Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / Molly Mae and Zoe Rae Clash Over Tommy Fury
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, the ugly
- 0:12Speaker 1: truth behind Molly May and Tommy Fury's reunion and Indy
- 0:16Speaker 1: Clinton's PR stunt is exposed. But first, Olivia Rogers' ex-husband,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Justin McKeon, has welcomed a baby boy with his bachelor
- 0:24Speaker 1: contestant girlfriend, Tani Leeson. I was really surprised when I
- 0:27Speaker 1: saw this announcement pop up on Instagram because he was
- 0:30Speaker 1: born nearly four weeks early. So Tani chose Mother's Day
- 0:34Speaker 1: to announce the arrival of Arlo Leeson-McKeon, who was born
- 0:37Speaker 1: on the 28th of April. Thoughts on the name, Soph?
- 0:40Speaker 1: I like the name. Amy has a couple of kids
- 0:43Speaker 1: in her friendship group with the name Arlo, and I've
- 0:45Speaker 1: always thought it was very cute. It's quite unique, but
- 0:49Speaker 1: then I don't think it's been overdone. Oh, see, I
- 0:51Speaker 1: actually think that there are so many Arlo's at the moment.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I mean, as you said, there's a few in Amy's
- 0:55Speaker 1: friendship group alone. I know a lot of dogs called Arlo.
- 0:58Speaker 1: And then Sarah's Day has recently had Harlo. So I
- 1:00Speaker 1: think it's a name that is very popular. And I
- 1:03Speaker 1: think there's going to be a lot of Arlo's in
- 1:04Speaker 1: our son's grades at school. I haven't seen it popping
- 1:07Speaker 1: up in the most popular boys names list though. So
- 1:10Speaker 1: I feel like maybe it was a name that was
- 1:11Speaker 1: quite popular a couple of years ago. I was surprised
- 1:15Speaker 1: they went with a hyphenated surname. I thought it might
- 1:17Speaker 1: just be McKeon. I really wasn't surprised by it at all.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I think it reflects where they are in their relationship.
- 1:22Speaker 1: They split up before the public announcement of this baby
- 1:26Speaker 1: news and seemed to get back together because of it.
- 1:29Speaker 1: They're not married. And I don't think that she perhaps
- 1:32Speaker 1: knows necessarily where she stands in this relationship going forward,
- 1:35Speaker 1: particularly with the fact that Justin may be going to
- 1:38Speaker 1: prison soon. Yeah, well, he is facing allegations of stealing
- 1:42Speaker 1: almost half a million dollars from his former employer. He
- 1:46Speaker 1: hasn't appeared at the last two hearings, so we don't
- 1:48Speaker 1: really know what's going on with that. And I found
- 1:51Speaker 1: it interesting because there was actually no reference to Justin
- 1:55Speaker 1: in Tani's announcement post. So she uploaded 12 photos in
- 1:58Speaker 1: a carousel. And Justin featured in the background of two
- 2:02Speaker 1: of them where he was supporting Tani throughout the labor.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So he was definitely at the labor, but there wasn't
- 2:07Speaker 1: a photo of him with his son and also with Tani.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I don't think that that is necessarily reflective of whether
- 2:14Speaker 1: they're together or not. I think that Tani and Justin
- 2:18Speaker 1: would realize that the media would jump on this photo
- 2:21Speaker 1: op and they would splash a photo of the three
- 2:24Speaker 1: of them all over their news website. So I think
- 2:27Speaker 1: by her posting alone, it doesn't attract as much attention.
- 2:30Speaker 1: But they already did a photo shoot when they announced
- 2:32Speaker 1: the pregnancy. Yeah, but I think now that the writing
- 2:35Speaker 1: is somewhat on the wall over this court case and
- 2:37Speaker 1: he's been a no-show, that he doesn't want to attract
- 2:41Speaker 1: even more attention to it. I totally disagree. The writing
- 2:43Speaker 1: was on the wall when they made the pregnancy announcement.
- 2:46Speaker 1: He had shut down his Instagram account. He actually returned
- 2:49Speaker 1: to Instagram to be a collaborator on this pregnancy announcement
- 2:53Speaker 1: post He's not a collaborator on the birth announcement. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but at the time, it was also looking like he
- 2:59Speaker 1: was going to try and fight these claims against him,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but subsequently he hasn't appeared in court. His legal team
- 3:04Speaker 1: have dropped him. But I don't think that's got anything
- 3:06Speaker 1: to do with it. I think that something potentially could
- 3:09Speaker 1: be going on with him and Tani because he hasn't
- 3:11Speaker 1: even commented on the post, which is unusual because he's
- 3:13Speaker 1: commented on her last three posts. It's a bit strange.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I mean, his Instagram bio says Arlo's dad in it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I just think it's a bit murky about what's going
- 3:23Speaker 1: on between them. And I feel really sorry for Tani
- 3:25Speaker 1: because she needs so much support at the moment. She
- 3:28Speaker 1: shared in the announcement post that it wasn't the best
- 3:31Speaker 1: entry into motherhood because Arlo was experiencing breathing difficulties shortly
- 3:35Speaker 1: after he was born and the poor thing had to
- 3:38Speaker 1: spend 10 days in the hospital. Fortunately, he's now home
- 3:41Speaker 1: and it's been two weeks and he's doing really well.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But Tani wrote, no one can prepare you to go
- 3:46Speaker 1: through the all-consuming and emotional experience of childbirth. only to
- 3:49Speaker 1: watch this tiny little boy being wheeled away from you
- 3:52Speaker 1: mere hours later. Then the hours upon hours I spent
- 3:55Speaker 1: in hospital just holding him in my arms, never wanting
- 3:58Speaker 1: to leave and crying when I had to. Hasn't this
- 4:00Speaker 1: poor girl gone through enough? It would be such a
- 4:02Speaker 1: difficult time with everything going on in the background with
- 4:05Speaker 1: Justin and then to have your baby arrive four weeks early.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I do wonder if since the birth of this child,
- 4:12Speaker 1: things have turned even more south with their relationship. I mean,
- 4:15Speaker 1: the baby Arlo was born on the 28th of April 2019.
- 4:18Speaker 1: She made the announcement on the 11th of May. That's
- 4:20Speaker 1: a couple of weeks in between. Maybe since he was born,
- 4:24Speaker 1: Justin has been absent and that's why she hasn't wanted
- 4:26Speaker 1: to include him in the Instagram. Yeah, look, I don't
- 4:28Speaker 1: want to speculate because it's obviously a really difficult time
- 4:31Speaker 1: for them. I mean, he was born in a Perth hospital,
- 4:34Speaker 1: which is where Justin, he's relocated from Melbourne to Perth.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Tani's been there with him. Mm-hmm. But yeah, I mean,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I hope things are okay with them. As I said,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Tani really needs the support at this time. I also
- 4:44Speaker 1: think potentially Justin is just wanting to keep an incredibly
- 4:47Speaker 1: low profile with everything going on. Again, I don't think
- 4:50Speaker 1: they should have done the pregnancy photo shoot because the
- 4:52Speaker 1: news are reporting on this and they're just using those photos.
- 4:55Speaker 2: How's it going?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Good. Very good. It's my first day. A video of
- 4:59Speaker 1: Indy Clinton supposedly meeting a co-worker at a new corporate
- 5:03Speaker 1: gig is going viral on TikTok. It comes a month
- 5:06Speaker 1: after an anonymous user uploaded a video of Indy appearing
- 5:09Speaker 1: to be in the middle of a job interview. So
- 5:11Speaker 1: this second TikTok has all but confirmed that this is
- 5:14Speaker 1: a publicity stunt. I mean, we all smelled a rat
- 5:17Speaker 1: when that first video went viral a month ago, but
- 5:19Speaker 1: this definitely removes any seed of doubt. In this new video,
- 5:23Speaker 1: the office worker just happened to be randomly filming herself
- 5:27Speaker 1: typing on the computer at work when her unexpected new co-worker,
- 5:31Speaker 1: aka Indy Clinton, sat down next to her And similar
- 5:35Speaker 1: to the last video, the interaction was uploaded to TikTok
- 5:38Speaker 1: by a supposed anonymous user whose account had no other posts. Now,
- 5:43Speaker 1: this did make sense for the initial video because the
- 5:47Speaker 1: office worker in that video was acting as though they
- 5:50Speaker 1: didn't want to be caught out by their boss for
- 5:52Speaker 1: secretly filming Indy in the middle of a job interview.
- 5:55Speaker 1: But in this case, the office worker clearly didn't care
- 5:59Speaker 1: about her identity being revealed because Her face was front
- 6:02Speaker 1: and center in this whole clip. None of it makes
- 6:05Speaker 1: sense because if we actually believed this first video that
- 6:08Speaker 1: came out, then surely that office worker would have been
- 6:11Speaker 1: hauled in by the boss and said, how dare you
- 6:13Speaker 1: share this video? People are not to be talking about it.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And there would have been discussion in the office. Okay,
- 6:19Speaker 1: Indy Clinton has this job. No one is to film her.
- 6:23Speaker 1: For this second video to come out, it's just so obvious. Yeah, well,
- 6:26Speaker 1: over the top of the video, the office worker wrote,
- 6:29Speaker 1: point of view, your new co-worker is Indy Clinton. Let's
- 6:33Speaker 1: have a listen to the awkward exchange between Indy and
- 6:37Speaker 1: this co-worker in the video. Hello. Hi.
- 6:42Speaker 2: How are you?
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm good. Are you new? Yeah, I'm Indy.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Oh, I'm Hannah. Hi, nice to meet you. How's it going?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Good. Very good. It's my first day. Is it? Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Are you on this team? Yeah. Oh, wow.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Do I know you from... I know. And now you
- 6:55Speaker 2: work here?
- 6:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, my God.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I know.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Do you know how to get into your computer? Yeah. Okay.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I've got the pin.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It's all sorted. Thank you. Cool.
- 7:02Speaker 1: No worries.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Are you going for lunch?
- 7:04Speaker 1: I think so, yeah. Okay.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Do you want to come? Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Okay. Do you mind?
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Anytime. No worries. Let me know if you need anything. Okay.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I love that Indy has her priorities right. She was
- 7:15Speaker 1: asking about what is happening for lunch even before she
- 7:18Speaker 1: was logged onto her computer. I mean, that's just good
- 7:20Speaker 1: office camaraderie. I still remember starting a job and they
- 7:23Speaker 1: set me up with this buddy who was meant to
- 7:25Speaker 1: look after me. And rather than taking me out to lunch,
- 7:28Speaker 1: it was her birthday and she went out to lunch
- 7:30Speaker 1: with all the other girls in the office and left
- 7:31Speaker 1: me by myself. That is just mean. I feel like
- 7:34Speaker 1: when anyone is new, you've got to let them come
- 7:36Speaker 1: along with you. You've got to introduce them to everyone. Now,
- 7:38Speaker 1: this video quickly attracted over 1.9 million views. 84,000 likes
- 7:43Speaker 1: and over 1,600 send-ons, so there was a massive reaction
- 7:47Speaker 1: to this video. However, I was surprised to see that
- 7:50Speaker 1: not everyone cottoned on to the fact that this is
- 7:53Speaker 1: a marketing stunt that we're all watching unfold. One user wrote,
- 7:57Speaker 1: imagine Indie just trying to fit in and see her
- 7:59Speaker 1: co-worker posted a video of her on her first day, lol.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And that comment got over 5,000 likes. Whilst another said,
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm sure Indie is thrilled to be filmed without her knowledge.
- 8:10Speaker 1: While another said, does she know you did this? Just wondering.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I mean, you can see why marketing campaigns like this work.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I mean, we're all saying, oh, it's so obvious that
- 8:18Speaker 1: it's a PR stunt, but we've got a background in
- 8:20Speaker 1: PR and marketing. When it comes to TikTok, there's not
- 8:23Speaker 1: a lot of background on things. So people just take
- 8:25Speaker 1: this sort of stuff verbatim. Well, there were a lot
- 8:27Speaker 1: of followers who were commenting their concern for some people
- 8:30Speaker 1: having no critical thinking skills. One user wrote, come on, guys,
- 8:34Speaker 1: you've got to find a way to decipher real versus
- 8:36Speaker 1: stage videos. Now, most people did say cotton on to
- 8:39Speaker 1: the fact that this is a publicity stunt and thought
- 8:41Speaker 1: that this was marketing genius. One user wrote, the marketing
- 8:44Speaker 1: girlies know this is a teaser, but we stand regardless.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I mean, it's pretty clear that the marketing team were
- 8:50Speaker 1: trying to drop more clues in this video because you
- 8:52Speaker 1: could tell that the office had something to do with
- 8:55Speaker 1: skincare or cosmetics because they were shelves bursting with products
- 8:58Speaker 1: in the background. And as we did predict last month,
- 9:01Speaker 1: this has all the telltale signs of a TBH skincare
- 9:04Speaker 1: stunt because In early 2024, Indie was accused of being
- 9:08Speaker 1: involved in a different PR stunt with the brand, and
- 9:11Speaker 1: that's when she accidentally leaked one of their unreleased products
- 9:14Speaker 1: in a daily vlog. So that leak got a lot
- 9:17Speaker 1: of media attention. It actually created unprecedented exposure for the brand.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And TBH had a very sleek PR response on TikTok,
- 9:25Speaker 1: which made people dubious. One of their most popular videos
- 9:28Speaker 1: showed the marketing manager calling up TBH's founder, Rachel Wild,
- 9:32Speaker 1: and breaking the news to her. And then the team
- 9:35Speaker 1: claimed to have this emergency meeting the next day and
- 9:38Speaker 1: they brought the launch forward. And that ended up actually
- 9:42Speaker 1: being TBH's most successful product launch due to all of
- 9:45Speaker 1: the exposure basically from the media about this idiot influencer
- 9:49Speaker 1: who leaked the the new brand to everyone. Yeah, they're
- 9:52Speaker 1: very well known for their guerrilla marketing tactics. In terms
- 9:55Speaker 1: of what's going on with this publicity stunt, is Clear
- 9:59Speaker 1: Indie is releasing a line or a product through tbh
- 10:02Speaker 1: and it seems like the company have been so kind
- 10:05Speaker 1: to throw us an easter egg so When I first
- 10:07Speaker 1: looked at the TikTok username, I thought it was just
- 10:09Speaker 1: some random numbers and letters. But no, super sleuths have
- 10:13Speaker 1: realized that it's a clue about the product's release date.
- 10:16Speaker 1: So the username is B27052025H. So that gives us the
- 10:19Speaker 1: release date of the 27th of May, 2025. This is
- 10:26Speaker 1: what I call marketing genius. There is also a secondary
- 10:29Speaker 1: clue in there. So the TikTok username started with a
- 10:32Speaker 1: B and ended with an H, which funnily enough, that's
- 10:34Speaker 1: my husband's initials. Oh, is he on this? He has
- 10:36Speaker 1: nothing to do with this. So Influencer Updates has cracked
- 10:39Speaker 1: the code for us on this one. She shared that
- 10:42Speaker 1: she believes the BH stands for Boof Hair. And she
- 10:46Speaker 1: then shared a follow-up screenshot of Boof Hair's new Instagram account,
- 10:50Speaker 1: which happens to only follow TBH's founder, Rachel Wild. Oh, wow.
- 10:55Speaker 1: And so far, the account has only three posts. So
- 10:58Speaker 1: one of the posts is a video showing a clock
- 11:01Speaker 1: ticking with the caption, set your alarms for the 27th
- 11:04Speaker 1: of May, 2025. So again, it reiterates that launch date
- 11:08Speaker 1: in the TikTok username. The second post shows someone's hair
- 11:12Speaker 1: being brushed. And the third is a close-up shot of
- 11:15Speaker 1: red packaging with the caption, did your hair go poof?
- 11:18Speaker 1: We're here to make it go boof. Now, to me,
- 11:21Speaker 1: it sounds like this product is potentially for postpartum hair loss,
- 11:26Speaker 1: which would make Indy, who is a mum of three,
- 11:28Speaker 1: the perfect face for it. God. I mean, I hope
- 11:30Speaker 1: it's a good product because I am experiencing that at
- 11:32Speaker 1: the moment and it is a pain in the ass. Yeah, well,
- 11:36Speaker 1: I mean, I haven't given birth yet and my hair
- 11:37Speaker 1: is in the best condition that it's been in for
- 11:39Speaker 1: a while. Enjoy that. And I know that it's just
- 11:42Speaker 1: going to snap off instantly when I give birth or
- 11:44Speaker 1: I stop breastfeeding. The worst bit is I always just
- 11:47Speaker 1: pull my hair back now and then I've got these
- 11:49Speaker 1: little bits that just will not pull back. They look
- 11:51Speaker 1: ridiculous and I don't have time. to blow dry my
- 11:53Speaker 1: hair either. So they're just, it's just very unruly. Well,
- 11:56Speaker 1: on the Instagram account, there is a link to Boof's
- 11:58Speaker 1: new website and it takes you to a landing page,
- 12:01Speaker 1: which says, hi, you've reached Boof. We're not available right now,
- 12:04Speaker 1: but if you leave your email and telephone number, we'll
- 12:06Speaker 1: be in touch. And it then asks the public to
- 12:09Speaker 1: subscribe to be the first to find out about the
- 12:11Speaker 1: new haircare line. So I am guessing that Indy is
- 12:15Speaker 1: the face of this new line. I don't necessarily think
- 12:17Speaker 1: she has a financial stake in this business, but I
- 12:20Speaker 1: think that this whole marketing campaign has been genius because
- 12:25Speaker 1: when else would we be talking about the fact that
- 12:27Speaker 1: TBH is launching a new haircare line? Who really cares? Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Hats off to them. Everyone is playing along at home.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I've really enjoyed it. It will be interesting to see
- 12:34Speaker 1: if that converts to sales like it did for the
- 12:37Speaker 1: original publicity stunt with Indy Clinton.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I actually don't hate you in the slightest. I feel
- 12:43Speaker 2: like you actually hate me.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Molly Mae and Tommy Fury are officially back together. Molly
- 12:48Speaker 1: broke the worst kept secret in part two of her
- 12:50Speaker 1: prime doco behind it all. While fans were thrilled about
- 12:53Speaker 1: the reconciliation, one member of the family couldn't hide their
- 12:57Speaker 1: true feelings. Molly's older sister Zoe Ray is not happy
- 13:01Speaker 1: about the reunion. No, and she didn't hold back, sharing
- 13:04Speaker 1: her concerns directly with her sister and also the world.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So Zoe was up front saying that she didn't believe
- 13:10Speaker 1: Tommy had resolved his issues with alcohol. And she said
- 13:13Speaker 1: that she hoped her sister would make the right decision
- 13:16Speaker 1: and feared their relationship would be damaged if she got
- 13:19Speaker 1: back with the boxer. Molly Mae also conceded to the
- 13:22Speaker 1: film crew that navigating her relationship with Zoe was the
- 13:25Speaker 1: trickiest it had ever been. A lot of people have
- 13:27Speaker 1: described Zoe as the hero of this documentary for being
- 13:31Speaker 1: the only person to give it straight to Molly Mae. Oh,
- 13:35Speaker 1: you can tell that Molly Mae is just surrounded by
- 13:38Speaker 1: yes people. And Zoe is the only person that has
- 13:41Speaker 1: the balls to say, hey, I don't think that this
- 13:44Speaker 1: is a good idea. Everyone is talking about the scene
- 13:47Speaker 1: in the car with the sisters, which I think is
- 13:49Speaker 1: probably one of the most relatable scenes of this whole documentary.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Last time they were in the car singing to the
- 13:54Speaker 1: Saddle Club theme song. This time they were having a
- 13:57Speaker 1: heated argument about Molly's relationship with Tommy and off the
- 14:00Speaker 1: back of that much publicised New Year's Eve kiss. Isn't
- 14:03Speaker 1: that just sisterhood? One day you're singing in the Saddle Club,
- 14:06Speaker 1: next day you're having a big argument. You know what?
- 14:07Speaker 1: It doesn't even have to be a different day. It
- 14:09Speaker 1: can be within half an hour of each other. Well,
- 14:11Speaker 1: on the topic of that New Year's kiss, I love
- 14:13Speaker 1: seeing behind the scenes of the crisis phone call with Fran.
- 14:17Speaker 1: You could tell that she was so embarrassed. She looked
- 14:19Speaker 1: a bit sheepish about the whole thing. Oh, she did.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And it's like she didn't want to admit to anyone.
- 14:23Speaker 1: She said, oh, Tommy was only there for 10 minutes
- 14:25Speaker 1: at the end, which kind of made it sound even worse. Oh, yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 1: because there was this whole rhetoric online that they'd been
- 14:30Speaker 1: seen flirting all night she's like that's not true he
- 14:33Speaker 1: literally arrived like 10 minutes before the countdown which i'm
- 14:36Speaker 1: like babe it kind of makes it look worse yeah
- 14:38Speaker 1: he only took him 10 minutes to persuade you to
- 14:40Speaker 1: have this new year's eve kiss in front of all
- 14:42Speaker 1: of these people also how molly trusted everyone that was
- 14:45Speaker 1: there at the party but then it still ended up
- 14:47Speaker 1: in the press i felt really sorry for her How
- 14:50Speaker 1: good was it when Fran told her to go pour
- 14:52Speaker 1: herself a stiff drink and she got out a fruit box?
- 14:55Speaker 1: This is what makes her so relatable at the end
- 14:57Speaker 1: of the day. You could tell Zoe wasn't too happy
- 14:59Speaker 1: about it because she gave up her New Year's Eve
- 15:01Speaker 1: to babysit Bambi so Molly could go to this party.
- 15:04Speaker 1: And she ended up kissing Tommy, who she's not happy with. Yeah,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and she threw it in her face in the car
- 15:08Speaker 1: like all good sisters do. And she asked Molly if
- 15:11Speaker 1: she regretted it or felt embarrassed. And I was like,
- 15:14Speaker 1: oh my God, that is not going to end well. Yeah, well,
- 15:17Speaker 1: I feel sorry for Zoe because as she said, she's
- 15:19Speaker 1: just sick of having to be the one to pick
- 15:21Speaker 1: up the pieces. Let's throw in more of that exchange.
- 15:24Speaker 2: We just maybe don't speak about it. No, I don't
- 15:26Speaker 2: feel comfortable not talking about it because sisters need to
- 15:28Speaker 2: be able to tell each other everything. Right, so then
- 15:30Speaker 2: I need to be able to tell you the good,
- 15:31Speaker 2: bad and the ugly. Your relationship and how you feel
- 15:34Speaker 2: and how you are with Tommy is my only concern.
- 15:37Speaker 1: But what a lovely life that you have.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I know, I know. Nothing I do will say she
- 15:41Speaker 2: was going to change. what you do or your opinion
- 15:44Speaker 2: or how you feel towards him. Correct. And you know what, Zoe,
- 15:47Speaker 2: that's the wisest thing I think you've ever said. I
- 15:50Speaker 2: know at some point, Molly, in the next year, however
- 15:52Speaker 2: long it is, there will be a time where unfortunately,
- 15:54Speaker 2: and I hate to say it, you probably will be
- 15:56Speaker 2: upset again.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I've seen a bit of a mixed response around Molly
- 16:00Speaker 1: saying to Zoe, well, what a lovely life you have
- 16:02Speaker 1: if that's your only worry. And people are saying, oh, well,
- 16:04Speaker 1: it's actually very commendable of Zoe to be concerned about
- 16:07Speaker 1: Molly and her relationship. But as someone who has sisters,
- 16:10Speaker 1: I read that line differently. Because I think that Molly
- 16:14Speaker 1: feels very judged by Zoe. And she is saying to her, well,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you're coming from this position of having this very healthy,
- 16:22Speaker 1: happy relationship. I mean, Zoe recently got married. And her
- 16:27Speaker 1: life probably to Molly seems very easy and picture perfect.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Very stable. Yeah, very stable. And Molly's saying, well, I'm
- 16:33Speaker 1: so sorry that you've got everything put together and I don't. Yeah,
- 16:36Speaker 1: I feel bad for Zoe because she's been copying some
- 16:38Speaker 1: backlash on TikTok. People are complaining that she needs to
- 16:40Speaker 1: back off and let Molly live her own life. It's clear,
- 16:44Speaker 1: as you said, Sophie, that those people don't have sisters
- 16:46Speaker 1: because someone who understands that sister dynamic is Zoe just
- 16:49Speaker 1: wants what's best for Molly and it's not Tommy. I mean,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'm sad to say that because I've always loved Tommy
- 16:55Speaker 1: and Molly together, but it's quite clear that he's really
- 16:59Speaker 1: hurt her and I think she's just taking him back
- 17:01Speaker 1: way too quickly. I can see it from Molly's perspective though,
- 17:05Speaker 1: because I've been in that scenario where you really want
- 17:07Speaker 1: to take someone back and you're in the position, because
- 17:10Speaker 1: I almost feel like Molly's in the position where she's
- 17:12Speaker 1: been somewhat begging Tommy, even though it really should be
- 17:15Speaker 1: the other way around. And you feel embarrassed because you
- 17:19Speaker 1: know that everyone's judging you for it, but that's what
- 17:21Speaker 1: your heart wants, even though it doesn't seem right. Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I mean, again, I've been in a toxic relationship in
- 17:27Speaker 1: my early twenties and I dated someone who treated me terribly.
- 17:30Speaker 1: And you guys were very much in Zoe's position where
- 17:33Speaker 1: you hated him and you were well within your rights too.
- 17:35Speaker 1: But when you actually care about the person, you end
- 17:38Speaker 1: up forgiving them. Well, that's the worst thing as a
- 17:40Speaker 1: sister when you can just see that someone is bad news. Yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 1: But the thing is you forgive them, but your sisters don't.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So that's the position that Zoe's in. She's heard all
- 17:49Speaker 1: of this terrible stuff that Tommy has done because Molly said,
- 17:51Speaker 1: I've told her everything and she can't forgive him. And
- 17:53Speaker 1: she doesn't have to. Yeah. For Zoe, she doesn't have
- 17:55Speaker 1: the emotional buy-in of being part of that relationship. So
- 17:58Speaker 1: she can see it for what it is. But being
- 18:00Speaker 1: in Molly's shoes, Zoe's behavior is then pushing her away
- 18:03Speaker 1: and into the arms of Tommy. And I feel like
- 18:05Speaker 1: Tommy is almost using that to his advantage. And Zoe's
- 18:09Speaker 1: a bit of a scapegoat at the moment. It's like, oh,
- 18:11Speaker 1: Zoe's the one that's keeping us apart and she's the
- 18:13Speaker 1: baddie when she's not. Yeah, it definitely feels that way.
- 18:16Speaker 1: And it was quite interesting because Zoe said to Molly,
- 18:19Speaker 1: when things are good between you and Tommy, I don't
- 18:21Speaker 1: hear from you at all, but when things are bad,
- 18:24Speaker 1: you need me around. And there was a lot of
- 18:26Speaker 1: frustration there. And I think that a lot of people
- 18:28Speaker 1: have experienced that with friends or siblings before when you
- 18:32Speaker 1: sort of get put on the back burner and when
- 18:34Speaker 1: everything's going fine and dandy for them. And then suddenly
- 18:37Speaker 1: they want you around when things have gone to shit.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And you can see why Zoe is so invested because
- 18:41Speaker 1: she's the one when Bambi was first born, when Tommy
- 18:44Speaker 1: fucked off to a boxing camp that was there with
- 18:47Speaker 1: Molly looking after this newborn baby for weeks. That was
- 18:50Speaker 1: all very fascinating because on the documentary, they shared a
- 18:52Speaker 1: couple of clips of Molly when she was first postpartum
- 18:55Speaker 1: and sharing about how much she struggled with motherhood in
- 18:58Speaker 1: those early days. And I forgot the fact that Tommy
- 19:01Speaker 1: literally left the first week of Bambi's life to go
- 19:05Speaker 1: on this camp. And Zoe actually moved into the house
- 19:08Speaker 1: and was there full time with Molly.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It seems like she's really taken on the father figure,
- 19:12Speaker 1: which we saw when they were organizing Bambi's birthday party.
- 19:16Speaker 1: So I loved it. They had the theme of the
- 19:18Speaker 1: tiger who comes to tea. It's actually one of Jack's
- 19:20Speaker 1: favorite books. I was really excited to see all the decorations. Anyway,
- 19:23Speaker 1: in the book, there's obviously a tiger who comes to tea.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And Zoe's like, oh, is Tommy going to dress up
- 19:27Speaker 1: as the tiger? Yeah. or should I buy the outfit?
- 19:31Speaker 1: And then Molly was really awkward because you could tell
- 19:33Speaker 1: she really wanted Tommy to come. Oh, she was desperate
- 19:36Speaker 1: for him to be there. Betty was using it as
- 19:37Speaker 1: an excuse like, oh, I haven't caught up with your
- 19:39Speaker 1: family and Zoe doesn't like me. So then Zoe ended
- 19:42Speaker 1: up dressing up as the tiger. And it's so heartbreaking
- 19:45Speaker 1: because you can see that Bambi thinks it's Tommy. And
- 19:48Speaker 1: then when she puts her head up and Zoe is revealed,
- 19:50Speaker 1: Bambi's like, daddy, like she looks so disappointed. That was
- 19:53Speaker 1: heartbreaking to watch because there was a scene when during
- 19:57Speaker 1: the birthday party, Molly lost it and she had to
- 19:59Speaker 1: remove herself from the party and go upstairs and cry.
- 20:03Speaker 1: And I just felt like it was a bit of
- 20:05Speaker 1: a cop-out from Tommy. It is so clear that there
- 20:07Speaker 1: is more than just alcohol at play for this breakup.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I mean, reading between the lines, it sounds like a
- 20:13Speaker 1: lot of the rumours about his behaviour at nightclubs is
- 20:16Speaker 1: true and maybe there was some cheating involved because why
- 20:19Speaker 1: else would you not want to front up to see
- 20:21Speaker 1: someone's family. He has clearly fucked up big time. I've
- 20:25Speaker 1: also seen some speculation that people think that he may
- 20:28Speaker 1: have ruined Zoe's wedding. Maybe he acted really terribly at that. Well,
- 20:32Speaker 1: because he got very drunk at that, didn't he? Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 1: There was also a very tense scene in the kitchen
- 20:37Speaker 1: when Molly was baking a cake for Bambi's birthday. So
- 20:40Speaker 1: Zoe and their mum and grandma were all there. And
- 20:42Speaker 1: she dropped this comment. It was pretty rogue about how oh,
- 20:46Speaker 1: she'll have to have a second baby because Bambi loves
- 20:49Speaker 1: kids so much. And you could just tell Zoe was like,
- 20:52Speaker 1: what the fuck? Like it went down like an absolute
- 20:54Speaker 1: lead balloon. And she was like, hang on. But remember
- 20:56Speaker 1: you said this was like, this isn't how it was
- 20:59Speaker 1: going to be. Well, there's an interesting element to that though,
- 21:02Speaker 1: because Tommy is part of a traveler family and it
- 21:06Speaker 1: really seemed like he was the one pushing to have
- 21:09Speaker 1: children very young. Whereas Molly said she would have been
- 21:12Speaker 1: happy to have them when she was in her thirties.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I mean, I think we forget that Molly and Tommy
- 21:16Speaker 1: are only 25 and 26, which also probably explains some
- 21:20Speaker 1: of the immature behavior that's going on. But it seems like,
- 21:23Speaker 1: you know, when you feel like your friend or sibling
- 21:25Speaker 1: has been infiltrated by their ex and they're clearly doing
- 21:27Speaker 1: things to impress them, it's almost like Molly is bargaining
- 21:30Speaker 1: with him being like, if we get back together, let's
- 21:33Speaker 1: have more children that will solve the problem. Yeah. Well,
- 21:35Speaker 1: it's bizarre that it seems like that she's the one
- 21:37Speaker 1: bargaining with him because The whole reason she left Tommy
- 21:41Speaker 1: was because she needed to be like, nah, I'm putting
- 21:43Speaker 1: my foot down. Your behavior is not acceptable. But as
- 21:45Speaker 1: you said, there does appear to be this back and
- 21:48Speaker 1: forth where she never really stood up for herself. She's
- 21:51Speaker 1: been having little sleepovers because in part one of the doco,
- 21:54Speaker 1: it was kind of like, oh, we're not sure if
- 21:56Speaker 1: we're going to get back together. But it was clear
- 21:59Speaker 1: she desperately wanted him back. Yeah. I felt like she
- 22:01Speaker 1: had a bit more hand in part one, but by
- 22:02Speaker 1: part two, she's there ringing him on her shoot in
- 22:05Speaker 1: Switzerland and she says, I love you. And then he
- 22:08Speaker 1: hangs up and she has to ring him back to
- 22:09Speaker 1: get confirmation that he also loves her too. That's the thing.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I feel like there was a bit skipped over within that.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I think the documentary makers knew that the hardcore Molly
- 22:18Speaker 1: Mae fans would be across what she was sharing on
- 22:20Speaker 1: her YouTube because she has been teasing that they've been
- 22:23Speaker 1: having sleepovers and obviously their holiday that they've recently gone on.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But if you were going in blind, you'd be like,
- 22:28Speaker 1: hold on a second, I've missed something. Why are they
- 22:30Speaker 1: suddenly back together? And There was a scene when she
- 22:33Speaker 1: was speaking to a psychologist about how she's been coping
- 22:36Speaker 1: with the breakup. And she said to the psychologist, oh, sorry,
- 22:40Speaker 1: he keeps calling me, but I'm going to leave him
- 22:43Speaker 1: waiting because he takes days to get back to me.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And I thought that was very insightful because, as you say,
- 22:49Speaker 1: he's the one that's fucked up. he should be chasing her,
- 22:53Speaker 1: not the other way around. Yeah. It just seems like
- 22:55Speaker 1: they never really cut ties properly, but it was all
- 22:58Speaker 1: kind of for show to the media. Like I don't think,
- 23:00Speaker 1: I don't think it's a PR stunt at all because
- 23:02Speaker 1: I think that this is just bad PR for them
- 23:04Speaker 1: because originally they were couple goals on Instagram and I've
- 23:07Speaker 1: always wanted to see them get back together because I
- 23:09Speaker 1: love them on Love Island and they seemed so perfect
- 23:12Speaker 1: for each other. But this doco has really broken that illusion.
- 23:16Speaker 1: And I think the Molly Mae fan in me, I
- 23:19Speaker 1: just want Molly to be happy. And Yeah, it seems
- 23:21Speaker 1: like maybe she'll be happy at the moment that they're
- 23:24Speaker 1: back together and having a family together. And I do
- 23:27Speaker 1: truly hope it works out for them. But I think
- 23:30Speaker 1: the cynic in me and someone who's had, you know,
- 23:32Speaker 1: I mean, a 36 now had a bit more life
- 23:35Speaker 1: experience knows I think it's going to play out the
- 23:37Speaker 1: way Zoe is saying it's not going to end well. Yeah,
- 23:40Speaker 1: it seems like a bit of a bandaid over the situation.
- 23:43Speaker 1: And in the final episode, she told the camera that
- 23:46Speaker 1: she knows it's going to be rocky and there's going
- 23:47Speaker 1: to be ups and downs. So she's almost predicting all
- 23:50Speaker 1: of that. Going back to your point about people thinking
- 23:53Speaker 1: that this is a publicity stunt, I totally agree. I
- 23:55Speaker 1: don't think that this is a publicity stunt at all.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I think she was using the media and people's reactions
- 24:02Speaker 1: to punish Tommy. That was her way of saying, I'm
- 24:05Speaker 1: not standing for this behavior anymore. Not so much punish him,
- 24:07Speaker 1: but to say like, this is serious. Away from the
- 24:10Speaker 1: relationship drama, I found it fascinating hearing Molly talk about
- 24:13Speaker 1: her self-confidence. So She was backstage at this L'Oreal fashion
- 24:17Speaker 1: parade in Paris and they were basically begging her to
- 24:20Speaker 1: appear on the runway. And she was like, no, no, no,
- 24:22Speaker 1: it's not for me. I just loved it how she's like,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I've actually had a baby recently. And then she's like, actually,
- 24:28Speaker 1: that's not true, Bambi's two. And she said she's going
- 24:30Speaker 1: to be using that excuse until Bambi's 16 for not
- 24:32Speaker 1: being in shape. It's sad because you can tell that
- 24:34Speaker 1: she's not confident in herself at the moment. I feel
- 24:37Speaker 1: like they kept using all of these shots of Kendall
- 24:40Speaker 1: Jenner on the runway to drive home the pressures of
- 24:43Speaker 1: body image issues. in the industry and how because I
- 24:47Speaker 1: mean you look at Molly she's an absolutely stunning girl
- 24:50Speaker 1: but then when you look at the types of bodies
- 24:52Speaker 1: we are seeing on the catwalk you can size zero
- 24:55Speaker 1: is definitely back I mean the ironic thing is the
- 24:59Speaker 1: whole fashion show was supposed to be about promoting different
- 25:02Speaker 1: body types and she said it's sad because she just
- 25:05Speaker 1: doesn't feel confident or comfortable doing that. Yeah. It was
- 25:08Speaker 1: so shocking also when they showed the photos of what
- 25:11Speaker 1: Molly Mae used to look like right after being on
- 25:13Speaker 1: Love Island with all the filler. She looked like a
- 25:16Speaker 1: cartoon character. I couldn't get over it. I don't actually
- 25:18Speaker 1: remember her looking like that. Yeah, there were some scenes
- 25:20Speaker 1: from her vlogs and, I mean, I've been watching her
- 25:22Speaker 1: vlogs ever since she left Love Island and I was like,
- 25:25Speaker 1: did she really look like that? Like it was weird
- 25:26Speaker 1: to see her with Tommy because she's had this amazing
- 25:29Speaker 1: transformation and And she was really one of the first
- 25:31Speaker 1: influencers to actually have her filler removed. I think she
- 25:35Speaker 1: really sparked a trend. I mean, we saw a lot
- 25:37Speaker 1: of influencers in Australia jumping on board, like Shani Grimman.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I think Skye Wheatley also got hers. I mean, she
- 25:43Speaker 1: had filler back in, but they were really dulling it
- 25:45Speaker 1: down a bit. I think also the makeup was quite
- 25:48Speaker 1: shocking for me because Molly May now has this very
- 25:52Speaker 1: stripped back, clean girl look. I mean, I suppose it's
- 25:54Speaker 1: also just the change in what is popular makeup wise,
- 25:57Speaker 1: but It looked like she'd been shot in the face
- 25:59Speaker 1: in some of those Love Island days. Again, she was
- 26:02Speaker 1: only 21 and that was really the look of, I
- 26:06Speaker 1: don't know, 2016, 2017. Every woman that was on YouTube
- 26:08Speaker 1: felt like they had to be some sort of makeup
- 26:10Speaker 1: artist and do the cut creases and the– over-the-top eyeshadow.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I think one of the turning points for Molly was
- 26:16Speaker 1: when she started to get trolled and be compared to Quagmire. Well,
- 26:20Speaker 1: she didn't actually know who Quagmire was, and it was
- 26:22Speaker 1: the producers who said, oh, have a Google and look
- 26:25Speaker 1: at what he looks like. That was a great moment
- 26:26Speaker 1: in the documentary. She's like, oh yeah, I can see that.
- 26:29Speaker 1: She actually said that she could really see the Xbox controller.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And it was at that point I'm like, wow, she's
- 26:34Speaker 1: really removed from this whole situation. I wonder if it's
- 26:36Speaker 1: because It's almost like looking at a different person because
- 26:39Speaker 1: I didn't recognize her. I think it's because that image
- 26:41Speaker 1: of herself seemed like it was from so long ago
- 26:43Speaker 1: and she doesn't associate with that person anymore. It would
- 26:46Speaker 1: be different if she couldn't reverse a lot of those procedures.
- 26:50Speaker 1: It's lucky that they were just filler and Botox, which
- 26:53Speaker 1: you can remove. Well, she actually ended up thanking Zoe
- 26:56Speaker 1: and saying she was the one that told her the
- 26:57Speaker 1: truth about, hey, you know, this doesn't actually look great.
- 27:00Speaker 1: It looked a lot better before. Now, the same day
- 27:03Speaker 1: the doco dropped, Tommy ended up winning his fight in
- 27:06Speaker 1: his boxing return after an 18-month hiatus due to an injury,
- 27:10Speaker 1: and he ended up dedicating the win to Molly May.
- 27:12Speaker 1: This is what he said. I just want to say
- 27:15Speaker 1: thank you for this victory to my Lord and Saviour
- 27:17Speaker 1: Jesus Christ. Without him, none of this would be possible.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I want to say hello to my beautiful baby girl
- 27:22Speaker 1: Bambi at home, my sweetheart Molly. She'll always be mine forever.
- 27:26Speaker 1: This brings me back to the era when Tommy had
- 27:29Speaker 1: Molly and his soft toy elephant, Ellie Belly as an
- 27:34Speaker 1: emblem on his boxing uniform. And I was like, oh,
- 27:36Speaker 1: my God, this guy is totally whipped, but clearly not. Yeah,
- 27:39Speaker 1: this is why I'm so torn about them getting back
- 27:41Speaker 1: together because there was that really sweet side where they
- 27:43Speaker 1: seemed to really get each other's sense of humour. He
- 27:46Speaker 1: was really around the soft toy characters that she had. Also,
- 27:49Speaker 1: he was loud and proud that he was with her. Well,
- 27:52Speaker 1: it's going to be really interesting to see how it
- 27:54Speaker 1: all plays out because Tommy's got his own BBC documentary
- 27:57Speaker 1: coming out called Tommy the Good, the Bad, the Fury.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And apparently we get to go behind the scenes as
- 28:03Speaker 1: he gets his career back on track and also his life.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And they have teased it's going to explore his love
- 28:08Speaker 1: life with Molly Mae. That is one thing that surprised
- 28:11Speaker 1: me about part two. I thought that Tommy might've popped
- 28:13Speaker 1: up in maybe the last episode of this series and
- 28:17Speaker 1: we might've seen them together. Clearly he was saving it
- 28:19Speaker 1: for this documentary. I question how much reality we're going
- 28:22Speaker 1: to get from Tommy's documentary because we heard Zoe's coming
- 28:26Speaker 1: back at Molly, basically saying, you know, I was there
- 28:28Speaker 1: for the nights when you couldn't sleep and you're phoning
- 28:31Speaker 1: me up, inferring that those were times when Tommy was
- 28:34Speaker 1: out and about and she didn't know who he was with.
- 28:36Speaker 1: We're not going to be seeing that, are we? Well, no,
- 28:39Speaker 1: because it is a post-breakup doco. I think we're going
- 28:42Speaker 1: to hear a lot about his problems with alcohol, but
- 28:45Speaker 1: I don't think we're going to hear about how they
- 28:48Speaker 1: caused other issues. They're going to try and give him
- 28:51Speaker 1: a redemption arc where we see him really work through
- 28:53Speaker 1: his mental health and become this guy that Molly has
- 28:57Speaker 1: always dreamt that he'll be. But I don't know if
- 29:00Speaker 1: everyone will buy it. No, well, that doco is coming
- 29:03Speaker 1: out later this year. And I think we'll need another
- 29:04Speaker 1: girls night to dissect it all and enjoy it. Yeah,
- 29:07Speaker 1: we had everyone over to my house on Friday night
- 29:10Speaker 1: as soon as the Molly May documentary dropped. It was
- 29:13Speaker 1: so much fun. I just wish there were more episodes.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I know everyone is saying, oh, this isn't really a documentary.
- 29:17Speaker 1: It's a reality show. And as a reality show fan,
- 29:20Speaker 1: I loved every second of it. I don't care if
- 29:22Speaker 1: it was fickle or if there wasn't much to it.
- 29:25Speaker 1: One thing we haven't spoken about, I know you do
- 29:27Speaker 1: want to go, Kate, but is the horse riding scene. Oh,
- 29:30Speaker 1: I was really shaken by that. I was like, God,
- 29:33Speaker 1: that could have ended really badly. For some reason, I
- 29:36Speaker 1: don't know if you felt this too, Molly seemed to
- 29:38Speaker 1: have Princess Diana vibes throughout this documentary. One, because the
- 29:41Speaker 1: paparazzi kept following her everywhere. They followed her to her
- 29:45Speaker 1: horse riding lessons. And I have to say that I
- 29:48Speaker 1: felt like they were to blame for the reaction of
- 29:50Speaker 1: the horse. Oh, definitely. Because they were snapping photos of
- 29:53Speaker 1: her on this horse. And this looked like a thoroughbred.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It didn't look like just some, you know, pony that
- 29:57Speaker 1: you'd practice on. This horse went nuts and she fell
- 30:01Speaker 1: off and looked like she whacked into... Yeah, well, she
- 30:03Speaker 1: was thrown off, really. Yeah, I was shocked she was
- 30:06Speaker 1: okay after that incident. And she got back up on
- 30:08Speaker 1: the horse as well. Yeah, as the saying goes. But yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 1: the paparazzi really seem to be to blame for that.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And they seem to be absolutely hounding her in a
- 30:15Speaker 1: similar way that they hounded Princess Diana. I also think
- 30:18Speaker 1: I got Princess Diana vibes because of the photo shoot
- 30:20Speaker 1: she did in Switzerland when she was on the ski slopes.
- 30:22Speaker 1: And that's again... where Princess Diana was hounded. Also, I
- 30:26Speaker 1: think because at the time of Molly and Tommy's breakup
- 30:28Speaker 1: back in August, the media compared their breakup to Princess
- 30:32Speaker 1: Diana and Prince Charles, which some are questioning and saying
- 30:34Speaker 1: that that's just ridiculous. Sophie, I'm going to wrap you
- 30:37Speaker 1: up because I feel like you could talk about this
- 30:38Speaker 1: doco for the rest of the day. Thank you for
- 30:41Speaker 1: tuning into another episode of Outspoken. We do really appreciate
