- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Saint Hawks. It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Pumpas and
- 0:26Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. Welcome
- 0:34Speaker 1: to Hawk Talk Preview edition, Week eight. The Seattle Seahawks
- 0:37Speaker 1: take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before we dive into this situation,
- 0:41Speaker 1: let's go to NASA Ulby with the injury updates. Thanks
- 0:43Speaker 1: mump Will. Unfortunately, not great news on Dwayne Eskrich or
- 0:47Speaker 1: Marquise Blair. Det Carol steps to the podium as he
- 0:49Speaker 1: does each in every week and gave an update on
- 0:51Speaker 1: both those guys, starting first with Marquise Blair. He's getting
- 0:55Speaker 1: operated on today, I believe today tomorrow and he has
- 0:59Speaker 1: to get his is. You know, you know, it's a
- 1:02Speaker 1: good surgery to get his knee fixed and he's got
- 1:04Speaker 1: a fractured patella. What it is he didn't he updated
- 1:10Speaker 1: on the surgeon. Um, he's flying in tonight. He'll he'll
- 1:13Speaker 1: arrive tonight. Um. He's had a you know, a big
- 1:17Speaker 1: training and rehab program that he went through in Florida.
- 1:21Speaker 1: UM that we thought was necessary and and uh so
- 1:24Speaker 1: I can't tell you. I know that what the reports
- 1:26Speaker 1: are coming out that he's in great shape and ready
- 1:28Speaker 1: to go. I don't know what that means until we
- 1:30Speaker 1: get him on the field and if he's cleared tomorrow,
- 1:34Speaker 1: then we'll start to get some work from him. And
- 1:35Speaker 1: I can't tell you what that means. Clarity for you
- 1:38Speaker 1: just on the table, what the actual issue was or
- 1:41Speaker 1: why was this one he did? He did have some
- 1:43Speaker 1: issues from the concussion that he had and some visual
- 1:46Speaker 1: things that he was working on, and that's what he's
- 1:47Speaker 1: been he's been focusing on. On the positive side, the
- 1:50Speaker 1: Seahawks should have Darryl Taylor and Damian knew Us back
- 1:52Speaker 1: on the field this Sunday. The early indication is Daryl's
- 1:55Speaker 1: is really ready to get back in. Damien looks like
- 1:58Speaker 1: he's I mean, that's why they're talking. They're really counting
- 2:01Speaker 1: making them back to play, which is a nice boost
- 2:04Speaker 1: for us. All right, bump, Now we got the injuries,
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's time to jump into the seahawks Week eight opponent.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That is the Jacksonville Jaguars. What's on tap? What's on tap?
- 2:16Speaker 1: The Seahawks facing the one in five Jacksonville Jaguars. They've
- 2:20Speaker 1: had a rough go as of late. They opened the
- 2:23Speaker 1: season losing to the Houston Texans, the Denver Broncos, the
- 2:26Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Tennessee Titans. Finally snapping
- 2:32Speaker 1: their losing streak with a twenty three to twenty win
- 2:34Speaker 1: over the Miami Dolphins. They're coming off a bye week.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Like I mentioned, they got their first win of the
- 2:39Speaker 1: season last week. Now, the Jags have really been through
- 2:43Speaker 1: some stuff. Jack fans out there, I feel for you.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I know Seahawk fans right now are thinking they're really
- 2:47Speaker 1: going through it. But these this fan base has really
- 2:49Speaker 1: been through it. If you include what happened to start
- 2:53Speaker 1: twenty twenty, Jacksonville won their first game, then lost the
- 2:56Speaker 1: next fifteen. Open this year, losing five straight brought their
- 3:00Speaker 1: losing streak to twenty straight games. That's the second longest
- 3:04Speaker 1: active streak in the Super Bowl era. And they didn't
- 3:06Speaker 1: win a game for three hundred and ninety nine days,
- 3:12Speaker 1: which isn't unbelievably longing him out of sign Bowls. Get
- 3:15Speaker 1: into their last game against the Dolphins, they had helped
- 3:18Speaker 1: end this losing streak, and not in a conventional way.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It came from the foot of a software engineer turn
- 3:24Speaker 1: kicker Matthew Wright, who hit this fifty three yard field goal.
- 3:28Speaker 1: You can't freeze them. The Dolphins are out of timehouts.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Here we go, fifty three yarder from the right hash
- 3:33Speaker 1: out of the hold of Logan Cup. Matthew Wright Cup
- 3:36Speaker 1: put it down Right, kicks it up the fifty three
- 3:39Speaker 1: yard or is good good good? Right has made it.
- 3:45Speaker 1: The Jaguards have wanted one of fifty three yard field
- 3:49Speaker 1: goal by Matthew Right. What a magnificent ending in London,
- 3:57Speaker 1: Holy cow wow. Three hundred and ninety nine days ago
- 4:03Speaker 1: was the last Jaguars win against Indianapolis. Here in Jacksonville
- 4:09Speaker 1: where we're broadcasting from the twenty game losing streak has
- 4:13Speaker 1: come to an end. How about this young kicker Matthew Right,
- 4:17Speaker 1: who absolutely drilled it now, bump Head, coach of Remyer
- 4:23Speaker 1: said after the game. I don't think anybody on our
- 4:25Speaker 1: team ever heard him speak till about ten minutes ago.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Literally was selling software a couple of weeks before hitting
- 4:31Speaker 1: that clutch field goal, getting the monkey off the back.
- 4:34Speaker 1: The Jacksonville Jaguars have won a game, snapping a three
- 4:37Speaker 1: hundred and ninety nine days streak of losing. So bump Man,
- 4:40Speaker 1: let's get into these Jaguars. They're they're riding high, they're
- 4:43Speaker 1: coming off of buy, they're feeling good about themselves. They
- 4:45Speaker 1: finally won a game. Let's get in this head to head.
- 4:47Speaker 1: What what'd you see from these guys so far this year?
- 4:51Speaker 1: The Jaguars, this is a sneaky team because to Matthew
- 4:54Speaker 1: Rifer coming off the bench selling software. Now you're making
- 4:56Speaker 1: game winning field goals. You're part of the NFL. Welcome.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But specifically, man, these guys, like you mentioned, they're one
- 5:02Speaker 1: in five total offense, they're ranked number fifteen. I watched
- 5:05Speaker 1: filming these guys and they do some interesting things that
- 5:07Speaker 1: will throw the football. They can run it tenth when
- 5:09Speaker 1: it comes to rushing the rock one hundred and twenty
- 5:11Speaker 1: one yards per game nineteenth when throwing the ball two
- 5:14Speaker 1: hundred and thirty four yards per game in total points
- 5:18Speaker 1: nineteen point three. That's where the Hawks had the edge
- 5:20Speaker 1: really when it comes to scoring points. Defensively, these guys
- 5:23Speaker 1: are thirtieth overall, so it's really gonna come down to
- 5:26Speaker 1: these defenses. Thankfully, the Seahawks defense seemed like they turned
- 5:29Speaker 1: the corner, had the best game of the year this
- 5:32Speaker 1: last week. Let's see if they can repeat it against
- 5:34Speaker 1: the Jaguars. They're gonna have a couple of guys have
- 5:35Speaker 1: to look after the four now we're gonna touch on
- 5:37Speaker 1: them during the matchup portion of this deal only two interceptions,
- 5:42Speaker 1: so if you take care of the full ball, you
- 5:43Speaker 1: toss it around. It seems like they're not gonna really
- 5:45Speaker 1: be active when it comes to taking the football away
- 5:47Speaker 1: when it's in the air. But this is the NFL.
- 5:49Speaker 1: This is a team that you have to respect and offensively,
- 5:52Speaker 1: on paper, it says they are better than your Seattle Seahawks. Yeah. Man,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I was shocked when I looked at this head had comparison. Initially, I,
- 6:01Speaker 1: you know, knowing what we know about the Jaguars they
- 6:03Speaker 1: started the season o and five, I just assume that
- 6:05Speaker 1: they're at the bottom of near every category. That is
- 6:08Speaker 1: not the case. You mentioned it. You watch film on them.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They do some interesting stuff. Offensively, they got some good weapons,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and the thing that's really killing them right now, bump
- 6:15Speaker 1: is turnover differential. They're minus ten, tied for thirty first
- 6:18Speaker 1: in National Football League. So that's what's really killing them.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Other than that they're doing okay. I mean, Trevor Lawrence
- 6:24Speaker 1: only been sacked ten times this season. They're okay in
- 6:27Speaker 1: time possession. They're allowing a decent amount of points. Defensively,
- 6:31Speaker 1: they're good at stopping the run. They're about middle of
- 6:33Speaker 1: the pack, I should say, giving up one hundred and
- 6:34Speaker 1: fourteen yards per game. So this team, you know, it's
- 6:39Speaker 1: one of those things where I think a lot of
- 6:40Speaker 1: Seahawks fans look at the smatchup and say, this is
- 6:42Speaker 1: a game the Seahawks absolutely should win, and I agree
- 6:45Speaker 1: with you, but it's going to be close, and people think, man,
- 6:48Speaker 1: these Jaguars are one to five. But it is the
- 6:49Speaker 1: National Football League. Weirder things can't happen in the Seahawks
- 6:53Speaker 1: office is coming off a losing streak. It was a
- 6:54Speaker 1: huge game here, so we'll see what we can get
- 6:57Speaker 1: into there. But before we get into all these matchups,
- 7:00Speaker 1: it's time to know our history, no your history. Seahawks
- 7:05Speaker 1: lea the all time series five to three. Last meeting
- 7:08Speaker 1: was a thirty to twenty four loss in Jacksonville in
- 7:11Speaker 1: December tenth, twenty seventeen. That Seahawks loss was on the
- 7:14Speaker 1: heels of a thrilling win over event eventual Super Bowl champion,
- 7:17Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, this is where the Seahawks season
- 7:21Speaker 1: in twenty seventeen went off. The rails Seahawks lost three
- 7:23Speaker 1: or four games and that was the only season Russell
- 7:25Speaker 1: Wilson and missed the playoffs. That twenty seventeen team was good.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's crazy, I think that wasn't that long ago that
- 7:32Speaker 1: those Jacksonville Jaguars were in the AFC Championship Game, playing
- 7:36Speaker 1: a close game, lost to Tom Brady and the Patriots.
- 7:40Speaker 1: As far as that game, Russell Wilson seventeen to thirty
- 7:42Speaker 1: one two and seventy one yards, three touchdowns, also through
- 7:45Speaker 1: three picks. Tyler Lockett had ninety yards in a touchdown,
- 7:48Speaker 1: Mike Davis fifteen carries sixty six yards, and the Seahawks
- 7:52Speaker 1: closed a gap to within six that day, but unfortunately,
- 7:57Speaker 1: on their last offensive drive, Paul Richardson got held. It
- 8:00Speaker 1: was an egregious call. They didn't call it um they
- 8:03Speaker 1: had a punt and two in possession. Seas gave up
- 8:05Speaker 1: a long rush on third and eleven to Leonard Fournette
- 8:07Speaker 1: to steal the game. But the fun fact about that
- 8:10Speaker 1: game was that was the first time we welcome in
- 8:12Speaker 1: Michael Bumps to our broadcast team. You're the rough start, thought, Hey,
- 8:17Speaker 1: it was the roughest starting broadcast in history. I feel like, man,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I feel like I was like the battluck Charma. I'm like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: these guys got me on the team and we're losing baggins. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 1: first first time it was it was good. It was good. Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I mean it went in Jacksonville, then it went that
- 8:30Speaker 1: dreaded ram scam. Then we won one on Christmas Eve
- 8:33Speaker 1: beat the Cowboys, and then we lost to the Cardinals.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I think Blair missed the last second field will lose
- 8:37Speaker 1: that game. So rough start, But it's not how you start,
- 8:39Speaker 1: as Peak here always says how you finished. So man,
- 8:43Speaker 1: speaking of finishing man, the NFC West is continuing to
- 8:47Speaker 1: do really good things. What's the word and the Seahawks
- 8:54Speaker 1: for the NFC West Champs again, what's the word in
- 8:58Speaker 1: the West? On? Hot talk at top of the NHT
- 9:03Speaker 1: West stairs on, the Cardinals are still undefeated at seven
- 9:07Speaker 1: and oh. The Los Angeles Rams are six and one,
- 9:09Speaker 1: San Francis two and four, and the Seahawks are at
- 9:12Speaker 1: the bottom at two and five. I'm sorry, it just
- 9:16Speaker 1: hurts to say that allowed two and five. Come on,
- 9:19Speaker 1: let's get it right. Let's talk about these Cardinals though.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Man Cardinals beat the Texans thirty one to five. They
- 9:23Speaker 1: started off slow, We're down five to zero, but then
- 9:26Speaker 1: guy things going thirty one unanswered points. Kyler Murray had
- 9:29Speaker 1: another solid day twenty of twenty eight twenty sixty one yards,
- 9:33Speaker 1: three touchdowns, one interceptions. Running Back Chase Edmans led all
- 9:36Speaker 1: rushes with eighty one yards and fifteen carriages. James Connor
- 9:39Speaker 1: contributed as well, sixty four carries I mean SI sixty
- 9:42Speaker 1: four yards and ten carries in one touchdown. Zach Ertz
- 9:45Speaker 1: makes a splash with his debut three receptions sixty six yards,
- 9:49Speaker 1: including a forty seven yard touchdown. AJ Green is consistent
- 9:54Speaker 1: He's not gonna have these huge games, but he'll put
- 9:56Speaker 1: up some numbers three receptions sixty six yards. On defense,
- 9:59Speaker 1: Isaiah Simmons led the Cardinals with eight tackles and one
- 10:01Speaker 1: tackle for loss. The Texans only had one hundred and
- 10:04Speaker 1: sixty total yards of offense, eight first downs, and we're
- 10:07Speaker 1: two or thirteen on third downs. When you put those
- 10:10Speaker 1: numbers of you're not gonna win a lot of games.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Week after week, the Cardinals proved that not only do
- 10:15Speaker 1: they have the best record in the NFL, but they're
- 10:17Speaker 1: legit Super Bowl contenders. They play the Packers tomorrow on
- 10:19Speaker 1: Thursday Night Football and will likely be big favorites, as
- 10:21Speaker 1: the Packers have been hit with some COVID issues playing
- 10:24Speaker 1: Davante Adams, Alan Lazade and on the COVID nineteen lists.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And I think this is going to be Like I
- 10:31Speaker 1: already believe in the Cardinals right. Every week we try
- 10:34Speaker 1: to find reasons not to. But I don't care who
- 10:37Speaker 1: the Packers have out. If they beat the Packers this year,
- 10:40Speaker 1: this week, that's a signature win. I mean, they played
- 10:43Speaker 1: some good games, good ball this year, but you take
- 10:45Speaker 1: down an organization like the Packers, people on the East
- 10:49Speaker 1: Coast got to start paying attention. Yeah, man, I mean
- 10:52Speaker 1: I don't think you can find a way to devalue
- 10:54Speaker 1: these guys anymore. I mean it's they're undefeated. It counts
- 10:58Speaker 1: obviously on the scoreboard, and they're finding from ways to win.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Last week, they didn't have their coach, they missed a
- 11:02Speaker 1: bunch of people on from the COVID nineteen lists. That
- 11:05Speaker 1: didn't affect them. They beat a good Browns team and
- 11:07Speaker 1: they're still playing good ball. Man. I think Kyler Murray
- 11:10Speaker 1: and those guys are scary when you watch them there.
- 11:12Speaker 1: They play fast, they got a lot of speed. It's
- 11:15Speaker 1: gonna be tough, and I don't like the Seahawks still
- 11:17Speaker 1: have to play them two more times this year. Obviously
- 11:20Speaker 1: a lot of season left, but the Cardinals are gotta
- 11:24Speaker 1: believe in the man. I mean they're seven and noble
- 11:25Speaker 1: seat because even if they fall off, I mean, they're
- 11:27Speaker 1: still gonna win twelve games. I mean, even if they
- 11:30Speaker 1: really hit the kids, I still think they're gonna win
- 11:31Speaker 1: at least twelve games. So we'll see here. Other team
- 11:34Speaker 1: in the division, Los Angeles Rams. They also kept the
- 11:36Speaker 1: good times rolling as they beat the Lions twenty eight
- 11:38Speaker 1: to nineteen in the Battle of quarterbacks. Playing against their
- 11:41Speaker 1: former team, This game was not a walk in the
- 11:43Speaker 1: park for the Rams, however, taking on these winless lines,
- 11:47Speaker 1: Lines pulled out all the stops. Two fake months, got
- 11:50Speaker 1: some first downs, he had punters throwing the ball, you
- 11:52Speaker 1: got direct snaps going every which way. So they tried
- 11:55Speaker 1: to keep it close man, and they did. Early in
- 11:57Speaker 1: the fourth quarter of the Lines trailed twenty five to nineteen,
- 12:00Speaker 1: Jared Goff lol the lines on a fifteen place sixty
- 12:02Speaker 1: three yard drive but was picked off by Jalen Ramsey
- 12:06Speaker 1: in the end zone. Effectively, and in that threat, Goff
- 12:09Speaker 1: was you know, golf twenty two thirty six two hundred
- 12:12Speaker 1: and sixty eight yards, one touchdown, but through two costly interceptions.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford, who's facing his old team as well, fared
- 12:18Speaker 1: much better, going twenty eight for forty one, three hundred
- 12:21Speaker 1: and thirty four yards and three touchdowns. And you're a guy,
- 12:25Speaker 1: Cooper cup Man, no stopping this dude. Ten reception two
- 12:29Speaker 1: hundred and fifty six yards, two touchdowns, leads the NFL
- 12:32Speaker 1: and receiving with fifty six receptions in eight hundred and
- 12:36Speaker 1: nine yards nine touchdowns. Putting that perspective, He's currently on
- 12:39Speaker 1: pace for two thousand yards bout man Cooper Cup. He
- 12:46Speaker 1: needs to be in the conversation. Everyone talks about Hopkins,
- 12:50Speaker 1: even young dudes like Cede Lamb. I don't hear Cooper
- 12:53Speaker 1: Cup's name mentioned enough. This guy does everything well. I
- 12:57Speaker 1: know this is the Seahall broadcast, but you gotta show
- 13:00Speaker 1: love when guys are balling all right next to the
- 13:03Speaker 1: forty nine ers. Man, they're the only other team in
- 13:05Speaker 1: this league or this division that struggling like the Seahawks
- 13:08Speaker 1: are struggling. They lost to the Colts thirty to eighteen
- 13:10Speaker 1: on Sunday night football. Weather conditions were crazy. Actually flew
- 13:14Speaker 1: out of sand fran that day and the plane ride
- 13:17Speaker 1: was crazy. So when I turned on the film and
- 13:20Speaker 1: I saw the monsoon they were playing in, it made
- 13:22Speaker 1: a whole lot of sense. Jimmy Garoppolo was sixteen to
- 13:25Speaker 1: twenty seven, one hundred eighty one yards, one touchdown, two
- 13:28Speaker 1: interceptions and a fumble loss. Elijah Mitchell had a good
- 13:30Speaker 1: game one hundred and seven yards on the eighteen carries
- 13:32Speaker 1: in a touchdown. Deebo Samuel another good young receiver in
- 13:36Speaker 1: this league. Seven receptions, one hundred yards, one touchdown. He
- 13:39Speaker 1: did have two costly mistakes I believe he fumbled the
- 13:42Speaker 1: football one time, and then there's another one where it
- 13:45Speaker 1: hit him in the chest. Pops up, Indianapolis takes over
- 13:48Speaker 1: the rock. The Niners were up twenty to eighteen with
- 13:50Speaker 1: thirteen minutes left in the fourth quarter after Savon scored
- 13:54Speaker 1: a touchdown. The Colt's answer would a field goal, but
- 13:56Speaker 1: then Jimmy g through two straight interceptions and ended the
- 13:59Speaker 1: forty Niners chances. I know people in San Franz would
- 14:03Speaker 1: love to see Trey Lands, but look, take it easy
- 14:07Speaker 1: at this point of the season. I think you ride
- 14:09Speaker 1: with Jimmy g you let this young man develop. Remember
- 14:12Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes, Remember and Rogers those guys. Those guys took
- 14:16Speaker 1: the back seat and kind of waited their turn. But
- 14:18Speaker 1: end of the day, Kyle Shanahan's gonna have to answer
- 14:20Speaker 1: these questions. People are gonna ask him, when are you
- 14:22Speaker 1: gonna see Trey Lands? How do you feel about Jimmy?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Every week until they start winning, That's gonna be the question.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Next week the four Nineers, we'll headed to Chicago to
- 14:30Speaker 1: take on Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears. Yeah. Man,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I mean those questions aren't gonna go away, especially it
- 14:36Speaker 1: doesn't make it any easier when you're not winning games.
- 14:38Speaker 1: They're on a four game losing streak, so it'll be
- 14:40Speaker 1: interesting to see what happens down there in San Francisco.
- 14:42Speaker 1: But I totally agree. I think Shanahan's doing the right
- 14:44Speaker 1: thing as of now, Like, let let Jimmy g take
- 14:48Speaker 1: this and if they're not playing well, take these bullets
- 14:50Speaker 1: and let let Tray develop. I mean, if he's gonna
- 14:52Speaker 1: be your franchise quarterback, there's not really a rush you
- 14:54Speaker 1: get him out there, especially on the team that's struggling
- 14:56Speaker 1: right now. So interesting to see. But let's go back
- 14:59Speaker 1: to of these Jacksonville Jaguars and man up this man
- 15:10Speaker 1: up on Hawk Talk. Man up. Let's look at some
- 15:14Speaker 1: of these matchups. The first one is Trevor Lawrence versus
- 15:17Speaker 1: the Seahawks defense. This guy is not used to losing.
- 15:20Speaker 1: What lost once or twice at Clemson in high school,
- 15:22Speaker 1: he didn't lose very often. But it's been a rough
- 15:24Speaker 1: start to his career overall. But we kind of expected
- 15:27Speaker 1: that when you're going to the Jacksonville Jaguars. But he
- 15:29Speaker 1: did snap a fifteen game losing streak for that NFL
- 15:33Speaker 1: franchise on the season, Lawrence is one twenty nine for
- 15:36Speaker 1: two sixteen one hundred excuse me, fourteen hundred sixty five yards,
- 15:39Speaker 1: seven touchdowns, eight interceptions, and has been sacked ten times.
- 15:43Speaker 1: He's completing under sixty percent of his passes. That's kind
- 15:46Speaker 1: of the mark where you want to be at. You
- 15:48Speaker 1: want your quarterbacks to be around well, great quarterbacks higher sixties,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but as long as you're above sixty percent, you're competing
- 15:54Speaker 1: with the league. He has twenty one carries for one
- 15:56Speaker 1: hundred and twenty one yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
- 15:58Speaker 1: He needs to do a better job. I'm taking care
- 16:00Speaker 1: of the football though the Jaguars are thirty first in
- 16:02Speaker 1: the NFL and turnover differential. This guy needs to play better.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But I think Jacksonville and the organization understands that he's
- 16:12Speaker 1: a rookie and it's gonna take a few years to
- 16:16Speaker 1: kind of put everything in place for this young man
- 16:18Speaker 1: to really be the guy that I see on tape mass.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I see a guy who can throw the football. I
- 16:22Speaker 1: see a guy who's athletic. I see a guy who
- 16:24Speaker 1: understands the offense. But I see a rookie. With all
- 16:27Speaker 1: that being said, yeah, no, I mean it's you got
- 16:29Speaker 1: to think about all the factors he has going against him.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He's obviously a first round pick in the league, but
- 16:34Speaker 1: he's in the NFL for the first time. He's got
- 16:35Speaker 1: a new offensive coordinator, a new system, a new head coach,
- 16:38Speaker 1: all these moving parts. They're trying to start things over
- 16:41Speaker 1: there in Jacksonville. So I totally get that. I think
- 16:43Speaker 1: we've seen, we know that, everyone knows he has the
- 16:45Speaker 1: tools everywhere. He has the arm, talent, their strength, all
- 16:47Speaker 1: that good stuff. So he just needs to do a
- 16:50Speaker 1: better job of taking over taking care of the football,
- 16:52Speaker 1: as you mentioned. But he's a good player, and the
- 16:54Speaker 1: Seahawks are going to have, you know, have their hands
- 16:56Speaker 1: full with Trevor Lawrence. Defensively, the Seahawks are coming off
- 16:58Speaker 1: their best performance to these season, as we mentioned earlier
- 17:01Speaker 1: in the podcast. Only allowed three hundred and four yards
- 17:04Speaker 1: of offense last week and thirteen points against New Orleans.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Those were both season lows. Now the Seahawks, we look
- 17:10Speaker 1: at the head to head stuff. They're still thirty first
- 17:12Speaker 1: in National Football League when it comes to yard allowed
- 17:14Speaker 1: at four hundred and fourteen per game, but that is
- 17:17Speaker 1: still a huge improvement over the last two weeks. Heading
- 17:20Speaker 1: into the Steelers game, the Seahawks were giving up four
- 17:22Speaker 1: hundred and fifty yards a game, So at least we're
- 17:24Speaker 1: starting to see that trend come back the other way.
- 17:26Speaker 1: The Seahawks were playing much better on that side of
- 17:28Speaker 1: the ball, and they're gonna need to because as this
- 17:31Speaker 1: Jacksonville offense isn't that bad man, they're fifteenth in the league,
- 17:34Speaker 1: they're head of the Seahawks in terms of total offense,
- 17:36Speaker 1: so they're definitely can't take these guys lightly. Now on
- 17:40Speaker 1: the other side, our quarterback at Geno Smith versus Jags defense.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Gino he's done a solid job, I mean, subbing in
- 17:48Speaker 1: for Russell Wilson. He hasn't let the world on fire,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but he hasn't been terrible either, you know, limited action
- 17:53Speaker 1: this year two full games and essentially a quarter in
- 17:56Speaker 1: some change. Geno's forty five or seventy one for five,
- 18:00Speaker 1: one hundred and seven yards, three touchdowns, one interception, and
- 18:04Speaker 1: one of the main issues honestly for him so far
- 18:06Speaker 1: bump has been the sacks. He's been sacks ten times
- 18:08Speaker 1: already and he's only played a couple of games. Russell
- 18:12Speaker 1: Wilson had only been had been sacked thirteen times and
- 18:15Speaker 1: his five games played. So it's gotten bad the last
- 18:18Speaker 1: two weeks, and I think that's a team effort thing.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I think some are on Gino. I think some of
- 18:22Speaker 1: the offensive line. I think there's some miscommunication issues. But
- 18:25Speaker 1: that's one thing that I think needs to be cleaned
- 18:27Speaker 1: up this week because he can't he can't take those sacks, Soo.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Sacks are drive killers. We need to get the ball
- 18:32Speaker 1: out fast. There needs be better communication. When you have
- 18:35Speaker 1: five guys there and the defense is bringing six, you
- 18:38Speaker 1: got to figure out a way, if there's a hot
- 18:39Speaker 1: route or whatever it is, to get the ball out
- 18:41Speaker 1: of the hand. So hopefully they can improve on that
- 18:44Speaker 1: this week. But I have a feeling bump that this
- 18:47Speaker 1: is Geno's week, all right, Land, it could be his week.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You know, the Jaguars defense, they're not great. They're ranked
- 18:55Speaker 1: thirtieth in the NFL when it comes to the the total defense,
- 18:57Speaker 1: give enough four hunt into twelve yards per game. They've
- 18:59Speaker 1: all also I struggled against the past, the ranked thirty
- 19:02Speaker 1: first in the NFL giving up two hundred and ninety
- 19:04Speaker 1: seven yards per game, and they also have done a
- 19:06Speaker 1: poor job getting after the quarterback. They only have a
- 19:08Speaker 1: total of eight sacks in the six games, so there's
- 19:10Speaker 1: reasons for you to be optimistic. I think Gino's due, man,
- 19:15Speaker 1: He's due. He's been through a lot so far as
- 19:17Speaker 1: had a chance to win the ball game has to
- 19:19Speaker 1: come through us. Thrown interceptions, has been sacked. It's time
- 19:22Speaker 1: for Gino. I wouldn't say to grow up because he's
- 19:24Speaker 1: a he's a veteran in this league, but have his moment.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Let's let's let's make sure he has his moment this week. Absolutely,
- 19:30Speaker 1: we need to give Gino his flowers and I'm hoping
- 19:32Speaker 1: it's after Sunday on Halloween. Trigger Tree, let's get Let's
- 19:36Speaker 1: get something nice man, please, g you know we got
- 19:38Speaker 1: faith in you. Bro, got faith. Next matchup, James Robinson
- 19:41Speaker 1: against the Seahawks front seven. James Robinson sneaky good running back.
- 19:45Speaker 1: He's leading the tenth best rushing attack in the National
- 19:48Speaker 1: Football League. The Jags are rushing for one hundred and
- 19:51Speaker 1: twenty yards per game. James Robinson on the year eighty
- 19:54Speaker 1: four carries four hundred and sixty yards, five touchdowns, seventeen
- 19:57Speaker 1: receptions out of the backfield one hundred and sixteen yards
- 20:00Speaker 1: twenty four first downs rushing this season, and he's coming
- 20:04Speaker 1: off a great rookie campaign. We rushed for a thousand
- 20:07Speaker 1: and seventy yards seven touchdowns in his rookie season. Bump
- 20:10Speaker 1: he mentioned their running game. What you've seen? What are
- 20:12Speaker 1: they doing offensively that you like in terms of the
- 20:15Speaker 1: running game, Man, I want to I love James Robinson.
- 20:19Speaker 1: He's a downhill runner. You wouldn't think he'd be so
- 20:22Speaker 1: downhill just because of his size, but a downhill guy
- 20:25Speaker 1: they love, pulling guards and tight ends and getting angles
- 20:27Speaker 1: on the defensive linemans and linebackers. They does look really
- 20:30Speaker 1: efficient and he looks like he understands what he's trying
- 20:34Speaker 1: to accomplish. He lets the guy things developed for him.
- 20:36Speaker 1: He's patient, but he's also fast enough he gets downhill.
- 20:39Speaker 1: The Hawks are gonna have their hands full. They're giving
- 20:41Speaker 1: up one hundred and thirty yards on the ground per game,
- 20:43Speaker 1: that is thirtieth in the NFL. But they did do
- 20:45Speaker 1: a good job against the run last week against Alvin Kamar.
- 20:48Speaker 1: He had fifty yards on twenty carries, so that was impressive.
- 20:53Speaker 1: There's a chance for the it's setting up for the Hawks.
- 20:56Speaker 1: They have a good game right We understand what this
- 20:58Speaker 1: team does on offense. This deep fence is playing well.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Let's see if Gino can get going. But you gotta
- 21:03Speaker 1: stop James Robinson. The next matchup Marvin Jones and Laviska
- 21:07Speaker 1: senault junior vers Djid, Trey Brown and Sydney Jones. Marvin
- 21:12Speaker 1: Jones man has twenty receptions during the forty three yards
- 21:17Speaker 1: and three touchdowns, Laviska twenty six receptions three hundred and
- 21:21Speaker 1: six yards. Four other players have at least one hundred
- 21:23Speaker 1: yards receiving on this team, so you gotta look after
- 21:26Speaker 1: these guys, But there are other guys who can contribute.
- 21:28Speaker 1: DJ Reid has had three passes defended in the last
- 21:30Speaker 1: three games, and Sidney Jones had a pass defense against
- 21:33Speaker 1: the Saints. No receivers got behind these guys the last
- 21:36Speaker 1: two games, which is a good thing, but keeping everything
- 21:39Speaker 1: in front of them. We saw Trey Brown and Sidney
- 21:41Speaker 1: Jones kind of sub each other in and out depending
- 21:45Speaker 1: on the possession. I like that approach, but eventually, I
- 21:47Speaker 1: think one of those guys will have to establish themselves.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I'm thinking it's going to be Trey Brown. And then
- 21:52Speaker 1: can we get an interception from someone other than Quandre Diggs.
- 21:56Speaker 1: He's been super consistent. I think he needs one more
- 21:59Speaker 1: interception and he'll be the only guy who had like
- 22:02Speaker 1: at least three interceptions in the league in the past
- 22:04Speaker 1: five years. But he needs some help. So hopefully DJ,
- 22:07Speaker 1: Sidney Jones, Trey Brown in the game can call some turnovers. Yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 1: no question about it. I've been calling for for weeks now,
- 22:13Speaker 1: and they're right there. They're right there. They're getting they're
- 22:16Speaker 1: getting their hands on the football, They're finally starting to
- 22:19Speaker 1: have pass breakups, are start finally starting to affect what
- 22:23Speaker 1: the other team is doing. I know early in the
- 22:25Speaker 1: season there's a lot of issues in the middle of
- 22:26Speaker 1: the field. Everyone was given a lot of heat towards
- 22:29Speaker 1: the corners when it wasn't just their fault. So I
- 22:31Speaker 1: love that they're playing well and I'm hoping they can
- 22:34Speaker 1: kind of build off that on this week on Sunday,
- 22:36Speaker 1: another matchup, DK Metcalf versus former teammate Shaquille Griffin. Now, DK,
- 22:42Speaker 1: he's been, you know, being doing DK things. Thirty three receptions,
- 22:45Speaker 1: five hundred and thirty seven yards, six touchdowns Shaquille Griffin
- 22:49Speaker 1: this year, twenty six tackles, four passes defended. Now these
- 22:53Speaker 1: dudes have gone up against each other in practice for
- 22:55Speaker 1: years now, right, so I'm really interested to see. No,
- 22:59Speaker 1: Shaquille got to go back home. He's on the Jaguars
- 23:02Speaker 1: to have a lot of Seahawks connections, so it'll be
- 23:05Speaker 1: interesting to see Shaquille Griffin. They paid him. He earned it.
- 23:08Speaker 1: He had a good career here in Seattle, went to
- 23:09Speaker 1: the Pro Bowl, did a lot of good things here,
- 23:11Speaker 1: and they paid them to be a lockdown corner. They
- 23:13Speaker 1: paid them to be somebody that can that can shut
- 23:15Speaker 1: down your best receiver. So it'll be interesting to see
- 23:18Speaker 1: if he follows dkround or if he hangs out there
- 23:20Speaker 1: on that left side and see, you know, whether it's
- 23:23Speaker 1: Lockett or DK, whoever's in front of him. So I'm
- 23:25Speaker 1: really interested to see what Shaquille Griffin can bring. And
- 23:27Speaker 1: on the same side, I mean DK and Tyler, they've
- 23:30Speaker 1: been going against this guy in practice for years, so
- 23:32Speaker 1: they know how they can get in, you know, and
- 23:34Speaker 1: figure things out on him. So it'll be an interesting
- 23:36Speaker 1: matchup to watch on Sunday. I'm sure during meetings Shack
- 23:40Speaker 1: is a DK and Lockett expert, and DK and Locket
- 23:44Speaker 1: our Shack expert, and you know how that goes, you're
- 23:46Speaker 1: gonna give each other tips. He likes to do this,
- 23:48Speaker 1: He's not good at that. So more familiarity with these
- 23:51Speaker 1: two teams, Daryl Bevel and Brian Scheinheimer verse Pete Carroll
- 23:54Speaker 1: and Kid Norton. Now these guys called plays for the
- 23:57Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks. Brian Schinneheimer setting wreck with his offense last
- 24:01Speaker 1: year and got the boot, and Daryl Bevil was a
- 24:04Speaker 1: part of the back to back Super Bowl run. So
- 24:06Speaker 1: again these guys are gonna be in the meeting talking
- 24:08Speaker 1: about personnel and talking about tendencies. Both of them know
- 24:12Speaker 1: exactly what Pete wants to do to win football games.
- 24:15Speaker 1: But on the flip side, Pete Carroll has spend so
- 24:16Speaker 1: much time with both both of these guys, they know
- 24:19Speaker 1: their philosophy as well. Kid Nor you can say the
- 24:21Speaker 1: same thing. He's gonna understand what Bevill and Shotty want
- 24:23Speaker 1: to do. He practiced against somebody's shared coffee with them.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I mean, it's familiarity going on in these two games.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So it's all about who can exploit the deficiencies on
- 24:33Speaker 1: each side of the ball and who just comes to play,
- 24:35Speaker 1: because these are teams who really need to win right now.
- 24:37Speaker 1: So I expect this to be a really scrappy game overall. Oh,
- 24:41Speaker 1: no question about it. It's we talked about this a
- 24:43Speaker 1: little bit when the Seahawks played the Rams the first time.
- 24:45Speaker 1: When there's that level of familiarity, it's almost like how
- 24:48Speaker 1: much Sho I rely on that stuff because people were
- 24:51Speaker 1: thinking and then it's all that gamesmanship. He's like, well,
- 24:53Speaker 1: they think I'm gonna do this, so I should do that.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And then other guy's thinking, well he thinks I'm gonna
- 24:56Speaker 1: do this, so I'm gonna you know. So there's a
- 24:58Speaker 1: lot of gamesmanship. It'll be interesting to see. But I'm
- 25:01Speaker 1: telling you what, man, No one will say it here,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but I know, at least for Jacksonville, this game was circled.
- 25:07Speaker 1: This game was circled on the calendar for Shaddy, for Bev,
- 25:12Speaker 1: for Shaquille. I know they all, um, everyone has my
- 25:14Speaker 1: mad love for each other. In terms of the players
- 25:16Speaker 1: and the staff, I think Sandre Law is down there,
- 25:18Speaker 1: Carlos Heisman some time here. Philip Dorsett was here for
- 25:21Speaker 1: a little bit, didn't play, went to Jacksonville Knights back
- 25:23Speaker 1: on the squad. So there's a lot of different stuff
- 25:25Speaker 1: going on. So it'll be fun to see all these
- 25:27Speaker 1: matchups on Sunday see how that impacts the game. But Bump,
- 25:31Speaker 1: we really need this, We really need this. We need
- 25:34Speaker 1: to figure out how we can win a football game
- 25:36Speaker 1: this weekend. Pass to victory at the forty five waits
- 25:41Speaker 1: for the staff. Michael Vickson puts it down. That kick
- 25:44Speaker 1: is away and that kick is gonn. It's a path
- 25:50Speaker 1: to victory on Hawk Talk. Path to victory. You just
- 25:55Speaker 1: have to find a way to go. One and oh,
- 25:57Speaker 1: that is what it is all about the Sea. I've
- 26:00Speaker 1: lost three games in a row for the first time
- 26:02Speaker 1: since twenty eleven, in three consecutive home games, where the
- 26:05Speaker 1: first time since nineteen ninety two. They were two and
- 26:08Speaker 1: fourteen that season. Let's not repeat that. Find a way,
- 26:12Speaker 1: be scrappy, get her done, come out ready one and
- 26:16Speaker 1: oh yes, absolutely. And if you want to figure out
- 26:19Speaker 1: how that nineteen ninety two season went, feel free to
- 26:21Speaker 1: reach out to Ray Roberts and Paul Moyer and Dave Wiman.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I can tell you all about how good that defense
- 26:27Speaker 1: was and it was tough to score definitely, So we
- 26:29Speaker 1: want to avoid that. Please. So let's get this offense going.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Though it's gonna take all eleven guys to make that happen. Man,
- 26:35Speaker 1: I think it's top to bottom. We know how talented
- 26:37Speaker 1: this roster is. The offensive line can improve running back
- 26:40Speaker 1: to me, better receivers can get open, Gino Smith can
- 26:42Speaker 1: be better. So they just got to put it together.
- 26:44Speaker 1: We continue to see bits and pieces of drives in
- 26:48Speaker 1: really good things, and it's it's just not consistent. You know,
- 26:51Speaker 1: ten points is not going to cut it in this league.
- 26:53Speaker 1: So we know they can do it. They just got
- 26:55Speaker 1: to put it together and just put Gino in a
- 26:56Speaker 1: position to win. Man, put them in a position to win.
- 26:58Speaker 1: This offense hasn't up talented eyes between DK Tyler, whoever's
- 27:02Speaker 1: running the rock, whether it's Trashod Collins, We've seen it
- 27:04Speaker 1: from everybody. They's gotta put it together. Put Gino in
- 27:08Speaker 1: a position to win. To me, means let him have
- 27:11Speaker 1: the ball late in the game and not be driving
- 27:13Speaker 1: to win it for once. Let him Hey, let's let's
- 27:16Speaker 1: go down and kick a field goal and path the
- 27:18Speaker 1: Stads get the lead going. Put Gino in a good spot. Now, defensively,
- 27:22Speaker 1: you have to get after Trevor Lawrence turnovers. It's all
- 27:24Speaker 1: about turnovers. He's turned the ball over eight times eight
- 27:27Speaker 1: interceptions this season, and find a way to get it
- 27:30Speaker 1: done by any means. It's like, you know my mom
- 27:32Speaker 1: when I was young, right, I used to play on
- 27:34Speaker 1: older teams and I'd be hanging out with older kids
- 27:37Speaker 1: and she goes, man, whenever you're down, you're getting beat up,
- 27:40Speaker 1: just fight dirty, do whatever you gotta do to win,
- 27:43Speaker 1: to win the fight. That's what the Hawks got to do.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Fight dirty within the rules obviously, but they need to
- 27:49Speaker 1: show a hunger that I feel like we haven't seen
- 27:51Speaker 1: consistently this year. And if there's a time to do it,
- 27:53Speaker 1: as now two and five, you got nothing to lose.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Backs against the wall, Absolutely, we're gonna be It's gonna
- 27:59Speaker 1: be treat. How super excited for that reminder. Guys, who

- 28:26Speaker 1: Bump We really need this in the worst way. I'm
- 28:27Speaker 1: really hoping the Seahawks and figure it out, get a
- 28:29Speaker 1: win going into the Byewee Kyflee Russell comes back, and
- 28:32Speaker 1: we're talking about a great second half season of the
- 28:34Speaker 1: season for the Seahawks. All right, time to bounce back Seahawks.
- 28:38Speaker 1: They are taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars. That was your
