- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven to ten wor
- 0:05Speaker 1: filling in for Mark, here's Ken Rosatto. It's so nice
- 0:09Speaker 1: to be with you on a Friday, Memorial Day weekend,
- 0:12Speaker 1: a very special long weekend. Mark enjoying his weekend off,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and it is good to be sitting here. Former New
- 0:18Speaker 1: York City TV news anchor Ken Rosatto in for duty today.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I was twenty years at Channel seven. I was at
- 0:24Speaker 1: Channel five doing Good Day New York before that, so
- 0:26Speaker 1: it's good to be here now. On the radio. I
- 0:28Speaker 1: actually did radio many years before I got to TV,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and then I kind of missed it when I was
- 0:35Speaker 1: on TV and they didn't allow us to do radio
- 0:37Speaker 1: as well. At the time, I was very sad because
- 0:40Speaker 1: radio was my first love. And it's like I'm back
- 0:43Speaker 1: with my high school sweetheart, if you will, being back
- 0:46Speaker 1: on radio. But it's great to be here. I now
- 0:48Speaker 1: I do a show on a New Jersey channel, a
- 0:51Speaker 1: streaming channel called on New JERSEYNNJ dot com. I'm on
- 0:55Speaker 1: weekdays there and it's great. So it's a New Jersey
- 0:59Speaker 1: state wide channel now expanded to a bunch of other
- 1:01Speaker 1: channels around the country. So we're on to about one
- 1:03Speaker 1: hundred million people a day having a good time with that.
- 1:06Speaker 1: You could check us out every day there at ONNJ
- 1:08Speaker 1: dot com when you have finished listening to seven to
- 1:11Speaker 1: ten wor which you should never finish listening to. I
- 1:14Speaker 1: listened to around the clock. Anyway, It's great to be
- 1:16Speaker 1: here again. Mark off of the weekend. Can Rosatto win?
- 1:19Speaker 1: And for those who have not heard about this, I
- 1:22Speaker 1: just had to share. Did you know that Governor Kathy Hokeel.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Governor Kathy Hokel has decided to codify something in New
- 1:30Speaker 1: York State, something that unofficially has existed for years, But
- 1:35Speaker 1: New York is now officially and publicly and on paper
- 1:40Speaker 1: a sanctuary state. Right? And did you just have your
- 1:44Speaker 1: stomach acid just squash up in your mouth? I asked you,
- 1:47Speaker 1: O fellow taxpayer New Yorker, and I say, even though
- 1:50Speaker 1: I live in New Jersey, I'm a taxpayer New Yorker
- 1:52Speaker 1: because when I come here to work and earn money,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I pay New York City and New York State taxes
- 1:56Speaker 1: as well. Just so you know what benefit to you
- 1:59Speaker 1: and State of New York is there by officially mandating
- 2:03Speaker 1: that New York be a sanctuary state. What we've seen
- 2:07Speaker 1: so far. And this is by the way, not look.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You could say, ken, we were all migrants. We've all
- 2:11Speaker 1: immigrated at some point our families in the United States, etca.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Don't be so mean, right. My family had to wait
- 2:18Speaker 1: seventeen years to get in legally to the United States.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Hadn't about yours. But we went through the channels. They
- 2:23Speaker 1: were channels put forth and you know that after I
- 2:26Speaker 1: guess it was the late nineteen thirties, the United States
- 2:29Speaker 1: actually imposed the rule that there would only be fifty
- 2:32Speaker 1: thousand people immigrating in as legal citizens per year, and
- 2:37Speaker 1: that existed until the early nineteen sixties. Fifty thousand and
- 2:42Speaker 1: the United States had over one hundred million citizens. So
- 2:45Speaker 1: that basically immigration was shut down for forty years thirty
- 2:50Speaker 1: forty years in the United States. And the purpose of
- 2:52Speaker 1: that was not to be xenophobic. It was so that
- 2:55Speaker 1: the people who had come here in mass from the
- 2:57Speaker 1: late eighteen hundreds, including Southern Europeans Italians like many of
- 3:01Speaker 1: my relatives, so that when they came over they could assimilate,
- 3:05Speaker 1: learn the language, be educated, become part of the fabric
- 3:08Speaker 1: of the society that is the United States. The purpose
- 3:11Speaker 1: of coming here is not so that you could bring
- 3:13Speaker 1: you know, Lithuania, Italy, Spain and make this Spain Italy Lithuania.
- 3:18Speaker 1: The purpose of leaving your country and coming here is
- 3:21Speaker 1: to become knitted into the fabric that is the United States,
- 3:24Speaker 1: learning the culture of the customs, and being a proud American.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Not to come here, make a few bucks, go back
- 3:29Speaker 1: to your country. This is not a place to do that.
- 3:32Speaker 1: That is not what the purpose is. So that's why
- 3:35Speaker 1: I think so many people get so insulted and angered
- 3:38Speaker 1: to the core when you have the Biden administration doing
- 3:40Speaker 1: what it did, opening the borders wide and basically saying
- 3:43Speaker 1: if you come in, well, look the other way. Just
- 3:45Speaker 1: become part of society here. You know, if you want
- 3:47Speaker 1: to work, you want to work, off the books, whatever,
- 3:49Speaker 1: take the money, go back to your country. Disgusting, disgusting.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It violates every rule. It basically sticks up the middle
- 3:56Speaker 1: finger at all the laws we have passed. If you
- 3:57Speaker 1: don't like the laws, change the laws. But you don't,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you don't just basically ignore the laws and do so
- 4:05Speaker 1: in the process insulting every tax paying US citizen. And
- 4:09Speaker 1: look at what's happened in the process. It's just ignorant
- 4:13Speaker 1: on the part of the former Biden administration. Many countries
- 4:17Speaker 1: that are nefarious, with nefarious plans did what Cuba did
- 4:21Speaker 1: in the early nineteen sixties to the United States, and
- 4:24Speaker 1: that has opened up their prisons and said here, go up,
- 4:27Speaker 1: you want to go, We'll let you go free. We'll
- 4:28Speaker 1: even give you money. Go to the United States and
- 4:31Speaker 1: live there. Because it costs a lot of money to
- 4:33Speaker 1: house an inmate, especially some of the worst inmates, you
- 4:37Speaker 1: have to put them in special blocks, in many cases
- 4:39Speaker 1: in isolation. So you had countries like we know for
- 4:42Speaker 1: a fact now Venezuela opened its prisons and let thousands
- 4:46Speaker 1: and thousands of prisoners come to the United States. And
- 4:48Speaker 1: now we have bangangs like trend de Aragua terrorizing cities
- 4:53Speaker 1: all over the country. And we didn't have to have
- 4:55Speaker 1: that if the Biden administration had just allowed the process
- 4:59Speaker 1: to take place. And if I hear one more person say,
- 5:03Speaker 1: but our immigration system is broken, mister Risado, what's broken
- 5:07Speaker 1: about it? We have seventy laws on federal books right
- 5:11Speaker 1: now detailing how to become a citizen of the United States.
- 5:15Speaker 1: We leave, we let two to three million people migrate
- 5:20Speaker 1: legally into the United States every year. Do you know
- 5:23Speaker 1: that that is more than every other country on Earth
- 5:27Speaker 1: combined allows into their countries. Where does it say in
- 5:31Speaker 1: our constitution that our job is to open the doors
- 5:34Speaker 1: to the rest of the seven billion people on the planet.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We could not survive as a country if we continue
- 5:40Speaker 1: to do that. As the left loves to say, it's unsustainable.
- 5:45Speaker 1: That's one of the code words. It makes my stomach twins. Unsustainable,
- 5:48Speaker 1: mister Risado, it's unsustainable. You got to say it with
- 5:51Speaker 1: a lisp. It's unsustainable. Well, it's unsustainable to have open borders.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Because here, let's go down the list the show that
- 6:00Speaker 1: I do in New Jersey, we have a wonderful meteorologist,
- 6:04Speaker 1: as they have a wonderful mediorologists here, and he's a
- 6:06Speaker 1: very dear friend of mine. I'm not going to say
- 6:08Speaker 1: his name, but if you watch the show, you'll know
- 6:09Speaker 1: who he is. And he points out every day he
- 6:12Speaker 1: stays out of politics totally, but he points out that
- 6:14Speaker 1: we are constantly in a water demand for water, that
- 6:17Speaker 1: we're constantly short of water in New Jersey, and right now,
- 6:21Speaker 1: with all the heavy rain we've had for months, including
- 6:23Speaker 1: over the reservoirs, we're still below the needed amount of water. Well,
- 6:29Speaker 1: another friend of mine, who is an environmental scientist who
- 6:31Speaker 1: used to be very far to the left and has
- 6:33Speaker 1: now come to the center, pointed something out to me
- 6:35Speaker 1: the other day that I never thought of. And I
- 6:37Speaker 1: will now point that out to you, and you will
- 6:39Speaker 1: scratch your head and say, well, that makes sense. If
- 6:42Speaker 1: you look at the top six states in the country
- 6:46Speaker 1: where the left rule, and you have sanctuary state status,
- 6:51Speaker 1: all those top six states suffer from water shortages right now.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But if you look at how much water has rained,
- 6:59Speaker 1: they we had the same amount of rain now that
- 7:01Speaker 1: they had thirty years ago at this time. So what's
- 7:04Speaker 1: changed the population? Not the legal population. Ah, you see
- 7:09Speaker 1: where I'm going, the illegal population. The state of New
- 7:13Speaker 1: Jersey has nine million legal residents and about one million
- 7:17Speaker 1: illegal residents. Okay, when they set up the infrastructure of
- 7:21Speaker 1: the fine garden state, and it is a great state.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I love New Jersey. I was born and raised in
- 7:26Speaker 1: Lower New York. I was raised in Westchester County, so
- 7:29Speaker 1: I love New York. I went to high school and
- 7:30Speaker 1: college here in Manhattan. I went to Regis High School
- 7:33Speaker 1: and NYU very proud of New York. But I got
- 7:36Speaker 1: a taste of New Jersey in two thousand and three,
- 7:38Speaker 1: two thousand and four and never went back. I've been
- 7:41Speaker 1: a New Jersey resident ever since. I love New Jersey
- 7:43Speaker 1: and I live part time in Florida, but I just
- 7:46Speaker 1: love New Jersey for so many reasons. But when you
- 7:49Speaker 1: take nine million, and you add a million in a
- 7:52Speaker 1: short time over a few year period, you add a
- 7:55Speaker 1: million illegal migrants, you don't fix the infrastructure. Here's what
- 8:00Speaker 1: you get now. We are short water buildings that were
- 8:05Speaker 1: meant to accommodate, that had apartments that should accommodate two people.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You suddenly have twelve people jamming into apartments like that.
- 8:12Speaker 1: It happens all over Newark. I have friends who work
- 8:15Speaker 1: for the buildings department in Newark who've told me time
- 8:17Speaker 1: and time again they show up because pipes are bursting
- 8:19Speaker 1: in buildings. Why think about this. You flush a toilet
- 8:23Speaker 1: in an apartment that's meant to take two flushes an hour.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I mean literally, engineers for buildings will tell you this.
- 8:30Speaker 1: They calculate, Okay, if each apartment in the building flushes
- 8:34Speaker 1: twice an hour, the buildings pipes can accommodate this many flushes.
- 8:38Speaker 1: That's actually calculated by people who design plumbing in the
- 8:41Speaker 1: code departments and whatnot. All of a sudden, if you
- 8:44Speaker 1: sex stupple the amount of residents in each apartment, there
- 8:47Speaker 1: is no way the pipes and those buildings can maintain
- 8:51Speaker 1: all the flushes and all the draw on the water.
- 8:53Speaker 1: So you have people turning on water and all of
- 8:55Speaker 1: sudden they hear the pipes are like that because they're
- 8:58Speaker 1: literally straining. There's not enough water to get through. That's
- 9:01Speaker 1: what happens when you put four, five, six times the
- 9:04Speaker 1: population into a building that it was supposed to have,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and it's not fair to the tenants who have been
- 9:08Speaker 1: living there and paying rent, et cetera. All of a
- 9:11Speaker 1: sudden they have eight, ten, twelve people as their neighbors
- 9:13Speaker 1: when that wasn't supposed to be the case. That's too
- 9:16Speaker 1: much of a draw on the electricity, too much of
- 9:19Speaker 1: a draw on the water, too much flushing of the toilets,
- 9:21Speaker 1: et cetera. And the infrastructure suffers. The streets are more congested,
- 9:26Speaker 1: the schools are inundated. Remember in the eighties, what we
- 9:29Speaker 1: heard from our leftist friends was to have proper education,
- 9:32Speaker 1: we need to have smaller class sizes. We need to
- 9:34Speaker 1: have twelve kids in a classroom. By the way, I
- 9:36Speaker 1: went to Regis High School. We had thirty five kids
- 9:38Speaker 1: in a classroom. It's considered the best high school in America.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And all our people had IVY League. So what I'm
- 9:46Speaker 1: looking for when you get a free free ride to college?
- 9:49Speaker 1: Thank you. We all ended up in great colleges with
- 9:53Speaker 1: the free rides, all right, and we had thirty thirty
- 9:56Speaker 1: five kids to a class. So don't tell me that
- 9:57Speaker 1: it's all about class size. But that's what the left
- 9:59Speaker 1: tried to say tell us through the teachers unions in
- 10:01Speaker 1: the eighties and nineties. All of a sudden, though, when
- 10:04Speaker 1: illegal aliens come in, and yes, legally, they're called illegal
- 10:06Speaker 1: aliens in federal documentation. So I'm not trying to be
- 10:08Speaker 1: offensive to anyone. So don't take offense and clutch your pearls.
- 10:12Speaker 1: All of a sudden, when you have twenty more kids
- 10:14Speaker 1: added to a class that were not anticipated at the
- 10:16Speaker 1: beginning of the school year. You anticipated, oh, we'll have
- 10:19Speaker 1: twenty five kids. First day a school teacher comes in,
- 10:21Speaker 1: there are forty kids sitting there. That's because by law,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you have to accommodate the kids who are there. You
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't and in New Jersey, you don't ask are you
- 10:28Speaker 1: a citizen or not? Nope, you come, you're eight years old,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you get a seat in the class. We'll also give
- 10:34Speaker 1: you three squares a day, and on the weekends if
- 10:37Speaker 1: the school is closed, we'll still get your food, all right,
- 10:39Speaker 1: And I'm okay with that. I get that you're not
- 10:42Speaker 1: going to let a kid starve. It's not a kid's
- 10:43Speaker 1: problem that their parents did something that is contrary to
- 10:46Speaker 1: the laws of the United States. So don't look at
- 10:48Speaker 1: me and say, Resa, you're cruel. But the reality is,
- 10:51Speaker 1: it's one thing to be empathetic. It's another thing to
- 10:54Speaker 1: be foolish, and we are being foolish those on the
- 10:58Speaker 1: left who have opened the door without consulting the rest
- 11:02Speaker 1: of society. They've caused irreparable damage to the United States
- 11:07Speaker 1: and it will take generations if we have the gumption
- 11:11Speaker 1: to correct it. And a lot of people are already
- 11:14Speaker 1: wishy washy on the whole fixing the immigrant issue. And
- 11:18Speaker 1: by fixing, I mean if you're here illegally, we first
- 11:21Speaker 1: invite you to leave on your own. If you don't
- 11:22Speaker 1: want to leave on your own, then we've got to
- 11:24Speaker 1: remove you, all right, that's the way the law is.
- 11:27Speaker 1: If you voluntarily download the app, take your family, go
- 11:31Speaker 1: back to your country, we'll give you the airfare for free,
- 11:34Speaker 1: and we'll give you one thousand dollars per person leaving
- 11:38Speaker 1: you get back to your home country, wherever that is,
- 11:41Speaker 1: and now you can legally apply to come in with
- 11:43Speaker 1: the money we gave you. Why is that cruel and harsh?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Why does that mean and not empathetic? There isn't a
- 11:49Speaker 1: country on the planet that would do something so kind
- 11:53Speaker 1: as to provide the airfare and money so that you
- 11:57Speaker 1: can go hire an attorney and come back the legal way.
- 11:59Speaker 1: But some how the left is convinced everybody, especially in
- 12:03Speaker 1: TV news, they're just evil Republicans, they're just heartless. This
- 12:07Speaker 1: family has worked here. One has worked here as a
- 12:11Speaker 1: as a bus driver for thirty years, loving his family,
- 12:15Speaker 1: and now you ought to kick him out, you evil people. No, no, no,
- 12:18Speaker 1: no no. See he shouldn't have been allowed to come
- 12:21Speaker 1: in to begin with. Had you done your job and
- 12:23Speaker 1: allowed or allowed our border agents to do their job
- 12:26Speaker 1: as they took an oath to do, instead of tying
- 12:28Speaker 1: their hands and telling them, no, don't do your job.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Poor one wouldn't have come here with expectations that were
- 12:33Speaker 1: not realistic. So now we're supposed to suffer because your
- 12:37Speaker 1: party decided to do something contrary to our laws. No,
- 12:41Speaker 1: we need to fix the problem that you caused. And
- 12:44Speaker 1: one is welcome, and I'm just saying the name one.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I have family. My family's part Puerto Rican and part Argentinian.
- 12:50Speaker 1: So and again say listen to he's a racist, he's antiaspatic,
- 12:55Speaker 1: brother blade, Okay, baby, I speak Spanish fluently. Don't get
- 13:01Speaker 1: on my case. And I lived in Miami full time
- 13:05Speaker 1: for five years and everybody, all my friends, Yes, some
- 13:08Speaker 1: of my best friends are Latino. I'm married to Puerto
- 13:13Speaker 1: Rican and I happen to have family through Argentina. So
- 13:17Speaker 1: calm your horses. The point is you are welcome in
- 13:21Speaker 1: our country, but you got to come here the right way.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And anyone who comes here the right way you are
- 13:26Speaker 1: welcome to enjoy all the benefits of America. But if
- 13:29Speaker 1: you don't come here the right way, I don't hate you.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I just invite you to leave, take the money we're
- 13:34Speaker 1: offering you, and then come back the legal way, and
- 13:36Speaker 1: I will welcome you as my brother, as a fellow American.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Is that so hard? Is that so cruel? We'd love
- 13:43Speaker 1: to hear what you have to say about it. Eight
