It's still welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition mister A Realta Show EPISOD
0:21
number seven, nineteen November twenty third, twenty twenty three. This is your
0:26
aw Pole Deer Recap and w WEE sur Robert Series, more Games, the
0:29
Review and for addictions edition of ass R Team You. I am One Apple
0:36
the Show. I Am Jack Peck joined every single week on call with Tomorrow
0:40
on the Doctor Trey Franklin, Doctor Trey, Happy Thanksgiving, my Friend.
0:46
Okay, you went with the most basic. I thought you're gonna ask me
0:51
if I've ever drank somebody's blood. I thought You're gonna asking if I've ever
0:55
worn a devil's mask. I thought you were asking if if I hear voices
0:59
in my head? And you went with Happy Thanksgiving with Jeff, Happy thanks
1:03
my friend, Happy Thanksgiving. You know, I think any other week I
1:07
would have absolutely opened up with something along those lines. I like the Hangman
1:12
page reference that you started off with because it freaked the hell out of me
1:15
on Saturday night. But yeah, this is it's this is one of those
1:22
shows we've done now for thirteen years of SRTU, starting off in twenty ten
1:27
and once we switched over from Saturday to Thursdays, we have always done a
1:33
Thanksgiving show. I've always said, if you need to get away from family
1:36
for a little bit and you want to listen to two guys talk about professional
1:38
wrestling for forty minutes to an hour, this is your cup of tea right
1:42
now. And I don't know. This has always been like a good catapult
1:47
for me for the Thanksgiving holiday, get the holiday season going, and slowly
1:53
whine down the year. So I'm in a good festive holiday mood, doctor
1:57
Tree, because it's one of my favorite, if not my favorite holiday now,
2:00
Thanksgiving. And it's weird how we have it's everything's progressed as we lounch
2:06
the show because for a while, Survivor series kind of became an afterthought for
2:09
a little while, Like when the show first started, like that we weren't
2:13
doing anything, you know, we didn't have war games, we weren't doing
2:15
like we already had a battleground show, so it wasn't really brand bursts brand.
2:20
It was kind of almost you know, Survivor Seris was having left in
2:23
the background, and none of the other brands were really doing big Thanksgiving shows,
2:28
so we would do our favorite tag teams or our best of our favorite
2:32
Thanksgiving moments or things like that. So and then now we live in a
2:37
world where it was like, oh, there's like four big there's all these
2:40
companies running all these big wrestling shows on right around Thanksgiving. So we don't
2:46
get to tell the fans the top five things that wrestling we're most thankful for
2:51
because we have excuse me, preview up, the adictions and recaps. I'm
2:57
so sorry about that. By bad like we talked about off air, but
3:02
there's always recaps, previous predictions, everything else, and was I started to
3:06
catch up the Jeff so he doesn't make me say this year, which he
3:09
forgot about last year. So yeah, it's totally fine. It's we've kind
3:13
of gone past it. I feel like we've been done that last like the
3:15
three years of doing the prediction stuff and more or less just now something we
3:19
can keep track of and has some fun. But yeah, I mean doctor
3:21
Trey doing a ton of callbacks to I remember like five things that we were
3:24
thankful for in professional wrestling that wasn't always a good show to put in the
3:30
books for Thanksgiving or you know, things that are tied to Thanksgiving as wrestling
3:35
fans, I always remember us telling the stories of for me, like Survivor
3:39
Series ninety three was one of those shows that got me into professional wrestling.
3:45
And how much you know Thanksgiving holiday was a big wrestling holiday, like they
3:51
would do Survivor Series on Thanksgiving. Doctor Trey talking about watching wrestling with his
3:57
grandmother, you know, during the Thanksgiving holidays, Like it's it's stuff like
4:00
that that ties us all into this holiday professional Wrestlane. But like Doctor Trey
4:06
said, there is a ton of stuff going on professional wrest right now sandwiched
4:11
in between like a good Thanksgiving leftover. On Friday afternoon, two major pay
4:16
per views from two different major United States companies. Let's start with aw full
4:21
gear recap review. Doctor Trade came to us this past Saturday from the Key
4:25
Of Forum in Inglewood, California. We had three pre show matches, the
4:30
first being Eddie Kingston defeeding Jay Lethal to retain the ROH World Championship. We
4:35
did not predict this one. This actually had a storyline leading into it,
4:39
which is pretty cool to see, which is a theme for this entire show.
4:43
I want to preface this all by saying that this was one of the
4:46
better creatively booked shows that AW has done in some time, because there was
4:51
a storyline tied to every single match, which there are times that AW does
4:57
not do that. They just throw matches together and it makes you scratch you
5:00
had, It makes you go like, why should I give a shit?
5:01
So I want to preface it by saying that ed even with the pre show,
5:04
I'm not a fan of ROH World CHAMPIONSIP being on the pre show zero
5:08
Hour, but nonetheless, Eddie Kingston defeats Jay Lethal in a good, solid
5:12
match what you expect from Kingston and Lethal, and it was an enjoyable start
5:15
to the pre show Doctor Trey. Yeah, and even having a stokely Hathaway
5:18
on commentary to help even build the story up even more as him being part
5:23
of the board of director's for Ring of Honor, which I didn't know that
5:26
was a thing, So it was nice. But yeah, it was a
5:30
fun match. The only my only issue, and it's not with the match,
5:32
it's kind of with the Continental Classic is after the match, Eddie Kingson
5:39
threw his name in a half for that and now we're talking about the American
5:42
Triple Crown Champion. I'm like, doesn't that then devalue the Ring of Honor
5:46
title if this guy's willing to risk it to become the Continental Champion, Like,
5:51
does that put that title even lower on the mantle. But that's just
5:56
me being nitpicky about the hierarchy of professional wrestling titles is just ridiculous anyway.
6:00
But the match yourself, it's fine. It was solid. You got to
6:02
see you know, Stanham saying try to do the strut, which I thought
6:08
was kind of was cute, but overall solid match which you would expect from
6:13
two guys like Eddie Kingston and Jay Lethal. Yeah. I mean, there's
6:16
so much to discuss there, the way that roh has been booked under Tony
6:19
Kahan's ownership, even the Continental Championship, which when they first announced the Continental
6:27
Classic, I was like, oh, this is pretty cool, and I
6:29
thought that somebody was just getting in a championship like trophy like they do for
6:32
the owen Hart Cup. But then when I've realized that it was another championship
6:38
being added to aw that could be a show in itself. But I'm gonna
6:41
digress from that right now and just get to the next match, which is
6:44
Claudio cast and only defeating Buddy Murphy. We did not predict that one as
6:46
well. My only issue with this match is that Claudio and Buddy should be
6:49
on the main show, another enjoyable pre show match on zero hour Doctor try
6:56
Yeah, and then you're watching a matching man. Why didn't WW do this
6:59
do this match more often for these two guys, because, I mean,
7:02
we all know Claudio. Claudio is the modern to me, is the modern
7:05
day Lance Storm, like Lancethorm, a guy that, if you watch him
7:09
wrestle, should have been a world champion multiple times, and just because of
7:13
perceived promo skills or whatever, never got to that level. And then Buddy
7:17
Matthews watching him work a singles match, you forget how good he is and
7:23
how impressed with an athlete he is. So this was a really solid match
7:27
up team two. I don't want to say young guys, because both these
7:30
guys are ten fifteen, twenty year vets but maybe underappreciated talents in the world
7:34
of professional wrestling. But like you said, like this could have been a
7:40
main show card any other time. And also, you know what a four
7:46
day build up to it? What? You know? It's it was a
7:47
storyline, but it was a short storyline to get to the match, but
7:50
the little bump at the end of the match sets it up so that maybe
7:54
we get House of Black versus Blackpoole Combat Club, which that will be really
7:58
fun. Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of good stuff going on there
8:01
that can come from this match. And again, like it was a zero
8:05
R match, I was happy because it was free. And then the next
8:07
match here, MJF and samoo Jo defeated Guns to retain the ROH World Tig
8:11
Team Championship. This was the only match going into it that we did predict
8:15
on zero hours and we both at MGF and samo Joe. I thought the
8:18
match was fine and it helped set up the main show with the Andrey angle
8:20
with MJF postmatch. My problem with this though, was I thought Samojo was
8:26
going to be a friend to MJF until his title match and not just the
8:30
tag team match the defendent titles at full gear. So the explanation of like
8:33
I'm gonna protect you was confusing because I would have figured that Samojo would have
8:37
come down, out, come out to make the save. That's being a
8:41
nitpicky to me, and I don't know if this resonated with you, Doctor
8:46
Trey. I had a lot of old school late nineties Sunday Night Heat vibes
8:52
where WWE would have Sunday Night Heat before the pay per view and they would
8:56
run an angle that made sense and carried itself through the rest of the pay
9:00
per view. And that's what this did. Being nitpicky on the Samo Joe
9:03
stuff aside, the storyline of mgf's injury going into the main show was really
9:09
well done and really well executed. I did have a funny like haha moment
9:16
that I'm sure has been picked up on Twitter. I really don't go on
9:18
that platform anymore. But at the end of Zero Hour, where Adam Cole
9:24
is saying to himself, like what am I going to do? He said
9:26
it twice and they panned back and you could see the backstage area behind Adam
9:33
Cole and who's walking down the steps, but one of the guns it looked
9:35
like Austin gun. I'm like, oh shit that if you go back and
9:39
watch Zero Hour unless they've edited out, I thought that was a very funny
9:43
thing. You could see clearly see the tights of one of the guns,
9:46
and you know, just to spend my disbelief. Nonetheless, match was fine.
9:52
Samoa Joe angle was confusing. The injury angle was really well done.
9:58
Doctor Treer thoughts, Yeah, my only issue with it is, you know,
10:01
you're building up You've been building up bullet Clip Gold to be like this
10:05
dominant, you know, pretty strong fashion. I kind of wanted the Guns
10:11
to have I don't want to say a little bit, and maybe they got
10:13
enough. I just felt like they didn't look strong enough in the match,
10:18
and then they got their payback on the post match beating down. I'm with
10:20
you. It confused me because they kept saying that Joe is helping MJF so
10:26
that he can get a shot at MJF, you know, and that's how
10:30
much. But that made me think that if Jay White won, Joe doesn't
10:33
get a shot, and then so then why wouldn't Joe run into make the
10:39
save when the Guns are beating down MJF. Because by weakening MJF, Joe
10:43
might be losing his title shots. So that's why I got confused with it,
10:48
and I was like, well, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
10:50
And then like I think, like the injury angle, like you said,
10:54
like that was old school, like we're going to tie this into the
10:56
pay per view later tonight. Then you know, just MJF on the stretcher
11:01
begged, don't let them take my title. Don't let them take my title,
11:05
And I don't know about you. I was confused when MZF came down
11:07
with only one Ring of Honor Tag Team title belt, because I was like,
11:11
well, that just gives it away that the Guns aren't winning, because
11:15
then you got to go track down the other belt to award it all.
11:18
So that was also like just a little nitpiggy pin. But overall, like
11:22
the match was good. I just wish the Guns had a little bit more
11:24
offense. But that's also because right now, I think you and I can
11:26
both agree that we're both kind of guns marks right now because they're very very
11:30
entertaining. They have been very very entertaining. They've really grown on me as
11:33
the time has gone on. Onto the main show. Here, Sting Darby
11:37
Allen, Adam Copeland defeat Christian Cage, Lucasaurce and Nick Wayne. We had
11:41
Sting's team both predicted to win. Nice opener to kick off the show.
11:45
The crowd was really excited for this one and behind the match throughout I'm intrigued
11:48
to see where Christian accidentally hitting Lucasaurs with the T and T Championship and then
11:52
leaving them behind will play out moving forward. A Lucasaurus face turn feels like
11:56
it's coming sooner rather than later. Let me preface again by saying, Doctor
12:01
treynar recording this Tuesday night of Thanksgiving week. This show will probably be made
12:07
available on Wednesday, So obviously Doctor Trannon are not watching ton of Mine on
12:11
Wednesday night to see if there is any follow up from anything in aw Nonetheless,
12:15
Doctor Trey Sting, Darby, Adam Copland get the victory. You got
12:18
Adam Copeland in face paint as well, Like that was a nice little touch
12:22
that reminded me of the old school NWAWCW, the dudes with attitudes or you
12:28
know Sting's squadron, you know, and all the guys that do the face
12:33
paint. That was a little bit homage to the throwback. The match himself
12:37
was fine, nothing shocking or surprising other than you know, the Lucasaurus bump
12:41
and then Christian walking out, by the way, what a great name for
12:45
a stable the patriarchy. That was great, and that was like a little
12:48
throwaway line that I think Nigel said towards the end of the match, like
12:52
you know, what's Christia's cage would do with him walking out of the patriarchy.
12:54
I was like, Oh, if that's a stable name, that's great.
12:58
I love that it was on the Titan tron. See I'm watching it
13:03
from my phone, so I couldn't see some of the finer like the smaller
13:07
print stuff. So that was my That was my issue because I had to
13:11
watch it that such a small screen. So but I love that it's great
13:13
name. So and then why nobody canna be that name in all these years
13:18
of professional wrestling baffles me. So I don't know if it's I don't know
13:22
if we've got enough lucassaurus abuse to really dive into a full flinched face turn,
13:28
because maybe his face turn is still a little too early considering his heel
13:33
turn wasn't that long ago, so I still think people picture him as a
13:37
baby face at time. So I think we need a little bit more of
13:41
you. You have to, you have to really really abuse the monster before
13:45
the monster turns to go off on his own, so that it's can vibes
13:48
right, Yeah, yeah, it really is but it's like you got to
13:52
beat on the monster more and more and make it more sympathetic. And I
13:54
don't think we've got to the point where we feel bad for Lucasaurus yet.
13:58
I think it's getting there. I think it's getting there, though, Doctor
14:00
Try I do. I mean that choke slam onto the apron of Darby Allen,
14:03
I'm like, I don't know. I think it feels bad for that
14:05
guy that just literally tossed Darby like he was like a second potatoes. All
14:09
it takes is like a really shitty heel, which Christian is though, or
14:13
just like light them on fire. Sure gues you could do that too,
14:16
and it always gets people sympathetic. Next match is Orange Casside defeating John Moxley
14:22
to retain the aw International Championship. John Moxley, I had doctor trade Orange
14:26
Cassidy. Fantastic match. I really enjoy seeing that. The dynamic that Moxley
14:31
brings out a whole new side of Orange Cassady we typically never see. Cassidy
14:35
going over clean on mox is a huge deal and well deserved for one of
14:37
the best wrestlers this year in Orange Cassidy, Big Winford. Orange Cassidy Doctor
14:43
Tracy defeats John Moxley. Yeah, and I love the way they booked it
14:46
because you know Orange starting off strong and Moxley no selling it and then Moxley
14:52
basically beating his ass for most of the match until you got the comeback.
14:56
But then you thought you thought Ornge got the desperation in Cassidy get to win,
14:58
like busting out red Rum, you know, throwing what like's like five
15:03
or six Orange punches in a row and try and put Moxley down. Like
15:07
it was a really compelling match. But also it just shows that Max is
15:09
one of those guys that goes, hey, we need to elevate this guy,
15:13
and the only way we can do it is make him give him depth
15:16
to the character. We have to make him look that he can pull out
15:18
the more physical side of his character. I also love Moxton Hawking is the
15:26
Orch Cakes as well, Like that was kind of funny too. So overall,
15:30
like really really good match, really strong match, and it sets up
15:33
Orch Cassidy for another strong run and the now can move mox Claudio and Wheeler
15:37
over to the Black cool comback, I mean over the House of Black if
15:39
you want to go that round One of my favorite things about professional wrestling is
15:43
when you see an established star and there's no title that there is a title,
15:46
whatever the case may be, is in the background, but you see
15:50
an established star helping elevate a star that you feel like, as a wrestling
15:54
fan, could use some elevation. You saw that with the Moxley Orange Cassidy
16:00
feud. You see it later on with Hangman at a Page getting more out
16:04
of Swerve Strickland. You're seeing it in WWE right now, like very subtly.
16:08
One of my favorite things in wrestling right now is these random Becky Lynch
16:12
feuds where she's feuding with Tiagan Knox, she's feuding with Lyra Valkyrie, she's
16:18
feuding with Zaia Lee and elevating their games. And that's what Moxley did.
16:22
I really enjoy that aspect of professional wrestling when these established stars helped put over
16:26
new talent to create new stars, and that's like the circle of life per
16:32
se in professional wrestling. That's what we saw this past Saturday night with John
16:36
Moxley taking the l against Orange Cassidy. Next match here is timeless Tony Storm
16:41
defeating Karloshita to win the aw Women's World Championship. We both had time with
16:45
Tony Storm. I feel bad for Shida because her last two title reigns have
16:48
been met, but the decision to put the title on Tony makes sense,
16:52
as she has so much momento and popularity lately. The finish was clunky and
16:56
the match was fine, but they had a tough act following Cassidy. You
17:00
know, she tried to put that pan down her I can't believe I'm saying
17:03
this down her pants to do the hip attack, and even the announcers were
17:07
laughing because she was having like wardrobe malfunctions. And then she'd went in the
17:11
corner. Tony went halfway, then went back and then did the hip attack.
17:15
It was very clunky but timeless. Tony Storms our new aw Women's World
17:19
Champion. Doctor Trey. Yeah, not to mention when when Aubrey's counting the
17:22
pinfall, her head is literally eight inches from the plate coming out of Tony
17:27
Storm's bridges, as a Tas alluded to on the call. Yeah, the
17:33
match yourself was The match yourself was decent. It's just the finish got really
17:37
clucking. Cat took it away, and you know, this is this is
17:41
match and the response to Timeless Tony Storm is one of those things I point
17:45
out to young wrestlers who don't like gimmicks Like Tony Storm. You and I
17:52
loved her in the May Young Classic through entire run, and it's this gimmick
17:59
that has get Hurt to another level. And then you look at some of
18:02
the like the you know, some of the people, we're like, you
18:03
know, we miss bray White. It was the bray White gimmick. They
18:07
gotta bo I'm gonna take this gimmick. Gotamo with these these crazy gimmicks that
18:10
can establish another depth of the character, helps elevate the game, and it
18:15
stands out because it's so different from what everybody else is doing. So in
18:21
a world like AW or in the Superindependence where everybody's five ten, one hundred
18:25
and ninety five pounds, sometimes you got to think outside of the box to
18:27
really get a good crowd response. So I applaud Tony Storm for taking a
18:32
risk because it's such a divergent character for what she's done for pretty much her
18:37
entire career. But she's making it work and it's being very very successful.
18:41
So outside of the Klucky Fish, I'm just happy for Tony Storm. And
18:45
getting this character over. Next match here was Ricky Starks and Big Bill defeating
18:48
LFI FTR and The King of the Black Throne and a four way tag team
18:52
match, retaining aw World Tag Team Championship. I'm Ricky Starks, a Big
18:56
Bill dot Trade FDR great. My only negative feedback is I think rustling fans
19:02
are spoiled with the amount of tag team ladder matches we have seen the last
19:06
twenty to twenty five years, which makes it harder to do anything we haven't
19:08
seen before. Nonetheless, all eight men brought it and put on a great,
19:12
heart hitting show for the fans on Saturday night. Ricky Stark's a Big
19:15
Bell retaining made sense to me because then they needed a win like this for
19:19
their title rate to continue growing. Doctor Trey, your thoughts on the fatal
19:22
four way ladder match, Yeah, it's it's you're getting into the spots and
19:27
wrestling where you're like, is anything or like to me, the most original
19:30
spot in the entire match was just Malachi Black flipping the ladder back in the
19:37
in the cash wheeler, like I'm like, oh crap, I've never seen
19:40
somebody use the rope kind of like in that manner to the springboard the ladder
19:42
back into somebody you know, but like you know, you see Brody Kane
19:47
do that big godz obamb of Dealstico on the ladder and you're just like,
19:51
eh, that look gruff. It's like we are kind of spoiled as to
19:56
what we've seen over the last you know, twenty years when it comes the
19:59
ladder matches. I mean the ladder match was it was good, it was
20:03
solid, it was fun, it was entertaining. It works for Ricky Starks
20:06
in Big Bill, so, like you said, establish their tag team run.
20:10
But as much as I like Ricky Starks in Big Bill, I mean,
20:15
given what happens later in the show, is is a Golden Jet Ricky
20:19
Stark Big Bill match like a money drawing match? Yet I don't know.
20:23
So that's that was kind of why I was leaning towards FDR, just because
20:26
I thought that would be a bigger draw for the tag team division, but
20:30
because I don't I don't really know if you need to keep building up new
20:33
tag teams when you have so much depth in your tag team division. I
20:37
guess it's kind of my thought process. I think at times the tag team
20:41
division doesn't actually get executed correctly in my mind, Yeah, I mean,
20:45
I mean when you look at you look at the card. I mean you
20:48
like, in the last couple of shows, I mean you've had MTF beat
20:52
an established tag team. You dow had MTF and Samoa Joe beat an established
20:56
tag team, Omega and Jericho being established tag team, Ricky Stars and Big
21:02
Bill beat three established tag teams. So these are a lot of these single
21:06
stars being meshed together, and you're kind of diluting your tag team talent by
21:11
doing so. So as much talent as they have, it's these single stars
21:17
thrown together that are kind of dominating the division right now. Next match here
21:21
is Julia Hart defeating Chris Statlander and sky Blue in a triple threat match to
21:25
win the AWTBS Championship. Dot Trannon both had Julie Hard getting the victory.
21:30
Solid triple threat match. Julia Hart and sky Blue have really raised their games
21:33
and characters throughout the year, and Statlander, who is an established starr,
21:36
helped get them over as equals. Again going back to what I said earlier
21:38
in the show with Moxley and Lawrence Cassie. Another example this year with Chris
21:42
Statlander working with sky Blue and Julia Hart. Julia Hart deserves the title as
21:48
she has been very much improved in the ring, but I hate to see
21:49
it come at the hands of Chris Statlander. Maybe this means stat Lander shifts
21:53
are focused on the aw Women's World Championship coming out of this, as she
21:56
didn't take the pin and a Julia Hart sky Blue feud continues forward, Doctor
22:03
Trey, we have a new AWTBS champion and it's Julia Hart. Yeah,
22:07
really happy for I thought the triple threat match was solid. I just I
22:11
don't know. There are points this match where I thought it was like three
22:12
versions of Rhea Ripley fighting each other. I guess, like everybody wants to
22:18
be Gothic or just a badass right now. So like and I was trying
22:22
to figure out the whole You're still trying to figure out the story between sky
22:25
Blue and Julia Hart as well. So I'm with you. I think they
22:30
should move stat Lander up into the main women's picture. Let Julia Hart,
22:33
sky Blue, Willow Nightingale, Red, Velvet Green, Jello, anybody else
22:38
in the vision that they want to throw in there that has a color food
22:41
theme as well. Let them battle it out, let them kind of sort
22:45
their characters out, because to me, the TBS title is your Women's Proving
22:48
Ground Championship and then to move them up into the main picture. So but
22:52
yeah, I'm really happy for Julia Hart because she may have progressed farther in
22:57
a year than I have ever seen any other female wrestler do. Like she
23:02
was god awful with Brian Pillman and Griff Garrison and now I actually enjoy watching
23:07
her work a match. So that's just tremendous progress in twelve to eighteen months
23:14
I've seen somebody do. Oh, she's been fantastic, one of the best
23:18
Moon salts. I like the submission finisher they have there. What is that?
23:23
Is it? Heartless? Heartless? Yes? Yeah, I mean that's
23:26
a great like it's a almost looks like a Rings of Saturn type submission.
23:32
Yeah, she's been really well improved. I'm very happy for Julia Hart winning
23:36
the AWTVS Championship because she deserves it. She's been really really good the last
23:40
couple of months. Newly married also yeah, Lee Johnson, right, yeah,
23:44
yeah, somebody that I've worked a show with got to marry Julia Hart.
23:48
So LEO. Part of me is a little sad. Hey you never
23:52
know does try next match? Here is Swerve Strickland defeat and Hangman Adam Page
23:56
in a Texas death match. We both had Hagman Adam paid to get the
24:00
victory. Doctor Trey, what do you say about this one? It's a
24:03
brutal, violent, legendary masterpiece, A top match in twenty twenty three,
24:10
one of the most memorable AW matches since its inception. This feud has been
24:14
short but extremely good. I didn't think Swerve Strickland could elevate his game,
24:18
but then he does it again and again and again, and then does it
24:22
again. Amazing performance by both men. Have put themselves through that type of
24:26
human mutilation and punishment all for wrestling fans entertainment. There are several spots we
24:32
could sit here and go I can't believe they did this. I can't believe
24:36
they did that. Hangman Page drinking the blood, the barricade, pile driver
24:41
Spot, pouring water over each of their heads so that the blood just like
24:47
dripped like crazy off of their heads. What a match, Doctor Trey.
24:52
Swerve Strickland, Hangman had a Page. If they don't get a standing ovation
24:56
on Dynamite on Wednesday night. Then I don't know what's wrong with this wrestling
24:59
fan them? Can this be Few to the year already? I mean,
25:03
it's like jumped up so much. I mean in a short amount of time.
25:11
I mean, I don't know if we've ever seen a few go from
25:14
like zero to a thousand this quickly. I mean, and even even the
25:18
even the Wrestle Dream match what maybe what didn't have the blood but was so
25:23
hard hitting and so just action packed like these guys. The chemistry these two
25:29
have pull off in such a short amount of time is incredible. I was
25:33
waiting to hear your evaluation of the match because I've seen people knock this match
25:37
because of the one spot, and I'm like, you take out the blood
25:42
drinking spot, which I mean for all for health reasons, maybe isn't the
25:48
best thing in the world, but you know this match is not good for
25:52
health reasons, doctor try yeah, But you know, like everything else in
25:56
this match was like incredible and hard hitting and you could feel the intensity.
26:02
And you know, my only knock on this match wasn't even the bloodering spot.
26:07
By the my knockings match is if either of these guys ever lose a
26:08
match, cleanly in under twelve minutes. I'm gonna be like, what the
26:12
hell, Like you've got staple barbed wired like you know, pile driven on
26:18
a guard rail, took three buckshot lariats in a top rope detta Like you
26:23
took all these things, they still kept fitting up and you know you're gonna
26:27
get schoolboy Robot can't kick out, Like but you haven't. These guys better
26:32
lose when he makes like four or five months Like It's just it was that
26:36
level of almost insanity. It's like I I it's redefined the genre of what
26:44
death I don't say death match wrestling because I don't put it in the same
26:48
grouping as like some of those GCW guys do, like the God Bless Him.
26:55
I love the death He's a good friend of mine, John White,
26:56
Burdock's in the world and Nick gage Is. I don't classify this match in
27:02
that light. To me, this is the old school versions of like the
27:07
Dusty Rose totally blanded, I quit matches and just with a modern twist on
27:12
it. Like it was brutal, it was physical, You felt the intensity.
27:18
It suspended your disbelief because you wanted to see Hangman beat the hell at
27:22
a swerve for the home invasion Agle, Like all the stuff came together and
27:26
like this little perfect storm for this match, and I the part of me
27:30
worries that it may be remembered for the blood drinking spot and not the intensity
27:36
and the violence of the tortality that the other you know, twenty seven minutes
27:41
of smash brought. Yeah, this is it's a memorable match. Yeah,
27:48
does it get It gets brutal, right, it gets violent, and sometimes
27:52
AW pushes the envelope a little bit too much, but I think you just
27:56
kind of come used to it, right. I'm It's not my type of
28:00
wrestling, but I respect it a lot ultimately, and I respect this match
28:04
and I do think it's a top match in twenty twenty three. See what's
28:10
weird as you go back to was it mox Ley Omega when they had the
28:14
uh the Pepaisan chair of barb Wire, you know, remether one to talk
28:18
about like that spiral. Yeah, it's like those matches felt like they did
28:23
shit for the sake of doing stuff, where this match, with the way
28:29
they presented it with the homeanvaate. Look if some guy walked into my house
28:33
while I was at work, and was standing over little Samy Franklin and talking
28:37
shit like, yeah, I'm gonna try to kill the guy, and that
28:41
match. Because of that angle, it led to this match, and it
28:44
made sense. So the brutality was not for the sake of brutality, but
28:48
it was brutality for the stake of the storyline. And it reminded me of
28:53
those action movies where the bad guy kills you know, John Wick's dog and
28:57
John Wick goes on a rampage or spoiler alert, we're supposed to do that.
29:02
You know that, I know, but I think we're on John Wick
29:03
six now, so I think it's okay to spoil one. Oh fair.
29:07
But it's like it's those old school action movies where something the villain does something
29:11
to the guy's family and that guy goes on a rampage that gives revenge.
29:17
So it was it's violence and brutality for the sake of the story, which
29:21
in this light makes sense, where some of these other death matches we've seen
29:25
it's been brutality for the sake of brutality or violence for the sake of violence,
29:29
which to me, it diminishes this genre. No, it's it's a
29:33
fair, it's it's fair. I get what you're saying. It's fair.
29:38
Still very memorable, memorable match. It reminds me of those old I Quip
29:42
matches, the old bull Rump matches when there was a long, lengthy feud
29:47
and this was the way to blow it off. And those guys made you
29:51
feel like they were literally trying to kill each other because of all the crap
29:53
they've done to each other building up to it. It's just this, they
29:56
condensed it down to like a two month period instead of six months or nine
30:02
months like we used to do back in the old AWA W c W.
30:07
I'm the match was surprising. I thought the result was more surprising. I
30:11
did not foresee Swerve Strickland going to Zo on Hangman page in this feud.
30:15
No, I really didn't either, especially when it's a Texas death match.
30:18
But then, you know, getting Brian Cage involved, getting No involved kind
30:23
of helped sell the finish because Nagas say they like Swerve one because of the
30:30
help of Nana in Cage and it doesn't diminish Hangman too much. And then
30:37
Hangman getting hung to finish the match was kind of cool as well. Mm
30:42
hmm. Yeah, really well, really well done match for Strickland defeating Hangman
30:47
Adam Page. Next match, year's the Golden Jets of feeding the Young Bucks
30:51
as they get the Young Bucks aw tag team title shot. We both have
30:53
thek Golden Jets getting the victory. Good storytelling throughout this match. They had
30:56
a tough act to follow with Swerve and Hangman and did a good job.
31:00
Still, I'm interest to see where things go with the Young Bucks after their
31:03
post match meltdown. As reporters are staying there do for a heel turn along
31:07
with Brandon Cutler, who has been their mouthpiece online since the match took place,
31:11
and one on other one other unnamed personality, uh doctor, try the
31:15
gold and Jets get the victory. Yeah, not to me, This was
31:19
not a surprising finish, although I do like my storyline idea that the Kenny
31:26
and Chris would just tag up at random Canadian shows and then the Bucks were
31:30
like searching the Internet to try to find videos so they can take him to
31:33
Quarter or something for it. But yeah, like, I don't know,
31:37
the match was good, but maybe as expecting a little bit more because it
31:41
is four of the best wrestlers in the world. I thought it was I
31:47
thought it was good, but maybe I was just thing a little bit more.
31:49
But having Dog calls on commentary also helped because he's like, You're like,
31:55
just say to the guy, You're like, yeah, I really just
31:56
want anybody to win other than Doug Kallaus. So I thought it was good
32:00
and it'll be interesting for progressing because there's you know, when when does Kenny
32:06
and Chris cash in, it does callous cost of the tag bells or is
32:09
callous at starts at Big Bill into the Doug Kallas family because he does like
32:14
he taking on uh people, parked Tide in that family role as well.
32:20
And then finally here the main event, MJF defeats Jay White to win the
32:23
AW World Championship. MGF was our pick for both from both of us in
32:28
this match. I really enjoyed how the storyline played out from the zero hour
32:31
pre show throughout the show up until the main event, with the MGF injury
32:35
angle and Adam Cole filling in. At one point it was changed to Adam
32:37
Cole versus Jay White, which was a nice little touch. The match itself
32:43
was slow building, but the final ten minutes were really good. It's funny
32:45
to see MGF acting like an eighties baby face at times, but he overcomes
32:49
adversity by going back to his scumbag ways by cheating with the dynamite diamond ring
32:53
to get the pin on Jay White. MGF reportedly hurt his shoulder and also
33:00
dislocated his hip that needed to be popped back in after the failed announce your
33:05
table spot elbow dropped from the top rope. Do't try your thoughts here.
33:09
MJF defeats Jay White to retain the aw World Championship. So the matches up.
33:16
When you said disokay, I thought you were saying he dislocated the pre
33:19
show out when he did hit the recruit hip gride, like that would be
33:22
a great way. Like it's like it the way an old lady pops a
33:24
hip, you know she us emulated recruited. The hip just goes out.
33:28
But like the matches up. I thought it was great old school storytelling,
33:30
like you have an injury, you're selling the injury. I do like this
33:35
weird, Like half the match, MJF is whole Cogan and then the second
33:40
half of the match he turns into Rick Clair, Like yeah, the eighties
33:44
baby face and then the eighties scumbag heel. By the end, it's like
33:49
it's almost like he's having this like devil in Angel battle on his shoulders,
33:53
deciding how he wins the match. The only thing I didn't like was the
33:58
Adam Cole like, oh, we're gonna have an Adam Cole j White match,
34:02
Like I didn't think you needed to do that, Like you could have.
34:06
You could have done it mister Miyagi Daniel LaRusso style, where like you
34:09
know they're about to award the belt to Jay White and you know, Adam
34:14
Cole comes rushing out and like, no, m JFF wants to fight.
34:17
M JFF wants to fight, and JAFF wants to fight, and you could
34:21
have done that whole thing. It would tied into the eighties thingue. But
34:23
like the illusion that you were to have Adam Cole actually get into a match
34:28
I thought was kind of just dumb. And why the heck if he's getting
34:32
into the ring, is britt Baker not running out to protect her husband from
34:36
doing something so stupid us well, fiance, no, not even doctor Tree.
34:42
We've been down this road. We've tried talking to Adam about this.
34:45
Oh I missed it, My bad. Now this is awkward. I hope
34:50
she's not listening. No, no, Nonetheless, M Jeff retains and it's
34:54
still the EWE World Champion. I went seven and two, Doctor treit went
34:59
seven two. In our predictions, I'm at one fifteen and forty one Doctor
35:02
Trey, one O eight and forty eight. Event rating match the night I
35:07
gave full gear of four point three. I thought it was a very very
35:09
solid and fun and entertaining show. And my match the night Doctor Tray Swart
35:14
Strickling hanging out a page I was at. I was at a four to
35:17
four, so I was a little bit ahead of you. And the only
35:21
reason I didn't go higher was because after four and a half almost five hours,
35:23
I was kind of burning out. Yeah no, rightfully, So I
35:28
mean, how is it zero hour? If it last ninety minutes, it's
35:32
not an hour, then it's zero ninety or whatever. But yeah, my
35:37
imagine that I was also Swerve in the Hangman page. That's that's gonna be
35:40
like when we have great pay per views, there's always that one match that's
35:44
going to stand out and will remember this match at five or ten years,
35:47
which makes it stand out even more. Yeah, No, it was.
35:51
It was amazing to both of us giving the show very high hopes. You
35:54
know what's funny about everything, Doctor Trey collectively. I want to go back
35:58
to what I said in the beginning of the show, where I want to
36:00
give AW their flowers that I thought this was one of the best creatively built
36:04
shows that they've done in a while, and it showed, and then it
36:07
was executed very well on Saturday Night, which obviously gets you excited with AW
36:13
because it's had its peaks and valleys throughout all of twenty twenty three, and
36:16
hopefully they continue to ride this wave because last couple of shows that they've done
36:21
for paper views have been very good from all out, all in Wrestle Dream,
36:24
Full Gear. I think Full Gear to me is probably their best show
36:30
that I've seen in twenty twenty three. Actually, I'm gonna check real quick
36:34
if that actually is. I know it's my highest rated one Revolution was four
36:39
point two three point nine from You and I, three point six to three
36:43
point seven for Ben Door, four point zero three point eight all In,
36:46
four point four from me, four point one from you All Out, three
36:51
point nine from me, four point one from you, four point one,
36:53
four point two from Wressel Dream and so Full Gear is your highest rate show
37:00
and mine is still aw all in which which doesn't make sense. I did
37:06
love that show, but Full Gear to me is like neck and neck with
37:08
that show. Yeah, it just I just feel like they had a really
37:15
good creative build towards it. But here's the conundrum I have to wrap this
37:21
all up with Full Gear is I thought Dynamite and Collision and Rampage shows like
37:27
individually or whatever, like they lack the enthusiasm and the excitement that they used
37:36
to have, which makes those shows like at times hard to go through.
37:39
But then there's like these little subtleties and it builds to a bigger story which
37:43
then leads to the pay per view very well. But I just feel like
37:45
Dynamite, Rampage Collision have not been that great lately, which is kind of
37:51
strange because the creative going to the show made sense. The show is well
37:54
executed, the pay per views have been very well executed, but the weekly
37:58
programming to me kind kind of isn't where I'd like it to be as an
38:01
AW fan. Does that make sense? Yeah, because I think one of
38:05
my issues with the TV shows is they're not built like TV shows like there's
38:10
not the cliffhanger, there's not the the reason to tune in, Like where
38:16
they place the matches on the TV shows doesn't really match where they're going to
38:22
place it on the pay per view card, and they don't put the same
38:29
behind like ww's first match of the night or their main event or use their
38:32
two biggest matches. It's usually one of the world title matches kicking off the
38:36
show and then the other one's closing the show. So when they build those
38:38
shows those shows, those matches are still featured in the main event of their
38:44
respective shows, and so you understand the importance behind it, where you know,
38:49
you may have the MJF segment you know early in the show, and
38:53
then when you get to the you know therese like, well it is the
38:57
MJF stuff with Roderick and Adam, and they white more important or less important.
39:01
If you have Tony Storm and Hikishida closing out of store, like their
39:07
structure is still in flux with their television shows, and then it kind of
39:12
lessens the importance because with RAW or Smacked Down or NXT, there's like a
39:16
build up to get to the close of the show, whereas think sometimes ADEW
39:22
almost books it backwards, where they're starting high and then finishing low, if
39:25
that makes sense. No, I hear what you're saying. Yeah, I
39:30
think if they got the weekly programming a little bit more fine tuned, I
39:34
think AW would be rolling again. But I will say late twenty twenty three,
39:38
there should be a huge optimism right now that twenty twenty four will be
39:43
a banner year for AW in my opinion, and more importantly so, one
39:47
maybe two names are off that free agent wire now and signed to All Elite,
39:53
which twenty twenty four is supposed to be a big year for professional wrestling
39:57
signings, and AW has already gotten a jump. As we talked about in
40:01
last weeks show, who will be that blockbuster signing? We felt that it
40:06
was going, you know, will Ospray would be the signing that we would
40:08
want to see. We felt like it would ultimately not be Will Ospray because
40:13
he was due to be a free agent in February twenty twenty four. We
40:16
felt like it would be Sammy Callahan. Instead. We got the twenty twenty
40:22
four free agency wire and professional wrestling going a bit early, as Will Ospray
40:25
is in fact All Elite Doctor Trey. He has signed a three year deal
40:30
with the company. He will wrap up in New Japan in February twenty twenty
40:34
four and then be All Elite. Will be based out of the UK during
40:37
this time, which Pac also does, and he will be a weekly contributor
40:42
to All Elite Wrestling for the next three years. To me, he is
40:44
one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet right now. This is a
40:47
huge get and a huge signing for All Elite Wrestling Doctor Trey. So I
40:52
simply ask you in regard to the signing, did AW have an edge or
40:55
is the WWE business model flawed for these big signings. AW they have the
41:01
forbidden door. It gives wrestlers an opportunity to form a relationship with AW.
41:06
The schedule in AW is more wrestler friendly than WWE. They have signed some
41:10
big names over the years here, Jay White earlier this year. Now will
41:15
Ospray is the AW business model when it comes to these big signings better and
41:22
making the WA business model flawed for the big signings. If you're going off
41:29
of do I want to sign with AW based on just what they do?
41:32
Yeah? Probably because the schedules a lot lighter the pay is comparable, that's
41:39
more guaranteed, and not hey at your merchandise sales factor into it. Things
41:45
like that like w does like a lot of their guys. If I was
41:51
going off like structuring my career, I'd still probably lean WE BUD if I.
41:54
If I'm a guy that's in my mid you know, mid thirties looking
41:59
to really establish myself and make a home. AWS a great place to start
42:04
because I don't have to bump as much, I don't have to work as
42:07
much, and I can still make really really good money and still be featured
42:09
on multiple shows. So and when it comes to signing guys, they do
42:15
have an edge because I'm pretty sure if a if WB went to will Ospray
42:19
to offer a contract knowing that he was still under contract New Japana falla lawsuits
42:24
with having that working relationship with AW I think aw can ask permission and they
42:30
can negotiate in good faith. So aw Wood comes with things like that is
42:36
going to have an edge on WWE when it comes to signing those international talents
42:39
that filter through New Japan. Yeah, it seems like they had a very
42:44
big edge for will Ospray. The rumors of will Ospray potentially going to WWE
42:47
had picked up in the last month. We had me very intrigued. Heading
42:51
in twenty twenty four. I felt like he made the right decision, Will
42:54
Ospray to go all elite wrestling. He knows what it's like there. He
42:59
has perform there plenty of times now, and I think he'll be a great
43:02
addition to their roster. And actually I thought Dave Meltzer made a really good
43:08
point in one of his reports that AW can offer Will Ospray an opportunity to
43:15
be a world champion in twenty twenty four, something WWE cannot do. Probably
43:19
in twenty twenty four, also all lead Wrestling heading into Wembley Stadium in the
43:23
home backyard of Will lost Bray. I mean, let's put it down now.
43:27
If you don't think Will Osprey is in some sort of world title match
43:30
it all in in August twenty twenty four, I think you're out of your
43:34
mind. And the only way that doesn't happen is if God forbid he gets
43:36
hurt and is unavailable to perform that night. I would fully expect that Will
43:39
Ospray is an AW world champion in twenty twenty four. This is a huge
43:43
signing, huge get for them, great move for him to be performing in
43:46
the United States promotions, and he still gets to have a relationship with the
43:50
New Japan a little bit as well. So one big name down for twenty
43:55
twenty four and another may be down for twenty twenty four as well as According
44:01
to reports from Wrestling Hass, several w RE sources, have you never heard
44:07
of that? No, I've never heard of wrestling Haws, But now it's
44:10
going on my list of people check on. Yeah. No, no,
44:14
they they do a really good The name is escaping me right now. Nick
44:19
Cosman, he used to be a wrestling ink. Now he's opened up his
44:22
own website, a Hoss of Wrestling. Okay, I just see. I
44:27
was just picturing some big fat country red bag wrestlin Hoss Wrestling Hass. Okay,
44:34
yeah, So House of Wrestling has said that several w RE sources believe
44:39
MJF has quietly re signed with AW one higher up w source data that have
44:45
been quote zero talks between the two sides. They further noted that the idea
44:49
MGF is said to enter free agency imminently is a quote false narrative, and
44:53
that they believe he has resigned into twenty twenty seven. I'm not surprised by
44:59
this doctor Trey based on the way that he has been booked. I did
45:02
feel like that everybody gunning for him could be leading towards maybe an exit from
45:07
the company. He wasn't involved in any of the all in promotion promotional material
45:14
for twenty twenty four where hes got people's spider sense is tingling a little bit.
45:17
But I think you hear him in interviews and he's, you know,
45:22
breaking a lot of kfabe and talking about how much he loves and appreciates all
45:24
elite wrestling and how he wants to be the guy for the company, and
45:30
it appears he is staying there, and this move surprises me. I think
45:36
MJF is a WWE talent in an aw ring. He fits that Cody Rhodes,
45:42
Jade Cargill, mold and mentality. I figured a guy like him,
45:49
a guy like Ricky Starks, would also thrive in w WI and kind of
45:52
would like the environment more. So this move is surprising, and that's of
46:00
and it's also unfortunate because I thought the bidding war of twenty twenty four is
46:06
gonna be a lot of fun. Yeah, they're like, on one hand,
46:09
I am surprised because you know, why would I. It's like you
46:15
and I are big baseball fans and you get that hot prospect who finally makes
46:17
his debut with you know, the major league club, and then you find
46:22
out he signed a you know, eight year contract that's gonna be wave alow
46:25
market value, and you're like, dude, why didn't you just stick to
46:29
you know, stick it out to the end of your contract. You can
46:30
have maximized it. But then the flip side's true as well, where you
46:36
get that guy who comes up to your system, you love him, you've
46:39
bonded with him, and then all of a sudden he jumps to the Red
46:43
Sox because they're gonna offer him two million more a year, and then you're
46:46
like, what happened to loyalty? It's one of those weird things, like
46:49
you look at a guy like m dam who kind of came not really out
46:52
of nowhere on the independence, like he had a day, but he's grown
46:58
in aw and he's sentence at the top of the ladder. So on the
47:02
one hand, a guy like me would go, hey, stick it out
47:05
for a few more months. Maximize your leverage, you get the best deal
47:08
possible for you. But you know the other side is, look, this
47:12
company invested in you and showing loyalty to you and let you be as creative
47:19
as you've wanted to be, and you know you taking the deal shows your
47:24
loyalty back to them. So it's almost like a damn if you do,
47:29
damned if you don't. Because either way, if he had jumped at WV,
47:32
people would be like, oh, how dare he leave AW for all
47:35
the stuff they did for him? And then he says, you guys like
47:38
you and me are like, he's probably a better fit in the WWE universe
47:44
because MJF is a sports entertainer more than anything else, and he would be
47:47
maximized to his best abilities. But you've got to give the kid credit for
47:53
loyalty. And I mean is one of his best friends is Cody Rohase.
47:57
He could have gone there and had a G eight spots, but he stayed
48:01
loyal to Tony Kahan and showed you got faith in me, I got faith
48:06
in you. So you have to give the kid credit for loyalty at least.
48:08
No, I absolutely do. I do appreciate the loyalty there, and
48:14
yeah, I mean I think this move works out very well for him obviously.
48:16
It's just it's just a little bit surprising. And by the way,
48:20
not to mention if it's only a three year deal. No, no,
48:22
it's it's a four Well you're right, yeah, because I'm thinking twenty twenty
48:27
three still, but yeah, it's a three year deal. It was a
48:29
three year deal. Guess what, mjf's only twenty eight or twenty nine.
48:32
When that contract's up, he could hit free agency again and then me hitting
48:39
his prime. I mean when w BE comes a colleague. So it's not
48:45
like this is his last contract. This is a chance for him to kind
48:47
of No, I agree with you. But he's also said in interviews,
48:52
which I do believe was not in character, that he is not looking to
48:55
be in professional wrestling rather long either. I think he is looking at Holly
49:00
Wood. Yeah, but then you look at you look at the Cody rosipproach
49:04
where it's like, hey, let me take one shot at w B and
49:07
see how it goes. Because if you want to go to Hollywood, WW
49:10
is probably a better vehicle than AEW. So, I mean, like I
49:16
said, he is twenty nine years old, he can sign a three year
49:19
deal with WWEB thirty two if the end of that deal, and then decide
49:22
if he wants to stay in wrestling, go back to AW or go into
49:25
Hollywood. So he'd be he's in a great position no matter what because he's
49:32
gonna have money, he's gonna have leverage and everything else. Like this kid's
49:37
basically got He's basically like right now the Golden Goosa Professional Wrestling. I think
49:40
for me as a baseball fan, here we are mid November baseball fans.
49:45
We love the hot stove, love seeing where free agent science are going to
49:50
go. And for the first time that I could ever remember professional wrestling history,
49:52
it was looking like twenty twenty four was going to be a huge hot
49:55
stole for professional wrestling. And now like arguably two of the biggest names,
50:00
if not the two biggest names, are now off the radar with will Osbury
50:07
signing with AW and reportedly mjf Re signing with AW. So we'll see heading
50:13
twenty twenty four if it ever lives up to that hot soap potential that everybody's
50:16
getting hyped up for because we had never seen this, especially with the way
50:21
that the Internet ages and you know there was no like in ninety seven,
50:25
two thousand and one. It wasn't. The internet wasn't what it is now.
50:29
And I think to have that type of information at your fringing tips with
50:34
news reporting and podcasting and this person go there, do they go here?
50:38
And whining and dining and all good stuff would have been cool and different to
50:44
say. Nonetheless, let's get into w Survivers Series War Games preview predictions.
50:49
It comes to us this Saturday from the All State Arena in Rosemont, Illinois,
50:52
will preview predict here the five matches, and then we will announce the
50:57
holiday schedule and then let you go be on your merry way for your things
51:00
skiving holiday. Here on this week's edition of SRTU Doc Trey, let's get
51:04
to the first match here, Carlito taking on Santos Escobar, which is announced
51:07
on Friday Night's Backdown. I like that these guys are getting the opportunity to
51:09
perform. I'm gonna take Santos Escobar in this one. Who do you like?
51:15
Yeah, I'm taking Santos Escobar with Cruise and Joaquin turning on the lwoo.
51:21
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I like that's the rumors right
51:22
now, there's gonna be like these separate factions, and I do feel like
51:27
legato'dell Phantasma reunites. Here. Are we gonna get l w O red and
51:32
LWO green? Yeah? I think so? Why not? Right? Yeah?
51:37
Read and grew. Well, there's the Sometimes they're blue and red for
51:42
the Puerto Rican flag. Sometimes they're red, white and green for the Mexico
51:45
flag. There you go, gun Through Defensie Intercontinental Championship against the Miz Doctor
51:50
Trey. Who do you like this one? I love the Mis, but
51:52
I'm taking gun there to retain I am as well. But I think this
51:57
is a match that the Miz earns Gunther's respect and support. I think that's
52:01
the storyline heading in this one, and that's how I think it plays out
52:05
true, where at the end of the match, Gunther is like pleased and
52:08
respects the Miz at the end of it. Yeah, I did like the
52:13
whole Like, I know I'm not fighting the Miss. I know I'm fighting
52:15
Mike Mizana line from Raw the other night. Yeah No, there was a
52:19
really good promo between the two guys. Next match year is Riea Ripley defending
52:22
the Women's World Championship against Zoe Stark. I'm going to take Ria Ripley to
52:25
retain. Yeah, I really want to pick Zoe and I think in a
52:30
year this is where Zoe. I think a year from now Zoe wins this
52:32
match, but right now I'm taking to Reea Ripley to retain as well.
52:36
Next match year is the Women's War Games. Match is Bianca Bella, Charlotte
52:38
Flairer, Shatzi, and Becky Lynch take on Damage Control Bailey, EO Sky,
52:43
Oscar and Kyrie. Saying Tree, who do you like this one?
52:45
I'm taking Shatzis, Charlotte, Becky and uh Bianca uh man that they have
52:52
more name power. Plus I think this is where the rest of Damage Controlled
52:57
kicks Bailey out coming out of this match. Yeah, that I'm taking Bianca,
53:01
Charlotte, Shotsy and Becky as well, and I'm with you. I
53:04
think that's the storyline in this one, is that this leads to Bailey being
53:07
kicked out of Damage Control, which will be strange that she will be back
53:10
as a babyface, possibly Doctor Trey. Yeah, and then it's a question
53:15
of does Dakota stay with EO, Osca and Kyrie or does she get kicked
53:21
out as well because she's injured. It's hard to kick somebody out who's injured,
53:23
but then it's hard. She then becomes the fourth wheel in a sense,
53:29
like one of these is not like the other three. So it's to
53:32
be interesting what they do with Zakota Kai. I think she stays because she's
53:36
kind of in their mouthpiece, so I could see that role being played out
53:38
as she recovers some injury. I think to up your question is, does
53:43
Bailey return to be the hugger? Ooh, maybe the high fiber. I
53:47
don't know, but now that looks like you can get Bailey, Charlotte and
53:52
Becky against EO, Kyrie and Oscar, which would be really really entertating few
53:57
as well, or or Bianca Charlott, It and ba I think you're still
54:01
go to end up a Bianca, end up a Jade at some point like
54:05
this, Oh yeah, I'm with you, I'm with you. I thought
54:07
they were kind of teasing the whole Bailey hugger stuff because they all hugged on
54:10
SmackDown and she said, I don't do this anymore, all right, haven't
54:14
done it in a long time. And I was like, hmm, they
54:15
got my Spider Sense tingling next batch here Men's Wargames match could Road Seth,
54:21
Freaking Ronalds, Jay Uzo, Sammy Zay and they returning Randy Orton take on
54:27
the Judgment Day Damian Priest, Finvaler, Dirty Dominic, Mysterio and JD McDonough,
54:30
who are also joined by Drew McIntyre who is not part of the Judgment
54:34
Day Doctor Trey, I will start on this one. I'm gonna take Cody,
54:37
Seth, Jay, Sammy and Randy Orton winning this, and I foresee
54:42
that this starts the cracks in the Judgment Day where they begin similar to the
54:47
match we just discussed on the verge of kicking out Damian Priests and maybe he
54:52
gets replaced by an eventual Drew McIntyre. So I've team Cody, Seth,
54:57
Jay, Sammy and Randy Orton won in this one. See, I have
55:00
a hard time with them because I picked the baby faces in the women's match,
55:04
and typically they try to do one surprise. So I think I'll take
55:08
Judgment Day because Drew turning is the cool new thing, even though Randy returnings
55:14
up there, but I think I'll take I think I'll take Judgment Day just
55:17
because like, I can't have two babyface teams win at Wargames, so I'll
55:22
take Judgment day either win. Now, I hear you. I had a
55:24
tough time making that call as well, but I gotta be different from you
55:29
on least one match. Fair enough, fair enough. We will recap and
55:32
review WW Survivor Series war Games on next week's edition of SRTU on November thirtieth.
55:38
Speaking of upcoming editions of SRTU, we always do this on the Thanksgiving
55:43
Said Special, the holiday schedule announcement Thursday December twenty first, our traditional we
55:50
look back at our twenty twenty three Both Prediction Special Thursday December the twenty eighth.
55:55
It is the last show of twenty twenty three, which is our annual
55:59
two thousand, twenty three SRT Award Show Special, and then we kick off
56:02
twenty twenty four on Thursday January fourth with our twenty twenty four Wrestling Preview show.
56:09
I know aw World's End is going on during the SRT Award Show and
56:15
the wrestling preview show, Doctor Trey and I will talk about this off air
56:22
a little bit, but I have a feeling that we'll probably do either some
56:24
sort of quick bonus editions of the podcast where we preview the show and then
56:29
maybe predict it during the holiday schedule, or we may just throw them up
56:32
on the Facebook and Twitter feeds of what our predictions are and then recap them
56:37
at a later time after the wrestling preview show. So there you go,
56:40
Doctor Trey. The holiday schedule has been announced. It's going to be here
56:45
in less than four weeks, which is wild to think about. My friend,
56:50
Yeah, it's weird, like this is the I don't know you like,
56:52
this feels like the first normal year we've had in quite a while.
56:57
Like in previous years they kind of like it becomes of the pandemic. It
57:00
kind of felt like it made me drugged through a little longer. Twenty twenty
57:05
three kind of flew by, So I guess this is also the showing that,
57:09
hey, we're actually kind of back to normal now. But holiday schedule
57:15
our favorite time of year because everybody knows how much I hate the Bull Prediction
57:19
shows and I hate the recap from the Bull Prediction show, So looking forward
57:23
to see how stupid I said it last year and how idiotic I'll be coming
57:27
into twenty twenty four. Every year, I always enjoy When Doctor Trey brings
57:30
up that he sounds like a redneck Termit the Frog. I mean, it's
57:34
such a contrasting styles that I'm like, Wow, I did not see that
57:38
one coming, but he catches me. Every time holiday schedule is upon us,
57:43
folks, it's only a matter of weeks, which is insane. But
57:45
twenty twenty three is coming to a close here in the next four to five
57:50
weeks. Would that said, let's get a couple of plugs in spots out
57:52
of the way. You can download show every Thursday or Friday at Real Guy
57:55
rated dot com, Russell Chattnett on X and the still Real to Show iTunes
57:59

58:01
charts on iTunes. You can follo us individually and X for myself at SRTU
58:06
Jeff and for Doctor Trey Franklin at the Doctor Tray, And of course don't
58:09
forget to follow a show on X at SRTU podcast. With that being said,
58:14
what is going on in the one for world of Doctor tre Franklin this
58:16
week? Well, like Jeff said, you can follow me on X at
58:20
the Doctor Trey. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram doctor Trey Franklin.
58:23
When you're on Facebook, check out Rocke City Championship Wrestling and Spartan Championship
58:28
Wrestling to the shows I work with here in Alabama. As December second,
58:31
Jeff is the seven year anniversary show of Rocket City Championship Wrestling, So we
58:37
talk about time flying by like I was here. We were doing the show
58:40
when Rocket City launched, and now we're hitting the seven year anniversary. So
58:45
December second, seven year anniversion, which also means the Rocket City Rumble will
58:49
be right around the first of January, which is also one of our favorite
58:52
shows the year because dear Lord, we've had cameraman, crowd people, ballets,
58:59
just everybody in the world has jumped into a rouble at one point or
59:01
the other. I mean Conrad Top and Tons Shiovanni have come down and watched
59:05
the Rubble. So it's one of our favorite shows of the year. So
59:07
that was just coming up first of January. So seven years of Rockett Championship
59:10
Wrestling, thirteen years of the Still Realtor Show, and neither of us have
59:15
died yet, So thank you. Yeah, there's not on wood. Not
59:19
on wood. I'm very thankful for that to wrap it all up with that
59:22
said, thank you for making this part of your week. Thank you for
59:25
making this part of your Thanksgiving holiday week for all those that celebrated. To
59:30
everybody celebrating Thanksgiving Holiday, Enjoy the holiday, Enjoy the time, Enjoy the
59:34
food, Enjoy the fun, Enjoy the family, Enjoy the professional wrestling.
59:37
Nonetheless until next week. For doctor Trey Franklin, I'm Jeff Pack. This
59:44
is the Still Real Toes Show.
