- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: Did he get another one?
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: No!
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: Give us on his way back and get another one!
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: Come on in!
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it again!
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: There it is!
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: He did it!
- 0:26[SPEAKER_03]: a 40-70 season and a season of life in the other and naturely baseball history from one of the Koenia Junior.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_03]: There's a drive right on the Battle of Evan Barnard.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: What a amazing, he is having.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: He hits this one hard, he hits the line of the left, like Trump, that's ripped up on him.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, guys?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Mike Trout, and this is the sports car C. It's current, bubbling hand.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: What's happening, baby?
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: But what's happening, baby?
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, guys?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: So today's episode, we're going to talk a little bit about the baseball, kind of the update, all things baseball, right?
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it medically, I am going to play dumb hobbyist, who doesn't know anything about cards or anything about life because my brain has leaked out of my right ear.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to let the CDOs enlighten me.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: on the world of baseball and sports cars.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's where we're going today.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: But before we do that, just going to go ahead and dive right into a round table, Bubba has the lead today.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: So one Gary Bubba Wilson.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Matt.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Matt.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_04]: Same old story for me that it has been.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to be redundant every week, but it is the same story in my life here for another couple of weeks.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_04]: Baseball every weekend, all three boys played.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_04]: We had three championship games this weekend.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_04]: So a little humble pie there on Sunday afternoon for three or oh for three.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_04]: I guess that was a well Yeah three for three making it three for three losing it so but it was fun man And I'm in a really good place with the boys with that.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_04]: We're just having fun and it's been it's been really really fun for them So on the card front I'm I'm I'm I'm grooving man I feel like I'm back in I feel like I made a good mindset on where I'm at and I do want to share like
- 2:12[SPEAKER_04]: what ham and I have kind of done in our business together what a month we just put together last month ham by foreign away our biggest month and won't share publicly what those numbers were because it was a very, very big month but no shit.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_04]: And do you want to share him?
- 2:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we can.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'm out with what was that?
- 2:30[SPEAKER_04]: I don't remember the gross.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_04]: I think the gross amount of cards was maybe like $150,000.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we sold out $250,000 dollars in total value of cards last month.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that the profit on that was like 70,37, 75, something like that.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: We basically made 50% return on last month's assets
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: And so to tell why that happened, there was no one magic bullet.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_04]: Like, man, we just chose all the right guys.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_04]: And we got lucky, because I looked at the sheet yesterday.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_04]: We had some losses in there, mixed in.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_04]: There were some cards, but we just, you know, that's part of the how you win, too, is, you know, we sold some cards that, um, we, we went ahead and just got rid of.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_04]: For, like, you know what?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: Well, would you say it was a biggest profit?
- 3:17[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, there's no doubt.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_04]: There was a Jordan that little Matt found that was one of those Jordan East West.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_04]: That was a crack.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the crack.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: Dr.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, a nine.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_04]: And I think we made 15, 16,000 on that one card.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you know, a lot of grading wins.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_04]: We also had a conner Griffin that we bought back.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_04]: back in the maybe December timeframe and orange that we graded that we bought it for 8,000 we got a 10 and we sold it for close to 30.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you know, that's a so there's some big wins in the grading column for us.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_04]: But that's that's been fun.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_04]: Austin and I and what we're doing the businesses done well is what we had a really, really good month.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_04]: I was looking at our numbers kind of historically with Justin and I this year as well we're 31% profit margin on the year and again same story we've taken some losses So where we needed to take losses and I think that is where the story is we talked about this rebalance and I think that's kind of my story for me And I okay because we can talk more about this during the show, but like I've just been in this rebalance of selling some cards I needed to sell buying some others then I've been wondering like who's next?
- 4:24[SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about JJ and Conner and we've talked about McGonagall.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_04]: Well, some of these guys are still now.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_04]: They're not next.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: They're now.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, like JJ and Conner's market kind of revived lately with his play.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's like McGonagall people finally woken up to who he is.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: And then JJ is kind of hanging there like people are kind of like,
- 4:43[SPEAKER_04]: And we know he's good, but we're going to put our money where our mouth is, well, news flash, the kids are beast.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_04]: And so I think, I think that's where I'm at now.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_04]: I started to really dive in on this minor league stuff as well.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_04]: And no kind of who the next wave is and get a lot more comfortable there.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_04]: And so I'll make this kind of my last comment for we go, what you all have done in the last week, but I did start to dive in, which we'll do next week's episode on the next release.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, Kern and Ham, I sent that to y'all last week.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_04]: It's actually way better than I thought.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_04]: And I do want to kind of say that to our listeners, because honestly, I've been sleeping on it.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: But when you got guys like Fortun Tino in there, who's an obvious name, but there's a lot of not obvious names in that release coming up, which we'll talk on next week as well.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_04]: But that's kind of where I've been rebalancing.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_04]: the playbook I guess you'd say.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll I'll kind of fall in line here.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know last month one of the things I want to say is that You know, we did have big wins on the Jordan and the Connor that we mentioned, but like that Connor also got lost in grading for like a month and it went you know Kind of zero dark 30 and PSA said oh, yeah, we have it.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not showing up or whatever and so we could have like weighted
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: on that one card and rolled the dice on winner loss.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: The thing is, as we probably sold 30 or 40 countercards in between the time we sent that to grading and the time we got it back.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: So we were kind of churning the butter the entire time and then that big wind popped.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we also had a tiger woods that we cracked that did not upgrade.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: A Mike trout, we cracked that did not upgrade.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: So it's kind of this balance, right?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're willing to take those risks and kind of keep turning the butter, then the big wins when they hit, you know, it makes sense.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: That was huge for us.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it was just a great month for us and this endeavor.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: And it created a lot of energy for sure.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing that I've been boys is, and I told Blubber Pre-Show, Dom Sprint right now, like my tank is running on empty.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like I got that Jackson Brown's going on my head, running on empty.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't say that like problematic, like I need help.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I'm just in a season of life where I know I have to run, because as the CEO of the insurance agency, you know, we have a new admin, we're hiring two new producers.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still dealing with clients, like there's just a ton of demand on my time and energy right now in the office.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: And even to do this recording, you know what I mean is is a is a commitment and challenge away from this this thing over here that's needing me and so that's been you know a new season for me it's not eternal is just a moment in time so I've got to figure out a way to kind of get my mind right.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: And every day, choose gratitude, and thankful that I have this opportunity.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thankful that I have the ability to lead an organization.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thankful that I have the ability to serve these clients instead of going on my notch, another phone call, oh my gosh, another quote, because on the heels of our biggest month in sports cards, I had my biggest month at the agency.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we did $100,000, you know, in, in premium last month, which for us was 20% over our highest month and probably like 30 to 40% over our average.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's just like right now, I'm kind of drinking from a fire hose and trying to say thank you is kind of my life.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I will say this.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: We did
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: Escape last weekend my wife that I took my two daughters Sarah James who's 10 and Emmy who's six we took them to a Brandon Lake concert if y'all know who Brandon Lake it Brandon Lake
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I'm getting ready to explain to you.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: New Yorkers need to, we're going to culture you in a little bit.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: So Brandon Lake is kind of a crossover Christian country artist.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: And he did the song last year with Jelly Roll.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: That was called Heart Fault Hallelujah.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think it won a Grammy.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know Jelly Roll with?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: My Jelly Roll don't have any more Jelly Rolls, by the way.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, jelly rolls.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Loss of it.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know who jelly roll is?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Vita, couple jelly rolls.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, so Brandon Lake is, uh, is this crossover artist, what was cool because he actually did a debut with a song with Nick Jonas.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the Jonas Brothers guard.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you current.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, this guy's a little opposed, right?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that is.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_04]: He's got a shirtless photo.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he does.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: And we all know he loves the Jonas Brothers.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, he did a debut with Jonas Brothers with Nick Jonas, which was really neat.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: But it was one of those moments where in the middle of the busy and the crazy, we were outside and Charleston, South Carolina.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: It was actually raining.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: But it was this surreal kind of moment with my daughters just watching them enjoy themselves.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, those are the kind of things that I love that I haven't been able to do much of.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: And when I do them,
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing them on kind of like high speed but it's like we buzz down there.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: We go to the concert.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: We buzz home and I'm trying to just pause and enjoy those moments and go figure while we're down there with the girls little Matt has his best travel basket ball game ever in kind of a high stakes tournament drops 26
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: on a team at a South Carolina had eight threes and got posted to the Twitter page of this like, you know, showcase event or whatever.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like texting me while we're with the girls and it's like his little picture on Instagram or Twitter X wherever it was.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, ham.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: six-one shooting guard from North Carolina leads all scores or something like this, you know?
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, man, this is like crazy dude.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like my wife is going by so fast right now and like, I just hope I enjoy it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: So not to be sentimental and like overly, but like that's kind of where I am right now.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, just like massively overwhelmed and grateful and just making sure I don't miss it.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate you taking the time out of your day and the commitment for all of us to do this.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: Because, you know, we don't get paid to do this, but we enjoy doing it and we're all busy.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: for sure.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Really.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we can we kept this going on for over a year now and when we made a commitment at the beginning, it was we're going to do this every single week and we have.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of my favorite things to do is loop back on some old episodes and just find things that I can make fun of blah, blah, blah.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is current pastime.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: because I like I'll do the same with me.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: There's not much with you, man.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not much.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'll then know when you talk about like, you know, you know, like pastor stuff.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: I like I get a good laugh, but like, Bob, it's just the way you say things is too funny to me.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you and you know, it's just I, there's so many, I'm going to start running them down.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of my favorite things to look back and then laugh at that.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: I love the way Bubba says coffee, coffee.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: But there's nothing, there's nothing that gives me a better laugh, and then that's venture Jones episode with Arum.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: It was too funny.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_04]: I've seen my boy Spencer, he's still hitting bombs.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_04]: The Yankees hate him.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: They hate him.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_04]: The look on public space.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_04]: The look on buzz.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, at the Yankees, the Yankees scare me in general with prospects.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like I was debating, you know, the last couple of days, whether I, you know, I've gotten a couple, I got in a couple of really, really strong offers on the, the Lumbar Super.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: And like,
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: I was thinking about taking it and then ultimately declined it because I think it's worth more, but it's tough to do because like the Yankees scared the hell out of me, you know, like he should be up at the second half of this year, but I don't think he will be just because the Yankees just slow play their guys, you know?
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: But, personally, for me, again, redundant for me, you know, like I'm very much on a strict regiment here, like, you know, work in family time, you know, this weekend, I got to catch up with a couple of bodies in my wife and
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: them in their spouses went out to dinner, I hadn't seen them in a few years, somebody's from high school in college, so it was really nice to do that, spend time with the kids, and they had play dates and things like that.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: From a car perspective, again, selling where it makes sense, and a lot of the stuff I have right now, it just makes sense.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: I started going, I keep like weekly, I go through, or sometimes daily, I go through my my cases or my safe, and I see what I have, and I'm like, okay, I realize that I have stuff that like,
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't even know I had, you know, and these guys are hot.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, okay, I should sell this, you know what I mean?
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: So that's been happening a lot.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like a lot of the guys that have are playing well and we'll get into that kind of stuff.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's guys that just, I'm like, that was a bad buy, you know?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: That was a terrible buy.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: But other than that, man, just same old for me.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like every week is redundant for me because I'm really just, I'm just working.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm having family time, more so than ever, which I'm enjoying.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, and yeah, I was going to tell you like one of the things man is in this is might be one of those pastoral things, right, that you like pick on me about down the road.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I think one of the things I'm trying to learn in my 40s is just like to be okay with that.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think we've become so condition to being stimulated all the time and having something going on.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's like just be okay to be in the rhythm of life.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: And work and take care of your kids.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: Can you be satisfied?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: Can you be at peace with that?
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: I had one of the year ago, a couple of years ago, I took a word that's like a framework through which I see the year.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: And the word was content.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because I was kind of praying and thinking about things, I kind of kept feeling like you're not content.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I think in the world it's like never be content man.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: You've got a hustle and never be content by my contentment is a pretty powerful thing when when you can harness it.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of a mindset that I that I've tried to bring so anyway, just to throw that in there.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_04]: I do want to do want to say this before.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_04]: So I forgot to mention I think we're incurring your 40 now, right, you're in their 40s.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so graduated to the 40s this last Saturday and this is the common theme that, you know, we all have now we're all 40s, but I wanted to share the birthday morning a little bit since we're going deep here with each other, but also wanted to talk about
- 14:10[SPEAKER_04]: what's really cool, kind of knowing in the background and just watching.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's happened to me, it's happened to Kern, it's happened to ham, and it's almost like we all pass it along at different times, how when our lives, it's funny to see how the pressure in anxiety at times and stresses a life and things that happen, no one's immune from it.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_04]: And if you watch this show and you've tuned into what we talk about our lives in our week to weeks, why do we do this?
- 14:37[SPEAKER_04]: Why do we why did we start this show this podcast and say, what's going on in our life to be real with y'all?
- 14:44[SPEAKER_04]: And it's like, Ham's got it this week.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_04]: I've had a touch of it, Kurn, you've come out of it.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_04]: Like we've had this balance and it's no one's ever going to be immune from it, where we have these times where life, the pressures on us.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_04]: So we're we can feel a little off balance.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we may be a little too heavy over here, little too heavy over here,
- 15:01[SPEAKER_04]: So I felt that way a little bit myself just being drinking from a fire hose and so I told myself Friday night going to Saturday.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_04]: I said, I want to wake up earlier.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_04]: I just began out.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_04]: We have baseball that morning.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_04]: I want to get up early, have my time, turn in 40.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_04]: My brother-in-law, and I don't know if I'll tell the story before.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_04]: ended up having like all the signs to have pancreatic cancer which would be terminal for him a couple years ago he's in his 30s and he decided to go through this whole process of getting his pancreas taken out knew what's called a wipple and a long story short he told me he said during this project I'll like tons of weight was like not feeling well as low as you can get and he told me he said man sometimes you just have to have quiet.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_04]: You have to take this thing, turn it off.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_04]: You have to turn the TV off.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_04]: You just need to sit there and quiet.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_04]: And on Saturday morning, I sat there for an hour.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you all have done this in the last year, but I challenge any of our listeners to do this that feel like they're stuck a little bit or they're under pressure anxiety.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_04]: I sat there by 40th birthday, saturday morning for anybody was moving in my house.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_04]: And I sat there and I thought, I said, I want to go back to my earliest memory.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_04]: I want to go back to the earliest thing I can think of.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_04]: And I want to come all the way back to my 40th birthday.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_04]: By the time I was done in the time my wife woke up around 7 a.m. Dude, I'd been crying for an hour and a half.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_04]: Because you think about your grandparents.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: You think about your parents.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_04]: You think of your childhood.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_04]: You think of the mistakes you've made.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_04]: Some of the good times.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_04]: I just challenge you to really do that.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_04]: Look at your life.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: And you look at that 40 years old and say, man, where do we go from here?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's just challenge people to do that.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_04]: How that quiet sometimes.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of my first memories is being it being a chase stadium sitting in the Mezzanine and a peanut dropping between my legs and I flicked it and it hits and it hit the guy in front of me He's head and he turned around.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: He started yelling at me.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: That was four years old.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's my one of my first memories There we go There's set the stage for your current.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's great great advice, Baba.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I do want to
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: echo that to all of our listeners takes some time to do those things is certainly important and as always, we get so many people that reach out to us on the show.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: I heard going through stuff or whatever, we're grateful to be able to, you know, be a vehicle for you guys to have some community there.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's a big, big thing for us.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: Boy's good good stuff kicking off the roundtable portion of the CEOs today.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so we're going to treat today's episode a little bit like baseball for dummies.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what's been going on in the MLB?
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: What's been going on in the minor leagues?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: What are the top story lines?
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: And we're just going to chat about that.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: But before that, little mat was eager to do a one minute with little mat.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: So he wanted to update on the couple of cops.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to play a one minute with little mat and then we'll dive into kind of the baseball
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, everybody?
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's little mat.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to one minute with little mat.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a minute since I've been on here.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you've enjoyed the podcast so far.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: All three boys are on this week.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a great, great episode.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: All right, one minute with little mat.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna give you the Comps first.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Kicking it off, we have a Mike Trauer Fractor, BDS 9.5, just so for $12,000.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: Next, two Kevin McGonagal gold sales.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: One, 12.5k and the other 10.4k.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: Guess which one was our sale?
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you get set the lower sale, but you know, it happens.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: We still make a good money on that card.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Next, we have the no one McLean true red that sold for $8,400.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's an absolute crazy sale, especially for a picture.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, schemes definitely change the picture market, but no one McLean is absolutely shoving this year.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: And last but not least, we have a peak crow arm strong True Orange 10 that sold for $6,000.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: Last year that was over $20,000 car.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the comps of the week boys.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: I got a question for you.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: This year Who do you think the sion should be from both sides?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all let me know and y'all the
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: All right, thank you, little Matt, boys.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Knopf, the baseball segment of today's show, what's going on in the world baseball.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: A little Matt had a question about Si Young.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: We can start there.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: We can come back to that later.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: We have some talking points, but current, what's your thoughts?
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's, I don't know, it's always too early with the Si Young.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like, people are talking Si Young with Ms. Araski last year before, yeah.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: you know, made that all-star game and then just went downhill from there a little bit.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know, O'Connie, right?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: O'Connie.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: This year.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, it's hard for me to think schemes on the net and then actually because I just, I, I really, I could see his numbers, but I really only saw him pitch that one game an opening day against the mess and I saw him get lit up, you know?
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: I, you know, I'm gonna, I'm gonna be a homer and say my clean's gonna be in there until the end.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: Um, because this stuff is nasty, but I don't really have an opinion on the picture side of that stuff.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_04]: I really don't.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_04]: But you got any thoughts here who's dealing?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, there's a ton of guys dealing Chris sale for the braze being one of them.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, one of the things to be an MVP, your team has to be good.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, Chris sale being one of those guys on a good team.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, Cam Schlittler has been absolutely ridiculous and so is Sorriano for the angels.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that guy's been just unconscious, but it goes on and on.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I actually kind of springboards us into one of the topics this week.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_04]: So, Arum has given us 10 kind of early in the season things that stand out to him.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_04]: I reached out to Arum earlier in the weeks at, hey, man, we want to talk about the season so far.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_04]: Can you give me 10 things that you want to outline to our listeners?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_04]: Um, so he did, and we'll share some of those, but then I did, I've kind of written down roughly 10 things.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_04]: I think current got some stuff as well to kind of share.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_04]: But one of those things right now is when you look at pictures and you talk about what little Matt just said about schemes and the pictures market, I mean, look at why pictures are exciting right now.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_04]: Chase Burns is doing it in the major leagues.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_04]: Mizorowski is doing it in the major leagues.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_04]: Schlittler is doing it in the major leagues.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: Gavin Williams is doing it in the major leagues.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_04]: Totally is doing it in the major leagues.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm leaving out a lot of other names.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_04]: So pitching to me on these young pictures is something, again, I'm not telling you to own that card for ever and trying it over your bedboast.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_04]: but yeah, I don't think it's a bad place to dip the toe.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_04]: I've been buying Gavin Williams since before the preseason.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_04]: I've been talking about it.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_04]: That dude is a dude.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_04]: And so if you can get on some of these guys when the prices are low, it's not a bad place to be.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_04]: What else you got?
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: So let's stop in here guys.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, we're going to treat this kind of like, and I'll be honest, I have not watched a lot of ball games nor have I looked at a lot of box scores.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so I catch wind of what you guys say and what the boys say or whatever, but we'll kind of go through these points here that are I'm put together and then bubble you guys can interject but you know what are I'm said is is definitely something that is on the front of kind of Everybody's mind when it comes to being a true pure hitter.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: He said when you're done Alvarez is healthy.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: He is the most well-rounded hitter in baseball And you've got you're done who's having an absolute
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Rockstar season this year.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: What do you got thoughts on your Don card values?
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: All those different types of things.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't really follow your Don's market too well, but I just I imagine it's somewhat strong, but not as strong as it should be, you know, and I don't know whether that's because he's in Houston or because he's a DH.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: I really don't know.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: But he is, I mean, the Warren statement is true.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: The guy's an absolute powerhouse.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: But again, his market should be stronger than it is, not to say it's not strong.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, when you look around the league and you see other guys, Mark, it's not, you know, being stronger than yourdons.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: When yourdons is potentially the best power hitter than, you know, judge in this league, it doesn't make sense.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: So, are PSA-9, yourdon Alparez, first of them in true gold.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: What would you think, Bob?
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: price wise, right.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm sure gold.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just sold.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: A third.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I haven't looked at his market in probably the last year and a half.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_04]: So this is a total off the I'm going to say 2500.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say I was going to say 21.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: through gold none.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, you look at that compared to prospects through gold, you know, the mean that everybody's chasing some of these other guys are going to get to on the list.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, your Don is is top of the league and batting average.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's still young.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's still proven himself for whatever common interesting stack to consider.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think it was a good.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_04]: I was just like one reason that I think your Don has not gotten the love when you look at this career stats.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_04]: He's had
- 23:30[SPEAKER_04]: four years over 30 home runs okay so which is great right 33 37 31 35 but he does not have any speed his batting average is career 298 which is phenomenal but he's never had he's never had that MVP season because his RB eyes have been 86 97 97 if this ends up being the year that he's
- 23:54[SPEAKER_04]: 44 home runs 330 with 130.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_04]: Then all the sudden I think that respectful come to him.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that maybe that's what this year is for everybody's known to do can rip forever.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_04]: Since he's come up, I mean, his first year 2778, Re13, right, his first year in the pro.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_04]: So the dude has always been over to hit.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: She's will heap.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of like we talked about before a lindor.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_04]: When that player has that MVP from a sports center season, watch what happens to the card value.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_04]: So you're done right now.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe an extreme value if he ends up being MVP.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think at least for me, like once a player has a, you know, a few years or several years behind them in in the league.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: You start looking at, I start looking at where is this guy's place in the future?
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like where is he stand?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there's like the minor league to MLB hype where we're in with like Connor, Magonical and JJ and those guys, right?
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: But like once you're in the league for the amount of time that your down is in the league, I start thinking, you know, I'm not, I'm not thinking like quick flips or anything like that.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking like if I'm going to buy into that market, you know, where is he stand, where is he going to stand all time?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and is it going to be worth it?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think that happens?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: You're three.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think the time frame is there?
- 25:10[SPEAKER_04]: It really depends when that first big season is.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, and when is that banner season that you can go or I'll give you an example, because this was going to that'll lead over into my first point that I was going to say, is look at Matt Olson, okay?
- 25:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, he's a brave.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, Matt Olson is killing it right now.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_04]: But Matt Olson is at 300 home runs.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_04]: Matt Olson's going to end up probably hitting 500 home runs in his career.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: Eventually they will get to 100 and 500 and get there, you know, you're right in that respect nobody cares now But like that's a guy that if you own he just hold on to because eventually he'll be appreciated.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think yeah He's a beast.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's tough in the it's tough in the middle of the markets to make money on guys like that But if you're talking about five ten-year in term.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean you look at
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, guys who, I mean, like Andrew Jones, right?
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, everybody was, he was under value.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Never made the hall.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: And he finally makes the hall.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably going to start seeing a little bit more appreciation for him and his cards.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Where could he's the whole family member?
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: There are people out there who collect Hall of Famer, rookie guards, right?
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: So when you have a market that is collecting a certain type of player and then you add a new player into that demographic, it's going to create value because there's more demand on it.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong guys, but like from a Bowman standpoint, and that respect of like Hall of Fame caliber and actually, you know, the only person like the only bigger name player that's like retired that has Bowman cards and you see the effect of those those those cards is Albert Polos, you know, I don't think I don't know if there's more Adrian right right.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Adrian Veltray, but there's not a lot of my putters is like there's not a ton of guys that we've seen how their Bowman market is affected once they're retired, you know, well you look at you look at like early stuff like Kershaw and Burland or all those and stuff like that those guys.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, they're not retired yet.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're not.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: I know what I'm saying.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you already looking going Dang like they're they're fairly.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know for that first moment
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: Because again, we can not potentially wrap our heads around the reality.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: Little man, I were talking about this the other day.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of an interesting, just bear with me for a second.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: You look at the Derek Geter SP.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the Derek Geter, you did everybody goes after.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the SP, Derek Geter.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: How many of those cars do you think were graded ballpark?
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even begin.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, what, 1,000?
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my god.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: 15,000.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say 10.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: There's 20.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's why it's 10 goals.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a 12th grade card.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: That card just did $350,000 at home.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: A PSA nine of that card.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's only 700 of those and the price point drops from 300 k down to 8500.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Go back to a 52-manel.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: Again, people forget there was only 2,525 hundred of them ever graded.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: right.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: So you're talking 200 times the population and then you start to look at the demand and stuff.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's really interesting when you get into the nuance of this kind of stuff.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: So my point is when you have a Bowman Gold of a Hall of Famer, there's only 50 copies, only 50 copies.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: And so regardless of the grade, you only have one of 50 copies.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: You're in a mean.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really, really something to be mindful of when you look at long-term
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, so, Bob, you said you had another point.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: Let's keep rolling here.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so my number one point in the list.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_04]: And again, Kerr is going to, he's going to snore me here, but I'm, so hear me out, though, Kerr.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_04]: And this is for people that are looking for value.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_04]: Good teams teams that are playing well are going to bring value in a season.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm a homeowner to this team, but I want to give some, I want to give, I put a lot of effort into this team.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_04]: The braves are really good this year in their own obvious.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no, no, no, there's value to be had there.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_04]: Acunious slow start and injury right now is a value.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's a, it's a grade one hamstring strain.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_04]: People are acting like the dude can't play.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_04]: He's a value right now, but you go down that list.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_04]: Olsen's orange, about one last night for $1,700.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_04]: Mad Olsen.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_04]: He's on MVP pace right now.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: He's got 12 homers, 30 something RBIs, leads the league and a lot of categories.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_04]: Olsen is dirt sheet.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_04]: You know another guy that's dirt sheet, and he's gotten that way as Michael Harris for the defensive center field where he is, he's fixed the swing, he's dirt dirt sheet.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_04]: You could dip your toe into blues of Michael Harris for almost nothing right now.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_04]: You could dip into gold's really cheap, but then you go down the line with the braids.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_04]: The Braves got a guy in Diddy Air Fuentes that's pitching in their bullpen right now because they don't have a spot for him in the rotation.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_04]: He's 20 years old and he's a stud and he's sitting there at cheap blues or 300.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_04]: J.R. Richie, future superstar in the rotation.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_04]: But then you look at Chris Sale.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_04]: Chris Sale does not get respected for what he is.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_04]: He's already top 30 guys.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_04]: all time and strikeouts.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you all knew that.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_04]: Top 30 all time and strikeouts.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_04]: If he completes the next two seasons, which he probably will, if he stays healthy, he's going to break that top 20 list in probably class Clayton Kerschel.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: If he gets another sigh young this year, and this is in the conversation we can have, Chris Sayel, you look at this conversation of Max Scherzer Clayton Kerschel, just in Verlander.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_04]: Sayel is going to be on that podium with these guys.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_04]: And no one talks about him.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_04]: And what he's doing late in his career.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_04]: And then the last guy for the braze I want to talk about, Drake Baldwin.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_04]: He might be the MVP of the National League right now.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_04]: Playing the catchers position, the way he's hitting the ball.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_04]: So that was one of my points I wanted to share on value is finding teams that are playing well.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_04]: Because as the season progresses, people are going to be seeking those players that you get closer to play all the time.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_04]: Right now, guess what?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_04]: Most of the pricing has not caught up on these guys.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: So, no to the listeners, target briefs.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's a fair, that's a fair little nugget take away for our listeners.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: One of the other things here that that arm alluded to is Ellie De La Cruz.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: He said, we're finally seeing the Ellie De La Cruz.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: We thought we were going to see.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I still think it's early.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm looking, he's batting 285 with 10 home runs.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's got 25 RBIs.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: The reds are playing really, really good.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: The reds don't really have a superstar.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, South Stewart's rake in the ball, but like Ellie has that superstar potential on that squad.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: So what are you guys?
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: And he's only 24 years old, by the way.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yourdons, 28, at least 24.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: So where are we on Ellie Delacruz CEOs?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's figured it out and he's and he's a superstar.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: He is.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be around for a long, long time.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's got speed.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's got power.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: He is markets up four and a half percent and the last seven days, but people never really went anywhere on alleys.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the alley craze is prices.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're always at right here.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they've went down, but they've never plummeted.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: They've never plummeted.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: Elie's the kind of guy who always he would do one thing.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: throughout the season are two things which you would do.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: He'd hit, you know, stand up triple, two stand up triples and inside the park home or have a couple of home run game and or have a, you know, 100 mile an hour throw from shortstop to first like he'll always do something that's spectacular that is hobby positive, you know.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Ellie's figured it out.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think this is the real Ellie.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: And the fact that the reds are actually competing now,
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: So again, looking at this, this is kind of interesting to me.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: Using the same concept that we used for your own hours, a true gold, a true gold first Bowman auto, okay?
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: There has only been one sale of an LEDale crew's publicly.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: One sale of an LEDale crew's true gold Bowman auto this year.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: And it was a PSA 10.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: The last PSA 9 sold in November of last year.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: and it sold for $3,900.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: The PSA 10 that just sold an April, $2,500, $13,7.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: My God, PSA 10, $13,7.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, hell, I got an orange 10, 10, let's go.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: So the point being is, look at your don, right?
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: 2.8k on his PSA 9, but there's been some sales.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: Ellie, this is the perfect thing we talk about all the time.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: People hold these cards.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: People hold these cards.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: And when you hadn't seen an LEPSA 10, go on the market for a year Ish, the last PSA 10 before that to sell publicly, according to card ladder here, sold in July, last summer at $7700.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: So it's up.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's doubled for last public sale.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, interesting thought that that's what position and age will do an excitement for the hobby.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you're on has the power, we're comparing your right.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Ellie's got the power, the speed, the personality, the swag.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's the difference between age and positioning.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: Please short stuff.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: So let's carry this on, Bob, I know you got another point, but this is going to lead into our next thing.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about Kevin McGonagall.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of RM's points.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: He said Kevin McGonagall is one of the most developed prospects we've seen in this decade.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's basically said, what Kevin McGonagal is doing in his debut season as unheard of.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: McGonagal's batten 315 with an 884 OPS.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you look to his walk to strike out ratio, just his ability to get on base, he's raking.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's hitting doubles.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: So now let's go back to this.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: We just said this little mat.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of his comps.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: At PSA 10, Kevin McGonagold gold just did 10.4 and then another did 12.5 and so you look at where McGonagold is in his market, compared to Ellie, compared to Yordon and you start to see the variation here and this is where you can kind of, you know, try to find value.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: Um, with the exception of the high end and that stuff, like not to, you know, I know this isn't not everybody's in that market, right?
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: But like if an L if an L red were to go on in the market, it's doing okay.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you know, in the Magonical red just it's way.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you know, so I think the mid tier stuff you could stack up in the respect to that.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, but the red like the reload number stuff.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, way higher.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, have a demand.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think the point is as far listeners is like, utilize what what you see in this market and this performance and the hype of these guys compared to their respective values.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: Because what you might find is that McGonagall on a gold, it did 10.4, whatever it was in L.A. did 13.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: If you go to their base autos and L.A. is doing 800 in McGonagall's doing 7, you know what I mean?
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: based on population and all that kind of stuff.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: So again, using these variations in the market and stuff, I think is important.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: But talk a little bit about my conical boys.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think I do think we're seeing something special emerge there as far as his skill set.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: We just wonder, and Kern, you've said this, is he gonna have the high, is he gonna have the sexy?
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I look, one of those things is it's more of like a personal feel to it, right?
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I know he knows, nobody could predict the future.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: The guy is obviously an unbelievable hitter, unbelievable.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: What he's done is what he's done is a rookie is unimaginable, honestly.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't see him as one of those guys have slowing down on the second half or having a sophomore slot by thinking he's just that good of a hitter.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: from the hobby perspective, just, I don't know, it's a gut feeling.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't feel it, you know, I just don't feel it over time.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, if he has more power, but you're not, you're not quite seeing it yet.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: If that picks up significantly, I might start to buy in a little more from a long term perspective, right?
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: Like,
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I just wonder if eventually he gets lost in the shuffle, like I've said before, from a hobby perspective, you know.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: I have no basis, no factual evidence to prove that other than my gut feeling.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's a fair gut feeling, but I think Kerm, my friend Kerm, is Mr.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_04]: Metric.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_04]: that just came out recently on Kevin McGonagall.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_04]: And it's a fair point, two current points.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_04]: But again, this metric, I think, is helpful for people that are looking at him.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_04]: He was like number one on the list of expected home runs that should have happened this year that haven't happened yet.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was like almost five and a half home runs that should have gone out.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_04]: That one, most fields, or where they were hit that didn't go out.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_04]: If those home runs happen, and all of a sudden Kevin McGonagall was sitting there doing what he's doing with five or six more home runs, wherever his price is at.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_04]: You know, he's on that top 10 list right there with Michael Harris and a couple of guys.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: But to be honest, see if whatever reason that is, whether bad luck or, you know, not saying it's a lack of power, there's bad luck in this case, right?
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: But like, if those do go with fence, I'd probably have a different gut feeling right now.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, whatever the reason underlying reason might be.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_04]: And that's I think that's where it's interesting with mechanical is people are already on that a little bit like I've seen his values in the last week and a half go up dramatically so people are starting to already wake up to him and I think we talk about it all the time we have to realize that we're not the norm the majority of people
- 38:43[SPEAKER_04]: are just now 30 45 days figuring out who Kevin McGonagall is if you know if I'm talking to my dad who watches baseball every single day of he's starting to go I'm here in that Kevin McGonagall name all the time who is that he came to be their day and goes I really like that Connor Griffin kid and I'm like oh you do I'm glad you do.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's funny, you know, it's funny side note real quick, not to get off track, but I was out to dinner on Saturday night and I'm walking with one of my boys afterwards, I hadn't seen a while.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: But he likes, he likes baseball, he's not watching baseball games like that.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's a met's fan, he'll casually watch some games, right?
- 39:17[SPEAKER_02]: But he's 41 years old and he likes sports and whatever.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, we're talking about my trout and he's like, who is that?
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, what?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you serious right now?
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: He was like, you know what I'm like?
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: You don't know my best friend?
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, I just, I'm like, dude, it's one of the best players of our generation.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, can't add it here.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I would know the name.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, we're about like Mike Piazza and Greg Maddox.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, no, I'm like, dude, I'm like, Chatchee PT, Mike Trappernet.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: The first line that comes up.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's considered one of the best players of the gender of this generation.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, but that's a baseball is just so not like, like, universal to everybody.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's very regional.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like, well, it is, too.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you think about baseball, though, like, after the steroid era and after all that drama, I think baseball fell off significantly.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think people just kind of snub their nose at it.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: And you started to see, you know, just kind of this mid, like, from 2000 and
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: you know, 10, whatever it was through like the pandemic, like it was kind of like overlooked, you know, the main and trout, that was when he was doing his work.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then post-pandemic, you had Choe and you had Judge who just catapulted the sport back into this spotlight and trout's kind of like, yeah, I've been here boys, you know.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so that brings us to our next point is RM said, Mike trout is back.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: And again, back from what?
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, where did he go?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's been playing.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: But we know he's wrestle with some injury stuff.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Trout's batting to 50 right now.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: His walk rate is really, really good.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: His OPS, I think, is like 9.54.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's walking a ton right now.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: And while remember him on the interview, and he was on the pod, he's talked about like taking the first two pitches as a discipline.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: Just to get the two strikes, because he trusted his skill set to be able to hit the baseball.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: power is definitely still, yeah, he made a adjustment with his, his back foot.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's loading.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't see that.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: But he has, trouts 34, you know, current, I know you boys are, your boys are tight here, and you probably don't talk about these kinds of things.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: But like, how are you feeling about trouts year this year?
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what's the vibe?
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: Good, you know, good.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: He feels really good.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we do talk about it a little bit.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: He feels good.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: I, before the season, I got the feeling that he was
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: put it that way he made changes and he's he's feeling really good and I always tell him I'm like people say you're back but you never left you know like yeah from a card market standpoint yeah you're back you know what I mean but I think he's bottomed out right now and I saw Brent Wire say the same thing we were talking about the other day I think his market is bottomed out right now which only leads to one idea that it's going one way it's going up
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: Um, this is a, in my opinion, this is the lowest his prices will get, you know, but yeah, he's feeling good and I expect a continued, great season from him.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of boom and things, um, and baseball card things, I should say, hand house sports made a big mic trout purchase yesterday, actually.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we did.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: We bought the target red has a big one.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like that.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's like pop.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a less than a hundred or something like that.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: 150.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see those come up there.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Never, never, never.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: We found it's a PSA seven.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: So a little bit low on the grade.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: We got great value on it for a low pop card.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: And again, color match.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: The tops target red.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: Mike trout.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: A total amount.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, dude, you're talking about a pop 150.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: Mike trout rookie, short print color match at three grand or whatever we paid for it.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah, this was also
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to look really nice, but it's at the star Jordan with the reds going to pop.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, those are the cards that got starting to care less and less about grades on older older cards like that that are like, you know, just like I just modern Bowman people care about grades, right?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: But like I don't care about the grades of like any sort of like older older veteran that it's an iconic card of I just don't care.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, earned in the card, earned in the card.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: But even way in on this one, my trout thing, we kept getting the green room here for a second.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I just feel like trout, man.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's, he's no different than any other person.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you get on, he got on our podcast and what a great guy is, but I mean, he's gone through a lot mentally when you go through injuries the way he has.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_04]: You've got all these expectations.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_04]: He's the guy, he's the guy, he's the guy.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_04]: and it's no different for him who's a major leader than a kid that's out there.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_04]: I see in my own 12-year-old son that when you start feeling that pressure of like stuff, it could be injuries, your own expectations, and it's not going that way.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_04]: And now for current to say like he feels good and he's confident, that's going to take you a long way.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_04]: Well, confidence, I see what my own kids like when you believe you step in that box, you're about to do something and you're feeling good.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I think current's right.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if he,
- 44:08[SPEAKER_04]: And he will.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_04]: He stays healthy.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_04]: I think you see a 22 type season here for him where he hit 40 homeruns.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, I don't know the RBI totals.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_04]: He's at 21.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe hits 80 to 100 RBI's.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_04]: But he's got five steals too.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_04]: So imagine him hitting 40 bombs.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_04]: Andy RBI's and 20 steals.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_04]: And he bats 26270.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_04]: That's a hell of a season.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_04]: And he does that three, four, five more times.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_04]: You tattled that up to where those
- 44:36[SPEAKER_04]: 600 plus home runs.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_04]: That's a hell of a damn career.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Just a reference point.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: We've been talking about bum and gold firsts, right?
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Mike trouts.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: There was a PSA eight.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: It sold for 20 grand.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Just FYI.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, 20 grand.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: Considering that Showhaze does half a million.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a value of your voice.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'd say so.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: All right, brother, what's next on your list?
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: Topically.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just, um, just kind of my second topic here was sometimes the third or fourth bite of the apple is the best time to buy.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_04]: Am I example there would be, I would talked about different waves of buying.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_04]: You look at a guy like Jordan Walker if you would have gotten in early.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_04]: And you would have bought them all, you could have made some money.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_04]: That was your first wave.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_04]: But then if you held it into the second wave, where the hysteria was, you would have lost.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_04]: And then you could have bought here the third wave, which was where his price is plummeted.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_04]: And then now here's the fourth wave of where he's performing.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_04]: And if you had bought in that third wave or that first wave, and you sold at the right time, you made a lot of money.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: And now here we are at the fourth wave of that player.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_04]: and you look at Ben Rice.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_04]: You look at guys like Shalinga Lears.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_04]: You look at guys like Mickey Moniac, Emerson Hancock.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_04]: You can go through all these guys and here's this, here's this comeback of these guys.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if people haven't looked at the stats of Shalinga Lears, but the dude is absolutely
- 45:57[SPEAKER_04]: machine, look at Mickey Moniac, what he's doing.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_04]: He's smashing.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_04]: You look at Emerson Hancock.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, you could have bought Emerson Hancock cards for $15, $20.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'm talking like color of this guy, preseason.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_04]: So to me, sometimes again, being able to look at that value basket and having when you can see things that are there, the talent there, but maybe opportunity hasn't met when they do.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_04]: Special things can happen.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_04]: So that was one of my second
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes the third and fourth bite of the apple are the best.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: Good analogy.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: Good visual image there, Baba.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: We've got some of our listeners are going to take hold of that.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: Gurn, any thoughts there?
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I was just going to say that Kudos to anybody who held any Jordan Walker, even if you didn't sell because it was nothing to sell.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: Kudos to you for having it still you know you know there's some folks out there who've been you know hanging on some Jordan walker It's funny Jordan walkers one of our first big bars and cells in the hobby first got into boom and I came here What it was was like a sparkle or a speckle or something like that, but we bought and sold a Jordan walker and made like $500.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: This way back in the day when he was first debut and a little Matt and I Oh my gosh, we just made $500 on his Jordan walker card
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: So a Jordan Walker gold PSA 10 just sold for 4,600 just FYI if we're peeping on that So funny.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's so funny dude.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's 600 gas batten 308 10 bombs 162 OPS Jordan walk out
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: We want to kind of be on time here too, and we got some more points, Bubba.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead and let's dive into your next one, and then we're going to kind of close the episode here over a couple of names.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: Is there any more major league stuff, Bubba that you've got, because I want to close the episode with a couple of names and a couple of highlights on the minor league side of things.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do that more rapid fire, but any more major league, you know, kind of what's happening in baseball.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think one other one is, and we've talked about this before, but I think it's 100% concrete right now.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_04]: The future is now.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about whether to hold McGonagled Griffin, South Stewart, but look at Murrah coming now.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_04]: You look at James Wood.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_04]: You look at Caminera.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_04]: You look at Delater.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_04]: Like, and it's going to continue.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the guys that are coming up.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it is deep.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_04]: What's coming in behind these guys?
- 48:08[SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about it before.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_04]: There are a lot of places to dip your toe in right now.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_04]: James Wood, we've talked and talking about him for years on this podcast, the dude can hit.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't care if anybody else says he's a freaking beast.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_04]: And so there's just a lot, I mean, look at Camino.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_04]: He is a beast.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this is the future is now and you can dip your toes in a lot of areas I think and make money on these guys still.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: The future is now.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, boy.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: kind of wrap around the now wrapping up the episode here arm had given us a couple of minor leaders that are really really impressive early on and then again you guys can add anything else to the mix but the surprising you know it's funny when you said trout like back from what I had that lyric from a little coup jay don't call it a comeback I've been here for years yeah
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: So don't call it a comeback.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: Ethan Salus.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Ethan Salus was the hype.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_01]: All the rage for all the kiddos in the Bowman chrome release from 2023.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_02]: the death the definition of prospect fatigue right there that he's having a good good season and done happy for him.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean he never batted over 200 before this season that I feel like it he also had unfair expectations.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think that we're that we're put on him as a as a 17-year-old.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_02]: About like mid-19 years old just in case anyone was wondering
- 49:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's 19.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: He batten 307 this year with five bombs in a non-75 OPS hit us for much more.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_04]: Well, and guys, what people don't think about with solace is they forget like you said he's 19, but he's in double A.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_04]: He's not down there in single A, low A or he's doing this in Dominican summer league.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_04]: He's doing this in double A. Yep.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it's legit.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: 1,000 percent.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: The next one on arms list here is less of a come back thing and just a man the kids rake in and that is Franklin Arias with the Red Sox.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he talked
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I regret selling that one, too.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: I made my money though.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm moving.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: You and you and you and Red Sox, Red Sox, Red Sox, I won't be in five red Sox process.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: What is the deal?
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: What is the deal?
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: But are you having a comment on Franklin R?
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: You mad that we talked about that guy because you're secretly buying everyone.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_01]: You can.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_04]: No, I've actually been selling him into this hype a little bit.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_04]: I've been holding some, it's time to sound a sell and move some of him.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_04]: I do think, you know, obviously, it could be a great prospect, but sometimes, you know, you're looking for opportunities to make money on guys and sell them.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_04]: Now's a good time if you can double or triple up on areas.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_04]: Might not be a bad time to sell and then you want to get into that bite of the apple.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_04]: They'll probably be a third bite.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_04]: by the way, just while we're on that topic, how about Roman Anthony?
- 50:50[SPEAKER_04]: $2 million red, right?
- 50:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I just got brutalized online for saying that Roman Anthony was being overhyped.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_04]: Where are those guys at now?
- 50:59[SPEAKER_04]: Where are you all at?
- 51:01[SPEAKER_04]: What are you all at?
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: Bubba throwing shade.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: Bubba throwing?
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: Game, boys and girl.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: So this before we go into this last one that RM give, Big Matt would like to talk about a really, really good story.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: Big Matthew.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: Big Matthew.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: And their baseball card arena.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: How about Xavier Isaac?
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's a story story story story story story story story.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: My main had a brain tumor, you know, he's got a brain tumor.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's striking out.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's struggling everybody's writing him off.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: He had a brain tumor.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_01]: He had brain surgery.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's now back on the field.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's like seven homerons in like the last eight games.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: And you're all like 115 EV bombs, you know?
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: And again, he's in double a.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: You know, with the the biscuits, I think, is where he's playing, and they said the other day, he's the only player since junior cam and arrow to hit home runs and back to back to back games in that organization for the race.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's going to materialize into a strong, you know, major league guy, but I love seeing the guy do well.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: And he was a guy that had largely been forgotten about prices that fall into the floor, you know, you're coming back on the second
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for sure.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_02]: You don't love doing that side note.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_02]: I love looking back at old trades, you know, and seeing where these guys end up, you know, and like who you ended up trading for like I was looking back when Caminero was trading as an 18 year old from Cleveland for a guy that's now in the Met's Bolton to buy us Myers.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's wild.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely wild.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: So Bubba any other mindily prospects before we go into the final one here.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I want to hit on uh, I'll just kind of steal your thunder here.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_04]: What he was going to talk about as far as the brewers being when he feels like or by far in a way the best A farm system and baseball hands down.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to disagree and I do think it's no not the brace.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_04]: I do think that was where I'll agree is I think that he thinks money
- 53:01[SPEAKER_04]: There's number one prospect in baseball.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to say Luis Paine is going to give him a run for his money.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_04]: Luis Paine is a dude.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to give him a serious run for his money.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Garrett.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: Who put you?
- 53:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's Paine.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: Edic.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_02]: Mando can.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_02]: Look, Luis Payne, by the way, he went unconscious like a couple weeks ago in the dugout.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_02]: And he hasn't played since, I think he's still getting tests.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I hope I'm sure it'll be okay, but I hope he is.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: Is there like a heat stroke or something like exhaustion or whatever?
- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he just hasn't made it back yet, which is odd.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_02]: I guess he's going to come back.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be telepathic.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_04]: So he's going to know what the picture is going to happen.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to come back.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to know it's a heater.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to know it's a slider.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_04]: Like rookie the year, but with his head.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be telepathic.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_04]: But what I was going to say, my boy arm, who's tuning in here, he's going to tune into the S episode.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_04]: Not so fast, arm.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going Dodgers, baby.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_04]: You can slide up for sure.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_04]: Way to follow up.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_04]: Mike Sorota is a beast.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_04]: Y'all keep sleeping on Sorota.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to buy them all.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to buy every single card that exists.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_04]: There will not be a purple, a shimmer, a purple flashy, whatever.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'm buying it all.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think it was this past off season.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: It might have been the last off season.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: I was up.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_02]: I had a deal lined up to buy Mike Sorota's superfactor and I was going to buy it for $3,500.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: And the last minute that guy was like, I'm so sorry, but his family wants to buy this card.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I feel obligated to sell it to them.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, yeah, sure.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you know who his family was?
- 54:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you wish.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: You wish.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: Let me so funny.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I'm not.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's so rough.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: But the way we wish that that never happened, the timing of that.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: That would have been so funny if he really goes.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, they call me Papa Sorota.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: No, I saw I saw this screenshot.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: So it was believable.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_02]: I saw this screenshot.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's so good.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_04]: But if finished a list there, Joe Sway, Sarota, Zai here hope can absolutely rake.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_04]: The dude is a middle line back or talked about it.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_04]: He can rake.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_04]: He continues to hit.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: Don't forget about it at Wardle, Contaro.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sorry, he's having a bad year.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_02]: But far it's by by he's going to be the Dodgers number one process.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be a side.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_04]: Charles Davilland, dude, you've been talking about him.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_04]: Davilland's raking for them.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_04]: But then for nobody talks about this guy.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_04]: I'll look the other day.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_04]: I think I bought like an Oring Sapphire for like three years.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of Morales.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: We him, James Tibbs.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_02]: James Tibbs, a meal Morales, Chase Harley.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_02]: Do they love it here?
- 55:39[SPEAKER_04]: They're loaded, dude.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_04]: They're loaded.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_04]: So give me the Dodgers, and I hate the Dodgers.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_04]: But give me the Dodgers at the top prospect board.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, evil empire continues to do big things.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_01]: Every time the Dodgers, they'd say the word Dodgers, I feel like I should hear the music from Star Wars.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_01]: Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I just think of hot dogs.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_02]: Dodger dogs.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_04]: Did y'all I did we got to share this one so so he did say arm did say and I thought this was interesting He said chase burns could win a sigh young and then not so distant future That's that's a pretty bold prediction right there.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's a bold prediction arm does no baseball and and so did the CEO's today boys I appreciate y'all give me the run down here as the guy it was actually nice as I was listening to you guys I was pulling it up.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: Is I your hope spent in 288 this season?
- 56:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's some encouragement.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually this end of a way for you know getting to get into look at where these guys are what they're batting all this kind of stuff.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: It takes this kind of research It takes this kind of knowledge in the game to be strong and so I know our listeners appreciate it.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_01]: I certainly do you boys keep me up the snuff here up the speed But any closing thoughts as we round out today's episode
- 56:50[SPEAKER_02]: Major League no checks and Cheerio came back last night how to solid game.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_02]: So where has he been?
- 56:54[SPEAKER_01]: What happened to him?
- 56:55[SPEAKER_01]: He he broke his hand or something.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and Jackson holidays.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_01]: Is he out all season or see same kind of timeline?
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think he should be back soon.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he should be.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_04]: Who will Rodriguez?
- 57:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to say right now he's criminally underpriced for what he is.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_04]: People overreacted to his low start.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_04]: He was batten right there with Cal Raleigh and the high 100's.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_04]: What is who will Rodriguez do every year?
- 57:17[SPEAKER_04]: He starts.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_04]: crazy slow and gets it going.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_04]: He's already up to almost 270.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_04]: He's brought that average from 190 up to 268 already.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_04]: He's starting to really hit.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_04]: He's getting hot again on a team that's probably going to be competitive.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_04]: But who you're out of these guys is still only 25 years old.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_04]: He's 25 years old.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_04]: He's has 116 are home runs and 119 stolen bases.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_04]: There's not a lot of guys with that power, speed, flash combo that Julio can consistently is going to put out 30 plus home run seasons, probably for another 10 to 15 years.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's a guy that's going to be looking at 500 career home runs with 500 steels and that doesn't come often.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_02]: My last note to listeners is complex ball started, so a lot of those DSL guys that were Chase's in Bowman Chrome, keep your eye out on them now because they could be by as the Chris Rodd regas is Diego torn as a Loki Rodd regas, Richard and Maddic from the Yankees.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_02]: Josh work on Zollis, although he started hurts, I wouldn't be surprised if he used an extended sprint training, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes right to like low A.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, keep your, keep your eyes on those guys.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_02]: Those guys were the chases that had, you know, high price points at at least and now we're much much lower, but keep your eyes on there play too as well.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_02]: Now the complex leaves started and
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: And in all of this boys leading up to next week, we've got Aramon and we are discussing the upcoming Bowman release, Bowman 2026 product drops next Wednesday.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to have our episode dropping on Wednesday as well.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a deep dive into some of the prospects and some of the cars they're basically going to be chasing, kind of throw our tidbit in the mix there.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: So gentlemen, as always, appreciate you.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys for tuning in.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: Support card CEOs signing off.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all be good and we'll see you next week.
