POSTGAME: Reactions from the first 2-0 start in Kraken history (10/11) · Seattle Kraken Audio Network

0:00
Speaker 1: And the Kraken Power Play. Lord.
0:02
Speaker 2: This is the kra Postgame Show, brought to you by
0:06
Speaker 2: Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at
0:09
Speaker 2: your Kraken hockey. It's the post Game. I'm the Global
0:13
Speaker 2: Credit Union, Kraken Audio Network.
0:17
Speaker 3: Three point eight seconds left on mclock in overtime, shared McCann.
0:24
Speaker 1: What's this one? Home for the Seattle Kraken, their.
0:28
Speaker 3: First two oh and oh start in franchise history. They
0:33
Speaker 3: now head on the road for six with four points
0:39
Speaker 3: in the Pacific Division.
0:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, a fantastic way to end this homestead obviously for themselves.
0:45
Speaker 4: Huge two wins for the fans to leave them something
0:49
Speaker 4: excited for. Obviously we're not gonna see some cracking hockey
0:52
Speaker 4: here at CP for a while, but yeah, I mean
0:55
Speaker 4: it sets them up really well for this this road trip.
0:58
Speaker 3: You know, we were talking you and I both on
1:01
Speaker 3: the air and off the air about the style of play,
1:04
Speaker 3: and we're gonna talk so much about that this season.
1:07
Speaker 3: How Lane Lambert wants to play, and you really saw
1:09
Speaker 3: it on display here this evening. The crack Him had
1:13
Speaker 3: some offensive chances two goals on twenty two shots, but
1:17
Speaker 3: defensively is where they really clamp things down that it
1:21
Speaker 3: was the hard work, it was the attention to detail.
1:24
Speaker 3: It was a lot of those little things that seemingly
1:27
Speaker 3: took away a lot of the firepower for Vegas. Now
1:30
Speaker 3: they did get the one power play goal, but that's
1:33
Speaker 3: all they could.
1:33
Speaker 1: Muster here tonight.
1:34
Speaker 4: Well, it's really hard to describe those because they don't
1:36
Speaker 4: often go down as stats on the goal on the
1:39
Speaker 4: on the goal sheet, like goals, assists, blocks, that sort
1:42
Speaker 4: of thing.
1:42
Speaker 1: It's how you play the game. It's how you approach
1:45
Speaker 1: the game.
1:45
Speaker 4: It's the angles you take to checks, it's where your
1:47
Speaker 4: stick goes, where it doesn't goes, it's you know, it's
1:50
Speaker 4: the discipline that we've talked about. All those little things
1:53
Speaker 4: add up to Lane Lambert's style of play that he
1:56
Speaker 4: wants these guys to play, and I think that we've
1:58
Speaker 4: seen a very good sample of yeah, over these first
2:00
Speaker 4: two regular season games.
2:02
Speaker 3: Joey Decord back to back games, back to back wins,
2:05
Speaker 3: back to back stars as well. He needed another strong
2:10
Speaker 3: performance and once again he delivered.
2:12
Speaker 4: He absolutely did and again stopping twenty six of twenty
2:16
Speaker 4: seven shots on goal. I mentioned this earlier in the broadcast.
2:19
Speaker 4: It's just not the saves that you can't really describe
2:23
Speaker 4: the way he's playing by just the saves. It's also
2:25
Speaker 4: what he's doing with the puck. Win he decides to
2:27
Speaker 4: clear the puck into the corner, he decides to play
2:29
Speaker 4: the puck, when he decides to stop the puck from
2:32
Speaker 4: getting back to the front of the net. All things
2:34
Speaker 4: that did equate to an elite goaltender two to.
2:37
Speaker 3: One Kraken winners over the Vegas Golden Knights. We also
2:42
Speaker 3: discussed the confidence of Matty Beniers here today.
2:45
Speaker 1: He scored on the power play.
2:47
Speaker 3: I think today for me probably was one of his
2:51
Speaker 3: best games in a Kraken uniform. And it seems like
2:55
Speaker 3: definitely during preseason and training camp and even here tonight
2:58
Speaker 3: in the last game, he's getting better. Almost every single day,
3:01
Speaker 3: You're seeing him improve in some area.
3:04
Speaker 5: Yeah.
3:04
Speaker 4: Absolutely, And again, just like with Joey Decord, same thing
3:07
Speaker 4: with Manny Veneers. When you know, when you watch him play,
3:10
Speaker 4: watch what he does when he doesn't have the puck,
3:12
Speaker 4: Watch what he does when he gets into a stick
3:14
Speaker 4: battle where he's chasing an opposing player down, Watch what
3:17
Speaker 4: he does along the boards with his boardwork. All of
3:20
Speaker 4: those areas have gotten so much better since your one.
3:23
Speaker 3: After starting this all time series one eight and zero
3:27
Speaker 3: against Vegas, the Kraken are now three three and one
3:31
Speaker 3: in their last seven games, and now three of their
3:34
Speaker 3: four wins all time against Vegas have come right here
3:39
Speaker 3: in Seattle, two one winners.
3:40
Speaker 1: Crack Him over Vegas.
3:42
Speaker 3: Will Paus come back with more after this on the

5:57
Speaker 9: In the final time.
5:58
Speaker 3: Tonight, welcome back inside a climate play arena alongside al
6:01
Speaker 3: Kiniski ever fits you back with you as we await
6:05
Speaker 3: the arrival of Brandon Montour two one win for the
6:09
Speaker 3: Seattle Kraken over the Vegas Gold and Knights and partner again.
6:12
Speaker 3: I mean, this game, what was the perfect microcosm of
6:17
Speaker 3: what we can expect to see out of the lane
6:19
Speaker 3: Lambert coach team, and it starts in goal from Joey
6:22
Speaker 3: de Korb out to the defensive side of the buck
6:24
Speaker 3: as well limiting those opportunities for.
6:28
Speaker 1: Vegas and I think too.
6:30
Speaker 3: Coming into this game, you knew that Jack Eichele and
6:33
Speaker 3: Paboldorfiev and a lot of those guys were going to
6:36
Speaker 3: be an issue for Seattle outside of the Pobolodorfia of
6:40
Speaker 3: power play gold or only goal of the night for Vegas.
6:44
Speaker 3: The Kraken did a really good job of limiting and
6:47
Speaker 3: shutting them down, and they did it in such a
6:51
Speaker 3: a almost systematic and calm way tonight.
6:54
Speaker 4: Yeah, And we talked about staying out of the box,
6:57
Speaker 4: staying off the power play because of how deadly theas
7:00
Speaker 4: power play is. And it took them three chances to
7:02
Speaker 4: finally get one on Seattle. So I thought they did
7:04
Speaker 4: a really good job staying discipline and limiting that, but
7:07
Speaker 4: ultimately they couldn't get it done against Seattle even strength.
7:11
Speaker 4: It took them a power play upon the puck pass
7:12
Speaker 4: Joey to Cord Jared mccannon the game winner in overtime.
7:16
Speaker 4: How about his four hundredth career.
7:18
Speaker 3: Point for Jared mccannon had his career goal number one
7:22
Speaker 3: eighty six for him in his six hundred and seventieth
7:27
Speaker 3: career games.
7:27
Speaker 4: So congratulations to him. Yeah, a huge goal for him.
7:30
Speaker 4: And you know he's he's known for his shot to
7:33
Speaker 4: his wrist, shot to picking corners, but to see him,
7:37
Speaker 4: but to see him get one like that, parked in
7:39
Speaker 4: front of the net, finding a rebound, taking the physical
7:42
Speaker 4: play of the Vegas players out there to find that
7:44
Speaker 4: rebound and put it home. That was That was a
7:46
Speaker 4: big goal.
7:47
Speaker 3: Two one kracking have the win over Vegas and overtimeless
7:50
Speaker 3: boss for a station ID on the Global Credit Union
7:53
Speaker 3: crack An Audio Network while we wait for Brandon Montour
8:06
Speaker 3: to get some treatment in the locker room. Al, why
8:08
Speaker 3: don't you give us your key takeaways from tonight?
8:11
Speaker 4: And how about Mamacay's sure she's waiting waiting by Manny
8:17
Speaker 4: Bnier's was my first note on key takeaways. I'd written
8:19
Speaker 4: that down probably ten minutes left in the third period.
8:22
Speaker 4: And obviously he had a big impact on that overtime
8:25
Speaker 4: goal as well. Fantastic game by by him, not just
8:28
Speaker 4: the points, but also winning puck battles, blocking shots and
8:32
Speaker 4: being a real leader out There's Joey Decord once again.
8:35
Speaker 4: Second game in a row. He's played, got to win
8:37
Speaker 4: both games. Big big, big stops in both games and
8:41
Speaker 4: he continues to shine. I like the Montor fight as well.
8:44
Speaker 4: It was a big hit. It might have been a
8:46
Speaker 4: bit of a rallying point for the guys, and I
8:48
Speaker 4: thought he had a big part of the outcome as well.
8:51
Speaker 4: We'll talk to him here in a minute. And then
8:53
Speaker 4: my last one was Vince Dunn's play. We didn't talk
8:56
Speaker 4: about him each during the game, but he played solid
8:59
Speaker 4: all night. He you know, he kept puck, sel played physical,
9:02
Speaker 4: did what Vince Dunn does and it even surprised me
9:05
Speaker 4: a couple of times with his speed on the outside.
9:08
Speaker 4: So I really liked his play tonight. Three stars brought
9:12
Speaker 4: to you by Mamakay. She's standing by waiting. Third star
9:15
Speaker 4: tonight Joey Decord Sea above nine to six, y three
9:18
Speaker 4: save percentage, stopping twenty six of twenty seven. He played fantastic.
9:23
Speaker 4: Madny Beniers is your second start tonight. He had a
9:25
Speaker 4: goal and one assist plus one on the night, and
9:29
Speaker 4: he continues to roll. And then your number one star,
9:31
Speaker 4: the OT winner Jared McCann with a goal. He was
9:35
Speaker 4: plus one and congratulations to Jared McCann. Also, that was
9:38
Speaker 4: his four hundredth career point and what a way to
9:41
Speaker 4: get it.
9:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, and now we look to the road ahead for
9:43
Speaker 3: Seattle as they take off tomorrow. They'll be in Montreal
9:46
Speaker 3: on Tuesday, followed by games in Ottawa, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington
9:52
Speaker 3: and Winnipeg. Philadelphia, Washington back to back next not this
9:56
Speaker 3: coming next Monday.
9:58
Speaker 1: That's exactly.
10:00
Speaker 3: It's a twelve day road trip. To our wives and kids.
10:03
Speaker 3: We are so sorry to be gone for so long.
10:06
Speaker 3: But I mean, listen, it's your first road trip of
10:09
Speaker 3: the season. Coaches will tell you, players will tell you
10:12
Speaker 3: they like to get on the road. They can be
10:13
Speaker 3: with themselves and use this as kind of a bonding
10:17
Speaker 3: if you will. But there are some games on this
10:20
Speaker 3: road trip that I think, for a variety of reasons,
10:23
Speaker 3: would be huge wins for the Kraken. All but one
10:27
Speaker 3: of the teams on this road trip made the playoffs
10:30
Speaker 3: last season. You're going into Montreal, You're going in Ottawa,
10:33
Speaker 3: Toronto as a return home for Lane Lambert. You've got Philadelphia, Washington.
10:38
Speaker 3: You're first of fourteen back to backs this season. I
10:41
Speaker 3: don't have to remind you of how the Kraken fared
10:44
Speaker 3: last year in back to backs. And then you close
10:47
Speaker 3: it out with the Winnipeg Jets, who have been consistently
10:50
Speaker 3: one of the best teams in the Western Conference for
10:52
Speaker 3: the last four or five years. It's not an easy
10:56
Speaker 3: road trip, but if you can come out of this
10:57
Speaker 3: road trip with more points one than lost, you're putting
11:01
Speaker 3: yourself in a very very good spot coming into a
11:04
Speaker 3: more manageable month of November.
11:06
Speaker 4: Yeah, we've talked about this, and I think that obviously,
11:09
Speaker 4: as a player, you want to win every game, but
11:11
Speaker 4: we're not, we're broadcasting. So I would say coming back
11:14
Speaker 4: home above five hundred, certainly after winning the first two
11:18
Speaker 4: games here at Climate Pledge Arena, you're sitting in a
11:20
Speaker 4: real good spot.
11:21
Speaker 1: But it doesn't get easy right away.
11:22
Speaker 4: You're coming home to Edmonton and Montreal and then the
11:25
Speaker 4: Rangers for the first three home games. Then the schedule
11:28
Speaker 4: gets a little soft after that, so it's not just
11:30
Speaker 4: these nick six, it's really these next nine if you
11:32
Speaker 4: want to be above five hundred on and I think
11:34
Speaker 4: if you are heading into that softer part of the
11:36
Speaker 4: schedule in November, you set yourself up pretty well.
11:39
Speaker 3: And I think we talked a little bit about that
11:40
Speaker 3: as well, about you know, what would you consider a
11:42
Speaker 3: successful road trip if you can go you know, three
11:45
Speaker 3: and three, three, two and one.
11:47
Speaker 1: Four and two, Yeah, some points in overtime, yeah, exactly.
11:50
Speaker 3: But also too, I think if you can go into
11:53
Speaker 3: Toronto on a Saturday night and get a win there,
11:56
Speaker 3: if you can go into Washington DC, the President's Trophy winners,
12:00
Speaker 3: you know, and go into one of the best teams
12:01
Speaker 3: in the league last year, a lot of folks see
12:04
Speaker 3: Washington maybe taking a step back. If you can go
12:07
Speaker 3: into Washington and pick up two points, win the games
12:10
Speaker 3: that I think you're supposed to win, but if you
12:14
Speaker 3: can pick up games against quote unquote teams that you're
12:17
Speaker 3: not supposed to beat, as folks will tell you, that's
12:20
Speaker 3: gonna really I think put the league on notice to
12:23
Speaker 3: who the Kraken are and what they want to be.
12:25
Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, the two games that I have
12:27
Speaker 4: circled on that road trip are the Philadelphia Washington because
12:30
Speaker 4: that's the first back to back of the season, and
12:32
Speaker 4: we all know how the back to backs went last season,
12:35
Speaker 4: so this is going to be the first test of that.
12:37
Speaker 4: And Philadelphia will be the first game, Washington the second.
12:41
Speaker 4: If they can pull out one or two wins in
12:43
Speaker 4: that back to back, I think again, that's gonna be
12:45
Speaker 4: another tell tale of the Lane Lambert style of playing
12:49
Speaker 4: two games.
12:50
Speaker 3: So far on this home stand for Seattle, perfect two
12:53
Speaker 3: and oh are the crack and what have you learned
12:55
Speaker 3: about this team over these last two games?
12:58
Speaker 1: You know, remember bring where.
13:01
Speaker 3: They were from the start of the preseason in the
13:04
Speaker 3: training camp, the things they had to work on. You're
13:07
Speaker 3: you're bringing in a new system, new coaches. What have
13:10
Speaker 3: you learned about this team now through their first two
13:13
Speaker 3: real games.
13:14
Speaker 4: Well, I think belief is the first one. I think
13:16
Speaker 4: anytime you get a new coach, you get new systems,
13:18
Speaker 4: you get new ways of doing things. You have to
13:21
Speaker 4: believe in that.
13:22
Speaker 3: So a two to one victory over the Vegas Golden
13:25
Speaker 3: Knights here and over time, as I just found out
13:27
Speaker 3: that Matt Brandon Montour is on his way and I
13:31
Speaker 3: think he may be down there in a moment, But
13:34
Speaker 3: twenty seven to twenty two, Vegas out shooting the Krack
13:37
Speaker 3: in that game, in this game as well, and it
13:40
Speaker 3: always feels good to beat your rivals, to beat teams
13:43
Speaker 3: in your division, and you know, in the Kraken, if
13:46
Speaker 3: you want to be a playoff team, if you want
13:48
Speaker 3: to have success, you're going to need to beat Vegas.
13:51
Speaker 3: You're going to need to beat the Edmonton's of the world,
13:54
Speaker 3: the Vancouvers of the world. So this was I think
13:57
Speaker 3: a really big statement win and it sounds like we're
13:59
Speaker 3: gonna get the Montur's thoughts on this win as well
14:02
Speaker 3: as down to the locker room we go, Brandon Montour,
14:06
Speaker 3: congrats on a big two one overtime win here tonight.
14:08
Speaker 3: But uh, just take us through this effort for your
14:11
Speaker 3: guys and how you thought this team played.
14:13
Speaker 10: Yeah, again, I think that's the that's a big game,
14:17
Speaker 10: especially early on, but that's how we're gonna have to
14:19
Speaker 10: win hockey games, especially against teams like that. You know,
14:22
Speaker 10: we cut them down pretty good, you know, let them
14:24
Speaker 10: up for one goal, a few power plays for them.
14:27
Speaker 10: But all in all, I think guys were obviously, you know,
14:30
Speaker 10: aggressive attention to details. Obviously there was times where you know,
14:33
Speaker 10: we can clean up puck play and little things like that.
14:36
Speaker 10: But I thought, you know, as the game went on,
14:39
Speaker 10: we stayed, we stayed with it, and you know, I
14:42
Speaker 10: like the effort tonight.
14:42
Speaker 3: You know, you mentioned that this is the type of
14:45
Speaker 3: way you guys have to play to half success. Didn't
14:47
Speaker 3: have the start you wanted against Anaheim on Thursday.
14:50
Speaker 1: You clean that up here tonight.
14:51
Speaker 3: When you look at these first six periods and the
14:53
Speaker 3: way that Lane Lambert wants to play, what about that
14:57
Speaker 3: style you think fits this team so well?
15:00
Speaker 1: Well?
15:00
Speaker 10: Again, I think I don't think we're a team that's
15:01
Speaker 10: going to be running a gun and you know, kind
15:05
Speaker 10: of going goal after goal, you know, chasing goals one
15:08
Speaker 10: one another, high scoring games. I think this is kind
15:10
Speaker 10: of the mentality that we need. And again this is
15:13
Speaker 10: playoff hockey. I think we're a good team to you know,
15:16
Speaker 10: our recipe is kind of playoff style that you know,
15:18
Speaker 10: we have all four lines, all sixty two three goalies
15:23
Speaker 10: and we need everyone every single night to you know, again,
15:25
Speaker 10: I think a mindset of ours is, you know, win
15:27
Speaker 10: or loss, we want that other team to to come
15:30
Speaker 10: out of that game and and you know, really have
15:34
Speaker 10: have a challenge and you know, play a tough team.
15:36
Speaker 10: So again that's that's a huge, you know, positive game
15:41
Speaker 10: in the right foot. And now we you know, try
15:43
Speaker 10: to continue that on the road.
15:44
Speaker 4: Monty, speaking of cutting down there in the second period,
15:47
Speaker 4: you cut down Zach white Cloud there pretty good.
15:49
Speaker 1: The bench.
15:50
Speaker 4: He's got two inches and ten pounds on you built
15:53
Speaker 4: like a cigarette machine. Walk me through that one there
15:57
Speaker 4: and let let me let the fans know what what
16:00
Speaker 4: happened there with Hutton.
16:02
Speaker 10: I mean, I thought it was a clean hit, a
16:04
Speaker 10: big hit, and again I guess I mean I don't
16:07
Speaker 10: know if they didn't like it or I don't know
16:09
Speaker 10: if he fights or not, but he was the first
16:11
Speaker 10: guy KAYA kind of saw, and I figure I missed
16:15
Speaker 10: almost a month of training camp that I need to,
16:17
Speaker 10: you know, keep my cardio going, so.
16:19
Speaker 5: That that definitely helped.
16:20
Speaker 4: We thought you lost a piece of equipment into the stands,
16:23
Speaker 4: but the replay if maybe a club flew over there.
16:26
Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, I mean you won't see too much of
16:28
Speaker 5: that from me.
16:29
Speaker 10: But obviously I enjoy doing that from time.
16:32
Speaker 5: To time, you know.
16:33
Speaker 1: Last one here for me.
16:34
Speaker 3: I I talked to Adam Larson in the locker room
16:36
Speaker 3: a couple of days ago, and as a defenseman on
16:38
Speaker 3: this team playing in a very defensive minded system, how
16:42
Speaker 3: are you taking to this new style of Ley Lambert play.
16:45
Speaker 1: Yeah?
16:45
Speaker 10: Again, I mean I've experienced playoff hockey, and he brings that,
16:49
Speaker 10: you know, and he brings that moto.
16:50
Speaker 5: He's obviously one he's been around.
16:52
Speaker 10: He brings that kind of mantra to to our locker room,
16:55
Speaker 10: and I think, like I said, with our group that
16:57
Speaker 10: we have, we need to play that style each and
17:00
Speaker 10: every night. Again, I haven't obviously been around, I've been
17:02
Speaker 10: in meetings and but I've missed a lot of time
17:04
Speaker 10: through camp, and you know that's you know, I've I've
17:07
Speaker 10: done my part off the ice, but again, I think
17:10
Speaker 10: I've played enough where obviously Lane doesn't know me as
17:15
Speaker 10: a person completely, you know how I am off and
17:17
Speaker 10: on the ice. He's getting an idea obviously here quickly.
17:21
Speaker 10: But just keeping it simple for me. It's I've missed
17:24
Speaker 10: so much. I just keep it simple, you know, get
17:27
Speaker 10: my legs under me. And I'm feeling pretty good.
17:30
Speaker 4: So would you would you say now after two games
17:32
Speaker 4: because obviously you didn't have preseason, but after two games,
17:34
Speaker 4: do you feel like your legs are underneath you?
17:37
Speaker 5: I fell after the first shift last game. My legs
17:39
Speaker 5: are here. I was telling these guys to let let
17:41
Speaker 5: the leash off a little bit. There you go.
17:43
Speaker 10: We'll see you know, we need everyone. It's a long season,
17:46
Speaker 10: you know. Obviously I want to be on the ice
17:48
Speaker 10: every single second.
17:49
Speaker 5: Of the game. And you know I feel good. So
17:51
Speaker 5: it's sorry.
17:52
Speaker 1: Well, Brandon man, thanks for the time. Congrats on the
17:54
Speaker 1: big win.

23:25
Speaker 11: and Boulder tracks is a perfect assist for all of
23:29
Speaker 11: life's adventures. A stale made of nothing nothing. Carrying over
23:34
Speaker 11: into period two with the Kraken going to the power play.
23:39
Speaker 1: Here's many beneers left side down the wall, into the corner.
23:43
Speaker 3: Everlieve it'll punch it back up top bits don at frock.
23:47
Speaker 18: Bears bits done from the line, sends it down the
23:59
Speaker 18: left side wall to every who found veneers in front,
24:03
Speaker 18: toe drags, aided Hill and a Seattle Crackett take a
24:07
Speaker 18: one nothing lead a power play goal twelve oh two
24:11
Speaker 18: left at Perry at number two.
24:13
Speaker 4: Well, Seattle catches Vegas needed a little bit too much
24:15
Speaker 4: towards the neutral zone has done. Does put that buck
24:19
Speaker 4: down deep. Beverly's a man of the core. He goes
24:21
Speaker 4: Vanier's the front. He wants to put it onto his forehead,
24:24
Speaker 4: which he does, but by the time Eaton Hill comes out,
24:27
Speaker 4: Vanier steps around.
24:28
Speaker 5: Out of the back end.
24:29
Speaker 4: It's one nothing cracking.
24:30
Speaker 11: You want to goal that symbolic of Matty Vaniers this night,
24:33
Speaker 11: well that's it and the Cracking with just that one
24:36
Speaker 11: goal at the end of regulation. It was a big
24:39
Speaker 11: one here as far as Vanier is, getting his first
24:41
Speaker 11: on the campaign at seven point fifty eight. But for
24:45
Speaker 11: an all round game, Matty Vaniers looked fantastic tonight and
24:48
Speaker 11: a goal was a part of it from Jordan Beverley
24:50
Speaker 11: and Ben's done for the Kracking getting a one nothing
24:53
Speaker 11: lead shortly after they killed a Vegas power play as well,
24:57
Speaker 11: and potentially a big moment to set the to for
25:00
Speaker 11: this game with the Crack and keeping that one goal
25:03
Speaker 11: lead through two periods of play. But Vegas would get
25:06
Speaker 11: more chances on the power play, and you can only
25:09
Speaker 11: give them so much before one of their key players
25:12
Speaker 11: finds a hole like this.
25:13
Speaker 1: Here's Echel right circle, Schwartz forcing him off to the.
25:17
Speaker 19: Corner stone near side battle door Fay. He scores babble
25:22
Speaker 19: door Feyev's fifth leading the NHL, is fourth on the power.
25:27
Speaker 3: Play in Vegas ties the game in a goal up.
25:30
Speaker 3: He's fifteen to forty nine left here in the third.
25:34
Speaker 11: Not many hotter players right now in the NHL to
25:36
Speaker 11: begin the season than Pavel dora Fev and already it's
25:39
Speaker 11: his fifth goal on the year. At four to eleven
25:42
Speaker 11: the period three, mark Stone Jack Eichel helping set him
25:46
Speaker 11: up with Dora Fayev sniping one past Joey to Cord
25:50
Speaker 11: at the left circle.
25:51
Speaker 12: These two teams then tightening.
25:54
Speaker 11: Matters as far as their defense and carrying it all
25:56
Speaker 11: the way into overtime. The lockdown effort proven that it
26:01
Speaker 11: was the one team making the biggest mistake, maybe which
26:03
Speaker 11: could lead to the game winner, a couple of great
26:06
Speaker 11: chances off the bat of three on three in overtime,
26:09
Speaker 11: but the very end it would rise to the occasion
26:13
Speaker 11: on the cracking side that.
26:15
Speaker 1: Even Ears watched by Thomas Hurtle.
26:17
Speaker 3: Six seconds left, ten Ears left circle shut.
26:20
Speaker 15: On put it out, Yes, Hey.
26:32
Speaker 18: Mcten and over time Sharon Maten wins it for Seattle
26:39
Speaker 18: their first two inzero start and team history.
26:43
Speaker 4: Two on over Vegas. What was finced one? Picking up
26:47
Speaker 4: the puck inside the blue line. He knew the time
26:50
Speaker 4: on the clock. He is about seven seconds. He got
26:53
Speaker 4: a shot off. Mckenn was in front.
26:55
Speaker 1: He finds the rebound. He buries it to to one
26:58
Speaker 1: overtime win.
27:00
Speaker 15: Bring on the final kicks.
27:02
Speaker 11: They taste pretty good right now, don't they al Koniski Yep.
27:05
Speaker 11: Jared McCann two goals in his first two games of
27:09
Speaker 11: the season.
27:10
Speaker 12: They've been pretty.
27:10
Speaker 11: Big and this one gets the overtime winner with three
27:13
Speaker 11: point eight seconds left, capping a multi point nine by
27:16
Speaker 11: Matty Veniers who set him up. Ben's done as well
27:18
Speaker 11: with the assists officially at four fifty six and the
27:22
Speaker 11: Cracking out to their first two and o start in

Speaker 11: franchise sistory, toppling Vegas to one in ot your final

Speaker 11: twenty seven to twenty two. The Crack in one of
27:33

27:37
Speaker 11: and Joey Decor picks up the win and net once again.
27:40
Speaker 11: Twenty six saves on the evening on twenty seven shots.
27:43
Speaker 11: Ayden Hill takes the overtime loss twenty saves on twenty

28:10
Speaker 11: do to help cracking matters?
28:12
Speaker 19: Here's to Las hurdle Man fra door Fev on the
28:15
Speaker 19: door step turn aside by.
28:16
Speaker 3: Joey to Gord.
28:17
Speaker 4: How's a big save there bottom of the left circle
28:21
Speaker 4: in the low slot area door Fev turned away by
28:24
Speaker 4: Joey to Gord first.
28:26
Speaker 12: Probably difficult say a high danger save of the night.
28:30
Speaker 11: For Joey to Gord to give you the indication how
28:33
Speaker 11: impressive this effort was for the Kraken rare Did they
28:35
Speaker 11: have a breakdown in the front of their own net
28:37
Speaker 11: and rare? Did they really give Vegas extended time in
28:41
Speaker 11: the offensive zone? But on one of those few Rare
28:43
Speaker 11: matters it was the Chord rising to the occasion on
28:46
Speaker 11: Padel d'ora Faev and a big save to keep it scoreless.
28:49
Speaker 11: Into the second period, here comes a train labeled Brandon Montour.
28:55
Speaker 3: Far side Hutt knock down Marner again. That shot it's
28:59
Speaker 3: a body that was my tour on the way through.
29:01
Speaker 3: Is Ben hutting again? They'll send it down the wall.
29:04
Speaker 3: Martyr over the hurdle back to Marner and they'll send
29:07
Speaker 3: it down the boards. Vegas setting it up is bable
29:11
Speaker 3: door fIF the left wing signed Dori fIF back, hands
29:14
Speaker 3: it up top to white Cloud, shot blocked all the
29:16
Speaker 3: way through again.
29:17
Speaker 1: And Seattle or airmail this one down the ice chandlers.
29:20
Speaker 19: Steven said, up to Monteur, who bowl rushes sack white
29:25
Speaker 19: Cloud and now Bonteur getting into it on the far
29:29
Speaker 19: side Glass a big punch to the side of the
29:32
Speaker 19: head for Ben Hutting. Monteur's glove went flying into the stands,
29:37
Speaker 19: and now Monteur takes down Hutting right in front of
29:40
Speaker 19: the Seattle cracking bench.
29:43
Speaker 11: You want to make a statement, you do something like that,
29:46
Speaker 11: label a player with a hit on a very burly
29:49
Speaker 11: Vegas team and then show no fear dropping Min's. That
29:52
Speaker 11: was Brandon Montour's mo tonight with that game still very
29:55
Speaker 11: much in the balance, and that certainly helps setting a
29:58
Speaker 11: tone in the two to one over Top win, which
30:00
Speaker 11: brings us down to the big win across the NHL
30:03
Speaker 11: that's brought to you by the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling.
30:06
Speaker 11: If we go to sing Paul Minnesota Blue Jackets at

Speaker 12: Did Carel Marchenko have in mind?
30:19
Speaker 20: Minnesota's able to change their penalty killers and here come
30:21
Speaker 20: to Blue Jackets. Kat Johnson brings it in, leaves it
30:24

30:27
Speaker 20: to Zach Warenski, hands it back to Marchenko left wing circle.

41:03
Speaker 11: one and a two to one crack and win over
41:05
Speaker 11: the Vegas Golden Knights. Mike Benton with you back at
41:08
Speaker 11: Climbing Pledge Arena, joined now by Al Kaniski here with
41:11
Speaker 11: us for a few moments. A team taken off tomorrow,
41:14
Speaker 11: So you got to get your forty winks here, my friend.
41:16
Speaker 11: But my goodness been. But before we get to more
41:18
Speaker 11: reaction again, four nine four or five to one, Texas friends,
41:21
Speaker 11: right now in the kJ R text line four nine
41:23
Speaker 11: four or five one, and you tell me who impressed
41:26
Speaker 11: you the most in a night's two to one win
41:28
Speaker 11: over Vegas. I would assume there are plenty of names
41:31
Speaker 11: across the board that you might be thinking, was it
41:33
Speaker 11: Maddy Beniers, was it Brandon Montour, Joey Decord or somebody
41:37
Speaker 11: else as well? But I'll first get to the general
41:39
Speaker 11: thought on this. Coming into today, you're thinking, yeah, great,
41:43
Speaker 11: you beat Anaheim three to one. That's a young team
41:46
Speaker 11: on the rise. They have a very very proven head
41:48
Speaker 11: coach and Joel Quinnville. But now here comes an even
41:52
Speaker 11: larger test. I'm talking about probably roughly ten thousand times
41:54
Speaker 11: greater Vegas is established Vegas as presence in this league.
41:59
Speaker 11: They are Establis much as well behind their bench with
42:01
Speaker 11: Brewis Cassidy. So there was one way maybe to have
42:05
Speaker 11: your to get yourselves a chance with this team. And
42:09
Speaker 11: it's key things as close, tight and lockdown as it gets.
42:13
Speaker 11: And mine did I believe the crack can passed so
42:15
Speaker 11: many tests this evening.
42:17
Speaker 4: Well, and it wasn't just keep it close and tight.
42:19
Speaker 4: It was keep it close as tight, low scoring, because
42:21
Speaker 4: I'm sure La and San Jose would say, hey, we
42:23
Speaker 4: kept it close as well, but it was six or
42:25
Speaker 4: five down down in uh or was it La for
42:29
Speaker 4: that for that game? Excuse me. So it wasn't just
42:32
Speaker 4: about keeping it tight. It was about keeping the goals
42:34
Speaker 4: low scoring. And I think they did a great job
42:36
Speaker 4: with that by staying out of the box in the
42:38
Speaker 4: first period. Second period got away from them, but other
42:41
Speaker 4: than the one power play goal, they did a good
42:43
Speaker 4: job on the penalty kill. But then they didn't give
42:45
Speaker 4: any more chances in the third period, which was huge.
42:48
Speaker 4: So five on five, keep the goals against low. Joey
42:52
Speaker 4: Decourt had a big say in that, keeping them in
42:54
Speaker 4: the game.
42:55
Speaker 11: See for me, Maddy even here's at a multi point
42:57
Speaker 11: night tonight, and we'll hear from We'll hear from more
42:59
Speaker 11: for Maddie from the dressing room in just a little
43:01
Speaker 11: bit here. Two point game. But face offs ten and
43:04
Speaker 11: seventeen had a lot of matchups against the Padel Dori
43:07
Speaker 11: Feyev line here for tonight, Vegas just got one goal.
43:10
Speaker 11: It was on the power play. It was Dori feyev
43:12
Speaker 11: so at five on five when you throw that in
43:15
Speaker 11: with the Beniers as well, who was very active also
43:19
Speaker 11: shot attempts, had eight of them here in this game.
43:23
Speaker 11: When's the last time you've seen Matty Benier's this active?
43:26
Speaker 4: Yeah, Manny Beniers to me stood out tonight, not just
43:29
Speaker 4: with the offense that he had, but also the things
43:33
Speaker 4: he did without the puck, tracking players down, winning puck battles,
43:38
Speaker 4: work along the boards. He's not getting muscled off the
43:41
Speaker 4: puck with as much. In fact, he's mustling others off
43:44
Speaker 4: the puck. His game has definitely grown a lot since
43:47
Speaker 4: he had the last season four.
43:48
Speaker 11: Nine, four or five one KJR text line. Tell us
43:50
Speaker 11: right now who impression the most this two to one
43:53
Speaker 11: crack and winning overtime over the Vegas Golden Knights again,
43:55
Speaker 11: Mike Benton alkiniski with you reaction from Matty Beniers coming
43:59
Speaker 11: up in just a bit from Crack and dressing room.
44:01
Speaker 11: And it's early here to say that you firmly entrensh
44:05
Speaker 11: your identity. But we know there is the one goal
44:08
Speaker 11: in the one mission here for a Lane Lambert team
44:10
Speaker 11: to play with grid, to play with details, to play
44:13
Speaker 11: with structure, and to be very hard to play against.
44:16
Speaker 11: It can sound like it's cliche. A lot of teams
44:18
Speaker 11: say they want to play that way as well, but
44:20
Speaker 11: we're seeing I believe a transformation. Take note as well.
44:23
Speaker 11: I think al the krack in forty eight hits against
44:26
Speaker 11: Anaheim tonight won the hit battle again against Vegas. I repeat,
44:31
Speaker 11: they won the hit battle against Vegas. Thirty hits for
44:35
Speaker 11: the Krake in twenty two for Vegas. Guess who has
44:39
Speaker 11: six hits to lead this kracking team, ty kar Chick.
44:42
Speaker 1: Yeah.
44:42
Speaker 4: Ty car Chi has been recognizing the at least in
44:45
Speaker 4: the first two games of this season, the role that
44:47
Speaker 4: he needs to play. And he's got a great shot
44:49
Speaker 4: and he'll get a chance to use it as often
44:51
Speaker 4: as possible. But he knows he needs to play physical
44:54
Speaker 4: every single game, and he's done that, not just tonight,
44:57
Speaker 4: but also in the Nheim game. Before we get to Beniers,
44:59
Speaker 4: let's get to some of your action here. First off,
45:00
Speaker 4: four nine, four five one from the two oho six.
45:03
Speaker 4: Al this uh saying Beniers' goal really brought in the
45:06
Speaker 4: confidence here for this group.
45:08
Speaker 11: Before that, I feel like they were losing confidence since
45:12
Speaker 11: they weren't scoring that from the two oh six.
45:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, you can certainly get that way where you start
45:16
Speaker 4: to get frustrated and it's not happening, and you know
45:19
Speaker 4: that sometimes comes from you know, missed breakaways. Two on
45:23
Speaker 4: one's that sort of thing. There were a couple of
45:25
Speaker 4: posts in this game, but I think it's more understanding
45:29
Speaker 4: that you wait for your opportunities, and in the case
45:31
Speaker 4: of Matty Benier's, that they waiting for that power play opportunity.
45:35
Speaker 4: What I like about that goal is that you know,
45:37
Speaker 4: in your in Maddy's first year, he probably would have
45:40
Speaker 4: just taken that shot there, quick bumper pass out from
45:42
Speaker 4: below the goal line a shot, and he probably would
45:44
Speaker 4: have made some of those goals. But now he's got
45:47
Speaker 4: that confidence to recognize pass came out a little slower.
45:50
Speaker 4: Aiden Hill's got time to come out and take away
45:52
Speaker 4: that angle, So I'm gonna step around him on my backhand.
45:55
Speaker 4: That's a confidence goal. That's a vet goal.
45:57
Speaker 11: Three to six OH Star player Joey Decor saying love
46:01
Speaker 11: all the changes positively here for the season.
46:03
Speaker 4: Yeah again, another big game for thirty five and net.
46:06
Speaker 4: You know he's he's doing so many things.
46:08
Speaker 5: Well.
46:09
Speaker 4: I talked about Matty Benier's and the things he does
46:11
Speaker 4: at way from the puck. Well, a goaltender can only
46:13
Speaker 4: do great things when they have the puck. Joey's doing that.
46:16
Speaker 4: If it's not stopping the puck, he's playing the puck.
46:19
Speaker 4: If it's not playing the puck, he's making sure the
46:21
Speaker 4: puck doesn't get out in front of the net, off
46:23
Speaker 4: off a rebound off the boards behind his net. He's
46:26
Speaker 4: talking to his players out there, he's very engaged. He's
46:29
Speaker 4: doing everything in his ability to affect the outcome of
46:33
Speaker 4: these games.
46:33
Speaker 11: Well, the Craken would love more signature games like that
46:36
Speaker 11: from Joey to Court. In addition to your signature call,
46:39
Speaker 11: bring on the funnel cakes, please go enjoy some safe
46:42
Speaker 11: flight tomorrow, dude, Thanks buddy Alkaniski with us here downstairs,
46:46
Speaker 11: we go crack and win two one over Vegas and
46:48
Speaker 11: overtime and now meeting the media for more reaction is
46:51
Speaker 11: Matty Beniers.
46:53
Speaker 26: Hey, he excited words there as after just keep talking
46:59
Speaker 26: about which son that playing power play going there?
47:03
Speaker 27: Yeah, I mean it was a you know, it was
47:05
Speaker 27: an awesome pass. He's uh, he's extremely gifted passer. You know,
47:10
Speaker 27: we all know that, and you know I put that
47:12
Speaker 27: on this way right there. But through his like right
47:15
Speaker 27: in front of them all alone.
47:16
Speaker 5: So yeah, it's you know, you set.
47:17
Speaker 24: That whole thing up and we're from the power play early.
47:19
Speaker 5: Now it's two games with some of these goods.
47:20
Speaker 22: We're getting a lot of good looks, just close to
47:23
Speaker 22: converting a bunch of the eat.
47:24
Speaker 27: Yeah. I think, uh, we're doing a resolve of having
47:28
Speaker 27: you know, shooting mentality out there. We're keeping it relatively simple.
47:33
Speaker 27: Guys are in their spots, you know, shooting box, getting
47:36
Speaker 27: box back. So I think that's kind of the biggest
47:40
Speaker 27: difference in in that and you know, and then and
47:43
Speaker 27: then it should go capitalizing when we when we get.
47:45
Speaker 28: The top jas Man he had he had seven seconds
47:48
Speaker 28: and then last played. What were you thinking of not
47:51
Speaker 28: taking at that point what she wanted to do with
47:53
Speaker 28: the book?
47:54
Speaker 27: Yeah, I mean, you know, I'd love to I would
47:57
Speaker 27: have love to beat him, but you know, time was
48:00
Speaker 27: running down and I saw Kenner at the Natso it's
48:01
Speaker 27: just kind of put a good one in there. You know,
48:04
Speaker 27: you used the US the D as a screen and
48:06
Speaker 27: Karro obviously did a great job, got in good positioning
48:09
Speaker 27: and banging home.
48:10
Speaker 5: So yeah, I was alealy played by him.
48:11
Speaker 10: Maddy wants to win like this against that team, specifically,
48:14
Speaker 10: mean for you guys here early in the season.
48:17
Speaker 27: Yeah, it's just, uh, you know, it was a great one.
48:19
Speaker 27: I thought we played pretty solid through sixty minutes. You know,
48:23
Speaker 27: they're a very good team, so you know, it's just
48:27
Speaker 27: a continuing to build our game. I thought we got
48:29
Speaker 27: a great job buying into what we wanted to do tonight.
48:32
Speaker 27: You know, we came out good in the first you know,
48:35
Speaker 27: started on time, played a full sixty so you know,
48:38
Speaker 27: it's a lot to go enough.
48:40
Speaker 12: And you seem to, I mean my take, you seem
48:42
Speaker 12: to have some good junk tonight.
48:43
Speaker 5: I mean, how are you feeling right now?
48:44
Speaker 1: Are feeling a lot.
48:45
Speaker 24: Of confidents to your game?
48:47
Speaker 28: Yeah?
48:47
Speaker 5: I feel good.
48:48
Speaker 4: Okay, big overtime winning this game.
48:54
Speaker 5: Do you like what you saw?
48:56
Speaker 8: It seemed like the Mary's had ton with it last night,
48:58
Speaker 8: and we'll probably do the same thing here.
49:00
Speaker 5: Yeah.
49:00
Speaker 27: They were electric last and I couldn't I couldn't stay
49:04
Speaker 27: the whole time because we had tonight's game. But yeah,
49:07
Speaker 27: that was that was a fun game. We a lot
49:09
Speaker 27: of us got to go to it. It's fun cheering
49:11
Speaker 27: on those guys. Yeah, they're they were awesome.
49:14
Speaker 1: So Yeah, that was.
49:14
Speaker 27: Definitely something we were talking about. You know, they got
49:17
Speaker 27: the city going.
49:18
Speaker 1: And we can keep it going.
49:19
Speaker 4: Mannie, how'd you feel about the response after Biggas tied
49:22
Speaker 4: it going down the stretch.
49:26
Speaker 27: Yeah, I mean, Biggasi, we're gonna have to push there.
49:29
Speaker 27: You know in the second kind of put us on
49:31
Speaker 27: our heels a little bit, and I thought, you know,
49:34
Speaker 27: they got that goal. I thought, what a good job responding,
49:37
Speaker 27: you know, getting back to our game, we were kind
49:38
Speaker 27: of on our heels.
49:39
Speaker 5: A little bit.
49:39
Speaker 27: We got more on our toes, started being a little
49:41
Speaker 27: smarter with the punkin Buck saying, get a little bit
49:43
Speaker 27: more chances.
49:45
Speaker 5: You know, they're a good team.
49:45
Speaker 20: That's what's gonna happen.
49:47
Speaker 27: Uh, you know, I guess late in the game, they're
49:48
Speaker 27: gonna push back.
49:51
Speaker 11: Yes, Matty Beneer's meeting with the media and he was
49:54
Speaker 11: in attendance for one of the most memorable games and
49:57
Speaker 11: Mariners and baseball postseason history last night, and the good
50:01
Speaker 11: vibes carrying over into tonight, with Beniirs playing a fantastic
50:05
Speaker 11: game two point night, helping out on the Jere McCann
50:09
Speaker 11: game winning goals, scoring a second period goal as well,
50:12
Speaker 11: and with a lockdown approach, also adding ten of seventeen
50:16
Speaker 11: wins at the FASAV Circle the krack and with love
50:19
Speaker 11: this kind of game from Maddy Benier's on a consistent basis,
50:22
Speaker 11: and so far it has led to a two and
50:24
Speaker 11: oh star for the first time in cracking history, and
50:26
Speaker 11: they beat Vegas two to one in overtime here at
50:29
Speaker 11: Climate Pledge Arena. We'll come back after this with more
50:32
Speaker 11: reaction from Crackenhead coach Lane Lambert. This is Tucking Kraken
50:36
Speaker 11: on ninety three to three KJRFM.
50:41
Speaker 2: Now back to Ducking Kracking with Mike Bnton on Your
50:45
Speaker 2: Home of a Krack in Sport Drainio Matty three point
50:48
Speaker 2: three kJ r FM.
50:58
Speaker 3: Even heres lotched Tobas hurdle six seconds left, Beneers left circle.
51:03
Speaker 15: Son on Wave out Star.
51:13
Speaker 18: Yes, Hey, mctaen head.
51:17
Speaker 15: Over time, Sharon mcten.
51:21
Speaker 18: Whin's it for Seattle their first two and oh start
51:25
Speaker 18: in team history.
51:27
Speaker 1: Two on over.
51:28
Speaker 11: Vegas Matty ben Hears capping off a multi point night
51:32
Speaker 11: with that game winning goal by Jared Mccannada two to
51:35
Speaker 11: one victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Mike Benton with
51:39
Speaker 11: you back and climbing pledge arena and with our reaction.
51:42
Speaker 11: It begins again via the kJ R text line from
51:44
Speaker 11: the three six to so saying Matty Benier has made
51:47
Speaker 11: the biggest impression. Sweet moves first, our type of games
51:50
Speaker 11: spun out three sixty came up and skated on mister
51:54
Speaker 11: smooth moved that from the three six to so and
51:56
Speaker 11: reaction here from Twitter NX Tyler saying that the Cracking
52:00
Speaker 11: were physical and push the pock end of the zone.
52:02
Speaker 11: It didn't seem outmatched, which I can't say that had
52:06
Speaker 11: been the case as well in the past. That from
52:08
Speaker 11: Tyler on Twitter and X all right downstairs we go
52:12
Speaker 11: more reaction now from CRACKINGEAD coach Lane Lambert.
52:29
Speaker 4: Oh.
52:31
Speaker 29: Coach first a request, it would be easier on me
52:37
Speaker 29: personally if the Cracking could win eight to one, so
52:41
Speaker 29: that I wouldn't have to keep rewriting my game story.
52:45
Speaker 29: So would you mind asking the team to see what
52:47
Speaker 29: they can need?
52:49
Speaker 26: I think you're probably gonna have to wait till the
52:50
Speaker 26: end of a few games this year. You know, it's
52:53
Speaker 26: pretty tight hockey. There wasn't a lot of space out there,
52:57
Speaker 26: so you know, I thought I let our team play.
53:01
Speaker 30: What I wanted to get you to talk about if
53:03
Speaker 30: you would, is that Benier's goal and that sometimes we
53:07
Speaker 30: take for granted the amazing amount of skill both on
53:13
Speaker 30: the pass by every behind the back without looking a
53:17
Speaker 30: blind pass onto the tape and then Venier's at the
53:21
Speaker 30: limp the decrease. He's got to go foehand backhand and
53:26
Speaker 30: have the composure to do that, and I guess we
53:29
Speaker 30: see that enough, we take it for granted. But that's
53:32
Speaker 30: an amazing display skill.
53:34
Speaker 24: On both ends. It was.
53:35
Speaker 26: It was a high level play from both of them.
53:37
Speaker 26: And you know, like every it wasn't quote unquote a
53:42
Speaker 26: blind pass.
53:43
Speaker 24: He knew exactly where he was going.
53:44
Speaker 26: He had surveyed that situation while the puck was coming
53:46
Speaker 26: around the wall, so he just made a nice touch
53:49
Speaker 26: play there, you know, which he does and has the
53:52
Speaker 26: skill to do.
53:53
Speaker 24: And then the finish.
53:54
Speaker 26: Was was elite, So good good play by both those guys.
54:00
Speaker 28: About Hey, Maane, you seem to have trusted a lot
54:03
Speaker 28: of guys that were late in the game and in
54:05
Speaker 28: over time or did you feel over all the teams
54:08
Speaker 28: given you the effort you do it before from the
54:10
Speaker 28: heavy player?
54:11
Speaker 26: Yeah, I do I think that uh uh, you know,
54:16
Speaker 26: like I said, right from from day one, and we'll
54:19
Speaker 26: continue to to continue to to build.
54:22
Speaker 24: There's some things that we did really well tonight.
54:24
Speaker 26: There's areas that you know, we can improve on and
54:28
Speaker 26: and we have to be more consistent for sixty minutes.
54:31
Speaker 16: Uh.
54:32
Speaker 24: We had a heck of a start to the game.
54:34
Speaker 26: Last game, we didn't have a very good start, so,
54:37
Speaker 26: you know, and I thought, really, uh, in the second
54:40
Speaker 26: and third period, the offense dried out for both teams.
54:45
Speaker 24: There wasn't a lot of chances. There wasn't a lot
54:47
Speaker 24: of ice either way.
54:49
Speaker 26: And those are the games you have to you have
54:51
Speaker 26: to be patient and you have to wait for your
54:54
Speaker 26: opportunities and trust that that's the process. U. You can't,
55:00
Speaker 26: you know, try and make hope plays and blind plays
55:04
Speaker 26: and get impatient. Impatience is uh. Impatience is death in
55:09
Speaker 26: the game of hockey when you when you start doing
55:11
Speaker 26: that and and you start giving up some some rushes
55:15
Speaker 26: the other way. So I thought the effort was good
55:16
Speaker 26: and I think it's been good Ripe since since day one.
55:19
Speaker 24: Camp coach.
55:21
Speaker 27: You're relatively new here, but Vegas has had Seattle's number
55:24
Speaker 27: over the first four seasons.
55:26
Speaker 24: For sure. What does that mean for this group to
55:28
Speaker 24: get a win.
55:29
Speaker 27: Against that team early out in the season here and
55:31
Speaker 27: even before he gets set out of the pay.
55:33
Speaker 24: Roadshow, Well, you know they they're a good hockey team.
55:36
Speaker 24: We know that. You know, past is past, I guess,
55:40
Speaker 24: so to speak.
55:43
Speaker 26: And it's it's important for our team to understand that
55:48
Speaker 26: what we're doing is a formula to have success. You know,
55:52
Speaker 26: you're not always gonna win, and and that's the way
55:55
Speaker 26: it goes. But you know, the the outcome was great.
56:00
Speaker 26: Had it been slightly different, I wouldn't have been unhappy
56:02
Speaker 26: with our hockey team's effort. And again there would have
56:05
Speaker 26: been the same same things that we needed to work
56:08
Speaker 26: on either way, you know, And it's good to get
56:11
Speaker 26: it's good to get off on the right foot and
56:14
Speaker 26: head out on the road.
56:14
Speaker 24: I mean that goes without saying.
56:18
Speaker 11: Well, the tests were many by the mistakes were very few,
56:21
Speaker 11: and Lane Lambert with his remarks on this crack and
56:24
Speaker 11: winning over time two to one over the Vegas Golden Knights,
56:27
Speaker 11: and yet you've given some credit as well. There are
56:30
Speaker 11: still ways for this team to look for areas to
56:33
Speaker 11: improve their game. I mean, when you play against Vegas
56:36
Speaker 11: and give up a chance against say pad al Dora
56:38
Speaker 11: fav in the first period. Not something that you're looking
56:40
Speaker 11: for defensively here, maybe even two shots on Netton period three.
56:45
Speaker 11: They're looking to find ways to generate more. But all
56:48
Speaker 11: in all, to face a Vegas team that is very polished,
56:51
Speaker 11: very skilled, they have plenty going for them under head
56:55
Speaker 11: coach Bruce Cassidy. Tonight was a big statement as far
56:58
Speaker 11: as how the Cracking could measure up against challenges like these,
57:02
Speaker 11: and they did just that courtesy Maddy Baniir's's multi point game,
57:05
Speaker 11: a second period goal and then Vanier's helping set up
57:08
Speaker 11: Jared McCann for the winner at four fifty six of overtime,
57:11
Speaker 11: giving Joey to Cord the win in net and the
57:14
Speaker 11: Kraken a two to zero start up next Montreal to
57:17
Speaker 11: begin the six game road trip, where the Habs last
57:20
Speaker 11: season clinching a wildcard spot and ninety one points for
57:23
Speaker 11: their campaign under head coach Marty San Luis. They were
57:26
Speaker 11: a team maybe coming of age, with Lane Hudson a
57:29
Speaker 11: part of this core reportedly close to an extension, but
57:32
Speaker 11: with that Nick Zuzuki a part of it last year
57:35
Speaker 11: eighty nine points, Col kaw Field seventy points as well
57:38
Speaker 11: and throwing the talent in a young Urislavkovski and that's
57:41
Speaker 11: going to be a stiff challenge coming up for their
57:43
Speaker 11: home opener on Tuesday and the Crack and trying to
57:46
Speaker 11: improve in a mark where they have won three of
57:48
Speaker 11: the last five meetings. Four o'clock put drop of bell center,
57:51
Speaker 11: hope you can join us. Also for the Corps light
57:54
Speaker 11: pregame showed choose Chill coming up at three thirty. That's
57:57
Speaker 11: all the time we have our thanks to Andrews her
58:00
Speaker 11: technical director, Terry Ryaner on site engineer as that will
58:03
Speaker 11: do it for here for al Kiniski, this is Mike
58:06
Speaker 11: Benton saying good night from climbing Pledgerina and thank you
58:09
Speaker 11: for joining us and for your reaction your final score
58:12
Speaker 11: once again in sudden death over time, the Seattle Cracking
58:14
Speaker 11: two in the Vegas Golden Knights one. This is Talking
58:18
Speaker 11: Cracking on ninety three to three KJRFM.
