- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, Bill Krackenberger, John Orlando over here at the
- 0:02Speaker 1: World Series of Poker. We're getting heavy here. Looks like
- 0:06Speaker 1: we're uh we're up to event forty nine already.
- 0:10Speaker 2: So it's crazy half way?
- 0:12Speaker 1: Is that halfway?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:13Speaker 1: Of course we know what's your what's your next plan? Here?
- 0:17Speaker 2: Uh?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Next before I attack you? What's your next play?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Next plan? I'm coming off of a deep run yesterday.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, John had a deep run, but he did
- 0:26Speaker 1: last night, was texting me many time. Yeah, John won
- 0:31Speaker 1: a lot of money. That's today finally, I'm really happy.
- 0:33Speaker 2: No, that's not a lot of money.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Three dollars, so that's considered.
- 0:39Speaker 2: That's you know, uh, even on the on the day. Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 1: So Don John had a deep run in the thirty
- 0:44Speaker 1: nine dollars tournament. Yeah, yeah, they John, So you played
- 0:49Speaker 1: a two fifty. That's the daily tournament here.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah. But they have been really meaty. I mean there was.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Like fifteen hundred, sixteen hundred entries. Yesterday was the largest
- 0:57Speaker 3: field they've had. The second largest was the one Tyson
- 1:01Speaker 3: ran really deep in like maybe a week or two ago.
- 1:04Speaker 1: The final table.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yes, he came in eighth. Wow, Yeah, he came in
- 1:08Speaker 2: eighth for like thirty five hundred and thirty.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Six it was forty nine hundred.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Yeah, it was almost five.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh, it was almost five k okay, sorry almost five ks.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Don't want to give your credit for anything. It's some
- 1:19Speaker 1: poker players.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I don't know that tournament. I don't know how my
- 1:26Speaker 1: what my feeling is? My feeling is this? You don't
- 1:29Speaker 1: know what the rake is? Still?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Probably No, That's why I text you last night. Read
- 1:33Speaker 2: the text.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But come on, dollars for two hundred and fifty dollars,
- 1:36Speaker 1: you can read a text.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I'm going to read your text.
- 1:38Speaker 1: No, but like the rake is probably October twenty percent.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Okay, you know, so.
- 1:44Speaker 1: They're probably taking over fifty bucks for and they call
- 1:48Speaker 1: this not only here, by the way, it's everywhere. Someone
- 1:50Speaker 1: just hold me to burg Got in Atlantic City. I
- 1:53Speaker 1: actually spoke to the poker room manager. I should say
- 1:55Speaker 1: my friend spoke to the poker room manager. That manager
- 1:59Speaker 1: there for years. He said, we always had ten percent takeout,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and now it's fifteen percent takeout and there's I think
- 2:06Speaker 1: it's sixteen percent and five percent of the staff and dealers.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I want to know what that means. I don't know.
- 2:10Speaker 1: What that means, like, in other words, the dealers have
- 2:13Speaker 1: no problem. Is the staff? Are you tipping the floor
- 2:16Speaker 1: people out of the money? And I'm not talking about
- 2:17Speaker 1: talk about the world Ship every poker tournament, I'm talking
- 2:20Speaker 1: about the Bergatta, I'm talking about Aria, I'm talking about
- 2:23Speaker 1: cazars everywhere you go. I don't. I don't, But then again,
- 2:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:27Speaker 2: What the cares tipping them.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I think it's probably just if it covers the cost
- 2:32Speaker 3: of them.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I would imagine people get so much per day. Let's
- 2:34Speaker 1: say they get two hundred and fifty dollars a day,
- 2:36Speaker 1: so they get two fifty a day. Now do they
- 2:39Speaker 1: get extra money on top of air because of the
- 2:43Speaker 1: tournaments or but that just go to absorb their two
- 2:45Speaker 1: fifty a day. It's probably goes then I think, guess
- 2:48Speaker 1: you get more money bill.
- 2:49Speaker 2: But that's like say you're gonna say.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Staff, give it the give it, give them extra money
- 2:53Speaker 1: on top of their set, But I think it.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Goes to fund the staff.
- 2:55Speaker 3: That's like saying, well, out of the one hundred and
- 2:57Speaker 3: twenty nine dollars they watch for the the bone and Ribbi,
- 3:00Speaker 3: they wont one hundred and twenty nine bucks where's my
- 3:02Speaker 3: one twenty nine going?
- 3:04Speaker 2: Who cares you getting a steak?
- 3:06Speaker 1: Right right?
- 3:06Speaker 4: Right?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Well, this is the steak I know I have listened
- 3:09Speaker 1: to me. I'm all for tipping the dealers, by the way.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I know you're you're super generous.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Tip the dealers. Yeah, they put up a lot of
- 3:16Speaker 1: abuse from people. There's a lot of people from different
- 3:19Speaker 1: parts of the countries and parts of the world that
- 3:21Speaker 1: don't tip. So that's their customs. They're not being rude
- 3:25Speaker 1: or mean, that's just what they're used to. I have
- 3:27Speaker 1: no problem with taking out money for the dealers.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 1: My problem is when at the end of the tournament
- 3:33Speaker 1: when they ask for more, when you go to this
- 3:36Speaker 1: cash and windows, would you like to leaving?
- 3:38Speaker 3: And I never even considered that until you brought that
- 3:41Speaker 3: that piece up.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I have no problem with you even giving more to
- 3:45Speaker 1: the dealers and staff for sure. Just let me know though, Hey,
- 3:47Speaker 1: so I got this, but this is going.
- 3:49Speaker 2: To be extra for that, I agree persolutely.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I'd rather know who my dealers were who I liked. Yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 1: give them gift cards.
- 3:54Speaker 2: And yeah, I love that you do that.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I like to give them gift card. I do that
- 3:57Speaker 1: for Christmas time. For dealers in the casino last night.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Last night, I sent your screenshot. I was chip leader
- 4:03Speaker 3: there for for a little bit.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and you said, okay, go get them.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Like a couple hundred people left.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, like usual. Yeah yeah, and you go, okay,
- 4:13Speaker 3: go get them. I go in the money, but we
- 4:15Speaker 3: want the forty K. Tonight, you said that is so
- 4:17Speaker 3: sick that a two hundred and fifty dollars tournament has
- 4:19Speaker 3: a forty k top prize.
- 4:21Speaker 2: And I said, see why the rake doesn't matter?
- 4:24Speaker 1: And you know it's a lot of money for two
- 4:26Speaker 1: hundred and fifty. Yeah, but you could see the obstacles.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I don't know what happened late, I fell asleep and
- 4:33Speaker 1: you came in sixty at that Yeah, twenty So you
- 4:36Speaker 1: got nine hundred and twenty three dollars.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah, now.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The real number for the tournament's ten years ago. You
- 4:44Speaker 1: might have got eighteen hundred.
- 4:46Speaker 2: No, I understand that because the.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Rake is down double then what it was. You know. Okay,
- 4:49Speaker 1: so you have to work a lot harder to get
- 4:51Speaker 1: any serious money.
- 4:53Speaker 3: But where else are you going to find a daily
- 4:56Speaker 3: tournament that gets sixteen hundred people in it?
- 4:59Speaker 1: Only yesterday there was sixteen hundred people in.
- 5:03Speaker 2: A fifteen correct. And you know why because the wsop's
- 5:07Speaker 2: in town.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Of course, you have Venetian, right, you have the win.
- 5:12Speaker 1: They're all having daily tournaments, right, and they're bringing these
- 5:15Speaker 1: people in.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:17Speaker 1: How does it on a Monday? How are you have
- 5:19Speaker 1: sixteen hundred there? Sixteen hundred there? It's amazing.
- 5:23Speaker 2: And that's been my point.
- 5:24Speaker 3: That's why I say I'll die on the hill is
- 5:26Speaker 3: because all of that, even around town, even if they're
- 5:29Speaker 3: getting charging a less less of a rake at Venetian
- 5:32Speaker 3: or Encore or whatever.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And I don't even know if they are, because again
- 5:34Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but they it only charges like eight percent, ten percent?
- 5:38Speaker 2: I think you know now. Now I will say this.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I I had a good talk with a guy the
- 5:45Speaker 2: other day about the rake.
- 5:48Speaker 3: He's a poker pro, and I said, when I say
- 5:51Speaker 3: the rake doesn't matter in your local casino, yes it does.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's different. That is different speaking.
- 5:59Speaker 3: But I was speaking of just here at WSP. Would
- 6:02Speaker 3: I say, who cares? Who cares?
- 6:04Speaker 2: Because where are you gonna get a field of twenty
- 6:06Speaker 2: thousand people? Where are you gonna get a field of
- 6:08Speaker 2: fifteen hundred daily?
- 6:09Speaker 1: John said this the Wall actually has Yeah, a couple
- 6:12Speaker 1: of bricks out.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Of the wall.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Because they're sixteen, sixteen hundred people on a Monday.
- 6:17Speaker 2: It's insane, you know, And you're bringing and.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And I don't know, you have to answer this. The
- 6:21Speaker 1: quality of the players playing two fifty is not someone
- 6:24Speaker 1: that's playing a two thousand dollars torrent.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I would think you're one hundred percent right.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Why John's in it, That's why he makes it. He
- 6:31Speaker 1: actually cares this once in a while.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, fish where the fish are?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah? So I have a question. I have a question
- 6:37Speaker 1: for your genius. Yeah, what's your next plans? Here? What
- 6:40Speaker 1: are you doing with all this money except for lighting
- 6:42Speaker 1: it on?
- 6:42Speaker 2: All this money?
- 6:43Speaker 3: Uh so we're gonna gonna jump in the Daily again today.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I have to leave tomorrow to go to a wedding.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Pine size Warrior sister. Vanessa's sisters getting married.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Go to weddings and funerals.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yes, yes, So the wedding's on Thursday. I come back
- 6:57Speaker 3: on Friday. I'll jump in the fifteen hundred A millionaire maker.
- 7:01Speaker 3: The million Maker has several day ones. I don't even
- 7:05Speaker 3: I think there's there's.
- 7:06Speaker 2: A flight that I can do either Friday, Saturday, Sunday fifteen.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Why why why do you ask?
- 7:11Speaker 4: We are five?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Were you wanting a piece? Is that?
- 7:15Speaker 4: Oh?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Okay, you know.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'm wanting to book more on that beat. Matter of fact,
- 7:18Speaker 1: a lot of people, thank you guys.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of people.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Said if they want they loved them, they want to
- 7:22Speaker 1: get in the ten dollars ten dollars, yeah, one hundred yeah, yeah,
- 7:25Speaker 1: ten Yeah. It's ten dollars for one hundred thousand.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yeah. So anything else you want to put towards that,
- 7:31Speaker 1: it's tax free for.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You, right right.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But yeah, I'll play the millionaire maker. Oh oh, you
- 7:37Speaker 3: know what, I'm not going to announce it yet. I
- 7:40Speaker 3: have a new Tag Team partner this year. Oh wow,
- 7:42Speaker 3: a minute, I'll say it. Okay, the new Tag Team partner.
- 7:46Speaker 3: So it's been Jeff Madison for the last three years.
- 7:48Speaker 1: He's been playing so good in these tournaments.
- 7:50Speaker 3: So you know, Madison's been my partner, or I've been
- 7:53Speaker 3: his partner, I should say, for the last three years.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Sick and tired of it.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 3: He I see him the other day. He's playing in
- 7:59Speaker 3: a ten k whatever. He's playing over here, and uh,
- 8:03Speaker 3: I said, I made a joke. I said, hey, you
- 8:04Speaker 3: want me to do you want me to tag in?
- 8:06Speaker 2: And he goes, oh, by the.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Way, uh, I'm going to go in a different direction
- 8:12Speaker 3: this day. In the tag team, he's going with Mike Holtz,
- 8:15Speaker 3: who just won another bracelet he went a week ago.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I said, Okay, I get it. That's cool.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I understand, you know, I said, but let me tell
- 8:23Speaker 3: you a little story, jeff Jeffrey, you know, let me
- 8:27Speaker 3: tell you a story. Let me remind you of a story.
- 8:28Speaker 3: There's a baseball player named Bryce Harper.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Okay, you've heard of Bryce Harper. Future Hall of Famer
- 8:33Speaker 2: for sure, right, would you agree? I don't know if
- 8:35Speaker 2: you remember.
- 8:35Speaker 3: He played for the Washington Nationals and he wasn't happy
- 8:39Speaker 3: there because they just they came up short, right, So
- 8:42Speaker 3: he decides he wants he wants to go somewhere else,
- 8:44Speaker 3: So he goes to the Phillies.
- 8:46Speaker 2: You know. The year that Harper went to the Phillies.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Do you know what happened? Bill?
- 8:50Speaker 1: They won the World Series?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Who won the Washington Nationals?
- 8:56Speaker 3: The team Bryce Harper left and abandoned ended up going
- 9:01Speaker 3: on to win the World Series.
- 9:04Speaker 2: So I'm just.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Saying, Bryce Harper is your partner. No, I really did know, yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 2: No, no, Bryce Harper is my partner.
- 9:11Speaker 3: But my point is Madsen has hopped He's jump ship,
- 9:16Speaker 3: which I makes me in perfect position to win the
- 9:20Speaker 3: tag team with my new partner, which is Tyson White
- 9:25Speaker 3: aka fat Don Draper from from bet Sports.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yes you did. Yeah, so we're going to.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Be how much is that?
- 9:32Speaker 2: It's a thousand dollars entry and now you use play separately.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you're tag in and out whenever you want the rule.
- 9:38Speaker 3: It's a really cool section.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Play more than you. I'll just tell you right now.
- 9:42Speaker 3: So I'm just saying, come on, come on, come on, yeah, no,
- 9:47Speaker 3: I know, yeah, So you can be fun.
- 9:49Speaker 1: You got your fifteen hundred dollars thing. When you get
- 9:50Speaker 1: back now, yeah, you're gonna be in a wedding, you'll
- 9:52Speaker 1: be drinking, partying, broad so everything. Now you're gonna be
- 9:56Speaker 1: able to come back and you'll be you'll be all right, physical,
- 9:58Speaker 1: drink financial.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes, of course, I'm a machine.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Okay, good, and you'll be able to get right off,
- 10:04Speaker 1: right in.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Jump right in, fresh from the airport, from the runway,
- 10:07Speaker 3: straight to the wsop the vlog.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yes, having a blast, My.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Guys, who loved you going in a little bit different directions.
- 10:15Speaker 1: No what Yeah, no, they loved you, they love the vlog,
- 10:18Speaker 1: but going in a little bit different direction. They were
- 10:21Speaker 1: they want they want to see more poker. They said,
- 10:23Speaker 1: you were doing I'm not caught up. I'm two days
- 10:25Speaker 1: about three Okay, I guess they didn't. You were questioning
- 10:28Speaker 1: people about ten thousand.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so uh the boys, Yeah, I don't know
- 10:34Speaker 3: if you want to you want.
- 10:35Speaker 2: To be it, no, screw it? All right.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah they had to leave town for a couple of days.
- 10:39Speaker 3: All right, so we had to do what we had
- 10:41Speaker 3: to do.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Oh so you need them to have to stick there?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Well yeah, I mean they were just they weren't there
- 10:47Speaker 2: to edit.
- 10:47Speaker 1: You know, you went around and asking Yeah, so we.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Just we had it's like a pre taped segment. We'll
- 10:53Speaker 2: get yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, just asking people. Yeah, what
- 10:57Speaker 2: they would do?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Well, my question is, John, what would you do with this?
- 11:01Speaker 1: If you won the ten million dollars? You probably wouldn't
- 11:04Speaker 1: live too much different you got you know, you got
- 11:06Speaker 1: everything all these.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Probably buy a new house, keep our house but just no, no,
- 11:12Speaker 3: it's our house is great, But I'd upgrade to a
- 11:14Speaker 3: house with like a view of the strip kind of thing.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Just just take it up a notch, maybe a single
- 11:18Speaker 3: story house, just to prepare for the future.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Right, your buddy's laughing.
- 11:28Speaker 3: You know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, just prepare
- 11:30Speaker 3: for you know, how long can we do stairs?
- 11:32Speaker 2: Right? No, I don't know.
- 11:34Speaker 3: And then definitely some cars, and definitely take care of
- 11:39Speaker 3: a lot of friends that are deserving.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You know who you are. You get a little piece too, Bill,
- 11:44Speaker 2: don't worry.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Of course, you do one hundred percent. You do one
- 11:47Speaker 3: hundred percent. Actually, I had people in the comments. I
- 11:50Speaker 3: don't know if you sny in those comments, they asked
- 11:52Speaker 3: me to ask you the same question.
- 11:55Speaker 2: You just won the main event ten million, how about it.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm pretty stupid with money, so people don't know that.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So smart and you know, skill sets of winning things
- 12:05Speaker 1: and holding on the money, and I'm sorry the opposite,
- 12:09Speaker 1: not holding on the money is my downfall as far
- 12:11Speaker 1: as I've done much better at this, but not saying
- 12:18Speaker 1: no to people trying to help, everybody trying to you know,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I would try to do that a little bit more.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And thank God for my wife that is smart enough
- 12:29Speaker 1: for a lot of things. But yeah, I'm a fool
- 12:33Speaker 1: of my money. I eat out, I take everyone of dinners,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and I want to do that. I'm not bragging about it.
- 12:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I like doing that. I like going out, and I
- 12:43Speaker 1: do like enjoying. I like other people enjoying more than me.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I told you, I just I found the shirts on
- 12:48Speaker 1: sale twenty five bucks. I was all pumped, yeah, on myself.
- 12:51Speaker 1: It's really weird, like even the sneakers I have on
- 12:54Speaker 1: I won't spend two hundred dollars on sneakers. And my
- 12:57Speaker 1: wife said, you're buying these. I bought these for you
- 12:59Speaker 1: because they are good for big men. I don't even
- 13:01Speaker 1: know the brand name, but they are. They're so soft.
- 13:03Speaker 2: On called the cloud.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I almost said, you're like on a cloud.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, on cloud good.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Oh see yeah, oh see comfy. Huh yeah, they're they're
- 13:10Speaker 1: they're good. There, they are good.
- 13:12Speaker 4: She's right, she's right.
- 13:13Speaker 1: So but as far as I'm not trust me, I'm
- 13:15Speaker 1: not trying to say my mother's Teresa here, but I
- 13:18Speaker 1: have it's not even lent out. I had given out
- 13:23Speaker 1: more money and try to help other people, and and
- 13:25Speaker 1: uh and and and done a lot of stupid things,
- 13:28Speaker 1: made a lot of dumb deals for myself in my life.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I would try to gather that and maybe put it
- 13:34Speaker 1: in an investment. I'm not a bitcoin guy. I've never
- 13:36Speaker 1: had money to have bitcoin in the past when it
- 13:38Speaker 1: was you know, a thousand and two thousand and five
- 13:40Speaker 1: thousand a coin. I've never taken money and invested it somewhere,
- 13:47Speaker 1: so I would definitely be more of an investment type
- 13:50Speaker 1: of guy. Now every year I've been killing futures. I
- 13:54Speaker 1: won like Vanchero was a giant win for.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Me, eighteen to one, right or twenty three to one
- 14:00Speaker 2: to one.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Eighteen the ones? Correct? Yeah, I got down remember fifteen
- 14:03Speaker 1: to one, twelve to one, incredible draftings twice at twelve
- 14:07Speaker 1: to one for like five thousand dollars bets they gave
- 14:10Speaker 1: me too, So I did I did?
- 14:12Speaker 2: You got a big o tany MVP once right, MVP.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I wasn't that. How could that have been thirty three
- 14:19Speaker 2: to one?
- 14:19Speaker 1: You got thirty three to one and thirty to one
- 14:20Speaker 1: on that. So when those big futures cashed, Yes, I
- 14:24Speaker 1: did buy some I did buy a property, you know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: I did. I did buy some things that I have still,
- 14:29Speaker 1: thank god. But as far as cash goes, yeah, I'll
- 14:35Speaker 1: invest it. I'm already invested. John, you wouldn't believe, you
- 14:39Speaker 1: would not believe how much money I invested already already
- 14:43Speaker 1: on futures. I mean you could just look at these futures.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I had these up yesterday.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Twenty so wow, all of those these.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Are these are these are like giant six figures I
- 14:54Speaker 1: invested in. I don't have the money, so it's but
- 14:56Speaker 1: it's gone, it's gone. I have like Week one, I
- 14:59Speaker 1: have one, two, three, four, five, six, six games. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: bet Week one of NFL too over underseason wins. As
- 15:05Speaker 1: you could see there, you know, packers under under ten
- 15:09Speaker 1: and a half. I bet that like twice around.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And you haven't expected return.
- 15:13Speaker 1: On your like, I'll give you another one. I'm giving
- 15:15Speaker 1: out ually, don't give out plays on the show. The
- 15:18Speaker 1: Patriots I wanted over, so I went down to the
- 15:20Speaker 1: South Point. I bet I bet over nine and a
- 15:23Speaker 1: half minus fifteen for a max bet, which was a
- 15:25Speaker 1: lot five thousand. I bet it again over minus twenty
- 15:28Speaker 1: for five thousand. Like that money's gone now, it's all now.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Now it's out of my life. It's good for six months,
- 15:33Speaker 1: eight months. The ROI on them have been ridiculous, much
- 15:37Speaker 1: more than any investment I could probably invest in they've
- 15:41Speaker 1: been They've been really good over the years. So that
- 15:43Speaker 1: stuff I do have, and I always keep that amount
- 15:46Speaker 1: of money to I know I'm gonna be able to
- 15:47Speaker 1: go and invest in them again. So as far as
- 15:51Speaker 1: that goes, my life wouldn't change. I wouldn't get a
- 15:52Speaker 1: new car. I'm fine. I have a key electric vehicle.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I love truck that I absolutely love. I wouldn't be
- 15:59Speaker 1: getting a new car. And as far as no, there's
- 16:02Speaker 1: no new house.
- 16:03Speaker 3: I like.
- 16:03Speaker 1: The place I live in is great. Maybe I get
- 16:07Speaker 1: my wife. My wife wants to we're gonna we're going
- 16:11Speaker 1: to get a house on the East coast by her parents.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Maybe I will get that a little bit sooner or something.
- 16:16Speaker 1: As far as living differently, no, I wouldn't be flashy.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I don't wear no jewelry, uh now, and who am
- 16:22Speaker 1: I kidd And I would definitely be giving money away
- 16:24Speaker 1: helping people. Try not to help gamblers so much because
- 16:28Speaker 1: they don't appreciate it and burn up the money. More charitable.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm an animal charity guy as it is now. I
- 16:34Speaker 1: give some money away every year animal charities monthly actually,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and I would maybe step that up a little bit. Yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 1: and uh Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Now, are you ready for the main event grind, Because
- 16:44Speaker 3: I'm still working on your sponsor bill. I'm gonna get
- 16:46Speaker 3: you a sponsor. You're gonna be playing in the main event,
- 16:48Speaker 3: are you Are you ready? Yes, you're ready.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll play.
- 16:52Speaker 2: So if I find you the sponsor, you are going
- 16:54Speaker 2: to play.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Sure, and you can have this whoa.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Whoa whoa whoa.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah. And by the way, I've only even with the rake.
- 17:01Speaker 2: You're gonna give up fifty percent to me. Huh.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I played the main event once and I came in
- 17:05Speaker 1: one hundred and seventy seven.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So just to you know, I did cash and that
- 17:09Speaker 2: was years ago.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Twenty some years ago. I played seniors event last year
- 17:13Speaker 1: cash didn't do nothing to shoot. So anyway, that that'll
- 17:16Speaker 1: be fun. Yeah, let's you guys hear this right?
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah, if he gets on here.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Okay, So we have a guy with us today that
- 17:24Speaker 1: has won the five thousand dollars seniors event. He has
- 17:28Speaker 1: his bracelet. John tried the Gloman already on him. But yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 1: so we're gonna bring him on right now. And uh
- 17:34Speaker 1: and you know you get to meet you get to
- 17:36Speaker 1: meet a bracelet winner.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, I'm excited.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Hey, guys, I want to do the Weekly Wager Wires segment.
- 17:42Speaker 1: This is an interesting one ten dollars to win eleven
- 17:45Speaker 1: and eighty two dollars. Now, two of the three legs
- 17:48Speaker 1: have cashed. Here Arizona, which they already got, already cashed
- 17:51Speaker 1: the NCAA Tournament West Region winner. You've had the New
- 17:55Speaker 1: York Knicks to win the East. Big thing for New
- 17:57Speaker 1: York here too. Wow, that was a real big congratulation
- 18:00Speaker 1: to them, gradulations to the city. Now the last leg
- 18:04Speaker 1: here is France to win the World Cup. When the
- 18:08Speaker 1: original bet was placed, it was eight to one. Now
- 18:10Speaker 1: it's four to one, a little bit less three seventy five.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Let's say it's four to one. So that makes the
- 18:15Speaker 1: cash out right now the buyout offer on this ten
- 18:17Speaker 1: dollars bet two hundred and twenty nine dollars profit, So
- 18:20Speaker 1: two hundred and thirty nine dollars. If you would have
- 18:23Speaker 1: bet the two hundred and thirty nine dollars right now
- 18:25Speaker 1: at plus three seventy five, or I'll even say plus
- 18:27Speaker 1: four to one. Obviously, that's much less under one thousand
- 18:31Speaker 1: dollars compared to the eleven eighty two here, I would
- 18:35Speaker 1: say go for it and not sell this right now.
- 18:38Speaker 1: France is the big favorite here to win the World Cup.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Second choice is like six and a half to one,
- 18:45Speaker 1: So I would say go with this for now unless
- 18:47Speaker 1: you see something you don't like, or maybe the two
- 18:50Speaker 1: hundred and thirty nine dollars. It is twenty extra bet
- 18:52Speaker 1: over twenty extra bet. But I would hold on to
- 18:55Speaker 1: this one. This is just one of them over at
- 18:58Speaker 1: wagerwire dot com and the wager Wire. All right, guys,
- 19:01Speaker 1: we're back. I have a story here that's just amazing.
- 19:05Speaker 1: So this gentleman next to me, Mark Checkwood, said, said
- 19:09Speaker 1: something to me on Twitter in May of twenty twenty four.
- 19:14Speaker 1: He said something in a comment that made me say
- 19:17Speaker 1: to him, just the idea ed him and said, so
- 19:20Speaker 1: true what you said, sir, Thank you for the nice words.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Have a great night, he said, I always appreciate your content. Bill,
- 19:26Speaker 1: have a great night. Look to engage in the future.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And we went back and forth talking a little bit,
- 19:32Speaker 1: and he said he's coming out. He goes, Hey, Bill,
- 19:34Speaker 1: I'm coming out for a tournament. I said, let's go
- 19:36Speaker 1: to breakfast on Monday morning. Well, we can go to breakfast.
- 19:39Speaker 1: It's a good time for me. Fantastic offer. I never
- 19:43Speaker 1: I never turned.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Down off of the free fluid.
- 19:45Speaker 1: But I'm flying out for the Super Seniors WSLP hopefully
- 19:49Speaker 1: spin that into the five thousand dollars High Rollers Seniors
- 19:52Speaker 1: event last week of June. I'll keep you posted. Hey, Bill,
- 19:56Speaker 1: I made it out to Vegas. Thank you, thankful to
- 19:59Speaker 1: take you up on your Monday offer. I'm in day
- 20:02Speaker 1: two of the Super Seniors. So now I texted him.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I said, I hope you cashed in the Seniors, but
- 20:08Speaker 1: I said, where you're staying. You didn't really tell me
- 20:10Speaker 1: too much. He goes, Hey, tomorrow, let's go to breakfast.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I said, okay, we'll go to breakfast. We went to
- 20:15Speaker 1: breakfast in the morning and he's wearing a bracelet.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I'm my hero.
- 20:21Speaker 1: That's a wait a minute, you didn't win. That's an
- 20:25Speaker 1: old bracelet or something. He said, nope, I want it.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So you won the five thousand dollars Super Seniors two
- 20:30Speaker 1: years ago, the first inaugural Super Seniors.
- 20:34Speaker 4: And no, no, no, it was the sea. I rode,
- 20:36Speaker 4: I min cast the Super Seniors, and I did I
- 20:39Speaker 4: spin it. I spun it into the Seniors, the original
- 20:43Speaker 4: Seniors high Road.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Okay, so you min cash. If you didn't, If you
- 20:46Speaker 1: didn't min cash, you wouldn't have played in.
- 20:48Speaker 4: This that is correct.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Wow. So I did a Berry Greenstein too on day one. Man,
- 20:57Speaker 4: I got it in with aces versus a guy with
- 20:59Speaker 4: King ten and King I board. He hits a ten
- 21:01Speaker 4: on the turn and I hit the ace on the river.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Wow.
- 21:05Speaker 4: And I spun that into like three hundred and sixtieth
- 21:07Speaker 4: place or whatever it was.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And then so you wouldn't have had five hundred and
- 21:11Speaker 1: eighty thousand, eighty five seventy four, five hundred and seventy
- 21:14Speaker 1: four thousand dollars because of that min cash of course.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Yeah, the ace on the river, thanks Greenstein, Thank you.
- 21:21Speaker 2: And when you win that, are they giving you cash?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Are you taking home cash or you having them? You
- 21:27Speaker 2: have them wire.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Telling this story, which is crazy. Okay, you want to
- 21:31Speaker 4: give me like three minutes?
- 21:33Speaker 2: Two? Okay, because take five?
- 21:35Speaker 1: All right, you guys take cash. You're crazy.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Listen, wait, why someone's gonna rob you?
- 21:41Speaker 1: They know you won the bracelet alright, so go ahead,
- 21:44Speaker 1: you take these gamblers are night, good guys?
- 21:46Speaker 4: All right? So so I came out with very very
- 21:49Speaker 4: small amount of money, and once I bought into the
- 21:51Speaker 4: five K. I had some backers, Okay, it was I
- 21:54Speaker 4: literally left myself with like about three hundred bucks and
- 21:58Speaker 4: I lasted, you know, the three days. This is a
- 22:00Speaker 4: true story. Okay. When I'm when I'm up at the
- 22:05Speaker 4: final table, heads up, We're playing for like about an hour.
- 22:08Speaker 4: It ended up being a couple. I get a water
- 22:10Speaker 4: and I tipt on tape. I tipped two bucks. I
- 22:14Speaker 4: had zero dollars left in my wallet. Oh my god,
- 22:17Speaker 4: I had when I am hoisting this bracelet right here. Uh,
- 22:21Speaker 4: I had zero dollars.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Okay, that could be you.
- 22:27Speaker 4: So I'm a house painter. You didn't tell him I'm
- 22:28Speaker 4: a house painter. This is literally you know, like dart
- 22:32Speaker 4: and stuff. Right, you can get a water and so
- 22:36Speaker 4: this is the this is the greatest, and this story
- 22:39Speaker 4: gets gets awesome. You'll never hear anything like it. I've
- 22:43Speaker 4: been waiting to tell the story. You have to wonder
- 22:45Speaker 4: why you can never put on before. So now I
- 22:49Speaker 4: go over here to the payout window and I'm like,
- 22:52Speaker 4: you know what, this is my one time just to
- 22:55Speaker 4: have like a load of cash. You're telling me, how
- 22:57Speaker 4: do you want to do this? So I took my
- 23:03Speaker 4: Hi Martha she's the first time she's gonna hear this too.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I took twenty eight brand in cash, and I took
- 23:13Speaker 4: the rest in the check.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Okay, that's not bad, all right.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I walked from here down the strip at one am
- 23:20Speaker 4: in the morning with twenty eight grand in my pack,
- 23:23Speaker 4: looking dour and sour and like miserable, but knowing that
- 23:27Speaker 4: I was walking down the strip twenty eight brand. And
- 23:30Speaker 4: then I threw it on the bed at Park MGM.
- 23:32Speaker 4: When I got back, I took some pictures and oh.
- 23:36Speaker 1: She's gonna put this on you because you're gonna be
- 23:37Speaker 1: talking more than me.
- 23:38Speaker 4: So so yeah, I did the I did the winners,
- 23:43Speaker 4: the winner's photo, you know, just laid it out on
- 23:45Speaker 4: the bed and I got the check there. So I'll
- 23:49Speaker 4: tell the Pedro story. I mean, you didn't want to tell.
- 23:51Speaker 4: It's a great story. So when I was playing the
- 23:53Speaker 4: Super Seniors, John I Walk, I had befriended the valet
- 23:57Speaker 4: at the at Park MGM. He was doing the nomad.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Actually great guy who got stiffed by Tropicana after thirty
- 24:04Speaker 4: five years, and we were talking. So Pedro, I said,
- 24:07Speaker 4: you know what, I'm walking to the Super Seniors. I'm
- 24:09Speaker 4: gonna give you a free one percent free room to
- 24:11Speaker 4: the super seniors. Right. Oh, so I've been cash and
- 24:15Speaker 4: I give him the twenty bucks and I said, you know, Pedro,
- 24:18Speaker 4: it's like, you know what, I'm giving you one percent of.
- 24:22Speaker 2: My senior's high roleatives stop.
- 24:25Speaker 4: So I gave him one percent the valet there and yeah,
- 24:31Speaker 4: after taxes, I handed him forty two hundred bucks.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 24:36Speaker 4: We have become friends. And he did he put together
- 24:41Speaker 4: in a day. I mean, God, bless this guy man
- 24:43Speaker 4: and Norma his wife Norma, they're the greatest. He put
- 24:46Speaker 4: together this frame picture of a cookie monster, wrote all
- 24:50Speaker 4: this beautiful stuff about how I had helped him at
- 24:54Speaker 4: a really tough time in his life. And anyway, the
- 25:01Speaker 4: he orders me, I'm I ended. I extended my stay.
- 25:04Speaker 4: I was really flying out right after breakfast, really extended
- 25:07Speaker 4: my stay so I could walk around bragging about this thing.
- 25:11Speaker 4: You know, this story, and well he doesn't know all
- 25:15Speaker 4: of them. The rest of this though, So this gets
- 25:18Speaker 4: really good. And I mean when I say really good,
- 25:22Speaker 4: this is good. So he orders me a limo to
- 25:26Speaker 4: take me to the airport the morning that I'm leaving.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Now it's two days later, just to Mark, you know here,
- 25:32Speaker 4: just do this, and I'm like, okay, this is awesome.
- 25:34Speaker 4: What a guy. So I've got the cash and figuring out,
- 25:41Speaker 4: you know how, I'm taking his cash and I got
- 25:43Speaker 4: the check and then I'm right ready to go downstairs
- 25:49Speaker 4: to the limo. The limbo text me and I'm like, shit,
- 25:54Speaker 4: what if I'm going to get like taken down by
- 25:59Speaker 4: the limit driver? What did they know? And like, I
- 26:02Speaker 4: just like it now, I only got like fifteen seconds.
- 26:05Speaker 4: They just swirl them through my head. All right, Well
- 26:07Speaker 4: the cash, what can I do about? I can't do
- 26:09Speaker 4: much about the cash. They're gonna take me for what
- 26:11Speaker 4: I had left. I had loan some out, but I
- 26:14Speaker 4: still had like about it. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I
- 26:17Speaker 4: put the check. I'm like thinking, I got a check
- 26:19Speaker 4: for over five hundred K. You know what, I'm gonna
- 26:22Speaker 4: put it in a sock and stuff into my luggage.
- 26:26Speaker 4: So oh my god, No, no, no, I'm not I'm
- 26:29Speaker 4: not doing that. They might just like take everything I got.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I put the check in a sack and I put
- 26:34Speaker 4: it in my crotch.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Well they can't steal it.
- 26:37Speaker 4: What do you do with the check? I don't know, Bill,
- 26:39Speaker 4: This is what I'm thinking. You get that?
- 26:41Speaker 2: No, I get it. I get it, man, I get it.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Half a million dollars sure, and I got backers and
- 26:46Speaker 4: I this is like my one score. So I did
- 26:49Speaker 4: I put the check in a socket. I put it
- 26:51Speaker 4: in my crotch. It's a it's a through flight back home.
- 26:56Speaker 4: We stop off one time. Everybody gets off the plane
- 26:59Speaker 4: but me. I am the only one flying. They were
- 27:01Speaker 4: all going to Florida. I'm the only one flying on
- 27:03Speaker 4: breeze back to Bradley. And I asked him can I
- 27:07Speaker 4: use the bathroom? And I gotta go? And do I
- 27:09Speaker 4: do need to get off? He said, no, no, you
- 27:11Speaker 4: can use the bathroom. So I go and I use
- 27:13Speaker 4: the bathroom and I and I come back and I
- 27:15Speaker 4: fall asleep, you know, And and we we end up
- 27:18Speaker 4: in Bradley and I'm back home and my wife greets me.
- 27:22Speaker 4: We go out to dinner and she said, well, it's like,
- 27:26Speaker 4: what did you do with the check? I'm like, oh,
- 27:28Speaker 4: for god, it hit me. I had forgotten about it. Okay,
- 27:32Speaker 4: So I go, I go into the bathroom and it's
- 27:35Speaker 4: gone because the sock is gone gone, And I'm like, well,
- 27:40Speaker 4: how can it be gone? How can it be gone?
- 27:44Speaker 2: What?
- 27:45Speaker 4: And I'm like, I'm running through and now I'm I
- 27:47Speaker 4: am dying in this bathroom at a ninety nine restaurant
- 27:50Speaker 4: back home, and I had to be like white and
- 27:55Speaker 4: I still feel it, and it occurred.
- 27:58Speaker 1: To me to this day.
- 27:59Speaker 4: You don't, no, No, I know where I went. I
- 28:01Speaker 4: went to bathroom in that in that era in airplane lavatory,
- 28:05Speaker 4: took my trous down and and the sock did not
- 28:08Speaker 4: make it back up, and they just cleaned it out.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Gone to the World Series.
- 28:17Speaker 1: No no.
- 28:18Speaker 4: So so now I'm texting my friends, Look, you gotta
- 28:22Speaker 4: go find somebody at the at the World Series of Poker.
- 28:25Speaker 4: You gotta find somebody that that can help me with
- 28:27Speaker 4: this whatever. And and they finally they get me a name,
- 28:31Speaker 4: and I'm texting this guy and he's not really getting
- 28:34Speaker 4: what my problem is. He's not really responding quickly, and
- 28:39Speaker 4: I'm pair of this is.
- 28:40Speaker 2: We need this taking care of it immediately.
- 28:44Speaker 4: So this, this conversation took way too long. It's like
- 28:48Speaker 4: over over a day for him to understand. I need
- 28:52Speaker 4: to have another check that was canceled and another one reissued. Finally,
- 28:57Speaker 4: all right, they get this done, they cancel it out
- 29:00Speaker 4: and and he shows me, okay, we're sending out the
- 29:03Speaker 4: new chick sends me a picture, very nice of it,
- 29:05Speaker 4: and all right. Now it's like a day later doesn't
- 29:10Speaker 4: come in. I'm like, okay, I'm I'm I'm sweating this.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I gotta pay my backs. And the next day doesn't
- 29:16Speaker 4: come in. I'm like, oh my god. So I'm texting
- 29:18Speaker 4: this guy again again. He's not responding to right away,
- 29:22Speaker 4: and he's like, no, no. He shows me a picture
- 29:25Speaker 4: of this was delivered. The delivery driver showed the picture
- 29:29Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh my god, that's not my house.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's.
- 29:35Speaker 4: Not my house, John house. They delivered it to the
- 29:39Speaker 4: wrong house. So now I'm telling my backers. I have
- 29:48Speaker 4: to tell him now because they they they rightfully, they
- 29:51Speaker 4: want their mind, and I'm telling them what happened. And
- 29:56Speaker 4: God knows whether they believe me or didn't believe me,
- 29:59Speaker 4: whether they thought I was stiffing them. Because you just
- 30:02Speaker 4: never know anybody in the world. I'm sorry, you never.
- 30:05Speaker 4: You don't even know yourself well. Like so one of
- 30:10Speaker 4: them is a ups driver and this was delivered FedEx,
- 30:14Speaker 4: but he knows Buddies and FedEx honestly, guy. He he
- 30:19Speaker 4: figured out it was delivered to the house on the
- 30:22Speaker 4: next street over, next street over. It was addressed the
- 30:27Speaker 4: right house. They delivered it and the people there. Now
- 30:30Speaker 4: this took like five or six days, like, and my
- 30:36Speaker 4: wife had gone on vacation, so I was home, you know,
- 30:39Speaker 4: with my son, and and just like panicking is the
- 30:42Speaker 4: worst week of my life. I'm telling you, worst worst
- 30:45Speaker 4: week of my life. And did you go on? He
- 30:49Speaker 4: went he and and he got it. But the greatest
- 30:51Speaker 4: part about this is now. But by that time I
- 30:53Speaker 4: had called this guy again, and he must be like,
- 30:56Speaker 4: come on, man, what's going on? You are you trying
- 30:58Speaker 4: to catch three checks? Is that what it is? And
- 31:00Speaker 4: and they I had them like wire.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Me the money.
- 31:04Speaker 4: But the guy found check. Guy, the guy found the check.
- 31:08Speaker 4: That check got canceled. So I still have that check.
- 31:11Speaker 2: That's actually kind of cool, He's kind of cool, thank you.
- 31:14Speaker 4: But I went through a lot to have that as
- 31:16Speaker 4: a keepsake.
- 31:18Speaker 3: I'm taking the cash after all this, I'm taking the
- 31:20Speaker 3: cash ten million. I want the whole ten million in
- 31:24Speaker 3: cash on the table, man, and we'll deal with the rest.
- 31:28Speaker 1: And now you said you have backers. Now, why would
- 31:30Speaker 1: backers get involved with this with you? How did you
- 31:33Speaker 1: get that? How did that happen?
- 31:35Speaker 4: Well, so, so I play crazy poker down my local casino.
- 31:39Speaker 4: You know, I go all in blind. That's how I
- 31:40Speaker 4: always start off on the cash games. Okay, and my
- 31:44Speaker 4: kind of guy, Oh yeah, I am so. So anyway,
- 31:49Speaker 4: I go to the regulars have been playing with me
- 31:52Speaker 4: MGM screen fields where I play, and these guys have
- 31:54Speaker 4: been playing two five with me for like about five
- 31:57Speaker 4: or six years and there, and I offered them no markup.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I said, look, I'm selling fifty. You can have up
- 32:06Speaker 4: to ten percent, five hundred bucks no markup, And they
- 32:09Speaker 4: Joseph w like that. All the regulars who had they
- 32:14Speaker 4: didn't think. They didn't understand that it was not going
- 32:17Speaker 4: all in blood of course, Okay, right then had a
- 32:21Speaker 4: clue that I would not play that way in a tournament,
- 32:25Speaker 4: and I got a hind in Bob. At this point, okay,
- 32:28Speaker 4: prior to that, I had won probably four out of
- 32:33Speaker 4: the last ten tournaments that I played. Two of them
- 32:35Speaker 4: had like many runners, three digit runners, and two of
- 32:39Speaker 4: them were local like six or seven. But I got
- 32:41Speaker 4: a hand in mine. It's right there, like first and
- 32:44Speaker 4: seconds in these local tournaments and no, they're not interested.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Wouldn't you agree though, that even though of course you're
- 32:51Speaker 3: not going to go all in blind in the in
- 32:53Speaker 3: the high Rollers Senior, but just having that as part
- 32:57Speaker 3: of your makeup is why you're able to win an
- 33:00Speaker 3: event like that, because you need that fearlessness in a
- 33:05Speaker 3: tournament exactly exactly, so literally, I talked about this on
- 33:12Speaker 3: the way in in the car today to hear I
- 33:15Speaker 3: talked about this on camera on the vlog you're gonna see.
- 33:18Speaker 4: I love it. It's just the truth. So there's a
- 33:22Speaker 4: lot of intuition tournament poker. I tell people all the time.
- 33:25Speaker 4: I was born naturally left handed. My dad was a teacher.
- 33:28Speaker 4: He made me write here I did, my arm could
- 33:30Speaker 4: rest on the rest on the desk. But I am
- 33:32Speaker 4: a natural tournament player. I am a I forced my
- 33:37Speaker 4: cash game play like it is so different. But I
- 33:41Speaker 4: always mean buy cash games always and literally I grind
- 33:46Speaker 4: it down to a nub. I don't add on. I
- 33:48Speaker 4: don't care if it's not to you know, ten bucks,
- 33:50Speaker 4: twenty bucks, whatever. I will try to spin that up
- 33:52Speaker 4: and I have multiple times. But it made me a
- 33:56Speaker 4: way better tournament player, way better because now Okay, if
- 33:59Speaker 4: I'm down to to out of two to five table,
- 34:02Speaker 4: I can. I'm just gonna be patient. I'm a wait
- 34:04Speaker 4: for that spot where I can actually put the forty
- 34:07Speaker 4: in and get the best value for it. And there
- 34:10Speaker 4: are ways you just learned that you would never learn
- 34:12Speaker 4: if you're constantly max buying cash glows, if you're constantly
- 34:16Speaker 4: pulling out of your pocket, which is nothing you can
- 34:18Speaker 4: do in tournament play. You cannot pull out of your pocket, right,
- 34:21Speaker 4: he said, every chip is precious.
- 34:23Speaker 1: John pulls out of his pocket.
- 34:28Speaker 4: He knows what I mean.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah, And.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Truthfully, the so fore handed you'll love this too. Fore Handed,
- 34:37Speaker 4: I had the chip lead, but there was one guy
- 34:39Speaker 4: that was really pretty close to me. He was a
- 34:41Speaker 4: small blind. This end button was a short stack, and
- 34:45Speaker 4: I'm under the gun and the dealer shuffling. I raised
- 34:48Speaker 4: under the gun blind forehanded at the final table.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I love it.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Okay, I love it. And so now because I know, okay,
- 34:56Speaker 4: if the short stack moves in and it's an opportunity
- 34:59Speaker 4: for him, if he's got you know something, I'm just
- 35:01Speaker 4: calling him and I'm going for the knockout. This is
- 35:04Speaker 4: a huge page hub and and he folds small blind
- 35:09Speaker 4: set second and chips to me pretty close. Like I said,
- 35:12Speaker 4: he raises, Okay, I think we were at three hundred thousand.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Maybe he makes it a million, right fold. And now
- 35:21Speaker 4: I look at my cars, John, I.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Got ace cap, Oh my god, And it's impossible to
- 35:26Speaker 3: see that coming.
- 35:27Speaker 2: They never buy it.
- 35:29Speaker 4: And none of these guys have ever faced anything like
- 35:32Speaker 4: this before. They're just you know, I'm dressed up as
- 35:35Speaker 4: Cookie Monster. I got a little I showed the kids
- 35:39Speaker 4: here and you know I'll show you after. And for
- 35:43Speaker 4: the whole three days, I buffaloed these people into believing
- 35:47Speaker 4: that I was just some some schmuck having fun wreck
- 35:51Speaker 4: and and I'm much more than that.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Where the Cookie Monster name come from? The cookie? Where'd
- 35:56Speaker 1: that come from?
- 35:57Speaker 4: The So that's a whole. Do we have three more minutes?
- 36:00Speaker 1: No?
- 36:01Speaker 4: Anyway?
- 36:02Speaker 1: All right?
- 36:03Speaker 4: No, we went shop. I have a son with down syndrome.
- 36:06Speaker 4: My wife and I are shopping in Sears and he
- 36:08Speaker 4: sees this Cookie Monster customs about eight years old, and
- 36:12Speaker 4: he wants it and like, well, it's actually for adults.
- 36:16Speaker 4: And it's like Andrew, you know it's not for you,
- 36:20Speaker 4: So we go downstairs. I cannot believe this to this day.
- 36:23Speaker 4: I think this is right before Sears went under. We
- 36:25Speaker 4: go into the kids sex they got nothing with Cookie
- 36:27Speaker 4: Monster on it. How is it even possible?
- 36:30Speaker 1: Huh.
- 36:30Speaker 4: So he's crying and my wife said, all right, we
- 36:33Speaker 4: got to take him out, and like, so we go
- 36:35Speaker 4: out to the car. Wait a minute, I'm going back in.
- 36:37Speaker 4: I buy the Cookie Monster thing. I put it on
- 36:40Speaker 4: and appease my son thrilled. It's got a beanie on
- 36:43Speaker 4: it with ice and so anyway, I wore it around
- 36:47Speaker 4: the house for a couple of years and and stuff.
- 36:49Speaker 4: You know, one day I said to my wife, and
- 36:51Speaker 4: I go down to Foxwoods every Saturday, so you know
- 36:53Speaker 4: what I'm gonna do. I'm wearing a Cookie Monster costume
- 36:55Speaker 4: down with Foxwoods.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And you are not.
- 36:58Speaker 4: And like my wife knows as soon as she says
- 37:00Speaker 4: you are not, I am too. So so I put
- 37:05Speaker 4: it on underneath the coat. It's the wintertime, and I
- 37:07Speaker 4: got the beanie in my coat pocket. I'm I'm gonna
- 37:10Speaker 4: wait for the right hand. It's gonna be perfect. Right.
- 37:13Speaker 4: So we're into this two five game about about an
- 37:16Speaker 4: hour and then I got pocket eight's I raised. Somebody
- 37:19Speaker 4: re raises me, and it's back to me. And I
- 37:21Speaker 4: just flat and I'm feeling it. This is the one
- 37:24Speaker 4: I got pocket eighths. The plot comes Ace three to two, right,
- 37:29Speaker 4: eight three to two, rather eight three to two. I got,
- 37:32Speaker 4: I got the nuts. So he checks, I bet and
- 37:35Speaker 4: he flats right Ace on a turn, just like I need. Guys,
- 37:39Speaker 4: clearly got ace king. Now he bets. I'm like, this
- 37:43Speaker 4: is the moment. This is it. So I take off
- 37:46Speaker 4: the coat and I got a bunch of people right now.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I got a build, big cookie manster, googly eyes on this,
- 37:52Speaker 4: this shirt I put on the beanie, I go me
- 37:56Speaker 4: all in guns me snaps me with this that the
- 38:00Speaker 4: base wow, and the table erupted, and everybody from around
- 38:08Speaker 4: they just all came over to see what it was
- 38:12Speaker 4: the first day. That is true, I won out as
- 38:19Speaker 4: a man.
- 38:19Speaker 2: That's incredible.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Talk about I became the cookie, that's all they called me.
- 38:24Speaker 4: So I just wore it every single You.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Did an interview that I listened to on non with
- 38:29Speaker 1: him to.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Show you that the After Gambling.
- 38:31Speaker 1: After Gambling podcast, you did episode one hundred. This is
- 38:34Speaker 1: before you want to race it. It is, yeah, And
- 38:36Speaker 1: I actually enjoyed listening today. I listened to it yesterday
- 38:40Speaker 1: and it's a little long, but we're not trying to
- 38:42Speaker 1: go too.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Long, like no, no, but however, I do.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I thought it was a really good podcast. You talked
- 38:47Speaker 1: about being a gambler and how it has affected you
- 38:50Speaker 1: throughout your life when you were younger, just like all
- 38:52Speaker 1: of us, we've all I was a djen as a kid.
- 38:54Speaker 1: John Stilly still a djen now.
- 38:57Speaker 4: No, I am too, Yeah, honestly I am. I mean,
- 39:00Speaker 4: it's just what it is. I don't think you can
- 39:02Speaker 4: be a successful gambler without being a djen. But it
- 39:05Speaker 4: is the it is the being a better gamble thing
- 39:08Speaker 4: that my friend and Jamie Salzburg and I have like
- 39:11Speaker 4: really focused in on, and it attracted the tension of
- 39:14Speaker 4: Harvard's Division on Addiction. We've done multiple podcasts for them.
- 39:18Speaker 4: They're doing a training series for counselors using our content.
- 39:23Speaker 4: But I talked about you know, I've had my truck
- 39:26Speaker 4: repossessed twice and true story, one of the times that
- 39:30Speaker 4: it was repossessed, I called up my friend, I said, hey,
- 39:33Speaker 4: can you help me? We got gotta go pick up
- 39:36Speaker 4: my truck. We went over there. I you know, I
- 39:38Speaker 4: dug up the money, I took out a cashier bands
- 39:41Speaker 4: and a credit card, and I went and I paid
- 39:44Speaker 4: it off, and the two of us went down to
- 39:45Speaker 4: Mohicans and to play poker that day.
- 39:48Speaker 2: I love it.
- 39:48Speaker 1: But you've had stories.
- 39:49Speaker 4: And that is why I want to be transparent about
- 39:52Speaker 4: this stuff, because that kind of stuff is not the
- 39:56Speaker 4: whole story. This happened at sixty two. Yes, I have
- 39:58Speaker 4: gambled since I was it on everything, everything. I was
- 40:02Speaker 4: a semi pro bowler, used to travel all around New
- 40:05Speaker 4: England when I was eighteen years old. I'm betting twenty
- 40:08Speaker 4: five bucks a game. I'm bowling in nineteen eighty Wow,
- 40:11Speaker 4: I mean big money.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 4: And it's like, but that made me tough too. And
- 40:18Speaker 4: and the other thing. My parents taught me to play poker.
- 40:22Speaker 4: They never let me win. I like that, never let
- 40:26Speaker 4: me win, man. Yeah, And so I don't let I
- 40:29Speaker 4: don't know, I don't check it down. I don't take
- 40:31Speaker 4: it easy on anybody. We are playing the hand. And
- 40:35Speaker 4: and if I win, I am enjoying myself. I'm gonna
- 40:38Speaker 4: celebrate massive pot. I won, you know whatever, I I like, Yes,
- 40:44Speaker 4: and I did it in the final table too, man,
- 40:46Speaker 4: I enjoyed myself. That that whole thing the acting like
- 40:49Speaker 4: you've been there before. No, I was never there before,
- 40:52Speaker 4: and I was going to enjoy myself and I made
- 40:54Speaker 4: sure everybody at that table enjoyed themselves too.
- 40:57Speaker 2: It's awesome, But.
- 40:58Speaker 1: What about when you were younger than and like you
- 41:00Speaker 1: said some of the things, I like what you said
- 41:02Speaker 1: about gambling, like how you started, It's just like how
- 41:06Speaker 1: I started. Our parents taking us to My dad took
- 41:09Speaker 1: me to a racetrack. My dad took me to Mamma's
- 41:12Speaker 1: park and my dad, you know, they gambled on the weekends.
- 41:15Speaker 1: They gambled on the weekends. Their men played.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Cards, home games, women all women played.
- 41:21Speaker 1: All the women played cards. And now they thought it
- 41:24Speaker 1: was it was harmless, but it could have an impact
- 41:28Speaker 1: on you when you're a child, and then you have
- 41:31Speaker 1: that brain that's absorbed like a sponge, and you say, well,
- 41:34Speaker 1: if it's okay for them to gamble, my dad to
- 41:37Speaker 1: go to the race.
- 41:38Speaker 4: SOO, this is the one thing I want to focus
- 41:40Speaker 4: in on. Okay, parents, grandparents, whatever, you should never be
- 41:46Speaker 4: giving kids free bets. And and I think their guilt
- 41:51Speaker 4: got them. You know, they're taking an eleven year old
- 41:53Speaker 4: to a track. Oh you know, Mark, here here's a dollar,
- 41:56Speaker 4: pick a thing you could. All you can do is win.
- 41:58Speaker 4: You can never lose to point, and this is like
- 42:03Speaker 4: the biggest problem. That and the lottery thing. I know
- 42:07Speaker 4: we're gonna agree on this. Giving out lottery tickets disgusting.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I agree. This is so everyone does it. We used
- 42:13Speaker 1: to do it.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Dude.
- 42:13Speaker 1: You found to give you.
- 42:14Speaker 4: A ticket that is a gift. I give you a
- 42:16Speaker 4: ticket that is yours. You win a million dollars, that
- 42:18Speaker 4: is your million dollars. But now it gets complicated. Doesn't
- 42:21Speaker 4: know you don't owe me a damn dime.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Man, I gave you that, right.
- 42:26Speaker 4: That is yours, but it's not how it.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Works, right, I'm off if you don't, right, Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 4: And it's like no, no, that is so complicated. But
- 42:35Speaker 4: people don't think about the complications. Sure, but my uncle
- 42:39Speaker 4: was the patriarch of gambling in my family, but he
- 42:43Speaker 4: gambled as an escape. My uncle was at Pearl Harbor
- 42:47Speaker 4: at nineteen years old, and I can't even imagine. My
- 42:51Speaker 4: other uncle drove a tank in the Battle of the Bulge. Wow,
- 42:54Speaker 4: this is serious trauma that you escape from the kids
- 42:59Speaker 4: your age, you know, twenty one whatever, it is like,
- 43:03Speaker 4: I'm sorry you don't have the kind of trauma that
- 43:05Speaker 4: you need to be betting all the time on your
- 43:07Speaker 4: phone as an escape. For now. It is a whole
- 43:11Speaker 4: different thing. And and getting into a program, a race
- 43:16Speaker 4: program was what my uncle needed, and it caused him
- 43:21Speaker 4: a lot of stories. It's a horse track pro a
- 43:23Speaker 4: horse race program, seeing the past results and stuff like that.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah, like the form, yeah yeah, yeah.
- 43:31Speaker 4: And he's very smart. He was a very smart guy.
- 43:34Speaker 4: And a true story. He got in trouble with the mob.
- 43:38Speaker 4: He lost so much money to bookies. My mother was
- 43:44Speaker 4: his wife's sister and my dad was his brother, so
- 43:48Speaker 4: siblings married each other, right. My uncle went to my
- 43:52Speaker 4: father for money, and he went to my mother for
- 43:55Speaker 4: money to pay the same debt because he wanted to
- 43:58Speaker 4: cut it in half for both of them. Forty years later,
- 44:03Speaker 4: we're at the table. My uncle had already passed. I
- 44:05Speaker 4: was a sudden. They're telling the story one my father's
- 44:07Speaker 4: told a story about how my uncle came to him
- 44:09Speaker 4: one time, and my mother's like, wait a minute, and
- 44:12Speaker 4: they they tied notes together. It was the same time,
- 44:15Speaker 4: and they had me the one ever knew. They both
- 44:18Speaker 4: kept that secret. Wow, And it's the secrets of gambling
- 44:23Speaker 4: that I just want to expose. I wish more people
- 44:25Speaker 4: understood how devastating the whole trail is down. Yeah, you know,
- 44:30Speaker 4: and and it's not it's not this. This is great,
- 44:35Speaker 4: But you know, I've missed Morgan. This right happened at
- 44:39Speaker 4: sixty two. Yeah, I've missed mortgage payments, tapped into my
- 44:43Speaker 4: wife's credit.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and I had a banker at twenty one. There
- 44:47Speaker 1: you go, bankruptcy. I was a little DJ and gambler.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Even though I knew the skill sets of card counting
- 44:53Speaker 1: and stuff. I still love going to the racetracks and stuff. Yeah,
- 44:56Speaker 1: someone shook me and I showed me the right way,
- 44:59Speaker 1: and I had to make money on you know, spo.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Full accountability here. I am a profitable pope. But that
- 45:06Speaker 4: doesn't change that. Okay, if I've made money and then
- 45:09Speaker 4: I spent it and then I lose, I didn't plan
- 45:12Speaker 4: to lose, So you can talk to me about bank
- 45:14Speaker 4: roll all forever. Like, give me a break. Okay, give
- 45:18Speaker 4: me a break, because what do I want to do?
- 45:20Speaker 4: Bankroll money away? So to leave it there so I
- 45:22Speaker 4: can lose it later, That will never make sense to me,
- 45:26Speaker 4: you know.
- 45:27Speaker 1: To go off for a little bit different than your mom.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Didn't you tell your mom? I love this advice too, Mom.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Don't buy the kids lottery tickets. Person, don't buy the
- 45:36Speaker 1: kids lottery tickets. Don't let them pick numbers for you.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Keno numbers, John, I'll tell you his first gambling was
- 45:42Speaker 1: lounge in the restaurants. Some numbers on Keno. And that's
- 45:48Speaker 1: just it's it's you think it's a harmless thing.
- 45:50Speaker 4: It is.
- 45:50Speaker 1: And I don't blame her.
- 45:51Speaker 2: That rush when you picked it, right.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I told you number twenty three.
- 45:56Speaker 4: You know you never feel the pain of it, and
- 46:02Speaker 4: you never forget the rush. Yeah, I had a dollar
- 46:05Speaker 4: given to me, Yeah, one four to seven. I still
- 46:08Speaker 4: remember the numbers to this.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Had a horse track, yeah, or dog track? Yeah, one
- 46:12Speaker 4: four seven, nailed to trifecta. I'm twelve years old. I
- 46:16Speaker 4: hit it for in nineteen seventy four. I did it
- 46:18Speaker 4: for one hundred and forty dollars.
- 46:20Speaker 1: That's the end of that. You remember the horses names
- 46:21Speaker 1: and everything.
- 46:23Speaker 2: I remember Skyline's rocket, gebraltar and wreaking habit.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. How nine years old years old get
- 46:32Speaker 1: that twelve years old racetrack? I like something you said
- 46:35Speaker 1: in the car though you said that's true about gamblers today.
- 46:38Speaker 1: A lot of people that are gambling just don't want
- 46:41Speaker 1: to work.
- 46:42Speaker 4: That's your word, I word true.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah, they just don't want to work. They I can
- 46:46Speaker 1: win a gambling and not knowing what the house edges.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Just not sustainable because not.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Knowing what the house edges are whatever craps blackjack, roulette
- 46:54Speaker 1: and just say I don't want to work. This is
- 46:56Speaker 1: an easier way for me to make money.
- 46:58Speaker 4: I think that's especially true of poker players.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I don't know, Okay, yeah, I agree, all right, yeah destiny.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you feel you feel like you can build
- 47:08Speaker 4: an edge and you can. So what how many? How
- 47:12Speaker 4: many players do you think? What percentage are profitable enough
- 47:16Speaker 4: to actually live a life that would also include healthcare,
- 47:20Speaker 4: taking care of your teeth, you know, simply?
- 47:23Speaker 2: I would say less than five percent?
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 47:25Speaker 3: Wow, I mean I'm guessing, but I can't imagine that
- 47:29Speaker 3: it's better than that, right, it can't be better than that.
- 47:32Speaker 4: So why would anybody as a group chase a career? Yeah,
- 47:37Speaker 4: less than five percent are going to make it to
- 47:39Speaker 4: that level.
- 47:40Speaker 1: So you didn't tell people got off the story. No
- 47:43Speaker 1: one at the table wanted a piece of you. How
- 47:46Speaker 1: did you actually sell off fifty yourself?
- 47:48Speaker 4: All right? One of a very good sports better, tough,
- 47:53Speaker 4: tough guy took ten percent. I made my wife pay
- 47:57Speaker 4: for two percent whole.
- 48:00Speaker 1: She did.
- 48:00Speaker 4: I told her, I said, if you want some of this, like,
- 48:02Speaker 4: you got to put up the money, mate. So she did.
- 48:05Speaker 4: My sister took some. But it was it was a
- 48:10Speaker 4: different group than the core group that I had played
- 48:13Speaker 4: with the.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Did you did you feel a different pressure because you
- 48:20Speaker 3: had backers?
- 48:21Speaker 4: No? Actually it's better for me.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Really.
- 48:23Speaker 4: I was never going to put up five km my own.
- 48:25Speaker 4: I mean, it's just who I am. You know. The
- 48:28Speaker 4: most I've ever put up was in that tournament.
- 48:31Speaker 3: You know, but you blocked it out while you're playing,
- 48:33Speaker 3: like you're not thinking, like, oh if I call this,
- 48:36Speaker 3: I like it.
- 48:38Speaker 4: And and I really like I'm very good at hand reading,
- 48:44Speaker 4: very good at controlling the social game. It's a very
- 48:48Speaker 4: un usual skill, you know. I don't study, I don't
- 48:52Speaker 4: do solber. I did not look up any of my opponents.
- 48:55Speaker 4: I didn't look up their hand in mob. I didn't
- 48:56Speaker 4: want to know. I just I made things happened that
- 49:00Speaker 4: I wanted to happen.
- 49:02Speaker 1: And intellectually zych Q was off the charts. But did
- 49:08Speaker 1: that help you or you're saying the table reading helped it,
- 49:11Speaker 1: because I would think you want to look at who's
- 49:12Speaker 1: at your table hand and mom, I think you want
- 49:14Speaker 1: to know.
- 49:15Speaker 2: You don't want to be psyched out right. I wanted
- 49:18Speaker 2: to just play.
- 49:19Speaker 4: So I'm cookie Monster, and I wanted it to be
- 49:21Speaker 4: the dough Show and that was it, you know, like that,
- 49:26Speaker 4: and and it was. I mean, if you watched this episode,
- 49:29Speaker 4: it's you know, I don't think it's up on polker
- 49:31Speaker 4: Go anymore. It's gone. You will see like it is.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Literally it's my show. I'm being honest.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Let's let's let's get into the going towards the end here.
- 49:43Speaker 1: I want to know about this. After you won that money,
- 49:46Speaker 1: did people start asking you to borrow money?
- 49:48Speaker 4: So I made that very clear early on, because I
- 49:53Speaker 4: really did. From from March on, I told people I
- 49:56Speaker 4: was winning this thing and it's like, nobody's asking me
- 49:58Speaker 4: for money. I want to be very cool and on
- 50:01Speaker 4: one person broke the rules one deal, but I did
- 50:07Speaker 4: want to talk about that because gamblers in general see
- 50:10Speaker 4: their buddy who won. I think I think the mentality
- 50:14Speaker 4: it just like leaks down into like I can tap
- 50:18Speaker 4: into other people's fortune. Just give me a stake, put
- 50:22Speaker 4: me in, ye do that?
- 50:25Speaker 1: Yn't no money, just put me in.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Put me in.
- 50:28Speaker 3: And I told you you were gonna win. So I'm
- 50:31Speaker 3: entitled the to some because I told you.
- 50:35Speaker 1: I told you you.
- 50:38Speaker 4: No, I don't sew gamblers are not my friends, and
- 50:41Speaker 4: I don't believe you can have a gambler as a
- 50:43Speaker 4: true friend, because there's just anyway.
- 50:46Speaker 1: I just say, I never be friends with John.
- 50:48Speaker 4: I could never be.
- 50:49Speaker 3: How much unsolicited text advice were you getting when you
- 50:55Speaker 3: just several stages of the tournament, Like.
- 50:57Speaker 1: I'm probably not No one knew right or did no
- 50:59Speaker 1: one know?
- 50:59Speaker 4: He didn't do very much texting rather than okay, some
- 51:04Speaker 4: big big jumps when I made the money the whole
- 51:08Speaker 4: day one, I didn't text back anything wow, okay, because
- 51:11Speaker 4: I told him I would text them when I got
- 51:13Speaker 4: knocked out.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Yep, and.
- 51:17Speaker 4: The I had I had a sick run right off
- 51:20Speaker 4: the bathroom. So two hundred and fifty big blinds. We
- 51:23Speaker 4: got fifty thousand chips. I sit down for hand one.
- 51:26Speaker 4: We're foe handed, and it took me four hands to
- 51:30Speaker 4: take the guy's chips to my left, all of them,
- 51:33Speaker 4: two hundred and fifty big blinds.
- 51:35Speaker 1: It's like wow, And it was just when you're going
- 51:39Speaker 1: back and you're going back to Now you're gonna go
- 51:40Speaker 1: back the house painting. Yeah, don't. I don't. Don't, But
- 51:43Speaker 1: don't tell me that you didn't think. Now I'm a
- 51:45Speaker 1: poker pro and I gotta start playing tournaments.
- 51:47Speaker 4: No, I've only I have only played.
- 51:50Speaker 2: I think that's rare. I think you're right, though, I
- 51:51Speaker 2: think that's rare.
- 51:52Speaker 4: So I got my money three days before the main
- 51:58Speaker 4: event started, and all all my backers are like, we're
- 52:01Speaker 4: going into Maine, right, We're doing it. I'm like, no,
- 52:04Speaker 4: I literally said this. I said, I am on cloud
- 52:07Speaker 4: nine and I am not coming down from cloud nine
- 52:09Speaker 4: to sit my ass in a chair for eight days.
- 52:12Speaker 3: I hate you for that, all right, But no, that's
- 52:19Speaker 3: a lot of restraint, though. Man, that says a lot
- 52:21Speaker 3: about you. Because I'm playing I'm playing the main yeah,
- 52:25Speaker 3: and I'm playing the fifty K and I don't not get.
- 52:29Speaker 2: That yeah either, But.
- 52:32Speaker 4: But that I knew that that was life changing money.
- 52:34Speaker 4: The percentage that I got was life changing enough for me.
- 52:38Speaker 4: I have a sum with down syndrome. My wife and
- 52:41Speaker 4: I set up a trust ram with that money.
- 52:43Speaker 2: That's great.
- 52:43Speaker 4: We you know, we paid off we paid off our debt,
- 52:47Speaker 4: and we fixed up the house. Honestly and not this
- 52:50Speaker 4: is not patting myself on the back, but I'm still
- 52:53Speaker 4: driving at twenty sixteen Chevy Silverado, you know. And and
- 52:57Speaker 4: it's like, I just made sure we did landscape in
- 53:00Speaker 4: her house, put on a new roof. My wife's from coach,
- 53:04Speaker 4: small town in Costa Rica. Gambling is not anywhere on
- 53:08Speaker 4: her right. This has always been foreign to her and
- 53:12Speaker 4: helped her family. You want to talk about that.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Let me throw ten thousand online poker or five thousands.
- 53:18Speaker 4: So the online thing ended for me back even before
- 53:21Speaker 4: Black Friday whatever. Yeah, yeah, so I I did it.
- 53:26Speaker 4: I took all those bonuses and I was onto my
- 53:29Speaker 4: on my computer. So it just finally, it just it
- 53:35Speaker 4: started to rot my brain. I would play live poker,
- 53:38Speaker 4: and I always enjoyed myself. I'd have the blast, the
- 53:40Speaker 4: social part if I figured it out. But it took
- 53:43Speaker 4: me years before I realized that I was slamming my
- 53:46Speaker 4: my computer down. It's like and not believing what I
- 53:50Speaker 4: was seeing. To this day, I will not play because
- 53:54Speaker 4: I don't care how any.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Looking ever these cards, why these.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Unregulated or even regulated sites, You're being cheated. And and
- 54:08Speaker 4: also there the algorithm is juicing the flops to create rape.
- 54:14Speaker 4: I'll go to my grave believe in it. Really that
- 54:17Speaker 4: it's just people will say more of that happens because
- 54:21Speaker 4: you're playing more hands. Fine, but no, you can't always
- 54:24Speaker 4: have pop set versus versus Matt plus drap.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Do you play on that?
- 54:30Speaker 4: So this is how it was. These flops were all juice, so.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Like seven six, Yeah, that's exactly what.
- 54:37Speaker 1: You at the beginning, exactly Paradise Poker started poker Mike Carroll.
- 54:41Speaker 4: I started with poker room Mike Carroll. Mike Carrol's my
- 54:45Speaker 4: my thing. He is the one. He is the one
- 54:49Speaker 4: guy that I that I modeled my poker play after.
- 54:52Speaker 4: He would talk about how coming in with the men
- 54:54Speaker 4: by just being crazy. Mike.
- 54:55Speaker 2: Dude, Mike Carroll.
- 54:57Speaker 4: There you go. You tell Mike that he he is.
- 55:00Speaker 2: So long ago. I haven't talked to him in ages alive.
- 55:04Speaker 2: I don't even know. I'm literally I can't even tell
- 55:06Speaker 2: you when I talked to him anyway, fifteen years it. Yeah, yeah,
- 55:09Speaker 2: well this has been great.
- 55:10Speaker 1: I think it's great. Yeah, this was fun, talk about
- 55:12Speaker 1: some things and and uh, you still come out once a.
- 55:15Speaker 4: Year for this, Okay, so you can tell you this
- 55:18Speaker 4: is it. You know, I probably only played about three
- 55:20Speaker 4: tournaments back home. I came out last year, I played four,
- 55:23Speaker 4: and I played two this year. That's all I played
- 55:26Speaker 4: since I won the bracelet. It's crazy.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Wow.
- 55:29Speaker 4: But I'm not giving this money back. Good, I'm not
- 55:31Speaker 4: doing it.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Good good good. This is really great, man. This is
- 55:34Speaker 2: a pleasure to meet you. It really was.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Right, guys, we'll see you next week. On Wisecracks.
