- 1:04Speaker 1: weeks off. I am just really feeling myself. I'm that's
- 1:07Speaker 1: great book. I'm It's called Culpability, by someone Holsinger Richard
- 1:12Speaker 1: Holsinger probably got the name wrong. Anyway, It's all about
- 1:15Speaker 1: it's good. It's good, good, I recommend it.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Yeah, what's it about? Is it like nonfiction? It's about AI.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It's about a family who gets in this accident with
- 1:22Speaker 1: another family and it's an AI driven car, so really,
- 1:25Speaker 1: who's that fault? And it's like all about how AI
- 1:28Speaker 1: is going to be impacting our world. But it's fiction
- 1:31Speaker 1: and it's a family story and it's like, you know, traumatic,
- 1:33Speaker 1: So it's it's good.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Ooh ooh, very interesting. It's got all the ingredients.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I've been taking a lot of baths lately because I've
- 1:39Speaker 1: been sick for about three weeks with this my annual
- 1:43Speaker 1: smoking pot cold that I get when.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I come to Whistle.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I always forget that my thlungs can't take smoking pot,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and then I smoke so much bought that I have
- 1:51Speaker 1: bronchitis for three weeks, and so I'm sick every year
- 1:54Speaker 1: when I go do host the Critics' Choice Awards, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: then I come back and really fall apart at the seams.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's like cold weather, and the pot is just like
- 2:01Speaker 2: freaking havoc.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Bu the pogold Weather, the pot, all my bad habits
- 2:04Speaker 1: coming together, just giving me a grand old time. Doug
- 2:06Speaker 1: has started smoking pot too, by the way. Great, But
- 2:09Speaker 1: there's a lot of things happening. I'm about to go
- 2:11Speaker 1: on tour starting in February. My first cities are DC
- 2:14Speaker 1: and Norfolk, Virginia. So please go to Chelsea Hendler dot
- 2:17Speaker 1: com to find your tickets for any of the shows.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna be coming to a city near you. And
- 2:22Speaker 1: this show is going to be on Netflix. Yeah, so

- 2:29Speaker 1: Dear Chelsea will start airing on Netflix January twenty six,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and older episodes will still be on a YouTube.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Exactly, and we're still gonna put clips and stuff on YouTube,
- 2:39Speaker 3: but for full epps after January twenty six, check us
- 2:42Speaker 3: out on Netflix.
- 2:43Speaker 2: It's so exciting.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so that's exciting and I'm excited to go
- 2:47Speaker 1: on tour. I have so many funny stories about all
- 2:50Speaker 1: the drugs that I've been giving away, and i just
- 2:52Speaker 1: feel like I'm a healer.
- 2:53Speaker 2: You know what I mean. You're like a modern day shaman.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And our guest today is one of my favorites.
- 2:58Speaker 1: He's been he's he's a friend of the as they say,
- 3:01Speaker 1: this is a very gay saying.
- 3:03Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:03Speaker 1: He's from RuPaul's Drag Race and her podcast Sibling Rivalry
- 3:08Speaker 1: and Monet Talks.
- 3:10Speaker 2: She is currently on.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Her High Heels and Bad Knees comedy tour and then
- 3:14Speaker 1: you can catch her on this season of The Traders.
- 3:16Speaker 1: So please welcome Money Exchange. Hi Chelsea, Hi girlfriend, Hi,
- 3:23Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 3:24Speaker 2: I heard you had surgery recently. I had surgery too.
- 3:28Speaker 4: On your feet? Yeah we both have beat surgery.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Yeah we did. How is yours?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Girl? Did you do one foot or two feet? We're
- 3:36Speaker 1: talking about bunyan's. Everybody, welcome to dear Chelsea. This is
- 3:39Speaker 1: this is where we get down to business. I only
- 3:42Speaker 1: had them on one foot, but I had them, which
- 3:45Speaker 1: means I had one on the outside, which is called
- 3:47Speaker 1: a bunyanette.
- 3:48Speaker 2: That's a cute term a way to put.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It, because it's not a full blown bunyan and it
- 3:53Speaker 1: comes out of like your pinky toe.
- 3:55Speaker 2: That was my kind of like force majeure like.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I was like, oh no, no, no, I didn't mind the
- 4:01Speaker 1: inside one. It wasn't painful or anything like that, but
- 4:04Speaker 1: the outside one, I was starting to it was started
- 4:07Speaker 1: to a peede on my sexual life.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I felt like, was it that was?
- 4:10Speaker 5: That was the big one, because the one on the inside,
- 4:13Speaker 5: the one like inside, it was unsightly.
- 4:16Speaker 2: The one on yours?
- 4:17Speaker 5: Are you trying? Yeah?
- 4:18Speaker 4: On my inside?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yes, okay, yeah, because a real bad bunyon is really
- 4:22Speaker 1: hard to look at.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Let's be honest. It's kind of like a bad bunny,
- 4:25Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to look at a bad bunny either, Yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 1: a bunny rabbit or a bad bunny, bad bunny.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Well you know what.
- 4:33Speaker 5: So, but not only Bunyan's girl I had. I had
- 4:36Speaker 5: my bunion and toes two, three and four. I had
- 4:39Speaker 5: a slight hammer toe. So what he did was he
- 4:42Speaker 5: went and he cut the tendons on the top and
- 4:45Speaker 5: bottoms of my second, third and four toes. So now
- 4:47Speaker 5: I can't bend my second thing and four toes. They
- 4:49Speaker 5: kind of just live this way.
- 4:50Speaker 2: They just are dead. They're dead.
- 4:52Speaker 4: They're dead.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Do you feel them?
- 4:55Speaker 4: No? I don't feel anything down there.
- 4:56Speaker 5: I'm like, fucking mister Deeds, I don't feel anything on
- 4:58Speaker 5: those toes.
- 4:59Speaker 4: You can snab me my.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I also don't feel my foot like I rammed it
- 5:02Speaker 1: into my pinky toe into a table yesterday or the
- 5:05Speaker 1: day before, and the friction was alarming because I was like, ah,
- 5:09Speaker 1: it was a thud.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But I also didn't feel a thing.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I was like, feels like I was like, oh wow,
- 5:14Speaker 1: I'm like, who knows if that toe is broken now?
- 5:15Speaker 1: By the way, Like it's all just I'm like, I
- 5:17Speaker 1: wonder if I will ever feel my foot again.
- 5:19Speaker 2: But were you awake for your surgery? You were asleep?
- 5:21Speaker 6: Right?
- 5:22Speaker 2: You want to be yeah, but you awake?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Oh?
- 5:24Speaker 4: No, girl, I was awake from mine.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I was awakening to what kind of budget are you
- 5:28Speaker 1: fucking on that you didn't get out of Sezia money?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Are you talking about? Awake?
- 5:34Speaker 4: No, he doesn't be good.
- 5:35Speaker 5: You have to be awake because he needs you to
- 5:37Speaker 5: tense the toes so we can see that so he
- 5:39Speaker 5: can see where the tendons are, so you have to
- 5:41Speaker 5: sew so you can like flex them.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Did you feel anything?
- 5:45Speaker 4: I didn't feel them at all, but I could hear everything.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Okay, And I don't know about you if if you've
- 5:49Speaker 5: ever heard a fucking tendon being cut, but it sounds.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Like it was.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Any listeners who are still listening I want to apologize
- 5:58Speaker 1: for this starting a podcas like this. I mean, how
- 6:02Speaker 1: unfortunate for them to have to hear this. I can't
- 6:05Speaker 1: believe you had to stay awake during sergy. That doesn't
- 6:07Speaker 1: sound right. That does not sound right.
- 6:10Speaker 5: But he was hot, though, he was this hot Cuban doctor,
- 6:12Speaker 5: so like I was trying to be cute for him too,
- 6:14Speaker 5: so even in the most painful and in the in
- 6:19Speaker 5: audibly painful some moments.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But first of all, you're not being cute to him.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I mean, you're opening up with a fucking bunyan and
- 6:24Speaker 1: three hammer toes. So I mean, it's not like he's
- 6:27Speaker 1: gonna be like you know what I think is sexy.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Although doctors are good like that if that's their speciality, Yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Right, doctors get turned on by you and paining you
- 6:36Speaker 5: at your lowest point, my fucking old dentist.
- 6:39Speaker 4: I feel like he would.
- 6:40Speaker 5: I feel like he would come when he would be
- 6:41Speaker 5: knuckled deep in my fucking teeth just pulling something out
- 6:45Speaker 5: of that.
- 6:45Speaker 4: I'm like, you're you're hard.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You like this ship, Well, that's a private fantasy of
- 6:49Speaker 1: your own. That's not First of all, you said you
- 6:52Speaker 1: were going to send me mushrooms.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Let's get on to more fun topics.
- 6:55Speaker 1: You said you were going to say you called me
- 6:58Speaker 1: specifically like I want to send you mushrooms, and then
- 7:02Speaker 1: I gave you my hotel in New York, right yeah,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and then you drop them there. But I had gone,
- 7:06Speaker 1: so who knows who the fuck has those mushrooms?
- 7:09Speaker 2: So you still owe me mushrooms?
- 7:12Speaker 4: I got you, girl. Let me say I am a
- 7:14Speaker 4: mushroom factor.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I have a drug factor coming to New York. Can
- 7:17Speaker 2: you send them to my hotel again? Because I'll be
- 7:18Speaker 2: there Saturday?
- 7:19Speaker 4: Did Chelsea? I think we've had this conversation forty nine times.
- 7:23Speaker 5: I live in La.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Girl, Wait, I thought you lived back. We do have
- 7:27Speaker 2: this conversation forty five I live in LA.
- 7:30Speaker 4: It was LA four years ago. I lived in La.
- 7:32Speaker 2: So then, why the fuck are you on a zoom, asshole?
- 7:35Speaker 5: Because I'm in fucking Rochester, New York, literally the worst place.
- 7:40Speaker 4: In the world. Now, going next thing, I'm doing a
- 7:43Speaker 4: stand up this weekend.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I'm here, Chelsea.
- 7:47Speaker 5: The comedy club is lovely. Carson Comedy Club is great.
- 7:50Speaker 5: The city of Rochester needs to be under fires. Somebody
- 7:53Speaker 5: needs to strike a match and light the whole city
- 7:55Speaker 5: on fire.
- 7:56Speaker 1: By the way, money Exchange is on her comedy tour.
- 7:58Speaker 1: She's on a stand up tour. So you can get
- 8:00Speaker 1: tickets for that stand up tour on your website right,
- 8:04Speaker 1: money exchange dot com, Monette exchange.
- 8:07Speaker 2: X for exchange.
- 8:08Speaker 1: There's no x E for exchange, it's money x change
- 8:13Speaker 1: dot com. So that's where you get your tickets everybody.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And she'll be in Rochester night and by the time
- 8:17Speaker 1: this airs, that will be a long that'll be an
- 8:19Speaker 1: old story.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Speaking of my feeling shit. So I was, I was.
- 8:24Speaker 5: I just had to just got off of a gay
- 8:26Speaker 5: cruise with Audra McDonald McDonald, I, yes, I feel like.
- 8:31Speaker 2: You live on gay cruises. Isn't this like your This
- 8:34Speaker 2: is not your first gay cruise.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Is it? This is my fourth one?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Right, That's what I say.
- 8:38Speaker 4: They love me all those fucking cruises. Do you like cruise?
- 8:41Speaker 2: But Monette, do you love cruises?
- 8:44Speaker 4: See?
- 8:44Speaker 5: I only like the gay ones because the field it
- 8:47Speaker 5: is literally a twenty four hour party. It is NonStop partying, drugs, drinking.
- 8:52Speaker 5: It is the greatest time in my life. I'm just
- 8:54Speaker 5: with all these hot, fucking, delicious men and my boyfriend
- 8:58Speaker 5: and we're just actually guys.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Do you guys hook up with other people? All gay
- 9:03Speaker 1: men that I know have an open relationship.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Well, we didn't start that.
- 9:06Speaker 1: We got there, because I don't think anyone starts there,
- 9:10Speaker 1: but you get there, and yes, we do that, So
- 9:13Speaker 1: they're great.
- 9:14Speaker 5: It was and a girl. We were party with Autio McDonald.
- 9:16Speaker 5: We're like at a white part of aut McDonald like passing.
- 9:19Speaker 4: We're like, whoa girl. It's great, it's a good time.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And what was she doing performing on the ship.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Yeah she did. She just got off a gypsy and
- 9:26Speaker 5: she did three shows of one night of just her
- 9:29Speaker 5: own concert.
- 9:29Speaker 4: It was fucking divine. She's incredible.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I love that she is incredible. I like I like
- 9:34Speaker 2: her reaction to whoever that lunatic or who.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Somebody on Broadway kind of went off on her and
- 9:41Speaker 1: for no reason Whatso.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, what did she say? She was like, oh, she
- 9:48Speaker 2: something like they had.
- 9:49Speaker 1: She basically intimated they had some big beef and no
- 9:53Speaker 1: idea what she's talking about. But I'm sorry, she's so
- 9:55Speaker 1: upset with me. Ridiculous, But I think Patty Leapone might
- 9:59Speaker 1: be bit off center at beaves with you.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she seems so argumentative.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Chelsea.
- 10:04Speaker 5: I need to see you more. I feel like I
- 10:06Speaker 5: feel like you we don't ever see each other. It
- 10:08Speaker 5: really breaks my heart when I see you online hangout
- 10:10Speaker 5: with all these fucking loser drag queens like you did.
- 10:13Speaker 4: You did Delta work Delta work for.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So that's not a hangout.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I did her podcast, so that means I went to
- 10:20Speaker 1: go do a podcast because I was doing press.
- 10:21Speaker 2: You talk about hanging out in personal life.
- 10:24Speaker 1: In real life, I would be more than happy to
- 10:26Speaker 1: hang out with you anytime, especially now for the fortieth time.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I know that you live in Los Angeles.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Every time you're like, I'm coming to New York visits
- 10:35Speaker 5: for your birthday, I think I literally flew.
- 10:37Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 10:38Speaker 5: I flew to New York to come to your birthday
- 10:40Speaker 5: party because I was like, I have to go to
- 10:41Speaker 5: Chelsea's birthday.
- 10:42Speaker 1: That's so sweet because I also had one in LA.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Did you really yes?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Oh my god, that is so stupid.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I had a birthday party in LA to cover my
- 10:53Speaker 1: LA and New York crowds. I mean, and that is hilarious.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna read Abertie for that ticket.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Don't believe the your your love is but I want
- 11:03Speaker 4: you to.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Text me when you're in town. I do want to
- 11:05Speaker 1: hang out with you. I love you, I love your energy.
- 11:07Speaker 1: You've always got positive vibes. I'm sure your show is
- 11:09Speaker 1: fucking amazing. If you're listening to this and you need
- 11:11Speaker 1: to be cheered up, go see Monette exchange on tour.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And by the way, she identifies as a woman. Okay,
- 11:18Speaker 1: so don't.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Get it fucking twisted, Chelsea.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Give you be honest. Have you have you ever gotten
- 11:21Speaker 5: a bonus that you mean drag? You're like, Wow, that's
- 11:24Speaker 5: a hot one.
- 11:24Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no, I don't get boners from drag.
- 11:26Speaker 2: That's not my thing. I respect drag, I appreciate it.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I totally like love that people can do that and
- 11:32Speaker 1: express themselves in that way.
- 11:33Speaker 2: But it's not a turn on for me.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Well, but maybe not a boner, but like a jaw drop,
- 11:38Speaker 3: Moneta standing yes.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you are you are? Yeah?
- 11:43Speaker 1: Said jaw drop is a nicer way to put it,
- 11:45Speaker 1: or a better way to put it. I should say, Okay,
- 11:48Speaker 1: let's go back to this cruise, because I find cruises
- 11:52Speaker 1: and ships. As soon as you say the word ship
- 11:56Speaker 1: is where you lose me. Like if it were just
- 11:58Speaker 1: a cruise without the ship, that would be different. But
- 12:02Speaker 1: as soon as I think like ship, my mind goes
- 12:04Speaker 1: to shipping containers, large large.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Boats that like house four thousand people. As soon as.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It's mass like in mass like that, I'm like, I'm
- 12:14Speaker 1: going on a small cruise to Antarctica this in the fall.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I'm going to Antarctica.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Choosing to go to freeze your tits off in Antarctica.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I want to go, first of all, I want to
- 12:26Speaker 1: go commune with the penguins. Secondly, it's a it's a
- 12:30Speaker 1: psychedelic kind of is the theme.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So it's a bunch of people.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Well you're not invited, so I mean you're gonna have
- 12:37Speaker 1: to get your own invitation. It's a bunch of people
- 12:40Speaker 1: who do psychedelics and work in maps, which is like
- 12:42Speaker 1: all of these kind of researchers and like neurophysicists, euroscientists
- 12:47Speaker 1: who kind of like figure out all of the benefits
- 12:49Speaker 1: of shrooming or you know, like not in your like
- 12:53Speaker 1: spare time, but more like medicated sits like medicine journeys.
- 12:58Speaker 2: That's that kind of under that veil of medicine.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But how medicinal plant medicine is and how medicinal LSD
- 13:05Speaker 1: all of those things. So I'm taking one of my
- 13:07Speaker 1: friends who's really into that, and we're going and I'm hoping,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I'm assuming there's just gonna be a lot of fucking
- 13:12Speaker 1: acid on board, you know, and that's.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Gonna be a great way for me to see penguins.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I mean, you know what I said, I'm a big
- 13:18Speaker 5: acid girl. I've kind of sworn off acid recently because
- 13:21Speaker 5: my friend gave me some edibles, some gummies. A set
- 13:24Speaker 5: were mushroom gummies, this set were acid gummies. I was like, great.
- 13:27Speaker 5: One night I was home, I was I was gonna
- 13:28Speaker 5: be hold alone for the next couple of days. I
- 13:29Speaker 5: was like, I want to just do some strooms and
- 13:31Speaker 5: watch Spider Man into Into the Spider Verse, which is
- 13:33Speaker 5: a great movie to watch stroms on. And then so
- 13:35Speaker 5: I take the I take the two gummies and they're
- 13:38Speaker 5: like half hour in. I was like, wait, what why
- 13:40Speaker 5: is it? Take us off the fucking kid k in?
- 13:42Speaker 5: These are I've had these, They're great, come to find now.
- 13:44Speaker 5: I didn't fucking take the mushroom gummies. I took the acidummies.
- 13:47Speaker 5: I took two doses, two tabs basically, so I was
- 13:50Speaker 5: literally I was tripping.
- 13:52Speaker 4: My balls off in my house alone.
- 13:55Speaker 1: They were medat acid. I have the best acid. It's
- 14:00Speaker 1: a microdose, and it's a sheet of acid. I'm going
- 14:02Speaker 1: to give you some as soon as I see you
- 14:04Speaker 1: next time. And I have microdoses of LSD and it
- 14:07Speaker 1: is pure and it is great. And I've only had
- 14:10Speaker 1: two people complain and I've given it to about almost
- 14:13Speaker 1: a thousand.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Well, I mean, but Chelsea, I am I'm big stock.
- 14:17Speaker 5: It always takes me ten times more to get me
- 14:20Speaker 5: just as equally high as everyone else. I feel like
- 14:22Speaker 5: a micro dose won't fucking work on that.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Then you take a couple. Then you take a couple.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You can take up to like, I mean, you can
- 14:27Speaker 1: take as many as you want, but I'll take I mean,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I've taken more than one in a day. I sometimes
- 14:31Speaker 1: take two, sometimes takes three. But you know what I
- 14:33Speaker 1: love about LSD microdose to these specifically, is that.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It levels you up.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Like if you're hungover or you're exhausted, you wake up
- 14:41Speaker 1: and you take one and it just brings you up
- 14:43Speaker 1: to the level you need to beat a function for
- 14:45Speaker 1: your day. If you're at a party or in a
- 14:47Speaker 1: party situation and you take one, then it puts you
- 14:49Speaker 1: in more of a party mood. It's like you direct
- 14:51Speaker 1: the drug and that's what I love about that. And
- 14:54Speaker 1: it's not overwhelming. You're not hallucinating, it's not like that.
- 14:57Speaker 1: It's just kind of a an upper, big good, healthy upper.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It doesn't make you feel sweaty or sometimes when I
- 15:04Speaker 1: do shrooms, I'm kind of off of shrooms lately, although
- 15:07Speaker 1: I got a big bag when I was in Vegas
- 15:08Speaker 1: this weekend. Somebody gave me a huge friend of mine
- 15:10Speaker 1: brought a huge bag of shrooms.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I wonder where those are.
- 15:13Speaker 1: And but shrooms sometimes, like I like real mushrooms, but
- 15:17Speaker 1: when you sometimes take a capsules are a middle bit
- 15:22Speaker 1: nauseous when I'm coming up, and I.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Don't like not a fun high. It's not a giggly
- 15:26Speaker 3: fun I feel like it is it.
- 15:28Speaker 5: It is agree that Catherine agree that, But also the
- 15:30Speaker 5: real ones don't make me yawn. Do you get do
- 15:32Speaker 5: you get the mushroom yawns? I just thought yawning every
- 15:34Speaker 5: two fucking.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yawn when you're coming up on them. That's a thing.
- 15:38Speaker 1: It's like you yawn when you're about to get high. Yes,
- 15:40Speaker 1: that's how you know it's working. But then it should
- 15:43Speaker 1: stop once you're high? Are you continue yawning the entire time?
- 15:47Speaker 4: Sleep?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Take your mouth shut when you take them?
- 15:50Speaker 4: No, how do I fit the dicks in it? My
- 15:53Speaker 4: mouth is closed just right?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Rather, that's right.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I forgot Sorry, can't you use your butt for all
- 15:59Speaker 1: the dicks?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Just have someone else it open?
- 16:03Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 16:03Speaker 5: I opened up the cruise and I said this joke
- 16:05Speaker 5: on stage. I'm like, you know about me, Listen if
- 16:07Speaker 5: you see me at a party. It was at the
- 16:09Speaker 5: end of the set. I was like, if you see
- 16:10Speaker 5: me at one of these parties. I forgot all my
- 16:11Speaker 5: drugs at home. So if I come to you, and
- 16:14Speaker 5: if I come at you with my nose, whatever drug
- 16:16Speaker 5: it is, just put it fucking put it up there.
- 16:18Speaker 4: I'll sniff whatever it is. Right.
- 16:20Speaker 5: You should not say that to three thousand name men.
- 16:24Speaker 2: And I know that, And you're the gay one.
- 16:27Speaker 5: I was everywhere I've heard people just pushing things at me,
- 16:30Speaker 5: and I was. I was saying no for the most
- 16:32Speaker 5: part until until unless I looked at someone. I'm like,
- 16:34Speaker 5: you know what, you look trustworthy shore or I'll go
- 16:36Speaker 5: with you. And this guy I was he asked me,
- 16:38Speaker 5: do you want a little bump or a big of mine.
- 16:40Speaker 5: I said, you know, I don't know, you just give
- 16:42Speaker 5: me a medium sized bump. He gave me the biggest
- 16:46Speaker 5: bum of Kennemede I have ever taken in my life.
- 16:48Speaker 5: And I thought it was a little bumped, so like
- 16:51Speaker 5: ten minutes and I'm like, oh, oh, this is a
- 16:52Speaker 5: big bump. So I literally I run to the bathroom
- 16:55Speaker 5: and I locked myself in a stall and sit there
- 16:57Speaker 5: for thirty minutes to let it like wayed myself.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Break down ketamine for me. I did once take ketamine.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I think I snorted it. It was years ago with
- 17:05Speaker 1: two gay guys, of course, and I was like, oh,
- 17:07Speaker 1: I want to see you because everyone that was when
- 17:09Speaker 1: Kenemine kind of hit the scene and everyone, all gay
- 17:11Speaker 1: guys were taking it and they're like it's great, it's relaxing,
- 17:14Speaker 1: da da da, And I'm like relaxing for anal sex
- 17:17Speaker 1: or relaxing like I mean, what's the delineation here? And
- 17:20Speaker 1: they're like, no, you're gonna like it, and I honestly
- 17:22Speaker 1: just did. I did a line of it, and I
- 17:23Speaker 1: was like, I don't really feel that much, So really,
- 17:26Speaker 1: what maybe I didn't do? Maybe it wasn't good Kenemine
- 17:29Speaker 1: or who knows, maybe I didn't do it enough, but
- 17:31Speaker 1: what tell me about Kenemine?
- 17:32Speaker 2: Like what is so great about it?
- 17:34Speaker 5: So it's like dissociated. So if you're I finally that.
- 17:38Speaker 2: That's what I don't like dissociation.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Oh I do like that though, because like especially when
- 17:42Speaker 5: you when you're at a club with like good music,
- 17:44Speaker 5: it kind of lets you like like lets you detach
- 17:47Speaker 5: whatever the music is going on, and like you detach
- 17:50Speaker 5: one of them, whatever the lyrics are, and you're just
- 17:52Speaker 5: getting hit with the vibes of the music. So like
- 17:54Speaker 5: the music feels better, dancing feels a little better.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I don't know it.
- 17:59Speaker 5: It lets you detach a little bit, which I enjoy
- 18:02Speaker 5: at a club with music, Wow.
- 18:03Speaker 4: I want to do I wouldn't.
- 18:04Speaker 5: I would. I would not want to be in a
- 18:06Speaker 5: k hole at a club. No, but like a little
- 18:08Speaker 5: bump at a at a party, yes.
- 18:10Speaker 2: And the k holes when you do more than a
- 18:12Speaker 2: little bump.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Yeah, that's that's a big bump. And you are like
- 18:15Speaker 5: your fucking doctor strange into the spider verss. So you
- 18:18Speaker 5: are you are detached, girl, You are.
- 18:21Speaker 1: What you described like disassociating and letting the beat carry
- 18:24Speaker 1: your vibe is something that I could use when I'm
- 18:26Speaker 1: dancing because I don't have any rhythm. So Akedemy sounds
- 18:30Speaker 1: like I should disassociate for my body because my body's
- 18:33Speaker 1: stopping me from vibing. The only thing in the world
- 18:37Speaker 1: I'm self conscious about. Not the only thing in the world,
- 18:39Speaker 1: but it's my one major thing that I'm self conscious
- 18:42Speaker 1: about is my dancing. So I always have to take
- 18:44Speaker 1: a drug if I'm going to go dancing. So I
- 18:46Speaker 1: could just loose it up and not give a shit
- 18:48Speaker 1: that I don't have great moves.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Ketamy would be great for you.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Okay, well, let's get to know for the next dance
- 18:53Speaker 1: party I get forced to go to.
- 18:54Speaker 4: But I don't always love snorting things.
- 18:56Speaker 2: So have you ever snorted adderall?
- 18:57Speaker 4: I've only have a snorted academy. I've never storted anything else.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Okay, I want snort an adderall. And that was really alarming.
- 19:05Speaker 5: I make I couldn't.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to go to a charity event.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I had flown in to San Francisco from I don't
- 19:13Speaker 1: know where, somewhere internationally. This was like fifteen years ago,
- 19:16Speaker 1: and I had a friend who was like, I was like,
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm dead. I have to go speak at this event
- 19:20Speaker 1: about this charity I was representing, which I actually will,
- 19:23Speaker 1: of course, will remain nameless, otherwise people will connect the dots.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I was like, I'm dead. I can't I can't keep
- 19:28Speaker 1: my eyes open. And he's like, do you have any
- 19:29Speaker 1: adderoll And I said yeah. He goes snort it, like
- 19:31Speaker 1: that's the best way to like fucking get I got
- 19:34Speaker 1: on stage and was talking for two hours. I couldn't
- 19:38Speaker 1: shut the fuck up. I was so obnoxious. I was
- 19:41Speaker 1: so annoying. And then when I got and I had
- 19:43Speaker 1: the worst headache the next day for like four hours.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I woke up and I just felt like a whore
- 19:48Speaker 1: on the loose, and I was like, I will never
- 19:51Speaker 1: ever shove that shit up my nose again. I don't
- 19:54Speaker 1: think i've ever done adderall. Oh that's not true. I've
- 19:56Speaker 1: had an adderall since then, but I haven't snorted it.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I would never do that again.
- 20:00Speaker 1: No, I don't love shoving shit up my nose the
- 20:02Speaker 1: way that I used to when I was in my thirties.
- 20:04Speaker 4: I don't like it at all.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I hate it. So I hate i'vemving a cocaine or
- 20:09Speaker 5: anything like that because I just don't like how it feels.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I do ketamine. But what I do is I do
- 20:12Speaker 5: this thing where they have these like wax lozenges and
- 20:15Speaker 5: you take it and each one is about sixty milligrams
- 20:18Speaker 5: and you put it just in your in your thing
- 20:19Speaker 5: like editable, and it just like dissolves over like five
- 20:21Speaker 5: minutes and then you get the same effects as.
- 20:23Speaker 2: If you snorted, like in your cheek sort of thing.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Yeah, in your cheek. Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I like all the different systems of delivery drugs have.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Now you know thing, have you have you ever boothed?
- 20:32Speaker 2: What's a boot?
- 20:33Speaker 7: No?
- 20:33Speaker 2: What's a booth? That sounds like a fart? And then
- 20:35Speaker 2: like something to do with your.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Very very adjacent, very close to you put it in
- 20:39Speaker 5: your ba hole. Oh and it's like instant.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah. I heard stories about you know, I
- 20:45Speaker 2: heard stories.
- 20:46Speaker 1: About like you know, rock stars in the seventies when
- 20:48Speaker 1: they couldn't when they would because people would do so
- 20:50Speaker 1: much blow that their noses would collapse the bridge of
- 20:53Speaker 1: their nose or the stuff that's inside the cartilage, they
- 20:56Speaker 1: would like burn a hole through it.
- 20:57Speaker 2: So then they started.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Putting coke up their assholes to get hot, because that's
- 21:00Speaker 1: then it goes directly into your bloodstream, But why not
- 21:03Speaker 1: just do a gummy and wipe it around in your mouth.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Doesn't that have the same effect? Or maybe not, it doesn't.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I think there are so many beautiful and delicious blood
- 21:11Speaker 5: vessels in your asshole. I think that when you get
- 21:13Speaker 5: the drugs right there, it just really just and takes
- 21:17Speaker 5: it right in.
- 21:18Speaker 2: How are you enjoying being on tour? Are you with
- 21:20Speaker 2: your lover?
- 21:20Speaker 5: Is?
- 21:21Speaker 2: Are they there? Or are you by yourself?
- 21:23Speaker 5: Not by myself? It's just me and my assistant.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Hi.
- 21:26Speaker 4: He doesn't really come on the road with me.
- 21:27Speaker 5: You know. That was the really big part of our relationship,
- 21:30Speaker 5: like growing to discover like how because I am super independent.
- 21:34Speaker 5: I like before my boyfriend, I had one boyfriend before him,
- 21:36Speaker 5: but we were just to get the fight five minutes.
- 21:37Speaker 4: It wasn't a real relationship.
- 21:38Speaker 2: This is my first, like real really, how long have
- 21:40Speaker 2: you guys been together?
- 21:42Speaker 4: Four years?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Okay, so that's serious.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Yeah. So and then so he is very codependent. I'm
- 21:49Speaker 5: super independent. So finding that balance of like, bitch, yes,
- 21:54Speaker 5: I want you to feel valued and me being around,
- 21:56Speaker 5: but you have to value my time and my solidarity.
- 21:58Speaker 5: So he comes things here and there like he came
- 22:01Speaker 5: with me on the cruise which was ten days, and
- 22:03Speaker 5: so we did did that together. So now I'm going
- 22:06Speaker 5: to do this stuff on myself and maybe a few
- 22:09Speaker 5: dates in October.
- 22:10Speaker 4: And remember came.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I think also being on the road by yourself is
- 22:13Speaker 1: just a better way. Like people always say they get
- 22:15Speaker 1: lonely on the road, I'm like, no, no, I don't
- 22:16Speaker 1: get lonely on the road. I need that time alone
- 22:19Speaker 1: where I don't have anything to do all day until
- 22:21Speaker 1: the show.
- 22:22Speaker 5: I like that.
- 22:23Speaker 2: That is my time to fucking lie on my ass
- 22:25Speaker 2: and watch TV. Or if I'm in a city that's worth.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Seeing and going out, you know, like when I went
- 22:30Speaker 1: to Europe, I was out and about every day I was.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I never turned to the television on, you know. But
- 22:35Speaker 1: like if you're in a city that's not happening, then
- 22:38Speaker 1: you know you don't want to expose someone else to that.
- 22:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and I want to sit down. I want to
- 22:43Speaker 5: I want to fucking read my book, order some order
- 22:45Speaker 5: some fucks.
- 22:46Speaker 2: In the gym. I love going in the gym at
- 22:48Speaker 2: a hotel. That's my favorite activity.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I love That's when I get my best workouts in,
- 22:52Speaker 1: when my trainer is nowhere to be seen and I'm
- 22:54Speaker 1: on my own. So how have the crowds been? Are
- 22:59Speaker 1: there any cities that you've been to that you were
- 23:01Speaker 1: really surprised about?
- 23:02Speaker 5: Ooh, I was really surprised about Sacramento because I mean,
- 23:05Speaker 5: I've done drag shows and Sacramento, but you know, me
- 23:08Speaker 5: doing stand up. I'm wanted to be the Santa for
- 23:10Speaker 5: what since twenty twenty one? So for four years now,
- 23:14Speaker 5: So that's.
- 23:14Speaker 1: When I started construction on my house twenty twenty one.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I've heard about this house. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, how
- 23:20Speaker 4: are you moving in?
- 23:21Speaker 2: Great question? Great question. I don't know.
- 23:24Speaker 1: And it's handler handlers. Unreal, It is unreal. I can't
- 23:31Speaker 1: believe this is my life. I make millions of dollars
- 23:35Speaker 1: a year, yet I am staying in the guest room
- 23:38Speaker 1: of a fucking friend's house for four years.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Which is a great friend. Let me tell you something.
- 23:44Speaker 8: This is it.
- 23:45Speaker 2: By the way, it's not the same friend.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I have to keep fucking moving because otherwise I'm going
- 23:49Speaker 1: to ruin all my friendships.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I was like, I would tolerate someone saying with
- 23:53Speaker 5: me for maybe a month until I'm like, okay, babes,
- 23:56Speaker 5: we got to figure it out.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly a month is mine. Actually, I'm moving out now.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I just got another rental to move out so that
- 24:01Speaker 1: I don't overstay my welcome with a friend that I'm
- 24:03Speaker 1: staying with because she's been so hospitable and I really
- 24:06Speaker 1: just don't want to, like, you know, it's we're having
- 24:08Speaker 1: a really nice time together, so I want to.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Leave while it's hot, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 24:12Speaker 2: I don't want her to be like, when.
- 24:13Speaker 1: The fuck is this woman gonna get out of my face?
- 24:15Speaker 2: Because I don't just come with me.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I come with my housekeeper and then my dog person,
- 24:19Speaker 1: and then my dog and then it's a whole factory
- 24:21Speaker 1: of people that come over every morning to make sure
- 24:23Speaker 1: I'm awake and go into.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Me over to that.
- 24:26Speaker 1: No, but they have to perform for me because they
- 24:28Speaker 1: think because I have no house, so they have to
- 24:31Speaker 1: do something in order.
- 24:32Speaker 2: They're like, well, you're paying me.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm never going to like suspend their payment because I
- 24:36Speaker 1: don't have the house, you know what I mean.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So I pay them.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I've been paying everyone for four years to work at
- 24:40Speaker 1: my house, but I don't have a house.
- 24:42Speaker 2: So they just follow me wherever I go.
- 24:44Speaker 1: While I'm in the country at least it's a hot
- 24:46Speaker 1: mess anyway, you know what I mean? I need to
- 24:48Speaker 1: call a podcast like this and get some fucking advice.
- 24:52Speaker 4: What I renovate in my house?
- 24:54Speaker 5: I mean I so I bought the house and I
- 24:56Speaker 5: was like, you know what, so people renovating houses, I'm
- 24:59Speaker 5: I'm I'm greg gonna do it. Two months into renovating,
- 25:02Speaker 5: I was like this, I way over and wait in
- 25:04Speaker 5: way in over my head. I can't do this. I
- 25:06Speaker 5: found a friend of mine. He used to be the
- 25:08Speaker 5: senior vice president of merchandising for MAC for like twenty
- 25:11Speaker 5: five years. He had just retired and moved to LA.
- 25:13Speaker 5: He's like, what you're doing? I was like, I just
- 25:14Speaker 5: bought this house. Renovating is ridiculous. I don't know what
- 25:17Speaker 5: fucking plugs outlets or a Venetian plaster. I don't know
- 25:20Speaker 5: any of these fucking terms. And then he came on
- 25:23Speaker 5: and he project managed able thing for me. And he
- 25:24Speaker 5: is like a rude, nasty, angry gay that just gathered
- 25:29Speaker 5: those fucking of those fucking contractors and he got it
- 25:32Speaker 5: done for me in two and a half years.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I hope you chef some ketamine straight up his ass.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Alos a big thank you. I really hope you did,
- 25:38Speaker 1: because he deserves He sounds like he deserves it. The
- 25:40Speaker 1: more people bring I bring onto this project, the longer
- 25:43Speaker 1: it takes.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Are you building the taj Mahal?
- 25:46Speaker 2: You would think? So, I mean, no, it's cursed because
- 25:48Speaker 2: it was RFK Junior's house. Yeah it's cursed.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Oh no, fuck girl, that's what girl? Ye had they
- 25:54Speaker 5: put that? You gonna you're gonna be talking like Yang,
- 25:57Speaker 5: You're gonna have a crazy voice.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I ran into that fuck an asshole RFK at some point.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I have so much to say to him, not that
- 26:04Speaker 1: he would sit there and listen to it, because I
- 26:05Speaker 1: don't think he can even comprehend information.
- 26:07Speaker 2: He's so stupid, I mean, and shovel milk in his hand.
- 26:11Speaker 2: He needs a ketemine up his house. We need to.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Start boothing people. That's what I want to do. That'll
- 26:18Speaker 1: be a good way for me to channel my anger.
- 26:22Speaker 5: But oh sorry, So Sacramento. I love Sacramento. Sacramento is
- 26:25Speaker 5: a really good time. I performed eight years ago and
- 26:27Speaker 5: drag but never doing stand up, and they would just
- 26:29Speaker 5: and what I realized to every audience, every comedy club,
- 26:33Speaker 5: theor whatever I go to that was like your audience
- 26:36Speaker 5: tips really well. I'm like, yeah, the gays and girls
- 26:39Speaker 5: and days we tip like we appreciate service workers. We
- 26:43Speaker 5: appreciate when you make us good cocktails, and we showed
- 26:45Speaker 5: that with my money. I'm like, these fucking straight people
- 26:47Speaker 5: that come to your show, to your club, I can't
- 26:49Speaker 5: speak with them, but the gays, girls and days, we
- 26:51Speaker 5: spend money on goods, on good service.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Well.
- 26:54Speaker 1: But also most of us are either like with child
- 26:56Speaker 1: free or you know, single, so I have the same audio.
- 27:00Speaker 2: It's women and gays, right, And that's right because.
- 27:02Speaker 1: People once they start having children and I'm like, well
- 27:05Speaker 1: I have I need this money for that, and they
- 27:06Speaker 1: become more penurious with their money, and I feel like
- 27:09Speaker 1: that's another reason not to have children.
- 27:11Speaker 2: So you could be a better tipper.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Yeah, hell yeah, Chelsea.
- 27:15Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 27:16Speaker 4: I mean I need advice really quick.
- 27:18Speaker 5: So the work for four years in he wants children.
- 27:22Speaker 5: I don't want children. I don't not want children, but
- 27:26Speaker 5: I think I do. I do not want children, which
- 27:29Speaker 5: means I should have them, you know what I mean.
- 27:31Speaker 5: I'm too much on the fence right to like want
- 27:34Speaker 5: to have kids, Like I feel people who want kids
- 27:36Speaker 5: should be like I want children more than I want
- 27:38Speaker 5: my next breath. I want to go to the PTA,
- 27:42Speaker 5: I want to drive the car with the kid, like
- 27:44Speaker 5: I am not that.
- 27:45Speaker 2: No, no, and you never will be. I will never
- 27:48Speaker 2: be that way, right, You're never going to be like that.
- 27:50Speaker 1: So I think that's very good. What you're saying is
- 27:51Speaker 1: like you don't desire it. I feel like, if you're
- 27:54Speaker 1: going to be a child, you have to desire it
- 27:55Speaker 1: so badly.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Is it a deal breaker for your partner and to
- 27:58Speaker 2: have kids?
- 27:59Speaker 5: I mean we you know what we did, We didn't
- 28:01Speaker 5: talk about deal breakers. Like at the beginning, we're kind
- 28:03Speaker 5: of like, yeah, we'll get there, and now we're four
- 28:05Speaker 5: years in and it's like I really want children. I'm like, well,
- 28:07Speaker 5: I don't know if I want.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Children, you know, yeah, I would try and push that
- 28:10Speaker 1: as long as you can too, you know.
- 28:13Speaker 2: But conversely, on the other side of the coin.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I do believe that if you do have a child
- 28:18Speaker 1: that is brought into your life because your partner feels
- 28:21Speaker 1: so vehemently for it, is so vehemently like passionate about
- 28:24Speaker 1: having a baby.
- 28:25Speaker 2: You are going to fucking love that baby.
- 28:28Speaker 1: It's not like you're going to find and you're going
- 28:29Speaker 1: to have a kid and be like, I don't like it.
- 28:31Speaker 1: That doesn't happen, you know, yes it does. Well, it
- 28:35Speaker 1: doesn't happen when somebody. It doesn't happen to people like us,
- 28:39Speaker 1: Like I have children in my life, and I fucking
- 28:41Speaker 1: deal with it.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I don't hit them. I'm not mad at them. I mean, yeah, I'm.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Exhausted and I'd rather not have to deal with like
- 28:47Speaker 1: stupid shit. But I'm always going to be available to
- 28:49Speaker 1: a child, and you're going to be the same way.
- 28:51Speaker 1: It's just like the kind of people and culture, like
- 28:54Speaker 1: part of culture that we are, Like I don't want one,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and I hear what you're saying, but you're not going
- 28:59Speaker 1: to ever.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I don't know that you're going to regret.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Having a child, you know, if it's something that's so important,
- 29:04Speaker 1: like you've got a lot of love to give and
- 29:06Speaker 1: so you know, like if I met a guy and
- 29:09Speaker 1: he had some kids, I wouldn't not date him. I
- 29:11Speaker 1: would but and I would be like, oh, this is
- 29:14Speaker 1: a nice opportunity for me to kind of be a
- 29:16Speaker 1: maternal figure or like a big sister kind of vibe.
- 29:20Speaker 1: But it's not like I would be like, oh, I
- 29:22Speaker 1: want to you know, if somebody said to me, I
- 29:24Speaker 1: have to have children, it's like, well, obviously that ship
- 29:25Speaker 1: has sailed.
- 29:26Speaker 4: And I think that's the best way to do it.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Meeting someone that has a kid sounds fucking great because
- 29:31Speaker 5: worst case scenario, I can press the ejug button and
- 29:33Speaker 5: be out, you know what I mean. But if I
- 29:35Speaker 5: want to stay and be and mother this this child, great,
- 29:39Speaker 5: but it's not of my own loin, so I could, like,
- 29:41Speaker 5: you know, right, and.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Most kids are really you know, most kids are lovable,
- 29:46Speaker 1: you know, like it's hard to find a kid that
- 29:48Speaker 1: doesn't deserve love.
- 29:50Speaker 4: I mean, you never met my nephew.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well I have a couple of nephews too.
- 29:54Speaker 5: So that's the thing about, like, I am down to
- 29:58Speaker 5: have it. If we do have a kid, great, What
- 30:02Speaker 5: if that motherfucker has the audacity to be straight? What
- 30:06Speaker 5: if I had a straight young man in my house?
- 30:09Speaker 5: Some motherfucker walk around my house crashing his balls, fucking
- 30:12Speaker 5: his armpits and shit stink, Like, I now have to
- 30:15Speaker 5: raise a straight person And that sounds awful.
- 30:18Speaker 2: You're raising an ally, then, yeah, situation, and that's fair.
- 30:22Speaker 2: That's crazy, you're raising an ally.
- 30:25Speaker 1: He turns and then he turns against his father's when
- 30:27Speaker 1: he grows up and he's like, I can't handle these
- 30:29Speaker 1: two holmos. He's like, it's enough already with my house.
- 30:33Speaker 2: It's too gay.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna take a break and'll be right back
- 30:36Speaker 1: with monay Exchange.
- 30:41Speaker 2: And we're back with money Exchange.
- 30:43Speaker 1: She's on tour, so you can buy tickets to her
- 30:44Speaker 1: show at money exchange dot com.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Are you ready to give some advice today money?
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, she's always ready to give advice.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Excellent. Well, I do have a money question.
- 30:58Speaker 3: This one's just an email, but Hillary says this is
- 31:02Speaker 3: Hillary Clinton. Yes, it absolutely is, Dear Chelsea, I have
- 31:06Speaker 3: a question about how money changes relationships. I'm a thirty
- 31:09Speaker 3: five year old woman who works as a child therapist
- 31:11Speaker 3: at a nonprofit, so I don't make much money for
- 31:14Speaker 3: what I do. I grew up as an only child
- 31:16Speaker 3: to a single mother in a lower middle class family,
- 31:19Speaker 3: and I'm very used to living paycheck to paycheck. I
- 31:22Speaker 3: lost my mother as a teenager, and the only family
- 31:24Speaker 3: I had left was my grandparents, who became my best
- 31:26Speaker 3: friends and the only emotional support system. Two years ago, however,
- 31:30Speaker 3: they both passed pretty quickly one after the other. It
- 31:33Speaker 3: was a devastating blow and wrecked me pretty badly emotionally.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Now I just have my wife and young daughter as
- 31:39Speaker 3: my only remaining family. This is where things took an
- 31:41Speaker 3: unexpected turn. Upon their deaths, I received multiple requests from
- 31:46Speaker 3: people I considered close friends asking for money. They needed
- 31:49Speaker 3: help with mortgage, medical bills, and other expenses. At first,
- 31:52Speaker 3: I was happy to help, all while trying to establish
- 31:55Speaker 3: a boundary that these were simply loans. To sum it up,
- 31:57Speaker 3: I gave out about eighteen thousand dollars before I realized
- 32:00Speaker 3: what was happening. I stopped giving out money, and needless
- 32:03Speaker 3: to say, I haven't seen a scent of it back.
- 32:05Speaker 3: It's not about that, however, I feel embarrassed taken advantage of.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I'm shocked at how a few of them turned on
- 32:10Speaker 3: me like that. Even more recently, my hoa community just
- 32:14Speaker 3: outright asked me to personally foot a thirty five thousand
- 32:17Speaker 3: dollars bill for something in our neighborhood because they knew
- 32:20Speaker 3: I could with the inheritance from her grandparents. I don't
- 32:23Speaker 3: know how they knew. I don't speak to most of
- 32:24Speaker 3: my neighbors. I considered it for a long time before
- 32:27Speaker 3: asking them to come up with another solution. How do
- 32:30Speaker 3: I trust the intentions of people going forward. I've never
- 32:33Speaker 3: had a lot of money before, and I certainly want
- 32:35Speaker 3: to share it, but I'm realizing now that certain people
- 32:37Speaker 3: will use me for it and not actually value me
- 32:40Speaker 3: as a friend.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Thanks so much, Hillary. Wait, I'm sorry I missed this part.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Did the inheritance? Was the inheritance? How did everyone know
- 32:47Speaker 2: about the inheritance?
- 32:49Speaker 4: Wasn't the public news?
- 32:50Speaker 8: Like?
- 32:50Speaker 4: How serious?
- 32:51Speaker 2: I don't know the neighbors knew.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I don't think you even think she knows how the
- 32:54Speaker 3: neighbors knew, but her friends as a family.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but still, like, that's not an invitation to ask
- 33:00Speaker 1: for money. Can I just say when I open up
- 33:02Speaker 1: my dms, how many fucking dms I get asking me
- 33:06Speaker 1: for money? How many dms I get saying I'm going
- 33:09Speaker 1: through a really tough time. I just got fired from
- 33:11Speaker 1: my job. We just need I just need thirty thousand
- 33:14Speaker 1: dollars to tide me over.
- 33:15Speaker 2: It's unreal.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Venmo request my vemo right now is literally like hey girl,
- 33:19Speaker 5: hey girl, I need people find your Venmo and they
- 33:22Speaker 5: request you all day long from it.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I just can't imagine asking a stranger for money. I
- 33:28Speaker 1: at all, I would love to like. I mean, I
- 33:31Speaker 1: you know I want money too. My money's all out
- 33:33Speaker 1: the window with this fucking house. I don't have any
- 33:35Speaker 1: more money to give. First of all, you're gonna lose
- 33:38Speaker 1: all your money. Don't ever advertise that you have money.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Don't advertise that. Just hold onto your money and save
- 33:44Speaker 1: it because you're gonna need it for fucking something and
- 33:46Speaker 1: use it for yourself.
- 33:47Speaker 2: It's your inheritance.
- 33:49Speaker 1: And definitely, you know how you can tell if people
- 33:51Speaker 1: are using you for money, if they're asking you.
- 33:53Speaker 2: For it, ask you for money, that you don't give
- 33:56Speaker 2: your money away.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That's not there's They're not entitled to that money. That
- 33:59Speaker 1: those are your grandparents period.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Yea, even if they're friends of family, even in their family.
- 34:04Speaker 5: That that money is not yours. The inheritance went to you. However,
- 34:07Speaker 5: your your grandparent decided to div out that money and
- 34:10Speaker 5: give it to w ever, that's who it belongs to.
- 34:12Speaker 5: It does not belonged to your mom, or your cousin
- 34:14Speaker 5: or sister keisha, whoever it is. No one is in
- 34:17Speaker 5: town to that money except for you. And again, if
- 34:19Speaker 5: you found it in your heart you were so generous.
- 34:21Speaker 5: You've already given eighteen thousand dollars to your friends of family.
- 34:24Speaker 5: That's it. You have to set a boundary. You're like, hey, guys,
- 34:27Speaker 5: the bank is closed. I am not willing to give
- 34:29Speaker 5: any more of this money. And again, if there's someone
- 34:32Speaker 5: that she has a really soft space in your family,
- 34:34Speaker 5: like a nephew that you really love, you really want
- 34:36Speaker 5: to help them out with whatever, then that's a different story.
- 34:39Speaker 5: But to have this open door policy and family can
- 34:41Speaker 5: just come and hit your for money is dead. It's
- 34:44Speaker 5: done no more. And why is your community asking you
- 34:47Speaker 5: to pay for the work.
- 34:50Speaker 2: That's so ridiculous.
- 34:52Speaker 1: And also like, there are going to be things that
- 34:54Speaker 1: happen in your life where you are going to be
- 34:56Speaker 1: able to help somebody out of a really bad situation,
- 34:59Speaker 1: and that person should be somebody who's close to you
- 35:01Speaker 1: and a friend or a lover or whatever, or a
- 35:03Speaker 1: relative that you can help your child that you know,
- 35:07Speaker 1: God forbid, something happens and you need like all this money,
- 35:09Speaker 1: that's what you save that money for. You want to
- 35:11Speaker 1: be nice and share the money. That's a very nice sentiment,
- 35:14Speaker 1: But donate to charities that you care about. Then donate
- 35:16Speaker 1: to homelessness, Donate to food shelters, Donate to children's charities,
- 35:20Speaker 1: donate you know to like the LGBTQ community for children
- 35:24Speaker 1: who have been kicked out of their homes. There's a
- 35:26Speaker 1: million places to give your money to that you can
- 35:28Speaker 1: actually track its use and track how it's being spent
- 35:31Speaker 1: rather than just giving it to individuals.
- 35:34Speaker 2: This story is as old as time.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Like it doesn't work out well when you hand out
- 35:39Speaker 1: money to people.
- 35:40Speaker 3: One thing my parents taught me really early on through
- 35:42Speaker 3: like mistakes that they had made, was they're like, never
- 35:46Speaker 3: loan money to friends like these larger amounts of money
- 35:48Speaker 3: because a they probably won't be in a position to
- 35:50Speaker 3: pay it back, and then they feel awkward. But even
- 35:53Speaker 3: if you say yes and say it's a gift, then
- 35:55Speaker 3: they still often feel awkward and you lose the friendship.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And then they become resentful of you in a because
- 36:00Speaker 1: it's like you help them and they're embarrassed, and so
- 36:03Speaker 1: then you lose that friendship. Anyway, that's happened to me
- 36:06Speaker 1: fifty times where I've given friends here's twenty grand.
- 36:09Speaker 2: You know, here you're in a bind.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I actually saw somebody that I loaned twenty thousand dollars
- 36:15Speaker 1: to the other day.
- 36:16Speaker 2: He's never paid me back and he doesn't have to.
- 36:18Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 36:19Speaker 1: But I saw him. He's never brought it up. This
- 36:22Speaker 1: was years ago. He's never even brought it up. He's fine,
- 36:26Speaker 1: and no one knows about it. It was like our secret.
- 36:28Speaker 1: He was so embarrassed when he came to me. He's like,
- 36:30Speaker 1: I can't believe I have to ask you for this,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and I was like, okay, yeah, I guess who else
- 36:34Speaker 1: can you ask?
- 36:35Speaker 2: I guess I'm the only person to give it to you.
- 36:37Speaker 1: And he's never even even once said hey, I, oh,
- 36:40Speaker 1: I don't even care about the money, just say I
- 36:42Speaker 1: appreciate you doing that for me, based on the fact
- 36:45Speaker 1: that we're not even yes something.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Like, it's just kind of crazy.
- 36:50Speaker 2: You create a dynamic that is not good.
- 36:52Speaker 5: I think, like it never happened is wild. So so
- 36:55Speaker 5: you guys go to like events, you've seen him out
- 36:57Speaker 5: of place and it's just like.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Hey, girls, saw the Househouse House.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I've seen him in a long time. And then I
- 37:02Speaker 1: saw him the other day and he was just like, hey,
- 37:04Speaker 1: how are you? And I'm like I'm great, how are you?
- 37:07Speaker 2: And like I remember telling my friend I was like,
- 37:09Speaker 2: you know, I once gave it. She goes, you did,
- 37:10Speaker 2: I go, yeah, I was in a bind.
- 37:12Speaker 1: He's really close with someone I'm really close with, and
- 37:14Speaker 1: it was kind of weird for him to come to
- 37:16Speaker 1: me in the first place, quite frankly.
- 37:18Speaker 2: But you know, I have a big heart. I always
- 37:19Speaker 2: want to be generous when I have excess. I always do.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I really do. But and I did.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But I just like, I'm like, it's interesting that that
- 37:27Speaker 1: person feels no obligation to address it ever again, like
- 37:32Speaker 1: just treak it in. Okay, I guess we'll just forget
- 37:34Speaker 1: that happened.
- 37:35Speaker 2: So one Noah's the answer for these friends.
- 37:37Speaker 3: One way to kind of like get out of them
- 37:39Speaker 3: blaming you is you could say, oh, you know what,
- 37:41Speaker 3: it's they left it in a trust. I don't really
- 37:43Speaker 3: have access to it like that. Like that way, it's
- 37:45Speaker 3: you're not saying no, you just can't unless.
- 37:47Speaker 4: You you see.
- 37:48Speaker 5: For me, though, I'm like, because it's really hard for
- 37:51Speaker 5: me to like keep up with a lie. Like that's
- 37:52Speaker 5: why I'm a pretty sure shoot, I'll be like, girl,
- 37:55Speaker 5: this the store is closed, Like I wouldn't tell the
- 37:57Speaker 5: lie because then it might it might come up again.
- 37:59Speaker 4: As that it's one like it's in a trust. No
- 38:01Speaker 4: it's not. And I feel like that might make it dodge.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Say is listen, I've done this before, it doesn't work out.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Well.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I wish I could share with you. I wish I
- 38:09Speaker 1: could give you this money. But I've loaned people money before,
- 38:12Speaker 1: or I've given away people money before, and it's actually
- 38:15Speaker 1: ruined our relationship. So I'm so sorry, but I'm not
- 38:17Speaker 1: doing that anymore.
- 38:18Speaker 5: Yeah, people need to and people need to understand that
- 38:21Speaker 5: boundaries a real fucking thing. I just set the boundary.
- 38:23Speaker 5: But like, no, girl, it's not happening. I'll take it
- 38:25Speaker 5: out to the dinner. We can go down to the Applebee's.
- 38:27Speaker 5: I'll get your last little chicken selex a trio deal.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I won't be at the Applebee's, but good luck with everything.
- 38:36Speaker 2: He'll take you on a cruise.
- 38:38Speaker 1: He'll take you to at Applebe's. That's actually on a
- 38:40Speaker 1: cruise ship.
- 38:42Speaker 5: This is this is a virgin voyage, Chelsea. You know,
- 38:45Speaker 5: I feel like you will like a virgin voice.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Anyway, moving along, moving on, moving on.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Well, our next question, and this is a first for
- 38:54Speaker 3: us here on this show, but I have a question
- 38:57Speaker 3: and Mona this maybe somebody that you arequainted with, so
- 39:01Speaker 3: I just want to proface with that they like cruises probably,
- 39:06Speaker 3: so this question starts. Dear Chelsea. I've been a full
- 39:09Speaker 3: time drag queen for sixteen years. Drag has been such
- 39:12Speaker 3: a blessing in my life and given me opportunities beyond
- 39:15Speaker 3: my wildest dreams. I became the first drag queen in
- 39:18Speaker 3: history to perform on all seven continents, yes even Antarctica,
- 39:23Speaker 3: performed in thirty five countries. Was Grand Marshall of NYC Pride,
- 39:26Speaker 3: ran for City Council, and was first drag queen to
- 39:29Speaker 3: moderate a panel at the un So things have been good. However,
- 39:33Speaker 3: at thirty eight years old, I keep wanting to push
- 39:35Speaker 3: myself and try new things to take it to the
- 39:37Speaker 3: next level.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Challenging myself as a performer is really important to me.
- 39:41Speaker 3: When I moved to NYC at seventeen years old, it
- 39:44Speaker 3: was to pursue a career in musical theater. I got
- 39:46Speaker 3: signed to an agent last year to continue this dream,
- 39:48Speaker 3: but haven't been able to book anything. All my auditions
- 39:51Speaker 3: get great feedback and lots of oh yeah, love them
- 39:54Speaker 3: and their work, but no follow through with getting the job.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I've done a lot of different reality TV, but I
- 39:59Speaker 3: want to do the real deal work as an actor, comedian,
- 40:01Speaker 3: and performer. What can I do to better help these
- 40:04Speaker 3: goals and skills and get myself seen as more than
- 40:06Speaker 3: a drag queen. Not that I don't love that, but
- 40:09Speaker 3: I want people to see me as a more well
- 40:10Speaker 3: rounded performer who's first attle in what I'm able to do.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Thank you, Marty Cummings.
- 40:15Speaker 5: I know Marty.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Coming, Marty. Do you guys know each other?
- 40:18Speaker 4: I do know Marty for years.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Oh my god, Marty, this is our special guest. Monette
- 40:22Speaker 1: is our special guest today. And look at these two there.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I already know each other.
- 40:26Speaker 2: We've ever had that happen before on this podcast.
- 40:30Speaker 7: I know Monette caught me back.
- 40:33Speaker 2: I will not I would be is that one of
- 40:36Speaker 2: the people.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Is that one of the Marty, Is that one of
- 40:38Speaker 1: the people you auditioned for that you didn't hear back from.
- 40:41Speaker 4: Yes, she will cast me.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Hello money, give Marty some.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Advice, Marty.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Marty is one of the most talented antaitanas in New
- 40:53Speaker 5: York City. Marty is hilarious. Marty is a great host.
- 40:56Speaker 5: Marty is a good singer. So Marty, are you leading
- 40:59Speaker 5: with so are you leading with the drag with these auditions?
- 41:02Speaker 5: Like are you going with with like headshots and like
- 41:04Speaker 5: profiles of you and drag when you do these auditions like.
- 41:08Speaker 7: Very so, like my agent primarily sends me out on
- 41:10Speaker 7: drag stuff, so they'll send you know, like my drag
- 41:13Speaker 7: head shot, my non drag head shot. Auditions normally are
- 41:17Speaker 7: self tapes like in drag whatever. And the feedback it's
- 41:22Speaker 7: always the same feedback from the casting directors. Oh my god,
- 41:25Speaker 7: we love Marty, They're amazing. We love, we love, we love,
- 41:27Speaker 7: we love, we love. And then like I'll get a
- 41:29Speaker 7: callback or whatever, and then I don't get it, and
- 41:31Speaker 7: I'm like, okay, girl, you love me, but run me
- 41:33Speaker 7: my check, Like hello, do.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You audition as you Marty straight? Not straight, but like
- 41:40Speaker 2: it's you know what I mean.
- 41:41Speaker 5: I'm primarily straight.
- 41:44Speaker 7: I'm primarily sent out on castings for like drag roles
- 41:48Speaker 7: and drag characters. There are some so like it's after
- 41:50Speaker 7: Catherine I talked I actually my agent emailed me that
- 41:53Speaker 7: this big director emailed them and was like, we really
- 41:56Speaker 7: want to see Marty for these two roles for his
- 41:59Speaker 7: next film. One is Drag one is not drag obviously,
- 42:02Speaker 7: if I book the Drag one, like, yes, I want it,
- 42:06Speaker 7: but I want to be challenged, like I want to
- 42:08Speaker 7: be challenged. I want to try something different. I want
- 42:09Speaker 7: to show that I could do more than drave right.
- 42:12Speaker 1: And also, drag is a very specific niche thing, like
- 42:16Speaker 1: it's not as widespread, like you know, it's not like
- 42:18Speaker 1: there's tons of drag movies out each year, So I
- 42:20Speaker 1: would really focus in on going in as yourself without
- 42:24Speaker 1: being in drag. Also in addition to auditioning for stuff
- 42:27Speaker 1: in drag, because you're probably going to find a lot
- 42:29Speaker 1: more opportunities there.
- 42:31Speaker 5: Yeah. Now I was gonna say, I think that that
- 42:33Speaker 5: needs to be the directed to your agency, your manager, Like, hey, guys,
- 42:36Speaker 5: let's say for six months, do not send me any
- 42:39Speaker 5: drag castings. Do do not send my drag headshots, like,
- 42:43Speaker 5: only focus on Marty Cummings. Do not put drag into it, like,
- 42:46Speaker 5: I only want to focus on Marty Cummings. Things for
- 42:48Speaker 5: me out of drag. Maybe some street rolls get really crazy,
- 42:52Speaker 5: like let's.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Not get carried away, guys. I'm sorry, ladies, I'm so sorry.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I'm lad.
- 42:57Speaker 4: I'm not that challenged okay.
- 43:01Speaker 2: But yeah you should.
- 43:02Speaker 1: You should cast a wider net. That's you're gonna catch
- 43:04Speaker 1: more fish that way. That's just the way it works. Like,
- 43:07Speaker 1: don't limit yourself to that, you know, like go where
- 43:09Speaker 1: the opportunities are too. I wouldn't say you have to
- 43:12Speaker 1: excise all of your like submissions to drag, but I
- 43:15Speaker 1: would say, like, definitely be open to playing yourself without
- 43:20Speaker 1: being a drag.
- 43:21Speaker 7: Yeah, I totally am. And I think I think money
- 43:23Speaker 7: is right. Like I have to stress to my agents like, hey,
- 43:26Speaker 7: like I love the drag stuff, but please look at
- 43:29Speaker 7: other castings for me. Also, yeah, I think that's I
- 43:32Speaker 7: think it's like easy to get like I don't want
- 43:34Speaker 7: to say pigeonhole, but it's easy to see somebody as one.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Yes, same and yeah.
- 43:39Speaker 3: And also have your agent be saying those specific things
- 43:43Speaker 3: to casting directors and like saying, you know, Marty has
- 43:45Speaker 3: these other talents and loves playing these you know, quote
- 43:47Speaker 3: unquote straight roles sort of thing, you know, comedy drama,
- 43:51Speaker 3: that sort of thing. I know Clayton Ferris, who's like
- 43:53Speaker 3: somebody I follow on TikTok. He is an actor and
- 43:56Speaker 3: like kind of in the same vein went to his
- 43:58Speaker 3: agent was like, listen, really want to do a movie
- 44:00Speaker 3: this year, and then he wound up being in weapons.
- 44:03Speaker 2: He's like the boyfriend of the principal.
- 44:05Speaker 3: And then he was like I just said it and
- 44:07Speaker 3: like stuck to my guns about it and it happened,
- 44:10Speaker 3: you know. So I think having your agent expressing that
- 44:13Speaker 3: to other people, and because people do just want to
- 44:15Speaker 3: like go with the first thing they see, which is
- 44:18Speaker 3: like dragon is more exciting than just like ye yeah person.
- 44:21Speaker 5: So and I am not like a big I'm not
- 44:23Speaker 5: a big intention person and I man, I fact, like
- 44:26Speaker 5: I'm not that girl. But I do think because casting
- 44:29Speaker 5: agents are so there, they are so stupid, like they
- 44:32Speaker 5: could they can only see the thing that you're giving them,
- 44:35Speaker 5: so like you have like drag can even be a
- 44:37Speaker 5: part of it because one thing the drag is a
- 44:39Speaker 5: thing they've already written off in their minds, like well, no,
- 44:41Speaker 5: he can't play that role because.
- 44:42Speaker 4: He the dragon over here.
- 44:43Speaker 5: So I think it's really being intentional about like only
- 44:45Speaker 5: giving them the Marty Cummings as opposed to Marty Cummings,
- 44:49Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 44:50Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I think that's like I was telling Catherine,
- 44:52Speaker 7: like so many of these casting workers, they follow me,
- 44:54Speaker 7: they come to my shows, They're like, we love, we love,
- 44:56Speaker 7: we love, we love, we love. And so I think
- 44:57Speaker 7: in their mind it's like Marty drag Marty, and I
- 45:01Speaker 7: want like yeah, So I think like if my agent's
- 45:03Speaker 7: sending tapes of me out of drag, that will start
- 45:06Speaker 7: putting in their mind.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Like, oh, Marty is.
- 45:09Speaker 7: Like layered human being.
- 45:12Speaker 5: You know. Also, maybe one thing this might be crazy,
- 45:16Speaker 5: but maybe you need to have another like acting name,
- 45:19Speaker 5: like be like Jake Sanchez. Maybe not saying that, maybe
- 45:23Speaker 5: be a problematic be be somebody else, be Tony Tony Smith.
- 45:27Speaker 5: I don't know, like have like a different pseudonym for
- 45:29Speaker 5: your acting, for out of for stuff that is not
- 45:33Speaker 5: drag at all.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Have you tried boofing any of these directors that you're
- 45:37Speaker 1: auditioning for we just covered I just learned about boofing,
- 45:41Speaker 1: and I'm very excited. Oh my god, Hello Marty, Mary.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Your day. I've seen you booth them.
- 45:51Speaker 5: What is it?
- 45:51Speaker 4: What do you do something up your butthole about them?
- 45:54Speaker 4: Something funny? That's that's going to be my name on
- 46:04Speaker 4: the resume.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Marty, Marty boof boof That's cute that I.
- 46:10Speaker 5: Just broke a sweat.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Oh my god, talking about booy.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I would definitely be sweating if somebody boothed something
- 46:17Speaker 1: up in my tushiy hole without a fore warning, but
- 46:19Speaker 1: at least hopefully, hopefully I would.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Have some sort of.
- 46:24Speaker 5: Okay where I have for sure, for sure, this is
- 46:26Speaker 5: so great that you ended up being being questions with.
- 46:29Speaker 5: This is the Marty.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I think you have your marching orders, right, Marty.
- 46:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I have a call with my agent tomorrow morning.
- 46:34Speaker 2: So i'll great perfect get on it.
- 46:36Speaker 5: Also signbar. I went to an artica.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Catherine told me you're going You're gonna love it. And
- 46:40Speaker 4: when it smells disgusting.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Okay, okay, great smells.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I'll just snort a lot of Academy before I go
- 46:46Speaker 1: there so I won't smell anything booth academy okay, booth okay, sorry,
- 46:50Speaker 1: so I'll just yeah, then my asshole, i'd see. I've
- 46:52Speaker 1: got to figure out which orifice to put on in.
- 46:54Speaker 1: It's so confusing now I'm so confused. But thank you,
- 46:57Speaker 1: thank you, Marty. I appreciate your bye bye people.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Also, sometimes booth alcohol like if you because sometimes you're
- 47:06Speaker 5: allergic to you're allergic to it going down in something
- 47:09Speaker 5: in here, so they.
- 47:11Speaker 2: It was allergic to alcohol.
- 47:12Speaker 5: I know a lot of people, a lot of people,
- 47:14Speaker 5: especially vodka. People of vodka because of thee.
- 47:16Speaker 1: And so the next move is to put it in
- 47:18Speaker 1: your butt. But if you're allergic to something, that putting
- 47:23Speaker 1: it in your body in any capacity has got to
- 47:26Speaker 1: be bad.
- 47:27Speaker 5: I know the gaze their alcohol.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Well, this doesn't sound like good advice anyway, Moving on, Catherine.
- 47:33Speaker 3: All right, Well, our next color is Megan, and Megan says,
- 47:37Speaker 3: today I'm writing to you for advice on an estranged
- 47:40Speaker 3: father dynamic. I had a very normal childhood until about
- 47:43Speaker 3: high school when my father's mental health took a huge hit.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Turns out he had been sexually abused by a nun
- 47:48Speaker 3: as a child, and about the time I hit fifth grade,
- 47:51Speaker 3: my father went off the deep end. He and my
- 47:53Speaker 3: mom were separated off and on while I was a teen,
- 47:56Speaker 3: with me confronting him over cheating with sex workers and
- 47:58Speaker 3: then him destroying my mother financially in the divorce. His
- 48:01Speaker 3: family is full of addicts, criminals, and just all around
- 48:05Speaker 3: con men. I've not had contact with my father in
- 48:07Speaker 3: the last fifteen years, despite him showing up at my
- 48:10Speaker 3: workplaces circling around my block and just generally trying to
- 48:13Speaker 3: make contact. I've never felt emotionally safe around him. Fast
- 48:17Speaker 3: forward to this year, when I've started to wonder if
- 48:19Speaker 3: I will ever have contact and how I'll feel if
- 48:21Speaker 3: he passes away. I happened to google him and found
- 48:24Speaker 3: out he recently won an eleven million dollars settlement in
- 48:27Speaker 3: a personal injury lawsuit.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Time to time to contact him.
- 48:32Speaker 3: He's been living on disability, running scams, and working under
- 48:34Speaker 3: the table to avoid paying off his debts, including tens
- 48:37Speaker 3: of thousands he owes my mom in the divorce and
- 48:40Speaker 3: eighteen years of child support he never paid for my
- 48:42Speaker 3: half sister. My anger was palpable him living in a
- 48:46Speaker 3: three million dollar mansion in Milwaukee that's a dream home
- 48:49Speaker 3: with a brand new sports car, while I'm a struggling
- 48:51Speaker 3: teacher and my mom had to put off retirement because
- 48:54Speaker 3: he cleared out her four.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Oh one k in the divorce.
- 48:56Speaker 3: While I'm sitting here stewing on this information, cosmically, he
- 48:59Speaker 3: just apparently knew what I was thinking about and sent
- 49:02Speaker 3: me an email apologizing for a quote things he had
- 49:04Speaker 3: done wrong and asking for contact again.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Do I meet with him?
- 49:08Speaker 3: Should we have contact with parents just because there are parents,
- 49:11Speaker 3: so we don't have regrets or should I maintain my
- 49:13Speaker 3: boundaries for my own mental health. This is the first
- 49:16Speaker 3: time he's ever owned any wrongdoing or offered an apology.
- 49:19Speaker 3: But I also don't want it to seem like I'm
- 49:21Speaker 3: suddenly returning because he has money. Now I have two
- 49:24Speaker 3: small children that he has never met and who I
- 49:26Speaker 3: haven't even considered introducing him to. I also feel like
- 49:29Speaker 3: I might owe it to my mom and half sister
- 49:31Speaker 3: to try and get them back the money they're owed.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I'd appreciate your thoughts on family boundaries and estrangement.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Thanks for all you do. Meghan. Hi, Megan, Hi, how
- 49:40Speaker 2: are you hi?
- 49:42Speaker 1: This is our special guest when I exchange here today
- 49:45Speaker 1: me to you.
- 49:46Speaker 2: So funny, Meghan.
- 49:47Speaker 1: We just had a conversation with somebody who had come
- 49:50Speaker 1: into a lot of buddy and was starting to loan
- 49:54Speaker 1: it out to people and wondering what their boundaries should
- 49:56Speaker 1: be about that because all of these people started, you know, approach.
- 50:00Speaker 1: But this is a different situation because your father is
- 50:03Speaker 1: trying to reach out to you, and you got an
- 50:04Speaker 1: email that you hadn't gotten before.
- 50:07Speaker 2: My impetus I'm up two schools of thought for this.
- 50:10Speaker 1: I would be motivated to reimburse your mother and your
- 50:13Speaker 1: sister for the money that he never neglected to pay them.
- 50:15Speaker 1: That would be my motivation for connecting with your father.
- 50:19Speaker 1: But he also did apologize in this email, which you
- 50:22Speaker 1: said to something he's never done before, right, never.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so.
- 50:27Speaker 1: This is the first apology he's made to you. Absolutely,
- 50:31Speaker 1: And how does that make you feel?
- 50:33Speaker 6: Yeah, there's been years of no ownership, no talking. So
- 50:37Speaker 6: angry but also anger for my mother When I mentioned
- 50:40Speaker 6: it to her. Her reaction like I could just see
- 50:42Speaker 6: the disappointment that he harmed her in so many ways
- 50:46Speaker 6: and she didn't get any ounce of an apology. And
- 50:48Speaker 6: he said that this stemmed from him. He perseverates in
- 50:51Speaker 6: this trial of the abuse that happened to him, and
- 50:54Speaker 6: he had been rereading the trial and found a letter
- 50:55Speaker 6: I wrote wrote to the court, and he had like
- 50:57Speaker 6: realized first time that I think he recognized anything outside
- 51:01Speaker 6: his own world, Like in all of this, he's the
- 51:04Speaker 6: victim in everything, and I think he just like for
- 51:06Speaker 6: the first time, was starting to deal the end. He's
- 51:09Speaker 6: a lonely old man who doesn't have his family in
- 51:11Speaker 6: his life, and I think that's really hard and money
- 51:14Speaker 6: doesn't solve your problems.
- 51:15Speaker 8: So I think that was him reaching out.
- 51:18Speaker 1: I think that you this is a great opportunity for
- 51:21Speaker 1: you to say, hey, listen, I know that you've come
- 51:22Speaker 1: into eleven million dollars that you want a lawsuit. If
- 51:25Speaker 1: you want to speak to me, the way that you
- 51:26Speaker 1: could speak to me and to move forward in our
- 51:28Speaker 1: relationship is to do right by my mom and do
- 51:31Speaker 1: right by my sister and catalog all of the money
- 51:35Speaker 1: that he didn't pay and child support and alimony, Catalog
- 51:38Speaker 1: all of that, and reiterate what your mom had to do,
- 51:40Speaker 1: how she had to not I think you said she
- 51:42Speaker 1: didn't retire on time because she had to work right.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Reiterate all of those things, and say, this is the
- 51:48Speaker 1: decent thing to do, and when, if, and when you
- 51:51Speaker 1: do this, if you decide to do the right thing,
- 51:53Speaker 1: then I would be willing to talk to you.
- 51:55Speaker 3: I'm also going to add an asterisk to that because
- 51:58Speaker 3: I have recently learned that in some states like this
- 52:01Speaker 3: is state dependent, so you'll have to figure out what's
- 52:03Speaker 3: you know with your state. But in some states, the
- 52:06Speaker 3: child support stuff never goes away, so if the authorities
- 52:09Speaker 3: are let know that he has this money, the money
- 52:12Speaker 3: should just get like taken out of his account and
- 52:14Speaker 3: literally put into your mom's account. Like it depends on
- 52:17Speaker 3: the state, like I said, but some of this money
- 52:19Speaker 3: might be able to be just transferred right over.
- 52:22Speaker 6: We found out Wisconsin law doesn't get my sister anything back.
- 52:24Speaker 6: Her stepfather is a lawyer, so they looked into it.
- 52:27Speaker 6: So there's a statue imitations on it. Hers is gone,
- 52:30Speaker 6: but my mother has consulted a lawyer and is now
- 52:32Speaker 6: going to go forward with it.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Great, Yeah, great, awesome, that's amazing.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that like, yes, he is.
- 52:40Speaker 5: He seems to be in a different place where he's
- 52:42Speaker 5: apologized making those who apologize and amend his wrongs. But
- 52:45Speaker 5: for me, a big part of that is the atonement
- 52:48Speaker 5: the reparations for the wrongs you have done. So until
- 52:50Speaker 5: he's able to do that is probably going to be
- 52:52Speaker 5: really hard for me. I'm going to get for you, Meghan,
- 52:55Speaker 5: probably virtually impossible to move on when you are not
- 52:59Speaker 5: righting the wrongs that you do, which is giving us
- 53:01Speaker 5: this money back, like you have you use camped out
- 53:04Speaker 5: on all these years of caring for me and for
- 53:06Speaker 5: caring for my mother and all this stuff. So you
- 53:07Speaker 5: he asks to atone to make you want to feel
- 53:11Speaker 5: like this relationship is repaarable, because right now it doesn't
- 53:14Speaker 5: seem like it is. And you come into eleven million
- 53:16Speaker 5: dollars in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can live off a million
- 53:19Speaker 5: dollars for the next twenty centuries. Eleven million dollars. You'll
- 53:22Speaker 5: be just fine if you give whatever he's owed to you,
- 53:25Speaker 5: your sister and your mom to move on and nd
- 53:28Speaker 5: y'all can build you know, a family dynamic hopefull again
- 53:31Speaker 5: or whatever that looks like now that you're grown and
- 53:34Speaker 5: you're not a child anymore, whatever whatever that wants like
- 53:36Speaker 5: for you, and you know, and in regards to him
- 53:38Speaker 5: being your father, yes, he's your father, but he's a
- 53:40Speaker 5: fucking human being first, so needs to fix what you
- 53:42Speaker 5: need to do to he could you guys can all
- 53:44Speaker 5: move on and you know, build something nice hopefully if
- 53:47Speaker 5: you want that.
- 53:48Speaker 2: Meg, what do you think about this? Meg?
- 53:51Speaker 8: Yeah, that makes a ton of sense.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Okay, okay, good, let us know what happens.
- 53:55Speaker 1: I will okay, cool, Well send him that email and
- 53:59Speaker 1: you know, catalog everything for him so he's not confused.
- 54:02Speaker 1: About anything, and then you know, based out and then
- 54:04Speaker 1: the ball's in his court and he can decide.
- 54:06Speaker 2: And maybe increase the amounts for inflation exactly.
- 54:09Speaker 5: Hello, Catherine, Absolutely girl.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and pain and suffering and whatever else you decide
- 54:15Speaker 1: to throw in there.
- 54:16Speaker 8: We actually looked at it.
- 54:17Speaker 6: There's a clause at their divorce that he owes interest
- 54:20Speaker 6: that was specifically written in, so it actually comes out
- 54:24Speaker 6: like with interest of seventeen years, it comes out to
- 54:26Speaker 6: be a lot more for my mom.
- 54:27Speaker 8: So hopefully she'll at the very least get that back.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Great amazing, right, Well, keep us posted, Okay, keep us posted.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Thanks Meg, Thank you.
- 54:35Speaker 8: I appreciate your time, Catherine.
- 54:37Speaker 5: I had to say, I listen to y'alls pod so often.
- 54:39Speaker 5: I just love your haircut. It'scious you.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I was pink untillery recently and then I chopped it
- 54:43Speaker 3: all off about six months ago.
- 54:45Speaker 2: So yeah, thank you. I appreciate it.
- 54:47Speaker 4: Youply.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Okay, So we'll take a break and come back and
- 54:50Speaker 1: do a last yeah quickie, Okay, Okay, we'll be right
- 54:53Speaker 1: back with the Momney Exchange and.
- 54:59Speaker 2: We're back live from Rochester, New York.
- 55:02Speaker 4: I'm black, we're back.
- 55:04Speaker 2: We're black, and we're all women in here. Yes, okay.
- 55:09Speaker 3: So our last question comes from Brandon and the subject
- 55:13Speaker 3: line is my boyfriend won't shut the fuck up about
- 55:15Speaker 3: his job. Dear Chelsea, my boyfriend and I have been
- 55:19Speaker 3: together for over two years, and I love him very much.
- 55:21Speaker 3: We have so much fun together when he gets out
- 55:23Speaker 3: of his head about work, But most of the time
- 55:25Speaker 3: he won't shut the fuck up about his job and
- 55:27Speaker 3: how good he is at it. Oh, he loves his
- 55:30Speaker 3: job and says so all the time. I'm so happy
- 55:32Speaker 3: for him and proud of his hard work and success,
- 55:34Speaker 3: but it's not the only thing I want to talk about.
- 55:37Speaker 3: It can also come off as very braggadocious sometimes, and
- 55:40Speaker 3: I can't help but roll my eyes on the inside.
- 55:42Speaker 3: We work in the same industry, so part of me
- 55:44Speaker 3: wonders if that's why I don't enjoy the conversation. I
- 55:47Speaker 3: even try to casually change the conversation sometimes, but still
- 55:51Speaker 3: work seems to be his favorite topic. He's so preoccupied
- 55:54Speaker 3: that even when we go out on dates, I can
- 55:56Speaker 3: see he's in his head. When I ask what he's
- 55:58Speaker 3: thinking about, he replies, we're work and then goes into detail.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Sometimes he can't sleep at night because he can't stop
- 56:03Speaker 3: thinking about work. He acknowledges the fact that his brain
- 56:06Speaker 3: never stops working, so that's a positive step in the
- 56:08Speaker 3: right direction. I suppose he really is very successful at
- 56:12Speaker 3: his job and constantly winning awards and acknowledgments. I'm so
- 56:15Speaker 3: proud of him and try to be supportive, but I
- 56:17Speaker 3: can't take this never ending conversation about work. Any words
- 56:21Speaker 3: of wisdom are greatly appreciated. I think you should just
- 56:23Speaker 3: read that letter to him.
- 56:26Speaker 1: I honestly think I should just read that letter to him,
- 56:28Speaker 1: because you have to be direct about it, and you
- 56:31Speaker 1: have to be like, nobody wants to hear about somebody's
- 56:33Speaker 1: job all day long.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Nobody wants to hear about it, especially when you work
- 56:36Speaker 2: in the same no, exactly.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Like, you've got to have a sense of self and
- 56:39Speaker 1: also you know the ingredients to be a successful human being.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Mean that you have to have more than one thing
- 56:44Speaker 1: going on in your life, like not just work. It
- 56:47Speaker 1: can't be one dimensional like that. You're in a relationship,
- 56:49Speaker 1: There's got to be other shit to talk about.
- 56:51Speaker 5: There's nothing I want to hear about all day long
- 56:53Speaker 5: except for moving. Nothing else, I mean nothing.
- 56:55Speaker 1: You meet both, sister, I mean now that I know
- 56:57Speaker 1: about moofing. It's all I want to talk about.
- 57:00Speaker 5: And it does so annoying to hear you just talking
- 57:02Speaker 5: about your job all the time, over and over and
- 57:03Speaker 5: over again. Like at least like make me bring up
- 57:06Speaker 5: something like, let me give you promise about your job.
- 57:08Speaker 5: I don't want to hear you bring it up all
- 57:09Speaker 5: the time. Let me be impressed by it. And again,
- 57:11Speaker 5: I know in this day and age where a lot
- 57:12Speaker 5: of my straygo friends are dating guys that can't find
- 57:15Speaker 5: the job and don't fucking work. I know if finding
- 57:17Speaker 5: a dude that does have a job is very proactive,
- 57:20Speaker 5: but you're on the outer end of the spectrum now,
- 57:22Speaker 5: he won't fucking shut up about it.
- 57:23Speaker 4: So yeah, that seems like a lot.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely so. Yeah.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Also, this to me a little bit smacks of like
- 57:30Speaker 3: maybe do some testing and seef he's got like either
- 57:32Speaker 3: ADHD or some oc that he can't stop sort of
- 57:35Speaker 3: like spiraling and like thinking about work. That's a good idea, yeah,
- 57:39Speaker 3: and maybe if not, then just a little therapy.
- 57:42Speaker 1: So if he does have any of those things, you
- 57:44Speaker 1: can boof him his adderall or you can boof him
- 57:47Speaker 1: some vibance, just shove the pills right up his asshole.
- 57:50Speaker 1: If you have been listening to this episode, everyone, when
- 57:52Speaker 1: you get off of this episode, I want to get
- 57:54Speaker 1: your dad listening to just please try putting something in
- 57:56Speaker 1: your butt. I'm kid kidding. I don't want everyone to
- 57:58Speaker 1: try that, but if you want to try it, go
- 58:00Speaker 1: for it. But I'm not a doctor and I'm also
- 58:02Speaker 1: not a therapist.
- 58:03Speaker 2: You know.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I was listening to mel Robinson's podcast the other day
- 58:06Speaker 1: and at the end of her podcast, she goes, I
- 58:08Speaker 1: am not a doctor. There's a whole spiel about her
- 58:10Speaker 1: not being a doctor or a therapist. I'm like, why
- 58:12Speaker 1: don't we do that at the end of mine, Like
- 58:13Speaker 1: you've got it in the description, Okay, right, great, Because
- 58:16Speaker 1: I was like, she's she's not even giving advice, like
- 58:19Speaker 1: I'm giving advice. She kind of just like you know,
- 58:22Speaker 1: gives advice and posts it. It's like, anyway, money, I
- 58:25Speaker 1: love you.
- 58:26Speaker 2: You're so funny.

- 58:46Speaker 2: My god, I'm glad.
- 58:47Speaker 5: I can I tell you I hate the state of Ohio.
