Short‑Term Pain Long‑Term Results in Iran, Tucker & the WOKE Right plus No Cash for DHS even after 4 Terror Attacks Week In Review · The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson

0:00
Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Ted Cruz Weekend Review, Ben
0:03
Speaker 1: Ferguson with you and hear the big stories that we
0:05
Speaker 1: talked about this week that you may have missed. First up,
0:09
Speaker 1: Democrats are going all in on the idea of the
0:12
Speaker 1: attacks in Iran becoming an endless war. Will break down
0:16
Speaker 1: exactly why that's not true and it's not going to happen. Also,
0:21
Speaker 1: Tucker Carlson and the woke right well, they're isolationists, and
0:26
Speaker 1: we explain why this undermines President Trump and also America
0:30
Speaker 1: First policies and helps our enemies. And finally, what's next
0:34
Speaker 1: after the terrorist attacks that we've already had here in
0:37
Speaker 1: the US. So many Americans are so concerned right now
0:40
Speaker 1: as they should be and want to feel safe. We
0:43
Speaker 1: break it down for you. It's the weekend Review and
0:46
Speaker 1: it starts right now. The President's been pretty clear about this.
0:49
Speaker 1: This is going to be short term increase. Democrats do
0:52
Speaker 1: seem to be latching onto this. Like remember when egg
0:54
Speaker 1: prices is like a big thing in the put of world. Yep,
0:57
Speaker 1: this is the new egg pricing right. Oh my god,
1:00
Speaker 1: Stald Trump say's my lower price to the pump for you?
1:02
Speaker 1: Look at it now, look how bad it is now,
1:03
Speaker 1: it's going to be you know, ten hours a gallon
1:05
Speaker 1: in California, it's gonna be five six hours gallon everywhere else.
1:08
Speaker 1: The presents come out and says it's going to be
1:10
Speaker 1: short term. I believe him. I think also seeing how
1:13
Speaker 1: hard we're hitting a RAN right now is also showing
1:16
Speaker 1: the timeline here that they are wanting to do everything
1:19
Speaker 1: as fast as they can. Why drag this out, go
1:22
Speaker 1: all in, do it quickly, get the pain over with
1:26
Speaker 1: and let those people hopefully rise up and take over
1:28
Speaker 1: a RAN and actually move forward. Are you that worried
1:32
Speaker 1: about about the gas prices? I'm not yet. Like if
1:36
Speaker 1: it's three months from now or two months from now,
1:38
Speaker 1: I'm going to be more worried. But right now I
1:39
Speaker 1: feel like this is exactly on schedule or ahead of schedule,
1:43
Speaker 1: as the White House has described it.
1:44
Speaker 2: Yeah. So, look, there's been a short term increase in
1:47
Speaker 2: gas prices, and anytime there's a military conflict in the
1:50
Speaker 2: Middle East, gas prices go up because a lot of
1:54
Speaker 2: oil comes for the Middle East, and so military conflict
1:58
Speaker 2: has an effect on supplying demand. I think this will
2:01
Speaker 2: be short term. One of the things to remember is
2:04
Speaker 2: so six months ago, gas prices were about I don't
2:09
Speaker 2: have the exact number off the top of my head,
2:11
Speaker 2: but about two dollars and fifty cents a gallon. They've
2:14
Speaker 2: risen about a dollar. They're about three dollars and fifty
2:17
Speaker 2: cents a gallon. This is national averages, And so it
2:20
Speaker 2: is true that over the last six months gasoline prices
2:24
Speaker 2: have risen. Where were they eighteen months ago under Joe
2:28
Speaker 2: Biden there were nearly six dollars a gallon, So by
2:31
Speaker 2: any measure, they're was massively cheaper than Joe Biden. Yes,
2:36
Speaker 2: they've gone up from about two fifty to about three fifty.
2:39
Speaker 2: But I think this is a short term increase. And
2:42
Speaker 2: I got to say, if and when the Iranian regime collapses,
2:46
Speaker 2: and by the way, we've utterly degraded their military and
2:49
Speaker 2: we've taken out the itolin the senior military leadership, if
2:52
Speaker 2: and when we have a government in Iran that is
2:56
Speaker 2: not a radical theocratic Islamist government who wants to murder America,
3:01
Speaker 2: who is funding terrorists all across the world, who is
3:04
Speaker 2: actively trying to murder Americans every single day, if we
3:07
Speaker 2: have just a normal government, I don't really care who
3:10
Speaker 2: we have, just as long as it's not a crazy
3:11
Speaker 2: person killing Americans. The effect on global gas prices will
3:17
Speaker 2: be to lower them significantly. So I actually think this conflict,
3:20
Speaker 2: in the long term or even the medium term, will
3:23
Speaker 2: have a substantial downward pressure on gasoline prices. There's a
3:26
Speaker 2: short period where prices have spiked somewhat, although to be clear,
3:30
Speaker 2: they're much much lower than under Biden, but they are
3:34
Speaker 2: higher than they were six months ago under Trump. Look,
3:37
Speaker 2: I think the Democrats are attacking gas prices because they
3:40
Speaker 2: hate Trump, and they're just everything Trump does is wrong.
3:45
Speaker 2: This is an incredibly important decision that Trump has made
3:51
Speaker 2: for advancing US national security. And I will say part
3:54
Speaker 2: of the reason why, when like I was being questioned
3:56
Speaker 2: on Lindsey Graham, I like lindsay, as I said, I
4:00
Speaker 2: agree with them sometimes, I disagree with them sometimes. But
4:02
Speaker 2: what the questioning really was about is isn't the Iran
4:06
Speaker 2: War about Israel? Isn't this all about Israel? And the
4:09
Speaker 2: suggestion was Israel or as a puppet master controlling Donald Trump.
4:14
Speaker 2: That's just a blatant lie. This military conflict has very
4:19
Speaker 2: little to do with Israel. The reason President Trump decided
4:23
Speaker 2: to attack Iran is because Iran has been waging war
4:26
Speaker 2: with America for forty seven years and they've killed nearly
4:29
Speaker 2: a thousand Americans, and they're the leading state sponsor of
4:32
Speaker 2: terrorism the world. And so the people trying to say
4:37
Speaker 2: I don't want another war for Israel, I don't want
4:40
Speaker 2: my children to die for the Jews, that is that
4:46
Speaker 2: is not honest, because we're doing this because the regime
4:51
Speaker 2: in Iran is killing Americans. And to be clear, if
4:54
Speaker 2: they had the capacity, if they had nuclear weapons, they
4:58
Speaker 2: would kill many, many more Americans. If they could, they
5:02
Speaker 2: would kill you and me right now, Ben, if they could,
5:05
Speaker 2: every listener of this podcast, they would kill If they
5:08
Speaker 2: had a nuclear weapon, I believe there is a real
5:10
Speaker 2: possibility they would detonate it in the skies of Tel
5:13
Speaker 2: Aviv or New York or Los Angeles. And I'm not
5:16
Speaker 2: interested in seeing a day where hundreds of thousands of
5:20
Speaker 2: Americans are murdered by an iotola channing death to America.
5:24
Speaker 2: That's why President Trump acted. But it was not about Israel.
5:28
Speaker 2: It was about America, and I think we need to
5:30
Speaker 2: be very very clear about that.
5:33
Speaker 1: I also think one of the other things that I
5:34
Speaker 1: think is really frustrating is just seeing how many people
5:36
Speaker 1: act as if somehow Donald Trump was hoodwinked by Israel
5:40
Speaker 1: for US to get involved in this war. Yeah, and
5:42
Speaker 1: you were asked about that. I was asked about as
5:44
Speaker 1: well on TV, and I said, that is the biggest
5:47
Speaker 1: load of crap I've heard in a long time. President
5:49
Speaker 1: Trump isn't hoodwink by anybody. President Trump isn't walked around
5:52
Speaker 1: by anyone. And if you've ever been around him, you
5:55
Speaker 1: know that. I think it goes back to what you
5:57
Speaker 1: just said. The President understood the nationalists scurity risks not
6:01
Speaker 1: to Israel. All right there, This is America first, correct,
6:04
Speaker 1: it's America and the national security threat to America and
6:08
Speaker 1: clear the fact that they're trying to kill and have
6:10
Speaker 1: sent people and train people and pay people to try
6:12
Speaker 1: to kill the President of the United States of America.
6:14
Speaker 1: Also people in the last administration. John Bolton, for example,
6:17
Speaker 1: was one of those. There's several others on this list
6:20
Speaker 1: that have actually have been they've had hits out all
6:22
Speaker 1: Obrian Hook Yes, exactly. So you go with the list here.
6:27
Speaker 1: The President was clear about this that this is about America.
6:32
Speaker 1: And I think that's another example when I said there's
6:34
Speaker 1: like four or five working theories Democrats throw on jel
6:36
Speaker 1: at a wall saying does any of this fit with Americans?
6:39
Speaker 1: I also think it's very interesting and final thing to you,
6:42
Speaker 1: I don't think the American people are buying this. And
6:45
Speaker 1: part of it's because I think Democrats have just said
6:47
Speaker 1: some of those orlandis and crazy things on every issue,
6:51
Speaker 1: tried to hurt Donald Trump. Now it's becoming a little
6:53
Speaker 1: bit more of white noise, and that's that. I'm thankful
6:56
Speaker 1: for that, to be honest with you.
6:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I think that's right. And look, some of
7:00
Speaker 2: the reaction of the voters will depend on how this
7:03
Speaker 2: plays out. If this military conflict lasts many months or years,
7:09
Speaker 2: if we're sitting here a year from now and still
7:11
Speaker 2: mired to military conflict, if we've got a massive troop
7:15
Speaker 2: presence on the ground, if we have hundreds or thousands
7:17
Speaker 2: of American soldiers being killed, this war will be very unpopular.
7:24
Speaker 2: I think the chances of that happening are very very
7:26
Speaker 2: close to zero percent. Iran is not a RAQ. We're
7:32
Speaker 2: not going to see a massive troop presence on the ground.
7:36
Speaker 2: We're not going to see an extended military occupation. Actually,
7:38
Speaker 2: I want you to listen to Pete hegg Seth making
7:41
Speaker 2: this point, and we're going to wrap up on this. Listen,
7:43
Speaker 2: listen to the Secretary of War, Pete hegg Seth.
7:47
Speaker 3: You see, this is not two thousand and three. This
7:50
Speaker 3: is not endless nation building under those types of quagmires
7:55
Speaker 3: we saw under Bush or Obama. It's not even close.
8:00
Speaker 3: Our generation of soldier will not let that happen again,
8:03
Speaker 3: and nor will this president, who very clearly ran against
8:08
Speaker 3: those kinds of never ending, nebulously scoped missions. Those days
8:13
Speaker 3: are dead. Instead, we're winning decisively with brutal efficiency, total
8:19
Speaker 3: air dominance, and an unbreakable will to accomplish the President's
8:24
Speaker 3: objectives on our timeline. We stay locked on the target
8:30
Speaker 3: because here at the Department of War, that's our job.
8:33
Speaker 1: You listen to Pete there. This is one of the
8:34
Speaker 1: reasons why I actually think it was a blessing that
8:36
Speaker 1: he was named and made it through confirmation.
8:38
Speaker 2: He's a guy, he's a combat veteran who's been in
8:42
Speaker 2: harm's way.
8:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a guy that I think is genuinely
8:45
Speaker 1: in the room advocating to make sure that what happened
8:48
Speaker 1: to a lot of his colleagues when he was serving
8:51
Speaker 1: in uniform and deployed. That doesn't happen to this group
8:55
Speaker 1: of soldiers now. And it's clear that this is personal
8:58
Speaker 1: for him. I'm so thankful that he's there in this
9:01
Speaker 1: position because he lived the other side of it that
9:04
Speaker 1: he was just describing.
9:06
Speaker 2: Right. Look, avoiding endless wars does not mean embracing isolationism. Yeah,
9:12
Speaker 2: peace through strength is what Reagan called it. Donald Trump
9:16
Speaker 2: just understands it as being a strong commander in chief
9:19
Speaker 2: that when people are killing Americans, he is going to
9:22
Speaker 2: respond vigorously to take them out. And by the way,
9:25
Speaker 2: our enemies are terrified. As I've said before, at three
9:30
Speaker 2: am on January third, there was not a Latin American
9:34
Speaker 2: dictator who didn't have to change his shorts because that's
9:37
Speaker 2: when President Trump sees Nicholas Maduro, what is happening in Iran.
9:42
Speaker 2: The top leadership has been taken out. Every bad guy,
9:45
Speaker 2: every person who hates America is really really worried right
9:48
Speaker 2: now because this is a nation that defends itself. And
9:51
Speaker 2: by the way, that makes clear, if you kill Americans,
9:54
Speaker 2: there are going to be massive consequences to it. Barack
9:59
Speaker 2: Obama and Joe Iden's weakness and appeasement that if you
10:02
Speaker 2: kill Americans, oh well, we're not going to do anything
10:04
Speaker 2: about it. That invites more people to target and kill Americans.
10:08
Speaker 2: This is about avoiding war by being strong enough to
10:12
Speaker 2: take out the people that are killing Americans, and that
10:16
Speaker 2: avoids protracted military conflict. I think that's what we're seeing
10:20
Speaker 2: right now, and it makes America a whole lot safer.
10:23
Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
10:25
Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
10:28
Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two.
10:32
Speaker 2: The Democrats and the press are trying to undermine President Trump.
10:37
Speaker 2: They're trying to undermine the US military, and they're trying
10:40
Speaker 2: to bolster Iran and the iatolas. Do you know who
10:44
Speaker 2: else is doing that? Who else? Tucker Carlson and the
10:49
Speaker 2: rest of the so called woke right. There's a group
10:52
Speaker 2: of isolationists folks on the right. It is a small group,
10:56
Speaker 2: but they are loud and vocal, and Tucker Carlson has
10:59
Speaker 2: now all but declared war on President Trump's foreign policy.
11:03
Speaker 2: I want you to listen to Tucker Carlson in his
11:05
Speaker 2: latest show. I'm going to warn you what he says,
11:08
Speaker 2: here is shocking, and it is to the left of
11:11
Speaker 2: Chris Murphy. So it is more anti Donald Trump than
11:15
Speaker 2: Chris Murphy and the Democrats. Listen to Tucker Carlson.
11:19
Speaker 4: Unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife
11:21
Speaker 4: and daughter if they want. And everyone knows that, and
11:24
Speaker 4: that has been If there's one consistent lesson of history,
11:27
Speaker 4: it means unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape
11:32
Speaker 4: your wife and daughter. Everyone can feel that. That's like
11:36
Speaker 4: the most atavistic instinct there is. And so to avoid that,
11:39
Speaker 4: people will do anything. And so that's why it requires
11:43
Speaker 4: that level of force to get a population subdued to
11:47
Speaker 4: the point of unconditional surrender. That's why. And so in
11:50
Speaker 4: this case, of course, we don't have the ground force necessary.
11:54
Speaker 4: I don't think Americans would voluntarily participate in it. I
11:57
Speaker 4: just don't think we can do that. It would require
11:59
Speaker 4: weapons semesterice struction. It would require presumably nuclear weapons in
12:03
Speaker 4: order to do that. And let's stop, let's not lie
12:05
Speaker 4: to ourselves. We're moving toward that.
12:08
Speaker 1: You hear Tucker there, and I mean you want to
12:11
Speaker 1: talk about on hinge that is like some of the
12:12
Speaker 1: most anti American propaganda I've ever seen spewed by someone
12:17
Speaker 1: like Tucker Carlson. It is a new low even for him.
12:21
Speaker 1: And that and the bar keeps dropping day after day.
12:24
Speaker 2: Look the phrase, the words someone like Tucker Carlson, you
12:27
Speaker 2: don't even have to put that constraint. That is more
12:30
Speaker 2: anti American rhetoric than anything I've ever heard Bernie Sanders say,
12:33
Speaker 2: or even Chris Murphy what he said there. Listen, Tucker
12:37
Speaker 2: continues to go to new lows and new lows, and
12:39
Speaker 2: part of it is President Trump this week said that
12:42
Speaker 2: that Tucker Carlson is quote, not maga and not smart.
12:46
Speaker 2: The more Tucker Carlson attacks Donald Trump, the more fringe
12:49
Speaker 2: he gets. And so I think this was Tucker acting
12:51
Speaker 2: out when when Trump said what was obviously true, but
12:55
Speaker 2: Tucker just said, go back, rewind and listen to what
12:58
Speaker 2: he just said. He said, number one, if Iran surrenders,
13:03
Speaker 2: that American soldiers are going to rape their wives and daughters,
13:07
Speaker 2: and in fact he said it twice. What utter and
13:10
Speaker 2: complete garbage, you America hating Islamist fluffer. I gotta say
13:16
Speaker 2: that makes me mad. I think of the servicemen and
13:19
Speaker 2: men who in women. But the men in particular, who
13:22
Speaker 2: are risking their lives. And Tucker Carlson's standing there saying,
13:26
Speaker 2: if you surrender to America, American soldiers are gonna rape
13:30
Speaker 2: your women. We have never done that. That is not
13:33
Speaker 2: something America does, No, Tucker, American soldiers are not gonna
13:38
Speaker 2: rape Iranian women. You know who rapes the people they conquer?
13:41
Speaker 2: Iranians do? Islamists do? That is in fact part of
13:45
Speaker 2: what they do. Part of what they do is is
13:48
Speaker 2: is that they rape women as a means of subjugation.
13:51
Speaker 2: But Tucker's not going to tell you that because Tucker
13:53
Speaker 2: is now one of the leading proponents of sharia law
13:56
Speaker 2: in the United States. He's literally an apologist for Islam.
14:00
Speaker 2: And so now you might say, wow, that statement seems incredible,
14:04
Speaker 2: it seems extreme. Here a couple of data points. Number One,
14:07
Speaker 2: during this war, the Iranian National Television is playing Tucker
14:12
Speaker 2: Carlson's show in Iran. They view that as such valuable
14:16
Speaker 2: propaganda they want the Iranian people to hear Tucker. Number Two,
14:19
Speaker 2: the Muslim Brotherhood, by the way, Hamas is the Muslim
14:23
Speaker 2: brotherhood in Palestine, and they are terrorists are tweeting out
14:27
Speaker 2: Tucker Carlson's show. The Muslim Brotherhood has said, this is
14:30
Speaker 2: our spokesman. Man, this guy is good. I cannot recall
14:35
Speaker 2: another major political figure on left or right who has said,
14:39
Speaker 2: if you surrender to America, American soldiers will rape your women.
14:43
Speaker 2: That's what Tucker Carlson just said. That is grotesque. And
14:46
Speaker 2: by the way, any soldier who sees Tucker Carlson I
14:49
Speaker 2: ought to say, how dare you say that? American soldiers
14:52
Speaker 2: know we would not and impugning our troops is disgusting.
14:56
Speaker 2: And the second thing that Tucker said in that clip
15:00
Speaker 2: is that Donald Trump is moving towards using a nuclear
15:03
Speaker 2: weapon in Iran. No, he's not, Tucker. That is a
15:06
Speaker 2: complete nutter lie. That is false. We are not going
15:09
Speaker 2: to nuke Iran. It is only deranged. That's the sort
15:13
Speaker 2: of thing the Ayatola would say. And you've got to
15:15
Speaker 2: ask yourself. Look, some of you may think back to
15:18
Speaker 2: when Tucker was on Fox News and he was actually
15:21
Speaker 2: said a lot of things you and I love that
15:23
Speaker 2: made a lot of sense. This guy today is just
15:26
Speaker 2: a kook. And even worse than that, he is the
15:30
Speaker 2: most prominent purveyor of Islamists lies about America. And about
15:35
Speaker 2: Donald Trump. Tucker Carlson has gone full out to war
15:40
Speaker 2: with Donald Trump's national security and foreign policy. And it
15:43
Speaker 2: is he and Chris Murphy are now that they are
15:47
Speaker 2: comrades in arms. He and Chris Tucker Carlson and Chris
15:50
Speaker 2: Murphy and Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and Ilhan Omar
15:54
Speaker 2: and AOC. They all have the exact same foreign policy
15:59
Speaker 2: and it is anti American and it is pro Islamist
16:02
Speaker 2: and it's dangerous as hell.
16:03
Speaker 1: We've got some breaking news as we are recording this
16:06
Speaker 1: on Sunday. They have now named a new leader in Iran.
16:09
Speaker 1: It is the son of the former leader there. That
16:12
Speaker 1: is someone that the presidents said is unacceptable. Your reaction
16:16
Speaker 1: to that as well.
16:17
Speaker 2: Well, look, it's not surprising. The Malas are going to
16:19
Speaker 2: get together and they're going to want another Mala to
16:22
Speaker 2: be the Ayatola, and they want the country to continue
16:25
Speaker 2: to be run by Islamist clerics who embrace a death cult.
16:32
Speaker 2: And it's interesting. One of the things I'm going back
16:34
Speaker 2: to Chris Murphy and what he said a minute ago.
16:38
Speaker 2: You know, we rely on deterrence to stop the most
16:43
Speaker 2: egregious acts of harm. Deterrence works with many countries because
16:49
Speaker 2: you have rational actors. Let's take for example, North Korea.
16:54
Speaker 2: So North Korea is an exceptionally dangerous part of the world.
16:57
Speaker 2: Why does North Korea have nukes? Well, it goes back
17:00
Speaker 2: to a previous Democrat president, Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton sent
17:06
Speaker 2: a State Department of employee named Wendy Sherman to negotiate
17:11
Speaker 2: a nuclear agreement with Kim Jong il, who was the
17:16
Speaker 2: father of the current dictator Kim Jongun. And the deal
17:20
Speaker 2: they cut is that Bill Clinton agreed to send billions
17:24
Speaker 2: of dollars to North Korea and in exchange for that money,
17:27
Speaker 2: North Korea would promise not to develop nuclear weapons. Well
17:31
Speaker 2: what happened. We now know what happened. They took the
17:33
Speaker 2: billions of dollars, they used it to develop nuclear weapons,
17:36
Speaker 2: and today North Korea has nuclear weapons. So it was
17:38
Speaker 2: a spectacular failure. Fast forward to Barack Obama. Barack Obama
17:43
Speaker 2: comes into office and he decides his signature foreign policy moves.
17:47
Speaker 2: He wants to negotiate an agreement with Iran on nuclear weapons.
17:51
Speaker 2: So what does he do. He actually goes and recruits
17:53
Speaker 2: the same damn person, Wendy Sherman, to negotiate his Iran deal. Literally,
17:58
Speaker 2: there are eight billion people on play at Earth been
18:01
Speaker 2: there is one out of eight billion who has screwed
18:04
Speaker 2: this up previously, as negotiated a deal to send billions
18:07
Speaker 2: of dollars to a foreign dictator, and it's resulted in
18:10
Speaker 2: that dictator using the billions of dollars to develop nuclear weapons.
18:13
Speaker 2: That would be Wendy Sherman. That's who Obama brought in
18:15
Speaker 2: and said, hey, can you do the same for us?
18:18
Speaker 2: Now we live with the failures of the Clinton administration
18:22
Speaker 2: and Wendy Sherman with North Korea and Kim Jong un
18:26
Speaker 2: is a dictator, he's megalomaniacal, he's dangerous as hell. He
18:31
Speaker 2: is testing ICBMs, he is targeted explicitly target US citizens,
18:35
Speaker 2: including Austin, Texas. He is a city that he has
18:38
Speaker 2: said he's targeted before. However, our best protection is Kim
18:42
Speaker 2: Jong un knows if he ever used a nuclear weapon,
18:45
Speaker 2: the result would be massive, overwhelming retaliation and his regime
18:49
Speaker 2: would lose power that day. It would be the end
18:52
Speaker 2: of his life.
18:52
Speaker 4: If he did that.
18:54
Speaker 2: As dangerous as Kim Jong un is, at least there's
18:59
Speaker 2: some possible ability of rational self deterrence. Here's what makes
19:03
Speaker 2: Iran orders a magnitude more dangerous when you're dealing with
19:07
Speaker 2: religious extremism. When you're dealing with theocratic zealots who are
19:13
Speaker 2: in a death cult, who glorify death and suicide, rational
19:18
Speaker 2: deterrence doesn't work the same way. So, for example, if
19:21
Speaker 2: the Iotola detonated and nuclear weapons, say in Tel Aviv,
19:26
Speaker 2: or in New York or Los Angeles, and let me
19:28
Speaker 2: be clear, I believe if the Iotola could do so,
19:30
Speaker 2: he would have done so already. The response would be
19:33
Speaker 2: overwhelming and devastating. But the problem is when you celebrate
19:37
Speaker 2: death and suicide, that normal cost benefit analysis does not apply.
19:43
Speaker 2: And so yes, they've named a new Iotola. The Iotola
19:46
Speaker 2: is what the son of the old Iotola? Okay, great,
19:50
Speaker 2: that is not acceptable because President Trump has rightly made
19:54
Speaker 2: the decision We're not going to allow US national security
19:58
Speaker 2: to be vulnerable to religious zeal who are funding terrorism,
20:04
Speaker 2: who are funding who are the number one funders of
20:08
Speaker 2: terrorisms worldwide and have been for forty seven years. So
20:12
Speaker 2: I total number one. Skippy Junior is not going to
20:16
Speaker 2: get to take over either, because allowing Iran to wage
20:21
Speaker 2: war and murder Americans is not consistent with US national
20:24
Speaker 2: security as before.
20:26
Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
20:28
Speaker 1: on this topic, you can go back and now the
20:31
Speaker 1: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
20:34
Speaker 1: I want to get back to the big story number
20:37
Speaker 1: three of the week you may have missed Sanat. I
20:39
Speaker 1: want to go back to the overall conversation here with
20:42
Speaker 1: these tears attacks. It is depressing. I think there's a
20:45
Speaker 1: lot of Americans that are very concerned about it, and
20:48
Speaker 1: that is something that I think so many Americans they
20:51
Speaker 1: want to feel safe and secure. The Department of Homeland
20:54
Speaker 1: Security not being funded and these four chears attacks in
20:58
Speaker 1: a normal world with a normal would be front page
21:01
Speaker 1: news and they'd be running up and they'd be sticking
21:04
Speaker 1: a microphone in front of the face of the people
21:06
Speaker 1: that voted no to funding DHS. I go back to
21:10
Speaker 1: the media when they were obsessed with the price of eggs, remember,
21:13
Speaker 1: and they were trying to say that it was somehow
21:15
Speaker 1: Donald Trump's fault that the egg prices were high. They
21:18
Speaker 1: went like twenty four to seven coverage on that over eggs.
21:22
Speaker 1: But on this issue, they're completely gone from covering it
21:27
Speaker 1: and holding accountable. The Democratic leadership, Like, how are you
21:30
Speaker 1: guys holding this up? There are dead Americans and that's
21:33
Speaker 1: not sensationalizing that as a fact, there are dead Americans
21:37
Speaker 1: and terrorist attacks, and you guys have unfunded the department
21:40
Speaker 1: that is supposed to be doing this in charge of
21:42
Speaker 1: it helping with US aiding with this, and this is
21:46
Speaker 1: one of those times where there is a lot of
21:48
Speaker 1: uncertainty about what's next.
21:50
Speaker 2: Yeah, the Democrats, it is hard to overstate how little
21:54
Speaker 2: they're concerned. Look, I think they could leave DHS defunded
21:58
Speaker 2: for the rest of the year. That's really how bad
22:01
Speaker 2: it is. They're not concerned at all. They don't care
22:04
Speaker 2: about the people whose lives they're ruining. They don't care
22:06
Speaker 2: about the people who can't pay their rent or can't
22:08
Speaker 2: feed their kids, and they don't care about leaving us
22:11
Speaker 2: exposed to a massive terrorist attack. And that seems harsh.
22:16
Speaker 2: I don't like saying they don't care about it, because
22:18
Speaker 2: but give me an alternative explanation. And I think the
22:21
Speaker 2: media plays a huge part in it because they believe
22:26
Speaker 2: there is zero cost, so they're appeasing their radical base.
22:30
Speaker 2: So look the CNN tweet that I read just a
22:33
Speaker 2: minute ago describing the two ISIS inspired terrorists as just
22:37
Speaker 2: two Pennsylvania teenagers that could have had a normal day
22:41
Speaker 2: enjoying the warm weather. Like that was so ridiculous. They
22:46
Speaker 2: deleted that tweet. But I also want to play what
22:50
Speaker 2: Abby Phillips, who you know you've been on her show
22:52
Speaker 2: with her, what she said about this, because it shows
22:57
Speaker 2: just the mindset of CNN. Here. Give a listen to
23:01
Speaker 2: how she described.
23:02
Speaker 5: Two Republicans say Muslims don't belong here after an attempted
23:05
Speaker 5: terror attack against New York's mayors, or on Mumdanni and
23:09
Speaker 5: the House speaker Mike Johnson says nothing really to condemn
23:13
Speaker 5: those comments.
23:14
Speaker 1: That is shocking that she said that, and it did
23:18
Speaker 1: backfire as you described it, because she had to come
23:20
Speaker 1: out center and then apologize on this one or retracted,
23:25
Speaker 1: and this is how her retraction, by the way, the
23:28
Speaker 1: next night.
23:29
Speaker 5: Take a listen this morning, I issued a correction first
23:32
Speaker 5: thing in the morning on X for a mistake that
23:35
Speaker 5: I made in last night's show, but I also wanted
23:37
Speaker 5: to do so on air as well. I incorrectly said
23:40
Speaker 5: that the bombs that were thrown by ISIS inspired suspects
23:43
Speaker 5: in New York over the weekend were directed at Mayor Mumdanni.
23:46
Speaker 5: They were not. I failed to catch and correct that
23:49
Speaker 5: mistake in real time, and I take full responsibility for that.
23:52
Speaker 5: And while we do make mistakes, it is important to
23:55
Speaker 5: acknowledge and correct those errors when they.
23:57
Speaker 1: Happen, Senator, I appreciate when there's a care But there
24:01
Speaker 1: was a lot of people online that were actually frustrated
24:03
Speaker 1: with the correction because what Abby was doing was acting
24:07
Speaker 1: like she didn't correct somebody that said something on her
24:10
Speaker 1: show in real time, And there was a lot of
24:13
Speaker 1: people going like, you're the one that said it. Don't
24:15
Speaker 1: act like someone else said it. You're the one that
24:18
Speaker 1: has to correct your own. No information you put out
24:20
Speaker 1: there that was incorrect. It wasn't a guest on your
24:23
Speaker 1: show that you failed to correct what they said.
24:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, and Ben, I don't care about her. She's a
24:29
Speaker 2: leftist quack. What I do care about is the failure
24:35
Speaker 2: of supposedly journalistic outlets to actually do journalism. They are propagandists.
24:42
Speaker 2: The stake she made was not random. It was just
24:45
Speaker 2: not oops, got I said green, I meant red. It
24:49
Speaker 2: is consistently skewing in a way that Number one, she's
24:53
Speaker 2: not identifying that the terrorist in question were radical Islamic terrorists.
24:58
Speaker 2: Number two, she's claiming the target or what she claimed
25:01
Speaker 2: the target was Mandami. The target was not Mandami. In fact,
25:05
Speaker 2: there was a protest against Mandami and the radical Islamic
25:08
Speaker 2: terrorists tried to throw the bombs at the protesters who
25:10
Speaker 2: were opposing Mandami. And if you look at her whole story,
25:15
Speaker 2: it wasn't even on the terror attack. It was on
25:18
Speaker 2: and Republicans criticized Muslims. And oddly enough, there's not outrage
25:22
Speaker 2: that Republicans criticized Muslims. It reminds me of that. So
25:25
Speaker 2: there's a classic tweet that Norm MacDonald, the great SNL
25:28
Speaker 2: comedian said, And his tweet, he said, what terrifies me
25:35
Speaker 2: is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and
25:39
Speaker 2: kill fifty million Americans, imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims.
25:46
Speaker 2: Like that was Norm MacDonald's tweet years ago, and that
25:49
Speaker 2: was CNN, Like ISIS terrorists tried to kill a lot
25:53
Speaker 2: of Americans. Can you believe how upset people are with Muslims?
25:56
Speaker 2: Like like, cover the damn news, cover the facts. But
26:00
Speaker 2: by the way, you look at Bondami's statement after that
26:02
Speaker 2: terror attack. He didn't identify the two criminals. He didn't
26:05
Speaker 2: mention they were radical Islamic terrorists, he didn't mention they
26:07
Speaker 2: were affiliated with ISIS. Instead, he blamed the guy who
26:11
Speaker 2: was protesting against him, who was intended to be the
26:15
Speaker 2: target of the bombs. When the media is this wildly dishonest,
26:24
Speaker 2: it has real consequences. And so yes, those are two
26:27
Speaker 2: instances on this terror attack where CNN had to correct
26:30
Speaker 2: themselves because they were so absurd. But I ask you,
26:35
Speaker 2: I mean you mentioned before. I have not seen a
26:37
Speaker 2: single one of my Democrat colleagues asked by any reporter,
26:41
Speaker 2: how can you justify not funding the Department of Homeland
26:45
Speaker 2: Security when we've had four terror attacks from radical Islamic
26:48
Speaker 2: terrorists in ten days, and we have radical clerics calling
26:53
Speaker 2: for more.
26:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, it's journalism, one on one. Every
26:57
Speaker 1: journalist out there knows that's the question you should ask
27:00
Speaker 1: on the way of the airport as you're walking out
27:02
Speaker 1: of their office, as they're at the airport wedding. Like
27:04
Speaker 1: this is just basic journalism. If you have terrorist attacks
27:08
Speaker 1: and you've voted to not fund the Department of Hodseecurity,
27:12
Speaker 1: there should be and traditionally there would have been hell
27:14
Speaker 1: to pay on that one. I also go back to
27:17
Speaker 1: the part you're talking about with this whole like cleansing
27:19
Speaker 1: of Oh like, let's not act like this is Muslim extremists.
27:22
Speaker 1: I put out a list of just like the history
27:25
Speaker 1: and the past that we've dealt with with with radical Muslims.
27:28
Speaker 1: The shoe bomber Muslim, Orlando attack Muslim, the Beltway Sniper's Muslim,
27:32
Speaker 1: the fort Hood shooter Muslim, the underwear bomber Muslim, the
27:35
Speaker 1: Westminster Tech Muslim, the five Bali bombings Muslim, the murder
27:39
Speaker 1: of Lee.
27:40
Speaker 2: Ben and Ben Ben. Let me let me jump in. Look,
27:43
Speaker 2: you are right, but I want to draw a distinction
27:46
Speaker 2: because there are more than a billion Muslims across the globe,
27:50
Speaker 2: and there are hundreds of millions of Muslims who are
27:52
Speaker 2: in fact peaceful and in fact, you look at different
27:55
Speaker 2: different regions of the world. If you look at at
27:57
Speaker 2: a country like India, India it has millions and millions
28:01
Speaker 2: of Muslims and it has very little problem with radical
28:03
Speaker 2: Islamic terrorism. It's not something that plagues India even though
28:06
Speaker 2: it has a huge population. There is a distinction between
28:11
Speaker 2: being Muslim, Yes, and being an Islamist. An Islamist is
28:16
Speaker 2: a particular ideology. There's a great book called The Looming Tower.
28:20
Speaker 2: It was written by a journalist, a Texas journalist called
28:22
Speaker 2: Lawrence Wright, that traces the history of Islamism, and Islamism
28:27
Speaker 2: is a political ideology that says, we will use force,
28:31
Speaker 2: we will use violence, we will use terrorism to forcibly
28:35
Speaker 2: attack the infidels and to force them to either convert
28:39
Speaker 2: to Islam or to die an Islamist that they have
28:43
Speaker 2: killed vast numbers of Muslims. By the way, the Islamists target,
28:47
Speaker 2: they're fellow Muslims with great frequency. They target Christians, they
28:51
Speaker 2: target Jews Islamism, which is where we get radical Islamic terrorism.
28:56
Speaker 2: That's where on nine to eleven Osama bin Laden was
28:59
Speaker 2: an Islamist. That is a particular ideology, and one of
29:03
Speaker 2: the real problems is leftist refused to acknowledge it. In fact,
29:07
Speaker 2: I'll tell you during the Obama administration, I chared a
29:10
Speaker 2: hearing on the purge of radical Islamic terrorism from the
29:16
Speaker 2: Department of Homeland Security, and the Obama White House sent
29:20
Speaker 2: an email to DHS instructing it to purge and by
29:24
Speaker 2: the way, purge was the word used by the Obama
29:27
Speaker 2: White House political operative purge from the DHS records, any
29:32
Speaker 2: reference to Jahad, any reference to Muslim Brotherhood, any reference
29:37
Speaker 2: to radical Islamic terrorism, and DHS under Obama either deleted
29:43
Speaker 2: or modified over eight hundred different records. And then when
29:45
Speaker 2: you'd have another radical Islamic terror attack, they'd be like,
29:48
Speaker 2: we have no idea where this came from. That same
29:51
Speaker 2: ideology is playing out in CNN's coverage like gosh, we
29:56
Speaker 2: can't figure out what's going on here. And by the way,
29:59
Speaker 2: it played on in their open borders when they allowed
30:02
Speaker 2: people to come in who are coming from countries that
30:07
Speaker 2: are filled with terrorists, filled with Jahadis, they didn't do
30:11
Speaker 2: vetting to be clear. Look, you look at the Afghan
30:15
Speaker 2: immigrants that Joe Biden brought into this country. They did
30:17
Speaker 2: a terrible job vetting it. We saw one of those
30:20
Speaker 2: Afghan immigrants murder one National guardsmen and severely wound another
30:25
Speaker 2: in DC. If you cannot acknowledge what it is you're fighting,
30:30
Speaker 2: if you can't even say the words, and sadly CNN
30:32
Speaker 2: has a really hard time saying the words radical Islamic terrorism,
30:36
Speaker 2: then you know what, you don't hold anyone to account
30:38
Speaker 2: for doing nothing to stop it and doing nothing to
30:40
Speaker 2: keep American safe.
30:41
Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center
