- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. The New York Times has the new piece
- 0:07Speaker 1: out about Corinnia Shuliac, Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend at the time
- 0:12Speaker 1: that he died, and there's certainly a lot of questions
- 0:16Speaker 1: that still hang in the air when it comes to
- 0:18Speaker 1: Crinnia Shuliac and where exactly she fits in in the
- 0:22Speaker 1: story overall. So in this episode, we're going to jump
- 0:25Speaker 1: into an article from The New York Times talking about
- 0:28Speaker 1: Corinia Shuliac and providing us a bit more context about
- 0:32Speaker 1: who she is and what her role was like I said.
- 0:36Speaker 1: This article was published by The New York Times and
- 0:39Speaker 1: the headline meet the woman who stands to inherit much
- 0:42Speaker 1: of Jeffrey Epstein's fortune. This article was authored by Matthew
- 0:47Speaker 1: Goldstein and Sharon Otterman. The young dentist was smiling and
- 0:52Speaker 1: soft spoken, wearing a Columbia University fleece jacket and holding
- 0:56Speaker 1: her long hair back with a clip. She was introduced
- 0:59Speaker 1: by her assistant simply doctor Corina. But what the patient,
- 1:04Speaker 1: who had come to the office in December expecting to
- 1:06Speaker 1: see a different dentist, didn't know was that she was
- 1:10Speaker 1: being treated by doctor Corina Shuliac, the notorious sex offender
- 1:14Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend. Yeah, probably not the person I want
- 1:18Speaker 1: rooting around in my mouth. Can I have somebody besides
- 1:23Speaker 1: his nurse Ratchet please? Doctor Shuliac was the last person
- 1:28Speaker 1: mister Epstein called before he killed himself in his jail
- 1:30Speaker 1: cell in twenty nineteen. Allegedly. I'm glad they're so sure
- 1:35Speaker 1: about everything. Huh. I mean Matthew Goldstein and Sharon Otterman.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I'm sure they trust the Trump administration in all other areas,
- 1:44Speaker 1: but all of a sudden, they're sure that Epstein killed himself. Huh. Okay,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I guess she could inherit as much as one hundred
- 1:53Speaker 1: million from his estate, including a thirty three carrot diamond ring,
- 1:57Speaker 1: according to a trove of investigative records released by federal authorities.
- 2:03Speaker 1: But on that winter day, doctor Shuliac was working as
- 2:06Speaker 1: a part time dentist in an unremarkable office in downtown Brooklyn.
- 2:10Speaker 1: According to dentist who work or used to work at
- 2:13Speaker 1: the practice, that must be wild. You find out that
- 2:18Speaker 1: you were working with one of Jeffrey Epstein's you know, girlfriends,
- 2:21Speaker 1: One of his confidants. And look, I don't know what
- 2:24Speaker 1: Critty of Shuliac was up to, if anything, as far
- 2:27Speaker 1: as Jeffrey Epstein's criminal operation goes, but I'm sure she
- 2:32Speaker 1: has some information that could be helpful. Whether that's incriminating
- 2:36Speaker 1: or not, I have no idea, but she was certainly around.
- 2:40Speaker 1: She has intimate knowledge of who that dude was, what
- 2:43Speaker 1: his mind frame was, and what was going on that
- 2:47Speaker 1: final phone call. And I think that's very important for
- 2:50Speaker 1: us to hear, and I think Congress should subpoena her.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Her attempt to forge something of a normal life, though,
- 2:59Speaker 1: was soon shattered when the Justice Department released three million
- 3:02Speaker 1: pages of investigative files and emails it had gathered on
- 3:06Speaker 1: mister Ebstein. The files, released in late January included thousands
- 3:11Speaker 1: of intimate emails between doctor Shuliac and mister Epstein and
- 3:15Speaker 1: dozens of photographs of her and them together. Not exactly
- 3:20Speaker 1: the kind of information you want to go down in
- 3:22Speaker 1: the record, right, Yeah, you know Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend, No
- 3:25Speaker 1: big deal. Suddenly their nearly eight year relationship was on
- 3:31Speaker 1: vivid display for all to see. They had fights about sex,
- 3:35Speaker 1: with both wanting more at different times. She placed orders
- 3:38Speaker 1: to a sexual wellness company for couples. She periodically sent
- 3:42Speaker 1: them links to graphic pornographic videos. In some emails, they
- 3:46Speaker 1: discussed birth control pills and acting medications and treatments. Doctor
- 3:51Speaker 1: Shuliac thirty seven emerges as a complicated and unusual figure
- 3:56Speaker 1: in mister Epstein's world, based on a close review of
- 3:59Speaker 1: the files and conversations with several people familiar with her.
- 4:04Speaker 1: A native of Belarus who met mister Epstein when she
- 4:07Speaker 1: was twenty one. She's not identified herself as a victim,
- 4:10Speaker 1: nor have federal authorities considered her a co conspirator in
- 4:14Speaker 1: mister Epstein's sex trafficking. And that's what I'm talking about.
- 4:19Speaker 1: She's occupying a pretty complicated space here, Like she hasn't
- 4:24Speaker 1: called herself a victim, and we have no information that
- 4:29Speaker 1: she was partaking in any of the abuse. So where
- 4:33Speaker 1: does she fit in? In my opinion, she fits in
- 4:36Speaker 1: as somebody that has a whole lot of knowledge. She
- 4:39Speaker 1: can fill in some gaps, she can provide maybe some
- 4:43Speaker 1: details about some situations that they don't have a complete
- 4:47Speaker 1: picture of. And if they would have done a real
- 4:51Speaker 1: investigation from the very beginning, you would think that they'd
- 4:54Speaker 1: call her in right, sit her down. What did you
- 4:56Speaker 1: guys talk about on that last phone call? What happened?
- 4:59Speaker 1: What did he tell you? What was his state of mind?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Is there anything that we might have missed? But God
- 5:04Speaker 1: forbid they do that, right, God forbid they have a
- 5:07Speaker 1: real investigation. There's no indication that the Federal Bureau of
- 5:10Speaker 1: Investigations ever interviewed her, and lawyers for hundreds of his
- 5:14Speaker 1: victims have never deposed her the last person to talk
- 5:17Speaker 1: to him, and the authorities never bothered to talk to her. Yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 1: nothing odd about that. Everything is on the up and
- 5:24Speaker 1: up here. Meanwhile, we have the Attorney General at the time,
- 5:28Speaker 1: Bill Barr, going to visit Stone Rais at his house
- 5:31Speaker 1: after he was released from jail. Okay, cool, can we
- 5:35Speaker 1: get some contemporaneous notes on that. What did they talk about?
- 5:41Speaker 1: He once called her his favorite and often told her
- 5:44Speaker 1: he loved her. She had free use of a credit
- 5:46Speaker 1: card to buy whatever she wanted. They jetted around the
- 5:49Speaker 1: world together. Any funneled payments of nearly one million to
- 5:52Speaker 1: her over the years. He also sent tens of thousands
- 5:56Speaker 1: of dollars to her parents in Belarus, the files reveal,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and there is abject poverty in Belarus. Well, they have
- 6:04Speaker 1: money for weapons of war, right, they have money to
- 6:07Speaker 1: help their boy putin. But besides that, not exactly what
- 6:10Speaker 1: you would call a rich country. And when you have
- 6:14Speaker 1: somebody sending tens of thousands of dollars back to your family,
- 6:18Speaker 1: certainly not the kind of thing you want to let
- 6:19Speaker 1: go of. Over the years, she earned enough of his
- 6:24Speaker 1: trust to help manage his properties and staff, and even
- 6:27Speaker 1: played a critical role in this effort to buy a
- 6:29Speaker 1: Moroccan plane just weeks before his twenty nineteen arrest. So
- 6:34Speaker 1: she basically stepped in and took over the role of
- 6:37Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell and Sarah Kellen Vickers. Maybe not with the
- 6:41Speaker 1: abuse and the criminal end of it, but the logistics,
- 6:45Speaker 1: taking over Epstein's household, calling the shots, you know, that
- 6:49Speaker 1: kind of thing. And again, look, I'm not saying she
- 6:52Speaker 1: was involved in the abuse. We've seen no indication of that,
- 6:55Speaker 1: but she was around and I think that that's very important.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And I think that if you or around something like this,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you probably saw stuff, even if you don't know it.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And that's why it's important for everybody to sit down
- 7:06Speaker 1: with investigators. Mister Epstein controlled the relationship, but there's little
- 7:11Speaker 1: doubt she benefited from it professionally, personally, and financially. The
- 7:16Speaker 1: emails revealed new details about how mister Epstein helped her
- 7:19Speaker 1: get into Columbia University's dental school and how he helped
- 7:23Speaker 1: her obtain US citizenship by asking one of his female
- 7:26Speaker 1: victims to marry her. Well, who told you about that?
- 7:31Speaker 1: I told you there was marriage fraud, an immigration fraud,
- 7:34Speaker 1: and a whole host of other shit nobody's talking about.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And look, Epstein didn't do all of that on his own.
- 7:39Speaker 1: There was somebody at the immigration office that was playing ball.
- 7:43Speaker 1: There was somebody that was like, Okay, we can do this,
- 7:45Speaker 1: send over the paperwork. Now. We'll probably never find out
- 7:50Speaker 1: who that is because the government doesn't want to show
- 7:52Speaker 1: their ass and we've seen that with their redactions in
- 7:55Speaker 1: the files. We have no idea who was engaging in
- 7:59Speaker 1: the investigation. So how do we know who to hold accountable?
- 8:02Speaker 1: And obviously the law says that we should know who
- 8:05Speaker 1: was engaging in these conversations, and certainly who made the
- 8:07Speaker 1: decision to not go after Epstein, to go after this one,
- 8:11Speaker 1: to go after that one, and to give this one
- 8:13Speaker 1: or that one a pass. All of that should be
- 8:15Speaker 1: known to us. In one email, he suggested that the
- 8:20Speaker 1: fastest way to a green card was through a same
- 8:23Speaker 1: sex marriage. This year, congressional Democrats accused mister Ebstein of
- 8:27Speaker 1: exploiting the immigration system and called out doctor Shuliac's marriage
- 8:31Speaker 1: to an American woman, which ended in divorce, as potentially illusory. One.
- 8:37Speaker 1: US immigration authorities have not challenged the process through which
- 8:40Speaker 1: doctor Shuliac obtained her citizenship because that would give up
- 8:43Speaker 1: the game. They'd have to admit then that what I've
- 8:46Speaker 1: been telling you is true. And look, don't get this
- 8:49Speaker 1: shit confused with the nonsense you see coming from people
- 8:52Speaker 1: like Candace Owen's and Charlie Kirk. We have evidence, mountains
- 8:58Speaker 1: of it. They have speculat and if you're looking for
- 9:02Speaker 1: a real cover up, this is it. This is the
- 9:06Speaker 1: whole game right here. And that's why they're fighting tooth
- 9:10Speaker 1: and Nell to make sure you never see the real details.
- 9:16Speaker 1: As of this spring, doctor Shuliac had been living in
- 9:19Speaker 1: the Upper east Side condo building in which mister Epstein's
- 9:22Speaker 1: brother Mark has a financial stake, and that's the building
- 9:25Speaker 1: at East sixty sixth Street, And if you remember, that's
- 9:28Speaker 1: where Epstein kept all of his models and his employees,
- 9:31Speaker 1: and through a partnership with his brother, allegedly they had
- 9:34Speaker 1: access to a grip of apartments in that building. Through
- 9:40Speaker 1: her lawyer, she declined to comment. In a brief interview,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Mark Epstein said, I only wish that woman the best. Oh,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I'm sure do you wish any of the survivors the best? Mark?
- 9:51Speaker 1: Anybody asked him about that. A friend of doctor Shuliac's
- 9:53Speaker 1: from Belarus, who once shared an apartment with her in
- 9:56Speaker 1: Brooklyn and asked not to be named to protect her privacy,
- 9:59Speaker 1: said she believe doctor Shuliac truly loved Jeffrey Epstein. Well
- 10:03Speaker 1: that's possible. I'm not going to say that. You know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: she wasn't in love with him, but I will tell
- 10:09Speaker 1: you this, he didn't love her. This man was incapable
- 10:13Speaker 1: of real love. He was a monster, Okay, a straight
- 10:17Speaker 1: up monster. And I'm not just talking about the sexual deviancy,
- 10:21Speaker 1: all of it. The shit he was engaging in, arms running, collecting,
- 10:28Speaker 1: compromut ruining people's lives, all of it is just heinous.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Everything this guy was involved in. Karna Shuliac had lived
- 10:36Speaker 1: in New York for only nine months when she met
- 10:38Speaker 1: mister Epstein in late March of two thousand and one.
- 10:41Speaker 1: She had moved from Belarus on a temporary student visa
- 10:44Speaker 1: to study English out of school in Manhattan. She was
- 10:48Speaker 1: making about fifteen dollars an hour as a dental assistant
- 10:51Speaker 1: and applying for waitressing jobs while she tried to figure
- 10:54Speaker 1: out how to continue the dental education she had begun
- 10:58Speaker 1: in Belaruths young woman from Siberia who introduced her to
- 11:02Speaker 1: mister Epstein. The file show. And that's how deep this
- 11:05Speaker 1: dude's reach went, all the way into Siberia. Make no mistake.
- 11:10Speaker 1: He had his boy, Jean Luke Burnell on the prowl,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and Jean Luke Burnell had no problem going to far
- 11:17Speaker 1: flowng places to find girls to abuse for him and
- 11:20Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein to share. And when I tell you it
- 11:22Speaker 1: was worldwide, this is what I mean. The woman said
- 11:26Speaker 1: in an interview with The New York Times that she
- 11:28Speaker 1: had periodically been expected to recruit other young women, presumably
- 11:32Speaker 1: to provide mister Ebstein with sexualized massages. And that appeared
- 11:36Speaker 1: to be mister Epstein's intention with doctor Shuliac. Yeah, he
- 11:40Speaker 1: had to have a whole roster, right, He had a
- 11:42Speaker 1: menagerie of women and girls that were quote unquote coming
- 11:46Speaker 1: to give them massages. We all know what that means.
- 11:49Speaker 1: They weren't going to give them massages, just like you're
- 11:52Speaker 1: not going to the weed dispensary to buy a six
- 11:54Speaker 1: pack of beer. The woman, who asked not to be
- 11:59Speaker 1: named because she said mister Epstein had abused her, had
- 12:02Speaker 1: sent mister Ebstein a photo of doctor Shuliac, describing her
- 12:06Speaker 1: as pretty. After some back and forth, it was decided
- 12:09Speaker 1: that the woman, doctor Shuliac, and her roommate from Belarus
- 12:12Speaker 1: would meet mister Ebstein at his Manhattan mansion. Go slow,
- 12:16Speaker 1: the woman advised mister Ebstein in an email. Their first
- 12:21Speaker 1: encounter fit the familiar pattern he used with other women.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Epstein flattered, pampered, and tried to manipulate her. The file
- 12:29Speaker 1: show almost immediately he offered to help her realize her
- 12:32Speaker 1: dream of becoming a dentist, and the trap was set
- 12:37Speaker 1: hook line sinker, But the emails show that doctor Shuliac
- 12:42Speaker 1: pushed back at least in the first few months. A
- 12:45Speaker 1: few weeks after they met, she wrote to mister Epstein
- 12:48Speaker 1: telling them she had thought he was a remarkable person,
- 12:50Speaker 1: but she added that she could not accept his help
- 12:53Speaker 1: due to some views which strongly stay in my mind,
- 12:56Speaker 1: no matter how stupid it may look. I wish you
- 12:59Speaker 1: all the best, and I apologize if I wasted your time,
- 13:02Speaker 1: she added, though she doesn't specify what upset her. Their
- 13:06Speaker 1: introduction occurred after mister Epstein had pleaded guilty in Florida
- 13:10Speaker 1: to a charge of soliciting prostitution from an underage teenager
- 13:14Speaker 1: and had been accused of abusing dozens of other teenagers.
- 13:18Speaker 1: His response was to braid her for listening to rumors
- 13:21Speaker 1: and stories. She responded, this world is very cruel sometimes
- 13:25Speaker 1: and in most cases we have to pay a certain
- 13:28Speaker 1: price for things. I should say that I have read
- 13:30Speaker 1: some information about you. Mister Epstein, who was fifty eight
- 13:34Speaker 1: at the time, did not take no for an answer.
- 13:37Speaker 1: The emails released by federal prosecutors showed that he bought
- 13:40Speaker 1: doctor Shuliac and her roommate tickets to see The Lion
- 13:43Speaker 1: King on Broadway and dinners at restaurants. He treated her
- 13:47Speaker 1: to scenic helicopter ride around Manhattan. By July twenty eleven,
- 13:51Speaker 1: she had visited his new Mexico ranch. A few months
- 13:55Speaker 1: later as private island residence in the US Virgin Islands.
- 14:00Speaker 1: All Right, folks, we're gonna wrap up episode one right here,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and in the next episode, we're gonna pick up where
- 14:04Speaker 1: we left off. All the information that goes with this
- 14:08Speaker 1: episode can be found in the description box.
