- 0:27Speaker 1: to see you, buddy. I imagine it would be if
- 0:30Speaker 1: I was you. Yes, I'm seeing you, seeing a lot
- 0:34Speaker 1: of your chest there. It's not dumb extre only a
- 0:37Speaker 1: couple of buttons. I'm done today. It's cooler today. It
- 0:41Speaker 1: is nicer today. And you guys on the Yahoo and
- 0:44Speaker 1: Yah Yahoo, I'm the Action Network, Serious XM show. You're
- 0:48Speaker 1: Paul Duca today. Uh, you're getting NonStop fantasy calls. I know,
- 0:53Speaker 1: which is why I'm so excited that Brad Evans is
- 0:55Speaker 1: coming on, because Brad is a long time fantasy expert
- 0:59Speaker 1: covering fantas to you for Yahoo Sports. Also, by the way,
- 1:02Speaker 1: a bit of a gambling expert. Any we should bring
- 1:05Speaker 1: the mind. Let's do it, hello, Brad, all on me goes.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Would it be in appropriate for me to get entangled
- 1:13Speaker 1: in Blackjack's chest hair? It would not. You're invited anytime
- 1:16Speaker 1: you like, Buddy, he would love that. Uh. Let's do
- 1:21Speaker 1: a quick bio on Brad Wright for Yaho Sports, captain
- 1:25Speaker 1: of hashtag Team Wavers and a host of the Fantasy
- 1:29Speaker 1: Record podcast with Brandon Funston. Well, he started correct. I
- 1:34Speaker 1: also have a television show that's syndicated Nashally called The
- 1:37Speaker 1: Fantasy Football Hour. We're gonna be back for season four
- 1:40Speaker 1: starting in late August Fantasy Football Live guys. Believe it
- 1:44Speaker 1: or not by my calculations, but believe it's season fourteen
- 1:49Speaker 1: of the flagship show at Yahoo sports dot Com. We're
- 1:52Speaker 1: gonna be on the road week one. We're gonna reveal
- 1:54Speaker 1: exactly where that location is. But I'm really jack for that,
- 1:58Speaker 1: and I'm on a cow rip ten three. I have
- 2:01Speaker 1: not h you know, knock on wood, which is my head,
- 2:04Speaker 1: missed a show in thirteen seeds and throw all the
- 2:07Speaker 1: hangovers and sicknesses. So it's been a hell of a run.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You've made every single show for thirteen seasons. What is
- 2:14Speaker 1: that like? Thirteen times seventeen? Well, sixteen because we usually
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't do a week seventeen show, though I think we
- 2:21Speaker 1: had a couple of weeks seventeen shows early on. But regardless,
- 2:25Speaker 1: it's math that it's almost incomputable for me. So basically,
- 2:28Speaker 1: what you're saying is, over the past thirteen years, you've
- 2:32Speaker 1: essentially worked like you know, two hundred days and you'd
- 2:37Speaker 1: like us to applaud you for it. Yeah, why not?
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's that's the typical response from someone in management. They
- 2:44Speaker 1: don't appreciate the work that you're putting in. I, on
- 2:47Speaker 1: the other hand, say you're a warrior, and yeah, who
- 2:48Speaker 1: should should kiss the ground you walk on? I've worked.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I've worked sixteen, sixteen weekends in a row from September
- 2:58Speaker 1: to December for the past three teen years, That's what
- 3:01Speaker 1: he said. I mean, I've been trudging through the snow.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I've dealt with slight delays. I mean it's it's been
- 3:08Speaker 1: an impoverished life. Let me tell you, how did you
- 3:11Speaker 1: get into the fantasy sports business? Uh? Slip my way
- 3:15Speaker 1: to the top naturally? I mean, come on, why not?
- 3:20Speaker 1: Um yeah, I mean exactly, black jack. I mean, you
- 3:24Speaker 1: gotta do whatever you gotta do to get what you
- 3:27Speaker 1: want in this business. UM no. So the long story short,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I was a teacher, believe it or not, UH, screwing
- 3:33Speaker 1: up impressibly young minds and champagne all at all. I
- 3:35Speaker 1: go a line I uh for six years, and I
- 3:38Speaker 1: stumbled across a column written by one, uh and only,
- 3:41Speaker 1: Matthew Berry of course now ESPN dot com fame say,
- 3:45Speaker 1: you know very well that was back in two thousand
- 3:48Speaker 1: four and he launched a psyde called talent to mr
- 3:50Speaker 1: Rota dot com. I started posting on the message board.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It goes, I like, uh, you know, your writing style,
- 3:56Speaker 1: your approach. He goes, you know, can you write long
- 3:58Speaker 1: form calls? And said can I write? All I did
- 4:00Speaker 1: in college a history major was drinking and read and
- 4:03Speaker 1: write papers. So absolutely goes a campaig you. But let's
- 4:07Speaker 1: see where this goes. Submitted it site took off and
- 4:10Speaker 1: then two years later I jumped to Yahoo and Matthew
- 4:13Speaker 1: then bolded for ESPN and that's it. Long story short, Well,
- 4:17Speaker 1: Matthew Berry he invented you. Yeah he did. Yeah, he's
- 4:23Speaker 1: actually my dad. I don't know if you guys do that.
- 4:26Speaker 1: What is your take? What is your take on is
- 4:29Speaker 1: fantasy gambling? It is gambling. Um, you know, I understand
- 4:34Speaker 1: by the letter of the law. You know, people classify
- 4:36Speaker 1: as a skill game, but their skill in in sports
- 4:39Speaker 1: betting as well. Um, there's research very similar, very symbiotic,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and the approaches of sports vetters and fantasy players and
- 4:46Speaker 1: how they look at injury news, the notes and statistical
- 4:49Speaker 1: trends and weather impacts. You know, that all goes into
- 4:52Speaker 1: the stew uh and cranks out the bowl of soup
- 4:54Speaker 1: and what you want to bet on. Um. You know,
- 4:56Speaker 1: we all consumed very similarly. But there is an element
- 4:59Speaker 1: of look that is involved in all of this, which
- 5:02Speaker 1: you know, kind of deviates from that skilled game classification
- 5:06Speaker 1: that a lot of state governments have bestowed upon the
- 5:09Speaker 1: fantasy industry. But if you're putting money on it, uh, yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you put a little skin in the game. It's called wagering.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It's called betting, it's called gambling. You know, people always
- 5:19Speaker 1: made the mistake that sort of the time Horizon had
- 5:22Speaker 1: a lot to do with betting, and then and fantasy.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And if you played Fantasy but you put a hundred
- 5:28Speaker 1: dollars down in September and didn't get paid out until December,
- 5:32Speaker 1: well that you weren't really gambling, because the gamble in
- 5:35Speaker 1: a bed is something that you do beginning of a
- 5:37Speaker 1: game and get paid out at the end of the game.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And that was completely sort of mistaken. But I think
- 5:43Speaker 1: a lot of people who are figuring out what these
- 5:45Speaker 1: were and what's become interesting is future odds season win
- 5:50Speaker 1: totals like those have become so much more commonplace as
- 5:54Speaker 1: the betting conversation has expanded and a larger pool of
- 5:58Speaker 1: people are coming in to them, kid and trying starting
- 6:00Speaker 1: to understand what sports betting really is. Um. One of
- 6:05Speaker 1: the things I want to talk about today is how
- 6:08Speaker 1: what's happened so far in the off season is making
- 6:11Speaker 1: you think about season win totals and what is it
- 6:15Speaker 1: making you think about future odds? Uh? For the Super Bowl? Okay,
- 6:22Speaker 1: that was great. The first thing. The first thing I
- 6:25Speaker 1: want to talk about, uh. And this was a big
- 6:27Speaker 1: subject on The Serious Show with black Jack and Laduca
- 6:30Speaker 1: today was Odell Beckham Jr. And Odell Beckham Jr. Had
- 6:34Speaker 1: the story in g Q and said that he was
- 6:37Speaker 1: the brand for the Giants And I don't care about
- 6:41Speaker 1: Odell Beckham leaving the Giants. Give me your take on
- 6:44Speaker 1: the Browns as a Super Bowl bet and as a
- 6:48Speaker 1: season win total. The number is at nine and a half.
- 6:52Speaker 1: What's the juice right now? Because last night checked, I
- 6:55Speaker 1: believe it's plus odds on the over y. Yeah, and
- 6:59Speaker 1: I honestly that the direction that I lane. I mean,
- 7:02Speaker 1: look at the biggest projected wind totals in terms of
- 7:05Speaker 1: strength of schedule, and the Cleveland Browns had the third easiest,
- 7:08Speaker 1: right behind New England in the New York Jets, So
- 7:10Speaker 1: it's very appealing. The offensive line's got some question marks,
- 7:13Speaker 1: but you know, Nick Chubb is a battering Rammy led
- 7:16Speaker 1: all running backs last season in yards after contact per attempts. Uh.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You added Odell Beckham and his explosiveness in the open
- 7:23Speaker 1: field and his route savvy to go along with an
- 7:25Speaker 1: underneath weapon that adds that balance in Jarvis Landry David
- 7:28Speaker 1: and Joe Coup. You hope you got a hands transplant
- 7:31Speaker 1: this past all season because of all the drops that
- 7:33Speaker 1: he's had over the last couple of seasons. But we
- 7:36Speaker 1: know his athletic profile is through the roof, and I
- 7:39Speaker 1: like antonio'callaway as well as that complimentary outside weapon who
- 7:43Speaker 1: was equally dynamic in terms of downfield contribution. So we
- 7:48Speaker 1: go along with Baker Mayfield's maybe Duke Johnson sticks around,
- 7:52Speaker 1: maybe not. Uh. You know, eventually you're gonna get Kareem
- 7:55Speaker 1: hut back off suspension that eight gamer uh, and the
- 7:57Speaker 1: defensive upgrades as well. And I think that you know,
- 8:01Speaker 1: at plus one ten plus one fifteen on the over
- 8:04Speaker 1: is a stage wager. However, if you're betting on the
- 8:07Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns right now to win the Super Bowl, it's
- 8:10Speaker 1: a dumb wager. There's no value there. I was in
- 8:13Speaker 1: Vegas two weeks ago at Caesar's Palace and the odds
- 8:16Speaker 1: were eight to one for the Brownies to hoist the
- 8:19Speaker 1: Lombardi Trophies. You know, it's ridiculous. I know there has
- 8:23Speaker 1: been an exodus of Browns fans that have flooded Thinn
- 8:26Speaker 1: City and they're just like, oh, you gotta put a
- 8:28Speaker 1: lot of it. Are drawn mind Cleveland brown and it's
- 8:32Speaker 1: you know, hammering that line down as a result of it.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I think they're better bets on the board, like the Colts,
- 8:37Speaker 1: who I think are eleven or twelve to one and
- 8:39Speaker 1: some locals. I think that's a team that is better
- 8:42Speaker 1: constructed to contend against New England Patriot's in the a
- 8:46Speaker 1: f C. But no way, I'm betting on Cleveland and
- 8:48Speaker 1: win the whole anche a lot at April one. Yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I mean, and Brad you mentioned about about, you know,
- 8:52Speaker 1: the Browns, and you kind of like that over on
- 8:54Speaker 1: the wind total. Are you a little concerned that you
- 8:56Speaker 1: know they've got a first year head coach there in
- 8:58Speaker 1: Freddie Kitchens, and this is a team that never has
- 9:02Speaker 1: had an expectation of winning and now it's there. And
- 9:06Speaker 1: I just worry that if they get out to maybe
- 9:07Speaker 1: a one and two or you know, too and four start,
- 9:10Speaker 1: that that could be a lot of pressure on a
- 9:13Speaker 1: young team with some personality on it. I think it's
- 9:17Speaker 1: a fair assessment. But here's the good news of Freddy
- 9:19Speaker 1: Kitchens is the fact that there is finally some continuity,
- 9:23Speaker 1: right because you've got your hold over quarterback, the franchise
- 9:25Speaker 1: guy in Baker Mayfield. Uh, you know who can throw
- 9:29Speaker 1: a football through a key hole. He's so accurate. And
- 9:32Speaker 1: having him, you know, Kitchens calling the shots an offensive
- 9:36Speaker 1: coordinator and then later in the season, uh, and that,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you know, is that head coaching position. And in having
- 9:41Speaker 1: that carry over, I think it's been valuable to the organization,
- 9:45Speaker 1: to Mayfield as a whole. So, you know, that's been
- 9:48Speaker 1: the bugaboo for Cleveland. It's just general impatience. You know,
- 9:51Speaker 1: in the past, it's like, uh, you know, you draft
- 9:54Speaker 1: the quarterback, it was taken Couch or whoever. Uh, and
- 9:56Speaker 1: then the next thason you had a different quarterback and
- 9:58Speaker 1: a different head coach, and for OC they would burn
- 10:01Speaker 1: the house down and quickly rebuild, hoping to strike it
- 10:06Speaker 1: rich the very next year. Now, Alicia, have some consistency,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and I think that's gonna pay off enormously in But
- 10:15Speaker 1: you're right, Cleveland's ever been in a position where they're
- 10:18Speaker 1: deemed the favorite. Can they really deliver under that? You guys?
- 10:23Speaker 1: Under that pressure? I think they can, especially when you
- 10:26Speaker 1: have a guy like Odell Beckham to throw the ball
- 10:29Speaker 1: to downfield. So you mentioned the Colts at eleven or
- 10:32Speaker 1: twelve to one. One of us sitting here at this table,
- 10:37Speaker 1: who's not revealing his chest hair butt the Colts at
- 10:40Speaker 1: oh twin the Super Bowl? Uh, what do you think
- 10:44Speaker 1: of that? Brad? I think that's sexy. I think that's
- 10:47Speaker 1: an incredible value. It's not sexy, it's not it's not Brad.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I have to disagree with you. You've been probably the
- 10:55Speaker 1: greatest guest we've ever had on this podcast so far,
- 10:58Speaker 1: but I have to disagree with you because it's throwing
- 11:01Speaker 1: your money away. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick still live
- 11:04Speaker 1: in the a f C. The Colts are not beating them.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It's not happening. What do you think of there's one
- 11:10Speaker 1: team that has the potential to beat New England. It's
- 11:12Speaker 1: Kansas City. And that's it, all right. I got a
- 11:14Speaker 1: couple of things here. I distracted us because I wanted
- 11:19Speaker 1: to finish one thing on the Browns, because the other
- 11:21Speaker 1: sort of popular bet is the Browns to win the
- 11:24Speaker 1: a f C North, which I'm also against. Brad, What
- 11:27Speaker 1: is your take? What are the odds on that chab?
- 11:30Speaker 1: I can't remember. It's like plus. I think it's like,
- 11:33Speaker 1: oh no, they're they're the favorite. They're like minus. I
- 11:37Speaker 1: want to say one seventies something like that. You think
- 11:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask the question, I would know the answer.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I think Storming Area one is a better idea. Yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 1: it's like to me, and you mentioned the nine and
- 11:49Speaker 1: a half, even though it's plus money, Um, I still
- 11:53Speaker 1: don't like it. Like I like him under, I am
- 11:55Speaker 1: just not buying this team. I think they're goosed so
- 11:59Speaker 1: high in their season win total that there's no way,
- 12:04Speaker 1: no way I can bet on them. That's like you're
- 12:06Speaker 1: basically betting with the public. At this point. It just
- 12:08Speaker 1: feels like I've lost any value whatsoever on this team.
- 12:12Speaker 1: They are they are overinflated at every level to win
- 12:16Speaker 1: the division, to win the super Bowl, and I think
- 12:18Speaker 1: on their season win total, it's a pass for me,
- 12:21Speaker 1: it's a pass under. I'm actually I did wager on
- 12:24Speaker 1: the Browns over while I was at seasons. I think
- 12:26Speaker 1: I got it at one fifteen on the nine and
- 12:29Speaker 1: a half win total. Again, I I just keep going
- 12:31Speaker 1: back to the third easiest projected NFL strength of schedule,
- 12:35Speaker 1: and that's based on Vegas projected win totals. So you know,
- 12:38Speaker 1: obviously there's there's an argument to me made. You know,
- 12:41Speaker 1: there's a lack of consistency year to year in the NFL,
- 12:44Speaker 1: and you know it's a very unpredictable in terms of
- 12:47Speaker 1: productivity across the board. But again plus one fifteen, I
- 12:51Speaker 1: think there is value there. That is the only value
- 12:54Speaker 1: wager tied to the Cleveland Browns organization this year. All right,
- 12:57Speaker 1: So why do you think my pick with the cultist,
- 12:59Speaker 1: Sexy and black Jack does not? Well? I think they
- 13:03Speaker 1: have all the best offensive lines in the NFL. You know,
- 13:05Speaker 1: they've got everybody back that's gonna be a top five unit.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I think Marlon Mack is on the precipice becoming an
- 13:11Speaker 1: RB one and twelve team fantasy league this season. Uh,
- 13:14Speaker 1: he's he's an absolute rolling beer keg Uh. I think
- 13:18Speaker 1: he's gonna be knocking down to Sender's left and right.
- 13:20Speaker 1: The guy that was very efficient terms of yards after
- 13:23Speaker 1: contact per attempt. You have not heam hind there to
- 13:26Speaker 1: supplant him in the past game. Who's an a depth
- 13:29Speaker 1: receiver t Y Hilton when the elite targets in the league,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and you know they've got a number of tight ends.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Eric Ebron his breakout season, Now he's gonna regress. You know,
- 13:38Speaker 1: he's not gonna have twelve touchdowns again, especially well hopefully
- 13:42Speaker 1: Jack Doyle back. But Moiley Cox former VCU stand out
- 13:46Speaker 1: on the hardwood. Uh, they expect to take a step forward.
- 13:49Speaker 1: They've been raining about him, so they can just kind
- 13:51Speaker 1: of rotate those big bodies, big athletic bodies, uh into
- 13:56Speaker 1: the offense. They had Devin Sunchius as well. Yeah, Flora Molasses,
- 14:01Speaker 1: but you know, long, lanky, big targets kind of a
- 14:04Speaker 1: tight end in his own way. And of course the
- 14:07Speaker 1: captain Andrew luck Um, you know, he slays Confederates on
- 14:10Speaker 1: the battlefield and also takes care of business on the
- 14:13Speaker 1: gridiron as well. And and you know, I think he
- 14:16Speaker 1: is going to have a banner season. I like the
- 14:18Speaker 1: defense as well. I don't see a whole lot of
- 14:20Speaker 1: weaknesses with the Colts in their middle of the pack.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Again according to strength of schedule based on projected Vegas
- 14:26Speaker 1: win total. So pull all together and even at eleven
- 14:29Speaker 1: or twelve to one, I still think there's some value there.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Talk about the Chiefs for a second. The Chiefs. Obviously
- 14:37Speaker 1: they get Tyreek Hill back with the news that came
- 14:40Speaker 1: out last week that he's not going to be suspended.
- 14:43Speaker 1: That team looks, I mean, every bit as good as
- 14:46Speaker 1: as last year offensively. Damian Williams, I'd like to kind
- 14:49Speaker 1: of get your thoughts on him because to me, he
- 14:51Speaker 1: looks like he can fill in perfectly for Kareem Hunt
- 14:54Speaker 1: in that offense. Yeah, I agree. I am fully both
- 14:58Speaker 1: cheeks on the bandwagon playing to it right now. In
- 15:01Speaker 1: terms of Damian Williams, even in the back half of rounds,
- 15:04Speaker 1: round two or twelve team exercises, whether it's tap point
- 15:06Speaker 1: PPR standard, I don't think it matters. I mean, let
- 15:08Speaker 1: me just extrapolates some data for you, gentlemen, and I
- 15:11Speaker 1: understand it's a small sample size, but over the last
- 15:14Speaker 1: six games of last season, that includes the playoffs. The
- 15:18Speaker 1: Chiefs had a couple of games in Williams. If you
- 15:21Speaker 1: extrapolate what he did over sixteen games during that six
- 15:24Speaker 1: game stretch, it shakes out to one thousand, six hundred
- 15:27Speaker 1: five totally yards and get this, twenty six total touchdowns.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Let me repeat that, twenty six total touchdowns totally priest homes.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I mean, you're right. I love the offensive line, I
- 15:43Speaker 1: love the offense. I've entire killed back is a giant
- 15:45Speaker 1: shot in the arm for this offense. The biggest bugaboo
- 15:50Speaker 1: for Kansas City as a whole is this defense sucks.
- 15:53Speaker 1: It is awful on paper. They are gonna get eviscerated times.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I understand that my home is gonna regress off the
- 15:59Speaker 1: fifty touchdowns. I don't think that's gonna be replicated. Uh
- 16:03Speaker 1: you know, could he get forty again, Sure, because he's
- 16:05Speaker 1: gonna be thrust into a lot of high volume situations,
- 16:08Speaker 1: knowing the shortcomings in that in uh, inadequacies of the
- 16:12Speaker 1: other side of the ball. But getting back to Williams,
- 16:14Speaker 1: You're sitting there, you know, a pick three overall, and
- 16:18Speaker 1: you're like, yeah, this guy was just a timeshare, no
- 16:21Speaker 1: nothing in Miami. Then he exploded over a small sample
- 16:24Speaker 1: size last year. Can I really trust him? Dude? Look
- 16:26Speaker 1: who's behind him. It's Carlos hide the big potato. He's done.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So absolutely go all in on Damian Williams. You will
- 16:33Speaker 1: not regret it. Uh? All right? Do you agree with
- 16:37Speaker 1: the fact that the Chiefs are the only team we're
- 16:42Speaker 1: betting on in the a f C other than the Patriots.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I do like the Chargers, but I have been seduced
- 16:49Speaker 1: by the Chargers. I think for the last twenty years
- 16:51Speaker 1: running you and every single better in that generation. There's
- 16:58Speaker 1: just no doubt about I did it last times last
- 17:01Speaker 1: year did we Chargers are going to be the team?
- 17:04Speaker 1: And we screwed up every single time? So, Brad, did
- 17:07Speaker 1: you know what I don't. I don't think the the
- 17:09Speaker 1: line of reasoning was off. I think we all were
- 17:13Speaker 1: justified in our stances. It just didn't shake out. And
- 17:16Speaker 1: you know that happens in betting, it happens in fantasy.
- 17:18Speaker 1: But this is a team, you know, provided that Melvin
- 17:21Speaker 1: Gordon signs on the dotted line relents in his standoff
- 17:25Speaker 1: right now with the front office, both really dug in.
- 17:28Speaker 1: According to Charles Robinson, my colleague, extraordinary colleague at Yahoo
- 17:31Speaker 1: Sports reporting at yesterday. We'll see what shakes out there.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Because Gordon is a key cog on this team. They
- 17:37Speaker 1: can't go over to the regular season with Austin Ekeler
- 17:39Speaker 1: and Justin Jackson in that backfield and expect them to
- 17:42Speaker 1: replicate the results of the Melvin Gordon. But again, I
- 17:45Speaker 1: like the team as a whole. I think Mike Williams
- 17:47Speaker 1: a budding star guy that I feel comfortable as my
- 17:50Speaker 1: wide receiver two and twelve team fantasy leagues. Uh, you know,
- 17:54Speaker 1: Tyra Williams has gone out in Oakland. They still got
- 17:57Speaker 1: Keenan Allen there. Um you know. I the offensive line,
- 18:01Speaker 1: Philip Rivers, got plenty of gas lefton tank. And this
- 18:03Speaker 1: is gonna be an outstanding defense. I think it's gonna
- 18:05Speaker 1: be a top ten units. I really like this team
- 18:08Speaker 1: as a whole. But you know, then again, the charges
- 18:13Speaker 1: are broken our hearts time and time again. But guys,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. Maybe it's me reflecting
- 18:18Speaker 1: nostalgically on stand Humphreys and Natron means from the nineteen nineties.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But there's just something about the charters where I am
- 18:26Speaker 1: always influenced. I am always seduced by the potential and
- 18:30Speaker 1: upside that can't resist it. Wow. Well, you take a
- 18:33Speaker 1: look at the NFC brand. I mean, the NFC is
- 18:36Speaker 1: feels more wide open than the a f C. Does
- 18:38Speaker 1: it felt that way last year? You know, we talked
- 18:40Speaker 1: about teams that may regress a little bit. What about
- 18:43Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears, because there's no way they can turn
- 18:46Speaker 1: the ball over as many times as they did last year.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I mean, you would think that number has to come
- 18:49Speaker 1: back to earth a little bit. Do you think the
- 18:51Speaker 1: Bears are are primed for a little bit of regression
- 18:54Speaker 1: this season? Okay, now truth be told. Uh, you know,
- 18:58Speaker 1: open book here, I'm at I heart Bears fang all right,
- 19:01Speaker 1: So I'm going to attempt to answer this question with
- 19:04Speaker 1: as much objectivity as humanly possible. But I am a
- 19:08Speaker 1: little bit biased. I love the Bears. I love the
- 19:11Speaker 1: Bears looked like on paper this year. I think the
- 19:14Speaker 1: key addition, the key acquisition they made this offseason with
- 19:18Speaker 1: David Montgomery and uh, I was saying this before the
- 19:21Speaker 1: NFL Draft. You can follow me on Twitter at Yahoo
- 19:23Speaker 1: Noise or screaming from the highest mountaintop here in Denver, Colorado,
- 19:27Speaker 1: where I live. You know from the top of Pike's
- 19:29Speaker 1: Peak that the Bears had to get Montgomery. Montgomery was
- 19:33Speaker 1: the guy wanted. Ryan Pace apparently heard me, traded up
- 19:38Speaker 1: and acquired him. The guy is special. He's so slippery.
- 19:42Speaker 1: He made a first defender myth last season in Iowa
- 19:44Speaker 1: State on forty one point seven percent of his rush attempts.
- 19:48Speaker 1: That was number two at all of college football. Is
- 19:51Speaker 1: the only running back in the Pro Football Focus era
- 19:53Speaker 1: to go over a hundred miss tackles in a season.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And he not only did that once, but he did
- 19:58Speaker 1: it twice behind a relatively shoddy consecutive seasons of an
- 20:02Speaker 1: offensive line that I would stay put on the field.
- 20:04Speaker 1: So uh. He looks to me like the new the
- 20:07Speaker 1: two point oh version of Matt Vorte. And you couple
- 20:11Speaker 1: that with Terie Colon, who I think you play more
- 20:14Speaker 1: of a Tyreek Hill like role within this offensive scheme.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Al Robinson dependable outside weapon, Taylor Gabriel multidimensional assets, Trade Burton,
- 20:24Speaker 1: a guy that smells slous. You can do some of
- 20:26Speaker 1: that dirty work across the middle. You hope the Trabinsky advances.
- 20:31Speaker 1: And you know I did a hit on six Score
- 20:33Speaker 1: in Chicago, and Lawrence Solimes, a great host there, asked
- 20:36Speaker 1: me a question goes, is Mitch Trobinsky good? And I
- 20:39Speaker 1: don't think he is, but the scheme elevates his game
- 20:43Speaker 1: because Matt Mage is a genius and he knows how
- 20:46Speaker 1: to push the right buttons at the right time. And
- 20:48Speaker 1: this defense. You're right, they are going to regress in
- 20:51Speaker 1: terms of the turnover margin, but it should be the
- 20:54Speaker 1: best unit in football if everybody saves healthy. I did
- 20:57Speaker 1: wager on the Bears at plus one eight to win
- 21:01Speaker 1: the NFC North. I went heavy wood on that. I
- 21:04Speaker 1: felt very confident about it. I think they're the best
- 21:07Speaker 1: team in that division. Of the division is ascending with Minnesota.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Of course, Green Bay all the the Lions stock except
- 21:12Speaker 1: for Matthew Stafford beer chugging game, which is off the charts.
- 21:15Speaker 1: But I do like the Bears enormous amount, and I
- 21:19Speaker 1: think you're gonna see them just the rottle Green Bay
- 21:23Speaker 1: in week one. And black Jack actually heard you on
- 21:25Speaker 1: the Action Network this morning say you're taking the Packers
- 21:28Speaker 1: and the points. I'm a la duke on this one.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Lay the chalk minus three and a half, all right,
- 21:34Speaker 1: As a fellow Bearers. As a fellow Bears fan, here's
- 21:37Speaker 1: what I have to say. Number One, it's interesting to
- 21:41Speaker 1: me that this is the year in which the Bears
- 21:45Speaker 1: are just getting so much love from the betting public,
- 21:48Speaker 1: and Mitch Trobiski is getting so much love not just
- 21:52Speaker 1: from the betting public, but also from professional betters as
- 21:55Speaker 1: the like as the guy with the best value to
- 21:58Speaker 1: win this season m v P. Here's what I take
- 22:02Speaker 1: issue with. I'm not saying the guy is good, but
- 22:05Speaker 1: I do think last year, if Mattnege leaves the ball
- 22:07Speaker 1: in Mitch Trubisky's hands in a couple of games, they
- 22:10Speaker 1: win those games. I think he made some bad decisions
- 22:13Speaker 1: last year and took the ball out of his hands
- 22:16Speaker 1: and got really conservative, including in the playoffs when Trubisky
- 22:20Speaker 1: continued to find people deep um and they could have
- 22:24Speaker 1: been much closer than forty three yards on an ice
- 22:26Speaker 1: patch and missed that field goal. So, uh, he might
- 22:30Speaker 1: not be great. I don't think he's the guy who
- 22:32Speaker 1: should be getting all the money for the m v P.
- 22:35Speaker 1: But I don't think he's bad. No, that's I mean,
- 22:38Speaker 1: he's okay. I think that's the way of putting it.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Um and he's just all right, uh you know he's
- 22:44Speaker 1: he's taco bell after having not your drinking all right,
- 22:48Speaker 1: right right, you know, give me that big beef Mexic melt.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's gonna be delicious. I may regret it tomorrow, but
- 22:54Speaker 1: you know it's one of those decisions you have to make. Um.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You know. The one area he really needs to improve
- 22:59Speaker 1: is on third downs. I think his success right it
- 23:02Speaker 1: was like thirty eight or thirty nine percent according to
- 23:04Speaker 1: Warren Sharp and Sharp Football Stats. By the way, to
- 23:07Speaker 1: pick up Warren Sharp's book, I get nothing out of it.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Warren does, but it's an excellent resource to have in
- 23:12Speaker 1: your stash when you're research and for fantasy or betting.
- 23:15Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean he needs to make some strides.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I think his route tree, in terms of his ability
- 23:20Speaker 1: to pass consistently and accurately, was extremely limited, and he's
- 23:24Speaker 1: expand that. But again, Nangie, having Montgomery on the field,
- 23:28Speaker 1: who's gonna do it all back, gives him the freedom
- 23:31Speaker 1: to move Cohen around, to move Gabriel around a little
- 23:35Speaker 1: bit more in a maximize efficiency. That's why I feel
- 23:39Speaker 1: Montgomery's addition is the most important for the Bears as
- 23:43Speaker 1: long as the kid can deliver, and you're gonna see
- 23:45Speaker 1: plenty of them, as Matt Niggie has already come out
- 23:48Speaker 1: and said this preseason, and I think you're gonna be
- 23:50Speaker 1: impressed with what you see. Brad. How concerned to you
- 23:53Speaker 1: about Todd Gurley's knee? I mean, you know, we talk
- 23:56Speaker 1: on the show about him almost every day now. I
- 23:59Speaker 1: I kind of I've bumped him out of the first
- 24:01Speaker 1: round of most of my drafts at this point. Um,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I just don't know what's going on there. Obviously there's
- 24:08Speaker 1: something with it with an arthritic condition. But what are
- 24:11Speaker 1: you expecting to see out of Gurley? And where are
- 24:12Speaker 1: you taking him in your drafts? Oh? Good lord, I
- 24:15Speaker 1: am staying far, far, far away from Todd Gurley. Even
- 24:19Speaker 1: if he felled around three, I am not willing to yeah,
- 24:22Speaker 1: willing to spend the draftic. Would you'd rather have an
- 24:24Speaker 1: Aaron Jones. I'd rather have a Marlon mack uh maybe
- 24:27Speaker 1: day and Williams if you were there in the early
- 24:29Speaker 1: portion of round three, I think they're better. I've got
- 24:31Speaker 1: girly better options. I've got Girly at RB twenty one
- 24:34Speaker 1: currently in my rank, and all I had to do
- 24:37Speaker 1: was follow the paper trail, you know, follow the evidence, right,
- 24:40Speaker 1: It's spelled out in five points. And I'm actually writing
- 24:43Speaker 1: an article on yeah who sports pre dame in the
- 24:45Speaker 1: l A. Rams that I lay the entire case out
- 24:49Speaker 1: of why you should abstain from drafting him. I mean
- 24:52Speaker 1: you go back to April. Uh, you know the acquisition
- 24:54Speaker 1: of Darryl Henderson at number seventy overall. Uh, guy, that
- 24:58Speaker 1: let's need the GM of the Rams compared or to
- 25:00Speaker 1: Alvin Kamara, and I only the app of a you know,
- 25:02Speaker 1: signed restricted free agent match the offer sheet from Malcolm Brown.
- 25:06Speaker 1: That's the red flag. Sean McVay said in early May. Hey,
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know we feature eleven personnel nine of the time
- 25:12Speaker 1: last year. That's the three wide receiver, single back set.
- 25:15Speaker 1: You know, I think we need to teach you more
- 25:17Speaker 1: to running back sets this upcoming year. Another red flag. Uh,
- 25:21Speaker 1: you go back to Ian Rappaport's report in June saying
- 25:24Speaker 1: that Gurly's bell cow days or quote probably over. Around
- 25:29Speaker 1: that same time, there were rumors starting to swirl that
- 25:31Speaker 1: his snapshare was going to dive as well. Another red flag.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Red flag number four. Just last month, girl Strainer confirmed
- 25:39Speaker 1: his client is dealing with an our threatic component of
- 25:42Speaker 1: his knee and our threetic freaking knee folks, and said
- 25:46Speaker 1: that the team is managing that. There you go. And
- 25:49Speaker 1: number five on July tenth, just a couple of weeks ago,
- 25:53Speaker 1: the running back, when asked about how much this knee
- 25:57Speaker 1: was impacting him, he came out and this is what
- 25:59Speaker 1: he said directly, Guys, can you tell me if this
- 26:01Speaker 1: inspire is any confidence? You said? Quote, it's good, man,
- 26:05Speaker 1: it's good. I'm just like, hey, we're gonna find out
- 26:09Speaker 1: in training camp. You know, Brett Evans, Listen, that was
- 26:15Speaker 1: an incredible forensic examination of Todd Gurley. And that's coming
- 26:20Speaker 1: on the heels of an incredible take on the Bears
- 26:25Speaker 1: and David Montgomery. You have so convinced me that like
- 26:28Speaker 1: I should be taking David Montgomery and betting so much
- 26:31Speaker 1: more on the Bears than I should be on the Rams.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Is that the Is that what I should be inferring
- 26:35Speaker 1: from this? Yes? Absolutely, And condolences to your pocketbook if
- 26:39Speaker 1: you do hashtag faith we Okay, here's the other one
- 26:45Speaker 1: and UH. You know our friends at the UH who
- 26:48Speaker 1: do the Action Network Fantasy and Action Network NFL podcast
- 26:51Speaker 1: Matthew Freedman and and Chris Raybon and Sean Corner. Uh.
- 26:55Speaker 1: They are in a hashtag draft Kyler Murray frenzy. They
- 27:02Speaker 1: love Kyler Murray and everything about him. Do you have
- 27:08Speaker 1: a take? I'm Kyler Murray. I know the answer, but
- 27:11Speaker 1: I want you to give it to the people. Let
- 27:13Speaker 1: me remove my belt slowly just by this year mention
- 27:16Speaker 1: of Kyler Murray. I do have a take. I'm in
- 27:19Speaker 1: agreement with your colleagues. He is my this highest QB
- 27:24Speaker 1: currently in my ranks. Uh. And here's the reason why. Look,
- 27:27Speaker 1: I understand it's uh, you know, hear the unknown. We
- 27:30Speaker 1: don't know if Cliff Kingsbury's offensive scheme is going to
- 27:33Speaker 1: transfer seamlessly to the NFL level. But what I do
- 27:37Speaker 1: know is that it's gonna take half the season for
- 27:39Speaker 1: defensive coordinators to adjust to tweak, to pivot, uh, to
- 27:43Speaker 1: really fully take advantage of what potentially that offense could
- 27:47Speaker 1: give them. I like the weapons around him. I think
- 27:50Speaker 1: Glara Fitzgerald is a lot of gas lefton and tank.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I think Christian Kirk is going to rocket to uranus.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I mean, it's going to be an amazing season for him.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Guy who was very efficient in his routes, had a
- 28:02Speaker 1: high success rate when he was on the field last year.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I like Andy Isabella is a water bug underneath um.
- 28:08Speaker 1: You know. I think David Johnson, he's always aspired to
- 28:11Speaker 1: join the one thousand, one thousand yard club with Roger
- 28:14Speaker 1: Craig and Marshall Falk from Little Bar Trivine to throw
- 28:17Speaker 1: out to your friends who's in that club? Those are
- 28:19Speaker 1: the only two guys I think he could flirt with that.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I understand the offensive line looks dreadful on paper, but
- 28:26Speaker 1: the beauty of the air raid system is spacing. And
- 28:29Speaker 1: I equated to John b Line's offense when he was
- 28:32Speaker 1: head coach at the University of Michigan. It was all
- 28:34Speaker 1: about spreading the floors, swinging the ball around, taking advantage
- 28:38Speaker 1: of one on one matchups. And it is very similar
- 28:41Speaker 1: that style in college basketball and how it's applied to
- 28:45Speaker 1: that style with Cliff ginks Ferry on the grass on
- 28:49Speaker 1: the gridiron. So I think it's, you know, with the
- 28:52Speaker 1: spacing and opening up the lanes, the high efficiency short throws,
- 28:56Speaker 1: the ability for Kyler Murray to tuck and run, He's
- 28:59Speaker 1: gonna be a jack Rabbit of the open field. People like, Oh,
- 29:01Speaker 1: he's so tiny, he's gotta get hurt. Let's he played baseball.
- 29:04Speaker 1: He's gonna be just like Russell Wilson. He'll slide, he'll
- 29:07Speaker 1: get out of bounds. All the tape shows that in
- 29:08Speaker 1: Oklahoma he did that. It was rare that he took
- 29:11Speaker 1: on a big blast. You pull all together, guys, and
- 29:14Speaker 1: I see r G three in his rookie season, something
- 29:17Speaker 1: like thirty eight hundred passing yards, seven hundred rushing yards,
- 29:19Speaker 1: twenty five combined touchdowns. I have been obliterating every single
- 29:24Speaker 1: over that I have seen in terms of player props. Uh,
- 29:27Speaker 1: you know that vandals offered in some of the other
- 29:29Speaker 1: legit houses out there. It's gonna be a banner rookie
- 29:33Speaker 1: season for Kyler Murray. Man. People love Kyler Murray, They
- 29:37Speaker 1: really do. They really. Nobody loves him more than Chris
- 29:40Speaker 1: Raybon nobody. I've never encountered a human being who loves
- 29:44Speaker 1: him more than he does. All right, well, let me
- 29:45Speaker 1: ask you this, then, Brad Evans. You're giving me your
- 29:47Speaker 1: Kyler Murray take. Uh. I know you have another player
- 29:52Speaker 1: on the Packers that you've already been on. Do you
- 29:55Speaker 1: want to name that player and tell us. Why you
- 29:56Speaker 1: did it? Uh? Is it Aaron Joes? I was thinking
- 30:01Speaker 1: Davante Adams, Oh I did. Oh, you're talking about the
- 30:04Speaker 1: receiving touchdowns. We do our research at the Favorites podcast
- 30:09Speaker 1: Curtie's courtesy Matt Mitchell, producer. Extraordinary. Bravo to you. I
- 30:13Speaker 1: totally forgot I made that. Here's the note. Here's the
- 30:15Speaker 1: note from Matt Mitchell. Last week, he's he Matt Mitchell
- 30:18Speaker 1: was a genius. If you don't follow Matt Mitchell, uh,
- 30:21Speaker 1: he's unbelievable. Um. Last week it appeared Brad bet On
- 30:27Speaker 1: Green Bay's Davante Adams attend to one to finish the
- 30:30Speaker 1: NFL season with the most TV receptions. Does he view
- 30:34Speaker 1: this is easy money? Yeah, that's the lows hanging fruit.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I think on the board, ten of one is a gift.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I honestly thought it would be maybe three to one,
- 30:42Speaker 1: four to one, somewhere in that range. But look, you
- 30:45Speaker 1: got Aaron Rodgers back hopefully for the full season. Nobody
- 30:48Speaker 1: had a higher red zone target share than Davante Adams did.
- 30:51Speaker 1: In he had sixteen red zone receptions. That was the
- 30:55Speaker 1: second most of any wide out in the NFL. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 1: he was number two in total touchdowns with thirteen. But
- 31:02Speaker 1: you just pull that together, that confidence level, that report,
- 31:06Speaker 1: that relationship where Aaron Rodgers, you know, when Rogers gets
- 31:10Speaker 1: inside the twenty, he's look in one direction. In one
- 31:12Speaker 1: direction only it's Savante Adams And I don't really see
- 31:15Speaker 1: that altering in Matt Lafair and his system. So for me,
- 31:19Speaker 1: I think that is one of the soundest bets on
- 31:21Speaker 1: the board. Again, I'd hammer living daylights out of it.
- 31:23Speaker 1: You gotta take out a second mortge. Do it? You
- 31:25Speaker 1: want to liquidate the kids college months, do it. Davante
- 31:28Speaker 1: Adams is gonna lead the NFL and receiving touchdowns this year? Wow? Yeah.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I mean I think most people have him usually second
- 31:37Speaker 1: or third as the wide receivers on their board right now. Um,
- 31:42Speaker 1: when you look over to the NFC South Bread and
- 31:44Speaker 1: the Atlanta Falcons, you know, Julio Jones going through a
- 31:48Speaker 1: contract dispute right now. The Falcons, why are you making
- 31:52Speaker 1: those sounds? The Falcons are like the Chargers, I mean
- 31:55Speaker 1: not quite. They are a team that is so not
- 31:58Speaker 1: worth investing in thinking about betting. Gonna ask him a
- 32:03Speaker 1: fantasy question, that's okay. Calvin Ridley, Calvin Ridley had an
- 32:09Speaker 1: excellent rookie season. It's it's hard for rookie wide receivers
- 32:12Speaker 1: to have that kind of impact immediately. What do you
- 32:14Speaker 1: think we see out of him in year two? Do
- 32:16Speaker 1: you think he takes that jump up to be a
- 32:18Speaker 1: wide receiver one this year? No? I don't. In fact,
- 32:22Speaker 1: I would not invest at his average rap position, a
- 32:26Speaker 1: guy that's going run around wide receiver twenty three to
- 32:28Speaker 1: the wide receiver twenty five range, so you know, around
- 32:31Speaker 1: uh pick fifty overall, um, I think they're better options there.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You know, in a way, he's kind of the NFC's
- 32:37Speaker 1: version of Tyler or excuse me, he is the southern
- 32:41Speaker 1: version of the Eastern version of Tyler Locket. I was
- 32:43Speaker 1: thinking Seattle was in the an FC for some reason,
- 32:45Speaker 1: going back old school days. But you know, I think
- 32:48Speaker 1: Calvin Ridley is a guy that really maximized on his opportunities.
- 32:51Speaker 1: You know, you look at his red zone target share
- 32:53Speaker 1: last season. Wide receiver se in that category just twelve
- 32:56Speaker 1: point two percent a time, only saw the football in
- 32:59Speaker 1: his general direction inside the twenty nine total times last year,
- 33:04Speaker 1: Yet he had ten total touchdowns. So what you're banking
- 33:07Speaker 1: on are those home run balls, and again he had
- 33:09Speaker 1: a ton of them. Last year, he only saw a
- 33:11Speaker 1: fifteen two percent of the target show overall that was
- 33:14Speaker 1: wide receiver seventy So he did take advantage of those
- 33:18Speaker 1: opportunities in those instances. But Julio Jones, we know he's
- 33:22Speaker 1: a target talk Mohammed Sanu is still there. Austin Hooper,
- 33:25Speaker 1: for the love of God, welcome to the coach Speak
- 33:28Speaker 1: height season. When Austin Hooper, Uh, the angels are descending
- 33:32Speaker 1: and oh, because he's gonna have like a hundred million
- 33:35Speaker 1: catches this year according to Dan quinn. Um. You know
- 33:39Speaker 1: we have we have officially lived in the upside down
- 33:42Speaker 1: when Austin Hooper is being thrown out there like that.
- 33:44Speaker 1: But uh, you know you pull all that together, Savante
- 33:47Speaker 1: Freeman back uh and healthy. Hopefully you know Smith will
- 33:51Speaker 1: take on more of a second year roll. I just
- 33:53Speaker 1: don't see the targets here increasing, and I just don't
- 33:56Speaker 1: think it's bankable for him to get back the double
- 33:58Speaker 1: digit touchdowns overall. So he's one of the guy as
- 34:00Speaker 1: that I am steering clear of. Give me a Tyler
- 34:02Speaker 1: Boy instead at a very similar price point. Here's my
- 34:07Speaker 1: last question for Brad Evans, who really knows everything about
- 34:11Speaker 1: fantasy embedding. I bet the Cowboys to win the NFC
- 34:15Speaker 1: attend to one in favor or against. Ah, well, that's
- 34:23Speaker 1: a tough one against. Give me a team with better value. Honestly,
- 34:30Speaker 1: it's tend of one. I think that's an extraordinary value.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I can see it's. Um, I don't know. If I
- 34:34Speaker 1: you know, maybe a couple of beers in I would
- 34:36Speaker 1: be convinced. Oh yeah, I'll throw up Ben Franklin on that.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Why the hell not. Let's let it ride at ten
- 34:41Speaker 1: of one. See if daddy can make some money. Uh,
- 34:43Speaker 1: make my wife happy. Um, So it's kind I mean
- 34:47Speaker 1: you look at the offensive line, it's it's still one
- 34:48Speaker 1: of the better units in football. It's gonna be a
- 34:50Speaker 1: top ten unit in the minimum. You know, they got
- 34:52Speaker 1: to figure out the Zeke Elliott situation with a contract,
- 34:54Speaker 1: because he is the engine that pumps the pistons in
- 34:57Speaker 1: this offense, whether it's on the ground or through the air. Uh,
- 35:00Speaker 1: Mark Cooper, They're gonna have to deal with that contract
- 35:03Speaker 1: is feed. Everybody's kind of waiting on Michael Thomas and
- 35:04Speaker 1: what whether or not he's gonna sign for what he
- 35:07Speaker 1: wants at twenty million a year. Uh, and I like
- 35:09Speaker 1: that Press got a lot and in reality and especially
- 35:12Speaker 1: in fantasy because you're getting him right now like QB seventeen,
- 35:14Speaker 1: QB eighteen, and I think he's gonna be a top
- 35:16Speaker 1: twelve QB when it's all said and done. A guy
- 35:18Speaker 1: that scored six rushing touchdowns and three consecutive seasons. Uh.
- 35:22Speaker 1: You know those scoring duelists like the Kyler Murray's the World,
- 35:25Speaker 1: the Josh Allens the World, Lamar Jackson, they all have
- 35:28Speaker 1: a tremendous amount of fantas value because they always have
- 35:30Speaker 1: high floors given their multidimensionality on the field. So you know,
- 35:34Speaker 1: the defense is you know, a top fifteen unit. You're
- 35:38Speaker 1: winning that bet. You're definitely gonna win that bet. I
- 35:41Speaker 1: like how this team is constructed. And we know that
- 35:44Speaker 1: Washington blows. We know that the Giants put them in
- 35:47Speaker 1: concrete boots and sent him to the East River. They're terrible. Uh.
- 35:51Speaker 1: So it's it's really Philli in Dallas, and uh, you know,
- 35:54Speaker 1: I think Dallas is right there to contend. All Right.
- 35:57Speaker 1: The last team that I want to talk about, what
- 36:00Speaker 1: this is really your last question? Well, he just brought
- 36:04Speaker 1: one up that, like, everybody is talking about Philly. Everyone
- 36:06Speaker 1: thinks Philly is the team to beat in the NFC.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Everyone is excited about what they can do with Carson
- 36:13Speaker 1: Wentz being back full year from injury. I'm not buying Philly.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I'm not buying Philly on their total. I'm not buying
- 36:20Speaker 1: Philly as a super Bowl favorite. I'm not buying Philly
- 36:23Speaker 1: is the team that all of a sudden, everybody believes in.
- 36:27Speaker 1: They're in the conversation because they have the fourth easiest
- 36:29Speaker 1: schedule again according to projected biggest win totals. Again, I
- 36:33Speaker 1: like that. I think they have the best offensive line
- 36:35Speaker 1: in the NFL. Pro Football Focus agrees with me. That's
- 36:38Speaker 1: where they ranked them. But can Carson Wentz stay healthy?
- 36:42Speaker 1: That's the sixty four thousand dollar questions. You have to
- 36:44Speaker 1: do it, and you know he is bitten by the injury,
- 36:47Speaker 1: and then it's catastrophic, I mean, it's a game change,
- 36:51Speaker 1: and then Folds isn't there anymore? You know, So that
- 36:54Speaker 1: that worries me. Um The ground game they gotta figure out.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I think Miles Sanders is enormously talented, and I think
- 37:00Speaker 1: the cream will eventually rise to the top and he'll
- 37:04Speaker 1: take that backfield over, but it's gonna be turnstyle. George
- 37:07Speaker 1: Howard's there. You know, it could be decent in a pinch,
- 37:10Speaker 1: as we've seen, guy that can definitely score inside the
- 37:13Speaker 1: red zone. Corey Clements there. Darren Sprawles has been around
- 37:16Speaker 1: since I believe the Bronze age. Uh, he's held back
- 37:20Speaker 1: at that backfield. Corey Clements there. You know, it's it's rotational,
- 37:24Speaker 1: but I think they really need a true blue, three
- 37:26Speaker 1: down running back. I think Sanders can be that guy,
- 37:28Speaker 1: but it's good take several weeks for them to get there.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Like al Sean Jeffrey z Eckert with a more sure
- 37:33Speaker 1: handed tight ends in the league. Again, it just boiled
- 37:36Speaker 1: down to win and his health and based on the
- 37:39Speaker 1: track record what we've seen, Um, you know, he suffers
- 37:42Speaker 1: an injury and it's you know, substantial, then Philly is
- 37:45Speaker 1: in a whole lot of trouble. But again, just looking
- 37:48Speaker 1: at the surface, looking at the strength, looking at how
- 37:51Speaker 1: easy the schedule is, I understand why people are fully
- 37:54Speaker 1: on the Eagles bandwagon. Brad Evans at Yahoo Noise on Twitter,
- 38:00Speaker 1: go read his stuff. It's phenomenal. Uh, he's doing a
- 38:03Speaker 1: little more betting stuff this year is dipped his toe
- 38:05Speaker 1: in there a lot of fantasy stuff, host a Fantasy
- 38:09Speaker 1: Football hour on TV. He's everywhere, man, you gotta go,
- 38:13Speaker 1: you gotta find stuff. Just find any platform that people
- 38:16Speaker 1: are on. He's available. This is accurate. I am, and
- 38:21Speaker 1: I even danced on the three corner for change. I
- 38:23Speaker 1: thought I thought Blackjack would weigh in and be like, yeah,
- 38:26Speaker 1: you know what, he was really good today, Brad's I
- 38:29Speaker 1: called him the best guest we've ever had. I know
- 38:31Speaker 1: what you could follow it up or something I didn't
- 38:33Speaker 1: know if you were done talking. You love the sound
- 38:35Speaker 1: of your own voice because of your spectacular job, Brad
- 38:41Speaker 1: in the face of nothing but adversity coming from Chad.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Good job. I appreciate it. Make sure you give Laduc
