- 1:11Speaker 1: feedback about that episode and we highly recommend you give
- 1:14Speaker 1: it a listen. If you enjoyed this podcast, we would

- 1:39Speaker 2: We want your emails to. It's Megan Andwindy at gmail
- 1:43Speaker 2: dot com.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Do you have a synopsis of this week's movie?
- 1:49Speaker 2: You know this week? I'm actually prepared. It's pulled up
- 1:52Speaker 2: up and are you ready? I am okay about Chasing Waterfalls.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Photographer Amy travels to a remote lodge to find mythical
- 2:00Speaker 2: waterfalls and falls for a handsome guide Mark, They adventure
- 2:06Speaker 2: to find the mystic waterfall and discover their true feelings.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Stars Cindy Busby and Christopher Russell.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Time for some news and notes.
- 2:16Speaker 2: There were not many, no, but right before.
- 2:19Speaker 1: This movie came out, I saw a discussion on Twitter
- 2:21Speaker 1: where people were like, what is Hallmark doing? Chasing Waterfalls
- 2:25Speaker 1: doesn't mean what they think it means.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Oh like the actual wing the song Chasing Waterfalls doesn't
- 2:33Speaker 2: mean yes, like when it's not literal.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Well so in this of course it's not literal, but
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's also I think in this movie they mean it
- 2:43Speaker 1: to mean like chase your dreams, right, But that's not
- 2:47Speaker 1: what TLC meant when TLC saying chasing waterfalls. And you
- 2:53Speaker 1: could make the argument that they weren't referencing TLC except
- 2:55Speaker 1: that they played the song in the trailer. I honestly
- 2:58Speaker 1: never even noticed it in the movie.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It was not in the movie.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Okay, good, Chasing waterfalls to TLC meant like, don't go
- 3:06Speaker 1: chasing troublesome endeavors, Like the song is about like drug
- 3:11Speaker 1: use and casual sex and how that's basically gonna lead
- 3:14Speaker 1: to prison and death. So yeah, just a little side
- 3:18Speaker 1: note that they have rewritten the meaning of chasing waterfalls
- 3:21Speaker 1: in this particular case.
- 3:23Speaker 2: They romanticized TLC's chasing waterfalls for the sake of this movie.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah they hall marked it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Yeah, they like you got hall marked. Oh my god.
- 3:36Speaker 1: That's filmed in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. And they said
- 3:39Speaker 1: all of the waterfalls were within an hour's driving distance
- 3:42Speaker 1: of Vancouver.
- 3:44Speaker 2: That's not exciting to me at all.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Exciting as Vancouver is a big city and like, all
- 3:50Speaker 1: of a sudden you're in the middle of nowhere.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So I thought, okay, cool, all right, I just had
- 3:54Speaker 2: this memory that I know that you went to Oregon
- 3:57Speaker 2: to see some waterfalls. Is that right?
- 4:00Speaker 1: We did one time, okay, go specifically to see them,
- 4:03Speaker 1: but we saw them while we were there.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yes, okay? And was that like life changing? What did
- 4:08Speaker 2: that make you feel a certain way?
- 4:11Speaker 1: My husband is a lifelong waterfall chaser. If we are out,
- 4:16Speaker 1: if there's like a hike, he's like, I want to
- 4:18Speaker 1: go on the waterfall hike. I want to see waterfalls.
- 4:19Speaker 1: He loves waterfalls. I don't share the same passion passion walls.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I think they're pretty I enjoy them. He's a big fan,
- 4:28Speaker 1: so uh, he would be all into the Chasing Waterfalls
- 4:33Speaker 1: tour of Canada.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Okay. So that's really funny because as I watched this movie,
- 4:37Speaker 2: I was like, is there a population of people who
- 4:40Speaker 2: are super into seeing waterfalls? I'm not that person.
- 4:45Speaker 1: There definitely is, particularly if you look like at hiking reviews,
- 4:52Speaker 1: you know, if you're looking at like hiking, what's trail trails?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, and.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They'll have people who like review the trail like how
- 5:01Speaker 1: hard it was and the views, And I think there
- 5:03Speaker 1: are definitely people who are into waterfalls. I don't think
- 5:07Speaker 1: my husband is like super unique in that regard.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Have you ever like swam in a waterfall like had
- 5:13Speaker 2: bef Have you.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Really crashing down on our head?
- 5:18Speaker 2: No?
- 5:18Speaker 1: But like in the water at the base of a waterfall? Yes?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Really?
- 5:22Speaker 1: Why? And maybe elsewhere? Oh yeah. When we were on
- 5:28Speaker 1: our road trip last year, I wish not last year,
- 5:31Speaker 1: two years ago. I wish I could remember what state
- 5:33Speaker 1: we were in. But we did a small hike to
- 5:35Speaker 1: a waterfall, and then there were people that were like
- 5:37Speaker 1: jumping off a cliff into the waterfall.
- 5:42Speaker 2: He did that so dangerous.
- 5:43Speaker 1: My kids were freaking terrified. Yeah, they're like.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Don't go, Daddy, don't go. Daddy's gonna crash his head
- 5:52Speaker 2: on rocks. Yeah, that's fine, awful decision. Oh my godess.
- 5:57Speaker 2: So the only time I've ever been in a water
- 6:00Speaker 2: is in like a pool that has a waterfall, Like never, sure, Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 2: ever have I been in seen I don't even think
- 6:07Speaker 2: I've seen a waterfall. Now. My little city, I understand,
- 6:11Speaker 2: has a little waterfall that you can hike to. Hey,
- 6:14Speaker 2: but it's only it's only after a good rain. Otherwise
- 6:19Speaker 2: it's like dry.
- 6:24Speaker 1: California, live in.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Okay. Any other news and notes on this movie.
- 6:30Speaker 1: The final waterfall where they shot which I don't know
- 6:33Speaker 1: if they're filmed in order, but when they were shooting
- 6:35Speaker 1: the final waterfall that they went to, they didn't allow
- 6:38Speaker 1: photos to be taken, so it had the same like
- 6:41Speaker 1: they don't want people to know where this is situation
- 6:44Speaker 1: as they have in the movie.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I thought that storyline was so ridiculous. I have thoughts
- 6:51Speaker 2: on it.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Okay, let's start with first impressions.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I hated this movie from top to bottom.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Oh no, he it, I said, solid start without being
- 7:04Speaker 1: a home run get.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Out for real? It was so boring.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Well, so what I almost wrote was that I had
- 7:12Speaker 1: a hard time focusing on the movie, but I also
- 7:14Speaker 1: had a lot going on. I watched it during the
- 7:16Speaker 1: day and I was just trying to like do stuff
- 7:19Speaker 1: on the computer. I was just kind of like multitasking.
- 7:21Speaker 2: So yeah, that's how I watch these movies now, my
- 7:24Speaker 2: multitask as I watched them.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Not being able to focus because I was intentionally doing
- 7:30Speaker 1: other things. So I pulled that because I wasn't sure
- 7:33Speaker 1: that I was a fair assessment.
- 7:35Speaker 2: So what is funny is that when we started reviewing
- 7:38Speaker 2: Hallmark movies during the countdown to Christmas. That was appointment
- 7:42Speaker 2: tea for me. We would sit in front of the
- 7:44Speaker 2: big television screen, my husband and I. We would watch it,
- 7:48Speaker 2: we would talk about it. Now, at this point, I
- 7:51Speaker 2: am running the Friendly app on my phone in my headphones,
- 7:55Speaker 2: while I'm emptying the dishwasher, while I'm paying bills, while
- 7:59Speaker 2: I walked the dog. So I'm not giving like that
- 8:04Speaker 2: much attention to these movies anymore, simply because they're hard
- 8:09Speaker 2: for me to watch, and this one was especially bad.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Did you like anything about this movie?
- 8:15Speaker 2: I wrote not much. I'm sorry. I had a very
- 8:19Speaker 2: hard time getting excited about a story for a girl
- 8:24Speaker 2: who is looking to photograph waterfalls.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Well, to be fair to this section of the podcast,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I wrote three things down. I enjoyed Cindy Busby and
- 8:36Speaker 1: Christopher Russell. I think he is the perfect like rugged
- 8:40Speaker 1: tour guide actor to play this role.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I would say he fit the stereotype. Sure.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I enjoyed her. I thought she was cute in this movie.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I liked when he sang that moment, Oh.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I really need him to bust out chasing waterfall in
- 9:01Speaker 2: that moment. And Okay, I.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Liked the filming locations. It was very it was pretty.
- 9:06Speaker 2: The waterflatty, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Sorry. Okay, let's talk roadblocks. Oh oh my god, I
- 9:15Speaker 1: didn't write any down. Don't worry, I have plenty. Are
- 9:18Speaker 1: you ready?
- 9:19Speaker 2: I am yes. Oh.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Amy is searching for mythical falls that may or may
- 9:24Speaker 1: not exist, and the only person who can guide her
- 9:26Speaker 1: is the rugged tour guide. And then I wrote, uh oh,
- 9:30Speaker 1: maybe Tara has a thing for Mark, which then becomes
- 9:33Speaker 1: uh uh oh, Tara definitely has a thing for her work. Yes,
- 9:39Speaker 1: uh uh oh. Mark doesn't want to show Amy where
- 9:42Speaker 1: Redwood Falls is and uh oh, foreshadowing Amy is going
- 9:46Speaker 1: to betray his trust about the waterfall. Geo tagging is
- 9:51Speaker 1: going to play a role.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Oh my god. The whole conversation about geotagging, right, Well,
- 9:58Speaker 2: it was.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Funny because when she was talking to Kira about all
- 10:03Speaker 1: the features of her camera and she's like, you can
- 10:04Speaker 1: even geotag and I remember it stuck out to me.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And then as they were walking back from their sweet
- 10:12Speaker 1: little camping trip, right they've had their moment and she's like,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I promise I would never betray you that moment to me,
- 10:19Speaker 1: was like, oh, you know, she's going to betray him somehow,
- 10:22Speaker 1: even unintentionally. And then my brain flashed right back to
- 10:25Speaker 1: the geotagging, and I knew exactly what's gonna happen.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Man, you just got hallmarked Megan. Now I'm just saying, like,
- 10:36Speaker 2: of course, like these are like red flags, right, Like
- 10:40Speaker 2: when you talk about photography, you don't talk about geotag.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I've maybe people do a conversation I've never had is
- 10:48Speaker 2: about photography and geotagging ever, except with my iPhone, but
- 10:53Speaker 2: never I don't. This is so stupid. I hated this
- 10:57Speaker 2: movie so much.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Have anything that you wished for.
- 11:04Speaker 2: It those two hours of your life back perhaps I wrote,
- 11:08Speaker 2: I wish for a better story. This is so clunky
- 11:10Speaker 2: and boring. So I thought it was kind of you know,
- 11:16Speaker 2: here she is, she works for this magazine. She's actually,
- 11:19Speaker 2: if I'm correct, is not a hired photographer for the
- 11:24Speaker 2: magazine at this point, Like what's her job?
- 11:27Speaker 1: She I don't know, editing, layout writing, and then she
- 11:31Speaker 1: like basically begs them to hire her photographer and they're like, oh, okay.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Okay, so she's like a hobby photographer, which we see her. Okay.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Then something with a portfolio. Right, did she bust out
- 11:44Speaker 2: like a big ass portfolio book?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yeah again, once again again this moment. Yeah, they would
- 11:49Speaker 1: be have a digital portfolio right when that happened Instagram?
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah exactly, look at my Instagram.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm telling you she probably nature photography Instagram Like.
- 12:04Speaker 2: You're you're probably right anyway. I okay, oh right, I
- 12:08Speaker 2: just I just didn't like the story. I just thought
- 12:10Speaker 2: it was so boring. And then she like stepped in
- 12:13Speaker 2: as like great girlfriend to you know, to the teen
- 12:18Speaker 2: girl or whatever. It just was like blah blah. Other things.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I wish for better chemistry between these two, like the
- 12:30Speaker 2: Christopher Russell, like you said, rugged, very good looking, Cindy
- 12:34Speaker 2: Busby cute, adorable, But these two together were ice cold.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Like I didn't feel any sort of like chemistry between
- 12:43Speaker 2: the two of them at all.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Zero Bummer? Did you I liked them?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Bummer bummer is the response I get.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But I liked them. I thought they were cute together.
- 12:55Speaker 2: No, I'm just bored with cute. I'm bored with cute.
- 13:00Speaker 1: You're not gonna get hot in a Hallmark movie.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Well, something needs to change quickly, my finger. I mean,
- 13:07Speaker 2: like I'm holding out hard for Julie Sherman Wolf's movie. Please.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Oh well.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Also, they were teasing the Ireland movie, which I can't
- 13:17Speaker 1: think of the name of off the top of my head. Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but I noticed this is going to be nothing to you.
- 13:22Speaker 1: But first of all, I love Joanna Garcia Swisher. But
- 13:26Speaker 1: it also features Branson from Downton Abbey. I'm all in.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Anyway, I've never seen that show, so I have no
- 13:34Speaker 2: idea what you're talking about. I know Joanna garcias Swisher
- 13:38Speaker 2: was on REBA am I right.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yes, then she was on another show, like another sitcom
- 13:47Speaker 1: style show.
- 13:48Speaker 2: She deserves more than a Hallmark movie. She's a cute
- 13:52Speaker 2: little actress. I like her.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I love her. I love her.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I'm really looking forward to that movie too, because of
- 13:58Speaker 2: the scenery. Now, I know that is complete opposite of
- 14:03Speaker 2: what I'm talking about here, because I give two shits
- 14:06Speaker 2: about a waterfall, but Ireland I could get behind that.
- 14:13Speaker 2: What did you wish for with this movie?
- 14:15Speaker 1: I didn't love the waterfalls have personality bit like once
- 14:20Speaker 1: fine as a carry about moment. Ugh, she doesn't want
- 14:26Speaker 1: to be photographed, shut up. I hated that, and I wished,
- 14:31Speaker 1: as I do often, that Mark did not assume the
- 14:33Speaker 1: worst in amy when things go wrong.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Oh well, every dude does right in these movies, like
- 14:40Speaker 2: it's always like all or nothing like.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Right, and you did this sort of conflict. I get it,
- 14:47Speaker 1: but but yeah, I come on, no, I just.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I just want the writers of these movies to not
- 14:55Speaker 2: follow the freakin' Hallmark outline so closely. Do something different,
- 15:00Speaker 2: do something different. Okay, let me take a breath.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Here you ready for did you see that?
- 15:07Speaker 2: I am? I have a few.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Don't put your suitcase on the bed. Oh that was
- 15:12Speaker 1: number one of hotel stays. Never bed bugs, and that's
- 15:17Speaker 1: how you bring them home.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Or you're putting your dirty suitcase on a bed you're
- 15:22Speaker 2: going to sleep in. Like both ways, it's gross. Use
- 15:26Speaker 2: the little luggage stand that's in there.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Did you see her bike shorts as she wore for hiking.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Oh my god, I did not. Yes, yes, I just
- 15:35Speaker 2: rode a blog post all about bike shorts.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Wendy and I are having a bike shorts renaissance these days,
- 15:40Speaker 1: so my eyes were on high alert.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Well, kudos to Costumin for you know, jumping down trend there.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Did you notice? Okay, there was one scene they were
- 15:56Speaker 2: talking about a compass and he says or like directions
- 16:02Speaker 2: or whatever, and he's like, I was born with it.
- 16:05Speaker 2: The dude's name is Mark North, And I thought, was
- 16:13Speaker 2: that on purpose? Was that on for sure?
- 16:16Speaker 1: For sure? Oh my god, I didn't notice that.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Now I knew that their names were funny because shout
- 16:23Speaker 2: out to deck the Hallmark. They did a preview of
- 16:26Speaker 2: all these movies and they talked extensively about the names
- 16:29Speaker 2: of the characters in this movie and how like on
- 16:32Speaker 2: the nose they were, So I unders I kind of
- 16:37Speaker 2: knew that going in. His name is Mark North, he's
- 16:40Speaker 2: a tour guide. Her name is Amy Atwater. She's looking
- 16:45Speaker 2: at water. You know what I mean? Oh my.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Right, shout out to them for that's funny.
- 16:53Speaker 2: See that. But what was made me laugh harder was
- 16:57Speaker 2: that this line and he was like I was born
- 16:59Speaker 2: into it or I was born with it or something.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I can't remember the exact line, but I was like,
- 17:05Speaker 2: somebody is right on the nose with this, with the
- 17:09Speaker 2: names and the characteristics of these people.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Anyway, Okay, can we talk bears?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Sure?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Okay, So did you see they're hiking and he's clapping
- 17:20Speaker 1: and he says, you got to clap tool er at
- 17:21Speaker 1: the bears that you're coming.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 1: So I have been hiking in bear country. We went
- 17:26Speaker 1: to Yellowstone and the Grand Teton several years ago and
- 17:29Speaker 1: there are many bears in the area, and we got
- 17:33Speaker 1: bear spray before hiking, which is what exactly. It's basically
- 17:38Speaker 1: pepper spray, so it's not a repellent. It's like if
- 17:41Speaker 1: you're being attacked by a bear, you spray like in
- 17:45Speaker 1: their eyes.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Okay, right, oh my god.
- 17:47Speaker 1: But they also there there were other like talk loudly,
- 17:53Speaker 1: saying so that you don't the worst thing to do
- 17:55Speaker 1: with a bear is to sneak up on them. But
- 17:57Speaker 1: I was like, clapping is that a thing? And according
- 17:59Speaker 1: to NPS dot org the National Park Service, that is, clapping, yelling,
- 18:04Speaker 1: talking are all good ways to alert a bear of
- 18:07Speaker 1: your presence.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Oh so you never want to sneak up on it.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yes, I don't, like they don't think humans are prey,
- 18:14Speaker 1: but if they think you're a danger to them, that's
- 18:17Speaker 1: when they're going to attack you. Okay, But what one
- 18:21Speaker 1: of the things that it said, because when they see
- 18:24Speaker 1: the bear, they get real loud and aggressive. Oh kay,
- 18:29Speaker 1: National Park Service says is move away slowly and sideways,
- 18:36Speaker 1: do not run, do not climb a tree, continue to
- 18:40Speaker 1: talk in low tones. A scream or sudden movement may
- 18:44Speaker 1: trigger an attack. Never imitate bear sounds or make a
- 18:47Speaker 1: high pitched squeal. And then it goes on to talk
- 18:51Speaker 1: about bear attacks. Oh my god, And in a brown
- 18:54Speaker 1: or grizzly bear attack, you should play dead. But in
- 18:57Speaker 1: a black bear attack, it says, do not play did
- 19:00Speaker 1: concentrate your kicks and blows on the bear's face and muzzle.
- 19:03Speaker 1: So basically, black bear attacks you, You're gonna die, is
- 19:06Speaker 1: what they're saying.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Like I would write first back, I don't even know
- 19:10Speaker 2: if in that instant I would be like, this is
- 19:14Speaker 2: a black bear. Nope, this is a brown bear. How
- 19:16Speaker 2: am I supposed to respond? I would be high pitched screaming,
- 19:21Speaker 2: climbing up a tree, everything you're not supposed to do.
- 19:25Speaker 2: This is why I don't go out.
- 19:27Speaker 1: There are rare. Bear attacks are rare, but I don't know.
- 19:30Speaker 1: You should also not hike at dawn or dusk, and
- 19:33Speaker 1: not hike alone. Okay, so we may move on from
- 19:35Speaker 1: bear talk with Magana Wendy.
- 19:37Speaker 2: But I have a question a bear talk, didn't he
- 19:39Speaker 2: say something about like when you're going to the bathroom,
- 19:42Speaker 2: You're supposed to clap or something like that. Why is
- 19:45Speaker 2: their bathroom? Why am I thinking like, when you're taking
- 19:48Speaker 2: a squat in the forest, you should be clapping so
- 19:51Speaker 2: a bear doesn't sneak up on you.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I just think you're supposed to be making noise at
- 19:54Speaker 1: all times so they hear you coming. Okay, when I
- 19:58Speaker 1: let about my bathroom specifically, maybe I'm imagining that they
- 20:03Speaker 1: had this line in the movie. Might have to go
- 20:05Speaker 1: back and look.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Okay. Also, what if what if you're sleeping in a
- 20:10Speaker 2: tent then you're quiet and the bear comes up on you,
- 20:13Speaker 2: then what are you supposed to do? Do you play
- 20:15Speaker 2: a radio all night long?
- 20:17Speaker 1: There was something about like if a bear is stalking
- 20:19Speaker 1: you in your tent, But I can't find that one
- 20:22Speaker 1: right now, keep you in your tent.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Speaking speaking of dangerous situations, Megan, would you ever let
- 20:32Speaker 2: a stranger blindfold you in the forest?
- 20:35Speaker 1: M No? Does she he blindfold her? Ye?
- 20:40Speaker 2: Forget that. Yes, he was like trying to, like, uh,
- 20:45Speaker 2: you know, throw her off the path so he so
- 20:47Speaker 2: she doesn't memorize where the waterfall is and then he
- 20:50Speaker 2: ends up blindfolding her. And I was like, there's no
- 20:55Speaker 2: freaking way I would let this handsome stranger blindfold me
- 21:00Speaker 2: out in the middle of the woods or forest or
- 21:03Speaker 2: wherever this is because he's gonna kill me.
- 21:06Speaker 1: No eep in mind that directly before or after this incident,
- 21:11Speaker 1: she says to her friend, I am hopelessly head over
- 21:13Speaker 1: heels in love with him. So I think we can
- 21:16Speaker 1: apply a different filter to this interaction. No, I hate
- 21:22Speaker 1: being blindfolded. I have no sense of direction. I don't
- 21:24Speaker 1: like the dark. I would full blown panic, whether it's
- 21:26Speaker 1: a stranger or not.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I just it. No, it just I hated everything about that.
- 21:34Speaker 2: A rational person wouldn't be like, Okay, stranger I met
- 21:37Speaker 2: you two days ago, blindfold me and lead me out
- 21:41Speaker 2: to my death. No, no, nope.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I bet that waterfall water was freezing that they were
- 21:47Speaker 1: swimming in.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Oh okay, it was. Was this film like last year
- 21:52Speaker 2: or early this year.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It was filmed at the end of twenty twenty. But guys,
- 21:57Speaker 1: that's like melted snow. You're in Canada, it's like melted
- 22:00Speaker 1: snow water that's pouring down on you. Waterfalls are always cold,
- 22:04Speaker 1: unless you're link in the tropics, they're cold.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Wow. Interesting, I have one more. Did you see that? Yes,
- 22:12Speaker 2: when the article about the waterfalls comes out, it's online, right, Yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 2: it's not a hard copy magazine article.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Correct.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Okay, So the coordinates to these majestic, mysterious, never to
- 22:29Speaker 2: be seen by human life waterfalls are in the online article, right,
- 22:35Speaker 2: and therefore could be removed. Yes, what the hell? What
- 22:39Speaker 2: it was? They made such a big deal out of it.
- 22:42Speaker 2: The boss who was supposed to be like some Anna
- 22:44Speaker 2: Winter of this outdoor magazine could have easily been like,
- 22:51Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. You're right, that was my bad or
- 22:54Speaker 2: whoever took accountability for that. Let's log on to our
- 22:57Speaker 2: back end and delete those coordinates. So the five people
- 23:02Speaker 2: who have seen this like online article don't have access
- 23:06Speaker 2: to it anymore. It's not like it went viral and
- 23:10Speaker 2: they're acting like it did. They're like, did just see
- 23:12Speaker 2: the bustload of people who pulled up today to come
- 23:15Speaker 2: see the article or come see the waterfall? Give me
- 23:18Speaker 2: a break.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yeah, this is the kind of article that has a
- 23:21Speaker 1: slow burn that people run across as they're searching for,
- 23:26Speaker 1: you know, their vacation destination things to see in Canada,
- 23:32Speaker 1: they come across these waterfalls. Yes, yes, they could have
- 23:35Speaker 1: deleted it and the damage would have been minimal.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Okay, the information was out there. Perhaps someone could have
- 23:41Speaker 1: shared it with someone else, et cetera, et cetera, especially
- 23:43Speaker 1: if it is such a mythical place that people have
- 23:46Speaker 1: always been searching for and now they've found it.
- 23:49Speaker 2: But I hear you, and she just so happens to
- 23:51Speaker 2: stumble onto the Twisted Sister Rock and then she knew
- 23:54Speaker 2: where she was going to find the fall. It was just,
- 23:58Speaker 2: oh my god. I had some flashbacks to that movie
- 24:02Speaker 2: with Reese Witherspoon where she went on that hiking adventure
- 24:06Speaker 2: that Wild Yes, and you know she bought those like
- 24:10Speaker 2: brand new boots. It was kind of along the same
- 24:13Speaker 2: lines where he was like, you need better shoes for
- 24:15Speaker 2: hiking or whatever. Didn't you did you see some similarities
- 24:19Speaker 2: with that?
- 24:19Speaker 1: Or am I just have I just read that book,
- 24:21Speaker 1: which is based on a true story.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I did not. Oh you never saw no.
- 24:26Speaker 1: But do you remember in Gilmore Girls when Lurlai she's like,
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm doing Wild and they're like book or movie, it's
- 24:35Speaker 1: the city it's based on that. So when she goes
- 24:38Speaker 1: on that like to hike the Pacific crestrail, they're like
- 24:41Speaker 1: book or movie?
- 24:42Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, no, I know, But now I'm wondering,
- 24:44Speaker 2: am I confused? Was the boots storyline in The Gilmore
- 24:48Speaker 2: Girl's Revival?
- 24:52Speaker 1: Well, I think it's in because in the at what
- 24:55Speaker 1: point she like throws her boots over the edge in
- 24:58Speaker 1: the book, because they're like tearing up her feet, So
- 25:00Speaker 1: I think it's okay, probably in the movie.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Also, okay, all right, all right, all right, anything else
- 25:05Speaker 2: did you see that?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, when they come back from their camping trip and
- 25:09Speaker 1: they have been swimming in a waterfall and sleeping in
- 25:10Speaker 1: a tent, her hair is perfectly curled. Could we not
- 25:13Speaker 1: have like left her hair straight at that point? Like, no,
- 25:16Speaker 1: she does not have perfect ringlets in her hair after swimming.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Well, I was thinking the same thing. And like when
- 25:21Speaker 2: they camped down she got up the next morning, she
- 25:23Speaker 2: looks like super cute, Like I look like Albert Einstein
- 25:26Speaker 2: when I wake up in the morning, Like my hair
- 25:27Speaker 2: is crazy looking, like, well, yeah.
- 25:32Speaker 1: There's no continuity. She's getting bitten by mosquitoes all night long,
- 25:35Speaker 1: and then she just like I slept great. I'm like, no,
- 25:38Speaker 1: what do you mean? You should have welt all over
- 25:39Speaker 1: your body and be so tired because the bugs kept
- 25:41Speaker 1: you up all night.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay, another another thing. In that scene, he goes,
- 25:46Speaker 2: how do you like your eggs? And she looks down
- 25:49Speaker 2: and she goes scrambled, and he's like, oh good, because
- 25:52Speaker 2: they were already scrambled. And I was like, what is
- 25:55Speaker 2: that movie? It's one of your favorite movies. It's a
- 25:59Speaker 2: Julia Roberts movie. And there's something No, it's not one
- 26:01Speaker 2: of your favorite movies. It's Runaway Bride. Now I'm getting
- 26:04Speaker 2: that confused with my best friend's wedding. Oh yeah, anyway, runaway.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Oh yes, she changes her egg preference based on her dude.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Yes, yes. And I was like, oh, don't be that
- 26:17Speaker 2: girl scrambled, Like how.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I honestly I hear you. I honestly didn't read it
- 26:24Speaker 1: that way. I thought she was like, you know, that's
- 26:27Speaker 1: the kind of eggs we have, So that's the kind
- 26:28Speaker 1: of eggs I want. It's not like he can touch
- 26:30Speaker 1: an egg in the middle of the.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Four I guess, but whatever.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Okay. So Tara, who is the other tour guide who
- 26:38Speaker 1: clearly has a thing for Mark, and I kind of
- 26:40Speaker 1: hated what they did to her character because they made
- 26:43Speaker 1: her this like needy, clingy, even though Mark was like, yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 1: we went out, didn't work out, and he's just a
- 26:47Speaker 1: nice guy and their friends. It kind of bugged me
- 26:51Speaker 1: that they made her this like I don't look desperate woman,
- 26:57Speaker 1: yeah yeah, yeah, but desperate woman is is.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I just didn't like that for her. But when the
- 27:05Speaker 1: last night she's there, she goes, you're leaving tomorrow, rite Amy,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and she's so ready for her to be done. I did.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I thought that was kind of funny, but yeah, it's
- 27:16Speaker 1: the same thing for a more powerful role.
- 27:19Speaker 2: When she showed up at the karaoke, she's like, oh,
- 27:21Speaker 2: you're still here, like you know, yeah, Like why could she.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Have just been like the fellow tour guide who maybe
- 27:27Speaker 1: didn't trust her because she didn't want to reveal this
- 27:29Speaker 1: secret location, but didn't have to be she didn't trust
- 27:32Speaker 1: her because she wanted Mark too, right, right, we don't
- 27:35Speaker 1: need to center this like the one handsome dude tour guide.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Totally okay, my last did you see that? And I'm
- 27:42Speaker 2: throwing it back to an IMDb review that I read
- 27:46Speaker 2: on this movie. Uh, let me read it for you,
- 27:49Speaker 2: and then I'm going to talk about the digit see
- 27:51Speaker 2: that moment quote was extremely unnerved by the whole preteen
- 27:56Speaker 2: with makeup and short skirt. So I went back and
- 28:00Speaker 2: looked at it today. It was when they were at
- 28:04Speaker 2: karaoke and the Kira right was getting popcorn and thinking
- 28:11Speaker 2: about going to talk to the boy or whatever. She's
- 28:13Speaker 2: wearing a mini, a denim mini skirt that is above
- 28:17Speaker 2: her knee. Like it's not it's not like Daisy Duke shorts.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It's an appropriate length mini skirt. And she's wearing a
- 28:28Speaker 2: long sleeve shirt that is tucked in. Like, who are
- 28:31Speaker 2: these people that are watching these movies and leaving these
- 28:33Speaker 2: reviews on IMDb?
- 28:35Speaker 1: Oh so let's not like close Shane, the twelve year
- 28:37Speaker 1: old people.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Oh my god, what she did not pick the outfit
- 28:40Speaker 2: out herself, Like it's even if.
- 28:43Speaker 1: She did, I know, super loved to erase the narrative
- 28:48Speaker 1: you know about I know, our daughter's clothes.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But right, yes, she.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Was super cute. There was nothing that would have raised
- 28:56Speaker 1: any alarm bells, even in someone who does care what
- 28:59Speaker 1: these tween girls are wearing. But I thought she was cute.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I enjoyed her actually her character in the movie.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I know sometimes like these like preteen kids on these
- 29:07Speaker 2: movies can be super annoying, but like I thought, she
- 29:09Speaker 2: was kind of cute except for her like the whole
- 29:12Speaker 2: bit how she like took this amazing picture of a hummingbird,
- 29:16Speaker 2: like just.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Almost dumb, but I know it was. The cheese factor
- 29:21Speaker 1: was heavy in this movie.
- 29:23Speaker 2: For sure.
- 29:24Speaker 1: What did you rate our Good pal Chasing Waterfalls?
- 29:27Speaker 2: Okay, so I've decided that I'm going to rate these
- 29:31Speaker 2: movies strictly based on like the spring fleeing Cannon? Is
- 29:38Speaker 2: that the right word. I'm not going to compare them
- 29:43Speaker 2: to Love ever After or New Year New Movies anything.
- 29:46Speaker 2: This is a stand alone for me, and this movie
- 29:50Speaker 2: gets one star.
- 29:51Speaker 1: WHOA, Yeah, I kind of rate these on their own.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I'm not comparing this to anything else, and it's a
- 29:57Speaker 1: two and a half star for me.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Oh my god, seriously, seriously.
- 30:03Speaker 1: So next week we are going to be reviewing Don't
- 30:05Speaker 1: Go Breaking My Heart, which may or may not have
- 30:08Speaker 1: had a name change from Breakup boot Camp at some
- 30:10Speaker 1: point in the recent past, but regardless, Ryan Pavey and
- 30:14Speaker 1: Italia Ricci, we are very excited for that one. Until
- 30:17Speaker 1: next time, have a great week, everybody, Goodbye, goodbye,
