- 0:01If we want deep change in our life,
- 0:04oftentimes it is not about yanking the big doors open,
- 0:09but it's about seeing where the door has been hidden in the wall of our life
- 0:14this whole time.
- 0:25Hello and welcome back to Remember Why You're Here,
- 0:28a podcast for seekers and sensitives where you can relax, receive,
- 0:32reconnect to yourself and remember that most important thing of all,
- 0:36why you're here. I'm Asia Suler, author,
- 0:40earth intuitive. And in this episode,
- 0:44I'm excited to drop into a topic that's near and dear to my heart.
- 0:48And the title of this episode is one that has actually been sitting now in my
- 0:52brain and my spirit for months.
- 0:54And that title is The Subtle Doors Are the Ones That Open.
- 0:59In this podcast today, we're going to explore why that is,
- 1:03why it is that subtlety will be the thing that opens up the new era in our
- 1:08life. Why when something isn't healing instead of trying harder,
- 1:12we need to go for that subtle approach.
- 1:15We need to soften our approach and why this ability to tune
- 1:20into the subtle,
- 1:20how this ability to tune into the subtle is the very thing that opens our
- 1:25perception of the Otherworld, opens our perception and new possibilities,
- 1:29and also allows us to attune to the visions that are
- 1:34awaiting us in this life, the visions we're here to fulfill.
- 1:37I've been really profoundly moved by the way in which
- 1:42my intuitive reading for this month about this month being one of seership has
- 1:45been unfolding so far, the ways in which we're seeing our own patterns,
- 1:50seeing the patterns at play in the world, and then through that seeing,
- 1:54really opening up to new visions in our life and opening up to the kind of
- 1:59seership that really nourishes our spirit.
- 2:03It's been really wonderful to connect with those who've decided to step
- 2:08into my Substack, Remember Why You're Here, same name as the podcast,
- 2:12and those who've decided to become paid subscribers.
- 2:15So this month I released a video class called Be Your Own Seer that is
- 2:20specifically a guide to help you release any of the blocks and
- 2:24obstacles in the way of your ability to see for yourself,
- 2:28to understand what is the language through which spirit and your own wider self
- 2:32and your guides communicate with you.
- 2:34And then I guided folks in the class to receive a vision for the next few months
- 2:38because I just really have this feeling like a lot is going to be moving,
- 2:42shifting, transforming, coming into focus in the next few months.
- 2:45So that's been really rich to sit with folks in that class.
- 2:48And if you're interested in that class as well as all my other paid content,
- 2:52I release about two posts a month, meditations, classes,
- 2:56behind the scene looks at my books,
- 2:58follow-ups on the monthly intuitive readings,
- 3:00then I would absolutely love to see you there, your support.
- 3:03It's really making a lot possible in my world and in this podcast and in all my
- 3:08sharings. So would absolutely love to see you there. If it is resonant for you,
- 3:12I'll put the link here in the show notes. So with that,
- 3:15let's continue on in this theme of really
- 3:19being our own seers. And what does that mean to be able to
- 3:25peer into the world around you and receive the kind of healing and messages and
- 3:30openings that you need? So the title for this podcast, like I said before,
- 3:34it came in months ago and it really was like
- 3:39a healing download for me in the process that I was in at the time.
- 3:43And I realized that this pretty much sums up a lot of the healing work
- 3:48really I've done my whole life,
- 3:50but especially that I've been super focused on in the last five, six years.
- 3:55And it's one that I think us as sensitives really in particular need to hear.
- 4:01So we are entering this time right now where the veil is thin.
- 4:04I talked about this in a podcast a couple weeks ago.
- 4:06We're really in the deep of that time now. We're tipping into Scorpio season.
- 4:11We're entering into that Halloween, Samhain, Day of the Dead portal.
- 4:16It's a time where that veil between the worlds naturally begins to thin and
- 4:22we can start to receive more information from the other side,
- 4:27from the spirit world, from that world that we often call the subtle realm.
- 4:32And so how do we receive these messages?
- 4:36How do we connect to the guidance and the visions that are here to
- 4:41help us in life? The easiest way to do this,
- 4:44the most direct way to do this is to learn how to attune to the subtle.
- 4:50This is one of these things on this planet that I find really fascinating.
- 4:56And if you're a sensitive person like me, we were actually built to do this.
- 5:01But the reality is if we want deep change in our life,
- 5:05oftentimes it is not about yanking the big doors open,
- 5:11but it's about seeing where the door has been hidden in the wall of our life
- 5:15this whole time. Have you ever experienced this?
- 5:19It's like you have a pattern or a program or something in your life you deeply
- 5:23want to move and shift.
- 5:25And it just seems like even when you gather all your energy to yank the door
- 5:29open,
- 5:30it still doesn't quite heal or doesn't quite move or you're not
- 5:35quite clear.
- 5:37That's often because what we want is this obvious answer and this obvious
- 5:42shift and this obvious change.
- 5:44And yet what we're being asked to do is notice that that hidden door
- 5:49has been there all along. It's just about attuning our subtlety,
- 5:53our ability to see subtlety to that kind of perception.
- 5:58And so it's one of these things that came to me in the midst of my healing
- 6:01journey. If I'm stuck at an impasse, if I cannot move forward,
- 6:05if I do not know what to do next,
- 6:08I need to stop making overtures and I need to ask myself,
- 6:11what is the subtler approach?
- 6:15So here's an example, a little bit of a funny example for my own life right now.
- 6:19My daughter is going through a phase right now where lots of sensory stuff is up
- 6:24and no socks will do. No socks are the good socks.
- 6:29And there's many ways I could go about this.
- 6:31We've definitely bought different kinds of socks for her to try.
- 6:35We try different methods to get the socks on, socks in the house,
- 6:39socks in the car, socks right when you get to school. I mean, you name it.
- 6:42And it's one of those things where
- 6:46kind of in the beginning of this journey with the socks,
- 6:49which has been a journey for a long time, let's be real, but this time,
- 6:52this season is just the volume got turned up.
- 6:55I could be a cheerleader for the socks. I could be like,
- 6:57"These socks are so cute. Look at the rainbows, blah, blah,
- 7:00blah." I could kind of get big in my pronouncements like,
- 7:04"If you don't get the socks on,
- 7:06then we won't be able to leave the house and then we won't go do the fun thing,
- 7:08blah, blah, blah," all the things.
- 7:10But what I have found works the best at helping her to get her socks on
- 7:15is simply just bringing over the socks with as much subtlety and neutrality as
- 7:20possible, just going, "Here's some socks,
- 7:23give them a try." And it's this subtle approach where I am
- 7:28not charged, where I am not attached,
- 7:31that tends to be the moment where she actually puts her socks on.
- 7:35And let's be real,
- 7:36she wants to put socks on because she wants to be able to put shoes on and she
- 7:38wants to go out and do things in the world.
- 7:41And it just is such a reminder to me that when we have these things,
- 7:45and this is a silly example,
- 7:47though it is an example that does affect my life on a daily basis,
- 7:50but it's one of those examples where we see that often when we
- 7:55get in that place where something is not working,
- 7:58what we want to do is we want to hit it harder.
- 8:03We want to figure it out, excavate, get that door open.
- 8:08But what if the next great opening in your life doesn't come from trying harder
- 8:14and it's not about pushing further or demanding a breakthrough?
- 8:18What if it's really about learning what to notice,
- 8:23learning how to notice what is already here,
- 8:25how to notice and go into even more subtlety in your life?
- 8:30And this is something that I know through having studied somatic healing that
- 8:34the biggest shifts happen in small increments, the 5% shift.
- 8:39Can I notice 5% more in my body today than yesterday?
- 8:44Can I take a breath that's 5% deeper?
- 8:47And I was always so struck by this,
- 8:49that it's these subtle shifts that are the ones that stick.
- 8:53And oftentimes what's happening in our body when a healing is not taking place,
- 8:58when we're not receiving the vision that we've dearly been asking before,
- 9:01it's because we're putting too much stress, intensity and pressure on ourselves.
- 9:06We're trying to go too big.
- 9:09But we know too that a subtle shift can turn a whole ship.
- 9:13And that is exactly what we're asking for and what we're attuning to when we
- 9:18sink into this phrase, the subtle doors are the ones that open.
- 9:24Because oftentimes we try our hardest to open that big heavy castle door
- 9:29and it feels like we should be able to open the big heavy castle door.
- 9:32If what we're dealing with is that heavy and that hard,
- 9:34we should be able to open that door and it doesn't open and we start to feel
- 9:38helpless. Meanwhile,
- 9:40there's a hidden door right there in the castle wall and all we need to do is
- 9:45run our finger along it and it starts to open,
- 9:47but we need to be able to tune our perception to start noticing more and
- 9:52more subtlety. After all, as I said at the beginning of this podcast,
- 9:57this term the subtle world is a synonym for this term
- 10:01for the spirit world, for the hidden world, for the mystical world.
- 10:06And this is often how we attune to spiritual messages and
- 10:11wisdom.
- 10:11It's often how we attune to the kind of healing that is awaiting us in the
- 10:15Otherworld. All the seeds for our personal healing,
- 10:19they already live in the Otherworld.
- 10:22And it's often just about being able to attune to that wisdom
- 10:27that already is there for us in the world right alongside this one,
- 10:31in the spirit world, the world of the hidden, the world of the subtle.
- 10:34And we do that through embracing subtle information and
- 10:39embracing subtle perceptions. For most people,
- 10:43how we receive visions and awarenesses and intuitive information,
- 10:48it will not hit us over the head. For most people,
- 10:51it's going to be the subtle vision.
- 10:52The one you had that was in your mind when you first woke up this morning,
- 10:56it's going to be the song lyric. It's going to be the title,
- 10:59like the subtle doors are the ones that open that just seem to float in and sit
- 11:04with you and are working on you and seem to be carrying something.
- 11:08It's attuning to the subtle feelings inside of your body.
- 11:12And how did you feel when you walked into that room?
- 11:15How did you feel when you opened your computer and you started to work on that?
- 11:19How did you feel after you had that conversation with that person?
- 11:23I think as sensitive people, many of us are often just surviving our days,
- 11:27which makes sense. There's a lot to survive in this world.
- 11:30But what ends up happening with that is that we don't give ourselves
- 11:35or our lives are not set up in a way where we have the time and the space to
- 11:39attune to subtlety. We are literally just trying to get by and it makes sense.
- 11:43When you are in fight or flight, when you are overwhelmed,
- 11:47it's going to be really hard to hear that subtlety.
- 11:50And yet I think this is what so many of our sensitive bodies are asking of us
- 11:55because here's the deal. As a sensitive, you were born to attune to subtlety.
- 12:00That's literally what the instrument of your body was created to do was attune
- 12:04to subtlety, attuned to subtlety in the shifts of the light,
- 12:08the shifts of someone's emotions or moods,
- 12:10the micro expressions on someone's face,
- 12:14the shift in the emotional body of the herd,
- 12:18the animal that you're with, the family group that you're a part of.
- 12:23All of these things are things that we as sensitives were designed to be attuned
- 12:27to. And what I have found is when as sensitives,
- 12:30we don't have the time and the space to attune to subtlety,
- 12:33things start going haywire.
- 12:36I often say that I have a very loud body in
- 12:41terms of what it communicates.
- 12:42And the moment I step off my own path of authenticity,
- 12:47the moment I overload my plate with too much,
- 12:50I develop a whole variety of very colorful ailments.
- 12:53My body is creative with the kind of ailments that can come up for me in my
- 12:58life.
- 12:59And one of the things that I have learned in a hard one kind of way
- 13:04over these years,
- 13:06now we're going on 20 years of different iterations of chronic health
- 13:11issues, chronic illness, chronic pain,
- 13:14is that when I don't have the space and time to attune to subtlety in my life
- 13:19for whatever reason, maybe I'm overbooking myself,
- 13:21maybe I'm going through a major passage,
- 13:24maybe there are things that are completely out of my control,
- 13:27but when I don't have that time to attune to subtlety,
- 13:30I start getting out of attunement with my own self.
- 13:34I start getting out of alignment with my own self.
- 13:36And so what I have found is that when I
- 13:41even just give myself five minutes to attune to subtlety within my body,
- 13:46what am I actually feeling right now? Where do I feel it? What is that feeling?
- 13:50What is that feeling? How is it striking me? What is its temperature?
- 13:55What is its texture? What is its weight?
- 13:59All of these things, when I give myself five minutes,
- 14:01what does it feel like to stand outside to feel the sun on my skin right now?
- 14:07It helps me recalibrate in a way really nothing else does.
- 14:11And it's this ability to tune to subtlety,
- 14:15including subtlety inside of our own selves that opens up the portal of our
- 14:18awareness and our innate intuitive capacity as sensitives.
- 14:22So I have set back into doing intuitive readings this fall and I have
- 14:27found in my readings that it's often these most subtle hints that I get.
- 14:32It's just like, I don't know, those float into my brain.
- 14:36Something about a certain time period or something about
- 14:40someone's presence in this person's life, it'll be subtle, it'll be neutral,
- 14:43it'll be calm,
- 14:44and I will often want to ignore it at first because it's so subtle.
- 14:48And every time I say yes to those subtle hits and I share them with someone,
- 14:53that is always the thing that ends up being kind of the gem
- 14:58of the whole reading.
- 15:00And so I've learned over time and now through this fall of stepping back
- 15:05into intuitive readings to be even more attuned to subtlety,
- 15:10to prize the subtle over the obvious in whatever it is that I'm receiving.
- 15:14And I often find that these subtle downloads provide the biggest insights.
- 15:21Our spirits will also communicate to us in a subtle way.
- 15:26So as I said, our intuitions often come in in subtle tones,
- 15:31especially at first. In the beginning, it'll be very subtle.
- 15:34And what I have often found is that if I can attune to subtlety,
- 15:38if I can pay attention,
- 15:40the moment that my heart starts beating a little bit faster or the moment that I
- 15:45feel my pelvic floor start to tense up,
- 15:49if I can pay attention to that,
- 15:51if I can slow down and listen and breathe into it,
- 15:55I can often avoid whatever it is, a pain flare.
- 15:59I can avoid a larger falling apart in my life in one way, shape or form.
- 16:04I have seen this happen over and over and over again in my existence.
- 16:08The subtle messages come in first and when we
- 16:12either ignore them because I want to say that,
- 16:15but that's unkind because sometimes it's not like we're ignoring them,
- 16:18we're desperate.
- 16:19It's just that we are stuck in places in our life in which we're overwhelmed,
- 16:23we're overbooked, all the things, and there's always a doorway.
- 16:27There is always a subtle doorway, no matter how overwhelming life is.
- 16:31There is a crack in the wall that is actually a door that once you
- 16:36touch it, it begins to crack open. And so for me,
- 16:40a lot of this does come back to attuning to subtlety within my own body.
- 16:45And this is why this is so essential for my fellow sensitives
- 16:50because what ends up happening with a lot of us in our gifts is that we attune
- 16:54to the outside world.
- 16:57We attune to especially other people's emotions,
- 16:59the weather of what's going on in our family,
- 17:02the social gathering that we're a part of,
- 17:04what's happening at work with all our coworkers,
- 17:07what's going on with our children. These are important skills.
- 17:10It's a beautiful skill to have.
- 17:12And yet what often ends up happening is that we've over attuned to the outside
- 17:16world and under attuned to what's going on within us.
- 17:19And we have a lot going on inside of us. That's on purpose.
- 17:24We are incredibly intuitive because we are such deep feelers,
- 17:27because we are so sensitive,
- 17:30but we need to have the inner permission to attune
- 17:36to what is going on within us. Information is always coming in.
- 17:40It's just that often it is subtle, especially at first.
- 17:44And so this is how our spirit is communicating with us.
- 17:48This is how our body is communicating with us.
- 17:51And if you want that new door to open into your life, ask yourself,
- 17:56how can I attune to the subtle? So
- 18:03this is something that really sits at the center of my heart and of my life
- 18:07experience. As I mentioned before,
- 18:11I have dealt with chronic pain on and off again in my life now for over a
- 18:16decade. And it's something with this iteration of chronic pain.
- 18:20I had a pain condition from my early 20s, come back when I got pregnant.
- 18:24And as you can imagine,
- 18:29it's kind of the nightmare pretty much to have something that you thought you
- 18:33healed come back completely and just be fully back in it,
- 18:37fully and completely back in it and be like,
- 18:39am I just back at square one once again?
- 18:41And because this pain condition is something that I have taught about
- 18:46extensively before, worked with immensely, I thought, okay,
- 18:50I'm just going to go right at it with all my tools and it didn't work.
- 18:55Why didn't it work?
- 18:56Why didn't it work for me to go back into what is
- 19:01chronic pelvic floor pain diagnosis vulvodynia,
- 19:04to go back into this with
- 19:09the sledgehammer of all my tools?
- 19:11It's a question I asked myself for years after it persisted after birth,
- 19:15after postpartum. And the answer,
- 19:19I think a huge answer was the fact that
- 19:24I did not have the space in my life to attune to the subtlety, to realize
- 19:30that what my body was asking of me was not to go to another PT,
- 19:35to sign up for another course,
- 19:37to do another huge overhaul or big ceremony.
- 19:42My body was asking me to slow down and just attune to what is here.
- 19:47Noticing the moment the tension got a little bit more and just breathing into
- 19:52it.
- 19:53Noticing when I had an emotion come up that made me want to just grab for my
- 19:57phone and zone out or get up and start cleaning the house manically,
- 20:02what is arising? What am I actually being asked to feel here?
- 20:07And so this has been a major, very humbling learning lesson for me.
- 20:13I was being asked to reconnect to my ability to attune to subtlety,
- 20:18beginning with my ability to attune to myself,
- 20:22the subtlety within me. As I mentioned before, so often as sensitives,
- 20:26we learn how to smooth over our own emotions,
- 20:31our own intricacies, our own complications, our own feelings.
- 20:35And so we stop remembering that we are subtle beings as well.
- 20:41And the amount of finesse and attention and time and love and energy
- 20:46and presence that we're bringing to the outer world is the same amount of
- 20:50presence we need to bring into our bodies.
- 20:54And one thing that was really interesting for me in healing in this iteration of
- 20:59chronic pain was that even when I went to go see these PTs who worked
- 21:04directly with my pelvic floor, I mean, I probably saw five different PTs.
- 21:08It never stuck and it never worked.
- 21:10And it wasn't until I started working with someone who helped me see my entire
- 21:15body through this lens of subtlety like, huh,
- 21:20do you notice the moment that instead of activating your core,
- 21:24you're tightening the muscles in your neck? Interesting. Let's be with that.
- 21:28Let's be with that subtlety. Can you notice the moment that shifts?
- 21:31We're not even trying to change it.
- 21:32We're just trying to notice the moment that that shifts.
- 21:34And I started to realize that there was a whole complex world
- 21:39of subtle messages inside of myself that I had been missing.
- 21:43And I have a lot of compassion for myself with this because life is hard
- 21:47sometimes. You have big major changes in your life.
- 21:50You're just trying to survive and it makes sense in those moments that we might
- 21:53not be able to tune to subtlety.
- 21:55But why it feels important to say this is because sometimes we can get into
- 21:59moments and times in our life where we feel like there's no hope,
- 22:02where we have tried the biggest things possible and it has not shifted,
- 22:06so it must not be shiftable.
- 22:08And yet oftentimes it's because it's the subtle doors that are the ones
- 22:13that will open. It reminds me too of,
- 22:20I used to, when I was younger, always say to people,
- 22:24I like deep tissue massage. I want to get in deep.
- 22:27I really want you to release that. And I was always told by people,
- 22:30you have a high pain threshold and you can really take a lot of pain.
- 22:33So I thought, okay, this is what you do.
- 22:35You really get in there and then it really releases.
- 22:38And it was really not until I got a little older that I realized
- 22:44those kinds of massages are too intense for me.
- 22:47Even if it is letting go of my muscles, is it releasing the pattern?
- 22:51Is it releasing the pattern of the stress in my body? No.
- 22:54And I realized actually the kind of massage that I used to poo-poo,
- 22:58things with long strokes like lomi-lomi or Esalen massage that I was
- 23:03like, you're barely touching me.
- 23:04It's like you're not getting into my muscles at all. This isn't relaxing.
- 23:07I realized that that actually is what I need. I need the subtle touch.
- 23:12I need the long connective strokes.
- 23:15I need that time and space to attune to what is going on inside of me.
- 23:19I think this is why I have always loved subtle medicines,
- 23:22things like flower essences and energetic healing because over and
- 23:27over and over again,
- 23:28I've seen in my life that the big massive overtures that I have taken,
- 23:33that they don't work and they don't land unless I am attuned to the
- 23:38subtlety. And it's those subtle doors,
- 23:40the ones that crack open that even when we do need to make the big change or
- 23:45undergo the big treatment,
- 23:47if we are in contact with the subtlety while we are doing that,
- 23:53that is the thing that will really open the gateway of our spirit,
- 23:56that will really open the gateway so that this could be a healing on all levels,
- 23:59on a physical level, on a spiritual level,
- 24:01because the subtle doors are the ones that open. So in my experience,
- 24:07the more you can work on the subtle level,
- 24:11how subtle can you get?
- 24:13Can you notice the moment your breath shifts?
- 24:16Can you notice the moment your energy drops?
- 24:20Can you notice the moment that a muscle
- 24:25tightens or the moment that this subtle sense of opening
- 24:30is coming in or that subtle yes inside of your body,
- 24:33the more you can attune to subtlety,
- 24:36the more the subtle world and its levels of healing will open to you.
- 24:42And this is really how we access that healing of the spiritual realm.
- 24:46And when we access healing on a spiritual realm,
- 24:48that ripples out into healing into every other realm of existence.
- 24:53So how do we do this? How do we attune to the subtlety? Well,
- 24:57if you are sensitive, you know how to do this.
- 25:00It's really just about turning the lamp of your attention inwards instead of
- 25:04always having it be focused outwards. And this will require some practice.
- 25:09And that's part of the deal is when we attune to subtlety,
- 25:14the changes are subtle over time as well.
- 25:16This is what I always used to say about flower essences. The changes are subtle,
- 25:21but when they're made, they're solid. When the changes are subtle,
- 25:25but when they really land, it's like they become set in stone.
- 25:29They become something that is so a part of the fabric of our life that we forget
- 25:33what it was even like before. So the very first thing I will say,
- 25:37if you are someone who wants to attune to more subtlety,
- 25:39more messages from the spirit realm,
- 25:42more potential of healing inside of your own life,
- 25:44especially with the things that feel immovable,
- 25:47the first thing to do is to turn the volume down in any way you can.
- 25:52We are all going through at certain times in our life survival period.
- 25:55So take this advice and apply it to where you are
- 26:00at in your life right now, but in any way you can turn the volume down,
- 26:05whether that's having quiet time in the dark before you go to sleep at night,
- 26:09whether it's taking half an hour to go walk outside in the middle of your day,
- 26:14whether it's sitting in the car before immediately walking into the next thing,
- 26:18walking into the grocery store, going to pick up your child,
- 26:21can you turn the volume down a little bit?
- 26:23Can you wear earplugs if you need to for part of your day? Can you wear glasses?
- 26:29Sunglasses. Any way in which we're turning the volume down,
- 26:33we're turning the volume down on the sheer overwhelm of stimulation that we're
- 26:36receiving, which is a lot,
- 26:38especially in our modern world with all the screens and all the devices.
- 26:42It's a lot. It's not subtle. None of that is subtle. It's very overwhelming.
- 26:46So any way in which we can turn the volume down will automatically bring those
- 26:51subtle messages out.
- 26:53It feels like no mistake to me that the biggest insights I've had in my life
- 26:57come when I am either on vacation or
- 27:02retreat or I've decided to turn my phone off for 24 hours
- 27:07or I'm on a walk for half an hour in the woods.
- 27:11It's always in those times when those subtle messages come in.
- 27:15So in any way you can, wherever you are in your life, turn down the volume,
- 27:20let the intensity dial down in whatever ways you have control over because
- 27:24there's a lot of things we don't have control over,
- 27:27but lessening the intensity of some of the inputs in your life so that you can
- 27:31start to notice what is going on inside of me?
- 27:36How can I be more open to the tiny shifts of subtlety
- 27:41within me?
- 27:41And give yourself grace with this because we live in an overstimulating world
- 27:45and all these things take time and they take practice.
- 27:50Also, trusting your hunches.
- 27:53So when you do get a subtle hit about something, take a subtle step,
- 27:57see how it works out. Oftentimes if I get a subtle hit and I take a subtle step,
- 28:02I will feel subtly better.
- 28:04And that is really the best we could ask for because that's what true healing
- 28:08looks like, subtly feeling better and better and better.
- 28:12Subtly getting more and more access to your capacity,
- 28:18subtly feeling more and more alive.
- 28:20That is really what we're going for with healing.
- 28:24I also wanted to guide you through a quick little exercise here.
- 28:27If you have the space and time to help you really feel and attune to subtlety,
- 28:30and this is something you can keep tuning into for yourself as you
- 28:35maybe even repeat this mantra in your life,
- 28:37the subtle doors are the ones that open and you really set a prayer in your
- 28:41heart of like, show me the subtle answers.
- 28:45I want the subtle answers because the subtle answers are the ones that will make
- 28:50the question dissolve eventually with time.
- 28:54So part of becoming a seer is to become an expert in reading your own
- 28:59subtlety. Oftentimes I have a lot of people ask me,
- 29:03how do I know that something is like intuition or a message versus anxiety?
- 29:08And some of this is practice,
- 29:10but once you start to get clear on the packages that they arrive
- 29:15in, it can become pretty obvious.
- 29:19Anxiety will be urgent. It'll often have judgment with it.
- 29:24It'll feel the sensation side of my body will be one of constriction,
- 29:29one of heaviness, one of pressure.
- 29:34It often comes in with either a past or future orientation,
- 29:38something like in the past,
- 29:40like we don't want that to happen again or the future.
- 29:42We better watch out because we don't want this to happen versus
- 29:47intuition is very present focused. It's very neutral.
- 29:51Intuition in some ways doesn't even really care whether you follow it or not.
- 29:55It's just like, here's the advice,
- 29:58here's the subtle offering. When I tune into my body,
- 30:03I tend to feel more expansive, more open. There's no judgment.
- 30:07There's no sense of I have to do this. If I don't do this,
- 30:10then who knows where I'm going to be or how I'll turn out.
- 30:16Instead, it'll more so have this feeling of, why not?
- 30:21Give it a try. Let's see what happens. I'm curious.
- 30:26So the way in which these two bits of information will come in will
- 30:31come in differently.
- 30:32And yet what I often find is the more we can attune to the
- 30:37subtlety within our own body,
- 30:39the less anxiety's going to need to get our attention.
- 30:43The less overwhelming our anxiety will be. And sometimes this is, for me,
- 30:47just a practice of attuning to what is there and the anxiety or the worry
- 30:52or the alarm. And once I start attuning to that,
- 30:56it's like my body can start to let go of these overwhelming messages of,
- 31:00oh my gosh, we're overwhelmed. Do something, do something and be like, oh, okay,
- 31:04Asia's actually paying attention to us.
- 31:05And so now we can get into these more subtle levels or layers of how we're
- 31:10actually feeling. So here's the exercise we're going to do.
- 31:13This is going to be a gentle somatic tracking exercise so that you can feel a
- 31:18yes in your body.
- 31:20And this is really just practice for you attuning to subtlety.
- 31:24The feeling of understanding what your yes is will come more and more over time.
- 31:29Maybe you're already very attuned to this,
- 31:30but it's always a great exercise to just turn our attention to
- 31:35what is a yes inside of me.
- 31:38So the goal here once again is just to be attuned to what's subtly happening
- 31:43inside of you. So to begin with,
- 31:47I invite you to choose something you know you want to do.
- 31:50So it could be something like, oh,
- 31:52I'm so excited to get in my bed tonight and snuggle with my comfy socks on or
- 31:58I want to go out and feel the sun on my face in the garden.
- 32:01Or it could be a vision you really want to fulfill this season.
- 32:04Talking about the visions that are unfurling for us this autumn,
- 32:08a lot of them feel big. I know a lot of you are really in process with things,
- 32:12but if you do choose a bigger vision,
- 32:13just choose something that maybe you don't feel a ton of stress or pressure
- 32:17around, you just feel excitement around. Okay.
- 32:21So once you have that thing that you know is a yes inside of your body,
- 32:24like you know is a yes for you without thinking too much about it,
- 32:29without overthinking it, now just imagine yourself doing that thing,
- 32:33that thing that's just kind of undeniably something you want to do. So for me,
- 32:38it's getting into bed tonight.
- 32:42Super excited to snuggle into my cozy fall bed. And then just notice now,
- 32:47literally even imagine turning the lamp of your attention inwards and just start
- 32:51to notice the subtlety within your body.
- 32:58Notice any sensations are here.
- 33:02Maybe what first draws your attention.
- 33:04Is there an area of your body that it's first drawing your attention in?
- 33:11Just letting your awareness go there with curiosity
- 33:16and noticing what's here.
- 33:21If you had to describe the sensation,
- 33:26what would you say? What is its temperature?
- 33:35Is there a texture?
- 33:41What is its weight?
- 33:45How is it moving?
- 33:52And as you breathe into it,
- 33:54just see if this sensation moves or shifts in any way just as you're breathing
- 33:59and as you continue to imagine yourself doing this thing that you really want to
- 34:03do.
- 34:11And this sensation might be really subtle and that's wonderful.
- 34:17If it's really subtle, attune to what's really subtle about it.
- 34:32And through this attuning right now,
- 34:34just come up with a phrase or a few words that you can use to describe this to
- 34:38yourself. If you're in a space to do so,
- 34:40you could even say this out loud or jot it down on a note in your phone or a pad
- 34:44of paper.
- 34:49And know that this is one way in which your subtle body communicates
- 34:54a yes. Yes, that's something I want to do. Yes,
- 34:58that's something that feels really good. Yes, yes, yes.
- 35:03Okay. Now we've had our yes. Now let's attune to the opposite.
- 35:08Let's try a no. So let's do the opposite
- 35:14of whatever it is you knew you wanted to do. So for me, that's like, okay,
- 35:18instead I'm going to deep clean the kitchen.
- 35:21Instead of getting in bed and resting tonight before sleep,
- 35:23I'm going to deep clean the kitchen. Okay?
- 35:26So choose whatever's your version of deep cleaning the kitchen,
- 35:28the opposite in a lighthearted way,
- 35:30the opposite of whatever this vision was.
- 35:37See yourself doing it. Picture that in your mind's eye. Use your senses.
- 35:42What would it feel like to be in that scenario?
- 35:47What would you hear? What would you smell?
- 35:51And now go ahead and tune into your body once again. Again,
- 35:55the subtlety of what's here and just notice what's different.
- 36:04You might go to that same location in your body or you might go somewhere else.
- 36:10Once again, noticing the sensation, the temperature,
- 36:15the weight, the texture,
- 36:20any movement here.
- 36:32Noticing what a no feels like in your body.
- 36:41And then coming up with a few descriptor words for that for yourself,
- 36:46maybe saying it out loud or again, jotting it down. For me,
- 36:49I felt this heavy constriction around my heart.
- 36:53It felt like just like metal doors kind of falling in on each other.
- 36:58That's my body being like, "I don't want to do that.
- 37:02That's not what I want to do." My spirit being like, "No, Asia,
- 37:06no." So go ahead and shake that off. Once again,
- 37:11place the image of the thing you really want to do and the thing your spirit is
- 37:14saying, "Yes, this is a door that will open for us. Yes,
- 37:17this is a door that is open to us.
- 37:20Just place that back in the center of your heart,
- 37:23in the center of your body." And just know that you got a little bit closer
- 37:28right now to attuning to what is a yes and no inside your body.
- 37:31And then you can start to feel that throughout your day.
- 37:35Do I want to work on my newsletter first or do I want to call my friend back?
- 37:40What's the yes? What's the no?
- 37:42Attuning to the subtlety of what we are feeling in the moment because it's the
- 37:47subtle doors that are the ones that will open.
- 37:51And I promise you, the more you attune to subtlety in your life,
- 37:55the more your life will open.
- 37:59I often find for myself that one of the biggest impediments to me attuning to
- 38:03subtlety is my own patterns of urgency,
- 38:07my own patterns of feeling like I need to do this thing, I need to get it done.
- 38:11It needs to be fast,
- 38:13otherwise people are going to be upset or someone's going to be unhappy with me
- 38:17or everything's going to fall apart.
- 38:19And it's good to notice when those patterns come up and the way in which they
- 38:24push you and the way in which that urgency is actually taking you out of this
- 38:28moment of just noticing subtly what's here.
- 38:31You can notice subtly tracking what's going on inside your body,
- 38:34noticing where your clothes meets your body,
- 38:39maybe where parts of your body meet the floor or meet the surface beneath you.
- 38:44If you are listening to this right now and want to just look
- 38:49around, notice what's here.
- 38:51What are the colors in your room or outside your window?
- 38:56How do your hands feel with whatever it is your hands are doing right now?
- 39:01Notice that when you have the space and the time to attune to subtlety in your
- 39:04life, all these answers start to arrive.
- 39:10Notice that when you gift yourself
- 39:14the space and the capacity to
- 39:18really turn your awareness towards what your sensitivity was designed for,
- 39:23to see and relish in the seeing of the subtle,
- 39:27that all these doors we thought were hidden from us begin to open in
- 39:32our life.
- 39:34So as you move into this season of seeing and this season of
- 39:40downloading this vision of healing for your life and your future and
- 39:46your own aliveness,
- 39:48may this awareness of the subtle continue to open doors for you.
- 39:53And as you attune to this,
- 39:57I guarantee you more and more of the subtle world will come to support you.
- 40:00You'll be able to see the ways in which you are supported in the subtle
- 40:05existence,
- 40:07in the subtlety of all the benevolence that is surrounding you.
- 40:12And if you are interested in going deeper into these kinds of
- 40:17practices, this somatic practice,
- 40:19I do a longer version of this in Be Your Own Seer,
- 40:24as well as doing some work to unblock some of the ways in which fear has
- 40:29kind of placed obstacles at times in our ability to see and our
- 40:34ability to attune within and then to download this wider vision for the
- 40:38future, for the fall ahead, for the vision that is calling you forth.
- 40:43I would absolutely love to see you over in that class on my Substack.
- 40:48And no matter what you're being called towards right now,
- 40:51no matter what is feeling like the right path for you, just ask yourself,
- 40:56what is one small hint you've been getting in your life? I'm serious.
- 41:01It could be tiny, a tiny little hint.
- 41:04This is how my healing path has opened again and again and again.
- 41:07It's not the overtures. It's like the little hint of like, huh,
- 41:11I think that I should go see that person next. I don't know why,
- 41:14but that just seems like the right person.
- 41:16Or I think it's time for me to finally watch that video I saved over on YouTube
- 41:20or read that book or start taking that medicine.
- 41:25Ask yourself, what is one subtle hint you've been getting in your life?
- 41:30Maybe it'll come to you immediately as I'm speaking these words,
- 41:33and can you follow it? Can you follow that subtle hint? Can you
- 41:39go into it like it's a curious adventure to see where it will take you to know
- 41:43that
- 41:46truly why we're here in so many ways is to attune to the
- 41:51great subtlety,
- 41:52the great privilege and subtlety of having a body,
- 41:56of being in this sensitive body, on this sensitive planet,
- 42:01and that there's liberation and subtlety. There is beauty,
- 42:06there is liberation, and there is healing as well.
- 42:10So big blessings for whatever it is you are
- 42:15moving through this autumn,
- 42:16whatever it is you're seeing and through seeing how that seeing is shifting your
- 42:21life. I feel like we are all doing deep, deep work right now.
- 42:25And I think we all need to be reminded as we are moving through a lot of these
- 42:30deep tides that doors continue to open, the doors are never shut.
- 42:36Even when it seems as if a big bar has been placed in our way,
- 42:40there's still that hidden door in the wall of the castle and the subtle doors
- 42:45are the ones that will always, always open.
- 42:49So I'm sending you so much love for the rest of this month and the rest of your
- 42:54season ahead. And as this time unfurls,
- 42:58as you find those doors and the walls of whatever castle you're within,
- 43:03may it bring healing, may it bring possibility,
- 43:06and may it bring you that thing that is perhaps the most healing thing of all,
- 43:11remembering why you're here.
