- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Great Scott Episode 9.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Show where we talk about movies, TV shows, anime, sometimes books, video games, just a little bit.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Things we like, things we love.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: The trivia once in a while.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: A trivia every once in a while.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Make sure you tune in the second episode every week for the trivia.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: And it's just a little catch-up to uh because we don't like to text each other.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna get right into it.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Um before we do anything though, we had a golf tournament this past weekend that I played in.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: And it's it's only been two years in a row, but it's been the it's the best time.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: It's my favorite golf tournament to play in.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: A lot of family and friends get together and it's a great time.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: But I did hear back from a lot of people, a lot of people I love and a lot of people I know about the podcast, and I want to give some shout-outs.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Uh, if I don't shout you out, feel free to text me and get mad, and I'll shout you out next time.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: But some people I said I would mention, like obviously, like Slade, um, listens all the time, my brother-in-law Titan, Macy, Ransom, Sebastian, Emiliano all came up to me and we're talking about it.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: That was awesome.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Uh, Marcus, you know who you are.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: He's been in our comments, throwing stuff around.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: So just a big shout out.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: It's awesome to hear when people are talking about it and come up to you and like can tell you what they listened to and what they thought about what you said.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Um, it's even better than reading a comment, it's having someone in person say it.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So we really appreciate y'all watching, listening.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: It's been even bigger than, like we say every week.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: So far, it's been bigger than we thought it would be, and it's been a blessing.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: So we appreciate that.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I just want to start off with that.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: So for those that like to listen to the beginning, skip to the middle, and then skip to the end just to get us a view.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: There's your shout out.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Um, so we got some news.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Uh we had D23 just happened that we'll get into.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: We'll talk about what we've been watching, what we've been doing, a little live catch-up.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Um we're gonna get into a fun segment that'll be interesting.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: I did tell Brandon what it was, but I will save it for y'all.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Um then we'll get, or before that, we're gonna do our top five movies from this year so far.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: At the end of the year, we'll do a top ten, see if our top five changes any, and then add those extra ones.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Um halfway point of the year kind of seems like a good spot to do that.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: And then we're going to end it with our uh movie recommendations, watch list recommendations for each other.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: I watched Hereditary, Brandon watched seven, so we'll see what that's all about, and then recommend a new one for next week.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: First things first, though, we have some news.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Um talked about it last week, Spider-Man brand new day, box office, it's over two billion now.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're not gonna stop making Spider-Man movies anytime soon.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, Tom Holland might want to stop making Spider-Man movies, but we're gonna keep getting Spider-Man movies.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So if you like Spider-Man, we're gonna keep getting them, they make a bunch of money.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Um another thing, last week we talked about some X-Men castings.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Two of the cast members since then are no longer on the cast.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: So I don't know what happened with Charlie Melton or Charles Melton, but they were they may have mentioned some of it, but he ended up having to pull out his Beast.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Um, and as far as I know, they have not replaced him.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Um I was actually looking forward to him.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: And then Kaylee Spaney is no longer playing Rogue, instead, it's Indy Neveretti who was in Obsession, which we loved Obsession, she was really good in it.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: I think she'll be good.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I think personally, I was more excited for Kaylee Spaney after like looking up like what she's been in and seeing some stuff and some reviews about her people reacting to that.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I was pretty excited for it.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, but when but Indy, obviously, I'm excited for her too.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: She'll do great.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Some more is uh Adam Driver is playing Mr.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Sinister.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Um I think Foggy has been trying to nail down Adam Driver for the MCU for a long time, and I think that he is at a point in his career where he doesn't need the MCU money and the longevity of what comes with those, so they were looking for the right role that he can just sink his teeth into and maybe not have to show up all the time.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Mr.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Sinister is a really important villain in the X-Men franchise, so that's it.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: I think that's gonna be really good, and he's an awesome actor, so he'll do great.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Uh Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier, it's one that I wasn't expecting, um, and we'll see how that goes.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I know he's a good actor, but it's if so, you know, you get your expectations set and you have these people that you want, especially with all the fan casts that are out there nowadays, it's hard to set your mind on like change, but I think he'll do a great job.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: And uh Maya Boyd as Storm, I knew nothing about Maya Boyd when they announced this.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I think as far as I could see, she's been like one TV show, or she's they're they are continuing to add younger, not necessarily less proven, but younger, less uh like I don't know, they just haven't been doing it as long.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: They don't have as much under their belt, but are great actors and actresses, and I think she'll do a great job.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Storm is an awesome character that needs a really powerful person to play, and I think she's gonna do great.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: So that was just a little uh catch-up from last week, because we had talked about that.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Um there was a new trailer for Vision Quest, the TV show about Vision.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Looks alright.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Looks alright.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: You haven't seen it yet?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, it's not, I mean, nothing too crazy.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: It looks like it's gonna be fun.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: WandaVision was awesome when it first came out.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: It made Marvel think it was okay to continue to make a billion TV shows.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: They couldn't keep it up, in my opinion, but um I thought WandaVision was a good change of pace, breath of fresh air, and it they did really good with that, so I'm excited about that.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Um the new lanterns TV show for the DCU came out.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: The first episode.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Um a lot of mixed opinions about the end of that, but I think relatively the first episode is reviewed regarded pretty highly.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Um we'll get to that here in a minute.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Um another thing that I'm excited about, Incredibles 3 coming out in 2028.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: I'm a big fan of the Incredibles franchise, so I'm excited for that.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Um but other than that, any other news, anything you can think of?
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Nope, you touched on all of it.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Well, let's get with you.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: What you been doing, what you've been watching.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: I've been waiting to tell you about what I've been watching because I think you're gonna be excited.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: What?
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: I started something you're gonna like.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Me and Perry started watching uh probably about two nights ago?
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Severance.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's been really good.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Uh I can't I'm trying to think of where we're at.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: I don't really want to give spoilers just in case anybody else wants to watch it.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: But it's good.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Uh the twists, they're there.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: I feel like a lot of the time they're kind of Are you still in the first season?
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And you're not at the end of it yet?
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: No.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Uh how many episodes does it have in the first season?
- 6:35unknown: I don't know.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Eight to ten, maybe.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Eight to ten.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: That's what I was thinking.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, we're probably four or five episodes in.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: I could tell you exactly where we're at.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: If you wanted me to, do you think I should?
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Spoilers for Severance.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: It's a TV show on Apple TV.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I know a lot of people, some people don't have Apple TV.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: They only make bangers.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Like, Apple TV is good.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Severance is my second favorite TV show of all time.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: It's only two seasons long, so you should watch it, but spoilers from Yeah.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Severance is really good.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Uh the guy, the main Adam Scott.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, him.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: Uh in Hokum, I he was decent.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: I liked him, but I really like him in this a lot more.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Uh the way he can change from the worker, the the innie, to the outie.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: It's really cool, and the camera, like the effects that they use are really cool.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: But uh, I have I've made it to the point Heli is trying to get out.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: And she's in the elevator.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: I don't know how I should say it, but she tries to unalive herself.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: That's what I just watched.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Um It didn't work.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: She is still alive, but it's just crazy the effects that it's having on her and the effects that it had on everybody else and why they're just fine with it.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: It doesn't make any sense, but the end of the ooh.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: End of the first season going into the second season is.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to I'm just really excited to see.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to see like what else that entire company has like going on.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: A lot of weird stuff.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Cause like D D and D O D, D and something with uh the I don't even know.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: What is the name Liv L.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: I want the people that make the signs, like the art department and make like the bathroom stall signs and stuff like that.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: Uh I thought they were interesting, like they're just weird ones.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: They get more into it.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: That that's what I'm saying.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Like, I I don't know how many others there are like them, but I'm interested.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: And to find out what the heck they're doing on those computers.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Do you get to find that out?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Not entirely, no.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: They touch more on it, but it's not like it's still kind of like a little bit of a little bit more.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: And is it Is there only two seasons out?
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And is it over?
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: No.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, so they're still making it.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that's that's what I've been watching.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: I've been cranking that.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Haven't watched any Naruto, I don't think, since last week.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Which I'm sad about.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: But Oh, one more shout-out.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: Luis at work.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: He was recommending some anime for us.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: There's another shout out.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Hopefully he made it this far.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: But I started school today.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna get really busy for me, but I'll still try to watch my shows and my movies.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, good.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Well, I watched the first episode of Lanterns.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Um, I really liked it.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: They I wasn't too sure on the direction they were gonna go when all the trailers and stuff was coming out, but I think they do really good, and I think the actors in it are good.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: They play their characters well.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: I actually kind of like the thing that happens right at the end.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna spoil anything because it came out yester or no.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Yes, yesterday.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: It came out yesterday, so I'm not gonna give any spoilers for it.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Um, but I think it's gonna be pretty good.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: It's definitely a change of pace.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: Um, James Gunn is not like doesn't have like creative control over it.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: He's not in it, and you can definitely tell it's more dark, more grounded.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: But I think so far, first episode, obviously, it's pretty good.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Um watched X-Men 97, but you haven't caught up to it, so we won't review that yet.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: But when it's all said and done, you're finished it, finished with it, we'll do a more long length uh review for X-Men 97.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Same thing as last week.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Um it keeps coming sign of well it keeps some of the same like love and flair that the original had in the first season had, but it's it's just not the same.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: The second season hasn't been as good.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Um the final episode is pretty cool, but I have some negatives about it about as much as I have positives, so kind of a letdown, but still I enjoyed it.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Um for those that just tune in to listen to me talk about Dungeon Caller Carl, which has to be one of you, is that there, I'm almost done with the sixth book.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Uh how many books are there?
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Eight so far.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Um I th my thing said I've been listening ever I've been listening to an audiobook every day for the past nine weeks.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: That's what it told me today.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: So it it's not as good.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: It's a trend.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, you don't have to spoil that.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's still good.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: It's better than book three, which is my least favorite.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Is that the train one?
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: The train one.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that one's bad.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And I think it's not bad, but it's I mean, I think it in my before this, my next least favorite, which is still really good, is the first one.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: I like all this stuff.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Like every three floors, they have something special going on.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: I like all those.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: The one right before this was the sixth floor, and it was awesome.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: Um, something happened the sixth and the seventh floor, and the eighth floor is this one.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: It's more interesting than the trains, it's easier to follow, kind of, but there's more like lore from the outside because as everything builds up, you start to hear more about what's going on outside of the dungeon stuff.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of that going on, a lot of it.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: So that helps, but still, um, the last one is still my favorite.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, that's basically all I've been watching, and then I watched uh Hereditary, obviously.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: Um and and then one thing I forgot to talk about in notes is the new Doomsday trailer.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Made me way more excited for Doomsday than the first trailer did.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: It is awesome.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: There is a scene of Doom coming out of a ship and landing on the ground.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: It is awesome.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: I literally had to stop watching my phone and watch it on a TV so I could just see it happen.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: So that was cool.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty excited.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: You get more dialogue from some characters, it is good, and uh some shots that are interesting, say the least.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: So that's pretty exciting.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Anything else before we get into our top five?
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: I'm ready for top five.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Alright, so as you know, we've been doing top tens, um, trying to get to know us this first part.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: But we might not ever stop.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I kind of like it, but we're gonna run out of ideas eventually.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: The whole idea was to do these top tens so y'all can get a taste of our likes and our interests, um, and then revisit these in a year or whenever and see if anything's changed.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: So but we're for this one, about I mean, we're a little over halfway through the year now, but there's still some big movies to come out at the end of the year.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: We just thought we'd do a top five movies from this year.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Um we'll do a top ten at the end of the year, which is gonna be I mean like Doomsday and Dune come out in December, so it'll be after that at some point.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: But so we can get right into it.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: I have no honorable mentions.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: I do not either.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: So 'cause I didn't want to spoil any top ten and just haven't watched ten movies I like this year.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: So you wanna go first or you want me to go first?
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Uh it doesn't matter.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Do you want to go first?
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: I'll go ahead.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So number five, a movie Brandon made me watch, The Sheep Detectives.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: I like that in the top five.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Made it on my list.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: I will say it made it on my list because I couldn't find another one to replace it.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: And I looked at it and said, this is not going to my top five, and then I kept looking, and I was like, okay, it's gonna be number five.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: So I like it alright.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: The four above it I like way more.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: But it's in my top five.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Number four is Spider-Man Brand New Day.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Um y'all know my thoughts on Spider-Man Brand New Day.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: If you haven't go watch episode three, I think it was.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Three or five was our Spider-Man Brand New Day review.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Three.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Three.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Um I think I give it a 85 out of a hundred.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: Uh it's Spider-Man.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I love Spider-Man.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Um, at a film festival, but it came out in 2026.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: Theatrical release in May is Obsession.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: One of my favorite horror movies of all time.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Obviously, top three this year.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: It'd probably be in my top ten for the past in the past five years.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: If it's at it'd probably be around nine or ten, but I love Obsession.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: These top three would definitely make it into my top ten of the last five years, probably.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Umber two is the Odyssey.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Expected to put that at one, and then after thinking about it and looking at my reviews on Letterboxd, and then just I don't know.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: The Odyssey is awesome.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: I love that movie.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: I need to watch it again, and I need to watch the I need to well, I need to watch most of these a second time.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: I've seen Obsession three or four times now, because I've watched it like twice since we started the podcast, I think.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: I need to watch it three or four times.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: But so I need to watch the Odyssey again, but I do love that movie.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: And then number one is Project Hail Mary.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I knew that's a movie.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: It's my favorite movie of the year.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Obviously, in the first episode, I talked about the vibes when I was watching that movie, made it good, but um, it's just uh Ryan Gossing was awesome in it, and it's just so like heartwarming, but it's also there's enough like tension and kind of action to make you like fearful and stressed, but then you're also super happy and joyful at moments, and then it's funny, it's you know, it's got it all of it.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's even there's some tearjerker moments in there.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Um I do like the small twist in that movie where you find out he didn't volunteer to go there.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he was told to go there.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: He forced they forced him to go there and he even declined multiple times.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then they forced him, forced him to go there.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: They didn't just talk him into it.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I mean that's my number one.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: I'm sure for a lot of people that some of those movies will be in there, maybe probably in a different order.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Project Hail Mary just hit different for me.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: I need to watch it again and again, but need to watch it with Taylor too.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: I think she would love it.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: So that's my top five.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: So for my top five, uh, we may have the exact same movies in our top five.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Mine are just in different orders.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Uh so I'll just briefly go over it because you've talked about all of them.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: Uh five is the Odyssey for me.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Just because I didn't know as much lore going into it, uh, it was still really good, but I just didn't like it as much as these other ones.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Um at four, I have sheep detectives.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: I'm glad it's at four, not at one.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: No, I wasn't gonna put it at one.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: It was honest, it was the last one I put into my top five just because I had forgotten about it.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: And I forgot that it was in uh 2026, but I was as soon as I saw it, I was like, yeah, it's in my top five.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: So it's in my four.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Number three is Project Hail Mary.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: I really liked it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: I watched it in the movie theaters and it was ri I mean, it was so beautiful.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: The movies good too.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Uh and it's it's kind of a feel-good movie at times with their relationship.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: So I really liked it.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: Um, I have Spider-Man Brand New Day.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: You thought that was gonna be my one?
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: I thought it was gonna be my one, to be honest.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Uh it's hard not to put it at one because it's just what I like.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Uh Spider-Man, superhero movie.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, that's just what I like.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: But at one, the movie that I was just in the most awe after watching it.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: And that the entire time watching it, I was like, wow, this is really good, like, and you know what it is, obsession.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: The acting, the uh everything really was just really good.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: I loved the way it was shot.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: That's a good movie.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and the plot was great, so that that's why I put it at one.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, obviously I can't complain.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: I thought obviously I thought Spider-Man Brand New Day Brand New Day would be one for you.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Um, I guess the only thing I would have quarrel I would have is the Odyssey at five, but it's still a top five.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Uh and I I'm just not as high on it as everybody else.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Which is understandable.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it's not it's not a bad list.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Let us know what your top five movies of are this year.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Um I feel like a lot will be similar to this.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: Seems like these ones.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I just don't know how many people have watched the sheep detective.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm not saying that one in particular, but a lot of those.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sure they will be.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: And don't be turned off by the sheet detective.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: If you've ever seen it, you or ever you see it, like when you're scrolling through, you need to watch it.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: It's another movie.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: It's fun.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Um, we I did a review on that uh a couple episodes ago as well.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: That was pretty quick, top five.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: We knew it would be, but um you can get right into our fun segment.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: I'm going to need you though to exit the room.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Exit the room.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: While I tell everybody what the characters are.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: And then I'll also let y'all know when I'm about to say them if you want to play along, but just for we ain't quite at the editing yet, or I can just put the uh characters on screen, so I'm gonna go ahead and tell them.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, so if you want to play along, go ahead and skip ahead about 30 seconds.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Uh but we're going to do a segment where we do seven characters and 15 words.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: So I will have seven characters.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: I have to give one word hints, and so say I give um like say it's like Scooby-Doo, who's not on here, and they are a uh like I could give like eats, and then if Brandon knows that like Scooby-Doo eats a lot, if or if he doesn't, I could say ghosts or something.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: If he gets it on the second word, we move on, and that's two words, and then we just get to 15.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: You'll you'll cat catch on as we go along, but the characters are Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Captain Jack Sparrow, Shikamaru from Naruto, Joker from Batman, Sasha from Attack on Titan, and Alan the Alien from Incredible.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: Or yeah, from Invincible.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Alright, Brandon.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: I wonder if you heard me.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Brandon! He's on the way back now.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Also gave a little bit of a rundown.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I thought about the challenge of me getting back in here.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Because that was like this.
- 20:36unknown: Oh.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Closing my ears.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Well, I had a holler for you twice, so it was a little awkward, but it's fine.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: So seven characters, fifteen words.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Like I said, I'm gonna give you one word hints.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: So we're trying to get in the least amount of words.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: At least try to get in fifteen.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: There's only seven characters.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: Once you get it, we move on to the next person, so that next word will be for that person.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: When we the when we first do this, we might do this a couple times.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: Um the first time we do this, today we are going I'm going to do use easier words.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: I'm never gonna say the name of the character or the movie or whatever that they're in, but I might do easier words.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: So have you already came up with the words you're gonna choose or just the characters?
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: I've come up with the first word I use for each one.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: So, first one is webs.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Spider-Man.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Spider-Man.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Alright, one word.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: Okay, wait, are these getting harder as we go?
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Some of them will be harder, some of them will be easier.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Um But like I said, I won't use super specific words going forward.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: This is the first time doing this, so I'm taking it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Let's go with Lat Varia.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Doom.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Doctor Doom.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: Alright, two words.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Doctor Doom.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Third character.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Rum.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: Rum?
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with Captain Jack Sparrow.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Captain Jack Sparrow.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Three in three words.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: We got plenty of words to play with.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: We might make it seven characters in ten words.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Because I'm gonna this one's gonna it might make you mad when I'm saying goat.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Um that could be so many different things.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: I had to throw it in there though.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Just for me.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: I had to throw it in there.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Um as a goat, who would your goat be?
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Red Hood?
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, that's my goat, but he's my goat of well, we'll see.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Alright, next word, shadows.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Batman?
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: Ninja.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: Ninja.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: In the shadows.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: A ninja goat?
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: What in the world?
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: What would be a goat?
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: In the shadows and is a ninja.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: You're thinking about the shadows a little bit wrong.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Um.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Well, I was thinking like the ninja turtles, but that I don't think that would be goat, and I don't think that would you would be able to say ninja.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: No, I wouldn't.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: Dude, what?
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: I don't understand.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: What do you mean I'm thinking about shadows wrong?
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Do we need another word?
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: We have plenty to play with.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: That's why I use go.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: How many words are we at?
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: One, two, three, four, five, six.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Ooh, okay.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: But there's only three characters left.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess give me another word.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Um, let's.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: What if I just never get this one?
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: No, that's possible.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Um, let's go with.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was something good.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Come on now.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Leaf.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, dang it, bro.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: Shikamaru.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Shikamaru.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Dang, I should have gotten that shadow.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: So does that.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: You should say shit.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: Man, yeah, I should have got that easy.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Leaf gave the way.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: That's the one I got you.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know if this is one word.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna use it as one word.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Arch nemesis.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Arch nemesis.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm gonna go legit.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: Laugh.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Joker.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Joker.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: I was in between those two, darn it.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: How many words is that?
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: So we have six words for two people.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: This next one's hard.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Easy.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, go ahead.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Potatoes.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: Potatoes.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Oh, uh, Yelena.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Scout.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Scout?
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Potatoes for Elena is good.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: Uh Scout.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: I recently started re-watching this.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: What this person's in.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: I feel like.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: And the first time you're introduced to them, or one of the first times potatoes are involved.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: Potatoes are involved?
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: We might not get it.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Because I was thinking like Toy Story.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Because I was thinking Toy Story.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Uh because they got potatoes.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: And they got the slinky dog, but I don't think he's anymore.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: His name ain't Scout.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: Uh Scout.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Scout's gotta be a dog.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: No?
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: Uh give me the you gotta give me another word.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Regimen.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: Oh! Oh, what is her name?
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, we might be cooked.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, we might be cooked.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: I'll give it to you.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: She's got the She's got the glasses.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Don't she?
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: She don't have glasses.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, well then.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: I know who it is, but I didn't couldn't remember if she had glasses.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: But she's always eating.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Honji has the glasses.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not Hanji.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: Uh she dies.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: There's I'm not gonna get her name.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: I can't think of their names.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: Her name is Sasha.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Ah, yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: We'll take off a word for that.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: So we're at 11 words, I think.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: I was never gonna get it.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Dang it.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this one.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: We have four words, so I'm gonna start with.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's so hard because it's kind of in his name.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: Cyclops.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: Wait, we should count like three words for that last one.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: Well, Cyclops is your word.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Cyclops?
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Let's see where we're at, yeah.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Um Cyclops.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Now think about it.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't use it if it was the Cyclops in the Odyssey.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Even though he has a name, I wouldn't say that.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Um it wouldn't be just Cyclops.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: So it's just Cyclops.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: Like Yeah, one eye?
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to think of who that could be.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Who just got one eye?
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Be looking around.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: Not very much.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: We still got two words, though, right?
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, two words.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: He's just got one eye?
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Well, we would still have We were at eleven, and then you said we should have two.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: We would still have three, but I think we should just give you two more.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: Um I don't know.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: Give me another word.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Orange.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Orange with one eye?
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Orange.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: I think you should get it now.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: You think I should?
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Orange with one eye.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: I bet I could get it here in a minute, but it's gonna take me about 40 minutes.
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: That's not here in a minute, though.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: That's important.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: Orange, he's orange.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: And he's got Oh my gosh.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: No, there's one person I'm thinking of.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: There's no way it's it.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Well.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Like, well Is they orange with one eye?
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: But this is an orange guy.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Like, this is an orange.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: What I'm thinking of.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: No.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I'm talking about though?
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Yes, like the YouTube thing.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: He has two eyes.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: And a mouth.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: I feel like he's just got one eye and him.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Um maybe he has two eyes.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: Um, okay, this guy's orange and has one.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: Give me the final word.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: So I was gonna use a different final word, but I realize it's at the end of his name, kind of.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: So I will use.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Oh no, for a final word.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: You think these people have already gotten it?
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Well, some of them already know what it is, because I told them.
- 28:23SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: But some people that really like this media that it's from would you really like this media is from.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go animated.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: See, I feel like I'm not thinking Animated's the final word.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: Animated orange person with one eye.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: From something you really like.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, uh the only person I can think of with one eye, there's no way you would pull and he's not orange.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, he has lava powers.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: The guy I'm thinking of.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: That's not the right guy.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Dude, what?
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Uh I was thinking of Jogo, I think is his name.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: He's Jogo, yeah.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: He's got one eye.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Um okay, so it's an animated show.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: He's got one eye and he's orange.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: And I like it.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Are you sure?
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: And I would have said anime if it was anime, but it's not technically.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: It's just animated Alan.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: Alan the alien.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: He gave me too many hints, bro.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: That was hard.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: No, there's no way I was.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have to say you don't pass.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: I don't think I do either.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: Because of Sasha, the last two.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: I knew the last two would get you a little bit.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: I just that it's tough.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: It's just like the same thing that you went through with uh guest the character.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Is there's so many different characters I'm trying to go to.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: I can't believe you went to Jogo first.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: I can't believe you went to the orange from YouTube.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: He popped into my head.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: See, that's just the weird things that happen when you're put on the spot, okay?
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: What is that orange name?
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: Orange?
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: He's just orange.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: Uh he's gotta be just orange or the orange.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, don't watch that.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Watch Invincible.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Or JJK.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: JJK.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: We'll do that again at some point.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I liked it.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I liked it.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: We need to do it like on the spot, where you're giving me name like I wonder how we could do it where you get characters given to you.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: And then you just have to do it on the spot.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: Maybe we'll have a special guest.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Someone like feeds me characters.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: I got you.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that was cool.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: I failed, probably, yeah.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: I failed the one you did too.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: So eventually we'll get better at this, hopefully.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: Let us know how y'all did.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: I'm sure some of y'all did pretty good for some of them.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: But you started off hot.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: You went three for three on three words and we lost.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: We had foot we did four words and four characters and eleven words and last.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: I I was just never getting Sasha.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: I there's n I just can't remember their names.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: I just started re-watching it recently, so it's in my head.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: Like I would have got it anyway, because I remember all their names.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: Like uh Bear Tolt and uh Rina.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Rhina and Bear.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: Can you get that one?
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: No.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: And any other one?
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: Like I I have them in my head, and like I can see them, but I just can't think of their names.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: Can you name any of the other ones?
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: Um Armin.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Um to go just Scout Regiment that are not the main characters.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: No, I can't.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Like I can't even name Connie, John.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: I I mean Con they all I know which ones you're talking about, but I I wouldn't have been able to do that.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Well, no big movie review.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: We'll review, we'll have a bigger review for X-Men 97 once Brandon gets caught up with it.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: Um, for our Marvel people out there.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: But other than that, we're gonna go into our watch list review.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: Woohoo!
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: I don't think.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: So I gave Brandon seven.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: He gave me hereditary.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Um, so I think who started last time?
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Okay, we need to establish do we want these people to have the ability to watch this without spoilers?
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: Like, like, watch watch these movies after us.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Like these are almost recommendations to them.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: So we want to go over it kind of without spoiling it.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so for the most part, we're recommending older movies.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: But yes, so we will um yeah, let's well, no, because I like to I want to get into the one I watch.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: Spoilers ahead for Hereditarian 7.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: You should you can watch them, and that's a good idea.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: If you want to follow along on these watch list recommendations, it we are recommending them to each other, but recommending them to you as well.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: They're movies that we like or think the other person would like.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: So we can watch them and let us let us know as well, but yeah.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Well, spoiler tag right here for those.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: We can always just do like a non-spoiler and then go into spoilers.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: We can start with what we're recommending to each other.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: So that way if they don't want to be spoiled, they can just skip to the end.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna be giving Brandon Goodwill hunting.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: Nice to watch.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Dude, Dave's been get wanting me to watch that so like he's been telling me so many things.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: There's been complaints about giving him psychological thrillers.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: So he's gonna watch goodwill.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: And I like to watch movies with my girlfriend Perry, so.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: Uh but okay, so I'm gonna give you.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: I know you we've talked about this in the past, and you didn't want to do this.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: But I just want to do it 28 days later.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: I want you to watch it.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: And I'm you can already guess, I'm gonna have you watch 28 weeks later, and then 28 years later, and then I want to watch Bone Temple with you.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: At the same time.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: Does that make sense?
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: Because I've been wanting to watch it.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Uh it doesn't have to be your watch my watch list recommendation that week or whatever, and I'll just watch it and we can talk about it.
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: But I do want to watch that, and you need to watch 28 days later anyways, and that whole franchise.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: So that's what I'm gonna go with.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Scary movie, scary movie, scary movie.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: It's not that scary.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just more of a I don't know, thriller action thing, kinda.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: So Goodwill Hunting, 28 Days Later.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Days, yes.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: So that's that.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: If you don't want spoilers for these other movies, maybe you um are watching along with us and you got to this part before you finish watching it, then go ahead and skip but to the end, because we'll be done after this.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: But we're going ahead and get into it.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll go ahead and start.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: So I gave Hokum a 75, I'm pretty sure.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: So another scary movie, so that's why I kind of relate it to that.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: I gave this one an 80 out of a hundred.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: I've heard really good things about hereditary how it's one of the best scary movies of all time.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: I will say I only knew two things about it, which is the uh electric pole scene, the with the daughter, the light pole, the light pole, I guess, is what it is.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: And then the I didn't you knew about that classroom scene where he bangs his head on the table.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: That's the only one I knew.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: I didn't know about it.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: So I knew about those, I knew they were coming, and I will say they still got me.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: So I didn't know nothing about I didn't know who she was in the car with, like who was driving.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: I didn't obviously didn't know the implications of that afterwards and how the effect it had on the character.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: Stuff like that.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: And I didn't know how early it happened.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: Like uh, I thought that was like things were already going super crazy.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: And then it happened.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: I you know what I mean?
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: If you would have asked me, I would have switched the two around, probably.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I thought she was I mean, she is an important the daughter is a very important character in hereditary.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: I thought she was like closer to a main character throughout the whole thing.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: What do you mean you'd switch those two around?
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: Talk about the two scenes?
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: The two scenes.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: I would have thought that that other one happened like when things start going crazy.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: Okay and then that's like the end, like Oh, you thought that was like the Not the end, but that's like the big thing that happens right then.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: So so it was still surprising to me.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: But when the scene started to unfold, I was like, oh my gosh, here we go.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: I didn't see how long I was in the movie.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: When I watched it, I hadn't I didn't know anything about that, so it was just all just like a whoa.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: And that scene we're talking about is it's a little before halfway through the movie.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: The daughter of the family goes with the older brother to a party.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: She's allergic to nuts.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: She eats a cake that had nuts in it, and she goes and finds her brother, and he's like hot getting high, and she's like, can't breathe, so they get in the car and she's like taking her to the hospital, and she starts freaking out, freaking out, like like she can't breathe, her throat's swelling up.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: So she rolls the window down to get fresh air.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: There's a dead animal on the road.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: He swerves to miss the dead animal, and as her head's out the this is not even spoiler warning.
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: This is just straight specifics.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, gruesome warning.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Her as you can imagine, they swerve to the side of the road, her head's out the window, and they pass a light pole.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: Um needless to say, they get back to the house and her head is still by the light pole.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: I can't so he I I'm trying to remember.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: He knew that it happened when it happened, and he just drove all the way home, right?
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: So he's sitting there.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: He I mean he can obviously tell.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: He knew he knows because he heard it hit and he's and he like looks up to the rear view mirror and sees just like the shoulder, but you can see enough right here to see that something's not really there, and you can see the blood and stuff.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: And then he gets there, he parks the car and goes inside.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: See, all I remember from these movies when I'm recommending them is like how like good they were, whatever, but these specific details that are in them that you go back over.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: So I won't just like say the whole plot and everything, but a few things of note.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: Uh this movie did the small things very well.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: Um, one thing you notice, which is it's such an obvious thing that you wouldn't even think about, and then once you realize it, you're like, oh yeah, duh, is they got rid of the car.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: It's never there again.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: He has to ride that bike everywhere because there's no extra car.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: There's just that one car there.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: So the car he took, they got rid of it, and it's like the next scene, it's gone.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: Another thing that was interesting is the first fourth of the movie, every time they step inside, the dad says, Take your shoes off, or like take your socks off, because one time she was walking outside without shoes on.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: As soon as she the daughter passes away, that doesn't matter.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: They they're walking upstairs with their shoes on.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: There's even one scene where he looks at their looks at his son's feet and just like doesn't say anything, but you like barely see it because like zoomed out and you see him like look down, like he's gonna say something.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: So that's a small thing that's also like you can see like he's like resting on his laurels, like he's like that's something that's like big to hit the dad.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: Like, take your shoes off when you go upstairs, whatever, and then all of a sudden it's like the it's just a small part of the family starting to kind of fall apart a little bit, but that the small things like that in a movie I really love, and those are the kind of things I try to pick out when I'm watching a movie.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: Um it made me feel like it like all good horror movies will make you feel that way.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: All good mov movies in general make you feel what the characters feel.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: I felt like stressed enough that I could have been the brother the whole time.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Like it made I was stressed out and like I was sad, like in the same headspace, it was made me feel it was crazy.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Um like I said, I was still shook by the scenes I knew were coming.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: Even when they happened, I was not ready for them, even the banging his head on that.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: And it also gave a little bit of a um obsession vibe because he's like he does it, does it, and then the last time he does it, it's like he's realizing he like jumps back and like he comes out.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: So that was pretty cool.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Um Tony Collette, the mom.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: I've heard this a thousand times about this movie.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: She's the best part about it as far as the acting goes.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: She has a bunch of monologues, long scenes where she's talking a bunch, and she does really, really well.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: She plays a terrible character.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: I thought she was awesome in it.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: The dad's always just trying to keep the family together, and I think but she plays that character so well.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: Um the use of sounds away from the camera.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: So it happens twice that are notable, and both times, like, didn't make me jump, but made me feel, and it's when so after the daughter dies, when the son's driving, he just drives home with the body still in the car and goes upstairs, goes to sleep, because he's in shock.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: He's like, he can't process it.
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: And the next scene is him with his eyes open, laying in bed, and you hear the mom and the dad like getting up, they're like, Oh, what do you want for breakfast?
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: What do you want?
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: Blah blah blah blah.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: And they're just like talking, talking, talking.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Then you hear the front door open, close, and then just screams.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: Like, and it goes on for a minute, and the whole time it's just showing the brother laying in bed.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: And as and like as his eyes start to get watery and stuff.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: So that was one.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the next one was whenever she realizes her the mom realizes her mom, so the grandmother grandmother for the brother that her body's upstairs.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: And she's like, wakes up her husband and she's like, go look upstairs, or goes and tells him, like, go look upstairs.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: She's like, I think that's her.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: She doesn't have a head, but I think that's her.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: She's upstairs.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: And it shows her like going to get the daughter's notebook to burn it, and she's just standing there, and you hear him go, Oh my! Like you hear him like freak out and like get stressed, and then bump his head on something on his way out.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: He's like, Oh gosh, and he like walks down.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Like you can you can see in your head exactly what's going on in the scenes, and it's just it's showing something else, and you can hear it.
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: And I thought they did that really well.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: They probably did it more than just that, but that was something I really noticed.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: Um and then the only thing that took it out for me was like a lot of horror movies do this, it's something kind of crazy is going on, you unravel the plot, and then the very end is this open-ended, wild ending.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: And I think it's used a little bit too much.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: I don't necessarily like all the time.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: I like whenever the good guys or the main characters don't win or whatever.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: I like to have that mixed in there sometimes, but the it seemed like like you knew there was this kind of like haunting, and they were conjuring the daughter back from wherever and doing these seances, and then you there was like the hints of this cult basically that was trying to raise this god or something from the dead, which was all that stuff was the worst part of the movie for me.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: I liked the haunting and the emotional parts of all the family and what they were doing with from the grief way more than I liked all that.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: And then at the end, it was just this one big crazy s like scene in the house at night where the cult get what's say gets what they want, but then like the whole it's just it was a little bit too much, and it was the big climax to all the parts of the movie that I liked the least.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: So that's that I left feeling not unfulfilled, but like, okay, yeah, sure.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: Um that's what dropped it down to I didn't want to drop it below 80 because I thought I thought it was not a good bit, but definitely better than Hokum.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: Um but I it dropped it for me.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: I think it's way better than Hokum.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: I mean it definitely is, but it that I don't know.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: I just didn't vibe with that whole plot, and then that is what ended it.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: So yeah, that's my review for Hereditary.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: I still thought it was good, very spooky.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: One that I'll have a hard time watching again, but I want to because it's so good.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: Now that you're talking about it, I do kind of want to watch it again and just really pay attention to all the details, isn't it?
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: Because I can't even remember when I watched it and how young I was, but I just remember liking it.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: Um but like opposite of you, for seven, I felt like the climax and the ending was the best part of the movie.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: I told you, I said it in the last episode, the ending is pretty joking.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: I've uh I'll get into that a little bit here in a like in a probably at the end, towards the end.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: But some things that I liked about it, Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: I mean really good.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: Uh honestly, Morgan Freeman, like sleeper might be I don't even think sleeper for most people is.
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know, but like your age for sure.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: Everything that he's in.
- 43:24SPEAKER_00: Even my age, if people my age still.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: He plays a character, I mean, he's always I feel like his character's always kind of like dang.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's good.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: Uh that's another one I want to recommend you, but I didn't because of Shaw Shank Redemption.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: I'll watch it.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: He's really good in that movie, too.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, cool.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: That'll be a recommendation at some point.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Um like I said, the ending.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Pretty devastating.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: Um but I I mean, it was good.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: Favorite part.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: I did like the aesthetic, the rain aesthetic that was throughout the whole movie was cool.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: However, oh I didn't give you my rating.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: My rating, I gave it like a 70 out of 100.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: Um, which is still good.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: That's pretty good for me.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: Your last movie you rated was a 30.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Uh the reason I gave it a 70, I did like it.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: Um it was a I feel like it was a really good movie, like really well made.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: I just the how gruesome it was, not for me.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: I told you it was gonna be though.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: I I mean it obviously makes sense for what the movie is, um, but it's just hard.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: It's a hard watch, probably one I'll never watch again, unless Perry just really wants to.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: I've watched it a couple times.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Have you really?
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: I I just can't see myself watching it again.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Um It's one that if I'm in the mood for something like that and I'm scrolling down and I see it, that's one of the ones I'm gonna pick.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: That's literally what I was fixing to say.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: If y'all are wanting to watch it, you've gotta be in a certain mood to watch it.
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: Because yeah.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: But even I mean, today I wasn't really when I watched it, but I still liked it.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: So you don't have to necessarily, but it definitely would help.
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: Um I felt like it was there was some action, but not a lot.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: I felt like there's like a chase scene in it that's that was pretty cool, kind of silly at the end, but it was cool.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: Um it was like s I felt like it was slow paced.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: Um and then obviously the different murders that happened and uh that kind of like, whoa, and then it goes back to being slow, but it was good.
- 45:33SPEAKER_01: It made sense.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Um The climax was I mean very late, like right at the end.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: This is I mean, the best part for me was the end.
- 45:44SPEAKER_01: Uh if you've guys seen it.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: If you haven't, then just skip this, because it's it'll hit harder if you watch it on your own.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: Um, but the murderer ends up killing the main character's wife, and he finds out and he goes through this stage where he's like, doesn't know what to do.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Um his partner's trying to talk him down.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: Uh and honestly, for a second there, I thought he was going to.
- 46:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:13SPEAKER_01: Uh I've seen I guess I've seen that scene where he's holding the uh gun at him.
- 46:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the pew pew.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the pew pew, yeah.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: Are we allowed to say that?
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: If we're gonna clip it and put it on somewhere, we can't say that.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's fine.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, but he's holding it at him, and he's just tears coming to his eyes.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: I think that's the best part.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: Not really coming, like he is trying to come to terms with what just happened, trying to like battle internally.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: It like, is this real?
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: Is this is this actually what happened?
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: Um that and also is this worth the rest of my life?
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: Basically, my life is over if if I do this.
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and uh like for people to listen, who is he pointing the gun at?
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: Like the main yeah, the main killer.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: So because it deals with the seven deadly sins, and that's like who he's killing, and the last one is Brad Pitt's character.
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: Or like in like Yeah, that that was all.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so he's he did that knowing Brad Pitt, like he's his hot hair would be wrath.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: He was envy.
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: Which was really cool.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, because you're you're seeing he has this elaborate plan to show them the last two bodies for the last two sins, and you don't know what it is, you know it's gonna be something crazy, you know it's gonna affect all of them.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: Um you're just kind of waiting, and the way it sets it up is pretty cool.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, like they got the bad guy.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, they have him.
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, and then he still gets his way.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: And the only thing I wish they would have had is a little bit like more with uh Mills, Brad Pitt's character, and like what happened to him after.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: He was just in the car, they said take like Morgan Freeman's character said, take care of him.
- 48:08SPEAKER_01: We'll give whatever he needs, but you don't see him, and then it just ends, it's just over.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: I would like to see what happened to him, uh what like what his future holds now that he did that, but it was pretty crazy.
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: Someone that psychotic and crazy as a serial killer was he was right.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: Like his whole idea is like you can't like you can't escape these different like greed and lust and gluttony.
- 48:33SPEAKER_00: Like, once you get into it, that's that's who you are, you can't escape it.
- 48:36SPEAKER_00: That's human nature, pretty much, and that's what he was trying to show and portray.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: Like, this is dude's like crazy, and then at the end he gets he proves his point.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: I also do wish they would have showed more, because the whole thing is supposed to be that he's envious of Mills and really like admires him, which they do a little bit, calls him and stuff, but it seems like a joke almost.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: Like he's just playing a prank on him.
- 49:01SPEAKER_01: I wish they would have kind of dove a little deeper into that so you really felt it at the end, like yeah, he he was envious of him, and he really was envy.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: Um because when he said he went to his apartment and met his wife, I was like, okay, like what?
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: And he said he wanted to s see what it was like to be him.
- 49:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: I was like, what?
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: I was like, that doesn't make where did that come from?
- 49:24SPEAKER_01: But it made sense for the envy and then for him to be wrath, I guess.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: It was still really good.
- 49:31SPEAKER_01: Uh I would like a break from the psychological thriller, so yeah.
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: You got good old hunting now.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: Is it but that one's kinda what kind of movie is that?
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: It's psychological in it?
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: Not really.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: I mean not a thriller.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: Not really either.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: It's a romance, isn't it?
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, some comedy.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: Some, you know.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: It's not the same.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: It's really good though.
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: And I'm probably gonna watch it also this week.
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: That was that.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna watch 28 Days Later, and you're gonna watch Goodwill Hunting.
- 50:03SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: So if y'all wanna follow along and watch those as well, feel free.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: But other than that, that does it for uh episode 9 of the podcast.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: Um we'll be back on Thursday for some trivia.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: And then that about does it.
- 50:15SPEAKER_00: We appreciate you watching.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you listening.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: Bye.
