- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios. Oh, Wendy's. I love Wendy's.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I think Wendy's is great. They're having some problems. They
- 0:10Speaker 1: just closed another 60 locations. I don't know why they
- 0:14Speaker 1: had it. But the billionaire Nelson Peltz is a guy
- 0:19Speaker 1: who's come in and rescued, bought companies and tried to
- 0:21Speaker 1: turn them around. Nelson Peltz bought Snapple. apparently he's about
- 0:26Speaker 1: to make a big bid on Wendy's. He wants to
- 0:28Speaker 1: get Wendy's, fix it up. So the fact that a
- 0:31Speaker 1: guy like that is bidding means there's a good future
- 0:33Speaker 1: for him. Burger King has been rising up from the,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I've never been a big Burger King fan, but it's
- 0:40Speaker 1: been rising up. I guess that's been hurting Wendy's. McDonald's
- 0:43Speaker 1: adding all kinds of crazy items to the menu. We'll
- 0:47Speaker 1: get to that coming up. Let's take some calls. 800-321-0710
- 0:49Speaker 1: is the number.
- 0:50Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I'm looking at the calls. It looks like a lot
- 0:58Speaker 1: of Florida calls. We have a huge audience in Florida.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And I know a lot of you think, gee, I'd
- 1:03Speaker 1: love to be in Florida. It's paradise. It's paradise. Listen,
- 1:06Speaker 1: they got some big problems in Florida. We'll get to
- 1:09Speaker 1: one of them coming up in the next hour. Let's
- 1:12Speaker 1: go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Good morning from rainy Florida. Florida, where it's been raining
- 1:19Speaker 2: for four days now. Yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You know, people up here, they say, I'm going to Florida.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I can't stand the snow. That's enough with the snow.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Go down there, you get four months of hurricanes. And
- 1:30Speaker 1: then for half the year, you get a vicious thunderstorm
- 1:33Speaker 1: once a day. Am I right?
- 1:35Speaker 2: It rains about 340 days a year, I would say.
- 1:39Speaker 2: And every time you complain about the rain, the guy
- 1:42Speaker 2: on the other side of the counter says, well, we
- 1:43Speaker 2: really need it. I'm going, you really? How could there
- 1:45Speaker 2: be a drought? I don't understand. It rains every single day,
- 1:50Speaker 2: literally every single day. It's like, who's stealing the water
- 1:53Speaker 2: in Florida? I'd like to know.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Well, that's like a tropical thing, a vicious rainstorm at
- 1:58Speaker 1: late afternoon every day.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Every day. I say I want to spend one day
- 2:05Speaker 2: completely dry before I die here in this state. I
- 2:08Speaker 2: don't think it's going to happen. But you were mentioning
- 2:14Speaker 2: congestion parking along with the congestion pricing along with the
- 2:18Speaker 2: banning of cars. On a basic level, it's a nuisance.
- 2:21Speaker 2: It's a pain in the neck. It raises prices. But
- 2:24Speaker 2: in a more sinister way, it's a way for them
- 2:26Speaker 2: to control the public. You know, if they take away
- 2:29Speaker 2: your mode of transportation, where are you going to go?
- 2:32Speaker 2: You're stuck there, and you're at their, you know, you're
- 2:34Speaker 2: at their want and desires to see where you travel. And,
- 2:39Speaker 2: you know, we'll provide train for you. They're not going
- 2:42Speaker 2: to do that. It's a way to control the population.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely. No, that's what Democrats love. That's why they
- 2:47Speaker 1: want you off your great private insurance, health insurance. They
- 2:50Speaker 1: want you on government insurance. That way they control it.
- 2:53Speaker 1: They won't want you driving your private car. They want
- 2:55Speaker 1: you on public transportation. That way they control it. You're right.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Exactly. Take away all choice.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Very good point. Yeah, definitely. Excellent point, Mike. Yeah, Democrats
- 3:07Speaker 1: are never pro-choice when it comes to anything, except abortion,
- 3:11Speaker 1: which is fine. But everything else, they don't like choice.
- 3:16Speaker 1: They'll tell you what health plan you're going to have.
- 3:19Speaker 1: They'll tell you how you can get to work. They'll
- 3:21Speaker 1: decide for you. Let's go back to Florida. Let's go
- 3:26Speaker 1: to Joel in Florida. Joel, how are you doing? Good morning, Mark.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Occasionally we get a few days where it doesn't rain,
- 3:33Speaker 3: but that's not often. Just have a question for you.
- 3:36Speaker 3: In the past, when Netanyahu was running for office, we've
- 3:39Speaker 3: heard that Obama sent people over to Israel to try
- 3:43Speaker 3: to see what they could do to disrupt the process.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Have you heard of anything at this time where he
- 3:49Speaker 3: might have sent people in or the Democrats sent people
- 3:51Speaker 3: in That's why to upset the process.
- 3:54Speaker 1: There is some funny business going on down there. Absolutely. Definitely. Uh,
- 3:59Speaker 1: they'll have to uncover it, uh, over the next few weeks,
- 4:02Speaker 1: but yeah, there's a lot of funny business going on
- 4:04Speaker 1: with the voting down there. The latest is, uh, Netanyahu
- 4:08Speaker 1: was behind, but the latest is he seems to have
- 4:10Speaker 1: pulled ahead just a little, but not enough of the
- 4:12Speaker 1: votes still too close to call. Uh, Joel, thanks for calling.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It's going to be, um, Could it be a while
- 4:20Speaker 1: before we actually know the results of this election? I
- 4:24Speaker 1: don't even know if it will be later today. At
- 4:26Speaker 1: some point, maybe by the end of the week, you'll know.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Right now, the latest I got from the Netanyahu team,
- 4:33Speaker 1: let me give you that again, is 78% of the
- 4:36Speaker 1: vote in. Likud, that's Netanyahu's party, 27.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Isari, 22.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So it's a slight lead. It's a slight lead, but
- 4:41Speaker 1: we'll see. Let's go to Chucky in Long Island. Chucky,
- 4:52Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 4:54Speaker 2: It's Tookie.
- 4:54Speaker 4: How are you, Mark?
- 4:55Speaker 1: What's your name?
- 4:57Speaker 4: Tookie. Oh, Tookie.
- 4:59Speaker 1: It says Chuckie.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Tookie. It's Tookie. It's Tookie.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That's even worse. What kind of name is Tookie?
- 5:06Speaker 4: It's a nickname. It's a long family nickname.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 5:09Speaker 4: But Mark, listen, Florida went from God's waiting room to
- 5:14Speaker 4: the foreclosure capital of the country. all these people running
- 5:17Speaker 4: to Florida to save, think they're going to save this
- 5:20Speaker 4: exorbitant amount of money when they leave here. Totally wrong.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Food is just as expensive as here. Gas is more, is, is,
- 5:26Speaker 4: is as expensive, if not more expensive. And it's just, it's, it's, it's,
- 5:32Speaker 4: it's not what it was. If you want to save money,
- 5:34Speaker 4: you have to move to a rural area now, which
- 5:36Speaker 4: would be more out West.
- 5:38Speaker 1: There are cheaper places to live, like in the Carolinas. Well,
- 5:41Speaker 1: I guess that's a rural area. Yeah. Uh, Well, you
- 5:45Speaker 1: could move to Connecticut. It's a little cheaper than New York.
- 5:50Speaker 4: The condos, if you move to a condo on Long Island,
- 5:53Speaker 4: where I live, I pay about $ 19, 000 a year in taxes.
- 5:56Speaker 4: But if I move to a condo, I would have
- 5:59Speaker 4: a situation where my taxes would be $ 6, 000 to $ 7, 000,
- 6:03Speaker 4: but I have an exorbitant HOA fee. These people in
- 6:06Speaker 4: Florida have an exorbitant HOA fee now also.
- 6:08Speaker 1: That's true. You have a condo, no property tax. Your
- 6:11Speaker 1: HOA fee will be through the roof, though. Right.
- 6:14Speaker 4: It used to be nothing. Now there's $ 700, 000, $ 800, 000. It
- 6:16Speaker 4: depends on where you live.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 2: All right.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Good point, Tookie. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Walt
- 6:25Speaker 1: in Yonkers. Walt, how are you doing?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Pretty good. As a matter of fact, I'm all ready
- 6:29Speaker 3: for Halloween.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you look it. Just picked up my costume. Oh,
- 6:32Speaker 1: it's not a costume. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Just picked up my costume, a red beret, a red
- 6:36Speaker 3: sateen jacket, and a big sign that says, everybody, look
- 6:39Speaker 3: at me.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Hey, you know what? That's a good idea for a costume, though.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Just go as Curtis. Although, where do you get a
- 6:44Speaker 1: red beret? On the internet. Oh, of course.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Of course.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good costume. Get a sateen jacket, a
- 6:52Speaker 1: red beret. People will know. Everybody knows Curtis. You'll go
- 6:55Speaker 1: as Curtis. Is that it, Walt? You just wanted to
- 6:57Speaker 1: make a joke about Curtis? That was the whole thing?
- 7:00Speaker 4: Hey, everybody, look at me.
- 7:01Speaker 1: From day one, that's Curtis. You're kidding. I've never heard
- 7:04Speaker 1: of a radio host behaving like that. You mean a
- 7:06Speaker 1: radio host looking for attention?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 1: That is certainly unusual. Can you imagine such a thing?
- 7:13Speaker 1: Son of a gun. Walt, keep working on that. You've
- 7:14Speaker 1: got to come up with something better. It's a start,
- 7:18Speaker 1: but you're not there yet, Walt. Anyway. Should I get
- 7:24Speaker 1: to it now? No, I'll save it. I'll save it.
- 7:26Speaker 1: There's all kinds of problems in Florida. They've got another
- 7:29Speaker 1: one now. In major parts of Florida, things that you
- 7:34Speaker 1: don't even, you know, you say, well, I don't like
- 7:36Speaker 1: the snow. Well, first of all, we've got this El
- 7:38Speaker 1: Nino coming for the winter. That keeps temperatures very warm
- 7:40Speaker 1: all winter. So this will be one of those winters
- 7:43Speaker 1: most likely where there is no snow. But you've got problems,
- 7:47Speaker 1: weather problems down in Florida and other things. We'll get
- 7:50Speaker 1: to them in the next hour. We'll also get to
- 7:54Speaker 1: the Democrats now plotting new attacks on Donald Trump. They
- 7:57Speaker 1: find things to pick on. They must have a team
- 8:00Speaker 1: staying up all night, every night, looking for the littlest
- 8:03Speaker 1: things to pick on. We'll get to some of those
- 8:05Speaker 1: coming up. Hey, don't forget at noon today, Buck Sexton
- 8:10Speaker 1: and Clay Travis, they do a really good show every day.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You get two hosts for the price of one. Then
- 8:15Speaker 1: at three o'clock, you got the single most listened to
- 8:18Speaker 1: radio show in America. Sean Hannity at three. You got
- 8:22Speaker 1: Jesse Kelly at six. Jimmy Fallon is the funniest show
- 8:27Speaker 1: on radio. It's on every night, 9 to midnight, and
- 8:30Speaker 1: it's all here on 710WOR.
