Latest / The Mark Driscoll Show / Candace Lies AGAIN, Trump Bombs Iran, & Nick Fuentes is a Democrat?| The Mark Driscoll Show | Ep 20
Transcript
- 0:01Well, howdy and welcome to Mark Driscoll's show.
- 0:03Today is going to be a fun day. I jump into asking Pastor Mark
- 0:08about Candace Owens protest. Yeah.
- 0:10Is Trump doing the right thing in Iran?
- 0:12And Nick Fuentes officially comes out of the closet as a
- 0:15Democrat and Pastor Mark reacts. Buckle up, get ready.
- 0:19It's going to be an epic show. Well howdy Pastor Mark, it has
- 0:42been quite the week. You broke the Internet I sent
- 0:47you. You were like top of the news on
- 0:50XII. Had no idea honestly.
- 0:52I was in the woods snuggling by the fire with my wife, and the
- 0:57big thing for me was I put a salt lick out.
- 0:59So we had all the baby deer. And then I picked up my phone
- 1:02and somebody said, hey, there's something, otherwise I wouldn't
- 1:05have known. So for everybody who's posting
- 1:08and thinking we've got him, actually now it's just me and
- 1:11the deer and my wife in a fire. Yeah, our unpaid intern is on
- 1:14the social media dumpster, especially on Friday.
- 1:17Come on. So you had some fun things
- 1:20happen. We'll get into that in a little
- 1:21bit as far as the Christian space and feminism and having a
- 1:26woman teach women, says wild controversy.
- 1:30But the first controversy we want to get into is Candace
- 1:33Owens. She is obsessed with you.
- 1:36I don't know why she keeps talking about you on social
- 1:39media, but she's not nearly obsessed with you as she is
- 1:43Charlie. And that continues to be clear.
- 1:46Yeah, and the whole thing is just it's gone from strange to
- 1:50evil. Yeah, because this week she
- 1:52just. She told the Internet that she
- 1:55got an e-mail from an anonymous source.
- 1:57I always just, you know, an anonymous source isn't an
- 2:00anonymous source. I went to the Edward R Murrow
- 2:02School of Communication. I studied journalism.
- 2:04An anonymous source is not a source.
- 2:07It could be a drunk monkey, literally.
- 2:09Literally. Could that could be the source?
- 2:11Yeah, it could be an e-mail from somebody you've never met.
- 2:15It could be, I don't know, some insane person that DMD on X.
- 2:20That's not a source. That's not a source.
- 2:22It's wild. And she said that to this
- 2:26source. The e-mail says that you told
- 2:29entire church that three days before Charlie died, he called
- 2:33you and told you they're trying to kill him, and you did not say
- 2:37that. I didn't say that publicly.
- 2:39I didn't say that privately because it never happened and I
- 2:42tell the truth for a living. It's pretty wild that she called
- 2:45you the pastor at Trinity Church.
- 2:46She didn't reference your name or tag you because it seems like
- 2:50tagging somebody with such a big audience would actually be
- 2:52helpful to her narrative. See, this is where you're
- 2:56strategically failing because you're applying logic.
- 3:00This is your fatal flaw when dealing with this person in
- 3:04these circumstances. Just take reason and logic and
- 3:07exit. Yeah, it was.
- 3:09It was interesting. I got a text from one of the
- 3:12supporters of real faith, actually, and they're like, no,
- 3:14no, you don't understand. Candace is very honest and
- 3:17accurate, and she always provides receipts, blah, blah.
- 3:20I was like, she's talking about us.
- 3:22Yeah, I know. I am a subject matter expert on
- 3:26me. We're not accusing her lying
- 3:27anywhere else, although there's many accusations of that.
- 3:29Everybody else can stand up and say if they she.
- 3:32Said pastor at Trinity Church in Scottsdale said Well, we never
- 3:37got yeah, we know that to not be the case.
- 3:39Yeah, never happened. I mean, that's what's just so
- 3:41wild is just so people know things that are on blogs, social
- 3:45media, YouTube, they are not held to the same libel and
- 3:48slander laws and they're not held to the same level as
- 3:52journalism. And So what happens now in the
- 3:54days of the wild, Wild West, if you did any of this under an
- 3:58actual news agency, you would go out of business, you would be
- 4:03sued and you would be bankrupted.
- 4:05But if you put it on a blog, social media or YouTube, it
- 4:08doesn't count as news. And So what happens then in, so
- 4:12let's say it's, I don't know, CNN or Christian today or some
- 4:17other, you know, left-leaning Democratic operative platform,
- 4:21They will put information on a blog or a YouTube page or a
- 4:24social media under their news organization so that people
- 4:28think, oh, this is part of the news.
- 4:30It's actually legally not. And so they can say and do
- 4:33whatever they want while giving the deceptive impression that
- 4:36it's part of a news agency. That's why, for example, if you
- 4:39go to CNN and it's on the blog, assume it's a lie, because if it
- 4:42wasn't, they would have put it in the news.
- 4:44Oh, interesting. You see what I'm saying?
- 4:46Yeah. If we say this here, we get
- 4:48sued. If we say it here, we don't
- 4:49because it's not true. If it is on the blog, it is
- 4:52probably not true because they actually have a news platform to
- 4:56tell the truth from. And so when people pretend to be
- 4:59journalists, they're just bloggers.
- 5:02That's all they are. They are just content creators
- 5:05that don't have any of the legal requirements to actually be a
- 5:09journalist. And I know this because this is
- 5:12my degree is journalism communication.
- 5:15That's what I studied and and honestly, what used to be the
- 5:20news. You get a newspaper back in the
- 5:22day and there was news and editorial.
- 5:25And so these are opinions and these are facts.
- 5:27And today it's all opinion. There is no such thing as news.
- 5:31It's all opinion. Yep, Yep.
- 5:34And it's wild that this has an audience, an audience that's
- 5:39female dominated. Why is it that suburban wine
- 5:43moms are so obsessed with true crime?
- 5:46But true crime, Candace. I'll quote a verse that's very
- 5:50offensive, but it may be a good Bible study for the wine moms.
- 5:53Women are easily deceived. Rough.
- 5:59Yeah, that's what Paul says. So what should husbands be
- 6:01doing? Helping them not be easily
- 6:04deceived. And, and it means that if your
- 6:06wife is living, you know, tracking too much on social
- 6:10media, getting obsessed with people, if she's going down the
- 6:12rabbit hole of conspiracy theories, you need to just say,
- 6:16babe, hey, we, you know, we got a life.
- 6:18We got kids, we got a church, we got Jesus.
- 6:20Like, let's live in reality with people that we know doing things
- 6:24that actually matter. Yeah.
- 6:26And if you live too much online, I mean, just statistically, you
- 6:29end up with mental health. It's just inevitable.
- 6:32And so, you know, for people that are enjoying social media
- 6:35or news, that's fine. But when it becomes obsessive
- 6:38and when it gets to the point that you can't fast from it,
- 6:41like if you can't shut off your social media for a week and just
- 6:46let your soul kind of get a cleanse, then you probably have
- 6:50an addiction. So just like we fast from
- 6:53certain things, sometimes it's good to just fast from social
- 6:56media and it's good to fast from the news.
- 6:58And, and I'll just say this as well, like if you are a person
- 7:04who is prone toward fear, then conspiracy theories and negative
- 7:08news is going to keep you in a constant fight or flight cycle
- 7:13and that's not good for you. The last thing I'd say when it
- 7:15comes to just social media, I've always told this to my kids.
- 7:18You've heard me say it, don't be loyal to anyone.
- 7:21Be loyal to what is true. Yep.
- 7:24And people are like, I'm loyal to them.
- 7:25It's like, well, if they're not loyal to the truth and you're
- 7:27loyal to them, you're actually disloyal to God.
- 7:30Yeah. And so if someone is doing what
- 7:33is right, doing what is true, doing what is good, be loyal to
- 7:36them. As soon as they're not doing
- 7:38those things, you cannot be loyal to them and simultaneously
- 7:42be loyal to God. And so like, I mean, I've, I've
- 7:44been told our kids growing up, like do not be loyal to your
- 7:48father. Be loyal to what is true and
- 7:51right and good. And if I am wrong, correct me
- 7:55if, if there's a line and I'm on the wrong side, don't stand
- 7:58there with me, yank me over the line back to where we're
- 8:02supposed to be. And so this is where people get
- 8:05into communities or I'm going to defend this person to the death.
- 8:08It's like, well, then at some point to defend them, you'll
- 8:10need to deny him. And so this is for those who
- 8:13claim to be believers. This is profound because Jesus
- 8:16says in John 844, you know, that Satan is the father of lies.
- 8:20And so if someone starts to pivot from telling some truth to
- 8:23telling some lies to mainly lying, if you are loyal to them,
- 8:27you have abandoned and betrayed Jesus Christ.
- 8:31So would you say what Candace? That people should have nothing
- 8:37to do with What Candace? Slander.
- 8:39It is a violation of the 9th commandment.
- 8:41Do not bear false witness. Taking people that you don't
- 8:45Fact Check and they are not accurate and just making them
- 8:49into anonymous sources to then say things that are untrue.
- 8:53Especially about a dead man and his widow who's trying to raise
- 8:59the orphans and increasing the lack of security for that family
- 9:05that is now dealing with overwhelming anxiety and a lack
- 9:08of privacy. It's like.
- 9:10Do you think she's profiting off of widow and orphans?
- 9:13Millions. Oh, millions, 1,000,000
- 9:17millions. And so at the end of the day,
- 9:20the cause is not noble, the cause is cash.
- 9:24That's the reality. She Candace saw her.
- 9:27She's she's always been a grifter.
- 9:28She's always her whole life that I think she.
- 9:32Yeah, anyways. We can talk about something
- 9:35else, but I mean, yeah, at the end of the day, like, shame on
- 9:38her husband. Yeah.
- 9:39Like, where? Where are you, Sir?
- 9:41I mean. Candace Owens wrote the book and
- 9:44she called it Make Him a Sandwich, and it doesn't seem
- 9:48like she's living into that, and it'd probably be a lot more
- 9:50helpful if she did. If this was my wife doing this
- 9:53in our house and bringing this spirit into our environment, I'd
- 9:56be like, honey, the answer is no.
- 10:00And I'm, I'm actually going to go get you a psyche Val because
- 10:03somehow you in reality have had a divorce. 100 percent, 100%.
- 10:08So I think pivoting the conversation to what was
- 10:11actually the thing that the last thing Charlie shared with you
- 10:15and this is from the night she's referencing and this is what you
- 10:18said. The last time that I had
- 10:21communication with Charlie was yesterday.
- 10:26We are in have been in regular communication.
- 10:29I don't want to overstate our relationship but I love him very
- 10:33dearly and he means the world to me and I miss him very greatly.
- 10:37I'm I'm not his father, I'm not his spiritual father, but I'm
- 10:41old enough to be and I love him like that.
- 10:46One of our most recent communications, he said thank
- 10:49you. I have a ton of questions.
- 10:51I didn't ask for it, but I have become a high profile defender
- 10:54of the faith. I need to be the best I can.
- 10:57This was a recent text thread with E and I.
- 11:01I said I'd be honored to serve for free invisibly as needed.
- 11:05You have an anointing to steward and its massive.
- 11:08Proud of you and pray for you and your family daily.
- 11:13So Charlie was the last thing he said to you was about.
- 11:17Yeah, so I mean for for me, Charlie reached out to me some
- 11:22years prior. He'd been listening for a while
- 11:23and he liked the doctrine book and he wanted to get together.
- 11:25So we're friendship again was we're not to an Italian spot
- 11:30that he likes. And we got a couple hours
- 11:32together and talk in theology and just get to know him.
- 11:35Brilliant, kind, fun, joyful, wonderful guy.
- 11:40I love Charlie. I mean, nobody's perfect.
- 11:43Charlie was incredible. He he's like not just the reason
- 11:46that he had such an influence is he was a joyful, enjoyable,
- 11:50brilliant, but he was also humble, asked a lot of questions
- 11:53and was teachable. He's a really remarkable young
- 11:56man. And and so from that time, I was
- 12:00like, well, if I can ever be of any help, you know, I'm the
- 12:02weird nerd Bible guy. Run it by me.
- 12:05So I, I tried to be that guy to, you know, send him stuff, answer
- 12:08questions, help him dial in things.
- 12:10I'm just trying to be helpful. And so so yeah, that that event
- 12:15is the day that Charlie got shot.
- 12:18And I I thought we're going to have a small prayer meeting at
- 12:21the church. And so the pastors were going to
- 12:22cover it. And then you called me and
- 12:24you're like, this is not a small thing with twice as many people
- 12:27as seats. So I jumped in the car, threw a
- 12:30shirt on, and I was there in 10 minutes.
- 12:33And I just walked on the stage and extemporaneously spoke for
- 12:37what, however long it was. No notes, no clue, just verbal
- 12:41processing. And so just trying to serve in
- 12:44the moment and was honored to do so.
- 12:47But yeah, my final conversations with Charlie, I'd been out of
- 12:50town and he was getting ready for the campus tours.
- 12:54And there were certain questions that he was anticipating.
- 12:57And it was like predestination and slavery.
- 13:00And I can't remember what the third one was, but he he was
- 13:04like, I want to talk about those because I need to dial in my
- 13:06answer and I need to be able to defend the faith and I need to
- 13:08be able to defend the Bible. And so, you know, we were
- 13:12supposed to be getting together now that I was back in town.
- 13:15And then he he got killed, got murdered, got assassinated.
- 13:17And so with Charlie, I know that.
- 13:20I know that. I know for a fact that the top
- 13:23of the funnel may have been politics or cultural issues.
- 13:26Ultimately, his goal was to talk to people about Jesus.
- 13:29That was ultimately where he wanted to take all the
- 13:33conversations. And you could see that when we
- 13:36were sitting, you know, right there at his memorial, everybody
- 13:39got up and they're all like, well, can't talk about Charlie
- 13:42without talking about Jesus because Charlie just always
- 13:44talked about Jesus. And so, you know, if Charlie's
- 13:48goal was to take everything and make it about the gospel of
- 13:52Jesus Christ, the Bible, Christian worldview, then to try
- 13:57and hijack his legacy by shifting the spotlight to
- 14:02someone or something other than Jesus Christ is actually a
- 14:05betrayal of his deepest commitment.
- 14:08And that's everybody's, well, Charlie would say this about
- 14:11Iran or Charlie would say this about all these different
- 14:14things. I guarantee if Charlie was here,
- 14:17he'd be like, hey, guys, stop worrying about what happened to
- 14:20me. Let's just tell people about
- 14:21Jesus. Like everything he did was about
- 14:25Jesus by his memorial was just a big worship surface.
- 14:29Like he he would be ashamed of what Candace Owens is doing to
- 14:34his legacy and to his wife and to his kids.
- 14:37If you want to honor Charlie, then point people to Jesus.
- 14:41He pointed people to Jesus, and right now he's with Jesus and he
- 14:44would tell you today, since he's with Jesus, the most important
- 14:47thing is to help as many people get to be with Jesus as
- 14:49possible. That's the priority.
- 14:52I'm not listening to the woman. That's just, I'm just asking
- 14:54questions. That's how deconstructionism
- 14:56begins and it all started in Genesis 3.
- 14:59It is a demonic plot to just ask questions and to then
- 15:02deconstruct what God has created it.
- 15:05Deconstructionism is on the left, it's on the right and it
- 15:10and it is demonic and it is asking the wrong questions and
- 15:14it all started with Satan in the garden.
- 15:15Did God really say? 100% and a passive husband not
- 15:19jumping in and it's very dangerous so.
- 15:23First person to ask a question was Satan.
- 15:28Be very careful if all you're doing is just asking questions.
- 15:31Just asking questions. That's that's a good word.

- 16:34Something that is major in our, our news, Iran and everything
- 16:39going on over there with President Trump and taking some
- 16:43action and we wanted to roll that clip.
- 16:45I just got off the phone with President Trump.
- 16:47It was a roughly 9 minute phone interview talking about the war
- 16:50in Iran. Just want to give you the
- 16:52quotes. He said quote, we're knocking
- 16:54the crap out of them. I think it's going very well.
- 16:56It's very powerful. We've got the greatest military
- 16:58in the world and we're using it. I asked the president how long
- 17:00he thought this war my last. He said I don't want to see it
- 17:03go on too long. I always thought it would be 4
- 17:05weeks. And we're a little ahead of
- 17:07Skype. We haven't even started hitting
- 17:08them hard. The big wave hasn't even
- 17:10happened. The Big 1 is coming soon.
- 17:12I asked. OK, well, who's going to lead
- 17:14Iran now? The president said.
- 17:15We don't know who the leadership is.
- 17:17We don't know who they'll pick. Maybe they'll get lucky and get
- 17:19someone who knows what they're doing.
- 17:20President Trump told the New York Post Monday that he's not
- 17:23ruling out sending US ground troops into Iran if they were
- 17:26necessary, adding the Operation Epic Fury was way ahead of
- 17:30schedule after taking out dozens of Tehran's top officials.
- 17:34I don't have the yips with respect to boots on the ground.
- 17:36Like every president, president says there will be no boots on
- 17:39the ground. I don't say it, Trump said after
- 17:42launching strike Saturday to decapitate Iran's military and
- 17:45political leadership. I say probably don't need them,
- 17:48or if they were necessary. Decapitate a nation.
- 17:56And it's leadership. We're knocking the crap out.
- 17:58Of the crap out of them. I mean, you know what, everybody
- 18:00it was. So the people who do like Trump,
- 18:02they're like, I have an uncle who talks like that, at least at
- 18:06least he sounds, you know, like a guy you could have a beer with
- 18:08at the VFW. So, yeah, I mean, as far as the
- 18:13Warner, I mean, we just, we just attacked Iran just a few months
- 18:16ago. We took out their entire top
- 18:17level of military leadership, and now we've taken out the top
- 18:21level of political and military leadership again.
- 18:25I don't know. I just tell you this, if you're
- 18:27thinking about raising your hand to lead something in Iran, you
- 18:30may want to wait a while. It's like this is not a real
- 18:33good time to fill out the application on LinkedIn.
- 18:36Yeah, what? What is the message he's
- 18:39sending? I mean, taking Ayatollah out, He
- 18:43he's been openly mocking Trump for years.
- 18:46So for Christians, it's it's kind of interesting.
- 18:48So you're fancy with your laptop.
- 18:50So I brought mine. But you know, when you're
- 18:52talking about what is currently Iran in the Bible, in in the
- 18:57Bible it's called Elam and Persia or Medo Persia.
- 19:00And so actually this is a civilization that goes all the
- 19:03way back to the Old Testament. Predominant in the days of
- 19:06Daniel is in prophecies in Ezekiel and Jeremiah.
- 19:11Ezekiel 3039 talks about kind of the last days war of Gog and
- 19:16Magog. And one of the nations
- 19:17geographically is Iran. Jeremiah 49 seems to indicate
- 19:21that they'll be a future revival in Iran.
- 19:25And so, you know, what we're seeing in Iran is really
- 19:28interesting because you've got, you know, a dictatorial Mullah
- 19:31who's been ruling for 36 years and he, he wasn't even
- 19:34high-ranking, he was a mid level.
- 19:36So the fact that he even got the job is there's some intrigue
- 19:39there. But what's interesting is we're
- 19:40bombing Islam and Iran and then we're voting for it in Seattle,
- 19:46excuse me, in New York and in Minneapolis and in Dearborn.
- 19:50And so the same time that it's failed over there and 80% of
- 19:54Iranians, they want regime change, they want open
- 19:58elections. They hate living under Sharia
- 20:00law, the mullahs and the dictatorship.
- 20:03And while we're bombing it there, we're bringing it here,
- 20:06which is shocking. It's shocking in there during
- 20:10like right now in Dearborn, MI, or in Minneapolis or New York,
- 20:13they're like, I wonder it'd be like to vote for a Muslim if
- 20:16we're bombing them. It may not be the best forward
- 20:20path. You know, the mayor of New York
- 20:22was very against this. Sure, him and Tucker, they both
- 20:26thought it was evil. And and so, you know, then there
- 20:29is the debate part of it too, is what Christians may understand
- 20:34is possibly the fastest growing Christian base in the Middle
- 20:41East is in Iran. The younger generation that has
- 20:45technology, they want liberty, they want freedom.
- 20:49And you're seeing a strong and growing underground church in
- 20:52Iran. It's not that way like in
- 20:54Turkey, but in Iran you're seeing a strong generation rise
- 20:59up who love Jesus. You're seeing a lot of people
- 21:02get saved through signs and wonders.
- 21:04They're having dreams and standing before Jesus.
- 21:07And So what you're seeing as well in Iran, you're seeing
- 21:10mosques are closing at a record level and people want a new
- 21:14regime, they want elections and they want churches.
- 21:18And mosques are growing at a record rate in places like
- 21:21Texas. Yes.
- 21:22It's. Wild.
- 21:23Well, this is what happens when when you get familiar with
- 21:27Sharia law and Islam, you hate it.
- 21:30And Americans in the name of diversity, equity, inclusion,
- 21:33bring in, you know, a demonic death cult in the name of, hey,
- 21:38we need to have everything. Why?
- 21:40And so, you know, the the debate among the conservatives now
- 21:43obviously is like, well, should we be activated in foreign wars?
- 21:48And Trump ran as an America first.
- 21:51And the question then is should we be America first or should we
- 21:53be America only? We're talking about it offline
- 21:57with the young guys here and makes sense to me.
- 21:59I mean, for a lot of young men, they're like, look, I I want to
- 22:03get married to a girl, I want to have kids.
- 22:04I'm going to buy a house. This is the most conservative
- 22:06generation of young men in the last 50 years.
- 22:09And they're like, hey, can we fix the domestic problems so
- 22:12that we can have a family in the future and do the things that we
- 22:16know are right and good? Why are we spending time, energy
- 22:18and money trying to repair other countries when we still have
- 22:22brokenness in our own? And that's, you know,
- 22:26reasonable. And for those who don't, who
- 22:29think that America should be isolationistic, not just
- 22:32nationalistic, but isolationistic, they don't want
- 22:34us involved. On the flip side, you know, I
- 22:37mean, how many people have been, how many American soldiers have
- 22:40been killed by Iran? It's like 800.
- 22:42OK, so there's murdered 800 of our best.
- 22:46In addition, we know that Iran is the the head of the snake for
- 22:49state sponsored terror. They work through their proxy
- 22:52organizations, Hamas, which invaded Israel, the Houthis,
- 22:55Hezbollah. We know that Iran is the bad
- 22:58actor and the puppet master and is kind of the architect of
- 23:02global terrorism. Well, should we get rid of
- 23:05global terrorism? Probably not a bad idea.
- 23:07We also know that we have let an untold number of Iranians
- 23:11illegally into the country without any vetting and now we
- 23:15have a liability of sleeper cells across the country.
- 23:18Huge liability. Yeah.
- 23:19I mean, and we put everyone on notice by going after these
- 23:23countries that, hey, it's not going to fly here.
- 23:26Like, if you do this, you, you are not coming in to conquer
- 23:28anything. You're not taking any ground.
- 23:30We'll respond with a lot of force.
- 23:32And it puts every dictator and every world leader on notice.
- 23:36If we activate the sleeper cells, we could die.
- 23:39And you, you, a dictator does not want to lose his life.
- 23:42All these guys that are leading these countries, there's no way
- 23:47he thought he was going to get killed.
- 23:49But I mean, days or weeks before he was mocking on social media
- 23:52like you've never gotten me and you never will.
- 23:54It's like, OK, so the, the, the demonstrate.
- 23:58So the things I do appreciate, just from a leadership
- 24:00perspective, I, I like the clarity.
- 24:03Hey, come to the table and negotiate or by this day, there
- 24:06will be a consequence. I like the clarity and I like
- 24:09the consistency. If you don't come to the table
- 24:11and negotiate, there will be a consequence and the deadline
- 24:14will not just pass. So the show of strength and
- 24:18peace through strength is something that I'm very glad to
- 24:22see. They're they're a nation of
- 24:25death. I was just looking it up.
- 24:27They murder their own people. Ayatollah, when he came in, in
- 24:301988, the first thing he did was execute 30,000 political
- 24:35prisoners with children as young as 13 hanging from cranes.
- 24:39They're known for being the largest executioner of children,
- 24:43executing more kids in 15 years than any other state in the
- 24:47history of the world, killing children, their own people.
- 24:52They are evil. And can you negotiate with evil?
- 24:55Pastor no you can't. You can't.
- 24:56No so. And, and part of it too is their
- 24:58theology is if you die a martyr, you get 72 virgins who were
- 25:04roughly around the age of 33, and they will literally sing
- 25:08your praises for all eternity. It's not in the Quran, it's in
- 25:12other Islamic documents. And that they're so beautiful
- 25:15that they can't even be revealed in this world.
- 25:19And that after you have sex with them, they immediately go back
- 25:22to a perpetual state of virginity.
- 25:24So you have 72 gals and every night for all eternity, you get
- 25:28to pick which one you're going to take the virginity of.
- 25:32And so their vision of heaven is, yeah, I mean, blow yourself
- 25:37up and you hit the, you hit the lottery, you hit, you hit the,
- 25:41the harem, you know, Bravo lottery.
- 25:44And so when you're dealing with those people, I mean, they're
- 25:47not incentivized to live, they're incentivized to self
- 25:50destruct it. It yeah, it's, yeah, it is a
- 25:56religion of violence. Of perversion and violence.
- 26:00And but I, you know, for those who are America first, they're
- 26:03like, yeah, because at this point, nobody can really say
- 26:07like the the Ayatollah is going to be missed and, you know, he's
- 26:11a person that the world is better if he's not taking a dirt
- 26:14nap. Nobody's going to say that.
- 26:16But then the question is, but was that our responsibility?
- 26:20You know, should of Israel just taking care of that on their own
- 26:23and meanwhile we've got domestic problems to deal with.
- 26:28Yeah, I think and people are like, well, we we dealt with the
- 26:30nuke situation last year, why are we back there?
- 26:33And that's what Trump said was they were close to having nukes
- 26:36again. And so we had to go back in.
- 26:38Yeah, I think a lot of people are wrestling with it and it
- 26:42seems to be dividing the right in a massive way.
- 26:45And it is interesting how much critique Trump is under from the
- 26:50left and the right right now. And and how does this translate
- 26:54to the midterms? Is this was this a, a smart
- 26:56move, a foolish move? What are what are your thoughts
- 27:00on? That the midterms are crucial
- 27:01and if they don't go conservative, you know, we're
- 27:03probably going to be tied up in law fair for two years.
- 27:06And, and right now, you know, the midterms are hanging in the
- 27:10balance and the party in power usually doesn't carry the
- 27:15midterms and, and usually the enthusiasm is on the opposition
- 27:22to turn out to vote. And so in the midterms, you
- 27:25probably see very high Democratic participation.
- 27:27Sadly, unless they're activated, you'll not see that same on the
- 27:30right. So that's where we find
- 27:34ourselves. But if you are at war, you know,
- 27:37and there is threat of danger. I heard someone say it a while
- 27:42ago. The Democrat Party is the mommy
- 27:44party and the Republican Party is the daddy party.
- 27:47The majority of women are Democrats.
- 27:49The majority of men are Republicans.
- 27:51If you don't feel safe, you vote for Dad.
- 27:54Yep, Yep. And I think he's more daddy
- 27:58party than we've ever had. I mean, his comment of all the
- 28:01other presidents will say they won't go boots on the ground.
- 28:03He's like, no, the guns in my I'm, I'm concealed caring.
- 28:07I'll pull it. Yeah, don't make me pull it.
- 28:09Well, that's where, you know, for me, I hope and pray and do
- 28:14not want it like most Americans do not want to see any boots on
- 28:17the ground. The thought of taking young men
- 28:19and putting them in foreign wars like Iraq, Afghanistan.
- 28:25Thank you to everyone who served.
- 28:27But there had to be a day if you were serving, you're like, why?
- 28:29Why am I here? You know, and then after all
- 28:33that was put into places like Iraq and Afghanistan, then to
- 28:36see what they become once we exit, they go right back to, you
- 28:41know, terrorists run organization states.
- 28:44I mean, Afghanistan right now is run by the Taliban and, you
- 28:48know, and once we toppled Saddam Hussein, they pushed all of the
- 28:51Christians out and it was and the church was obliterated in
- 28:55the nation. And so, you know, so I don't
- 28:59want to see boots on the ground. I don't want to see soldiers in
- 29:02harm's way. I don't want to see any of that.
- 29:04It's one thing to send a drone. It's another thing to send a
- 29:06dude. Now I know he has to say that to
- 29:09negotiate from a strength position, basically like, you
- 29:13know, this is, you know, I'm willing to, I'm willing to go
- 29:16all the way to the end in the fight.
- 29:18You have to say that at the beginning of a fight, you've got
- 29:20to be willing to go to the end of the fight.
- 29:21But I sure hope and pray that this is just a negotiation
- 29:24tactic. I mean, yeah, it feels that way
- 29:27when it's I'm going to come in and strategically take out all
- 29:30your political leaders and your head leader twice, twice.
- 29:34And then I'm going to flex that I'm fine bringing everybody in.
- 29:37And it feels like he's negotiating hard, but I believe
- 29:41he will go boots on the ground. If he needs to know what is
- 29:44interesting is they don't have the Second Amendment because
- 29:46right now, if the Iranians were all an armed citizenry, we would
- 29:53need to send boots on the ground.
- 29:54They've already got their own boots.
- 29:56And so this is where, you know, this is where as a nation, be
- 30:00glad that that you have the ability to carry and and to
- 30:05defend yourself. Right now the Iranians wish the
- 30:08Iranian people 80% want regime change and and they are seeing
- 30:14their own citizens slaughter just for political disagreement,
- 30:18not criminal behavior, just disagreement.
- 30:20And they would really, really, really love right now to be in
- 30:24Arizona and carrying a. 100% yeah, yeah, it's yeah.
- 30:30It is wild, the lack of freedom they have.
- 30:34And we, we take it for granted here and a lot of countries
- 30:37would, would. That's why they're all flooding
- 30:40into our country. And they're not all bad people
- 30:42that are, that are immigrating here.
- 30:44But Islam is incompatible with the West.
- 30:48How important is it that we stay out of picking their next leader
- 30:52for Iran? No, I mean, if, if we really do
- 30:54believe in freedom and democracy and liberty, then people need to
- 30:59choose their own destiny and they need to have a fair and
- 31:03free election and they need to determine how they're going to
- 31:07course correct their future. And you know, that is that, I
- 31:11mean, ultimately that's what needs to happen.
- 31:14Yep. Do you think that war with Iran
- 31:17will increase domestic terrorism or keep it at Bay?
- 31:21Well, short term it could increase it, long term it could
- 31:24decrease it. Yep, If you cut the hat off the
- 31:26snake, then in the future they're going to be less likely
- 31:29to be, well, like right now. We've closed the border and we
- 31:33chop the head off the snake with the Ayatollah and Iran.
- 31:37So that at least in the long term would indicate that you're
- 31:40going to reduce potential terror threats in the homeland.
- 31:43In the short term, it could activate it because if they're
- 31:46here, they're going to act on. We saw that this week in Texas.
- 31:49We, we saw, we saw a guy show up, you know, property of our
- 31:52law and start open firing and they get a Quran in his car.
- 31:56And you know, like, can those things go from individual acts
- 31:59to coordinated groups? Terrifying, but possible.
- 32:04Yeah, yeah, that was the big, that was the big news.
- 32:07He was wearing a Property of Allah hoodie with a Quran in his
- 32:11car. And funny enough, he took tunes
- 32:14into Canis Owens every week and was a avid supporter of her on
- 32:17X. And and that that's what's
- 32:20dangerous about social media nowadays is you can get people
- 32:23so angry. And some people are just
- 32:25mentally not well, and so they can't understand the difference
- 32:30between hyperbole and a call to action.
- 32:34And so, yeah, they show up and actually do something that's
- 32:37devastating to so many to prove a point where those are.
- 32:41I mean, three people are dead. That's three people that don't
- 32:44have a dad coming home or a mom or a brother or a son.
- 32:48This is very, very sad, but that's that's what Islam is
- 32:53coming into this country to do, is to kill and destroy and take
- 32:57over. It's convert or die.
- 32:59I mean, it's a so Christianity is a religion of proposition.
- 33:02Would you like to receive Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior?
- 33:05Islam is a religion of imposition.
- 33:07It's convert or die. And and so, yeah, so it, it, it
- 33:12will justify violence for for an outcome that is favorable toward
- 33:18Islam. And so everywhere that Islam is
- 33:20gone, it doesn't assimilate or integrate, it overtakes and
- 33:24dominates and, and then eventually Sharia law comes and
- 33:28religious freedom is gone. And, and then what was a free
- 33:33society becomes Islamic regime. I mean, that's historical.
- 33:38That's what that's what that's what happened in Turkey, that's
- 33:40what happened in Egypt. That's just what happens.
- 33:44Yeah, 100%. And it is, it is interesting
- 33:46with the strikes on Iran and everything going on.
- 33:49There's, there's a whole sect of Christianity trying to look
- 33:53through this with, with their lens of oh, is it end times?
- 33:56It's end times guys, the Lord's coming back and we stopped
- 34:00worrying about our country so much and we just worry about,
- 34:02oh, is this fulfilling all the prophecies and Jesus is coming
- 34:05back. We don't have to worry about
- 34:06anything. It, it is this indicating end
- 34:09times Pastor Mark. So.
- 34:11Depending upon how you read the Bible, some would look at the
- 34:13prophecies and say these are fulfilled in the past,
- 34:15particularly around the days of Daniel.
- 34:19Others would say no, these are futuristic to be fulfilled.
- 34:22So there's kind of two ways to to view these things among
- 34:25people that do love the Bible and and are trying to do good
- 34:28scholarship. If you do believe that much of
- 34:31the prophetic work in the Bible is future, you go to places like
- 34:34Ezekiel 38 and 39. It talks about a war of Gog and
- 34:36Magog where the nations surrounding Israel, they
- 34:39basically align in one last ditch effort for total genocide
- 34:44to destroy the nation of Israel. One of those geographic areas is
- 34:49today Iran. OK.
- 34:51And so then the question is, well, then every anytime
- 34:53something spins up around Iran, everybody's like, we're there.
- 34:57Well, you know, maybe not because Iran's been spun up a
- 35:02few times. And I'd say if anything, what
- 35:04has happened with the last two attacks on Iran, which I agree
- 35:08with from America, is we've lessened their ability to ignite
- 35:13a global war. And so, you know, if you're, if
- 35:16your eschatology, if your end times is the nations are going
- 35:19to rise up to destroy and kill all the Jews, then Jesus returns
- 35:24to the Mount of Olives in Israel, Zechariah 14.
- 35:27Then then are actually what we're seeing now would mean that
- 35:31that's further out because right now Iran doesn't have the
- 35:34ability to ignite a global war and it does not have the support
- 35:38of the other nations in the region.
- 35:40No, right now they're just, I, I don't know, they, they bombers,
- 35:44they, they have the missiles going off that are hitting
- 35:48Muslim nations and businesses and hotels.
- 35:52So now what you've got, you've got surrounding Islamic nations
- 35:55saying we're against you. And so does this mean we're
- 35:58closer to the end? Actually, this is pushing the
- 36:02timeline out. And so anybody who was like,
- 36:04we're there, it's like, actually we just reset the clock because
- 36:08Iran isn't strong and they don't have support.
- 36:12And if you believe the Gog Magog war in Ezekiel 39, they are
- 36:15strong and they have support. Well, that we're not there.
- 36:18And the other thing of it is to Landon is you tend to get
- 36:21obsessed with eschatology and times when you're older, when
- 36:26you're young, I mean, like where you're at, you're like, you get
- 36:30a wonderful little boy. Like, you want to see him hit a
- 36:33ball off a tee. You want to teach him how to
- 36:35ride a bike. You want to teach him how to
- 36:37drive a stick shift. I mean, like, you want to add to
- 36:39your family. You want to build your future.
- 36:41And so younger people are like, quit obsessing about things that
- 36:46are completely beyond our control and let's fix our
- 36:50country. Let's strengthen family, let's
- 36:52say babies, like let's do some things that now let's get school
- 36:56choice for kids so they don't get brainwashed by the
- 36:59government. And so the older generations
- 37:02that get obsessed with eschatology, I think they do a
- 37:05disservice because they're not funding and helping the next
- 37:08generation plan for their future because they're saying there
- 37:11isn't 1. And this goes all the way back
- 37:13to the days of the New Testament.
- 37:14Like in 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, they all thought
- 37:17Jesus was coming back in 15 minutes, so they all quit their
- 37:19job. So Paul Rice was like, hey, go
- 37:22back to work, He's not coming for a while.
- 37:25And that was 2000 years ago. Because I think we all have main
- 37:28character syndrome. We're like, Oh yeah, of course
- 37:30we'll be the one. I mean, Jesus coming back.
- 37:33So we'll be here when? He comes back when I'm here.
- 37:35Yeah, yeah, it could be 10,000 years.
- 37:38Like I mean realistically it it it's a blink for the Lord like.
- 37:43Well, it's beyond our control. And so they asked Martin Luther
- 37:46one time. They said, what would you do if
- 37:48you knew Jesus was returning tomorrow?
- 37:50And he said I would plant a tree.
- 37:54And it's basically like just if, if he does come back, be doing
- 37:57everything you're supposed to be doing.
- 37:58Don't say, man, I'm glad you came back because I racked out
- 38:02my credit card and I defaulted on my mortgage and I was about
- 38:07ready to, you know, go into creditors jail because, you
- 38:11know, and but thankfully you came back.
- 38:13Lord, I knew you were. So I just stopped working and
- 38:15paying my bills. Yeah, it's a, it's a very short,
- 38:18short sighted mindset. And it's, it just leads to a lot
- 38:24of unhealth and it doesn't leave a legacy where Christians are
- 38:28not planning for generations from now.
- 38:30It doesn't feel like where the Muslims are.
- 38:33They're they're planning for 100 years.
- 38:35The Communists are. That's that's how a nation is
- 38:38stolen. It's not over five years, it's
- 38:40over 500 years. It's 50 years it's and
- 38:44consistently Muslims have taken over countries over decades, not
- 38:50minutes America, where we are much younger than they have been
- 38:57fighting and taking over nations for a long time.
- 39:01We'll get we'll get some more of that in the last segment just
- 39:04talking about what can young men actually do to fight the coming
- 39:08war with Islam and it's coming to our nation.
- 39:11But how can we live a life that is fruitful and flourishing in
- 39:16the midst of some chaos? Well, howdy Pastor Mark here.
- 39:19Wanting to thank our partners at Gold Co for sponsoring the Mark
- 39:23Driscoll Show. And if you have been watching
- 39:26the news, it's a complicated time indeed.

- 40:22Before we get there, we have a fun one protest.
- 40:25Yeah, Pastor March, they love you.
- 40:27So 9 out of their last 10 tweets have been about you and.
- 40:32Usually when they obsess it's an attractive female.
- 40:34It's not this. I know they're.
- 40:36Really, it's usually not the object of obsession.
- 40:38They are. They are really all about you
- 40:41today. Good.
- 40:42And yesterday and the day before.
- 40:43So they published an article with a very misleading headline
- 40:47saying that Melissa etcetera was preaching at your church and
- 40:52what they didn't include in the headline.
- 40:54My wife preaches at my church every week and she doesn't
- 40:58believe in women pastors or that women should be preaching on the
- 41:01weekend she preaches to. The women, women every week.
- 41:07So the Internet is there's a lot of a lot of fighting going on.
- 41:11The reform guys are a good time. We really, really they're just,
- 41:16I mean, they're arguing over his interracial marriage of sin and
- 41:20whether or not you had a woman preach.
- 41:22So that's that's they. Were on the cutting edge of
- 41:241827. We're hammering out the issues
- 41:26of the day, yes. Yeah, and I I love it because
- 41:29the the same people that will call you a chauvinist now are
- 41:32calling you feminists. I'm a chauvinist feminist.
- 41:35I love it. That is a brand new category.
- 41:38I'm really happy to launch it. And yeah, depending on who you
- 41:41talk to, I hate women or I favor them.
- 41:44Yeah, yeah. It's interesting.
- 41:46Yeah, but yeah. So you platformed Melissa and
- 41:52she's a a very dear gal. She's great.
- 41:55We met her and her husband. I thoroughly enjoyed them, love
- 41:58them. And and and I'm at the age to
- 42:00land and we're like, I want to be like we talked about this,
- 42:02like I want to be like a father. Yeah.
- 42:05And so if you're a young leader, you're a young, you know,
- 42:07preacher or whatever, and you love the Lord and you're doing
- 42:10some good stuff. How do I help?
- 42:13Yeah. When you get to be my age, that
- 42:15I would say this, the pastors are their leaders that are
- 42:17trying to be cool. They're just weird.
- 42:19Uh huh. They're just, they're just so
- 42:21weird. Like if I was wearing a
- 42:22bedazzled jacket and skateboarded in, That's just
- 42:25weird. Yeah, it's just weird.
- 42:27And so, you know, when you reach a certain age, it's not about
- 42:30being cool. It's about being helpful.
- 42:32That's that's that's what an older man is supposed to be
- 42:35helpful. He's supposed to have a father's
- 42:37heart and say, how do I help? And so I really like finding
- 42:42young leaders, preachers who they have an anointing, they
- 42:46have courage, they have strength, they have a platform
- 42:51and like, hey, how can I encourage you?
- 42:52How can I help you? And if I did have anything to
- 42:55say, I would say it offline privately.
- 42:59I would not go after it publicly if, you know, if they're doing
- 43:03the Lord's work. And if there's something
- 43:05secondary that I disagree on, it's like, give it some time.
- 43:09I mean, I was a fire breathing dragon in my 20s.
- 43:12And, you know, like you, you work it out.
- 43:15The Holy Spirit is involved. Sanctification is a process.
- 43:18But meeting them and also meeting, you know, the brother
- 43:23and his wife, Yeah. Andrew and Olene.
- 43:26Loved them, enjoyed them, proud of them, praying for them, here
- 43:30for them. Don't have any criticism of
- 43:32them. And if there was something I
- 43:34thought that would help them, I would talk to them privately and
- 43:37respectfully, like a father would a kid that they cared
- 43:39about. Yeah, I mean, I think the
- 43:40biggest thing you need to confront them on is their
- 43:42interracial marriage. Yeah, that's so weird.
- 43:44It's like we attacked and we missed the targets.
- 43:46We moved. Interracial marriage.
- 43:48That one is just just so you know, if you're a Christian,
- 43:51that does not help our evangelistic thoughts.
- 43:54So on that note, why is the reform community I?
- 43:58So I came from the AG world. I didn't even know about the
- 44:00reform community but. I came from Catholic, not like
- 44:04like go to church twice a year a Catholic.
- 44:06Yeah, yeah, yeah. So like this whole reform
- 44:09community, I was new to it a few years ago.
- 44:11Why are they so toxic? Yeah, I mean, so this is long.
- 44:17So I didn't grow up with an evangelicalism.
- 44:19I didn't grow up within a tribe within evangelicalism.
- 44:22I just got saved reading the Bible at 19 in college.
- 44:24First group I get in was the first deconstructionist, the
- 44:27emerging church. And and you know, it was just
- 44:32like, OK, I thought we were trying to reach young people for
- 44:35Christ. They're trying to deconstruct
- 44:37and start apostasy. And I'm like, well, I'm out.
- 44:40Like they're like, well, what about homosexuality?
- 44:42I was like, what the this is very clear and I don't want to
- 44:45sleep with any of you. So I'm like, I'm not.
- 44:49That's literally what I said in dinner with the speakers at an
- 44:51event. They're like, what are
- 44:52homesteads? Like, we're kidding, right?
- 44:54They're like, no, I was like, I'm a speak.
- 44:55With any of you. I brought Grace.
- 44:57I got this locked down, you know.
- 44:58I'm no longer comfortable with this dinner.
- 45:00Yeah, no, I'm not. I'm not staying for dessert.
- 45:03Check, please. And and so then I exited kind of
- 45:06that world and I didn't even know that there were apostate,
- 45:10pro gay, universalistic Christians.
- 45:12I was like, I guess they've read in the Bible.
- 45:14I didn't even know there were these people.
- 45:16This is crazy. Well then I end up getting into
- 45:19more of the Reformed tribe because I'm an expositional
- 45:22Bible teacher and technically, theologically I am reformed.
- 45:28I'm more Lutheran on some issues than Calvin.
- 45:31But I do believe the big issue is like, what does God choose
- 45:33you or do you choose God? I believe you choose each other,
- 45:36but God chooses you first and so regeneration precedes faith.
- 45:40God gives you a new heart and then the new heart loves the
- 45:43Lord. The old heart can't love the
- 45:44Lord and and so for me, technically I am Reform and
- 45:48theologically I've actually never moved.
- 45:50I've been literally I. Just don't have any joy.
- 45:54Well, so that, but the issue is there.
- 45:56There's a couple of reasons that certain tribes become more
- 46:00difficult. Number one, in fundamentalism
- 46:03there's something called 2° of separation.
- 46:06So fundamentalism, it's not fun, but it is damn mental.
- 46:09So it's odd branding fundamentalism is.
- 46:12And So what happens is 2° of separation is if I'm OK with
- 46:18you, but I'm not OK with them and you're associating with
- 46:21them, I have to cut both of you off because I need degrees of
- 46:26separation. Well, if you do that, pretty
- 46:29soon you're in a, you're in a very small tribe.
- 46:34And if anybody ventures out of the tribe to go talk to somebody
- 46:37or speak at a conference or an event or a church, then you need
- 46:40to all denounce and cut them off.
- 46:42This has nothing to do with the Bible.
- 46:45It is literally in the founding tenants of something called
- 46:48fundamentalism. And and this is one of their
- 46:50fundamentals. And so for me, I don't see my
- 46:54theology as a prison. I see it as a home.
- 46:58I can leave my house. I can go to your house.
- 47:01Your house is a little different than my house.
- 47:04My house, we keep our shoes on. Your house, you take your shoes
- 47:07off. Our houses are a little
- 47:08different. That's your house.
- 47:10This is my house. My house.
- 47:12I'm going to do it the way I want your house.
- 47:14You do it the way you want. I'll visit your house.
- 47:18But I I'm not going to blow up your house.
- 47:21And I'm allowed to leave my house because my house isn't a
- 47:25prison. But this is where it's like you
- 47:28can only read books that come from these two publishers.
- 47:30You can only preach from this one translation.
- 47:32You can only go to these two Bible colleges or seminaries,
- 47:35you know, And it's, it just becomes so narrow.
- 47:38And you can't have new believers in that environment because
- 47:43they're in the process of answering the questions.
- 47:46You can't have deep thinking people unless they're able to be
- 47:49in the process and maybe come to a different conclusion on what I
- 47:53would call an open handed or secondary matter.
- 47:56And so for me, I'm like, and the thing of it is too, I'm like
- 47:59everybody who's fighting over the old issues, they'd
- 48:01understand that this is a wildly different day.
- 48:05Nobody cares if you speak in tongues.
- 48:07Nobody cares whether or not you have instruments in worship.
- 48:11We are mutilating children. We are murdering babies.
- 48:15We are brainwashing teenagers. And we want to talk about
- 48:20interracial marriage. We have a.
- 48:21Whole generation of women who are lesbians and trans and
- 48:25progressive with mental health. It's like, OK, so interracial
- 48:31marriage, I mean. It's so privileged.
- 48:34It's like, well, the the Old Testament, it's like, dude,
- 48:38they're mutilating your kids. Joseph interracial marriage.
- 48:41Moses interracial marriage, you know, Ruth and Boaz was an
- 48:46interracial marriage. She's part of the lineage of
- 48:49Jesus. You know, in the days of Moses
- 48:52when he had an interracial marriage and it was questioned,
- 48:54God actually brought judgment and the curse on those who were
- 48:57questioned. I mean, it's like, so it's like
- 48:58this is, this is what happens when you have a very small
- 49:03church and a very loudmouth. You end up making a lot of noise
- 49:08online, but then locally you're not seeing a lot of people meet
- 49:12Christ because in a church you can tell a lot about who's there
- 49:16on the discussions they're having.
- 49:17If you have new Christians, here's their question.
- 49:21Can I sleep with him? Can I sleep with her?
- 49:23I sleep with them. Those are their three questions.
- 49:26You're at you're there. Do I, I just got saved.
- 49:28Do I still get to live with my girlfriend?
- 49:30I, I just got saved. Can I still run my pop farm?
- 49:33I mean, when you're dealing with new Christians, they have
- 49:36totally different questions. And it's not interracial
- 49:39marriage. It's, it's just not, it's not
- 49:42head coverings, It's not speaking in tongues.
- 49:44It's and these things may be fun for, you know, very small tribes
- 49:48of people who, you know, don't know a lot of lost people and
- 49:52don't have much going on at their church, but they're not
- 49:56helpful. And, and the, the Calvinists
- 49:59too, the, the hard reform guys, there are soft reform, but
- 50:02there's hard reform is we have two doctrines that that are
- 50:05interesting. 1 the sovereignty of God is above all the other
- 50:08attributes of God. And so you got to be very
- 50:10careful when you take God's attributes and sort of elevate 1
- 50:13is the premier. So like the liberals will talk
- 50:16about God's love or his mercy. And that's, and that's the only
- 50:20attribute. If God is only sovereign, then
- 50:23you're knocking on the door of deism.
- 50:25That means that God is distant and far away and he's not
- 50:28involved. And the other is in the
- 50:30Westminster Confession, it says that God is without passions and
- 50:35that means emotions. And so for the nerds, they would
- 50:40stress the immutability of God, that God cannot be changed.
- 50:43So they, their, their argument logically, not biblically, would
- 50:47be that if God responds to you emotionally, you've changed him.
- 50:51And So what they do, they say God is sovereign and not
- 50:53emotional. So what do you end up with?
- 50:55People who are not relational, They're far away and they're not
- 51:00really emotionally connected. And so these are people that, I
- 51:03mean, I know them. I mean, these are people that
- 51:05literally will trash me online and they have my cell and they
- 51:08don't even call text or e-mail to see if it's true.
- 51:12And it's like that's, but then honestly, if you're that way and
- 51:18you don't, and if you're a cessationist who really doesn't
- 51:20believe in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, like if you have
- 51:23the Holy Spirit, I don't need to control you because he will.
- 51:26I don't need to push you because he will.
- 51:30And if I trust the Holy Spirit in you, he's going to figure it
- 51:33out. And if I don't believe you have
- 51:35the Holy Spirit, then I need to nominate myself to be the Holy
- 51:37Spirit. And so for me, like I believe in
- 51:40the Holy Spirit. I believe God is sovereign and
- 51:43transcendent. I believe He's imminent and
- 51:45present and I believe that we should be emotional and
- 51:49relational and I don't believe in the degrees of separation.
- 51:52And I'll talk to believers who love the Lord and disagree on a
- 51:54second handed issue and be friends with them and they'll
- 51:57freak out and I don't care. Yeah, I feel like for me,
- 52:03because obviously Trinity and a lot of people around there, you
- 52:07can get really down these rabbit trails on theology and the, the,
- 52:11the secondary issues, things that and they hold it so tight.
- 52:14I look at the example of Jesus and I don't see him doing
- 52:18dividing relationships and going on X and blowing people up over
- 52:22interracial marriage and attacking people on, on, oh, you
- 52:25said this theologically, it's a little off.
- 52:28The only time you see Jesus really get into theology is when
- 52:30he's correcting a Pharisee. A religious leader who's a
- 52:33hypocrite and leading people astray.
- 52:36Yep. So I, I, I feel like it's hard
- 52:39to read the Bible and come out of it and hold the views that
- 52:44the Reform community does, at least currently, what, what they
- 52:46are. Well, there's theological
- 52:49convictions and then there's relational practices.
- 52:54Because kids ran to Jesus. Most these reform guys don't
- 52:57have a kids ministry. Yeah, yeah.
- 53:00Well, and for me, like I am, I am theologically reformed and
- 53:04charismatic, but relationally I'm like I, we're all going to
- 53:07be together forever. So we probably should say hi
- 53:11before we get there because none of us is going to stand before
- 53:15Jesus and be like these guys. They got everything right.
- 53:18You're all now joining their team.
- 53:20We're all going to repent to something.
- 53:22We're all going to learn something and we're all wrong
- 53:24about something. And we need to have the the
- 53:26humility to build relationship and at least consider, you know,
- 53:30is it possible that I'm wrong? Or is it possible that that I
- 53:33could learn something from them and not just teach and correct
- 53:36them? Yep, Yep, that's really good.
- 53:39And the big theological question that everyone wants to know,
- 53:41Pastor Mark, is have you changed your position from 15 years ago
- 53:45on women preachers, Pastors, what is your current stance?
- 53:48Nothing has changed. And this is my 31st years of
- 53:51senior pastor in the pulpit on the Trinity, on predestination,
- 53:56on the resurrection, on substitutionary atonement, on
- 53:59the inheritance to Scripture, on original sin.
- 54:03Nothing. Not I.
- 54:05If anything, I am shocked at how boringly consistent I have been
- 54:10for over 30 years. You guys pull up clips that I
- 54:14said 25 years ago. I was like, it's the exact same
- 54:16thing. So let's just make it clear.
- 54:19So what we're talking about is First Timothy 2 and three and
- 54:22Titus one and First Timothy three.
- 54:26And yeah, First Timothy 3 and Titus talk about qualifications
- 54:30for a senior leader in a church. And it has a qualification.
- 54:33One of them is the husband of one wife.
- 54:35In the Greek text, it's literally a one woman man,
- 54:38meaning, you know, he's fully devoted to his wife.
- 54:41And so the primary qualifications for a senior male
- 54:44leader in the church is a godly man with a good marriage and
- 54:49he's a good father. That his priorities of God,
- 54:51wife, kids are his first priority and there's fruit
- 54:54there. In First Timothy 2, it says I do
- 54:56not permit a woman to teach or have authority over a man.
- 54:59It's something called a hop hox legomena, meaning it only
- 55:02appears once in the Bible. So if you have a word and you're
- 55:05like, what does that word mean? It's like it only appears once.
- 55:08It's kind of hard to get a clear definition of what the word
- 55:11means because we don't we don't have context to view it
- 55:13elsewhere. Some would say that that means
- 55:17that a woman should never, ever teach in any sort of and
- 55:21shouldn't teach. Kids shouldn't teach.
- 55:23You know, women shouldn't teach or have authority over a man is
- 55:27what it says. Others would go to the other
- 55:30side and say, well, she can teach as long as she's under the
- 55:33authority of her husband. Because the issue here is being
- 55:35under a head and authority. My view has always been whatever
- 55:39the senior leadership in the church is, and we're not talking
- 55:42about real faith or some pro-life organization.
- 55:45We're not talking about a political organization.
- 55:46We're talking solely about the church that the senior leaders
- 55:50need to be men. And so in different churches and
- 55:54denominations, though, they'll use different terms for the
- 55:58senior leader. Like you go to a Baptist Church,
- 56:01you're like, well, who votes in the pastor?
- 56:02Like the Deacon board, you're like Deacon boards.
- 56:05OK, I guess the deacons here at the top of the food chain, you
- 56:09go into another church, you're like, what's the pastors?
- 56:11You're going to another say, well, we have the elders.
- 56:13You go into like a black church to like the Bishop.
- 56:16You're like the Bishop. OK, So don't get hung up on all
- 56:19the titles because different groups will use different
- 56:22titles. But just the question is, in
- 56:24senior leadership, my entire career, board members of the
- 56:28church have only been men. Without exception.
- 56:32My wife does make all the decisions with me because we're
- 56:36one. It's not good to be alone.
- 56:38And you know, prudent wife is from the Lord and she's my
- 56:41helper. She does sit in on the board
- 56:44meetings with me. And I want the church to have
- 56:47the heart of a mom and a dad because I'll be honest, I'm not
- 56:50the subject matter expert for women and children.
- 56:54And if something does happen to me, Grace temporarily boats in
- 56:59my place, representing my interests.
- 57:01So right now, we make decisions and I vote.
- 57:04Let's say something catastrophic happens.
- 57:06Grace will vote on my behalf temporarily because she would be
- 57:11representing what I would have voted if I was able to be at the
- 57:14meeting. It's never happened.
- 57:16That probably offends some people, but that's how we roll.
- 57:18Because I love my wife and we're one, and we do everything
- 57:20together. I've only ever called men in the
- 57:24church Pastor. We've reserved that title solely
- 57:28for men who meet the qualifications and so.
- 57:31And that's your church. That's my church.
- 57:33But you'd be friends with somebody in the AG church that
- 57:36has totally it's pastor that's a woman.
- 57:38Yeah, they well, and they'll use different terms.
- 57:39And sometimes even when you get into they're like, well, what we
- 57:42mean by pastor is this, and what you mean by pastor is this like,
- 57:45OK, well, Paul literally says don't quarrel over words.
- 57:48Yeah, he literally says not to. So there's the spirit of the law
- 57:51and the letter of the law. But again, it's a secondary open
- 57:53handed issue. And I, you know, like what this
- 57:58would be maybe a little controversy, but like, OK, so
- 58:01you got a guy who is complimentary and then reformed
- 58:04and male and committing adultery or apostate or soft woke.
- 58:09You're like, and he's like, that woman should not be preaching is
- 58:13like, well, at least she's not a heretic and she's not committing
- 58:17adultery. And, and the big issue is not
- 58:21that she's a woman, it's that you're not qualified as a man.
- 58:25It's that's what I like all these guys are arguing.
- 58:27It's like the whole reform community, all the guys are
- 58:29falling apart right now. And it's like you're not worried
- 58:32about that, but you're worried about polygamy, interracial
- 58:34marriage and women teaching. So you, you get so privileged
- 58:39and out of touch with the church that these guys just and they
- 58:44don't want to talk about those issues because, well, it might
- 58:46convict them. Yeah.
- 58:48And. Because the qualifications are
- 58:50how's your how's your relationship with Jesus, your
- 58:52wife and your kids, you know and like.
- 58:56And for me, though, to the the misleading part and we can move
- 58:58on was they said she preached at my church.
- 59:01It was a women preaching to women out of women's event.
- 59:05And So what that is is that's click bait and that's rage bait.
- 59:09And then when they get exposed of like, that was dishonesty and
- 59:12a violation of the 9th commandment, which I preached on
- 59:15shortly thereafter, then they pivot the argument to, well, her
- 59:19husband is brown. It's like, OK, this is what
- 59:22happens when you're unrepentant and you're being a Yep.
- 59:29Yeah, one of your with. GG the word, the letter J.
- 59:31And it ain't Jesus. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:36One of one of the guys that doesn't even like you One.
- 59:39Yeah, one of them, one of them, one of them response to protest
- 59:42you because they're like, what's misleading?
- 59:44And they go protest. You're breaking Mark Driscoll as
- 59:46a woman speak at a woman's event promotes her message wouldn't
- 59:49have got as many clicks. And women speak at women's
- 59:52events frequently in most evangelical churches.
- 59:54And there's nothing scandalous about about that.
- 59:57And you knew that. So they're getting called out by
- 1:00:00every side of this because it's like you, you just did a click
- 1:00:03bait article like. And the guys that are raging
- 1:00:07that are pastors, almost every one of them, their wife teaches
- 1:00:13women just like my wife. Now, I will say when I do
- 1:00:16marriage conferences or events, yeah, I'll pull my wife up.
- 1:00:21And when we're honoring women on Mother's Day or whatever, like
- 1:00:24they'll give testimony. Women lead worship at our church
- 1:00:27to administer sacraments. I mean, it's like, but we're
- 1:00:30probably not where people think I am.
- 1:00:33And I've got strong wife, strong daughters, strong daughter in
- 1:00:37laws, not independent and very, very strong.
- 1:00:40And I, I love to encourage women to be absolutely strong and in
- 1:00:46relation to their marriage, just not independent from their
- 1:00:49husband. And so our our model is always
- 1:00:52do ministry together. So in real faith and at Trinity,
- 1:00:57it's a lot of couples serving together.
- 1:00:59Oh yeah, yeah. My my wife serves here at the
- 1:01:02ministry. She teaches at Trinity.
- 1:01:04Sometimes she teaches online and I'm very grateful for her.
- 1:01:08You do ministry with your wife. I do ministry with my wife.
- 1:01:10My encouragement is always don't argue about women in ministry.
- 1:01:13Have a good marriage and do ministry with your wife.
- 1:01:15And if you're the head of household and family, then she's
- 1:01:18probably not a fine minister, independent.
- 1:01:20And so do life and ministry together.
- 1:01:22That's what Grace and I've done our whole life.
- 1:01:24I'm excited for your newest book, The Feminist Chauvinist.
- 1:01:26The feminist chauvinist. I think that I mean, Jesus was
- 1:01:29somewhere in between us. Well, awesome.
- 1:01:34We'll move on to our next segment, which is on young men.
- 1:01:37And what can young Christian men practically do to fight Islam,
- 1:01:41to build a life to to have a future in America?
- 1:01:45And we wanted to roll a clip from one of your most favorite
- 1:01:49young men that are out there right now.
- 1:01:53Something has gone horribly wrong.
- 1:01:56All of those people, with some exceptions, were never Trumpers
- 1:02:01in 2016. Shapiro didn't vote for Trump in
- 1:02:0416. Mark Levin was critical of Trump
- 1:02:08in 2016. Where were these?
- 1:02:11People when the movement was actually born, when those
- 1:02:13pillars were in place. Now all of those people are in
- 1:02:16the center. The movement is something else
- 1:02:19now and what we need in 2028. This is our last chance.
- 1:02:24We need in 2026 for this administration to be shut the
- 1:02:27fuck down. What does this administration do
- 1:02:31other than cover up the Epstein files, embezzle money through
- 1:02:34government contracts, and bring us to war for Israel?
- 1:02:37This administration needs to be shut down immediately.
- 1:02:43Do not vote in the midterms, and if you do, vote for Democrats.
- 1:02:47Fuck this. That is what the Republicans
- 1:02:50deliver. That is what our golden age
- 1:02:53looks like. The tariffs were refunded.
- 1:02:56The deportations were. Stopped.
- 1:02:58They wound down and withdrew the ice from Minneapolis.
- 1:03:02What does this administration do other than embezzle money?
- 1:03:07Go to. War with Iran and bury the
- 1:03:10Epstein file. So Nick Fuentes, he's just a
- 1:03:14he's just a good hearted young man just really trying to make a
- 1:03:17difference. He.
- 1:03:18Taps true or false to Atlanta. He taps into anger that a lot of
- 1:03:21young men are feeling. Yes.
- 1:03:24So, so I'm not saying that we agree with the racism, right
- 1:03:26that, but the, the the route is men are angry and he's an angry
- 1:03:30men. So they identify with that.
- 1:03:33True, 100% true. I think my concern when I listen
- 1:03:36to that and I hear because it, it inspires something in me, I'm
- 1:03:39like, yeah, I'm, I'm mad. It's victimhood.
- 1:03:42I, I, I'm, I'm not a victim. Life is hard.
- 1:03:46America is hard thing things are.
- 1:03:49It's not easy to meet gals. It's not it's not easy to build
- 1:03:52a life, but never has been in America.
- 1:03:55The American dream wasn't something that just happened to
- 1:03:58people. I was looking at it right before
- 1:04:00we got into this. The Great Depression,
- 1:04:03unemployment hit 25%. We are at 4% currently.
- 1:04:08The GDP fell 30% in four years. We're growing every single year.
- 1:04:159000 banks failed, suicide rates rose 22%.
- 1:04:22The annual income drop from 2300 a month or a year to 1400 a
- 1:04:27year. What what's hard about America
- 1:04:31today is that everybody's glued to a cell phone, everyone's on
- 1:04:35social media, everyone's comparing.
- 1:04:37And I think messages like this create a victimhood in young men
- 1:04:42where it only perpetuates the problem.
- 1:04:43It doesn't dig us out of it. And not going out and voting
- 1:04:47isn't going to help. But what I I think helps is
- 1:04:51young men getting involved in their church, serving,
- 1:04:55volunteering, doing something. I being busy, I think the the
- 1:05:00most dangerous thing for a young man is a lot of free time where
- 1:05:03you're just scrolling on your phone listening to guys like
- 1:05:05this and not working. Before I was married to Ashley,
- 1:05:09I work 2 full time jobs and I volunteered at the church pretty
- 1:05:12much full time and I was very busy.
- 1:05:15I was in three Bible studies. I LED two of them.
- 1:05:19I graduated college well before everyone else my age and I was
- 1:05:22flipping cars. I stayed really busy.
- 1:05:25And I think young men, we're not busy enough.
- 1:05:27We're we're at home playing video games.
- 1:05:29We're at home listening to content that makes us angry.
- 1:05:32And we're in the gym where we will never meet another gal.
- 1:05:36Hopefully you're in the gym. I mean, that's a good thing.
- 1:05:37I'm not discouraging that, but. But most of your proverbs 31
- 1:05:41women are not in a sports bra at the gym.
- 1:05:43No, no, you go to a Scottsdale gym and it's like, all right,
- 1:05:46I'm going to do my set. But I think it is, it is very
- 1:05:52easy to listen to that. And I mean, Nick Fuentes, before
- 1:05:56he got his podcast rolling, and even when I think even till
- 1:06:00somewhat recently, he, he didn't have a job and he lived with his
- 1:06:04parents and then he went to political commentator.
- 1:06:07I, I don't, you don't really have a resume to ignite young
- 1:06:09men to go build something. You have a resume to ignite
- 1:06:13young men to be angry about something.
- 1:06:15And that's, that's what he's built the platform off of.
- 1:06:17And so for me, I, I have a lot of caution for a young man that
- 1:06:22just wants to be angry right now and feel like they can't dig out
- 1:06:24of this hole. You are the only person that can
- 1:06:27dig out of this hole for yourself.
- 1:06:29You're the only person that can build a life in America.
- 1:06:31And we live in one of the greatest countries to do that.
- 1:06:34And we can hate our country, complain about Iran, We can
- 1:06:37complain about what Trump's doing, all these things, but we
- 1:06:40have to take personal responsibility and do something.
- 1:06:43We have to get activated. And the first step, if I was
- 1:06:46single and early 20s, I would go serve at my church.
- 1:06:49I would find a good church. I would serve there and serve
- 1:06:52there as much as possible. I would get a job.
- 1:06:54I would get a second job. As busy as I possibly could be.
- 1:06:58Well, I might not meet a girl. You, you might, though.
- 1:07:00You definitely won't meet her. You could lead one to Christ.
- 1:07:03Yeah if you're like I can't find a Christian women, then go
- 1:07:06advanced. Not missionary dating, but like
- 1:07:08be evangelistic and I'll tell you what I mean.
- 1:07:11You can lead to God of Christ to marry her. 100 percent, 100% get
- 1:07:16involved in a church together. That's awesome.
- 1:07:18Get married quick. Don't don't like date for three
- 1:07:21years. If you can date a girl for three
- 1:07:23years, I don't think you should get married.
- 1:07:25If you can stay out of sin and date a girl for three years, I
- 1:07:27don't. I don't think you.
- 1:07:28Should unless you're 12 or. Something yes.
- 1:07:29Yes if you're young. But if you're in your 20s and
- 1:07:31you meet a girl and you both love Jesus and you have a shared
- 1:07:35vision for life, get married and then have a lot of kids, have
- 1:07:39have too many kids. Because Islam is planning for
- 1:07:44the future and we're not. We are victims complaining about
- 1:07:47the future or victims complaining about the present
- 1:07:50right now. And we need to think a lot more
- 1:07:53about our future, our family's future, my family, because
- 1:07:56there's been all throughout the Bible people living in much
- 1:07:59worse times than we are. We are incredibly blessed to
- 1:08:02live in America. Freedom of religion.
- 1:08:05There's plenty of churches that the problem with the churches,
- 1:08:07it's so privileged. They can have all these views
- 1:08:09and go woke and it is no longer a church.
- 1:08:13But we have so much opportunity in America.
- 1:08:16There are so many jobs, there are so many great people.
- 1:08:21You just have to make progress and it progress doesn't look
- 1:08:24like some magical day in your future.
- 1:08:27It is progress is going and getting a couple jobs and
- 1:08:29volunteering a lot. Having the uncomfortable
- 1:08:31conversation, putting yourself out there and talking to a girl,
- 1:08:35putting some stuff at risk and being vulnerable.
- 1:08:37And then ask her out, tell her she's pretty.
- 1:08:41Ask her if she wants to be her wife and if she'll sign up for
- 1:08:43that, Do that and roll forward. We were talking to one of the
- 1:08:47guys before and there's 35 year olds reaching out to him like I
- 1:08:50want to, I want to build a life like yours.
- 1:08:52And it's, it's a little sad hearing that.
- 1:08:53And you are the only person that can build a life for yourself.
- 1:08:58The government isn't going to do it.
- 1:08:59Trump is not going to do it. Your school is not going to do
- 1:09:02it. Your job's not going to do it.
- 1:09:03And your church probably won't do it.
- 1:09:05A lot of churches suck nowadays. But you have to get activated if
- 1:09:09you want a life that's different than yours, if you want to.
- 1:09:12We can either be victims or we can make progress as Christian
- 1:09:15men. And I think we're called to make
- 1:09:17progress. One in that too.
- 1:09:20What would you say to a young guy who's like in where I live,
- 1:09:22there's not a great church. There's not a lot of young
- 1:09:24women. Move, move.
- 1:09:27Why would you stay there? One of the one of the awesome
- 1:09:30guys at Real Faith moved here from San Diego.
- 1:09:32He couldn't find a great church. There wasn't great women.
- 1:09:34He moved to Scottsdale during COVID, found a great wife, found
- 1:09:38a great job and he's been here ever since.
- 1:09:39And now he. Has saw his adorable, beautiful
- 1:09:42baby girl here and it's like, yeah, just, I mean, sometimes
- 1:09:46you just got to like, hey, there ain't good fishing in this trout
- 1:09:50pond. I got to go find a new lake, I
- 1:09:51mean. And if you live somewhere super
- 1:09:53liberal, I would move for sure. Go, go get around some great
- 1:09:57gals and it's there. It's not weird to move to a
- 1:09:59church. Like move like, oh, there's a
- 1:10:02great church in North Carolina. Let me move there and go there.
- 1:10:05Oh, Scottsdale, AZ, oh, Josh McPherson in Wenatchee, like
- 1:10:09just go be part of a great community.
- 1:10:10I think that's like the most important thing for young men.
- 1:10:14Well, and and in that too, so if you are a single guy and you're
- 1:10:18like, you know, Epstein files and Iran and da, da, da, da da
- 1:10:22and ice, OK, all of which I'm conservative way over on the
- 1:10:25right. But if you're single, you're not
- 1:10:29thinking about school choice because you don't have kids.
- 1:10:33You're trying to sign up for school.
- 1:10:34So now that you're a dad, how important is it to not just dump
- 1:10:39the midterms and vote for Democrats?
- 1:10:42Because like here in Arizona, like we've got to get a governor
- 1:10:44and attorney general and they're coming after school choice.
- 1:10:49And like, you've got a little boy who's going to need to go to
- 1:10:51school. You know how how much is it
- 1:10:55irresponsible to say ignore the midterms when it's not just
- 1:11:00national, it's it's state and local issues in play as well?
- 1:11:03It's the issue of life abortion, it's the issue of school, it's
- 1:11:07the issue of taxes. All these things that we're
- 1:11:10worried about. If you just dump the election
- 1:11:13could be catastrophic. You could like Arizona is a hard
- 1:11:16one because we're teetering blue or red always.
- 1:11:19And so you, we can't give up ground.
- 1:11:22We, we have to keep fighting for turning towards policies that
- 1:11:27will lead to life and flourishing.
- 1:11:29And we're very quickly seeing States and cities like New York
- 1:11:33that are just taking a hard left and to the point where it's not
- 1:11:37habitable. But we're 10 years away from
- 1:11:39that in any state like Arizona or we're teetering and there's a
- 1:11:42lot of people moving here. We, we could look like New York
- 1:11:45in 20 years. And I want to build a city in a
- 1:11:49state where my son can live in the future, not that he has to
- 1:11:52go live in the middle of Wyoming to to try and have some decent
- 1:11:56life and get married. And so I think it's it's very
- 1:12:01hard because most of the political commentators like him,
- 1:12:05he's not married, he doesn't have kids.
- 1:12:07He has a platform where he grows his platform by creating more
- 1:12:11victims. And I think we need a lot less
- 1:12:13victims as young men. And we need guys that are taking
- 1:12:16responsibility. And yeah, if you don't have a
- 1:12:18community move, that's taking ownership.
- 1:12:20And I think the world will sell you victimhood.
- 1:12:23I think it's very easy to buy into and it makes you passive.
- 1:12:27It's like that. That's the passivity that I'm
- 1:12:29like, yeah, I can sit back and take it or I can do something.
- 1:12:33And I'm the kind of guy that needs to do something.
- 1:12:35I'm not going to just, oh, yeah, my life sucks.
- 1:12:37It's hard. Yeah, it is hard.
- 1:12:40I'm sorry. The part of it too is when God
- 1:12:45gives you an opportunity to have a family.
- 1:12:48The national issues matter, but suddenly the most close
- 1:12:54proximity issues matter most. Like, you know, we bomb Iran and
- 1:13:00you know, the grandkids are over at our house playing.
- 1:13:04I can't control whether or not we bomb Iran, but I can control
- 1:13:07whether or not I know my grandkids.
- 1:13:10And we have joy together. And so that's what you're
- 1:13:14talking about is taking all of that maybe energy, emotion, even
- 1:13:19anger and directing it. And so, you know, for those of
- 1:13:22us who are older, we were talking about this for the
- 1:13:24younger guys offline with a guy like Nick Fuentes or like he's a
- 1:13:28racist, he's a this and that and that and that.
- 1:13:30OK, OK. Yeah.
- 1:13:30So the solutions, let's know. But is there is there any
- 1:13:36measure of reasonableness and the frustration?
- 1:13:40Yes. Like I've got, you know, I've
- 1:13:43got kids that are in their 20s. Like interest rates have been
- 1:13:46horrible. The, the housing market is a
- 1:13:49horrible time to enter the market.
- 1:13:52I would be very frustrated if I was a young guy who was working
- 1:13:55hard and, and, and I couldn't get into the housing market.
- 1:13:58I would be very frustrated if I was a young guy and it seemed
- 1:14:02like, man, we're, we're, we're helping other nations, but I
- 1:14:05haven't seen any personal progress in mine.
- 1:14:08I I understand all of that. But then the, the issue is, OK,
- 1:14:12well, what's the solution? And the solution is you may not
- 1:14:15be able to change America, but you can create a place that is
- 1:14:21really beautiful for your family.
- 1:14:24And it's like in the days of Noah, like everybody else got
- 1:14:28flooded. But Noah's family was OK.
- 1:14:30He built his ark. And as a man, yeah, you, you
- 1:14:33want to, you hope that the nation doesn't have a flood.
- 1:14:36But if there is a flood, like, where's your ark?
- 1:14:38And like, what is your, what is your family?
- 1:14:40Go in. What do you I think that that's
- 1:14:42where my my mindset lands is what is the life I can build for
- 1:14:47my family because I'm not going to.
- 1:14:49I will vote, but I'm not going to impact that much when it has
- 1:14:52to do with the Epstein files or what we do in Iran.
- 1:14:55I have to Romans 13 and submit to that.
- 1:14:57God put Trump in place right now and actually he's fighting evil.
- 1:15:01So I'm not going to. It could be a lot worse.
- 1:15:04It could be a lot worse, and I'm in the bleachers.
- 1:15:07God didn't call me to be president.
- 1:15:09So how privileged is it for all these Christians to sit back and
- 1:15:12critique him? Hey, he's not making the
- 1:15:14decision you'd make, but God didn't put you there.
- 1:15:16So at Romans 13, let's submit and just trust that this is from
- 1:15:21God. But what can we do?
- 1:15:22What? What is my responsibility as a
- 1:15:24man? And it has been historically it,
- 1:15:29it has been harder for men than it is now.
- 1:15:32We we live in a pretty awesome time in the history of the
- 1:15:38country and of the world. And we have self driving cars.
- 1:15:42We have food that I could click order right now and it'd be here
- 1:15:46by the end of the show. Like we do live in a pretty
- 1:15:49great time. It just is a little defeating, I
- 1:15:51think for young men that's we're falling.
- 1:15:55Less guys are in college than ever before.
- 1:15:57Less guys are employed than ever before.
- 1:16:00More females are the world is shifting female and it is not
- 1:16:05honoring young men, but So what we we got to do something and
- 1:16:11and like you said, build an arc for our family, get activated in
- 1:16:15in what, what can you control? What can you build?
- 1:16:19I I think of the the show undercover undercover
- 1:16:23billionaire. It's like drop, drop you in a
- 1:16:25city for 90 days. You're starting over.
- 1:16:27What would you do practically, if if you started over right now
- 1:16:31and you were 20 and you had no wife, no kids, no job, what
- 1:16:35would you do? Yeah, for me, I mean so so part
- 1:16:39of it too is like you're in front of you.
- 1:16:41Like I'm angry, I'm responding, I'm angry, I'm responding, I'm
- 1:16:43angry and responding and then my day's over.
- 1:16:46OK, OK, what do I want to build? Where do I want to go and start
- 1:16:51to have a Longview. I was talking to Grace about
- 1:16:54this week. We are hike went for a like a
- 1:16:56long hike in the woods on Friday was our date and just holding
- 1:16:59hands and praying and visiting and she said God put in me.
- 1:17:03She said something really strange.
- 1:17:04She said ever since you were a little boy you've thought very
- 1:17:07long term. Like I remember being a little
- 1:17:09boy thinking about being a dad. I was the same way.
- 1:17:12Yep. You know, and I and so like once
- 1:17:15I started, like once I met Grace, I was like, OK, there's
- 1:17:17my girl. And what happens once you meet
- 1:17:20your girl, you become a lot more efficient.
- 1:17:23And usually to marry that girl, there's some sort of Mount
- 1:17:26Everest you've got to climb to get there.
- 1:17:29Financial, geographical, whatever.
- 1:17:31It like something you got to you like you got to earn it.
- 1:17:35And once I met Grace, it was like, OK, I want to have a
- 1:17:37family with this woman. I want to have kids.
- 1:17:39I want to be a dad. I want to go to Little League
- 1:17:42games. I want to have tea parties like,
- 1:17:44you know, and I'm living in downtown Seattle in the CHOP
- 1:17:47zone and there isn't even a Republican precinct because I
- 1:17:50haven't voted for anybody since 1980.
- 1:17:52And it's like I'm not expecting Seattle to create a great
- 1:17:54environment for my kids, but I can to the best of my ability.
- 1:17:59And and you know, then once you get married and you start
- 1:18:01thinking about being a grandpa, like where I'm at now is
- 1:18:03grandpa. So what am I thinking about?
- 1:18:04Like, OK, how do I create an environment that the grandkids
- 1:18:08are loved and you guys can get dates and be blessed, the
- 1:18:11couples and then and then at some point when God gives them
- 1:18:14vision and dream for their future, like how can I add value
- 1:18:17and participate? And at the end of the day, you
- 1:18:20know, I'm going to stand before God and give an account for me,
- 1:18:24for my wife, for my kids, for how I treat my grandkids.
- 1:18:28Somebody else is going to stand before God and give an account
- 1:18:30for the Upstein Files. I think it's grotesque and it's
- 1:18:34evil and it is demonic and it is horrific.
- 1:18:38But I can put a playset at my kids, my grand, for my grandkids
- 1:18:42in the backyard, and when they can come over, make sure that
- 1:18:46they have a lot of fun together now that I can do and that I do
- 1:18:49have responsibility and dominion for and that I'll give account
- 1:18:53to God for. And so if you're a single guy,
- 1:18:56like man, yeah, I think you're right, Find a good church, find
- 1:18:58a girl and start dreaming about building a family.
- 1:19:02And you may say, well, it's really hard to buy a house right
- 1:19:04now. There are there are times that
- 1:19:06interest rates have actually been double where they are right
- 1:19:08now. And no government assistance.
- 1:19:11So I was talking to a guy this week and he's buying a house and
- 1:19:15the government is giving him his entire down payment and it's
- 1:19:19going to be the exact same cost as renting.
- 1:19:21So it's awesome. It's awesome.
- 1:19:24I, I, I think my concern with guys like Nick Fuentes is you
- 1:19:28can play video games and listen to his podcast and be completely
- 1:19:32content as a victim and America isn't that bad.
- 1:19:37It's awesome. It's like pretty great, but it
- 1:19:40is pretty easy to just have somebody tell you it's really
- 1:19:43hard and there's there's no way to dig out of it.
- 1:19:46It is hard. It's freaking hard.
- 1:19:48It's hard to be a man. It's hard to generate revenue.
- 1:19:50It's hard to run a business, it's hard to live with a woman,
- 1:19:55it's hard to raise kids, it's hard not to self destruct, and
- 1:19:59it's just freaking hard. It is, and it's awesome.
- 1:20:04So worthwhile. And there are problems.
- 1:20:06And bitching isn't a solution. Working, acting, fighting
- 1:20:12gravity. That's a solution. 100% And
- 1:20:15that, that's the thing it's, it's easy to sit and not not
- 1:20:19start climbing the mountain and listen to that and play video
- 1:20:22games and just check out and you feel justified.
- 1:20:26But when you're 40 and wifeless, you, you regret not starting to
- 1:20:31climb that mountain. And it it does take just putting
- 1:20:34a foot in front of the other showing up to that church.
- 1:20:37Oh man, I don't have any friends.
- 1:20:38Show up to their men's group, show up again, show up again.
- 1:20:41Oh, there's an opportunity to serve.
- 1:20:43Oh, that that single mom's car just broke down.
- 1:20:45Let me go help. Like what are the ways you can
- 1:20:48get involved in and build character, develop character and
- 1:20:51be a good man And God will bless that.
- 1:20:53There's very few guys getting activated in the church that are
- 1:20:56young men. God, God pours out grace on that
- 1:20:59and he, he will bring your wife into your life like he will
- 1:21:02bring a great job. He will bring the things that
- 1:21:04you need. You're stewarding what He's
- 1:21:06giving you right here. Your dominion currently, and
- 1:21:09maybe it's a small dominion, but start having dominion over it.
- 1:21:12Yeah. And in close to this, like, you
- 1:21:14know, the New Testament is written to people who didn't
- 1:21:16know what was going on in the world.
- 1:21:20They didn't travel. They didn't have media, They
- 1:21:22didn't have social media. So what did they concern
- 1:21:26themselves with? Hyperlocal matters.
- 1:21:28Yep. Because that's all they had and
- 1:21:30that's all they knew. And honestly, at least for a
- 1:21:34season for many people it wouldn't be bad to just limit
- 1:21:38the scope of information and focus to just what is
- 1:21:42hyperlocal. And that's that's the for all of
- 1:21:46human history, people have had it off pretty bad.
- 1:21:48That's why I bring up the Great Depression.
- 1:21:50Men couldn't control anything else other than who are you
- 1:21:53going to be? How are you going to show up
- 1:21:56locally with your family, with your job, and are you going to
- 1:22:00make a difference? So I totally agree.
- 1:22:02I think we're way too connected to the world.
- 1:22:04I don't think any of us in this room have anything to do with
- 1:22:07the Epstein files like I that we can't affect what the president
- 1:22:10does or the next president or Congress or anything.
- 1:22:14But we can love our wife, we can love our kids, we can build
- 1:22:17wealth for the future. That that that's what we can do.
- 1:22:20We can serve at our church. We can give generously.
- 1:22:23And it, like you said, that's the stuff we'll give an account
- 1:22:25for. And I think that's spot on.
- 1:22:27And that's where the joy is. What makes a man angry is he
- 1:22:30sees things that are wrong and they're out of this control.
- 1:22:33So OK, problem agreed. Solution is what can you do then
- 1:22:39do that? The solution doesn't sell.
- 1:22:42No, the solution is hard. The solution is very hard, but
- 1:22:46it gets easier when you when you just start getting momentum in
- 1:22:49that direction, all of a sudden things start coming together.
- 1:22:52Well, God puts grace on it. For the young men watching the
- 1:22:55show, you want to pray over them and close us out.
- 1:22:57Yeah, Lord, to some degree we understand the anger and the
- 1:23:01frustration and, and part, Lord, because there's a whole group of
- 1:23:05young men who surge to conservatism and surge to the
- 1:23:09polls. And they were told that some
- 1:23:11things were going to happen domestically and that certain
- 1:23:13things wouldn't happen internationally.
- 1:23:17And, and Lord, there's a frustration because they're not
- 1:23:20seeing the return on investment for their vote.
- 1:23:25But Lord, we know, we know that this is a broken, flawed world.
- 1:23:30We know that there is only one absolutely perfect, truthful
- 1:23:35leader and his name is Jesus Christ.
- 1:23:38We know that Lord God government makes promises that it can't
- 1:23:42deliver. And we know that that'll be the
- 1:23:44case until the Lord Jesus comes back and we have his Kingdom.
- 1:23:48And so, Lord, I pray for all the young men, for those who are
- 1:23:51discouraged, God ask in Jesus name that you would pour some
- 1:23:55courage into them to get started, to get activated.
- 1:23:58Lord, for those who are just angry and frustrated, I pray
- 1:24:01they would take that energy and that they would put it toward a
- 1:24:04positive outcome and solution to get moving on life for
- 1:24:08themselves and for their family and for their legacy.
- 1:24:12And Lord, guys for the guys who are in it, they're trying to
- 1:24:15work their jobs, start their company, love their wife, raise
- 1:24:18their kids, pay their bills, you know, buy their house.
- 1:24:23Lord, I pray that the words of Paul would ring true to do not
- 1:24:26grow weary and going good. And so Lord, thank you that you
- 1:24:31put a load on us. As I've always said, men Dr.
- 1:24:33straighter with a load. And so, Lord, I pray that these
- 1:24:36young men would load themselves up with responsibility in Jesus
- 1:24:39name, Amen. Amen.
