- 1:16Speaker 4: this man at Sandwich, is sure he organized. He was
- 1:19Speaker 4: pretty I mean his people, not him personally.
- 1:25Speaker 2: He was pretty.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Yeah, but you got to hire the people. And I'm
- 1:29Speaker 5: pretty sure.
- 1:29Speaker 4: He you watch your mouth people rule was a saint again,
- 1:36Speaker 4: be careful wagon.
- 1:38Speaker 5: But yeah, I can get behind that.

- 1:55Speaker 2: a Tuesday morning. Our Tuesday Morning is brought to you
- 1:57Speaker 2: by Community Steel Shout. Glad had them back on the
- 2:01Speaker 2: squad cold again this morning. Oh boy, you can tell
- 2:07Speaker 2: by Flynn's attire. Oh yeah, this is Annie best. This
- 2:13Speaker 2: is the first segment a tire the heat tired early.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I just looked at you this morning I just looked
- 2:24Speaker 2: at you for the first time. You're good. I'm great.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I feel I don't know what my eyes are telling,
- 2:31Speaker 4: but they're telling the story. Bud, my brain, my heart's
- 2:34Speaker 4: telling a different story. I'm here, uh.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Clear, eye full heart, right, I can't lose tailed. I
- 2:44Speaker 2: was quoting Friday Night Lights. I don't know.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I don't know well enough to quote it, or to
- 2:52Speaker 4: recognize a quote for that matter. You feel the show
- 2:55Speaker 4: where the Billy Bob Thornton, this is.
- 2:56Speaker 2: The somebody that would be all in on Friday Night Lights.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I mean, it's in your homeland.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Never watched a minute?
- 3:04Speaker 7: What you chuck it out? It's it's actually really good.
- 3:08Speaker 7: It's probably my favorite show of all time.
- 3:11Speaker 3: That's strong.
- 3:12Speaker 2: It is, it's my I mean, everybody's got a favorite.
- 3:15Speaker 2: That one's the one is great. It's good.
- 3:18Speaker 7: Jordan right, I was like one of the first things
- 3:21Speaker 7: I saw him.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Man, Well, I mean just trying to build up more episodes.
- 3:24Speaker 7: Like right when he was young. Yeah, but I mean
- 3:26Speaker 7: like when he was like older.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Would you say, oh God, I said a joke. It's
- 3:34Speaker 2: a joke. Nobody heard it. Don't want to have to
- 3:36Speaker 2: explain it fell on deaf ears and you would have
- 3:40Speaker 2: to explain it. It's not good. I do want to
- 3:46Speaker 2: We're off to a hot start.
- 3:47Speaker 7: I do want to think, mister Matt, I don't know
- 3:49Speaker 7: if it was intentional or not, but uh, I'm glad
- 3:51Speaker 7: to see I'm not the only person in this room
- 3:53Speaker 7: with culture wearing green this morning, because Matt also has
- 3:57Speaker 7: a green beanie on this.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that was past. He definitely knew that too. I
- 4:04Speaker 2: don't know, he doesn't have a.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Total accident that he did not do that.
- 4:08Speaker 7: So I'm saying it may not be on purpose. He's
- 4:10Speaker 7: got it on.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Me too. Counts.
- 4:16Speaker 7: This was actually full, full disclosure. I realized I was
- 4:19Speaker 7: wearing green when I got in the car this morning.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Yeah it's not Yeah, happy Saint Patrick's Day.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I already celebrated this.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Oh It's like it's like when your friend has a
- 4:30Speaker 4: birthday party on the weekend but his birthdays not till
- 4:33Speaker 4: like Tuesday or Wednesday. At school, you still tell him.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Got it, you gotta you gotta give the birthday text.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Tuesday birthday. Yes, yeah, good, there he'd be born on
- 4:44Speaker 2: a Tuesday. Well it's not that Tuesday changes every year.
- 4:47Speaker 2: But yeah, but when you know you're getting the cycle
- 4:51Speaker 2: of it falling on a Friday Saturday.
- 4:53Speaker 6: Mm hmm.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Brings up an interesting question. I was hundering the the
- 5:00Speaker 4: other day. What's the purpose of a leap year?
- 5:04Speaker 7: We've done this when we talked about this, I don't,
- 5:08Speaker 7: I know we told.
- 5:09Speaker 5: You about it, but it's because of the way, like
- 5:14Speaker 5: you know how every month is like thirty or thirty
- 5:16Speaker 5: one days or something like that.
- 5:17Speaker 3: We already forgot what it was.
- 5:19Speaker 7: It's a parent it's actually like sixty five point like
- 5:25Speaker 7: three years.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yes, that's what it is.
- 5:27Speaker 7: So every fourth year they have to added ay to
- 5:29Speaker 7: keep it, to keep.
- 5:30Speaker 6: Three every fourth year is three hundred and sixty six days.
- 5:34Speaker 7: No, every fourth year, well maybe it's like three sixty
- 5:39Speaker 7: five and like a half.
- 5:40Speaker 3: It's like three hundred two five. That's why it's every.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Four years, just a normal person calendar for that year.
- 5:48Speaker 7: My suggestion, my suggestion was, you got a couple days
- 5:51Speaker 7: with thirty one, take two of those bad boys out Adam,
- 5:54Speaker 7: February February thirty days, boom, everybody's happy.
- 5:57Speaker 5: But if you did that, because I looked it up,
- 5:58Speaker 5: if you were to do that, it would mess up
- 6:01Speaker 5: the whole calendar and you would have like summer in
- 6:03Speaker 5: the winter and winter and eventually, Yeah, so you add
- 6:09Speaker 5: a day every fourth year because it's like three sixty
- 6:12Speaker 5: five point two five, so you have every fourth year
- 6:15Speaker 5: you add extra day to it to make up for it.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Murphy, Sam and Jody kild never. They could never, I
- 6:21Speaker 2: think they would take.
- 6:22Speaker 3: The They could never give a half assed explanation of.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Why something that's like, you know, I tried to explain
- 6:30Speaker 5: it that I stopped halfway because I forgot.
- 6:32Speaker 7: We're over here with like sixty five percent accuracy right now.
- 6:36Speaker 7: That's not bad, not too far bad, not for an
- 6:38Speaker 7: opening segment.
- 6:39Speaker 2: You know that was babably be in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, right,
- 6:43Speaker 2: right right, He's not wrong, he's not wrong. You know,
- 6:47Speaker 2: we didn't we didn't get the memo to be at
- 6:50Speaker 2: the LA B Awards on Thursday, and Elanja and I
- 6:53Speaker 2: were talking about this yesterday. That probably means a slimy
- 6:57Speaker 2: son of a guns.
- 6:59Speaker 3: What's even the point in.
- 7:00Speaker 2: The law firm? Probably one again, but.
- 7:02Speaker 5: What's the point in even nominating another show? Murphy Salmon, Joe,
- 7:07Speaker 5: You're just gonna win every year?
- 7:09Speaker 7: Whatever they got the market cornered or do they hear me?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Out. Hear me out. The one time we got nominated
- 7:17Speaker 2: for best Sports Show, we won the award.
- 7:20Speaker 7: We win that for sure, maybe not.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Nominated us for best morning show of all morning shows.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Let's stay, you know, in our spot, in our category
- 7:33Speaker 2: and be best Sports.
- 7:34Speaker 7: What you're saying is like, we're good with sports, we
- 7:37Speaker 7: just may not be as morning as we think.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Then that could be best afternoon show.
- 7:42Speaker 5: We're like two morning shows for the sports, two sports
- 7:47Speaker 5: for the morning show.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Well that's what It's a different category.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Tell people we're in their own little world.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Are not a sports talk show. We are sports entertainment, right, Okay, so.
- 8:00Speaker 7: We've never actually lost them.
- 8:01Speaker 4: We're our own category. We're actually undefeated.
- 8:06Speaker 5: No one has ever came up to me and been like, man,
- 8:08Speaker 5: I love Murphy Sam and Jody. People come up to
- 8:11Speaker 5: me all the time and they're like, I love off
- 8:13Speaker 5: the bench, and I'm like, you know what, I love
- 8:15Speaker 5: off the bench too.
- 8:16Speaker 7: The only person I know that's ever outwardly told me
- 8:19Speaker 7: about Murphy.
- 8:23Speaker 3: It's like not surprising at all. I was like, guys,
- 8:26Speaker 3: zero loyalty day.
- 8:28Speaker 7: He was like I was a little late this morning
- 8:30Speaker 7: at Murphy Sam and Jody on in the car. He's like,
- 8:32Speaker 7: they're good. What do you want me to tell you?
- 8:36Speaker 3: They can't be that good.
- 8:37Speaker 2: That's a true story. That really did happen. I wonder
- 8:40Speaker 2: what they're talking about this morning.
- 8:42Speaker 7: Oh there's something to say Patrick's related?
- 8:44Speaker 2: Oh for sure, Oh yeah, for sure, mixed.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Do you remember that Patrick's Day?
- 8:50Speaker 5: And then they just all laugh about something that nobody
- 8:53Speaker 5: else cares about.
- 8:53Speaker 7: Favorite favorite underrated holidays is what they're doing right now.
- 8:57Speaker 7: They are hyping up Groundhog Day, Arbor Day Day, Flag Day.
- 9:01Speaker 7: They're getting hyped.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Up in the taxi.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't know nothing about taxi. We have this
- 9:10Speaker 3: beat with them. They don't even know who we are.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Oh, they know they are. They know who we are.
- 9:16Speaker 7: They know they're like, those are those podcasters.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Because me and Jake the other day put a flaming
- 9:21Speaker 4: bag of poop on their front.
- 9:23Speaker 7: And you'll signed it.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah you were at Saint Patrick.
- 9:29Speaker 6: It called the ish Pooh.
- 9:36Speaker 2: H that's good. I'll to do that. So another year,
- 9:42Speaker 2: that's okay, all right, we'll fight. Were nominated in our category.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Next time we got it's gonna be a new It's
- 9:49Speaker 4: gonna be a new category.
- 9:50Speaker 2: True, that was a good way to put it Elandra. Yeah,
- 9:53Speaker 2: we're too sportsy for morning show. We're too morning show
- 9:57Speaker 2: for a sports.
- 9:58Speaker 7: Sports entertainment show should be a caticalist.
- 10:00Speaker 6: It's entertainment now, that that's the thing. Let's getting that now.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Talk about Murphy Salmon, Jo, do you get fired?
- 10:12Speaker 2: They really should just rename the award though, so yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 2: they won't.
- 10:18Speaker 3: It's just there's zero point to it to me, right.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And you you've already won Young Professional, right all right?
- 10:25Speaker 3: Uh is nominated this year?
- 10:28Speaker 2: You are fingers crossed because if you win.
- 10:31Speaker 3: It then that's three years in a row.
- 10:33Speaker 2: O TV won his last year of eligibility. We've already
- 10:37Speaker 2: aged out. We could do the feeling young age out
- 10:40Speaker 2: of Young Professional feeling.
- 10:43Speaker 8: Yeah, the reducing medical Yeah, could give us an award
- 10:52Speaker 8: Feeling Young Award, the twenty award.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Y'all are all number one in my heart, no matter what, all.
- 10:59Speaker 2: That really matters. I appreciate that.
- 11:02Speaker 7: Look there you Brad Myers and the chat said, full
- 11:05Speaker 7: on Anchorman style brawl with Murphy.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Let's go. There ain't a show in Rouge that wants
- 11:11Speaker 2: no smoke. I promise you the hands not a show morning,
- 11:16Speaker 2: noon or supper time show.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Daniel said, nominated for White Guy the Year award, I would.
- 11:24Speaker 7: Love I would love to be nominated for Brown's White
- 11:28Speaker 7: Guy of the Year award.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I would love that.
- 11:31Speaker 7: I don't know if there's a higher honor.
- 11:34Speaker 6: They're not the white guy, the whitest guy.
- 11:37Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm pretty white. I mean, you want to talk
- 11:40Speaker 7: about making your own category, I'm pretty white. That's nobody's
- 11:50Speaker 7: gonna look at me and be like, huh, I wonder
- 11:52Speaker 7: where they're from.
- 11:54Speaker 4: I'm just I'm a white guy. Pretty basic, speaking of
- 11:58Speaker 4: I think I asked you this before. I can't remember
- 12:00Speaker 4: the answer completely. Okay, how do you tan?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Pretty good?
- 12:05Speaker 7: Actually, I would think better than you think. Okay, brought
- 12:09Speaker 7: him in. The day was red for a day, and
- 12:11Speaker 7: then I got I got a little son. It goes
- 12:13Speaker 7: red to like a little bronzie. It's done, go red
- 12:16Speaker 7: to peeling back to Okay, keep it for a few days. Okay, nice,
- 12:20Speaker 7: good for you, respect, Thank you what.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I'll take the victories I can get, all right. Well,
- 12:31Speaker 2: that was something that Murphy, Sam and Jody again to
- 12:34Speaker 2: earth for a mis Jay talker. Get the law firm.
- 12:37Speaker 2: It's good. I bet they're not even good at law.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Yeah, they're probably not losers.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I was trying not.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Know everything there is to know about the law.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 6: I mean my father's an attorney, so.
- 12:50Speaker 7: I'm broken the law plenty of exactly what you doing
- 12:53Speaker 7: the show?
- 12:53Speaker 5: So yeah, literally Will Helmer's comes in here, remember.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Get out of here? All right? Well now that talked
- 13:04Speaker 2: about that. Yeah, and them take a break, we'll come back.

- 16:04Speaker 7: Venezuela.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah, score three in the seventh I believe, yeah, and
- 16:10Speaker 4: Aaron Nola pitch nice.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Kind of wanted to play Italy just because he lost
- 16:15Speaker 7: to him and he had the coaching blunder of like,
- 16:17Speaker 7: oh well, I thought we were already in Like it'd
- 16:19Speaker 7: have been a niceilver redemption.
- 16:20Speaker 4: We'll get back game. Hey what Venezuela, they're gonna try
- 16:24Speaker 4: to get back from us? Still in their president.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Somebody put a picture of Maduro and Luigi man Joan
- 16:32Speaker 5: in a cell together with the with the World Baseball Classic.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get right. Game for Venezuela, got.
- 16:43Speaker 7: Even I not even think about the political.
- 16:45Speaker 3: As for one, we're over one versus USA right.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Now, I mean Venezuela going through Japan and Italy.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Yeah, he said upset Japan. Yeah, come back victory versus Italy.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Don't let him get hot.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Mm hmm. I don't think I like the way he
- 17:02Speaker 2: said Italy.
- 17:04Speaker 4: There was a graphic put up on the game yesterday
- 17:05Speaker 4: that said most uh pasta eating up pound per cat.
- 17:10Speaker 4: I saw that Italy's number one, but Venezuela's number three.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he was number two.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I remember, I remember what was important? Yeah that what
- 17:22Speaker 4: kind of follow up was that?
- 17:24Speaker 2: You have one to three.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Well it was the most relevant, Okay, all right, So yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 4: Venezuela USA very excited.
- 17:33Speaker 2: We wonder who's going to be on the bump, because
- 17:41Speaker 2: I believe that Team USA, like weeks ago, said that
- 17:44Speaker 2: the rookie from the Mets was going to be.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Yeah, they as not pitching. Yeah, what's up with that?
- 17:51Speaker 4: What's up with school?
- 17:53Speaker 7: You just wanted to be on the team.
- 17:55Speaker 2: He said he wanted to be ready for the start
- 17:57Speaker 2: of the season for his actual team, the Tiger. Sure.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's a pretty weak look. Yeah, like, don't
- 18:04Speaker 4: don't join the team, don't join the thing. You just
- 18:07Speaker 4: out there hanging out and joining all. I think he
- 18:10Speaker 4: just went like sixty or seventy pitches a couple of
- 18:13Speaker 4: days ago in spring training, So like, what's the deal. Yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 4: the vibes aren't high enough during the games. Intensity, the
- 18:26Speaker 4: competition wasn't there for you.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, it'd be really nice to have
- 18:29Speaker 2: him on the bump.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Well, yeah, obviously, that's why I'm bringing it up.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I'm talking about like the championship game, because the conversation
- 18:38Speaker 2: for like best picture in the world is between him
- 18:42Speaker 2: and schemes. Right now, you got both of them.
- 18:44Speaker 4: I mean that.
- 18:47Speaker 6: He well, I mean I don't like him at all.
- 18:55Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 18:56Speaker 6: I think he's a coward.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Wow, what I mean did pitch for the US and
- 19:02Speaker 2: the World Baseball Classic against Great Britain. Anyway I can
- 19:06Speaker 2: beat Great Britain. It's true, I guess anybody. But they
- 19:14Speaker 2: said anybody can beat Great Britain. They still have got
- 19:16Speaker 2: major leaguers on the team. It's one of those things
- 19:18Speaker 2: where it's basically all Americans are.
- 19:20Speaker 6: I guess I was born of Thehamas.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Got it?
- 19:23Speaker 5: So would you go look at the pasta?
- 19:26Speaker 3: It was Tunisia.
- 19:27Speaker 7: Tunisia in the world, the world definitely, definitely before today
- 19:32Speaker 7: knew that was a country. Guys, Okay, don't worry.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Definitely they got against soccer team like legit do the Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 7: They never heard of this place?
- 19:40Speaker 2: Really.
- 19:40Speaker 7: I like the name too, is cool. It rolls off

- 21:29Speaker 4: Or it's like freezing outside and it was just like
- 21:32Speaker 4: really hot and it's about to be really hot. Maybe
- 21:34Speaker 4: it's sniffle season all over again. My kids were kind
- 21:37Speaker 4: of feeling under the weather yesterday just because of the
- 21:39Speaker 4: weather change. So go boost that immune system right over there,
- 21:42Speaker 4: go flowiv dot com.
- 21:45Speaker 2: All right, So one of the things you're going to
- 21:47Speaker 2: talk about here to get everything kind of started is
- 21:52Speaker 2: LSU baseball and softball. We had high expectations for both
- 22:03Speaker 2: and right now, as we know, not going in the
- 22:07Speaker 2: direction at all that we thought. And as we all know,
- 22:12Speaker 2: like when spring sports are doing well here, when softball
- 22:14Speaker 2: and baseball are doing their thing. It kind of heightens everything.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Now we'll say softball did find a way to win
- 22:21Speaker 2: a game against Texas A and M after it looked
- 22:23Speaker 2: like they might get swept. So they win last night
- 22:26Speaker 2: seven to two after losing on Saturday and Sunday. But
- 22:31Speaker 2: to get this show start, it's really a vibe check
- 22:35Speaker 2: of where we're at, what we're thinking, how it's going
- 22:38Speaker 2: to go Elandra. Obviously you're our baseball and softball go
- 22:42Speaker 2: to how we feeling about each sport. Do we feel
- 22:46Speaker 2: the same, do we feel different? Do we think that
- 22:48Speaker 2: there's a way to climb out of the current rut
- 22:51Speaker 2: that they're in.
- 22:52Speaker 5: So I don't really feel great about LSU softball. They
- 22:55Speaker 5: showed some I guess a little bit of well they
- 22:58Speaker 5: won seven to two, so good win last night. But
- 23:01Speaker 5: I don't feel great about softball because after the Clearwater Invitational,
- 23:06Speaker 5: I was like, oh, that is not that is a
- 23:09Speaker 5: rough tournament for them. And then obviously it's tough to
- 23:12Speaker 5: go on the road against the number one team in
- 23:14Speaker 5: the country and get a win there, but they get swept.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I'm honestly a little surprised that they're still ranked in
- 23:21Speaker 5: the top twenty, they.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Won't be I don't think no serious, No two three
- 23:26Speaker 2: at home.
- 23:26Speaker 5: But even after I guess they're giving them the benefit
- 23:29Speaker 5: of the doubt with Tennessee. But I mean the Clearwater
- 23:33Speaker 5: Invitational just was like the like that made it for me,
- 23:37Speaker 5: where I was like, this.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Is going to be a long season for softball.
- 23:40Speaker 5: And then yesterday when you asked about baseball, I said
- 23:44Speaker 5: that I feel kind of the same, but maybe a
- 23:46Speaker 5: little worse. Yeah, just because of like Vanderbilt not being.
- 23:51Speaker 3: It was such a between.
- 23:52Speaker 5: The both the teams right, like, yes, they were making
- 23:56Speaker 5: errors on there into walking a whole bunch of people.
- 23:58Speaker 5: That's how we came back on Friday before they hit
- 24:03Speaker 5: the walk off. They were just walking everybody, throwing wild
- 24:06Speaker 5: pitches and we were taking advantage of it. But I
- 24:10Speaker 5: think I feel a little better about baseball than I
- 24:13Speaker 5: do softball, just because the season so long, and I
- 24:16Speaker 5: feel like for baseball, like the pieces are all there.
- 24:21Speaker 5: I just they are not putting them together. And I
- 24:26Speaker 5: think that if they keep if Jay keeps like a
- 24:30Speaker 5: consistent lineup, I think that the people that are in
- 24:33Speaker 5: there consistently can find a rhythm. But they don't know
- 24:39Speaker 5: if they're going to be in the lineup every day,
- 24:40Speaker 5: you know what I mean? Right, So, yeah, so I
- 24:45Speaker 5: feel a little better about baseball than I do softball.
- 24:48Speaker 5: But I think that the softball team it's gonna be
- 24:52Speaker 5: trouble for the rest of the season.
- 24:54Speaker 7: Heyday, soofotball is three hitters, that's their problem. Like lasted
- 24:59Speaker 7: Edward cre A day, they could hit the ball. Outside
- 25:01Speaker 7: of that, It's kind of what you've seen with LSU baseball.
- 25:04Speaker 7: In the lineup, it's just you struggle to get on base.
- 25:06Speaker 7: Like Jaydon Heavener's great, and honestly c. C. Salur has
- 25:09Speaker 7: been pretty good as that number two starter. She did
- 25:12Speaker 7: the game on Sunday. They lost that game three to two,
- 25:14Speaker 7: and honestly, that game never fell three to two. LSU
- 25:17Speaker 7: never threatened.
- 25:18Speaker 2: In that game.
- 25:18Speaker 7: But like we talked about it yesterday, I feel kind
- 25:21Speaker 7: of the same about this baseball team. Thing I've noticed
- 25:23Speaker 7: they just they don't play complimentary ball, Like when your
- 25:26Speaker 7: batting's bad, your pitching's really good, but the bats don't
- 25:29Speaker 7: pick them up. Over the weekend, your bats got a
- 25:31Speaker 7: little hot, your pitching fell apart. It just if it's
- 25:33Speaker 7: not one thing, it's another. They just they haven't been
- 25:35Speaker 7: able to put it together for whatever reason. I certainly
- 25:38Speaker 7: think the baseball teams are more talented than softball. I mean,
- 25:41Speaker 7: so all little Sidney Burson, which people are seeing now
- 25:43Speaker 7: how much he actually meant to this team, And you
- 25:46Speaker 7: didn't really have a good replacement for her, like yes,
- 25:48Speaker 7: Heaveners a year older in this program right now, she's
- 25:51Speaker 7: She's not Sydney Burson. I mean, Barzon could throw two
- 25:53Speaker 7: hundred pitches, no problem, That's just that's not who she is.
- 25:56Speaker 7: So baseball is certainly more talented than softball, But I
- 26:00Speaker 7: mean does it look good for either program?
- 26:03Speaker 2: So I agree with everything else said. And the softball
- 26:09Speaker 2: team has had a tough go of who they've had
- 26:13Speaker 2: to play, for sure, But this was a series that
- 26:16Speaker 2: was pretty even as far as who you were going
- 26:19Speaker 2: against right at home, and you dropped the first two.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Now again you salvage a game three. But where they're
- 26:26Speaker 2: at right now, some of the holes in their lineup,
- 26:28Speaker 2: it's tough for me to see in a league where
- 26:30Speaker 2: typically every team makes the postseason, they're going to be
- 26:34Speaker 2: able to turn it around. Now you have to on
- 26:36Speaker 2: the flip side for baseball, you have to say in
- 26:40Speaker 2: Jay Johnson. We trust at this point, Like if you're
- 26:43Speaker 2: not ready to give up, because I'm gonna trust Jay Johnson. Now,
- 26:49Speaker 2: that was an ugly series against Vanderbilt, and you're welcoming
- 26:54Speaker 2: in a team in Oklahoma that's really good. They're a
- 26:56Speaker 2: top ten baseball team, and so certainly we'll know more
- 26:59Speaker 2: after this we in at home. But I think the
- 27:02Speaker 2: troublesome thing from that aspect about baseball is it's been
- 27:05Speaker 2: the lineup and the pitching staff at different times. Right
- 27:09Speaker 2: It's not like, oh man, we got a really good staff,
- 27:11Speaker 2: we just can't hit the ball. It's like, I we
- 27:12Speaker 2: can't hit the ball, uh this time. But then next
- 27:16Speaker 2: game you score fourteen runs, but you give up twelve.
- 27:18Speaker 7: And your defense hasn't been as good like the.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Defense last year was really good. One of the reasons
- 27:23Speaker 2: a lot of staff and they're not doing that either.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Well, you could also take patient at bats and be
- 27:29Speaker 5: smart at the plate. That's another way to help your
- 27:32Speaker 5: pitching staff out, and you're not doing that. You're not.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Vanderbilt did to us what we were doing last season
- 27:38Speaker 5: to people, and what we need to start doing.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Where you you.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Know, you battle off pitches, you take pitches that are smart,
- 27:45Speaker 5: takes not three to zero meat balls straight down the
- 27:48Speaker 5: middle of the plate that we told Jay to start
- 27:51Speaker 5: green lighting.
- 27:51Speaker 3: People a lot. But but anyways, like I just.
- 27:57Speaker 5: I don't know, like the team, the at bats that
- 28:03Speaker 5: they're taking are not good at bats, and they're not
- 28:05Speaker 5: patient at the plate, and they're not chipping away at
- 28:08Speaker 5: the pitchers, the starting pitchers like they were last season,
- 28:12Speaker 5: and last season they were able to like have the
- 28:14Speaker 5: pitchers on the opposite team get deep in the count,
- 28:17Speaker 5: get rid of them after like four innings, and get
- 28:21Speaker 5: into the bullpen where then you start making hits and stuff.
- 28:25Speaker 3: But I'm trying to find it's weird.
- 28:29Speaker 7: It's almost like they don't trust the pitching staff right
- 28:31Speaker 7: now to be patient at the plate, but buying large
- 28:34Speaker 7: the pitching staff's actually been pretty good, So it's just
- 28:36Speaker 7: kind of a weird approach, Jake, real quick. Going back
- 28:39Speaker 7: to softball, they said on the broadcast over the weekend,
- 28:41Speaker 7: first series A and M is one in bed Rouge
- 28:43Speaker 7: since being in the SEC. If that tells you how
- 28:46Speaker 7: bad of a loss that was over the weekend, I
- 28:48Speaker 7: could get their good baseball or good softball team. But
- 28:51Speaker 7: first time they beating LSU in a series in ben
- 28:53Speaker 7: Rouge since being.
- 28:54Speaker 2: In the conference.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Cool.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Cool, Let's say this about the baseball too. It's like,
- 29:01Speaker 4: so the Vanderbilt series, of course doesn't look good.
- 29:05Speaker 2: You lose it.
- 29:07Speaker 4: But if you want to take some positives, way on Friday,
- 29:10Speaker 4: you scored twelve against you know, and Vanderbilt Friday night starter,
- 29:16Speaker 4: who was an established good starter in the SEC. You
- 29:19Speaker 4: pitched a guy that I don't think is going to
- 29:21Speaker 4: be definitely not gonna be a Friday night starter all season.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Maybe he's a late but we talked about yesterday. Maybe
- 29:27Speaker 4: you moving back into a rotation that he's really really
- 29:29Speaker 4: good at. So I think you're still trying to figure
- 29:32Speaker 4: out your pitching rotation, your lineup Again. Friday night, they
- 29:36Speaker 4: put up a lot of hits and a lot of
- 29:37Speaker 4: runs versus a Friday Night starter for Vanderbilt. You went
- 29:41Speaker 4: on the road and you dropped two. Now that weekend
- 29:44Speaker 4: doesn't look quite as bad. If you hadn't already lost
- 29:46Speaker 4: a series of Sacramento State and lost to ul and
- 29:50Speaker 4: Northeastern and McNeese, like, it looks a lot different if
- 29:53Speaker 4: you've won the games you are supposed to win, but
- 29:57Speaker 4: because of all that, we're having this conversation like if that,
- 30:00Speaker 4: if those things didn't happen, we're having a completely different conversation. Oh,
- 30:02Speaker 4: we went on the road against the Vanderbilt team. The
- 30:04Speaker 4: other they're not the best Vanderbilt team that as good
- 30:07Speaker 4: as they've been, but we had some really positive things.
- 30:09Speaker 4: We're still like getting a roster lined up, we're doing
- 30:11Speaker 4: it like our pitching staff. We're still like lining a
- 30:14Speaker 4: lot of things down, putting away.
- 30:16Speaker 2: From having a much better feeling.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Absolutely, But if we all have this feeling, and this
- 30:21Speaker 4: conversation is coming about because of the games that led
- 30:24Speaker 4: up to this series, Losing a series of Sack State
- 30:29Speaker 4: at home is embarrassing.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's embarrassing. Yeah, well, let's just call it what
- 30:33Speaker 2: it is.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Losing on the road to Vanderbilt and being a pitch
- 30:37Speaker 4: away from winning a series is not embarrassing. Now, it's
- 30:40Speaker 4: an indication of where they're at as a team and
- 30:42Speaker 4: a lot of the like the other stuff that you
- 30:44Speaker 4: can you can poke and prod and dissect the games
- 30:47Speaker 4: and be like, Okay, this is where we're this is
- 30:49Speaker 4: where we're short. And it's the same things that have
- 30:50Speaker 4: been showing up in these other games. But the reason
- 30:53Speaker 4: why we feel like this is not because of the
- 30:55Speaker 4: Vanderbilt series, because all the things that have led up
- 30:57Speaker 4: to it, and it just doesn't seem to be improving
- 31:00Speaker 4: against Vanderbilt.
- 31:00Speaker 6: And now we are in the Gauntlet. So it's like
- 31:04Speaker 6: you got to.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Get right and you better fix it or this season
- 31:07Speaker 4: is going to get away from you fast.
- 31:09Speaker 5: You got to get right real quick because Oklahoma's coming
- 31:12Speaker 5: into town and they are a really good baseball team.
- 31:18Speaker 5: They're performing really well. Right now, I went back to
- 31:20Speaker 5: go find it. So on the season, right now, we
- 31:24Speaker 5: have twenty five errors first SEC series in the in
- 31:30Speaker 5: the books, right, twenty five errors. Last season total for
- 31:34Speaker 5: the entire season, forty four errors.
- 31:40Speaker 7: I think, good, yeah, like that that's all and everything
- 31:43Speaker 7: like that's that's double the amount of games you played now.
- 31:46Speaker 6: And then excuse like if there's like we're gonna give
- 31:49Speaker 6: me your.
- 31:50Speaker 5: Entire infield is pretty much new. But like I'm I
- 31:53Speaker 5: just don't think that's a good excuse.
- 31:56Speaker 4: For it, right, I Mean, the only excuse would be
- 31:58Speaker 4: we're going to give up a little bit on the
- 32:00Speaker 4: glove because we got so much with the bats. But
- 32:03Speaker 4: you don't you don't have rats right, you have it
- 32:05Speaker 4: some but like in Spurts and Spurts, but if you're
- 32:09Speaker 4: gonna give up the glove for the bat, the bats
- 32:11Speaker 4: better be.
- 32:11Speaker 6: Hot a lot.
- 32:12Speaker 7: It's like your best hitters are your outfielders, who are
- 32:15Speaker 7: also your best defensive players.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Jake Brown did hit a home run on three and
- 32:23Speaker 4: oh though did yeah yeah green light.
- 32:28Speaker 2: So if we're gonna let ourselves thirty six, if we're
- 32:34Speaker 2: going to move Saturday to Friday, Sunday to Saturday, and
- 32:41Speaker 2: Case Evans is going to go back to being the
- 32:45Speaker 2: guy that comes out when you got the lead in
- 32:47Speaker 2: an SEC game and slams the door. Does that put
- 32:50Speaker 2: Zach Cowan on Sunday?
- 32:52Speaker 7: It couldn't.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Man, I hate TBD.
- 32:56Speaker 7: It's tough to say this because he got absolutely shilled
- 32:59Speaker 7: as last time out. I would like to see a
- 33:02Speaker 7: lefty and Saturday. The problem is who is it? Like
- 33:05Speaker 7: you would have thought it was Cooper Williams. But again,
- 33:07Speaker 7: it was really really bad his last time out. Because
- 33:09Speaker 7: I always like the righty, lefty, righty, just to give
- 33:11Speaker 7: them something a little bit different. But I don't know
- 33:13Speaker 7: if you can do that right now.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Somebody can throw strikes, a good start, a great start,
- 33:23Speaker 2: the defense has been poor, and then you get free passes,
- 33:28Speaker 2: and then they put the ball in play and you
- 33:30Speaker 2: kick it around and you don't make the play. And
- 33:32Speaker 2: that's been a large issue for LSU. All Right, we
- 33:35Speaker 2: do have to take a break. We're a little bit
- 33:37Speaker 2: late here. More OTB women.
- 33:39Speaker 6: Come back the studio, off the bench.

- 36:50Speaker 2: opinion really.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Does the the quotes in the electric atmosphere from the
- 36:59Speaker 4: world based Fall Classic, The quotes from the players about
- 37:04Speaker 4: how they're feeling like I'm reading a quote from Ronald
- 37:07Speaker 4: Acunya Junior on the Venezuela team, saying, in this moment,
- 37:10Speaker 4: I would rank it number one in my career. I
- 37:13Speaker 4: love the Braves, but before the Braves, I was born
- 37:16Speaker 4: in Venezuela. Yeah, you have Aaron Judge yesterday saying like,
- 37:19Speaker 4: I got the nerves I'm taking like I'm taking like
- 37:21Speaker 4: air swings in the hotel. My wife's filming me so
- 37:23Speaker 4: I can look at my swings. He's like, I'm laying
- 37:26Speaker 4: out my uniform on my bed like I'm twelve years old,
- 37:29Speaker 4: like going to a championship game. Paul Skin says, like
- 37:32Speaker 4: it's the number one jersey he's ever been like proud
- 37:34Speaker 4: of to where like all these scenes, it's incredible and
- 37:38Speaker 4: it's incredible to watch. It's it's like Game seven in March.
- 37:45Speaker 4: And but as they get to their regular season, when
- 37:49Speaker 4: they go put the Braves jersey and when they go
- 37:50Speaker 4: put the Pirates, does it numb that excitement for fans
- 37:56Speaker 4: of those teams as well? Saying all right, well, these players,
- 37:59Speaker 4: they were just so excited about that. Now they're playing
- 38:01Speaker 4: in their regular season and they're probably kind of like, man, no.
- 38:05Speaker 2: I don't think it should at all. Like if I
- 38:07Speaker 2: was playing for, like we don't have countries again unfortunately
- 38:11Speaker 2: in our sport, but if we'd have been in college
- 38:14Speaker 2: and they would have put together a team Louisiana or
- 38:16Speaker 2: something like that, I guess that's the closest that we
- 38:18Speaker 2: could have been. Then I would have You know me,
- 38:20Speaker 2: I mean, I'm very of the state. I'm very prideful
- 38:23Speaker 2: from where I'm from. Yep, right, sure, so yeah, that
- 38:27Speaker 2: would mean a whole lot to me to be able
- 38:29Speaker 2: to do that, to have a team Louisiana go against
- 38:32Speaker 2: Team Texas or Team Ever. So I get that, I
- 38:36Speaker 2: absolutely get it. And that's just on the state level
- 38:38Speaker 2: because we don't have you know, national football comedy like
- 38:43Speaker 2: international football. Get the pride for sure. Actually I'm okay
- 38:47Speaker 2: with it because like in the World Cup, you can
- 38:48Speaker 2: hear the same thing. There's gonna be people to play
- 38:50Speaker 2: for Bayern Munich, be able to play for Barcelona, people
- 38:53Speaker 2: that play for Real Madrid, Manchester City, name your club,
- 38:58Speaker 2: biggest clubs in the world, and they're gonna to say,
- 39:00Speaker 2: not even remotely close. Wearing this crest, this flag, oh
- 39:05Speaker 2: my chest in the World Cup means ten times more
- 39:08Speaker 2: than playing for my club, which they love their club
- 39:11Speaker 2: and the fans are great, but there's not one person
- 39:14Speaker 2: that would say that they like playing for their club
- 39:15Speaker 2: more than they like playing for their country. Same situation here,
- 39:19Speaker 2: and like you can see like Ronald Acunya was, I
- 39:24Speaker 2: mean celebrating everything they did, every player was, or you
- 39:28Speaker 2: saw like even Team USA now in a different way.
- 39:31Speaker 2: But like when Gunnar Henderson hit that home run, I
- 39:33Speaker 2: mean you saw Paul Skans have an excitement that I've
- 39:36Speaker 2: never seen from him. Yep.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Ever, yep, it's just a little bit different when they
- 39:40Speaker 4: start the season. They're going to play one hundred and
- 39:42Speaker 4: sixty two, right, So it's like they know it's a
- 39:44Speaker 4: long season and they just went through like the most
- 39:47Speaker 4: emotionally stoked situation maybe in their baseball careers. Certainly that
- 39:53Speaker 4: might be the last meaningful game Paul Skans plays until
- 39:55Speaker 4: the next World Baseball Classic.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Think about that.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Like a lot of people got introduced to Paul Skins
- 40:01Speaker 4: because of this tournament, Like around the country they knew
- 40:04Speaker 4: who he was, but like probably never sat down and
- 40:06Speaker 4: had any intrigue in a game.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Yeah, just to see the highlights of him striking people out.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Yeah, he might not pitch another meaningful game until twenty thirty,
- 40:16Speaker 4: until twenty.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Thirty next World Baseball Classic. How about that? How does
- 40:21Speaker 2: that make us feel? Coley? That sucks for him.
- 40:26Speaker 6: That's a sad thing to think about. You have the
- 40:27Speaker 6: best pitcher in baseball.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Young, the MSA, the Pirates hope to compete this year.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Like they've got great talent in the minor leagues. Dude,
- 40:40Speaker 2: you've watched enough baseball you know that they can be
- 40:42Speaker 2: great in the minor leagues and it doesn't translate to
- 40:45Speaker 2: the big leagues. Make I hope Connor Griffin does well.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I got a lot of investment in him. I hope
- 40:51Speaker 2: he does well. But after like to open the spring
- 40:55Speaker 2: with the home run, he's bat in like a buck eighty.
- 40:57Speaker 2: You don't know how that's going to translate. Like their
- 40:59Speaker 2: farm system looks good. They got a couple of guys
- 41:02Speaker 2: on the mound that if they stay healthy, it could
- 41:04Speaker 2: be good. But you just never know. And the Pirates
- 41:07Speaker 2: historically outside of Barry Bonds and Andy van slike Doug
- 41:12Speaker 2: dre Back, been a long time since they've been good,
- 41:15Speaker 2: So you never know.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Stink Clemente they.
- 41:20Speaker 4: It's even farther back. So in Heshuck knows a lot
- 41:27Speaker 4: about ROVERTA. Clemente. Hate to do a little project on him.
- 41:29Speaker 4: I think in first or second grade they must.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Feel like good.
- 41:32Speaker 7: They must feel a good thing. So we didn't do
- 41:33Speaker 7: a project about him, but we had to read like
- 41:35Speaker 7: a little short story about him.
- 41:36Speaker 2: He had to pick somebody like and you know that's
- 41:39Speaker 2: who we chose. All right, we'll take a break in
