April 15 - The Innocent One Who Bore Our Sin · Bible Chat Devotional

Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 15th.
• 0:11
When anger meets grace, anger can rise fast.
• 0:15
Sometimes it shows up before we even realize what is happening.
• 0:20
A disrespectful comment, unfair treatment, betrayal,
• 0:23
frustration, or being misunderstood can light
• 0:26
  something inside us almost instantly.
• 0:29
Proverbs chapter 14 verses 16 to 17 says one who is wise is
• 0:34
cautious and turns away from evil.
• 0:36
But a fool is hot headed and reckless.
• 0:39
A quick tempered man acts foolishly.
• 0:42
That is not because anger itself makes you evil, but because
• 0:45
unguarded anger can quickly take control and lead you somewhere
• 0:49
damaging. Then Isaiah 53 verse 7 gives us
• 0:53
one of the clearest pictures of Jesus.
• 0:55
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not his
• 0:58
mouth. And Mark chapter 15 shows him
• 1:01
enduring the cross, mocked and rejected, yet still walking in
• 1:06
surrender to the Father. Jesus had every right to respond
• 1:10
in wrath, yet He chose grace. He absorbed injustice without
• 1:14
becoming sinful in response to it.
• 1:16
That is powerful because it shows us what real strength
• 1:19
looks like. The world often treats
• 1:22
self-control like weakness, as if the strongest person is the
• 1:26
loudest one or the one who can hit back the hardest.
• 1:30
But Jesus shows that strength is not losing yourself in the
• 1:33
moment. Strength is staying rooted in
• 1:35
truth, love, and obedience even when you have been wounded.
• 1:40
This does not mean you ignore wrong things or pretend hurt
• 1:43
does not matter. Grace is not pretending
• 1:45
everything is OK. It is choosing to let God shape
• 1:49
your response instead of letting anger rule your heart.
• 1:53
You can be honest about pain without becoming reckless with
• 1:56
your words. You can address what is wrong
• 1:59
without surrendering your peace. If there is anger sitting in
• 2:02
your heart today, bring it to Jesus.
• 2:05
Let Him meet you there. Ask Him to show you what is
• 2:07
  underneath it. Hurt, fear, pride,
• 2:10
disappointment. He can heal what your anger has
• 2:13
been trying to protect, and He can teach you to respond with
• 2:15
wisdom, courage, and grace. Let's pray.
• 2:19
Heavenly Father, thank you for showing me real strength through
• 2:22
Jesus. When anger rises in me, help me
• 2:25
pause and surrender it to You. Guard my words, my reactions,
• 2:29
and my heart from recklessness. Teach me to respond with wisdom
• 2:33
and grace, not pride or bitterness.
• 2:35
Heal the places in me that are hurting and help my life reflect
• 2:39
the patience and love of Christ in Jesus name, Amen.
• 2:47
What if you could rise up and declare with full spiritual
• 2:49
authority, I shall not die, but live?
• 2:53

Bible reading plan. Proverbs Chapter 14 verses 16 to

17 World English Bible A wise man fears and shuns evil, but
• 3:58
the fool is hot headed and reckless.
• 4:01
He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty
• 4:04
man is hated. Isaiah chapter 53 World English
• 4:08
Bible Who has believed our message?
• 4:11
To whom has Yahweh's arm been revealed?
• 4:14
For he grew up before him as a tender plant and as a root out
• 4:17
of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty.
• 4:21
When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire
• 4:24
him. He was despised and rejected by
• 4:27
men, A man of suffering and acquainted with disease.
• 4:30
He was despised as one from whom men hide their face, and we
• 4:34
didn't respect him. Surely he has borne our sickness
• 4:38
and carried our suffering. Yet we considered him plagued,
• 4:41
struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our
• 4:44
transgressions. He was crushed for our
• 4:47
iniquities. The punishment that brought our
• 4:49
peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
• 4:52
All we, like sheep, have gone astray.
• 4:55
Everyone has turned to His own way, and Yahweh has laid on Him
• 4:59
the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, yet when he
• 5:02
was afflicted He didn't open His mouth.
• 5:05
As a lamb that has led to the slaughter and as a sheep that
• 5:08
before its shearers is silent, so he didn't open his mouth.
• 5:12
He was taken away by oppression and judgment.
• 5:15
As for his generation, who considered that He was cut off
• 5:18
out of the land of the living and stricken for the
• 5:21
disobedience of My people, they made His grave with the wicked
• 5:25
and with a rich man. In his death, although he had
• 5:27
done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth, yet it
• 5:31
pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused Him to suffer.
• 5:36
When you make His soul an offering for sin, He will see
• 5:38
His offspring, He will prolong His days, and Yahweh's pleasure
• 5:42
will prosper in His hand. After the suffering of his soul,
• 5:46
He will see the light and be satisfied.
• 5:49
My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of
• 5:52
Himself, and He will bear their iniquities.
• 5:55
Therefore I will give him a portion with the great.
• 5:59
He will divide the plunder with the strong.
• 6:01
Because He poured out his soul to death and was counted with
• 6:04
the transgressors, yet He bore the sins of many and made
• 6:08
  intercession for the transgressors.
• 6:11
Mark Chapter 15 World English Bible Immediately in the morning
• 6:16
the chief priests, with the elders, scribes, and the whole
• 6:19
  council held a consultation bound.
• 6:22
Jesus carried him away and delivered him up to Pillate.
• 6:26
Pillate asked him, Are you the King of the Jews?
• 6:28
He answered, So you say. The chief priests accused him of
• 6:31
many things. Pillate again asked him, Have
• 6:34
you no answer? See how many things they testify
• 6:37
against you? But Jesus made no further
• 6:40
answer, so that Pillate marveled now at the feast.
• 6:43
He used to release to them one prisoner, whomever they asked of
• 6:46
Him. There was one called Barabbas,
• 6:49
bound with his fellow insurgents, men who in the
• 6:52
  insurrection had committed murder.
• 6:54
The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he
• 6:58
always did for them. Pillate answered them, saying,
• 7:02
Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?
• 7:05
For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered
• 7:08
him up. But the chief priests stirred up
• 7:11
the multitude that he should release Barabbas to them
• 7:14
instead. Pillate again asked them, What
• 7:17
then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?
• 7:20
They cried out again. Crucify him, Pillate said to
• 7:23
them, Why, what evil has he done?
• 7:26
But they cried out exceedingly. Crucify him.
• 7:29
Pillate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to
• 7:33
them and handed over Jesus. When he had flogged him to be
• 7:37
crucified, the soldiers led him away within the court which is
• 7:41
the Praetorium, and they called together the whole cohort.
• 7:45
They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns,
• 7:48
they put it on him. They began to salute him.
• 7:51
Hail King of the Jews. They struck his head with a Reed
• 7:54
and spat on Him, and bowing their knees, did homage to Him.
• 7:59
When they had mocked Him, they took the purple cloak off him
• 8:02
and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify Him.
• 8:06
They compelled 1 passing by, coming from the country, Simon
• 8:10
of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with
• 8:14
them, that he might bear his cross.
• 8:17
They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is being
• 8:20
interpreted the place of a skull.
• 8:22
They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn't
• 8:25
  take it. Crucifying him.
• 8:28
They parted his garments among them, casting lots on them what
• 8:31
each should take. It was the third hour when they
• 8:34
crucified him. The superscription of his
• 8:37
accusation was written over him, the king of the Jews.
• 8:40
With him they crucified 2 robbers, 1 on his right hand and
• 8:44
one on his left. The Scripture was fulfilled
• 8:47
which says He was counted with transgressors.
• 8:50
Those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and
• 8:53
saying, Ha, you who destroy the temple and build it in three
• 8:58
days, save yourself and come down from the cross.
• 9:01
Likewise also the chief priests, mocking among themselves with
• 9:04
the scribes, said He saved others, he can't save himself.
• 9:09
Let the Christ the King of Israel now come down from the
• 9:12
cross, that we may see and believe Him.
• 9:15
Those who were crucified with him also insulted Him.
• 9:19
When the 6th hour had come, there was darkness over the
• 9:22
whole land until the 9th hour. At the 9th hour, Jesus cried
• 9:26
with a loud voice saying Eloy Eloy, Lama Sabachthani, which is
• 9:31
being interpreted, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
• 9:35
Some of those who stood by when they heard it said, Behold, he
• 9:39
is calling Elijah. One ran and filling a sponge
• 9:42
full of vinegar, put it on a Reed and gave it to him to
• 9:44
drink, saying let him be, let's see whether Elijah comes to take
• 9:49
him down. Jesus cried out with a loud
• 9:52
voice and gave up the spirit. The veil of the temple was torn
• 9:55
in two from the top to the bottom.
• 9:58
When the centurion who stood by opposite him saw that he cried
• 10:01
out like this and breathed his last, he said truly, this man
• 10:05
was the Son of God. They were also women watching
• 10:08
from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene and Mary the
• 10:12
mother of James the Less, and of Hosea's and Salome, who, when he
• 10:17
was in Galilee, followed him and served him and many other women
• 10:21
who came up with him to Jerusalem.
• 10:24
When evening had now come, because it was the preparation
• 10:27
day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, Joseph of Arimathea, A
• 10:32
prominent council member, who also himself was looking for
• 10:35
God's Kingdom, came. He boldly went into Pillate and
• 10:40
asked for Jesus body. Pillate was surprised to hear
• 10:43
that he was already dead, and summoning the centurion, he
• 10:47
asked him whether he had been dead long.
• 10:50
When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body
• 10:52
to Joseph. He bought a linen cloth and
• 10:55
taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth and laid him in
• 10:58
a tomb which had been cut out of a rock.
• 11:01
He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
• 11:04
Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Jose is saw where he

was laid. Thanks for joining us on Bible
