- 0:32Speaker 2: Oh, brother? You got me? Somebody get my wife and
- 0:35Speaker 2: kids on the phone. Well this was a really long
- 0:39Speaker 2: three count, but just like some had a kick out
- 0:42Speaker 2: at two point ninety nine or in some mintence's three
- 0:45Speaker 2: point zero one, welcome to Chuck's Cantina. I am your
- 0:49Speaker 2: favorite barman host whatever the hell you want to call me.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Chuck still got that line right, So yeah, let's get
- 0:55Speaker 2: to the chase where the folk. Have I been no
- 1:00Speaker 2: grapes about it, apologize, just I've had a lot going on.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Everything's good. Just been trying to enjoy the summer. As
- 1:07Speaker 2: I said last time, you're doing some voice acting stuff,
- 1:10Speaker 2: trying to really get my head. I'm going full full
- 1:13Speaker 2: head dive into that as well house stuff. Lovely wife
- 1:17Speaker 2: came home as well as our lovely dog. So it
- 1:19Speaker 2: was just it's been a crazy it's crazy to say,
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's been a crazy couple of months already since I
- 1:23Speaker 2: was last time here. So back to the weekly schedule programming.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Didn't you say that episode? Yeah? I think I did
- 1:29Speaker 2: when I did the ball Arena and all the other
- 1:32Speaker 2: serp review Oh yeah, and or it's a pretty pretty
- 1:34Speaker 2: good show. You'll probably check it out. You haven't watched
- 1:36Speaker 2: it anyway, and was good too. Anyway, let's get right
- 1:40Speaker 2: to it. Ooh, man, hold on, that is really really good.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I gotta make sure I get my notes here. Put
- 1:52Speaker 2: right to it. What are we drinking this evening? So uh,
- 1:56Speaker 2: if you're listened to the top of the show, or
- 1:58Speaker 2: if you didn't read the tide of today's episode, well
- 2:02Speaker 2: kind of explains what's in there. We'll be doing a
- 2:04Speaker 2: slurp reviews. I just got back from seeing a film
- 2:08Speaker 2: called some Fantastic Film. If you will, I'll probably be
- 2:14Speaker 2: one of ten times I'll say that joke a little
- 2:16Speaker 2: spoiler in terms of how I thought the film went.
- 2:19Speaker 2: But yeah, we'll be doing a short review of the
- 2:23Speaker 2: new Marvel film Fantastic for spoiler not for that, be
- 2:26Speaker 2: spoilers later. I have not seen Superman yet, and I'm
- 2:30Speaker 2: kicking myself in the asks because I heard it was decent,
- 2:32Speaker 2: all right, not even decent, really good, just having a
- 2:36Speaker 2: chance got to it, you know, just just life, just
- 2:38Speaker 2: how life goes. Just give like I said, quick scope,
- 2:41Speaker 2: wife came home, dog came home. We had a good
- 2:43Speaker 2: to a couple of weeks. We did christ in July
- 2:44Speaker 2: with our friends. That was always fun. We did other stuff.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I've gone visit my parents a couple of times. I
- 2:50Speaker 2: went four wheeling, and I've gone more tattoos, and I'm
- 2:52Speaker 2: getting more tattoos this weekend. Because life and awesome decisions,
- 2:57Speaker 2: because it's our life. We do ever the hell we want.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Anyway to the main question and more question, So what
- 3:03Speaker 2: am I drinking? I am drinking whistle pig piggyback six
- 3:09Speaker 2: years bourbon whiskey. It's very good, very smooth. I been
- 3:15Speaker 2: trying to, Oh damn, that's good. I've been trying to.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I'm not saying drink more, just be like, oh hey,
- 3:24Speaker 2: we have this lovely barkhard of all these nice things
- 3:26Speaker 2: that friends have gotten us. And if you listen to
- 3:28Speaker 2: the podcasts, you know, majority of times, but I'm on here,
- 3:30Speaker 2: I usually don't drink. It's not even just not eve design.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Just like I like cold water, I like flavored water.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie. I also have a bubbly on
- 3:39Speaker 2: the side here just as a little uh, a little
- 3:42Speaker 2: not even chase her, just a little something to keep
- 3:44Speaker 2: my hydrated. It's bubbly orange cream. And by the way,
- 3:47Speaker 2: this is my least favorite flavor of the Bubblies. I
- 3:50Speaker 2: didn't buy it because of my least favorite. I bought
- 3:53Speaker 2: us to try it out. It's my least favorite, but
- 3:54Speaker 2: it's not terrible. I'm not a cream soda guy. So
- 3:56Speaker 2: anyway back to what I said I called months ago.
- 4:02Speaker 2: You listened to the intro of the show. That is
- 4:04Speaker 2: an edit I made. I had made that on paid
- 4:08Speaker 2: or anything like that. That was just something I just try
- 4:10Speaker 2: to do for someone, but they for a show called Solomonster.
- 4:13Speaker 2: You just defely checked that out. I was a little
- 4:16Speaker 2: bored one night actually when you track that. I was
- 4:19Speaker 2: a little bored at a few cocktails. So I was like, Hey,
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna make a funny edit of Hulk Hogan. Not
- 4:26Speaker 2: in a way to like be rude or anything like that,
- 4:28Speaker 2: just like a little funny thing because unfortunately the last
- 4:31Speaker 2: couple months he had been the news for some not
- 4:34Speaker 2: so I'm not gonna say not, I mean not personally,
- 4:37Speaker 2: not as bad as some things he had been saying
- 4:39Speaker 2: or that have happened in years past, but just in
- 4:42Speaker 2: wrestling fans will know called Hogan lives. So I made
- 4:46Speaker 2: his edit and I sent it to him, and we
- 4:49Speaker 2: had a couple of nice exchange matches because literally that
- 4:52Speaker 2: week he actually had made his own so we had
- 4:54Speaker 2: laugh about it. But I thought, well, I used I
- 4:56Speaker 2: made it, might as well use it here. But a
- 4:58Speaker 2: little bit of tribute because of Fortunately, the news today
- 5:02Speaker 2: was that Hulk Hogan has passed away. Terry boleya this
- 5:05Speaker 2: is real name, passed away the age of seventy one.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Fortunate to do a heart attack. If you've been in
- 5:12Speaker 2: social media, Fortunately in today's age, you're gonna be seeing
- 5:15Speaker 2: a lot of love messages, of a lot of great
- 5:18Speaker 2: messages of like I'm a wrestling fan because of this guy.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I'm a wrestler because of this guy. You're even gonna
- 5:24Speaker 2: see messages where if you're a wrestling fan, you're gonna go,
- 5:27Speaker 2: why is that guy making it writing a heart nice,
- 5:29Speaker 2: heartfelt message about Hulk Hogan considering all the things they
- 5:32Speaker 2: might this guy might have said about Hogan in the past.
- 5:36Speaker 2: So at the end of the day, we're all human
- 5:38Speaker 2: and not everyone is an asshole. So here's my stance
- 5:44Speaker 2: on it. Yes, have the last ten years for the
- 5:49Speaker 2: Hulks have been a little weird. Yes, have some things
- 5:52Speaker 2: come out about him that didn't make him look so
- 5:54Speaker 2: good in the limelight. Absolutely not. Have some more clarifications
- 6:00Speaker 2: on some of the stories he has told come out
- 6:02Speaker 2: where he also does not look good. Of course not.
- 6:03Speaker 2: But you know, at the end of the day, there
- 6:06Speaker 2: are certain things. There's that old expression, you know, when
- 6:10Speaker 2: you say, there's that old expression and now my phone's
- 6:13Speaker 2: going off, but going to a flag for that, there's
- 6:15Speaker 2: that old expression. And I probably should know this. I mean,
- 6:19Speaker 2: make sure Clinton Klak is night to hear about history,
- 6:24Speaker 2: and that's a pretty easy one to remember. Essentially, it's
- 6:28Speaker 2: history is written by the victors. A lot of people
- 6:32Speaker 2: want to rewrite history essential to write him out of wrestling.
- 6:35Speaker 2: The problem is you can love him, you can hate him,
- 6:41Speaker 2: but when it comes to wrestling, he's Michael Jordan. You
- 6:46Speaker 2: can't deny what he did. He under Vince McMahon's vision,
- 6:55Speaker 2: took that ball and ran with it, and he got
- 6:58Speaker 2: professional wrestling out of Bingal Hall's carnivals, which, by the way,
- 7:03Speaker 2: I you'ver been in wrestling showing a bingo hall, I
- 7:05Speaker 2: recommend it's a lot of fun. That's og patron about it.
- 7:08Speaker 2: We had a blast a couple we've gone to ore
- 7:09Speaker 2: like over the last couple years. Although we I've done
- 7:11Speaker 2: in a while. We need to do that now because
- 7:12Speaker 2: even better now we're thirty. But yeah, a lot of things,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you know, uh like totally losing my training fly her site.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Has been a long day when history is written by
- 7:26Speaker 2: the victors. Despite everything that's come out about him the
- 7:30Speaker 2: last ten years, you can't deny the fact of what
- 7:33Speaker 2: this guy did in wrestling. So I like to think
- 7:35Speaker 2: in terms of just what wrestling is. He is the
- 7:39Speaker 2: reason that a lot of what I like and what
- 7:43Speaker 2: I watch is present today. I'm not gonna say that
- 7:48Speaker 2: wrestling isn't a thing if he's not involved. I'm not
- 7:52Speaker 2: going to say to w doesn't exist exist if he
- 7:55Speaker 2: wasn't there. I'm just saying, in terms of the stratosphere
- 7:59Speaker 2: of war, he took it in the eighties. You can't
- 8:01Speaker 2: deny that. I mean, people might not write wrestling, but
- 8:07Speaker 2: I'm sure everyone in their grandmother has seen the classic
- 8:10Speaker 2: video of Hogan slamming the Giant. Yes, spoiler alert, ladies
- 8:15Speaker 2: and gentlemen, was that the first time Andre the Giant
- 8:17Speaker 2: was slammed. No, was Andre the Giant seven hundred and
- 8:23Speaker 2: fifty pounds or whatever he said in Chicago. No, which,
- 8:26Speaker 2: by the way, if you watch it on television, Jim
- 8:28Speaker 2: Ross even said he was full of shit in a
- 8:30Speaker 2: nicer way on television as he said that. But despite
- 8:36Speaker 2: all that, as those Hogan tales, as I alluded to earlier,
- 8:41Speaker 2: can't deny what he did, not even just for wrestling,
- 8:44Speaker 2: just in terms of for entertainment. I mean, the guy was
- 8:47Speaker 2: such a polarizing figure that, like Sidney Laupper and like
- 8:55Speaker 2: some of these other big Muhammad Alli was involved in
- 8:58Speaker 2: the first wrestle media because you know, Hogan had that
- 9:01Speaker 2: much star power, drawing power, He was in Rocky three, Thunderlips,
- 9:07Speaker 2: like all these things. In terms of pop culture in
- 9:11Speaker 2: the eighties, you could not deny like you had. Obviously
- 9:13Speaker 2: you had the Lakers, you had the Bears, you had
- 9:15Speaker 2: the Niners with their reign of terror. You had all
- 9:19Speaker 2: these things. But another thing you could not deny was
- 9:21Speaker 2: hul Cogan. And unfortunately, like I said, unfortunately, like the
- 9:27Speaker 2: legacy has been tainted. That's probably the best way to
- 9:31Speaker 2: say it, because what's happened in the last ten to fifteen years.
- 9:34Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, it's like you,
- 9:37Speaker 2: like whenever someone does pass away in a just health situation,
- 9:43Speaker 2: not in a negative way like some other wrestlers. I'm
- 9:45Speaker 2: not gonna get into that one. It's pretty obviously you
- 9:47Speaker 2: know what I'm talking about. You try to think of
- 9:49Speaker 2: the good, or you should think of the good, because
- 9:50Speaker 2: trying to think of negative shit, it's not healthy for anybody.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I was fortunate enough never met him. I was fortunate
- 9:59Speaker 2: to seen him once. Did I see him one? I know,
- 10:02Speaker 2: I've only seen him once. I don't think I ever
- 10:04Speaker 2: seen him more than once. Yeah, I never saw him
- 10:07Speaker 2: more than once, but was fortunateough to see him in
- 10:11Speaker 2: Chicago for his return March or end of February early
- 10:18Speaker 2: March two thousand and two. Everyone's seen. It's the famous
- 10:22Speaker 2: pro between him and Rock for the first time, and
- 10:24Speaker 2: like because he came the night before him and the
- 10:27Speaker 2: guys came out in WL they did this whole giant
- 10:29Speaker 2: schmads or they beat up Boston, not really like a
- 10:31Speaker 2: whole like, Hey, the Golden Goose, the essentially Babe. Yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 2: if anything, let me ever check it. I said Michael Jordan.
- 10:40Speaker 2: He's not Michael Jordan. He's Babe Ruth. When you think
- 10:43Speaker 2: of the essentially the birth of baseball, of Major League Baseball,
- 10:47Speaker 2: Babe Ruth is the first name that has to come
- 10:49Speaker 2: to mind. Regardless of what your opinion is, it's always
- 10:52Speaker 2: Babe Ruth. Even today when he would go who's agreeace
- 10:55Speaker 2: of all time? Babe Ruth is always in that discussion.
- 10:59Speaker 2: That's what a hull again is. He's Babe Ruth of
- 11:01Speaker 2: pro wrestling. So now going to what I was saying
- 11:04Speaker 2: didn't really get is like grandiose return at the pay
- 11:07Speaker 2: per view, just like him and the NW guys jumped
- 11:09Speaker 2: Austin Schma's been the next night in Chicago, he got
- 11:12Speaker 2: his solo time and it is one of the like
- 11:17Speaker 2: I hate and it's one of my top ten favorite
- 11:18Speaker 2: moments it mean of things I've seen, because it was
- 11:23Speaker 2: that hole, like, hey, this guy's been gone for let
- 11:26Speaker 2: me figure at the time, what was it nine years
- 11:29Speaker 2: he left nine to ten years prior went to the
- 11:32Speaker 2: competition almost destroyed the WWE. But then I'm not even
- 11:37Speaker 2: getting into the whole debacle of how WCW died. It's
- 11:39Speaker 2: only been told a thousand times. You can just type
- 11:43Speaker 2: in the death of WCW on YouTube and you'll find
- 11:46Speaker 2: one of one hundred productions that the w or random
- 11:48Speaker 2: YouTube channel has made. Spoiler They all are the same,
- 11:55Speaker 2: just a bunch of political bullshit, which is kind of funny,
- 11:58Speaker 2: especially in today's environment anyway. But yeah, that was a moment.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I'll never forget just how loud it was, how just
- 12:07Speaker 2: And again I know that it gets thrown a lot,
- 12:09Speaker 2: way too much the ore of it, just because, like
- 12:11Speaker 2: I said, like this was literally at that time, you
- 12:14Speaker 2: had essentially, in wrestling terms, you had the Michael Jordan,
- 12:18Speaker 2: the Magic Johnson's, the Shack. You had all those guys
- 12:21Speaker 2: in that system at once. But then you had Babe
- 12:24Speaker 2: Ruth was walking in and it just everything just stopped.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Everything just stopped, you know. His essentially his return was
- 12:33Speaker 2: only short lived. Think he was only back for like
- 12:35Speaker 2: what four months, and then he took a break, came
- 12:37Speaker 2: back for one medium he was pretty much done after that.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I like little like stints where he would just show
- 12:41Speaker 2: up for like a little pop here and there, But
- 12:44Speaker 2: it was just this moment of silence moment sounds just
- 12:47Speaker 2: a moment of just like everyone had forgotten everything that
- 12:50Speaker 2: had happened in the last ten years and we're just
- 12:52Speaker 2: happy to see Babe Ruth back in Yankee Stadium. That's
- 12:56Speaker 2: the best way to say it. Or help Babe Ruth
- 12:59Speaker 2: back in Fenomway popcause that's where he first was from.
- 13:04Speaker 2: So yeah, it is sad that he passed away. It's
- 13:12Speaker 2: like I said, just try not to just look up
- 13:15Speaker 2: Hull Cogan like highlights and stuff on you too is
- 13:17Speaker 2: unfortunately you look up any like Hull Cogan interviews or
- 13:20Speaker 2: Hull Colcan articles, all you're gonna see is half of
- 13:23Speaker 2: it is just negative. And again I mean unfortunately, Yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 2: can you talk about his entire legacy as Hull Hogan
- 13:32Speaker 2: just focused on our So no, because actually in some
- 13:34Speaker 2: of some of the legacies tainted to buy some of
- 13:35Speaker 2: stuff he did politic and allegedly with some of the
- 13:38Speaker 2: decisions he made up. I mean, as I literally just
- 13:40Speaker 2: look up any video, just look up star K ninety
- 13:43Speaker 2: seven and yeah and Bash at the Beach two thousand.
- 13:46Speaker 2: It's all I need to say, and you'll have a
- 13:48Speaker 2: thousand more videos to look at of why shit was weird?
- 13:56Speaker 2: But again, in my opinion is like, is he and
- 14:01Speaker 2: my Mount Rushmore. No, but like if there's like a
- 14:03Speaker 2: if you do, certainly, just like a Mount Rushmore, w
- 14:05Speaker 2: he has to be on it because without him, there
- 14:08Speaker 2: is no awesome. Without him, there help Without him, there's
- 14:10Speaker 2: no Dwayne the Rock Johnson. It's just a fact because yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 2: sure the Rocks dad was a wrestler. The Rock's grandfather
- 14:20Speaker 2: was a wrestler. But like Hull, Cogan has essentially put essentially,
- 14:26Speaker 2: hul Cogan made essentially like how Walt Disney made Walt Disney,
- 14:29Speaker 2: how George Lucas made Star Wars, hulll Cogan made ww Sure,
- 14:34Speaker 2: vinceick Man created ww but in order to create In
- 14:37Speaker 2: order for George Lucas to create Star Wars, he had
- 14:39Speaker 2: to create Darth Vader. In order for Walt Disney to
- 14:41Speaker 2: create Disney, he had to create Mickey Mouse. And for
- 14:45Speaker 2: vincick Man to create WWF, he had to create hul Cogan. So, uh,
- 14:52Speaker 2: this one goes out to the Hawks. No, I am
- 14:54Speaker 2: not drinking his beer. I know I did like a drink.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Short review did not like it. Everyone has their opinion.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Actually I can't remember who I know. I talked to
- 15:04Speaker 2: someone who actually actually thought it wasn't that bad. But regardless,
- 15:11Speaker 2: you see a wrestling fan, just give him a little
- 15:13Speaker 2: ear pose. Just put your hand to your ear, act
- 15:15Speaker 2: like you're trying to listen, like you know what I mean. Again,
- 15:18Speaker 2: as I've said, I'm proud to be part of these
- 15:20Speaker 2: two fandoms. But I think there it's like my catchphrase
- 15:22Speaker 2: at this point, I think I am part of the
- 15:24Speaker 2: two most awesome but also yet toxic fandoms in all
- 15:28Speaker 2: the world, that being wrestling in Star Wars, and we
- 15:31Speaker 2: need to get better about it. Obviously the last couple
- 15:33Speaker 2: of Star Wars has gotten a lot better with especially
- 15:35Speaker 2: That's what happens when when this stuff is good, everyone
- 15:38Speaker 2: is happy, everyone is nice, everyone gets along. But then
- 15:43Speaker 2: when anyone doesn't like anything, it's not like, oh hey,
- 15:46Speaker 2: I don't like that, I disagree with you, it's.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Fuck you, you.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Suck, You're an asshole, And it's like all I said
- 15:54Speaker 4: was I like, I like I like the prequels, or
- 15:57Speaker 4: all I said was I didn't think.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I don't think an Dady's doing that hot right now.
- 16:02Speaker 2: But it's not like, oh I don't I disagree, Great, cool,
- 16:05Speaker 2: good for you. Let's have a conversation about it. Instead
- 16:08Speaker 2: of have a conversation, it's like, no, fuck you, you're wrong.
- 16:09Speaker 2: You suck. It's like, oh cool, thanks, but no no,
- 16:16Speaker 2: uh so jeerous little halkster. Yeah, it just it sucks.
- 16:22Speaker 2: This is like one of those ones where you kind
- 16:25Speaker 2: of I'm not gonna say, question your old mortonic. It's
- 16:29Speaker 2: also like it's also like one of those ones where
- 16:30Speaker 2: you go, wow, man, I like it. Yeah, we're not
- 16:33Speaker 2: getting any younger. Because again I didn't. Obviously I was.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I didn't. I was a WWF kid growing up, so
- 16:39Speaker 2: I really didn't watch a lot of bc W. Like
- 16:42Speaker 2: I knew of it. I knew who Hulk Hogan was.
- 16:44Speaker 2: But then it wasn't until he started to come back
- 16:46Speaker 2: is when I really got into it, Like, oh yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 2: because every because that's the thing. When when he left
- 16:49Speaker 2: for w CW, they didn't talk about him on WF.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Oh no, the only anytime they got a chance, they
- 16:54Speaker 2: bury his ask no fucking question. Oh they bury his ass.
- 16:58Speaker 2: But then when he came back and he start to
- 17:02Speaker 2: you know, you actually get telling him like oh, actually, yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 2: this is the guy that was the guy before Austin.
- 17:06Speaker 2: This was the guy before Brett Hart and it's like
- 17:08Speaker 2: this was the old this was Babe Ruth and like
- 17:10Speaker 2: you're like, oh yeah, Babe Ruth is kind of cool.
- 17:15Speaker 2: So so yeah, So despite everything that came out here,
- 17:20Speaker 2: as I'll end up with the Hulk Hogan thing, say
- 17:23Speaker 2: your viains, say your prayers, Huggle huggle, not even a
- 17:27Speaker 2: hulk a man, just hug a wrestling fan, because yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 2: we could use it right now because we lost one
- 17:33Speaker 2: of the I mean we lost we essentially lost the one,
- 17:37Speaker 2: the original one, if you will, So one more time,
- 17:40Speaker 2: here's to the hulkster salude pros cheers. I know everyone
- 17:48Speaker 2: likes to say rest in peace. I always like this.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I like to say rest in power because some people
- 17:55Speaker 2: just like their this, their life can't beat tonight and
- 17:57Speaker 2: I and I think most everyone's life can't beat the night.
- 18:00Speaker 2: And I was like, you know, essentially, when you go
- 18:02Speaker 2: to whatever you believe in, when you go to the
- 18:04Speaker 2: next life, don't be at peace, have fun, go crazy.
- 18:09Speaker 2: So anyway, now that we're done with that, about fifteen
- 18:13Speaker 2: minutes later, h let's get to the sup review. It's
- 18:16Speaker 2: been a minute, damn it's good. So yes, uh Superman,
- 18:21Speaker 2: no kidding, Yes, I had not seen Superman. From what
- 18:26Speaker 2: I've gathered from the news, that really isn't anything too
- 18:29Speaker 2: spoil So that's good at least because I haven't seen anything,
- 18:32Speaker 2: especially in the circles and the things I read, so
- 18:34Speaker 2: that's good. But it's got good reviews, which I'm glad
- 18:38Speaker 2: Fantastic four. So before we get further, here's your spoiler warning,
- 18:44Speaker 2: because I'm not a dick. Directed by Matt Shackman, who
- 18:52Speaker 2: also made the WandaVision show, I don't think. I don't
- 18:55Speaker 2: be doing anything else for Marvel. I can't understand. I
- 18:57Speaker 2: can't remember starring Pedro Pesca. It was mister Fantastic, which
- 19:03Speaker 2: I will say before again to my thoughts in the film.
- 19:06Speaker 2: If you know, if you want to learn about the
- 19:08Speaker 2: crazy thing about mister Fantastic with this film, just look
- 19:12Speaker 2: back at the production history because so many people were
- 19:14Speaker 2: alleged to be mister Fantastic. First, it was obviously the
- 19:17Speaker 2: rumor everyone want. Everyone fancasted John Krazinski, which then I
- 19:20Speaker 2: mean spoiler. They gave us that bone in uh Doctor
- 19:23Speaker 2: Strange multi verse as Madness, where they had him be
- 19:25Speaker 2: mister Fantastic in an ultra universe for five minutes and
- 19:28Speaker 2: then he got his asking and at one point who
- 19:31Speaker 2: else was it? Adam Driver? That Kylo running from Star
- 19:34Speaker 2: Wars was one.
- 19:37Speaker 1: O.
- 19:38Speaker 2: There's another big name I can't remember, but yeah, John Krazinsky,
- 19:42Speaker 2: Adam Driver, Like those were two big names. Oh it's
- 19:46Speaker 2: really good. I know there's another big name anyway, but yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 2: and then uh, Pedro Pascal was casted, and everyone's like,
- 19:52Speaker 2: what Pedro Pascal. I mean, everyone knows Petro Pascal. I mean,
- 19:55Speaker 2: christ you typing Patro Pascal. There's I mean, just TikTok videos.
- 19:57Speaker 2: People join over him, man and women. I can't believe. No,
- 20:01Speaker 2: it's a very handsome man. So if you know anything
- 20:06Speaker 2: about the Fantastic Four though, so this is kind of
- 20:08Speaker 2: the Deadpool thing where for years they were in the
- 20:11Speaker 2: Fox umbrella, where essentially Fox had the film rights to it,
- 20:15Speaker 2: and they made three films and all critically and I'm
- 20:23Speaker 2: not gonna say all, but the majority, the unanimous feeling
- 20:30Speaker 2: on all of them were they suck. There were two
- 20:37Speaker 2: in the mid two thousands actually, with Chris Sevens as
- 20:39Speaker 2: a human torch and Jessica Alba as a visible girl.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I can't remember who the other two guys were. They
- 20:45Speaker 2: played fantastic and the thing. They were okay, but they
- 20:50Speaker 2: weren't good. And then they did one in the early
- 20:56Speaker 2: twenty tens with Miles Teller. I believe Kate Mara Michael B.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Jordan was the human torch and don't don't watch it,
- 21:06Speaker 2: just don't watch it. Just don't watch it. You go
- 21:09Speaker 2: to if you want to piss off a Marvel fan,
- 21:11Speaker 2: just go It's fantastic. They'll know exactly what you mean.
- 21:15Speaker 2: They're probably gonna be a middle finger. Oh god, thankful
- 21:19Speaker 2: I didn't see that one in the theater. That was
- 21:20Speaker 2: one I almost did, and thankfully I had some compitalized
- 21:23Speaker 2: I remember what it was. Obviously a lot more important
- 21:25Speaker 2: and better than that. Anyway, all film was subjective, though,
- 21:28Speaker 2: of course, so this movie, so yeah, so PHANTAISTI four
- 21:30Speaker 2: has been essentially the best way to say it. You
- 21:34Speaker 2: have all these superhero movies. Obviously there isn't like really
- 21:38Speaker 2: a whole like, oh, well, here's how it worked out previously.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I mean, obviously with X Men, there's that Batman, there's
- 21:42Speaker 2: that Spider Man, there's that Superman, there's that. But with
- 21:45Speaker 2: the Fantastic four, it's been not like, oh it's hit
- 21:48Speaker 2: or miss it's been unanimously like, oh this sucks, good
- 21:51Speaker 2: fucking luck. So spoiler, this movie's fucking awesome. So how
- 22:02Speaker 2: does it pertain to the MCU. It really doesn't because
- 22:06Speaker 2: right away they don't explain why, which I actually kind
- 22:09Speaker 2: of appreciate. It takes place in a different universe. They're like, oh,
- 22:13Speaker 2: Gray more multiverse shit, yes, but in this one there
- 22:16Speaker 2: is They barely mentioned multiverse. The only thing that says,
- 22:18Speaker 2: the only thing is it's not Earth. What does Marvel
- 22:21Speaker 2: call themselves? Eight two eight? It's not sixty two sick.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I think it's like eighty one to eight. This is
- 22:24Speaker 2: Earth eight two eight or something like that. Completely different universe.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And obviously we've seen the Fantastic Four movies, you know
- 22:33Speaker 2: how they get their powers. What I liked about this
- 22:36Speaker 2: Instead of spending forty five minutes to an hour doing
- 22:38Speaker 2: this bullshit, it's literally like a ten minute intro. And
- 22:41Speaker 2: by the way, this movie, I say, I will say
- 22:44Speaker 2: this is the best use a Disney own affiliated or
- 22:50Speaker 2: property rather has used in terms of using IP. There's
- 22:53Speaker 2: a much of ABC, not even references, just cameos. If
- 22:58Speaker 2: you will ABC network in here. There's a there's some
- 23:01Speaker 2: other ones too, and it's just like, what this is
- 23:04Speaker 2: fucking weird, and it's even though it takes you know,
- 23:07Speaker 2: like it takes place now, but in this universe there's
- 23:09Speaker 2: still like in the nineteen sixties, but they're way more
- 23:13Speaker 2: advanced than any other multiverse, universe or dimension rather, you
- 23:19Speaker 2: know what I mean, which is actually kind of cool.
- 23:21Speaker 2: So essentially just think like the nineteen sixties, but they're
- 23:23Speaker 2: in the they're in terms of technological adventage in like
- 23:26Speaker 2: twenty fifty, which is crazy. Yeah. No, this movie was fantastic,
- 23:33Speaker 2: not even two hours. I think it's like an hour
- 23:35Speaker 2: forty and it was one of those movies where I
- 23:38Speaker 2: left and I wanted more. Pedro Pascal was fantastic. Vanessa
- 23:44Speaker 2: Kirby is a visible girl. His wife was fantastic. I mean,
- 23:47Speaker 2: if you've read all the interviews they've been there's something
- 23:49Speaker 2: by the way. People by the way. Also, if you're
- 23:51Speaker 2: sitting on Petro Pascal because anxiety, go fuck yourself. So
- 23:53Speaker 2: there's that. This is some good bourbon. I'm not even
- 23:59Speaker 2: get a touch on you gonna touch that subject. They obviously,
- 24:02Speaker 2: you know, have talked about how to handle that stuff.
- 24:05Speaker 2: So if you're gonna make fun of his thing. You
- 24:07Speaker 2: can kiss my ass. But yeah, the film was just fantastic.
- 24:12Speaker 2: The story was good even even though it's his grandiose
- 24:16Speaker 2: cosmic space scale. Galactus is like, again, I really don't
- 24:21Speaker 2: know Galactus that well, but like in terms of like
- 24:23Speaker 2: characters of Marvel's superhero villains, he is in that s
- 24:28Speaker 2: tier of like big batty dudes, and I thought they
- 24:32Speaker 2: did a pretty it was weird. The only thing I
- 24:35Speaker 2: will say this, here's the one thing so essentially Galactus
- 24:38Speaker 2: essentially is I don't they never say this celestial which
- 24:42Speaker 2: we've seen the terms of. Essentially, it's the giant dude
- 24:44Speaker 2: to walk through the galaxy. They can eat plants and shit,
- 24:47Speaker 2: So essentially he is, but he's not. He's just in
- 24:52Speaker 2: a giant. He's a giant who's in a giant giant
- 24:56Speaker 2: ship that essentially is like the death Star but instead
- 25:00Speaker 2: of like blasting planets and eats them. So it's like, okay,
- 25:03Speaker 2: that's cool. But then this is the one thing that
- 25:06Speaker 2: weirded me out was and I get why. So essentially
- 25:08Speaker 2: the story is mister Fantastic and sus Storm visit Bolgri
- 25:13Speaker 2: woman have a kid, and Galactus wants them because apparently
- 25:17Speaker 2: this kid is fucking powerful, which for reasons because the
- 25:20Speaker 2: cosmic energy, which it all makes sense to the space shit.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And the thing I like is like, essentially, if you've
- 25:25Speaker 2: seen the other Fantastic Four movies, you kind of get
- 25:28Speaker 2: like the little like, oh, I get like who this
- 25:29Speaker 2: character is and stuff like that. But like if you
- 25:31Speaker 2: even if you haven't, that was the best part. If
- 25:34Speaker 2: you haven't seen any of the movies, you could have
- 25:38Speaker 2: gone to this movie and not watch a single Marvel
- 25:40Speaker 2: movie and you would understand everything going on. And that's
- 25:45Speaker 2: what I loved about it. It was simple, It went
- 25:48Speaker 2: right to the point. It was literally the first ten minutes,
- 25:51Speaker 2: here's who they are, Here's how they got their powers,
- 25:53Speaker 2: Here's what the world is. Here's what this world is
- 25:56Speaker 2: in compared to other Marvel movies, which obviously, if you
- 25:58Speaker 2: see the other movies, you.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Know what they are.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Other I mean, it's only one world. If you know
- 26:01Speaker 2: the other Marvel movies are, you know what that world is.
- 26:04Speaker 2: But here's this world, and it's different, cool action, and
- 26:06Speaker 2: it was just NonStop just like not insulting your intelligence,
- 26:11Speaker 2: and it was just upon a tenth third time fantastic Yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 2: and I just I love Like I said, it was
- 26:20Speaker 2: just it was nice to not have. Because that's the
- 26:23Speaker 2: problem with the current state of the MCU is there's
- 26:27Speaker 2: been so many movies. But the thing that was successful
- 26:30Speaker 2: about the whole Infinity Stones was you always knew where
- 26:35Speaker 2: it was heading after the fourth or fifth movie, because
- 26:39Speaker 2: they's like, oh, here here's standos. Okay, he's obviously going
- 26:43Speaker 2: to the Infinity Stones, but not every movie was like
- 26:46Speaker 2: Infinity so Infinity Stone thingie, so they would make reference
- 26:48Speaker 2: to it, but every reference was a run on the ladder.
- 26:51Speaker 2: It was going up to grab that title, slowly going up.
- 26:54Speaker 2: And then when we got to Infinity War, akay fanals
- 26:57Speaker 2: the movie you knew, you knew why. Even if you
- 27:01Speaker 2: hadn't seen all the movies prior to Infinity War and Endgame,
- 27:06Speaker 2: if you had seen a couple, especially just any of
- 27:07Speaker 2: the Avengers movies, you knew exactly where it was going.
- 27:13Speaker 2: And that's how this movie was, like you knew from
- 27:15Speaker 2: start to end. You knew why go actors going after
- 27:17Speaker 2: the kid, You knew who was who, why the people
- 27:22Speaker 2: care about them, why they're superheroes, and all this stuff.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Even like the side villains in the movie like Moleman,
- 27:27Speaker 2: which was fucking fantastic by Paul Walter Howserd who was phenomenal.
- 27:31Speaker 2: You know, he's in an only for a couple of minutes.
- 27:32Speaker 2: It's just And that's what the superhero movies are supposed
- 27:35Speaker 2: to be. It's supposed to be not saying quick, but
- 27:37Speaker 2: it's supposed to be like, hey, here's your hero, here's
- 27:40Speaker 2: the story, here's the bad guy. Go oh, and maybe
- 27:44Speaker 2: there'll be a sequel. That's it. That's why I love
- 27:50Speaker 2: the movie Thunderbolts so much in terms of like hero tier,
- 27:53Speaker 2: like probably in the C category, but like, here's your
- 27:58Speaker 2: here's your cat, here's your ensemble of actually essentially of
- 28:04Speaker 2: mercenary villains. Here's why they're all here, here's the plot,
- 28:09Speaker 2: here's the twist, here's the end. Oh, and here's where
- 28:12Speaker 2: it's going.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Cool.
- 28:15Speaker 2: And I think Marvel has just been on thankfully, they've
- 28:19Speaker 2: been on a good rise of just consistently having good movies,
- 28:26Speaker 2: because what last year we had Deadpool Wolverine, which even
- 28:29Speaker 2: that movie really didn't connect to the MCU other than
- 28:32Speaker 2: a quick TVA mentioned a little brief mention of Deadpool
- 28:36Speaker 2: going to the MCU universe, which they never explained how
- 28:40Speaker 2: he got there, but that's neither here nor there. And
- 28:44Speaker 2: then you got oh damn, it's good, and then you
- 28:46Speaker 2: got Thunderbolts and you got this movie, and it was
- 28:48Speaker 2: just it was just nice that, like for when it's
- 28:52Speaker 2: nice that finally, of course under Kevin Faigie and like
- 28:54Speaker 2: Matt Shack, was really good that they finally got the
- 28:57Speaker 2: fantastic form over, because that was the problem with the
- 29:00Speaker 2: one is like they were always trying to explain, here's
- 29:03Speaker 2: who these guys are. We're gonna take an hour to
- 29:04Speaker 2: explain to you how they got their power. It's like
- 29:06Speaker 2: we don't need that. Everyone knows that, and even people
- 29:08Speaker 2: like James Gonna recently set an interview because obviously this
- 29:10Speaker 2: is DC now, and he said he doesn't want to
- 29:13Speaker 2: see some movies anymore, and he's one hundred percent right.
- 29:15Speaker 2: We don't need to see the Waynes get shot with
- 29:18Speaker 2: the pearls falling everywhere. We don't need to see a
- 29:20Speaker 2: spider biting Peter. I second that because I'm a pussy
- 29:25Speaker 2: and I hate spiders. And third, I think he I
- 29:27Speaker 2: think I think it was we don't need to see
- 29:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we don't see kell Out leave Krypton, Clarkent
- 29:31Speaker 2: leave Krypton because we own the plant blows up. There's
- 29:35Speaker 2: been how many sets of movies where we see That's
- 29:37Speaker 2: what I see about the Tom Howland Spider May movies.
- 29:39Speaker 2: We never see him get his powers. It's just here's
- 29:42Speaker 2: Spider Man. Cool, thank you, because everyone of their mother
- 29:47Speaker 2: knows how it works, and if they don't, it literally
- 29:49Speaker 2: takes two minutes for someone to explain to them, not
- 29:53Speaker 2: half an hour. But yeah, getting back to The Fantastic Four,
- 29:57Speaker 2: just the action, the chemistry, not even just some months.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Pedro and Venza just a months to four of them obviously,
- 30:05Speaker 2: And I'm not gonna spoil this part. If you watch
- 30:07Speaker 2: the Bear when the thing's making pasta you'll get a
- 30:10Speaker 2: reference right away. Thankfully, a few people in the theater
- 30:14Speaker 2: I was with or actually laughed because when that happened,
- 30:16Speaker 2: I was like, all right, I was like, here, that's
- 30:18Speaker 2: obviously a reference. Yeah, but now in terms of where
- 30:23Speaker 2: it's going, so and here's my one here's my one
- 30:28Speaker 2: con in the film. I'm saying my one negative in
- 30:30Speaker 2: the film, other than I wish it was longer because
- 30:32Speaker 2: I enjoyed it that much, or too rightly because I
- 30:35Speaker 2: thought I thought Galactus would be more of a I'm
- 30:39Speaker 2: not gonna say, I'm not gonna say a battie, but
- 30:41Speaker 2: like I thought, with how it's well normal, Galactus is
- 30:46Speaker 2: a very strong villain. The way he lost. If you watch,
- 30:50Speaker 2: I'm not gonna spoil it because the way he lost
- 30:51Speaker 2: is pretty cool, but let's just say this invisible girl
- 30:54Speaker 2: essentially beats him. But it's like, okay, if you're that powerful,
- 30:59Speaker 2: why didn't we come to that conclusion either? But then,
- 31:02Speaker 2: but to play Devil's advocate, what happens after the battle
- 31:07Speaker 2: makes all the more sense, like, oh, okay, I get why.
- 31:11Speaker 2: And then that's the thing because again, right away, with
- 31:12Speaker 2: the way the battle ends, you're like, wait, that's how
- 31:16Speaker 2: it ends. That doesn't make any sense. But then it's like,
- 31:18Speaker 2: oh wait, but then you understand why it ended that way.
- 31:20Speaker 2: It's like, okay, they want to explain, there's just one
- 31:22Speaker 2: little thing to happen, like, oh, that makes a hundre
- 31:23Speaker 2: percent sense. My other caveat was so they obviously spoiler.
- 31:31Speaker 2: They defeat Galactus. And if you saw the post credit
- 31:37Speaker 2: in Thunderbolts, which is the main Marvel universe, it ends
- 31:43Speaker 2: with the New Avengers seeing a ship come into space
- 31:48Speaker 2: and it's a Fantastic four. You don't see him, you
- 31:51Speaker 2: just see the ship with the four on it. But
- 31:53Speaker 2: in this movie they don't show how that ship gets there.
- 31:56Speaker 2: All the show is it's four years later. Franklin the
- 31:59Speaker 2: kid is now a little older. Sue Storm physical Sustorm
- 32:04Speaker 2: is getting like a sandwich or someone for Franklin, and
- 32:07Speaker 2: then she walks in the living room and there's a
- 32:09Speaker 2: green hooded guy with a mask next one you don't
- 32:11Speaker 2: see his face, honestly, being doctor Doom. I kind of
- 32:15Speaker 2: figured he was gonna pop in because like Doctor Doom
- 32:17Speaker 2: and a Fantastic four, it's like Batman and Joker. It's
- 32:20Speaker 2: just like you gotta have a you gotta have a reference. Which,
- 32:22Speaker 2: by the way, I'm not gonna spoil this for people.
- 32:26Speaker 2: There's a conference where Suestorm is trying to plead to
- 32:28Speaker 2: the world leaders that they need their help with this
- 32:30Speaker 2: plan they're gonna do the defeat Galactus. If you watch it,
- 32:33Speaker 2: there's one country not there. Wink wink, nudge, nudge. If
- 32:37Speaker 2: you know, you know which was actually right away. I
- 32:39Speaker 2: was like, I saw what you did there. But some guy,
- 32:42Speaker 2: some guy behind me was like where aren't they there, Like,
- 32:44Speaker 2: come on, bro anyway, So oh yeah, post credit scene,
- 32:53Speaker 2: so that there was that was the thing. That was
- 32:55Speaker 2: the thing I was surprised about. The doctor Doom quick cameo.
- 32:59Speaker 2: You know, you don't showed Downy's face. They just showed
- 33:01Speaker 2: the green hood in the mask, and you know exactly
- 33:02Speaker 2: what is in Franklin's Like that was a creepy thing.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Franklin's like reaching up to his face but you don't see,
- 33:07Speaker 2: which was really fucking creepy because it's like a spin
- 33:09Speaker 2: of like twenty seconds, like Sue's reading him a book.
- 33:13Speaker 2: She gets up to grab him something to eat or
- 33:14Speaker 2: something or another book. She goes to grab another book,
- 33:17Speaker 2: I think, and she comes back, but she can tell
- 33:21Speaker 2: something's off because Franklin's on the couch and then you
- 33:23Speaker 2: see the green hood. That was the mid credit scene
- 33:28Speaker 2: essentially in terms of post credit scenes, because this is
- 33:30Speaker 2: set up your future. This is Thanos getting the gauntlet.
- 33:33Speaker 2: This is a Nick Curius saying have you heard about
- 33:35Speaker 2: the Avenger Initiative? Okay, I tell the Avenger and the
- 33:38Speaker 2: Avenger Initiative come on voice actually, come on, good to
- 33:40Speaker 2: get out do it now. Sorry, we'll hype it up.
- 33:43Speaker 2: It to a good movie. Then there's the after credit scene.
- 33:50Speaker 2: And I hadn't read anything on spoilers. I knew there
- 33:54Speaker 2: was a rumor allegedly that the Doctor Doom was. I mean,
- 33:58Speaker 2: if you if you want to see what you knew
- 33:59Speaker 2: too up at some point or at least a brief mention,
- 34:05Speaker 2: I had a hunch Doctor to be in the post
- 34:06Speaker 2: credit scene, but it was the mid credit scene, so
- 34:11Speaker 2: I'm thinking, like, okay, So essentially you showed the big
- 34:15Speaker 2: Baddie in the middle of the credits, so it's usually
- 34:18Speaker 2: you Usually you would want the mid credit to be
- 34:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, not as significant as the post credit.
- 34:25Speaker 2: You want to be like, oh hey, you might want
- 34:27Speaker 2: to stay an extra two minutes. But the post credit
- 34:30Speaker 2: scene was just and it was I'm not gonna lie.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I enjoyed it. It was cute, but afterwards, even a
- 34:34Speaker 2: guy behind me goes, really they because obviously in their
- 34:39Speaker 2: universe of Fantastic Four celebrities essentially essentially think of the
- 34:41Speaker 2: they're like the boys, but they're actually not assholes and
- 34:44Speaker 2: they are good people. That's probably the best way to
- 34:46Speaker 2: describe them. But the post credit scene is literally just
- 34:51Speaker 2: in their universe. They also have a cartoon of the
- 34:54Speaker 2: Fantastic Four Adventures and just a cartoon intro and then
- 34:57Speaker 2: the robot assist in Herbie turns it.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Off and I was like, okay, like that should like
- 35:08Speaker 4: that should have been the mid credits scene.
- 35:10Speaker 2: And then you ended with the doctor Doom appearance because
- 35:14Speaker 2: everyone knows zach Ar dooms and Dooms. I mean, it's
- 35:16Speaker 2: what they called Avengers Doomsday. It's been all over the papers.
- 35:19Speaker 2: They did a whole thing where doctor Robert Downey Junior
- 35:21Speaker 2: came out and said it's me bitches. He didn't say
- 35:23Speaker 2: it's me bitches, but pretty much said it with his
- 35:25Speaker 2: expercial expressions. It's Downy for Crisake, Oscar Winner. So yeah,
- 35:29Speaker 2: that's my one major gripe with this, Like you should
- 35:32Speaker 2: have switched the post credit scene because I remember like
- 35:34Speaker 2: even like after that, I was like and a guy
- 35:36Speaker 2: said the guy behind me was like really, it's like
- 35:39Speaker 2: not you should That's that's again that's nitpick. I mean,
- 35:42Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say it's nitpicking, because like that's a
- 35:45Speaker 2: pretty important thing to show, but it's like, you're really
- 35:47Speaker 2: gonna show that and then show a cartoon song like Okay,
- 35:52Speaker 2: it's an interesting choice, but yeah, it was a I
- 35:58Speaker 2: want to say, this is my m hmm. I think
- 36:01Speaker 2: it's I have this weird diffusion thing in my own desk.
- 36:03Speaker 2: It smells smells weird. Anyway, it was an interesting choice
- 36:08Speaker 2: for them to do that. Overall, though I really enjoyed
- 36:13Speaker 2: this movie. I'm really looking forward to see what they
- 36:16Speaker 2: do with because I believe, I think, and that's that's
- 36:19Speaker 2: gonna be the most interesting thing now Doomsday. I believe
- 36:24Speaker 2: it's either Doomsday or Spider Man. I want to say
- 36:27Speaker 2: it's Spider Man because I think, yeah, I think dooms that
- 36:29Speaker 2: got moved to the next Christmas. I don't have the
- 36:31Speaker 2: schedule front of me, but essentially it's Spider Man's filming
- 36:34Speaker 2: right now, and they're filming both the Avengers movies right now,
- 36:38Speaker 2: and I think it riginly supposed to be Doomsday Spider
- 36:40Speaker 2: Man Secret Wars, but not. I think it's Spider Man,
- 36:42Speaker 2: Avengers Avengers. So it's gonna be really interesting because I
- 36:45Speaker 2: think Spider Man is the last movie four Avengers. But
- 36:48Speaker 2: it's like with Infinity War and Endgame, even hell, even
- 36:55Speaker 2: with the first two Avengers with Age of Ultron. Other
- 36:57Speaker 2: than like obviously Ultron like you knew, you knew where
- 37:00Speaker 2: were going and or you knew what was gonna happen.
- 37:03Speaker 2: This you not only you don't know what's gonna happen,
- 37:06Speaker 2: you don't know what's the point. Everyone knew, Okay, fantas
- 37:11Speaker 2: to go over the Infinity Stones for reasons which they
- 37:13Speaker 2: explained throughout the course of the movies. And honestly, the
- 37:17Speaker 2: Cane thing didn't work out, which is more even more
- 37:19Speaker 2: interesting thing was kind of you said this week was
- 37:20Speaker 2: that even before the whole Jonathan Major's allegations can't what
- 37:24Speaker 2: I'm not get into, they were actually already looking to
- 37:26Speaker 2: move on from Kane actually, and and they apparently have
- 37:29Speaker 2: been talking to Downey for over a year about Doctor Doom.
- 37:33Speaker 2: So allegedly, but I mean, he said it in an article.
- 37:35Speaker 2: But so I'm gonna say allegedly because it's probably like
- 37:38Speaker 2: three four months. To be honest, it was probably sick.
- 37:40Speaker 2: We'll call it, we'll call it, we'll call it down
- 37:41Speaker 2: in the middle, we'll say it's six. That's not exactly
- 37:43Speaker 2: math from three to four tweet year, but fucking everyone
- 37:46Speaker 2: knows a bet at math anyway, So yeah, that that's
- 37:52Speaker 2: almost just because again, it's like, you're essentially gonna have
- 37:54Speaker 2: to do this movie, which and I'm not gonna spoil it.
- 37:57Speaker 2: You know it's been announced it they literally put the
- 38:00Speaker 2: fuck we talked about an episode. What was it one
- 38:02Speaker 2: to ninety the fucking eight hour video of fucking chairs
- 38:06Speaker 2: or No. One eighty seven, Yeah, Marvel's Chairs where they
- 38:10Speaker 2: there's eight hours to show a bunch of casting and
- 38:13Speaker 2: the majority of the cast was some current Marvel characters
- 38:17Speaker 2: or characters from the actual Fox uh Fox x Men movies.
- 38:22Speaker 2: So it's like, hmm, what are they doing? So it's
- 38:24Speaker 2: gonna be interesting to see what they're doing. It's just
- 38:28Speaker 2: it's gonna be it's it's just because the problem the
- 38:30Speaker 2: thing I'm worried about with Doomsday and with how some
- 38:35Speaker 2: of the post credit scenes have turned out, there's been
- 38:37Speaker 2: a again James Gun said that about the post credit
- 38:39Speaker 2: scene too. He's only gonna have post credit scenes they
- 38:41Speaker 2: actually matter, because since Endgame, there's been a lot of
- 38:44Speaker 2: post credits scenes that really have not been necessary or
- 38:46Speaker 2: have mattered. Obviously, the one after Miss Marvel's obviously heading
- 38:50Speaker 2: the dooms that kind of manners if you think about it.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Wink Wake nudge, nudge. But other than that, there really
- 38:53Speaker 2: has been that many other than I feel like multiversal references.
- 38:57Speaker 2: But it's like you knew where they were all going,
- 39:00Speaker 2: but this one it's like you don't know. And it's like, essentially,
- 39:02Speaker 2: the thing I'm trying to make is sure, there's technically
- 39:05Speaker 2: two A Venders movies, but the problem I think is,
- 39:10Speaker 2: I think they're essentially gonna try to do four move
- 39:12Speaker 2: four to five movies or stories in two and that
- 39:17Speaker 2: could be a problem. Now, not that you can't have
- 39:20Speaker 2: these movies be three hours long, which I believe, I
- 39:24Speaker 2: know endgame was. If Finnymore might have been closed to
- 39:26Speaker 2: three hours, might have been two and a half. You
- 39:29Speaker 2: can have them three hours, but like with the amount
- 39:33Speaker 2: of characters you're gonna have in these movies, plus by
- 39:36Speaker 2: the casting of the first thing, you're you're literally anticipating
- 39:39Speaker 2: that the majority of these people are going to remember
- 39:41Speaker 2: the Fox stuff or or people are gonna show them
- 39:45Speaker 2: that stuff and have to explain the lore of what
- 39:48Speaker 2: was the X Men Fox saga, which literally, uh, the good,
- 39:55Speaker 2: the bad, and the ugly. It's really the best way,
- 39:57Speaker 2: it's literally the best way to say it. I'm not
- 39:59Speaker 2: to take drink for that one. That's actually good one.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Charles Oh, I said, my government name anyway. But yeah, overall,
- 40:07Speaker 2: I really enjoyed this movie. It was just again, it
- 40:11Speaker 2: was just nice. It's nice that like and as I said,
- 40:14Speaker 2: this is a movie where you could not have seen
- 40:16Speaker 2: any Marvel movie prior, any Fantastic Four movie prior, and
- 40:20Speaker 2: you can go in and you know all the players
- 40:26Speaker 2: in the first ten minutes. You know who the leader is,
- 40:30Speaker 2: you know who's the smart one, you know who's the brute,
- 40:32Speaker 2: who's the goofy one, you know all of it. You
- 40:36Speaker 2: know all their purposes in this story. You know why
- 40:40Speaker 2: the antagonist is being who it is there's being who
- 40:43Speaker 2: it is, is doing what they're doing. You know all
- 40:45Speaker 2: of it in the first twenty minutes. And then you
- 40:48Speaker 2: essentially have an hour and a half or an hour
- 40:50Speaker 2: twenty of just action and good storytelling. And that's the thing,
- 40:54Speaker 2: like I said, like it's hard to have. And I
- 41:00Speaker 2: think that's what Guardians of the Galaxy did. You took
- 41:02Speaker 2: a story of a bunch of characters who nobody knew,
- 41:06Speaker 2: and you made everyone care about them, not even just
- 41:08Speaker 2: talking about the other two movies they made. Pust to
- 41:10Speaker 2: thee their Avengers movies they're involved in. You had everyone
- 41:12Speaker 2: care about all these characters. This, however, you're taking these
- 41:16Speaker 2: four characters who, unfortunately their track record is dog shit
- 41:23Speaker 2: and you made people care. I mean, I'm saying I'm
- 41:25Speaker 2: just speaking for myself, but all the reviews are saying awesome, fantastic.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Like again, I saw every.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Review hate to be hate the Jewell Pond, but it's
- 41:35Speaker 3: like they don't fucking do it be different, but every
- 41:40Speaker 3: single like literally they're all good reviews, all great reviews,
- 41:44Speaker 3: and like it's just the track record of Fantastic four
- 41:48Speaker 3: has not been good.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Hell, and I didn't even mention the h I've never
- 41:51Speaker 2: seen it. There's like a ninth I think it was
- 41:52Speaker 2: like what was the early nineties or eighties, Like they
- 41:55Speaker 2: did like a Fantastic four movie too, and it was
- 41:58Speaker 2: like essentially a movie that was pretty much made for TV.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I don't know if I ever came up. I've never
- 42:02Speaker 2: seen it, but like from all accounts, if you look
- 42:05Speaker 2: up at video, it literally looks like, oh yeah, they
- 42:07Speaker 2: literally made this probably for like a Disney special in
- 42:09Speaker 2: nineteen ninety two if you look at the photos of it,
- 42:12Speaker 2: so yeah, final score. I'm I mean, I know it's
- 42:19Speaker 2: probably a Recncy Buias. I'm gonna give it a huh.
- 42:25Speaker 2: This is really tough. I'm going to give it nine
- 42:28Speaker 2: stretchy pants out of ten. You with the reference when
- 42:32Speaker 2: you see the movie again. My one caveat is I
- 42:37Speaker 2: thought Galactus at certain points, like I said, I thought
- 42:40Speaker 2: he would have been stronger, if that makes sense again,
- 42:44Speaker 2: but they explained his size and stuff like that, I
- 42:46Speaker 2: thought pretty well, But just like I don't know, it's
- 42:50Speaker 2: something just felt off. Buck lacks. And here's the one
- 42:54Speaker 2: thing long story stories. He's trying to get the kid.
- 42:56Speaker 2: They try to set a trap. He obviously sees just
- 42:58Speaker 2: what's annoying He yeah, this is this the one thing
- 43:00Speaker 2: that really annoyed me to other than he sees the
- 43:02Speaker 2: trap they set for him. He literally just has to
- 43:05Speaker 2: step in a square, essentially thinking like they're like, oh,
- 43:07Speaker 2: you gotta step up the bear trap. Ha, we're gonna
- 43:09Speaker 2: catch you. And as he's about to step in it,
- 43:12Speaker 2: he notices the trap and then where they put a
- 43:17Speaker 2: decoy baby crib to think, I think it's the baby,
- 43:20Speaker 2: but then he knows the baby's over in this direction,
- 43:22Speaker 2: and instead of and then he walks to it instead
- 43:26Speaker 2: of destroying the trap, when before that he destroyed the
- 43:31Speaker 2: other things essentially connected to the trap. If you watch
- 43:34Speaker 2: the movie, you understand what I'm saying. That was the
- 43:36Speaker 2: one thing I was like, bro, just fucking flick one
- 43:40Speaker 2: flick one pod in gg my guy. But that's neither here.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Although but but again, it was one of those things
- 43:47Speaker 2: where I didn't think about that until after the final battle,
- 43:52Speaker 2: because I think about it was like I was like,
- 43:53Speaker 2: oh shit, he's yeah, he's he's smarter than that. He's
- 43:56Speaker 2: smarter than they think. And after like the big, the
- 43:58Speaker 2: big final conclusion, I'm just like, why didn't he just
- 44:02Speaker 2: fucking like okay whatever. So one of those things anyway, Yeah,
- 44:06Speaker 2: nine chretchy pants out of ten Galactus, like I said,
- 44:10Speaker 2: the galactus. So someone felt a little off to me.
- 44:15Speaker 2: But I think it's because, like I said, there's that
- 44:16Speaker 2: there's that pre stereotype of like what he actually is.
- 44:20Speaker 2: And with this movie, I'm not saying the movement and
- 44:22Speaker 2: like a bitch. I did not make him look like
- 44:23Speaker 2: a bitch. But I was just like I just saw
- 44:25Speaker 2: something a little more. But if you watch me, you understand,
- 44:28Speaker 2: like why he is the way he is though, and
- 44:30Speaker 2: then yeah, just a post credits scene. They just they
- 44:31Speaker 2: got to flip flop that because people are leaving, they're
- 44:35Speaker 2: not talking about me, They're gonna're gonna talk about Doom.
- 44:37Speaker 2: I was talking like, yeah, they ended with a cartoons
- 44:39Speaker 2: on like, Okay, that was interesting choice, but hey, whatever,
- 44:42Speaker 2: that's their choice. So yeah, uh nine stretchy pants out
- 44:45Speaker 2: of ten. Nine uh nine milk, you know, yeah, not
- 44:49Speaker 2: not nine churchy pants. Nine chocolate vanilla cookies out of ten.
- 44:53Speaker 2: There you go. You'll understand that when you watch a movie.
- 44:55Speaker 2: So okay, other than that, so things coming up. So
- 45:00Speaker 2: gon at some point do a Subervie for Superman, because
- 45:02Speaker 2: that's thing I really want to see. I'm gonna be
- 45:04Speaker 2: having a new guest come here soon, our good friend
- 45:07Speaker 2: of mine named Alex.
- 45:07Speaker 1: We have.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I been trying to do this for a while. If
- 45:12Speaker 2: you've listened to of the gaming podcasts uh with our
- 45:15Speaker 2: my good friend Tim, We've mentioned him a couple of times.
- 45:17Speaker 2: So Alex really wants to come out and just shoot
- 45:19Speaker 2: the ship, talk to talk, chat, come by fuquick chat.
- 45:25Speaker 2: So I be doing that soon, you like said superb
- 45:26Speaker 2: for Superman, Gonna be doing a uh, you know, Colockie
- 45:30Speaker 2: clock will be coming on O G. Patron will come
- 45:32Speaker 2: on soon to talk about some things that he's been
- 45:34Speaker 2: doing lately, some big news with his on his end,
- 45:38Speaker 2: I'll pop all good stuff of course, and then yeah,
- 45:41Speaker 2: so that's pretty much it. Oh and yeah, okay you guys,
- 45:47Speaker 2: more updates on the voice acting stuff. As I know
- 45:49Speaker 2: that's gonna kick ass. I'm really excited. I'm really enjoying
- 45:51Speaker 2: just the the prepping, if that makes sense. Like I know,
- 45:57Speaker 2: I know I need I haven't, you know, I haven't
- 45:59Speaker 2: in third year. Actually I need to do a sub
- 46:01Speaker 2: reviewer F one that needs an episode of itself because
- 46:04Speaker 2: that was just an insane movie. I did see F one.
- 46:06Speaker 2: It was really good. But yeah, so we'll do a
- 46:11Speaker 2: sub review on F one. I'll put that like in though,
- 46:13Speaker 2: like in a like talk episode because like it's been
- 46:17Speaker 2: a minute when the movie came out. It sounds like
- 46:19Speaker 2: a real going want to see a whole listen new
- 46:20Speaker 2: whole podcast a week like a month and a half ago.
- 46:23Speaker 2: So yeah, Other than that, I really appreciate all of
- 46:26Speaker 2: your loving supports. I'd appreciate some of the message ever received,
- 46:29Speaker 2: like hey orright, where have you been, what's going on?
- 46:32Speaker 2: Maybe come back?
- 46:33Speaker 1: So?
- 46:34Speaker 2: Yeah, fun stuff there as always. You can find me
- 46:38Speaker 2: us we Allegian at Chuck's Cantina on your socials Chucks
- 46:44Speaker 2: Cantina at gmail dot com. I will have also the
- 46:48Speaker 2: voice acting stuff a little once that's all processed and
- 46:50Speaker 2: done and good to go here too in the coming weeks.
- 46:55Speaker 2: And yeah, it's always like I say, especially in tonight's episode,
- 46:58Speaker 2: if you had any drinks, like I'm currently happy this evening,
- 47:02Speaker 2: Please be smart, please be saved. Get a friend to
- 47:05Speaker 2: come pick you up. First of yeah, call friend, Call friend.
- 47:08Speaker 2: If you can't get a friend, call ride share or
- 47:10Speaker 2: use a ride share. Worst case, get a taxi. Worst case,
- 47:14Speaker 2: just walk smartly. If you can't walk, then obviously get
- 47:17Speaker 2: a taxi. Worst case, just sleep on someone's couch, hopefully
- 47:20Speaker 2: you know them, because that'd be weird. Some of someone's couch,
- 47:24Speaker 2: you know, that'd be really weird, especially when you all
- 47:25Speaker 2: wake up next day and they're like, who the fuck
- 47:27Speaker 2: are you? I'm only with this house anyway. Yep, again,
- 47:31Speaker 2: thank you all very much for elevant support. We will
- 47:34Speaker 2: here see you all see other thing. I don't see
- 47:37Speaker 2: see you because you can't see you need see me
- 47:39Speaker 2: do do do Yeah. Other than that, Yeah, I'm gonna
- 47:42Speaker 2: get the fuck out of here. Take care now, bye bye.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Then yeah fuck
