- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to the favorites presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We are an action network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz, your
- 0:17Speaker 1: host back at it with the first lady of Ireland.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We'll get to that in a second. Kendra Middleton on
- 0:23Speaker 1: today's episode, bold predictions revealed some of which are We've
- 0:28Speaker 1: blurted out before some are brand spanking new, who knows
- 0:32Speaker 1: what direction this takes us in, but we'll get to
- 0:34Speaker 1: that momentarily. A programming note, starting after week one of
- 0:37Speaker 1: the NFL season, we're going to be moving to Mondays
- 0:40Speaker 1: and Thursdays. So we'll have fresh reaction for you on
- 0:44Speaker 1: that Monday show. And then a full preview of every
- 0:46Speaker 1: game on the slate on Thursdays and an injury update
- 0:49Speaker 1: from Dr. David Chow. So we will leave no stone unturned. Kendra,
- 0:54Speaker 1: where the hell are you?
- 0:56Speaker 2: I got back from Belfast this morning and I'm back
- 0:58Speaker 2: in Dublin until Friday doing work from home and eating
- 1:02Speaker 2: some nice dinners and going to a concert.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You're there for what? Is any particular reason? You were
- 1:09Speaker 1: at the UNC-TCU game, weren't you?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I came over here.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I have a bunch of friends that went to UNC
- 1:14Speaker 2: and then I finagled myself into working the game. And
- 1:20Speaker 2: then it was cheaper for me to fly back on
- 1:21Speaker 2: Friday than earlier in the week.
- 1:22Speaker 3: So here I am.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So you worked the game, which means you basically convinced
- 1:27Speaker 1: somebody to get you a media credential and you didn't
- 1:29Speaker 1: have to pay to go?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And put up a couple of Instagram posts.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I have one going live in a couple of hours, correct.
- 1:35Speaker 1: All right, fantastic.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I drank some beers, sat in the rain.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Did they serve Guinness at the stadium too? Is that
- 1:42Speaker 1: like everywhere you look in Ireland?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So yes, this is my second time being here. Um,
- 1:48Speaker 2: I have lots of recommendations if anybody would like them,
- 1:50Speaker 2: but I went to the Aviva stadium on Saturday and
- 1:53Speaker 2: then croak park on Saturday. sunday for bon jovi the
- 1:56Speaker 2: aviva was like aesthetically very pleasing but the food was
- 1:59Speaker 2: terrible so i just had to drink beers that was
- 2:02Speaker 2: my lunch and dinner um but yeah they have guinness
- 2:05Speaker 2: and then another like local cider company and they were
- 2:08Speaker 2: both very good i love guinness but i don't think
- 2:10Speaker 2: you can drink guinness for an entire day no no.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It's uh you throw it down yeah i think two
- 2:17Speaker 1: is a perfect amount of two and done Well, we'll
- 2:20Speaker 1: be happy to have you stateside again, but I'm glad
- 2:23Speaker 1: that we were able to make this work. I didn't
- 2:24Speaker 1: even know they had internet in Ireland.
- 2:26Speaker 3: So you learned Thursday show. I'll also be right here.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Wow. Okay.
- 2:30Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Well, let's get to some news items. We'll blast through these.
- 2:33Speaker 1: We've got our bold predictions coming up. We're feeling very fancy.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Both Kendra and I first time ever on the podcast,
- 2:39Speaker 1: both have collared shirts on. So, you know, shit's getting
- 2:42Speaker 1: real around here. Some news items. We'll start with Josh Jacobs.
- 2:48Speaker 1: He basically was told you don't have to go home,
- 2:50Speaker 1: but you can't stay here. He's getting the old Adrian
- 2:53Speaker 1: Peterson treatment, which is the commissioner exemption list, which means
- 2:58Speaker 1: that he's getting paid, but he can't be around the team.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And for now, he's not going to be playing in
- 3:03Speaker 1: any games moving forward. Is this a major downgrade for
- 3:06Speaker 1: you when it comes to the Green Bay Packers? Kind
- 3:09Speaker 1: of down last year, but he's still He's still their
- 3:12Speaker 1: best running back. You know, I know we're all hot
- 3:14Speaker 1: after Marshawn Lloyd and fantasy. I just drafted him this
- 3:17Speaker 1: past weekend, by the way, but downgrade for you before
- 3:20Speaker 1: we get to the personal stuff.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I think it's more of a downgrade for the NFL.
- 3:25Speaker 2: They seriously, I know that we have to let the
- 3:26Speaker 2: legal process of these things kind of play out, but
- 3:29Speaker 2: we know how this is going to go.
- 3:30Speaker 3: We know how this is going to end.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And we see the NFL trying to do all these
- 3:34Speaker 2: initiatives to get female fans more interested by integrating wags
- 3:37Speaker 2: and whatever the fuck else they're doing. And you're going
- 3:40Speaker 2: to go out there and be like, yeah, you can
- 3:41Speaker 2: do that and still play in the NFL and make
- 3:43Speaker 2: a lot of money. And about half an hour ago,
- 3:44Speaker 2: their general manager, Brian Gutekunst, came out and said that
- 3:47Speaker 2: he expects him to be back on the team this year.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So that tells me everything that I need to know.
- 3:51Speaker 2: He's going to be back eventually. You might be able
- 3:53Speaker 2: to get him in a late round of your fantasy
- 3:54Speaker 2: if you feel like having someone like that on your
- 3:55Speaker 2: fantasy team.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I personally do not know. But it's not that big
- 3:58Speaker 3: of a downgrade on the team for me.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It's more so just the NFL needs to pick a
- 4:02Speaker 2: lane and actually make an example out of someone when
- 4:05Speaker 2: this legal process plays out because we can't keep doing
- 4:07Speaker 2: the same old song and dance anymore.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah. And to have the general manager come out and
- 4:13Speaker 1: basically shrug his shoulders at it, it's just disappointing in
- 4:17Speaker 1: the way that this is handled. Look, everybody deserves their
- 4:19Speaker 1: day in court. And I have no idea what Josh
- 4:22Speaker 1: Jacobs did. So you don't want to assume guilt, but Um, I,
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think the NFL could stand to be a little
- 4:28Speaker 1: bit less flippant about this on the football side. He
- 4:32Speaker 1: did fall off a bit last year, 400 less rushing
- 4:34Speaker 1: yards in 2025 than he had in 2024, but he's
- 4:38Speaker 1: still a touchdown machine. And this is where I think
- 4:41Speaker 1: you do have to downgrade green Bay just a little
- 4:43Speaker 1: bit without Josh Jacobs. Like I get the Marshawn Lloyd
- 4:46Speaker 1: stuff and fantasy, but Josh Jacobs is a touchdown machine,
- 4:49Speaker 1: double digit touchdowns. in the last couple of years, he
- 4:52Speaker 1: was their best red zone scoring threat for a team
- 4:54Speaker 1: that ranked top 11 in red zone scoring. So without him,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you would think they're going to take a hit.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I mean, to be fair, I don't think what he,
- 5:03Speaker 2: I'm not, I'm not going to compare him and what
- 5:06Speaker 2: happened with James Pierce and whoever else.
- 5:08Speaker 3: But if James Pierce got eight games, I.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Mean, he's, he's probably not even going to miss that
- 5:12Speaker 2: many games when, and if he does return.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So The video. I mean, it's all going to come
- 5:17Speaker 1: down to that. And shame on all of you, by
- 5:19Speaker 1: the way, for resharing the Ray Rice video and pretending
- 5:23Speaker 1: like this is Josh Jacobs. It's way too much of
- 5:25Speaker 1: that going on.
- 5:25Speaker 2: If you did that, you need to go to therapy
- 5:28Speaker 2: and actually seek some counseling.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I'm so sick of men being like, why are we
- 5:33Speaker 3: all single? Why do girls not want to date us?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Why is this loneliness epidemic going on?
- 5:37Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Check your camera roll. Maybe that's probably why.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You know, never mind. I'm not going to get into it.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Aaron Donald has signed with the Rams. I know that
- 5:46Speaker 1: we're all shocked. He's 35. He hasn't played since 2023.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I still think that he can make an impact. I
- 5:53Speaker 1: think my biggest question is, do we expect him to
- 5:57Speaker 1: play in week one? They're not playing They're in Australia.
- 6:02Speaker 1: He just signed on with the team. I'm sure he's
- 6:05Speaker 1: in phenomenal shape. That's why I don't worry about Aaron Donald,
- 6:07Speaker 1: but I, and we've seen the line shift just a
- 6:10Speaker 1: little bit. Some of the juices shifted the way of
- 6:13Speaker 1: the LA Rams. People are just dying to bet on
- 6:15Speaker 1: this team. They went from plus five 50 to win
- 6:17Speaker 1: the super bowl to plus 500. And it looks like
- 6:20Speaker 1: they're taking some money in week one, but my gut
- 6:24Speaker 1: tells me Aaron Donald doesn't see the field until week two.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I kind of think he might just they've been edging
- 6:30Speaker 2: the fans for so long that I feel like between
- 6:34Speaker 2: them being like, oh, he's at the facility. Oh, he's
- 6:36Speaker 2: got a jersey on. Oh, he's got pads on. Oh,
- 6:39Speaker 2: my God.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Somebody touched him today on the field.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Like, I think because of the way that they have
- 6:44Speaker 2: rolled Aaron Donald out to the fans, he almost has
- 6:46Speaker 2: to play in week one. But I want to know,
- 6:49Speaker 2: are we going to continue to handicap the rest of
- 6:51Speaker 2: the games abroad the same way we kind of have
- 6:53Speaker 2: with London? Like whoever gets there first gets the significant advantage.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So have you heard about what the... I heard about
- 6:59Speaker 1: this yesterday, what the plan is. San Francisco is going
- 7:01Speaker 1: way early.
- 7:02Speaker 3: They should.
- 7:03Speaker 1: The Rams aren't showing up until hours before.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Get away from the machine, the electromagnetic fields.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Stay healthy.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Don't let it eat you.
- 7:10Speaker 1: They should have spent all of training camp. They should
- 7:12Speaker 1: have played their pre-ceasing games in Australia. But the Rams
- 7:15Speaker 1: are showing up hours before the game. They've done this
- 7:17Speaker 1: one other time and it worked. They did it last year.
- 7:20Speaker 1: It seems a little bit... Um, it seems like a
- 7:23Speaker 1: gamble to me to go that route. I don't know
- 7:26Speaker 1: exactly how to price that, but I would give it,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I would say advantage San Francisco. I don't like the
- 7:31Speaker 1: idea of, well, we'll just stay on the same body clock.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You're still fresh off of a, how, I mean, you
- 7:36Speaker 1: would know this transatlantic.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's like, how long does it take to get there?
- 7:40Speaker 1: 16 hours. Good Lord.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And like the thing, are they going to have lay
- 7:44Speaker 2: flat seats for every single one of their players and personnel?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Like that would be, how many planes I don't I
- 7:51Speaker 2: just I don't know how they're gonna make that work
- 7:52Speaker 2: and if they're even sitting in semi reclining chairs I'm
- 7:56Speaker 2: I might be on San Francisco I'm not kidding all.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Right we gotta find out we gotta find out what
- 8:00Speaker 1: the chair we were more interested in the chair situation
- 8:02Speaker 1: than Aaron Donald I actually think that it'll shape our.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Bet could you imagine sitting in a 16-hour flight not
- 8:09Speaker 2: on a lay flat bed and going out and playing
- 8:11Speaker 2: an NFL game I will absolutely be on San Francisco
- 8:14Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I am only half kidding when I say that, but
- 8:16Speaker 1: I think that that should absolutely be part of our analysis. Well,
- 8:20Speaker 1: we have to see. I'm not willing to bet it yet.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I got to find out what the.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Chair situation is like. Oh, no, but I'm saying potential
- 8:24Speaker 3: pod bet.
- 8:25Speaker 1: If we find out that they are in traditional chairs,
- 8:28Speaker 1: even if they're just like a little extra cushy, but
- 8:30Speaker 1: they're not lay flat, I'm with you. Pod bet on
- 8:32Speaker 1: the 49ers. All right. Coming up on today's pod.
- 8:36Speaker 3: The healthiest they'll be all year, so.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And they're not healthy, which is the funny part. But yes,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I could very well. I almost clicked the button already.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So it's not going to take much arm twisting to
- 8:47Speaker 1: get me on to San Francisco. Our wildest takes, our

- 9:39Speaker 1: It's time to go boldly or no man and woman
- 9:44Speaker 1: have gone before our top five bold predictions for the
- 9:49Speaker 1: upcoming NFL season. I have listed mine in the order
- 9:52Speaker 1: of the most tame and tepid to the wildest and wackiest.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I believe Kendra has done the same here.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Is that correct yes I behaved I have to say
- 10:05Speaker 2: for once I behaved.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm shocked I was told that some.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Of these damn.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It she's all buttoned up now she's gone corporate on
- 10:15Speaker 1: us I'm very curious to see where Miss Middleton takes
- 10:18Speaker 1: us here Full transparency. Kendra and I have no idea.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Usually we share notes before an episode. We have no
- 10:26Speaker 1: idea what either of us are going to say here.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So get us started.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I'm going to go with my team mistake is only
- 10:33Speaker 2: one team from the NFC North will be a playoff team.
- 10:36Speaker 2: And as you guys have heard me say for weeks now,
- 10:38Speaker 2: it's going to be the Lions, the Vikings, too tough
- 10:41Speaker 2: of a strength of schedule, Packers and Bears as well.
- 10:43Speaker 2: The division will just beat up on each other. And
- 10:45Speaker 2: I think other NFC teams are going to capitalize only
- 10:48Speaker 2: one NFC North team will make the playoffs. I know
- 10:51Speaker 2: that that's probably not the craziest thing, but people expect
- 10:54Speaker 2: this division to be really tough.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I just think they're going to cannibalize each other.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You've kind of been on that. So to plant the
- 11:00Speaker 1: flag using a show term on it on this segment
- 11:04Speaker 1: makes a lot of sense. I obviously disagree, but I
- 11:09Speaker 1: can kind of see where you're coming from. I'm down
- 11:11Speaker 1: on the Packers. The Bears have regression written all over them.
- 11:15Speaker 3: They have a tough schedule out of all of them.
- 11:18Speaker 1: And you've got to make a pretty strong assumption on
- 11:20Speaker 1: what Kyler Murray can be for Minnesota in order to
- 11:23Speaker 1: get in on them. I am, but I understand that
- 11:25Speaker 1: there is a leap involved in that. So the lions
- 11:29Speaker 1: very well could be, that would open up the door
- 11:31Speaker 1: for probably the NFC East. Like if, okay. So if
- 11:34Speaker 1: you're not getting multiple teams out of the North, then,
- 11:36Speaker 1: and we're definitely getting multiple teams out of the NFC West.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It does the NFC South have a surprisingly good year
- 11:44Speaker 1: or is it the East?
- 11:45Speaker 2: I think it's got to be the East because I
- 11:47Speaker 2: have high expectations for the Cowboys, which I think you
- 11:50Speaker 2: do as well. The Eagles have such a good defense
- 11:53Speaker 2: that even if Jalen Hurts kind of struggles or they
- 11:56Speaker 2: take a step back or Devontae Smith isn't capable of
- 11:58Speaker 2: being that number one that a lot of people think
- 12:00Speaker 2: he is, they might struggle. I mean, we watched them
- 12:02Speaker 2: last year be pretty much the same team in and
- 12:05Speaker 2: go two quarters a game without being able to produce
- 12:08Speaker 2: anything on the offensive side of the ball. So if
- 12:10Speaker 2: that's something that they struggle with again this season, I mean,
- 12:13Speaker 2: we could see... I'm low on the Commanders, but a
- 12:16Speaker 2: lot of people are high on them.
- 12:17Speaker 3: That could be another team we see sneak in. I just.
- 12:20Speaker 2: It's got to be somebody else when this division just
- 12:24Speaker 2: has one of the most difficult polls and everybody has
- 12:26Speaker 2: such high expectations for the West. And the South is
- 12:29Speaker 2: what it is. Like, we're going to get one winner
- 12:31Speaker 2: out of there. They'll probably have, you know....
- 12:34Speaker 3: Early escape from the playoffs and they are what they are.
- 12:36Speaker 2: But as much as I am excited to watch them, they.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Are there as we have deemed them the drunkest division
- 12:43Speaker 1: in the NFL. You have perfectly transitioned me into my
- 12:47Speaker 1: first take in our five bold predictions that Dan Quinn
- 12:52Speaker 1: is the first coach to get fired.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I said this to Gifford and he didn't choose it
- 12:57Speaker 2: because I had this one as well.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Are we becoming two halves of a whole idiot?
- 13:03Speaker 1: We, we are both wearing collared shirts, so this is,
- 13:06Speaker 1: and we're not fancy people. So this is very possible. Um,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I would have had this higher on my list. I
- 13:12Speaker 1: thought when I was writing these down, that this was
- 13:14Speaker 1: a hotter take than it turns out the odds would
- 13:17Speaker 1: suggest because he's actually favored. He's favored to be the
- 13:20Speaker 1: first coach to get the ax, which surprised me. I
- 13:23Speaker 1: thought it would be Aaron Glenn or Todd Bowles, but
- 13:26Speaker 1: it's Dan Quinn at plus one 75. I guess we're
- 13:29Speaker 1: on the right track here, Kendra, in the way that
- 13:31Speaker 1: we're thinking about this. It's like we're setting the market
- 13:33Speaker 1: without even looking at it. This isn't something I typically
- 13:36Speaker 1: bet into. The commanders spent a bunch of money in
- 13:38Speaker 1: free agency last year. They fell flat this year. Dan Quinn,
- 13:42Speaker 1: next trick up the sleeve. What do we do? We
- 13:45Speaker 1: change a coordinator. David Blau comes in to run the offense.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I just think the division is too tough. I am
- 13:51Speaker 1: high on the Cowboys, still high on the Eagles. The
- 13:54Speaker 1: Giants should at least be more respectable than they were
- 13:57Speaker 1: a year ago. Yeah, so they're going to be a
- 13:59Speaker 1: tough out. Their O-line isn't great. Jaden Daniels regressed big
- 14:03Speaker 1: time last year. They just have too many holes. Somebody's
- 14:05Speaker 1: going to get scapegoated for it.
- 14:07Speaker 2: For me, it's also that, all right, even if Jaden
- 14:11Speaker 2: Daniels didn't have the regression last year, and we've talked
- 14:14Speaker 2: about this at length, it's just the amount of distraction
- 14:18Speaker 2: that he's going through with the memeing and his mom
- 14:21Speaker 2: and LSU and all of that crap. He's just too
- 14:24Speaker 2: young of a player for, I think, that noise to
- 14:26Speaker 2: not be there. Like, if he were a player when
- 14:29Speaker 2: I was a kid or, you know, 15 years ago
- 14:31Speaker 2: before social media exists and he had some sort of
- 14:33Speaker 2: controversy going on, it's way easier to block that stuff out.
- 14:36Speaker 2: But this, like, new era, new generation of quarterback, unfortunately,
- 14:39Speaker 2: they are chronically online or their friends are chronically online
- 14:43Speaker 2: or their parents or whoever. Like, there is no way
- 14:44Speaker 2: that this isn't going to affect him to some degree.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And our production is saying by rule, Jaden Daniels has
- 14:52Speaker 1: actually sent us a cease and desist that we're not
- 14:54Speaker 1: allowed to have this as our fifth bold prediction. So
- 14:57Speaker 1: that was also the reason why we had it at
- 15:00Speaker 1: number one. Ha ha. What's number two for you, Kendra?
- 15:05Speaker 2: I'm going to say that the Chiefs aren't going to
- 15:08Speaker 2: win the AFC West. They have the hardest strength of
- 15:11Speaker 2: schedule in the division. Mahomes is returning from an injury.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Travis Kelsey has other priorities going on. I think that
- 15:17Speaker 2: they're probably going to announce a pregnancy at some point
- 15:19Speaker 2: this year. And I don't think he's going to be
- 15:22Speaker 2: the player that they need him to be or they're
- 15:23Speaker 2: used to him being, but they're still going to use
- 15:25Speaker 2: him like he is. Lots of team distractions, arrests. The
- 15:28Speaker 2: Broncos should capitalize on whatever goes on in this division.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I think they're good enough, too. My questions with them
- 15:34Speaker 2: come with the postseason because of the quarterbacking.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I just think that the.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Chiefs, finally, until they really retool around Patrick and get
- 15:42Speaker 2: some of this just crap.
- 15:44Speaker 3: They have going on off of this team.
- 15:46Speaker 2: He's not capable of being the quarterback that we know
- 15:49Speaker 2: he's capable of being and that we've seen him be
- 15:50Speaker 2: in years past.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'm with you. I think the Chiefs are much closer
- 15:54Speaker 1: to the middle of the pack than they are towards
- 15:57Speaker 1: the top of the heap. The roster just feels like
- 16:00Speaker 1: it's decaying around them, and it's a huge loss for them.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Losing both of their cornerbacks to the now super team
- 16:07Speaker 1: in LA, that's massive. Chris Jones is getting old too.
- 16:11Speaker 1: He's spent so much time talking about the age of
- 16:13Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey. I can't trust Rasheed rice to stay on
- 16:16Speaker 1: the field. Kenneth Walker. I really liked, but he's had
- 16:20Speaker 1: injury issues throughout his career too. They're relying a lot
- 16:23Speaker 1: on his production to help the offense. Just way too
- 16:26Speaker 1: many question marks. And then I it's a little hot
- 16:30Speaker 1: takey to say that Patrick Mahomes isn't as good as
- 16:32Speaker 1: he was two years ago, but also the numbers back
- 16:35Speaker 1: that up. So I would get deeper into my response here,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but I do have a chief's take on the bold
- 16:41Speaker 1: predictions list. That is not number two for me. I
- 16:44Speaker 1: am staying in the AFC West though. My second bold
- 16:47Speaker 1: prediction is that the Raiders make the playoffs and that
- 16:52Speaker 1: Fernando Mendoza rides the bench the whole season. So it's
- 16:55Speaker 1: not Raiders making the playoffs. It's the Raiders making the
- 16:59Speaker 1: playoffs off of the arm of Kirk cousins.
- 17:02Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 17:03Speaker 1: That's bold prediction. Number two. I have been firm on
- 17:06Speaker 1: this all the way through since they drafted him. I
- 17:09Speaker 1: believe Tom Brady. I believe Clint Kubiak. I think they
- 17:13Speaker 1: want Mendoza to sit. I think they want him to learn.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And I think Kirk cousins believes them too. Why would
- 17:20Speaker 1: Kirk cousins who was blindsided by the Atlanta Falcons selecting
- 17:24Speaker 1: Michael Penix. opt to go to the team that has
- 17:27Speaker 1: the number one overall pick, unless he was given a
- 17:29Speaker 1: very real assurance that he wasn't going to get a
- 17:32Speaker 1: very long leash to be the starting quarterback. Why would
- 17:35Speaker 1: he sign up for that again? Especially when you have
- 17:37Speaker 1: a team like he could have gone to the jets.
- 17:39Speaker 1: He's a better option than Gino Smith and just been the,
- 17:42Speaker 1: the starter with nobody sitting behind him. I think he
- 17:45Speaker 1: was given a, at least a verbal promise and we'll see.
- 17:49Speaker 1: He's still got to play well in order for them
- 17:51Speaker 1: to not pull the trigger, but Look at what he
- 17:53Speaker 1: did last year. Part of the reason why I've sold
- 17:55Speaker 1: myself on Atlanta is that he helped them win their
- 17:58Speaker 1: last four games last year. It's he's turns. He doesn't
- 18:02Speaker 1: turn the ball over much. He's a high completion percentage
- 18:04Speaker 1: guy and you love schedules. Kendra.
- 18:07Speaker 3: What about this?
- 18:09Speaker 1: Three, three road games this year, three of their nine
- 18:15Speaker 1: at the jets at the Browns at the Cardinals. That
- 18:19Speaker 1: is a gift from the scheduling gods.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Or Fernando Mendoza.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Being a backup quarterback is the best job in the NFL, Kravitz.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Especially when you're getting basically a mini-me to train like
- 18:31Speaker 2: a little puppy. It's like a golden retriever getting another
- 18:34Speaker 2: golden retriever puppy to run around with it in its mouth.
- 18:37Speaker 2: That's literally what's happening here. If you could have that
- 18:39Speaker 2: happen and they were like, yeah, you might have to
- 18:40Speaker 2: sit on the bench because we're getting a brand new
- 18:42Speaker 2: shiny toy. It's like, yay, a puppy, but I'm still
- 18:44Speaker 2: going to make millions of dollars and I'll have to
- 18:45Speaker 2: do anything.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, we've seen, we've had the opportunity. We
- 18:50Speaker 1: know Kirk cousins. This guy's been on, he's been on
- 18:53Speaker 1: the quarterback doc two times already. This guy is obsessed
- 18:57Speaker 1: with playing football. He does not want to sit on
- 18:59Speaker 1: the bench. I agree. It's the best job in America,
- 19:02Speaker 1: but I don't think cousins looks at it that way.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I think he thinks he's still a good quarterback and
- 19:07Speaker 1: he wants to win. And you know what? He's not
- 19:10Speaker 1: the best version of himself. He's still pretty good and
- 19:13Speaker 1: he's good enough to win games.
- 19:15Speaker 2: He's so slow and so old and watching him run
- 19:19Speaker 2: makes me feel like I'm watching an old man out
- 19:22Speaker 2: there who's just about.
- 19:22Speaker 1: To get clobbered. He's younger than Matt Stafford. Okay, let's
- 19:26Speaker 1: not forget this.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Also, did you not see the map of how many
- 19:29Speaker 2: coal stores there are in the vicinity of the stadium?
- 19:34Speaker 1: I would think Las Vegas. It's become a lot more touristy. Yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 1: I would say that I would actually think there's a lot.
- 19:41Speaker 3: There's a lot of.
- 19:42Speaker 1: What do you think he's going to be like late
- 19:43Speaker 1: to games because he's at Kohl's buying khakis?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Yes, I think.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yes, 100%.
- 19:47Speaker 2: He's gonna be buying him and fernando mendoza matching khakis.
- 19:53Speaker 1: And let's not forget also brock bowers not healthy last
- 19:56Speaker 1: season he was he injured his knee in week one
- 19:58Speaker 1: it was never the same i'm with you best tight
- 20:02Speaker 1: end in the nfl They spent a lot of money
- 20:04Speaker 1: on defense. They got the starting center from the Ravens.
- 20:07Speaker 3: They're a good team. I like them a lot.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I like them a lot. Me too. And they're going
- 20:11Speaker 1: to start 1-0 because they play against the Miami Dolphins.
- 20:14Speaker 1: So they'll have that going for them. That's my second take.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Bold prediction. What do you got? Move us to number three.
- 20:21Speaker 2: This is number three for me because I think that
- 20:24Speaker 2: people will think this is bold and because I'm a homer,
- 20:26Speaker 2: but I'm going to say that Trevor Lawrence finishes top
- 20:29Speaker 2: three in MVP votes. The receivers around him are finally
- 20:32Speaker 2: good enough. For the majority of his career, his receivers
- 20:35Speaker 2: have led the league in drops, and I don't think
- 20:37Speaker 2: that that is going to be. And that's why I
- 20:39Speaker 2: think that people think he sucks. It's because I don't
- 20:41Speaker 2: blame people for not watching Jacksonville Jaguars games. It's not
- 20:44Speaker 2: like I would choose to watch crappy team if they
- 20:48Speaker 2: weren't my team even though I watch every single game
- 20:50Speaker 2: at least once sometimes twice but the receivers around him
- 20:54Speaker 2: are finally good enough Parker Washington's playing for a new
- 20:56Speaker 2: deal BTJ has to prove who he is Jacoby's Jacoby
- 20:59Speaker 2: and Liam Cohen has proved that he's a ballsy guy
- 21:01Speaker 2: and he's an offensive coach and him and Trevor seem
- 21:04Speaker 2: to really get along and like each other and he's
- 21:06Speaker 2: a leader in the locker room people rally behind him
- 21:08Speaker 2: And I think that this is a team people are
- 21:10Speaker 2: sleeping on.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I think Trevor's finally here. He's finally arrived.
- 21:13Speaker 2: He was an MVP candidate last year, and I fully
- 21:16Speaker 2: expect him to be once again.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I just wish that you had gone a step further
- 21:22Speaker 1: with this. Why top three? Let's go all the way
- 21:26Speaker 1: with Trevor Lawrence. If we're going to shoot to the moon,
- 21:30Speaker 1: let's land on the freaking moon.
- 21:32Speaker 2: It's because I am apprehensive due to The amount of.
- 21:38Speaker 4: AFC quarterbacks that are allegedly and expected to be healthy
- 21:44Speaker 4: again this year, I think even regardless of the fact
- 21:47Speaker 4: that so many guys went down last year, he'd still
- 21:49Speaker 4: be in this conversation, but he needed a year with Liam,
- 21:52Speaker 4: I think, to really kind of put himself over the
- 21:54Speaker 4: edge and get comfortable.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I'm just worried about all of the guys in the
- 21:57Speaker 2: AFC being healthy again.
- 22:01Speaker 1: But I'm with you. I think the Jags are being
- 22:04Speaker 1: criminally undervalued here. Their defense should improve as well in
- 22:08Speaker 1: getting Travis Hunter where they can put him on the
- 22:11Speaker 1: depth chart at wide receiver all they want. This is
- 22:13Speaker 1: an elite defensive back that they're adding to the mix.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And they have really good edge rushers who did not
- 22:20Speaker 1: get after the quarterback last year. That's not going to
- 22:22Speaker 1: happen again. I think Walker and Heinz Allen, their stats
- 22:25Speaker 1: are going to jump up from what they were a
- 22:27Speaker 1: year ago. And, and then part of that is, is
- 22:30Speaker 1: that the coverage team will help them get after the quarterback.
- 22:33Speaker 1: All of these things are going to risk lift the tide.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And this is now a full year of Trevor in
- 22:39Speaker 1: that Liam Cohen offense. Parker Washington didn't emerge until midway
- 22:42Speaker 1: through the season. They didn't get to Kobe Myers till
- 22:45Speaker 1: midway through the season. And BTJ. I don't know what
- 22:48Speaker 1: was going on with him and personal stuff or whatever.
- 22:51Speaker 1: He couldn't catch the ball at the beginning of the season.
- 22:53Speaker 1: They were one of the best teams in the NFL.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And had they not gone up against the human robot
- 22:58Speaker 1: that is Josh Allen in the playoffs, I don't think
- 23:00Speaker 1: people would be undervaluing them as much. It's amazing what
- 23:03Speaker 1: a playoff win or loss will do for perception going
- 23:07Speaker 1: into next year. But you and I follow this team
- 23:09Speaker 1: closely enough to see that this team is good enough
- 23:12Speaker 1: to compete with anybody in the NFL. I'm with you,
- 23:16Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence to the moon.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love to have him as an MVP winner,
- 23:23Speaker 2: but I'm just concerned about the other guys. I'm going
- 23:25Speaker 2: to go top three just because they all exist.
- 23:28Speaker 1: A quick sidebar. Who do you think? Not necessarily where
- 23:32Speaker 1: you would bet into it because price matters. Just talking
- 23:36Speaker 1: about what you would expect. Who do you expect the
- 23:39Speaker 1: MVP to be? Regardless of Josh Allen. Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Josh Allen or Joe Burrow. I think that those are
- 23:46Speaker 2: the two guys that lead the pack for me.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I think it's going to be a huge bounce back
- 23:51Speaker 1: for Lamar Jackson.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I hope you're right. I would love for it to be.
- 23:55Speaker 1: New coach, reinvigorated with the new coaching staff. Things got
- 23:58Speaker 1: so stale with Harbaugh. He just seems like he has
- 24:01Speaker 1: a new lease on life and that top 100 vote.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You start, some of that stuff can be.
- 24:06Speaker 3: I was pissed about that.
- 24:08Speaker 1: He was what, 39th?
- 24:10Speaker 3: Somewhere. No, I think he was further than that, I think, right?
- 24:13Speaker 1: I was, I don't know why the number 39 is
- 24:16Speaker 1: sticking into my head, but, um, you start to slight
- 24:20Speaker 1: the elites of the elites. They will use that to
- 24:23Speaker 1: their advantage. Not everybody can Lamar Jackson can.
- 24:25Speaker 4: All right.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Number three for me, does John stribbling will break the
- 24:31Speaker 1: single season reception record for a rookie. I fucking love
- 24:35Speaker 1: this guy is currently held by Brock Bowers in 2024.
- 24:39Speaker 1: He broke it not too long ago. 112 passes caught.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Stribbling when I watch him reminds me a lot of
- 24:45Speaker 1: Michael Thomas and his early saints days. He's got those
- 24:48Speaker 1: giant mitts, big catch radius. But according to all accounts,
- 24:53Speaker 1: this guy is super smart. He understands different route concepts.
- 24:57Speaker 1: He's basically Brandon Iuke, but with a brain. And if
- 25:02Speaker 1: you think about it, the 49ers are so banged up
- 25:05Speaker 1: at wide receiver. Kittle isn't a hundred percent. Mike Evans
- 25:09Speaker 1: is 33 with bad hamstrings and CMC just had 400
- 25:14Speaker 1: touches last season. This guy could be the only receiver
- 25:17Speaker 1: on the team by week six, and it'll just be
- 25:19Speaker 1: him and Brock Purdy playing catch every week. I think
- 25:23Speaker 1: he's going to rack up the reception receptions and break
- 25:26Speaker 1: the rookie record.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I don't think that this is that crazy of a
- 25:29Speaker 2: take from you because regardless, and God forbid Brock Purdy
- 25:31Speaker 2: gets hurt, we saw Mac Jones be able to carry
- 25:33Speaker 2: that offense the same way that Brock was able to.
- 25:36Speaker 2: So regardless of who's throwing to him, I really don't
- 25:38Speaker 2: think that that's crazy of that crazy of a take.
- 25:40Speaker 2: But initially I thought you were going to make a
- 25:42Speaker 2: Dajon Love joke with this.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I've got to be 100% serious with you.
- 25:45Speaker 1: You know, what's crazy too is that he changed his
- 25:48Speaker 1: number to Dajon Love's number. He's going from.
- 25:51Speaker 3: 15 to 7.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that this morning. Dajon Love's number is crazy.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Is there a part of you, like a giant part
- 26:01Speaker 1: of you that really judges the women that gave this
- 26:03Speaker 1: man money? $ 87, 000.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Like Google exists, babe.
- 26:09Speaker 2: How do you not Google someone like, and what could
- 26:11Speaker 2: he possibly have been telling you?
- 26:12Speaker 3: Are people that dumb?
- 26:16Speaker 1: I think so. All you have to do. I think
- 26:19Speaker 1: we think of it as common knowledge. Maybe it's not.
- 26:22Speaker 1: If you just go to ESPN.com is a pretty popular website.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:26Speaker 1: And just hit the dropdown on the NFL. You can
- 26:28Speaker 1: look at every team's depth chart. And if you didn't
- 26:32Speaker 1: see his name, wouldn't that be?
- 26:34Speaker 3: No, he said that they hadn't updated the website yet.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 26:39Speaker 2: That's what they said. But it's like, girl, just look
- 26:41Speaker 2: up where he played college. Like Google literally exists. Like
- 26:44Speaker 2: you can learn how you get into the NFL.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Like, are you serious? Did you see the video of
- 26:49Speaker 3: him on the beach?
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Kravitz.
- 26:53Speaker 1: It's so crazy.
- 26:54Speaker 3: And now he's taking pictures with fans.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I think I could get away with this. I think
- 27:00Speaker 1: if I tried to pose as like a slot receiver
- 27:02Speaker 1: for the Patriots, I think I could get away with it.
- 27:06Speaker 1: All right. Make a little extra cash. By the way,
- 27:09Speaker 1: real quick, I have to get this stat out there
- 27:11Speaker 1: because if I don't use it now, this will just
- 27:14Speaker 1: float out into the ether because the preseason is over.
- 27:17Speaker 1: This is from Ryan Paganetti. He used to be an
- 27:20Speaker 1: analytics guy for the Eagles. He puts out a bunch
- 27:22Speaker 1: of NFL content. This is a tweet that I saw
- 27:24Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. Dajon Stribling is the first
- 27:27Speaker 1: player in 20 years to total 11 catches in his
- 27:31Speaker 1: first 20 minutes of preseason action. The only other two
- 27:36Speaker 1: that have been close to what Stribling produced in his
- 27:39Speaker 1: first 20 minutes on the field were Demarius Thomas, God
- 27:43Speaker 1: rest his soul, and Desperado.
- 27:46Speaker 5: Wow.
- 27:47Speaker 3: That's good company.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:49Speaker 3: That's good company.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Great stat. Okay. Let's go to number four.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I'm going to say that Justin Jefferson will request a
- 27:58Speaker 2: trade by week eight when Kyler can't see over the
- 28:00Speaker 2: offensive line. And I say that because they kept four
- 28:03Speaker 2: quarterbacks on their 53, which means they have zero quarterbacks.
- 28:08Speaker 1: That's great.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I really think that he is going to want to
- 28:11Speaker 2: throw Kyler in a locker. I think he's going to
- 28:13Speaker 2: be so beyond frustrated.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And what kind of star wants to be on a
- 28:16Speaker 3: team like this?
- 28:17Speaker 2: And we talk all the time about quarterback or teams
- 28:19Speaker 2: who are a quarterback away from being good. We talk about,
- 28:22Speaker 2: you know, teams like this, the Falcons, whoever. And I
- 28:26Speaker 2: just don't think that he's going to want to waste
- 28:29Speaker 2: his career playing somewhere like Minnesota and they could get
- 28:33Speaker 2: a good return for him and maybe actually get a quarterback.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I know that they're kind of married to Kyler at
- 28:37Speaker 2: the moment for what is he on a one year deal?
- 28:40Speaker 1: I believe so.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he's on a one year deal. Nobody behind him
- 28:43Speaker 2: is going to give them any sort of trouble. I
- 28:44Speaker 2: don't think J.J. McCarthy is going to turn into anything.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Just they could get enough of a return from him
- 28:51Speaker 2: to maybe turn around the rest of the roster that
- 28:53Speaker 2: they have. And we see teams all the time go
- 28:55Speaker 2: out there and find, you know, wide receivers that work
- 28:58Speaker 2: out later in rounds. I think that they could absolutely
- 29:01Speaker 2: sell that. And just by the time it's week eight and,
- 29:04Speaker 2: you know, they're two and six or whatever, pack it up,
- 29:07Speaker 2: move on.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Tyler Murray is still raking in the dough from the
- 29:11Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals. He's got something like $ 36 million that they're
- 29:14Speaker 1: still paying him. He signed the I'm getting paid elsewhere
- 29:19Speaker 1: contract with the Vikings one year, $ 1. 3 million. Yeah. So Minnesota,
- 29:25Speaker 1: not exactly tied to him. I was looking when we
- 29:29Speaker 1: were coming up with our bold predictions. I was thinking
- 29:31Speaker 1: I should come up with somebody that's going to try
- 29:33Speaker 1: and request a trade at some point. And you beat
- 29:36Speaker 1: me to it. I don't have that on my list.
- 29:38Speaker 1: He's a great candidate. for that. I think the Vikings
- 29:41Speaker 1: are going to turn things around, but if it doesn't happen,
- 29:44Speaker 1: not only will this happen, um, it should happen. I'm
- 29:48Speaker 1: curious where he could end up. I, I it's, uh,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm sort of fantasizing about what is, what would the next, uh, Lace,
- 29:57Speaker 1: who would make that move? You'd have to give up
- 29:59Speaker 1: a lot to get a player of his caliber.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I think it's going to depend on who I can
- 30:04Speaker 2: tell you what's going to happen. It's going to be
- 30:05Speaker 2: a team whose receiver or receivers go down. They're still
- 30:09Speaker 2: in playoff contention, have a quarterback and just need somebody
- 30:13Speaker 2: to put them over the edge, especially if they're going
- 30:15Speaker 2: to have, you know, one or one of the receivers
- 30:17Speaker 2: that are injured or somebody come back. It's going to
- 30:19Speaker 2: be a team who's in contention in conversation that can
- 30:22Speaker 2: absolutely just full send it because they're right there.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, maybe the Houston Texans. Philly? Yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 1: like if Makai Lemon turns out he sucks.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah, or if Devontae goes down. I'm not wishing injury
- 30:40Speaker 2: on anybody. Please don't get it twisted. I'm just saying
- 30:43Speaker 2: if one of those guys goes down, those are the
- 30:46Speaker 2: absolute types of teams that I could see invest in
- 30:48Speaker 2: someone like J.J.
- 30:50Speaker 1: What a full circle moment that would be because they
- 30:52Speaker 1: could have had them in the first place, but instead
- 30:54Speaker 1: they drafted Jalen Rager. So, uh, yikes.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Well, that's a name I haven't heard in a while.
- 30:59Speaker 1: All right. Back to, uh, the Kansas city chiefs. My
- 31:02Speaker 1: fourth bold prediction is in line with yours. I have the,
- 31:08Speaker 1: so we are becoming a whole idiot here. The Kansas
- 31:10Speaker 1: city chiefs will miss the playoffs, which is not that wild.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So I'm going to throw a little extra salt on
- 31:16Speaker 1: the steak here. And Andy Reed walks away. Into the
- 31:20Speaker 1: sunset hand in hand with Travis Kelsey after the season playoffs,
- 31:27Speaker 1: Reed walks away, Kelsey walks away. I've been staring at
- 31:30Speaker 1: this roster since April. I just can't fall in love
- 31:34Speaker 1: with it. I don't understand what the odds makers are
- 31:36Speaker 1: doing with this team sitting atop the AFC west. We're
- 31:40Speaker 1: not even a hundred percent that we're getting a hundred
- 31:43Speaker 1: percent Mahomes who honestly has been closer to quarterback 10
- 31:47Speaker 1: in the NFL. Then he's been to quarterback one over
- 31:51Speaker 1: his last 16 starts. Pro football focus has this guy
- 31:54Speaker 1: graded last year as quarterback 17. Now that's obviously way
- 31:59Speaker 1: too aggressive on his negativity, but there are, those are
- 32:03Speaker 1: objective metrics. This isn't some personal attack on Patrick Mahomes.
- 32:07Speaker 1: We all love the guy in the clutch, but quarters
- 32:11Speaker 1: one through five minutes left in the fourth quarter. He
- 32:14Speaker 1: has not been as effective and it's not all on him.
- 32:18Speaker 1: The offensive line isn't as good as it once was.
- 32:20Speaker 1: And he doesn't have an elite weapon as his safety blanket.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey is his best weapon and he's just not
- 32:26Speaker 1: as good anymore. Their defense is old and I like
- 32:29Speaker 1: everyone else in this division. Uh, when I project out
- 32:33Speaker 1: my seven playoff teams, I cannot find an angle where
- 32:36Speaker 1: I get them in and I'm leaving out good teams
- 32:39Speaker 1: when I get to my seven. So they're, they'll miss
- 32:42Speaker 1: the playoffs. And Andy Reed, by the way, do you
- 32:44Speaker 1: realize this guy's almost 70? He's right on the doorstep.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I think he's 68 years old.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Cause when I was doing, I only know this
- 32:51Speaker 2: because I was looking at head coaches comparisons to bill
- 32:54Speaker 2: Belichick's age when all that crap was going down and
- 32:56Speaker 2: Andy Reed was up there.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Um, The seven teams, by the way, I have Bills, Patriots, Ravens, Bengals.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I have the Jags winning the AFC South, obviously.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Hell yeah. That's a bold take, Kravitz. That's a bold take.
- 33:13Speaker 2: People think it's Houston and it's not even a question
- 33:15Speaker 2: and people are really sleeping on the Jags, but I
- 33:17Speaker 2: love it because I think that that's what feeds Liam Cohen.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Keep sleeping.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I have the Broncos winning the AFC West and then
- 33:25Speaker 1: my surprise team. Someone's going to crack the code here.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I have the Raiders. So that's seven that leaves out
- 33:32Speaker 1: the Texans and the chargers, which I do not feel
- 33:34Speaker 1: good about.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 1: But it also leaves out the chiefs. So I would
- 33:38Speaker 1: have the chiefs as the third team out. I like
- 33:41Speaker 1: Houston and LA better than them. So I cannot squeeze
- 33:45Speaker 1: them in to the playoffs. And I realized that I don't,
- 33:47Speaker 1: I'm not saying I'm sitting here today that the Raiders
- 33:51Speaker 1: are a better team than the chiefs, but it's the NFL.
- 33:53Speaker 1: You have to account for the fact that weird shit
- 33:56Speaker 1: is going to happen. It just is. So you've got
- 33:59Speaker 1: to make your claim on that. Andy Reid is 70.
- 34:06Speaker 1: He's been coaching since 1999. Were you still in diapers
- 34:10Speaker 1: when he was with the Eagles?
- 34:12Speaker 4: Yes.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Wild world we live in. All right. Let's plant our
- 34:17Speaker 1: flag on our fifth and boldest. prediction like the flag
- 34:25Speaker 1: get it.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Set up i'm trying to plant my flag here okay.
- 34:28Speaker 1: You're really planting your flag on that thing the boldest
- 34:31Speaker 1: one that we have got presented by draft kings the
- 34:34Speaker 1: crown is yours what is your boldest prediction This.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Is definitely my boldest.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I know that Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers are boys.
- 34:44Speaker 2: And I know that Will Howard is number two on
- 34:46Speaker 2: the depth chart. But I'm going to say before the
- 34:48Speaker 2: season ends, Drew Aller will be the starter for the
- 34:51Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers at quarterback. I think that eventually that depth
- 34:56Speaker 2: chart will flip-flop just because I think that Will Howard
- 34:58Speaker 2: took better care of the football in the preseason. He
- 35:01Speaker 2: didn't turn it over as much. He had a great
- 35:02Speaker 2: game against Green Bay. And Aaron Rodgers is getting old.
- 35:05Speaker 2: And I think he's going to get frustrated. I think
- 35:07Speaker 2: he's going to probably continue to just... do those fuck
- 35:10Speaker 2: it balls that we see him throw because he thinks
- 35:12Speaker 2: that he's the version of himself that he used to
- 35:14Speaker 2: be and he has someone down there and they're just
- 35:16Speaker 2: ugly and he's gonna get picked off and there's gonna
- 35:19Speaker 2: be so much pressure on McCarthy to finally sit the
- 35:22Speaker 2: old man down that he's not gonna have a choice
- 35:25Speaker 2: if he wants to keep his job. I don't think
- 35:27Speaker 2: that they can fire him a year in. They clearly
- 35:29Speaker 2: brought him in for Rodgers, but I think Drew Aller
- 35:31Speaker 2: is going to be the better decision by the end
- 35:33Speaker 2: of the season here. And this is an organization that, yes,
- 35:35Speaker 2: they were okay with, you know, Mike Tomlin sort of
- 35:38Speaker 2: middling from time to time and going just above 500.
- 35:41Speaker 2: But they're still an organization that's a blue blood of
- 35:44Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 35:45Speaker 3: They have pride.
- 35:46Speaker 2: They want to be winners. The city certainly will put
- 35:48Speaker 2: pressure on this team if they do anything but what
- 35:51Speaker 2: is best and what will win them games. And I
- 35:53Speaker 2: don't think that by, you know, week 10 or so
- 35:55Speaker 2: that's going to be Aaron Rogers starting for this team.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad somebody took it upon themselves to shit
- 36:01Speaker 1: on the Steelers during our boldest predictions. Cause it had
- 36:04Speaker 1: to happen here. I'm not in on this team. I
- 36:07Speaker 1: really wanted to say something to the effect of Mike
- 36:10Speaker 1: McCarthy will be one and done with the Steelers, but
- 36:13Speaker 1: that's just so anti Pittsburgh. I couldn't get there. It
- 36:17Speaker 1: felt too hot to come off the top rope with
- 36:20Speaker 1: that one, but drew Aller looked really good in the
- 36:22Speaker 1: preseason and, And Aaron Rodgers is, I thought he should
- 36:26Speaker 1: have retired after last year. I think this could, this
- 36:28Speaker 1: one could.
- 36:29Speaker 3: His robot wife said one more. Please.
- 36:32Speaker 1: One more season. My last one, my boldest prediction. We're
- 36:38Speaker 1: going off the field for this. Pat McAfee will replace
- 36:44Speaker 1: Troy Aikman as the color analyst on Monday night football.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I won't watch it.
- 36:50Speaker 1: It'll happen in the middle of the year. Aikman has
- 36:53Speaker 1: an advisory role with the Miami dolphins. So maybe ESPN, ABC, Disney,
- 36:59Speaker 1: maybe the NFL steps in and just says, Hey, we
- 37:02Speaker 1: can't do this anymore. And this would create an opening.
- 37:05Speaker 1: And we know what ESPN does with available content inventory
- 37:11Speaker 1: with their little McAfee and the Superbowl is on ESPN
- 37:15Speaker 1: this year. So we're going to have a heavy dose.
- 37:18Speaker 5: Okay.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Don't do this.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I'm just preparing us mentally for this possibility. Hottest take
- 37:27Speaker 1: McAfee will end up on Monday night football.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Oh, Jesus Christ.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I would hate that more than anything, but then they can't,
- 37:38Speaker 2: I don't think that they can continue to push his
- 37:40Speaker 2: show though, because like he'd have to turn around so
- 37:43Speaker 2: quick and be back on, on Monday or he'd go
- 37:45Speaker 2: from being on Monday, Monday, in the afternoon to doing
- 37:48Speaker 2: Monday night football to being back on Tuesday, logistically, they'd
- 37:51Speaker 2: have to cancel his show, but what will make them
- 37:53Speaker 2: more money?
- 37:54Speaker 3: They, they would find who are they going to pair
- 37:57Speaker 3: him with?
- 37:59Speaker 1: I mean, they would, they, they don't care what the
- 38:02Speaker 1: quality of that show is. It's just that it's on.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I mean, the pandemic changed so much in terms of
- 38:10Speaker 1: the quality that is produced, that is acceptable for television.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And he is again, the chief example of this.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Once again, men are wondering why there's a loneliness epidemic,
- 38:21Speaker 2: and it's because you consume shit like Pat McAfee.
- 38:25Speaker 3: He blocks me on Twitter, by the way.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I would tattoo that on myself.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Yeah, like no regrets, but Pat McAfee blocks me on Twitter.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Exactly, exactly. This is how you know I'm cool. Look
- 38:39Speaker 1: at that. Those are our boldest predictions presented by DraftKings.
- 38:42Speaker 1: The crown is yours. Before we get out of here.
- 38:46Speaker 1: evan abrams the oracle let's bring you in i can
- 38:51Speaker 1: review the takes if you want to give me your
- 38:54Speaker 1: instant read instant analysis on who brought the heat what
- 38:58Speaker 1: you think is actually going to happen what's so out
- 39:00Speaker 1: of left field what do you think evan well.
- 39:03Speaker 5: Yeah i was going to say i would say quickly
- 39:05Speaker 5: recap the takes just for everyone in the crowd i
- 39:08Speaker 5: would say the one off the bat was the kirk
- 39:10Speaker 5: cousins one i think that's truly off the ball, truly
- 39:15Speaker 5: off the ball. But I will say Mendoza didn't look
- 39:18Speaker 5: good so far. I mean, there's been some protection issues.
- 39:21Speaker 5: It looks like he has happy feet. Like it doesn't
- 39:23Speaker 5: look like he is even ready for week one, if
- 39:27Speaker 5: that was the case. So I guess that's sort of
- 39:30Speaker 5: the direction you're headed, but why don't you recap and
- 39:33Speaker 5: we can go from there quickly.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Okay. So Kendra's five, I'll go Kendra's and then I'll
- 39:37Speaker 1: give mine. Kendra said one team in the NFC North
- 39:41Speaker 1: will make the playoffs. Only one team that the chiefs
- 39:44Speaker 1: aren't going to win the AFC West Trevor Lawrence, top
- 39:47Speaker 1: three in MVP voting. Justin Jefferson, week eight trade, trade request.
- 39:55Speaker 1: And Drew Aller becomes the starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 39:58Speaker 1: My five. Okay, hold on.
- 40:00Speaker 5: We can even just stop there. And I think Trevor
- 40:02Speaker 5: Lawrence is probably the crazy of those. I think everything
- 40:05Speaker 5: else is pretty realistic. Like the trade request, Aller. I
- 40:10Speaker 5: think the Trevor Lawrence ones, like he can have a
- 40:13Speaker 5: great year, but finishing that high in the MVP, I mean,
- 40:16Speaker 5: he had a great year last year.
- 40:18Speaker 3: You shit on me for that, Kravitz.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I shit on you. Well, I shit on you for
- 40:22Speaker 1: not going hot. Yeah. You should have gone hotter. I think,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I think you should add him winning. We're a, we are, we,
- 40:30Speaker 1: we are in lockstep on our Jags love. Uh, mine
- 40:34Speaker 1: was that Dan Quinn will be the first coach fired,
- 40:36Speaker 1: which he is the odds on favorite to be the
- 40:38Speaker 1: Raiders will make the playoffs with Mendoza riding the bench
- 40:41Speaker 1: the whole season. You already don't like that one. Dijon
- 40:44Speaker 1: stripling will break the single season reception record for a rookie.
- 40:47Speaker 1: The chiefs miss the playoffs. And then Andy Reed rides
- 40:50Speaker 1: off into the sunset and Pat McAfee will replace Troy
- 40:54Speaker 1: Aikman as the color analyst on Monday.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Talk about jumping on the train with stripling. Like there
- 40:59Speaker 5: is the, you know, he's got a big train right
- 41:01Speaker 5: now and you are just jumping on board with it.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I get it.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Everyone absolutely loves him, but that is. That is something
- 41:08Speaker 5: if people loved him this much and then he did that,
- 41:11Speaker 5: that would be like LeBron, like at this point, like
- 41:14Speaker 5: coming through with exactly what people expected.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Uh, ridiculous.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Uh, but I did him for offensive rookie of the
- 41:21Speaker 1: year at 13 to one, put it in the app
- 41:23Speaker 1: now down to 11 to one.
- 41:25Speaker 5: So we've got ourselves some, uh, when he goes, when
- 41:27Speaker 5: he goes catchless in Australia, then you want to take
- 41:30Speaker 5: him at like, there's no way.
- 41:32Speaker 1: There's no way that he, I, that would, I would,
- 41:35Speaker 1: I would bet my house on that. He'll at least have,
- 41:38Speaker 1: he'll at least have one in Australia.
- 41:41Speaker 5: Drives when he hasn't been, you know, he doesn't have
- 41:43Speaker 5: a target. People are going to lose their minds.
- 41:46Speaker 1: But isn't it interesting the way that I understand why
- 41:49Speaker 1: folks would want to throw at least a little bit
- 41:52Speaker 1: of cold water on shriveling because the hype is now
- 41:55Speaker 1: exceeding reality. And my take is proof positive of that.
- 41:59Speaker 1: But he was the first pick of the second round,
- 42:02Speaker 1: which is. I mean, in 2026, that's essentially a first round.
- 42:06Speaker 3: He's also a specimen.
- 42:07Speaker 5: Like he looks like he belongs on the field. Everything
- 42:10Speaker 5: looks the part, uh, and the 49ers will probably lose
- 42:14Speaker 5: targets around him and he'll probably still be there considering
- 42:17Speaker 5: what they have next to him.
- 42:18Speaker 1: So, yeah. Uh, what do you think of what was,
- 42:22Speaker 1: what's your opinion on first coach fired Dan Quinn? Were
- 42:26Speaker 1: you surprised that Dan Quinn is the favorite for that?
- 42:28Speaker 5: Not really just because of like kind of the expectations
- 42:31Speaker 5: of where that team's gone and what we've seen in
- 42:33Speaker 5: the past. I think Aaron Glenn is kind of the
- 42:36Speaker 5: easy one. Like if that just doesn't go right, I
- 42:41Speaker 5: feel like that's something that can happen pretty easily.
- 42:43Speaker 1: And then more importantly, yeah. Whose collared shirt do you
- 42:47Speaker 1: like better? Mine or Kendra's?
- 42:49Speaker 5: I like the color on yours.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Thank you. Yeah, I got this. This is a media
- 42:52Speaker 1: gift by the way. I didn't even pay for this.
- 42:54Speaker 1: This was, Gifted to me from the folks at the
- 42:57Speaker 1: Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando. Wow. I don't golf. This
- 43:00Speaker 1: is a golf shirt. Total poser move by me because
- 43:03Speaker 1: I'm wearing a golf shirt and I've played 18 rounds
- 43:06Speaker 1: once in my life. So just a.
- 43:09Speaker 5: Cultured podcast today. And also David Payne, who's our producer,
- 43:13Speaker 5: has a collared shirt on in his little photo.
- 43:15Speaker 1: So it's everybody.
