- Lucas: Okay, welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. We're back at the park again today. Lucas: Yeah, one more time with our bird friends. In the last few episodes, we learned a lot of actions. Luna: We did. Flying, eating, drinking, building nests. I think I need to review a little. Lucas: That's a great idea. Let's start with the easiest one. The bird is flying. You remember that? Luna: Is it పక్షి ఎగురుతుంది? Lucas: Yes! That's very good. Repeat that again. Luna: పక్షి ఎగురుతుంది. Lucas: Perfect. Now, the bird is singing. Do you remember that one? Luna: Oh, I think it's Lucas: Exactly. The word for song is పాట, and singing is పాడుతుంది. Luna: So literally bird song sings? It's like 'bird song does-singing'? Lucas: Right, yeah. Telugu uses the verb 'to sing' with the object. I love the sound of that. Lucas: It's nice, right? Now, what about building a nest? The bird is building a nest. I remember because గూడు is nest, and కట్టుతుంది is building. Lucas: You've got it. Let's say it together. Ready? Luna: Yeah. Lucas: Good. Now, two more. The bird is eating seeds and the bird is drinking water. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Yes. And drinking water is That one feels a bit trickier. Lucas: It's just a mouthful. Let's break it: నీళ్ళు is water, తాగుతుంది is drinking. Okay, I think I got it. Lucas: Great. Now let's do a little scene. Imagine we're at the park. We see a bird. Luna: Okay, I see a bird. Lucas: What is it doing? Is it flying? Luna: No, it's not flying. It's singing. Lucas: Nice. Now it stops singing and starts building a nest. Lucas: Yes. Then after building, it goes to eat some seeds. Lucas: And then it wants water. So it drinks. Lucas: Perfect. You just used all four phrases in a little story. Luna: That was fun. It's like I can actually describe what's happening. Lucas: That's the goal, right? To be able to talk about real things. Luna: Absolutely. Lucas: Let's do a quick review then. I'll say the English, you say the Telugu. Luna: Okay. Lucas: The bird is singing. Lucas: The bird is building a nest. Lucas: The bird is eating seeds. Lucas: The bird is drinking water. Lucas: Excellent. You really nailed those. Luna: Thanks. You know, it's amazing how much we've picked up from this show. I mean, we started with just hello and now we're describing birds. Lucas: Yeah, and that's because of practice and repetition. Also, honestly, because of the people who support the show. A handful of listeners chip in through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, and that's what makes it possible to keep making episodes like this. Luna: Yeah, it's a small group but they really help keep us ad-free and focused on teaching. Lucas: Exactly. So if the show has been helping you, consider joining them. It's totally optional, but it means a lot. Luna: Now, let's get back to our bird. So we have singing, building nest, eating, drinking. Is there anything else birds do? Lucas: Well, they also fly, which we already know. But let's combine all five. Can you say 'the bird is flying and singing'? Lucas: Close. We use 'మరియు' for 'and'. But in everyday speech, we often just say the two sentences. So పక్షి ఎగురుతుంది. That works too. Luna: Oh, so simpler is fine. Lucas: Yes. Telugu speakers will understand. Let's practice that. I'll ask, what is the bird doing? You give one action. Luna: Okay. Lucas: What is the bird doing? Luna: పక్షి ఎగురుతుంది. Lucas: Good. Now another? Lucas: Great. And one more? Lucas: Excellent. Now let's try a longer sentence. 'The bird is eating seeds and drinking water.' Lucas: There you go. That's perfect. Luna: Oh, I did it. Lucas: You did it. See, you're already combining actions. Luna: This is so satisfying. I feel like I can actually describe a whole scene now. Lucas: And that's the goal. Let's do one more round of all four, and then we'll wrap up. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Singing? Lucas: Building nest? Lucas: Eating seeds? Lucas: Drinking water? Lucas: Wonderful. You've got them. Now you can go to a park and describe birds in Telugu. Luna: I might actually try that this weekend. Lucas: Do it. And if you see a bird doing something else, you can ask us in a future episode. For now, keep practicing these. Until next time, happy learning. Luna: Bye everyone!
