- 0:03SPEAKER_01: Hey there.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: I thought it might be a good idea to do a meditation for peace today.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: And when I talk about peace, I'm talking about peace within, peace between, and peace beyond.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: An inner, an outer, and a everywhere kind of peace.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: So find a comfortable position, seated or lying down, and allow your body to be supported, whatever you decide.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Remember, there's nothing to fix.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: There's nothing to improve.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: There's nowhere to get.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: We're just arriving.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Take a moment simply to arrive.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: When you're ready, take a slow breath in for four, three, two, one.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: And exhale.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Three, two, one.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Take another slow breath or two in through the nose.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: And an unhurried breath through the mouth.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Once again, inhaling steadiness.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: And exhaling whatever you've been carrying.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Allow your breath to find its own natural rhythm.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: You've got this.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Takes a minute.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Takes a moment just to slow down.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Take the time you need here.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: It's very important.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: When you're ready, I want you to bring your attention gently to the space behind your eyes.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Go ahead and close them if you feel comfortable.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: The space behind your eyes, the place where thoughts rise and fall.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Imagine your mind as a wide sky.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Thoughts are like clouds.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Some are light and some are heavy.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: But the sky itself, the sky remains steady, untouched.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: You don't need to chase the clouds.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: You don't need to chase them away.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: You really do not need to analyze them.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: Peace doesn't come from stopping thought.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: It comes from not being pulled by your thoughts.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: It's an important distinction.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Silently repeat, if you're comfortable, I can observe without engaging.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: I can observe without engaging.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Let the breath anchor you.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Let it anchor you here, now, steady, present.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Enough.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Truly focus on this moment right now, listening to my voice or looking at my face, and knowing that we are simply here.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Right now.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Nothing to do.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Now shift your awareness to the center of your chest.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Imagine a soft, warm light there, not bright or dramatic.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Just steady.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: A kind light, an alive light.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: This is the place, and you could go ahead and put your hand there if you want.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: This is the place in your heart, your place of compassion.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: And compassion begins with yourself first.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: If there's been tension, regret, or self-judgment, acknowledge it without needing to resolve it.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Peace arises not from controlling outcomes, but from acting and being without attachment.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Silently offer yourself this phrase.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: May I be at peace with what is.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Let the warmth in your chest expand slightly with each breath.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Imagine that same gentle light extending beyond you into the room.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Your home, your community.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Picture the people that you love.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: People that you struggle with.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: People that you will never meet.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Picture them all and take another deep breath.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: You are not responsible for fixing the world.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: But your presence matters.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: You are not responsible for fixing the world.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: But your presence matters.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Silently repeat.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: May all beings experience moments of peace.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: May all beings experience moments of peace.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: Allow that intention to ripple outward like a stone dropped into still water.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Return your attention to your breath now, to your body, to the support beneath you.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Peace is not something that you have to hold on to.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: It's something that you can return to even briefly, even imperfectly.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Take one last nourishing breath in, and a soft, complete breath out.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Peace is not the absence of conflict.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: It's the presence of awareness right here, right now.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: When you're ready, gently open your eyes, bringing this quality of peace into whatever comes next.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Peace is not something that you must hold on to.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Peace is something that you can return to.
