Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:02
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're picking up where we
• 0:06
Speaker 1: left off talking about Glenn Dubin. What makes the Dubin
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Epstein relationship even more revolting is how public it was
• 0:15
Speaker 1: within their social circles. These weren't just shadowy backroom meetings.
• 0:19
Speaker 1: This was dinner party normalcy, yacht outings, and holiday gatherings
• 0:24
Speaker 1: in the rarefied Manhattan. Said people saw it, talked about it,
• 0:28
Speaker 1: and yet no one with any real influence challenged it. Instead,
• 0:32
Speaker 1: the Dubin's acceptance acted like a green light for everyone
• 0:36
Speaker 1: else who wanted to keep Epstein in their orbit without
• 0:39
Speaker 1: getting their own hands dirty. And Dubin's role wasn't passive either.
• 0:43
Speaker 1: His financial dealings with Epstein weren't just old investments left
• 0:46
Speaker 1: with her. They were maintained after Epstein's release from jail.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: That means someone somewhere had to actively sign off on
• 0:54
Speaker 1: continuing to intermingle assets with the convicted sex offender. In
• 0:58
Speaker 1: the world of high finance, nothing like that happens without
• 1:02
Speaker 1: explicit intent. Even Epstein's philanthropy laundering scheme using intermediaries to
• 1:08
Speaker 1: make donations without his name attached fit neatly into the
• 1:11
Speaker 1: Dubin connection. Eva Andersen Dubin's charity became one such outlet,
• 1:16
Speaker 1: enabling Epstein to maintain a veneer of generosity while sidestepping
• 1:21
Speaker 1: the reputational consequences. In essence, the Duben household wasn't just
• 1:25
Speaker 1: a friend's home to Epstein, it was part of his
• 1:28
Speaker 1: broader pr strategy. When the Virginia Roberts allegations emerged, Glenn
• 1:32
Speaker 1: Dubin's denials followed the predictable billionaire template, a brief, categorical
• 1:38
Speaker 1: and dismissive with no substantative engagements with the facts. But
• 1:43
Speaker 1: for survivors in the public, the more glaring issue was
• 1:46
Speaker 1: how deeply his name kept surfacing in legal filings, as
• 1:49
Speaker 1: if permanently welded to the infrastructure of Epstein's world. This
• 1:54
Speaker 1: wasn't a one off cameo. It was repeated, embedded presence
• 1:58
Speaker 1: and look the rod Here isn't only Dubin's own choices,
• 2:02
Speaker 1: but the ecosystem that enabled them. Other hedge fund titans,
• 2:06
Speaker 1: art world patrons and political donors saalms down by Epstein
• 2:10
Speaker 1: and chose to look the other way. In elite circles,
• 2:13
Speaker 1: moral failure doesn't trigger exile. It becomes a shared secret
• 2:16
Speaker 1: and unspoken agreement that no one will push too hard
• 2:20
Speaker 1: because everyone's rolodex has skeletons. Dubin's ongoing hospitality towards Epstein
• 2:26
Speaker 1: post conviction also undercuts every defense about not knowing the
• 2:30
Speaker 1: full scope of his crimes. By two thousand and nine,
• 2:33
Speaker 1: there was no mystery. Epstein had served time registered as
• 2:37
Speaker 1: a sex offender and had been the subject of extensive
• 2:40
Speaker 1: media coverage continuing the friendship wasn't about ignorance. It was
• 2:44
Speaker 1: about deciding that the crimes didn't outweigh his usefulness or companionship.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: The reported plan Epstein had to marry Selina Dubin wasn't
• 2:54
Speaker 1: some random joke either. It was exactly the kind of
• 2:57
Speaker 1: power play that he used to assert dominance over people
• 3:00
Speaker 1: in his orbit, a way to tether himself to the wealthy,
• 3:03
Speaker 1: influential families. And that this claim didn't trigger a total
• 3:07
Speaker 1: scorched earth severing of ties tells you everything you need
• 3:11
Speaker 1: to know about the mindset in the Duben household at
• 3:14
Speaker 1: the time. Subpoenas from the US Virgin Islands in twenty
• 3:17
Speaker 1: twenty put the Dubin squarely in the investigative's crosshairs. The
• 3:22
Speaker 1: Virgin Islands government wasn't wasting resources chasing irrelevant figures. They
• 3:27
Speaker 1: were targeting people and entities that formed key parts of
• 3:30
Speaker 1: Epstein's post two thousand and eight ecosystem. Glenn Dubin's inclusion
• 3:35
Speaker 1: on that list should have been a scandal in itself,
• 3:39
Speaker 1: yet it barely registered outside of investigative reporting. The quiet
• 3:44
Speaker 1: exit from high Bridge Capital and other public roles after
• 3:47
Speaker 1: Epstein's twenty nineteen arrest wasn't a moral decision, it was
• 3:51
Speaker 1: optics management. By stepping back without making public statements, Dubin
• 3:57
Speaker 1: could avoid the kind of on the record reckoning that
• 3:59
Speaker 1: my generate follow up questions or bind them to a
• 4:02
Speaker 1: position in the playbook of elite damage control. Silence is
• 4:06
Speaker 1: an awkward It's a strategy, and that strategy has worked,
• 4:12
Speaker 1: at least in part. Glen Dubin has avoided the criminal
• 4:15
Speaker 1: charges that have caught others in Epstein's orbit, and the
• 4:18
Speaker 1: public outrage has been diluted by the sheer volume of
• 4:21
Speaker 1: names involved. But in the court of public opinion, especially
• 4:24
Speaker 1: for those who have read the filings and traced the timelines,
• 4:28
Speaker 1: Dubin's years of post conviction friendship with Epstein remained one
• 4:31
Speaker 1: of the most blatant examples of power enabling predation. Now
• 4:37
Speaker 1: we have to talk about Eva Anderson Dubin and her
• 4:40
Speaker 1: connection to Jeffrey Epstein as well. And now it wasn't
• 4:42
Speaker 1: a fleeting social acquaintance either. It was an entanglement that
• 4:46
Speaker 1: stretched decades, long before she married Glen Dubin and long
• 4:50
Speaker 1: after Epstein's first arrest. She had dated Epstein in the
• 4:53
Speaker 1: early eighties, and they remained close afterward, a loyalty that
• 4:57
Speaker 1: persisted throughout his conviction for sex crimes. That's not an
• 5:01
Speaker 1: ordinary amicable ex relationship. That's willful proximity to a man
• 5:06
Speaker 1: who was later proven to be a predator. Even after
• 5:10
Speaker 1: marrying Glen Dubin, Eva kept Epstein in the fold, and
• 5:13
Speaker 1: not in the arm's length obligatory way that some exes
• 5:16
Speaker 1: remained cordial. She corresponded with them, saw them socially, and
• 5:21
Speaker 1: most shockingly, continued to bring them into her family's private spaces.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: It was Eva, after all, who reassured Epstein's probation officer
• 5:29
Speaker 1: in two thousand and nine that her family was one
• 5:32
Speaker 1: hundred percent comfortable having them over for Thanksgiving with their children.
• 5:36
Speaker 1: The optics of a former girlfriend turned family friend hosting
• 5:40
Speaker 1: a convicted sex offender at her own table with her
• 5:42
Speaker 1: children present are appalling enough, but when you factor in
• 5:46
Speaker 1: Eva's stature in New York's elite philanthropic scene, it becomes
• 5:50
Speaker 1: even more grotesque. She wasn't some unowned figure who could
• 5:53
Speaker 1: slip under the radar. She was a public presence, a
• 5:56
Speaker 1: patron of the arts and medical causes, consciously lending her
• 6:00
Speaker 1: credibility to someone whose reputation was already in tatters. Her
• 6:05
Speaker 1: breast cancer foundation also became a convenient channel for Epstein's
• 6:09
Speaker 1: philanthropy laundering. Instead of attaching his name to donations, which
• 6:13
Speaker 1: would have triggered outrage and negative press, Epstein gave anonymously
• 6:18
Speaker 1: or through structures designed to hide the source. Eva didn't
• 6:22
Speaker 1: have to accept the money, but she did, and in
• 6:24
Speaker 1: doing so, she allowed him to keep buying his way
• 6:26
Speaker 1: back into polite society. Now. Eva's defenders sometimes framed her
• 6:31
Speaker 1: relationship with Epstein as a product of long standing friendship,
• 6:35
Speaker 1: as though history is a moral shield that logic collapses
• 6:39
Speaker 1: instantly when applied to a sex offender with a known
• 6:42
Speaker 1: history of targeting miners. We've known him for a long
• 6:45
Speaker 1: time is not a defense. It's an admission that the
• 6:48
Speaker 1: ties were so strong that even his conviction couldn't sever them.
• 6:52
Speaker 1: And what's worse is the message this sent to her
• 6:55
Speaker 1: own children and to the elite circle she moved in.
• 6:58
Speaker 1: By normalizing epstein presence in their lives post conviction, Eva
• 7:02
Speaker 1: modeled the idea that wealth, power, and personal loyalty are
• 7:06
Speaker 1: more important than the moralligned drawn at child's sexual abuse.
• 7:11
Speaker 1: And we're not just talking about bad judgment. We're talking
• 7:15
Speaker 1: about a corrosive pretense of ethical leadership in the philanthropic
• 7:19
Speaker 1: world that she inhabited. Her long strange loyalty to Epstein
• 7:25
Speaker 1: also gave him something he desperately needed, the ability to
• 7:28
Speaker 1: appoint to a respectable woman who vouched for him in
• 7:31
Speaker 1: the wake of his conviction. When others avoided him publicly,
• 7:35
Speaker 1: eva continued acceptance acted like a character reference in the
• 7:38
Speaker 1: court of public opinion for a predator trying to rebuild
• 7:41
Speaker 1: his network. That kind of validation was priceless. Even after
• 7:46
Speaker 1: Epstein's twenty nineteen arrest, when the scale of his crimes
• 7:50
Speaker 1: became impossible to dismiss, report surfaced about the depth of
• 7:54
Speaker 1: his relationship with the Dubin family. Eva's passed as his
• 7:57
Speaker 1: girlfriend and her post conviction friendship were suddenly on avoidable headlines.
• 8:02
Speaker 1: Yet she, like her husband, opted for minimal public engagement.
• 8:06
Speaker 1: No extended explanation, no full throated condemnation, just damage control.
• 8:12
Speaker 1: It's also telling that Epstein reportedly considered marrying Selena Dubin,
• 8:17
Speaker 1: Eva's daughter. While some dismiss this as another of Epstein's
• 8:21
Speaker 1: manipulative fantasies, the fact that it was plausible enough to
• 8:25
Speaker 1: report underscores just how intimately entwined he remained with the family,
• 8:30
Speaker 1: and how Eva's own comfort with him helped maintain that
• 8:34
Speaker 1: entanglement at its core. Eva Anderson Dubin's long, weird relationship
• 8:39
Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein isn't just about bad optics. It's about
• 8:43
Speaker 1: how deep personal loyalty can curdle into moral blindness. She
• 8:48
Speaker 1: had every reason to shut the door on him permanently
• 8:50
Speaker 1: after two thousand and eight. Instead, she kept it wide open,
• 8:54
Speaker 1: and in doing so, she helped give a convicted predator
• 8:56
Speaker 1: the social oxygen he needed to keep moving in the
• 9:00
Speaker 1: highest circles. By the time Epstein was arrested again in
• 9:04
Speaker 1: twenty nineteen, the Dubins had already spent a decade providing
• 9:08
Speaker 1: them with the kind of high society cover he couldn't
• 9:10
Speaker 1: buy anywhere else. And it wasn't an act of charity.
• 9:14
Speaker 1: It was an act of complicity, the deliberate choice to
• 9:18
Speaker 1: keep a convicted sex offender in their lives, their home,
• 9:20
Speaker 1: and their public image. Their loyalty to Epstein gave them
• 9:25
Speaker 1: what no PR firm or crisis manager could, the endorsement
• 9:29
Speaker 1: of an influential, respectable couple who refused to treat him
• 9:33
Speaker 1: like a pariah he should have been. Even after twenty nineteen.
• 9:36
Speaker 1: Their strategy wasn't to denounce them or express regret. It
• 9:40
Speaker 1: was to retreat quietly, to avoid on camera reckonings, to
• 9:43
Speaker 1: let lawyers and spokespeople drip feed sanitize denials. Glenn stepped
• 9:48
Speaker 1: away from public face of his hedge fund. Eva slipped
• 9:51
Speaker 1: deeper into the background of her philanthropy, but neither offered
• 9:55
Speaker 1: the kind of candid, soul searching public accounting that would
• 9:59
Speaker 1: have shown even a shred of responsibility for the role
• 10:02
Speaker 1: they played in Epstein's rehabilitation tour. In many ways, their
• 10:07
Speaker 1: silence has been as damning as any direct statement could be.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: The Dubans never use their platform to condemn Epstein's crimes
• 10:14
Speaker 1: to side publicly with the survivors. They never explain why
• 10:17
Speaker 1: their family dinners and holiday gatherings include a registered sex offender.
• 10:22
Speaker 1: They never walk the public through their thinking because doing
• 10:25
Speaker 1: so would require them to admit just how indefensible their
• 10:28
Speaker 1: actions were. This is the blueprint for elite crisis management,
• 10:33
Speaker 1: weighted out bank on short memory of the new cycle,
• 10:36
Speaker 1: and trust that the public outrage will eventually be drowned
• 10:39
Speaker 1: out by the next scandal. It often works, but that
• 10:43
Speaker 1: doesn't erase the history or the fact that their choices
• 10:46
Speaker 1: directly contributed to Epstein's ability to remain in circulation, meet
• 10:50
Speaker 1: new people, and sustain the illusion of legitimacy. It's also
• 10:55
Speaker 1: a reminder of how predators like Epstein thrive not because
• 10:58
Speaker 1: their masterminds off operating alone, but because they're propped up
• 11:02
Speaker 1: by people who should know better. Without enablers like the Dubin's,
• 11:06
Speaker 1: Epstein's reach would have been drastically reduced after two thousand
• 11:10
Speaker 1: and eight. They didn't just fail to close the door
• 11:12
Speaker 1: on them, they opened it wider and for years, the
• 11:16
Speaker 1: Dubin household, with its wealth status and deep rolodex was
• 11:20
Speaker 1: the perfect showroom for Epstein's rehabilitation. A man who should
• 11:24
Speaker 1: have been a social outcast was instead enjoying Thanksgiving in
• 11:28
Speaker 1: one of Manhattan's most rarefied homes, breaking bread with a
• 11:31
Speaker 1: family that carried both Wall Street and philanthropic cloud. That
• 11:35
Speaker 1: single fact tells you everything you need to know about
• 11:38
Speaker 1: the skewed moral compass at play, and look, it's hard
• 11:42
Speaker 1: to overstate the damage this kind of elite endorsement does
• 11:45
Speaker 1: the public perception. For every potential ally who might have
• 11:49
Speaker 1: thought twice about associating with Epstein after his conviction, seeing
• 11:53
Speaker 1: him embraced by people like Lenn and Eva Dubin sent
• 11:56
Speaker 1: the opposite message that money, status, and personal loyalty can
• 12:01
Speaker 1: neutralize even the ugliest of crimes. When Epstein finally died
• 12:06
Speaker 1: in federal custody, the Dubans lost the one person whose
• 12:09
Speaker 1: presence in their lives will forever stand their names. But
• 12:13
Speaker 1: death didn't erase the paper trail, the subpoenas, the testimonies,
• 12:17
Speaker 1: the allegations, or the photographs that placed them firmly in
• 12:20
Speaker 1: his orbit. Their chapter in Epstein's saga is permanent, no
• 12:25
Speaker 1: matter how much they or their lawyers wish it could
• 12:28
Speaker 1: be scrubbed. Survivors of Epstein's abuse have every right to
• 12:31
Speaker 1: look at the Dubans and see not just friends of
• 12:33
Speaker 1: the predator, but facilitators of his post conviction survival. Their
• 12:38
Speaker 1: year's long relationship with them after two thousand and eight
• 12:42
Speaker 1: wasn't just a lapse in judgment. It was a signal
• 12:44
Speaker 1: to the world that his crimes could be forgiven or
• 12:47
Speaker 1: ignored in the right company. And look, the Dubans weren't
• 12:51
Speaker 1: bystanders swept up and someone else's scandal. There were active
• 12:54
Speaker 1: participants in the social rehabilitation and accused, at least Glenn Dubin,
• 13:00
Speaker 1: of partaking in the abuse itself of one of the
• 13:02
Speaker 1: most notorious predators of our time. They chose to protect them,
• 13:07
Speaker 1: to stand beside them, to keep them welcomed in their home,
• 13:10
Speaker 1: and by doing so, they crossed a line they can
• 13:13
Speaker 1: never uncross. The damage that they enabled can't be undone,
• 13:17
Speaker 1: and their names will forever be a footnote in the
• 13:19
Speaker 1: story of how Jeffrey Epstein kept his world intact long
• 13:23
Speaker 1: after the rest of us knew exactly what he was.
