- 0:14Speaker 1: yard practice shots. It's a great place to chip and
- 0:16Speaker 1: putt and practice. If you don't have time for a
- 0:19Speaker 1: full round, book your tea time today golf dot Breck
- 0:23Speaker 1: dot org. Golf dot Breck dot org. Today is mine
- 0:27Speaker 1: and Erica's thirteenth wedding anniversary. Not that I need congratulations
- 0:33Speaker 1: or anything like that. You'll understand why I bring that up.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And I'm very happily married. I'm a very very very
- 0:38Speaker 1: lucky man, beautiful woman who gave me an awesome son
- 0:43Speaker 1: and his great mom, and I'm just I'm a very,
- 0:46Speaker 1: very very blessed person. I was thinking about this today
- 0:54Speaker 1: because Mickey Loomis was a meeting with reporters kind of
- 1:01Speaker 1: updating the coaching search and just Saints offseason stuff. And
- 1:06Speaker 1: I'm listening to him talk and he had a forty
- 1:08Speaker 1: five minute press conference, and I couldn't help but think that,
- 1:16Speaker 1: like everything he said just annoyed me. And you know
- 1:25Speaker 1: how sometimes like I can't relate to this, So if
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm speaking out of turn, and I apologize, but some
- 1:31Speaker 1: of you will understand what I'm saying. Like sometimes in
- 1:35Speaker 1: a relationship where you've gone like you've passed the point
- 1:38Speaker 1: of no return and you're just done with someone, everything
- 1:42Speaker 1: they say and everything they do just annoys you. It
- 1:44Speaker 1: bothers you. You criticize everything like it just they can't
- 1:47Speaker 1: do anything right. You hear that a lot, like with
- 1:50Speaker 1: couples that split, either in a matterage you're dating or whatever.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And I feel like, as a Saints fan, I've gotten
- 2:02Speaker 1: to that point with Mickey Loomis, Like everything about Mickey
- 2:06Speaker 1: Loomis now bothers me. His smug face, smacking on the gum,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and his unwillingness to acknowledge any fault with anything they're
- 2:20Speaker 1: doing within this organization. And today I had to listen
- 2:24Speaker 1: to Mickey Loomis for forty five minutes, piss on my
- 2:29Speaker 1: head and tell me it's raining. Like remember in the
- 2:34Speaker 1: off season, of course you do when he shows up
- 2:39Speaker 1: at that press conference and he starts rattling off the
- 2:43Speaker 1: stats of Chuck Noll and Tom Landry and Bill Belichick,
- 2:47Speaker 1: all these amazing all time coaches who had rough beginnings
- 2:51Speaker 1: to their coaching career, and he tried to compare them
- 2:54Speaker 1: to Dennis Allen. Never mind the fact that we saw
- 2:57Speaker 1: Dennis Allen fall on his face in Oakland and then
- 3:00Speaker 1: he's falling on his face again in New Orleans. Like
- 3:04Speaker 1: the audacity of Mickey Loomis to try to compare Dennis
- 3:08Speaker 1: when we all were like, are you kidding me? This
- 3:10Speaker 1: is the energy you're bringing. So today Mickey Loomis is
- 3:14Speaker 1: meeting with reporters and he's asked, Hey, do you regret
- 3:19Speaker 1: going so hard than in the defense of Dennis Allen.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Listen to what he said.
- 3:24Speaker 3: No, I don't regret any of it. Dennis Allen's a
- 3:26Speaker 3: really good football coach. Yeah, so I don't regret any
- 3:29Speaker 3: of that.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Oh my god, Like I just.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I kind of hate everything about Mickey Loomis right now,
- 3:43Speaker 1: like all of it, I've reached the point of no return.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And in some other context, like you know how when
- 3:54Speaker 1: when couples break up, like sometimes after they break up,
- 3:58Speaker 1: then they can be am a you know what I mean?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Like that makes sense? You use your friends aren't starting,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Your friends are still getting married, they're not getting divorced yet.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You'll get to that point. Your friends get married, then
- 4:08Speaker 1: your kids have babies, and your kids your friends are
- 4:09Speaker 1: getting divorced.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Like, that's how it goes. That's the circle. That's how
- 4:12Speaker 2: we're all connected in the great circle of life. Don't worry,
- 4:14Speaker 2: Adams will get divorced soon enough. Jeez, come on.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Far guy, Adams. I wish you and your wife. It's
- 4:21Speaker 1: a bit I apologize, Adams. I wish you and your wife.
- 4:24Speaker 2: What's it? What's her name? Brooke?
- 4:25Speaker 1: I wish Adams had brooked nothing but the best. But
- 4:27Speaker 1: you are rude as hell. Adams could married football season.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Oh he's cruising for a divorce anyway.
- 4:37Speaker 2: That's that's what this is about. Back to Mickey Loomis, Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Like.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Play another one. He was like, this is just the
- 4:47Speaker 2: forty five minutes of this.
- 4:48Speaker 3: And there's thirty two jobs, and a lot of guys
- 4:51Speaker 3: want to be head coach, so every job is attractive.
- 4:54Speaker 1: He was asked like, why is the saint's job good?
- 4:58Speaker 1: He basically said the this ain'ts job as attractive because
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's a job.
- 5:03Speaker 2: That was his answer.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Why not we got a great cap situation? Not we
- 5:09Speaker 1: got a great roster. We got a young quarterback.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You know what he said. Our job's attractive because it's
- 5:15Speaker 2: a job.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Played the gap, and there's thirty two jobs, and a
- 5:20Speaker 3: lot of guys want to be head coached, so every
- 5:22Speaker 3: job is attractive.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I've got to sit here and watch this man.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Gag away the worst cap situation.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Ever in the end.
- 5:35Speaker 1: By the way, every year, every year, before every season,
- 5:42Speaker 1: we see everybody put out their preseason predictions, all sorts
- 5:45Speaker 1: of thing, everybody, every handles, ever crafts on the Saints
- 5:49Speaker 1: for their cap situation. Yet defiantly, here goes Mickey Loomis
- 5:52Speaker 1: today talking about the cap situation.
- 5:54Speaker 2: There's fifty million over the cap.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I'm pretty comfortable with where we're at.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I'm comfortably uncomfortable.
- 5:59Speaker 3: So it's you know, it's it's something we have to manage,
- 6:02Speaker 3: and and uh uh, but there's a lot of teams
- 6:04Speaker 3: that have to manage there kept that way, and.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Hell, where is it there seems to have to manage
- 6:14Speaker 2: a cap situation.
- 6:16Speaker 1: There's sixty million dollars over the cap every year. Meanwhile,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you watch Zach Bond go be an all pro, Trey
- 6:27Speaker 1: hendrickson all pro. Your safety place sucks. Meanwhile, you got
- 6:31Speaker 1: Marcus Williams out there, play.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Like you suck. Don't even get me started on the draft.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Don't get me start. Here's me, here's the migm star
- 6:41Speaker 2: by the draft.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Oh, I'd always think more draft ficks if we could
- 6:44Speaker 3: get him. But look, I like, I like where we're at,
- 6:47Speaker 3: and I like I like our history of drafting too.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I think we we've got a really good history of drafting.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah, you got a good history of drafting and not
- 6:55Speaker 1: hanging onto the talent because of your awful cap situation.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You bomb. Oh and there was the beginning of that.
- 7:01Speaker 2: What did he say at the beginning of that.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Oh, I'd always take more draft picks.
- 7:06Speaker 1: You'll always take more draft picks if you can get them.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Then why do you never trade back to get more picks? Oh,
- 7:13Speaker 2: they're gonna give me picks. Oh, there's gonna give me picks.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'll take more. Oh, but that have to trade back? No, No,
- 7:17Speaker 2: you know what you do? You trade up every stinking year.
- 7:21Speaker 2: He raight up every year. There's this little.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Chart out there about the value of picks, and no
- 7:28Speaker 1: GM in the NFL dating back to twenty eleven has
- 7:31Speaker 1: done more, has created less value out of his draft
- 7:36Speaker 1: picks than Mickey Loomis.
- 7:39Speaker 2: What else we got? What else did this bum say today?
- 7:42Speaker 3: Because the results aren't what we want doesn't mean that
- 7:45Speaker 3: we're doing something wrong.
- 7:52Speaker 2: He went back to it. Oh he he did more
- 7:56Speaker 2: than go back to it.
- 7:58Speaker 1: He went back to the well. I mean earlier this year,
- 8:06Speaker 1: I almost had ananeurisk, like I blew a gasket. My
- 8:11Speaker 1: face was so red. I was scared myself yelling about
- 8:14Speaker 1: Mickey Loomis and the whole Look beyond the results, Look
- 8:21Speaker 1: beyond the results, and here you are fired your coach.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You win five freaking games, go five and twelve, get
- 8:30Speaker 1: a seven game losing streak, You're sixty million.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Dollars over the cap.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You got a bum veteran quarterback that you gave one
- 8:38Speaker 1: hundred million dollars guaranteed to. Of all the jobs open,
- 8:42Speaker 1: yours is the least desirable, and you're still gonna double
- 8:46Speaker 1: down on this Look beyond the results crap.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Because the results aren't what we want doesn't mean that
- 8:54Speaker 3: we're doing something wrong.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Because the results aren't what we want doesn't mean we're
- 9:00Speaker 1: doing something wrong. Like Einstein said it definition of insanity
- 9:05Speaker 1: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results, brother,
- 9:08Speaker 1: the results have been this now for.
- 9:11Speaker 2: A half a decade. I got it.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I was with you when you had a Hall of
- 9:16Speaker 1: Fame quarterback and a Hall of Fame coach and you
- 9:19Speaker 1: were trying to go all in to win. Derek carr
- 9:22Speaker 1: Ain't a Hall of Fame quarterback and you don't even
- 9:24Speaker 1: have a coach anymore?
- 9:27Speaker 2: What are you doing? You got any more?
- 9:31Speaker 3: Was that?
- 9:31Speaker 2: It?
- 9:32Speaker 3: Now?
- 9:32Speaker 1: One more?
- 9:32Speaker 2: One more?
- 9:33Speaker 3: Obviously, this is a tough season, not what we expected.
- 9:36Speaker 3: You know, what jumps out is the amount of injuries,
- 9:39Speaker 3: and we've got to do a deep dive into that.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a number one seed in the NFC, the
- 9:56Speaker 2: Detroit Lions. They pretty healthy team.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Uh no, oh really no, they have some injuries this year,
- 10:02Speaker 1: actually twenty one of them.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Oh wow. Yeah, it feels like a lot of injury.
- 10:05Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And you said they're the number one seed in the NFC.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Number one seed in the NFC, so like they got
- 10:10Speaker 1: the bye and they'll play at home and all that stuff.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yes, actually, yes, I hear to play the commander. Interesting.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, dude, I've gotten to the point with me like,
- 10:22Speaker 1: whenever he's no longer the Saints GM, I'll probably have
- 10:25Speaker 1: an opportunity to step back and appreciate the many years
- 10:31Speaker 1: he's been here, and I'll be able to look at
- 10:33Speaker 1: the good he did.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But right now everything about him just pisses me off.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'm finished. I'm just I am done. I'm done to done, done, done.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Like I will not say another nice thing about Mickey
- 10:49Speaker 1: Loomis until he is no longer the Saint general manager.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you this.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I don't want to have to do this, but we're
- 10:56Speaker 1: getting close to the point where I'm gonna start point
- 10:59Speaker 1: out the finger at Gaale Benson. And I don't want
- 11:02Speaker 1: to do that because I think she's a very good owner.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Because when I look at ownership, there's two things that
- 11:07Speaker 1: I think an owner should do. Hire people and get
- 11:09Speaker 1: out of the way. That means you put people in
- 11:13Speaker 1: position and you let them go do their jobs. You
- 11:15Speaker 1: don't meddle, and you give them the resources they need
- 11:19Speaker 1: to succeed. And by and large, Gail Benson has done that.
- 11:22Speaker 1: She is willing to spend money and she does not meddle. However,
- 11:27Speaker 1: at some point, when the results are this bad, you
- 11:31Speaker 1: have got to intervene. And allowing Mickey Loomis to continue
- 11:36Speaker 1: driving this franchise into a nose dive crashing toward the
- 11:43Speaker 1: surface is inexplicable. He has got to excel accept culpability
- 11:55Speaker 1: for what is happening for the state this franchise is in.
- 12:00Speaker 1: And the one person who can hold him accountable is
- 12:04Speaker 1: Gail Benson. And the longer she allows this to go
- 12:09Speaker 1: on with him, now we start looking at her, But
- 12:16Speaker 1: as far as him, I'm done with him.
- 12:22Speaker 2: For evil bah.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna get a whole bunch of texts in
- 12:33Speaker 1: the show now from people who are like divorced.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Like, yeah, man, I can't stand my ex. Man, tell
- 12:37Speaker 2: you what.
- 12:41Speaker 1: She didn't make any noise when she slept and that
- 12:42Speaker 1: bothered me, and then you break up. It's like we're
- 12:45Speaker 1: good friends now. I feel like I could be Mickey's friend.
- 12:48Speaker 1: After all. This is over when he gets fired, if
- 12:53Speaker 1: he ever gets fired,
