our neighborhood.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Yes, Like, I don't know why everybody goes to the Walmart.
- 28:08Speaker 1: It's the one place that definitely has lots of cameras.
- 28:11Speaker 2: That's where you got to buy your post murder supplies at.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yeah, so they yeah, So they they pull up the
- 28:18Speaker 1: Walmart security cameras and they see Nelson entering the Walmart.
- 28:23Speaker 1: They then look at the camera footage from the parking
- 28:26Speaker 1: lot and they find that he is driving Dun Dun duh,
- 28:30Speaker 1: a silver car now just like Hannah's. However, he doesn't
- 28:35Speaker 1: leave in this car, so he pulls up in the car,
- 28:37Speaker 1: parks it, walks into the walmart and then leaves. But
- 28:41Speaker 1: he leaves in another car. Someone comes and picks him
- 28:45Speaker 1: up in an El Camino. Nice, So that car, the
- 28:48Speaker 1: silver car sits there for four days, and then finally
- 28:52Speaker 1: the guy in the El Camino he comes back and
- 28:55Speaker 1: I believe he was with Nelson, and they come and
- 28:59Speaker 1: they pick up that silver car and they drive it off.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Now, the El Camino, which is a car that wants
- 29:05Speaker 2: to be a truck, was a distinct car, and they
- 29:09Speaker 2: were able to track it down to the owner. They
- 29:11Speaker 2: speak to him and he says that Nelson had asked
- 29:13Speaker 2: him to take the car to the salag yard with
- 29:16Speaker 2: specific instructions to crush the car when they were done
- 29:19Speaker 2: stripping it for parts.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're going to pick somebody to do to
- 29:23Speaker 1: come with you to pick up the car, why would
- 29:25Speaker 1: you pick someone who has an El Camino, Like pick
- 29:27Speaker 1: a more you're talking about, No, a car that's not
- 29:32Speaker 1: notice Yes, I mean they can literally run El Camino
- 29:34Speaker 1: for the city and probably come up with two people.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yeah in twenty sixteen, Yeah probably.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Now police head to the scrapyard and they were able
- 29:43Speaker 2: to get to the car before it was even stripped
- 29:45Speaker 2: for parts. They tested the vehicle and they found blood
- 29:48Speaker 2: in the trunk which matched Hannah's. At this point, police
- 29:52Speaker 2: knew that Hannah was gone. Now, with all this evidence,
- 29:55Speaker 2: they go to Nelson's home with the search warrant. In
- 29:59Speaker 2: the backyard, they find burn piles with car mats and
- 30:01Speaker 2: clothing that had been burned. They bring him back in
- 30:05Speaker 2: for questioning, but he is still not admitting to what
- 30:09Speaker 2: he Obviously did you think he did?
- 30:12Speaker 1: All this evidence and he's still like, oh, I don't know.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I didn't have And they're like, dude, there's we have
- 30:18Speaker 1: the burn piles in your backyard with the floor mats.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Oh well that's It's like, come on, you're not even
- 30:24Speaker 1: good at this.
- 30:25Speaker 2: No, thirteen miles and two hours coming.
- 30:27Speaker 1: What a dumb ass.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Now he asks for a lawyer and he stops talking.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Probably best for him, he's an idiot.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yes, police are preparing to arrest Nelson and charge him
- 30:38Speaker 2: with Hannah's murder. When they received another tip about the
- 30:41Speaker 2: location of the murder weapon. Nelson told someone that he
- 30:45Speaker 2: threw a knife out on the side of the road.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Police go to this site and they find a blood
- 30:52Speaker 2: covered knife.
- 30:53Speaker 1: You know, who tells someone that? And he also runs
- 30:56Speaker 1: his mouth all the time. Who goes and tells someone
- 30:59Speaker 1: that they that I disposed of a knife criminals?
- 31:02Speaker 2: Is stupid. Now, with this additional information, Nelson is arrested
- 31:07Speaker 2: while in jail awaiting his earring. He starts talking to
- 31:10Speaker 2: other inmates because, like Kara said, he can't quit right
- 31:14Speaker 2: in his fucking mouth. So Nelson is in jail telling
- 31:18Speaker 2: these other inmates what he has done. He hasn't even
- 31:20Speaker 2: gone to trial yet.
- 31:22Speaker 1: No, he's just sitting in the county jail right.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Just sitting in county waiting on a here he's up.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Basically on an episode of Locked Up. Okay, that's what
- 31:29Speaker 1: they film before they even get to the prisons.
- 31:33Speaker 2: So you got all these other inmates looking for a
- 31:36Speaker 2: way to plea out.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yes, or some of them might not even be like
- 31:41Speaker 1: you know, like a lot of them get pulled up
- 31:42Speaker 1: on charge, like brought in on charges and then they're dropped.
- 31:45Speaker 1: So these guys are just maybe just sitting in there.
- 31:48Speaker 1: These are not hardened criminals that are in prison that
- 31:51Speaker 1: have been convicted and are in their like lifers or anything.
- 31:53Speaker 1: These are just could be old regular Joe got picked
- 31:56Speaker 1: up for use in public.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Or or somebody's in there for a burglary at charge
- 32:01Speaker 2: that could get him some serious time. And he's like, hey,
- 32:03Speaker 2: I he cooked me up. I'll tell you about what
- 32:05Speaker 2: this dude told me.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he's this guy's an idiot. He has not
- 32:09Speaker 1: watched any anything, and.
- 32:12Speaker 2: He's worried about his wife finding about him having sex
- 32:14Speaker 2: with Hannah.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's also just a strange situation that I
- 32:20Speaker 1: just I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around
- 32:22Speaker 1: the fact that he the guy is having relations do relations, yes,
- 32:30Speaker 1: with Hannah who is five months pregnant, so she's.
- 32:33Speaker 2: With another pregnant at this point.
- 32:35Speaker 1: With another man's baby, and or is it and vice versa.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I mean, I'm assuming it's we don't know for you, Well,
- 32:44Speaker 1: we don't know for sure, so I'm it's it's a strange,
- 32:47Speaker 1: it's all around strange situation. And so I'm I now
- 32:50Speaker 1: see you. I mean, he he is panicky that his
- 32:53Speaker 1: wife's gonna find out, because if she finds out, she's
- 32:56Speaker 1: really gonna be pissed. Because this is even like weirder
- 33:00Speaker 1: than just a normal affair.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Some people like to get the freak one.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Well, I know based on that last episode we did
- 33:08Speaker 1: about the not the not, the one before, the one
- 33:11Speaker 1: before with the husband pimping out his wife on the
- 33:15Speaker 1: on the Craigslist and driving men around the in the
- 33:18Speaker 1: mini van and.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Stuff while they're getting it on in the back there's people.
- 33:22Speaker 1: That are no, there's like guys that are into like
- 33:24Speaker 1: pregnant women's doew, That's what I hear. So I'm sure
- 33:27Speaker 1: there's an only fans dedicated to that. I'm sure there's
- 33:30Speaker 1: a whole porn hubs section dedicated here.
- 33:33Speaker 2: In a couple of months, we'll start one for you.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, what is wrong with you?
- 33:38Speaker 2: All right?
- 33:38Speaker 1: So, getting back to where we were, Stude tell me,
- 33:41Speaker 1: so he's talking to all these inmates and everything, and
- 33:44Speaker 1: he tells one that how he killed Hannah. He says
- 33:47Speaker 1: that he stabbed her in the neck, and then I mean,
- 33:50Speaker 1: just horrific how he's talking about this. But he says
- 33:52Speaker 1: that he dismembered her body and then tried to burn her.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That's what happened in the backyard, and then when that
- 33:59Speaker 1: didn't work, he decides to take and dispose of her
- 34:03Speaker 1: somewhere else. He tells the inmate that Hannah, like what
- 34:08Speaker 1: we suspected was threatening to tell his wife about the affair,
- 34:12Speaker 1: because obviously, if he's leaving her and she's upset how
- 34:15Speaker 1: she was chasing him down, she's probably gonna throw anything
- 34:17Speaker 1: out there, like can you leave me, I'm telling your wife.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I'm telling your wife, you know, trying to get him
- 34:22Speaker 1: to come back and stay. So he says, that's when
- 34:26Speaker 1: he orse that's why she wrote the VEN number apparently
- 34:29Speaker 1: down she got the VEN number out of his car.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I guess to have some sort of proof that she
- 34:35Speaker 1: was with, you know, like she could say, if I
- 34:37Speaker 1: wasn't really telling the truth that I was with your husband,
- 34:40Speaker 1: how would I have his VEN number?
- 34:42Speaker 2: Because it's on the windshoulder of be in a car.
- 34:43Speaker 2: You can go in there and look on the dash.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Okay, well start, I don't know. I'm guessing that's just
- 34:48Speaker 1: what she was thinking. I don't fucking know.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:50Speaker 1: So then he says he snaps and he kills her.
- 34:53Speaker 1: She's twenty three. She probably doesn't know. I mean I
- 34:56Speaker 1: didn't know either. Sometimes you got to open the door.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You just got the door, You just got the VIN
- 35:04Speaker 1: number off my jeep, and you had to open the door,
- 35:07Speaker 1: so shut the fuck up. So anyway, so you eat Stewart.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So anyway, So he says that he snaps and he
- 35:15Speaker 1: kills her as she's since she's threatening to out him
- 35:19Speaker 1: off of this affair. He then tells the inmate where
- 35:22Speaker 1: he disposed of her body. So the inmates again, ticket
- 35:28Speaker 1: ticket out of jail. I'll show you where the body is.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I'll tell you he dropped this grand larceny, this auto
- 35:34Speaker 2: theft or whatever you got.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I just told that Hanta Civica, that neighborhood. I will
- 35:39Speaker 1: tell you where that body is and if you will
- 35:42Speaker 1: let me out. So he tells them where they're at,
- 35:45Speaker 1: where he said the general area was, and so because
- 35:48Speaker 1: it's out in the woods, they head out to that location.
- 35:50Speaker 1: It does take them two days, but they do find
- 35:52Speaker 1: Hannah's body lying near some standing water near a bridge,
- 35:56Speaker 1: and they are able to confirm that it is her
- 35:58Speaker 1: through DNA testing. So this sob killed a pregnant woman,
- 36:05Speaker 1: viciously stabbing her over an affair, and then goes and
- 36:09Speaker 1: runs his mouth and like just nothing makes sense. He's
- 36:13Speaker 1: a he's a monster. So in August of twenty nineteen,
- 36:18Speaker 1: Nelson Armis went on a two week trial, and after
- 36:22Speaker 1: just six hours of deliberating, they found him guilty of
- 36:25Speaker 1: first degree murder and he was sentenced to life in prison.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I'm surprised he didn't get hit with the You know
- 36:30Speaker 1: a lot of times when they're pregnant or something, they'll
- 36:34Speaker 1: get hit with two.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm surprised they didn't get the death penalty in Florida.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I know, I guess because they're saying because he said
- 36:41Speaker 1: he snapped, and so it's a different you know, like
- 36:44Speaker 1: it's not premeditated.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Well, I got him on first grade martyr.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I don't know, but I think there's two different things.
- 36:51Speaker 1: You think we should know this stuff by now to
- 36:53Speaker 1: do this for so many years, but we don't. We don't.
- 36:56Speaker 1: That would take some effort in.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Mind, I guess we would have to know different state laws, yes,
- 37:01Speaker 2: and different what would necessitate a death penalty?
- 37:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like they have to have premeditation for
- 37:09Speaker 1: the death penalty. I feel like and it sounds like.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I don't know, it sounds like the heinous crimes even
- 37:14Speaker 2: if it didn't premeditated, would.
- 37:16Speaker 1: You well, I'm just surprised they didn't warranted knocking with
- 37:19Speaker 1: two two murder charges. But anyways, all right, so that's
- 37:24Speaker 1: our case out of Florida this week. STU, do you
- 37:27Speaker 1: have a yell need Jesus?
- 37:28Speaker 2: Oh, yes, I got one. It's a lovely one. For
- 37:32Speaker 2: arrested in car insurance scam. Clearly a human in a
- 37:36Speaker 2: bear suit Florida, not Florida.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Uh, not Florida.
- 37:41Speaker 2: For arrested in California.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I about to say there's no bears in Florida. I mean,
- 37:45Speaker 1: not those kind of bears, if you know what I made.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Oh they got bears in Florida.
- 37:50Speaker 1: What they don't.
- 37:51Speaker 2: I'm sure there's black bears in Florida's I.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Was talking about, like the bears, like the the.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Ones that decadence.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Yeah, the what are they on the what are the bears?
- 38:02Speaker 2: The otters and the stars? I don't know.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I don't know. Whatever Modern Families.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Said coming to us from USA today by Natalie Alone.
- 38:13Speaker 1: We screwed that up. I'm sure.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I'm sure I did. Alundy A Lund, I don't know.
- 38:18Speaker 2: November fourteenth, twenty twenty four. So this just happened. Officials
- 38:22Speaker 2: arrested for people in California this week after state investigators
- 38:26Speaker 2: said they committed insurance fraud by claiming an animal damaged
- 38:31Speaker 2: their vehicles, when in reality it was someone wearing a
- 38:34Speaker 2: bear costume. Yes. Los Angeles area residents Reuben Tamrazane Okay
- 38:44Speaker 2: twenty six, Arrarat Chick Hardword thirty nine by Hey Mura
- 38:51Speaker 2: Hardword thirty two, and al Fia Zuckerman thirty nine each
- 38:57Speaker 2: charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy in connection to reported scam.
- 39:03Speaker 2: The state the Department of Insurance announced that's a lot
- 39:07Speaker 2: of stuff the state agencies in the investigation began after
- 39:11Speaker 2: an insurance company suspected a fraud earlier this year. According
- 39:16Speaker 2: to a news release, the suspects told their insurance company
- 39:20Speaker 2: that a bear entered their vehicle and caused interior damage
- 39:26Speaker 2: to the vehicle of their Honda Civic.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Oh, it's all coming full circle.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they were trying to uh, trying to get you know,
- 39:36Speaker 2: two thousand dollars in reimbursement.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Yeah, actually told me that they act stole the Honda
- 39:41Speaker 1: Civic here, and you were like, yeah, it's those are
- 39:44Speaker 1: really I.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Was making that up because this is actually a twenty
- 39:49Speaker 2: ten rolls Royce Ghost, which I think at twenty twenty
- 39:54Speaker 2: four is worth about three hundred and fifty grand or something.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Like that and had what year was this, twenty ten? Wow? Okay,
- 40:01Speaker 2: so yeah, we're probably talking about two hundred and eighty
- 40:03Speaker 2: three hundred thousand dollars car at least.
- 40:06Speaker 1: You know, I saw one of those driving down the
- 40:07Speaker 1: interstate one time, headed towards report, and I was thinking,
- 40:12Speaker 1: what are they doing?
- 40:14Speaker 2: Just driving going to the thing? Yeah, I'd prefer a
- 40:20Speaker 2: Rolls Royce Phantom, but the ghost looks kind of nice.
- 40:25Speaker 2: So anyway, they caused interior damage to the vehicle on
- 40:28Speaker 2: January twenty eighth in the Lake Arrowhead, Very Nice Place,
- 40:30Speaker 2: an unincorporated community in the San Bernardino Mountains. The suspects
- 40:37Speaker 2: also provided video footage to the insurance company, which showed
- 40:41Speaker 2: the alleged bear in the vehicle. According to the news release,
- 40:45Speaker 2: upon further scrutiny of the video, the investigation determined that
- 40:49Speaker 2: the bear was actually a person in a bear costume.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Detectives found two more insurance claims with two different insurance
- 40:58Speaker 2: companies from the suspects, with the same date of loss
- 41:02Speaker 2: the same location. Each claim involved two vehicles, a twenty
- 41:07Speaker 2: fifteen Mercedes G sixty three and a twenty twenty two
- 41:13Speaker 2: Mercedes E three fifty, and the suspects also allegedly used
- 41:17Speaker 2: a bear costume to make it look like a bear
- 41:19Speaker 2: also entered and damaged those vehicles.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Did they take pictures or videos of the person?
- 41:25Speaker 2: I just told you that the video, and I saw
- 41:28Speaker 2: you looking at your phone while they're doing it.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I know, I'm sorry. I'm not sorry, but I feel
- 41:32Speaker 1: like that's what you got to say.
- 41:35Speaker 2: They also reportedly provided video footage to the other insurance
- 41:38Speaker 2: companies in connection to those claims. To prove it was
- 41:42Speaker 2: not actually a bear in the video, the state agency
- 41:45Speaker 2: had a biologist from California Department of Fish and Wildlife
- 41:50Speaker 2: review the three bear videos. The biologist, investigators reported, determined
- 41:57Speaker 2: it was clearly a human in a bear suit.
- 41:59Speaker 1: You know what, They probably cost him more to rent
- 42:01Speaker 1: out this biologist from whatever per hour, But they were like,
- 42:04Speaker 1: you know what, we're trying to prove it point here.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to prove a point. Detectives then obtained
- 42:08Speaker 2: a search warrant and during the search of the suspects home,
- 42:11Speaker 2: found a costume bearsuit. Officials arrested all four suspects on Wednesday.
- 42:17Speaker 2: According to the release, insurance companies lost nearly one hundred
- 42:20Speaker 2: and forty two thousand dollars due to fraud allegedly committed
- 42:24Speaker 2: by the suspects. Glendale Police Department, California Highway Patrol assisted
- 42:30Speaker 2: blah blah blah. Sam Bernadido prosecuting pending court dates. Not
- 42:37Speaker 2: immediately known whether the suspects have obtained attorneys. So if
- 42:41Speaker 2: you're an attorney and you want to go into the
- 42:43Speaker 2: courtroom and listen to this foolishness.
- 42:46Speaker 1: But why they were in jail though, They sat next
- 42:48Speaker 1: to a man who completely divulged his entire crime and
- 42:51Speaker 1: now they're using that to get out. Yes, just kidding,
- 42:56Speaker 1: but that's how dumb are Yes, all right, well that
- 43:01Speaker 1: is our y'all need Jesus and our case, and we're
- 43:05Speaker 1: gonna go watch this Mike Tyson thing that finally Netflix
- 43:09Speaker 1: needs to get it together though, because it's like Buffer
- 43:11Speaker 1: and real bad in there. I mean it looked like
- 43:13Speaker 1: I took my contacts out when they're trying when they're
- 43:15Speaker 1: doing this stuff, Netflix is like, this was your big
- 43:18Speaker 1: moment and you're screwing it up.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I know, it says frustrating, like back in the day
- 43:22Speaker 2: when you're trying to watch porn on.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Dial right, what is wrong with you? What is wrong
- 43:30Speaker 1: with you? All right, we gotta go. All right, well
- 43:33Speaker 1: we may We're not gonna have an episode. We may
- 43:36Speaker 1: have an episode next week. We're not sure. But check
- 43:39Speaker 1: out check out the page and you can see check
- 43:42Speaker 1: out the Instagram and stuff and you can see. Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 1: when to rob our house. Look, there's still vehicles anyways
- 43:48Speaker 1: do it doesn't matter anyway, So I guess we will
- 43:51Speaker 1: see you next time. By everyone, say bye Stu bye.
- 43:55Speaker 2: You know it's bad purstage shots. Find nothing else.
- 44:03Speaker 1: It's working and my hands bringing and burning and a
- 44:10Speaker 1: stick of it's worrying
- 44:13Speaker 2: Things I can'
